00:02:13
Speaker
Ah, interesting. What time of the year? um Around Halloween. Yeah, that's exactly when we stop wearing the the girl the garlic around our necks. We get a break because all the vampires are going to that spot.

The Warrior Shaman System: Origins and Philosophy

00:03:03
Speaker
Now, Bogdan, please, can we start by you explaining a little bit about who you are and your backstory, please? Sure. um I grew up in a small town ah in Romania.
00:03:16
Speaker
It's called Tecuc. And, you know, the elders say that the meaning of the the city is to flow. And that's a bit what my life was like. You know, I flowed with different doors that opened in my life. I left the country when I finished high school, went to study hospitality and tourism management in Greece.
00:03:40
Speaker
But I had this love for martial arts that was inspired by my cousin, actually, who's a karate black belt. In college, I fell in love with two things, with personal development and fell in love deeper with martial arts.
00:03:56
Speaker
And when I finally came back to Romania, I decided to open up a school, but My luck was that I struggled massively in the first year with the martial arts school.
00:04:07
Speaker
Actually, we have a saying in Romanian, every kick in the ass is a step forward. Yes. The gift of that was that I decided to work with a coach, a mentor, right? He was a marketer helping other coaches. And funny enough, he was also a fitness specialist that ran multiple gyms.
00:04:25
Speaker
After I described but what I was doing in the school, he said, look, you don't have a martial arts school. You have a personal development through martial arts program. And that moment, my eyes lit up. I said, oh, my God.
00:04:39
Speaker
the truth The two things that absolutely love the most, I could combine them like a yin and yang into something harmonious. And that's what we did. you know, for six years, i taught people Wing Chun, the martial arts style that Bruce Lee started out with and always combined with personal development.
00:05:00
Speaker
People were having a lot more success in their careers. They were attracting um relationships that were a lot more congruent, a lot more authentic to themselves, finding a lot more confidence.
00:05:13
Speaker
And that's kind of where my coaching journey started. And in time, I realized that what I really, really, really loved more than teaching people how to kick and punch was having deep, meaningful, transformational conversations with people, telling them what nobody dares to to tell them.
00:05:35
Speaker
The cases of higher level entrepreneurs... That's usually the truth. Nobody dares to tell them the truth. yeah And that's how my coaching journey started. Later on, i realized I was initially I started as a mindset coach, but I realized that I was more of a shaman than i wanted to accept at the time because I would heal stomach aches, headaches with energy work.
00:06:02
Speaker
Even back when I was like 13, 14, I always had this deep connection with energy. But there was also this very grounded, well-rooted um connection to the physical.
00:06:15
Speaker
So I realized that like the idea of flowing, right, of adapting to a new challenge, This philosophy of yin and yang always followed me along my my journey along my path So the warrior shaman is the combination between the energy, the metaphysical, that's the shaman aspect, right?
00:06:39
Speaker
You could call it, let's say, the law of attraction, the manifestation, the be who you be the most successful version of you now, and you will attract and manifest clients, opportunities that you never thought were possible.
00:06:57
Speaker
And the second aspect is the warrior. That's the courage aspect, the element of confidence, going after bigger deals, doing things you never believed you could do, getting out of your comfort zone daily, starting the day with the uncomfortable.
00:07:13
Speaker
Right. Those are that kind of the two elements to amplify. But then we couple that with very personalized, tailor made strategy. So there's a third element actually to the warrior shaman system.
00:07:27
Speaker
That's the business owner mindset. Right. That's where we dive into specific targeted business strategy for scale.

Developing Skills and the Warrior Mindset

00:07:36
Speaker
Right. so in yeah in lots of ways then what you're saying is that we all have skills knowledge and talents and that's the part of the the shaman the shaman is we all have things within ourselves which will help us create the ideal life the be the best version of ourselves if we recognize that we have these skills knowledge and talents
00:08:01
Speaker
And if we then um accept them and put them into action, but sometimes most of us, I suspect, here need that warrior mindset as well to actually say, yeah, that is me.
00:08:15
Speaker
Let me be me. Let me have the courage to go into that room and be me rather than the person that everybody else expects me to be. And then you build the individual, you but and as a result of building the individual,
00:08:31
Speaker
you can then build the business as well. Actually, they are in a sense intertwined. um The shaman philosophy, it has more to do with, yes, recognizes recognizing those resources, that inner power that you already have, but What the shaman energy does is just cleaning up the garbage in the, um what do you call them? Like where the water flows, right?
00:09:01
Speaker
Taking out all of those blocks that are clogging up the arteries of the energy flow, of the power flow, right? Like limiting beliefs, like fears of success, fears of not being enough, fears of um being an imposter, limiting beliefs around money.
00:09:19
Speaker
Whereas the warrior, the warrior goes into battle without knowing what's going to happen. Right? yes It's kind of this idea of everybody wants to go to heaven, but nobody wants to die.
00:09:34
Speaker
The warrior is like, I don't care. Right? I live for my vision. have for my mission. I will die for my mission. I will die on the battlefield doing what I love doing, what I believe in.
00:09:47
Speaker
And the best fighters are the ones who are ready to die. Yes. Right. It sounds dramatic. It sounds drastic, but that level of freedom, because that's really what it is. It's a level of freedom of looking life in the eyes and saying, give me your best shot.
00:10:07
Speaker
Yes, this is one of those things where it reminds me of a story that i once heard. There are two cars. One was called the Mini, which was a car in the 60s and um now is obviously made by BMW.
00:10:24
Speaker
And the other one was the Volkswagen Beetle. And they both had the potential to be the global car, the car that was available in every country. And I heard a story that said, like, the Beetle, the Volkswagen Beetle became the global car because someone in Volkswagen went into the meeting and said, I believe in this vehicle.
00:10:47
Speaker
This is what we need to do. If you don't want me to do it, I'll go somewhere else. And no one did that with the mini. It was always like, this is the market. This is the person that's going to buy it.
00:11:00
Speaker
this is This is what we do. I'm reminded as well, listening to you explain that, of Michael Bloomberg. who is a billionaire, former mayor of New York.
00:11:12
Speaker
And the story that I hear may be folklore. There are certainly some elements of folklore to it, I'm sure. But he had an idea. He went to his employer. They told him it was a waste of time.
00:11:23
Speaker
And he said, well, I'll have to go and do it somewhere else then. And he set up Bloomberg and created a business based upon his vision, based upon his dream that other people had ridiculed. But he said, I will put to my my income, my livelihood on the line for what I believe in and was therefore successful.
00:11:44
Speaker
It is putting those sorts of things into perspective is that you don't need to be a billionaire. You don't need to have the business idea that could make you a billionaire.
00:11:55
Speaker
There's everybody at every level in every organization will have that moment where they think my boss is about to do something wrong. There is a better way of doing this, all sorts of things. But they have that moment where they have to decide, do I speak up?
00:12:13
Speaker
do i put my head on the block? Do I speak truth to power? Do I be the odd one out and say, actually, I'm not sure. I'm not going with the flow. I'm not following the crowd.
00:12:26
Speaker
I have an opinion. I need to voice that opinion. I need people to understand the different perspective and then we can move forward. But it's, it's, we all have that,
00:12:40
Speaker
30 seconds where we have that opportunity to focus the energy on doing the right thing for the project at the right time or sacrificing to ourselves our integrity because we didn't speak up.
00:12:59
Speaker
We didn't say what was happening and we exchanged that for the financial security of our salary because we haven't upset anyone.

The Power of Vision in Personal and Business Growth

00:13:08
Speaker
yeah i mean it's you know it's also it depends on the organization you're in right and that speaks a lot more to uh the company culture than rather than the individual right But just to kind of backtrack a bit, you know, um my system has two so four steps, right? The first step is exactly what you mentioned right now, getting super, super clear on the vision or rather creating a vision that will pull you forward. Because if you have a powerful vision, you don't need motivation anymore.
00:13:42
Speaker
Yes. If you need motivation, it means that either number one, you haven't found your vision or the truth more likely than not is that you do have the vision. You know what you what difference you want to make in the world, but you don't believe you can.
00:14:00
Speaker
Yeah. So the motivation is almost the artificial thing that you have to have. You have to find within yourself or someone else has to give you an incentive that motivates you to do something which may not help you fulfill the vision of your life or the work that you want to do.
00:14:19
Speaker
yeah But you do it because you're being paid. Because if you do it, you get a big car. There's a big bonus. Whatever it is, you are not being true to yourself. a ah hundred percent If you can say you feel demotivated or unmotivated or you're lacking motivation, it's because what you're trying to do is not helping you fulfill your vision.
00:14:42
Speaker
There's nothing wrong with wanting the, ah you know, the material stuff as well. But the question is, like, you've mentioned a few ah notable names already, but there's a reason behind these people, why these people became who they became.
00:14:59
Speaker
For example, Microsoft had a very clear and powerful vision statement back in the day, right? It was a computer on every desk. It was insane back then because they were expensive, right? There was these big lumps of machinery.
00:15:14
Speaker
But to the right people, that was an exceptionally inspiring vision, right? Because they saw the value in computers. Like, oh my God, if every single person on the planet...
00:15:27
Speaker
has a device like this, it will change the world forever. And guess what? It did. Right? So vision needs to be exciting enough, crazy enough, big enough, and scary enough to pull you and not just you.
00:15:44
Speaker
i was talking to a client the other day, like, uh, about his vision, like, oh, I want to make $5 million. Okay. okay So what, right? Who cares? Mm-hmm. If you want to attract high level people that will raise their hands, just like you mentioned, right, that will find the courage to say, hey, I don't believe that the direction we're going right now ah is getting us closer to the vision. Or i believe that the ah Mini is an amazing car and we should double, triple down on it, right? If you want people like that in your organization, they shouldn't be looking up at you.
00:16:24
Speaker
They should be looking up at the vision because it's that exciting to them, right? Like, for example, people don't show up to work for SpaceX because Elon is so funny on Twitter. They show up for work and they give their best because they want to build an interplanetary species. they want to walk They want to create Star Trek, star hopefully not Star Wars, but Star Trek, right? Star Trek.
00:16:49
Speaker
The show that they watch when they were kids, they want to create that in real life, right? Yes. that's That's the thing that fires them up, yeah right? So yeah you need your your team to be looking up at the vision, not at you.
00:17:03
Speaker
it's It sounds as if if you have a vision and you can communicate the vision, then you don't need to be a leader. You don't need to be a manager.
00:17:15
Speaker
I think it was Barack Obama who said that leadership is, is a vision times communication. Love it. Yeah. It's your communicating the vision of what it is that you're going to achieve and enable other people to do that.
00:17:32
Speaker
It's like, you know people in a management world, people get objectives that are smart objectives and there's that achievable and realistic in that. I, I like to take those out and replace them with you for unbelievable so that you know when you finish work at the end of the day, yeah you can go home and and say to yourself, I never thought that I would be able to do that.
00:17:54
Speaker
Yeah, we're speaking the same language. I never thought that I would have had the opportunity to do that. and It's, it's like, yeah, the stretching, stretching yourself almost by surprise.
00:18:08
Speaker
But you have to, um if you have the vision, and that is communicated well to you and your role in the fulfillment of that vision is communicated well then you can expand yourself to fill the vision to fulfill the vision which then expands you the vision that you can have for yourself a hundred percent a hundred percent right what we yeah weve There are four parts to the to the model, and we have spent a lot of time talking about the first part.

Exploring the Warrior Shaman System's Four Components

00:18:43
Speaker
And i think we're going to have to invite people back to talk about the other the other three and separate episodes of The Independent Minds. but Sure. nope to Just like tell me what are the other three aspects of the Shaman Warrior model that you've developed?
00:19:02
Speaker
So part number two is the shaman, right? The shaman's philosophy is turning shit into gold, turning your limitations into the biggest reasons why you will become a huge success, right? A lot of people use their backstories as reasons why they can't.
00:19:20
Speaker
And when you flip that switch... People like us don't do this sort of thing, yeah. Yes, it turns into all of the reasons why can't. the The third part is the warrior, right? Bruce Lee said, don't wish for an easy life. Wish for the strength to endure a hard one.
00:19:40
Speaker
And if you set out to conquer this big vision, it's going to be hard, right? Yes. But guess what? You're more than equipped to handle it.
00:19:53
Speaker
But you don't believe that because these resources haven't awakened in you yet. Hmm. And the fourth part is the business owner mindset, because if you have a vision that you can achieve by yourself, this is a quote from Rich Litvin.
00:20:09
Speaker
You're not thinking big enough, right? So the business owner mindset is ah essential because the business owner thinks in terms of systems and teams, and there is no way you will have a global impact because a big vision is not just I want to make five million dollars.
00:20:27
Speaker
Like I said, who cares? You want to be clear on on how you're making the world a better place by you making $5 million, dollars right? Are you donating? Are you awakening more people to their power? Are you sharing more abundance in the world? What are you doing? What's the difference you're making, right?
00:20:44
Speaker
So to be able to do that, you need to start thinking in terms of systems and teams and giving yourself time. This is the biggest, biggest challenge for any entrepreneur or any solopreneur, even for entrepreneurs with teams. I noticed this, you know,
00:20:58
Speaker
we get caught up or there's this habit of getting caught up with putting out fires. Most entrepreneurs never give themselves the time to step back and step into the observer mindset, look at the business as a whole, see what's working, what's not working, what can be amplified. Right.
00:21:17
Speaker
And that is the business owner mindset, stepping back to see the bigger picture and asking yourself, is this getting us closer to the vision? Or is it pushing us a away? you can do that for employees. You can do that for a new system, a new software.
00:21:32
Speaker
Everything, every every every single decision goes through this filter. Yes, it's with my HR professionals hat on.

Meaningful Work and Societal Contribution

00:21:41
Speaker
I think we are increasingly being told that candidates and employees are looking for work in organizations that is something bigger than just work.
00:21:53
Speaker
A hundred percent. where the organization has a role to play and is making the world a better place. 100%. where they can be impressed by themselves for working in an organization and other people will respect them because of the organization that they work for.
00:22:09
Speaker
And you've explained something of the reason how that works in

Conclusion and Future Invitations

00:22:13
Speaker
there. So there is just too much to talk about in one episode of The Independent Minds. So we will come back to look at each of these in more detail.
00:22:25
