00:00:40
Speaker
It's our boy, no Score Nick. Hey, Tony. Thanks for having me back on the show. Welcome back, man. Welcome back. it's it It's like coming home, I say, to this show. It's it's always good to be here. Always glad to to make a guest appearance.
00:00:59
Speaker
I'm excited to talk video games with you today. Dude, I am i am excited as well. We got a lot to talk about. We got so, so many things to talk about. ah And the first is our headline of the week.
00:01:13
Speaker
We're getting right to it. ah It's the Final Fantasy Magic the Gathering collaboration. It hasn't come out yet. It comes out in June, but they have finally shown us damn near all the cards that are going to be releasing.
00:01:28
Speaker
They had a debut showcase for the cards during PAX East um with Benstar hosting... in quotation marks, the event. He was there. ah He had legit a shirt with his Clive Rossfield card on the back of it.
00:01:44
Speaker
ah yeah We got to see so many things. We got to see Kefka. We got to see Clive. We got to see all 15 SIDS
00:01:53
Speaker
chocobos and uh we also learned that there is gonna be one card limited to 77 copies only and that is the elusive golden chocobo only 77 of those will be printed so that is the big rare card to pull that will be worth a lot of money if you do happen to get one um They've also shown off many, many more cards, um both that are to be included within the four commander decks and also just the ah packs that you can just pull.
00:02:27
Speaker
um There are, God, there's a lot. Like, there are so, so many. Like, there are 120, currently on the site,
00:02:38
Speaker
ah There's 126 white black, seventy two red seventy four green one hundred and ninety three multicolor twenty five colorless fifty eight artifacts and one hundred four unique land Yeah, when you say all of the cards, that but there's a lot.
00:03:01
Speaker
There's a lot, and it ranges from all of the games. So you got Cloud, you got a Searle, some Final Fantasy XIV references like The Machinist or...
00:03:16
Speaker
ah well, there's like all the machinists, like every class of fantasy 14 has like a card. Um, you got FF 14 character. You have so, there's so many, there's so many, there's a card for triple triad. There's a card for blitz ball even,
00:03:31
Speaker
Like, there is ah lot. um How they're doing Sid is there is a yeah one specific card that's a common, and it has 15 different art styles, and they're all the different Sids, because there's only one Final Fantasy game that did not include Sid. Do you know which one that is, Nick?
00:03:52
Speaker
I'm gonna say... ah most recent one, 16. No, it was the first one. The first Final Fantasy. Okay. Well... yeah I mean, you were close. I had a 1.16 chance. You had a 1...
00:04:05
Speaker
yeah what ah But yeah, no, there are they think the they the cards are really, really fucking cool. um That's awesome. Actually, I was going to ask you, did they like try to feature like something from every Final Fantasy? Yeah, like I've been looking through all these. It's like there's it's like i every Final Fantasy is featured.
00:04:29
Speaker
that's um There are summon cards like for Good King Mog the 12th or Ixion Ifrit. ah They have the Ferris wheel date and very in four different artworks for that um from Final Fantasy 7.
00:04:48
Speaker
Um, they've got, god there's just so I'm going through all of these. I'm just trying to, you got Barts and Boko. You got a, you got a sorcery call that's just communed with beavers because that's, ah that's the thing that happens. Uh, you got the jumbo cactuar, uh, which is one of my favorite cars that they revealed. It has its its ability is called 10,000 needles.
00:05:08
Speaker
So whenever the creature attacks, it gets plus 9,999, uh, until the end the turn. ah time until the end of the term um And it is absolutely wild and fun.
00:05:23
Speaker
And there's a lot. There's so, so many. Wow. Well, maybe this will also mean that this could potentially pave the way for Kingdom Hearts MTG crossover.

Week in Review: Gaming Highlights

00:05:36
Speaker
Possibly. um the The only thing there is you also got to get some... Disney approval and Disney kind of has their own card game as well um which I mean I'll take Kingdom Hearts and Larkana even like that would still be cool yeah so like you you know Magic the Gathering gets ah gets that and then Larkana gets Kingdom Hearts I mean I'll i' i'll be fine with that even no complaints heard from Tony no No complaints from Tony. No, none indeed.
00:06:09
Speaker
ah and Speaking of Kingdom Hearts, well, Kingdom Hearts was in the news and we'll be covering that along with a bunch of other things that happened this past week as we dive right in to the week in review.
00:06:21
Speaker
Recapping the major stories of video games and the world of tabletop, looking over recent releases and reports from the Game Lounge crew, it's the week in review. And kicking it off, some of the major games that came out these past two weeks, you had Revenge of the Savage Planet, The Midnight Walk, Capcom Fighting Collection 2, Doom the Dark Ages, Spirit of the North 2, and Labyrinth of the Demon King.
00:06:44
Speaker
ah With one of the big ones, Doom the Dark Ages, that's the the big, big one that people were very excited for as Doomguy has gone medieval. Yeah, honestly, a pretty pretty good lineup all around for for big and small releases.
00:07:01
Speaker
Yes. I know The Midnight Walk is, I think, one of the first of its kind with it being claymation animated for a video game. Yeah, that looks so, so cool. I desperately want to play that game.
00:07:13
Speaker
um And I was also a big fan of Journey to the Savage Planet, so I'm excited to see what that developer ah does for a second go-around Revenge. Yeah.
00:07:24
Speaker
It's at absolutely absolutely crazy. Looking forward to ah play getting around to some of these games eventually because there's a lot of of other games to get through as well. I don't know if you know this, Tony. There's a lot of video games out there.
00:07:37
Speaker
ah Really? and we only have so much time. Oh, my God. Holy shit. I can't believe this. This just died yeah this just did There's so many games. It's so little time.
00:07:49
Speaker
Yeah. would Would you rather have

Game Releases and Announcements

00:07:51
Speaker
unlimited bacon and no games or unlimited games, but no games?
00:08:00
Speaker
Wait. Wait, what? whereas you do Do you not know? that do Have you never heard that? no ah Just look that look it up after. It makes no sense.
00:08:13
Speaker
That's the point. Okay, perfect. It's in a world of... Speaking of which... Speaking of which, hey, um let's look at our video game news. ah First off, Grand Theft Auto 6 released its second trailer, and we got a first look at a few of the new characters, including, I think, our co-protagonist, Jason.
00:08:35
Speaker
ah Yeah, that sounds right. And also some other characters like Booby Ike and ah a few other side characters. They also revealed a couple of the activities that you'll be able to do ah in the game, including billiards, scuba diving, dirt bike racing, and ah clubbing.
00:08:54
Speaker
So I really hope that the clubbing is actually like a rhythm mini game, because I think that'd be cool. Ooh, yeah, that would be fun. And it gets harder if you're like more inebriated or something. Ooh, yes, absolutely. yeah Like a hard mode or something.
00:09:08
Speaker
Yeah, I would be down for that. be be Give us a rhythm game to like actual copyrighted music, Rockstar. Let it be the case. Let that be the case. I would i would really enjoy that.
00:09:19
Speaker
Maybe there will be like a romancing mini game, like a mini dating sim within the whole game where you can try and hit on people. Maybe. Or you get hit on. Who knows?
00:09:31
Speaker
well Oh, who knows?

World Video Game Hall of Fame Inductees

00:09:34
Speaker
ah In Dragon Ball news, Dragon Ball Z Kakarot revealed that its next DLC will be the first part of Dragon Ball Dima and releases July 17th.
00:09:44
Speaker
um Part two will release later on. They did not give an exact date on that. In Expedition 33 news, they released their first patch for the game to nerf an ability for Mael with that, ah if you had the right endgame build, would deal enough damage to kill the major super boss 45 times over.
00:10:08
Speaker
it's good thing that they nerfed that then. ah So Stendhal, which is the move that got nerfed, has been nerfed by 40%, which is roughly 2 billion damage nerfed.
00:10:19
Speaker
Only a small amount. Only a small em amount. And guess what, guys? Do not worry. There are still ways for you to use that ability and still one-hit the super boss. Oh, good.
00:10:30
Speaker
they They've already come up with solutions. Also, in Expedition 33 news, their soundtrack has topped Billboard's classical album chart with 18 million streams since launch.
00:10:44
Speaker
That's awesome. Which is very awesome. It's really dope and... Honestly, I think Expedition 33 has a very solid chance to sweep the game awards this year.
00:10:55
Speaker
Yeah, ah that's that's all I've been hearing. It's a frontrunner for sure. In some Hall of Fame news, Defender, GoldenEye007, Quake, and Tamagotchi have been inducted into the World Video Game Hall of Fame.
00:11:11
Speaker
Always good to see more games being inducted. Okay, now I gotta ask, because Tamagotchi was brought up, Did you watch the Nintendo Direct before the Switch 2 Direct where they revealed Tamagotchi Plaza?
00:11:26
Speaker
I believe I did, yeah. Okay, so... That was quite the trailer. So, I mean, the trailer was whatever. It was how the announcer pronounced Tamagotchi. Oh, I don't remember that part.
00:11:39
Speaker
They pronounced it Tamagotchi. they absolutely slaughter it? They pronounced Tamagotchi. And so that sparked a debate. Is that how it's supposed to have been pronounced this entire time? And we, but of course, being the Westerners who watched the Tamagotchi commercials, which was done by Westerners, is that, is this, is this, is this them trying to retcon this? Or is this a Nintendo error?
00:12:05
Speaker
Well, I mean, it was the person announcing it like one of the creators. No, Or was it just some i press person? here here's but but it's it was It was our regular Nintendo Switch headlines guy. Hmm.
00:12:21
Speaker
Well, and you would think they would have done their their diligence. I would side with the Easterners on this one and just give them the benefit of the doubt. I would say Tamagotchi might be the right way to say it. But it also could be just a potato-potato situation.
00:12:35
Speaker
who who Who knows? Well, I guess we'll never know.

New PlayStation Studio Announcement

00:12:38
Speaker
There's no way to find out. Unfortunately, there's no way to find out. There is absolutely no way to find out.
00:12:46
Speaker
Do not Google it. We'll just never know. No. ah PlayStation has' they has announced a new development studio, Team LFG. This is a studio made up of Bungie devs.
00:13:01
Speaker
They're working on a project. We'll be talking about Bungie a bit later as they've ah done some stuff too. ah But more on that later. It's the more like for the important news. The most important news. The most important news that we're going to cover this week. Echo the Dolphin creator Ed Ananziata said in an interview, remasters of the original Echo game and sequel are coming.
00:13:25
Speaker
Hell yes. He also pointed to the Echo the Dolphin website. It shows a countdown to April 26, 2026.
00:13:36
Speaker
We don't know what it means. yeah box people Does this mean that next April is when the Echo remasters are going to be released? Or are we getting Echo 3?
00:13:47
Speaker
three or potentially ah just more Echo news all around. I hope it's dolphin related.
00:13:58
Speaker
if Either way, I feel like we're going to be eating pretty well, Tony. Yeah. It's a win-win situation, I feel like. you know We'll be eating fish just like Echo. Yeah.
00:14:09
Speaker
Not to be confused with eating dolphin. Do not eat the dolphin. No. Dolphins are friends, not food. Exactly. Exactly. Tekken 8 is in the news as they had released their latest ah reveals for season two.
00:14:25
Speaker
The stage pack pixels and the character fuck your mom both come in summer 2025. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. The character what? Fuck him Rob.
00:14:37
Speaker
Sorry. Okay. I'm i'm good now. I thought I misheard you the first time around there. ha Yeah, Faka Rob. um everybody's Everybody's favorite. it Actually, no, this guy.
00:14:51
Speaker
A lot of people are not happy with this reveal. Everybody's least favorite, more like. now i don't I don't know why people. Again, I'm a recent Tekken fan. um I do not know who Faka Rob is, and I don't know why the community dislikes them.
00:15:07
Speaker
But they're coming out 2025 summer. all right ah We also got a first look at Jackbox Party Packs 11's first game, Suspectives.
00:15:19
Speaker
um This is a game that will have players answering general questions and sussing out who the criminal is amongst the detectives. um a little bit It's a little bit like, oh what's it called? Pointed Out or something from the third or fourth party pack?
00:15:37
Speaker
Okay. I'm not super familiar. It's a little bit like that, um but it's ah slightly different. um Same, same, but different. Same, but different, yeah. Gears of War Reloaded was announced for August 26, a remaster of the first game.
00:15:53
Speaker
And in a surprise shock, it's going to be coming to PlayStation 5 as well. Now that's big. ah A massive Microsoft Xbox exclusive coming to PlayStations.
00:16:06
Speaker
yeah Yeah, that's pretty wild. And not just like some like Xbox exclusive like Forza where it's just like, oh, another car game. like This is one of the many faces of Xbox.
00:16:19
Speaker
Yes. yeah as mark Is Marcus Fenix. um So does this mean Halo 7 will come to the PlayStation 2? Who knows? No, no, PlayStation 5. I think it would come to the PlayStation 5. Honestly, though, if they ported the Master Chief Collection to PlayStation 2, that would probably be just as big news.
00:16:39
Speaker
I feel like that would make my playstation your PlayStation 2 explode a little bit. like Potentially, yeah. It's the Master Chief Collection, but it's only Halo 1 and 2 that are actually playable.
00:16:50
Speaker
yeah um yeah because Yeah, I would not be able to handle anything else. If you play it to your PlayStation 3, you can play Halo 3. Yeah. yeah Yeah. Dune awakenings beta is now open to anybody who pre-ordered the game. So if you want try to check out that open world survival MMO beta, ah you now can.
00:17:10
Speaker
i will say this as a guy who's really not into Dune that much, never really got into it. kind Like to me, all that, those trailers came out. i'm like, what the fuck is a Dune? uh and then i was informed by my older co-worker that like know this is like like this is like a star wars level except from like books from like long long ago i'm like yeah this is like the template for sci-fi yeah this is like the yeah the sci-fi template i'm like oh okay shit i'm i i didn't realize i was talking shit about a series i should be bowing down to a little bit
00:17:42
Speaker
ah I will say this. the old The survival aspect of this game looks really cool from what we've seen from the trailers. I just don't know how I feel about the MMO elements that they're trying to make it work. Honestly, I saying think this would just be a nice multiplayer survival game.
00:17:59
Speaker
and For sure. ah ah in the On the sand world to get some spices. Mm-hmm. Spiceland, I think, is called. Spiceland. Oh, yeah. Just like Sandland by Toriyama.
00:18:14
Speaker
yeah ah The $200 deluxe edition of the Gex Trilogy remaster um was announced and it includes a three-foot inflatable Gex and a box art from the legendary illustrator Yoshitaka Amano.
00:18:28
Speaker
um This is being done by a Limited Run Games. you know You know what I actually think might be the the news we get next year for Echo the Dolphin is we'll get three-foot-tall Echo the Dolphin inflatable from limited run games.
00:18:43
Speaker
That's my prediction. Oh, shit. oh i' out no you but No, I don't think it'll be three feet. I think it'll be five. Yeah, maybe like, honestly, just go like full eight feet or something and it's like a pool inflatable that you can use. Yes, exactly. They can pull it. Yeah, honestly, no, I would see that. I could totally see that.
00:19:02
Speaker
Yeah. I would be down for that. With a little slot for you to put your game console in you can game on the water because that's a smart idea. Yeah, exactly.
00:19:12
Speaker
You put your console in Echo's pool. It's actually, yeah, it's...
00:19:21
Speaker
but Oh my God. And you can clip that. You have my blessing. ha ah sorry um was so out of left field. ah Oh,
00:19:35
Speaker
oh ah here I was just about to make, uh, you know, an electrocution in the pool joke. ah We could go either way. Yeah. No, it's great. Um,
00:19:46
Speaker
yeah oh great um in some sad news of, uh, support being shut down, support for Minecraft VR is ending.
00:19:58
Speaker
Uh, you're yeah able to play Minecraft in Uh, ah We barely knew Yi, but honestly, i feel like you would get... Like, okay, so i have a VR headset now. Oh, do you? Nice.
00:20:13
Speaker
Yeah, I got a PSVR 2. It's pretty cool. I will say this. yeah My dad wanted to try out NFL... and if fell Pro era 2. It's the VR football game. i'm not By Madden.
00:20:26
Speaker
By EA Sports. and like It's official in everything and We put it on. you know we We're like, okay, yeah, let's give this a try. Sure. I got fucking motion sickness from that game.
00:20:40
Speaker
Oh, OK. Well, hopefully just that game like just not going to play other stuff is because of the movement of how full how like it feels like very real that you're moving that like almost feel like yeah, like compared to other games where it's like you point and click to move.
00:21:00
Speaker
Right. Usually this is like full. You can you use the analog stick to move. I cannot do that. That this just just takes me out. yeah I'm like, okay, nope, I cannot. mean, that's standing up or sitting down. I cannot do it.
00:21:14
Speaker
Wow. Okay. Good to know. Yeah. um So honestly, kind of a good thing that Minecraft VR has come to an end because I feel like a lot of, if you don't get Vertigo, you will after doing that. yeah Mafia the Old Country is has a release date set for August 8th now and got a brand new trailer.
00:21:34
Speaker
a but In and News of the Pope... a Spanish TV news station used the Dark Souls 3 boss fight to illustrate with 100% accuracy how the Conclave would elect a new Pope.
00:21:52
Speaker
That... There's something, like, North American TV is doing wrong, clearly. Or, like, TV news. Because, like, why can't we do that?
00:22:05
Speaker
I... I don't... I... I i don't know.
00:22:11
Speaker
I don't know. To make things even funnier, they also used, like, football team formations of the cartoonish clip art versions of the Cardinals of, like...
00:22:22
Speaker
All right, so there's Cardinal Jacksonfield, or what's-his-face, sitting. it it was it was is It was, I'm like, oh, oh what the, what am i watching?
00:22:33
Speaker
oh my God. Yeah, so ah the the congrats to Popelio, by the way. It's not every day you get to see a Pokemon become the Pope.
00:22:43
Speaker
Makes it extra special, I think. It makes it extra special because it's also everybody's least favorite Alolan starter.
00:22:51
Speaker
ah i've been There are so many people I've told, hey, you know what? I really like like this new Pope. ah I mean, one, he's like one because he's ah he was friends with the old Pope. So it's like, okay. He was like tight with him. So that's a good sign of like yeah where he like stands on like a lot of beliefs and stuff with... ah the LGBTQ and other stuff, uh, which is very solid.
00:23:17
Speaker
Um, but it's also like, it's like, I know. So it's just like, yeah, because he's named after a Pokemon. There is a generation like, like why won't you hope we owe the 14 pop pop.
00:23:30
Speaker
Like it's great. Yeah. Yeah. They're just little sealed. They're just little dudes. And they're all in a, they're all in a robe to, uh, become, to become the Pope. Anyway, in Bungie news, starting off with some Destiny stuff, Bungie kicked off the next major saga of Destiny 2. They're calling it the Fate Saga, which will unfold over multiple years, and it starts on July 15th with the first new expansion, The Edge of Fate.
00:23:56
Speaker
Also, in December, it's getting an expansion called Renegades, which adds lightsabers in a crossover with Star Wars. Oh, that's that's cool. Yeah. It'll be interesting to see.
00:24:07
Speaker
i don't I don't really know where Destiny 2 is going to go with all this new stuff. i like Now that they've done their major stuff with the final shape, right I don't really know where the future of Destiny 2 is going to go.
00:24:25
Speaker
Yeah, i wonder if this will maybe be a sort of test season or saga, I guess, like you yeah said, ah to see how popularity stands maybe once Marathon releases, because that's supposed to be their next big thing, isn't it? it is. we will be talking about Marathon just a bit. ah In some program death news, Skype is officially shut down.
00:24:49
Speaker
ah Another one. Another one claimed. Yes, the announcement was made last year. they They announced it last year that it only had a couple months left to live and it is now dead.
00:25:01
Speaker
RIP Skype. You had your chance, but you blew it. You blew it. Magnificently. can no longer call my grandma. You should just have no other way of contacting her.
00:25:15
Speaker
There's absolutely no other way. there there There's no other way. I just can't. All she used was Skype. Can't do it now. yeah kid She threw her computer into the ocean after finding out that Skype had it.
00:25:30
Speaker
She threw it all the way. yeah yeah i She has a really strong arm, by the way. she she yeah Like we're in a landlocked province. I know she's in a landlocked province. She traveled all the way to the coast yeah and threw it in the ocean.
00:25:47
Speaker
Yeah, but that's exactly what she did. ah Persona 5, the Phantom X, the mobile gacha game, finally has a global release date of June 26th and will be releasing on mobile devices and Steam simultaneously.
00:26:04
Speaker
um So if you're Persona fan or a gacha fan, your new fill of anime... characters is coming. i mean, I've been looking at a little bit of that because i'm like, I might give it a try and just try go free to play for it and right see how well it goes. But yeah, we'll see. We'll see.
00:26:24
Speaker
In Steam news, ah so Valve said it examined a leak that affected 89 million users and had people freaking the fuck out thinking, oh God, 89 million accounts were hacked.
00:26:40
Speaker
So Val did confirm that it was the accounts were not breached. Users did not. You do not have to change your password or phone numbers or anything. But whenever stuff like this happens, it's always a nice precaution to change your password.
00:26:54
Speaker
Yep. um And it set up two-factor authentication if you don't have it. ah But what had been breached were old expired text messages containing one-time authentication codes, all of which were expired.
00:27:10
Speaker
These were linked to the phone numbers they were sent to, you but the phone numbers were not linked to any account details. Okay. So, not but super big big deal.
00:27:20
Speaker
Not a super big deal, but just change your passwords, folks. just like but Whenever you see stuff like this come out, it's a good reminder to, hey, maybe change your password. For sure. ah In Minecraft news, saddles are now craftable in Minecraft's new stabshot.
00:27:36
Speaker
After how many fucking years? both Well, since they were added to the game, so like a decade ago plus. Yeah. Yeah. Like, yeah. But yeah, basically. Yeah. Ever since ah the pig flying achievement was added into the game.
00:27:54
Speaker
Yeah, like, I mean, i i did see one kind of comment ah speaking on this whole kind of debate of why they haven't had a recipe for a long time. And I do understand this point of, like, when they were first added, there was nowhere near as many, like, structures and as much good loot to find yeah when you're kind of exploring. So, like, that was...
00:28:16
Speaker
one of the the higher profile things you could find, so it didn't really need one. But after all this time, it should yeah definitely should have got one sooner, but I'm glad that it's finally getting one.
00:28:27
Speaker
Yeah, and now we just got to get court Horse Armor craftable too. Exactly. yeah And then Minecraft will be the best employee game. A complete... They can stop development after that. They can stop development.
00:28:42
Speaker
ah Yeah. In some Pokemon news, the Pokemon Fossil Museum, a Japanese exhibition that pairs man-made Pokemon fossils with real-world Asian life forms, will be making its international debut at Chicago's Field Museum next year in 2026.
00:28:57
Speaker
Which some of the screenshots for this look absolutely insane. um like Oh, yeah. I remember seeing some this. This looks really cool. Yeah, no, it looks really, really cool. And I think our Nintendo insider, our good friend Aiden, think come 2026, we might find him there.
00:29:18
Speaker
it's too Living there. That's where he's been this whole time. Dinosaurs and Pokemon. that's i mean He's live there. yeah yeah In Kingdom Hearts news, we got two stories.
00:29:30
Speaker
ah First off, Missing Link, the AR mobile game that they were working on, it has been canceled officially. After being delayed and delayed, they've just finally canceled it.
00:29:41
Speaker
ah And in that sad news, they're like, but wait, Kingdom Hearts 4 screenshots. And the Kingdom Hearts community is like, oh my fucking God, it's real!
00:29:52
Speaker
Yeah. And I mean, they look cool. um It's not a lot screenshots, but we did get like a nice, we got, ah oh we did see like, I think the HUD, the combat HUD was in one of them. So that was cool to see.
00:30:07
Speaker
And yeah, no, I can't wait to see more details. Whenever square decides to give us some more, I'll be eating it up off the floor. Like the dog. I am. What an image.
00:30:18
Speaker
And here to make you feel old news. Leroy Jenkins. that has turned That whole internet moment is 20 years old. Man, that that's wild.
00:30:29
Speaker
yeah that That's actually actually insane. That means I was 7 or 8 when it happened. No, I would have been 7.
00:30:41
Speaker
I was 7 years old when Leroy Jenkins happened. Crazy. And if you told me, well, if you asked me what a world of Warcraft was, I'd be like, I don't know. I'm seven. I'm seven. What do you want me to say? i don't know what a world of Warcraft is. Yep.
00:30:55
Speaker
Why you talking to me? I'm only seven. Get away from me. Ranger danger. Ranger danger.
00:31:01
Speaker
In more delayment news, Marvel 1943 Rise of Hydra has been delayed until next year now as well. In some television news, a Fallout Season 2 teaser trailer, about 33 seconds in length, has confirmed a December release for the second season.
00:31:18
Speaker
Ooh, the setting of New Vegas. Yeah, I guess that that's something you would only really know if you finish the show. Yeah. i also yeah It also shows in the trailer, apparently. It shows off in the distance, New Vegas. I'm like, oh, sweet.
00:31:35
Speaker
Cool. Awesome, yeah. I'm very excited. am very hyped for that. Yeah. and ah more service-ending news. Tribe 9, which was released on February 18th, is ending service on November 27th.
00:31:49
Speaker
The game will not be receiving new content in between this time either. So don't waste your money on the game anymore. Is this another Concord situation? What's going on? yeah i don't even know what this one... You see, this was like ah ah It's very Danganronpa style of how it looks, but it's a very it's a like action gameplay plus baseball.
00:32:16
Speaker
It's a weird one. It's a weird one. it's getting It's getting shut down. It was a mobile gacha game, man. It did not last long, apparently. do not take any sponsorship from this, guys, because you won't get shit from it.
00:32:29
Speaker
Yeah. In Nintendo news, Diddy Kong has been redesigned for Donkey Kong Bonanza, and that has been revealed. ah kind of looks pretty much the same.
00:32:41
Speaker
Like, but there's not much of a change to Diddy with his redesign. Like, it's pretty accurate. It's pretty similar to his old design still, which is yeah it's nice. Like, I'm not saying it's a bad design. It's just, like, yeah you got to really look at Diddy to see the differences. Oh, yeah, that's interesting.
00:33:00
Speaker
Yeah. It's ah interesting. he He got like a more subtle change than Donkey Kong did. Yeah. And lastly, back to Bungie.
00:33:11
Speaker
Well, they're in hot water currently because ah paul in Marathon's open or closed beta or alpha that they've been the game is in, well, there's poster designs have spotted and littered throughout the game.
00:33:25
Speaker
Well, they're stolen. All of those designs were stolen from Twitter user 4NT1RE4L, um which I think is Antoine for real or Antoine real or whatever it is.
00:33:42
Speaker
um Regardless, they tweeted about it saying, yeah, the all those designs match the work that they did from 2017. Specifically, he knows it was his stuff because one of his artworks was just a ah meme of loss with all those lines.
00:33:58
Speaker
that's in It's in Marathon. And it turned also turned out like Marathon's director or art director followed that guy. two uh and it's just like further evidence oh yeah so it's not looking good so you know what bungee may have an anti uh ai art uh protocol that they follow but man do they sure love to steal yeah that's that is unfortunate is very unfortunate and not a great loop for marathon this early on when it's already a game that's taught people divisive already.
00:34:37
Speaker
yeah allies Some ongoing game news and Fortnite news. In gamers, can't have nice things. An AI voice filter for Darth Vader has been added to the game with permission from the James Earl Jones estate.
00:34:52
Speaker
um This is replacing Darth Vader's, the Darth Vader Samurai as a Boston Galactic battle. Basically, the first team to recruit Vader in the Battle Royale or zero build matches will be able to interact with him using a special on-screen Darth Vader button asking him anything in real time.
00:35:08
Speaker
um This has led to people to having Darth Vader say skibbity toilet, ah swearing, and saying, of course, racial slurs.
00:35:19
Speaker
Yeah. The more things change, the more they stay the same. I give it less than a week before it gets removed. Yeah. No kidding.
00:35:31
Speaker
In some Blizzard news, Overwatch 2 is collaborating with Street Fighter on the 20th. ah Pricing is not yet announced for the skins, but here's what you're going to be getting. Hanzo will be cosplaying as Ryu, Juno as Chun-Li, Kiriko as Juri, Sigma as M. Bison, Soldier 76 as Guile, Widowmaker as Kami, Winston as Blanka, and Zenyatta as Dalsim.
00:35:56
Speaker
So you'll be able to do a Hadouken in Overwatch 2 now. Yeah. Happy for everyone who who will be and excited for that. Yeah, happy for all the people who drop however much dollars it may cost.
00:36:13
Speaker
Ugh, yeah. In TCG news, Pokemon Destined Rivals drops on May 30th. And in TCG Pocket News, Alona Ninetales promo drop is on until May 25th.
00:36:26
Speaker
In Yu-Gi-Oh! news, Battle of the Legend Monster Mayhem drops June 13th, and Duelists advance on July 4th. In regular Magic of the Gathering news, the file Fantasy Packs, June 13th, marked on your calendars.
00:36:39
Speaker
Edge of Eternity drops August 1st. Spider-Man cards drop us September 26th. And the Avatar The Last beder so Airbender set on November 21st. And in Lorcanum news, Reina Jafar drops on June 6th. And Fabled will drop sometime in quarter three.
00:36:56
Speaker
And that is everything in the week in review. Any final thoughts on any of those, Nick? Uh, no, I thought don't think so. I think we touched on everything I wanted to kind of get some thoughts in on.
00:37:08
Speaker
All righty. Well, with that, it's time for us to move on to what you should be looking ahead for. Here are all the games that should be on your radar from May 19th to 30th. From AAA titles, indie hits, hidden gems, and hot pieces of garbage, here are the games coming out that should be on your radar.
00:37:25
Speaker
And starting it off on the 19th, Frog Legs comes to the PC. On the 20th, Roadcraft comes to the PlayStation 5, Series X, and PC. Sea of Stars, Throes of the Watchmaker DLC releases on everything.
00:37:40
Speaker

00:37:58
Speaker
And Monster Train 2 comes to the PS5, Series X, Switch, and PC. On the 22nd, Blades of Fire and Deliver at All Costs both released for the PlayStation 5, Series X, and PC, as does Linked Banner of the Spark.
00:38:14
Speaker
TMNT Tactical Takedown, Windward Horizon, and and Grandma No all released on the PC. Zombie Army VR releases on the Quest 3, PSVR 2 in PC.
00:38:26
Speaker
Out of Sight comes to the PlayStation 5, Series X, Switch and PC, and Warshippers of Cthulhu comes to the PC. On the 23rd, Onimusha 2 Samurai's Destiny makes its way to PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.
00:38:40
Speaker
No releases on the 26th or the 27th, but on the 28th, TuaT releases on X Series X, Xbox One, and PC. And I believe this is the that's the game that has you in a T-pose the entire time.
00:38:53
Speaker
ah ah make That would make sense. No releases on the 29th, but on the 30th, Disney Illusion Island starring Mickey and Friends releases on everything but the Switch because it was a Switch exclusive.
00:39:05
Speaker
Elden Ring Night Rain releases on everything but the Switch. F-125 releases on the PlayStation 5, Series X, and PC. HyperCharge Unboxed makes its way to both PlayStations. Lost Soul Aside comes to the PS5 and PC.
00:39:18
Speaker
And Rune Factory Guardians of Azuma comes to the Switch and PC. And that's everything coming out. ah Your big releases, if you are a fan of Sea of Stars ah or are looking to get into Sea of Stars, the DLC is great. um Honestly, I would recommend Sea of Stars if you really enjoyed Expedition 33.
00:39:38
Speaker
Sea of Stars is very similar. it is pixelized, but it does involve doing actions to increase your attack damage and a dodge and block system.
00:39:53
Speaker
um to take less damage I don't think it has parries but i it they might have added that I don't know so do give Sea of Stars a try i enjoyed it for what little bit I did play of it as I had it for free on PS Plus and then it got removed from the service and I was no I i was in case with other games at the time of its release and I am sad that I never finished it um And of course, um the other big release at the end of the month, Elden Ring Night Ring.
00:40:27
Speaker
People are excited for this. I'm not, though. This is like... You know what? I've respected lot of Souls players with their big releases and everything. It's like, you know what?
00:40:38
Speaker
The games aren't for me, but I'll still respect the those those gamers and their game. I do not respect Elden Ring Night Ring one bit. Not one bit. I think...
00:40:49
Speaker
I don't know what it is. This game to me being like exclusively, i don't know. if I feel like it takes like all the soul out of a Souls game a little bit.
00:41:00
Speaker
Interesting. See, I'm also not big into Souls games either, and everything I've seen ah from this one feels like a nice sort of, what would you even call it?
00:41:15
Speaker
It's just like a nice sort of additive to everything that's come from Elden Ring. like it it It feels like something that will satiate Soulsborne fans until the next kind of big thing. Until they have to buy a Switch 2 to play a new Bloodborne game.
00:41:33
Speaker
yeah Yeah, pretty much. Whether it warrants an entire new game... whether it warrant like an entire new game or whether it could have just been, i don't know what the ah kind of ah infrastructure needed would be and to install this into the pre-existing game and just have it be sort of a DLC. But this is but it does feel sort of like a ah DLC plus sort of game in the way that like Miles Morales sort of was.
00:42:04
Speaker
Yeah, no, you bringing that up, actually I could have seen... like I feel like if they did Night Ring as a second DLC to Elder Ring, that's pure multiplayer of... Because that's what it is. This game is purely multiplayer with pre-built classes, and you go around...
00:42:20
Speaker
With your friends trying to survive and then take on the boss at every night. And it's just, I don't know. It it doesn't feel like it it feels hollow.
00:42:30
Speaker
Like this game, like it just feels off. I don't know what it is from everything I've seen. There's just something feels off about this game to me. Well, and it's probably also because like I think there were um there's some like ah Dark Souls bosses that are supposed to be featured in here as well. as so they just a by like Yeah, but fine. it's it's just like ah it's almost sort of like a ah greatest hits sort of add-on that's tacked on top of this. Yeah.
00:43:00
Speaker
Yeah, like, if if if I was a Souls fan, I don't know if I would be paying this much for what is this said what essentially could have just been a ah DLC. Right.
00:43:11
Speaker
Right. But then again, what how how much was Shadow of the Eritree? I think that was just another full game again, wasn't it? Yeah. But, to be fair, everything I've heard about that, like, it is substantial.
00:43:26
Speaker
yeah no Yeah, to be fair, yes, there is that, but still... I don't know. I feel like this, of everything FromSoft has given us, this feels the most cash grabby from them.
00:43:39
Speaker
Right, yeah, still trying to capitalize on all the Elden Ring success. And I think, honestly, I think we need a, I think we are in a flood of Souls games still, and we need to slow it down a little bit.
00:43:56
Speaker
Yeah, it's definitely one of the more prevalent preble that saturated. market It's oversaturated right now. Stop making salt. It's the new Battle Royale. Yeah.
00:44:08
Speaker
And they they need to stop. It's time. Like iDubbbz said, it's time to... No, that was Filthy Frank. It's time to stop. But yeah. ah and And lastly, if you like cozy farm games as a samurai, Rune Factory, Guardians of Azuma coming it out as well.
00:44:25
Speaker
ah But yeah, no, those are those are pretty much the big, ah the big big games coming out. um Link's Banner of the Spark before ah it is a... They showed it off at one of either Summer Game Fest or the Game Awards ah because it set it sounds very familiar.
00:44:43
Speaker
i think this is... um I think it's like supposed to be like capitalizing on like the PS2 platform era a little bit. So maybe give that one a ah look at as well.
00:44:57
Speaker
ah And of course, if you like, Grandma, no. um If this is the game I'm thinking of, definitely give that one a look at as as well.
00:45:09
Speaker
Is it? is it the ah Oh, no, this is not what I was thinking of as well. What the? Wait, what is? Oh, my God. ah Oh, you know what? Go check out Grandma No. this yeah world This is an open world sandbox game where you play as a grandma's liberties and wreak havoc in a physics-driven comedy where nothing stays out of under control.
00:45:32
Speaker
it looks It's giving me Octodad and Untitled Goose game vibes, I would say. Yeah. Oh, my God. i would Maybe a little bit of ah Thank Goodness You're Here as well.
00:45:46
Speaker
Yeah, another great game. Thank goodness you're here. It was fantastic. Yeah, this looks great. I am wishlisting this right now, actually. Hold on. Me too, yeah. Grandma, no.
00:45:59
Speaker
And it comes out in five days. Yeah, oh yeah, it does. Oh, perfect. I know what I'll be doing in five days. ah All right, well with that, it's time for us to now move on to our main focus of the week.
00:46:13
Speaker
Here's what we're talking about this week in the game. Conversations of past and future games, the state of the gaming industry, how big decisions affect gamers and anything else that's important to us.
00:46:24
Speaker
Here's what's going down this week in the Game Lounge. Kicking it off. We're talking more Switch 2 because you know it's the biggest thing since sliced bread.
00:46:35
Speaker
Yep, that's true. That's what it's what there It is. um so Nick, what are your thoughts on the current game lineup for the Switch 2? um I think it's a fine ah launch lineup.
00:46:52
Speaker
I would say. I don't think it's... I feel like when you have a launch year that had both Mario Odyssey and Breath of the Wild come out, ah it's going to be near impossible to meet that level of quality with the Switch one.
00:47:14
Speaker
Yeah. But, I mean, i think it's going to be good. We're finally getting Prime 4. Yeah. um
00:47:23
Speaker
So that'll be good. A new Mario Kart that looks really promising um right off the bat. And then lots of kind of back support. I feel like this is probably the first
00:47:38
Speaker
console of Nintendo's although I mean I I'll say that with an asterisk because I have been a little bit out of the Nintendo loop until I got my switch um but it feels like anyway ah they're putting a lot of focus on the sort of backwards compatibility um features that like Xbox and PlayStation have really been ah leaning into a lot in the past ah five to ten years Yeah, and we really haven't seen, like, I mean, when it was the jump from the Wii U to the Switch, there was, like, no backwards compatibility unless the game was was essentially made for the Switch.
00:48:16
Speaker
Right, yeah, exactly. It seems like because with, like, game cards and sharing and stuff like that, and then all the focus on being able to put your Switch games in your Switch 2, um... um That's just been really nice to see. And then like the kind of, I don't remember if there was like a specific term they were using, but just the kind of upgrade.
00:48:38
Speaker
Yeah. I think they were doing upgrades. ah Yeah. For like both Zeldas and like there's Kirby forgotten land. And I think like a couple other ones too. yeah Both, ah both, both main Zeldas, Kirby for gore, Mario party,
00:48:55
Speaker
Mario pario Odyssey, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Clubhouse 51 games, ARMS. Oh, there's a Mario Odyssey upgrade?
00:49:07
Speaker
Yeah, I think it's just more graphic stuff on that Oh, okay. Not as many features? Yeah. yeah like some For some of them, it's like quality and it's like graphics and quality and performance. Right.
00:49:20
Speaker
And others, it's like new content like Kirby or Mario Party. Yeah. And others, it's the ability to do essentially Nintendo DS download play like Clubhouse 51 games.
00:49:33
Speaker
Okay. Where only one person has to own the game and you can play with three other people. Right. Yeah. Yeah. No, i think I think it'll be ah a pretty decent year as long as all of these games like do well, but I imagine they probably will. Like Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bonanza looks really fun. I think that'll kind of tide us over until the next 3D Mario comes out. Yeah, and Doug Bowser has slightly teased that like they're going to announce the 3D Mario soon.
00:50:03
Speaker
Well, not soon, but like there it's being worked on. Yeah, yeah that it it was a very political answer from him. It was like, stay tuned. Stay tuned, yeah. That's all he said, basically. It's like, okay, great.
00:50:16
Speaker
yeah But yeah, I don't know much about ah Kirby Air Riders at all, but that's another one and that'll be coming soon. I'm so excited for Kirby Air Riders.
00:50:27
Speaker
so As a guy who grew up with the GameCube and Kirby Air Ride specifically, I'm so ready for it. Awesome. I'm still ready for it.
00:50:38
Speaker
Yeah, I think between those those big titles plus, like we well we might still have some more hidden gems from directly from Nintendo coming ah that we don't know about.
00:50:49
Speaker
um But then with all of the other kind of third-party support that they're going to be getting within their launch year. We finally have third-party support for Nintendo. like That's good third-party support.
00:51:01
Speaker
Stuff that will run. Yeah, exactly. Elden Ring, they showed that will be running on the Switch. Yep. Cyberpunk 2077 will be running on the Switch, too. Yep.
00:51:15
Speaker
Hitman, World of Assassination. And the new James Bond game that IOI is working on as well. Borderlands 4. Borderlands. Yeah, that's still beefy games.
00:51:28
Speaker
Yeah. It's going to be nuts to see that stuff finally on Switch. And hopefully because of this, they clean up their eShop. Oh, God. God, I hope so.
00:51:42
Speaker
It's the one thing that I really hope the most comes out of this is they clean up the goddamn eShop from all of that shovelware garbage. Yeah, the the Nintendo seal of quantity, is as IGN likes to put it.
00:51:56
Speaker
yeah yeah Yeah, it's it's not been good. i all Because, you know, it's always, oh, I wonder what's on sale. Ah, hentai girls, two on sale.
00:52:11
Speaker
Yeah, mechanic car shop simulator, race, maximum overdrive, 17. yeah it's Yeah, there's some real fucking shit stinkers in there.
00:52:22
Speaker
and is It is pretty funny, though. If you're ever bored and don't feel like playing anything, just go on the eShop and look at some of the titles. you know yeah Honestly, you know what? To make it a drinking game, go yeah have you and your friends, if you have a Switch or a Switch, go on the eShop and make set of rules of every... like You have to read every title out loud, and whoever laughs ah has to take a drink.
00:52:50
Speaker
Yeah. or a shot or whatever and the the more drug you get and the more obnoxious these titles get i think you're in for a great night and that's uh that's what we call the the official nintendo drinking game there you go not a sponsor not sponsored no no god nintendo and alcohol that's uh that's uh far away down nintendo and gambling That's a whole other equation. that That's a-okay because they made cards.
00:53:21
Speaker
Therefore, ah i it's a whole other thing. But hey and they have an official Hanafuda deck you can get at the Nintendo Museum in Japan. So you can play Koi If you're a Koi Koi shark like i am, ah you're going to take people's fucking money.
00:53:40
Speaker
ah So what games are you hoping to see announced for the Switch 2? um I mean, like, boring answer would just be a lot of the usual suspects. Like, 3D Mario is probably at the top of my list for sure.
00:53:54
Speaker
um To be honest, like, I i will be quite content ah for a while just because I have such a disgusting... backlog of Nintendo first party games ah that I have yet to get around on my current Switch that will keep me keep me satiated until then. But like I was just trying to think of some things like I think it would just be really nice to see them give some love to some of their lesser used franchises in the more recent years, especially in the Switch's life cycle.
00:54:26
Speaker
So like getting a new Star Fox game, getting a new F-Zero would be really cool. I thought like maybe um if they wanted to keep trying to do some more underrated Legend of Zelda stuff, like maybe do a Four Swords reboot, just like from a ground up, do Four Swords because like you've got the Switch kind of co-op capabilities with multiplayer and stuff too, right? You could do a limited edition with like four different Joy-Cons, right?
00:54:54
Speaker
You know, that could be cool. um But yeah. That could cool, especially if they just decided to design it like, oh, hey, whatever color your joy-con is, is the color of Link's tunic.
00:55:07
Speaker
Yeah, yeah, exactly. That could be cool. tons of Tons of opportunity there, for sure. um Yeah, like, ah just another Luigi's Mansion would be awesome.
00:55:20
Speaker
Like, always more Luigi's Mansion, I feel like. Another Yoshi game would be great. um Like, keep giving some love to, like, ah Zelda and Peach, because they both just got their own first.
00:55:33
Speaker
Although, i actually don't know about Peach. well I don't know if she's had her own game before. It was her second game, but... Second game, okay. Her first is good one. Right, yeah. So just keep giving some love to maybe some, like, the side characters just overall.
00:55:47
Speaker
I want a Tingle game. yeah do Do an Ice Climbers game. Do another Ice Climbers game would be really cool. Give me a game where you... Where you play as Tingle.
00:55:59
Speaker
Exactly, yeah. And you just Kulu Limpa everywhere. ha,
00:56:07
Speaker
That's what I want. Uh, what about you? What are you, what are you most hoping for? um you know what? I'm excited. I'm excited for a lot of Nintendo's first party stuff. I'm like currently on my switch. I'm in the state of, well, I've played everything I want to play.
00:56:24
Speaker
I've done everything I want to do. I'm currently just trying to like master a couple of mini games at 51 clubhouse. Um, like I'm at the point with my Switch that I need that new stuff to come out now because I'm getting bored. I can only play Bellatro and and Clubhouse 51 Worldwide Classics so much before I lose my mind.
00:56:50
Speaker
yeah Yeah, that's fair. i do i do I wonder, do you think we'll get a new Animal Crossing on this one? You see, I don't know. I feel like it's too soon. Animal Crossing is...
00:57:05
Speaker
i feel like they I feel like if we get a new Animal Crossing game, it might be similar to what the 3DS did, where we had new Leaf and then Happy Home Academy.
00:57:17
Speaker
Okay. Now, granted, we did kind of get that with the Animal Crossing DLC. Yeah, yeah. I feel if we do get another one, it's not going to be up for a long time, and it'll probably be more towards the back half of the Switch 2's life cycle. like the The closest thing I think we could see is with the GameCube Virtual Console, they release OG Animal Crossing.
00:57:37
Speaker
yeah Like, that's what I could see ah them doing. I don't know if they will. I think that would be a tricky one to do because people, you know, you make stays save states in that game, but it uses a real time clock and calendar system, so that's a pretty tricky thing. that would i i it's what I don't think actually, i don't think they I don't think they will put Animal Crossing on the GameCube Virtual well Console.
00:58:04
Speaker
No, you don't think so? No, I think with how unique Animal Crossing's calendar system is and with how the old things you can make save states and stuff like unless they do a away with save states for the gamecube version console which i don't think they will right i think it will i don't think it would vibe as well well fair enough yeah so i think that's like would be one of the few games that we won't see on the the gamecube side of things
00:58:39
Speaker
A couple other things. I don't know if this... I put this under the ported section for things I'd want to see ported, but don't know if it would be kind of crossover. i don't but don't fully know where remasters land, but ah I would love... We got Metroid Prime remastered on the Switch. Let's get 2 and 3 remastered. Get those ah a collection. Yeah.
00:59:02
Speaker
i but um I have a theory. Because Metroid Prime 4 still doesn't have like an official release date yet, we just know this year, think that what they're doing is... I think that they might be planning a either A, they're going to put Metroid Prime 2 on the Switch GameCube but like damn close. like They might put 1 and 2 on the GameCube port side things.
00:59:31
Speaker
Or they will release like all three of them as the triill an HD trilogy bundle for the Switch, too. Yeah, I could see that. That would definitely be the Nintendo move to do. Because they did do that on Wii. Because they did do that with the Wii.
00:59:47
Speaker
They made the Metroid Prime trilogy. Okay. So I could see them doing it again. Yeah. And like digitally, it could be you get a discount if you got Metroid Prime remastered already. So you get a discount on like the bundle as a whole to get the other two.
01:00:05
Speaker
Yeah, I could see that. I mean, honestly, it's Nintendo too. I could see them just doing a Super Mario 3D All-Stars and doing like a limited release of it or something. um That's another thing I would be interested to see if they ever do again is that sort of release structure with like b it like more three d Mario games or do it with like Zeldas. or I mean, aside from those core three that they did with the with the Mario HD trilogy,
01:00:31
Speaker
with a mario h d trilogy um Like the only other one that you're missing there is Galaxy 2. So yeah. So you wouldn't really be able to do it as much with with Mario, but doing other things like maybe like package a bunch of the smaller Zeldas together.
01:00:48
Speaker
Or, you know, finally pack finally get HD Wind Waker and Twilight Princess off of the Wii Yep. Yep. Could be. You know, the two games that people are screaming to get off of the Wii U, Nintendo.
01:00:59
Speaker
Yeah. You got Xenoblade X off of the Wii U, finally. where where's where is it Where are the two, though? Where are essentially the last two games that people care about that are still on the Wii Yeah.
01:01:11
Speaker
You ever think about that? Huh? Huh, Nintendo? You ever think about that one? They want them of the Wii U and on the Switch. And all you're giving them is a GameCube port for Wind Waker, which is still nice, but it's not the HD one.
01:01:28
Speaker
They want HD. Where's the HD, Nintendo? Where is it? Yeah, I don't know. I don't know. These are good questions. These are good questions. Doug Bowser has not answered my emails that I have sent to him.
01:01:44
Speaker
i have I think I am on a watch list. Stay in line, Tony. Stay in line. Don't let up.
01:01:51
Speaker
I'll keep trying. Although I did get an automated response saying that if I send it again, I won't. I'm going to be banned from Nintendo. They're going to send a cease and desist.
01:02:02
Speaker
ah They're going to send that in black. They're going to send the Pinkertons after me. like I'm content with what Nintendo is giving us currently.
01:02:12
Speaker
ah And then next year we'll be getting Tamodachi Life. And that will be all we need. Honestly, yeah. yeah Like, legit. like god Like, you saw how much of a fiend I was back in our college days when I got that game on my 3DS.
01:02:28
Speaker
I was a fiend! I was fiending over Tamodachi. i I can attest to that. i was a witness. I witnessed account, ladies and gentlemen. He witnessed me making all of my classmates in Tamodachi life.
01:02:42
Speaker
Yes, I certainly did. ah And just seeing what would happen. Just see what happens. Yeah. I'll do it again.
01:02:53
Speaker
Watch me. That's a threat and a promise. ah ah I'll do it again, Nintendo. Just watch.
01:03:03
Speaker
Who are you to? You do not have a Switch 2 pre-ordered. I do not. No, i'm goingnna I'm going to probably be like I was with my so first Switch and be late to the game.
01:03:19
Speaker
Maybe get, a hopefully, a good bundle. um So, yeah, I'm not in a rush. I want to make sure I'm in ah a good financial state and I've got a ton of backlogged games, Switch or not, ah to keep me busy, so... That's fair. That's fair. I will be excited for the people who have. When do eventually get around to Mario Kart World, who you you gonna main who you who your who are you Who do you want to main in Mario Kart World? so this is this will maybe come as a surprise to you. I don't really know.
01:03:50
Speaker
But I only really just started kind of regularly playing Mario Kart 8 for the first time. Like within the last... Probably six months.
01:04:02
Speaker
I only just started actually like frequently playing it. Otherwise it was like maybe a one-off like every three years or something. I would have played it at like a friends or something or like a party house party.
01:04:16
Speaker
um I think it's the Lakitu. Yeah. I mean the Lakitu. Okay. Okay. He's my guy. He's a, he's adorable. but He's making a comeback for Worlds, so you'll be able to play as Locky too.
01:04:30
Speaker
And ah in ah in various costumes as well. Yes, that'll be exciting. ae realistically am probably just going to name Waluigi again.
01:04:41
Speaker
But you know what? Cow? oh i mean, you gotta. You got him you gotta it you gotta play as Cow for the meme. yeah i imagine day one online, it's going to be Cow lobbies everywhere.
01:04:54
Speaker
Oh, yeah, for sure. Also, I'm pretty sure I've seen like a pixelated zoomed in screenshots. People theorizing you might be able to play just as a dolphin. There's just a dolphin floating on top of a bike.
01:05:06
Speaker
There is a dolphin. no that It is confirmed. I have done the re I have seen the the footage. You got dolphin is character the the dolphin enemy is a character. What if that's Echo? What if that's the news we're getting next year?
01:05:19
Speaker
Echo the Dolphin in Mario Kart World Incredible! The collaboration of a lifetime! And then we just need to get him in Smash, and then we're we're good. Yeah. Okay, okay. I want ask you about Smash. Do you think they're going to make... Since Sakurai is working on Air Riders, do you think they're just going to port over Smash Ultimate and give it a few extra fighters or something? Or you think going to see a new Smash game a couple years down the line?
01:05:46
Speaker
That's such a tough one. I don't know. It really could go either way, honestly. Um... I would have thought if they maybe if they were to port it over, I feel like that would have been a good launch announcement opportunity yeah with like one new character or something.
01:06:07
Speaker
Especially with them announcing all of the like upgrade versions for everything else. You would have thought Smash Ultimate might have been in there too if they were going to do that. So I don't know.
01:06:18
Speaker
but also But the other thing is also gotta think that Sakurai has been working on Aeritis for God knows how long. yeah ah We know that he's been working on it since he was doing his ah YouTube channel project.
01:06:32
Speaker
awesome Which I think was like two or three years. Right. Or something like that. So we know that he just hasn't had time to do more Smash stuff to even consider doing a... Oh yeah, let's add a... Let's give them...
01:06:49
Speaker
Goomba in Smash Bros. i no Let's give him Lakitu. Or Cow. Yeah. Let's give him Cow for Smash Bros. Yeah.
01:07:01
Speaker
yeah It's the year of the cow on Nintendo Switch 2. is it Isn't it probably supposed to be like year of the bull? Is that what it's supposed to actually be? yeah It's the year of beef, regardless.
01:07:15
Speaker
yeah Where's the beef? Right here on Nintendo Switch 2. but Sponsored by Wendy's.
01:07:22
Speaker
Oh my God. Yo, Wendy's Nintendo's new collab. Where's the beef? It's right here on the Nintendo Switch 2 you just see ah a Dave a Hot Single sitting on Switch 2. There's a Dave's Hot Single trophy in Smash.
01:07:36
Speaker
That's the only thing they added. ah You can now fight Dave in Smash Ultimate as they put him as a spirit in the game so you can fight Dave yeah and he throws cheeseburgers.
01:07:50
Speaker
Yep. um he'll He'll make sure that you got those grill skills.
01:07:57
Speaker
Go watch the Wendy's training videos. There's four of them. Oh, they're so good. Okay. You have, you have seen them. Oh, that's amazing. ah good Zach showed when we were playing some fast food simulator, um, a while ago and Zach told us about them. So we watched them as our training video for the game and they are absolutely incredible,
01:08:23
Speaker
uh hot drinks will really get you going chili it could be served with cheese uh the cold drinks is pretty boring but uh those you're gonna get those grill skills at the end of the day uh is there anything else you want to add about the switch to nick Um, I don't think so. Maybe I'll just quickly shout out some like, uh, indie slash third party stuff I'm excited for.
01:08:49
Speaker
that was featured in like the, the switch to direct stuff, which Brooke looks absolutely gorgeous and looks like a great time. Uh, Marvel cosmic invasion looks really fun.
01:09:01
Speaker
um human fall flat two could be interesting. I'm very interested to see how they, uh, kind of do a, uh, a sequel. um And I mean, maybe Silksong might finally be coming out.
01:09:18
Speaker
I mean, and the question is, is it going to release before or after its um museum display in Australia? Oh, definitely after. That's almost a guarantee. Damn.
01:09:32
Speaker
You can almost guarantee it with Soxong. Time travel is a weird phenomenon that only Michael J. Fox and those that play Insert Map Game Here experience.
01:09:43
Speaker
Need time to disappear? Don't worry. That new colony you establish needs a lot of work. Oh, a minor faction that should be easy to fight? This war should be really quick. Oh, shit. Is that the sun?
01:09:57
Speaker
map games one minute it's the early evening the next minute the sun has risen and you have three missed calls from your boss well with that it's time for us to move on to our second topic of the day and our second topic what if it was medieval
01:10:18
Speaker
That's an Eric Andre joke because he said, what if it were purple that one time? And then what bad shit? Anyways, it'll land with some people. I'm sure.
01:10:30
Speaker
Do the dark ages has is now out. And it has shown us that even in hell, the medieval times are bad ass. Mm hmm. And has you you brought up a good question of like what other video game series could pull this off of going back into the medieval times.
01:10:48
Speaker
um So, so, Nick, i'll I'll start with you. What games do you think could pull off a medieval times? Entry in their series. You know, Tony, i look once I finally gave this some thought, because this felt like a very like more of a um really cool questioning concept, but then as soon as you kind of start digging through all of the different video game franchises, it became harder and harder for me to figure out what could actually pull this off.
01:11:18
Speaker
um Just because like there's already quite a few like developers and publishers and just sort of franchises that are sort of like either already kind of steeped in medieval because that like there's so many fantasy games out there which are like yeah by by their nature ah medieval.
01:11:40
Speaker
um But, like, I mean, you try to iterate on certain, even, like, just science fiction ah franchises, um like Fallout, and you just get Elder Scrolls, because that's they're very similar.
01:11:53
Speaker
but Yeah. um And then, like, Mass Effect, i mean, they it's just Dragon Age to some extent, right? um Yeah, guess yeah. think Mass Effect's a little bit more narrative. Yeah.
01:12:05
Speaker
But... i i think I came up with a few interesting ideas. I feel like probably the closest to the Doom games that could also pull it off would probably be something like Gears of War.
01:12:21
Speaker
I think it's probably pretty pretty similar. i mean, like also, having not played any of the Gears games, I have very little knowledge of them. so um but just from like an aesthetic basis. If they have a, if they have a time travel thing in the Gears universe, you could pull it off. Yeah. Yeah. And that's where you run into a lot of issues as well as like, where these like very narrative driven games? It's, it's harder to work in as like a sort of logical leap because like, I mean, the advantage with doom is it is very, it's a a little, they can get silly with it and they have a lot of creative Liberty.
01:12:58
Speaker
um but it still sort of works with the world building they've done in these these newer games um but these would just kind of be more like spinoffs I guess almost ah where you just kind of do Gears of War but kind of in medieval times ah you could just do a medieval hitman game okay I was about to I mean it's it would be very very like Assassin's Creed in a way but you'd have that kind of in-depth system that hitman has i was a lone farmer and then the king killed my wife now i'm on a mission to kill the king it's just a surf but he still has the barcode on back on the back of his head
01:13:47
Speaker
like you Oh my God. Or you could play into the, the kind of the a world of it all. And instead of a barcode, it's like a brand, like an iron branding on the back of his head. That would actually be sick.
01:14:02
Speaker
Yeah. Um, what else? Uh, maybe some more like, uh, something like licensed IPs. Uh, this is more just an excuse to get another like great, uh,
01:14:14
Speaker
ah Batman Arkham game, but doing like a Batman Arkham medieval ah game could be really cool. I mean, we've seen Batman Samurai, which was Batman Ninja.
01:14:25
Speaker
ah yeah, Ninja. Yeah, just give Batman a katana. do ah Do a mashup of Assassin's Creed, Ghost of Tsushima, and the Arkham games, and I feel like you've got lots of opportunity there and just ah like a lot of creative uh license to give all of the villains like a really cool medieval makeover you know um i know how i got these guys batman i uh got hit by a pitchfork
01:14:58
Speaker
got stuck i stood a little too close to the blacksmith God, yeah. god yeah But that would be funny.
01:15:09
Speaker
ah yeah would be That would be that be a cool way to to do Batman. For sure, yeah. i um i would I would vibe with that. Yeah, Bruce Wayne is a noble in the kingdom.
01:15:21
Speaker
ah wealthy noble. Yeah, He's the richest noble around. He's he's built like five fucking castles. Yeah. Catwoman's the head of the thieves guild or whatever. Oh, yeah. You know, Scarecrow is literally just a Scarecrow in a field. Mr. Mr. Freeze is an ice lich.
01:15:37
Speaker
Ooh, now we're talking. Yeah. Like you you can, you can, oh, like, yo, actually, yo, that actually do a Harlequin Harley Quinn, you know, ah and a Jester Joker.
01:15:49
Speaker
Oh my God. Well, thank God. Holy shit. It, they I think it's there. I think it's possible. Fuck Warner Warner bros. Hello. Hi.
01:16:00
Speaker
We'll implement the freaking nemesis system into, into this too. Bring that over since they've got that copyrighted, you know? It's a good idea.
01:16:12
Speaker
Make it happen. um Yeah. ah My last idea was ah a sort of similar vein. um Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles feels perfect.
01:16:24
Speaker
I mean, yeah that's it's less medieval and more just like feel Japan or feel China. yeah And just go straight up. Thankfully, thanks to like turtles in time and stuff, you could totally do a science school and the turtles just end up in the medieval period start beating up goblins or something.
01:16:41
Speaker
Yep. Yeah, those are kind of one of those IPs where you can just plop the kind of main character into any setting and it sort of inherently works. Same sort of thing with Batman to an extent.
01:16:53
Speaker
so No, absolutely. Actually, no, that wasn't my last one. My last one, and arguably maybe my best one, ah would be and a perfect excuse to revive the Guitar Hero franchise and do Bard Hero.
01:17:08
Speaker
Oh my god. yes so you Yes. yeah Bardcore, all of those songs. Yep. Yep. Bardcore has... Give us a loot controller.
01:17:22
Speaker
Yep, exactly. Exactly. ah You could even have like some sort of a story where you're traveling through this like medieval land trying to gain favor with the the local king.
01:17:37
Speaker
um Playing for different guilds and everything. Who knows? That would be super cool. The only downside is Harmonix is now owned by Epic. Oh, Okay.
01:17:48
Speaker
Like, like that's why Epic got Fortnite festival mode is because it's, it's harmonics. It's big. That is their, what they're just stuck doing for the rest of their life now. Oh, perfect. Great.
01:18:01
Speaker
I love hearing that. Well, I mean, Hey, speaking of, uh, Fortnite, uh, you just rename it. So it's, it's the other Fortnite, uh, and you just make a ah medieval season.
01:18:14
Speaker
If they haven't done that already, I'm sure they probably have. Fall Guys did that. That was like their second season that they made it. It was, yeah. Oh, dude. Arguably, they're one of their best intro or like ah starter screen um themes was the the medieval remix of their theme. Yeah, that takes me back a bit. Yeah, yeah man. yeah The last time I played Fall Guys was when they collaborated Final Fantasy XIV.
01:18:38
Speaker
Did they actually do that? That's hilarious. Yeah, they collaborated with Final Fantasy XIV and added a whole bunch of cosmetics. That was like the one time I got my battle pass all the way up to like level 100.
01:18:49
Speaker
That's hilarious. I maxed it out on FFXIV. Wait, was that the game that we got the bean in the other game? Yeah. the yeah they So they put Final Fantasy cosmetics into all guys nice Fall Guys Fall Guys minigame into Final Fantasy XIV.
01:19:07
Speaker
Oh, that's hilarious. And you could get some a bean minion and a penguin minion and the rhinoceros as a mount.
01:19:19
Speaker
Nice. Like the pink the pink rhino from that one minigame. Yeah, vi gay yeah, yeah. um Yeah, they added that. I i mean, I maxed out that event pretty quickly to get all the rewards.
01:19:31
Speaker
It was all right. You know, for MMO with platforming and latency, it was all right. as As good as they could get it, probably. As good as they could get it. um If you were crazy enough to go for 100 wins to get the title, ah you could do that too. But that was wild.
01:19:49
Speaker
Yeah.
01:19:54
Speaker
I mean, they'll bring it back.

Medieval and Genre-Shifting Game Concepts

01:19:55
Speaker
They bring it back every so often as well. Oh, do they? Nice. Yeah, it's it rotates in and out. Very cool. Yeah. Yeah, those are my yeah those are my picks.
01:20:06
Speaker
those is a good You know what? The Batman one, honestly, sounds like the best one. Yeah, i mean, I feel like that's probably got the most the most potential for sure. And I mean, I think fans, Arkham fans are clamoring for for another game.
01:20:22
Speaker
So get on it, Warner Brothers. Yeah, I want to see ah Madden or NHL go to the video.
01:20:33
Speaker
Medieval hockey? How does that? Medieval hockey. That would be... You're in knight's armor, and it's it's just... Oh, there you go. It's like ice jousting. ah Yeah. Yeah.
01:20:45
Speaker
No, exactly. Instead of any time two players from the opposing teams get into a fight, they have to like clear the ice and how put horses on skates, and they just have to have a jousting match. Oh, my God. the rest of the hockey games the exact same but anytime you have to fight instead of doing a fighting mini game it's a jousting mini game joust yeah to just how is yours skating on it's crazy that'd be funny that'd be funny to see uh sonic in the black knight 2 uh
01:21:19
Speaker
um Oh, yeah. yeah Sonic would be Yeah, Return to Medieval, except make it a good game. ah what would be crazy e crazy taxi would be funny in that setting crazy cart crazy cart it's uh your a horse drawn carriage and you just hear bard core of the offspring that's the sound yes that's the sound yeah dude i would play that in a heartbeat
01:21:52
Speaker
ah That would be, you know what? That would be a pretty, that would be a pretty funny one. A pretty cool one to, to, to see, uh, get medievalified. um Yeah, that's the thing, man. When you look at a bunch of different video games, like fantasy and medieval is a pretty popular setting. Yeah, yeah it's it's pretty popular. make the twist it that is something.
01:22:18
Speaker
What about...
01:22:21
Speaker
what about you do it the other way um i but i put this question to you to you now nick um what series could pull off what doom did but differently so instead of going medieval going into something a setting that's still like completely like far-fetched from what their core series is oh interesting
01:22:47
Speaker
So go from like ah sci-fi to fantasy or fantasy to sci-fi. Or you know sci-fi to sports even. Sports, yeah. like like What like what like jarring thing what's what like what like jarring jumps could some series make?
01:23:06
Speaker
and like And have it work. and like Obviously, like a flagship example of this, you put Mario anywhere and it's bound to work. Well, yeah, yeah, that's the easy answer and that's been proven.
01:23:18
Speaker
um Like we're talking like Frogger levels where, you know, OG Frogger was him just crossing the street, but GameCube Frogger, he's crossing the street to go on an adventure around the world.
01:23:30
Speaker
Right, yeah. Yeah, man. I mean, go full on take Pac-Man and put him, make make a Pac-Man, give Larian Studios the Pac-Man license and do a full like, I don't know, whatever it is, 150 hour at length narrative driven turn-based RPG with Pac-Man characters and feature all of the characters from the Pac-Man animated show.
01:24:03
Speaker
ah You can build out a party.
01:24:07
Speaker
i think I think that would be a pretty preach pretty jarring I mean, to be fair, Pac-Man is getting that jarring jump with Shadow Loplin. They are. They certainly are. I still am so perplexed on that game and its connection to the bonus level episode.
01:24:23
Speaker
Yeah. And which came first. Like, im I'm so confused by that because that episode was like, I was very... put off by that episode and then they showed the game in the switch direct and i'm like oh this actually could be a cool game announced that the game awards initially ah we're all like oh this looks yeah yeah we're like oh it's a new metroidvania boom pac-man dark i'm like what the fuck yeah Yeah, it's so weird. It's weird, but like I guess Pac-Man is doing it. like They're doing what the that that jump of like, oh, little innocent, you need a dark gritty.
01:25:04
Speaker
Yeah. ah Yeah, for sure. um i don't know. I think you could do They kind of did this in like the actual Mario movie, but like just do like a plumbing simulator.
01:25:18
Speaker
game where Mario and Luigi are running a plumbing business but it's in just like hyper realistic New York like Grand Theft Auto level like hyper realistic map hyper realistic New York but cartoony Mario and Luigi exactly exactly yeah that would be funny that would be good that would be good ah
01:25:42
Speaker
trying to think here Final Fantasy Sports i I don't know. I mean, they've given us to the Dissidia games where they put all the worlds into one. Why not give us a Final Fantasy party game?
01:25:55
Speaker
Yeah, that could be cool. i play I would play that. Let me play as... NBA. but I don't know what that looks like, but... It's a lot of bugs.
01:26:10
Speaker
And the S tier character is obviously the Lord of Dung. Mm-hmm. Yep.
01:26:18
Speaker
Because, you know, he always has a ball with him. Exactly, yeah. Yeah, it works. It does. It does.
01:26:29
Speaker
ah You know what? So what we got out of this is we need a medieval Batman game. Yeah. And...
01:26:41
Speaker
That's it. That's all. That's all we're taking from this. Like if any, if, if anything, if anything should take notes from what doom did it's morning brothers. yeah Yeah, exactly.
01:26:54
Speaker
Excellent. Anything else you want to add before we head into the bonus level, Nick? I think we've got this covered, Tony. I think we did a damn fine job. Excellent.
01:27:06
Speaker
Well, with that, it's time for us to start closing things out and head right on in to the bonus level. Crazy lists, great deals, and recapping gaming history. It's all here in the bonus level.
01:27:17
Speaker
And to kick it off, we got our brand new segment this

Game Clash Tournament

01:27:20
Speaker
season. It's Game Clash, a small eight-entry tournament of specific games slash game-related things.
01:27:30
Speaker
And since Mr. No-score-Nick here is ah ah a movie TV guy... I like my movies and TV from occasion. We got some video game adaptations, whether they be movies or TV series. So we got eight ah of those shows slash movies randomly seated.
01:27:49
Speaker
And you're going to decide who wins this bracket. Starting off match one, Devil May Cry versus Detective Pikachu. So I've seen five of these eight entries. I haven't seen neither of these two.
01:28:01
Speaker
Oh, wow. So that one, this one might be a little tough. ah It'll be very biased because I know next to nothing about Devil May Cry, just in general.
01:28:13
Speaker
ah So I'm going to go with Detective Pikachu just because I have a little bit more experience with Pokemon. All right. All right. Match two, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 versus the Mario movie.
01:28:24
Speaker
I'm going Sonic 3. Oh, shit. Mario was good. It was a fun time, but Sonic 3 actually got me to to tear up, and ah all of the like set pieces were awesome, and we got twice as much Jim Carrey, which is what makes those movies work, by and large. Yeah.
01:28:45
Speaker
yeah so And also, Shadow just loves Latinas. Shadow shadow loves Latinas, confirmed. yeah ah Match three, Five Nights at Freddy's versus The Last of Us.
01:28:58
Speaker
This is an insane pairing. This is an absolutely insane pairing. It is. I mean, it's got to be Five Nights at Freddy's, right? Actually,
01:29:12
Speaker
No, no. Every bone in my body wants to say The Last of Us, but picking Five Nights is the funny choice. Okay, so a Five Nights at Freddy's moves on ah Okay, i was speaking of Last of Us, real quick, because I'm assuming you're watching season two.
01:29:29
Speaker
That, yes, I am. What are your thoughts so far? Because I'm hearing ah like I did with the video game. but I'm hearing divisive things about the second season. Look, OK, you know what? First of all, cant we can let's walk back this five nights choice because I can't I can't stick to it. We're putting Last of Us up. I can't. That movie was so bad.
01:29:50
Speaker
It was so bad. I think it might have been my least favorite movie of last year or the year it came out wherever whenever it was. i think it was last... but How am I? been two years I think it was two years ago.
01:30:02
Speaker
Yeah. um But God, that so... It was so bad. The fort building scene just... I... o I can't. Yeah, let's move Last of Us up. Okay, anyways, um I've been hearing a little bit of divisiveness um for the second season as well.
01:30:18
Speaker
um I think, I mean, by and large, like the Colesnotes of it all, I'm enjoying it. I think it's good. I think it's been up a pretty good ah adaptation of the second game so far. So far, I've been very...
01:30:32
Speaker
ah interested on how they're trying to play out the story from the game because it's a very... interesting way they ah tell the story in the game that I feel like would be very hard to ah translate to TV.
01:30:55
Speaker
um So I think they're doing a pretty decent job so far, but it is, I think, veering a lot a little bit off from how they did it in the game, which is fine because, like, I mean...
01:31:07
Speaker
doesn't need to be one-to-one for everything. yeah um I think the choice to um not let Bella Ramsey age up, maybe, like, I feel like it maybe could have improved it a little bit more, but I do think her take on Ellie is a little bit different.
01:31:26
Speaker
Well, and quite significantly different from yeah Ashley Johnson's portrayal. um But I do think it's still, still good. Yeah.
01:31:36
Speaker
So, okay. Yeah. um You see, I'm going to say this. I thought that was because they announced a season three. I thought that season two was going to be a like in between season that would show more development stuff between Joel and Ellie.
01:31:55
Speaker
And they were going to enter the season with Joel getting a hole in one. Right. um Yeah, i I was very speculative on how they were going to do that. Spoilers, I guess, light spoilers for life Last of Us Part II.
01:32:12
Speaker
the game's been The game's been out for longer, so... Yeah, for sure. ah um But, yeah, I feel like... I think...
01:32:26
Speaker
i don't know I just don't know I think the main story they want to tell is the revenge story of Ellie and uh and then Abby's side of it too um And I think, I just don't know, because I don't know, I mean, I haven't really been seeing much about the backlash of ah doing what they did with Joel, ah kind of relatively in line with the game, like pacing-wise, when they decided to do it.
01:33:04
Speaker
so I mean like he might have been able to go either way, but I think maybe there could have been an argument as well for it undermining the way they wanted to tell the story the first time around. And I think honoring that kind of structure um and the core story of it being that whole kind of revenge is a cycle, never ending cycle, I think was their top priority.
01:33:33
Speaker
And I think their, Doing that relatively well so far, um but we'll see how it goes in the long run. and Yeah, that we will. I think it might end up being more, my theory is, it might be that they end this season once Abby gets to the theater, and then season three will be Abby's side.
01:33:58
Speaker
Oh, okay. And they the end they will just kind of honor ah or like mimic the kind of framing and pacing of the game a lot more closely than maybe some might have anticipated.
01:34:14
Speaker
and Okay, yeah. um But like i said, we'll have to wait and see. Yeah, that we will. That we absolutely will. But yeah, I'm not putting Five Nights at Freddy's above The Last of Us this. There's no way in hell I can't do it. Not even for the joke.
01:34:28
Speaker
That's fair. Match 4, Castlevania versus Fallout. So this is kind of a ah mix. I have not seen Castlevania. I've heard nothing but amazing things. But I have seen Fallout. So, I mean, if we're going on the bias train, then I'll i'll just have to go with Fallout.
01:34:45
Speaker
All right. All right. We now go into the semifinals. Detective Pikachu versus Sonic 3.
01:34:53
Speaker
Sonic 3. Like, I mean, it's it's sort of a similar thing. Castlevania versus Fallout. I've seen one, haven't seen the other.
01:35:03
Speaker
Last of Us versus Fallout. You know, The Last of Us, I think it's mainly, it's really because I did really enjoy the first season.
01:35:17
Speaker
Uh... But I still, it's really just more of a preference thing at this point. um And I feel like if I were to look, plus they're also such different shows too, um just tonally.
01:35:33
Speaker
And I feel like if i had to pick between the two, it would be Fallout. Just because I feel like The Last of Us, I will usually, unless I'm really just not in the mood to kind of participate actively in that story and play it myself, then I would watch the show.
01:35:54
Speaker
um But if I'm choosing between the show and the game to experience that story, it'll still be the game. So, yeah, I would pick Fallout. Okay, and the final... So that means... Sonic the Hedgehog 3 versus Fallout 3.
01:36:09
Speaker
Yeah, I mean, i i really liked Sonic 3. I really did. But yeah, I've got to give it to Fallout for sure. Okay, and Fallout takes this week's Game Clash.
01:36:23
Speaker
Incredible. They dropped he dropped a mini nuke on the competition. They did. How many of those have you seen, Tony? Detective Pikachu on a Plane.
01:36:35
Speaker
Okay. Is it a good plane movie? It's a good played movie. Yeah, actually it was. That's it. That's the only one you haven't seen Sonic 3? I still haven't seen Sonic. Dude, you've got to see Sonic 3. I've seen the Mario movie. I forgot about the Mario movie. right i know i I need to see all the Sonic movies.
01:36:55
Speaker
You haven't seen any of them? I haven't seen any of them. Yeah, that was my that was one of my um Christmas break things. I caught up for Sonic and then went and saw three in theaters. Three is definitely the best one. did not. i I've been busy playing the games instead of watching them.
01:37:14
Speaker
That's understandable, man. I've been busy playing the games and watching Digimon.

01:39:04
Speaker
Oh, God. That's a big question. I mean, the easy answers for me probably are Halo, Spider-Man 3 could be announced, although I'm kind of actually not.
01:39:19
Speaker
I don't need that in the next year or That can take its sweet time. What else? A new Ori game. That would be great. I would love to get a new Ori game.

Cozy Game Recommendation and Social Media Sharing

01:40:35

It'll be the game I've been streaming, and that is Potion Craft Alchemist Simulator. It's a cozy game, I guess technically a simulation game.
01:40:46
Speaker
um It's a game where you just are alchemist crafting potions for the local townsfolk in your kingdom that you reside in.
01:40:58
Speaker
And you're kind of building up ah your old master's ah alchemy shop. ah researching new potions, unlocking new like effects and everything, combining them to create potions for whatever ah the kind of customer wants.
01:41:15
Speaker
You can't, there's like a ah bartering system. There's a popularity system and a reputation system where you can kind of lean more into the ah good side or the bad side.
01:41:27
Speaker
um And there's a bunch of like really complicated recipes that you can try and unlock ah to become the ultimate alchemist. And I've just been having a blast with it.
01:41:38
