Season Two Kickoff and Focus

00:00:01
Sharla Mandere
Hello and welcome to season two of Mom Tabulous. I'm your host, Charla Mander. I'm so excited for this season. um this This season, i a a lot of podcasts don't make it to season two. So if you have listened, if you have downloaded any episodes, thank you, thank you, thank you. I'm so excited to bring you season two. And what I wanted was to change it up just a little bit and focus on our health.
00:00:27
Sharla Mandere
um First, I'm just going to say, because I'm looking at myself on video, if you're watching this on YouTube and you're seeing the video, my tank, you can see a part of it. So it says, oh, my quad, Becky, look at her squat. And if you get that reference, you may be in perimenobause.
00:00:47

So I wanted to focus for season two because I am, I just got this, this menopause coaching specialist certification and I'm in Perry menopause myself and I have been in this, what I call the WTF of menopause. And, and I know with my background and what I do, it's been like, whoa.
00:01:06
Sharla Mandere
And if you're someone that doesn't have a background in health and fitness for the last almost 20 years, it probably isn't even extra. Whoa, oh my God, what is happening, right?

Expert Insights on Health and Fitness

00:01:15
Sharla Mandere
So I wanted to bring in all of the ways that we can be mom tabulous and bring in experts that are related to health and fitness. Now, some of this is going to be um you know what what you think about meal planning and fitness and all of that, which there will be those episodes for sure.
00:01:33
Sharla Mandere
But I also have um you know experts who who talk about so many different things. We talk about neurodivergence in parenting. We're going to talk about, and and that's and that's coming from the place of like a neurodivergent mom. um we We're going to talk about, I've got i've got experts on, oh my gosh, I need to go back. I've got experts.
00:01:56
Sharla Mandere
this next episode, really episode one, but episode two, because it's January. I thought, what a great way to start dry January than someone who's going to be talking about sobriety for gray area drinkers. And what is a gray area drinker versus someone who's sober curious, if you're doing dry January or just wanting to cut back, if you're in perimenopause and you want to know, I can't drink like I used to and why, and and maybe you want to change things up.

Diverse Topics: Financial Health to Emotional Healing

00:02:24
Sharla Mandere
this is gonna be a great a great um you know episode for you to listen to i've got um women entrepreneurs who want to make more money because our financial health i've got another financial health expert on i have i have talking about teen girls and their relationship with food because if you're like me and you're maybe you're in perimenopause and then you have, I have a 12 and 15 year old daughters at this point and were we talk a lot about our relationship with food and what makes us strong and what makes us healthy and what makes us feel good and what gives us energy.
00:03:02
Sharla Mandere
And so we're talking about emotional healing. um i have I have a kitchen confidence coach. I'm scrolling through my notes here. Okay, I recorded an episode with a family physician who who was like nine months pregnant at the time. She literally was like, i'm we we weren't even sure if we were gonna be able to record because she may have gone into labor, but we were able to record. She had her baby like four days later. It was baby number five and she's that she's a fitness and and and family fitness. We're going to talk about that. um You know, early childhood education, how play has changed from that. If you're in perimenopause like me and you know the reference to the tank top that I'm wearing, you know, our play in the 80s was very different than how our children play now. And so I've got an expert who's going to talk about that. We're talking, I talked to a system strategist who's going to talk about ADHD and parenting and how to
00:04:01

kind of get your own systems aligned.

Spirituality and Empathic Parenting

00:04:04
Sharla Mandere
I've got a spiritual health expert on. um I mean, so many, so many. I've talked to experts from all around the world. I have an expert who is just talking about raising boys. And that was a super interesting conversation. She's actually in Japan, but it was a super interesting conversation because I only have ever raised girls. I have two girls, I have two daughters. And so having a conversation of,
00:04:25
Sharla Mandere
Raising boys was a super interesting conversation. And that that one that one's coming up. I've got, oh, a mom who is traveling the world full time and homeschooling her kids. Traveling the world with three kids. If that's your dream, I've talked to her, you can do that. There are so many experts this season. I'm so excited to bring it to you. But the main the main thing that I wanted to like just say is, you know, our Health as moms is of the utmost important, how we manage our stress, how we how we manage our day, how we manage our self and our reactions. I've learned that. I'm an empath. Parenting as an empath, and I talk about that with the spiritual health expert, but parenting as an empath is
00:05:10
Sharla Mandere
Oh, it's a whole, it's a whole different ball game. I'm so envious of my friends who are like, well, whatever kid, that's the breaks. I don't have that in me. So learning how to set those boundaries and be a little more like, well kid, you gotta, you gotta to suffer your own consequences here without being emotionally attached and feeling their stress and their emotions, their disappointment myself has been like just a big game changer for me.

Support for Moms: Grief and Broader Relevance

00:05:37
Sharla Mandere
There is no,
00:05:39
Sharla Mandere
guidebook for how to parent. ah There are parenting books, of course, I know that. There are parenting podcasts. Yes, right? This kind of is one, but this one's more geared for moms. But what I wanted was to bring some how-to. I wanted to bring some like, if because we're all so different and all of our experiences are different and all of our children are different and our how we were raised is different. And so I just wanted to kind of bring a whole kitten caboodle of here Here's some help. Here's some support. Here's some people to follow and look for. These are resources for how to help us. um I've got social media, like how how to do social media with kids, neurodivergence, grief, got a grief expert on. A mom who who is a friend of mine, and she actually lost one of her children um when she when her daughter was an adult.
00:06:39
Sharla Mandere
and unexpectedly lost her daughter and, and we, we talk about grief. And so there is a lot, uh, coming at you. Please stay tuned for season two, um, episode, well, this is technically episode one. So episode two, which I'm releasing right after this.
00:06:58
Sharla Mandere
Like I said, it is the dry January episode. It is sobriety for gray, or well, yeah, sobriety for gray drinkers. If you're curious, that episode is next. Please take a listen. And I cannot wait to bring you season two. It's going to be a game changer. And even if you're not a mom, I know this is mom tabulous, but I know I have some friends who are not moms that listen. And thank you so much for listening.
00:07:24
Sharla Mandere
for knowing how to support your your friends who are moms, but also all of this will apply to you too. you know The financial health, the spiritual health, the the the setting systems and strategies, if you have ADHD, all of this will apply to you too. So thank you so much for your support. Thank you for listening and let's bring on season two. See you in the next episode.
