Speaker: Welcome, citizens, to another episode of Integrated Dice Management Presents... i h-town heroes i think is what we decided to call this um uh where we play uh masks a new generation um i am your game master ron bjork and with me tonight for a little bit is jayden what's up y'all i'm the is it narcoleptic Is that the good one?
Speaker: Is that the one that's not... Yeah, that's the one where you like fall asleep. back Okay, yeah. As long as I'm not like doing those dead bodies or anything. um I am Iron Man, but not Iron Man.
Speaker: um I'm cooler Iron Man. I'm Iron Boy. I'm actually Kevin. And my Jarvis is Kevin. He's not Jarvis. And yeah. I'll probably be asleep in like 40 minutes.
Speaker: um Also, patrolling the streets for evil is the former villain ah played by Bill.
Speaker: ah everybody. I'm Bill. I'm going to be playing the former villain, now becoming young hero, Rhys. And
Speaker: i love all of you. I love all of you so much. I hope you all know that. Talking to pet talk to my players right now. Just watch the movie Despicable Me, you'll know what a Bill's character is.
Speaker: well And then we also have... Frank! Hi! Um... I'm Frank. is quiet? Am I too quiet?
Speaker: You're pretty quiet. mean, I just turned you up, but for me... How about now? Just eat your mic, just eat your mic. Yeah, put it up real close. That is the exact same. um it's what It is like limited at the exact same.
Speaker: it should be boosted. I think you should do whatever you're doing before and just not vape. You should do that. And the person who just spoke was Hayden. I like to talk a lot. um Siphon, however, likes to be... Come on now. No, you you still am the same.
Speaker: Um... Syphon, however, likes to battle with his inner self of who deserves to rule. How about now? You sound the same.
Speaker: heyer Hayden is like that, is just any typical teenager. Yeah. That's his superpower. Yeah, you're like, that you are like seriously the the best here because you're actually playing what I believe could be a teenager.
Speaker: Wow. Um, and so... Don't let me catch your mom on the street. Just to remind everyone what happened last time, uh, you guys went to a concert, and the concert, uh, things started going crazy. Uh, the illusions that the concert...
Speaker: band, whatever you call them, um, uh, created, started attacking the audience. Um, Pokemon were incinerating crowds of people, and it was, um, and Elsa was freezing people, and, and, um, stuff like that.
Speaker: there was an entire battle and in the sky with, uh, with the Death Star that had nothing to do with you guys. Um, and, uh, eventually, ah Well, before that, Syphon had an encounter with his nemesis,
Speaker: JK, Jester's Kiss. ah And she he revealed his identity to his friend, Tasha's friend, who I believe was named Jessica.
Speaker: um No, she... that You might be thinking of Jurassic-a. What was her name? Her name was split up between either... perhaps... um... thought it was Tasha.
Speaker: Veronica, or... That's right. Tasha is Max's best friend, but he revealed himself to Tasha's friend, Veronica.
Speaker: Um... who was then grabbed by Jester's Kiss and and almost killed, but he saved her. um I did save her, some other rando did. Oh, that's right. Another random hero showed you up and saved saved her instead.
Speaker: um Meanwhile, Calix was saving the day and managed to...
Speaker: find the AI computer down underneath the stage that was generating the images. um we know that We know thanks to Max's vision that that AI computer is some sort of alien tech that was planted on the earth some time ago, um along with a bunch of other tech that is still out there.
Speaker: And so they kind of you know dealt with the problem, saved the day, and that's where we more or less left off last episode. A few days have probably passed, and you guys you know were given like the you know great job from your your principal powers.
Speaker: and but But, you know, an attack on a concert with crazy like lifelike illusions. Nothing unusual for this world.
Speaker: Hold on. Kelsey sent me some sort of message.
Speaker: Hmm.
Speaker: Damn, accidentally closed my eyes and now I can't even open them again. And already preparing to leave us is Jaden. and hit it fuck Why does this always happen?
Speaker: ah So, um you guys are back in school. you know it's It's lunchtime. um Let's just say it's the next day. ah What's for lunch today?
Speaker: We've got... Well, it's it's high school, so there's there's a few possibilities. There's you know a line with chicken strips. There's like a salad line, although the lettuce is looking like not the best.
Speaker: um That's high school salad line. Yeah. there's the The free lunch line is Salisbury steak
Speaker: with like just cold gravy. Wait, did they used to do that to the kids? of Like, if you can't afford lunch, you literally you have to go to a different line and you're being called out from the entire school?
Speaker: Yeah, at my school we used to only get like a cheese sandwich. It was literally bread with a cheese slice and then like it was a drink. Same with all of mine. That's wild. It was literally just two slices of bread and cheese.
Speaker: Langham Creek was at least nice and was like, hey, you just get the same food. You just can't afford it. That's okay. Damn, I wish. It also came with an apple and a bottle of water. Yeah.
Speaker: Or a carton, ah ah one of those little milk cartons. No, I slept on strawberry milk for so long. yeah Strawberry milk good. Bro, and then they ripped it from us whenever... Yeah, Michelle Obama!
Speaker: Thanks, Obama. For real. She took away milk? Yeah, she took away strawberry milk. Oh, no. okay She also took away white bread. Yep, so we all had whole wheat everything.
Speaker: Can you imagine eating a whole wheat chicken sandwich? I can. It was awful. We had to. as hell it was it was What was the brand? I don't fucking remember. no It was no brand. It was no it was like a story high school general brand.
Speaker: It was like like of was a shitty store that for ah like somewhere where you could just get all of that high school quality food. True.
Speaker: but Anyway, sorry, Papa John's. Oh, you're good, you're good, yeah. Papa John's, Papa John's made on whole wheat? Oh, God. No, we had to deal with it. It sounded like that would be so fucking dry.
Speaker: yeah And those tornadoes, they were whole whole wheat instead of corn. Pizza is also an option. You know, you can get a slice of pepperoni or cheese pizza if you're vegetarian. um Yeah.
Speaker: And basically the cheese pizza, they just removed the pepperonis from it and had to, you know. You see the lunch lady in the back just picking off the pepperonis before putting it out. You still see the pepperoni divot in there? Yeah.
Speaker: but it the puddle i cannot tell you how many times growing up that i'd get like that burger from the burger line occasionally you'd get and it'd be red all in the center and be like ah yeah um and yeah so people in the lunchroom they're all chatting about the uh you know the stuff at the the the craziness at the concert yesterday um like some Some people, you know, that there there is, after lunch, going to be a um like a a mandatory memorial in the auditorium for those who were lost in the attack yesterday.
Speaker: um o Do we know, like, do I or any of us know individuals that died? Yeah, that's a good um that's a good question. You probably know some of them in passing, but no named NPCs died.
Speaker: Okay. Can I roll a d20 to see how many of them I might have known? Yes. Out of curiosity, has everyone got those black armbands on and stuff, just walking around being like, oh, wow.
Speaker: Yeah. There surprisingly, despite the like massive clouds of fire that Charizard was breathing all over people, um actual casualties weren't super high. There were...
Speaker: Oh yeah, just show. over oh Were y'all able to see that? ah No, I did not see anything. There were there were only there were seven casualties. But a lot of people in the burn ward and um whatever the frostbite ward would be um and stuff like that.
Speaker: um
Speaker: Wait, Bill, was that a burp or was that a weff heart?
Speaker: I'm sorry, I burped. Dude, that sounded so bad. Luckily, medical technology is pretty advanced, so those people who are injured, they'll be they'll be, you know, make a full recovery, but unfortunately, we lost seven people last night.
Speaker: Damn.
Speaker: And apparently, Max knows fort knew four of them. Damn. That's what you rolled. Yeah. Does that sound any better? Yes.
Speaker: Yes. Yeah, you sound good. I had to close out my my program that I use for audio and reopen it up. ands That sounds like it fixed the problem.
Speaker: Sorry. Alright. So, is Memorial happening now or after school? Do want to do anything at lunch? We're all on the same lunch period, conveniently. I think we had me and Ron talked about a potential encounter with me and Veronica?
Speaker: Victoria Veronica, who was one of the two? I can't remember if it was Victoria Veronica. I think she was named Veronica. No, no, she was her name is Victoria, but I call her Veronica because that's just like some inside joke. She was introduced to me and I misheard it, and since then I just kept her kept calling her of Veronica.
Speaker: But her real name is Victoria. um So... Veronica... ah You actually don't see her right now.
Speaker: So... Go ahead. In the lunchroom. Hey, so... and i've I think I'm the only one that's kind of kept my whole identity thing a full secret from everybody. so do I know... Siphon, do I know that you are Siphon?
Speaker: So, if I remember correctly, you felt... siphon ripping into your, stealing memory from you. Not stealing, but like, basically copy-pasting memory from you. Like, looking looking over your memory and finding your most embarrassing moment.
Speaker: um And then I believe with Ron, we talked about if you do some checks, I think it was ah mundane checks, pierce the mask, that you could
Speaker: think about it and come to the conclusion that it was Max, or that Max is Siphon, but at the moment I don't believe you do know. Okay, then I... Yeah, because we were separated during the fight at the music.
Speaker: Yeah, you're right. and So, Ron, what would that would that be a Pierce the Mask to try to so figure out... ah see if I can kind of connect the dots that Max Jr. is actually siphoned.
Speaker: um They're just sitting at lunch thinking about this, though. Yeah, you can roll pierce. It was just yesterday that some guy, you know, tried to beat him up in class and then felt someone in his mind.
Speaker: Yeah. So it wouldn't sound too out of the norm. Yeah. That's right. I don't think... Jayden, were you there for that one?
Speaker: Sorry, I'm having a mute and unmute. oh Yeah, I think I was for that part.
Speaker: Yeah, I remember that one. That was a good scene. Yeah. submit that oh i don't think i i don't think i I don't think I connected to the dot.
Speaker: I mean, it's still fresh in your mind. you're It'd probably take a few. Keep thinking on it. Yeah. just going to... I'm going to wait for the... then next thing and I'm gonna reroll on it
Speaker: on it. Yeah, four. So um first you gain experience points. Because you failed. Yeah. And there are no negatives to a Pierce the Mask four.
Speaker: so Or Pierce the Mask failure. But yeah, you do gain an experience point. Do I see... Do I see Tasha? Tasha is, she's at her usual table. Her other friends are there, but um Veronica is missing.
Speaker: Hmm. Is that abnormal?
Speaker: I mean, it is the day after an attack, and she did just go through a thing, so, like, you could, like... First see her staying home. Normally, Veronica, yeah, if she was here, or she'd be sitting, you know, with with Tasha, but...
Speaker: Hmm.
Speaker: and Um, all right, well then, ah you know, we, we have the memorial and the principal, um, you know, he gets up on stage and he's like, all right, class, as you know, uh, there was an incident at the, uh,
Speaker: the concert yesterday and I just wanted to tell all of you that if you need to speak to anybody about it, just come and see our counselor. Okay. And he will.
Speaker: Okay. Okay. Oh, what? Who the hell fell so hard? About what? Well, what were you rolling for? Cause he rolled a mundane role.
Speaker: Yes. But, but why? Yeah. I'm sorry, that was accident was entirely accidental. i was I was actually just i was just trying to minimize my screen. I just hit a thing.
Speaker: You and hit my thing. So as you guys are sitting in this, um, you know, memorial and the principal and then the event, like the school therapist person is up and they're going through some stuff and, um, and, uh, there's, you know, a slideshow of the people, um, who were hurt and, and lost and, and also injured and stuff like that. And, um,
Speaker: ah And there's like a, um what do you call it, a GoFundMe for the victims of the the concert and so forth.
Speaker: um The band has already donated $10,000 to the GoFundMe. ten thousand dollars to the gound me
Speaker: and But anyway, as you guys are sitting through this mandatory um thing, ah you all get messages on your... ah Basically, you all have through the school sort of like a... you know mission communicator type thingy telling you to um report to ah principal powers office after the um the thing um now principal powers obviously he knows calyx's identity um and he knows well he unofficially knows kevin's identity because his superhero name is kevin um
Speaker: he's Kevin slash Kevin so you know he knows it but he he pretends that he doesn't but ah you know you're all you those of you with costumes would know to report to this this in costume because this is your your official superhero stuff
Speaker: and you know so once the the thing is over what do you guys do
Speaker: um so So the principal already already talked to us? so he's No, we're supposed to be going to his office. Yeah, you're supposed to be going to his office after the memorial thingy. It's not so much i mean it's not a memorial. Is this like an urgent thing? Like you show up as soon as possible? or like It just says says go there after the ah the thing is done.
Speaker: Okay. ah One moment. I've got to remind myself of the name. I'm going to text Clara. Okay. ah That have to work after school.
Speaker: ah Don't wait for me. Okay. she um She gives you a you know like a thumbs up and and says, okay, be careful, you know type of thing.
Speaker: Smiley face. No, actually, she doesn't do that. She's not that type. She just gives you the thumbs up and says, all right, be careful.
Speaker: Claire is cooler than that. That's not thats cool.
Speaker: um Yeah, I guess right after um
Speaker: siphon Siphon shows up. What was the name of that image thingy we were using?
Speaker: think we were just using the Windows... ah
Speaker: Was it... Copilot. Yeah, I think we're using Copilot. Microsoft Edge. Copilot. To make the make all the superheroes we've been making? Yeah, that's what I've been using.
Speaker: Microsoft Edge.
Speaker: The only reason why you opened the app. I don't think I was using Edge, but, you know, how do I get to that then?
Speaker: Uh, so if you find Edge. No, I mean this co-pilot thing.
Speaker: Yeah, so go to Edge. Using Windows 11? Yeah. I'm in Edge now. Yeah, I'm using whatever the newest one And then right below the exit, there's that little symbol right below the the close.
Speaker: Okay. Control. You go to that. Yeah. This is not what I was using, but, um... Are you using Windows 11? I am, yeah. So at the bottom right-hand corner, you should see a weird little loopy-doop thing that says Copilot. and
Speaker: I've never clicked this before. Yeah, I've got it. Is that what you're using? No, I was using... I must have found something on Google.
Speaker: Like, it's fine. ah I
Speaker: I don't remember which which one of these I was using. It doesn't matter. arms I'll just try this copilot thing.
Speaker: Okay, so you guys go to the principal's office? sir Yep. um I'm going to go ahead and i'm gonna ahead stop by the and through the empty room in the library and change first.
Speaker: Okay. i'm I'm going to imagine that my character made himself a tie for the little memorial service. Made himself a tie? tie. It's just some binds that kind of look like a So I step out of the memorial. I kind of, like, tighten it up a little bit.
Speaker: I go into a bathroom, take it off. Like, that's my superhero reveal. And then I come back out of the bathroom after. Okay.
Speaker: yeah A walking tree has to get who has to get into costume. It sounds like a fucking Monty Python sketch.
Speaker: I'm seeing it. Shows how how prepared I was, you know.
Speaker: Uh... Alright, so you get into, you you show up at the principal's office. There is a, um...
Speaker: Oops.
Speaker: So, in there, you see someone already inside that you've never seen before, or at least, um, actually, is there a role for this? To randomly recognize a superhero?
Speaker: Uh... Good question. Was there any blowback so far on the shit did at the concert? No. you You did good stuff. You you saved the day.
Speaker: well i Besides beating the shit out of one of the singers. Oh, yeah. it You did do that.
Speaker: I mean, I don't mean to toot my own horn, but to I beat the shit out of that random civilian. Um, not yet. I forgot about that, so, um, not yet.
Speaker: we're waiting to see that yet We're waiting to see if that person lives. Um... I actually fully forgot about that, dude. yeah I was like, he didn't say anything, and then the group like donated $10,000 to the relief fund, and I'm like, nobody said anything about me. Okay, I'm just going to assume.
Speaker: Fine. I feel like, i feel like i there honestly, when that shit happened, I feel like it was like you in the back of the group and all the rest of us just looking down. Then we all just look at you, and dudes just like, my bad.
Speaker: yeah I'm just getting a picture in here real quick. Where are your documents? Superhero.
Speaker: Where'd she go? I may, you know, update this a bit, but um this will be the picture for now.
Speaker: Okay, so in the um room you see, as you guys enter, who who's who shows up first? Who who went i think took the most direct? I probably did because I'm still upset and angry about everything, so I just kind of ah do whatever I'm supposed to be doing.
Speaker: Do you superhero change? Let me roll for it see if i See if I even have remember. And by remember, I mean, like, not pissed off about everything that happened.
Speaker: Yeah. Because I'm in a very emotional state right now. What should I roll, Ron? um Mundane? Yeah,
Speaker: yeah I mean, yeah. Or just do a d20 or something.
Speaker: I rolled an 8, so I so that probably remembered. Yeah, that's considered a mixed success. But for this for for something like this, that would be just a success. yeah you You would remember to... I mean, isn't aren't isn't your costume just like mask and a hoodie or something?
Speaker: Yeah, mask hoodie and sunglasses because I'm cool like that. yeah So yeah, you come in there. um So you'll be the the first one in there. There's already someone in there. It's ah it's a hero that... Is it my hero?
Speaker: Your hero? The one that I made? yeah No, I don't think so. Which one did you make again? Silk Shadow. Yeah, yours is an adult hero. I thought that was a villain.
Speaker: Oh, I made... She could be a villain, i but I made her as a hero. um She's more like an anti-hero. Well, ah it's not her. Damn it. I do have... I think I've got a picture of her, though. Because Siphon was about to fanboy. Yeah, you did send me pictures of her, that's right.
Speaker: Was it my gold age dwarf guy who likes steampunk stuff? No. um It is a a young hero, a teenager like yourselves. um And she has she wears all black, wears a mask, has a bow strapped across her back.
Speaker: um You may or may not have heard of her. She's not super famous, but she's Darkstrike. um i think i just She looks very generic.
Speaker: Yep, she's she's your generic archer type. Like if I googled generic archer female... Yes. um I was going for that, yeah. ah Okay.
Speaker: And she's in the room. She doesn't say anything to you when you come in unless you say something to her. She's just kind of sitting waiting for everyone else to arrive.
Speaker: I guess I show up and i look at her, look at the principal and I go, I thought this was just for our team. um Yes, you'll be you'll you'll be working with Darkstrike here um for for this ah this mission we've got for you.
Speaker: Any particular reason? Are we being babysat or is she being babysat? Consider it a team-up. A team-up? What does she have what does she have that's connected that connects her to this? Why is she working with us?
Speaker: so oo Hey, Dan, what was your name? Uh, uh... Iron Sand? yeah Hey, Iron Sand, I didn't see you walk in.
Speaker: fuck. Hey, uh, he's like... don't know, he just looks at you like, sorry. What does Iron Sand look like again? okay, so... He wears a... He's wearing his mask, he's never actually shown you his face, so he kinda has a... Yeah.
Speaker: Uh, a mask similar to... Actually, your profile. your profile ah Similar, but just bulkier with actual cartridges. And ah big goggles. He wears a hood and a... ah ah Like a cargo jacket with a big, thick gloves. He wears thick cargo pants and high-type boots. that the same look you had when you were a villain?
Speaker: Or an aspiring villain? it's a very It is very similar. yeah okay yeah When i was when i was a villain, I probably just had to had a couple more like weapons attached and stuff.
Speaker: ah But he's ah you're going to see so him do something you've never seen him do before. He's going to throw his hood back. He's going to lower his mask and take off his goggles. And he's going to say, Whoa. name Name's Reese.
Speaker: Reese?
Speaker: Yeah. And I go, fuck, I guess I owe you the same. And I look at Darkstrike, I'm like, Dark? And go, Dark? so What was your name? Darkstrike.
Speaker: Darkstrike, can you turn around real quick? ah Please? Mask nicely. Yeah, she she she turns away. Sorry, Vince, I don't trust you. You see a si in you see Siphon pull down his hoodie then take off his mask.
Speaker: And there in front of you is Max Jr., ah person that you got in an argument with the other day and you know we we it was more than an argument straight at blows yeah we did i actually rolled you and me rolled fairly fairly even on that on that day ooof yeah we did
Speaker: And then i go i guess I guess we look at each other for a bit and then I put my mask back on. After like 20-30 seconds I'm gonna hold out my hand just as like ah you know handshake just be like Pat it shits in the past.
Speaker: Yep shit rolls downhill. I haven't shit in years. Oh shit it's the tree man. Like shit people tell me I'm quiet.
Speaker: Holy shit. how the fuck is a tree this quiet? I love that this is happening. but Just this way ah by the way. How long have I been transformed? Everything that just happened, including my laughing, all of that was was exactly what Rhys did. He startled him, but he's like...
Speaker: So I don't actually know when I was transformed, so you know i haven't choice shit since then.
Speaker: i and i And then i i my mask was on, I guess, by before, because I said my mask was already on before. Then I turned to Darkstrike. I'm like, okay, you're allowed to turn back around. Thank you. Rhys keep his mask off?
Speaker: he but ah that He kind of publicly showed everyone in this room. Yeah, she yeah he's he already... Yeah, he kind of already... boiled just Since it's already out and about, he's and this is the rest of his team, he Reese has decided he doesn't want to hide it anymore. not from If he's going to be working with them, he's going to put out a little trust and yeah you know let them know that, hey, I'm... I guess, i guess is that influence...
Speaker: we gave each other influence? I would think so, yeah. Fuck yeah! If you didn't already have it, take influence over each other. I already have influence over Ironsan, already have influence over Reese, so I have influence over both of you. Do take influence over Syphon or Max Jr.?
Speaker: I mean, this question at this point, they're the same person. How do you feel about me fucking sucker punching or trying to sucker punch you but stealing So the thing is, they're the same person now. So you both already had influence over each other, which means you each get to shift each other's label. But looking down at my thing, I'm not influenced by Reese or Ironsan.
Speaker: Oh, you're right. He's influenced by. Okay, so yeah he gains influence over you. You get to shift one of his labels. Okay, and so i add influence to both?
Speaker: Or I just put... you already had influence over him. So so just delete... No, i am that I am influenced by. Yes, you are influenced by him now. so yeah um But because you were already had influence over him and you would have basically gained it again from this.
Speaker: You know what? Actually, this is considered team Yeah. um Because you've now shared a weakness or vulnerability.
Speaker: So for Reese, when you share a weakness or vulnerability, this will be ah you're sharing your identity, so that's kind of a vulnerability. Ask them, and this is, can be an either sort of a mix of in and out of character, but you ask them what they would do do something dark for, and oh, you already have influence over them. um I guess that one doesn't really apply Yeah, that sounds like a that sounds like a real like a question that's going to 100% ruin the setting.
Speaker: Oh, dude, go for it. Ask the question what I would do. Actually, no. So you've gained the influence part, but yeah, ask what what you would do. And then for Max, you i have to think if anyone has hope for my situation.
Speaker: Yes, you have to ask if um his character thinks they have hope. But the way I've heard this played in podcasts is its it can be done in character or as sort of like...
Speaker: ah like it's It's always awkward to figure out how to do this. But basically, Bill, you ask Max what
Speaker: what they would do something dark for.
Speaker: I've got try to figure out how to how to kind make this feel right. This could even be in a side scene. What you could ask is... You're talking later, now that you know who each other are.
Speaker: We just like jump forward or something, you know and then jump back to the moment. I guess something that you could ask is like when we, it's just us two or whatever, you could be like, so remember when you tried punching me in the damn face?
Speaker: Yeah. um And just say why I believe the way I do, um considering it's kind of like low-key evil, and if there's anything that I would do to progress that idea, or in general.
Speaker: that I'd act in a villainous way to achieve. Alright. Yeah, I hear ya. We lost somebody.
Speaker: We lost Dana. Yeah, I figured. yeah um Hey, Hayden, I just sent you a text message. Okay.
Speaker: And then Hayden... Okay. And then I can go ahead and... We can go ahead. We can do this. So this is later on, you said? Yeah, it's kind of like an aside.
Speaker: um So were was your mugshot ever shared with you know the the population? Officially, i was actually only caught once.
Speaker: So that was kind of a... It was kind of a whole a whole bullshit a whole bullshit thing. i just I worked with a lot of people, but I was always one of the guys like you know that escaped.
Speaker: So i my ah previously, unless you were like already doing it professionally, you probably didn't receive my picture. Nope. They appear to have added a ridiculous amount of checkbox to the character sheets. like I'm wondering if there's an update or something.
Speaker: So you just want me to ask that straight up now? Yeah. um No, actually, I was going to ask, so, just so I'm clear, about what, about class, do you... Oh, yeah, two days ago?
Speaker: Yeah, when ah you know when we fought, you you're trying to be a hero, but that mentality you have is mentality that I used to see a lot with the people I used to work for.
Speaker: i See, that's that's the that's the thing is...
Speaker: Everyone in the end, we are all people, generally want the same thing. Everyone wants peace, everyone wants order, everyone wants law. But how you achieve it is differently. um And, you know, it's two sides of the coin. We both are acting with the same...
Speaker: intentions, but how we get there is different, and I honestly believe that it's just nature. That's just how nature works. Does the sheep bow to the lion? No.
Speaker: Unfortunately, nature is violent, and nature will do what it takes. And that's just it. I don't disagree with you, but that's because...
Speaker: I was literally raised in that life and that is the exact same argument that pretty much most most of my villains ah most of most villains will follow if they take it professional.
Speaker: Most of them have actually genuinely have some kind of great end goal in mind but they they do some really fucked up shit.
Speaker: And what sucks is that 90% of them are never going to achieve that goal. So, let me ask you a question, now that we are where we are.
Speaker: What's the darkest thing you would do for your goal?
Speaker: I've done some fucked up shit. I've never taken a life. And before you answer this, Hayden, yeah so this, you know, your move is also triggering, um and your thing is, you ask... Yeah, no, I was gonna... Yeah, if they think there's hope for you, so yeah.
Speaker: Yeah, I was gonna like get that in there. um And you see Siphon, like, think, like, have a deep thought, and he goes...
Speaker: Would you ever consider like consider killing your own father?
Speaker: Personally, I never actually knew mine, but... the man The man that I considered my father until just a little while ago? Yeah. I would absolutely fucking kill him.
Speaker: I am here because of him. So... my My father sold my soul to some...
Speaker: interdimensional being and that's why I can do the things I do. um So I guess
Speaker: all my power comes from a deep, deep evil place.
Speaker: And the more I use it, the more powerful that I make him. And, you know, the more I grow in my ability, the more I am doomed.
Speaker: The more I slip into his grasp. i I don't know if I should just give up this whole hero thing or do the little good that I can with...
Speaker: what reality is. um but And you you can't fight it? think i punt i I broke that guy's kneecap when I met him. When I met my doom, I kicked him the kneecap pretty damn hard.
Speaker: So I consider that I'm fighting it, but let's be honest. I'm using his abilities. I'm using his power. If he wants me, he'll take me. I can't fight him.
Speaker: that's That's only assuming if he can't take your power. do you have what if you could What if you weren't fighting him alone? Well, I'd be useless in this fight. Other people would have to do it for me, or I would have to find out a way to... He probably likes deals, so I would have to get him to agree to a deal.
Speaker: to fight him fairly. You either make a deal or you ask or you ask your team for help? Yeah, either I am indebted to everyone else or my soul goes bye-bye.
Speaker: I mean, it's the pot calling the kettle black from me, but... ah
Speaker: I wouldn't... i I'd be willing to help you.
Speaker: Yeah, well, that's the thing. is He's virtually a god.
Speaker: It sounds like he's saying he thinks there's hope for you. Yeah, that's what it sounds like. Mark potential or clear one box on your Doom track. Oh, mark potential because that makes me level up.
Speaker: So what happens with a level up So you clear all of that um the potential out and then you choose one of your... um Oh, when you level up, you choose moves from other playbooks, um which I have all of those moves listed for you over here.
Speaker: Right there. And you can choose one of those. Hayden, are we becoming best friends in the game? I think... Yeah, I mean, I'm becoming pretty close to several of my teammates already.
Speaker: my god! oh my god Favorite favorite animal from Jurassic Park! Velociraptor! Did we even have to become best friends?
Speaker: Hey, Ron. um I can't remember... Like, I thought we were going to add it to my stuff, and i'm not... so Did you level a up? I leveled up once, yes, on that last game. Hold on, let me pull up your playbook then, and let's see.
Speaker: We need Google. i can't I can't edit my playbook at all. All I have to do is fail super hard one more time. You know obviously should be able to, but... Drive...
Speaker: i come man
Speaker: Oh, maybe it's on a different account. What? I can like click like afraid or insecure, but I can't like... Hold on. i Go away, new stuff. All right.
Speaker: My drive.
Speaker: Where is the superhero stuff?
Speaker: I think it's in this folder. Masks.
Speaker: Playbooks. And you are the transformed, right? Or something like that? Yes.
Speaker: There it is. Okay. So your options, so you've got currently... Well, I i chose something. i just don't know what that chose. Yeah, you've currently on your sheet got Be the Monster and Unstoppable, but those are what you started with. So I am not my body.
Speaker: ah Not human enough. Coming for you... wish I could be or or did you choose something from a different playbook?
Speaker: No, I know what you did. um didn't you choose? Uh, okay. Let me, let me look at this real quick. Um,
Speaker: I think it did mutate further and reveal another new ability. It's where Advancements is. Yeah, you did mutate further. um
Speaker: So, Hayden, you just leveled up. So you... yeah um That's right. When you level up, you have... Let me get your sheets. Cause you can also, you've got more than just that one thing, um but you have to check your actual character sheets, which is the, I'll drop the link in here.
Speaker: um
Speaker: So when you level up, you can, Take a move from another playbook, someone permanently loses influence over you. um Which... you may have done that already.
Speaker: Yeah, I remove Pasha. is this your second level up? I think this is... maybe my third Okay, so you can't take the same thing over and over, so um down here in Advancements, we need to mark that that's what you put. I have Tasha removed, and then I think you put Not Influence by Max Senior plus one moving forward.
Speaker: Yeah. That might have been a temporary thing. Oh yeah, so you have leveled up once. Someone permanently loses influence influence over you. So, Hayden, real fast, real fast so you know your dad is evil because he you know he sold your soul.
Speaker: Pretty much. ah you know So do you... What exactly do you know about him? Do you know what he is what he what else he is? ah No, I do not. you don't know what he is. The soul was so sold.
Speaker: Alright. Then, Reese is going to also tell you the guy you used to work for is the supervillain in the underground. We did confirm the name like that be y'all said, right?
Speaker: What name? it was It was the Asomite. Oh, yeah, yeah. All right. ah I was taken in by an underground supervillain called the Asomite.
Speaker: Which, that wouldn't mean anything to Hayden. Yeah. And you wouldn't know the guy's real name. Yeah. So he he is going to say, if you hear, if anything you come across, if you hear anything about him in town, please let me know. All right.
Speaker: Yeah, so Frank, you you definitely did the mutate further, um and I believe I put it in your bio and info, because now you've got plant affinity, transmuting flesh, signature weapon, and impenetrable armor. So you gave yourself a weapon and armor.
Speaker: Ah, okay, cool. All
Speaker: right. I was just confused because I'm not seeing it on the character sheet itself. Yeah, it's I put it in the bio and info tab um because there wasn't a spot for it on the sheets.
Speaker: Unfortunately, these sheets aren't perfect. they're they're they're They're okay, but they're missing some stuff um for sure.
Speaker: Uh... Yeah, so while, I mean, Hayden, you can figure out your level up stuff while we continue forward. um So, yeah, that all happens. Like, yeah y'all had a side convo, and then Calix shows up, and um and I guess Ironsand never got the message.
Speaker: ah Or not Ironsand, Kevin never got the message. I keep thinking he's, because he's basically Iron Man, you know? Yeah. Yeah, Kevin never got the message.
Speaker: Or his suit acted up, or who knows. But the principal's like, oh, good, good, you're all here. um So i brought you here. This here is Dark Strike. Dark Strike's one one of your fellow students here at the school.
Speaker: um it's ah It's nice to see you two bonding over over you know your your ah your shared ordeals. and and um I'm glad that your team is working out. Great job but work at at the concert yesterday. You you are stopped a dangerous threat.
Speaker: And while there were some casualties, a lot of lives were saved. And and if you hadn't have been there, who knows what would have what would have happened. um so So I called you all here. We've we've got ah an assignment for you.
Speaker: This is a joint um assignment with with Aegis. um they are A lot of the heroes are, um well, let's just say they're busy.
Speaker: for for lack of a ah better um they're they're they're off uh fighting over in halcyon city uh helping with the problem there but um dark strike here she she works uh she's um uh silk shadow's protege you might have heard of silk shadow oh i love silk shadow how did you get to work with her wait Like the Silk Shadow?
Speaker: Yeah. Dude, she's so cool. she Yeah, I know. She's fucking pro as shit. She's like, i she she just kind of took me in and and has been showing me a few things.
Speaker: Bro, why is it always me getting fucked in the ass? and she Man, you know, one of the guys I used to work for, she busted him.
Speaker: Cool. yeah you know which one? She's pretty cool, I guess. um She seems to be like mumbling, not speaking clearly.
Speaker: Like she's shy or something, maybe. um She's being quiet and avoiding eye contact.
Speaker: And I go, dude, how is it working with her? like She's like... Like, personally, I'm, like, a huge fan. She, like, the way that she, like, infiltrates crime syndicates, dude, that's so dope.
Speaker: Did you know she can teleport through shadows? And I'm saying this to Ironsand. I'm, uh, I'm like, okay. Dude, just imagine how dope that is.
Speaker: no I don't have to imagine. I've seen it. I've seen it first hand. I fought her. She kicked my ass. ah got so like I got away, but shit. Dude.
Speaker: And I'd look at Darkstrike and like even with Even with my... say even Listen, even if I could break down metal around, it's that moving around. She changes the whole environment. Yeah, and she shoots webs and shit.
Speaker: But Rhys is going to turn over to Darkstrike, and he's going So if a hero like a hero like that recognizes you to recognizes you as someone to work with, you must be hardcore.
Speaker: Yeah, dude. Like, damn, you must be pretty good. um yeah i'm i I try. ah so Principal, we we've got a mission. Yeah.
Speaker: And he's like, oh, oh, yeah. And I look at Iron Sand, like, she tries bro. God. I love how this has bromance in such a short amount of She's like, yeah, so so we've ah we've had some ah reports of, well, it seems like some heroes and, well,
Speaker: and and and well not heroes, but just some powered individuals have, have, uh, turned up, up missing. Uh, it's been, it's been a couple, but, um, Silk Shadow and, uh, and, and Nightstrike here have been, have been looking into it, but, uh, with, uh, with the other, um, heroes in the city, busy over, uh, in Halcyon, um, we, uh,
Speaker: we decided to bring in some one of our you know most successful student teams here um to help out. ah and And I look at Darkstrike and I go, don't worry, that he called you Nightstrike. He sometimes calls me Cyper sometimes, I don't know why Yeah, i um I think originally I meant her name to be Nightstrike, actually.
Speaker: No, I think it's funny that the principal is kind of like that dad who can never get his kid's name straight like my dad. Yeah. He he goes down the list. No, yeah, yeah, yeah. Like, that whole time, my whole life growing up, my mom never once, very frequently, got my name right on the first try.
Speaker: Yeah.
Speaker: Uh... Yeah, so we're going after missing powered individuals. Yeah, so there have been a number of ah people turning up up missing, well, a couple of, three total, right?
Speaker: And she nods, three that we know of.
Speaker: And i'm I'm working on their names right now, because I thought I had their names, but I don't, so... Uh, Rhys is gonna turn to- uh, Frank, your hero is Kalyx? Yes.
Speaker: Okay, Rhys is gonna turn over to Kalyx and be like, so what's your take on all this? What do you think's going on? Uh... I wasn't paying attention.
Speaker: Of course the tree doesn't pay attention. So you're just gonna, so what, you're just gonna call us around? Out of character, I was trying to figure out how to add my abilities to the playbook, like the character sheet, and I'm googling see if there's a way to do it, and yeah, so.
Speaker: i I lost track. I just hit the thing and add whatever modifier it says is us on the character sheet. Yeah, I go to active moves. That's where I would add it.
Speaker: Well, it it's, they aren't active moves. What are you looking for? I just want to add, and like, my abilities, just my, like, Planet Infinity Transmutation, Signature World, so I'll forget about it. I mean, if you click on the bio and info tab, it's the first thing on there.
Speaker: I know, and I just, I want things to be easy, and to be easy, I can just add it to the playbook, but there's not an easy way to do that, as far as can tell. Yeah. I wish there was a slot for that stuff.
Speaker: I'm going take regeneration. You can over to abilities and attributes and you can be like, here's the thing. And I add the roll the and yeah, well, it didn't roll.
Speaker: I guess have to click this to roll it.
Speaker: I don't know. I'm still working on it.
Speaker: Oh, that's how you do it.
Speaker: Okay. Yeah, I'm not gonna fuck with Anyways. Yeah, totally down to do the thing that you just said. Yep.
Speaker: I took a regeneration from... Shit.
Speaker: Ooh, I love this ability. Yeah. Because I think it totally plays into my shit.
Speaker: Why would you play with your shit? when you're taken out you can trigger an emergency regeneration process if you do your body undergoes an unpredictable transformation in mere moments you're back on your feet and ready to fight clear three conditions and choose three from the list below change your gender identity or presentation change your physical appearance forget all your lessons lose an important memory of a teammate and they lose influence over you or swap an ability with another one from ah newborn playbook
Speaker: That, that's so, that'll be interesting if that ever pops up. What is this? Go away. Go, what? Okay. Um.
Speaker: And so the the principal, um you know, he or actually Night Strike takes out a a like a folder, you know, a manila folder with some files in it.
Speaker: And you see um I'm not getting pictures for these three people, but these are they're adults. um There is a. woman named ember flicker um also well that's her quote-unquote hero name ah she has the power to generate small so small sparks of flames from her finger tips but she doesn't possess like full-on pyrokinesis type powers.
Speaker: Her real name is Maya Rodriguez. There's another one, Alex Chin, C-H-E-N. He has limited telepathy powers. come and ah And then um Tyler Johnson, also known as Gravity Drift, ah who um can manipulate his own gravitational field, allowing him to reduce his weight and float effort effortly effortlessly off the ground.
Speaker: They're all very minor-powered people, um like none that so they're not like full-on human or superheroes. um Ember Flicker,
Speaker: ah she um she has a quote-unquote hero name, but, you know, is not known for for real heroing. And they these are all adults.
Speaker: They're not not students at the school or anything. in their mid-20s.
Speaker: Okay, so they're just a bunch of really genuinely just powered individuals or just like a bottom of the barrel maybe might be hero kind of powered. Just individuals with, you know, not even mid-tier. Like, well, maybe the gravity guy is mid-tier.
Speaker: You know, he can basically fly. um but low-tier superhero or low-tier powered individuals yeah oh yeah my uh i apologize uh when i said low tier i kind of meant more like if there was a ranking system they probably would either wouldn't by ability or just by not caring probably wouldn't be ranked very high no yeah
Speaker: Okay, so um as far as like my character, the impenetrable armor, um I updated my character's picture. Okay. Now he looks like that.
Speaker: Whatever he's wearing is his is superhero costume. Is that public? ah You should be able see it, yeah. Oh, God, Frank, that's cool.
Speaker: I was torn between... the shield and everything yep Like a night paladin made of nature? Pretty much.
Speaker: I like the low-key mask look at me.
Speaker: I was torn between that and this one.
Speaker: It's on Discord. No, you picked the better ah the better one. the line of motion on the picture you chose is way better. Yeah. Anyways, sorry. I hate interrupt.
Speaker: Um... The, uh... I look at Darkstruck and go, this is why you were chosen. You brought a Manila Fuller... What?
Speaker: This bitch is professional Bro! I thought I was pretty cool.
Speaker: So, um, sorry to interrupt one more time. ah My new, like, superhero, like, transportation transformation is me turning... Doing what? So, that's my that's my superhero persona now, is with the armor.
Speaker: Okay. Dope.
Speaker: So if I see you without the armor, I think you're just some other random tree man? yeah Well, no you you've all seen me without the armor. But I'm just saying, my superhero transportation... So, you're... Out of curiosity, all the rest of the time, are you just, like, some bikus that's out in, like, the main square of like, the the high school courtyard or something?
Speaker: No, I look like this. Yeah, are you mingling with the plants out there? Minus the sword and shield. Okay. So, but either way, pretty obvious that we'd be able to be like,
Speaker: Yeah, I'm pretty sure. Pretty sure I saw that. Yep. But, I mean, it's my own crystal. Hey, Kalex, stop pollinating with the other plants.
Speaker: Frank, I want you to know something, that you are a sexy beast and I love you for your brain. try.
Speaker: and Okay. thanks Anyways, so we're trying to go help people do a thing. Yeah, let's do the thing. Three people are missing. um She's given you... ah She's pulled out some dossiers on each of them, which I am reviewing what, you know, good old ChatGPT has created for me real quick.
Speaker: and i And I look at the paper, i'm like, dude, this is made out of cardstock, just not regular printer paper. God! but Yeah! She's so prepared. i hate to be that guy, but aren't we missing someone?
Speaker: Yeah, we're missing Jaden.
Speaker: No, I'm an indie character. yeah Yeah, we're we're missing Kevin.
Speaker: Hey, Kalix, you always hang out with Kevin, right? I pull out this old, like, Nokia... Fuck, 7600? Oh, where the hell did you get that thing?
Speaker: And I text him. I'm doing the whole, you know, H33 number, or three number text bullshit. Oh, God. Type to text?
Speaker: Yeah. Sorry, tap to text. Sorry. Oh. So. God. Hayden, are you, do you remember that? are you Were you old enough? Yeah, I remember that shit. Hit a button three times they hit to hit the C? Oh, yeah. Yeah.
Speaker: I'm 27, but I had a lot of hand-me-downs, so.
Speaker: So I'm like 4, 4, 3, 3, 9, 9, 9, 0.
Speaker: Reese
Speaker: going look at you, and he's going to be like, do you do villain work? The last person I saw used that thing was using it to set off c four
Speaker: i I have a hard time keeping these things from not breaking, so I had to go with something that was mostly indestructible. I was surprised to get one with a a cell carrier, but, you know, in this world that we live in, there's all sorts of fun things. so Reese is going to look down at the ground and look back up at you and be like,
Speaker: You know, actually what's funny is that same guy that used the phone to detonate the C4, we found it later and we were actually still able to use the phone. that They are indestructible. You have a good point.
Speaker: So these are the dossiers on the three heroes. yeah And she says um ah ah but ah Maya Rodriguez was the the most recent one to go missing.
Speaker: um actually These are adult heroes. These aren't teenage heroes. These are adults. Ignore the hero names on the other two. They're not really heroes. She gives herself a hero name, but the other two don't.
Speaker: and we don't We don't know the name? No, they're not heroes. that These are just powered individuals. Ah. um yeah But ah Ember Flicker, she's got like a little bit of a YouTube um presence. That's sort like her YouTube name.
Speaker: where i want to hire a I want to hire a private investigator to follow her because she's sounding like one of those people that sets fire so she can be the hero to put it out.
Speaker: Well, she's missing... All three of these people have gone missing. um The most recent being her. Oh god, there's a telepath in here too. I'm sorry. I am very fucking sorry, but telepaths are a special kind of, you know, you gotta to be careful around them. hey So, I imagine I'm not using... Darkstrike, I hate to interrupt your whole like debriefing, but do you know what?
Speaker: Well, I guess it's it's part of the debriefing. What what connects these these individuals? like From just the yeah just looking at them, there's literally, besides them not being the greatest power wielders, they're not really matching.
Speaker: So she um like, glances up at you and then, quickly averts her eyes and, uh, says, um I'm not, I'm not entirely sure.
Speaker: ah
Speaker: this is This is what I could get. so So Silk Shadow, you know, she could probably tell us everything we need to know, but she's she's often fighting in Halcyon City too, so this is what I was able to use on the find on the computer on them.
Speaker: um They don't, as far as I can tell, none of them know each other. ah they they are They've all gone missing in the past.
Speaker: in the past month or so uh maya was uh two days ago um and i i uh i contacted silk shadow she said let but mr powers know and and that's that's why we're here um i was gonna reese is going to reese wanted to ask where did they go miss were where were they when they went missing Um, so Maya was last seen, well, actually I haven't gotten to interview people yet.
Speaker: Um, but from what I can tell, Maya reported to work, uh, and she did clock out the day that she, um, Well, but that that was the last she she was seen two days ago.
Speaker: um Alex, his office um reported him missing about two weeks ago. um And they said he hadn't been into work for a few days.
Speaker: And then ah Tyler, um similar story, but it was his family that his his ah wife reported him you know missing.
Speaker: So, like, they they all seem to just never come home. So, either... probably I'm guessing on the way home from work.
Speaker: Well, I guess what we can do is...
Speaker: find We know where they work, right? it can What we could do is go to the police stations and watch the security cameras and find out exactly when they went missing between their work and their house.
Speaker: Because this place is recorded like, I mean, our cities just has cameras everywhere because, know, it's superhero city. yeah Yeah. You are right. There are cameras everywhere. There should be some kind of a trail to follow.
Speaker: i feel like i I need to try to roll, like, assess the situation. so I feel like that would... Not not me personally, but like somebody. ah How do you... see.
Speaker: Roll plus superior. You're the one wanting to roll. ah Superior. I am not very superior. Neither am i That is a hit, so you get to ask um one of them.
Speaker: One of those questions. um Hold on. have to pull up the the playbook or the move list. ah it's It's there on the map.
Speaker: Is it? Yeah. oh That would make life easier. um there's talk to right where What here can I use to... What here is the biggest threat? What here is the big greatest... ah Who here is most vulnerable to me?
Speaker: al best in this um i've but how How could we best this quickly? this quickly? What here's the biggest threat? And by that, i mean, like, who is, like, threatened the most?
Speaker: Whichever of those two things you think will work. I will answer question when I want to come back. I think how quickly is probably the better question. and Because I don't understand how what here's in the greatest danger makes the... like Instead of what, who who here is the biggest threat? Like, who is being threatened?
Speaker: I mean, they're they're all missing, so they're logically I think they're all... Or or like, and who here is in the greatest danger? Instead of what here is the greatest danger? Yeah, but like there's they're all they're all missing.
Speaker: Tyler and Alex... Alright, fine. How can we best in this quickly? I'll go with how can we best in this quickly. I think that would be best. Yeah.
Speaker: So real quick, what other questions should we ask? So i just asked so you know we just asked um where were they when they disappeared? Where were they last seen? What else should we ask? Aside from aside from what Frank's doing but best to best end this, we should try to... We've been doing this for... We've been, you know, not professional heroes, but like...
Speaker: part-time heroes for a minute. we've we've We've done... We should know some good questions here. um
Speaker: Where were they last seen? Has anybody talked to anybody that they know? Have there been any interviews with anybody about the disappearances?
Speaker: I'll be on the one. Darkstrike said she hasn't She hasn't interviewed anyone yet, so I think we're starting at bare minimum. We're starting at, like, this is literally all we got.
Speaker: Shit. so we got a lot We got a lot of ground to cover. It's a good thing we got it's good thing we got it on the team. We can split this up. Yeah, what we should do is... Calix and Iron Sand, you two should go out and...
Speaker: interview the bosses well dark strike and i go to the police station and start watching the cameras of those locations between their jobs do we think i am the best person to be interviewing people i'm a giant plant man uh given the fact of the nokia phone and everything and the fact that you're a walk that you're a walking wisteria plant with a sword and a shield and a full-on cape and everything, and basically being the paladin of nature itself, I think you would be better off the going and presenting yourself as the hero instead of the one not instead of the one stuck in ah stuck in a room.
Speaker: true but yeah
Speaker: Listen, dude, you're a... I'm just not a front man, okay? With your appearance, you're a public hero. That's what we call the heroes that we absolutely want to see out doing shit. That's where you belong, not in a dark, dingy room.
Speaker: I don't do well in the dark anyways. I bet. did you Come on, let's go let's go let's go do this, and I'll buy you a bag of fertilizer. How's that sound?
Speaker: Uh... Is it the premium stuff or is it that low-grade shit like last time? I swear to Christ, i will go to i will go to a company and buy you a yard of goddamn compost.
Speaker: i Deal. Okay. 50 bucks well spent. Sorry about that. No, you're good. We actually all basically came up with our whole game plan and everything. ok ah In character, by the way. Nice. Syphon is going to go with Darkstrike to go to the police station to look up camera footage and try to see where they were where everyone was when they were... Like, the last known place where they were missing.
Speaker: Okay. And me and Calix are going to be posting around trying to see if anybody spoke to these... going to their job sites. Yeah, if if anybody if anybody had seen her, witness reports, you know, we're going to be casing the ground while he's checking for last known locations.
Speaker: Doing a good old supernatural contact in the family and making very awkward conversations. Sounds good. Should we start from the top? Should we start from the top and hit the fire? Wait, do you want to answer the my question?
Speaker: Yeah. I'm going with how could we best in this quickly? I feel like it's a good question there. um No, yeah, that's the best question to ask it for the options you've got.
Speaker: So how can we best end this quickly, find who's doing the kidnapping, and stop them? ah a Good one, Ron. i Don't do that to us. Come on. ah The answer doesn't have to be useful. It just has to be honest. Unfortunately, it's too early to get a um this is the answer answer. You know oh okay you want me?
Speaker: all right um This is our first big case together, y'all. This is pro shit. And I guess I look at Darkstrike, I'm like, Darkstrike. Wait, do I know how my portal works?
Speaker: This is a new ability for you. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So, remember when we talked about me potentially teleporting? Like, if I were to teleport with someone, they might potentially get fucked up?
Speaker: Yes. Is that is that like a legit thing, or is that just like something that we didn't go with? um im That is something that I may make happen, yes. Damn it. So go with Darkstrike and see what happens.
Speaker: I don't want fucking teleport with her because that would be fucking potentially a mess. bo and Now it's just all an accident.
Speaker: would i What would I roll for? I thought that that was... What would I even roll to teleport and see if that happens? You could just oldest drive, fly, walk... fly what
Speaker: Uber.
Speaker: don't Isn't there like a bus? Like like ah a hero bus we can take?
Speaker: um There was a bus that took you to
Speaker: that one, that you're very that first mission we did um in session one. but we're still But that was because they knew where they needed to take you and stuff like that.
Speaker: Is the principal still in the room? The principal's in the room, yeah. Mr. Principal, ah would you mind too terribly providing us transportation locations desire?
Speaker: Okay, I can get you up passes on the Houston transit system. I just look at you and then look down at myself all like seven
Speaker: Oh, I see what you mean. ah Yeah, let me get let me ah get in contact with one of our Aegis drivers, and he he'll he'll get you where you need to go. Yeah, Rhys is going to be looking directly up at Calix, and he'll be like, yeah, do that.
Speaker: Alright, so... um
Speaker: You guys are going to head your separate ways. Doesn't Reese and Max both own vehicles? I mean, granted, your vehicle wouldn't be enough for Calix to be in.
Speaker: Yeah. Actually, I don't actually own my own vehicle, but I was able to get the concert by borrowing one from my boss. Aren't you your own vehicle?
Speaker: Like, if you tried hard enough? ah Actually, yes, I am, but
Speaker: Actually, that's a great that's a great-ass point. I can literally just take us to where we need to go. and i don't have any metal on me, though. I'm all wood. I'm like a ah fucking D&D druid. No, it's fine. i can I can just surround you in my sand and just carry you.
Speaker: um Well, i already asked I already asked for a car. Oh, it's fine. We don't need a car. Hey, Principal, cancel the car.
Speaker: He's on the phone. here Okay, never mind. Cancel that. and Don't worry. I'll carry you, bro. Alright, just don't drop me. Let's go!
Speaker: we it would just go out the window. but i assume there's a window. The window doesn't open, but it's on the second story, but we went out anyways. We go outside and I'm like, okay, keep everything important as close to you as possible. Okay?
Speaker: Alright. Please keep all...
Speaker: Go ahead. No, that's okay. It's good. No, no, go, go. I'm just going to do the whole, like, flight attendant, like, please keep all valuables, you know, in your position for the full flight and, you know, fasten all safety harnesses and da-da-da-da-da. You end up fully surrounded by a bunch of black met black sand all around you, and it just kind of forms directly to your out to, like, the outside of your body other than, like, your... It stops at, like, your shoulders, like...
Speaker: And you just start floating away. And we just start flying, and we're off. Rhys, can you pull it back out of the cracks? That's not supposed to go inside there.
Speaker: My bad.
Speaker: i'm I'm kind of hollow, so... Semi-hollow. Not completely hollow, but... Alright, give me one moment. ah And it kind of forms it to kind of be more like a big-ass bar.
Speaker: It's kind of all the sand compresses into a bar just around you, like one big bar of metal that's just flying around. i hope that's better. oh yeah, that's great.
Speaker: It was a little tickly, and I think you might have touched my lung. But yeah, we're good now.
Speaker: Touched your lung, huh?
Speaker: I assume, since I'm a plant person, I'm not like a just a trunk. Yeah. I am like the image. i' am like vines and hard hardened wood. Oh, yeah. But um I'm, you know, I don't have like a like an exoskeleton or like a skin.
Speaker: But I'm also like impenetrable armor, so. I got cracks and crevices things and kind of squeam into... All right, so and y'all are going to the scenes, that they're their places of business where they worked?
Speaker: Who are we going to first? Should we go to Flickr? He's the most recent, so I'd imagine that's the best. Yeah, let's go ahead and go to his first. And then we'll we'll go in order of how they present on the dossier.
Speaker: Perfect. All right. We're off to Ember Flicker. All right. yeah and And I'm like, we, and then we cut to a scene at this metal encased plant thing. And another person just kind of flying through the sky.
Speaker: Yeah. We're all, and No, we actually fast-forward to a scene where we have this guy this poor guy in a room. He's sitting in a chair. He doesn't know why. There's a lamp in the corner aimed directly at him.
Speaker: Reese is there with his sunglasses on a cigarette in his mouth. Don't ask questions. He's like, all right, you son of a bitch. When was the last time you saw... and I'm sitting directly in front of him. My sword, like, shoved into the ground just...
Speaker: so I don't know. she was She was... Look, man, I'm just a firefighter. I just put out fires. You tell us what we all want know or my friend is going to show you what that sword really does. You're going to have to ask the chief. I don't know.
Speaker: yeah I hope not. You just assaulted a fireman. i was like i'm yeah of a you got You're going to tell me how many of those fires you I didn't start none of them.
Speaker: Uh-huh. Calix, show them what your sword does. i I stand up and like step forward, drawing it out as towards him.
Speaker: And then if this was this would if this was an actual comic, or or no, if this was the cartoon, um we we zoom out of the the little like dream bubbles as Calix has been snoozing during this flight, and you guys land outside the fire station.
Speaker: All of sudden, Reese like slaps, like, sorry, Iron Sand at this point, ah just is tapping you on the cheek. Hey, wake up, bud. We're here. but Hey, buddy. Oh, okay. Okay. yeah got we're good We're here. We're here. We're here.
Speaker: You dozed off. You feeling good? Oh, God, that's the best sleep I've had in a day. but So you sleep on long flights, huh? ah Long flights, car trips. I can't get into cars as much as I used to. and ah Fast forward, we're knocking on the the office door the chief.
Speaker: Yeah, and the chief's like, what do you want? Come in. Who the hell are you? Do go let me go ahead and handle this before we so oh before we send the monster in.
Speaker: Hey, Chief, how's going? yeah Trust me, you're going to be important, but I don't know if you're the if you're the tool to use here. I'll be the quiet, silent type one. All right, I'll just stay in the corner. right, and go.
Speaker: We walk in. I'm just like, clomp, clomp, clomp, off to the side, and then Reese comes in behind me. just stand there menacingly. The Chief eyes you two up and down. It's like, like oh, a couple right how menacing are you being Um, about that menacing.
Speaker: and No, I'm like, like, shield's in front of me, uh, or, I put the shield down, put the sword front of it, and... Hang on.
Speaker: I apparently need to help Kelsey with something else, because something weird's going on. Be right back. Alright. I'm like, two-handing the sword, and I'm kind of like, gripping it, but because my, you know, I'm not flesh, so I can make weird...
Speaker: And so it sounds like it's like... Huh? I was saying that you're doing exactly what I was hoping you were going to do. like yes! He is like a potted plant, but he's like, how do you make a potted plant intimidating?
Speaker: Give it a sword?
Speaker: and like, running my hands back and forth across the blade and just kind of like, flexing my finger. doing it over and over just slowly and methodically. And it's a very chilling, like, bone kind of jeering noise.
Speaker: Yeah, this this game has so many good opportunities for RP. It's perfect it's such a great game.
Speaker: Alright, so you guys are at the fire station and you knock on the door... And the chief eyes the two of you upside down and says, oh, a couple of suits. What what do you guys need? Who's upside down?
Speaker: Eyes you up and down. Oh, thought you said eyes you upside down. Yeah, like I'm sorry. I thought you said upside down, too. i was like, what? Is he standing on the ceiling? Are you a bat person? No, i would ah I'd imagine he's like on the you know, the the pole, but he's just like upside down on it, just like clinging on it.
Speaker: Are you one of these people that's vertically challenged?
Speaker: yeah Sorry. I made problem. Reese going to turn to him. Hey, we're looking for information on one Ember Flicker.
Speaker: Ember Flick. Oh, you mean Maya.
Speaker: Yeah. ah Yeah, I haven't seen her in a few days. ah What? When was the last day you saw her? Tuesday. Tuesday.
Speaker: what Like, specifically, when was the specific last time you saw her? What happened? What did she say? Did she say she was going to go anywhere? Did she say she was going to meet anybody? she's given the play he um he He does some typing on the computer. Let's see. So Maya, she she came in to for for work on Tuesday.
Speaker: It's Friday now. um and Did she come in on Tuesday or did but she leave on Tuesday? Because as we all know, firefighter schedules are bit odd.
Speaker: Yeah, they were three days on and three days off. So was that of three days? That was her last day of work, yeah, the end of her shift. ah And yeah, she... There are a couple of fires that she you know went out and helped put out.
Speaker: um Nothing too crazy. There was... She... i remember seeing her talking to some guy for a little while before... before that That's the only thing.
Speaker: he didn't work here. He was some some sort of salesman or something, but she was talking to him. i was i was busy, so she said she'd take care of it. is it someone Is it someone you've seen before? Where is he at?
Speaker: Is he near normal distributor? No, he's just some guy who showed up. He wanted to talk to talk to someone about, um I don't know, some some sort of sale, some sort of opportunity or something like that. and you know I didn't feel like dealing with him, and Maya volunteered to go talk to the guy.
Speaker: i i did there vaguely remember that. Did he leave you a leaflet, a pamphlet, any information? He digs around on his desk. He's like, no, I don't see anything.
Speaker: Where's her locker at? did she Did she talk to him and then immediately... No, no, that's... It was a couple hours probably before her shift ended.
Speaker: Where's her locker located at? We're gonna need... Yeah. um I don't know about letting you rifle through her locker, ah and this is where one of you will need to roll provoke someone.
Speaker: um So roll plus superior. I'm not very superior. Are you very superior? I am zero superior. What's your modifier in it?
Speaker: Let me see. Okay, I'm currently at a zero on that, but I'm assuming there's a zero better than what you've got? also have a zero.
Speaker: Alright, so whichever one of you roll, you state what you are trying to get them to do before you roll. think i think i think frank Frank decided... I think Frank's gonna go ahead and take this superiority roll.
Speaker: What exactly are you trying to get them to do? I'm trying to pull up the main page so I can see what the... My thing's being stupid. Uh, provoke someone. When you provoke... Subset the points here.
Speaker: Say what you're trying to do roll plus superior for... raise the bait and do what you want. and take but against I guess what you were trying to do is get her to get them to show you her locker.
Speaker: don't do it then we' Yes, and um I do that. Okay, so let's see on a seven, don and on a 10 plus both. um So they do it, you add oh add a team to the pool, so here's an extra team.
Speaker: ah There's three of those. um if So, I need to do something to provoke this person female person. No, you're just, basically it's like a persuasion check.
Speaker: um Okay. ah He says, oh, we don't we don't we we don't need anyone like that. I got it. we We all share the same locker room, and he takes you in. and And there's there's nobody, like, he's he's like, guys, you know, he's like, these are this these ah kids need to to check ah Maya's locker, and people are like, you know, they they you know head off into the break room or whatever. Yeah.
Speaker: He just takes you in there. There is nobody in compromising positions or anything. Real real quick, i want to I want to see if anybody reacts oddly going to rifle through her things. i
Speaker: Superior as well. I'm just seeing. mundanely It'd probably be... a i mean Normally that would be assessed the situation, but I don't know if that role... really applies.
Speaker: There's not like just a ah notice something real quick. um Nobody reacts strangely other than like it's more like curiosity from several people, you know, because anyone's always curious when heroes are getting involved in stuff.
Speaker: But I wouldn't say anyone's looking suspicious now. Nothing out of the ordinary. Alright. Yeah, he takes you over to her locker, pops it open. i don't know what would be in a firefighter who's not there's locker, but you know probably some bottle of water. Change of clothes. A change, yeah, change a change of clothes. Deodorant.
Speaker: um Things like that. Yeah, probably her boot her probably her boots, her helmet, her jacket. ah You know, the important stuff she's going to do whenever she's going out. That might actually be in like a communal like jacket and stuff.
Speaker: Yeah, I think those are usually like hanging on the wall or whatever. But ah you don't actually find anything too interesting in there.
Speaker: Okay, so no like business card notes? Nothing like that? Nope. okay Did the guy that she spoke to, did he give a did he give a name at all?
Speaker: I never talked to them. I just was like, you know, she she, look, we get people coming in here trying to sell us, you know, or or get us for interviews and all sort of stuff. I don't like dealing with it. that the They all know, you know, someone always volunteers to deal with that stuff. And if it's something important, they usually bring it to me. You know, if it's something i they think I actually want to hear about.
Speaker: So I would have just assumed there was nothing to it. do have cameras around this place that might have caught the of that person?
Speaker: Uh, yeah, we we've got we've got cameras for sure. i don't know... um
Speaker: yeah not not too sure about letting you two look. I mean, do you two, are you working with the police are you just vigilante? You know, that's an invasion of privacy.
Speaker: We've been directly approached by the mayor of the city wondering why some so why his citizens are disappearing, especially ah highly public citizens like one Ember Flicker, who is also a public firefighter.
Speaker: And he, I guess this would be another provoke. Reese is going to show his, like, you know, his license to be like, yo, that's why.
Speaker: This would be I think. Yeah. yo
Speaker: that's why this this would be another provoke i think um all right All right. Well, that's happening. Since I went ahead and now and did the stuff, I'll go ahead and roll this one.
Speaker: So while that's happening, do we want to jump over to... a So you gain experience? Yeah. ah like Look, I want to help you kids out, but I can't show you our security fit footage without um at least speaking to the legal team first.
Speaker: ah Listen. it's it's it's not It's not that I don't want to help you. It's – you know how it is. There's red tape and all of that. and and you know Listen, and i also know you know how to I also know that you know how to get around get around the red tape. let okay every every hour every hour that this person is missing is is critical, okay? So whatever you got to do give ah to allow us access – And then, yeah, at this point we switch over to um Siphon Nightstrike, Darkstrike, what was it? Darkstrike.
Speaker: Darkstrike, Darkstrike. Yeah, and you guys were going to the police station? Yeah, the the one that's best between um either Maya Rodriguez and her house, or just like... Just the near nearest one to that area?
Speaker: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. um You guys go there. i What are you rolling, bro? Are you just testing out rolls or something? Yeah.
Speaker: He rolled a 6, and I'm like, i wonder i wonder if i will also roll, and then I rolled a 6. I'm like, oh, okay. then I rolled a 12. I'm like, okay, clearly it's not that. Yeah. ah Okay, so you guys um get to the police station.
Speaker: And one thing I will point out, um she is pretty quiet. Are you guys driving? How are you getting there? ah Yeah, we take my car.
Speaker: Okay. um She's pretty quiet. chi she She will, you know, speak when spoken to sort of thing. um Ow. ah But doesn't really, like, speak up herself.
Speaker: I say, Darkstrike. I like just driving on the way there. I'm like, what team are you originally a part of? You apparently go to our school. oh I'm part of B team.
Speaker: Oh, God. but Sorry. Go ahead. Oh. baby big burn it there i'm more I'm usually more of a solo ah solo act.
Speaker: So did you get told to meet up with us or like what's the, when did you join up with us? The principal powers, he, he said, you guys should, that I should work with you.
Speaker: Do you think that's because we need extra training or because you need to socialize? sit She, um that's me laughing. she um
Speaker: She takes a moment and she's like, ah maybe a little of both. um I don't know. And yeah, she she's she's real dodgy. Like she doesn't want to answer a lot of questions.
Speaker: I guess I'm going to do Pierce the Mask and just see if she's awkward or if she's, like, potentially not saying a lot of things. yeah
Speaker: So that is mundane.
Speaker: That is a hit. So you get to ask three questions.
Speaker: And this is Pierce the Mask.
Speaker: you the planning what
Speaker: Huh.
Speaker: I guess, what are you really planning? But i thought that's really close as to what do you intend to do. That's pretty much the same question, my opinion. and True, yeah.
Speaker: And if nothing, they're... um is perfect. Satisfies. Yeah, make up a question, but what are you really planning? um And then how can I get your character to... Well, I guess that depends on the first question.
Speaker: What is she really planning? um She is really planning to find out what has happened to these missing people and stop whatever, you know, is causing this to happen.
Speaker: You don't get any vibes that that she does not want to help these people.
Speaker: And then how can I gain influence over you? You already have influence over this person. I do? Oh, shit. And now that you know that, you can go ahead and add it.
Speaker: Add Darkstrike.
Speaker: Stop influencing people. You're a bad influence.
Speaker: And then...
Speaker: If none of those questions are good, I'll give you for the third um tidbit of information. This person with a full hit, um this person is seems like as you look at her, um you know, steel glances and stuff, ah you can't put your finger on it, but she seems really familiar.
Speaker: Like you've seen her before. it Like, i think he know her eyes look familiar. um She is wearing one of those, like, masks that cover the mouth and face and stuff.
Speaker: I think Hayden knows, so does that mean Syphon can know? What does Syphon think it is?
Speaker: Veronica? Um, the hair color is wrong. Uh... This person's all in black, including her hair. then Then it has to be Tasha.
Speaker: Uh, but the hair... Yes? What? Oh, sorry. I had a thing pop up saying, you're disconnected from the call. Sorry.
Speaker: Uh... Let me look at that real quick.
Speaker: But they're already an NPC, right? Yeah, it's still recording. It's just... okay I dropped for some reason.
Speaker: I'm back now. So, okay. All right. all right um
Speaker: So you she looks similar to Veronica. Hair color is different. Hair length matches, but style is different. um ah Eyes, I don't know how much he's looked into this friend of Tasha's eyes, but eyes seem familiar, those sort of things. i mean, we share drink together.
Speaker: Voice, she's trying not to speak much.
Speaker: Okay, so I get to know.
Speaker: um She's very familiar. Yeah, and I go, don't... I know' i and need to respect it. Sorry. I feel like I know you.
Speaker: ah She definitely shifts awkwardly at that, and she's like, Hey, you don't you don't have to tell me. Don't have to say anything. It's just
Speaker: like look If you know me, i know you. we can My identity is it's it's secret for a reason.
Speaker: Secret as in like, I'll be in danger secret. or If you know me, i wouldn't con confirm or deny that.
Speaker: Take it off.
Speaker: I go, alright, um, well, this is, sorry, I have to move things around my screen. love And then you guys right pull up to the police station, and she's like, we're here, and gets out of the car, like, you know, far quicker than necessary.
Speaker: Darkstrike, calm down. And I, you know, join her at the the police doors. Like, have you been here before?
Speaker: This station? No. Not this station. I've been to the police station plenty of times. The the the the big one in downtown. I assume there's a big one in downtown. This a superhero world.
Speaker: I've only been to the police station once and that was when an unfortunate accident happened.
Speaker: Oh yeah, shit your pants in like third grade, huh? No, remember... Do you remember... You know the judge... do you remember you remember you know the judge Yes.
Speaker: yeah Oh, he knows what to me. Yeah, I'm not talking to you. You're not here. And I go, well, he kind of hates our team. Because, you know his sidekick, the gavel boy? okay i think it was just the gavel, not the gavel boy. He was the gavel, but... I forget, did the gavel the gavel died, right? or it was Yes. Yeah, Yeah.
Speaker: we killed him oh yeah Well, we didn't kill him, but he did end up it was It was in a tragic accident that the gavel did not move fast enough and was stupid enough to get caught in crosshairs.
Speaker: Yeah. I mean, I'm just saying, if you get taken out by some teenage adventurers, that's kind of of on you, bro.
Speaker: She, um... ah She's like, yeah, i I think I remember hearing about that. um That sucks.
Speaker: Let's go find out about these people.
Speaker: I want that to be Siphon's actual reaction, too. She's like, changing the subject, that sucks.
Speaker: and And so you guys enter the police station and there's a front desk that's... Yeah, I look at the front desk and they're like... There's a bored cop behind it and it's like, you know, this guy's wearing a police uniform, but he's just sitting behind a desk. Like, is he really a cop?
Speaker: and It's like... And I look at Darkstrike and I'm like, whale you're Mrs.
Speaker: fucking dope. I mean, you you're the one that works out works with a professional um superheroes. Want to show me how you handle this?
Speaker: and she's my own way. She walks on up and says, uh, uh, and the officer look, you know, um, looks up and says, how, how can I help you? And she's like, we were, we were wanting to, uh, uh, check some CCTV, uh, footage, um, on, and she lists off the, the, uh, you know, general dates that they think, um, you know, these people went missing, uh,
Speaker: And the cop, um he starts to, ah like, what what would you call it? He starts to, you know, say, oh, well oh I can't just show you that footage. And then she, like, um slides him this ah this this card.
Speaker: um He looks at it and he's like, oh ah Yeah, sure. And he hands it back to her and she she pockets it. Can I see what the card was? ah it's some sort it's got some well It's got Silk Shadows logo on it, whatever that may be.
Speaker: Dope. And it's like, yeah, right this way. ah so So you work with the you work for the... the um Quick, what's the name for the top superhero team in town?
Speaker: The establishment. The golden trio. you So you work for the the golden the the the golden trio, huh? And she's like, she's like i work I work with them. You know, that that sort of... They say you work for, but they're like, I work with them.
Speaker: And he's like, right, right, yeah, right this way. um ah And she's like, Darkstrike. And this is Siphon. Right, yeah. And he leads you guys over to a computer. It's like, so so what what exactly are you looking for?
Speaker: We're looking for within, I guess we have like the addresses of where she works and where she lives. um And I say, we're looking for street cameras that are in between these two addresses, of this lady, Ember Flicker, and her codename, Ember Flicker, went missing a couple days ago, and we're trying to find out potentially what happened.
Speaker: Yeah, and Darkstrike shows, like, the dossier dossier and and, like, with the picture of the person, and and he's like, alright, this may take a little bit, pull up at some seats and and get comfortable, and, you know,
Speaker: basically I'll start fast forwarding through, um footage from, from that day. Uh, and, um, let's see, because it would be mean not to, um, well, uh, I guess do, um, to do a superior role, basically assess the situation, but, uh,
Speaker: This will be a roll to see how good you are at spotting footage. You spot nothing. um She, however, ah so you guys are scrolling through and then she's like, wait, there she is. You know, this is after a while.
Speaker: And the cameras show her exiting the building. It's about probably like, I don't know, um... I guess she worked the day shift because, yeah, and so she's getting off.
Speaker: She's getting off. It's like 7 p.m. do You see her exiting the building. She's walking off down the street, turns, you know, turns at a street. The cop fiddles around, finds the camera for that. Basically you watch her walk, you know, for a while.
Speaker: um Seems like maybe she's gonna walk home. ah and And then she does eventually turn down like a side road and it's like, he looks around for a while and it's like, hmm.
Speaker: No cameras on this street. ah Let's see if there's any on the other side. And he flips. He eventually... Here's the next nearest camera. kind of gets a view of the crosswalk over there. and And y'all are watching for a minute and she's not reappearing.
Speaker: And he's he he fast forwards for a bit and, you know, it's like, huh. rewinds, fat checks the other camera, sees if she comes back came back out the way she came in She doesn't on that side either. Is this lady fly or anything? what What do you know about her?
Speaker: and ah She just kind of makes little sparky fingers. Well, either she went inside something down this this street here, or don't know. Oh, Darkstrike. Do you know what would be so cool?
Speaker: If it was like in those like reality TV shows where they go down in the in the sewers. Oh, man. I don't want to go in the sewers.
Speaker: Yeah, that would get your cape all dirty. She's wearing a cape, right? It looks like she'd be wearing a cape. Is there a cape in that picture? ah She's probably not wearing a cape, to be honest. She's more dressed for, like, utility.
Speaker: You know. And go, well, I guess we know where to go. And I copy down the address of where the ah the picture, the camera, that camera is. Yeah.
Speaker: Like, the intersections. And I go, ready to go find out? Yeah, let's go check it out. so we're And on the way over, I'm going to do a dark vision.
Speaker: Dark vision, okay. Oh, yeah. While, like, in the car. Yeah. Are you driving or is she i I'm, like, driving and then pull into, like, a gas station. i'm like, hey, ah you mind driving for a bit? I'm going to do something real quick.
Speaker: Um, sure. And she, you know, I'll swap and then, yeah. Mind the clutch. Wait, you know to drive a manual? Just kidding, it's not a manual.
Speaker: She's like, oh, well, I do, but yeah. Oh, look at me, I'm superior. Um, but, uh, yeah, so I do a dark vision. The...
Speaker: Just a vision about the situation at hand. Alright. Um, I guess.
Speaker: Besides what we so already know. I have to train somebody tomorrow. i need to go knock out. um I'm a bounce. Oh, okay. Alright, I'll talk to you later.
Speaker: Alright. Bye, Frank. Bye. Bill, are you still alive?
Speaker: I mean, I guess we'll wrap up after this scene. Yeah. Bill? will be a short episode. Yeah. yeah there I'll hang out to the for the wrap-up. Okay. um Yeah.
Speaker: Yeah, so we'll do this dark vision, and then that'll be the where the episode ends. um I might need to combine this with the next one ah because I was wandering off a lot.
Speaker: Okay, so ah yeah. 20 minutes of usable audio. Your dark vision, um i believe it's I give you a vision and then you ask a question at the end of it.
Speaker: ah and It says mark your doom track. You have a vision about the situation at hand. After the vision, the GM... Ask the GM a question. They will answer it honestly. Okay. So, um your vision begins...
Speaker: ah Before you is nothing but stars. um ah You you see tiny pinpricks of of light that grow larger and larger and become the size of planets and then shrink back down and and stars again. And then after a while more of those and then eventually you see a planet that looks kind of familiar, the planet Earth.
Speaker: And you see... um you You see drones flying down to the planet and descend and placing items of different technology around the planet.
Speaker: oh it's interlinked with. planet With a stupid concert. and then you now see through the eyes of, well, I guess you don't know whose eyes you're seeing through, but you're walking down the street um and you turn into this alleyway.
Speaker: you You think to yourself, you know, this this is a shortcut home, you know, so you cut down the alleyway. ah And then the next thing you know, um there are flames everywhere around you.
Speaker: And then, you know, you you try to control them, but it's not working. The flames won't go out. And then um you black out for a second, your eyes open back up, and you find yourself in this really cold room.
Speaker: um And you try to make flames yourself um using your your powers, and and and it's just too cold. You can't you can't produce a flame. um And then the vision you know then the vision ends and you you ask your question.
Speaker: It's two questions I could ask. um
Speaker: Where is she?
Speaker: she is I feel like that's a cheat question. but Well, but I don't have to give you the answer you want. She is in a... You have to answer it honestly. i do. she is in a Where exactly is she?
Speaker: She is exactly inside a containment cell designed specifically to contain someone one with her abilities.
Speaker: Mmm.
Speaker: i So while this is happening, I guess like my eyes are like, they go like pitch black and min me, me, what is that thing where like they, it's like the strings on the fingers and like dancing with like puppets, puppets, marionette or whatever. Yeah, marionette.
Speaker: um That's like kind of like happening above my head, like for the comic or whatever, the cartoon. Yeah. I don't know what it looks like in, in life, in real life, ah But I guess I snapped back from the vision, i'm like... Aliens!
Speaker: Every time! And she's like, she she gets startled by you snapping back because you've just kind of gone silent for a while. And she's like, what, what? And then the episode ends. Did she see my eyes go black?
Speaker: she was She probably saw, but, you know, she was also driving. And you said you were going to do something. That's true. Yeah. And then, um the you know, the the... Quick question. Yeah.
Speaker: Um, and this is, this is more for Hayden than anything else. So, um, you're like, here, you drive. Did you get out of the vehicle and go around? or were you just like driving the vehicle and just hand her the steering wheel? I said I pulled into a gas station. Yeah.
Speaker: Okay. i didn't hear that part. Sorry. I had to ask. oh like I was like, don't remember that happening. Here, you drive. I'll just keep my foot on the gas and hopefully you don't need to stop.
Speaker: Yeah. Um, yeah. And so, yep, she is in some sort of containment cell. Um, Yeah, i have to ask ask her ask answer honestly. I don't have to answer exactly how you want me to. so um You have to answer my question the way I would.
Speaker: Well, all right. man That was the end of this session. um I don't know what this gonna sound but how long this is going to be once we actually cut out all of the me wandering off and our light start and all of that. And our mini-riff about Nintendo.
Speaker: yes yes um i was your game master this evening ron bjork and with me tonight it was jayden who mysteriously vanished as he does and then frank was also with us and almost mysteriously vanished.
Speaker: Yes, I did not mysteriously vanish though, but I was close. Hi, I was, I was Frank. I am Frank. And I was Calix, the verdant guardian. I figured out how some of my powers work because I'm retarded and didn't look where I was supposed to do. And then didn't do much of everything else. But I think I found a voice that was just a slight octave deeper than my own.
Speaker: You can find me on social media if you look hard enough. I also stream on Twitch occasionally on Sundays that I haven't done in like several weeks slash months because I've been lazy and not getting up early on Sundays.
Speaker: Unless you did do it this last Sunday when you're listening. Yes, you can't tell because you don't know when the future is for me, for you.
