Global Sports Podcast Network
Hello everyone and welcome back to the Daily Forest here at GSPN. I'm James and I'm joined this evening by Molly who is sporting an amazing vintage top. How you doing Molly?
00:00:22
Marley
I'm doing very well. Very nice top to be fair. That's why I got it as my first vintage one about a year ago now.
00:00:29
Global Sports Podcast Network
It is nice.
00:00:29
Marley
Also wearing the poppy for Remembrance, which is Remembrance Sunday on Sunday.
00:00:31
Global Sports Podcast Network
kennedy
00:00:34
Global Sports Podcast Network
It is, yeah. Can you give us a quick rundown for those that can't see that are just listening verbally? What what sort of vintage is the top? What year?
00:00:43
Marley
It is 1993. In the sort of shirt you'll see the likes of Stuart Piers, Roy Keaton and Teddy Sheringham wearing.
00:00:49
Global Sports Podcast Network
Wow. Nice. And who's the ah sponsor there? I can just see a top sticking out.
00:00:54
Marley
and ship stones.
00:00:56
Global Sports Podcast Network
Shipstones, man, flipping out. That takes

Stuart's Medellin Connection

00:00:59
Global Sports Podcast Network
me back. and And speaking of taking you somewhere, we have Stuart all the way from Medellin.
00:01:06
Global Sports Podcast Network
Or as you said it, Stuart, how was that?
00:01:09
Stuart
Medellin is apparently the official pronunciation. So I would also go on for Medellin, we're taught in school Spanish, LL makes a Y, apparently here is a J. So good to goods be here, good to be back on the podcast and continue the good work you guys have done in my absence the last last few days. of so
00:01:25
Global Sports Podcast Network
No, Gran, thanks for being with us. He's he's in ah he's on a rooftop somewhere and where he's just got um some of the Pablo Escobar Wi-Fi signal um charisma catching up with him there. So, no, fantastic. Joining us all the way from across the world there. That's amazing.

Upcoming Match: Nottingham Forest vs. Newcastle

00:01:41
Global Sports Podcast Network
But also amazing is the run that Nottingham Forest have been on and this weekend on Sunday at 2 o'clock we'll be at the city ground to face the not so mighty Newcastle United. and What are our first thoughts right now? Let's go to you first Stuart. First thoughts on the game against Newcastle.
00:02:00
Stuart
Yeah, the first thoughts are it's going to be fourth win out of four in this time in between an international breaks. We've been doing so well in in everything in these past three games so far. We've been able to um completely soften, cushion the blow of having Nudo Band, of having Maranaki Band, of having Gibbs-White Band.
00:02:22
Stuart
everyone is pulling in in the right right direction. The subs are coming on and and like looking amazing. The starting lineup is is looking settled. So yeah, I really can't see anything other than a ah forest victory. I hope that's not me being too optimistic, but no, I really am. I'm confident it's going to be fourth and fourth come Sunday afternoon.
00:02:42
Global Sports Podcast Network
No, I know that's too optimistic. How about you, Molly?
00:02:46
Marley
uh i'm also quite optimistic um i feel like four from four we've not we've definitely not done it since promotion but i don't think we'll get a better chance to do it because the form we're in is exceptional never thought i'd see anything like it and we've got an international break coming up that we can carry that form into and work on it in training so you know what i'm gonna go there and i know it was a bit early to be saying this But I think if we can pick up a win on Sunday, that momentum will be enough to get us a point at the Emirates.

Nottingham Forest's Premier League Journey

00:03:23
Global Sports Podcast Network
wow a point of the Emirates that would be you know what actually I don't think a point of the Emirates would be a big ask because ah you know hearing
00:03:34
Stuart
I mean, we're above them in the table. I'm sorry to cut in there, James.
00:03:37
Global Sports Podcast Network
la la
00:03:37
Stuart
and I know you guys spoke about it earlier in the week, but we are an attractive proposition. Edu has decided to pack in back in the Emirates for but a slight promotion, admittedly, but still the Forests are but maybe aware on that level where we do go to the Emirates now and think setting up shop and trying to avoid a heavy defeat.
00:03:58
Stuart
Those days have were gone and maybe a point at the Emirates. could really be the moment where we say that we we really do belong in these European places.
00:04:05
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah. And I mean, you've been out there in South America at the moment, Stuart. I mean, it's crawling with forest scouts, right?

Social Media Engagement

00:04:12
Global Sports Podcast Network
Looking for the next Marillo. um Have you seen any, any other forest fans or has anyone spoken to you about forest?
00:04:20
Stuart
Yeah, so certainly Marillo is the the guy the guy they're all excited about. when I was in a ah restaurant in in Rio, the guy with the very limited English, the the waiter, heard us from Nottingham, then he went away, looked on his phone to see who Nottingham was, and he came back and said, oh, Barillo, Barillo. So, um this is precisely not um not any any forest bands, although I was on a hike in the Colombian coffee valley a a few days ago, and there's a Dutch guy on the tour and he said, oh, I said from Nottingham, he said, and where's Nottingham?
00:04:56
Stuart
I could only answer with third. I'm not saying where we are geographically at the moment, I'm saying where we are, where you're on the Premier League.
00:04:59
Global Sports Podcast Network
ha but Yes get in. So as everyone, um I was on one of the popular social media outlets this evening. You can find Daily Forest on all the social media outlets. Look for us on Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, or X as it might be. These days you can find us everywhere. But I was on one of those and I saw a meme about Nottingham forests October. And it has to be one of the most yin-yang months on the planet because
00:05:32
Global Sports Podcast Network
this month we got the five match band for marinakis we got the three match band for nuno the one match band for gibbs white another match band for ward proust so that's 10 match band cumulatively for the club we got a 750 000 pound fine for a tweet other fines for um nuno and for gibbs white totaling almost a million pounds in fines and a 10 match band. But then by the end of it, we were third in the table. We'd won manager of the month for Nuno. Congratulations. And player of the month, Premier League player of the month for Chris Wood. I mean, please fine us 2 million pounds in November.
00:06:18
Stuart
I mean, yeah, good go go for it. I said we're only going to make that money back with our Champions League participation money ne next season. So yeah, maybe maybe we do need to. We were talking before we went live, James, that I was in i in the hometown of Escobar. So he is a Colombian rob Robin Hood stole from the rich to to feed the poor. But maybe, although we've got our Robin Hood um background, maybe it's time that we we are the rich. So we're giving to the poor, which is the FA through who defines, just to keep keep up our eyes with the table.
00:06:47
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah. Molly, um how salty do you think the league and the FAR that they did all of that? And yet they still had to, ah the Premier League handed out all the ah player of the month manager and month awards. um But do you think that someone sat there at FA towers with the big sky six thinking, Oh, what do we have to do to get these guys?
00:07:11
Marley
Well, I don't think you need to ask that question. I think you just need to look at the refereeing appointment for Sunday. Yeah, that's, if I speak, I'm in big trouble, but yeah.
00:07:21
Global Sports Podcast Network
Go on who we got.
00:07:23
Marley
We have got, I don't want to say his name if I'm honest.
00:07:28
Global Sports Podcast Network
bigger than a Who it?
00:07:28
Stuart
Yeah.
00:07:30
Marley
It does.
00:07:34
Marley
Might, might actually, isn't it?
00:07:35
Stuart
mean miss miss Mr. Taylor, Mr. Taylor, he of the tweet fame and also the fourth official in the writing game a month or so ago that got Nuno and Gibbs White, all those bands.
00:07:37
Marley
Oh.
00:07:47
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:07:47
Stuart
So it certainly is very
00:07:48
Marley
yeah ashley taylor i cannot wait i cannot wait for 90 minutes so it's all about you it's all about you ashley taylor it's all about you mine ready yeah from back i used to be a referee
00:07:50
Global Sports Podcast Network
I think you'll have, it's all ah but yeah, we should, everyone going to the game should take a pocket full of yellow cards and just throw them at the pitch.
00:08:05
Global Sports Podcast Network
Um, you know, every time he blows a whistle, just throw yellow cards and be like, it's a yellow. It's a yellow. Oh, you've got yours. Molly's holding up a wallet with a yellow and a red card.
00:08:13
Stuart
so
00:08:16
Stuart
And then a yellow red bank card, Marley, or your amateur ref, or you just happen to have them at hand.
00:08:22
Marley
I used to be an amateur ref, yeah.
00:08:24
Global Sports Podcast Network
Oh, wow.
00:08:27
Marley
Refued football, then packed in after half a season because it was horrible.
00:08:33
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, I can imagine. ah
00:08:35
Marley
I'll stick to sitting in the stand and shouting abuse at the refs.
00:08:39
Stuart
Yeah.
00:08:39
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah. Okay. So looking at the game, um, the, the, you know, I've been looking at stats and I look back at the past head to heads between the teams and and different things, but I really don't think this season we can take any of that into account.
00:08:45
Stuart
healthy
00:08:55
Global Sports Podcast Network
I think this season is hopefully the start of something amazing. Um, but it is so kind of. just out of this world compared to the past or the past 10 or 15 years that any stats against Newcastle where it says they've beat us, you know, six out of 10 times and and different things like that. I just don't think it makes any sense to go with that. I think all I can see is a win. What about you, Stuart?
00:09:25
Stuart
Yeah, completely. I mean, certainly the two home Premier League games against Newcastle. The first one, I remember, was Emmanuel Dennis' goal number two of two, for Nancy and Forrest.
00:09:36
Stuart
But then Niakate, on his return from injury, gave away a penalty in the last minute and we lost. um And then same with with last season. I think it was also a defeat when we promised so much, thanks to maybe Alexander Isaac won the goal.
00:09:50
Stuart
Maybe that was the first year he scored something spectacular. But ah you completely.
00:09:53
Marley
was um It was Gamari who stole the show at the City Garden last season.
00:09:59
Stuart
No, is it?
00:09:59
Marley
He sacked one a year ago.
00:10:00
Stuart
Yeah. But you know, you can get this, even though ah some of the ah players are the same are on our side, but the mood and the attitude is completely different. I don't even think you could compare this to the win at Newcastle in Nuno's second game in charge get that because it didn't then lead to a successful run.
00:10:19
Stuart
That had the feeling of a one-off good performance, but now We are better than one-off good performances. We are the type of team that that are in the middle of a good, sustainable run. And even though it was a Chris Wood hatchet that day, the start of his his wondrous year of form, you think it's even better now than it was then, which did have slightly the elements of a flute that Boxing Day.
00:10:39
Global Sports Podcast Network
Well, I've, I've captained, captained Chris Wood in my FPL. So no Patrick tomorrow would be great. Molly. Um, let's hear it.
00:10:47
Marley
Well, what I want to say is, I feel like last season at home to Newcastle kind of was the sum up of our season. We had spells where we looked really good. We looked promising. and We were scoring the goals, but we just conceded more than we scored. We lost 3-2. There were spells where we looked utter dross and let's face it, I think two of the three goals both came from set pieces. so that really did sum up our season, looked good at times, looked horrible at times, could score goals, conceded more than we scored and we conceded from set pieces.
00:11:25
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah. And, and the amazing thing is I was ah reading a, uh, an article from Henry winter earlier this evening, and and he was speaking about the fact that basically we've not been free scoring. I think we scored something like 14 goals, but we've only conceded seven. And the only other club to have conceded less than us this season is Liverpool with six. So it really is that back line that is the the foundation that the team's built on. So it's not a case of we're going to, you know,
00:11:54
Global Sports Podcast Network
You can score as many as you want because we're always going to outscore you. It's a case of you aren't scoring and we just will. And if it's one, one's enough. You know, what's the famous saying from um ah the the movie with Vin Diesel, whether you win by an inch or a mile, the winds will win.
00:12:04
Stuart
Yeah.
00:12:09
Marley
Brian Croft.
00:12:10
Stuart
Yeah.
00:12:14
Marley
I think I want to quote the Brian Croft one where if you don't concede you can't lose.
00:12:20
Global Sports Podcast Network
Very true. Very true.
00:12:21
Stuart
Yeah, but the thing is, we haven't had any Neil Nils. So, I mean, teams who are prioritised defence first often get stuck in Neil Nils and can't break teams down. but We aren't like that, I mean, apart from the at the Full of Home defeat, which is proving to be a strange one. I mean, well, the team selection there was a strange one, which possibly contributed to it. That's the game that Wood and Ty Woke started together. The fact is that we aren't having any nil-nil draws at all. It shows that although we are prioritizing defense first, it isn't at the expense of a coherent, fluid, attacking team either.
00:13:00
Global Sports Podcast Network
Okay. So, um, you touched on line up there. Um, are we all convinced? I mean, let's just put this one straight out there. Half the team, um, cells in goal, Marillo, Milan Kovich, Ina and Moreno.
00:13:14
Global Sports Podcast Network
Are we convinced that that's our defensive setup?

Game Analysis: Players and Strategies

00:13:18
Marley
Yeah.
00:13:19
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:13:20
Stuart
Yep, so we play Aston Villa in, I think, two games time or three games times.
00:13:21
Marley
Yeah.
00:13:26
Stuart
I mean, that back four will have to be broken up when some remaining won't be able to play against Villa. So, I mean, that will only be the devil advocate, that will only be the reason to give Nico Williams more game time, just so he's not coming fully out of the cold for that Villa game.
00:13:33
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:13:40
Stuart
But Newcastle isn't the time, just go for that back five, but that's just something to keep an eye on in the upcoming one.
00:13:41
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:13:46
Global Sports Podcast Network
No, absolutely. um So stepping forwards, and we always end up with 4, 2, 3, 1 or 4, 2, 1, 3. I'm expecting um any different to that, the the usual kind of setup we've got there. If we jump from back to front to the front line, because I think that's probably the most maybe settled again. The front three, are we expecting anything other than wood in the middle with Alanga and Hudson or Doy on the wings?
00:14:19
Stuart
No, I mean, I think we've all said Jota deserves a turn at various times, but equally, Alanga's still been playing well. He leads Europe in some really obscure stat that's going by a day or so. I can't even remember what it is. He's got a 2.5 expected power or something ridiculous like that. The next best in Europe is 1.6, so Alanga at such a high, whatever this is. Although I have said before, maybe drop Alanga for Jota. I'm definitely in the favour of keeping that for M3 together, thus far.
00:14:50
Global Sports Podcast Network
Okay. Right then. Marley, can you talk us through the midfield?
00:14:56
Marley
um The midfield is very, very tricky. But because obviously you've got so many players who could be in it, you know, I think you've got Yates, Dominguez, Gibbs-White, Anderson and War Prowse to fit into three positions. And I think all five deserve to be in the team. I think we'll stay unchanged. I think we'll go Dominguez, Yates and Gibbs-White.
00:15:21
Marley
How long Gibbs White will last? I don't know if we'll if we'll bring him on bring him off after an hour again or if we'll keep him on for the full 90. But I think the main thing to take is, I think I've said this before, it seems every player on the pitch and bench this season has a job to play, has a role to do in the team. Like, for example, if we do start Gibbs White and bench Eddie Anderson, I think Anderson will be okay knowing he has a role. He has the role to come off a bench.
00:15:49
Marley
for Gibbs-White if needed, and he has that role to bring extra bit of creativity, especially if Gibbs-White starts to tire. We know Elliott Anderson's dribbling is second to none. So if we get him on that ball, he takes on an already tired defense with his exceptional dribbling. He could wreak havoc. And I also know people have been complaining about Alanga lately, saying that he's not been up to pace with the rest of the front line, but at the same time, I think his job is without the ball.
00:16:17
Marley
his pace to cause havoc, wreak havoc, occupy that side of the back line, leave more space for Callum and Wood.
00:16:26
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, I think we've we've had this discussion with about the Alanga issue before. Um, and like you say, people just because we're not seeing him cutting inside and scoring the goals that he was before. And let's be honest, he wasn't bagging 20 a season. He was just scoring some spectacular goals coming on off that right wing. But now those goals are turning into crosses and Chris Woods putting them in, you know, is He's providing the percentages on a Langer cutting in and shooting.
00:17:01
Global Sports Podcast Network
to Ilanga and Wood working together. It's probably a higher percentage of them working together and scoring than Ilanga going alone and scoring. I'm not saying it's bad at shooting and different things. I'm just saying if you've got a striker who's in form and in a real purple patch at the moment, and you've got someone on the wing who can be quick and get the cross in or cut the ball back, I'd say out of the two, I want the ball crossing in or cutting back to the striker whose job it is literally to put the ball six yards into the back of the net over the line.
00:17:31
Global Sports Podcast Network
um So I don't know. I do think that ultimately out of that combination we're getting as many or more goals. They're just coming from the ah different side of the combination. Stuart, you look like I had something to say on that.
00:17:46
Stuart
Yeah, I think we have to assume that that's what's being worked on. So maybe it's definitely a specific tactic that, as you say, the Alanga-to-Wood combination, if they've worked out that that is more effective than the Alanga-to-Gold combination um in in terms of what we're actually going to get out of it, then sure, it's certainly something that we we we can see see the results on.
00:18:02
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:18:09
Stuart
I mean, yeah, when I have said Yossa ahead of it, Alanga, that's purely
00:18:10
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah
00:18:15
Stuart
to reward jotters, increasingly productive FSR from the bench he didn't sign to make 38 sub appearances. He does will want a first Premier League start at some point, um possibly not not and not in this game, but I certainly want it to at least represent that he is there and those are as well. They are there putting an angry customer joy on their toes. And it is fantastic that we have four great options and not two great options and two grab a yeah distinct drop in quality
00:18:46
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, and as the season goes on, we're going to need the squad. Let's be honest, we're a quarter of the way through. We've already suffered two very big injuries at the beginning of the season with Danilo and We're going to need the squad that we've

Current Standings and Future Outlook

00:18:58
Global Sports Podcast Network
got. There will be opportunities. Every player knows that it's ah it's a marathon, not a sprint. And it's kind of why there's probably a little asterisk over every time, in my head at least, every time we say a third in the Premier League, we're third in the Premier League, but we've still got 28 games to go. ah So it's it's it's where we are. If we were three quarters of the way through the season, I'd be, well, let's be honest, I'm ecstatic anyway, you know, third in the Premier League.
00:19:29
Global Sports Podcast Network
but we're not we're not quite there yet. So ah we know how we're going to line up. How do we think, or where do we think the big threats are coming from um in the form of Newcastle?
00:19:43
Stuart
I mean it's, sorry, on you go, on you go.
00:19:43
Global Sports Podcast Network
Marley. oh
00:19:47
Marley
um sorry Yeah, I believe honestly from watching the Arsenal game, Anthony Gordon is an exceptional winger.
00:19:58
Marley
think people can say that at times he hasn't shown what um Liverpool might have been wanting him for but then again inconsistency sometimes is normal comes with confidence but you saw his cross for Isak against Arsenal he is an exceptional player he's got pace he's got the crossing he can do it he can create a lot of problems for us and on that goal as well Alexander Isak looks a very clinical striker he looks like he is very good he looks like he's always a threat And a third player I want to highlight from Newcastle is another player I've already mentioned. It's Bruno Gamalaj. He is one of the better central midfielders in the Premier League. He's going to be joining Morello in the Brazil international camp this break. And I just think he's always a very creative player in that midfield. He will always be able to cause us problems. And I think it's going to take Yates at the top of his game to stop him at least getting an assist.
00:20:56
Global Sports Podcast Network
Okay, so we're going to throw two in a moment Stuart, but just as you were saying that, the match-ups I was thinking of there, and if you can both give me a first reaction when I put these names together to tell me who you think comes out on top. So we've got Gordon Einer.
00:21:15
Stuart
I know, on this form, I know.
00:21:17
Global Sports Podcast Network
okay Isak Milankovic. Okay, and then Bruno Yates.
00:21:27
Stuart
Yeah, maybe Bruno, maybe Bruno. So 2-1, 2-1, Forest, I don't know, three matchups.
00:21:31
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah that yeah one the Yeah, the was thinking with Bruno Yates could be a bit difficult, but Yates on his day, he's playing out of his skin, deserved an England call-up, which didn't come, but we can hit that one.
00:21:33
Stuart
Aynem, Mlenkovic, Bruno, yeah.
00:21:48
Global Sports Podcast Network
Stewart, where were you going before I ah bought those those partnerships in?
00:21:54
Stuart
No, I was just going to say my money went first, but pointing to if some Newcastle's win against Arsenal, but that's why it was a successful win for them. but But apart from that, I think Eddie Howell's third year anniversary in charge is today or it's not on the day day of the game. it's around It's been in the news this week that he's been in Newcastle three weeks and kept them up the first year.
00:22:16
Stuart
took them to the Carabao final and into the Champions League second year. Last year, they played in the Champions League, then the the league performance suffered, so they didn't re-qualify for Europe again. And this year, they're struggling again. again So I think maybe ah Newcastle, if it hadn't been for the Arsenal game, maybe Howard could have been coming under a slight bit of pressure. I know they um he didn't want to lose Anderson, so there's a bit of board boardroom disappointments there. So I think now could be a time to yeah really get Newcastle mean I mean, not when they're down almost, they did at least beat Arsenal, but certainly I think now is a good good time a good time to play them. I don't think it's necessarily a happy anniversary for any help.
00:22:57
Global Sports Podcast Network
OK, so where do we think the defensive frailties might be for Newcastle? um So across the back, who are they playing?
00:23:10
Marley
um have to have a i'm gonna have a look at this quickly against against arsenal the center backs with fabian shah and damburn the full backs with tino libramento and louis hall
00:23:10
Stuart
I mean, isn't it Dan Byrne and Emil Cret are the central defensive duo? Is Botman and the Sal and Cher all injured? Or is it Byrne and Cher still?
00:23:21
Global Sports Podcast Network
um
00:23:32
Global Sports Podcast Network
Okay, so I'm thinking Lewis Hall, ah I'm thinking on both wings, we've got opportunities and with against those young players. I know our players aren't massively old, but they've been around for a while. um You know, Callum Hudson or Doy, can't believe he was only 24 yesterday. Happy birthday.
00:23:52

um you know He seems like he should be about 35 for the amount of time that you've been hearing his name. So our wingers are experienced experienced ah players against some youngsters who I think they can really expose there. um But are we thinking that Bern, who's a big lad, is going to get the better of Chris Wood tomorrow?
00:24:15
Stuart
I think Danburn had been at the left back. I mean, he will he is their first choice left back. He's only been pushed into the middle due to their center back injuries, which is why the youngster Lewis Hall has come in and left back. So I think we've seen Elanga terrorized at Danburn in that Boxing box and Day game and moving him into the center. It might help them against a team like Arsenal who have these smaller, and more agile attackers, but I think it's the type of game Chris Wood is made for.
00:24:44
Global Sports Podcast Network
Fantastic Marley.
00:24:46
Marley
Yeah, um obviously Gibbs, White and Anderson as well. They do both have a bit of pace. So what I'm thinking is to cope with Dan Byrne being a big lad. If we have a Langer running the inside channel and we have what whoever playing can push up a bit, that'll give Dan Byrne something else to focus on, someone who will be able to run time and knots essentially. So that Chris Wood's only got Emil Kraft to worry about who I wouldn't worry about as much as Dan Byrne on him.
00:25:14
Global Sports Podcast Network
No, ah I think, to be honest, I think as long as we can keep the speed up, keep the, as you said, keep the midfield pushing forwards rather than sitting back in any way and allowing Newcastle out. There is not one team in the Premier League at the moment that I think we need to pay too much respect to or anything. And I think we need to sit back. I think we tried that against Fulham.
00:25:40
Global Sports Podcast Network
when we put out the randomest midfield you've ever seen in your life that I don't think we'll ever see again. um And then since then, we've you know just taken everyone as you're leaving with no points today.
00:25:53
Global Sports Podcast Network
So I think Newcastle, not a chance.
00:25:53
Marley
yeah that following game was very weird it was almost as if it we were all luna listened to us all saying ah who's gonna play out of these midfielders who's gonna play out of these attackers all right i'll make you all wrong i'll play

Historical Match Reflections and Predictions

00:26:08
Marley
them all yeah um but what i do want to say about this weekend i've said it in most episodes we've ever done back in august we played new castle in the cup
00:26:08
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, he had a bit of the lee-cause-less about him.
00:26:24
Marley
And we put out a changed side of B team players who had never played together before. Pretty much the entire team was new signings. Newcastle put out a slightly changed 11, which looked majority of their first team. And we looked for most parts of the game to play them off the park, only denied by a 33rd second goal. It wasn't for that. And ah let's face it, a ridiculous kickoff routine read we tried. We'd have beaten them that night. Imagine what our A team is going to do to them.
00:26:53
Marley
When our B team players that will come off a bench have had time to embed themselves into the squad, we could really hurt Newcastle and have a fun afternoon.
00:27:01
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, absolutely. um So what's your score prediction, Marley?
00:27:05
Marley
My score prediction? um I've gone very confident. I think they've got too many dangerous players with to keep a clean sheet. I've gone 3-1, the forest.
00:27:13
Global Sports Podcast Network
3-1. I think that's healthy. Let's do it.
00:27:19
Stuart
So the last time I was I was on today before or Friday forecast for West Ham and I said three nil. So um I got got that one spot on. So to keep up my prediction record, I'm going to say going to say 2-1 for the reasons we weve we we we've said. Perhaps Newcastle do have some threats, but we were in in the form form of our lives. So it's going to be going to be a 2-1 win.
00:27:40
Global Sports Podcast Network
Okay. Um, well you've already, you've taken the, the only respectable two ones and three ones. Uh, I can't go for a draw. So I'm going to stick with, um, two nil to forest. That is two nil. Keep that clean sheet. Matt sells seashells is going home a happy month. Um, and yeah, we're all going to be.
00:28:00
Global Sports Podcast Network
flying high because Arsenal are going to lose um and we're going to remain third in the Premier League and people won't be able to say that we're there out of luck. But any final thoughts, gentlemen?
00:28:16
Stuart
That's what I hear from Marley. What's your matchday plans, Marley? I know we've done a had your voice notes joining us in in the previous home game. So for a Sunday lunchtime kickoff, what's your routine drink drinking from breakfast?
00:28:29
Marley
ah um Yeah, my routine is normally I will have shreddies for breakfast with a Malibu instead of milk. Nah. Yeah, I'll try and get some voice notes in. This time I'll try and keep my phone charged pre-match. I don't have to charge it behind my seat and miss voice notes for most of the game. If I can, I'll try and get my looking tire again for you. ah And my plan is, I don't know, I know Chef Wednesday thing and Chef United's on at 12.30, so I'll try and get into town.
00:28:59
Marley
for 11, so I can ah half eleven so one get settled down in the pub ready for that.

Marley
I try and watch all Darby's. I try and watch all Darby's, honestly. I keep track of all of them. Even the Yorkshire Darby between Barnsley and Rotherham today, I was watching.
00:29:19
Global Sports Podcast Network
Mate, you got to get all the Darby's apart from the Darby because they're just naff.
00:29:28
Stuart

00:29:29
Marley

00:29:30
Stuart
That the original Darby, Forest Darby, maybe they'll pick us up in the cup.
00:29:33
Marley
in January. Third round of the FA Cup, Nottingham Forest will beat them 5-0 again.
00:29:40
Global Sports Podcast Network
No, it already happened, didn't it? and Was it last season? They got our under 21s drawn in the Mickey Mouse cup that they play in down in league one or something like that.
00:29:50
Marley
They didn't even get us in that.
00:29:51
Global Sports Podcast Network
Oh, no, they didn't know it was the draw because they were all saying, Oh, how off.
00:29:55
Stuart
the The way they were seeded, yeah, we assume we're going to get them, but we've got Chesterfield instead of Derby or something, yeah.
00:29:57
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah.
00:30:00
Global Sports Podcast Network
