This is your pocket guide to healing in 2025. As we move through this year, I wanted to share some of the most powerful healing insights from our conversations this past year.

Think of this as your roadmap for putting yourself first when everything feels overwhelming.

In this special compilation episode, I'm pulling together the wisdom that's transformed my clients' lives and will transform yours too.

We're covering all the good stuff:

  1. Why asking for help is actually the strongest thing you can do
  2. The one-thing-at-a-time approach that prevents burnout and overwhelm
  3. How to build habits that actually stick (without the all-or-nothing mentality)
  4. Simple ways to nourish your soul when you're running on empty
  5. Why movement is medicine for breaking negative thought cycles
  6. How to protect your energy on social media without feeling guilty
  7. The self-care you're already doing (but not giving yourself credit for)

This isn't just a tips episode. This is a love letter to every woman who's tired of people-pleasing, exhausted from putting everyone else first, and ready to remember that small steps create the biggest changes. These insights came from my lowest moments and biggest breakthroughs - the real stuff that actually works when you're struggling.

If you're feeling overwhelmed by self-improvement culture or think healing has to be this huge dramatic thing, this episode will shift everything for you.

Subscribe. Share. Take one small step today. Your healing matters.

Small steps, big healing. Keep growing! ✨

Introduction & Purpose of Podcast

00:00:02
Speaker
Hello, beautiful souls, and welcome to the Growing With Soul podcast. I am your host, Marisol Moran. For those of you who are new here, welcome. I'm so happy that you're here. I appreciate you being here. This is a space that I created because I wanted to take a little bit of time to provide essentially you the the space to breathe, to just be, and to learn little something that will help you on your healing journey.

Host's Background & Coaching Philosophy

00:00:29
Speaker
For those of you who do not know, i am a certified life coach and I do specialize in a self-esteem and confidence building. I work with individuals in healing emotional wounds, in radically accepting themselves. That is a huge component of what I do and essentially in building themselves back up.
00:00:50
Speaker
And throughout that entire process, it is a constant reminder to focus on one thing at a time than to try to do everything all at the same time.
00:01:01
Speaker
I bring that same ethos here to this podcast. Sometimes we can make the greatest changes through the smallest steps. So if you only ever take one thing away from an episode that you are listening to, that is enough.

Challenges with Asking for Help

00:01:21
Speaker
Don't be afraid to ask for help. You think that as a life coach, I would have this like down pat, like this would be this would be something that is just like a no brainer for me. But, you know, you know how it is when like.
00:01:36
Speaker
You're talking to someone and it is so evident that they are struggling with something. But then when it comes to your own struggles, like you can't really see it because you're too close to yourself to really see.
00:01:48
Speaker
Because additionally, like you're able to make excuses for yourself. And like I mentioned, I'm very hard on myself. So for me, I'm just like, when I get into that mode, like I don't allow for myself sometimes, sometimes, not always, sometimes I don't allow myself to be in the space to ask for help.
00:02:06
Speaker
But in doing this podcast, I have learned that especially in those times where I'm feeling that way, then I really do need to ask for help. So...
00:02:19
Speaker
That is a huge, huge thing that I've learned within the last 100 episodes, especially when it comes to the goals that I had, because I really do think that there there is a time where we have goals and maybe we're struggling to get there or we're trying to develop in some kind of a way and we're struggling to get to that point of development or healing or whatever it is.
00:02:43
Speaker
And the answer isn't necessarily trying harder. The answer is getting assistance. It's not that you're incapable.
00:02:55
Speaker
It's just that Maybe you don't have enough headspace and someone else can can it give you a little boost, can help you out in doing that thing for you.
00:03:06
Speaker
So ask for help. If you're struggling, ear you're just, you know, don't have enough headspace or have enough time, ask for help, ask for assistance, ask for support.

Building Consistency & Small Steps

00:03:22
Speaker
Sometimes we can make the greatest changes through the smallest steps. So if you only ever... take one thing away from an episode that you are listening to that is enough.
00:03:37
Speaker
There is so much that sometimes we can feel like we need to quote unquote fix or like we need to change about how we think, how we're behaving, how we're operating, or even about ourselves that it might feel overwhelming or we might And conversely, we might have so much motivation, so much energy to do all these wonderful things and to make all these great changes and developments. And then we go forth trying to do all of them at once and then we crash and burn.
00:04:11
Speaker
And then we feel almost like jaded. and we want to prevent that. And that's why I think that often if we just take the time to breathe, the time to be, the time to accept who we are and where we are and focus on one thing at a time, we can make the most difference.
00:04:27
Speaker
amazing changes in our life.
00:04:32
Speaker
Start small, build consistency, and do that to gain momentum before you start taking on bigger challenges. And quite frankly, you can even break down those bigger challenges into smaller steps. You know, you can break them down into smaller chunks, which is what I prefer to do.
00:04:49
Speaker
And before you know it, you've achieved something big. So essentially putting something new with something old and pretty much entrenched into your routine. So you want to start small and make manageable changes.
00:05:06
Speaker
So this will allow you to build moment gradually, like I mentioned previously, because you're go to choose one specific thing. And nestle it right in between with something that you already do.
00:05:20
Speaker
And that will allow you to be consistent. And the thing with this is that we are looking for consistency over perfection.

Nourishing Activities & Social Connections

00:05:30
Speaker
Make some time for yourself. As simple as that may sound, and it's like, oh novel idea. It's much harder to do. then we realize because how many of us are actually making time for ourselves?
00:05:47
Speaker
How many of us are actually taking time for things that bring vibrancy into our lives? Think about it. What is it that nourishes your soul, that nourishes your heart, that nourishes your body?
00:06:03
Speaker
What are those things for you? Are you actually including them in your daily, weekly lives? that's the Legitimately, think about that.
00:06:16
Speaker
And if you're not, how can you start doing that? What are your hobbies? How can you incorporate things into your routine? What about your nutrition? What about your hydration?
00:06:29
Speaker
Simple things we don't do, myself included. i go through like my waves of like being on top of all of it and then the waves where I'm not on top of it anymore. It fluctuates. So what can you do to get back on top of those things?
00:06:44
Speaker
We are also social creatures. Make time to connect. Especially if you're in a work environment where the office politics are just off the charts and you're just like, I don't don't really trust any of these people.
00:07:02
Speaker
it Everything is so fake. I hate that like office environment culture. i've i've been in and in offices like that before. Those are the times where you really need to connect with your friends and your family.
00:07:17
Speaker
People that you love and love to be around. Connect with them more. Schedule it. Like legitimately, if you are that busy and that tired and that and have that lack of motivation and that lack of energy to do things outside of what's simple within like your own living space, put it on your calendar.
00:07:40
Speaker
Schedule it a week in advance. Make the plans so that you do go.

Improving Screen Habits & Self-Esteem

00:07:49
Speaker
Have a digital wellness plan. If you are chronically online, what are ways that you can minimize the amount of time that you are online? What are some healthy habits and boundaries that you can create around social media?
00:08:04
Speaker
Perhaps it's no phone before bed, maybe like an hour or so. You're just not on your phone anymore. Maybe it's no phone in your room at night. Some people do that. I could never. It's also my alarm clock.
00:08:17
Speaker
Maybe it's having a setting where your phone goes grayscale. An hour or two before bed. Perhaps no notifications on social media whatsoever.
00:08:30
Speaker
Maybe having time limits on the apps is going to work. Doesn't work for me because you know what I learned? You can just change the time limit.
00:08:44
Speaker
Time limits don't work for me because I just changed the time limit. Don't be like me. have more discipline. Easier said than done. I know. I know. If you are struggling with low self-esteem already, i think go on social media and feel worse about yourself.
00:09:01
Speaker
Who are these people that you're following that are making you feel worse about yourself? And maybe the people aren't making you feel worse about They're not saying like you are a horrible person and you look gross. They're not saying these things, but you go online and you see their perfect lives, their perfect bodies, and you feel like shit about yourself.
00:09:17
Speaker
Maybe you don't need to be consuming their content. You can unfollow them. And you know what? On Instagram specifically, if these are people that you personally know and it would be awkward to unfollow them, you can mute them.
00:09:32
Speaker
Mute their stories. Mute their profiles so you do not get any of their content, but you didn't have to unfollow. So it won't be a weird interpersonal moment later on. Additionally, you can do some self-validation exercises.
00:09:46
Speaker
You can practice techniques in order to build yourself up. Affirmations, reminders. If you need any extra help with that, you know, get that help because building yourself up is going to be the best thing you do.
00:10:03
Speaker
I would guarantee... That you are already doing things to take care of yourself and you're not really even considering it as a self-care routine. And one of the things I like to do with everyone, but especially the people I work with and do you listening to this, is to give yourself credit for all the things you're already doing.
00:10:23
Speaker
For all the things maybe you're already dealing with. And in this case, let's not forget that your standard hygiene routine is a self-care routine.

Self-Care & Celebrating Wins

00:10:34
Speaker
So that thing that I mentioned earlier, if you're already waking up in the morning, getting out of bed, brushing your teeth, taking a shower, and then getting ready for your day, that's self-care.
00:10:48
Speaker
Brush your teeth, take a shower, standard self-care. Let's not forget that. And if you maybe you want to add to it, baby steps, baby steps, brush your teeth, floss, shower, get ready for work. See what I did there?
00:11:01
Speaker
I added the flossing. Flossing is important. Okay. If you're cavity prone like me, you need to floss. So little baby steps that we can do to add to our routines like that.
00:11:12
Speaker
But let's not forget that what you're already doing on a consistent basis like that is self-care.
00:11:24
Speaker
Document your wins. I'm a huge proponent of that. No matter what system you're going to be using in order to reach your goals in any year, document the wins, big or small, write them down, celebrate them.
00:11:37
Speaker
For this one, especially as you are journaling everything out, make sure to document your wins. Make sure that these resonate with you. When I say a win, you want to feel that, feel that in your heart, feel that in your soul, that it is a win.
00:11:50
Speaker
You want it to resonate, feel that frequency, that vibrancy. Feel proud of yourself for whatever accomplishment that is. For real. You want to feel that.
