fam? It is Rumble Week. We are going to be doing a big preview of all four matches we have for Rumble 25. I kind of dig the four match card, though. I've got some figure reviews. I'm going to be talking Saturday night's main event. But first, let me introduce the star of the show, Sheena. How you doing? You know I'm doing well. Shane, tell us what's new on the farm. Nothing yesterday. I just did a lot of cleaning up getting ready for um spring planting. You know, like I said last week, I feel like everybody just thinks, Oh, when the summer starts, that's when you start putting the seeds in the ground. But this is really like go time for gardeners, you got to get everything pripped seed started, get your seedlings going. and um yeah so You got to get over at this point. Once the summer starts, it's already WrestleMania season. yeah You're already in it, pal. yeah i mean I think you know if you're if you're a beginning gardener, um I think a lot of times you can start there because you just a lot of people will buy um just like seed starts from like the stores. right You go to Home Depot or wherever and buy a bunch of seed starts, right um which is totally fine. like I used to do that as well. but um I start all of my seeds here from from seed, so you kind of got to get a jump start on

All right, you ready to get into some wrestling? Let's go. All right, so quickly, let's start off. We had the second of the rebooted Saturday Night's Main Event took place on, well, Saturday night.

head Just four matches on this one. Again, I kind of like this. I look at this as it was almost like a Royal Rumble spillover card. Back a handful of years ago, we were getting nine and 10 match Rumble cards, man. I know. It was weird. I was just looking at some old Royal Rumble cards, because I was looking at some stuff. And I was like, damn, dude. There was 10 matches on this card. It was a full-ass feature-length paper view. And then it was just two of the matches happened to be hour-long Royal Rumbles, man. And it just didn't work, dude. That was during that time where It seemed like they were just trying to just beat us into exhaustion to make us, you know, I think we enjoyed what we were watching. um So like I said, I feel like, you know, we're on breaker versus Seamus for sure. Strowman versus Jacob Fatu, Gunther versus JU. So I feel like all three of those matches are probably on the rumble in years gone past. But, you know, we had this nice little kind of appetizer get us set up.

um And I thought it was a good show, man. You know, there again, no title changes. I saw people criticizing that, but I still thought that this was, I didn't think it was AEW Battle of the Belts. I thought it was a worthwhile show. We had some angles, some story development, stuff happened. Yeah, I agree. Some stuff happened. I did i wish there would have been a little bit of, um you know, swap-a-roosky, right? I wish there would have been a little title change, especially with um Seamus. I was kind of disappointed that Seamus didn't get his final, you know, Infinity Stone.

But um other than that yeah i agree with you but i think you do have to at some point make these saturday night main events like. something that people have to watch because you know but yeah the the the nostalgia and like the you know the excitement for something new is going to wear off eventually, right? like I feel like you got to really do something to to church it up a bit. Yeah, for better or worse, wrestling fans have just come to associate like if the title didn't change hands, like nothing happened. you know so i I don't think that. I don't believe that, but I just think Well, I mean, then why why do you say it it needs to be something that people have to watch? Because I thought this was awesome,
Royal Rumble Analysis and Predictions

dude. We saw Shawn Michaels give a super kick to Kevin Owens. Jacob Fatou have sent, you know, Braun Strowman to the freaking hospital. Like, and Gunther and Jey Uso had a hell of a match, man. One of Jey Uso's best matches ever. So I thought there was... To me, if you sat down and I feel like yeah, if you look at the recap afterwards, you're probably like, yeah, not that much happened. But if you sit down and watch these shows, there was a lot going on, man. I thought it, aside from the, aside from the, re I feel like the Rhea and Nia Jax and the Brown Breaker and Seamus, those were both matches, just to have matches. But I felt like the, the second half of that show really delivered on some compelling stuff that's going to affect, you know, what we see on WWE over the rest of the year.

Obviously I've felt that really passionately in the moment because dude the crowd was just ready to explode for and dude put on a hell of a performance. um Gunther's just got Jay's number dude. I mean it's just at this point I don't know. Yeah I mean we've seen Jay lose. The thing is Jay's the most over baby face on the roster right now but we've seen him lose so many big matches over the last year. He did get the intercontinental title win but he lost it back to the same guy he beat you know four weeks later so it's kind of just like a seem like it was more of a blip on the radar than any kind of level up for Jay. I don't know. I mean, maybe you historically, WWE's got a ah problem with stretching it out just a beat or two too far when

Yeah, it's not the same as Cody because we saw Cody lose and it took him a whole year to get back the rematch. We've seen Jay fight multiple times for the World Heavyweight Championship. You know, he lost going for the Intercontinental Championship a bunch of times before he finally got it. So.

It felt like it felt like the yeet movement was at a peak on Saturday night And I don't know I would have loved to see him win it even if it was just to turn around and have a rematch at the Rumble where he drops it back man I still think he could have done it Lex Luger style win the belt for a week And I think it still would have done what you needed to do and it really would have affected any long-term Storytelling and it would have done like you said she knew it would have created an absolute can't miss moment for Saturday night's main event So I don't know what do you think should you so I have won that match? I I think so, especially like I said, considering he's lost to Gunther twice in the past already, right? Like he bla what was at the king of the ring. He got put out by Gunther lost for the intercontinental championship. Yeah. And now he's lost this. Yeah. So Gunther's beat him a few times. Yeah. So I don't know. i Like you said, I feel like they could have done it and just brought it all back to where it didn't make that big of an impact on like the mania season. But you know, here we are. I don't want to sound too much like a WWE shield, but I really felt like it was overblown. And this was a pretty dang good Saturday night. I mean, it's what else are you going to, if you're a wrestling fan, what else are you going to do? Like, you know, collis collision has been great, but it wasn't even close to moving the needle compared to some of the stuff we saw from WWE in, uh, in San Antonio. I think it was a successful event. I mean, they had like, you know, how many freaking, it was like millions and millions and millions of views. So, you know.

You can even go to three matches for me, man. I'd be cool with a Rumble, a pallet cleanser in the middle, and then, you know, a Rumble after if they had to, but I get it. They want to give people their money's worth.

I mean, we're in the the declaration era, right? Where it's just like, um, all you do is, uh, you just show up to either raw or smack down and you just declare for the Royal Rumble, whether, you know, it feels warranted or not. Obviously most of the people in the rumble so far, are like it's no surprise that they're in the rumble, but I just feel like, you know, we need to, we need to do something again to make the rumble entrance meaningful. I think I like this better where everybody just, you know, you just declare, right? Like Michael Scott declared bankruptcy. You just declare for the Royal Rumble because what we had in years past is you'd have a mix where some people would just come out and declare and then just randomly, some people would have to win a qualifying match or something to get in. Right, but also, but now we're in the era where I'm like, well, I mean, why did this person not declare? You know what I mean? Does this person really not want to be in the main event? You know what I mean? Like, then you're wondering, like, we know what the fuck is your problem? Why didn't you declare for the rumble? I think you need to go back to the old school way to just have it, kick it up to the event center. And you would have me and Gene just listing off. These are our current remember entries in the rumble. And there was just no rhyme or reason. You just assumed that there was, you know, yeah Jack Tunney was in the back, like filling out the list of who's going to make it. because

You're right. Like for some people it's like, why aren't you declared? But you never know. how Yeah. I mean, I can overlook that. That's absolutely 100% a nitpick. they got They got a lot of hours of TV to fill every week. So I can be a little bit more, I can be forgiving on that. It definitely feels like the men's rumble is shaping up to be an all-timer. The men's rumble is stacked. We only know about 15 people. It's loaded and there's a solid like probably seven people at least that they got a realistic shot at winning this thing. The women's definitely feels like a little bit of an afterthought to me this year. feel yeah like charff I feel like it's Charlotte and then everybody else. they They made a late scramble to try to get some push for it to to to get it some height, but I don't know. It feels like the it feels like the the men's rumble has just been front and center in so many ways this year, and that the women's has been a little bit of ah just, you know, we're doing it because we have to.

Yeah, I do think eventually when there's a two night format, I think it might be a little bit better, right? and That's gonna help a ton. It's gonna help. um But it's just, yeah, I mean, no, but all the women in the women's rumble, like they're all awesome. But it just feels like stability. It's just a hodgepodge. gotten almost no attention compared to the the men's I guess we'll start there. So, you know, but as mentioned, the the women's rumble really hasn't gotten a ton of attention. I think the problem is that you know You already have Rhea and Tiffy as your champs. They're probably the two hottest females as far as fan interest goes right now, man. And Liv's up there, but it almost it feels like Liv's on a little bit of a cool down after the amazing 2024 that she had. So to me, aside from you know Charlotte, all the hype around her return, it doesn't feel like there's anybody else really peaking right now.

Yeah, we can have Becky. good job Becky could be back. AJ Lee. AJ, we've heard that she's open to doing something. Nikki Bella. Nikki's return. i wouldn't almost guaranteed Nikki's going to be in a strong chance. Jordan Grace is back in this year. oh yeah i can see her sorry was able to be now I will point out that she got on social media yesterday cause one of the dirt sheets reported that she's a hundred percent going to be in the rumble. She said that she's a hundred percent hosting her mom's birthday party this week and even produced an airline ticket showing, you know, that she's going to be in, I think it was Atlanta a weekend, but you know, take that with a grain of salt. I'm expecting to see her there. I think she's just, I think she's working the, working the dirt sheets.

I feel like they've had their chance to shine. A lot of times they've been on the raws on air Smackdowns on either side of the pay-per-view, you know, either the Smackdown or the raw the night after the pay-per-views or the, the Smackdowns that night before.

And it's worked out. They've been in a big spot, whereas maybe they get overshadowed if they're on, you know, if they're match three on an eight match pay-per-view. To me, this is just going to be like the work rate. I could see this one opening, or, you know, if the women's rumble opens, I could see this corner right after it. Probably big match of the night potential here. um Two out of three falls, Motor City Machine Guns versus DIY. Either team could win. If I'm if i'm picking, I think DIY probably retains the belts, but I think this is really gonna be a showcase for the Motor City Machine Guns for the folks that haven't had a chance to see them. See them do what they do on the biggest stage. I think they're really gonna impress some people and we'll see if DIY at this point, man,

We're basically like eight years away from like peak DIY on NXT when they were really kind of some of the best workers in the biz. I think it's going to be a good chance to see if they still got it. They're still at the tippy top. Sometimes he doesn't but the rumble he's always there 2016 He fought Dean Ambrose in an awesome no holds barred match for the Intercontinental Championship 2017 he defended the he defended the Universal Championship against Roman Reigns 2021 rumble he fought Roman Reigns for the belt in Falls County anywhere 2023 rumble he fought Roman again for the belt and And now he's facing Cody, man. So yeah, KO always shows up big time when it's ah Rumble season. Mr. Royal Rumble. Yeah. All right. Let's get to the big one. Men's Rumble. Yeah. Just again, we'll see. It's probably impossible for it to live up to the expectations we have going in right now. I don't think so. I think it's going to be awesome. but ah

I mean, obviously like John Cena is doing his fair Farewell tour this year. um So I mean there's a very real possibility that seen it could win my Spidey senses are telling me that punks walking away with this one, dude I just feel like it's it's the moment um you got a strike while that while the irons hot um and um Get him his main event at a WrestleMania. I think as far as overness goes I think you got Cena CM Punk and Jey Uso, man I think those are three that are most over and

I feel like Jey Uso and John Cena are winning some combination of the elimination chamber and the rumble man. Yeah, the but doesn't the elimination chamber have stakes on it too? Yeah, whoever wins the elimination chamber fights for the other belt. So one WrestleMania challenger is determined by the rumble, the other is determined by elimination chamber. So I think i think it's gonna be Cena and Jey Uso. And I think they may end up being the last two, man. I think you may see one of them win the,

Yeah, we kind of touched on this earlier. I think it's going to make a world of difference if they do. I mean, if they do take it two nights, so you're having the men's rumble on one and the women's rumble on the other. Yeah, that'll help a ton. I don't think it hurts the aura, especially not for the men's. The women, you know, I hope I'm not coming across as like misogynistic. The women's rumble for the most part, like aside from that year, Becky was on her big run. It's always come across as kind of like a throw in. um So, and so I don't think it takes away from him.
