So they get in taxis and head there. um Kelly and Christie depart next at 902 a.m. Tony and Dallas at 910. Terence and Sarah at 931. Drew and Andrew at 944 and then Ken and Tina at 951.

So this is pretty close race starting out. It's only an hour difference. And they have $21 for this leg. And Nick is starting to get to that apartment complex first. Their driver seemed to know exactly where it was. And that clue there is a roadblock and it says, who's ready for a colorful experience?

So the teams have to take part in a holy festival. They must make their way to one of three ladders by going through a crowd of people pelting each other and the racers with powdered dye and water in the festival's tradition. Then they must climb the ladder and search through hundreds of envelopes marked try again to identify one of only six envelopes that says the amazing race and that envelope contains the clue.

Yeah. So there's like tall buildings of apartments that encircle this middle area that has just like a courtyard and open park area. And like when Nick and star first get there, it's not like super crazy because they're the first ones to arrive, but star does the roadblock. And so she has to like run through the crowd, climb the ladder. Like we said,

And while she's up on the top of the ladder, they like start throwing paint and the dye dust at her. yeah and so It's basically like dyed cornstarch. And we know this because there's the Holi festival. So I think it's the largest Holi festival outside of India.

literally happens like in our backyard. Yeah, like I could throw a rock and hit it. Yeah, not really, but kind of. So there's a Krishna temple here in the town that we live in, and they do it every year, and it's really fun. like I've been a few times, huh and it's like the last weekend of March, so the weather is always iffy, but I feel like it always ends up being a really nice day.

not the last two years yeah i was gonna say at the every once in a while it it's like snowy or rainy or really really cold but I remember going in high school quite a bit. Yeah. um star does it. When they're at the top of the ladder, they're throwing all the colors at them. So it's kind of like distracting and hard to see. And she you have to search through all these envelopes or some of different colors that they say try again, try again, try again. And then there's one that's, or like six that say the amazing race. So you rip it off, go down, run back through the crowd and get to your partner.

So it doesn't take that long for. Yeah. She's done before anybody else even gets there. And she doesn't get that dirty. She was like the cleanest one. Yeah. And it was dirtier than her yeah why teammate is just standing there. They all get like pelted with.

It was kind of like right as they were walking out. Somebody just threw like a big handful of pink paint right in Nick's face. so Yeah. And um Kelly and Christy were the second to depart, but Tony and Dallas get there before them. And Dallas does the detour and finishes quickly. And then Kelly and Christy arrive and Kelly does it.

And this is just so interesting. So she's like, okay, I guess I'll do it. So she gets ready to go. She runs through the crowd and she doesn't even climb up the ladder. She turns around and runs back to Christy and she's completely.

she they drenched were not nice to her they got her so she's like i can't breathe i can't breathe she i can't even get to the ladder i don't know what to do and they're like and she's like and chris he's like you can do it you can do it just go pull an envelope and bring it back and they read the clue that she had to run through the crowd climb the ladder grab one envelope just anyone bring down run back to k christie and open it and see if it was the right one Hashtag, read your clue. These girls struggle. like They don't even look at, it because it says try again on the envelope. Like, would you not even look at that and be like, oh, that's not. On the outside of the envelope. Yeah, it's not even on the inside. Yeah, and you read, you should have read in the clue that there are, you need one of six envelopes that say the amazing race. Yeah. And if you climb up the ladder and you can see on the outside of the envelope that it says try again, well, don't grab that one.

but yeah So she does that several times, pulls an envelope, runs back. Each time Chrissy like gives her water and she's just like dying. She put like a handkerchief over her mouth and like some sunglasses and a hat on which I think helped.

Cause that powder can like, if it gets in your eyes, yeah it's weird. So it was terrible for her, but she read the clue. They didn't read the clue. yeah Her fault. And so Andrew and Dan get there and Dan does it and he does it quickly. And Ken and Tina get there and Ken does it and gets it quickly. And so Kelly and Chris, you're still doing it. And if you didn't, if you saw Terrence and Sarah, yeah.

And if you saw three teams go past you and get it easily, then wouldn't you be like, Oh, I must be doing something wrong. Oh, Kelly did find it right before Ken and Tina arrived. So I guess two teams went past her. But yeah, it's like, and at one point she's running so fast that she trips and falls. She puts it hard. Yeah. But Kelly or Christie is even saying like, go back again, one envelope at a time. Let's do this. And I'm like, no, not one envelope at a time. Yeah.

Yeah, like completely from head to toe when she's talking like the rest of the leg She just you can see like her white teeth and the white her white eyeballs It's crazy And when Ken and Tina get there Ken does it and Tina she just does this. She's so controlling. She's like yelling at him and Climb up there. You have to look for the clue. Look for the clue. He's like, what do you think I'm looking for? yeah he's like That is exactly what I'm doing. Like, what do you think I'm doing up here on the top of this ladder? Looking through envelopes. Like she just just has to say something always. She's not like so annoying. She's not the most annoying person we've had on the race, but it's just- She just like doesn't trust him. No, she like will not.

So she was wearing a white t-shirt and her hair is bleach, bleach, blonde. Yeah. And it is lime green.

Yeah. Like his face was pink. they They looked so ridiculous. Yeah. It was kind of funny. And they all had to get in their cars. Another thing that Kelly and Chris Kelly and Christie kind of messed up on is they didn't tell their taxi to wait for them. And everybody else did. And so they had a hard time finding somebody to take them for a ride because they looked so dirty and crazy. And they didn't ask their taxi driver to wait for them. And everybody else did.

But yeah, so. Oh, and Terence said that was the most physically demanding thing I've ever done. He's so like. He has said that before. Dramatic about everything. Yeah. um Oh, it was the the haka in New Zealand when he was like that was this most terrifying thing that's ever happened to me. Yeah Like you didn't have to touch them. They just look at their face. Yeah, he's an interesting person. Yeah, he's very dramatic um So when they get to oh I don't think I read the clue after they got this Oh, um, the bird hospital. Yeah.

We didn't make your way to old deli to charity birds hospital in at Jan Mandir. This is a haven for injured birds. Search through the cages to find the next clue. So Nick and star get there first. And the clues just like in a cage at the bottom of the cage, not that hard to find. And it's a detour and the choices are bleary eyed or teary eyed.

And I didn't write these down. Yeah. She was at my house. We were trying to watch this episode with three, our three kids running around, playing with our dad, playing with grandpa, roughhousing. And just, I was like, are we in lots of emotions and loud noises? Yeah. It was a Everybody, everybody thought somebody was going to take their toy and yeah, but I brought these toys for me.

um From street level, the teams will follow a power line, keeping track of numbered tags that sporadically appear. Then they must find a man with a sewing machine and give him the list of numbers. If the numbers are correct, he'll direct them to the shop across the street where they'll plug in a musical Ganesha.

to receive the next clue. It's like an elephant-shaped lamp, basically. yeah And then Phil adds this. He says, the small numbers are easy to miss among the tangled wires, but teams with good eyes and the ability to concentrate could find the speed of their success shocking because it's a power line.

and then teary-eyed is they make their way to a spice market and find the marked stall. From there, from there they'll pick up two 40-pound bags of dried chilies and deliver them on foot a quarter mile to the Sawan, Kumar, and Sons. Then they'll use a mortar and pestle to make enough chili powder To fill a container to the designated line and then Phil's addition here is the task seems straightforward but close contact with the powerful chilies could be physically painful and teams banking on brawn over brains could find themselves literally and figuratively burned. Yeah so I think we would choose Blary-Eyed.

At least I think so. They both are, they both are hard. to Yeah. So it would be kind of a hard choice, but to carry something like a quarter mile. So they have to, no matter which detour they choose, they have to take a little tuk tuk ride to like the beginning of the yeah detour.

So it seems like they're the similar distance away. But like you said, if you can find the numbers, you can get done really quickly. The other one, you know, you have to walk and, and grind, grind the chilies. Yeah. So I would choose the other one. So this detour is really hard because it's a really busy street and there are hundreds and hundreds of power lines just going crisscross in all directions yeah through the building. They were just like looking for any numbers and and you know, any random numbers, like all the numbers on the street, the pace. So yeah, Tony and Dallas and Nick and Starr work together and

And they're like looking through the cages and Terence starts saying, well, maybe it's underneath their food. Under the birdseed. Do you want to go in there? Do you think you want to go in there and check? Do you want to go in there? And Sarah's like, OK. I guess so. So she walks into this cage full of birds and there's just bird food on the ground in like these bowls. And she digs through it with her hand or picks it up and looks underneath and all this stuff. And Terence is just standing outside. and

move over there look under there blah blah blah and she's ah i'm like why don't you go in there yeah but he was so like do you want to go in there do you want to check and it's not there they're looking i think they've done that a few times as well they're thinking too hard harder than it is yeah it was pretty open and obvious yeah and so they eventually find it and they choose teary eyed And they're like, this is what we wanted. We want the brains, the brawn, like we're doing the physical task. Let's get to it. Yeah. And they're excited about that. Well, not excited, but they think they're going to do really well. And then Andrew and Dan arrive, they choose bleary eyed. And this is when Ken and Tina arrive and see that that is their speed bump. Yep. So I didn't write this. one um I don't think I did either, but I think I can find it.

I wrote some of it, but it just might not be completely all the details. Yeah, they have to like go to a stall and help serve holy water. Yeah, to the ah the Sikh temple. Make your way to the Sikh temple and volunteer to serve water holy water to hundreds of paint patrons and until no more temple goers desire water and then you can move on.

Our dad was watching this with us and he was laughing because when they were showing the demonstration the guy giving him the water his fingers were just like he was holding several cups at once and pouring the water and it was like poured over his hand with his fingers inside the cup and they were dipping the water out of like this dirty yeah yeah like a sink thing and yeah he he was like i hope they don't drink that the well the players don't drink it but the people drink it um anyway so they do that and they work really well together they like keep a positive attitude during this and they finish and oh this is where it's not every day you get served water from the incredible hulk oh yeah

And so then they head back to the bird sanctuary to get the clue for the detour. In the meantime, Kylie and Christy got there and they chose bleary-eyed as well, which is the number one. But they see they stay in their pedicab. It's like the bike cabs and they just have him kind of like taking them around at first. So all the other teams did this on foot and they had their driver probably go up and down that street a lot of times. yeah And I wonder how much they paid him for that or like what yeah he asked for.

But yeah, so this is when Andrew and Dan and Kelly and Christy both, they don't look at the small numbers on the tags on the actual line, the power line. They're looking at like all the numbers on all the signs on the street. And there's a lot. And so they were like writing down all these numbers. And when you get to the end, you have to give it to the guy and he in the order that you saw the numbers.

and they keep getting told no no no no no this guy was funny too he's like he um like if you were looking too close he like would hide the paper and yeah he was just kind of being silly playing into it a lot yeah so they were really frustrated and andrew and dan walk up to kelly and christie and they're like do you guys want to work together like what are we going to do and they both said well we feel like it's Like it's between the two of us for last. Yeah. This is the last option. Last choice. Like I don't, I don't think so. We're not going to work with you guys. And then Andrew and Dan are like, okay. Yeah. But it's true. Like if you're the last two teams, yeah you know, it's going to be an elimination because it was just a non elimination. Yeah.

So I don't think you're suffering that bad. Incredible suffering. He's like, this is nothing. You guys are babies.

And they are team number three. yeah So while Kelly and Christy and Andrew and Dan are searching the streets still, Ken and Tina show up and they immediately spot the correct numbers, the small tags. And they get to the end and they just barely see like Andrew and Dan told no, Kelly and Christy told no. They walk up to the guy and he says yes and they get the clue.

So they did it in one try. Yeah. And Andrew and Dan and Kelly and Chrissy have probably been walking up and down the street for a long time. Probably a couple of hours at this point. Yeah. And they're very frustrated. This was another point when the but guy with the sewing machine was really funny because or Tina was like up in his face like telling him the numbers that were on the paper. She wrote him down. He was sitting down and she was hovering right over his shoulder right behind him like looking right at the paper right into his ear and he literally takes his hand and pushes her out of the way. Not like hard or like shoved. No just like moves her and she's like why did he push me? Why did he push me?

And it was really annoying. Like I would be annoyed too if she was literally hovering down my neck. Like I can read lady. yeah But that's just who she is. But they get passed off and they um end up being team number five.

And they're like, and Andrew like holds up the paper and he's like, we you have like 12, 12, 12, 15. Like, and she's like, what are these numbers? Like, she's like, let me show you what you're looking for. And they literally like take them and walk over to one of them and point it out to them. And they're like, oh my gosh, thank you. And she says, you owe us. And then they leave. And then she's like, that might've been stupid for us to do, but.

It's like scary to think, I think they knew Kelly and Chrissy were still looking too. Yeah. Yeah, she'll cash in on that. So at the same time that Dan and Andrew realize this, because of Ken and Tina, Kelly and Christy on their own are like, oh my gosh, look, these are the numbers we're trying to find. Yeah. So they're both doing this at the same time correctly now. Yeah.

and then so dan and andrew finished just before kelly and christie yeah and they both get in taxis and it looks like um like one of the angles of the camera look like they're like not that far they're like within sight of each other yeah like dan and andrew are maybe like four or five vehicles in front of kelly and christie yeah so it's like And they're stuck in traffic. Yeah. Yeah. So who's it going to be? But it ends up being that Dan and Andrew are team number five. Yeah. And they probably would have been eliminated if it wasn't for Ken and Tina. Oh, yeah. Because course he figured it out themselves yeah and Andrew and Dan did it.

I just, I felt like they were just so worried about all the other teams and like they were so worried about Nick and Star and they were just so rude about people behind their backs. like They would talk about people all the time.

They deserve to be eliminated if you're going to just be so flippant and careless about the information that's literally in your hand. Yeah. And so I want to cheer on an all-girl team. Yeah. Yeah, so and they seem like nice people, you know at you know, yeah, but it's like this. It was like four or five times where they had the problem of reading their clue and they never learned their lesson of you can reread a clue. Obviously you're doing something wrong and you need to read the clue. Like that was so annoying. And then their beef with Nick and Starr was annoying. And then they were just so like negative. Yeah. Well, when I was looking up information about them for like their post race stuff, I came across a Reddit And somebody said, like, should Kelly and Christie have confronting star been more vilified? Because apparently, okay, so.

because of this, so it all happened with the sports bra that fell off the side of the wall, like the balcony. yeah And this all happened off camera, so nobody saw it. And so for the next few seasons, they weren't allowed to talk to each other off camera at all. Like this is kind of where it started, where you get they like the teens couldn't mingle during the pit stops because of that incident.
