Podcast Introduction and Tech Issues

00:00:04
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah Welcome everyone back to the GSPN daily forest. I'm James. I'm joined by Marley, technical issues, you know, and all that Marley, how are you doing tonight?
00:00:16
Marley
doing all right the uh the intro seems to be as about frustrating as the game on sunday of a delayed intro but
00:00:22
Global Sports Podcast Network
Mate, it is frustrating, but we're going to have it. I'm determined. Here we go.
00:00:36
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yes, there it is. Yeah, the game. Yeah. So you were at the game.

Match Recap: Newcastle vs Forest

00:00:43
Global Sports Podcast Network
The, uh, the fame who are famous city ground hosted the, uh, not so famous Newcastle United on Saturday Sunday at two PM. I've tried to forget it. I've tried to block it out. Um, can you give us a rundown of what happened, Marley?
00:00:44
Marley
yeah
00:01:02
Marley
Yeah, I can try. We walked out, we had a minute silence, we sang my looking tire, then we might as well have gone to sleep.
00:01:11
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah. Oh, we didn't have a chance. Maybe the first five minutes we were all right, I think.
00:01:17
Marley
ah The first five minutes we came out of the blocks, got an early corner, we got a free kick, which Marillo nodded home for his first forest goal, which at about time he got that.
00:01:17
Global Sports Podcast Network
and you
00:01:25
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:01:26
Global Sports Podcast Network
Celebration was fantastic.
00:01:26
Marley
I'm delighted for him.
00:01:28
Marley
Bit of a Danilo tribute in that.
00:01:31
Global Sports Podcast Network
Was this celebration right in front of where you were sitting as well?
00:01:34
Marley
Uh, just to the side, just to the side.
00:01:36
Global Sports Podcast Network
amazing there to be to be like close up close up i yeah yeah ah but yeah it was I watched it on sky um Jamie Carragher was destroying me ah my young lads is just like can't stand him
00:01:40
Marley
Yeah. The first time in about two years, they've actually celebrated down that side as well.
00:02:00
Marley
I hate character. I'm so pleased. I didn't have to put all his voice.

Forest's Strategy and Key Moments

00:02:05
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, but I think we, we all went into the game with such optimism, um, about a solid settled team about not having, you know, just feeling like we could win and we were going to win. We were one nil up. We we were.
00:02:22
Global Sports Podcast Network
Not doing amazing, but we were cruising. I could see that there wasn't going to be any problem with us getting this win, even when Newcastle scored. Um, I still knew we were going to win, but what happened in the second half?
00:02:36
Marley
I think Nuno had one thing that he could have done to save that game and he didn't do it.
00:02:43
Global Sports Podcast Network
Go on.
00:02:44
Marley
I think he needed to go to a 5-3-2 formation.
00:02:48
Global Sports Podcast Network
Okay, who's your five? I can guess book.
00:02:53
Marley
I would have I would have subbed Alanga Awani.
00:03:03
Global Sports Podcast Network
Okay.
00:03:03
Marley
So the line the team at that point would have been Moreno, ah you know Murillo, Morato, Menenkovic, Yates, Dominguez, Gibbs-White, Awani, and Wood.
00:03:14
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:03:15
Marley
And the reason I would have done that is a back five still allows the wing backs to push forward, but having a third center back enables us to have another defender there to cope with the quick ah heavy number of counter-attacks Newcastle were coming at us with, which created two of their goals.
00:03:32
Marley
And having a second striker up front,
00:03:32
Global Sports Podcast Network
Okay.
00:03:35
Marley
would give us a second option where Dan Byrne had the better of Chris Wood, either a one he could occupy him, allowing Wood the freedom because he would have beaten Kraft, or Byrne could carry on getting a better of Wood, but a one his physicality and pace is more than Kraft, so a one he would still get onto the ball.
00:03:53
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, well, I don't think we we ever, in that second half, we didn't look at the races. even There wasn't even a glimmer. um But I think if we going back to the beginning of the match, obviously, as you said, it was and the armistice ah minute silence, Trent and, um you know, Forza Garibaldi, an amazing tribute with the train and the foresters.

City Ground Tribute Challenges

00:04:21
Global Sports Podcast Network
um There was a large flag of ah a train with forest fans dressed as soldiers going ah across.
00:04:28
Global Sports Podcast Network
um the upper Trent and then the the banners speaking about the first foresters to go off to war in 1914 and then we had the the last post now I think it is brave of anyone to stand in the middle of the city ground pitch surrounded by 30 000 people and even just to speak never mind to to blow up yugul and and obviously last year and that young lad had a couple of notes that were slightly off but again all power to him you know hats off to him and and this year as well there was probably a couple of notes that were off I don't know if it's just becoming a kind of a curse of the city grounds for stuff to go wrong on
00:05:16
Global Sports Podcast Network
armistice day. If it happens again next year, um I think we need to definitely be away um on the armistice the year after. But we ought no, we always do it, don't we? We just do it on the match closest too. So if we're away, we do it on the home match before or the home match after, don't we?
00:05:34
Marley
Yeah.
00:05:36
Marley
Well, to be fair, we did win the last game. We played the last place before it was, uh, it was Aspen Villa to Mongala, the goal for us.
00:05:43
Global Sports Podcast Network
Okay. All right. Blown me out of the water.
00:05:49
Global Sports Podcast Network
um Okay, so I'm still a bit depressed if I'm honest with you. I'm still a bit down about it all. ah And if, ive you know, social media is what social media is.
00:05:49
Marley
Yeah.
00:05:59
Global Sports Podcast Network
I felt sick every time I saw a forest post. And a lot of Newcastle fans on X or Twitter It's always going to be called Twitter, let's be honest. Say no, you know, props to Not Young Forest fans giving real whatever about the game and everything and not moaning. And you're just like, props? No, one props. I want three points. um So how do you feel about it all? Couple of days later, Molly.

Refereeing Controversies and Missed Penalties

00:06:27
Marley
Very frustrated. I feel like we were you just weren't good enough at all. um I feel like there's one or two things which should have happened and could have happened to change the game. Some of them are on the referee's side but I don't really want to get too much into that because it's an old narrative these days. But we should have had a penalty just before their second goal. Immediately before their second goal. And Danvers should have been sent off the second yellow. Twice.
00:06:51
Global Sports Podcast Network
Well, you say you say that but a lot of people are saying that Yates should have been sent off for a second yellow.
00:06:51
Marley
i
00:06:57
Marley
I didn't see it that during the game.
00:06:57
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah
00:06:59
Marley
I've seen pictures of it. So I've got no clue when it happened.
00:07:02
Global Sports Podcast Network
So, there's there's yeah, there's the the question of his elbow on ah
00:07:10
Global Sports Podcast Network
their left back. What was his name?
00:07:13
Global Sports Podcast Network
Can't remember.
00:07:13
Marley
Okay, but what I'd say is the fact that I don't recall any of those incidents from the ground.
00:07:20
Marley
I didn't hear the Newcastle fans complaining for any of them. suggest that it's freeze frames, which look really bad, whereas in real in reality, it wasn't anything like the freeze frame.
00:07:27
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, yeah. Yeah, I can take that so.
00:07:34
Marley
like For example, the foot on the knee one, on the freeze frame, it looks very, very bad, but it might just have been the stud lightly scraped to the knee after deflection off a ball or something or after a kick.
00:07:44
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah long stuff
00:07:45
Marley
And the elbow, it might just have been normal running, and the elbows come back and hitting, which is, again, completely normal, and freeze frame will look bad.
00:07:52
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, I think slightly um on on the replay, as you can see, yeah he he does have ah a quick look, but I don't think it's a look as in, right, I can see exactly where your lips are and I'm about to elbow you right in him. I think it's just a look to see where the player is, um and he's just naturally jumping with his his arms up.
00:08:15
Global Sports Podcast Network
but
00:08:15
Marley
Yeah.
00:08:16
Global Sports Podcast Network
you know well what would they say if he'd have got a red eye, he's not that sort of player ah but he does play on the edge you know he's a very physical um kind of dark arts kind of player so sometimes maybe it does go too far but I kind of felt you know in our last um podcast we were talking about the the parents How do we think we went?
00:08:40
Global Sports Podcast Network
Isak versus Milankovic slash Marillo. Who do you think won? I mean, I know we lost the game, but if it was a oneto one-to-one matchup.
00:08:48
Marley
I would say our centre backs beat Marillo, beat Marillo, yeah, beat Esac in that battle because Esac did score but he scored from a corner when you can't really ring the battle up in the corner because the striker and centre backs can end up anywhere depending on where they're needed.
00:09:05
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, our first goal this season conceded from a corner.
00:09:06
Marley
So I'd say our centre backs won the battle. and two would The goals came from a corner which was luck.
00:09:18
Marley
was look the ball could have gone anywhere it went into the post and after that it could have gone anywhere and it went sadly over the line um boredom probably yeah i think the problem with ina is he's a very very good fullback very good defensively very good attacking i just think sometimes the decision making can be a bit rash when it comes to pushing forward too much being too eager
00:09:19
Global Sports Podcast Network
okay okay Anthony Gordon Aina yeah and Barnes when he came on um scoring that goal and blasting down the wing
00:09:48
Marley
And then it allows the wing the winger to get in behind him very, very easily. It happened a lot of way at Brighton with Metoma.
00:09:54
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah. Well, are we going to say, up is it okay? So we start believing our own hype, you know?
00:10:02
Marley
I think it is. I think we you could tell at one point in the again in the first half, even, we've become a bit too confident and a bit too comfortable in ourselves. And we needed to we kind of needed that loss to bring us back to work because there was a moment in the first half at 1-0
00:10:14
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:10:17
Marley
were Ole passing on the edge of their penalty error.
00:10:20
Global Sports Podcast Network
Oh yeah.
00:10:20
Marley
Why you o why you were they passing at 1-0 in the first half?
00:10:21
Global Sports Podcast Network
I lost the ball. I can't believe it.
00:10:26
Marley
Yes. And we lost the ball and they went on the counter attack. I think that just showed we've got too much confidence. We needed that loss to kind of humble us and bring us back down to work.
00:10:31
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:10:35
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah. Well, but I think the, you know, if I was a man city fan, I'd be absolutely spewing right now, um, with four wins. Oh, sorry. Four losses on the truck.
00:10:45
Global Sports Podcast Network
I mean, they are literally proving to be Rodry FC, um, seeing as they just can't win without him.
00:10:52
Global Sports Podcast Network
So.
00:10:52
Marley
Honestly, personally, I think that's a bit of an unfair statement.
00:10:55
Global Sports Podcast Network
Go on.
00:10:56
Marley
I'm seeing all these people say, oh yeah, without Rodrim, I'd say nothing. They've had four away games in 10 days. You know, it's going to be very, very tricky for the squad.
00:11:06
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, but they're Man City. They got all the money in the world. They can have a massive squad and they just choose not to.

Impact of Rodry's Absence on Man City

00:11:14
Global Sports Podcast Network
But my point being, if I was a Man City fan, even with that, I've seen them in the past.
00:11:14
Marley
Yeah.
00:11:23
Global Sports Podcast Network
you know, be, how however many points behind at Christmas and still win the league.
00:11:28
Marley
yeah that's the thing with man city the
00:11:28
Global Sports Podcast Network
So I would still be saying, I'm not worried. We're still going to win the league.
00:11:33
Marley
thing with man city is so my city they could lose 10 games on the trot playing awfully they'll go and win the next 20 on the trot playing amazingly
00:11:33
Global Sports Podcast Network
Where is it? Go.
00:11:44
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, and and that's it. ah you You can have that confidence that it will come good. Whereas for Forrest, because we've got no recent history in the Premier League to go by, this is new territory and you just don't know what's coming next. we could you know what What if this is the beginning of another 10 defeats? I'm not being pessimistic, I really hope it's not.
00:12:07
Global Sports Podcast Network
you know but What if you know Alan Pardee's right? He hates us. He's just you know been calling it all along. He's dying to stand up and say, I told you Forrest, we're going to get relegated.
00:12:19
Marley
Honestly, personally, I think the Ipswich game is absolutely huge now.
00:12:20
Global Sports Podcast Network
Go on.
00:12:24
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:12:25
Marley
Because I think without the momentum, now we've lost that momentum, we will lose at the Emirates.
00:12:30
Global Sports Podcast Network
You think, you don't think we can be like the Phoenix from the flames?
00:12:32
Marley
I do, because I think at the Emirates, the only hope we really had was momentum to get the squeaker point.
00:12:44
Marley
Because we've lost that momentum, we're off the back of a heavy defeat. Confidence will be defated. I do think we go to the Emirates and we get beaten. Not badly, but we get beaten.
00:12:53
Global Sports Podcast Network
I think.
00:12:54
Marley
And then I think, home to Whipswitch, we need a convincing statement win to kind of get that belief and momentum back on track, especially with the difficult months.
00:13:03
Global Sports Podcast Network
Right. Well. Yeah, I'd say we definitely need the points against Ipswich because that's a must-win game, you know, ah and a very winnable game with the way we've been playing. Let's just hope that the Fulham game and and this Newcastle game were blips.
00:13:18
Global Sports Podcast Network
and The Newcastle game is probably the worst performance of the season so far, but I think this, yeah, international breaks probably come at the right time um to kind of, if we'd gone with the hangover to the Emirates, like,
00:13:24
Marley
hopefully stays that way.
00:13:34
Global Sports Podcast Network
just a few days later or the next weekend, definitely see how that would feel like. You know, we've got to do something, but I think that international break will probably give us some time to recover from the the shock of that loss. Um, but it's time for, uh, an advert. Um, so bear bear with us for 30 seconds. Here we go.
00:14:33
Global Sports Podcast Network
OK, fantastic. Thank you, Jesse. um Now then, let's talk about what everyone has been talking about for the last 24 hours that has been absolutely rinsing every news cycle going.

Referee Bias and Professionalism Questioned

00:14:45
Global Sports Podcast Network
Marley's got a sly smile on his face because we didn't discuss this beforehand, but it has to be spoken about because we have called out the PGMOL already for the way the the unprofessional bias um of referees um you know and it seems that yeah yeah Marley's uh drumming his fingers together mr marinakis is owed a refund of his 750 000 pound tweet because mr david coot has been uncovered as uh an unprofessional
00:15:20
Global Sports Podcast Network
Extremely biased individual in a new video, I say a new video, a video recently released by someone who really mustn't like him or someone he's fallen out with. And the video, it is an old video that someone recorded on a telephone, but it's of David Koot giving his very honest and expletive opinions on Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool um and Marley, I'm assuming you've seen the videos.
00:15:48
Marley
I have, and I only have one comment.
00:15:51
Global Sports Podcast Network
Go for it.
00:15:51
Marley
You all laughed at us, but I have to say, you're not laughing now, are you?
00:15:56
Global Sports Podcast Network
Absolutely. I couldn't believe it. Like on one hand, I feel bad for him because we all have opinions about everything. And you know, is his career, I mean, do you think you'll ever referee in the Premier League again?
00:16:16
Marley
Personally, I believe very strongly in second chances and I believe everyone makes mistakes and everyone can do stupid things. I believe we should be allowed back to referee in the Premier League but not games that directly involve or influence Liverpool.
00:16:32
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, you see, I half agree with that. I agree with the whole second chances thing because we all make mistakes in life, but I don't think that the PGMOL as an organizer, I think he's bought them into disrepute that much that they can't be in a position where they say,
00:16:53
Global Sports Podcast Network
outwardly he won't and ah referee something that influences Liverpool because any game influences the table at some point in the season whether it's, even if it's like a Wolves, I don't know, Wolves Forest match
00:17:08
Marley
Right of it.
00:17:09
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah walls Brentford, yeah, something like that. And they might be mid table or in the relegation battle. And then three weeks later, because of the points that they got, then you've got Everton who was struggling or I don't know, there's so many um different ways it could go that if for any reason, like they've got to be whiter than white, they've they've got to be beyond reproach.
00:17:36
Global Sports Podcast Network
Um, otherwise you do get called out by people like Maranakis and, uh, just, there's, there's too much grayness there, too much opportunity to be like, Oh no, he had an eye on United coming up or whatever.
00:17:42
Marley
yeah but Yeah, but there's one issue that I have with all this and that's I don't honestly believe that you're ever 100% neutral in a football match.
00:18:03
Global Sports Podcast Network
I agree with that.
00:18:04
Marley
Even when you're free, I feel like there is even 1% bias, there's always a bias towards one side. you've just got to try and brush that away.
00:18:10
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:18:12
Marley
But I don't think I've ever watched a football match, it's 100% neutral. Even if I've not had an opinion on any team, I've always had a team I want to, but I like subconsciously want them to win the game.
00:18:23
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah. Well, you know what? Right. Um, I think I heard on talk sport this morning, possibly Dermot Gallagher, um, speaking about basically that they've all said similar things about different clubs.
00:18:40
Global Sports Podcast Network
you know When they get together for their um referees, no training sessions or whatever at the hotel, they all have um you know a good laugh at different things that happen at different games as work colleagues, you know as you would about whatever you do for for work.
00:18:59
Global Sports Podcast Network
They just don't film it. they don't They don't allow someone to film it. And that's probably where he's been a bit naive because we we've all got opinions about our work colleagues.
00:19:11
Global Sports Podcast Network
And Jurgen Klopp was his work colleague.
00:19:11
Marley
yeah um i mean based off the um based off a video there is a definite reason that he wasn't really in and know that he was being filmed or anything um i'm gonna have to give for three reasons it's one of three reasons i'm gonna say them but i'm gonna have to say code names because i don't think this podcast should have these some of these words on them
00:19:35
Global Sports Podcast Network
Nope.
00:19:37
Marley
so the first option is he had a bit too much golden golden second option is that he had a bit too much if you want if you clued up on stranger things you'll know what i'm on about here purple palm tree delight yeah and the third option is too much snow that's fallen near a certain part of columbia
00:19:43
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, too much to drink. Yeah. um
00:19:55
Global Sports Podcast Network
Purple palm tree. Oh yeah. He's too much of the reefer. Yeah.
00:20:06
Global Sports Podcast Network
So you are either, he doesn't snow in Columbia, does it? the Oh dear. Yeah, so he's either Heizekai,
00:20:19
Global Sports Podcast Network
and he He did look a bit, were you know, um, Isaac Kimbo or too much to the ambinector because what you're saying is no one, um, in a position where they're earning a six figure salary, you know, traveling to all the big games, probably with an opportunity to be on the elite list to, you know, travel the world doing champions league games, opportunities to be at the world cup.
00:20:22
Marley
Very good.
00:20:43
Global Sports Podcast Network
opportunity to, you know, do the euros and different things. No one would give that up or risk that um to sit with their mate and slag off Jurgen Klopp for what?
00:20:54
Global Sports Podcast Network
45 seconds, something like that, and which may have ah derailed his career.
00:20:55
Marley
yeah
00:21:00
Marley
Yeah.
00:21:00
Global Sports Podcast Network
There's probably other places he can go. um If he wanted to, probably go ref in the MLS, um depending where him and his family are up to.
00:21:10
Global Sports Podcast Network
Saudi, Saudi are always looking for people.
00:21:12
Marley
I mean, to be fair, to be fair, Saudi Arabia as a country is quite I'm not going to say it could be a bit too controversial.
00:21:20
Global Sports Podcast Network
No mate, Ivan came out this week and said it's basically Milton Keynes on a hot day.
00:21:29
Marley
sir
00:21:29
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah he said He said he really likes it because it reminds me of Milton Keynes.
00:21:31
Marley
and say
00:21:33
Global Sports Podcast Network
He says apart from the heat, it's just like Milton Keynes.
00:21:36
Marley
Yeah, but that says more about but about Ivan Tony than anything. Who on earth has ever complimented Milton Keynes?
00:21:45
Global Sports Podcast Network
with the concrete cows. Yes, Milton Keynes. Lovely. play Full of roundabouts, apparently. um As is Saudi. Full of roundabouts. So, yeah, David Koot. Feel bad for him in one respect. Feel vindicated in another respect. um But it's just tough, isn't it? Because referees do get a bad rap.
00:22:11
Global Sports Podcast Network
and they probably don't get enough. I say help. Just how do how do you do it? You're either one way where we go back to you just have one man in the middle and whatever he sees, he sees and it's just his decision counts and that's it.

Technology in Football Offside Decisions

00:22:29
Global Sports Podcast Network
We don't have any of this VAR or we go to a point where we go like, you know, fully automated, everything's Hawkeye, everything,
00:22:37
Global Sports Podcast Network
is scrutinized. The games last three hours like American football, you know, we're constantly stopping and starting. It's this kind of middle ground where we're just messing it up because we we go too far one way, then too far another way.
00:22:54
Global Sports Podcast Network
Marley, you had an idea on the offsides earlier on in the season.
00:22:55
Marley
Hmm.
00:22:58
Global Sports Podcast Network
What was it? I forget.
00:23:00
Marley
It was ah can't I honestly can't fully remember anymore.
00:23:05
Global Sports Podcast Network
No, it was.
00:23:06
Marley
Oh, it was center of gravity.

Global Sports Podcast Network
Oh, that's it. Yeah, figuring out everyone's gravity.
00:23:09
Marley
ah center The of gravity had to be offside in order for the player to be offside.
00:23:17
Global Sports Podcast Network
Which changes with every step, depending what shape their bodies in.
00:23:21
Marley
Yeah, but like you could pick a point on the player's body, which you would call the center of gravity of a player.
00:23:27
Global Sports Podcast Network
You see, i I always thought the easiest way is we've already got the chip in the ball that tells you when the ball struck. um So the easiest way, everyone's got a chip on the back of their neck. um All the players wear them these days, the trackers that track the fitness and different things. If the FA just added, um i either had access to the telemetry data, et cetera, or just added a small tracker to it. And then it is just, look, if your chips in front of his chip, when that ball is impacted, you're offside.
00:24:06
Global Sports Podcast Network
you know that's fully automated there's no drawing lines do we draw it from the knee what oh you you'd notice that wouldn't you
00:24:09
Marley
yeah well well there is a very easy way to get around that though take the chip out the uh vest and just put it on the s turf and then you can stand on the goal line if you want the chips always behind the defender's chip maybe not the chip might be small you might not notice it being taken out of the shirt yeah
00:24:31
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah No, no i'm i'm sure I'm sure there'd be there' be ways of of doing it. But that that seems to me like the easiest way. Computer can make that decision immediately. you know, you you could have like ice hockey, like lights on the side of the ah goal that says if it was a goal or not.
00:24:50
Global Sports Podcast Network
And if there was anyone stood in an offside position, the lights immediately go red or whatever um and say, you know, double checking for offside.
00:25:01
Global Sports Podcast Network
And then at that point, the referees can check if I don't know, they were in the right phase of play or whatever, but the physical offside,
00:25:07
Marley
The thing with ice hockey and goals is they do, so they can do, because I've watched a lot of ice hockey, they can do something that in football they're not allowed to do.
00:25:19
Global Sports Podcast Network
Go for it.
00:25:21
Marley
If um the puck has been hit in ice hockey, yeah, and the referee can't tell if it's a goal or not, sometimes they'll just continue to play, as if the ball, if the puck had hit the goal to end or hit the the bar or the post.
00:25:24
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah. Yeah.
00:25:36
Marley
and if and then people in another place will review it, and if they find that the ball went in, a siren sounds in the arena and the referee awards the goal.
00:25:45
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yep. Yeah, I totally, totally agree with you. Um, but we, we don't have that problem because the referee has his watch on with the Hawkeye for the goal line technology. The only time we had that problem is if you have a ghost goal and it like, um, what was the one there was one years ago and the ball basically
00:25:58
Marley
It went through a hole in the side of a net, didn't it?
00:26:05
Global Sports Podcast Network
there was the hole in the side of the net, which is why they always check the nets before the game starts. But there was also one where the ball missed by about a yard, but it hit the stanchion that was holding the net behind ah and then bounced back.
00:26:21
Global Sports Podcast Network
And the referee thought it had gone in, so he gave the goal. and And he's just like, wow, crazy. Ghost goals.

Forest's Progress and Challenges

00:26:31
Global Sports Podcast Network
Right then.
00:26:32
Global Sports Podcast Network
So yeah, that's Newcastle.
00:26:34
Marley
hang on a minute hang on a minute hang on a minute that ball went about a yard wide here that was in a Watford game wasn't it I believe because I've seen that was in a Watford game and the referee was a certain Stuart Atwell who we called out for being a Luton fan and it was given against Watford
00:26:40
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah. Was it? Possibly. It was an English game.
00:26:53
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yes, yes. Yes, that was it. That's where I remember it from with the whole.
00:26:59
Marley
EGMOL, FA, proving our point.
00:27:03
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, I tell you what, it all comes back around to everyone hates forest.
00:27:09
Marley
ah
00:27:10
Global Sports Podcast Network
It's true, isn't it? Everyone hates first.
00:27:11
Marley
Yeah, we call them out.
00:27:12
Global Sports Podcast Network
That's what my dad always says.
00:27:14
Marley
We call them out for benefiting everything because he's a Luton fan. People say, oh no, just because he's a Luton fan, he won't benefit another team. Gives a goal against Watford that didn't even go in the net.
00:27:22
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah. Well, thanks everyone, guys, because I think it's been therapeutic um to just talk tonight, because I think we've we've all been planning podcasts and different things.
00:27:31
Marley
Blimey. Half an hour already.
00:27:34
Global Sports Podcast Network
I know, mate, we've absolutely smashed it. um But yeah, let us know how you're feeling after the game. um if If someone has said to me, you'll be fifth at that international break with three consecutive wins leading up to it, I've absolutely snapped their hand off and bit been ecstatic.
00:27:51
Global Sports Podcast Network
It is just such a
00:27:52
Marley
Yeah.
00:27:53
Global Sports Podcast Network
whiplash type situation.
00:27:55
Marley
Put it this way.
00:27:56
Global Sports Podcast Network
ah
00:27:57
Marley
If we'd lost 3-1 to Newcastle, then go on to beat, grow with Chelsea, beat Palace, beat Leicester, beat West Ham 3-0, we'd have been so ecstatic, but when it's the other way, we feel disappointed with the 3-1 loss, just shows how far we've come as a team.
00:28:12
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yep.
00:28:17
Global Sports Podcast Network
Absolutely. And that's how far we come with today's podcast. and Please leave a comment. Let us know how you're feeling and we'll be back in the next day or so with a wildcard Wednesday. But until then, Marley, thank you very much. um Keep it real and see you.
00:28:40
