Welcome to the first episode of Growing With Sol in 2025!  I’m Marisol, your host, and I’m so excited to kick off the year with this glow-up episode, where I share the transformations happening behind the scenes and what you can expect from the podcast moving forward.

In this episode, we’ll explore:

  1. My reflections on entering 2025 and setting goals for the new year.
  2. The Podcast Glow-Up! What’s new, including upgraded production quality and consistent episode schedules.
  3. Small Steps, Big Impact. How focusing on one thing at a time can lead to sustainable growth and success in life and healing.
  4. Books + Healing. Why incorporating books, both fiction and nonfiction, into your healing journey can be transformational (and fun!).

I also share my gratitude for my incredible podcast manager, shoutout to @FerAssists for producing this podcast with love!

Introduction to 2025 Episode

00:00:02
Speaker
Hello beautiful souls and welcome to the first installment of the Growing With Soul podcast in 2025. I am your host Marisol Moran and I cannot believe that it is already 2025. I am definitely in a little bit of shock that we are already here. um I also can't believe that I'm going to be turning 35 this year. That is absolutely crazy to me. Though right now I do feel all 35 of my years because, well, I'm not feeling my best.
00:00:30
Speaker
I've been suffering with a little bit of a cold for about almost a week at this point, and you can probably hear it in my voice. I am still a bit congested. I have my hot tea with me. I have a honey ginger tea, which I'm definitely going to need since I'm going to be speaking for quite a bit, recording a couple of episodes back to

New Year Motivation and Podcast Purpose

00:00:47
Speaker
back.
00:00:47
Speaker
um But I am very excited for the start of any year. I think that it is going to be a good one. And one of the beautiful things that I think comes around at this time of year is that so many people have the opportunity and like the energy to build momentum and motivation to create wonderful change in their lives.
00:01:07
Speaker
so That is definitely something that I want to talk about, but definitely within this particular episode, talking about the glow up this podcast has gone through and also give a little bit of a reintroduction. So let's go ahead and get into it.
00:01:22
Speaker
For those of you who are new here, welcome. I'm so happy that you are here. I appreciate you being here. and The Growing With Soul podcast. So this is a space that I created because I wanted to take a little bit of time to provide essentially you the the space to breathe, to just be, and to learn a little something that will help you on your healing journey.

Marisol's Coaching Focus

00:01:49
Speaker
For those of you who do not know, I am a certified life coach and I do specialize in self-esteem and confidence building. I work with individuals in healing emotional wounds, in radically accepting themselves, that is a huge component of what I do, and essentially in building themselves back up.
00:02:09
Speaker
And throughout that entire process, it is a constant reminder to focus on one thing at a time, then to try to do everything all at the same time. I bring that same ethos here to this podcast. Sometimes we can make the greatest changes through these smallest steps. So if you only ever Take one thing away from an episode that you are listening to That is enough there is so much that sometimes we can feel like we need to quote-unquote fix or like we need to Change about how we think how we're behaving how we're operating or even about ourselves that it might feel overwhelming or we might
00:02:56
Speaker
Conversely, we might have so much motivation, so much energy to do all these wonderful things and to make all these great changes and developments. And then we go forth trying to do all of them at once and then we crash and burn. And then we feel almost like jaded and we want to prevent that.

Podcast Features: Guests and Books

00:03:15
Speaker
And that's why I think that often if we just take the time to breathe, the time to be, the time to accept who we are and where we are and focus on one thing at a time, we can make the most amazing changes in our lives. From time to time on this podcast, I do bring in guests um and I do highlight different methodologies when it comes to coaching, when it comes to even therapy, when it comes to maybe mindset changes. I like to bring people in who are specializing in various other things so they can highlight you know what they do and how it's beneficial and how it can be incorporated also into day-to-day life as well.
00:03:56
Speaker
and just essentially deep dive into various topics related to health and wellness and related to mental health as well. So I like to switch it up again if you guys know of anyone or would like to have me have a guest on the podcast definitely let me know I'd be happy to have anybody really who is related to what we do here on the podcast and get to meet new amazing people as well. So definitely send your recommendations. Additionally, I do also love to talk about books. If you've been around for a little bit, then you've seen me incorporate this within the last year. I did an episode where I talked about why I do this.
00:04:36
Speaker
In that episode, I discussed essentially how books and reading have been a huge component to my healing journey and essentially been incredibly beneficial to my overall mental health and wellbeing. And that's one of the reasons why I want to continue incorporating talking about books and especially fiction into this podcast. But also one of the things that I am a huge proponent of is just having fun. Like I, the amount of times that I tell people whether it's in session or in real life, like just people in my family of like, oh, I don't know why I need to do this or like, I don't know if I should do this or theyre were they're like having doubt about something and whether or not they should do something. I'm like, well, why don't you want to do it?
00:05:22
Speaker
And they gave me this, like, laundry list of reasons of why, like, it logically doesn't make sense for them to do the thing. And I'm like, but would you have fun? Would it be fun to do? And they're like, yeah, it would be fun. I'm like, then do it. Like, just do the thing because it's fun. Do the thing because you're going to have fun, because it's going to bring you joy.
00:05:45
Speaker
if that If that's the only reason to do something and like you just it's gonna bring you happiness, do it. Do it. So one of the reasons why I not only does have books and reading and all that helped me in my mental health, and I'm not just talking about just like fiction. I mean, like I have read nonfiction books that have been beneficial to my healing journey, and I will continue to read those and talk about those here too, but also just like As you may know, if you've been following me on social media, on Instagram, on TikTok, at Your Coach Marty, I've been reading a lot of romanticy lately. And why? It's just so much fun. Like, it's delicious. And like, really, that's that's why I talk about it here, too. Some of them I do think really highlight, especially like mental health journeys in and of themselves. And I do think we've learned very valuable lessons from fiction, especially fantasy. But that's a little bit biased because I've been reading fantasy since forever in a day.
00:06:43
Speaker
But I do talk about books here. As you can see, yeah I'm very passionate about it. um The nerd in me comes out very, very quickly when it comes to talking about literature. I was an English major. I'll probably say that again on this podcast.
00:06:58
Speaker
but I do talk about that every so often. If you ever have any recommendations of books that I should be reading, definitely let me know. I'm um all about the recommendations, whether they are fiction, fantasy, romanticy, or even nonfiction. I am a very slow reader in general, but also slower when it comes to nonfiction because they I've never read a nonfiction book that like sucks me in the way of a fiction book does. So I do take my time with those, but send me the recommendations i because I do appreciate them.

Collaboration with Fed and Production Updates

00:07:31
Speaker
So this is the Glow Up episode and behind the scenes I have been doing a lot of thinking, a lot of plotting, a lot of almost crying um about this podcast and one of the main things that I ended up doing at the very end of last year is reaching out to Fed. Fed from FedAssists has been absolutely amazing. We've begun working together like officially last month we started working together and
00:08:07
Speaker
It has been already a dream. It has already been absolutely amazing. So Fed is a podcast manager for coaches. And like I mentioned, she's been great to work with. At the time of recording this, Fed and I have worked on so far one episode together. And I cannot tell you how amazing it was to work with her on just that one episode thus far.
00:08:37
Speaker
because I can recall having recorded it and then there being like some glitches while recording and not really, but just thinking like, I was like, oh, they're going to be like something she's going to have to cut out because just I'm still learning you know my new platform and stuff like that.
00:08:54
Speaker
and recording it and then sending it to her. And then having now myself the time to focus on other things that I need to that i need to do and things I need to work on and having the space to do that because now Fer is here helping me with the editing and helping me with the like other stuff like the the the show notes. The show notes then in themselves that would they that she wrote I wanted to cry. and not a like like I'm being so serious right now. I recorded it, left it there for her. And then she's like, here's all the stuff. Check it out. Let me know if you like it. I was practically in tears.
00:09:42
Speaker
it was so good it was like i was i was i was just like i can't even explain to you okay because first let me let me explain maybe i can explain let me explain back in october i was trying to do some things on the back end of the podcast and i was so stressed i was so stressed trying to do this right before i left for a vacation and mind you like the first real vacation i've ever taken in my entire life like my adult life my first ever real vacation and i'm trying to do all this stuff and i've been so stressed with so many things in my personal life and my career wise like just so stressed about all these things and then all these hiccups were happening on the back end with the podcast
00:10:24
Speaker
And I had reached my wit's end and I was just like, I need help. And I had remembered Fer offering to help me about like a year ago. And I was like, okay, yeah, like i'll I'll figure it out. And like a year ago, I was very broke. So I was just like, I don't even know if I can afford anything or any kind of help right now. But I keep it in the back of my mind. Mira, a year later. So I met my wit's end right before I have like an international flight. And on the verge of tears, I tell myself, you know what, stop.
00:10:54
Speaker
You need to get some assistance with these things. You have the money to see how many people need to support you in some kind of way. Who's out there? I remember Phyrh. So I go to Instagram and I look her up. And I message her. I fill out her like little thing. And after a couple of conversations, we decide to work together.
00:11:17
Speaker
and it has been amazing so so cut to that first episode that her and I worked together and just the relief I felt and knowing that I had that support knowing that there was someone out there who was going to be assisting me with the editing and the show notes and then does so in such a way where the production value is better and she captured my voice in the show notes like as a chef's kiss like I really wanted to cry happy tears so in terms of the global what can you expect like other than just that production value being a lot better like fair gracias but additionally more consistent episodes so one of the things that I mentioned is being so stressed and overwhelmed and and like I mentioned with my career like
00:12:07
Speaker
I would love to do this full time.

Release Schedule and Social Media Updates

00:12:10
Speaker
I'm not right now. So, you know, I have a lot going on in terms of my professional life. So time is always of the essence, but essentially the consistency previously was not the best, but it will be now. So Mark consistent episodes.
00:12:28
Speaker
Currently, I'll be posting episodes every two weeks on Monday mornings at 5am PST, though the goal is eventually to begin to upload every Monday, so every week. For the time being, though, it will be that biweekly posting, like I mentioned earlier, smaller steps to commit to before you make drastic changes tends to work a lot better for most people. I'm definitely one of those people. So, you know, we'll see how it goes. Maybe for Q2,
00:12:57
Speaker
we'll do once a week, but we're gonna start a little bit slow to build up that momentum with Biweekly for now. The next thing is also new podcast art. So if it's not here already on on the podcast as of now, it will be for the next episode, but I'm very excited for the new podcast art. Then also consistent video clips on social media. That's one of the things that I've been wanting to do for a while,
00:13:24
Speaker
And I've done a lot of work on the back end in order to figure out how to make that happen. And then now with Phair as well helping along, it's definitely going to be possible to have much more video content available for the podcast on social media, especially on Instagram. And also, well, if TikTok sticks around, we'll see, but on TikTok as a well. And then the Gormut soil podcast does have its own IG handle, which is at growingwithsoilpod.
00:13:52
Speaker
So it'll be linked below, but definitely check it out. Follow along there as well. And honestly, just overall, in terms of the glow up, the editing, the first episode that Fert did, it was great. So I'm looking forward to see what she has to bring in the next months and coming year. So yeah.

Future Excitement and Listener Engagement

If you have any topic or book, like I mentioned earlier, that you would like me to cover or to read, definitely leave a comment. Let me know.
00:14:35
