100 Episodes Later: Lessons on Growth, Confidence & Letting Go of Perfection

We made it, 100 episodes! 🎉 I can’t believe how fast this journey has gone, and today I’m reflecting on the biggest lessons I’ve learned along the way.

From pushing through self-doubt to embracing community, these insights apply not just to podcasting, but to confidence, growth, and building something meaningful, whether it’s a business, a habit, or a whole new version of yourself.

Inside this episode:

→ Time Flies When You’re Doing What You Love – The importance of enjoying the process instead of chasing unrealistic timelines.

→ Asking for Help Is a Power Move – How outsourcing (shoutout to @FerAssists!) changed the game and why we don’t have to do everything alone.

→ Creating Your Own Opportunities Opens Doors – The unexpected ways this podcast has led to amazing connections, collaborations, and insights.

I also reflect on some of your favorite past episodes, from navigating uncertainty to the chaos of dating apps (yes, they’re still a hellscape). And if you’ve ever struggled with celebrating your wins instead of always pushing for the next goal, this episode is for you.

Thank you for being part of this journey... here’s to 100 more episodes! 🫶🏽✨

00:00:00

Celebrating 100 Episodes

00:00:28
Speaker
As you can surmise from the title of the episode, this is the celebration of the 100th episode of this podcast. I am in shock, like how did we get here? Originally, to be completely transparent, I was not going to do this episode.
00:00:49
Speaker
The episode that was supposed to come out today, which will be coming out in two weeks, was supposed to be just a, not just, was supposed to be a sort of deep dive and breakdown of Era Fire by Sarah J. Mast. And that'll be coming out in a couple of weeks, but that was supposed to be today's episode.
00:01:07
Speaker
And it was pointed out to me that this is the 100th episode. So that is something to celebrate and something to really talk about and hype up. And I am so hard on myself.
00:01:23
Speaker
that I was just like, ugh, she has a point. I should do this. Like, I'm sure there's something we're celebrating here. Because I'm just, i I expect, like, almost unrealistic goals of myself sometimes in a short amount of time. Let me be clear. Unrealistic in the amount of time that I allot myself. Not unrealistic in general. So, given that, I wasn't gonna do this.
00:01:50
Speaker
But also given the fact that I'm all about celebrating wins, big or small, like literally talk to any one of my clients, current or previous.

Importance of Celebrating Wins

00:02:01
Speaker
This is, it's how I begin every single session with my clients. It's like, give me three wins. You know, whatever they are, whatever resonates. So like any of those clients will tell you that that that that's what I'm all about. So I was like, okay, Fer has a point. Let me do this. Let me sit down and think.
00:02:19
Speaker
And it, at first I was like, all the negative things and lessons learned. And I was just like, Hmm, this doesn't feel good. This doesn't feel celebratory. So I had to really sit there and like rethink everything again, to really talk about the wonderful things that I have learned in doing this, because honestly, like I, I wouldn't still be here if I didn't enjoy it.

Three Key Life Lessons

00:02:40
Speaker
So the three things that I've learned in the last 100 episodes of the Growing with Soul podcast.
00:02:48
Speaker
One, time truly goes by when you're having fun. Okay. I know it's like this old adage that we have this saying, and it might seem a bit cliche, but it is so true because girl, I don't know how we got here. I don't know how this is the 100th episode. I, I feel like I just started and maybe that's part of my like, man, like still feelings that I had originally, but it genuinely, it I feel like it hasn't been that long since I started doing this. So the fact that we're here, like I genuinely, as stressful as it has been at times, I genuinely do enjoy sitting here talking to a microphone and talking to all of you and with all of you as well.
00:03:35
Speaker
Um, originally I, I set out with the podcast with like, like I, like I mentioned, like certain goals, like I can be hard on myself. So I had certain goals for the podcast. And even though I haven't reached all of them, nor did the ones I did reach come quickly. Like I always found myself returning to this, even when.
00:03:57
Speaker
it Literally, no one was listening. like It was just like, my mom. but but but I would still come back and keep doing this, keep thinking of topics, keep you know creating content. I kept coming back to this because it is something that truly is fun for me.
00:04:18
Speaker
The second thing, which again, I've been talking about lately, if you've been listening along just this the last month, I've been harping on this. So the second thing is don't be afraid to ask for help. You think that as a life coach, I would have this like down pat, like this would be, this would be something that is just like a no brainer for me, but you know, you know how it is when like,
00:04:44
Speaker
you're talking to someone and it is so evident that they are struggling with something. But then when it comes to your own struggles, like you can't really see it because you're too close to yourself to really see because additionally, like you're able to make excuses for yourself. And like I mentioned, I'm very hard on myself. So for me, I'm just like, when I get into that mode, like I don't allow for myself sometimes, sometimes not always, sometimes I don't allow myself to be in the space to ask for help.
00:05:14
Speaker
But in doing this podcast, I have learned that especially in those times where I'm feeling that way, then I really do need to ask for help. So.

The Power of Asking for Help

00:05:27
Speaker
that is a huge, huge thing that I've learned within the last 100 episodes, especially when it comes to the goals that I had. Because I really do think that there there is a time where we have goals and maybe we're struggling to get there or we're trying to develop in some kind of a way and we're struggling to get to that point of development or healing or whatever it is.
00:05:51
Speaker
And the answer isn't necessarily trying harder. The answer is getting assistance. And frankly, that's one of the reasons why I decided to start working with Fed, because girl, I needed help. Honestly, like, okay, I just want, okay, look, like there are things that like,
00:06:12
Speaker
I have seen in working with her where I'm just like, yeah, exactly. 100% that like she does or she creates. But if you would have told me to do that same thing, I am so tired and burnt out and like, like I, like by the end of the day or by the weekend,
00:06:38
Speaker
My brain is not at like 100%. So when I get to these things, I am struggling. And then, Ferguson does it, and I'm like, oh my God, those are all the words that I wanted to say that I couldn't put onto paper or Word document, you know? So, it's not that you're, ah so if you if you feel like I do, it's not that you're incapable, it's just that Maybe you don't have enough head space and someone else can can give you a little boost, can help you out in doing that thing for you. So ask for help. If you're struggling, if you're just, you know, don't have enough head space or have enough time, ask for help. Ask for assistance. Ask for support.

Building Community Through Podcasting

00:07:28
Speaker
The third thing that I've learned in the last 100 episodes is that when you create an opportunity for yourself, you're able to meet and highlight absolutely phenomenal people.
00:07:43
Speaker
I've been able to connect and highlight wonderful coaches, other podcasters, other creatives, because I decided to do this podcast. I've been able to meet wonderful people, have great conversations with them, highlight other people's work, and then also provide knowledge to all the listeners as well, that perhaps you may not have been exposed to previously or wouldn't have been without me maybe bringing someone on who would talk about something that is is their knowledge base and not necessarily mine, like their expertise and not necessarily my expertise.
00:08:25
Speaker
and that has been phenomenal. So I've been able to bring on various different guests. i To highlight a few and some of the popular ones, there's Donata Boston, who a life coach who talked about navigating through uncertainty, which That episode is probably more relevant right now than when we first recorded it, because if you were in the same circles that I am, which you might be, if you're listening to this podcast, like there is so much fear and uncertainty right now in so many different ways.
00:08:57
Speaker
in life, just in general, because of the climate right now. So that episode's probably very relevant right now. I also got to have Jordana Tobach, a somatic coach, who helped me. She helped me personally with my depression. and I was able to have her on the podcast as well, and she was able to highlight her work.
00:09:16
Speaker
I had a health coach and nutritionist to Femke Verhulst. I hope I'm pronouncing her name correctly. She is Dutch and she works with women on a hormone balancing and nutrition. And we talked about cycle syncing, a phenomenal, phenomenal resource there.
00:09:33
Speaker
I was able to talk about overcoming fear with Richard Connor, who is a fitness enthusiast and the founder of Inspire to Run. And that was a phenomenal conversation as well. And being able to speak with him and highlight his work and how he created a community around that too, absolutely phenomenal. And being able to highlight his work, highlight his community too.
00:09:54
Speaker
I wouldn't have been able to do that without creating this opportunity for myself, which literally was me just thinking about how else can I, one, highlight my work and two,
00:10:10
Speaker
produce content in a new way that is like fresh and invigorating for me as well. Cause when you choose on social media all the time, I don't know about you, but like social media just feels like high pressure or it can. Whereas when you do something like this, it's a little bit more long form. So you're able to just like ha breathe a little bit and like hash out a thought a little bit more.
00:10:35
Speaker
Not that I prefer long-form content per se, but I do appreciate it. like And maybe that's just me kind of being like an old-school YouTube girlie because 2010's YouTube was my jam. okay like I will watch a vlog. like I will watch a vlog and be happy. Anyway, before I go up on that tangent, like being able to just connect with amazing new people and being able to highlight people's work is phenomenal. Like I, I knew, I knew Donata, I knew Jordana already through coaching and the life coaching that I did, but Femke and Richard and other people that I've highlighted and had a guest had as guests on the podcast.
00:11:20
Speaker
I met them because I started this. I met them because I had this platform and I wanted to bring fresh new voices on here as well, as well as also find people out there so that I can connect with more people because I did this.
00:11:41
Speaker
So that is one of the things that I've learned. Like when you create opportunity for yourself, you are able to meet phenomenal people who are going to be on your wavelength. You might be able to even create amazing community, become part of amazing communities. And that in and of itself can truly change your life.

Top Episodes Recap

00:12:03
Speaker
Within these 100 episodes, you all had your favorites. And I went back and I went to look to see what the top episodes were. And I always find it a little bit surprising. if um The very top episode is another failed talking stage. So I took a little time at the beginning of the podcast to talk about dating.
00:12:26
Speaker
At the time, it was top of mind. Since then, the topic of dating has been a little bit distant from my mind and from my life. trans again With transparency, it's just been distant in all ways. But also as a coach,
00:12:45
Speaker
Like if you're looking to like start dating again, that's not my forte. I did work with a couple of clients who wanted to focus on dating and a wanted to find a relationship. and I'm a self-esteem and confidence coach. I'm not a dating coach. So that's one of the reasons why I've steered clear. But that episode for whatever reason, you loved it. The other episode that again was up there was navigating uncertainty or navigating uncertainty with grace, a conversation with Donata Boston. So again, you guys love that one. And Donata, like she, she is just so well put together, so poised, so graceful. And like,
00:13:24
Speaker
No BS when she talks love it the other one that you guys like the top three The third episode that you liked was just an intro to me getting to know me which thank you I appreciate that and Then the fourth one in terms of in the top five the fourth is the conversation with femka What is cycle sinking and how can it help me? so phenomenal talking a little bit more about hormonal and physical health. But honestly, as any woman will tell you, our hormones and our cycles, they impact our mental and emotional health most definitely. so
00:14:05
Speaker
pertinent topic there. And the top fifth episode out of all of them again goes back to dating. So dating apps, a hellscape. but And I haven't listened to that episode probably since I first recorded it. But again, you all were really interested in the dating. Again, I'm not a dating coach, but I, from from what people tell me, I've never been on a dating app, but from what the people tell me, what my friends tell me, they are still very much a hellscape. So that one is probably still very pertinent and I'm, I don't know, maybe, maybe, maybe they're kind of going out of fashion. From what I see on TikTok, it seems like people are not going to be using dating apps as much anymore. I know personally with my friends, they're not on them as much anymore either.
00:14:52
Speaker
But those are your top, top five episodes. So something for me to think about moving forward really, but overall so much fun. Like I had fun recording all of those. I had a fun meeting Femke. You know, I've since went back to like, look at her content as well. And she's narrowed down. It looks like her, her niche to Dutch speaking people. So now I want to look at her content. I have no idea what she's saying, but.
00:15:19
Speaker
phenomenal, phenomenal stuff. Um, so overall, I'm just, I'm really appreciative of, of all of you joining me every couple of weeks. And those of you who have been here from the beginning, I definitely appreciate you. Every single person who has followed along, listened to an episode, liked and reviewed, like it's all helped. It's all, it's all been,

fun and thank you for supporting me in that way and If you've stuck around this long in this episode, I definitely appreciate you Thank you for tuning in to growing with soul If today's episode resonated with you, definitely subscribe, follow along, leave a review.
