Creating Positive Flow

This episode is a little bit of a magical mess! My intention was to create your go-to episode for when you’re needing a bit of a positive pick me up! I chat about creating positive flow, balance and fulfilment - and chat about how as humans, we are quick to allow a downward spiral, but what about allowing a positive spiral? It’s just as easy, if not easier! And I think we all know what we would rather.

We discuss manifestation and how the law of attraction can work to our advantage, or disadvantage, depending on what energy we are putting out. Something I have found blocks my manifestations from materialising, is when I’m working toward something that I don’t actually want. It sounds strange, but so many of us do it! Often we can be trying to manifest a goal that we set years ago, but maybe now it doesn’t align anymore … or we can be trying to manifest something because society says we should have it by this time, or other people deem it as cool, fun or successful. Checking in with yourself and what you want is one of the first steps to create positive flow!

it. Okay, so this episode is all about creating a positive flow and there is no better feeling when we are in that flow of positivity, when we're in alignment, when things are just unfolding in front of us. And the good news is, is that this is available to you right now.

And the even cooler thing is, is that it can be available very, very quickly. Even if you're having a bad day, a bad week, a bad month, nothing is stopping you from changing that reality for yourself right now. And I think we do that by creating a positive flow and getting comfortable in that flow. To get comfortable in a positive flow, we have to allow it. So often we are resistant to good things for many reasons.

We can be scared of success. We can be uncomfortable with the change that is upon us. We can be worried about what other people might think or perceive of us if things are going really well. We also have limiting beliefs that will come up. This is too good to be true. I don't deserve this. I'm not worthy. It's all gonna break down. It's all going to stop. You know, it can't keep going. And I think as humans, what we are really guilty of is glorifying the downward spiral. I think it protects us. we We think it protects us. It absolutely doesn't protect us, but we think it kind of protects us from, I guess, expecting the best and from not getting disappointed. But I think we also talk about the downward spiral as a way to connect with others and as a way to, um I guess, relate

Avoiding Downward Spirals and Fostering Positive Momentum

But that p place isn't all the time. It's not an all the time thing. What I'm hearing a lot of lately, and some of this is from me, I am absolutely guilty of this as well, is when it rains, it pours. It's just one thing after another at the moment. Crappy things just keep happening. I keep getting sick. I can't get on top of things. I don't have enough time. This downward spiral that we keep giving energy to,

Of course it's going to continue. Of course it's going to get worse when we keep on talking about it. Of course it is. So I'm hearing that a lot. What I don't hear a lot is.

a positive spiral. So people saying things like, oh my gosh I'm gaining so much positive momentum right now. Everything seems to just be flowing so easily. I'm so excited because good things just keep popping up and it's feeling really exciting and really good. I feel like we don't hear that stuff as much. Do you guys agree? So let's watch our vocabulary and And I did talk about this in my last episode a little bit too, where I think we all are kind of guilty of talking about the negative as a way to connect or as a way to make others feel comfortable or as a way to protect ourselves. But the time to stop it is now. Spring has sprung in Australia. It's September, wherever you are in the world, it's September. The end of the year is near. We have four months left. Let's put a positive spin on everything.

It feels natural to talk about what isn't working because I guess it's a little bit of a cry for help. You might want help from others. You might want advice. You might think talking about it brings that kind of relief and release, I guess, but you can do that through meditation and journaling instead of in your everyday conversations, because not only is it going to make you feel crappy, that energy is going to spill over to the people that you're having conversations with.

And whether or not they, you know, it's like a misery loves company situation, they're going to be brought down from that conversation as well. And they're not going to walk away feeling better than they did before. However, if you put a positive spin on things, if you talk about what is working rather than what's not, I can guarantee you're both going to feel better, more positive and more optimistic.

Genuine vs. Toxic Positivity: Embracing Positive Changes

Now, you know, if you are a pass around the smile listener, that I am not about toxic positivity. I am all about, you know, releasing the anger, feeling the fears, all of the negative stuff I talk about all the time and I acknowledge. But this episode in particular, this is an episode on positivity. So if you are not feeling at all like you can be positive right now, if you're going through some really big things in your life, maybe save this episode for another time.

But for those of you who do just need a bit of a kick up the bum and a bit of a wake up call at the moment, this episode is for you. And if you are just wanting to feel a bit more optimistic, more inspired and more positive, this episode is for you. So I just wanted to preface that because I am just going to be talking about like positive stuff this episode because I want it to feel good. So two things that I really don't like feeling, and I bet you guys don't like feeling it either, is pressure and disappointment.

And I think those two things come up a lot when we set goals or we make vision boards and we set, you know, these exciting, you know, future visions for ourselves. And we realize that they don't happen or that they're constantly being blocked. And I have found a really nice way to release that pressure and to release that disappointment is looking at goals and ideas that previous me once had And instead of looking at the ones that haven't evolved yet as I failed or feeling that disappointment, feeling that pressure to make them happen is if they don't align with the version of me that I am now, which is likely if they haven't manifested, you really need to look at what you do want or what you have wanted and if it hasn't manifested.

Do they align with you right now? Is it something that you still want or are you just telling yourself that you still want it or you still need it because you put it on your vision board or because the younger version of you wanted it or because you've worked so hard toward it. So it'd be shame to give it up now, even if you, you know, you don't really want it.

Of course, you want to make sure that you're not just giving up. You know, that's kind of different. You know, sometimes we do have to push forward if if there's this fire burning inside of you and it's something that you really do want and it is completely aligned with you, then check in. Where can you take inspired action to make this incredible dream of yours a reality?

But for me, I looked at my vision board from a year and and a half ago, yeah, a year and a half ago, and there were so many things on there that I haven't manifested. My initial reaction was disappointment, was I failed.

was that feeling then that followed of, okay, I gotta get my act together. How am I gonna make these dreams my reality? But then I realized that those dreams did not sit well with me anymore. And that is completely fine. And it felt so refreshing to just be like, oh, I'm gonna let that go. I'll take that off my vision board. That's really cool. that It was something that I wanted once upon a time, but I'm so glad I've changed in this way and in that way. and I want all these other things now instead of that. So I feel like that is kind of refreshing and exciting and I want you guys to really release any pressure and disappointment that you are feeling at the moment.

Relaxation and Trust in the Manifestation Process

And again, like I said, if it's a goal and a dream that you still want that's just not working, well then remind yourself that the law of attraction is a law that anyone can use. Your higher powers know the way. So it's time to relax a little bit instead of forcing.

Remember, when we get into that forceful energy, when we are trying to force something to happen, whether it is you're trying to force someone to like you in a relationship or in a work partnership, you want to prove yourself to them. Maybe you're trying to force, you know, um yourself to work really hard so you can make money. Maybe you're trying to get this opportunity at work for yourself and you are just like grinding and grinding and grinding and you're burning yourself out.

They are big signs that you are manic manifesting, as Gabby Bernstein likes to call it. You are essentially trying too hard and it never feels good. And I think what is exciting about this is that you actually can stop trying so hard. Is that not really relieving and exciting and refreshing to hear? It is time to relax and enjoy. We're not forcing things. We're not feeling yucky. Sure. We might be doing things that are still challenging and hard. Like for example, last night I booked myself a 5.30 AM Pilates class. I go to KX in Miami. Oh my God. It is. It's the best. I just love that studio. Best vibes. Um, I last night was like, Oh my God, no, I want to sleep in, but I knew that it would make me feel so much better and I knew it would help me start a really positive day.

Uh, and so I did it and I went and it was amazing and I feel so great for it now. So things like that, you do want to push yourself to be better, to help yourself, to help the future version of you, I guess, you know, do better and be better. However, however, if it is really forced and feeling yucky in your tummy, if it's bringing anxiety, if you're getting pressure headaches,

This is a sign that you are trying too hard, that you're forcing something that maybe is not meant to be right now. And I know that that can make you feel sad maybe because you might want something really bad. And here I am saying that it might not, it's just not meant to be right now. But if you've listened to a lot of my previous episodes for so long, I was forcing something that was not right for me. And down the track, I realized that it absolutely wasn't right for me.

but so much else was right for me. So I think opening our mind up to positive flow is so exciting and relieving and refreshing because there is an infinite amount of opportunities out there for us. And often we can't see them. We can't feel them. We don't know what they are. But if we have trust that the universe, whoever you believe in, your higher powers, just an energy has your back. We allow things to flow. We allow things to come. And when we are in that present energy, when we're coming back to our truth, when we're sitting in stillness, and I'm not meaning like sitting in stillness in meditation. I just mean like we're going through our day, noticing things. We're looking around, we're having purposeful conversations. We're breathing. We're thinking about what we say before we say it. We're not judging others. We're not judging ourselves. We are enjoying instead of forcing.

One of my favorite cards to pull out of my guided affirmation deck is the Relax and Enjoy card and it says something like, I am able to relax and enjoy where I am and the process of getting to where I want to be. Does that not just feel so right and so nice? And it's true, isn't

Connecting with Your Inner Child

it? And of course, we're going to have days, we're going to have weeks, we're going to have months where that feels really hard to do, to relax and enjoy, depending on what's going on in our lives. But as I've talked about in previous episodes, even through hardships,

I look back at some of the hardest times in my life and I miss elements of those times. So depending on what you are going through, if parts of your life right now feel stagnant, feel yucky, feel hard, feel sad, feel heartbreaking, elements of this time you will miss. You might miss the support that you're getting from others. You might miss the time that you took off work to come home to yourself and to meditate. You might miss the extra time that you're spending with family.

whatever it is, you might miss the rest. There are elements that we can pick and choose and take with us to start creating that positive flow as we move forward again. We've got to remember that attracting is easy, that you can do less and attract more. I have an episode on that as well. Just scroll back to the do less attract more episode. It's really exciting because this reminds us that we do not have to hustle and grind and work so damn hard to live our dream lives. Abundance is available to us all. And often when we do less, we do attract more. And I find that so exciting and I have i have lived it. I have 100% pulled back at times when I found myself just trying too hard with forcing manifestations. It wasn't working. They were blocked because I was forcing it. And when I let go and I trusted that maybe something better

What about the positive spiral? What about the positive momentum? What about the positive train that we can jump on that just keeps rolling forward and feeling good?

We can jump on it. It is available to us right now and it does not have to be hard. I love that quote, whether you think you can or think you can't, you are right. If you think it's going to be hard, it's going to be hard. If you think it's going to be easy, it is going to be easy. Do you know what you want?

First of all, get clear on what it is that you want. I talked about this lately. We did a vision board assignment on my social media. If you missed it, you can go back, check out the reel. You'll see it says vision board. I'm in a red dress. Do the vision board assignment. It's really exciting and it makes you feel really, really good and really excited for what's to come. But what I want you to do before you do that, and even if you've done it, what I'm going to say is still going to help you, is you need to actually understand what it is that you want and make sure that what it is that you want isn't just because your parents said that you should do this or your friends do this thing and it seems to make them happy. So you think, I'll put that on my vision board or I'll, I'll try and manifest that. Try your very best when you are deciphering and trying to understand what it is that you actually want, not to want things because other people think that they are cool.

or it's deemed as successful. what do What is it that you want to your core? Do my inner child meditation that I just released on the podcast. It is so powerful. It might make you a little bit emotional, but connecting with your inner child really helps you understand what it is that you want.

In the past, when I have been blocked with some of my manifestations, I've actually realized it's because I didn't even know what I wanted in the first place. So what I was asking of the universe, it was confusing. It was conflicting energy. If you want things that conflict each other,

The energies aren't going to match up. So I did a little bit of an audit of my brain, I guess you could say, of my mind. I did a big meditation. I did a listen my own listen to your heart meditation. And then I actually did my inner child meditation as well. I connected in with my inner child because the inner child in us knows exactly what we want and what we need to be happy. But as we grow up, of course, so much blocks that. We learn the things that we didn't want to learn. We are told things. We're told stories that become our truth. We develop limiting beliefs and fears. And all of a sudden that wonder and imagination we once had as a child where we believed anything was possible is tainted. It's clouded by anxiety. It's clouded by fear, by limiting beliefs. The good news is, is that those fears, those limiting beliefs, we can absolutely identify what they are and release them. Moving forward clearly with clarity,

with excitement, with optimism, that's available to all of us. You might feel so blocked from that inner child or that higher self version of you. It can be really hard to connect with it. I really struggled to connect with it during meditation, but when you do, it's like, wow, a huge a heart moment, big realizations.

A lot of clarity can come from connecting with your inner child and understanding what it actually is that you genuinely want. When you do a little audit on your mind and figure this out, your manifestations will 100% flow better than they ever have before. For so long, I was asking for things that I thought I wanted, but I was asking for them for all the wrong reasons. So understand what it is that you want and then check in with yourself. Do they align with who you are with where you are at the moment with your values with your beliefs. Does it feel good in your stomach? Remember, there's the good type of pressure and there's the bad type of pressure. We wanna feel good pressure that's like, I have this goal and it's so exciting and I feel nervous and like all this anticipation for making it work because I care so much about it. And I know that I'm gonna be so fulfilled and so excited when it eventuates. But then the bad type of pressure is that pressure where you are

Rushing where you are feeling forced when you are feeling a little bit sick in your tummy Maybe it is manifesting in physical ways like headaches or or that that tummy feeling that I was just talking about So really checking in with yourself then when you figure out what it is that you want. Guess what?

you can have it. And it has already materialized. It's already here because everything is just energy. It's just a matter of bringing it into your reality now. And you can do that because we all have access to the law of attraction. We all have the power to manifest. We are all just as powerful as each other. You can do things to help yourself. You can listen to podcasts like this. You can do the exercise class, even though it's hard to get there, you can build those endorphins, get yourself feeling good.

You can go to circles, meditation classes, you can do your own journaling, do your own card reading, connect with yourself spiritually, help yourself. We get to help ourselves. You know, ourselves. Is there a better feeling? Like it is just so good when you do something and you feel so proud of yourself and that good energy. And we know that scientists have the machines that can photograph energy leaving our body. So we know it's real. The law of attraction isn't woo woo. It isn't ah ask, believe, receive. It's magic. It doesn't work. It does work. Cause it's a law. We just have to understand how to best use it. Energy attracts energy. That's all there is to it. It's not hard. It's easy.

If you believe it's easy, it's easy. If you believe it's fun, it's fun. Where are you at your life in the moment? What is good? What is working? Look at what you do have rather than what you don't have. Don't get caught in that downward spiral. Get caught in the upward spiral. It feels good. It feels good to feel good. It feels good to love. It feels good to see through empathy. It feels good to forgive and let go. It feels good to figure out what we want and get excited because we know that we have all the power in the world to make that happen.

You can live your dream life. I feel like a bit of Tony Robbins right now. I don't want this to sound like brainwashy right now. I'm just getting really genuinely excited. I have used the law of attraction throughout my whole, and not my whole life, my whole adult life to manifest the coolest things into my life. And I can't make up that I manifested it because some of them I manifested down to the smallest detail. So when Indigo was six weeks, I really got caught in a downward spiral.

Luke ah broke a lot of bones in his cheekbone and near his eye socket and had to have surgery. His whole face, the poor thing, it was like indented in. He kind of looked like Buzz Lightyear a little bit. um But it was a really hard time. We had a six week old baby. He had to take all this time off work just after he'd taken a lot of time off for the baby. And he had to have surgery and it was just, it was a lot. I then found that my inner reality was creating my outer reality. I was jumping onto every negative that I could because we were going through a negative time and because it was really hard. But what that was doing was manifesting, was using the law of attraction in the way that I didn't want to use the law of attraction.

And of course we go through hard things where we can't just be positive. Again, I know I talk about this in other episodes, but what I did was what I needed to do. Sorry. I needed to give myself a few days to feel sorry for myself, to feel sorry for Luke, to think that this was unfair, et cetera.

and then I needed to put a time limit on it and let it go. Because I wasn't helping myself, I wasn't helping Luke's recovery, and I wasn't helping Indy with this low energy of wow, wow, wow. What I found was everything that I was dreading would come through, but I was creating this dread. I was creating these stories in my mind and because I was feeling so negative and worried, I would manifest them into my life. Now, I don't want you to freak out because a positive thought is three times more powerful than a negative thought,

But we can manifest negativity into our lives if we keep on thinking about it. And if our energy is that of negativity, it will become easy to attract another negative after another negative. It is easier, however, to attract positive thing after positive thing. Does that not feel so exciting? We know that a positive thought is three times more powerful than a negative thought. So just as we think it's so easy to get into that downward spiral, it's so easy for negative things just to keep happening.

Well, it's actually easier for positive things to keep happening. Science says so. So what is your inner reality saying and feeling right now? Is your inner reality saying that things are hard, that things aren't working out, that that dream job is going to take years and years and years to manifest, that that's that amount of, I don't know, views or likes is not possible because you don't have the following.

Overcoming Limiting Beliefs and Manifesting Outcomes

that that kind of relationship is not possible because all the men are taken. What is your inner reality saying right now? And how is your inner reality feeling? Is the reality for you inside your body, your soul, your mind right now?

feeling just a bit low, just a bit, a bit confused, bit foggy. You know, do you go for those quick fixes like opening TikTok to get a laugh or going on someone's Instagram and, you know, thinking it'll help you, but then you end up comparing yourself and feeling like crap. Are you sleeping in? Are you eating badly? What's your inner reality saying and doing right now? And is it helping your manifestations materialize?

Three words that feel really good for me at the moment is balance, flow, and fulfillment. When I was trying to get clear on what it was that I wanted, things weren't necessarily coming up for me, like actual tangible things. I was like, I don't know what I exactly want, but I do know that I want to feel these three things.

balance, flow and fulfillment. And by putting these words on my vision board, it's helped me manifest those feelings. And what I think I'm doing in the process of manifesting those feelings for myself is surrendering and letting the universe bring to me the tangible things.

that equal me feeling balanced, a life of flow and fulfillment. And that feels really good and really exciting because I am open, I'm surrendering, but I'm still manifesting really cool things, but I'm almost playing a game with the universe like, show me how good it gets universe. I'm so excited to see what you come up with. I'm so excited to see what you bring me.

because I know it's going to make me feel balanced in flow and fulfilled. And they are three things that I so badly want to feel all the time right now. I have had to take actionable steps to get there though. I'm not just sitting on the couch and using visualization to bring these things to me. Visualization is so powerful where you visualize a balanced life, a life in flow, where you visualize yourself feeling the fulfillment. I've been doing that.

But I need to take actionable steps to get there. So what I've been doing is I've been mapping out my weeks a little bit. Now I do have a five month old, so there's only so much mapping out I can do. But little steps for me are helping create my balanced life. My balanced life is then feeling a little more flowy. My flowy life is then leaning to fulfillment. See how it kind of all flows? And then when I feel fulfilled, I feel so incredibly good. I'm aligned. I'm attracting signs and coincidences. Things are falling into place.

and I am manifesting without even trying. They are, that's the goal. We want to manifest without even trying because that's when we manifest things that are so aligned to us. And oh my God, it's just so exciting. It's so exciting because you don't know what's around the corner for you. Something could manifest literally in an hour for you. You don't know. And you might be thinking, oh, Cleo, probably not. That seems impossible because what I want can't be manifested in an hour because of X, Y, and Z. Well,

that is all a limiting belief of yours. And that is a fear. And of course you are going to block it from manifesting quickly if they if that is your truth, if that's what you're telling yourself. So back to kind of my ah my balanced life that I'm putting into play. I, for example, made small steps. So on Monday morning at 5.30, I will do my Pilates class. Then Monday eight till 12 and Wednesday eight till 12, I will work, pass around the smile while my mom and dad look after Indigo.

That for me was enough for the first few weeks because that was really big. But my gosh did those little things which were actually really big for me create so much positive energy. inside my body and a big will to do more and to be more. So what can you change? What can you put into place? I'm not saying that you have to use the word balance, flow and fu fulfillment. They're right for me. They might not be right for you, but figure out your words, figure out what it is that you want, and then figure out what you can do to get closer to that version of you. You get to create the change and the change will come.

A big thing that I have found really blocks me and it has for years and years and I think for me a lot of it has come from the acting industry, people pleasing tendencies, wanting validation because in the acting industry you have to literally be accepted and be the best to get the role. is happening so I can pass this lesson on to you guys. It has really been blocking me lately from living a life that is true to me, from manifesting my desires. I feel so proud sometimes of something I've done, ah something that may be really little to someone else who doesn't have a baby or doesn't have, you know, a small business, maybe they have a big business, but these Wins are huge for me, right? I'll feel really good about something and then I'll go onto social media and those feelings will be ripped from me because I'm comparing myself to others or I'm worried about what others think or how they're perceiving me. And what we have to remind ourselves of is that no one else cares. No one else is judging you in the way that you think they are. Everyone is too busy judging themselves. Everyone is too busy living their own lives. Everyone is too wrapped up in themselves to care about what you are doing.

Big things to you are little to other people, which can be a little bit like defeating sometimes, depends in which way you are thinking about this. But in a lot of ways, it can be really refreshing. No one else is watching you like a hawk. No one else is waiting for you to fail. No one else is judging you like you think they are. Or if they are, then that is 100% their problem and you don't want them in your life to start with.

Look how far you have come, not just in the ways that we would normally look at, like say career wise,

Everything negative is temporary, which is really relieving because we know it's not going to last. Unfortunately, they pass as well. But what that can do for us in the moment is help us be really present for the now, really grateful for the now, because this will also pass. It is normal to feel off from time to time. Don't be too hard on yourself. If we didn't know what it felt like to feel off, we would not know what it felt like to feel on, to feel good, to feel positive. So when you're feeling off, don't try and resist it. Sometimes we just need to let it happen.

let it pass by. We know from the last one that he's going to pass by. It is normal to feel crappy every now and then. You are human. It is okay. It will pass. The next one I really love. No time is wasted time. You are learning and growing by just being. We go through huge phases in our lives. I know I have gone through phases where I just wanna read every book. I wanna read everything on manifestation, on self-development, on spiritual development. I wanna meditate every day. I wanna do this. I wanna do that. I'm feeling productive every day. And then I will have months where I will feel like I'm not moving forward. I'm not doing anything at all.

And I can help myself in those weeks, months, years, even sometimes for some of us. I can help myself by just trusting that it will pass and that by just being and observing and being a mum and being a friend and being a daughter, whatever you are, by just being, you are growing, you are evolving, you are changing, you are allowing things to come in.

You are allowing your creativity to build again. You are allowing the universe to have a say in your life. And at the end of the day, you can just enjoy your life. You don't have to be constantly moving forward. No time is wasted time, but you won't help yourself. If you are going through a phase of where you're just being, you're not moving forward, but you are forcing it. You are like, Oh my gosh, nothing is working. I need to be moving forward. I need to be doing this. I need to be doing that. You're not going to help yourself if you're going to force it.

because forced energy, as we know, doesn't work well with the law of attraction. So let yourself just be. The last one, it's healthy to let it all out. Don't feel as though you have to suppress and hold in your feelings. Just because we talked about how negativity can manifest with the law of attraction doesn't go doesn't mean that it is going to manifest like that, like really quickly.

We are absolutely allowed and we should let out our anger, our frustration, our feelings to family, to friends, to psychologists in your journal, whatever it is, let it out. It feels so good to have an emotional release of letting go. When we hold in our feelings, it manifests in sickness, it manifests in stress and studies have shown how stress can Gosh, affect us in so many ways. Like there are really cool studies. I just type it into Google. I don't know off the top of my head, but stress has huge effects on our nervous system. And when our nervous system has got pressure on it is off.
