Yeah, I enjoy seeing wrestlers foray out into Hollywood, whether it's TV or movies. It's just always fun seeing them in a different sort of media. As far as pro wrestling movies, though, I got to say historically, it's a thumbs down for me, man. I feel like pro wrestling is already such a theatrical thing that it's kind of hard to really make it compelling as a movie, you know? Yeah, I get that.

Alright, so we're going to divide the show up into two parts. We're going to start off by talking about wrestling movies, and then we're going to move into wrestlers in movies. So first up on the lineup is ready to rumble. This was probably like the seminal wrestling movie for kids of the attitude era like us. Jordan, give me your takes on the WCW classic.

This is 100% my favorite wrestling movie. I just I loved watching this growing up. I loved everyone that was in it. Jimmy King was the main character, which was not a real wrestler. But dude, I thought this movie they actually did a good job portraying wrestling.

So, um, they had that going, but I loved this movie and I actually went back and watched this a couple of weeks ago and I still think it's good. And this movie is most notable to me that we got another appearance from that, uh, the dreaded triple cage from unforgiven 1995. They're in the big battle at the end of the movie. I'm not going to lie in this movie, like the triple cage has a place and it's in a movie. It's not in a wrestling ring. So I didn't mind it in the movie sense because they can obviously do different things with it. When it's in a movie, it's like a cinematic match, right? Like they can pause it and do different things with it. So I didn't mind it in the movie.

I, uh, you know, not to totally sidebar into it. I liked the triple cage as a structure. It was just the one match that we got with it was so just boneheadedly stupid where it's, you know, whole Hogan and the macho man versus like nine heels. Yeah, that match is really bad. But yeah, I mean, it is a cool, it's a cool concept, but not well executed in the wrestling world.

Like it didn't come out in any other theaters in Omaha. So we went and saw this on a Saturday. It was a matinee. Um, the theater was a complete shithole, but I love this movie dude. Mickey Rourke is such a, he, I like him as an actor, but him as a wrestler was just so believable to me. His, uh, portrayal of Randy, the Ram I just thought was just really well done. And I mean, there's a ton of wrestlers scattered throughout this movie, but I love this movie. I actually have seen this quite a few times, even since the first time I watched it.

A lot of these guys, especially back in the 80s, weren't making a ton of money. So you're not really going to make enough to live, you know, live a comfortable life the rest of your days, especially if you're like this guy, which, you know, seems to seem to have some issues, pissing away some of his money. But just a hell of a performance man, really kind of captured that kind of sea level wrestling scene that, you know, is out there in the Indies and some of the various small cons and stuff.

I had read that it was a little bit of a mix of Jake the Snake and Jimmy Superfly Snooka as far as the personal struggles and everything that he was dealing with. It's a sad movie, man. This is definitely not a movie you watch when you're feeling down. Dude, it is really sad watching him go through everything.

Yeah, Darren Aronofsky is a great, great director. And this is an awesome movie. So if you're out there listening and you got a significant other or maybe just a good friend who does not like wrestling at all, but you kind of want to introduce them a little bit to the world, this is definitely an avenue because, you know, you definitely do not have to be a wrestling fan to enjoy this movie. Yeah. A hundred percent. It's just a great movie. So yeah, I definitely recommend this one highly.

This was kind of like the Disney Channel version of Paige's life though. It is a fun movie. I think it really suffered. It came out in 2018. I just think it kind of killed it because this was this is totally a family film, right? This is like a feel good family story. The movie, you know, it's it's been out for four years. So, you know, spoiler alert, if you were planning on watching Fighting With My Family this weekend, the movie basically culminates with her winning the Women's Championship the night after WrestleMania 30. So it's a feel good family movie all the way around. It's produced by The Rock. But I just think the timing of it was just weird between the time they made it and the time it came out.

And that movie is slated to be directed by Todd Phillips, which is the guy who did The Hangover and did The Joker. So I think that's going to be pretty damn good. What do you think about that one, Jordan? That should be really good. Chris Hemsworth is just a really good actor. I mean, obviously, I'm a big fan of Marvel movies. Dude, I'm torn, man. I love that one. And then you remember King Kong Bundy was in Married with Children, dude, playing himself. And then he originally was playing himself and it was revealed that he was actually Peg's brother. And dude, I love Married with Children. That's in my top five or six favorite shows ever. So I got to give the nod to Married with Children, man, over Boy Meets World. But yeah, the Vader episode of Boy Meets World is really, really good as well. Definitely go out of your way to check out both of those. Good one.
