Starting off, there was a Kirby Air Riders direct ah from Mr. Sakurai himself. And man, oh man, was it a great 45 minutes of curt nothing but Kirby Air Ride.

Oh, this was fantastic. So starting off, going over everything that was announced. ah The main theme of the game has lyrics. It's called Starlet Journey, and you can listen to it now on the Nintendo Music app.

ah Unlike Kirby Air Ride, this game being called Air Riders means you actually get to choose your rider. um Kirby has four skins so far that we know of. um He might have more colors that you unlock. but We do not know.

But the other characters in the game that you can play as are Meta Knight, King Dedede, Bandana Waddle Dee, Chef Kawasaki, Cappy the Mushroom, Magalore, Gooey, the Waddle Dew, Knuckle joe Joe, Susie, and Starman.

ah Then they went over, obviously, the controls of the game. Just like the original Kirby Air Ride, it is one button to do everything. One button to charge, one button to break, one button to drift.

ah It plays exactly like the original game, um with the difference being they added one extra button to the game, the special button, which will unleash a special move when the gauge is full, and each character has their own unique special attack.

Uh... And they've also added drafting in the game, where if you're you can draft off of other players' star slide, which is very, very cool. Then they went over some of the machines that are in the game.

These are your stars, including the warp star, the return of the wing star, shadow star, wagon star, wheelie bike, bulk star, swerve star, turbo star, slick star, rocket star, and rex wheelie, um and the compact star.

And then some new stars, the paper star, the chariots, the tank star, the but And the Battle Chariots. Those are what they've shown so far.

um There are probably going to be more stars. They'll probably have the all of the other returning stars from air Ride in there. um But that's just what they've shown us so far. ah Every character will be able to use copy abilities just like Kirby.

While Kirby inhales the enemies, all of the other characters have what is called just the capture command. And that is how they will be able to use all of the capture abilities, including fire, cutter, sword, bomb, wheel, Mike, and plasma.

um Ice is probably in there too. They didn't show off ice, but ice is probably in there. um They also showed off two new capture abilities, jet and steel ball. As for courses, it's a whole bunch of new courses. you got Floria Fields, Cavernous Corners, Siberian Highway, Mount Amber Falls, and Waveflow Waters with the five that were shown off.

There will probably be a couple more than that. And then they went over the modes. First, the main mode, Air Ride. It's your racing mode. Six players can compete. um Up to six players, riders per race. You can adjust the laps, game speed, and much more.

And then the big reason that people love Kirby Air Ride so much, the City Trial. It's back and better than ever. It's set on a floating island called Skaia, which features various different zones, the flower field, the urban district, ah the plaza, the caves, the subway station, the forest, coliseum, an underground mall, and the sea.

Just like Sidious City Trial in the base game, you collect stats, swap machines, and you play a various stadium game at the end. ah Unlike the OG game, you can play um with up to 16 players in City Trial, eight ah through local wireless play.

um You can swap a machines with a special body instead of having to get off and dismount to get on the new star, although you can still dismount. ah You can reserve items ah different than copy abilities. There are different item weapons that you can collect, and you can reserve items um if you collect two items back to back.

um There are various events that can happen throughout a majesty trial, including a short race or dust up derby happening in the middle of it. um And then there's various field events like Krakow appearing, Dinoblade having the its reign, meteors, secret rooms, giant pillars, giant items, portals, flight becoming easier, and Gordos falling from the sky.

And then, of course, there are all the various stadium events, um including Target Flight, Kirby Melee, Air Glider, Drag Race, Dust Up Derby, ah Single Race, and then the new two new ah stadium events, Skydive and Gourmet Race. There might be more, again, for what we saw. Those are the only new things that we saw.

um You can also now have an option to vote for one of four choices for the stadium game instead of it just being pre-decided. ah you And then with how stadiums work, um the it's divided up into eight players per stadium instance.

If there are more players than eight, then it creates a separate instance ah for the remaining players. And that's how that works. And then at the very end of it, they teased what people are just suspecting, maybe a story mode to the game as Dark Matter ah classic Kirby villain was teased as as well, um but it's like he was fused with his wheelie bike, so potential that this is either just the new Dark Matter design, or there's a story mode cooking, and Sakurai is ready to go all in on this.
