What is

Catching Up on Wrestling News

00:00:23
Speaker
up Foley fam? We are back with a special Fyter Fest edition of the Chick-fil-A show. It's Wednesday night right before another big WWE PLE weekend and AEW has blessed us with four straight hours of live wrestling. So we're going to be watching the second half of Fyter Fest and catching you guys up on all the

Aesthetic Musings on Wrestlers

00:00:39
Speaker
news of the week. and Before we get into it, let me introduce the star of the show. Sheena, how you doing?
00:00:44
Speaker
I'm doing good. We were just, before we started taping, talking about Ospreay's new hair, how he got a perm. But then Hangman came out. I think Hangman may have went to the same stylist and got his hair curled up a little bit. He's looking he's looking shorter and curlier in the last couple months. curly tonight.
00:00:58
Speaker
Yeah. So, I mean, it's even more so, though. I think it's like, I mean, those are some fresh curls, dog. Those are like... you know I still think Hangman's another thing to say keep him from winning that belt at all in. I don't think he's getting it until he goes back with the long flowing locks and the the Shawn Michaels style

Dining Experiences and Discomforts

00:01:12
Speaker
tights, dude. I don't think i't yeah the over the boot pants are true baby face gear, man.
00:01:17
Speaker
yeah Jordan, man, real quick, how was the Brazilian steakhouse? We got to get a follow up. It was good. um if As expected, it was a lot. Yeah. A lot of meat was ah ingested that evening and I didn't bo didn't feel good for two days after that. so it was in Your body just totally shut down. It did. And like even the beginning of this week, I kind of felt like shit. I'm like, dude, what the

Wrestlers' Gear and Persona Impact

00:01:41
Speaker
fuck? Probably should have mixed in some sides there.
00:01:44
Speaker
He needed a little fiber in there to keep keep things moving. So I will say Jordan is something of a savant when it comes to wrestlers looks and their gear. He was calling for Roman Reigns to ditch the vest a full five years.
00:01:57
Speaker
Well, before he finally did it. And we all know that once Roman took Jordan's advice, he ascended to a whole new level. ah Jordan, man, we yeah we discussed it a lot the last few months. Hangman, dude. the Not that he necessarily looks bad now, dude, but what me and Sheena both feel like his look was so much better back 2021, 2022 when he was rocking the long tights inside the cowboy boots with the longer hair, man.
00:02:20
Speaker
Where are you at on on the hanger? I don't feel like he's going to go back to it just for the mere fact that we've been going this long on his look now. And he can it seems like he can do more with the the pants that he wears now. But yeah, I'm with you guys. I like the tights under the boots better than this look.
00:02:38
Speaker
Yeah, he was straight freaking cowboy shit before, dude. And now he looked now he looks like he's like the manager at a craft brewery. You know what I mean? like he's like I still think he's got a good look. yeah I think I worked for him as ah as a... yeah I definitely think I worked for him as a heel. And yeah, I think you're right, Jordan. The character he's on, he's got to kind of keep it. But I think the next time we see him leave for an extended a period of time, I'm really hoping he comes back with the tights. Because for a while there, dude, I thought he was right there with Seth Rollins as some of the best gear in the game.
00:03:06
Speaker
Yeah, I mean, he's he's not exactly as bad as Baron Corbin was when he was the TGI Frighter. No, I don't even think he looks bad. He looks totally acceptable. looks great. He still got a great Seth was rocking this outfit, it would be totally fine. You know what I mean? I'm not making fun of the way he looks. Baron Corbin, I would be embarrassed to be seen with Baron Corbin. Seth who? Rollins or Phelps?
00:03:26
Speaker
Phelps. Yeah, set Seth Rollins would never wear something so plain. but um We got a little Mox hanger face-to-face here. But yeah, I mean, he looks totally fine. I think he looks stylish if you're looking, you know, looking, going for that look, but he doesn't look as cowboy ish as he did before.
00:03:46
Speaker
We'll go speed round on the usual intro.

AEW Fyter Fest Analysis

00:04:10
Speaker
Oh, I didn't know what the hell that was. She just popped the top on a soda. I thought there was something breaking in the room. It's a poppy. and And we'll go kind of just some live thoughts on Fyter Fest. Jordan, what how have you dug Fyter Fest so far tonight? I thought it's been really good. um I watched everything up until obviously nine o'clock when it was time to start recording, but I think it's been good. I mean, there's not been anything that's like pay-per-view worthy, but I feel like everything's been kind of meaningful. I didn't Still don't know how to digest the whole Hurt Syndicate thing, but i mean, it's it's a normal Wednesday night, so I guess I can't read into it too much. It's not like they did this on a pay-per-view, so.
00:04:51
Speaker
We already had a little bit of meat talk earlier on on with the Brazilian Steakhouse, man. What about that steak that Mercedes Monet was eating at ringside? That wasn't a steak. That was a piece of a tire. I don't think she was even seeing this shit. didn't see it. i was I was doing all kinds of stuff. Yeah, i was doing all kinds of stuff. I think we bagged on Mercedes the yeah we begged on mercedes a whole but you know big time episode last time. This is just another sign that individual. Look at the steak that she was eating. What?
00:05:17
Speaker
did she Did she cut it at all? Yeah, she was eating it. Oh my God. Yeah, just absolutely atrocious. That's repug, dude. yeah do you know No um you know infused like garlic butter on the top. It's burnt to a freaking crisp.
00:05:33
Speaker
I'd at least have some A1 sauce if my steak was a piece of leather. mean, that thing looks like you could powder it, dude, pretty easily. There's another shot of it. Just punch your hand on It just turns into dust.
00:05:45
Speaker
Some poor cow gave its life for that, dude. That's that's the sad thing about that. yeah it's just absolutely horrible, man. Again, Mercedes-Benz is just not a good person at all. Jesus.
00:05:58
Speaker
Look at that. There you go, Shane. There's a shot from the inside as she cut it open. my God. She's eating it, dude. There's not a drop of juice to be found on there. That thing was cooked like three days ago it's been dry aging. Yeah, that's basically a slab of beef jerky, dude. That's a slab of thick cut beef jerky at that point, man.
00:06:17
Speaker
That is nuts, dude. Wow. Yeah. All right. ah Yeah, I've done Fyter Fest so far, too. I kind of, you know, I like they did this some latin earlier. It was either earlier this spring or maybe late last year.
00:06:31
Speaker
They had a couple of episodes. Yeah, it must have been last year because it was when Rampage was still a thing. They had some some weeks they would have Rampage just go right back to back with either the Collision or

WWE Worlds Collide Anticipation

00:06:40
Speaker
Dynamite. And I think it works, man. I think the the longer shows really work for AEW because if there was a critique, sometimes the shows just don't have enough room to breathe, man. So I kind of dig these long AEW broadcasts. I think they they do a really great job filling the time. Yeah, they're good.
00:06:55
Speaker
ah Let's get into Money in the Bank. You got the card pulled up, Shane? I guess first we do Worlds Collide. So I think this is ah ah one of the more wild cards of NFL. Jesus. One of the more wild cards of WWE shows we've had in a while. I really have zero expectations going into this aside from I think Vikingo and Chad Gable could end up having a match of the year candidate if they let both guys go out just do what we know they're capable of. But Jordan, what kind of expectations do you have for the rest of this show?
00:07:22
Speaker
I mean, it'll be good. It's not going be your typical w WWE event. So if you're going into that, to it with with that expectation, I think you're going to be a little disappointed. I think we can all agree that the the normal style of WWE is not at all what we're going to see this weekend. Like this going to be more fast paced. A lot more flippy things are going to be happening. This is going to be more akin to like an AEW show than it is going to be a WWE show.

WWE Event Expectations

00:07:48
Speaker
Yeah, I'm expecting some house show energy, man. I think it's going to be a hot crowd. They actually got almost 9,000 people into the the l LA forum for this show, man. And, you know, there's a big... big Latino audience there in in Southern California. So I think they're going be hot for this one. It's really interesting, man. Do you think Gable has any chance of taking the, the triple a championship away from Vikingo?
00:08:09
Speaker
um No, if he was wrestling as, okay, I got it. We got to keep a K fable. I have, he was wrestling as Grande Americano. I think he would have a chance, but as

Character Developments and Storylines

00:08:20
Speaker
Chad Gable, no, I don't think there's a chance. He wins that match.
00:08:24
Speaker
I don't know if it was an Easter egg or just a continuity error. don't know if you saw on Monday, O'Grande North Americano had Chad Gable boots on. Yeah. Well, Chad addressed it in a tweet. What did he say? He said something about, you know, he he stretched my boots out or he's the know he he had to borrow my boots and so he stretched them out. Nice. Chad Gable's so good, man. yeah i'm I'm glad to finally see him get this extended run with really interesting stuff to do on the main roster he's done over last couple of years. That guy, he's always been great, man.
00:08:52
Speaker
All right, let's go straight to Money in the Bank then. I'm kind of with you, Jordan. i don't i'm gonna I'm interested to see what WWE's vision for AAA is, but I have no idea what to expect out of this one. All right, so it's Wednesday night as we're, obviously we're watching Fyter Fest as we're recording this. So we don't know what's to happen on SmackDown. We could get another match added to the card. As of right now, it is a tight four matches. We get two Money in the Bank matches.
00:09:15
Speaker
We have a tag team match, and then we have um a women's match. ah Intercontinental Championship match. Yeah, to me, I think this card, I think you gotta come up with some sort of ah you know flavor of the week.
00:09:31
Speaker
so It doesn't gotta be any kind of big story. Just find some way to get Tiffy on the card with a championship match. That way... you get to you know You could either tease or do a cash-in with that women's briefcase, man. But I think we need โ€“ there's got to be somebody we could heat up to get a shot with. I mean, Chelsea Green's on the ladder match, even really consider that, that if the if the women win, there's no what there's nobody there cash-in Yeah, they're not cash-in that night, you know, and especially the women. it seems like they've always been โ€“ they like to get that briefcase out of the way pretty quick. True. And the women are 7 for 7 on cash-ins, dude. So it's it a pretty good, um you know โ€“ We got some wrestle math out of Sheena tonight. What are the
00:10:04
Speaker
The guys are 19 out of 25. Wow. Okay. we bring a second you know Let me double check

Speculation on Women's Money in the Bank

00:10:11
Speaker
that. That's a 66 and a third percent chance. And if Scott Steiner was in the match, he'd be all the way down to 33rd and a third percent chance. Yeah, 19 of 25. I think that's right. I think, yeah, because think they said it was 100% for the women, 76 the men. The fact that they're hyping that up leads me to think that maybe this is the year we finally see a failed cash in for the ladies. For the girls.
00:10:30
Speaker
no but yeah, I think we need to get Tiffy. We we need to get a Tiffy match on on here, dude, doing something, either set up, do another tag team or, or a one-on-one match so we can get some cash in action.
00:10:41
Speaker
ah Let's just, let's start with the intercontinental match. We'll get that out of the way first. The ah Lyra versus Becky. We got interesting steps on this. Becky loses, she can no longer challenge for the IC title.
00:10:53
Speaker
If, ah if Lyra loses, she has to raise Becky Lynch's hand and, This stipulation is making me think Lyra's winning this all the way. See, I don't think so.
00:11:04
Speaker
have the opposite. I just can't see a situation where you have the baby-faced Lyra holding up Becky's hand, dude. How do you have that happen? How does Lyra ever come back from that?
00:11:14
Speaker
I mean, I don't know, but I feel like there's got to be... so I feel like if Becky wins, because we still have the Bailey of it all, right? So I feel like this could be a situation where Becky...
00:11:26
Speaker
Becky wins, Lyra gets some sort of rematch, and then becky or Bailey gets involved to make it a triple threat where it's like all three ladies for the icy top. Yeah, I'm not saying that can't happen. I'm just wondering how do you get to this stipulation that Lyra's got to hold up Becky's hand? I mean, am I putting too much thought into it?
00:11:42
Speaker
Yeah, you're putting way too much thought. I don't think she's going to like voluntarily like hold her hand up, dude. I mean, she might be like passed out and like you know Becky like you know has somebody have her hold her hand up. I mean, any anything is possible. right My kayfabe brain telling me Becky's not losing to Lyra twice in a row, but i'm just I cannot come up with a clean way to execute that post-match gimmick. Maybe Bayley comes back. We watched Cody Rhodes lose and stare up at the lights at WrestleMania 40, and we all swore that was the end of that, and then a year later, he wins the title. like yeah you you You're reading way too much into this. But he didn't have he didn't have to hold up Roman's arm in victory after the match. He might as well have at that point. Yeah.
00:12:22
Speaker
Yeah. So you guys are both going Becky? here Yeah. There's a, work there's a workaround for it. I mean, I think we're, I, I, and I think for, you know, I think Lyra, I think before you know it, think Becky's going to be back in the, uh, fighting for the world championship, man. I, I, I think Lyra gets the win here again. I say Becky comes back and, or Bailey comes back and, uh, with the assist with the, uh, yeah, maybe, but I don't know. All right.
00:12:46
Speaker
Um, next, you wanna just go to the tag team match before? Uh, let's say that for last. Let's do the women's money in the bank. All right, so we got Alexa Bliss versus Roxanne Perez versus Rhea versus Julia versus Naomi and Steph Vaquer.
00:13:00
Speaker
This is going to be a freaking banger, dude. I love the mix where you got three of the old Gar and then three of the brand new. I think this is a really, really fun lineup Yeah, I think this is going to be awesome. um There's a few different ways they could go. Who who are your favorites so to take away the women's money in the bank? I think Roxy has got a good shot, dude. I think that'd be fun with Roxy hanging around the Judgment Day with the with the money in the bank, you know, kind of have a little little token to hold over the head of Liv and Raquel and in kind of further that that Roxanne.
00:13:31
Speaker
Finn Balor Alliance. So I think if I had to pick, I'd say, I'd say Roxy that Stephanie is red hot. Like she, I feel like she somehow almost gained momentum coming up from NXT. Like everything that what the audience that was in love with her, NXT definitely has followed her up to the main roster. Cause they're just behind her full steam. So I think she's the most over person, you know, I, I mean, obviously Rhea's Rhea, but I just, I feel like the money in the bank briefcase is below her at this point. I think she's just there to kind of be the the big star in the match. She doesn't need it. I feel like Rhea could just like, like we've talked about a million times with a few other people, like break glass in case of emergency. Like Rhea's always ready. She doesn't need the briefcase. Yeah. It would just, it would, yeah, it would just seem off seeing her have a ah money in the bank cash in title reign. So I think, I think Roxanne wins, but I think they could always just go, go with the hot hand and give it to Steph.
00:14:18
Speaker
Yeah, the three that could see, Roxanne, Alexa, or Stephanie, I think are the only three that truly have an opportunity here. What about you, Jordan? Interesting. Neither one of you mentioned who I think is actually going to win. I think Naomi's actually going to win this match. She's been doing some interesting things, dude. They have put a lot into her in the last month. I really think she's going to win.
00:14:41
Speaker
The other night when me and Seth talked about this, I i could have swore it was Stephanie Vakor, but like the more I thought about it, i really think Naomi's going win. Yeah, that'd be fun, especially if if you get, if you're assuming, you know, Bianca and Jade start getting back in the mix for that belt with Tiffy over there on SmackDown. Yeah, and I agree. I think Naomi's been killing it on this little heel run she's had, doing this kind of like creepy, like weird heel gimmick. I think i think it's really working. and um Yeah, so I can totally see that, man. I think really anybody aside from Alexa and Rhea's got a chance. I think all the other four could potentially win it. I don't think...
00:15:14
Speaker
I think Rhea has almost no chance, which I know is insane, dude. i'm probably going to be like, God, why did I say that whenever you know she ends up winning it? She comes out. Because the ah the one wild card on Rhea, I feel like Mommy in the Bank merch. Oh, gosh. You know what mean? yeah there's definite There's definitely somebody in the WWE decision space. I haven't even heard that yet. Who's already got a bunch of mock-ups of like Mommy in the Bank merch, and they probably already got the the forensics on, you know, this this is how much merch we project to sell.
00:15:43
Speaker
with Rhea Ripley. So that's in the TKO era. You cannot discount that. Yeah. I can totally see it being like a studded briefcase. You know what i mean? Like doing like black with all the the studs and everything. Yeah. Somebody said this the other night too. And I, I guess I really hadn't put this much thought into it. Like,
00:15:59
Speaker
I remember how when anytime Charlotte was in a big match, we were always like, well, she could win anytime. Rhea has kind of taken over that spot that like if she's in the match, she can easily win. Like it will never shock me to see Rhea win a match, but I would be surprised if she won this one, honestly. Rhea at this point, man, like she's, I think she's right there with like Seth, Cody, Roman, Cena is like the most over people in the roster, man. Like people absolutely go nuts every time she shows up on the shows, man. Yeah.

Rhea Ripley's Popularity

00:16:29
Speaker
she's really climbing the ranks of all-time women at this point. I feel like she's going to surpass Charlotte at some point.
00:16:39
Speaker
She's still so young too as the other thing. i mean yeah that' what so as i got the yeah She doesn't got the stats, but she's more over with the crowd than Charlotte's ever been yeah as a heel or a face. I think she's like Yeah, she's starting get up there with Sable and Chyna. And she's not a Nippo baby, dude. You know what I mean?
00:16:55
Speaker
she's from the ground. Yeah, she's on that like Sable, Chyna, Trish level of like just getting over. You know what i mean? Star power. like you know I still put Becky as the top as was like the most over female of all time.
00:17:07
Speaker
But yeah, you're 100% right, Jordan. She's climbing up the ranks very, very quick. And the crazy thing is, she's not even 30 yet, man. We still got a long way to go with Rhea. I'm assuming she doesn't bail on WWE for... For something bigger. And she's won every main title everywhere she's been. She won the NXT UK title, the NXT Women's title, Raw, and then the world title. so She didn't win the Mae Young, yeah?
00:17:29
Speaker
No, didn't. the Mae Young was won by Kairi Sane. And did they do two? don't think they did only one. ago think one. Yeah, I think Kairi Sane won. Because remember, it was so contrary. Or no, that was the... That was the fabulous Moolah. Moolah, yeah. That was the Fallopian 2 Battle Royal. Or maybe they did do two. I don't know, but... Yeah, let me fire up. You guys keep talking. What do you guys think Alexa Bliss is doing? What's her next six months in WWE to be like? The problem with Alexa Bliss, dude, is everybody's already got her link to this, like, Wyatt Six situation, dude. So it's really hard. mean, and obviously she's not doing anything to help because she's wearing the jacket and still doing, like, the doll. She's logo on her...
00:18:05
Speaker
ah yeah gloves and stuff yeah Yeah, exactly. So it's like, you know, and I just feel like, unfortunately, and know they just came back and like it was it was really cool to see them pay homage on brit or um Bray's birthday.
00:18:18
Speaker
um But I feel like they're just kind of dead in the water, dude. I don't know. I don't know how this white six is going to. Yeah, I'm going to shape out long term. And I feel like and people are always going going to put Alexa with them and it may hinder her. but I feel like that group needs her, though. Like they need someone that you can believe can beat anyone on the roster. And Alexa can go toe to toe with any woman on the roster. forre Like who else in that group can?
00:18:44
Speaker
I just, yeah especially if she's got powers and Alexa could easily be the leader of that group and it'd be believable. i mean, she was Bray's sidekick, so it could easily. I don't want her to have like fiend powers. I think, I think when we try to do too much of the supernatural, that's where we really get hung up because then it just becomes, and don't know if TKO is going to allow like all the the supernatural,

Supernatural Elements in WWE

00:19:05
Speaker
right? Like I love the supernatural. I do too.
00:19:07
Speaker
Royal Royal 94, Undertaker levitating to the heavens. Like yes, dude, that's right in my wheelhouse, man. that's it's it's totally that's totally different though dude it's just it's totally different than what like Bray was doing and what and did what Bray was doing was awesome but it was just it could never be fully realized for WWE it was too it was too much it was also the it was too dense he's also the only person that can do that I think like I it was believable with him but like who else are you gonna even consider that to be a thing with that
00:19:39
Speaker
I agree with you, Sheena. They cannot lean into the supernatural stuff with her, but I'd be fine with her being the leader of the group. Yeah, I'm totally cool. like I love a psychotic family, dude. like Just like a psychotic family vibe, like Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The OG Wyatt.
00:19:55
Speaker
Yeah, like I love like a good cult vibe. And I think um you know if they stick with that versus like all the supernatural stuff, the Wyatt 6 could really work if they just lean into that.
00:20:07
Speaker
which I feel like they've done a better job of. Like, you know, they unmask themselves. You know, they're not trying to be these spiritual entities. They're more like a Brit White tribute band than like ah a full-on like supernatural act. Right, yeah right. So, yeah, I don't know. it's It's hard to say because Alexa is so awesome and I love her.
00:20:24
Speaker
um She's great on the mic. She has just, I mean, everything, her performance is just always top notch. um But I don't really know what what the future is goingnna hold for her in the next six to eight months.
00:20:36
Speaker
Going back to the Mae Young Classic, yeah, there actually was two. And like you guys know what kind of a memory I have for wrestling. I have absolutely no recollection whatsoever

Men's Money in the Bank Speculations

00:20:44
Speaker
second one. So the first one, Kairi Sane beat Shayna Baszler. I remember that. That was a WWE Network exclusive match. They went live on the network right after that episode of SmackDown where Kevin Owens headbutted Vince McMahon. And I still have a theory that that headbutt gave mcmah gave Vince like ah like some sort of like stroke and...
00:21:01
Speaker
He just lost his marbles from that point because the creative on WWE went down the hill and we know everything else that Vince got involved in after that. So I still say that. I say that headbutt from KO was like a canon event in Vince McMahon's life. Now I really remember that there was a second one because now i remember who won the second one. Yeah, the second one, Toni Storm defeats eo sky eo shes Io She was Io Shirai at the time. That was at Evolution. So that was part of the the the one and only women's all women's pay-per-view Evolution matchup.
00:21:28
Speaker
ah back in 2018 but yeah dude i do not remember that tournament or anything about that whatsoever and that was the one that they broadcast every single match on the network right the second one yep yeah oh the network Yeah, back in the good old days. The good old days.
00:21:44
Speaker
All right, let's go to Men's Money the Bank. All right, we got Solo Sacoa versus LA Knight versus Pinta versus Seth Rollins versus Andrade versus El Grande Americano.
00:21:56
Speaker
Before we get into who wins this match, I got to say, there i have an absolutely glowing endorsement and just an absolutely outstanding sign for Pinta. Yeah. So, you know, our son, Brett, loves playing wrestling figures. He's always grabbing a bunch of figures, doing eight man tags, 10 man tags, battle royales, all kinds of stuff.
00:22:14
Speaker
Our daughter, Stella, every once in a blue moon, will play with them. Tonight, she decides she wants to play with some wrestlers. So she grabbed a couple, ah went in another room and was playing with them. she comes back in here in the the home office slash video game room, looks me dead in the eye. And I didn't even know that she knew this person existed and says, Dad, you have a Penta figure?
00:22:32
Speaker
Wow. So, you know, if he's if he's over with our five year old daughter, that means Penta is really doing something. So I think I think maybe they got a little bit something there. did Maybe his momentum hasn't quite stalled out as much as it seemed like it has. Dude, I'm a homer for this guy. All Stars are pointing to Seth for me.
00:22:48
Speaker
Yeah. I agree. yeah I feel like he's the obvious answer here um because he just it just makes so much sense storyline-wise that he would have the money in the bank and yeah he's trying to cash in and bring bring the rightness back to ah back to the company. If you want to something big time, it's got to be Seth. There's entertaining things you could do with Grande...
00:23:08
Speaker
solo or LA Knight. I think even Penta could be kind of cool. But if you really want to make this feel like a serious moment, I feel like Seth has just got head and shoulders momentum above all these I mean, dude, Seth has, you know, probably, arguably the most notorious cash-in of all time. so And it was 10 years ago. yeah I mean, it's it's, you know, it's going to be, I think you'll get, like, some nostalgia. And, like, I just think it'll be fresh seeing, like, you know, him joining CM Punk as two-time winning the bank winner. I just...
00:23:36
Speaker
I think Seth is the only one that makes sense out of this match, honestly. like Can I really picture LA Knight cashing in the briefcase and beating i mean whoever it is, Cena or um Cody or whoever it may be at the time? No.
00:23:50
Speaker
Grande Americano, same thing. Penta, no. Solo, no. Andrade, no. I think Seth is the only one that makes sense in this match, honestly. And he's got Bron Breaker and Bronson Reed helping him out. There's really not I can't even see a reason. And this is no disqualification, so there's no reason for them not to come in and help. Yeah, I can't even really see a good reason why he's not winning this, man. almost feels like a lock.
00:24:15
Speaker
Yeah, they've got to get the belt off Jay sooner than later, too, I feel like. I mean I've loved having him as the champion, but I just... i don't know. i just I feel like they're going pull the trigger on that faster than we think.
00:24:28
Speaker
Yeah, so speaking of Jay, let's well, Sheen, who's your pick you picking Seth as well? I'm picking Seth. So let's go main event. All right, so we got, you know, this is ripe for a cash-in. We have both champions in a tag match. Something you don't see very often. Yeah, Cody, Jay, John Cena, and Logan Paul in a tag match.
00:24:43
Speaker
I think you could get any result out of this, man. if you You could tell me either one of these teams are winning, and I think it's i think that the actual outcome kind of inconsequential. I just think, ah you know, do we see Seth cash-in here, man? I think there's a ah reasonable chance that that he cashes in.
00:24:59
Speaker
or at least an attempted cash in. I think at a minimum, we're getting an attempted cash in I think an attempted cash in, I think it would be a little... presumptuous for him to just cash in um during this match? Because like and it would have to be after, right? Because I can't imagine. like what's what's goingnna be What are the logistics if he cashes in during the match in a tag team match? Anything could happen. You never know. I mean, they they they could get creative on setting it up. But yeah, afterward afterwards works as well.
00:25:26
Speaker
But yeah, I could see maybe you know maybe he tries to cash in on Jay and Cody stops him and we get a little Seth versus Cody part two. Because cody cody needs if he's not going straight back to Cena, Cody needs something to do for the next couple months. I feel like he has to go straight back to Cena at this point, though. like Dude, what else are they going to do for SummerSlam at this point?
00:25:43
Speaker
i Yeah. I feel like Cody and Cena has to be the match at SummerSlam, man. I don't see anything else. Either that or we're getting some big Travis Scott tag team match. That's the rumor, too, that Travis Scott's going to make his debut at SummerSlam.
00:25:57
Speaker
yeah cody Cody and Jay versus... ah Cena and Chad Scott. Jay cannot be in a match together at SummerSlam. That would piss me off so bad if one of those guys isn't defending title. Remember, we got two nights for SummerSlam this year. I know. could get some double duty action going.
00:26:14
Speaker
ah One other thing to note, the the match, so I think we're going to see something with the briefcase just because it's money in the bank, and they always like to least give us a little tease.

Main Event Outcomes

00:26:22
Speaker
If I'm Jay, I'm getting Cody, I'm getting Sammy, I'm getting Jimmy. i'm i'm getting If you have a drop of Samoan blood, I'm putting you at ringside on Monday night.
00:26:30
Speaker
This match with Gunther, you know Jay's got this big hyped up defense against Gunther. on Monday night. And I think that's really where he's going to be a turkey on Thanksgiving for whoever comes out of this money in the bank with the briefcase, either one of those guys, because, you know, Jay and Gunther are going to tear each other up, man.
00:26:44
Speaker
ah ah So, yeah, I think there's a good, I think there's a very good chance by the next time we all three sit down to talk wrestling, Seth Rollins is the world champ. I can see it. I just prefer it at like a SummerSlam or somewhere around there. i mean, dude. You want to stretch it out a little bit?
00:27:00
Speaker
I do feel like Jay's going to have to lose the title sooner than later, but I would prefer he at least makes it to SummerSlam personally. But, I mean, I get it. Dude, Jay is just so over with the kids. and i just I feel like once he loses that title, it's just going to take so much off him. and Granted, I still think he'll be over, but...
00:27:19
Speaker
i just don't i don't i I don't think there's ever to be a time where you can get Jey Uso back to where he's at, right was at right before WrestleMania. like Yeah, i don't think you've got to get him right there. i just think you've got to avoid the thing like they did with Kofi. what I mean? Because I think this J-run's got a lot of parallels. so with kofi mania and kofi mania was good man i thought kofi had a totally fine run obviously it sucked that it ended with a 90 second squash from brock but the the bigger problem than him losing from with brock is that he was off tv for two weeks and then he just showed back up with the new day like nothing even happened yes you know i was so pissed off i was like dude you're not even mad about this like you're not even like
00:27:55
Speaker
And it was like, they never even mentioned it. The New Day never even mentioned that he was like the world champ like a week ago. you know to To a lesser extent, we kind of saw WWE already do the template with this. wouldn't you know Jay only had the IC belt for like a month, man. But i still felt it still felt like he leveled up a little bit after after losing that belt. So hopefully they they kind of do the same thing, just try to try to add some to it. Because yeah, he we gotta you got to still keep him as main event J. So he can't just you know we can't have him going to reunite with Jimmy like three weeks after he loses this belt.
00:28:25
Speaker
True. i think I think there's a big difference, though. I think if you went back and looked... um I mean, dude, Kofi was super over, um but it was there was nothing like main event Jey Uso, dude. Like, they're yeeting and yeeting.
00:28:38
Speaker
Yeah, and I feel like the creative in WWE was so bad when Kofi Manny had it that the fans were just looking for anything to latch on to and get positive about, where... It seemed like it was, it wasn't like a meme, but it just seemed like everybody kind of just decided on social media, like, hey, we're going to push this Kofi thing. You know what I mean? Yeah. Because he wasn't even supposed to be in it, right? Yeah. He wasn't. Mustafa Ali got hurt. Mustafa, yeah. And then Kofi was in like a gauntlet match or something, just picked up a bunch of steam and it just caught wildfire.
00:29:04
Speaker
I think the Jay thing was a little bit more organic. Yeah. Well, yeah, the J thing built for five years, too. Yeah, especially with the bloodline story, dude. Yeah, because they brought him all the way to fighting Roman, which we were like, damn, dude, this is this is possibly like he could beat Roman. I still think it have been right answer. I think that's where the bloodline story lost its way. Whatever. Roman beat him at SummerSlam 2023. Yeah, because what else was there after that point? It did kind of feel meaningless after that point. It was kind of treading water till WrestleMania 40 at that point.
00:29:35
Speaker
Shane, what do you think of Thecla here, this ah like spider girl? Dude, I have severe arachnophobia, so this is not for me, dude. this but Jordan, you what give us your scouting report on Thecla, dude. You're the women's expert, man.
00:29:50
Speaker
She's good. it's just It's going to take a while for her to get over with the AEW crowd, I feel like, but she can definitely wrestle. i've I've enjoyed her work up to this point, so I'm i'm happy she's there.

AEW's Callis Family Critique

00:30:02
Speaker
Give us a comparison of somebody that's already established here States. Like, what level of star slash ring ability she? Oh, brother, I'm not that deep into watching her matches. I think I've watched her wrestle five times. Let's just relax a little.
00:30:15
Speaker
I know we always give me the the women's wrestling crown, but that that's a that's a crown that is pretty easily takeable in this group. The toxic spider. That glove.
00:30:26
Speaker
I'll tell you this as we're watching AEW, man. If I was a heel coming in, one thing that I would absolutely demand is like keep me away from the Callis family, dude. I feel like they're like the Shane McMahon vortex. Oh, dude, was going to say the Shane McMahon. It's not that they're like horrible, right? they Obviously, you know, you got Takesh to Kyle Fletch. You got some amazing people in there. But it's just I feel like I see Don Callis like six times a week across AEW TV. it's like they're just always kind of in these like โ€“ midcar upper mid-card, upper-mid-card feuds. And it's just, you know, I feel like Josh Alexander getting stuck with him was like the worst thing that could have happened to him coming in the door.
00:31:01
Speaker
Did not love that either. i wish they'd get Takeshita away from him as soon as possible, but they won't because he needs a mouthpiece. So I get it, but I would much rather him be on his own.
00:31:12
Speaker
Yeah, like they're totally fine as a mid-card act, but I feel like some of these guys are like, they've just kind of outgrown this whole Kalis family act, like Takeshita and Kyle Fletcher especially. Yeah. All right. um so what's ah that's it for the card for Money in the Bank. What's our overall hype factor for Money in the Bank? i'm ah I kind of like a four-match card. i wish I almost wish they were swap spots. I wish Money in the Bank was going down Saturday afternoon and watching out on the back porch with the sunshine and stuff, man, and a cold one.
00:31:40
Speaker
And then maybe you got Worlds Collider, just like a little chaser on Saturday night. I think I'd a little bit more hyped for it. But Money in the Bank is always a pretty fun show, and I'm sure this one will be no different. Yeah, I think it's going awesome. I'm hyped for it. I think we're going to see some. just you You love the Smothering Clark. If there was a three-match pay-per-view, you'd be hyped it. Sheena's all in.
00:31:57
Speaker
I am all in. Yeah, listen. Sheena's wanting him to go to like a boxing ah model where like you basically would just have like a bunch of job matches and then you'd have one big match. One main event. you can kind of just be hanging out in the kitchen, and making wings, just doing stuff around the house while it's on the background. Then you just sit down to watch the one match at the end of the night. That's what Sheena's waiting for. That would be, yes, that would be chef's kiss for me, dude.
00:32:20
Speaker
I can't, I just cannot hang like I used to, dude. I just, what was it the other night when we had both screens going? I was just like nodding in and out. I would like wake up and be like, okay, they won. All right, back to sleep.
00:32:31
Speaker
i I thought that's something they could have done when they had the network, dude, when it was really just their own

Standalone WWE Events Proposal

00:32:36
Speaker
in-house thing. So they didn't really have any like masters to serve. I thought that could have worked if like, You know, I'm looking at the TakeOver chair right now You didn't need to have a paper. You just have, you know, Rollins versus Lesnar. Yeah. and A special event, dude. Yeah. Just like a single night. Yeah. And have two or three just job matches, right? You know, it was either low card guys like you'd see on main event or some job matches and then have the big match. I think it'd be pretty cool. Well, remember, I feel like there was like there was like chatter about that when the rock when the it was going everything was going to Netflix and it was like TKO took over and it was just kind of like.
00:33:03
Speaker
you know we're going to just get Rock and Roman as this one night like you know standalone event. I think that's something we fantasy booked on here because we talked about that and we talked about Cena's last match. As being like a standalone? Yeah. Cena's last match has to be a standalone thing. that I think that they have to do his last match at the Garden on that day after Christmas and it has to be broadcast on ah Peacock.
00:33:24
Speaker
There's no other... or Or make it a Saturday night's main event. Do whatever. but that Yeah, I think there's a Saturday night's main event in the suburb of Austin in December, dude. Yeah, it has to happen. like There's no way they can't televise that. like they They better freaking make that... As good as Sting's.
00:33:42
Speaker
Well, no, they better make that commercial-free, dude. I mean, if it's Saturday Night's main event, it ain't gonna be commercial-free. Yeah, don't even get your hopes up, dude. At least make Cena's match commercial-free, bro. Just say, hey John Cena's last match brought to you by whatever, dude. They'll be like, here, we'll give you picture-in-picture. Here's seven Slim Jim commercials and a Preparation H commercial to wash it down. Yep. I'm not even that much of a Cena fan, but, dude, we cannot be getting a bunch of commercials. Have you had your shingles vaccine? You're gonna be hearing in that during freaking, you know...
00:34:11
Speaker
Cena's last match sponsored by AARP.
00:34:15
Speaker
Uh, one more bit of news. So, you know, it worked out perfectly last week. We got the breaking news right before we went live talking about Mariah made a WWE. They did not waste any time middle of the show Tuesday night. She shows up in this big segment with the entire NXT women's division. Uh, they really, I mean, they cleared the deck for it it.

New Talent and Contract Talks

00:34:33
Speaker
Everybody's up on the main roster, except for really Jordan grace. That's the only person that's kind of even, you know, remotely on her level down there. So I think we're setting up for her just to have a dominating run for the next, uh,
00:34:42
Speaker
next eight nine months down there in NXT for she goes up to the main roster what what did you think of the debut Jordan does WWE just hold nothing sacred anymore like we we couldn't have saved this for evolution you're having an all-win interview in a month like dude yeah putting it on a Tuesday night show that, I mean, let's be honest, not a ton of people watching NXT weekly. Like I know we're like the the hardcore of the hardcore, but I mean, a lot of people didn't even see that live. They just saw it on Twitter or Tik TOK or YouTube.
00:35:12
Speaker
Dude, why would you not put that on an all-women's pay-per-view? Like, do an NXT match and have her run in at the end of it. That just seemed like such a better point of debut than just her saying, NXT's more glamorous now.
00:35:25
Speaker
And everybody is extremely concerned on whether or not they're letting her keep her name. And I will die if they change her name at this point. You know they're going to change it, dude. Well, i mean all they did with Ricky Starks was change it to Ricky Saints. She's going to be Mariah June. i'm thinking Mariah May with an E at the end of the May.
00:35:41
Speaker
Wow. No, I don't know what they're going to do. I think the rumors from the dirt sheets is she will be getting name change. I don't like her name, man. Yeah, Mariah May sounds good, Yeah, the alliteration is nice.
00:35:54
Speaker
Yeah, I don't know. I just, I wish they would have made it into a bigger deal. Just doing on a random Tuesday for an NXT show or even like for Great American Bash or something. Like, Dave, you were there. I don't know. I was very surprised to see it just happening out of nowhere like that. think they would just show that they're not freaking around, Yeah. what mean? Like, they're just like, hey, she's gone. Now she's here, dude. To me, yeah. If Devil's Advocate, I think, you know, if you want set it up to where, if you want people thinking like, hey, you need to be watching because anything can happen. Yeah.
00:36:22
Speaker
any single week uh and i'm sure gonna get the debut at match at at evolution now uh but yeah i yeah it's interesting she's going to nxt man like i really felt like she was kind of at the level where she was ready to go straight to the main roster as red hot as she is too true but like you said they've they've cleared out so much of nxt they need star power in nxt right now and they've they've just recently brought up so much from NXT, it wouldn't make sense. like it's just It's just a recipe for people to just get lost in the shuffle, right? like If she's competing against Steph and freaking Julia and like all the people that just came up, then you know it really doesn't make sense to me. yeah
00:36:58
Speaker
Yeah. um if I'll tell you what, there's so much talent between the main roster and NXT. I would really be sweating it if I'm any of the... female wrestlers right now when you get around cut time for WWE. I feel like there's a lot of, I mean, they've been clearing the decks, you know, and we saw how ruthless it could be on Sunday. We saw Carlito, which was, that was surprising on its own. But then the fact that, you know, I get a text from Jordan saying, R-Truth has been released. I could not believe it at first, man.
00:37:24
Speaker
My first thought was maybe R-Truth had gotten June 1st and April 1st mixed up and it was like another R-Truth gag. But no, it's confirmed. R-Truth's contract is not getting renewed. What's your guys' thoughts on that? Well,
00:37:35
Speaker
I saw, you know, i didn't fact check, but I did see that WWE offered him a kind um a contract for much lower money and he turned it down. Interesting. Again, I need to fact check that, but that's that was the word on the street. where else is who else would pay even Who else would pay him even a reduced...
00:37:52
Speaker
WWE contract. I guess it's possible he goes to AEW, but can't see it, dude. To me, dude, him doing the Ron Cena thing was basically R-Truth season finale. His swan song. Yeah. I mean, what else does he really need to do? He doesn't need to do anything else at this point. 100%. If he had to go out, there was no better way to honor R-Truth.
00:38:16
Speaker
freaking R-Truth and let him wrestle John Cena and, you know, do the whole gimmick and have the, you know, all that. i I'm with Seth, though. I think painful cuts are coming, man I think we're going to see a lot more contracts not get renewed as we go on because WWE's proven they're not going to stop bringing new people in and AEW's proven they're not going to stop bringing in other talent from other companies. So,
00:38:39
Speaker
Asuka is the next one that I'm like extremely interested to see what happens. just because i mean I just feel like she's been so poorly used for the last couple years. I could easily see her leaving. I just don't know what she would do.
00:38:52
Speaker
um and then Today I read something about Karrion Kross. Again, and you i felt like they had something with him for the last month. and i don't know. If they just let his contract expire, I i feel like somebody would snatch him up. like He can still go.
00:39:07
Speaker
Well, since we're on this topic, I want to go ahead and just like jump to a a listener me real quick because it goes right along with what we're talking about. um Our buddy David Brooks says w WWE used to get bashed for releasing people. Now they're eating bash for letting contracts expire.
00:39:20
Speaker
Additionally, with vets, they're offering lower contractual dollars akin to what NFL, MLB and NBA players would get in their twilight years, um you know, like with veteran minimums. Seems like a catch 22. What are your thoughts on the various approaches separately?
00:39:33
Speaker
If trading out wrestlers like Carlito and truth, um, who have limited shelf life for now, bring in new blood like Mariah may, isn't that a good thing? What are your thoughts? Yeah. I mean, it's the natural cycle of things, dude. I think Carlito, I don't think anybody really would have bad eye. Cause it's been a decent little run since he came back. And I think 2023 is when he came back.
00:39:53
Speaker
Um, But he hasn't really done whole lot. ah hold I don't think he's going to be tremendously missed. If he just stopped showing up, I think it'd be a couple weeks before people noticed. It was like, where's Carlito? Yeah, I agree. Truth seemed like a lifer. He's been such a versatile act, and he's been like the comedy relief. and It almost always hits, Dave. like He's almost always good for some laughs when he comes out there. and he just and He's already been there so long that you felt like he was kind of past...
00:40:15
Speaker
you know, being gone. It was, it was wild to see. i mean, I was, I wasn't surprised, but like, you know, we've seen so many cuts recently, you know, but like the outpouring of like support and love for truth with among all the superstars and like people who were backstage, like it was just, it was, it was really nice to see, but it also makes you wonder like, i mean, there's definitely some merit in keeping people that are just like good vibes. You know what i mean? And like good locker room. um ah What's the word I'm looking for? like wow morale. Yeah. You know, I think when they were on the road four days a week, that probably made more sense, but now the house shows aren't a thing. Like they're showing up for one day of work and then going back home.
00:40:51
Speaker
So I don't think, I don't think the morale thing as big a deal, dude. When they were, they were, you know, making towns, dude, doing like four shows and four nights and then having a couple of days off. I think, I think a guy like R-Truth probably, and and just doing the house shows, you know what mean? I think guys like Carlito and Truth add a lot of value on that when you're still doing the house shows. I think that, I think that changed a lot about how, you know, different ways people can prove their value to the company as well.
00:41:11
Speaker
Yeah. I, I think the natural progression, especially with guys like R-Truth and Carlito, I mean, yeah, like Seth said, what what else were either one of those guys going to do? And like David said, you you get to bring in people like Mariah May.
00:41:28
Speaker
The only thing that just, I don't know... TKO and WWE feel way more like a business than it ever has before. Oh, it is like, yes. They're literally putting freaking ads on the tables now. They're going to be like tables sponsored by Slim Jim. you know what mean? It's like, get the Slim Jim tables. They're chanting for, we want the Slim Jim tables. michael I feel like that's why people have such like a reaction the way they do now more than ever is because it is being ran straight up like a business. Like there's, there's no feelings left in this. There's absolutely nothing. They won't commodify. like
00:42:04
Speaker
Vince McMahon treated a lot of these wrestlers like his family members. And I know a lot of stuff got said about Vince at the end, but I mean, a lot of people said a lot of things about Vince that were really good about him. I,
00:42:15
Speaker
Yeah. there There's none of that left anymore. Like, it it is it is straight up just a business, and that is all. Like, you are there to work. That is all you're there for. For better or worse, dude, Vince had some principles that he was, like, staunchly, like, attached to, right? When Vince started, it was just it was a family business. You what I mean? Even as big as they got, there's still some of that, like, some of that still had to carry over, which is the way...
00:42:39
Speaker
He ran things. Yeah, I guarantee R-Truth would not have gotten released if Vince was still around. Nowadays, it just seems like it it is a you know, even though it was a billion dollar company before, now it just feels so corporate and so like, again, there's nothing that they won't slap a logo or a label or an add on and...
00:42:55
Speaker
oh yeah There's no there's no there's no like point at which they won't squeeze an extra dollar out of whatever they're doing. your paid They are going to have labels on their tights and stuff in no time. it That's what I said. I said, dude, the next thing is the ring gear, dude. Remember at WrestleMania, they had the patches for the tops cards, dude. Well, and um I said, you know, they they were kind of like not ah doing a cosplay type with like Drew and the the Viking Raiders. Like they didn't have straight up like, you know. Doom, the Dark Ages. Yeah, they didn't have straight up like logos on their gear. But still, they were sponsored But they were sponsored. But it was total sponsored gear. And i it's only a matter of time. I say within, I say in 2026.
00:43:31
Speaker
We see freaking like logos on the gear, dude. It ain't real though until somebody sponsored by condom Depot, like all the old UFC fighters were. Every single one of them had that logo on their trunks.
00:43:42
Speaker
fair All right. You ready get in some figure talk, Shane? Yeah.
00:44:07
Speaker
I want to remind you this segment and the entire show is brought to you by Ringside Collectibles. Use code ChickFoly to save 10% at Ringside Collectibles. We'll start off with some news.
00:44:18
Speaker
First off, Zombie Sailor revealed some new two new in-stock options. I think they're going up tomorrow night. It's Wednesday as we record this. So Thursday night, they should be available for purchase. There's a new Ric Flair and Baby Blue.
00:44:31
Speaker
and a Mike Awesome and his Gladiator giving it from Japan with the face paint.

Collectibles and Wrestling Figures

00:44:35
Speaker
Jordan, are you still in on the zombie line? No, i I finally just had to draw a line, and I couldn't continue with the retro Hasbro-style figures. i just I was running out of room for all this stuff. And the other thing is, I'm happy he's finally starting to do some in-stock figures, but, dude, just giving somebody a loan for two years is just absolutely ridiculous to me. Yeah.
00:44:55
Speaker
don't know, man. It just started to wear thin for me. He still makes a beautiful product, and I'm still really interested to see how these elite figures turn out, but I just finally had to draw a line in the sand of, I can't just keep collecting every single thing.
00:45:08
Speaker
Yeah, it ah and it was cool at first when some of these companies were putting out some of these uh kind of like you know limited hasbro revivals but dude that little like cottage industry blew up so much that yeah it really became you know a serious investment and chore just to keep up with everything coming out and because everybody got so good you know like that the stuff by epic was great uh the stuff by figures toy company is awesome uh grapplers and gimmicks is shoot dude they're catching up they're damn near on zombies level and obviously with zombies putting out these little miniature uh works of art every single week man or every single month so
00:45:40
Speaker
Yeah, I'm right there with you, man. its ah You almost got to kind of let that be your entire thing if um if if you're going to keep up with all of it. um Let's go to some more figure news. We saw a leak of what appears to be the San Diego Comic-Con release for this year, that John Cena. Is that what you're thinking, Jordan, that going our Comic-Con exclusive for this year? I mean, why else would 2025 be written on the box? There's no point to having that on there otherwise.
00:46:07
Speaker
Agreed. I would think that there's a chance that it could be just the, ah like a Mattel Creations thing. But yeah, that 2025 seems like a smoking gun that it's our Comic-Con release for this year. And the fact that, you know, we know they like to do big reveals for that stuff.
00:46:20
Speaker
And, you know, nobody from the Mattel team has actually referenced this, ah this release. So it's going to have that classic, you know, the champ is here shirt pointing down the belt. It comes with five championship belts.
00:46:33
Speaker
What, what timeframe is that? Jordan, is that like 2012 John Cena or what what year are we talking? Um, let me look at the picture real quick. Can't find a picture of it either. You got a picture, Seth? Yeah, I got you.
00:46:46
Speaker
Sorry, I already forgot what it looked like. wasn't ready for this. I do like the, um, I do like the original, uh, elite series packaging for the ultimate edition figure. That's pretty neat. Yeah, that's a, that's a throwback. Um,
00:47:01
Speaker
I like the little outside box too. yeah Yeah. The outer box is cool. This would be a really cool figure to get autographed to. If you were getting, if you were in the autograph game, I think it's, this is in the mix for like, if you're getting one John Cena figure autograph, maybe this is the one.
00:47:13
Speaker
Yeah. And you see at the bottom scene, it comes with every single world championship belt that he won. Oh, that's cool. i wouldn't even pay attention. Yeah. I think I'm probably, I probably ended up getting this figure, man, but I would have loved to have something more exciting for the San Diego Comic-Con exclusive. How about you, Jordan?
00:47:28
Speaker
Yeah, I mean, it's definitely cool. It's just, I don't know, man. It just feels like every year with Comic-Con, you're expecting like something that you thought you'd never see.
00:47:40
Speaker
i feel like they could have announced this at Comic-Con as the next Elite series, and I have been like, yeah, it's cool enough, but I'll pass on it. But, I mean, dude, I've gotten every Comic-Con exclusive for the last however many years. I feel like I have to get this either way, even though I don't love it, but it just kind of is what it is to me.
00:47:58
Speaker
The other thing with these Cena figures, man, like if you got one base, you could really get by with just, they could drop us like a big Cena accessory pack with some interchangeable wristbands and like t-shirts and stuff. And I feel like that would work perfectly fine. Like we don't, you know I mean? Like so many of these figures are the same with just different accessories.
00:48:16
Speaker
For sure. I agree. All right. We did get Elite 118 in the mail from Ringside. Sheen is going to give us our live review. The big hook on this one, we got three first time in the line figures this series, and it's Bloodline 2.0. So we got a pretty cool Nia Jax figure, Queen Nia. I believe it's her first figure since she's been back in the company.
00:48:36
Speaker
Is that right, Sheen? um I have not seen a Nia Jax figure in a pot. Yeah, I think Elite, like... ah I think it was like Elite 87, 88, something like that was the last Nia. Yeah, it's been a while. And it was a fantastic figure, if I remember correctly. Wasn't purple? No, you're thinking of Elite 68. That was, which is in the mix for like best female figures of all time. Elite 89. This one's really good. Elite 89, Jordan? Yep.
00:48:57
Speaker
Yeah, 89. Yeah, this one's pretty cool. White and black. It's got the crown, but we know why we're here, dude. We're here for T-Mu Bloodline. ah Let's start off with the low light first. So... I mean, she's got Samoan blood. She's in there. Oh, yeah. There's a reason she was included in 118, but she's not a Bloodline member. So this the Solo Sakoa, man.
00:49:14
Speaker
Take away the jacket. It's a super cool figure, dude. Really, really cool clothes figure. The soft goods don't look me, dude. The soft goods is in the mix for... Dude, I... And, you know, he wasn't... I think Mattel knew this was a miss because he wasn't packaged with the soft goods on.
00:49:28
Speaker
um And even, like, the the... You know, they do the glamour shots. None of the glamour shots of him... had the the jacket on whatever shots he was holding yeah it's like this like super almost like wool type material and it's got this like flimsy like it's like like a piece of ribbon yeah do you remember when you were like a little kid and you had like those felt boards in elementary school that's what this is made out of like those like oh my felt god yeah yeah This jacket, it doesn't fit well.
00:49:55
Speaker
like Yeah, the little cutouts for the pockets look like trash. The base figure is cool as hell, dude. Yeah, the actual solo figure is cool I don't know why they felt the need to go soft goods. like i they see A molded jacket would have been... yeah Because I don't remember Solo ever really taking the jacket off when he was doing his weekend cosplay. Yeah, they could have knocked that apart with a motor jacket. i already been in touch with PWR Lucha. I think he's going to to work us up some custom jacket to go on this because it is a really, really good figure.
00:50:21
Speaker
this jacket But the collar doesn't even lay flat or anything. Yeah, this jacket is just horrible. i It belongs in the trash, man. i'm I'm sorry, Mattel, if you guys are listening. you You guys always kick ass. We kiss you guys booties every single week, but there's nothing we can do. oh yeah you and You can't be sorry. You can't be sorry. They need to know when it's trash and this is trash.
00:50:39
Speaker
Yeah, we would be we would be sacrificing our credibility if we try to say anything positive about these soft goods. Like I said, I need to I need to have a think on it. I'm pretty sure, though, this is this is the worst soft goods I've ever seen Mattel put out there. Yeah, it's horrendous. It's awful.
00:50:54
Speaker
it's It's worse than that Triple H from the Evolution pack. And we know how bad that is. Seriously? This is worse. It's pretty bad, dude. It's horrible, dude. It's horrible. Because, I mean, at least the Triple was like a regular material. I thought that Triple H was in the running for the worst figure the last five years, to be completely honest with you. It doesn't even feel good. It's like microfiber whenever feel it on your fingers. It doesn't look anything at all close to what Solo was wearing, dude.
00:51:20
Speaker
Yeah. um All right, let's get to the good stuff. Figures great, soft goods, trash. First off, we got... All right, so Sheen, you got the Gorillas of Destiny. You got Tonga Lowa, arguably the greatest in-ring technician in the history of wrestling, and Tama Tonga.
00:51:33
Speaker
the These look... I don't know, dude. Tama Tonga's freaking five head. He's got a... He looks like a Simpsons character. now you got a noggin on him, dude.
00:51:45
Speaker
I'm trying to... Let me I need to see a picture, but... um Other than that, I mean, the face goals, Tonga Loa's got some crazy eyes going on. But um as far as just like the actual figures, like they look awesome, dude. I think they're cool, man. And like, yeah, obviously there's some little quibbles you can make to improve them. But um the thing I'll say, like, honestly, if these are the only elites we ever get, I think we're good, man. Yeah. Like, they which which is the best thing you could say, right? Like, the because you never know when guys going to be one shots, dude.
00:52:14
Speaker
Hey, look at that. He got a noggin on, dude. Look at the size of that forehead. Yeah, he got a little receding hairline, don't he? Yeah, he got a head on. those ah yeah Those eyes on Tonga Loa are fucking bad. That is terrifying. He's got some easy me crazy eyes, dude. I've really bought into the Tonga Loa meme of just how, you know, he we all know he basically messes up every single thing that he does. Like, he's somehow botched.
00:52:37
Speaker
He botched showing up, um you know, when he was supposed to interfere on his debut. then he somehow botched that low blow in war games. He tried to hit Tom. He tried to hit Kevin Owens twice and then he ended up hitting Toma Tonga in the head. Like just a, yeah, just a clown show, but the figures are really, really cool. Yeah. These are definitely, I mean, they're, if you need them for your collection, dude, straight up.
00:53:00
Speaker
Yeah, and now we got the MVP of the set. Yes, this looks great. Samoan werewolf. The head sculpt on this is money, dude. I love that i love the braids. He comes with the ulafala. That ulafala came with solo. I gave it to him, though. he comes with the hands to do the He comes with the hands to do the pose like he would always do during the the promos and stuff where he would just have the ulafala on the hands. Yeah. um Awesome soft goods, right? The exact opposite of the soft goods. The soft goods fit so good and they're cut so well. They're cut just like how he wears it. Yes, he's got like the super like, you know, like
00:53:31
Speaker
cut in on the, on the chest. I'd say there, there's, and there's a better version to be had, and I'm sure we're going to get an ultimate edition Jacob Fatu fast track because he's just been solid gold ever since he debuted. I think this one could be like maybe a touch thicker, just the build of it. i was going to say he's a little slight, ah but, but it's still just a great, the legs, the legs are a little long and thin. Yeah. And his body's a little slight. So you do slightly better build, but either way, this is a really, really cool figure, man. Jacob, he's two for two now. You know, he had that figure in the MOW line that was super cool as well. So,
00:54:02
Speaker
Yeah, definitely go to where had. Last I checked, this thing was in stock at ringside. Somehow this Jacob Fatu did not go on back order. It's not in stock. It's on back order. I just looked a minute ago.
00:54:12
Speaker
Keep an eye on Ringstock. I think Elite 18, there was something weird with this one too. I think this may have been one of the sets that I'm assuming it probably has something to do with the tariff situation. I don't believe Ringside flew this over early because I know that these have been being found on store shelves also. So get out there, beat up the payment. You guys might be able to find this at Walmart. And I think some of these are showing up on Amazon too for shipping. yep very very soon so again I recommend you know you could probably pass on the solo I would grab that ultimate edition solo that came out a couple months back and mix it in with the with these three new figures from this set to make your ultimate uh bloodline 2.0 one more figure speaking to amazon jordan did you get your fan takeover john cena it is in the mail I just have not went down to the mailbox to get yet
00:54:54
Speaker
spoiled bro that's how you know you're spoiled man you got a brand new ultimate edition we got a community mailbox bro i don't want to walk down there and get it right now i wait till it builds up a little bit or the guy knocks on my door and he's like hey you got too much shit in your mailbox do you want to do you want to just walk down there real quick and grab it while we just stay on the air so we can do a live review and you just come back like go ahead yeah live review it up seth all right well she can tell us about this wrestlemania 20 john cena I think he looks awesome. He comes with the the word life rings. He's got the ah the padlock, chain, ball cap, jorts.
00:55:28
Speaker
Face scans look like John Cena. The fake Patrick Ewing jersey. Yeah. yeah along Along with that solo jacket, we got ah like an authentic style Patrick Ewing jersey coming from ah come from PWR Lucha.
00:55:40
Speaker
I would say if I had one quibble on this, they could have, because again, it's a John Cena figure. So if you got one, you know a lot of ways you got all of them. They could have thrown in the U.S. championship. You know, this is from when he won the U.S. championship from Big Show at WrestleMania 20. Couldn't they have just given us that belt, Jordan?
00:55:56
Speaker
Yeah, I don't know why that's not in here. It's been a while since we've seen that belt also. It's because we needed three sets of extra hands. yeah it's it's I feel like it's been a while since we've seen that belt get a release too. So I feel like that could have been a nice selling point. But you know anything John Cena is pretty much printing money this year. so I guess they were like, fuck it. Why even bother?
00:56:16
Speaker
All right. um Let's get... Do we got some listener mail, Shane? Oh, yeah.
00:56:30
Speaker
All right. Tyson Neal Trevino, who is least likely ah for Money in the Bank men and women? We already kind of talked about this. I think least likely, probably LA Knight is least likely for men. say Andrade, dude. Oh, yeah. dr on drag I could see any scenario. Unless they want to do like, you know, Sheamus in 2015, just have somebody out of nowhere.
00:56:49
Speaker
Yeah. even This would be more shocking than that. I mean, I wouldn't be opposed to it. i still like Andrade, but... I don't see any, I think they just put him in this match just to do some cool spots and throw him a bone so they could say, we're doing something with you, pal. Yeah. I think least likely for women's probably Julia. Yeah. I mean, not that she's not awesome, but I think. I think Rhea did. I think Rhea is the el least likely, man.
00:57:09
Speaker
Or I'll go Alexa. I'll say Alexa. Rhea is not least likely, bro. Yeah. I'll say, I'll say Alexa. They could change the day of and make Rhea. Again, Rhea could win and none of us would be surprised. Like mommy in the bank. I'll say Alexa is my least likely.
00:57:23
Speaker
What about you, Jordan? Jordan. I'd probably go Julia as well. I just, I don't see any world where she wins that match. Yeah. I just don't see what, what the point of it would be. Like if you're going go Julia, like I said, as it is, cause I just think they're just like going to be eternally linked. I think the better choice would be to go with Steph.
00:57:37
Speaker
Right. yeah Like if you're going to go with one of those two, um, Sam Rosenthal, why do you think ultimates have been, uh, leaning very modern lately? I feel ultimates are more selling to ah the adult demo versus kids at its price point.
00:57:52
Speaker
don't know. That's a good question. It was a lot more Legends heavy at the start of the line. I guess maybe that's kind of just in our head. and Maybe it's the more modern guys are going off the shelves a little bit more. I'll tell you this. I feel like you know the only store we have within 30 minutes of us is a Walmart. I feel like I see those Monday Night Wars Ultimate Editions setting a lot more than I see like that the current day Ultimate Editions when they come in.
00:58:14
Speaker
I agree with that. i hardly ever see the um normal Ultimate Editions in the store. that i actually saw the Damien Priest last night with a bunch of Monday Night Wars Lex Luger, and that was the first time I had seen a normal Ultimate at the store in a while.
00:58:30
Speaker
um So we took a shit on Sam Rosenthal's question. and maybe it's ah Sam, we're going to need some added context, man. If you're seeing something different up in New York, yeah, but for us in the South and the Midwest, it seems like the legends are sitting there.
00:58:42
Speaker
um Tony Barker, what will Mariah May's new NXT nom de plume be? um Why does Tony have to use words like this? Like, we get into your journalism major, bro. You ain't got a fuck with us.

Young Champions and Future Prospects

00:58:55
Speaker
Listen, I love it, dude. I love i love a good wordsmith, dude. What a bastard. He just knew I was going to be on here, so he had to put something like that in there. don't know. I'm hoping maybe they just test in the waters. Just keep it Mariah May.
00:59:09
Speaker
Maybe they'll just call her May. I just don't see her name as Mariah. The glamorous Mariah. Yeah. Maybe Mariah Glamour, maybe. Oh, my God. That's just repug. I mean, I can see. I'm not saying it'd be good, but I can just say that can see that, dude.
00:59:24
Speaker
Maybe just Mariah. Why does she need a last name? Just Mariah. the artist for That ain't good either. What's her real name? Look up her real name real quick, Shane. Let's see. Mariah May.
00:59:36
Speaker
Real name. Real nom de plume. Her real, um, it says her technically Mariah May Mead is her real name. Maybe it's Mariah Mead. Maybe she bucks the system and goes her real name. Yeah, her real name, Mariah May Mead. She's going to be the glamorous May Mead.
00:59:53
Speaker
oh my God. She was born in 1998. Jeez. You know, there still has not been WWE champion born in 1990 or after. Really? There has not been a WWE champion born in 1990 or after.
01:00:05
Speaker
What? Yeah, I guess you're right, dude. That's how old the roster is skewed, man. For women's or men's or just men? Just the men's. Okay, I was like, what? Yeah, because Tiffany, she's definitely a big belt. I mean, again, all due respect to the women. We know there's really only one belt that matters in WWE. That's the WWE Championship. The one Cena's got right now. Tiffany may be a 2000s baby. there's ah Yeah, there has not been...
01:00:28
Speaker
a male WWE world champion since, uh, born, out born in the nineties. How crazy and is that? Tiffany Tiffany's 1999. I was close. Seth and Roman are both 1985. I think Cody, maybe 85, 86. Yeah.
01:00:45
Speaker
He may be 84. I don't know. Cody, co you know, Cody's older than Nick Aldis. Good lord. Yeah. Cody Rhodes. I think he's 85. 85 was a good year. That's my great year. It hasn't been too many even from the late 80s that have won it, man. So yeah, it's ah it's a pretty wild, man. That's a crazy stat any time it pops up, man. um Yeah, every time yeah you've mentioned that before, but every time you say it, it's just kind of like, oh, really? Yeah.
01:01:13
Speaker
I think Trick Williams will be the first to break it, man. How old is Trick Williams? ah Let's see. We're talking the WWE Championship, not World Heavyweight. You get bit more play with the World Heavyweight Championship. He was born in 94, so he's 31 right now.
01:01:28
Speaker
I can see Trick doing it.

Event Food and Critiques

01:01:30
Speaker
wo That's the thing. Even if somebody was born in 1991, they're still 35, which is like, yeah. at At best, you're kind of at the peak of your wrestling career. Yeah. Yeah, we haven't had a young champ in a long time. but All right. Tony Barker, what's on the Money in the Bank menu?
01:01:46
Speaker
don't know. It's going to be out in LA. anything planned, Sheen? Maybe some good tacos. That sounds good. Maybe do some tacos? Yeah. Okay. I guess tacos it is for us. How about you, Jordan? Hadn't really planned anything.
01:01:58
Speaker
Me and Seth got a big Fortnite event on Saturday afternoon. know. That's all I've heard about is the freaking, you know, driving the freaking Death Ship, dude, or Death Star. Well, we're going be taking over the Death Yeah, taking over the Death We're fighting Empire.
01:02:11
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah, i don't know. I mean, we might do tacos or something like that as well. I'll probably grill something out at least. It's definitely 100% grilling season mode. might do some like really good like fish or shrimp tacos, dude. What if we do this? What if we have like some decent food, right?
01:02:25
Speaker
But then you make one plate of like something really, really good and suspend it from like a tree out in the backyard. And yeah one of us one of the family members has to get a ladder and climb up and retrieve the really good plate and they get the best meal. Hey, you get like some Walmart ground beef and then you put like some steak tacos up in a tree.
01:02:45
Speaker
You got Wagyu steak tacos up in the tree. one first you just said You have your plain like white people tacos do where it's like, you know, just the just the mix and the, um you know, the ground beef, the conventional ground beef. Jesus. And yeah, then some Wagyu. is wrong with you, Seth? Yeah.
01:03:02
Speaker
Climb that ladder, kid. Feel that belly. Oh, my God. Okay, Tony Barker also says, how do you guys feel about the current criticisms of wwe WWE at the moment? Warranted or nothing to see here? And then the OG Fig Kid ah popped in and said, not warranted. I feel like this has been the strongest they've been coming out of a mania season. All three shows have been solid. So I feel like it's post-peak, dude.
01:03:24
Speaker
We're still freaking leagues ahead of where we were They're in like the end of the the Vince era, right? But it's definitely come down a decent amount from kind of like, you know, WrestleMania 40 is really where it peaked, dude, right? That build to WrestleMania was just one of the all time, man, probably top five or six, you know, kind of road to WrestleMania in the history of WWF. And it's just, it's naturally, it's come down a little bit. So I think, I think it's a mix of that along with some of the over commercialism, right? Like you just,
01:03:54
Speaker
it You know, a couple years from now, we'll just take it as like, that's just the way things are. But as you're seeing it happen in real time, yeah you can't help but be turned off by it, along with some fan favorites getting released. And the other thing is, at the same time, AEW has kind of been on a little bit of a hot streak these last five, six months, man. So I think it's, I think some of the negative aspects of WWE are all just kind of lining up to get accentuated right now. I kind of agree. I don't think it's as bad as like people are you know,
01:04:17
Speaker
I don't think they're going to go back to 2017, 2018 levels of just like shit product. Where it was just unwatchable.

Repetitive WWE Shows

01:04:25
Speaker
There were there were literal like yeah consecutive weeks of Raw that were just absolutely unwatchable, dude. Yeah, but but no, there are there are definitely some valid criticisms, man. so what do you think that what What's the loudest criticism you think is out there?
01:04:37
Speaker
but I think the biggest thing is just the over-commercialization, right? like it's It's that. Which I freaking hate. Yeah, my biggest criticism is just... I like the slow moving stories, man. i'm Like let stuff breathe, but it's gone too slow, dude. It's like the drip feed of storylines, man. Like how long has the judgment day been in like a mild state of turmoil? You know what i mean? Yeah. Like the shit's lasted forever. The solo Jacob Fatu thing. Like how long are we going to keep teasing it?
01:05:00
Speaker
Before that finally blows up, man. So I think if you could just maybe put a little bit more gas on the storyline. So I think the slow the super duper slow move storylines are my biggest complaint. Yeah. I was going to say and just how repetitive it's been on like weekly TV. Like it feels like you see a lot of the same match weekend and week out.

Food and Sponsorship Humor

01:05:20
Speaker
I don't, I think Tom's crazy saying like, this is the strongest but it's been coming out of WrestleMania ever. Like to I don't think it's that great right now. I mean, it's good. NXT is great, but the other two, just they're really hit or miss for me when I watch them.
01:05:37
Speaker
How many times can we see Jacob look at Solo like he's super annoyed with him, but it just doesn't go anywhere? At first, I was like, am I just being a hater? But like me and Seth talked about this one night, and yeah I don't know. it just if It does feel really repetitive right now, which that's when they got into a bad state of affairs is when it was just the same thing over and over every week. Well, dude.
01:05:58
Speaker
we I mean, the thing about it is is, like, you know, we went from like the past of having like freaking 10 match cards where like you got us expedite storylines. And now there's only going to be four or five matches on each like card. And they're trying to maximize viewership for each match.
01:06:12
Speaker
like pay-per-view or you ple or whatever right so it's like they're gonna slow drip everything until it's just like oh we can put this on this this ple put this on this ple like yeah we're getting jay and gunther's rematch on episode of raw they gotta smoke you in the head with it 50 times before they'll actually pay it off hey we just saw the commercial man bonus listener real question jordan have you tried the new popeye snack wrap yet have not i'm going to try it this weekend but i've not tried it yet I can't imagine it's not going freaking be amazing. Yeah. It's going to be a slab.
01:06:43
Speaker
Where is the closest Popeye's to here? I don't know. There's one kind of close to work in Millington for me. That's way away. Yeah. I was going to say, I'm never, i never see Popeye's anymore. Um, I'm sure there's some like, you know, closer into town, but nothing out here in our, our neck of the woods.
01:06:58
Speaker
Sam Rosenthal wants to know to either of you subscribed to Cora Jade's only fans. <unk>to does We just brought them up. So ask him how it is. He's probably got the illegal feed. Um,
01:07:10
Speaker
Zach Hertzler, which male and female superstar will stand out during the Money in the Bank matches? I think Steph. think it's going to be the Steph and Julia show, and I think Steph will shine. For the men, I say Andrade and El Grande Americano, man. I think going the guys getting the biggest spots.
01:07:27
Speaker
Yeah, I agree with all that. I do think Steph is going to absolutely shine on Saturday night. Yeah, it's going to be awesome.

Future Event Attendance

01:07:35
Speaker
Oh, God. ah Our buddy from across the pond, Phil Dunnett, has a question for Seth. I can't believe I'm even even reading this on the air. How excited are you for Slim Jim sponsorship?
01:07:45
Speaker
And how many do you think you could fit up your phone? I like Slim Jim. You know Slim Jim is an absolutely delicious snack, dude. Like, it always has been. I feel like it's... I've i've never been off of Slim Jims, man. I've never been like... Nobody's ever offered me a Slim Jim, I've been like, hell no, dude. you're You're always at minimum welcoming of an offered Slim Jim.
01:08:03
Speaker
Up the bum. We need you to write back next week and specify, dude. Are we talking long boys? Are we talking like the little ones you get in the mini packs, like 14 to a pack? The savage dicks. Are we talking about the macho, the savage ones, dude? So, yeah. Write back next week and specify...
01:08:16
Speaker
Which, you know, which, uh, you know, model and flavor. Cause that's going to make a difference. Oh, Tabasco is definitely not going to yeah Yeah. Oh, Sam Rosenthal. I think this is our last question of the evening. Sam Rosenthal. When is the next wrestling event you are attending? Uh, me and Brett are going to Memphis wrestling on Sunday. It's going to awesome.

what is the What do you think will be the next may like ah you know mainstream? If AEW comes back by, I'm definitely supporting that. Yeah. i mean Ideally, we were planning on you know taking Bret to his first WrestleMania when it came to Nashville.

But, I mean, who knows? By then, the tickets would probably be like, you know, $10,000 a piece. Yeah, that's still happening. I think that's still happening. At a minimum, dude, maybe we do everything except actually go to Mania. Maybe we throw like a watch party or something to watch Mania.
