I'm doing great just hanging out NFL playoffs start today pretty excited for that snowing out right now up here projected to get just a small five to eight inches nothing crazy for up here but yeah ready to go ready to roll ready to kick some butt with my picks today Yeah. Yeah. We got three to four inches here in Texas, which was diabolical. And it was really cold, 18 degrees. And my throat is a little raspy, but we're powering on. I've got three to four inches.

to start off this episode with what we are playing because it's been awhile. We haven't done this in like a month or more. Um, so we got some games that we've played. We're going to get into that. And then the main topic of discussion today is going to be our fantasy draft for 2025. This is going to be a lot of fun. Um, I'll get into the specifics later, but we're going to be drafting six games each and we're going to score it at the end and see who won. It's going to be a lot of fun. Um, but let's go ahead and get started with what we are playing.

um Let me take a look at the order. So let's go ahead and just kind of flip the order a little bit. um Let's go with you, Sean, first. What have you been playing, sir? I've been playing a plethora of games. Before we get started, I just want to mention I did get the Platinum and Visions of Mana. I mentioned that I was right. I got it like literally the day after we recorded.

So like the last time we did what we were playing, but I did just get another platinum and I got it today. And that is try breaker, try breaker, not try break, not try Baker, try breaker. And I got the PS5 version, which is like the harder, more difficult version to get, not the easy PS4 version.

um This is like ah for those who don't know, Tribraker, it's like a brick breaker, but there's also the Tribraker like Tribraker. The first game was called Twinbreaker. And it was like ah it was like a brick breaker game. This has the brick breaker elements, but they also added in like this is like Frogger. lot There's a Frogger level where you have to like cross. it It's pretty cool. There's a snake level. There's like a Gallica level. Like there's a bunch of like it's just a throwback to old classic games. um Stories is like kind of crazy. Just for those who don't know, it's like by Colin Moriarty and um

chris rayon and dustin firman are the main characters it's pretty funny if you are you know air into that sacred symbols lore um story doesn't really make any it's just like a fun fun little story um the game was really fun it was addicting it's like classic gameplay really fun to get the platinum though you had to get You have to S rank all 40 levels on normal and on hard. And there were like four levels on hard mode that took me probably the amount of time to S rank everything else. Wow. Just because there's like four levels that were really difficult to do. um But I did it. Got it this morning. It probably I probably played the game for a total of maybe like 10 hours, 10 or 11 hours to the platinum. It was fun. Enjoyable. If you like arcade games, like classic arcade, like arcade style games from like the early 80s.

Definitely play this game. The Frogger level was fun. That was like, I was like, whoa, Frogger. um That was pretty funny. But yeah, Trybreaker. Right on, right on. Yeah, I don't have any comments. I know the game. i yeah Yeah, it's a Lily Mo game for those who don't know. That's the studio that they have. um I actually have back there my ah I did the special editions.

Well, I got they sent me just the box for one of them because I didn't need both special editions, but I did get the other special edition, which it's a PS4 copy, right? p s There's a PS5 and a PS4 version.

OK, yeah, I don't remember which one they sent me, but ah so I now that I have a disk drive on my PlayStation, I can finally play Super Barrels Apparel of Baking. But I actually I played the twin breaker and I got filtered when it got to the three or the four paddles or whatever. I could not do that to save my life, so I kind of quit on it. But hearing that this one is different, where it's not just Brit breaker, I actually I think I'm going to give it a try.

Yeah, and there's no four paddle levels. There's no four paddle. level Oh, thank God. I think they restricted it to two paddle levels is actually. Oh, there's also a pong. level There's ah a couple of pong levels in there. Oh, hell yeah. Like you're playing against a computer and like it's like score on them. It's pretty cool. Yeah, that's sweet. Yeah. The ah I love twin breaker games like like are, you know, the pop those paddle type game break breaker is what they are called.

I love brick breaker games back in the day. I would always play them on the PC when you get to levels that's like an apple and then you go to a watermelon, like all that kind of stuff. I remember I loved that. So, yeah, I'll definitely I'll probably give that one to try eventually because I yeah, I like to win breaker until the four battles. Yeah, I I think this game is better. Nice. Yeah, I remember Colin even said on the podcast, he's like, I didn't realize people were all saying that the four battles is too hard. I didn't I didn't think so. But I was like, well,

They were for me, so. But yeah. Yeah, what else you playing? All right. OK, so this is a little disappointing. I'm playing EZX right now. EZX. EZ is a Neon Falcom series, same developers of Trails. um I usually like the EZ games a lot. It's different than Trails, though. It's not like an overarching narrative. Like you can play the games in any order. It's the same main character, but all the stories are standalone and they make like like in the games don't come out in like the appropriate like order of like the time like time periods like for example like four takes place before I mean after eight which is like just weird but again you can play them in any order um and I've started up ease access came out or ease 10 however you want to say ease 10 it came out in October of last year um I'm really disappointed um

Really, really disappointed in East 10. The combat, they changed the combat up a little bit. They made it much more like Souls like and it's. It's what not not Souls like it's it controls like a Souls game, but the game is so easy. Like it's a lot easier. The combat's not deep at all. um The game's not fun. I don't like playing it. ah yeah this The story is really.

I'm not clicking with the story yet. It's only been, it's all I've only put it for three hours, so it's not a lot. But I have not clicked with the story yet, not like the other Ys games. So I'm a little disappointed in that. I am gonna keep trying though. I am gonna keep trying because, you know, some of these times it takes, you know, just takes a little bit. um I do like, um like the setting of the game is a little different. um A lot of times the setting is like this like,

Like the setting in this one is much more like that. The areas are much more diverse. So but yeah, I'm a little disappointed. um So kind of stinks, but we'll see how we'll see how it plays out. Right on. Right on. Yeah. East. I do want to get to an East game. but I have East eight installed on my PS five right now. I've heard that's one of the best ones. So yeah, eight is my favorite one overall. I've heard eight and nine are awesome. And I've i've heard a lot of people like 10 as well.

But maybe maybe it'll get better for you. I don't know I heard I've heard that the the female character Karja or whatever um Starts off kind of bitchy, but like she gets better. So I don't know um Maybe maybe you'll like the game more or maybe it will be your dragons dogma to moment Sean. You never know ah Yeah, we might be my dragon's dog. You'll be like screw this game. It sucks and I'm quitting it. I Guess we will see

All right. Next on the list. Oh, oh this is going to be a fun one. I'm playing. I played some Infinity Nikki, the nice little dress up game. Nice. um So this game, not going to lie, it is. it's It's pretty fun. All right. It is pretty fun. um It's like an exploration platform. There are some platformer aspects. There's a lot more platformer aspects than I imagine. Hodge, I think you'd like the platforming aspects of it. um There is like a dress up aspect where you're dressing up your character.

I have not spent any extra money on this game, i'm not going and I won't. But um they they are pretty generous with the... um like the You can earn currency in the game, and they are pretty generous with giving it to you. ah You can buy outfits and and dress her up, but I'm not really playing for the dress up aspect. The story is surprisingly... Dark, it opens up with like a crazy. I don't want to spoil it for those who are going to play it, but it opens up with like a crazy, like really dark scene that doesn't really go with the rest of the game. um She's a pretty upbeat character as well. She's always like looking on the bright side of things and always like, oh, don't worry, like it's everything's going to be all right. Like I'm here to help you. Don't worry. She's like wants to help everyone. It is pretty fun. Platform is good. I am going to beat it. Definitely going to beat it.

But yeah, Infinity Nikki, nice little fun exploration platformer. I know Hodge is, I know you guys want to play this game so well. I very remember very well watching this trailer at one of the, whatever showcase it was at, and just being like, I hate everything about this. Oh my god, I hated it.

But I'm happy you're enjoying it. You know, it does look like a a nice, relaxing, ah chill out chill vibes game. um So, you know, I'll give you that I'm not gonna hate on you. Who knows? Maybe one day I'll play it. I doubt it. But um I mean, it looks charming and relaxing. And if you just want to go around a nice looking world and do some platforming and, you know, relax, I guess. ah Not a bad choice, I guess I'm not gonna hate.

Yeah, I mean, some of the some of the outfits give you like different abilities. Like there's one outfit that gives you like a gliding ability, which is pretty cool. One outfit lets you jump higher. um It's fun, but like there's no it's not like a combat game. It's like just like a platformer. So standard platformer. And there's other characters in the game you can talk to and stuff. The gotcha stuff is pretty bad, though, like they're trying to make you like buy stuff like there's one thing that guarantees you like a five star item. And it's like, oh, you guys spend like 10 bucks or something.

um So this game is essentially the Turtles Shredder's Revenge game, but with Power Rangers. It is awesome, but it's like a classic. beat know there's like You know how in Turtles you can upgrade your characters.

In this Power Rangers game, you don't upgrade your character. So it's like all about like the gameplay. you gotta You have to get better. So so like be good at it. The game is set up in stages. There's like three stages equals like an episode. So it's like you playing episode one. It's like three different stages. And it's like they break it down like Power Rangers. In between episodes, you're hanging out at like the um Like the... I don't know, in Power Rangers, Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers is a cartoon. They used to hang out at this pool hall almost where they get soda and play arcade games and stuff. And in between episodes, you can hang out there and walk around as the Power Rangers out without their costumes on. Ah, the art style is so nice. I love it. It's like a SNES game, beat-em-up game.

uh enemies are really cool um there's so many all the different bosses are just like different power rangers bosses from like ah over the years it's so cool there's like um a mechanic in the game that it is the reason why it's called rida's rewind is because like rida is like an enemy from power and it's like a huge boss she comes there's a future version of her that goes back in the past and she's trying to like she teams up with her past self but there's an aspect in the game in the middle of a level where enemies will come in and bring this like tank of like just like green goo and if you don't blow it up in time the level like rewinds and like the enemies that you killed like come back it's pretty cool um'm I'm enjoying it um um I beat the game once I'm trying to beat it on hard mode now

um The one thing I'll say is this does have co-op. But right now, if you're going to do online co-op, you can only play as two-player co-op. You can't do four-player. So it's only four-player couch co-op. I know. um And the online is like kind of broken, where it takes forever to find someone. A lot of times, you'll be looking for someone, and it will just like time out. You'll invite someone, and the match won't it just won't work. Funny thing, i actually you know the guy who you know ah the website PSN profiles?

Yeah, there's a guy on the the guy who runs the site is trying to get the platinum because like like barely anyone's got the platinum so far He's trying to get the platinum and I actually teamed up with him like randomly I randomly like joined his game and then he messaged music on from PSN profiles Oh, I mean like he did this whole thing with me and I'm like, oh, that's pretty cool It is cool to just run around as different Rangers. I will say ah Kimberly the pink Ranger She is like by far the weakest which is kind of weird because it's like that Wow, he made the pink range of the root. Yeah, just pretty funny Um, the yellow Ranger, I really am liking. She, her combat's awesome. Like all the different characters play a little differently, which is cool. Uh, blue Ranger's

Yeah, that this game, it looked it looks awesome because this is the kind of game I grew up on. I had a Ninja Turtles game for any NES and I love playing these types of games growing up. And I love Power Rangers. I actually just ah for Christmas, I bought my buddy. He's a huge Power Rangers fan. I bought him a bust of ah the Green Ranger and ah gave it to him and he he loves it. But yeah, this is um I might actually Maybe one day I'll get this game and just play it with him because he would he would love that. He's not a huge gamer. He's kind of one of the casuals of like he'll play Fortnite hell divers and cod kind of guys. But he loves Power Rangers, so I could probably get him to get him to play this game. It looks sweet. Sucks about the online, though. Yeah, I spent two hours trying to match up with someone. Are you trying to get the platinum?

Yeah, it's ridiculously hard, though. like you can't it's ah It's almost impossible to do it on your own. Try to beat the game on hard mode by yourself. And if you do that, then you unlock like the extreme difficulty. And like try to do that. like It's almost impossible to do by yourself. like For Shredder's Revenge, I want to get the Platinum, but I'm one trophy away, and it's beating the game, two trophies away. It's beating the game on the hardest difficulty, which is, again, not designed for one person, and beating Shredder without getting hit at the end.

um We're getting back into it. They added the Illuminate, which is the new villain. they They're called the Vote List because, you know, in true parody of this game, it's... These people don't have the right to vote, so they're the enemy and in a democracy. So ah it's yeah it's really fun. it's It's really difficult, too. We we play on level 10, which is ah the mode that they added because people were saying that 9, which is Helldivers mode, is too easy. So they added an even harder one. And it is tough, but it's a whole lot of fun. I'm loving my time with it. I don't have really much else to say on top of that. It's just one of those games where hopping in and playing with your friends is

some of the most fun you can have. I haven't been playing it as much as I want recently, but I've also been chipping away at indie. I'm really loving this game. As I talked about the other week, if I had finished it, there's a chance so far it would have at least been in the talk or in the running for game of the year, if not winning it, but it it captures the vibe of those first three films perfectly. Troy Baker does an amazing job as indie, even though my only complaint about him is um he does like the mumbly indie more than like the iss like emotional indie. Like, because, you know, like there's the there's a part in Temple of Doom where they're stuck in a thing that the ceiling is coming down and is going to kill him. And so she's trying to turn the lever to turn it off. And he he pops his head through the hole and he goes, we are going to die. And it's this hilarious moment. And I just feel like Troy can't hit that emotionality, but he really has like his soft spoken indie down.

But on that, the gameplay, like I said, is amazing. It's like dishonored both out superpowers. It's you find your own way to beat these missions. It's a semi open world where you go to different areas and their side missions and stuff. And it's a lot of fun. I'm loving this game. I can't wait to get back to it. um But yeah, as of right now, I don't have much else to add to it. I don't know if you guys have anything to say about that before I move on.

And then I've also been playing this mini putt game. And that one is a whole lot of fun just being on these like super just crazy cartoon courses. There's like a Christmas one where you're playing as like a you're kind of like the Nutcracker where you're just kind of at Below the tree and you go up in the ornaments and stuff like that. I was playing that one during Christmas a lot Obviously and then just other levels. It's you know, there's a pirate level. There's like haunted castle. Well, it's it's just a really cool game But yeah, I'm enjoying my time at PS VR, too I'm happy that I waited for it to be on that holiday sale because I

And, uh, when you move him forward in the map, you start gliding forward with him and I get motion sickness with that. So I couldn't, like, I was able to play the demo for Moss because you're just kind of looking down on it as if it's like a diorama. And so you can play it that way. But yeah, with Astro with it, moving your camera, I wasn't able to play it because of the motion sickness. because

So every game I play, I have to do standalone, which it sucks because that limits some games that I'm like, I would love to try RE7 in VR, even though it scared the piss out of me. But I don't want to teleport and ah in a horror game because I feel like that kind of ruins the immersion. And but I don't know. But ah other than that, I'm yeah like I said, I'm enjoying it.

The plot was cute, you know, it's just kind of a kid's story type thing. ah And but it's also really interesting how it's like, there's magic that you can cause to transfer yourself from the book into real life and then go into other stories that have different art styles, which is the coolest part of it. Like, the book is this really cute, cartoony children's book look. But then if you go into like, a that you go into like a dinosaur lunchbox or whatever. I can't remember what it was exactly. But you like and it has a different art style. There's the space area that is different. It's all cool. It has different art styles. And then when you bring something from a different world into the book, it still has an art style. It doesn't turn into the cartoon. So it looks different. And it's really cool. And then just obviously, you know, they are they're not shy about that, how they took inspiration from other games like the Mike Tyson's Punch Out or

that i camera with a ship, one where you fly up and down, you're shooting both ways. I can't remember what that get. Reso gun, I think. No, I can't remember what it's called. But anyway, they ah it took inspiration from all these other games and I'm loving it. And obviously, as a platformer whore, I enjoyed it for that alone. But yeah, it was a really fun game. I'm happy I spent my time with it. It was like, you know, an eight hour game or something like that. So it was pretty quick and it was a nice portal game. If I was sitting there watching TV, just played on the portal. But yeah, I liked it.

The game is still broken for me. It's still remember how it broke for me and I couldn't press any buttons and I had to start the entire game. It was still I got back to that part and it was still broken for me. Oh, that sucks. I did hit a couple of bugs where I had to restart the game, but it never stayed. So, and you know, every character there's no no betrayal or anything. Every character is pure hearted kind of except for the enemy. And so it's it's a really fun, typical kid's story where the good guys, are the good guys, bad guys, the bad guys. And it was a lot of fun. up But that RPG fight in the card.

But yeah, I honestly, my biggest issue with it the first time I remember was the pacing, because you do 10 hours as Ellie, then 10 hours as Abby, and then five hours as Ellie again. And it's just like this game is way too long. And I don't like that. it You should be rotating between the characters more often than 10 hours, then 10 hours, then five hours. It should be day one, day one, day two, day two, day three, day three, and then the end. I think stuff like that would have improved it. but

ah Starting off with Thronebreaker, a Witcher's Tale. This is the game that I mentioned before that I was playing. It's kind of like a ah the Gwent based card based combat with like a 3D overworld where you walk around and interact with people and make choices. And there's a cool story. um It's about a war and betrayal and stuff. And you're playing as Queen Maeve of a Rivia and and some other place. It's been a while. It's been like a month since I played it. I already forgot.

This is where I need to go. This is where it became so much more fluid and easy. um I enjoyed the combat. The combat was pretty cool. It was kind of souls light. um Some of the battles were actually pretty tough, like against the bosses were actually kind of hard. um But yeah, it was a good game. Kazuma Kiryu instead you were playing as him plus like this money lender dude plus like a cop and it was really good I liked all the characters actually there was a fourth there was a fourth too There was, you play as four characters, almost forgot. um But yeah, so there's four different characters. They kind of merged all the stories together and you get to the end and there's like a fight where you're kind of switching between all four of them. I really liked this game a lot. The story was pretty good. It wasn't the best Yakuza story ever, but it was good. um As always, the fun hijinks on the side. um I'm on my quest to play all these and beat all these games in and order so that I can get to the latest and greatest. You know, I want to play eight.

Um, cause I had to replay this, but, uh, I get there. I beat three bosses. I'm on the last boss and I don't have any healing potions at all. And I'm facing two bosses and like 15 ads. And I tried so hard. I tried like 10 times to beat this thing. I could not beat it without healing. Um, and I had to go back and reload my last save, which, and buy a bunch of healing potions and then replay the whole thing, replay all the boss fights, watch all these unskippable cut scenes kind of pissed me off at the end.

It really depends on the matchmaking and the team balancing. um Some games, are it's very imbalanced, I found. Some games you steamroll people and some games you get steamrolled. And there's very little in between, like there's not very good competitive balancing, I would say. ah It needs maybe some more skill, some better skill-based matchmaking. I don't know. I hate skill-based matchmaking, but they need a little bit in there. They need to, they need to balance the teams, because I find a lot of landslides in this. um But I'll just keep it short. It's OK. I'm still playing it.

I actually really enjoy playing as Groot because he throws up all these walls, which block damage and also trap people. um And then he puts those hands on people or those trees on them, just beating people up with your trees, throwing spores on them. um His ultimate is like a big tree thing that like shoots out and pulls people in. um You know, so you just grab them and then beat them down. and So Groot is actually a lot of fun when I want to tank.
