Introduction and Super Bowl Excitement

00:00:15
Speaker
All right. What is up goal line listeners? We are back and we are ready to talk about the single biggest football game of the year. Jordan, what was your thoughts on the pro bowl flag football game? I mean, I would have had to have watched it to have thoughts on it. So that's not the big game we were going to talk about it all morning. You've been telling me we're going to talk about the big game on the show today. I mean, I did watch like the skills challenge, so that was pretty neat and probably the best thing of the entire season. So we might as well just wrap up the Super Bowl today.
00:00:44
Speaker
All right, it is the Super Bowl edition of the goal line. We're also going to be doing our end of season awards. ah Jordan, you ready to get into it? Let's do it.
00:01:01
Speaker
All right, so I figured let's just talk about the Super Bowl in general and then let's just wrap our actual picks into this segment since we're just going heavy on Super Bowl, obviously. Yeah. um I don't know. Just give me your like initial reactions as we really haven't talked about the game at all. We kind of avoid it it last

Eagles vs. Chiefs Matchup Analysis

00:01:20
Speaker
week. Just give me like your initial thoughts on ah yeah what you're watching for in the game on Sunday. Yeah, I'll take you my thought process. man So as soon as the game ended on um As soon as the the Bills and Chiefs ended on that Sunday night man, my initial thoughts were that Eagles are gonna win the Super Bowl man I just thought that they're they seem to really be surging I thought they're a pretty decent matchup for the Chiefs but
00:01:46
Speaker
as time has gone by, you know, that as what what do I saw that that day is kind of faded further, further in the rear view. I'm thinking, Chief Steve, three people, man, it just it feels inevitable. I, I, I do think the Eagles, they need to jump on them, dude, similar to what happened last Super Bowl remember or the two Super Bowls ago when they played.
00:02:03
Speaker
The Eagles had that. It was looking like they were going to run away with it, man. And then they just made some big mistakes. Jalen Hurts had that absolutely critical fumble and they let the Chiefs get back in it and turn it into you know a Chiefs football game, close one score game going down the stretch. um i think I do think that they physically count match them, right? Like if you just line these two teams up, you know I think they're the bigger, stronger, faster team.
00:02:26
Speaker
um And you know, you just gotta hope their coaching staff is found it can find a way to leverage that and they can get after that Chiefs defense man and and beat up on them because you want to get Saquon, you know when it needs to be a Saquon game Jalen hurts could do it but Saquon needs to lead the way and Don't let him get taken out of the game Don't get down to scores early where you kind of go away from the run game a little bit So I do think the Eagles can there's definitely you know a script out there where the Eagles get the win but I'm feeling pretty confident that we're gonna see the first time in NFL history at the repeat for So I agree with everything you said and I am picking the Chiefs to win spoiler. um I do think there is definitely a world where
00:03:08
Speaker
the Eagles could potentially win by two scores. I just, I feel like their offense is that good. And I feel like their defense can do enough things that can frustrate my homes and their entire offense. I feel like the majority of this game is going to dictate, be dictated by the low line of scrimmage. And I feel like the Eagles defensive line and the Eagles offensive line just has such an advantage.
00:03:32
Speaker
Um, so I feel like that could be a big part of it. And like you said, if Saquon gets rolling, like you already know, he's going to do his thing, but I mean, if he really gets rolling and they can just run the ball, um, and control the clock, like I feel like that gives them the best opportunity. And I feel like that's something that the bills should have leaned on more. Like that's why I talked about James Cook last week. When we, when we did our, um, reviews of those games, it's just.
00:03:59
Speaker
I don't know, man, for some reason, the chiefs are just so, it's so easy for them to get you off your game. The Eagles are a different team though. Like, I mean, outside of them stacking the box with nine guys, like I just don't envision a world where Jalen hurts, throws the ball 25 to 30 times. Like I just, I think they know what they are and I think they know what they have. and I think they're going to use it to their advantage. And I think this is going to be a close game. I don't think the chiefs, I mean, unless the Eagles just have like a major like catastrophic collapse and they just turn the ball over five times. I just, I don't see a world where the chiefs blow the Eagles out. Um, I think it'll be a close game and
00:04:38
Speaker
It's just going to come down to the end and like, who am I going to trust? Am I going to trust Patrick Mahomes or Jalen hurts? Am I

Mahomes, Brady, and the GOAT Debate

00:04:44
Speaker
going to trust Andy Reed or Nick Sirianni? I mean, dude, everything always favors the chiefs when it comes down to those things. Um, I hope we get a good game because I i really do not like either of these teams. I don't like.
00:04:57
Speaker
either of these teams fans. I don't like either of these teams. im candidate to you and It's just, this is a tough game for me to watch. And to be honest with you, when they, when they ran this game two years ago, I enjoyed the game. I thought it was a phenomenal football game. I mean, it all came down to one play, like that Jalen hurts fumble, completely flipped the game. And dude, if he doesn't fumble that ball, I don't know how that game turns out, but I, there was no momentum for the chiefs at the Eagle score on that possession. Like I just, I don't know, man, this is a weird game. And, but yeah, I just.
00:05:27
Speaker
I just don't see a way that the Chiefs lose, dude. As much as it pains me to say that, they're so good and they just executed every level and they got Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes. and I don't know. There's just not much more you can say about it. and They didn't come this far just to come this far, man. i Yeah, I'm with you, man. That was a weird, that Super Bowl was a weird game just from kind of like a game flow momentum standpoint. ah You know, you had the Chiefs getting huge punt returns, man. ah And then of course they got the assist from the refs down the stretch, man, to really seal the deal and let them basically, you know, kick a chip shot field goal as time's running out to win it. The the Eagles offense had been playing pretty good there in the fourth quarter. So you wonder if Jalen Hurts gets some time back. Maybe he gets them down for one more score and, you know, we go overtime or,
00:06:15
Speaker
where the Eagles win. Um, but yeah, they got, they can't let it be close, man. Do not let the chiefs play their style of game. Just cause dude, you just know, man, they're, they're the new Patriots. When it gets to that high leverage situation, they're going to out execute you. They're not going to make the dumb mistake to fumble away a one score game at the end. One thing and dude, I don't know how many times I've already seen this this week and I just,
00:06:39
Speaker
It like boggles my mind that this is even being talked about. Like he's getting there, but like people are like, oh, if chiefs when Sunday, my homes is the goat, no matter what happens the rest of his career. It's like,
00:06:52
Speaker
Did we just like forget what Tom Brady did over his career? Like, dude, he won his first Super Bowl and his last Super Bowl, 19 years of apart. Like, you know how incredible that is to say that out loud? Like, Mahomes is still in the prime of his career. Dude, who's to say that when Andy Reid retires, this doesn't just all fall down and whatever happens. Like, we we don't know. I mean, and I mean, dude, if you just look at this on a stats basis, like my homes, his numbers have gone down every year for the last three years, three years ago, he threw for 5,000 yards since then he's at 4,100 and 3,900. And I know he didn't play all 17 games, but.
00:07:32
Speaker
i Dude, you got to slow down on just anointing someone that go when we watch somebody play for 20 years, that truly like define, redefine the quarterback position. I just, I know there's a lot of flashy stuff that Mahomes does and Brady was more just the, the normal pocket passer and just chucked the ball. Like I get it, but dude, everyone just needs to relax a little bit here. Like it's,
00:07:57
Speaker
Six Super Bowls is a lot. like yeah i mean you see he said Even if they win this weekend, he's still got to get two more to even tie him. So I just i think it's crazy how everyone just is so you know you're so much in a hurry to just anoint someone the greatest player of all time when, dude, this dude still got, fuck, I would imagine at least 10 more years of playing football. like i Yeah, health permitting. He's got at least another decade, man. I'm right there with you. I think he's on, I think win or lose. He's already on track yeah to at least catch Brady, maybe surpass him, but there's still a long way to go, man. The lunge, similar to LeBron with it the NBA, it's the longevity really that ultimately became almost as impressive even as all the Super Bowl wins, man. That Brady, I mean, dude, Brady was still Selena that last year. He was not
00:08:43
Speaker
you know, Michael Jordan with the Wizards that last year with the books, he was still playing at a very high level. um He just, you know, decided to move on with his life. It is amazing to me that our generation has got to see. I mean, dude, like even kids that were born in 1999 2000, like, they've got to watch two players that have defined what it means to like play into your older years and we'll probably never see it again. Like le what LeBron and Tom Brady have done, we'll probably never see again. I just, I mean, dude. And they got to see Roman Reigns wrestled it also. Don't forget that.
00:09:17
Speaker
Yeah. Uh, just, I don't know, man, it's just incredible to me, like how many people just downplay these, these guys for what they've done. It's like, I get the Jordan and LeBron argument, but I will never understand how people do not think that Tom Brady is the greatest quarterback ever to play football. Like,
00:09:36
Speaker
I don't think it's close man for a long time there I thought it was kind of close between him and Montana but really after that uh after that Falcons Super Bowl comeback man that cemented it for me that dude was the best and then you know he went on to win two more Super Bowls after that man not even just that too like dude everyone just kept saying oh man it's Belichick it's all Belichick then he goes to another organization that I mean a lot of people said it was not ran well when he got there a lot of people didn't like the way Bruce Arians coach and he still won a Super Bowl even with all that noise and beat Mahomes doing it like I I i mean what what are we doing here dude he's 2-0 head-to-head against Mahomes in playoff games like what are we doing man and not to mention he was over 40 years old for both of those like
00:10:22
Speaker
i I just, I don't know what we're doing. And I saw it on all the talk shows and stuff this week. And I was just like, dude, does does everyone just forget because he retired two years ago that how great this dude was until his

Chiefs' Future Prospects: Reid and Kelsey

00:10:35
Speaker
last snap. Like ah just baffling to me.
00:10:38
Speaker
Yeah, Brady was definitely the man. All right, so we're both on board with a Chiefs three Pete. I saw it came out Andy Reed's coming back next year. So who knows man, maybe they can go for four straight and it's, it's going to be pretty, pretty interesting to see what the off season has in store for them. But yeah, I saw Andy Reed's at he's coming back. Travis Kelsey said he's playing another three seasons. There's no way out Travis Kelsey is playing another three seasons.

Super Bowl Predictions and MVP Debate

00:11:01
Speaker
There is watching him play now it all It almost looks like he's in pain playing football like there's it could be like, ah you know The Miami he kept you don this has him on the roster for it's felt like a decade after he was, you know useful on the court Maybe they just keep around for vibes and dust him off for the playoffs man, dude.
00:11:19
Speaker
I love watching Travis Kelsey play football, but it's almost to the point now where it's like depressing watching him play now. Like I, yeah, he's aged a lot in the last TV. I mean, he literally had i just, i I don't know, man. It's just, it's wild to me. Like this was his most down season ever. I mean, he had three touchdowns this year, dude. Like didn't even get to a thousand yards, 823 yards on 97 catches. Like,
00:11:46
Speaker
He averaged eight and a half yards of catch. I mean, that's his lowest by far by two yards. That's his lowest of his career. I mean, even going back to when he was a rookie, like he was averaging 13 yards of catch. It's like, dude, I'll be impressed if he does it. That's all I'll say. Like Tony Gonzalez towards the end, you could tell he was slowing down and this is what it started to look like. It was more like a, a plotting kind of thing. Like, yeah I don't know. It's just weird to watch him play now.
00:12:14
Speaker
You know, we talked about, uh, that Brady come back against the Falcons. You realize that was actually eight years ago today. I do. I do. All right. Uh, what other news we got outside of the Superbowl? That's it, man. This is Superbowl week. That's really the only thing I want to talk about this week. We can, uh, any other news can be saved for after the Superbowl. Cause it's about to be the most depressing time of the year.
00:12:37
Speaker
Yeah, for sure. All right. Let's get into our million dollar bets. No, no, no. We got to do our pick first award. Oh, I thought we both picked awards. Oh, my bad. My bad. yeah I jumped the gun, dude. I was ready to put this money in there. Okay. i would you I mean, you always direct the opening segment. I didn't know you were. why didn You asked me if there was any more news. I assumed that meant you were ready to transition into our our end of season awards, not million dollar bets.
00:13:02
Speaker
All right, let's hit it. This is midday. So we're getting me and Jordan are recording anytime before like 8 PM. We're, we're slightly off, man, or at least I am. Let's get into our end of season awards. We'll start with offensive player of the year. For purposes of the goal line, this is for the best non quarterback in the NFL.
00:13:20
Speaker
I mean, that's who always gets it anyway, almost every year. They really said suggest kate they this should just change the overall parameters of it, man, since it seems like MVP is almost always going to go to a QB and and vice versa. There are some good ones this year, but ah dude, I just don't know how you don't give it to Saquon. I mean, what he's done this year is absolutely incredible. I mean, ran for over 2000 yards. Would have broken the record if you would have played in the last game. like ah Jamora Chase is a hell of a runner up, but dude, Saquon just had one of the most unreal seasons we'll ever see.
00:13:54
Speaker
Yeah, agreed. I don't think there's much debate on this one. They're pretty much unanimous. Defensive player of the year. oh This one was tough. There wasn't really like one transcendent season for a defensive player to make sure I felt like a bunch of guys had really strong seasons, but there wasn't, you know, any breakout. um I kind of looked at the Broncos, you know, they had a big turnaround this year under year 200 Peyton made the playoffs with a rookie QB and that defense really led the way.
00:14:18
Speaker
So I'm gonna kind of give it it's really with you know, more of a team achievement thing for the Broncos defense But I'm gonna give it to Patrick sirtan For just the job. He did a quarterback man. I thought that he he led the way for them Might possibly would be the best quarterback in the league, you know sauce Gardner got all kinds of hype that that first year there with the Jets Steve But it seems like I don't know. I feel like he's falling off a lot I feel like I've hardly heard about him the last two years Whereas Patrick sirtan the second man is just crushing it for Denver. So he's my pick. I did not talk about this at all before the episode. I also picked Patrick Sertan. I just, dude, usually this goes to a pass rusher. And I mean, Trey Hendrickson had a great season, but it wasn't like, Oh my God, what he's doing is just unreal season. So I feel like this is the ultimate year to give it to a corner. Like I just,
00:15:07
Speaker
Patrick Sertan is the definition of a lockdown corner. And like you said, their defense was so good and a lot of it is due to him because the majority of the time they don't even throw at his side of the field for fear of him picking the quarterback off. So yeah, for the same reasons I went Sertan. Yeah. When you get that true lockdown, like him or like Ravis used to be back in the day.
00:15:26
Speaker
It's such a cheat code for the defense, man. you're almost like It's almost like having like an extra player on the field, because you could just scheme. You don't got to scheme for that whole you know that whole side of the field. You can just take it off, because he's got it covered one on one. ah the I'm really starting to think we we may go down the line, same awards. Like Jordan said, we did not at all talk about this, man. Who do you have for Coach of the Year?
00:15:47
Speaker
Okay. So I want to put a caveat on this because I don't think he's going to win the NFL's coach of the year, but I picked Nick Sirianni for coach of the year. The reasoning behind it is everybody wanted this dude ran out of town after last season because of everything that happened. Dude, after that Falcons loss, there was people that were like, they got to fire this dude. This coach, this team is going nowhere.
00:16:10
Speaker
they rebounded, they had an excellent season. I mean, they're in the Superbowl now. Uh, they lost Jalen Hertz for a couple of games in there. Like I, I just feel like what this dude has done against like all the adversity of everyone, just saying that he's not a good coach and this team's done. This is his second Superbowl in three years, dude. Like I just, like,
00:16:30
Speaker
What are we doing where we're just slandering a guy that's taken to two teams of the Super Bowl and. They lost their their anchor of this team I mean dude Jason Kelsey retiring was a big deal and they haven't missed a beat like their their run game is just as good as it's ever been like I just.
00:16:47
Speaker
I don't know, man. I feel like Sirianni coached his ass off. I do think Dan Campbell probably gets it and it's deserved. um But I mean, like, like Seth said, we we base ours off the whole season. Like we're not like the NFL or the playoffs don't account. And if you're accounting playoffs, I'm going Sirianni.
00:17:04
Speaker
I'm going DQ man, just cause yeah I don't think Syrian is a bad pig. I think he's done an outstanding job, but I think he had the most to work with it. I still think the chiefs got the best 53 man roster, uh, top to bottom in the league. So I feel like he's kind of starting on third base in a lot of ways, but you know, again, he has done a great job, um, adjusted from that, that kind of collapse they had in the last year to get back to the super bowl. so I can't begrudge that pick at all, but I'm going for DQ man. I don't think anybody in their wildest dreams saw the season that the commanders would have, you know, such a strong regular season. and That was already kind of money in the bank. And then they turn around and go and win two road playoff games with a rookie quarterback. So, so DQ is my pick, man. And yeah, like you said, I'm pretty sure he's going to, I think it's going to be between him and maybe Kevin O'Connell with the Vikings for
00:17:49
Speaker
um the for the NFL's pick because you know he did such a great job, but it's kind of a similar situation. They had everything planned to have ah their top 10 first round draft pick and it's starting quarterback. He goes out in the preseason and they still go out and go 14 and three. Yeah, it's ah I would agree with you. I i think it's down between O'Connell, Dan Campbell, and Dan Coyne. I just think that's the top of the line for coaching. And so, yeah, um I won't be surprised by any of those.
00:18:17
Speaker
All right. And last but not least, the probably going to be the most controversial one in real life as well. Who do you have for MVP this year? It's two dog race, but both dogs are pretty bad ass.
00:18:29
Speaker
Here's my problem. I felt like last year they just gave it to Lamar. I don't necessarily know if he was the best player in the league last year. Dude, I, I, I think a little more had one of the best seasons we'll probably ever see. Like I, I mean, he had over 5,000 yards this year, what three, four picks the entire season until playoffs. I just, I don't know, man, this year, it just seems like I get that the Josh Allen's probably going to win it because he did carry that team, but dude, I just, I don't know how you overlook what Lamar just did this year. I just, 5,000 yards and all the touchdowns he had and the limited turnovers. Like I get it, but it just, I just don't, I mean, it probably won't happen. Cause like, dude, if somebody wants three back to back to back MVPs, I just,
00:19:20
Speaker
I don't know, we'll probably never see it again. So that's one reason I want to see it. It would be funny if he wins back to back to back MVPs and the Chiefs went back to back to back Super Bowls, because that was always the one team Lamar couldn't beat. I mean, either way, either Josh Allen or Lamar, that's the one team they can't beat. So I think this will be his third, but it'll only be too straight, right? Because he didn't remember 2022. He was out. He won it for 2023. And this will be for twenty twenty four The other one he won was the 2019 season, but it was still, it'll basically be, you know, his third, I think out of his healthy seasons he's had, I think this will be third out of out of four years that he's been MVP.

NFL Awards Speculations

00:19:55
Speaker
So still crazy achievement. um I think the reasons for giving it to Josh Allen are valid. I do think he was asked to do more with less. I think he had a way less talented supporting cast and just a lot of the, as great as Lamar was, I felt like they still had other stuff they could live or die by, whereas it seemed like
00:20:13
Speaker
the bills went as, you know, they were always going to go just as far as Josh Howard was going to take them. And I think Lamar was working with a significant scheme advantage just with their overall offense that they have down there. And then especially adding Derek Henry to the mix. I think that he had a lot of advantages built in all that being said, I still thought his performance was so strong that it's undeniable, man. If if you give this, if you're giving this award to Josh Allen this year, you're basically saying like,
00:20:38
Speaker
We're giving it to whoever's got like the nicest story for a season. We're not giving it to who performed the best on the field, because dude was just surgical, man. He went out there and say what you want about that playoff game. you know He turned in, I think, ah you know maybe a B of playoff game. I would say it was a B minus. I'd say it was just a flat B for his playoff game. But dude, regular season, the guy was perfect, man. Even the interceptions he had, they were almost all tipped off a receiver's hands or something like that, or receiver falls down.
00:21:05
Speaker
Um, so yeah, I, I think it's kind of bullshit, man. Honestly, if they're, if they do give it to Josh Allen, I think Lamar won it pretty decisively. Yeah. I just don't see how you can't, you don't give it to him at this point. I just, I don't know, man, this is a wild year. Cause I know it's going to be controversial either way. Like somebody's going to be pissed about it, but I think Lamar definitely deserves it.
00:21:31
Speaker
All right, so that's it for our picks. We'll see what the NFL does on Saturday where they give out the official results. I think if you look at the All-Pro picks, you can kind of see where it's going. I think Lamar got most of the All-Pro votes, didn't he? Yeah. Yeah, so we'll see, but maybe they flipped the script on them because they could... I don't know, the voters are funky. I could see them being like, you know, the All-Pro is kind of a consolation prize since they're giving the MVP to Josh Allen, but we'll see.

Super Bowl Betting Strategies

00:21:56
Speaker
You ready to get into our bets for the second time? Let's do it. Yeah, let's do it.
00:22:13
Speaker
Alright, so it's definitely been a long and winding road for many dollar bets this year. We enjoyed have gone up and down back and forth. We both had, you know, $500,000 leads at different points. um I've been on a little bit of a cold streak here down the stretch, man. I was on a straight heater there. through the kind of like the first, the the one quarter mark towards like the start of December, I was on a hot streak, but I've pulled out big time. You've got everything you could wish for though. As we hit the Superbowl, we are within $200,000 of each other. I'm sitting at $1,456,723. Jordan's at $1,607,080. And I'm gonna let Jordan, since he has the lead, I'm gonna make him go first. I'm revealing his bets for the Superbowl.
00:22:56
Speaker
Okay. Lock in. We got a lot stuff for this one. All right. So my first bet, I'm going to do a two pick parlay with, uh, sake one Barkley and Xavier worthy for anytime touchdowns. I'm going to throw a hundred thousand on that for a $400,000 payout. Uh, pick two, I'm going tails for the coin toss 50,000 on that to win a hundred thousand.
00:23:28
Speaker
uh, color of Gatorade port on the winning coach. I'm going to go. Oh my gosh. Oh dude, I'm going, the this we're going all in orange. I'll do 50,000 on that. It would pay out 175,000. Uh, I'm going chiefs minus one and a half, 250,000. It will pay out 488, $488,095.
00:23:54
Speaker
I'm going over 35 and a half yards for the longest touchdown scored, betting 50,000 to pay out 93,478.
00:24:08
Speaker
Okay. Um, it wouldn't let me just pick a specific, specific player for the MVP. I don't know why it made me pick a position. So I'm going to do two of these. I'll do a $50,000 on a quarterback to win MVP. It only pay out 70,000, but I think that one seems pretty obvious if the chiefs win. And then I'm also going to throw 30,000 on running back, which will pay out 97,500. All right. Is that it? That's it.
00:24:38
Speaker
All right, so we had two different schools of thoughts here. Jordan was going for fun. I'm going for the win, man. I won last year on Million Dollar Bets, even though Jordan's the the professional game. I'm trying to take his ass out one more time. I got a single three pick parlay. I'm taking the Chiefs money line.
00:24:57
Speaker
Taking Travis Kelsey a touchdown and Patrick Mahomes a touchdown. I think the big stars are gonna go out and ball out. So Mahomes touchdown, Kelsey touchdown. Chiefs touchdown, I'm betting my entire pot of money on this. I'm going um' betting $1,456,723. It will pay out $21,850,845 if it wins. You know that Mahomes touchdown is a rushing touchdown, right? Yeah, I know.

And you were on danger zone. That is it's all or nothing. I didn't, I was trying to game it out like Jeopardy daily double style. Like, let me see. I wonder, you know, do I leave a little bit in the pot and hope he just strikes out, but I'm just going to bet, you know, I'm going to bet on myself, pardon the pun and say that I get this thing right. And, uh, and this through pick parlay carries me to the second straight year abandoned million dollar bets champion. I mean, it wouldn't even have be mattered what I bet when you do that. Like I, that's, I was just shooting more for just like the, it's the last week of the season. So I'm just going to fucking throw on a shit ton of bets. I mean, and yeah, that's what I always do for the Superbowl though. So like, that's always been my school of thought is like, I like it. I like it, man. I, but, uh, but yeah, we'll, we'll see what happens here, man.

Listener Questions and Super Bowl Plans

00:26:07
Speaker
I just, I want to win, dude. You know me. I do know. Yeah. All right. You ready to get the listener, bro? Let's do it.
00:26:13
Speaker
All right, let me pull it up. We had a few questions come in from the listeners this week. All right, so first off.
00:26:21
Speaker
Well, I thought it was first off. One sec. Do you guys, do you guys got anything big on the menu for this weekend, Jordan? No, I think we're going to go over to some friends house. They always do something for the Superbowl and, um, we, there's just a shit ton of food. I mean, there's always a ton of food. So it's just really fun, man. I, even though I have no interest in who wins this game, like I literally do not care. Um, it's still the Superbowl man.
00:26:46
Speaker
I think we're going to do a little Cajun spread, not ever it being down in New Orleans. I think we're going to do some, uh, some fried shrimp po' boys and some other stuff. Oh yeah. That sounds good. All right. Our buddy Zach Hertzer says, do you think this game will be fixed or not? 100% fixed. yeah I don't think so, man. I think there may have been a little bit of pressure to get the chiefs to the super bowl, but I feel like once they're at the super bowl, like that's, that's that dude. There's no, I don't know what the incentive would be on it. I get the incentive for them to make it. I don't know what the incentive for them to win is. Yeah.
00:27:18
Speaker
All right. Ari, the lovely Ari, says, favorite Super Bowl halftime show of all time? It's got to be Janet Jackson, right? That's the only one where we got a titty. Yeah, exactly. That was going to be my exact response, is we've only gotten a titty in one Super Bowl. So that's it. As far as favorite, dude, Prince was pretty bad ass at that Colts and Bears Super Bowl. That was a good one. I remember the Michael Jackson one when I was a kid, dude. I think that was at the Cowboys and Bills Super Bowl out in Cali. That was a really good one.
00:27:44
Speaker
um That's kind of the two that come to mind. da i I usually kind of been checked out as as it's gotten more and more spectacular the last like 10 or 15 years. I kind of just rolled my eyes at it. I thought Bruno Mars was pretty good man that year for the Colts and Seahawks. I think Prince is probably the best one ever, especially considering it started raining when he played purple rain. I thought that was really cool. I liked all the the Dr. Dre and friends won a couple of years ago too. I thought that one was fun. I mean, it was fun for our generation. I don't think older people really enjoyed that one too much.
00:28:14
Speaker
See, that was one of the first times in my life I felt old, dude, because we were the older people. du We were the older people enjoying it, Jordan. Yeah. that one it Dude, they just, after Janet Jackson's titty popped out, they just had such a run of like, I mean, Rolling Stones, Tom Petty, and I liked all those, but it's just different. I i liked Rihanna a lot um yeah two years ago. Just, I mean, it'd been a long time since we've seen her like perform or anything and her revealing that she was pregnant was also wild. So um yeah, I mean, I enjoy the Super Bowl halftime show. It just kind of is what it is. But yeah, Janet Jackson popping a titty out. It will be always be the most memorable. Right? Which our buddy, Sam Rosenthal says, which team that did not make the playoffs this year makes it next year?
00:29:01
Speaker
oof um I'm gonna say the Falcons make the playoffs next year. moment of silence. I mean, I'm just, I think with panics and everything, I think they make it. I think the bangles make it too. I just, I don't see a way that yeah they don't figure it out. Bangles are my safe pick too. I'm sure they're going to retool and get it turned around. Um, I'll go Jaguars, man. I think i think the AFC South is still fairly, uh, fairly soft. They got, yeah, they got the QB.
00:29:30
Speaker
I think, uh, and I like what their head coach. Hey, hold on. let Let's tell the list or something. Seth thought that William Cohen was the GM. not to That was on the air, bro. That was on the air. Yeah. I saw that clip come up and obviously do that. I did not know what Liam Cohen looked like. I saw that clip go up and I knew that they had fired bulky the day before. So I was like, Oh, look at this dork. but They hired to be their GM, dude. Like it never even crossed my mind that that guy that did that wasn't going to be an NFL head coach, man.
00:29:58
Speaker
I never even looked at the caption. i just add That screamed to me like some some numbers dork that ah you know they they brought in the analytics guy to be their new GM, man. Yeah, that's awesome. All right. um Can this game end in a tie? I don't care for either team to win. I'm thinking instead of a tie, I'm thinking Bain shows up, man, and just you know swallows up the whole field. I'd prefer that, honestly. All right. Favorite moment of the season?
00:30:28
Speaker
Um,
00:30:31
Speaker
ah for me, I would probably go with, um, going to Vegas and watching the Falcons play, even though the game was absolute shit, dude, just going to Vegas with your friends and just spending a weekend there and sitting at the sports book all day on Sunday and then going to a Monday night football game in Vegas. Like that was an all-timer of a trip for me. So that for me, that was probably my favorite moment in a season that I absolutely hated watching the Falcons play.
00:30:57
Speaker
I'll probably go the Redskins Hail Mary against the Bears man. That was really cool. Yeah, that one and then that one against the Cowboys. you It wasn't a Hail Mary, but they hit that like 75 yard touchdown to Terry McCord to tie the game in that room. And I thought. ah Uh, yeah, both, both those two big Redskins ones. I know that one, that one kind of gets forgotten because they didn't win in that game, but it was still an insane play. So I'll go with those two. different name There was some, like, this was a good season of like moments for, for football in general, but did the commanders were surrounding a lot of them. Like it just, what an incredible season for them, man. Yeah.
00:31:35
Speaker
ah Tony Barker, did you watch any of the Pro Bowl games? No, I honestly forgot it was on until I saw some clips pop up on social media. i Like I said, I watched a little bit of the skills challenge, but none of the Super or none of the Pro Bowl.
00:31:47
Speaker
and Brian Vermeer says, should they ban the tush push? Is there any skill associated with this play? I mean, skill, I don't know. It's definitely strength. And and strength is part of football, man. So I don't think they should ban it. du I don't think it's, I mean, it's definitely a little bit anticlimactic when you see them lining up for it. And it seems a little bit unstoppable, but it still feels like Uh, you know, our buddy Sam Rosen, I'll chime in the comments, you know, you talk about banning it, but the Eagles seem to be the only team that can effectively do it. I feel like other teams try it and you know, it's, it's successful 55% of the time instead of the 95% of the time when the Eagles do it. So I don't see any reason to ban and we haven't seen any crazy injuries, dude. If we, I know it, I know, you know, Jason Kelsey talked about it puts a tremendous amount of strain on the other line, but
00:32:29
Speaker
we're not seeing you know broken arms, broken legs coming out of this thing. So I think and and big until it becomes a safety concern or until it becomes something where every single team in the league is automatically converting on these you know one one yard to go situations, I don't think they ban it.
00:32:44
Speaker
how can you okay so that's basically like just saying like oh man this is unfair that the Eagles know how to do this I mean the Bills tried to do it five times in the Chiefs game and it didn't work once like I'm sorry man you're not banning something because one team knows how to do it like sorry that nobody else can figure it out but Hey, shit happens.

Should the NFL Ban the 'Tush Push'?

00:33:04
Speaker
That's part of football. Only one team has Patrick Mahomes too. What are we going to ban him next? Like I just, I don't know. I mean, I think that shit's annoying. Like, unless it's like a trick play, that's not a trick play to me, dude. It's it's a quarterback sneak where they push the guy forward. And this has been going on for a long time. Like, shit, look at the USC one where Reggie Bush pushed Leonard into the end zone. Like, yeah what are we doing? Like this has always been a thing. I'm sorry. One team does it better than everybody else. Like,
00:33:30
Speaker
If they ban that, that is a pussy move by the NFL. I i hate to say it, but it is. I agree, man. To me, banning it is, like I said, it's just stuff like that is just, if

Conclusion and Season Farewell

00:33:40
Speaker
there's some sort of loophole in the rules or some something that allows it for every single team to be able to do something basically automatically, then I look at changing up the rules. Or again, if it's a safety issue, man. And I don't think the chush push ticks either one of those boxes. but I understand being annoyed by it, but I would tell your teams, dude, hey, stock up on some, you know, and if I'm in the draft, if I'm in the NFC East, so I know I got to play these guys twice a year. I'm getting me a couple of big ass defensive tackles, man, that are going to just hold the line and get some pushback in the negative and you know towards the offense, man, when when they go to run that. Because that's what it is. it's it's yeah I think he's right in saying it's not really skill. It's straight up strength on strength, man, and and who's going to move the pile. And the Eagles have been doing it for three years now.
00:34:20
Speaker
Yeah, I agree. All right. Uh, that's it, man. Jordan hit us with some closing thoughts and we'll get out of here. Enjoy the last football game for seven months. And, uh, we'll talk to you guys next week.
