Detour Challenges: Bride and Snowplow

So the teams arrive and they're all getting in taxis to go to this place where they're getting their next clue. And Jamie and Kara and Margie and Luke are the teams to arrive first.

And the clue is a detour and the choices are Russian bride or Russian snowplow. So in from Russian Bride, they have to choose a car with a four-speed manual transmission known as Lada.

Find a Soviet-era apartment complex and search for one of the waiting brides. Once they've found the bride, teams must figure out how to drive her across town to a church where her groom is waiting.

The photographer will snap their wedding photo and give them the groom will give them their next clue. And then in Russian snowplow is they choose a lot of these manual transmission cars and drive themselves downtown to a stadium and take turns operating a cumbersome snowplow through a training course.

And they are kind of working together to get directions. Tammy and Victor and Margie and Luke and Jamie akaa and Kara. And so Tammy and they they all stop and ask for directions. Oh my gosh, my throat.

Sorry. um... um Tammy and Victor get directions from somebody else and just take off. And the other teams really did not like that because they were... it's not really they just like took off. It was like Jamie and Cara and Margie and Luke were ahead of them and they pulled into like a gas station and Tammy and Victor didn't pull all the way into the gas station and they saw a taxi driver kind of on the side of the road and just like rolled down their window yeah and asked.

And it wasn't easy to get into the gas station or get like their attention. And so they just like kept going. Yeah. It wasn't like they did anything super shady. No. And I think if it only would have happened once, it would have been fine. But then they stopped again. And Tammy, like somebody comes to Margie and Luke's car and points in a direction. And then Tammy and Victor saw that person point. And so they took off in that direction.

Yeah. Like that, like really loud and annoying and rude. I was like, oh my gosh. Yeah. So they do that again here. these guys These guys standing there don't know English. Yeah, and they're not part of the race course. Yeah, and they're asking him, is this is this Snow Plow or whatever? And they're getting like so mad at them and so just like upset. Yeah.

But Tammy and Victor start doing it first. Victor plows first and then Tammy does it. And it's like just this huge machine. And it like pulls the snow up this like conveyor belt kind of thing.

Yeah. so meanwhile, Mel and Mike and Keisha and Jen and Jodi and Christy have found their bride and are trying to um make their way to the churches now. So, Tammy and Victor are the first to finish the snowplow ah task. And the clue says to drive to.

And Mark and Michael arrive at the snowplows and they do it really quickly. So it seemed like the snowplow was the quicker one. Mm-hmm. And um when they were all choosing which detour to do Mike from Mike and Mel, he was like, I choose detours based on what's the funnest.

I'd much rather be finding this bride than plowing snow. Yeah. And I'm like, that's just that is definitely his personality. Yeah. Maybe not the smartest strategy, but okay. Yeah.

um So, Mark and ah all the people who did snowplow are done Mel and Mike finish the detour. Keisha and Jen are kind of having a hard time driving and getting directions to the church.

With their bride in the car and Chrissy and Jodi go to the wrong church. Yeah, they they found somebody to follow and that person took them to the wrong place. Yeah. So that first set of teams, the first group with like Margie and Luke, Tammy and Victor and tim Jamie and Kara get to the library and it's a roadblock.

And it says, who has stamina and absolutely no shame? This one would be hard. Yes. For us being on the race, it would probably just be, again, one of those situations that's like, who did the last one? Okay, the next one's doing the next one.

so they're not naked, but it says the partner, one partner must pair with a local runner They have to warm up for 10 minutes and then strip to their underwear and run 1.4 miles to the ballet and opera theater where their teammate is waiting for them.

And Keisha and Jen finally get to the church and then Jodi and Christy are not far behind them. They're a bride. So she looked so relieved yeah to get to that church because she was just like being taken all around town. Yeah. And you could tell that she like understood English because she would chuckle at them when they would say something funny. Uh-huh.

And. And she kind of like helped him out a little bit like. When they went to the wrong church, she was like, no. Yeah. Which I'm like, are you supposed to be doing that? mike was like mike is driving and he's also navigating and mel was like i couldn't get myself across this town with four people and a guide dog yeah so what are you doing mike is driving and navigating sitting there himself in the back just saying funny things in the back seat yeah it's working for them i guess like why doesn't he drive i wonder um I thought it was funny that like it seems like Luke was running faster than Margie's taxi was even going. Yeah. It's like she almost didn't make it by the time he got there. Yeah. Because he was the first one to be done. And I was like, is she even there? but she.

Anyways, so when they get to this theater, their teammate is waiting for them just outside like the front main doors and they run inside still just in their underwear and the pit stop is inside.

So team number one are Margie and Luke and they win a trip to St. Lucia. And then Tammy is number two. So she passed Kara. And as she's running up to the ah to Victor, Jamie's like, where's Kara?

And then, so these last two teams, like k Christine, Jody, and Keisha and Jen, they finish the detour. They're on the way to the library. Keisha driving the car, like stalls the car. driving. Who don't seem like they're out of shape, but just not. They're not runners. Professional athletes, basically.
