Marco's Podcast Journey

00:00:22
Speaker
Welcome back everybody to another episode of Open Mic with the MVP Marco.
00:00:30
Speaker
I'm of course obviously Marco you've heard my voice for the past I think it's the eighth episode so far so yeah I'm hopefully hopefully you listen to this now and if not I don't blame you if you if you hated it so far but I know I'm glad to have everyone back in this episode is a this one's this one's a pretty good one I think it's a someone new for our audience
00:00:57
Speaker
I'm not sure if anyone knows this individual, but you definitely will by the time this episode ends.

About Pod Foundation

00:01:04
Speaker
Obviously, every time I say this, I'm brought to you by the Pod Foundation, which is obviously the collection of content creators I like to say.
00:01:16
Speaker
that we that we affiliated with so we have a turnbuckle tavern they're the war courses obviously last week I had their two founders on the show so definitely listen to that episode it was a really good one it's definitely it was a pretty long one it's about an hour and a half usually these ones a little bit shorter but you know we just you know we couldn't stop talking
00:01:37
Speaker
I have, but we also have Coming Down the Isle with J-Bone. We have The Extra Cooler Show with Nick, obviously known as Extra Cooler. Definitely follow him if you haven't. He's sort of the best artist out there right now. And then, obviously, The Chick Foley Show, which, you know, that brought this whole thing together. So that's myself, Sheena, The Hail Husband, Seth Phelps, as well as the Fig God, Jordan Wells.

Introducing Tia, the Pretty Fig Collector

00:02:01
Speaker
But let's move on to the episode.
00:02:04
Speaker
So this person I actually I'm not sure how I Found this person on on Instagram. I do follow a lot of collectors and you know different types of you know figure related Accounts, but this one individual popped up and I was like, huh. This is the this is the first time I've seen This type of collector because you know you I'm used to seeing you know Sheena obviously, you know who she is shitfully. She to me is like the you know the main
00:02:35
Speaker
female figure collector out there, not even just female, just figure collector in general. And we have someone else that's stepped into the realm, into the arena, as they like to say. She goes by the name of the Pretty Fig Collector, also known as Tia.

Tia's Collecting Background

00:02:54
Speaker
How are you doing? Hello, I'm doing very well. Thank you for having me, Marco. How are you?
00:03:06
Speaker
I'm fine, um...
00:03:08
Speaker
Yeah. So like I said, I, uh, you know, you know, with Instagram and the algorithms and how everything works out right now, you know, you definitely come across some, you know, you have different accounts and different individuals. Um, I kind of try to keep track of every, of everybody that I've, you know, that I run into and I kinda, you know, for the show, definitely want to interview and, you know, bring a little spotlight to them. Um, and you're definitely one of those, um, mainly because you're, I think the unique way that you.
00:03:39
Speaker
Put your content out there as far as like, you know figure collecting Stuff like that. So I kind of want to you know
00:03:46
Speaker
get a grasp on, you know, let's start from the beginning. Where did, actually, you know what, we'll start with this. Where did you start collecting, not just wrestling figures, but, you know, just collecting in

Wrestling and Collection Growth

00:03:59
Speaker
general? Okay, so I actually started collecting about 30, not 33 years ago. And it actually started with action figures, wrestling in particular. I
00:04:13
Speaker
I've always been a fan since I was a little girl, but growing up in a Hispanic household I was never allowed to watch what they would consider a
00:04:23
Speaker
you know, a boy sport or, you know, a manly sport, let alone play with action figures or stuff of that nature. So I, you know, I've always been, like I said, I've been a fan. I had an uncle who was really into it and I would sneak and watch with him sometimes, you know, when I could. And that's where I found my love of wrestling. And it was just so happened to be during what I consider the best era for wrestling, the attitude era. And I just, I fell in love.
00:04:51
Speaker
And, you know, years later as an adult, I was like, you know what, I think it's I think it's time, you know, that I have, you know, toys of my

Rekindling Wrestling Fandom

00:05:00
Speaker
own. And, you know, here we are three years later. And my collection is just growing and growing. And I'm going to be happier. And I actually started with series 77, SummerSlam, Bray Wyatt. And that was it's a figure that I hold near and dear to my heart.
00:05:21
Speaker
It's also when I came back into watching wrestling and just fell in love with it all over. And this is like an early 2017 and 18, I would say. So, but it's, it's been quite a journey, I would say, Luis. You know, what did you.
00:05:39
Speaker
Yeah, so you said you got back into wrestling. When did you leave? Did you leave after the Attitude Era? Because I can definitely pinpoint the time I stepped away from wrestling. I think a lot of wrestling fans did that at some point. Yes, it was right after the Attitude Era. And like I said, I wasn't allowed to watch it. It was frowned upon. So I would watch, like I said, as I could. But it wasn't until my earlier adult or my later adult
00:06:09
Speaker
not later adult years that I want to sound old. But like my late 20s when I came back into wrestling, I was about to make myself sound really old. But no, I, you know, and honestly, I would watch like, you know, Total Divas and stuff like that. And, you know, that would pick my brain, but it wasn't enough. You know, it wasn't,
00:06:38
Speaker
until I got

Community and Influence Discussion

00:06:39
Speaker
back into it. And I was like, oh, this is what I've been missing this whole time. And I haven't stopped watching since. And I think, you know, we're at a great go ahead. I'm sorry.
00:06:55
Speaker
Oh yeah, no, no, I was gonna say, that actually reminds me of, I had Figure Kingdom on here a few episodes back. I'm not sure if you're, are you familiar with Figure Kingdom? Yes, Manny, Figure Kingdom, love him. Yes, Figure Kingdom, he's a great friend. Yeah, yeah, man. Shout out, Manny. So, yeah, he's awesome.
00:07:15
Speaker
Yeah, we kind of call him the unofficial member of our Pod Foundation group, because I've used some of his photography for our artwork for some of the shows and stuff like that. So he's in our Facebook group and everything. He's a great guy. But I think he mentioned something like that, too. He said in his household, I think he did say that he wasn't allowed to watch it either.
00:07:45
Speaker
but it was same ways as always that relative that kind of sneaks it on you and you're able to get a glimpse of what

Breaking Societal Norms as a Female Collector

00:07:54
Speaker
you're not supposed to be watching. So yeah, that's actually kind of intriguing in that sense where, you know,
00:08:02
Speaker
Was it like a like a religious thing? Or was it just like, you know, it was like a violent thing. It was it was a little bit. It was a little bit of it all. I was growing up in a Hispanic household being a being a little girl. You know, I was supposed to be learning to cook and to clean and playing with Barbies. You know, there was this social gender expectation that, you know, little girls are not supposed to be into wrestling or, you know, stuff of that nature.
00:08:30
Speaker
And I think that's what drew it, drew me to it even more was the fact that I wasn't allowed to watch it. And, you know, it's just, it just instilled in me. And like I said, I carried it with me, you know, throughout my whole life. And I'm so glad that I didn't fall out of love with it completely, because I feel like we're in an era where, you know, wrestling is becoming great again, and I'm here for it. And now I have all these figs to tell the stories of
00:08:59
Speaker
moments in wrestling that I remember.

Supportive Toy Community

00:09:03
Speaker
That's the reason why I started collecting is because I may not have been able to partake in certain events, but I do have figures from these moments. That's why I love collecting.
00:09:20
Speaker
That's actually interesting. I actually never thought of that. Obviously, when you collect something, it's there for memories and stuff like that. You pull it off the shelf or what have you out of a box or a band and you look at it and you're like, I remember this. But I never actually put that together where it's like you're almost collecting moments as well when you're collecting anything. Most of the wrestling figures, for instance, they're
00:09:48
Speaker
you know, the gear is based on a certain type of gear. Or, you know, if it's like a pack, like if it's like a two pack or three pack, it's usually based on like a certain moment. In that, you know, whatever insert wrestling organizations, history, and that actually like, you may have been there in person to see it, you may have, like you say, watching on TV with a relative, you may, you know, you may have been with a friend when that moment happened. And, you know, when you when you collect something like that, you're like, it definitely, you know,
00:10:17
Speaker
It brings that memory alive even more, I think. It really does. You actually just brought that, you know, kind of brought that... It really does,

Mentorship and Online Presence

00:10:27
Speaker
yes. Like you said, with the, you know, that...
00:10:30
Speaker
Yeah. Like you said, with the Fiend figure, because that was the first figure, that's always going to be that sentimental... I mean, it's a scary looking figure, but it's going to be the most sentimental figure to you because it was that first figure in the collection.
00:10:49
Speaker
So were you collecting any other type of figures and stuff like that, not just wrestling? Because I see on some of your videos, you always fake hunting, which will get to that as well. But I see you look at the Star Wars figures. So do you have a mass collection of not just WWE or AEW figures, but other genres? Yes, actually, I do collect other things.
00:11:17
Speaker
Um, I did, I do collect other things. Um, I also have, um, like Funko pops. I do, um, some like pop vinyl pop culture things. Also, um, I have some Star Wars things as well. Um, and I want to say we have some turtles. Uh, I have a turtle van and I have a few of, um, the most recent turtle double packs that came out.
00:11:45
Speaker
But my collecting all started kind of at one point together. I went from not collecting at all to the next day collector overload. I fell in love with the first figure that I bought and kind of gone down a rabbit hole since then with everything that I buy.

Community Engagement through Podcasts

00:12:03
Speaker
Because I thought I was going to stick with just wrestling for years. And here we are, you know, like I said, three years later, and I just have an array of different, you know, things that I love. And I'm so grateful for it because, again, these are things that I was not allowed to have at one point in my life. So.
00:12:24
Speaker
It's pretty neat. And I actually owe, you know, like my fig hunting and my love for collecting to, I'm not sure if you know him, but super Gabby. He is somebody who actually is like my mentor, who I spoke with before even starting my account because
00:12:44
Speaker
I found his YouTube and fell in love with you know how great he was the collecting at that point he was doing a lot of fig hunting and he's just a comical all around great person and so shout out to super gabby because he's the one who actually pushed me to create a separate account and you know could start
00:13:04
Speaker
showcasing my collection because I have my personal account on Instagram. And that one, it was getting a lot of hate from friends. They wouldn't understand why I was posting toys and stuff of that nature. So finding, I mean, not finding, but making my own Instagram and finding the toy community. It has been such a great, a great place for me to be because now I feel like I have friends from all over the place who I can share my love for plastic with and it's amazing.
00:13:35
Speaker
Yeah, it's the most important part of it as well. I think every episode up until this point, we've talked about the community and the amount of almost networking that you go through when you're in this.

Content Creation Approach

00:13:53
Speaker
Not just figure collecting, but even like you said, just being a wrestling fan. You meet so many different people, you meet cosplayers,
00:14:03
Speaker
which I, which I had a few episodes ago. I had, um, if you're not familiar over the moonsault, um, she, uh, she, she's really awesome. Yeah. Um, I had her. Yeah. And, uh, uh, yeah, super Gabby. So actually I've learned, I learned him through the major bros, um, the major wrestling figure podcast. Cause they, you know, he'll, they'll do videos with him sometimes, or Matt Cardona will travel to his, uh,
00:14:32
Speaker
storage unit area and they make good content. Those videos are usually pretty hilarious.
00:14:40
Speaker
Yeah, he's out that I didn't know that he was kind of like I didn't know he was a kind of like mentor He got you into a figure collector. That's pretty interesting in that sense. Yeah, usually uh, it's like you know, you know you listen to a podcast or you see something or Have you like interacted with them like you messaged like back and forth? How did that how did that work out? Like how did he yeah, we are actually good friends Like I said, I started collecting about three years ago. So, you know, I reached out to him and just
00:15:09
Speaker
gave him kudos on what he did because as a creator myself at this point I wasn't the pretty fig collector. I was still my personal IG so

Spreading Joy through Content

00:15:20
Speaker
I just reached out and told him that I also had a love for collecting and I admired what he did and he responded and we started building and interacting through DMs and friendships and
00:15:36
Speaker
Now, we're friends. Like I said, we speak on a regular basis. I go to him when I want to bounce off ideas with ideas that I have for the future of the brand, which is always what I'm searching for is the next step for PFC. Shout out to Super Gabby because he is an amazing person. I really have built a great relationship with this man. He's pretty cool.
00:16:05
Speaker
Besides, who else have you, like, obviously me?
00:16:12
Speaker
Because I interact with you as well. Who else in the community have you reached out to or has reached out to you? I've been on a few other podcasts that they've reached out. One of them being The Three Ring Kings. They've actually had me on for my very first podcast and I will be on a show tomorrow with them as well. And then I also have the All About Wrestling Now podcast. They also had me on. Shout out to them.
00:16:44
Speaker
and the Knuckleheads podcast as well. They also gave me an opportunity to join them and it was great. I've been very blessed to have people find interest in me, I will say the least, because I just feel like I'm just this positivity spreading girl who collects toys.

Overcoming OCD in Collecting

00:17:04
Speaker
So I'm very humbled when you guys, like yourself and everybody else has reached out.
00:17:10
Speaker
you know find an interest in little old me so I do thank you and shout out to everybody else who's had me off yeah like I said I reached out to you because you know as far as like you know you know content creators and I just
00:17:29
Speaker
just in general, like women in collecting, like me, I rarely see it. Like I said, I'm more obviously familiar with Sheena Chick Foley, who's like one of the main fakers out there. You don't see a female out there, just like their account solely dedicated to wrestling collecting, not even just collecting. You see other collectors like comic book collectors and
00:17:58
Speaker
you know, like I said, like, you know, cosplays and stuff like that, but you don't see, you're like the only other account, I could be wrong, but the only other account I see that's actually like, you know, showing your fig hunts and all that stuff, you know, showing your collection and all the things, and I see that you're actually, actually, we're gonna get to this, because the Chick Foley show, strictly MOC. But actually, not even MOC, they're, we like to bust things open.
00:18:34
Speaker
do like to, you know, open our figures. But at first, when I first started, I was just a strictly MOC person.

Podcast Aspirations and Community Support

00:18:43
Speaker
I never over my figures. And, you know, it was just like, I couldn't fit everything. It was like everything was in boxes. So, you know, Sheena, like, gave me the, you know, the pep talk and was like, you know what, you should start to start opening them up. Just like, she was like, it'll feel much better. Once they're open, you get to like, you know,
00:18:48
Speaker
be like, not that way, sorry.
00:18:59
Speaker
you know display them and all the stuff i'm like you know what let me try it so i did try it and i couldn't stop after that um and i know you're mainly but i did see that you actually you know what why did you what's the why don't you
00:19:14
Speaker
like to open up your figures because I know you started doing that. I've seen a few of the videos on your YouTube and you started to do unboxings and stuff like that. But how much has it come? Well, it pains me a lot. I will tell you, it was not easy. When I tell you
00:19:35
Speaker
The video will show my reaction using the anxiety was all over my face. I didn't want to open it, but I knew that I had to do it for, you know, for the sake of, you know, new content and the sake of doing things a new way. Now, I also mentioned all the other things that I do have. I will not be opening, but this was an exception.
00:19:55
Speaker
You know, to the first of, I'm assuming you had the unboxing. But I don't open for the sole purpose that I feel like, not that I ever want to get rid of my collection, but they're just
00:20:11
Speaker
They just, they, aside from the value and stuff of that nature, I just, I feel like my OCD wouldn't let me put them

Historical Impact of Wrestling Figures

00:20:19
Speaker
a certain way. I would have to consistently clean them. I still have to clean down these boxes, but it's easier than having to go through little nicks and crayons, like, you know, in between the figs and whatnot. So.
00:20:30
Speaker
I think that's why I've stayed mock the whole time. But the videos that I did make, I was like, you know what? Let's do it. And my subscribers loved it. My followers on IG thought it was so cool. Some people couldn't believe that I did it. But I'm like, hey, there's the first time for everything.
00:20:58
Speaker
that's funny because uh yeah i was i was actually i see that and i was just like i was like oh man i was like she's actually gonna open some stuff up that's uh that's pretty interesting you like you said you could see kind of like the not anxiety but you like see see kind of sphere but didn't you like when you'd been open it you did like get to see like you know like the actual like the the accessories that come with it and all that stuff wasn't that a little bit like
00:21:23
Speaker
Did that entice you to want to continue to unbox more figures?

Interest in Figure Photography

00:21:30
Speaker
Yes, it really did. I have this love for action figure photography, just seeing how people create such amazing pictures with their action figures. And I think that if I ever opened my figures going forward, I would want to maybe
00:21:48
Speaker
dabble in that a little bit because I feel like these pictures are created and they look, you know, amazing. A picture can tell a million words and I think that that would be, you know, the greatest way to showcase my figs if I do choose to open them. But we'll see. I don't know if we can go down that lane just yet.
00:22:14
Speaker
Yeah, but like you said, with a lot of figure photographers and stuff like that, like I said, I pretty much only follow one. I follow maybe a few, but the main one is obviously for me, Figure Kingdom. And I enjoy his work. He's amazing when it comes to his craft.
00:22:34
Speaker
And he, you know, on that episode that I had him on, we kind of go in depth on, you know, his ideas and how he does all this stuff. And yeah, I enjoy seeing, you know, with like, you know, ringside, for instance, you know, they they post something, and it's like an advertisement for, you know, a new figure that's coming out. And it's a, you know, it's it's from him. Like he's a he's a photographer, they give him the credit for and stuff. Because he's, you know, he does like, he does like other stuff like, you know, jazzwares and
00:23:01
Speaker
Mattel and all that stuff. But just knowing him and being friends with him and stuff like that, I think it's just really cool to see other people use their talents.

Social Media Strategy

00:23:14
Speaker
And everyone else gets to see it too. And they're successful in that. So yeah, it's pretty awesome. So if you get into figure photography, you're probably looking for that route as well. Get maybe a deal or something like that with
00:23:29
Speaker
I would definitely go for it. I have no time in my schedule to do any figure photography. I definitely would love to do it, but this is enough. I actually do three shows, but this is enough for me right now.
00:23:47
Speaker
We'll get to this a little bit later because I usually ask about what your plans are for your brand and stuff like that, but is figure photography something that you're looking to get into? Because you are going to have to open up figures if you want to do this. You never know. I'm always looking to move to the next level with PFC. So who knows? Maybe down the road, I'll start taking pics as well.
00:24:18
Speaker
I think that's usually the next step when you have that much of a collection and the influencing part of it, the social media influencing.

Life Beyond Collecting

00:24:31
Speaker
I could see you probably definitely taking that route, but I want to talk about your social media influencing and how you go about your videos and stuff like that because I think they're pretty unique in the sense where you
00:24:44
Speaker
You know, obviously it's not on, you know, Instagram isn't TikTok, but you kind of take like the TikTok trends with the, you know, the way they do their videos and you kind of, you translate it to figure collecting, which is pretty unique because I've never, I mean, I could be totally wrong. I could be living in a bubble, but I've never seen
00:25:05
Speaker
That done that way like you being like it's not just like a picture of a or like a video of a figure and you know The you know, there's audio in the back on it's like you mouthing the words and doing like all this stuff So like where did where did that idea come from? to kind of
00:25:22
Speaker
to kind of pivot that type of TikTok type of video presentation. So when it comes to my videos, I'm always looking to create fun and engaging content.
00:25:38
Speaker
You're right. A lot of people display with just a picture, with just a gradual video of the fig itself.

Rave and Wrestling Fashion

00:25:47
Speaker
But I felt that with all the TikTok stuff that's going on right now, I'm a super bubbly, happy person, just on a regular basis.
00:25:56
Speaker
stuff like that I really enjoy but you know mixing it in with my figure collecting was just so genius for me because I was like I'm bringing the best of both worlds stuff that I like on both ends and mixing it into one and I didn't know if it was going to work I just knew that I really liked TikTok and I really liked you know
00:26:19
Speaker
showcasing my figs. So I was like, what if I mix both, you know, I, I personally haven't seen it myself either. Maybe I'm also living in a bubble. But I was like, it would be really neat to do these trends. And then at some point, you know, showcase the figure at some point,
00:26:36
Speaker
you know, bring the figure into play and it, you know, people really took to it and really liked it. And I, after that, I ran with it.

Musical Influences on Lifestyle

00:26:44
Speaker
Um, and it's, it's been very, it's been very fun to say the least creating, you know, new content to put out, um, when new trends come out and stuff of that nature, how am I going to incorporate my new fig with the new trend? So it keeps me on my toes for sure. But it also keeps everything fun as well.
00:27:06
Speaker
Oh yeah, no, I can definitely tell you having fun doing those videos. And I kinda wanna ask if like, do you get like, how do these ideas come to you to do these, the different videos and use the different, you know, different audio and different musics and stuff like that that you see? Is it stuff that you're like kinda, you know, collecting or seeing on TikTok and Instagram and you're kinda like, huh, oh, maybe I could do that with this type of figure or something like that. Is that how it's,
00:27:36
Speaker
How does your brain work in that sense? Yeah, pretty much. You know, I just I hit the reels tab and I just start, you know, scrolling. And if something, you know, audio wise or visually catches my attention and I like it, I think to myself, OK, can I incorporate this or how can I incorporate it?

Collecting Hip-Hop Figures

00:27:55
Speaker
Or if I don't think that I can incorporate it in that moment, I don't have a thought, I'll still save it and come back to it later.
00:28:01
Speaker
um and I just I have so many audio saved but they always come in handy it's like there's always that one audio that's gonna go with the certain fig because it doesn't always work because that's why sometimes I started doing voiceovers um which people really appreciate as well and um just the music also but I don't feel like music over a video is enough I mean for myself personally because I've already
00:28:29
Speaker
put myself on, you know, like on the screen where people are like wanting to see more of, you know, I guess the character. So I definitely try to push more towards, you know, the trends and stuff of that nature. And I also have a TikTok that I keep keep up with on that side as well. But I'm mostly on Instagram. Do you have
00:28:56
Speaker
Do you ever go to like, Twitter at all? Yeah, I'm actually at The Pretty Fae Collector across all platforms. I actually just created a Facebook page as well. So yeah, feel free to, you know, hit those like buttons, subscribe, you know, YouTube, all that good stuff.

Future Brand Plans

00:29:15
Speaker
Follow IG, Twitter. Yeah, definitely. Because I guess I did.
00:29:20
Speaker
Oh yeah, follow the Pretty Fig Collector everywhere because you'll definitely be entertained. Like I said, your videos are definitely entertaining. Like I said, you have that unique kind of balance between the trends that are happening, like you said, on reels or TikTok, and you kind of add

add figures into it which is which is pretty fun that's why i asked like you know where these ideas come from uh do you write like do you write anything down like do you have like a um like a notebook because i remember when i spoke to uh mani um he he mentioned he writes everything down like any ideas he has he literally has like a notebook yes he doesn't use his phone and he literally pen to paper literally writes everything down
00:30:08
Speaker
Yeah, see me and Manny are very similar. Definitely very similar in that aspect. I cannot write stuff down on my phone because I feel like I need my phone to post the content. So pen and paper, old school all day. I write down ideas. I write down future posts that I would like to

Collecting Strategies and Advice

00:30:28
Speaker
incorporate. I have a planner where I have a schedule.
00:30:31
Speaker
as far as the times that I want to post things. I need to keep everything in order because it's more than just me getting in front of my phone and acting silly. I do put a lot of thought into everything that I do when it comes to the PFC, the brand. And I created this page
00:30:57
Speaker
a year and some change. I want to say it's like a year and a few months, like three months ago. So to go from zero to where we are now, it's been very humbling, but also I love it because it just, it keeps me going and it pushes me to, you know, be greater, be greater than I was the day before. Not that I'm great or I'm saying I'm great, but I want to make, I just want to be better for everybody.
00:31:29
Speaker
Yeah, that was actually going to be my next, like, my follow-up question. You actually kind of answered a little bit with, like, your motivations, like, what motivates you to...
00:31:36
Speaker
you know, do this stuff, because it is a lot of work. Like I said, everyone I've had on this show, we always talk about the amount of work, whether it's decent, like we said, figure photography, cosplaying, collecting, being a podcaster, all that stuff. It seems like it's easy, but it isn't. It's almost like having a second full-time job, like I

Favorite Collecting Spots

00:32:01
Speaker
always say. So what are your motivations to continue doing
00:32:07
Speaker
this, essentially, collecting, doing all this content and stuff like that. What motivates you to do that? Ultimately, you know, for me, I love to just spread joy and positivity. And a lot of the messages that I receive are people reaching out saying how much they appreciate my content, how much I brighten their day, how much, you know, they look forward to my posts and stuff of that nature.
00:32:31
Speaker
So I think for me, I find that so gratifying knowing that, you know, my 15 seconds or 20 seconds or whatever it is that I'm posting will make a difference or bring a smile to people's faces. And that in itself is enough for me, because I feel like the world is such a crazy
00:32:52
Speaker
you know, horrible place. And, you know, at the end of the day, some of us, especially toy collectors, we're really isolated, you know, we, we say to ourselves, because people don't understand our passion, they find it weird, you know, we're looked or frowned upon, you know, looked at some kind of way. And I just, I just want to make, make it be known that it's, it's the norm, you know, and
00:33:14
Speaker
people like me who look a certain way are

Challenges of Collecting Exclusives

00:33:18
Speaker
also this way who collect and I think when people can you know relate to somebody like me they're like oh wow she you know she's also into collecting she's not snobby she's actually really cool that for me is the gratification that I need to keep going because I really I love making new friends and I love making people happy
00:33:40
Speaker
So I don't, I feel like this, the high that I receive when people reach out and show me love and appreciation, or even like this where people want to know my, you know, my story, that makes me feel so humbled within where I'm just like, wow, maybe, you know, maybe not that I see it as a gift, but maybe it's a gift that keeps on giving because I can now give that love back to the community that gives me the love in return.
00:34:11
Speaker
Yeah, definitely. I totally agree. Yeah, especially like you said, there's a lot of, you know, in the world, you know, there's a lot of like negativity and a lot of, you know, like sadness and stuff like that. So, and there's one thing that, you know, brings us all together as collectors, as well, even even wrestling, wrestling, you know, that's one of the things you can escape to where you're not you don't have to really
00:34:35
Speaker
you know, deal with any of that negativity. I mean, if you go on, if you go on, uh, the IWC or the, uh, or wrestling Twitter, as far as like the actual sport of wrestling, uh, that's where you can go to escape. Like you, you know, you leave all your troubles behind. There's no, there's no real world politics. There's nothing going on in wrestling, but you know,
00:34:59
Speaker
good and evil in that sense where it's the bad guy versus the good guy.

Significant Figure Collections

00:35:03
Speaker
That's all you're watching. You understand why, you talked about earlier, you're a fan of the attitude error and kind of now you understand why wrestling isn't as, it isn't the attitude error anymore. It's more geared towards kids so children can watch it because that's how they escape as well. I mean, they're watching their,
00:35:28
Speaker
very guys like my son, my son's like above it Roman Reigns. He thinks he's like the greatest thing ever. He thinks he's the strongest person ever. They look at these like many women like superheroes, essentially.
00:35:44
Speaker
And then I it's the same way I'm you know, I'm old like and I'm and I'm so watch about so and I see these like athletes the same like they're Extraordinary talents and stuff like that. I'm probably not as much as you know as a kid would see like they're like, you know They're these most extraordinary people but I still see the athleticism and I still see the kind of like superheroics that they do and
00:36:08
Speaker
I'm not sure where I was going with this, but just the escape part of it is what we're looking for, essentially. And I think if you're providing that in any way, that's going to help somebody's day out that's having a bad day. I think that's definitely something to be motivated by. But that's what I was going for, the motivation aspect of it.
00:36:32
Speaker
Yeah, so my next question for you is besides wrestling and figure collecting

Wrestling Match Recommendations

00:36:39
Speaker
and all this other stuff, what are your other interests? Just leaving all that stuff behind.
00:36:48
Speaker
Do you have like any other hobbies, anything you're interested in music? Yeah, actually, I attend music festivals. I'm a big raver. I've been raving for 10 years. That's a lot some other stuff that you'll see on my page as well. I love it. It's my passion. It's my other escape from reality where I can just go and listen to music to electronic dance music in particular.
00:37:14
Speaker
And it's just a place where, you know, everybody is just accepted and there's no hate. It's all about peace and love. And it's just, I, that's, that's another huge part of my life that, you know, it's also what I incorporate on my brand, on my page, because I feel like people need to know that that's also a side of me that's out there. And I actually like to incorporate, um, certain outfits to festivals, um, you know, like that to that pay homage to like certain,
00:37:42
Speaker
wrestlers or whatever the case may be, not necessarily like full-on cosplay, but certain pieces I'll pick up and be like, oh, well, this reminds me of, you know, Jeff Hardy, or this reminds me of this wrestler and kind of throw a wrestling outfit together for an event. So I like to, I like to do that. I love to cook. I'm also a mother, so that's another hobby that I have.
00:38:09
Speaker
But yeah, I'm just a regular girl aside from

Iconic Matches' Impact

00:38:13
Speaker
a huge toy collection and being a raver.
00:38:20
Speaker
I was gonna, I was gonna say, when you, when you put those like outfits together, do you, does, do you ever get anyone? Does that do, do you get like a wrestling fan that goes, Oh my God, I know what that's from. Do you ever get to do that? Yeah. So actually it was, I was recently at, um, uh, a festival called escape Halloween. And I was, I had the wing eagle, uh, belt. I had the title with me and I was wearing a raw is war jacket from chalk line official.
00:38:46
Speaker
And they, I just would get people to stop me like, hey, that's a sick ass jacket or, you know, hey, love the belt or, you know, stuff like that. And it was really cool, you know, and I actually, I think I seen, there was this, a guy dressed as Stone Cold and a guy dressed as Sting. But other than that, there wasn't really anybody dressed up as wrestlers. So it was, it was pretty neat to, you know, see other, you know, wrestling fans in the crowd.
00:39:17
Speaker
All you need is a, I always say all you need is that gateway person. So like, you know, obviously they're not, most, you know, casual fans aren't going to know the intricate, you know,
00:39:27
Speaker
know all the you know the Finn ballers and all that stuff they're just using his name not that people don't know but you know just in general but like people are gonna know sting people are gonna know you know Stone Cold Sea Boston, The Rock, Macho Man, Hulk Hogan, what have you so like you know that's all you need to draw somebody in and then and then you'll pull that uh you'll I mean

Final Thoughts and Future Collaborations

00:39:49
Speaker
what
00:39:50
Speaker
To the cool, we're all pretty much nerds. Yes, we are. We're big nerds, yes. In a geek, essentially. But you could pull that out of somebody just by wearing a wrestling shirt. I wear wrestling shirts day to day. I'll get some people that come and be like, oh my god, I love that shirt. There's a company called, I think it's Kfabe Clothing, where they have a t-shirt that says,
00:40:18
Speaker
I have the t-shirt. It's wrestling is real. People are fake. And I literally get compliments all the time. That's dope. Because it's like.
00:40:27
Speaker
I mean, it's, it holds true. Wrestling is the real, is the, uh, is the real deal. It really is. I love wrestling merch. And if I, if I see somebody in at the grocery store and they're wearing a wrestling shirt, I'm going to hit them with a two suite so they know what time it is. And if they don't give me one back, then I know that if they don't do it back, then I know they're just wearing the shirt.
00:40:52
Speaker
Yeah, that's the other thing too. You got to spot the posers out there that are just wearing wrestling shirts because it's a pop culture thing. But then you'll figure out the impact that somebody has.
00:41:10
Speaker
We'll say recently, you know, Scott Hall, Razor Ramone, rest in peace when he passed away. You see the amount of people just across like, across everywhere, across media, you know, save rest in peace to him and stuff like that. And if they didn't know him as Scott Hall, they knew him as Razor Ramone, which is pretty much like a icon. If you listen to hip hop, I mean, he's one of the fixtures in hip hop. Like, I mean, you could probably, I could probably spell,
00:41:39
Speaker
a million lyrics with a Razor Ramone reference to it. And then obviously you had Drake and everyone wearing the Razor Ramone Uzing Machismo shirt, the old school 90s shirt that you had and stuff like that. So there's fans out there. Some of them just don't, they don't show it. They don't show it all the time, but they definitely do. I think there's only one
00:42:01
Speaker
There's one rapper that is really into wrestling. I'm sure if you feel he is, he's one side guy. Yes, I am familiar. My friend Tim actually performed for him during Rolling Loud this year. So shout out Tim from SubwayMania. Yes. Oh, wow.
00:42:21
Speaker
Oh, Subway Man. I love Subway Man. I follow that. Yes, I love Subway Man. Yes. Subway Man is great. Definitely. They check them out also on YouTube. They're amazing. Great content over there. Yeah, West Side Gunner, he has songs named after different wrestlers and stuff like that.
00:42:45
Speaker
cover art and all that stuff. I pick up on it because I'm a wrestling fan, but I just like that he's bringing his wrestling fandom to like, not really, I will say mainstream pretty much, but I just love that there's a legit guy out there, a legit group, I should say, that whole crew. They bring in wrestling into music, which is awesome. It's like two of my loves.
00:43:14
Speaker
I love hip-hop and I love wrestling. You have my vote if you bring those two together. As far as music, what do you went to as far as obviously, you're a raver so we know you're into electronic and stuff like that, but are you into hip-hop or rock? Yes, big hip-hop head. What other genres of music? Big hip-hop head. Anything from
00:43:42
Speaker
you know, current, your Drake's to Wu Tang to, you know, Bay Area music. I'm into it all. As far as hip hop goes. Yeah. Because you're in California, right? Yes, I am in Cali. Yes, no, I am in Cali. Yes.
00:44:13
Speaker
You mentioned the Bay Area. Obviously, there's a lot of legends in the Bay Area. But I was going to say, I only brought that up because I seen on one of your videos, you purchased a Barbie Digital. Oh, yes. Was it a Super 7? Yes, shout out to Super 7. The reaction figure. Yes, I did. He was recent. I've just received him. Yeah, I was like.
00:44:39
Speaker
Yeah, that's a pretty unique figure. I was like, she must be really either like thought it was a cool figure or she's really into hip-hop and she knows what we need to do. The RZA is one of the greatest. Yes, I agree. He's one of the most amazing lyricists we've ever experienced in our lifetime. Again, what he did with Wu-Tang was great.
00:45:06
Speaker
you know off to his solo career it was even better and that bobby digital album is just incredible i love it and when i when i seen it super seven was dropping that i knew that i had to have it and i actually have the album too i just don't have it in um with the hardcover like the cd case but i have the cd as well um classic album beginning to end love it so i super seven they created that i knew i had to have it
00:45:38
Speaker
Yeah, I didn't even know they actually made that. I know they have ODB reaction figures and they're actually coming out with the ultimate.
00:45:46
Speaker
ODB, did you see that? Yes, I did see it. They have that Ultimate Edition series. Yeah. It looks pretty sick. It has a different head swaps. It has a microphone. That's nice. The packaging is the cover art for the Return to the 36 Chambers album that he did, which is pretty much like that album alone is timeless to me.
00:46:11
Speaker
It literally has every single genre of music on that album. He was singing. He was ahead of his time. A lot of the music you hear, not like a lot of the melodic type of rap and stuff like that. You go back and listen to that old DB album. He was singing well songs on that. He was singing R&B. He's rapping. He's doing everything on that album. You can literally get every single genre of music on that album.
00:46:40
Speaker
just bring it back to Bobby Digital. Like that album itself is kind of like ahead of its time because you can listen to that now and it doesn't sound dated at all. Like it's like just the beat select, the producing is just it's insane. It sounds futuristic. It really does. It doesn't sound like it has like like it's an expiration date. And I think that's maybe I appreciate it. Yeah, me too. And I think that was his vision when he created it, you know, be creating something that was going to be timeless, as you said, and
00:47:10
Speaker
He really nailed it because that that album is timeless for sure Yeah, I actually went back and started listening to some of his uh, some of his lyrics he's kind of like uh, kind of like predicted the future on a lot of uh, a lot of a lot of his lyrics like he he kind of uh because I went back and you know, obviously a lot of stuff that's happening in the real world and stuff like that and you know, I was like
00:47:35
Speaker
It kind of brought me back to some of his lyrics in the late 90s, and I'm like, I'm like, huh. So I went back and started listening. I'm like, oh my god, he kind of predicted a lot of this stuff that's happening right now, which is pretty insane. So that's everyone's homework. If you're a fan of the RZA, go back and listen to his guest lyrics or on his late albums, like the late 90s, 98 or so, and you'll hear him start to
00:48:04
Speaker
you know, kind of talk about what's happening now, which is pretty insane. But yeah, I can talk about music. Me too. The resident Wu Tang and all that stuff. I'm a huge video fan too. I'll run out of time. But I have that reaction figure, the Notorious B.I.G. Ready to Die. And it comes like a little gold chain. Oh, nice. I picked that up at Target Add 2.
00:48:32
Speaker
I'm a huge, I mean, the Ready to Die is one of my favorite albums of all time. That's another timeless album. I feel like- I mean, another classic, not just because- Nighting's hip hop was just different. Nighting's hip hop, especially like East Coast hip hop, it was so different for me. And being on the West Coast, I always was like, wow, I just
00:48:54
Speaker
I would love to live over there and these stories that they would paint and tell and everything. I was just like, wow. There's just so much culture on that side. I love it. I love how music can bring that feeling to us. Yeah. I was the opposite. I was a West Coast hip hop fan in the 90s. I was an East Coast hip hop fan.
00:49:25
Speaker
First album I ever owned was Dr. Dre The Chronic. That doggy style as well. Or he was Snoop Doggy Dogg at the time. Yeah, just those two.
00:49:40
Speaker
Yeah. Just sonically, too. I'm not sure what he was recording back in the 90s or the way he was recording, but unless he was recording at a high frequency. But you can listen to... There's no crackles. Those albums sound crisp right now if you listen to them.
00:49:59
Speaker
Like I said, I'm not sure what he used for equipment, Dr. Dre, but if he was just a perfectionist and he needed his music to last forever, I mean, he did his job. Because like I said, you can listen to that out now. And it sounds like it was made today. Just like the sound clarity on it is pretty insane. But yeah, that was it transported me. And I always wanted to just watch the videos and stuff too. You know, watch like Ice Cube videos of Dr. Dre video soup dog.
00:50:27
Speaker
just like watching those videos and stuff like that. It made me want to live in California. Like I said, I want to be out there. Even though they're talking about the most, they're talking about the most violent stuff ever, like gangs and all that stuff. Obviously I didn't really care. Yeah. Cause they're talking about, you know, like sunshine and you know, you know, warm weather and all of a sudden I'm like, oh, it sounds so great out there.
00:50:48
Speaker
But at the same time, it's the early 90s, so it's probably the best living conditions at the places that they're talking about. But another person that did that was like, you know, later on would be Kendrick Lamar. Like he did that for me as well, like, you know, whatever, you know, whatever. I don't want to say love lost ahead for, you know, West Coast hip hop or like wanting to move out there. He brought it back.
00:51:14
Speaker
with that with a good kid, Mad City album. That album is incredible too. Just the story. Yeah, it's a story. I mean, that album's a story. So that's why it draws you in. But just like the song with him and Dr. Dre, when the chorus is like women, weed, and weather, I'm like, oh, that sounds like a, those are three W's right there that you want to enjoy when you're in California. Sounds like a fun time. Yeah.
00:51:41
Speaker
Like I said, I know there's other things that, you know, every state, every city has their faults and stuff like that. But no, like I said, it just transported me. When I listened to West Coast Hip Hop, it would just transport me. And I'd just be like, I want to live out there. I want to like, you know, experience what they're experiencing. Not the gang violence and anything like that, but the weather, the, you know, parties.
00:52:06
Speaker
all that type of stuff. I think it was the same. I could definitely relate with you on that. But that was definitely the same for me. I definitely felt the same way like hearing the lyrics. I'm like, Oh, I would love I always said that I would love to have been a little bit older in the 90s. So I could have really experienced
00:52:24
Speaker
the 90s culture because I was a child. So I didn't, you know, I was a kid, I didn't know really what was going on. But now I'm an as an adult, I'm like, wow, that shit was pretty cool, man. I wish I could have lived that shit. Sorry, I don't know. My apologies.
00:52:41
Speaker
Oh, that's fine. It slips. We do. We try to stay family-friendly, but it's whatever. My apologies. We don't bleep anything anyway, so you hear us, swear you hear us, swear. Sorry. Just live it out here.
00:53:01
Speaker
I'm in Massachusetts, so it's just the weather out here. When it's winter, it's winter, and you definitely want to be in a warmer climate around these times. So I don't know why you would want to be out there. I think for me, it's because I don't experience snow or cold weather really. So I would love to experience that as well.
00:53:25
Speaker
uh you know being bundled up and really cold i don't know i hate being cold but it was just the aesthetic that they presented us with so
00:53:37
Speaker
I mean, it is cool getting, you know, it is pretty cool getting like all, you know, get like your winter clothes, like your jackets and, you know, obviously there's like, you know, you have like the fall fashion, you have winter fashion and all that stuff. So like, you know, there are people that like to accessorize and stuff, you know, with scarves and all those things. So I can see, you know, I can see what the, you know, what the intriguing thing of winter would be. Because I enjoy it. I like bundling up and, you know, wearing the big jacket and the, you know,
00:54:05
Speaker
You know, I hate wearing like, now that I like, you know, work from home a lot of the time. So like, you know, I'm always wearing like, you know, sweatpants or, you know, kind of like active wear. You know, wearing jeans and stuff like that.
00:54:18
Speaker
I'm not looking forward to that, but you have to get out of your house sometime. That's definitely going to be something I'm going to be doing at some point. It hasn't been snowing yet, but it's going to pop up at some point on our end. The other thing I have for you too, because you alluded to this earlier with your plan,
00:54:44
Speaker
for your brand. Obviously, you don't have to tell your actual plans, but what's the future of the Pretty Fig Collector, like the name, the page? Where do you see this expanding and where do you see it going? For now, I'm just going with the flow, but I would like to see
00:55:08
Speaker
pretty big doing more things. This is going to be, I guess, like a spoiler. I'm going to throw it out there because then I'm going to have to hold myself accountable. I'm looking to start my own podcast here in the future. So fingers crossed that is something that we can do. I feel like
00:55:29
Speaker
it's something that I can bring as far as my knowledge for toys, my knowledge for wrestling, but then also bring other stuff that I'm really into as well into that podcast also. So hopefully next year sometime I can launch that and anything else that the universe brings my way
00:55:54
Speaker
You know, I was recently blessed with a discount code for Ringside Collectible. Shout out to Tom, save you 10% with code PFC. So that was something that was just, you know, really awesome. And, you know, I'm super grateful for. So anything else that, like I said, the universe wants to send my way, I'm receiving with open arms.
00:56:22
Speaker
Yeah, definitely. I was actually going to say, because you brought up the podcasting, you could obviously reach out to me. I'm not like an expert at it, but I could definitely try to help you out. And obviously, Sheena Chick Foley, she could definitely help you out. She was in the same boat.
00:56:43
Speaker
years ago when the idea of a podcast came up. She'll probably tell you she was scared to death of actually doing it. Obviously, it's not public speaking, but it kind of is public speaking because your words are out there in the world. So whatever you put out there, it's saying, it's not going anywhere. So she brought that up. I would encourage you to reach out to her as well.
00:57:11
Speaker
And she'll definitely help. If you listen to the first episode of this, we kind of talk about, she was on my first episode and it was kind of like a full circle thing where she brought me in onto her show and
00:57:30
Speaker
know, I kind of want to do the same thing on to my show, even though her name is attached to it. So like, I just wanted to, you know, we talked about like, you know, the beginning of her, her page and what she would, you know, she would, she dedicated a lot of her, you know, her early stuff as a, you know, helping other people out like other people that are trying to get into it. So like, you know, if you're familiar with extra cooler,
00:57:54
Speaker
She helped him get his artwork out there and stuff like that, and get eyes on his stuff. She's helped out a lot of people and stuff like that, so that's one of the main things she wanted to do with her page. Not only put herself out there, but if anyone else needed help. That's what we really like to do with anyone. Our Facebook group, the Chick-Fully Show Facebook group, we help each other out personally,
00:58:24
Speaker
Obviously, they're almost like family, everyone in that group. One of the main things we help Fig collect, because we have people from all over the country, and there are parts of the country where you don't get a lot of figure distribution. We call it distribution problems.
00:58:42
Speaker
So we have eyes and ears across the country that can help you to get a figure. Like you, like your figure hunt videos, I see that there's tons of stuff that I don't have that I'd probably reach out to and be like, hey, if you're in the area, you mind picking that up for me and like shipping it? I'll tell you where they're like. That's what we do, like cost plus shipping. That's what we always say. We don't high ball or low ball. It's whatever it is.
00:59:09
Speaker
Because there are people out there, you know, you've been on eBay, probably, you see the sky skyrocketing prices. Yeah, it's insane, especially like, especially like the, you know, the like the wall of art or target exclusives. Like, I always I always try to preach patience to
00:59:26
Speaker
Like, just be patient. They will show up in your stores. Don't go on eBay and pay like $100 for a figure you can just walk in and pay $20 for. Because I know a lot of people are doing that way at the same, it's like the Sammy Guevara, the Target exclusive, that's all right now.
00:59:45
Speaker
I was kind of skeptical, but now I walk into literally every target in my area. There's seemingly a virus hanging all over the place. Basically, the lesson is don't just have patience when it comes to figure collecting. You'd probably express the same thing. Yeah, at first. At first, when I started collecting, I knew I didn't want to get everything because I obviously can't afford every single figure. I wish I could.
01:00:15
Speaker
But I wanted to be one of the first to have it. And now I'm more so like, you know, I'll get it when I get it. I don't I don't need to have it right away. Maybe I'll find it later discounted price, you know, because I feel like sometimes, you know, action figures, they can get mass produced and
01:00:34
Speaker
The want for the supply and demand when they first drop is when we all want them, but that doesn't mean that we're not going to see them again later somewhere else. Like you said, the same price, or maybe cheaper, a little bit discount, or whatever the case may be. Because I know Target does their Target Circle offers and stuff like that, where you can sometimes save a buck or two.
01:00:58
Speaker
So I've definitely become more patient when it comes to collecting, unless it's something I really need to have and now pre-ordered off ringside. But other than that, I'll just wait for it to see it in store. Yeah. Yeah. That's one of the things we practice is practice patience. Don't feel like you have to be, like you said, the first person to have a figure.
01:01:25
Speaker
be okay with being the last person to get one. That's what I, patience is virtue and definitely when it comes to collecting because you don't want to like, you know, spend too much money and, you know, obviously have, you know, you have bills to pay and things like that. Some people don't, I mean, but a majority of people do that collect. You definitely want everything, especially this year in particular with the amount of
01:01:46
Speaker
Like stuff that was, you know, at the San Diego Comic Con, a lot of stuff that was announced during the summer, it was like literally like every figure that you ever wanted, they announced it. They're all coming out right now. So like it's like,
01:02:02
Speaker
You got to kind of pick and choose what you want to buy. Like you said, you got to just learn to, hey, I'm going to get it eventually. Just be patient and you'll eventually get it. I mean, old mass produce stuff, don't worry. Like you said, you have ringside. Ringside usually has everything in stock for like a while, so don't worry about it. Going out of stock or anything like that. But yeah, that's what I've learned in my travels.
01:02:31
Speaker
as well when it comes to collecting and stuff like that. Don't spend with your wallet. Don't spend with your house because you'll want to buy every single thing. Before we go and ask, well actually I have a couple of questions to ask before we go, but where's your favorite place to fake collect? Walmart or Target? Physical locations.
01:02:56
Speaker
That's a rough one because Walmart and Target, they're different. Walmart has just your Walmart exclusives, but then you get your legends at Target. I think it just depends. My Walmart and Target are side by side, so I just go to them religiously at the same time. I go to one and then I have to go to the other one.
01:03:21
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, they kind of, they, uh, Walmart kind of trapped me because they have, uh,
01:03:30
Speaker
If you listen to Chick Foley, it sounded like almost like a gimmick thing for me, but I'm a Cody Rhodes fan. I love Cody Rhodes. I know a lot of people don't like him, but whatever. I mean, he's awesome. Watch How to Sell. You'll see the amount of passion that guy has for wrestling. You can't deny it. But yeah, he still has AEW figures coming out.
01:03:58
Speaker
uh so he has like well recently anyway i think it's pretty much done i don't think there's any more coming out but he had the you know he was he was in the first series for the supreme line
01:04:09
Speaker
And then Walmart did that, you know, it's Walmart exclusive one. So I'm like, David, I thought I was done. I thought I was done. So I have a, you know, it makes me want to like, because they have different legs and different like, then it makes you it makes you want to go buy like, like four of them, for me anyway, and just have four different Cody Rhodes figures. But that's me. I'm a, I'm a psychic. You know, I think for the money.
01:04:33
Speaker
They're worth it, you know, they are a little pricey. I think they're like 42 with some change, but they come with the interchangeable body and, you know, the make the fig. So I feel like you're getting like, is it two or three interchange? Or is it three, I believe?
01:04:52
Speaker
It's, yeah, you get like, you get two legs, you get like the legs that are on it, and then like another set of legs. But then he has that other figure on ringside as well, so that's another two sets of legs. So you get a four, for me, you get a four Cody Rhodes figures in one, which is insane to have. And then he has, you know, the, he has a basic that's out, I think he has another one coming out from Mattel, and then next year he has the Ultimate Edition.
01:05:19
Speaker
I think that's the fastest, like, person on a roster I've ever seen. The ultimate edition figure, but yeah.
01:05:30
Speaker
It was really fast. Like I said, I have all his Elite figures from when he was in WWE the first go-around. I have pretty much all his AEW figures, minus the $1,000 Chase figures and stuff like that.
01:05:52
Speaker
It was first a UK, it actually still is a UK exclusive. I have that one with the, he has like the silver gear. I have the first figure. I have literally all of them. So I might actually, I think I'm gonna make a shelf like Cody Rhodes.
01:06:08
Speaker
dedication shelf. I have both Walmart, LJN figures as well too for the Walmart exclusive ones. I have those also. I have the Amazon UK exclusive ring, the AW one with the Cody. I have that one also. That one was a cool one.
01:06:27
Speaker
Yeah, and yeah, you have a huge so I have like the most collections I have for with so actually before I let you go Do you have like a collection like that? Do you have a collection of just one?
01:06:39
Speaker
wrestler or have one like thing um no like do you have like a like a like a i don't know like an undertaker i think that the undertaker is the fig the the one that i have the most of um but that wasn't by like i didn't i i'm not just going towards every undertaker figure it's just like
01:07:00
Speaker
the Decade of Domination, the, you know, Undertaker Collector Edition, Undertaker Legends. So I think he's the one that I have most in my collection, but I don't have him like on a pedestal, you know, showcasing all of just him. But that would be really cool. You might just give me an idea. Maybe I should I'll put up a shelf and just homage to Undertaker.
01:07:28
Speaker
I started with Ultimate Warrior because I have pretty much all the Elite Ultimate Warriors except for the ones that are super expensive and rare that you can't find anywhere. I was a fan of the Ultimate Warrior when I was younger.
01:07:44
Speaker
The like his figures are awesome because they're really colorful Obviously with the face paint and the tassels or the different gear that he wore and stuff like that He has so many different looks. So I think it just like aesthetically having a bunch of ultimate warriors to me He's the first one that I had a collection of so like just like it I mean obviously you're not you're not MOC, but if you have a if you are
01:08:08
Speaker
If you're not MOC, the Ultimate Warrior figures, they look awesome together when you pose them together and stuff like that. It's like an army of Ultimate Warriors and it's pretty sick. Like I said, just a different color combination at the end. I know he has a couple more out. That he has a Legends one, he has the, was it a Survivor Series one that's out now? An Ultimate Edition one.
01:08:34
Speaker
that came out too. So yeah, I haven't gotten any of those yet. Those ones I have to like. Yeah, I haven't either. Obviously, it's a holiday season. So yes, Christmas. Yeah, the kids have the kids have to get toys. The kids need toys.
01:08:55
Speaker
Yeah. I have three. I have two girls and a boy. I mean, they're pretty much all into, well, my son's more into wrestling, but the girls are too, because they like whatever their brother likes.
01:09:10
Speaker
They took a liking to the Oscar figures that I've had, so I let them keep a couple of those. Awesome. My little one is not interesting. Yeah, Bianca Belair, they like too. My little one wants no part. Oh, you got to get him in.
01:09:29
Speaker
Yeah, it's weird. You'll think they'll see it. He'll see it sometime. Something will catch his eye. I would show my son wrestling all the time. He would not care about it at all. Just recently. I was watching something with Roman Reigns and that was it. Now he's hooked on
01:09:51
Speaker
Roman Reigns more than anything. He started to like Finn Balor too, the demon Finn Balor. He thinks that's pretty cool, like the paint and all that stuff. Just get the little... Oh yeah, definitely. I'd be curious to see what you look like with a Judgment Day, like the purple with black light paint. That'd be pretty sick actually.
01:10:16
Speaker
That was pretty cool. But yeah, that's all you gotta do. Just find something that he's interested in. It'll hook him. It'll hook him in, guaranteed. Yeah, keep trying. I mean, that's if you want to walk. Yes. Yeah, definitely do that. But he'll get hooked. You're just going to find that right person. He'll start watching. But yeah, this is awesome. That's all. Actually, you know what? I always ask this one question.
01:10:46
Speaker
before everyone goes so this is a scenario right it's a uh you have a you have a you have like a kind of a casual wrestling fan right i mean they they kind of know what it is i mean they've watched it when they were you know maybe a little bit younger you'll quickly got away from it really didn't hang on to it um and you know you kind of want them to watch it with you
01:11:08
Speaker
Um, so the question is what match or you could pick matches. Cause I know a lot of people like to bounce around in different ones. What match in particular, would you show that person to get them hooked back into wrestling? It could be an old match. It could be a new match. It'd be any match you want, but just one match that, you know, guarantee that it's going to bring this casual person back to wrestling. I think I'm going to say Helen cell undertaker in my mind.
01:11:39
Speaker
I think that would be the match that I would be like, no, you need to watch it for this reason. I mean, I can't think of a current match, but if I'm thinking like, no, this is why you loved it at some point, that's the match that I would put on because that match in my mind just lives on forever. And I think it's one of the most greatest matches I've ever seen.
01:12:05
Speaker
That's actually a good choice, first and foremost. And that's also a good point because there's a lot of, if you go on YouTube, there's people that, you know, they'll be non-wrestling fans and they do like reaction videos. Like this is reaction video for everything on YouTube, but there are people that do reaction videos to that match in particular, to that, you know, mankind versus undertaker match.
01:12:31
Speaker
And it's like, you know, they're not wrestling fans, so they're not, you know, they're expecting, you know, you know, body slams and they're not expecting chair shots. They're not expecting someone getting possibly murdered. You're dead scenarios. Yeah. I encourage everyone out there just to search, you know, react, react to Hell in a Cell.
01:12:59
Speaker
Yeah, 1998. There's reaction videos out there and you just get to see like, there's one in particular that I'll never forget. This lady's like watching it and she's like, it's a part where you've undertaken to toss them off the top of the cage and she goes,
01:13:13
Speaker
She's like, Oh my God. She's like, that's a, she's like, what the hell? She's like, that's not, she's like, that's not supposed to happen. Cause you know, obviously you're not watching, you're not a wrestling fan. So, you know, like, you know, obviously if you know Mick Foley, you know, you know, and you've listened to all the scene, all his interviews, he knows he's, he, every match he tries to go bigger.
01:13:33
Speaker
and more dangerous than the time before it's like in my mind i'm like oh yeah but and if you're a casual fan you're like oh this stuff's fake you know they don't really get hurt but if you watch that match no you you definitely know someone got hurt definitely yeah that's a great choice i always
01:13:50
Speaker
No, I was just going to say I only picked that two because again, people assume it's choreographed. It's fake. It's not real. They're not really hurting each other. And then you throw on that match and you're like, oh, crap, is he alive? Somebody better check on him because that was a huge drop, you know, and those, excuse my French, those ocean moments will live on forever. And that I feel like
01:14:15
Speaker
That's one of those matches that really brings back that realness that really can draw people in and intrigue them to want to see more of that kind. Oh, yeah.
01:14:32
Speaker
Yeah, definitely. I always go with my go-to match for anyone. Mine's more wrestling-based. It's Ray Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero at Halloween Havoc.
01:14:47
Speaker
Only because it literally has everything. It has wrestling. It has brawling. It tells a great story as well. And I think just the stuff that they do was way ahead of its time. If you go back and watch that Hell in a Cell, that Hell in a Havoc match with Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero, you literally see the stuff they were doing back then, you see that stuff now, like in today's wrestling. That's how far ahead of the time they were.
01:15:17
Speaker
It was pretty much a precursor to what you're going to see. Just much like Macho Man and Ricky Seaboat at WrestleMania 3. That was kind of like the benchmark for what wrestling was going to be in the next
01:15:33
Speaker
for 10 years. And then you have that WCW match with Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio. That set the president for what you're going to see in the next 10 years. So there's always that one match that you see that's going to do that. And Hell in a Cell was one of those. I mean, that changed. That literally changed everything. Right there. You didn't know what was real and what was going on.
01:15:59
Speaker
yeah it's like oh my god as a fan you're like why is he going back yeah definitely yeah why is he climbing the cage what is he doing why did he fall through the cage the chair lands on his head was this part was it supposed to be part of it
01:16:20
Speaker
Yeah, I know exactly. You know, he has the tooth in his nose and then he's trying to like, he's trying to stick, I guess he had a hole in his lip. He's trying to stick his tongue through it. If you ever watch that, he actually mentions that. I don't think he actually successfully did it. But if you watch any of the interviews, he does say, yeah, he was like, I was in for an effect. He's like, I didn't know by tooth or something. Like, it looks like a booger, but it's actually his tooth. He's like, but he's, he knew the camera's there. So he's trying to,
01:16:49
Speaker
Yeah, he knew the camera was in front of him. So he's trying to stick his tongue through the hole in his lip. But it wouldn't go through. But needless to say, it was a shot anyway. It's forever etched in my mind, that image. But yeah, that was a great picture. Thank you. Yeah, this was awesome. I agree. Thank you for joining me. Thank you for having me. This was great.
01:17:19
Speaker
Yeah, definitely like to have you back on again, because I want to get into more of the... I want to hear more of the rave scene. Yeah, he's so stupid. Because I kind of want to get into that, but I feel like we could have an old episode on that. So yeah, definitely want to have you back on again. And if anything, we can collaborate on anything else in the future, that's fine as well. Yes, I would love that. Only time will tell. Yeah, thank you again for... Yeah, thank you for being on the show,
01:17:48
Speaker
You know, we'll definitely talk. We'll definitely talk online. We'll end the show here, folks. Thank you again. Thank you again. And make sure you follow Pretty Fig across all platforms at The Pretty Fig Collector. Don't forget, code PFC saves you 10% for ringside collectibles. And yeah, this was amazing. I had such a blast. And I can't wait to do this again.
01:18:17
Speaker
Yeah, definitely. And just because of the obligation, you can also use Code Chick Foley to save 10% on drinks and collectibles. Yes, sorry. Save whatever, you know, save whatever.
01:18:32
Speaker
save whatever 10%. We share codes all the time. Because of the group that we have, pretty much everyone has a code now, so it's no big deal. But yeah, use all our codes. It definitely helps out. It gives its life force, we like to say, as well as
01:18:53
Speaker
It helps everyone, too. It lets people know that they're actually buying stuff, which is good. But again, thank you, and we'll end it here. Yes, thank you. Have a wonderful night. Later. Bye-bye. Bye, everyone.
