playing here. All right. That's perfect. um To start off, I am I finished the first game in the Lunar collection. I had talked about it last main episode where I had started the first one.

Um, yeah, I really, really loved that game. I'm so glad they released the collection because it gave me a chance to, you know, experience these 32 bit JRPGs that I missed out on. um I can't believe I missed out on this. I was saying, was saying to somebody, I can't remember who I was saying it to, but um like, I am shocked. I didn't have this game as a kid or like my dad didn't buy it, you know, when it came out, this game the original came out before I was born.

But like I'm shocked that my dad didn't have it because this is like right up his alley. And it's like right up right up my all right up our alley of just gaming. I'm surprised it wasn't a game I played in like the mid-2000s. um But yeah, I finished the first one.

Phenomenal game. Great turn-based combat. Great artwork. um I'm not going lie. The story at the end there. Got a little teary-eyed. Not crying, but a little teary-eyed with not tears of sadness, but tears of joy.

there's ah There's something that happens at the end of the game. And bring it it kind of warmed my heart up a little bit. Gave me some hope. Didn't really see it coming. So I was really, really happy with it. I highly suggest it. I put it on Switch.

But, ah you know, I throw in the occasional Wii game, JRPG game, um and I'm having fun kind of catching up with a lot of games that I missed. So, ah which we'll get into when I get to mine. So that's pretty cool.

um Not like on a cliffhanger, but it leaves off like you wanting more, like you want more of the story. So I am pretty interested because I know the sequel starts a thousand years in the future, but they make there's a lot of references back and it is somehow, they are connected.

So like you're supposed to play the first game before you play the second one, even though the second one's a thousand years in the future. So it's going to be interesting to see how they connect them. Okay. Sounds good. I'll put it on my wish list.

And as I like to do, I put all these JRPGs on my wishlist on Steam and PlayStation and stuff. And if I see a really good sale, now I'll just buy it. You know what i mean? A lot of these JRPGs I picked up for like five bucks, ten bucks, like really good deals. So that's the way to do it.

All right. um What else have you been playing, sir? Alright, what else have I been playing? I've been playing Pokemon Yellow Legacy. Now, for those who listened last episode, I was playing Pokemon Crystal Legacy, which was, I got into it it's like a mod to make the Pokemon game a little bit more challenging, a little bit more like you remember when you were a kid.

Um, lot of, um, quality of life improvements, you know, running shoes, um, updated move sets, updated learn sets, uh, gym leaders, um, better type, a better, um, party from the gym leaders.

Just overall, it's a more high quality, better experience. And I'm playing on hardcore mode. So again, hardcore Nuzlocke rules where I'm not, if I, you know, if if i lose a pokemon i you know i can't use him again i he goes automatically to the box and you can't take him out again no healing items in battle uh battle mode set to set it's really fun i'm really enjoying it i'm two two gyms in right now uh yeah i'm really enjoying it i got my pikachu sparky love him nicknamed him sparky that's part of the nuzlocke rules you gotta nickname your pokemon

But yeah, it's more Pokemon. You know, I love my Pokemon, and I'm really excited because we got the official release date for a Pokemon Legends ZA.

which is going to be coming out. And I think it was October. They said, and it's going to, I'm going to get the switch to version because the switch to version is going to be running it. Amazingly. I am so excited for, and I'm really excited to check out the switch to enhancement for Pokemon Scarlet and violet.

Starting at number one, I got Politoed. Number one. It's a generation two Pokemon. what It is ah part of the Poliwhirl evolution line. I love Politoed. He's freaking awesome. ah Number two is Trico from generation three. He's one of the great. He's the grass starter. Freaking love Trico.

I have played three games since we've been away. It's only been two weeks. I finished Claire Obscure Expedition 33, and I have a hot take for this game because i do not think this game is a masterpiece. I do not think this game is a lock for Game of the Year like everyone else thinks.

Act 3 was rushed, and I thought both endings were very very depressing, very bad, and one of the endings completely invalidated a lot of the journey itself and the in the first place. so um And I'm just like, they could have very easily created like a third ending that was a bit happier, um but ah and I would have preferred that personally.

And it just creates a completely dismal, depressing outcome either way that you slice it. And it's just like, well, this whole journey and all these characters, what was the point if this is what I'm looking at? So, but the actual journey was amazing.

I don't think it's a shoe in for game of the year, like people say, but because so many people are saying it, it actually might win it because a lot of critics are saying that.

I've actually done most of the optional bosses now. I have one... Other than... I'm i'm doing the Endless Tower. I'm about nine i'm nine floors in, like nine stages in. There's three stages, three like events per stage.

um There's 11 stages, so a total of 33. And I'm on nine, two right now. um It's really fun. But yeah, some of these bosses are really challenging. A lot of them, I'm like um dying the first time. I have to get the...

ah um Perry combat down. Like I have to learn their parrying and then go into it, but yeah, there it's, it's pretty difficult, but I'm in like the low nineties level wise for everyone. So I'm like super powerful, but still like really difficult. Like if you miss a parry, I'm like, Oh, well I I'm screwed now.

It would be Octopath Traveler 2, but that game didn't come out this year, so it doesn't count. um As far as games that actually came out this year, I beat Octopath Traveler 2, Mafia.

I'm so sorry. Excuse me. I should have muted Batman, Disco Elysium, Ys VIII, Avowed, Avowed's a game this year, Control, Persona 3, South of Midnight came out this year, Assassin's Creed Shadows came out this year, and Claire Obscure.

So I think I've only played four games that actually launched in 2025, and of those four games, Claire is the winner right now. So Claire Obscure is currently my game of the year. It's better than Avowed, South of Midnight, and Assassin's Creed Shadows.

I thought this game was really good. I would give it an eight out of 10, I think, on a Midnight Critic. And the the story was incredible. The story was really good.

The characters were really good. The combat was really fun. I beat the game on ah Jedi Knight difficulty, which is like the standard difficulty. So I didn't play it on story mode. Some of the fights were a little tough, but it wasn't too bad. I was able to power through and get my wins.

um The one complaint that I have with this game is the traversal and the exploration. um I actually enjoyed the traversal and exploration. like It was good, but my complaint is that there's just too much of it.

um There were some stages where literally it was like two... I'm not even kidding. I'm not exaggerating. It was like two hours of traversal puzzles and like just navigating the map in order to get to the boss to to continue the story, really.

And I'm like, I don't need two hours of doing the same climbing and jump puzzles and stuff. You know what i mean? Like that they could ah they could have done 45 minutes here and I think I would have had more fun.

And if they did that and respected my time a little bit more, I would have felt more inclined to do more of the side stuff, which I skipped a lot of the side stuff because I was spending two hours on a main mission. You know what i mean?
