Meet the Fig Guys - Tom and Mike
00:09:21
Speaker
Other than that, like I said, quick intro. Let's bring on our guests because we were talking for like a half hour before this. So I kind of want to bring, keep the magic going, keep it rolling. I have with me.
00:09:32
Speaker
this time around, two guys that are, you know, they're well-respected men, not only in, you know, in the figure community, but in the wrestling community, just probably in their own communities, you know, where they live, I would assume. Anyway, they're law-abiding citizens. You know, they live on the straight and narrow. And, you know, they're guests on my show tonight. I'm going to bring them on right now. It is the Fig Guys, Tom,
00:10:00
Speaker
And Mike, let me switch you guys, because I remember, here we go. I'm waiting to see who the guests are with that introduction. And I'm like, he's reading the wrong intro. You fine gentlemen, our guest tonight. But yeah, how are you? How are you guys? How are you doing? This is the first time, anyway, that you've both been on the show together. I've had you on separately.
00:10:25
Speaker
And that's right. But I'm three time three two or three time three time open mic guest. He actually only had to do it twice. Right. Like that's what's going on. One of my one of my favorite episodes of recent memory is.
00:10:41
Speaker
Well, both of you, obviously, because, you know, Mike, he had the greatest part of some of the best stories that you have with comedy and, you know, the Dave Chappelle story is freaking amazing. That always that always sticks out on my mind.
Personal Stories Beyond Wrestling
00:10:55
Speaker
But then, you know, Tom comes on.
00:10:57
Speaker
The second time around and I'm figuring, you know, I'm going to do some like, you know, catch up on things. We literally just like, when I think it's like an hour and 40 minutes, just like talking about random, like nothing to do with anything. Just totally different directions. Just random, just random stuff. And that's what happens when, uh, when you get, when you get Tom on, we just go to different avenues at random.
00:11:16
Speaker
I love the redness that comes with Tom Montalto. I will tell you there right now, that's why he's my co-host. He is the best. I think you could blame my ADHD for that. If you want to go back to the last episode and find out more about it, then that's probably why I do jump all over the place.
00:11:33
Speaker
We talked about that in full, too, in detail. As a matter of fact, I got a couple of messages of people reaching out to me like, oh my god, they didn't realize that that's what they had, too. And it helped them open their eyes to things. So I thought that was really cool to share my experiences and help somebody else.
00:11:50
Speaker
Yeah, dude, that's what this that's that's that was the idea behind the show. Like I said, it's obviously I bring everyone together because there's some connection to the wrestling world. But in that sense, everyone has their own, you know, their own personal lives, their own things that they go through. If you want to share them, you can. If you don't, you don't have to. But the idea behind the show is just to give a break from wrestling talk and kind of like talk about each other and how everyone's gears are working and
00:12:18
Speaker
I can't talk about Mike when he's sitting right here. Listen, I try. All I can do is try. One of my main things I don't want is this to be the show where it breaks up the fake guy. I don't want to be responsible for any. Tune in next week for fake guy.
00:12:41
Speaker
Like, oh my God, dude, Seth, I'm not sure if we could release this episode. This is a freaking episode where Tom and Mike went at it and they split up. Just do it, brother. We'll keep it clean. But yeah, how are you both doing?
00:12:59
Speaker
I'll let Tom take the floor first. Tom, do you go first? Well, I did some fig hunts today. I've been working. I've been working on social media for the fig guys, which is fun. I'm experiment and trying all these different kinds of reels and shorts and trying to figure out what works. And it's weird because different stuff works for different platforms. So I've been studying and reading. So that's what I've been up to. And you know what? I'm loving it. I'm absolutely loving it.
00:13:25
Speaker
Probably the best mental place I've been. And I really think it's because of this and how much work I put into it in a very, very long time. Like I feel fulfilled. Like I feel great. Tom is in social media college right now. He's experimenting. He's having a good time. He doesn't care where he's going.
00:13:45
Speaker
It's ecstasy, baby. It's ecstasy, baby. Listen, to echo Tom's statement, this has been one of the most refreshing things I think we've done since pyramid wrestling. No pun intended.
00:14:01
Speaker
No, it's been very nice to kind of feel our vibe and see that we can do good things on our own.
Wrestling Community Dynamics and Growth
00:14:09
Speaker
And I feel like we're growing and we're showing and we're doing lots and lots of good things.
00:14:14
Speaker
Yeah, man, it's been a blast. Obviously, we both love toys, but we could sit here and flop all week long. But I feel like the last eight episodes have been very good. I feel like we've been doing great things. And if there's not another person in the world I'd be wanting to do it with. And Dom, because he's the OG Fig Kid, and I am the new G-Fig Kid, and we're both doing things all over the place. It's been good, man. It really has been. It's been the most enjoyable.
00:14:44
Speaker
experience in a while. I can't complain. How do I even respond to that? Except for with a tear in my eye. Man, Marco, did you hop on those big rubber guys this morning in the the major bandies? I did not. I had a like be transparent shoe life.
00:15:05
Speaker
She worked. We slept. Yeah, yeah, yeah. How we got my slides, besides our best effort to wake him up in a little group chat that we had as me and Austin were ordering them and his phones going off as he's sleeping. I threw my phone in my wall. I shut it off. I was like, I don't want to hear any of the beeping, any of the ringing. Yeah. I'm good. I'm good. It's OK. Bloody Flair looked amazing.
00:15:33
Speaker
I know we're not we're not here to talk about like I did get to a beach in case you're itchy. Let's talk. Well, guess who's itchy, Tom? Like I got an STD in the 1990s. I'm so itchy. I have a cream for that, dude. Well, that cream is big rubber guys from Tom Montalto and that's what's up.
00:16:00
Speaker
I guess if you're using a big rubber... What else are we supposed to use the big rubber guys for? You always use rubber. Rubber's for protection. There we go! That's why I was doing this. It's not as much definition, but you know, we would do what we can do.
00:16:21
Speaker
Oh, man. Yeah. So like I said, this is the last time we're all together. I mean, well, you guys, we're all together. It's a you guys. It's not a raw down or like a ramp up where we were struggling. Yeah, pretty much. And now you're.
00:16:39
Speaker
And now everybody's struggling on the wrap up and everybody's struggling on the raw down. That is true. You guys got the best content going on right now because wrestling hit another fucking boom within the last like six months.
00:16:55
Speaker
through the roof right now yeah that's i mean we kind of you stick through it you stick to all the bad the shitty times as they say with wrestling it has its ups and downs and now it's a lot of downs everything well everything's like you know boom not just ww that like elevate like aw is doing doing good tna's aw is doing a little bit of doing something they're moving
00:17:16
Speaker
uh tna's caught a boom with the uh with the nxt uh partnership and stuff like that and you got moose even saying he's arrested if you guys don't know saying that it's been the best partnership that they've had since you know aw so probably before everyone's up i mean look at joe henry dude joe henry's like uh he's gonna be a household name now i have a question for you marco do you believe in joe henry
00:17:40
Speaker
Oh, who doesn't believe in Joe Henry? I'm not like Booker T. I didn't believe in Joe Henry. Let me tell you something, sucker. I don't believe in Joe Henry. Let me tell you. Don't say his name. Don't say more than twice. You can't have that shit going on.
00:17:59
Speaker
We're gonna get Marco to spit a drink all over the microphone. It's over. Yeah, I know like, you know, just to go off a little tangent it it does get a little Kind of oversaturated with the you know, a
Appreciation for Independent Wrestling
00:18:10
Speaker
lot of the wrestling content out there because there's tons of it You know different variations of it, you know, there's watch along there's a lot long creators is you know people like us I do podcasts and and live shows and stuff like that. But yeah, you try to find out like dish that like
00:18:26
Speaker
to make yourself like, you know, say it out in front of everybody. And it's, you know, it's hard. It's hard to do a little bit, but I think you guys right now are I think you guys are doing it, you know, just, you know, coming along as the big guys can say what you might write. You're going to be rivaling the big dogs out there at some point. Well, you know, do you want to know the most interesting fact I found out this last six months? Yeah, we are the third reigning longest figure show
00:18:57
Speaker
every week behind I'm assuming FP in the major bros. Yeah. Yeah. Wow. Marco just now now. That's crazy. Yeah. But like I never understood.
00:19:11
Speaker
How important what we were doing until I heard, I heard somebody pointed out and I was like, wow, like that's, that's insane because there's a lot of action figure talk out there. There's a lot of community and especially like we've got Nick storm. We get all these great, great individuals out there and everybody's fantastic. I don't have a bad word to say about anybody, but it's like to know that we've been doing this this long.
00:19:34
Speaker
It blows my mind, man. Obviously we've shown, we've had Jeremy Padour on, we've had Steve Ozer, we have Bill Mckenna. We get the best of the best when we can, but at the same time, I'm still just a guy in Chicago.
00:19:51
Speaker
yeah collecting toys man what i think it is if i you know from an outside perspective what i think it is it's the it's the authenticity part of it it's the you can see the the genuine love for what you do when watching and listening to you guys that's what it is and you it's the same thing with like you know fully poseable you can when you listen to those guys you hear like the passion that they have
00:20:17
Speaker
for collecting figures. Same with the major bros. You can hear like, you know, they're, you know, they're obviously they're wrestlers. They have a bigger, you know, bigger fan base because, you know, they're a little bit more popular, but you can tell like at heart, they're collectors, they're figure collectors. And it's like I said, when you can feel that, you know, that genuine, you know, feeling when you're listening or watching, I think that's what that's why you're the third longest, you know, running show is because of that, because you guys have that authenticity to you.
00:20:45
Speaker
Like all of us like we are wrestling figure collectors we are wrestling fans We all talk wrestling like me and Mike talk wrestling all week long and figures all week long whether it's in text whether we're on the phone So we don't really it's really not hard
00:21:02
Speaker
to go on a Tuesday night and record an episode of us talking about wrestling. Especially because by the time Tuesday comes, we have so much going on from the week before, from Monday Night Raw, from the spoilers, the leaks that are going on with the figures. There's so much happening. We're just happy to fucking sing or talk about it. It's the best.
00:21:27
Speaker
That's the most important thing is that, like you said, you never get tired of, when you're having fun doing what you're doing, that's what brings a passion and the fun out of it. Yeah, bonus episodes. As a matter of fact, last week we dropped a bonus, a podcast exclusive, I don't want to call it bonus, where we had this indie wrestler from New Jersey come to us
00:21:50
Speaker
Because she wanted to do something with us. And we dropped off first. We were going to start a big guy's showcase. Oh, nice. Don't laugh. I'm just laughing. Nobody comes to me for anything, all right? Yeah. No, so she's like, oh, like my cousin bumped into her and he told her about us. She was like, oh, I'd love to do a podcast with them.
00:22:12
Speaker
That's awesome. Hey, listen, what a great idea for us to do. It was a very great, organic, nice talk. Yeah. And the week she debuts for TNA, too. Like, how crazy is that? That's awesome. That's the beauty of wrestling in general. There's so much talent out there. There's so many good people. I mean, I've worked in these, you know, maybe eight years out of my lifetime.
00:22:35
Speaker
This might not seem like a lot, but it is a lot, you know what I mean? But those people deserve that spotlight. There's so many independent talents that are so amazing, so very, very, very talented that they might get the push, they might not get the push, they might get to the bigger stage, or they might not get to the bigger stage, but they bust their ass. And regardless, you have to
00:22:57
Speaker
You got to respect that man. I love nothing beats an underdog in an independent wrestling company. That shit drives me wild. I could watch it from a million miles away and just be proud of the person doing it. I love the Fig Guys Showcase. I think it's a great thing that we started.
00:23:41
Speaker
everybody, you know, it's not James Patel, it's not, obviously we love Jeremy Padour, but it's not Jeremy Padour on every week. It's the magics, it's the Daniels, it's everybody behind the scenes and those
00:23:54
Speaker
Without those people, we would not have the figure lines we have. It wouldn't be, you know what I mean? We really have to give that time to the people that are sculptors, the people that are trying to put together everything that we want. Because they're fighting for us. They're fighting for the wrestling fan. And I feel like that with everybody there. I really do. That's been my overall goal. And every time I've been in the place with them,
00:24:24
Speaker
I see it more and more like you guys are the ones driving our toy line and it might not look like that when Comic Con comes around or when, you know, but those guys are the most important people because they're the ones putting the effort in for us to get toys that we love and that we want and we need. I love it all. I'm a sappy Sally.
00:24:46
Speaker
I am too. I get so emotional. But also, we have got the support of Ringside. I am friends with John who owns Ringside, and he fully supports us. And it's great. He offered to give us a prize to give away when we did our first contest. He's like, well, let me give you something to give away. He goes, you're having Jeremy on the first episode? I'm going to give you something from AW and Jazzwares. And every Tuesday, we do the Ringside Roundup.
00:25:14
Speaker
every Tuesday, like he has a prepared note sent to me like with what's new in stock, what's coming in stock, what's new in preorder, like, like his support, like Mike and I have supported him for a very long time, like by like 14, my parents.
00:25:31
Speaker
And like having his support and like it just means so much that so many people in the community like we like the other amazing thing about this community and unlike probably a lot of other communities, all the influencers are out to help each other like
00:25:48
Speaker
WrestleMania weekend, I was bumping into my damn toys, fig heel, fig vault. And we all just talked and had fun. And nobody's out to stab each other in the back. I want to promote everything. The more we promote each other, the more it helps. And it's just so cool that all these other guys feel like that. Nobody's stabbing each other in the back. We talked about me working in the soap opera industry. Every photographer there stabbed each other in the back. It was terrible. I hated it.
00:26:16
Speaker
I'm not there no more like that's just not me so the fact that we're in a community that people are just like supportive it's kind of like you know wrestling fans are so fickle but in the wrestling figure community feels so different yeah yeah i agree i really do like that's a that's cool thing like since
00:26:35
Speaker
go into all these fan fests with Jazzwares, helping them out, being a part of that with them. That little boy, Mike, if I went back and told my 10-year-old self, like, hey, man, you're going to be at a wrestling show with the guys that make the toys to be able to do stuff, talk to Justin Roberts or whatever, and future plans, great shit. It's mind boggling.
00:27:01
Speaker
for me, but I love it. I love all of it. And it's been a blessing. It really is. Like if, if it wasn't for, you know, I'm going to, I'm going to put the good word out there. If it wasn't for pyramid wrestling, if it wasn't for turnbuckle tavern, I wouldn't be in this position now, you know? And I do, I look, that's why we were talking a little bit beforehand. I set up text messages to tavern guys and
00:27:25
Speaker
Like it was very heartfelt on my end. Like I don't care what word was perceived. I don't care about any of that, but, uh, without them, we wouldn't be anywhere where we are right now. And I mean that I really do. And I have put all my love into it. And that's, that's why we are here now as big guys, because we, we believe like Joe Hendry. And again,
00:27:49
Speaker
Shout out to the tavern because like Mike said without them I'm not here doing this like this is all because honestly the major pod groups need made a post in there and I answer his post and we just started chatting I tried to help him with something and then like I find out about the podcast and they invite me on a podcast so without them I don't know Mike
00:28:09
Speaker
Like texting me about fucking The other she got on Casey. Thank you Pyramid wrestling and I would yell at them when I wouldn't know something through the radio and then I would like message Mike or Scott was that his name Scott I think Scott I don't know he doesn't
Organic Conversations and Influences
00:28:29
Speaker
exist anymore. He completely deleted everything
00:28:33
Speaker
I'm sorry. He didn't delete everything. He just blocked everything about it, except for one person. Anyway, seriously, thanks to the tavern. Seriously, without them, I love them guys. Like, I still... No, without Chad and Sneed and Hawk, I would have never met Tony Khan without
00:28:56
Speaker
any of that without them coming here, it wouldn't have been the best like all out ever, you know what I mean? We had a lot of great times and that's the thing I think that's missing and not looked at enough, right? It was the support from both ends. Like I loved every single thing we did there. I love the GCW show. I loved, you know, doing the wrap up. I love doing the fucking debate. I love everything. Every single thing like
00:29:25
Speaker
That got me through the last five years of, you know, the pandemic sitting here doing a bunch of crazy shit, doing nothing. I think during the pandemic, Mike and I might have been on like four nights a week. A hundred percent. There was plenty of times.
00:29:41
Speaker
where it was like, oh, I'm on maybe four to six nights a week doing whatever I possibly can to make this be the wrap up, the rampage recap. We had sessions. We had sessions.
00:29:56
Speaker
Yeah, man, you can name it all. But like, it was Marco, I mean, he's jumped on on plenty of times when Tom was available or somebody can hop on and like those shows were they were tough because I mean, you know, we were just we were going so hard and that
00:30:13
Speaker
the effort wouldn't do it more than the love. And I promise I will always give all my love. The GCW show is one of the funnest things I've ever been a part of, especially because the talent was part of it, especially because everybody was, everybody was loving it. And that's, you know,
00:30:29
Speaker
We grow, we all grow. I'm glad to see the turnbuckle tavern grow. I'm glad to see us grow. Pyramid wrestling is not growing, sorry. I don't know what happened there. He got evinced.
00:30:45
Speaker
It was everything was a stepping stone and I like I'm grateful for it all though. And that's that's part of life, right? Yeah, that's what we do. We all we all grow. We all we all love each other. We also we learn like I like I'm only as good as I am now because of the tavern like if I and working with so many different people and different personalities and all that stuff like like I love doing stuff with J bone and
00:31:10
Speaker
The debate show, like doing things with all those guys. I miss doing that shit. 100%. Yeah. I miss seeing Tom work with Vince Russo on his own. Yeah. I forgot about that. Yeah, bro. That was so much fun. You got dolls in the back room. I have records. It's the same thing, though. There was so much effort on everybody's behalf. I'm glad we were able to be a part of that. I can't even talk.
00:31:37
Speaker
I can sit here. I could either shit talk, which I would never do because there's no need to shit talk. Right. Like, because I honestly loved every fucking minute of it. I don't have a bad word to say. I honestly know maybe because Tom was late a few nights.
00:31:53
Speaker
Fucking guy Every time was a good time. I don't know. I was always there like I always get that same text finishing up my sick and getting to drink I'll be right there before we go live and boom. There he is. Who's there in 30 seconds?
00:32:13
Speaker
I was gonna say one of the like one of the main like you kind of talked about like we all kind of like built up off of each other you know and that's that's one of the most important things is like
00:32:25
Speaker
One of the reasons why I like started, you know, I wanted to do like a show like this and do interviews and stuff because like, you know, Tom doing the session show. Right. And I was like, Oh, I think that's, I think that's pretty cool that he's, I was on an episode of the sessions and like, just like being able to like, you know, being interviewed was, was pretty cool. And I was like, huh, I wonder if like.
00:32:43
Speaker
Anyone else would like that, not interview wrestlers and stuff like that, people that are in the community, like the macho version, like Keiliz who I've interviewed and you guys and stuff like that. I like to know the people behind these accounts.
00:33:01
Speaker
Um, all the, the influencers, I know that some people don't like that, you know, maybe an influencer, but like, I feel like I influenced you. You just thought I inspired you to do that. You did like that. The, uh, like I said, the, uh, you know, the fig night show where you guys are interviewing people. Um, obviously like, you know, like, you know, Joe Rogan, like him doing interviews and stuff like that.
Wrestling as a Unifying Force
00:33:20
Speaker
And you know, Renee, she had her, what was her show? What was her show called? The Renee oral sessions. Yes. Yeah. Like that. Like her, like her, like her podcast.
00:33:32
Speaker
And I was like, I want to do that. I follow so many different, you know, wrestling accounts and people that, you know, cause players and all this stuff. And I'm like, you know, maybe, you know, they would, I mean, not saying they would love to be interviewed, but I think like most people want to tell their story and how they, you know, what they're doing and what their processes are and how they came about doing things. So.
00:33:52
Speaker
You know, like I said, you guys gave me kind of like the inspiration to go, you know what? Let me just reach out to people and see if they're doing it. And lo and behold, like, you know, I've got really, you know, really great, like, you know, positive feedback after like, Oh, you guys, you were so great. Like, you know, especially like when you interview like the ladies out there, sometimes it's like.
00:34:10
Speaker
You just got to reach out to like sometimes they're like, yeah, this is creepy dude just doing stuff like that. But like, luckily, you know, it's you know, it's it's just an interview. And, you know, I always get like, you know, oh, you were so great. You're so professional. You know, you did. And I was like, that's that's pretty much what I wanted to be. I wanted to be like a place to showcase these people as well as try to make new connections, make new friends out there like like what we did here with everybody, like there's a bumble tavern with with with the extra cooler show.
00:34:40
Speaker
All that stuff. And that's what I love about open mic, though. The way you do it is like you just let it progress organically like I did with sessions. You don't come in with a bunch of notes and a list of questions like you conversate and it goes wherever it's meant to go. And to me, that's such a better interview. You do a great job with it. Like I have an idea of like what I want to talk like, like if I see something, obviously, if it's a cosplay, I'm going to ask about their, you know, their process and how they create their, you know,
00:35:09
Speaker
costumes and things like that. But then like the other, that type of stuff. So like, you know, when I had you on, like I wasn't obviously. Shout out over the moon salt. Yeah, over the moon salt. We're talking about cosplayers. It's a little boring. She's a two time. She's actually a two time guest on my show. More than I have. Definitely had to get her back on again. But yeah, like interview with her, like she was she was awesome. Like the best in her processes and what she does, like she does her everything herself. Like she's incredible. All that stuff she does on her own.
00:35:37
Speaker
uh with macho verse his wife helps him with a lot of that stuff what a nice guy he is too i met him at the aw one of the aw shows such a good guy him and dusty roads guy mike he he uh yeah he probably doesn't want me saying that's because he dm me but i'm gonna let's say i'll put it out of the public he reached out to me after that interview that the show that we did he was like he was like this is my favorite interview like
00:35:58
Speaker
by far. He was like, I had so much fun on air. He was like, telling everyone about and all this stuff. And like, he even reached out to me like recently and asked asked me like, you know, because he did a Q&A where Rikishi recently, and he like reached out to me, he was like, Hey, he's like, you haven't you like, you know, pointers on like, what to do in an interview? Like, what the hell are you like reaching out to me? I have no clue how to interview people.
00:36:21
Speaker
But I thought that was like awesome that he actually reached out to because we kind of we converse anyway We like kind of go back and forth of the DMS and stuff But yeah, I kind of kept the connection But I thought that was like I was like flatter that he actually like you know reached out to me and said hey You have any like pointers? I'm gonna do it. I'm doing a Q&A and I'm like I've never done a Q&A in my life I just I just talk crap to people like that's what we do though like I mean
00:36:44
Speaker
honestly we fall in line with that kind of area and not a lot of people have the the chutzpah to be nice to go out and do that you know there's lots of that want to talk there's a lot of people that want to do what we do but it's not
00:37:01
Speaker
in their wheel well, and that's okay. There's no harm, no foul. If you want to listen and just observe, that's totally fine. But it is very hard to break that barrier of going, oh, I'm going to talk weekly every Tuesday, seven to fucking eight. It's not just a lot of time. It's a lot of personality. It's a lot of effort. It's a lot of building up.
00:37:27
Speaker
Oh, what are we going to talk about? What are we going to do? What do you want to do? How can we appease who we're talking to? How can we, you know, make these things work? And it's a very strategic battle is the best way I can put it. Yeah, I take a lot of, you know, a lot of, you know, these, these guys are kind of like the outlaws of, or kind of like they were kind of like the
00:37:51
Speaker
like the beginning stages of podcasting with Opie and Anthony. At the beginning, when they were on XM, they would just have comedians on, Bill Burr, all these guys, and they would just, they were like the basic podcast, like they would just have guys come on and just talk. Joe Rogan. Joe Rogan, he credits Anthony. Credits him all the time, Opie and Anthony all the time. He said Anthony.
00:38:16
Speaker
I got off to Tom Green, who's the first person to do live streaming interviews. How crazy is that? He was doing this on MTV. He was just like, oh, I have a couch and a computer with Windows 95 on it.
00:38:33
Speaker
And I kind of get that, when I go back, I listen to some of the old episodes, and it's like, just let, he's like, what they did, they will even, if you listen to their interviews and stuff like that, Opie and Anthony, we just let the comedians come on and talk, don't try to feed them.
00:38:52
Speaker
No, like they have their material so they can just go on exactly. They're sad. Just have them come on and be funny. And that's that's I took that. It was like, hey, if I'm going to do an interview show and I have advice going on, I want to queue it up so they just talk. I'm not going to sit here and I don't want to be. Obviously, I'm going to converse with you, but I want to be able to like pitch you a question or put you in a position where you're just going to go off on a.
00:39:14
Speaker
on a tangent and just talking showcase and talking stuff like that. And that's why I loved Opie and Anthony. I was a huge fan of theirs. And even before they were on satellite radio, they were on local radio here in New York. And that's where I first before I got fired for people getting fired. But anyway, their conversation like Anthony is such a good interviewer.
00:39:37
Speaker
Yes. Opie kind of like steered the show. He was a straight man. Then you had Anthony and Jim just go back and forth and I would just die laughing and the interviews were so good and it was just like a fresh presentation of the way they did it and it's just a shame that it ended the way it did with them. I mean, I think part of the fact that made that show so good was that everybody knew Opie and Anthony hated each other.
00:40:01
Speaker
But yet they were so good on the air and you could hear the tension sometimes like the grape incident. I love the grape incident. I go back and listen to that like at least once a year. And then Patrice O'Neill on that show, Patrice O'Neill was gold. He was there.
00:40:19
Speaker
I miss Patrice O'Neill more than, you know. I still listen to like, I found like a, I found like a thing. It was like a, it was like someone did like a library of like all the appearances of Patrice O'Neill and every, every time he was on the Opie Anthony show, he was legit going to be there. Like if Jim Norton ever got like super famous and like left,
00:40:39
Speaker
He was going to be the third, like they were going to put him in. He was that guy. Like they had like they tried out Bill Burr at the time. They tried all like Bob Kelly, but it was something about when Patrice came on that show and Patrice Anthony's chemistry with him and Anthony. And then he even got Opie like like Opie didn't really talk with those guys around. Like when Patrice is on, he got everyone like, yeah, conversated like that's what they need. And that's all like.
00:41:04
Speaker
That's all he that's he was amazing dude. This will just be about what one more comment on this and we can leave all being Anthony behind, but we could talk about Opie and Anthony and Patrice and me all day long. Oh yeah, definitely. He doesn't pass away. Like I think Patrice continues to help Opie and Anthony stay together.
00:41:20
Speaker
I always said that he was that glue for Anthony anyway. He was the one that kept Anthony. Well, not going to go into the what happened to it. But like I think Patrice was that glue that kept or that like kind of like shield that kept Anthony.
00:41:35
Speaker
in line, essentially. And Patrice was hanging out at Anthony's house all the time. He'd be doing his barbecuing and everything at the parties. Yeah, he was so white. He'd go to barbecues.
00:41:52
Speaker
that's what happened it was like he ended up getting like really close to the point where they were hanging out and stuff like that he would go to fly out to see Patrice perform at a at a show and stuff like that so they're like and then obviously you know Patrice passes away and then I think that's I think once he passed that was like remember Patrice's last roast
00:42:12
Speaker
I forgot which roast it was. Oh, the Charlie Sheen roast. Charlie Sheen roast. He's like, yo, I'm dying up here. And you're making fun of me. But it was so beautiful at the same time because he was just like, you know, like Patrice eats an IHOP because IHOP, you know, he left his lost, he lost his left leg to diabetes.
00:42:30
Speaker
It was so, there was such a labor of love to people fucking with him. And I miss Patrice so much. Shorty's watching Shorty. Oh man. Dude, Web Jump 20, when he had that, that's literally what Ridiculous is now. If he didn't have, if he continued with that, that's literally Ridiculous. That's Web Jump 20. He was so good.
00:42:51
Speaker
it's such a shame that like comedy is such a beautifully funny and happy world but it's also so so sad and depressing like because without without with our Patrice O'Neill's or our Greg Geraldo's like I miss Greg Geraldo so much he was so so good and like from the same cloth dude like I feel like him and Patrice grew up in the same
00:43:13
Speaker
Oh yeah, Bob Kelly, Bill Burr. And then listening to Patrice tell his story about working for WWE for a week. Oh yeah, he was one of the writers. He was a writer for like a week until they had that event at WWE New York. He was like, yeah, I can't do it. Go listen to that story if you've never heard of people. Go over to WWE, Opie and Anthony, and the story will pop up.
00:43:37
Speaker
But yeah, before we hop off of that, I did Joe Rogan. He was talking about Patrice recently, because he comes up a lot. And he goes, dude. People are like, oh, what do you think he would be doing right now? If he was still alive, Joe Rogan goes, legit, I wouldn't be the number one podcast in the world. He was like, Patrice would have the number one. He was like, I guarantee you, he'd be the number one podcast.
00:44:02
Speaker
by none he's like if he's if he's still alive i'm not i'm number two or three he's like i'm not i don't have the most popular podcast tree switch such a beautiful thing to hear no doubt i was like oh man that's awesome he's like he's like i he's like i totally believe that and he was so smart petrice he was oh man he was it's like those old appearances do like those stuff he's saying like back then there's like literally like oh true he could now especially like relationships and really big do the black show go back and listen to that if you can
00:44:30
Speaker
Dude, that's that is the one of the most beautiful things about what we all do. Because we're all I mean, obviously, we're all in the same like realm of that. But like, yeah, our voices are here always like, Oh, yeah, I go back, my kids will be able to come back 10 years from now. And be like, Oh, this was dad, like, there's such a beautiful thing about that. Yeah, no matter what. Yeah, I feel like I'm sorry, I'm going deeper. And
00:45:06
Speaker
We are literally putting out our legacies here on the internet like that that's it like, you know
00:45:13
Speaker
Not a lot of people get that questling, not a lot of people get that effort. I watch videos of my brother playing guitar. He's got like three YouTube videos up. But it's the most beautiful thing I have left from him not being here anymore. I could go sit and listen to him play guitar. I grew up sitting next to his amp at 10, blowing my eardrums out. That's why I'm hard of hearing now. I'm like, Trump, I'm only one of my ears work.
00:45:56
Speaker
tracking our legacies here. We're tracking what we love. We're tracking part of everything. Nothing's more beautiful. My kids were like, oh, you got a podcast on a Monday? That's so rare. And I was like, no, we're doing it for what we do. We love talking about what we do. If you miss that, you're missing the whole point of it. My daughter just started watching the toys that made us on Netflix. She's like, dad, I get it. And I was like, you do you?
00:46:25
Speaker
With this, this is what we do. Like, it's just a love for silly shit and like comedy, you know, toys, fucking wrestling, like none, none of that shit matters. But what we're doing here matters because we get the critique, it'd be the biggest assholes in the world.
00:46:42
Speaker
Dude, what you just said is so awesome that I need to find somebody that cares about me when I'm dead so they can listen to it and watch it. There's Tom. Tom, imagine if my dad did the podcast 20 years ago. That's exactly it. It's a beautiful thing.
00:46:59
Speaker
I'd be the happiest kid to go listen to him talk again. Exactly. No matter what it was about, no matter what the fuck it was, like it just is just to hear the stories, hear the voice. It's a beautiful thing, dude. It really is like, wow. It's the original campfires of like the Wild West. Like, yeah, around the campfire and tell stories. And that's what we do here.
00:47:16
Speaker
You should probably put a little campfire in the middle of all three of us here. I think I'm going to do that after I get some s'mores. But it really is.
00:47:31
Speaker
Without, without the, like my, my dad's friends used to tell me about Dick the bruiser and like all these fucking old wrestlers. Like without that, like where would wrestling be? Right? Like if Abraham Lincoln wasn't wrestling and it carried over through all these years, like in people are telling stories about it, like where.
00:47:49
Speaker
And we're, what does the past understand? You know what I mean? Like it's, it's, it's so, it's so deep. It's so simplistic at the same time. It's just like, we, we have this outlet finally. We're all able to sit here and talk together. It's like, yeah, not everybody's phone conversations are recorded. Thankfully. Oh, I'm looking at you brother. No, it's, it's, it's such a beautiful thing to be able to share this between like just the three of us and everybody that's listening and just like,
00:48:20
Speaker
wrestling's such a weird thing that it brought us all together. You know what I mean? Like, I remember going to shows with my dad since I was like four. Like I remember watching King Kong Bundy beat the shit out of Hulk Hogan and you know, I was like second, third row. And it was like, what the fuck am I doing?
00:48:38
Speaker
But I remember it and then like I would be here and talk about it all these years later. I still have the ticket stub from that show. You know, the only wrestler that's wrestling nowadays that was on that show was Dustin Rhodes. I'm fucking crazy as that 1998. That was a baby. I was, I wasn't even fucking able to remember it.
00:48:55
Speaker
Yeah, that's crazy. But Google is a beautiful thing. We were able to Google the show and figure out what was on the card. Yeah, that's awesome. It's so wild that we're all here just because of this, right? Like, yeah, because we're talking, like, Patrice O'Neill is another thing. Like, Shorty's watching Shorty's little shit. I used to watch my brother all the time. And like, I figured nobody in the world is going to remember, you know, that shit. Dan Cook started on Shorty's Watch. Oh, yeah.
00:49:25
Speaker
Yeah. The key going into the door and it was like this exaggerated like 20 foot key. I can hear it, man.
00:49:35
Speaker
It's awesome that we all kind of grew up in this little bubble and remember all of it. Man, I went way too deep. You actually got me to think. That's how a lot of us connected was this hair. Like I said, with this show in particular, wrestling is obviously the basis of what
00:49:58
Speaker
open mike is and that's
Supportive Nature of Toy Collecting Community
00:50:00
Speaker
what i use as like to you know connect to people like yes this person watches wrestling but they have this other thing that they do like i said you just brought up over the moon so like she just got like she just got into wrestling when i had her on my show i asked you know i asked her how she got into wrestling stuff like that it's not one of those things you're like oh you're just you
00:50:19
Speaker
You just get into it now. You don't know about freaking the golden era of all by like, who cares? As long as you're, yeah, that's like me. Like tell my son, oh, you just got into wrestling. You just figured out what dogs are yesterday. Like just like Roman Reigns. Would you know anything about ultimate warrior? No, I'm joking.
00:50:39
Speaker
That's like me doing that, doing that to him. But like, yeah, it's one of those things where they said, I like doing it. And I like the, I like the fact that I'm able to connect with, with these people that I normally wouldn't have connected with. Like that'd be pretty much afraid to like even reach out to anybody. So I talked to him like, I'm not going to reach out to like, like, like Tom, talk about figures. I'm not going to reach out to, you know, they said over the moon cell to talk about, uh, you know, cause play or, or the macho verse.
00:51:07
Speaker
you know, five years ago, I'd be texting Cardona about toys, right? Like, why would that make fucking any sense to some random shmoop? Oh, yeah. None of it makes sense. Like, that's like, I'm grateful for the space. Here's, here's an awesome story. So we were working
00:51:28
Speaker
whatever the last AW pay-per-view was in Chicago. They did a fan fest for with Starrcade. I forgot, I think it was all out. Might've been all out. I don't remember off the top. Yeah, it was probably all out, but we were, you know, I was invited to come hang out, help set up the booth with Jazz Words, which I did. It was great. But we're all sitting outside. Me and one of the designers are smoking cigarettes, and Bill Makena walks up, sits in the group with everybody, and then Cardona walks up. And I like, I backed out and I was like, man,
00:51:58
Speaker
We got three of the greatest action figure creators sitting in one little circle right now. And Cardona looks at me and goes, yeah, it's fucking crazy. You know, like it just, you know, but for me as an outsider, like looking at it, like there's so much awesomeness happening there. No, everybody's friends. Nobody gives a fuck. Like there's, there's no, there's no heat between companies. Nobody gives a fuck about
00:52:22
Speaker
It goes with the wrestlers as well. And I hope people understand that, but there's so much love. Like, dude, you did this. It's amazing to see you do this. Like, I'm sitting with Bill Makena, Matt Cardona, you know, magic almost fucking everybody else in the design team from trailers. And it's just like, guys, you, you, you don't even know the conversation is happening right now. Cause Bill comes in and he's like, is there any good Japanese wrestling toys there?
00:52:48
Speaker
And then Cardone is like, hey, man, this place is a fucking swamp. Like there's nothing going on here. But it's like we're working it. So like, hey, man, it's even seeing that in perspective is fucking wild for me. Right. So I don't belong. First person to say I'm Joe Schmo. I don't I don't I don't need to be anywhere involved in any of it.
00:53:13
Speaker
yeah but here i am helping set up stuff and you know do fun shit dream come true man if i was to go tell my younger self like what i'd be doing now i would i would have kicked myself in the nuts and said you're fucking full of shit because two years ago
00:53:31
Speaker
I was out there and I'm at dinner with Magic and Bill and everybody from Jazz Rares for the first year I was there and Cardona comes up. Like Mike said, I had to pinch myself because I just sat there watching the whole night and then Cardona comes into the restaurant just to eat. Impact was filming a show.
00:53:51
Speaker
And they, the whole round, yeah, to the restaurant where we are. So like smart, Mark Sterling, fucking Brian, you know, Jonah, John Morrison was there. Everybody's there. And Cardona comes up and in the middle of dinner, he's pulling down his pants to show Bill his sweaty jock strap.
00:54:08
Speaker
He's like, I haven't showered. I just wrestled three matches. And I'm like, this is real. Like, this is really cool. It was just so much fun and the nicest frigging people. And like Mike said, they all support each other. They all love wrestling. Again, it just goes back to what I said a little while ago. This community is so good because, you know, unlike the wrestling business, I feel like the wrestling and figure business, everybody wants to lift it up. Sure. Are they a Hash Arm product? Because it's not what they hoped it would be. Or maybe the scan is imperfect. Blah, blah, blah.
00:54:38
Speaker
It's not the fan base. Right. Yeah. The people going in, the people involved in it all, they all love supporting each other and they want the best for everybody so they could do more. And obviously it's work. Look at it. Look at all the success from Mattel. Look at all the success from AEW. Yeah. I mean, and the major brothers, I mean, big rubber guys, fucking huge sellout today with the, with the Rick Floyd, the bloody Rick Flair, the Macho Man. And I'm not trying to date the show. Sorry.
00:55:06
Speaker
But they really did. It blows my mind every time. I'm not a Bendy's guy. I bought the Jay and Son of Bob ones because I'm a huge Jay and Son of Bob fan. But the love going into it from everybody is just ridiculous. And it's so cool to see everybody
00:55:27
Speaker
You know, Steve O's are still liking my EW post. Magic liking my WWE posts, our WWE posts, you know, everything we put together from all of our shit. Like, it's a community and everybody loves each other so much. And it's so funny, like tribalism can go straight to hell because I don't see it. I've never seen it. I've always seen, like, just wrestling, supporting wrestling and, you know, coming from independence, coming from here now to doing what I'm doing now, like,
00:55:55
Speaker
Even though the guy that I started doing indies with, he started his own company. And it's amazing to see everybody grow. I love it. That's my favorite part of life is watching people grow up and become what they were supposed to be. You know what I mean? I don't think he gets better than that. That's why we have children. That's why we have
00:56:16
Speaker
you know, our faith involved in everybody is because you just want life to grow and become better for everyone. And I think that goes with figures, it goes with wrestling in general. Look at WWE. Marco, the last time you had me on the show, I probably haven't watched an hour of WWE.
00:56:35
Speaker
I've been so involved in it because I'm so proud of where it's going right now. It's so, so hyped on what it's become. Yeah. WWE has been on a fucking roll. It looks different. Completely different. And I feel like only going to get better as they go to Netflix. Like, come on. Like I'm so tired of watching any wrestling where they're chanting, holy shit. And I have to bleep it out. Like, what are you doing?
00:57:00
Speaker
It's wild, man. It's the fans chanting, leave it alone. Leave it alone. And if USA Network continues to do it with SmackDown, it's going to irritate me. Well, guess what? You don't have to watch SmackDown because you'll have Netflix. Everything's going to be good. SmackDown is going to USA, which is a little bit more.
00:57:18
Speaker
leading into, you know, when it comes to that little breathing room, right? They believe out on Monday. They believe the shit out. So that is so annoying. They may have to come in and say, hey, look, we need a little bit. We need a little bit of, you know, leeway when it comes to. And they believe in. Holy shit. They say shit on TV all the time. Stop. Yeah, they say more than that. You ever watch like you like, like FX shows or like, you know, F word, C word. You're allowed to curse on cable after like eight o'clock.
00:57:47
Speaker
I'm going on record to saying that this past WrestleMania was the best WrestleMania I've ever been involved in as a fan. Sit back and watch it, just enjoy it. It was the- It was just because I was there. Yes, that too. I was so happy for Tom. Watching it though, seeing every part of our childhood come back, John Cena, Undertaker, The Rock.
00:58:34
Speaker
everybody in like one quick run. It was great. I'm excited to see where it goes from here. I loved every minute of it. And I feel like we've had a really rough couple of years with wrestling. I mean, we had, you know, John Huber pass away. Uh, we had Brody Brody. I mean,
00:58:52
Speaker
I don't know about you guys. Brody's like three months younger than me. That that fucked me up, man. I got it to me, Brody. And it was so like I was sitting in my kitchen and I was just like, holy shit, Bray Wyatt. Just like like it. I.
00:59:09
Speaker
I don't know, going through my own experiences with loss and shit like that. Like these guys mean a lot more to me than they did when I was a kid. You know, I mean, like if Mick Foley died during the hell in the cell, I probably would have like the like, holy shit, you know, like that's crazy. But the fact that like Braid passes away and I'm like, I'm thinking about Jojo, I'm thinking about their kids and all that shit like.
00:59:34
Speaker
way deeper than uh most fans would put it through but like I'm so grateful that we got to experience his character uh his time in the ring because Bray was such a pivotal point of me keeping my eyes on the WWE product. Yeah. And and I mean that with all my heart like I love the why it's I love that the lantern you know you you see the lantern you're like **** sign me up. This is
01:00:04
Speaker
and everybody involved in the Y86, so much credit. Because when I seen that interview with Bo Dallas and Uncle Howdy, and he was like, your brother just died. How does that make you feel? I've never...
01:00:20
Speaker
been pulled on heartstrings like that on a wrestling show in my entire life and I'm here for it. I'm not against it. I'm not sitting here saying this is the wrong thing to do. I am sitting here saying you guys are doing it in the most beautiful way possible and I love it. I absolutely do. I think this new regime with Triple H and everybody else involved and I just
01:00:46
Speaker
You'll never, you'll never hear me say this on another podcast. This is a MVP Marco exclusive open mic thing. But I'm so proud of WWE for handling it the way they did with from Harper to fucking, you know, Beau sitting there on spec down the other night going, yeah, yeah, yeah.
01:01:05
Speaker
Yeah. And then and then we get the row in one last week. Oh, my God. That was so funny. Like you said, it's just legit. It's all pulled at your heartstrings and I'm sitting there watching this man like that and I just want to hug him and it's like.
01:01:22
Speaker
Yeah, it's like, yeah, because, you know, he's talking about real loss. Right. That wasn't like that wasn't scripted. You can tell that that was that was just so genuine. And it's like when the Wyatt Six first started, I'm like, what is this? Like, it just seems kind of corny. Where is it going? I'm hooked now. And I can't wait to see because how they're like, we all knew who's portraying these characters, but we thought they were going to be these characters. Now we're seeing they're going behind the seat, like behind the stories like
01:01:51
Speaker
What a story. I cannot wait to see what happens now. I'm not high on myself when it comes to my takes and things like that and the things I say on the show, but even J-Bone was like, holy shit, that was crazy. I brought up the fact that with the Wyatt Six, it's braised creations brought to life.
01:02:17
Speaker
Those, you know, those, you know, the, you know, Ramblin Rabbit, you know, Huskus, Mercy, the Buzzard, Abby, the Witch, all those characters are represented as real people now. And it's like, you know, cause you, cause you know, the story is Bray created the fun house in his own mind to like, you know, cope with everything and all that stuff. And it was his own, his own land that he lived in.
01:02:38
Speaker
But then when you watch that, that first, uh, VHS tape on Bo and you know, him and Howdy are sitting, they're sitting in the fun house, but it's, it's dark. It's shut off. That means, you know, it's gone. It's, it's, you know, cause Bray shut off. He's, he's gone from the world. That right there was just like, and I was just like, you know, those creations need a place to exist now. They can't exist in Bray's head cause he's not no longer with us. Now they need to be released into the world. So now you're seeing them in the physical.
01:03:08
Speaker
Yeah. So I was like, when I said that, I was like, holy shit, that kind of makes sense. But it's like, in wrestling terms, it makes sense. But, you know, even in his own like, even in like, in real life, you're seeing his actual creations.
01:03:22
Speaker
live out. Because he created all that stuff. I mean, the later half was him and Bo, like they were kind of that. That's what the story was going. Uncle Howdy, all that type of stuff. You know, Bo's kind of taken on that whole storyline. I guarantee you, there's a book of notes somewhere of braise.
01:03:41
Speaker
Oh yeah. All these characters and they're using that to keep it authentic too. If you watch that documentary, like he had like a whole like art room where he was just like, you know, he's always painting. He became a painter for a while because he wasn't, you know, wrestling kind of escaped him. He was just like, he couldn't really, he lost like the driver and he just became a, you know, a painter and he had all these like crazy ideas and all this stuff. And I think, you know, that's where Uncle Howdy came into play.
01:04:08
Speaker
You know, he dreamt about him and, you know, how awesome for Bo Dallas that he gets to do that for his brother. Yeah. Like I always think about that. Like in the back of my mind, I'm always like, yo, this is great. Visually. This is great. You know, characteristic wise, but how awesome is it? It's not.
01:04:27
Speaker
you know, Chad Gable, it's fucking Bodell is doing it. And like, I appreciate the effort going behind all the, it really does. Like, for me, like I can watch these things and say, wow, this fucks me up. So, but in a good way, like, this is like, I would have loved to be able to have that kind of voice for my own brother or my father or, you know, like things like that. Like, and I'm so happy to see it. Like that's,
01:04:55
Speaker
WWE has always been good like that, you know what I mean? No matter how much we want to shit, no matter how much bad shit they have put out, there's always those anchors that we have with them, be it the stone colds or whatever, but like when they do it right, they do it so right. And this is them doing it exceedingly, right? Like I can't say, I have a hard time watching it. That's how good it is. Yeah.
01:05:21
Speaker
with love though. It's not like, fuck them. Why are they going to do this? It's like, man, how can Bo Dallas get through this? Wow. I love every minute of it. I think WWE is doing so many great things outside of the Y86 too. We could talk about that all day long. Oh, yeah, definitely. Everything's been so
01:05:43
Speaker
on top of, on top of, on top and even the collabing with TNA with, with doing everything. Like it's just so good. I'm so, so proud of wrestling right now coming from all the shit that happened two years ago. Oh yeah. Yeah. I'll say this like.
01:05:58
Speaker
I grew up WWE diehard. Like finally I'm watching other wrestling and I always would peek in at it, but you know, growing up in the Northeast of Marco, you probably feel the same thing. It was WWE country here in the Northeast. Oh yeah, of course. And just to like echo what Mike said a couple of minutes ago, I'm 49 years old. I've been watching WWE since before WrestleMania one. I've never taken a break. Like wrestling has been there for me.
01:06:25
Speaker
and that's the beautiful thing about wrestling because you have your tv shows and you have your sports but you know what they all have their breaks like your tv show you might get 10 to 20 episodes a year you watch any sport is what six months a year for 40 years no matter what
01:06:41
Speaker
what's going on in my life. I always got to look forward to what's happening next in wrestling. My uncle was like my best friend because he would always take me everywhere. He found wrestling conventions when I was like 10 that I didn't even know existed. I got to meet Ox Baker, Big John Studd back then.
01:07:05
Speaker
And then through the hard times when you lose these people, or no matter what the hard times are, you escape it on Monday night and you see these characters that you love. So you become attached to them even more than your shows or your sports, because week in, week out, you could be having the roughest month of your life. But I can't wait for Saturday to watch SummerSlam. And that's going to be my three-hour escape. Or what I do, you could fire up the old peacock.
01:07:34
Speaker
the ones about, oh man, I can watch this. Actually, I kind of like, my uncle, you know, was the same way. When I was younger, he was, my uncle John, the one that passed, he's the one that brought me to all the, at the garden, at the Boston Garden. I mean, obviously back in the 80s, 90s, you know, it was like a loop, like,
01:07:53
Speaker
They were like, every month or every other month. Back in those days, it was every month they would do the same. Pretty much, yeah. It was. It would be Philadelphia, Boston, New York. They would go all the time. But the thing is, back then, they didn't even get a night off.
01:08:09
Speaker
Like it was seven nights a week. So they might have been doing two cities or three cities. And they would do like a matinee in New Jersey on a Sunday. And I have to drive down to Maryland to do it. Yeah, they do another. It's crazy. But my point is like now I'm at this point in my life. And I did it this year where I'm like Mick Foley was doing a personal appearance. And I'm like, I got to go meet him not because I want to take a picture and get his autograph.
01:08:35
Speaker
But I just wanna go tell him thank you and tell him how much he meant to me. And there's a lot of guys I wanna do that with now because time is short. Look, we see these wrestlers that we grew up with and loved. Scott Hall passes away, all these guys pass away. That Roddy Piper, I had an opportunity to go meet him in Philadelphia years ago. And I'm like, I just feel like staying home, I'm not gonna go that day.
01:08:58
Speaker
Well, I blew that and I would love to have gone to Matt Roddy. So now my biggest regret is not me and Scott Hall. Obviously, you know, I got the truck piece. He was he was there for a bad like he wasn't bad. He wasn't at the show that he wasn't at the the WrestleCon when I went when I met Kevin Nash.
01:09:16
Speaker
He wasn't at the Comic Con. He was there by himself, Kevin Nash. I forgot the name of the show here in Chicago, but it was like right up the street from me. And I was like, oh, I was working with an independent company at the time. So I was like, yeah, I'll show up and like fucking do whatever. And we went there and Nash was there with a different promoter. And the promoter was friends with guys that was running our independent, you know, company. So he's like, oh, go say hi to him. I was like, I'm going home to get my truck piece.
01:09:43
Speaker
Yeah. So I, but I, I sat with Nash for like two and a half hours and he was the great, Hey man, you know why Vince put the kibosh on NWO is cause we were selling more shirts at Austin at the time. It was one of those things. Like I.
01:10:02
Speaker
I was so, so proud to sit with him for a minute. And then like, I brought him over to our table. He put on the company shirt. He's like, I love this. And then we booked him like three months later. He chokeslam me through a table. It's on video somewhere on DVD. It's one of my favorite things ever. Like, you know, but Nash was like,
01:10:25
Speaker
smartest guy in the room is this dude, you know, like he was one of those kind of like things like, I'll always be grateful of sitting like just for the few minutes like I brought him on the Elite 16 Kevin Dash Outsiders red gear to him. And he was like, first time I've ever seen this bro. Can I take it out of the package? He opens my mint on card Kevin Dash before he signs it, pulls it out. It's like this is dope.
01:10:52
Speaker
I'll never forget that story. That's one of my favorite fucking pieces of my collection. Just because of that. Scott was one of those guys. He brought me into that believability of I love this character so much. I was going to Nitro with my hair slicked back. I'm 11. I got the little
01:11:16
Speaker
I got the toothpick bro. We're running. We're feeling it. And like, I, I remember going to my dad's work and flicking the toothpick of his old coworkers. Like, Hey man, like Scott Hall was my guy and the fact that I never got a chance that I don't even care about the truck piece, but like not getting the minute to talk to him, you know, it sucks so bad because I, and I met him for like a split second when I was in Vegas for the cauliflower alley.
01:11:43
Speaker
And everybody was going to a bowling tournament, but I was like, oh, I'm going out because thank you. I gave him a fist bump and I was like, Scott, you're my guy. Like, it was cool, but it wasn't like, it wasn't enough, damn it.
01:11:56
Speaker
Oh, Marco, you got to run in behind you. Yeah, I know. Yeah. The old, the old cats behind me messing around here trying to get rid of that blanket, but she, she just says, uh, she doesn't give a shit at all. She deserves it. It's okay. She's just going to make her nip. She's going to lay down celebrate our animals because they're so freaking special.
01:12:17
Speaker
Every single one. I love them all. I love them. Sometimes. All the time. Like, I won't even tell you what happened today and I couldn't even get mad at Dash. It's OK. Mike knows. I miss my cat a whole lot. So seeing your furry little friend back there make me the best at it. She's an old lady. She's like, I think she's going to be 13.
01:12:37
Speaker
My old man lived until he was 17 years old. Geez. And the best friend ever, like even up until like the last week, he was like, hey, what's up, dude? Like, what are you doing? He was awesome. He liked me, your cat. Yeah, he loved Tom. And I mean, who likes Tom? I don't know. That was very true. That's very true. The cat loved him. And I respect the cat, so I'm with him.
01:13:04
Speaker
Oh, man. So actually, you know what? Let me let me ask you guys a question about I know a little bit. Actually, no, we get some time about collaborations. Would you guys you guys would you guys consider like collaborating with other
01:13:19
Speaker
figure related shows. Sure. Oh, yeah, like, you know, do like a crossover show or do like a hell yeah. Like a panel get a panel together and you know, talk about new releases. We feel like Marco are reading my mind. Oh, boy. All right.
01:13:35
Speaker
Are we are we doing like a chick Foley big guys type things? I bet like you like the you know, like you said, you you know, like the Kyle Peterson's of the world. Yeah, amazing guy. Love him. Like I said, head him on love. I'm like in love with that book. My son loves the you know, the classic superstars book that he came out with that was like, man.
01:13:57
Speaker
I like absolutely. I will never bend. I am working with anybody. You know why? Because we all are grown ass adults playing with action figures going to the stores. We're all lying about going to go get milk and then coming home with like a case of toys and be like, I don't know what happened. They were out of two percent, but they had a match series nine. And I picked them all up. Yeah.
01:14:20
Speaker
But we love Figure Friday, we love Kyle Peterson, we love Case Fresh podcast, Chick Foley obviously. We love everybody so equally. There's not enough room in the world for all of us to get on board. We all should be doing a show together. It would be great, like a monthly roundup of everything. I think it would be fantastic.
01:14:43
Speaker
It's funny Marco, because I have ideas in my head with all this that I haven't even said yet that you just kind of hit the nail on. I think I haven't even said the mic yet with ideas I have, because I just don't want to throw too many ideas out there at once, but I have a lot of fun ideas and it's involved in like talking to Fig Heel about getting him on our show to promote the book. He's been on it by sometimes already. I've text with Trey from My Damn Toys a lot. I'm gonna get him back on the show. We love My Damn Toys.
01:15:08
Speaker
The end of the year is coming in a few months and maybe I'm thinking of how we could do a special end of year recap and get a bunch of the other people. I would absolutely love like a six window, you know, figure show. Kind of like we used to do the wrap ups. I remember the wrap ups were really wild, really fun. We don't do that enough anymore. Get all like the main the main players on one. Yeah. On one show and maybe Smart Mark will be down, you know.
01:15:35
Speaker
I kind of got like the idea of like, you know, I think it was I was listening to like some like business like entrepreneur ish dude and he was talking about like how nowadays it's hard. I mean, obviously you can you can do everything by yourself. You can organically grow your brand and do all that type of stuff. He's like, but he's like, usually it's easier if you partner up with somebody that has like a bigger
01:16:00
Speaker
fan base maybe or you know more eyes on their product and you know you kind of like link up with them and you know kind of work off of them and you work together so like that was my idea when I when I started I think I think macho versus the first one I like I created this beam with the the Apple
01:16:18
Speaker
VR headset came out and they kind of look like Macho Man glasses. Yeah, I put it on that Macho Man foodies like posing. I tagged Macho Versa and I was like, hey, I was like, I'm just I just created this if you want to like, post it, collaborate on a thing, whatever it is. Roll with it.
01:16:35
Speaker
He's like, as long as you did it, you didn't take it from anyone, which I get, because you don't want to take it. Yeah, 100%. And I was like, no. I was like, 100% original. And sure enough, he posted, like, freaking blew up, like, crazy. And I was like, holy shit. So then, you know, I had GoBars and Hooks, John, Sir John Lee, who's awesome. You know, when I had him on the show and I was talking to him, I was like, my original idea for my IG page was supposed, like, wrestling clips and stuff like that.
01:17:02
Speaker
And, uh, you know, I seen his page and I was like, holy shit. He's, I was like, I was like, his page is amazing. I don't want to, you know, do it. Cause now he's doing it way better. And he was like, nah, dude. He was like, just, he's like, just do it. He was like, yeah, there's a space for everybody to do, do whatever. I was like, you know what? That makes sense. So I started doing it and then.
01:17:18
Speaker
I'm like, you know what, maybe I was like the collaborative, the collaboration tool on Instagram where you could like collaborate on one post. I was like, I should ever. Yeah, that's probably the best. I was like, sorry, reach out to him. I was like, hey, I was like, I was thinking about like trying to like collaborate with people on like posts and things like that. I was like, I was like, were you interested? And he was like, dude, he was like, I was actually just thinking about that, like, like trying to just like get as many posts as you can because you're helping everyone out.
01:17:42
Speaker
Yeah. So like we ended up started doing it and now it's like, like I said, it's basically working relationship. Got it. Like I said, got a Justin from the wrestling classic. Sorry. He, he, he has like certain ones that he, that he, he'll post that I, that I tag him in like, you know, like the Brett Hart stuff, like the, like the one that's blown up like crazy that I posted was the, the Owen, the, the hearts, Owen and Brett versus the Steiners. I think it was like on a superstars.
01:18:07
Speaker
If you want to see like, you know, textbook professional wrestling, bat wrestling, fucking technical, watch that like clip, dude, it's fucking amazing. But that's the one that gets like commented about. So like, I always I always think of like, you know, nowadays it is hard to like, be out there.
01:18:29
Speaker
You know, when you grow with your brand and stuff like that, it is easier to collaborate. You guys kind of have your own inner collaboration because it's two guys working together in a sense. But like, you know, like I said, if that's something I think, like.
01:18:45
Speaker
a lot of people should be doing is, you know, expanding and going, like I said, go with the Kyle Peterson. I'm so with you. Like, I would love to see a big guys major bros. Yeah. Imagine that tube. Holy shit. We put over the big rubber guys and the major bendies, not because, you know, they're just there, but like, I love
01:19:05
Speaker
The Jay and Salah Bob major. But Tom is obsessed with big rubber guys. I was everything bent up guy, but that. Yeah, that. No, I, I told Knick many times on air, like I hate Bendy. Yeah. I love Bendy's because they had LJN Bendy's as a kid.
Toy Collecting Reflections and Unity
01:19:22
Speaker
So like for me, like we had those, those were like the dollar store toys for us. So I never got into them because it was like, oh, these are crappy compared to the bone crunchers. You know, but I love the effort they're putting into it. I bought the Jay and Salah Bob ones.
01:19:35
Speaker
40 hours of fucking Bendy is very expensive. Don't get me wrong. I mean, it is very expensive. But at the same time, when you're getting stuff like that, that's the material. Yeah. And like they've only gotten so much. But like from when they came out with just Mark and Brian or Matt and Brian, I have those two. And then like going on to now, I got the Dan House and I got the man. I got the Brian. But like seeing the J and some of Bob, they're they're already like
01:20:01
Speaker
30 years ahead of production. In like two years, it's crazy. Big rubber guys, Tom just sent me my first two. It was the break player in the suit and the macho man from, what was it, WrestleCon? And it's just amazing quality. Am I going to buy every single one of them? No, but am I going to put them over? Fuck yeah. Well, you know why? Because it's
01:20:23
Speaker
great avenue for more people to get what they want like a top. I love that there is big rubber guys out there for people like Tom who are obsessed with the LJN's. It's okay. Hold them. Hold them. Hold them. Hold them. Hold them. Hold them. Hold them. Hold them. Hold them. Hold them. Hold them. Hold them. Hold them. Hold them. Hold them. Hold them. Hold them. Hold them. Hold them. Hold them. Hold them. Hold them. Hold them. Hold them.
01:20:40
Speaker
I wish all wrestling was the same way because it would be awesome to see collaborations all across the board from NAAW, TNA, WWE, New Japan, CML, AAA.
01:20:56
Speaker
I don't understand why there's hate from anybody doing what we're doing. Cause we're all, we're all just kids playing with toys at the end of the day. Tony Khan has a roster of people he's playing with, right? Triple H, he's put, Hey, Hey, Johnny Gargano, you're this guy. They're playing with their LJN still, but in their head, they got their real people to do it. But like we're all,
01:21:24
Speaker
just grown ass people playing with our toys. And I wish more people looked at it like that because I was like, that's that at the end of the day, who's who's looking at Kyle Peterson and who's looking at the guys differently? You know what I mean? Like we're all doing the same shit. Yeah, that's a laugh. Like there's whatever heat there is in the figure toy community, whatever the fuck that looks like. Everybody needs to get the fuck over it because we're all grown ass people just trying to
01:21:54
Speaker
enjoy and elevate our hobby. Right. Lincoln, that's that's the end of it. Like if you're Matt Goldberg, if you're blah, blah, it can go a million other places. Well, you know what I mean? But like we all have the same shit. Why? Why are we fighting about it? Why are we sitting here saying your your stuff sucks? You you don't do, you know, the lighting. No, we should be like, hey, man, turn your notches up a little. That looks like chicken head. Oh, wait. That would do well. Never mind. He's fired. Don't worry about it.
01:22:23
Speaker
But like we like if it wasn't for a Matt Goldberg, I wouldn't have the balls to do what I'm doing with jazz words and vice versa, anywhere around like Mattel. You know, I I'm not in favoritism of the AWI. I just like to collect those style of toys. Right. I love Mattel. I love everything that comes out of them. They knock it out of the park. They make great stuff. And I wish I could photograph those more. But like in my means,
01:22:53
Speaker
I'm looking at AW toys, so I want to do it exactly. It's not by preference, it's just what I really gravitate towards. I like them, I like the style better. They fit that deluxe, aggression, jack-specific vibe, so I'm like, yeah, I like shooting these more. It's not nothing against the elites, nothing against ultimates, nothing against anything.
01:23:15
Speaker
I just love toys. I honestly do. I have no horse in any race. I love collecting toys. I love taking pictures of the toys. I like making great photos. I think it's fun. I think it's great. I think everybody thinks it's fun. I don't know.
01:23:33
Speaker
So much animosity in what we do. And it's so goofy to me. We're toy collectors. Nobody should be complaining about it. Even if I reach out to somebody, I hardly ever reach out to any other
01:23:52
Speaker
Like wrestling content creators yeah cuz I feel like if I do they're gonna say no Where like the one the ones that are actually like it's themselves like you know doing videos and things like that not like I feel like they're just gonna be like yeah, I don't want to do it cuz it's like I get it and
01:24:16
Speaker
I don't want to. I don't think it's like cutthroat or anything like this. It's just like no, it's kind of like what you're saying. It's just like they just don't want to do it. But I feel like I get more.
01:24:27
Speaker
Leady and see towards like the cosplayers and the other collectors the cosplayers Listen, they're the ones out of if you look at the track right of the people I've Interviewed they're all collectors or cosplayers. There's none of our out there doing their own podcast except for one I think it's sorry example of things if it's I've worked with Raven for like
01:24:51
Speaker
Six years. I'll give it that middle six years, right? We tried inviting him on sessions when we were doing sessions, you know, co-hosting sessions. He's like, $500 and I'll do a half hour. And I was like, no, I'm not doing that. No, I love Raven. I got nothing against them. I've had some of the best time in spaces with Raven, but I'm not paying $500 for anybody to do anything.
01:25:19
Speaker
Do like yeah, it's it's crazy But like this the people that care care and the people that are out there trying to do what they got to do Obviously understand Raven Raven's on a video game cover. Yeah, he's a he's like a he deserves the 500 bucks. Don't get me wrong I would give it to him
01:25:35
Speaker
Oh, someone else asked me for that? No. No, no. Sorry, sorry, Tom. If you're like, hey, 500 bucks, I'll be like, sorry, Tom. I'll give you a discount for my fourth appearance on open one.
01:25:50
Speaker
It'd be $100 per appearance, so $400 for Tom Nukama. Like I said, it's like, you know, with like, I was like so thankful that like, you know, with, I'll say Justin, the wrestling classic, when I asked Reach out Jam, because I could have went through Sheed, I could have had Sheed to do it, because Sheed is like, she was like, double G, like,
01:26:10
Speaker
like like like kind of like representative of the wrestling clearly when they started like way back in the you know 2013 2014 ish like they were all like coming up like sheena ham i think i think extra cooler was kind of like around that and they're all kind of like helping each other out like promoting each other and stuff i could easily like go to china and get like you know stack guy greg because she's like friends with stack guy greg but i reach out to him myself and
01:26:37
Speaker
You know, I'm not going to say what's going to happen, but I reached out to him correctly. Same thing with Justin. He was like, oh, he's like, you know, I, he's like, the reason why I did your show is because I know he's like, you know, obviously I know you would, you know, with Sheena and Chick Foley. He's like, I was, I was, I did the term buckle tavern show and stuff like that. And I, those guys are pretty cool. Um,
01:26:56
Speaker
He's like, and I see we have like the same like connections. He's like, that's what I did. That's, and that's what I want. I want, like, I want it to be, if I ask you, it's going to be genuine. I don't want to, I don't want to be like, yeah, I'll do it for like, you know, a hundred bucks. We are the whole foods of wrestling. I'm going to say no. No, I'm just like, no matter what, like I remember like 2015, 16 Chick-fil-E followed me back on Twitter. Yeah. I lost my shit. I was like, hell yeah.
01:27:24
Speaker
I don't know. I mean, when when Chip Foley approached Pyramid about becoming part of the Pod Foundation. Yeah. 100 percent. Like, what are we doing? Why would you not take that opportunity? Like, yeah. And like, no offense. Sorry, sorry, Scott. I love you. But I'm not sitting here talking shit. But like, he was like, I don't know. I think we could do this on our own. I was like, but it doesn't hurt to collaborate with people. Yeah. We've been doing this for fucking years, especially when we're so fresh in the atmosphere. Right.
01:27:54
Speaker
It's like GCW going, we're not going to collaborate with WWE. Fuck that. Why would you not? It's the stupidest thing in the world. You have to work together to get...
01:28:08
Speaker
advanced, right? Like no matter what, every aspect, every avenue, you know, you know, the Saturday live, you know, Chris Farley didn't become Chris Farley without Adam Sandler, David Spade. You know what I mean? Like it's, it's all, everybody is a community here. We're all, we're all homies. We all, again, we're buying the same shit. We're talking about the same shit. Why not talk about it together? Like why do, why not make it more user-friendly?
01:28:33
Speaker
You utilize a platform that you're going to do your own thing. 100%. You spread out. You didn't sign a contract. You're not bound to any. Yeah. We're going to sue you or anything. I mean, this is about as more forbidden door as it gets. I mean, you are still part of the tavern. We're all here. Yeah, I'm like the true forbidden door right now. I'm like freaking all over the place, everywhere. But as long as I can be Suzuki, that's all the matter.
01:29:04
Speaker
Like that, even at that, like it's, you know, us just all getting together. If they call, if they hit me up and said, if you want to do a debate, I would gladly fucking think about it and gladly probably do it. Oh yeah, of course. I have no, no, no hardship towards anybody because it's
01:29:20
Speaker
We're all the same. We're all old dudes watching wrestling. I don't. Yeah. Anymore. Fucking do the same. Right. Like if we were doing a podcast about G.I. Joe's in 1990s, like sign me up. It doesn't matter to me. Like we have the same vibe going on. And like that's the thing. Like I don't care about anything. Like I have no hardships about
01:29:44
Speaker
anything ever because this is such a small space of importance in your people's lives. Like if somebody's upset about what we're doing on a podcast about wrestling, then maybe they got to reevaluate what they're thinking about. Because there's so much shit going on out
Handling Stress and Humor in Life
01:30:02
Speaker
there. Like are you really that upset that I like this fucking Mick Foley figure more than the other one.
01:30:10
Speaker
Goofy, but at the same time user preference like we should be passionate. Absolutely. Should we be sitting here like riding people over things? No, absolutely. I'm not mad that Tom found the fucking, you know, the Smackdown set before I did. I'm not going out over to his house and like threatening him.
01:30:31
Speaker
I see the Britt Baker, PA Purview exclusive figure. I'm like, Mike, do you need it? He's like, yeah. A hundred percent. My friend calls me up. He's like, hey, listen, Walmart has the new young bucks on clearance for 10 bucks. I go and get a sense. It's like, we take care of it. We're friends. Like we're better friends. Listen, I'm grateful to be able to say I got to do some work on that Britt Baker figure.
01:30:53
Speaker
It's fun stuff. Like are you dead? I got it. I got to do some fun things the last couple of years. I need to be spoken because I don't talk about it a lot, but like I got the right. If you go on target.com and you look up the description for the bread baker thing, my, my, my, my, or might not be my writing. I'm just throwing that out there, but there's a lot of cool things that I've been a part of and some future shit down the line that you're going to see soon.
01:31:19
Speaker
Not going to, not going to say top five DOA, dead or alive. I'm just throwing that out there. We're going to see some, we're going to see some cool shit coming from Mike Belka. I said, I've been, I've been helping, you know, I'm trying to make it better for all of us. And I'm not trying to blow my own horn saying that you don't know what the fuck they're doing. Cause they do know what they're doing, but I think that, uh, it's good to have a, somebody who's at a fan aspect involved in these things. Um, a hundred percent always. Nice. Yeah.
01:31:48
Speaker
I want to bring up, Tom kind of gave you this idea, but I kind of want to change it up a little bit. Change it up. I want to ask you guys some questions, right? I'm going to be doing that for an hour and 23 minutes. No, I mean, these are just fun. I'm kidding. Kind of like, what do you call it? Kind of like couples type of questions. Because you're a duo, right? You're a couple. You're a love. We're a faction.
01:32:12
Speaker
We are a faction, God damn it. I have a question today, but I'm going to kind of change them up a little bit because they kind of, you know, blah, blah, blah. But I want to, I want to, I'm not going to ask you guys directly the question. I'm going to ask you the question and you have to answer it for the other person. All right. So this is, this is going to be, I think this is going to be interesting. So, Mike, right?
01:32:38
Speaker
Tom's a superhero, right? He is. What what is it? What would his name be? What would you call Tom? Oh, what would his abilities be? What would his power be? If you were to give Tom a name and then we're going to go. Tom, you're going to do the same thing for Mike. Oh, I love this.
01:33:00
Speaker
Hold on, I'm giving his ability first. His ability would be to get out of the house before I can to collect figure. Because he can hit up a Walmart at like 7 a.m. and I'm still asleep. So speed, all right, so speed. I'm coming up at 7 a.m. Whatever, okay, we're not talking shit, we're just telling the truth. I don't give up at 7 a.m. I only give up at 8.30, proper guys, stop. There you go, okay, so he was up, he was at Walmart earlier. Hmm, that was a good one.
01:33:32
Speaker
generosity, Tom, that, that would be a super name because he, he will literally go to the store, probably not buy anything for himself, but he'd be like, Hey, I know you needed this. I'm going to pick it up for you right now. Do you need this? I'll get flooded with text messages and sometimes you're like overwhelmed. You know,
01:33:51
Speaker
So it's like, hey, I got fucking 30 figures in my hand right now. What do you need? And it's like, I can barely respond because I just woke up. But yeah, Tom is on the lookout, Tom. That's a super name because he's always on the fucking lookout for whatever you need. And I love and appreciate it.
01:34:10
Speaker
All right, Tom, so same thing. Super power for Mike in his name. Okay, so his name is going to be Mikey Giggles because he has the power to make anybody laugh. I try. Oh, okay. That is very true. I thought it was going to be like mealy mouth Mike.
01:34:34
Speaker
No, Mikey giggles, baby. Such a mobster name, I like it. Actually, that could be a mobster name. What's going on? Mikey giggles. What are you fucking laughing at? This one might be. I'm not sure. Let's see how how much you really know about each other. But two inches. Oh, what's do you what's the most random?
01:35:02
Speaker
fact, you know, about Tom. I'm not sure if you could say it about if it's something like you know, that he doesn't want you to say that. No, I don't think I have anything I don't want anybody to say. I don't I don't know if I have anything I don't want him to say. Most random fact about Tom. Oh, give me a minute.
01:35:29
Speaker
Oh, this is a good one. So, uh, there's a little story behind it. So there's nothing, nothing bad. Okay. Obviously, but, uh, Tom's first time going to a wrestling show by himself was after I forced him to come out to Chicago for CIA.
01:35:46
Speaker
And I, I mean, I obviously didn't force him. He drove out here willingly, but we, we, we, he came out here for the first dance in hopes that seeing punk was coming. All right. He had no idea. It was kept secret. It's sure whatever.
01:36:01
Speaker
So is Covid. But but one of my favorite things about Tom was like a few weeks after he came out here for Chicago, he was like, dude, I'm going to buy a ticket to dynamite. And he was on camera with fucking Dusty Rhodes guy and punk. And it was like two weeks after. And Tom never went to a show by himself. And I told him,
01:36:26
Speaker
I had to learn this the hard way, obviously. I used to go to wrestling shows with my dad all the time. My wife too, obviously. We had kids. Hard to take the whole family to a wrestling show, especially financially, but I do that. Fuck no, right? Even now, I had to drive six hours away to go to Rockford to be like, yeah, we could all go to a collision on a Saturday night.
01:36:50
Speaker
But, uh, no, one of my favorite things was like, he was like, do I get the ticket? And I said, if you don't get the ticket, I'm going to be upset with you. So risk taking Tom's greatest fucking thing is risk taking. Cause he took my words for, cause I was listening to it. I don't, I don't like going to things by myself, but I've had a lot of great times going to things, forcing myself to go by myself. Yeah. And Tom did that too. And I proud, I proud to be the person that talked that and knew his fucking hat.
01:37:17
Speaker
Yeah, he did beat that into my head because I hate doing shit alone. I won't hate you. Hey, most people want a bet to go to things by themselves, like not even the movies. A lot of people don't like to go to the movies. But I will go to the movie. I won't I won't go to eat by myself. I don't like to do anything by myself. Dude, you know, if I go out on a trip, I'm eating in my hotel room like 90% out to a restaurant about 100%. But without that, you got to do it.
01:37:45
Speaker
That's true. Alright Tom, what's a random fact?
01:37:50
Speaker
You know, like, hopefully it's like I said, you can keep it clean. You're not supposed to say it. You know, I don't know what I got. I got no corpse here.
Friendship and Generosity
01:37:58
Speaker
I was going to say, I don't have anything like dirt on my that I don't even think I couldn't say, but I'm just trying to think of the most random. Like, does he do anything? Does he have like a lot of my tax work? I don't know about. We'll leave that on the sidelines. I do have a good taxes, just going to say.
01:38:22
Speaker
I know. I mean, fact, I guess it's a fact. It is a fact. I'm going to say it. Mike has the biggest heart out of anyone I've ever met. He will literally give you the shirt off of his back for real. Like, I'm not even joking. If you need something and you're his friend, there's nothing he will stop at to do it for you. And that is like amazing because you don't find many genuine people like that. That is true.
01:38:46
Speaker
Listen, I love life, I love people, I know how hard life can be. If I had an extra ticket to a wrestling show and somebody asked me for it, I wouldn't charge them, I'd just throw it at them. You didn't charge me for my CM Punk ticket to go see the first dance. God, and I bought three of them.
01:39:06
Speaker
So the funny story about the first dance is like Tom was like, I'm coming in and I had two tickets. I bought them the rope. They weren't cheap. They were like, you know, three, $400 pop. No, no, not throwing shit towards Tom or anything. But my brother-in-law was super, super excited and he's never been to a wrestling show. So I went out of my way to make sure I found a third ticket relatively close. And sadly, Tom had a ticket. It was two rows behind us, but
01:39:32
Speaker
I mean, Tom, this is one of the best shows we've ever been to. That was incredible. I will never. I won't.
01:39:38
Speaker
I can't even tell like I bought somebody of the last jazzwares vault drop out of pocket like because they couldn't afford it and I didn't ask for the money back. Like if you need something, I get it. I've been throughout life needing things where I couldn't afford it. And I will do that for anybody over a million times because I know how hard shit is and I know how
01:40:04
Speaker
fast life comes and I know how fucking, you know, it's not easy being able to afford your hobby, being able to afford multiple hobbies. I was like, yep, I collect guitars. You know how many guitar, I have 20 something guitars all over like 500, $700 a pop, if not in the thousands, right? I'm grateful, very fucking grateful to be able to collect something like that.
01:40:31
Speaker
for a $200 toy order. I'm not going to sit here and come down on you. Tom Tom Tom will test. He's done it for me, too. And I can't I can't even argue with that. Like we we buy each other toys and we send each other packages and we don't ask for a fucking dime between. No, like we just do it all the time for each other. But listen, that's how I am. It's almost better that way because I get more excited about it. It's like when I'm like, dude, you didn't have like I am.
01:40:56
Speaker
I'm triple thankful for the toy I get because I know Tom went out of his way to go get it for me or, you know, whatever it is. And like, that's that we got each other's backs. That's that's what fucking friends are for. Right. Like, you know, whatever, whatever it came from, from when we were younger to now, like, it's not like, yo, bro, I got you this fucking, you know, the zebra strip gum. Like, it's now we got each other figures and like, I, I.
01:41:23
Speaker
mentally appreciate Tom's friendship because of that. Like I love it. We were, we get it. We fucking, we rock hard for each other. But we're not rock hard for each other. We don't get rock hard. You are right. Maybe. Depends on if you stick me to a pizza place when I come out there. Nothing wrong with that. If you get rock hard for each other, there's nothing at all wrong.
01:41:46
Speaker
Next time, we get the rockers for each other. That's what we do. Next. I have two more questions. This one's not a yo. You answer for each other. You answer directly for yourself. We'll start with Tom, because we started with Mike last time. If you could wake up as a movie character from any movie,
01:42:13
Speaker
What would it be? Well, who would it be, I should say? E.C. No, I'm kidding. I know that's my favorite movie ever, but that would not be who I would. That's a good question. If I if wait. So you're asking if I could be any movie. Yeah, if you if you woke up one morning and you're that character and you're in the you're in the movie, what character movie would it be? OK. Oh, I got that so quick.
01:42:42
Speaker
Like, can you can we include TV shows or no? Does it have to be? I mean, you can do we can do TV shows. Let's go. Let's go. Entertainment character. Yeah. Yeah. TV. Yeah. Any one of the media realm. OK, I would be Luke Duke. I would be Fitz a fan. No, Luke. Give me a generally Luke Duke blue shirt with the pattern on it. Yeah, let's go.
01:43:05
Speaker
jumping in the car. Okay. All right. I'll fuck with that. That's good. I would wait. Can I say one more thing? The other day I was driving to work and next to me a car passes by and it wasn't a Dodge Charger, but it was totally painted as the General Lee with the zero one on the side. So I couldn't see the roof. I couldn't see the roof. I was kind of curious.
01:43:31
Speaker
I mean that's a rough thing for me. We're post moves from all the cancellations. It's just an American flag now. I grew up as a Dukes of Hazzard fan so as a kid I loved that flag not knowing like oh when you're an adult you're not gonna be allowed to talk about the flag. I don't love it for the reasons people hate it. Boss man had it on his sleeve so. I loved it because I was a kid watching the general league that's all. Listen I don't like I thought the flag design was actually pretty uh
01:43:59
Speaker
But that's about as far as I go. The guitarist from Pantera had a guitar with the Confederate flag on it. Very gorgeous looking guitar, but I'm not a fan of the representatives. Much like Hulk Hogan, he was a racist. He just had racial tendencies, right? Mike, who are you going to be? I would be Tony Stark because I could quit being an Avenger and buy everybody all the toys they want.
01:44:27
Speaker
Ooh, that is true. I will be I will get the belt every major Christmas because I will have all the major enough to say I'll have I'll have a plethora. I'll have a wall of wildcat belts behind me for every year that I was able to do the toy truck. Dude, you can you can have all the Iron Man suits like because they're all I'd sell those because I'd be like I want to buy it's like Ring War gear.
01:44:54
Speaker
I would be the worst Tony Stark because I would quit being a superhero and just like giving everything to everybody and that's probably not the best way to be Tony Stark because he's like I'm an Avenger but like instead of doing the snap I would be like no you're gonna get elite you know 105 like I don't care like we're you get it we're good
01:45:22
Speaker
For the money, that's Tony Stark for the cash. That's about it. And then one more, one more question. We'll start with Mike. What's the best piece of advice you have ever gotten that you still use today? Man, there is a plethora. But I'm going to go with something my father-in-law said to me.
01:45:48
Speaker
And it's it's I don't know how deep it is, but it's like life's like a shit sandwich, right? You want more bread you gotta deal with shit I've never heard anything more promising
01:46:04
Speaker
That is very true. You go with a lot of shit in your life. And no matter what, listen, all the shit we've gone through, I'm enjoying the bread a little bit right now. I'm not going to lie. I'm happy to not have to deal with the shit. So with that being said, I mean, we all have our different preferences and different versions of a shit sandwich, right? But we all love the bread. The bread's the sweet part. The bread's where the money's at. The bread's where the life is at.
01:46:32
Speaker
Obviously, we're not making money doing what we're doing, but I'm having the time of my life. And that goes inside of that metaphor because I wouldn't put up with the bullshit to get to where I am without those words of advice. And I probably can't repeat anything my actual father said on air.
01:46:54
Speaker
My father-in-law wins the cake on that one. He gets some bread. He gets some bread. And Tom, what's the best piece of life advice that you've ever gotten? I haven't had on when he's done, too. Oh, add on, add on. OK, so it's not something somebody told me, but it's something I heard from a wise, very, very wise rabbit one time. Bugs Bunny once used to say,
01:47:22
Speaker
Eh, don't take life so serious because you'll never get out alive. And I honestly live with that on every spectrum because I don't take anything serious. And that makes sense. Because if you if you if you wrap yourself up in that fucking stress, the the hardness of everything, like I even even go through the worst times of my life, I try to find some humor in it.
01:47:50
Speaker
you know, like, like, at least I can still do family vacations, my dad's in a box. There's things like that. Like, so yeah, you can look at everything with with the negative I or you can be positive about it. And I'm always trying to be this positive about anything is possible because life's hard enough. We don't need the negative shit. It's good. Yeah. Yeah. That's man.
01:48:14
Speaker
You know what, just to build off of that, I'll get to you, Tom. A lot of people, for me, I deal with a lot of stress and stuff like that. I don't want to say I don't acknowledge it. I have a very high tolerance of just
01:48:48
Speaker
unless it really affects me directly, I can't bother me. It just doesn't bother me. I'm sorry. We are the Mr. Freezers in a world of Batman. And people take it as like, I don't care. But it's not that I don't care. It's just that I can't.
01:49:08
Speaker
Because it doesn't directly. Yeah, it's like people can like if people like not to get on politics when people complain about politics and stuff. It's like, yes, it affects everybody. It's not just affecting you directly. But like, what are you going to what can you do about it? Yeah. Are you going to become a congressman? You know, you get a job at all for Marco. Yeah. Like what are you going to like? What are you going to do to change it? If you're just going to sit there and talk about it, there's nothing you can
01:49:37
Speaker
There's nothing you can do. And that's how I just look at things. I'm with you. And I'm on the same boat as you. Both my parents are deceased. So I went through that. You have to deal with loss and stuff like that. Not that it's like a shell or a shield.
01:49:57
Speaker
You know, I think you like when you go through something like that, it's like what else could affect you? The fucking point of getting out of hand. Yeah, like what else could unless it's like, you know, I see fights online all the time. I'm like, what are these guys doing? Like, yeah, it's like I don't want to say it sometimes it comes off as like you're being like pompous or like above people. But it's just like your experience, like the most like
01:50:23
Speaker
Hardest. Hardest shit ever. Yeah. Yeah. So like what else could you like? What else is going to bother you? What is what is what is what's going to come of anything else? Yeah. It's just we're over it. Yeah. That's the best way to look at it. I'm over it. You you want to find about Scott Hall kicked out at three and fucking the bash of the beach. Fucking 98. Go ahead.
01:50:46
Speaker
I thought it was a good match regardless. Scott Hall looked like a million bucks. I don't give a fuck. Yeah. And I think that's, I think that it comes into like the tribalist part of things with like, with anything. It's like, I don't care enough to like love something that much. Like I don't love WWE a hundred percent over AWS. I don't like Kroger over Jewel or anything matters to me. Wawa is just as good as fucking Bucky's. Yeah.
01:51:20
Speaker
I don't get upset when people like shit on WWE or shit on AWR. Burger King's got good burgers. Exactly. I love both companies. You can go pick on them and hate the other just because it's not the one you prefer, but I love them both. So listen, don't hate on what you don't like. Just don't watch it.
01:51:40
Speaker
Who loves Wendy? I love Wendy's. I love Burger King. I hate Burger King. How could you like Burger King? Dude, Burger King's got way better burgers than McDonald's. No way. 100%. Dude, Burger King is the only place where you could go and eat a burger, and when you fart 20 minutes later, it smells just like the burger you just ate. There's a White Castle. You were lying. I had White Castle today, and it was delicious. And I bet you it smells like White Castle in your house. Nope. Nope. Not like Burger King. You don't even come in the car with you. That's the problem.
01:52:10
Speaker
All right, Tom, let me get the best advice that you've ever received and still use today. Okay. So when I was a little kid, this guy used to tell me, train, say my prayers and eat my
Life Lessons and Philosophies
01:52:24
Speaker
bite. No, that's not it. That's not really. Two things. I get to get two things. One is when I was told, I don't even remember who told me. He goes, don't regret your regrets. Learn from them. Perfect.
01:52:39
Speaker
like makes a lot of sense so I don't but the other thing is advice I gave myself and this is I might have even said this on your show last time because it kind of sounds like I remember talking about anything but always think through what you're gonna do like like say you're at work and somebody's doing something and you want to go tell your boss think about it before you do it and say if I tell my boss what's gonna happen after
01:53:02
Speaker
Like, what are the ramifications going to be for me when this guy could probably put together that I was the one that went to him? Yeah. It's going to make it uncomfortable out of my work. Is it really worth it to go tell that you saw this happening? Of course it is. Fuck him. But it's just with everything in life, no matter what you do. If you ever debate, if you ever have to take the minute to debate, should I do this? The answer is no, because you're thinking about it too long.
01:53:25
Speaker
That's a very good impulsive behavior. I'll tell you, this is very strong poker advice, but it works very well in real life. Think long, think wrong. Actually, you know what? If you're pondering it too much, chances are... There's a reason why. That actually makes...
01:53:52
Speaker
A lot of sense. There you go. That's a wow. I never thought of that. I'll continue to inspire. Now I'm thinking of all the wrong decisions that I've ever made. I'm like, yeah, I actually thought about that way too long before I actually did it. And then you get it and you're like, oh, shit now, man. Don't tell my wife that because it took me like 10 years to propose to her. Oh, man. Oh, man. It was a good thinking, though. All right. It was well played out.
01:54:22
Speaker
Oh man, don't trust me. There's guys out there that have taken way longer than that. I would hope so. You are also very young, Mike. So that's also different. I mean, I'm still pretty young, but but we got married in a wrestling ring. We were in the National Enquirer. We were all over the place. We we.
01:54:41
Speaker
We were rocking. Tony Khan was at his wedding. Somebody was at my wedding. Tony Khan was at his wedding. I can't name names. They signed an MBA. They saw pictures in the inquiry. That's all I'm going to say. He's like, this is the best wedding ever. The food was amazing. The chicken was semi-dry, but still good.
01:54:58
Speaker
But I still thought, overall, everybody's saying it's the best wedding I've ever been to, so it is the best wedding. It's the best wedding ever. It tastes amazing. It was actually in the Inquirer, your wedding? I almost wish I could go grab the copy right now, but I think we got to put it away.
01:55:18
Speaker
right around the Sandy Hook time was 2010. So I'm not trying to bring bad shit up, but we were the pick me up piece in the National Choir and the Sandy Hook victims as a print. So yeah, but it was still cool.
01:55:46
Speaker
I'm the only person who eats a sandwich and hates the bread.
01:55:53
Speaker
Like, I don't know. I love bread, man. That's bread. I hate it. I love I love sourdough. I love. I wish I could eat peanut butter and jelly without bread, but that'd be messy. You hate bread. Yeah, I like even I eat very little. My wife loves it. I like if I eat a burger, I need the smallest bread possible because I just want to call for the fucking win here. Oh, cancer nightmare.
01:56:19
Speaker
Nicole, Nicole's the champ. Let's give Nicole a shot. Nicole, Nicole is the brains and mind behind all my madness and she's still great.
01:56:30
Speaker
Hold on, I got to find my actual page. Toppers had cancer in 2010. Don't think you guys knew. Yeah, believe what you're reading in fire. I didn't know that. I'm also going to shout out to my wife because my wife is the best awesome friend. So this is the magazine cover for you guys. Why did you do it? Who else knew? But we had we were literally on our way back from our honeymoon and her aunt called us and she was hyperventilating crying and we were like,
01:56:56
Speaker
Who died? What is going on like this? Not that we just came back from Vegas like you didn't know we're not in the moon. No, we had no idea how to get the pictures then. That's what I want to know. Yeah. How do they get the pictures? It's a good question. I think our photographer sold them. Was it for him? Was it like celebrities at your wedding or something? Does that why they might have been? I don't think so. Trying to find the page. Can you help me find the page?
01:57:24
Speaker
There's too many pages in the National Choir. A lot of shit going on. But no, there was no celebrities at the wedding. He wasn't there. He didn't come, remember? So here we go. I don't know if I'm going to make it. Oh, that's why DJ Donald was a little busy. He had his own shit going on. But here you go. Smackdown wedding.
01:57:51
Speaker
Wow, that's that's a very very young it's a big spread dude. That's like Fucking two pages brother Small that's not a small. Ah, that's not just like a blur like a blurb it and it's like a Yeah, we had Hold on. Let me see if I can fix this. That's crazy, dude Something new here we had We had
01:58:19
Speaker
our own ticket stubs. We had our own event poster. The people that from my wrestling company that I love support so much, they shut off the signs like, you know, the greatest tag team ever. So they went above and beyond to make it feel special. You know what I mean? Like that was the coolest shit ever. And
01:58:46
Speaker
It was wild. Me and the wife came up to Nick Foley. The car wreck music, we both had flannels. I made her Mrs. Sacco. I wore the Mr. Sacco I caught when I was like 10 years old in the crowd at a WWE event. That's awesome.
01:59:18
Speaker
It was, it was one of the greatest fucking things I've ever done in my life. To this day, because I look at it and like, I got three really awesome children. Uh, one of them is my brother's son and they're like, they all fucking love wrestling. They all like, they all get it. They all care about it. But my wedding video, we have a DVD from the wedding night and it's one of the funniest things ever because we know all the stories behind everybody now. And like, we don't talk to half of them, but like,
01:59:47
Speaker
So much drama involved in it that we're like,
Memorable Wedding Experiences and Gratitude
01:59:50
Speaker
this is memorable just for us. Like, this is the greatest thing that we could possibly ever own on video. But yeah, it was so cool.
02:00:00
Speaker
Just do it. We were able to rent a wrestling ring from our great friend, Hardcore Harry, who owns RentaWrestling.com. So if you need to rent a wrestling ring in any of your facilities, that is the place you fucking do it. He will gladly send you one.

I'm planning something for my 50th birthday. The greatest people of all time. Everybody that showed up to that. My buddy Robert Anthony, he's wrestled on AW, he's wrestled on WWE. I can't thank him enough. He still books me to do commentary and ring it out to this day. He's the only one that gave a fuck that I was doing it. I care about him a lot.
02:00:46
Speaker
Yeah, man, we're just good people involved in all that, making it happen, making it real for me and the wife. So awesome. And that was like, my brother was there, my nephew was there, his wife was there. I got to share that moment. The only person I was mad that wasn't there was my father.
02:01:07
Speaker
Everybody lost their shit when they see it. It was the coolest thing in the world that we got like group picture everybody in the ring together Life's wild Yeah, but it's so cool. It's safe telling I'd never I don't know. Yeah, the girls get their dream weddings the guys rarely My wedding was my dream wedding like Brenda put it together, but it was amazing. There's everything I hope for
02:01:33
Speaker
I really was. Yeah. She knew because she didn't care about the big wedding, but I wanted the big wedding because I have a big family and it was amazing. See, I was I was I was I was I was on Brenda's side. I didn't want the big wedding. I wanted to remember that we could have went to fucking Vegas in the globe to be great. But like.
02:01:49
Speaker
That was fine with that. Brenda would have been fine with that. But yeah, I can do the coolest thing in the world is that we did it like we picked a really good venue because everybody loved the food. It's the number one fucking thing I hear from everybody to this day. Dude, you guys are the best fucking food ever for a wedding.
02:02:05
Speaker
Same thing with our wedding because I chose not to do a sit down dinner because I hate going to weddings and getting sit down dinners because they're always suck and they're always cold. So we had the most awesome buffet. There's Mike Nicole Mayhem in our wedding pictures. Like we had a buffet, but it had the best food at it. Like we had stuffed cabbage. We had pierogies. And everybody, it's 18 years.
02:02:31
Speaker
18 years later and people still talk about our wedding. It's crazy. That's the best thing to hear, man. So I get it. It's special. It's crazy. Yeah, I got so many good pictures, so many good things. Here's me with the OG ring announcer. There he is, Andre. It's just like great people all the way around. I can't tell you. Everybody was so delightful. Everybody was so cool.
02:02:58
Speaker
Here's, here's my little nephew before he now, now 20 and in the wrestling ring. But like, you know, all of us doing our thing and such a blast man. It was, it was the coolest night of my life. Like I hear you hear some of the signs. Yes, yes, yes. That's awesome.
02:03:17
Speaker
And then my wife's maiden name was D.B. Asi. So she came out or her brother came out to, you know, a million dollar man with two hoes on his side. It was great. Here's Nicole coming out with the Mick Foley get up on. Oh, that's cool.
02:03:33
Speaker
Yeah, like it was it was it was the greatest thing you could possibly do for Southern wrestling. I didn't see this before my wedding. Right. Like my good friend, Robert Ego Anthony, who's been on, you know, E.W. Dark and he wrestled Cody and all this shit like he's a baby there. His wife actually caught the bouquet.
02:03:54
Speaker
at our wedding and they got married a year later, which was fucking cool. So we got we got we got this vibe going always just I love her. I can't I can't tell you where I'd be without wrestling. I agree with that comment. Probably probably not as happy of a married man, but still, I think it'd still be pretty happy.
02:04:16
Speaker
Yeah, you got a good one there, Mike. We both do. We're very, very lucky. No, they got good ones. Honestly, let's let's. We got to kind of shout her out because she also helped with the guys a big time. She was the organizer. No, she was like, if you guys don't fucking run now, no. Like if you don't if you don't do it now, you're never going to do it. And it was very like.
02:04:40
Speaker
All right, let's go for it. And she helps. She helps so, so much. She she without her. I don't know if we would have done it. They don't. She really was great. She really with you on that. Like still to this day, she's scheduling shit. She's on her asses every morning. Like she's setting up. How are you doing today? She's so good. So, Marco, if you guys need a future planner in the right, Nicole's available for hire.
02:05:06
Speaker
It's honestly like the best of the best. Like, I don't, I don't know what the fuck. I met her on a whim. Like my brother fucking gave me her phone number. It was like, Hey, this girl works next door to the bar I work at. And I literally called her and was like, Hey, what's going on? And like, we want to go pick up a CD together. And we've never left each other's side since. That's awesome. It's the goofiest shit in the world, but like the best, like, you know, we, that we're the happiest people in the world.
02:05:35
Speaker
Yeah. That's all that matters at the end. So, Tom, what's superhero work?
02:05:44
Speaker
Uh, but yeah, man, I, I, I'm just, I'm so grateful for all of you motherfuckers, all, all, all of both of you, everybody listening, everybody out there, everybody being, being paying attention. I, you guys, you guys rock my world. I wouldn't be here without you. I mean, I'm grateful. I'm grateful for me as well. You should be very handsome, very, very well spoken individual.
02:06:09
Speaker
No, I'm great. No, definitely. I was going to say parting words because they're probably going to, you know, end the show. But yeah, I don't say the same here. I mean, like you said, you know, it's been a couple of weeks. We've been going back and forth trying to get this going. And, you know, I know you guys are busy guys. You get you get this new thing going and not really do, but.
02:06:27
Speaker
kind of a new venture, kind of like a detour in a sense. But I'm very, very optimistic on both of you. I'm hoping, you know, hoping to see more big things from both of you. Big rubber guy things. And actually, you know what, that'll be my last question. Is there any chance that there may be a actual fig guys?
02:06:52
Speaker
coming or could you not say? Could you? I might be able to bribe a connect to make Bendy's. I don't think we'll get big.
02:06:59
Speaker
But if I'm like hey, I'll give you a thousand dollars to make this a few but they make some major Major Bendy's fake guys major Bendy's I'd be saying I think they should do it for all the community I think there should be a fig heel bendy. I think there should be like they should do a whole he'll has a retro already No, no, no, fuck that. I'm talking strictly major pot Who made that Mitch Mitch made that fuck that retro. I have no clue. I'll say this fish. I'm sorry, bitch I don't like your toys
02:07:26
Speaker
They've got him a lot better, though, actually. He sure worked on him. I'm still not buying him. I'm not either, but they do look a lot better. If there was ever a wave of major bandies that could come out, I believe Sheena would be involved, I think.
02:07:42
Speaker
Obviously, we should be involved. I think Fig Heel would be a great addition. Fully poseable. Hopefully, they could get a big hire. Bendies. I just want this pose. Dude, if Conrad can get a Bendy's, anyone can get a Bendy's soon. If Canik hears this, I will gladly pay into the major Bendy releases. I don't care if anybody buys them. I just want they might be the first Bendy's that don't sell out.
02:08:12
Speaker
They may be the first Bendy's that don't sell. You don't even have to put out in there. But as long as we get one, that's all that matters. Yeah, I mean, I mean, I want to say this.
02:08:22
Speaker
Never say never. Never say never. I like it. It's pro wrestling, man. You never know what's going to happen. Maybe we're going to get me and Tom are going to be in the next match series. How about that? Well, maybe, maybe some, maybe some, uh, some class, maybe some Jack's classics. I mean, we know a guy. Yeah, you do know a guy that can, uh,
02:08:41
Speaker
probably different to the well and go back and- I bet he's got a very deep well of lots of cool stuff. I will tell you this, I'm going to arm Anderson if I ever do get a figure. What does that mean? Have two? No bald spot. No bald spots? In my eyes I still have hair. I don't know what you're talking about.
02:09:05
Speaker
You don't want the hogan they could do like the They covered it up a little bit on the uh, that's a here you can have some of my hair because mine's all hidden behind my hat I know you don't even show your hair up. I don't it's like down here as long as you can't even see really screen
02:09:23
Speaker
Oh, wow. You're right. Here we go. We're both we're busting out the locks. A open mic exclusive here. OK. I feel like I've seen you with like taking off his glasses. I feel like I've seen you without your hat, though. It's weird, right? You kind of see it completely different now. You look like a totally different person. This episode of open mic.
02:09:46
Speaker
Ladies and gentlemen, I'm Nick Storm. Welcome to Open Barco MVP, baby. Oh, man. Finally, Nick Storm. Finally, I accepted the invite request and would do it live from Down Under. Oh, my God. I could be Nick's older brother from another mother. Oh, man. There we go. All right. This is this is.
02:10:16
Speaker
This is awesome. You guys are always a pleasure to have. Thank you for being on the show. Thank you for accepting the invite. Thank you for your friendship and thank you for always being fucking a Jettywood dude. How about that one? We'll turn it right around on you.
02:10:37
Speaker
Yeah, I'm flattered. Thank you. Thank you for the conference. I could say the same for both of you guys. You guys are just the most. We're officially unofficially part of the pod foundation. All right. I mean, it's official. There's no poster for it, but we're always going to be as they call me. We are a pod foundation for life.
02:11:03
Speaker
Like I said, we, uh, we still licensed Tom on the raw down his, uh, CM punk. Um, and you, we always say and use in partnership with the fig guys every time we play that clip. I'm totally here for it. I love it.
02:11:22
Speaker
Yeah, yeah, we do that right after the clip plays. We go in. That's using conjunction with the big guys on raw tonight, so cannot wait to watch that. Oh, yeah, I think I was on to see that. Yeah. So entertaining. I mean, they are. What a beautiful build they've done with the CM Punk and Drew McIntyre story. Like I've enjoyed it on like just weaving him in and out through his injury. They've done it so perfect. Like, oh, man, it's like it's like you can actually book CM Punk.
02:11:50
Speaker
and have him over in a company. It's very strange that he's working very well with people. With children. He's doing very good with the children this time around. I guess there aren't any children working. The children at AAW said they love them, the young guys. AAW's got a great daycare center in the CMBox part of it. See what happens when you don't have like one of your mediocre stars, like the biggest draw on wrestling today out of your company.
02:12:20
Speaker
Life, life, life rocks. You basically know, like once, once you leave that company, you're, uh, you're pretty much done for the, uh, wrestling world. So he's, he's playing it. And he might be genuinely having fun. Who knows? That's it. That's why he might be. I don't know if he knows what that's like, but he's going to find out. It's a trip to Mindy's for him. He's having a great time. Oh, in that case, he's having a blast.
02:12:49
Speaker
Nice. She's in his mouth on once as he does. He should. All right, guys, this was fun. It was going to end the show and we'll, we'll talk to you soon. Sounds good, man.
