We are in Brazil after two legs there. Yeah. And we start off with some drama again, this time with star and Kelly and Christie. Yeah. It's very bizarre. It's really weird. Yeah.

And so the issue is Kelly and Chrissy, they are like, we are just like, we don't even know why she would do something like this, blah, blah, blah. And it's like, what are they even talking about? And so apparently Kelly or Chrissy had their sports bra washed and like hanging on it was a balcony to dry and fell off the balcony and stern just happened to be outside or walking by at that time. Yeah. So they thought that she threw it off. Yeah.

And they're like, Star, did you push my sports bra off the ledge? And she said, no, she did it. And they're like, we don't believe her and we don't trust her. And it just seems like something she would do. And we, it was very weird. They get so mad about it. And it's like, probably the wind. I'm like, I know. Have you heard of a gust of wind? And also she didn't even like take it. You still have it. Yeah. You just have to walk down the stairs and get it. It just fell off the ledge.

Ken and Tina are first to leave at 1251 AM and it says fly to La Paz, Bolivia. So La Paz is 12,000 feet above sea level. And it could make it really hard for some of these teams to be able to breathe. um Once they're there, make their way to the statue of Simone Bolivar in time for the morning newspaper and scour the classified ads for the next clue.

And when Marissa and Brooke are leaving the at their time, it's that they say, every single leg we've had to start in the last place because we've come in last the leg before.

Yeah, and it doesn't even say what time. And it doesn't even say what time they land. It doesn't even show both flights landing. Who is on each one. Yeah. It's really weird. Yeah.

But it's like when they're at high altitudes, the race, they give them these water bottles with this weird looking liquid in it. put

Yeah, it's very high altitude. We are in Utah and we are at high altitude, but we are double. Yeah. Our hometown is like only half of what this altitude is. The highest point of Utah is that the salvation King's peak is 12,000 and their city is at 12,000. So yeah, that is very high. high. Probably be better off than these people that are from San Diego and some of these other places yeah though.

Yes, so they land and they all get to this ah statue and they realize that it's going to be an overnight stay and they get to the statue and there's this lady handing out blankets and they all have to like camp out together on the street.

and the nick And Nick decides to not confront, but like address Kelly and Christy. He wants to open a discourse is what he says. And he's like i don't like, there's no reason to be angry. Like she wouldn't have done something like that. And Like we can just move forward, you know, like without the fighting and they're like, well, it's not for no reason. And he's all well I think it is. She didn't do that. And I don't know why you guys are upset. And that they just don't even come to ah agreement or conclusion. They're just kind of like, OK, they're just set on not being happy with them and liking them. And he just says, OK, you know, he tried. Who was the team last episode that?

Yeah, so upset I mean, maybe there's like something that we are not seeing. Yeah, but it seems like this is just like yeah, the sports brothing is really weird also That's just so much a waste of energy I know, like, can do you not have anything else to worry about? Yeah. If that happens to me, I'd be like, oh my gosh, how embarrassing. Thanks for finding my sports bra. I um don't like this person and I'm going to hold a vendetta against them. Just very weird. um The city is in west central Bolivia. It's southeast of Lake Titicaca. It is in a canyon um with a bull-like depression, part of the Amazon basin, and it's surrounded by the mountains of the how to Altiplano. Its height is roughly about 12,000 feet above sea level and due to its altitude it has an unusual subtropical highland climate with rainy summers and dry winters and it's pretty cold there. It was founded in 1548 by the Spanish conquistador Alonso de Mendoza at the site and of of an Incan settlement.

Detour Decisions: Musical March vs. Bumpy Ride

All righty, so while the teams are waiting for the newspaper truck to pull up, some of the teams find local people on the street and they're like, will you follow us throughout the day or help us get from to this place? We'll pay you. But some teams don't. um The newspaper truck pulls up and they all rush and grab a couple of newspapers. Annoyingly. Yeah. I'm like, dude, like let him Yeah, put the newspapers down and so they're supposed to look through the classifieds and there's a black and white square that says ah What does it say? um It says Plaza Murillo Navaras Navaras hat shop. Yeah or something like that

go to some, yeah. So Andrew and Dan actually find the clue first. And yeah, they're supposed to make their way to the Plaza Murillo and then Nevada's hat shop and buy the traditional hat to get your next clue. Yeah, called the cholita. And some local people tell them that it's close enough to walk and some people tell them to get in a cab. The ones that are walking are really struggling to breathe. Yeah. And also uphill. Yeah. I think to this place.

And Burke and Marissa are the last ones to find the clue. But when they get to that hat shop, the clue there is a detour and the choices are Musical March or Bumpy Ride.

um Who was the first one there? Terrence and Sarah? Yeah. No, and Andrew and Dan. Oh, I think they got there at the same time. Yeah. Yeah. OK. So Musical March. um is travel on foot to two plazas several blocks apart and collect musicians and to form a band. Make your way to the Plaza Abarroa to deliver the band to the bandleader. And then bumpy ride is make your way on foot to Mercado de Las Brujas and choose a pair of locally crafted bicycles. Using the provided maps, take the bicycles on a harrowing bone rattling trip down the cobblestone streets to Plaza Abarroa.

I think I would have booked musical march. Yeah. Even though Mercado de la Spruja sounds fun. Yeah. I don't like I don't like the words harrowing and bone rattling bike trip. Yeah. So Andrew and Dan, they choose musical march and Terrence and Sarah choose They choose musical march yeah at first, and but they get in a taxi.

And as Terrence and Sarah are driving, they read their clue and see that they're supposed to do by foot. So they go back and they changed their detour choice. Cause I guess it's closer. I don't know. Yeah, I don't know.

Marissa and Brooke choose Musical March. So they were the last ones to get the clue, but they're like the fourth team to get to the- Yeah, I think a bunch of the taxis got stuck in some traffic. And and Ken and Tina choose Bumpy Ride. Kelly and Christy choose Bumpy Ride. As they read their clue, they're like, okay, let's get in the taxi. And one of them was like, no, we have to do it by foot C. We're actually reading our clue now. I'm like, oh, good.

Aja and Ty choose Bumpy Ride. um So the only two teams that chose Musical March were Brooke and Marissa and Andrew and Dan. and Andrew and Dan, they get to that plaza first and they have to pick two band members at the first plaza and they like start walking to the next one and the band members are walking so slowly and it's like frustrating them. and Yeah, you can tell they are so annoyed. Marissa and Brooke are right behind them and ah so mike and Mark and Bill get to the bikes first and these bikes are like literally carved out of a tree. yeah they're just like very rudimentary is that the right word yeah like wood very like i was like do they even have breaks yeah some of them look like the breaks don't even work yeah um they don't have petals nope they're yeah they have to like scoot them along if they're going straight or uphill that's like they have to do it like a scooter almost yeah like flint stones

No i didn't but yeah there's a u-turn ahead so teams are nervous and want to get there first um and people who are on these bikes really struggle with the altitude and some of them struggle with going too fast and not having breaks or the bumpiness is really I did hear Nick say, use the brakes. So I think they do have them, but how well they work, I don't know. Yeah. And like they were going down some pretty steep hills. Kelly or Christy wipes out twice, twice. Like and the second time was pretty hard as you almost hit another lady on the street because she's wearing her helmet because she literally hit her head on the wall of a building. So, yeah, it's good they have a helmet. But Kelly also cart calls Nick and Starr their arch rivals at this point. Yeah.

I know I wonder why because it's like did they tell them to walk slowly and Were the first two that they picked just really slow guys. Yeah I don't know. Like why were they so slow? Well, Marissa and Brooke, they were like, we were like dancing and having fun and like singing with a band and it made them have some pep in their stuff. And Andrew and Dan were very like miserable. And some cab drivers know exactly where it is, and some really struggle, some stop for gas, some overheat. So the the pattern, what am I trying to think? The grouping really changes on the drive to this place.

But Ken and Tina arrive first and it's a roadblock and says who's ready to pick a fight. So the team member must hand the hat they bought to a woman known as ah fighting Cholita and put on a wrestling costume. Then they'll go to a private ring outside to learn a wrestling routine made up of six moves. When they feel ready they'll go inside to the main ring with their Cholita and perform the routine. If the referee feels they successfully execute all six moves, they'll get the clue. If they get even one of them wrong, they have to go back outside and practice again and then they can start over. So Ken is going to do the roadblock and Marissa and Mark are right there, um kind of right behind him.

So that, you know, they're like doing their little thing, learning the moves. Ken goes in, he's the first one to try. Tina gets a real kick out of it. yeah and It's like funny. it's He sees that it's a woman. He's like, Oh, yeah. He was not expecting that. But he does pass on his first try and gets the clue. And it says, what does it say?

And they're like, do you have the clue? And most people are like, what are you talking about? They're like, okay, this is not right.

And so all these teams, like I said, had passed the first try. Some of them have to do it a couple of times. But when Mark is practicing for his second attempt, he gets really, really dizzy and lightheaded. So he has to sit there and do like an oxygen treatment. Yeah. And that takes up a lot of time.

So Marissa does her second attempt and she passes. Mark does his second attempt and he doesn't pass again. So each time they don't pass, they have to go back outside the ring or the arena and practice in the outdoor ring again, then go back in. So that takes a lot of time to not pass, go back out, practice, wait for a team to finish, go back in the ring. I think two can do it at a time inside. There's two rings, but yeah.

And all the teams are making their way in the taxi to the pit stop on the way Christy is telling Kelly that Aja told her that star as Star asked them to you turn them and she's like, I'm going to confront her.

yeah they're like we have to stay in this so that we can yeah talk to them because they do know that they left last and Christy like Kelly was like we're gonna be out of it and Christy was like no don't say that stay positive did you see how hard Kelly rolled her eyes at Christy when she said that no it was so funny she was like It's just so annoyed that Christy said that. And Kelly says, if we're going home, I'm just going to scream obscenities at Star. It's not her fault. Yeah. but And it's like, why though? Because she ah she wanted to U-turn you guys to play a game. like You're taking it so personally. They're so personally offended by Star. It's just crazy. For seemingly no reason. Yeah.

Like with that much on the line and Kelly and Christie actually did like, cause they were standing on the mat together and Phil said, you guys are officially eliminated. but yeah i mean they didn't want to be eliminated yeah so they were maybe hoping it would be a non-elimination but i'm glad it wasn't because it was a u-turn even though nobody used the u-turn yeah but yeah if it would have ended up that that was the circumstances that somebody was u-turned and then saved by an elimination that would have bugged me i think if anybody did the u-turn it would have been impossible for them to come back from that like those both of those detours were time consuming yeah i don't think you could have And nobody used it. So that would have also changed the outcome. Yeah. And I think at one point, like when they were, after they had realized that their mistake, they were like, Oh, we should have you turned somebody. I know. But even with them that far ahead, I don't know if it would have made, I don't know.
