Welcome everybody to another edition of Speedway Stories. It's your boy Wally and Johnny Bong's here. As you guys can see here, where' I'm going to talk about my wonderful weekend, even though it was a little cold. This cruise for a cure that was put on by the networks and my good friend, Corey Butcher, and his wife, Amber, of Webrook Garage.

Next thing you know, we started talking about S10s and hot rods and everything and kind of became friends. So Corey's been talking about this event for what? Probably nine months at least.
Building and Showcasing the S10 LS Swap

Maybe a year. um yeah And I've been but in the middle building this S10 LS swap that I've got going on. And I've just been working towards it like, man, I really want to make that cruise. Like that's been my goal.

And I missed the Hocking Hills cruise that Corey put on back in the fall. ah So this came up and was like, man, I'm going to all I can to make it for this. So I got the truck running before last winter before this one, I guess.

And ah everything came together, perfect timing. and i was able to make the cruise and the first outing with the S10. And it was the first cruise that me and my wife have ever really been on where we got to be the drivers and be a part of it. So definitely a fun experience. So.

He comes in on Wally's Motorsports World every now and then and always gives me shit in the chat. so But yeah, this man creep repeat this man, for what it was that Corey put on and stuff, I i mad kudos, round of applause to Jimbo because I would have never been able to do what he did on a motorcycle Saturday. so Yeah, yeah he ah he was bundled up so tight and everything. I was just glad to finally get to meet him in person, and then you realize he's froze to death. Yeah.

So I didn't get to talk to him much for a couple of times. told me his favorite old-time car, his dream car, is a 57 Biscayne.

Um, because normally when he's done stuff like this, usually he lets something slip, but to have the family being part of the cruise as well, that was even, that was icing on the cake.

They're a great family. i was I was glad to be part of that and talking with him and stuff. and it It was neat, man. Yeah, that was wild the whole time. like he He didn't tell me until think it was Wednesday. He's like, dude don't say a word. i swear. he is your family's going to be with us. and i I thought he said something about they had a Mustang they were bringing, but it was cool to see the trucks. i I enjoyed seeing a bunch of different stuff. We had a kid show up in a Type R Civic. There was that Blazer that came along.

And that was her tow truck that she tows her bracket car with every weekend. An 86 Super Coupe Thunderbird. I pulled up a picture of it. I like i asked, ah who was it? i think she's friends with Zach and Katie. They're in part of the Ford Club.

And Zach and Katie were like, oh, yeah, that's so-and-so with the Thunderbird. And I'm like, what? There's a reason why the Mustang didn't get the car.

Well, for the whole weekend, for one, is the car museum that we got all to go to. To see all that old muscles and everything and the trucks and cars there. That place was phenomenal.

um To be that close to some of my dream personal dream vehicles that i you know I've always seen on TV or at the racetrack. But to see them where they're streetable...

and get pictures and be that close. It was phenomenal. And I seen my dream car. My 66 Fastback was there, and it was actually the color that I wanted eventually one of the days if I ever got one.

It was the two-tone purple and black that they had sitting there. um I got to see it in person. Basically, it's like that's what I envisioned. But yeah, other than that, that was fucking phenomenal.

um The Lighthouse, Port Clinton, Never been been to Put-in-Bay and stuff like that. But to go to Port Clinton and see the lighthouse, the weather cooperated for us other than the wind. That was the highlight. And my wife ended up in the water.

Friday night, I woke up shivering. She had the window open. and It's like 42 degrees outside. i was like, I'm going to stab you. Shut the window. What are you doing? like she's she If it's not an Eskimo room, she doesn't sleep. I'm the same way. whatever yeah I can't sleep. I was the same way. so We'll start with Talon.

I mean, first of all, the house, I was like, oh, it's a really nice house. was like, oh, we're pulling into there. That's where the museum is. It's like, holy shit.

I'm a little partial, but I like the 63 Nova wagon. That was my favorite car there. so There's a shout-out to the Speed Shop, jim James Fox. Go, jim James Fox. ah It was one of our stops, our last stop Saturday up there in Toledo.

He had all the old, like, what it, 3100s, and then, yeah, he jumped over to the C10s on the right, and it was like... yeah It was cool because they're mixed bag, too.
