Welcome to Tony's Game Lounge, a biweekly podcast that covers everything in the world of video games, TCG, tabletop, and more. Here's your host, Tony14. Hello, everybody, and welcome back to another episode of Tony's Game Lounge. I'm your host, as always, Tony14, and joining us this week, the return of the legendary speedrunner, the creator of the guides to help you speedrun Sonic Adventure 2, T-Trader 1.
00:00:38
Speaker
Hello. Welcome back. Welcome back. Thank you. It's fun to be back. I get to talk about more things, more random things.
Hot Takes and Graphics Debate
00:00:49
Speaker
Yeah, we you do, which is always great. Speaking of random things, we got a brand new intro segment for returning guests. Oh, yeah. And it can be random each time because we don't know what it is. It's hot takes. Oh, give us your hottest video game take.
00:01:07
Speaker
Oh, I don't know if I have many good hot takes. Oh, here's one. um
00:01:17
Speaker
Most games, there's never a need to get like a good graphics card. Just have like a cheap one. Game is running at 60 FPS. That is the maximum I need. I don't really care for more. OK, so performance for performance mode is better than graphics mode is your hot take.
00:01:38
Speaker
True. Well, OK, to be fair, except for e-sports titles, except for e-sports titles, in which case I'm like, give me as much FPS as possible. Other than that, literally just does not matter. OK, that's fair. That's fair. That's ah that's a decent take. um I don't know if you've ever heard what my hot take is. No, what is it? So I think Mario 64 is a bad game casually.
00:02:05
Speaker
I feel that honestly. I the game for what it did for modernizing 3D platformers, because let's be real, if it wasn't for Mario 64,
00:02:19
Speaker
certain franchises and games probably never would have taken that jump. Yeah, for sure. I think it's it was good for its time. I think it's still fine, but it definitely is showing its age. yeah It's not a game that just feels timeless.
00:02:33
Speaker
Yeah, it doesn't like speed running it is fun because I think I think speed run because speed runners have everything down. It's like with how clunky that game is. It's that nowadays it's like you see the speed runners doing you're like, oh, okay. Yeah, this is I totally understand the appeal of speed running this but casually I just can't anymore.
Speedrunning and Casual Play
00:02:51
Speaker
I i completely agree.
00:02:55
Speaker
Nice. Honestly. No, honestly, yeah, I think there are a lot of games where speedrunners believe that it is a better game casually than it is just because they're so used to the mechanics. A lot of the issues just aren't there for them. Yeah.
00:03:14
Speaker
No, definitely, especially, especially you also saw lot a lot of speed runners have like hours upon hours in these games as well. That is just a second nature to them to play it casually and not do the, the speed strats. Even though they probably implement that a couple of speed strats when they do play it casually anyways. Yeah, for sure. I mean, that's exactly why like.
00:03:38
Speaker
i I understand that there are issues with like SA2 even though I enjoy the game. That being said, I'll still fight you on it if you say it's bad. Ready to go to war, got the pitchfork sharpened and everything. Like I understand there's issues. I'm still gonna fight you either way. I know you're in the right, but um I don't care.
00:04:00
Speaker
ah uh i'm sure that's the same with mario 64 oh i'm sure it is i'm sure it is like i've had like a couple friends of mine who are like i'm ready to fight you behind a 7-eleven i'm like oh okay okay all right i guess it's guess it's time
00:04:21
Speaker
7-11 9 p.m ready to win over 9 p.m behind the 7-11 time i gotta bring my fire emblem home he's with me as well because uh i know that's the one jumping me is my is my nintendo insider uncle red i gotta hit them with the craig
00:04:40
Speaker
Yep Throwback if you want to understand a lot of the jokes I made there go back to episode 20 of the first season Episode 20 and 21 back when Tony's game badge was still an infant in this podcasting game go Go check out that old school episode and you'll understand why Getting jump behind a 7-eleven with fire emo characters um makes sense Alright it why not check out the rest of the episodes as well. I Some of them, not gonna lie, ah you can hear the quality difference with a lot of them now.
Digital Goods Ownership and Licensing
00:05:16
Speaker
It makes it even more fun.
00:05:20
Speaker
um Moving into our headline of the week, I had two choices, not going to lie. There were two things I could have chosen this week. And the reason I didn't go with the terror leak for Pokemon that happened, um they're starting to DMCA things. so That's why that's just going to be in a regular news story and not the focus of the headline of the week this week. Fair enough. Our headline of the week is a California licensing law a new California bill AB 2426 was signed into law recently by governor Gavin Newsom on This is an attempt to bring transparency to transparency to buying and selling of digital goods like movies, ebooks, and video games. This is mostly because of the Ubisoft pulling the crew off of stores, but then also revoking the licenses that people had of the game back in December. So even if you own to the game, they legit like, yeah, now you don't anymore.
00:06:19
Speaker
Oh my god, I remember that when that happened. That was huge. It was such a big nightmare that Ubisoft just pulled that out. makes It made people a lot more aware of the fact that you don't own an online game, you own a license to the game.
00:06:38
Speaker
ah California Assemblymember Jackie Irwin introduced the bill in part after hearing about Ubisoft's move with the crew. The law won't change the fact that we're still licensing the games instead of actually owning them, but this does force companies that operate in California at least to be transparent about it. So that means on Steam,
00:07:00
Speaker
or any other game service, and write any any other service that gives you the stuff digitally. It's like, hey, you're not actually owning the game. This is a license for the game. They have to now explicitly say that, which I think in part is a good step in the right direction, obviously, because it's like, oh, OK, if they.
00:07:17
Speaker
It's not like getting us getting blindsided for those who really like don't really understand the difference still. It's not like us getting blindsided like that. Yeah, absolutely. I think i just do this any extra transparency is a good thing. Yeah, no, it definitely is.
00:07:32
Speaker
um The law is expected to go into effect on January 1, 2025, so this will prevent companies that operate digital storefronts from using words like purchase or buy unless the company is clear that it's selling a license, not unrestricted ownership interest in the digital good. This notice will have to be distinct and separate from other terms and conditions of the purchase according to the text.
00:07:57
Speaker
The law does not apply to subscription based services, ah free downloads like demos or companies that offer permanent offline downloads of digital goods. And of course, the companies will be fined for breaking the rules, which again, I sure hope so.
00:08:15
Speaker
ah Honestly, yeah, that would be very nice. ah yeah Honestly, anytime licenses get brought up and how companies can be really shady, I am just so lucky Steam hasn't done anything sketchy like that.
00:08:31
Speaker
Yeah, nothing super sketchy that we know of yet. Who knows? they Yeah. Gabin could be ah a real underground syndicate crime lord right now. um Only taking 15 years to do it. Yeah. Well, I mean, well, yeah, like he like I bet this is his third go around at this and let's just be real. Gabin doesn't know how to count to three. Oh, fair enough. So, like,
00:08:57
Speaker
Let's be real, i don't think i I think we're fine. Like the second game it counts to three, we're all screwed. that's That's what we should be scared about is if like Half-Life 3 gets announced, then we should be scared.
00:09:10
Speaker
Mm-hmm. And then we have feet. Well, we don't know maybe maybe he has ah Gamers at heart who knows? I know the fact I actually know sorry the good thing gaben gaben in the number three actually does work because you have the half-life games that don't have a third one the portal games that don't have a third one and the team fortress games that don't have a third one tree franchises no third game And there's going to maybe CS3 as well, because there's already a CS2 now. ah Oh, yeah. There you go. There you go. It's it's just it's it's it's not in his. I it's not as his i just i don't know if I would say vocabulary, but like I feel like there's a better number. Yeah, there's there's probably a word. But the number three was not taught to him. It just goes one to four.
00:10:04
Speaker
Mm-hmm. Exactly. They even built different like that. ah But yeah, um so again, with the with California approving this law, I wouldn't be surprised if other states go forward and do the same thing, because usually when California kicks off something like this, it's a pretty miniscule thing too. um I'm sure that other states will probably follow in suit.
00:10:32
Speaker
Yeah, for sure. um I bet that they're mostly just kind of waiting for um November 5th to pass at and go from there.
Week in Review: Gaming News
00:10:44
Speaker
i november 5th is that when the elections or something yes that's what the election is okay okay i'm not in i'm not in the u.s i don't know i mean neither neither am i but true the reason i know this is because of a news story that we'll be getting into a little bit later so let's get right into those uh with the other news stories that happened with the week in review Recapping the major stories of video games and the world of tabletop, looking over recent releases and reports from the Game Lounge crew, it's the Week in Review.
00:11:16
Speaker
And kicking it off, some of the games that came out these past two weeks, you had Silent Hill 2, Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, Metaphor, Re-Fantasio, Super Mario Party, Jamboree, Fantasy Life Eye, The Girl Who Steals Time, and Niva all came out this past two weeks. I've been playing Super Mario Party, I actually just played it... ah I got to the end credits scene yesterday of the main game. And I've already meet reached the diamond rank in a single day. That is so crazy. it's the It's actually really simple. Legit, just play the story mode, try out the other modes, and then break every record in minigame mode. Break all the minigame records and you will legit get
00:12:06
Speaker
you know You'll get this the 50 achievements that you need to complete the Mario Party pass. And you did this in a day. In a day. Alright then. That is a lot of stuff to do in a day. Wasn't the story mode like four or something hours?
00:12:22
Speaker
oh Yeah, roughly something like that. It wasn't too, too bad. you're basically ah The story mode, I think it's it's a cool concept for Mario Party. It's like, oh, hey, we're setting up the boards for the parties. So and we're you're going around helping people out with tasks, playing mini games.
00:12:41
Speaker
And that kind of stuff is pretty cool. It's pretty fun, actually. and as And they brought back the the boss fights that were in Mario Party 9 and 10, I think and think. I know that 9 had some, I think. I don't know if 10 had them. But they brought back boss fights for that specific mode. um Yeah, it's all pretty fun.
00:13:01
Speaker
Yeah, I mean, I've been watching people play Super Mario Party and are like the Jamboree one. And it's really fun looking, especially the fact that there's a battle royale online. Yeah, Koopathalon. Yeah. And you can do Koopathalon single player as well. um But and but yeah, Koopathalon, it's a pretty solid one. It's you're you're mostly you're playing just coin collecting mini games, really. That's all it is. But it's like it's pretty solid still.
00:13:29
Speaker
Yeah, I feel like it can improve on it, but honestly, it's not bad. Yeah, no, it's pretty good. I hope, I really i really want Nintendo to like do more with Mario Party and give us a DLC or like a big free update for them to add just boards or mini games or something.
Game Releases and Updates
00:13:51
Speaker
really don't want them to do the same thing that they did with the latest Mario Party, where they just kind of are the one previous one. Yeah, just regular Super Mario Party. Yeah. And that one, I think I had that one and it was like, oh, yeah, we got it and there's nothing extra. It's just, oh, that one hurt.
00:14:12
Speaker
Yeah. Hurt to buy and realize. but Yeah. Other than that, this week has the last two weeks have had such yeah incredible games. Yeah. The big ones, of course, coming out on the same day were Dragon Ball, Sparking Zero and Metaphor Reventazio. Both the games doing incredibly well as well. Oh, my God. I really want to play Sparking Zero. You know, like I want to play both.
00:14:38
Speaker
Yeah, actually, yeah, both. I really want to play both. um You remember ah earlier before the podcast started, I was talking about how I'm upgrading my PC. My PC is below the recommended specs for Sparking Zero. excellent Wow.
00:14:55
Speaker
and So I was like, oh, oh, there's a reason to upgrade now. So many games. I would probably get Sparking Zero on my PlayStation 5 because... Makes sense. Maybe I don't have to. I mean, my PC's good. I think it's fine. I think it's good to run it. But like, I want the Platinum trophy in Sparking Zero. Because I looked at the trophy list. Sparking Zero's Platinum isn't actually all that bad.
00:15:21
Speaker
Like the only grindy thing you got to do is play 100 multiplayer matches. And oh, yeah, that reminds me of like smash with like that achievement of playing just a bunch of matches. That's not that bad, though. Yeah, no, it's really not that bad, honest honestly. So.
00:15:37
Speaker
I want to play that and then I will I want to play metaphor but legit realistically with how many RPGs I played this year at the start of the year back to back um I'm probably gonna hold off metaphor for next year considering as it's also like a persona like with social links and everything I Definitely need to like I definitely need a break still but that absolutely need a break Very fair Especially with, and I'm gonna say this, the the episode I guess DLC for Persona 3 reload, I understand why a lot of people don't like the answer. It's not because of the story, it's because of the grindiness of the gameplay for that specific one. Fuck, it's rough. It's so rough. I need to get the DLC for that.
00:16:24
Speaker
The story's good. Music's great. Fucking the battle, the the ambush theme don't. Fucking banger. Such a good banger of a song. ah Yeah, but it's just the two games are so good, but they're also so expensive for Canadian prices. man Oh, yeah, that too. Fuck that too. I love those hundred dollar plus games. you yeah ah um In the world of video game news, starting off, the Astrobot free DLC is slowly getting distributed. ah The first ah stage is out now. And if you want to just play all of them in one go, you will have to wait until ah November, a bit in November. I think early November is when the last of the stages will be added So you will have you do have a bit of time to wait I think it's November 4th or something that the last ones getting dropped, but you'll have to wait till November That in Xbox news that Xbox held a partner
Upcoming Games and Speculations
00:17:24
Speaker
preview show showcasing a little more than a dozen games
00:17:28
Speaker
um That are coming out ah within but Next year or later this year um Sort of like Nintendo's partner showcases. None of these will our first title Xbox. These are their partners that they work with um And they showed off the lake house DLC for Alan Lake 2 which drops October 22nd So very soon Grodos the new dawn was shown coming out next year blind fire which also comes out next year 2025 like a dragon pirate Yakuza in Hawaii We got the naval combat trailer and they also revealed that the game is actually coming out a week ahead of schedule now So it's now coming out on the 21st of February not the 28th Also to give you ah us a week before monster hunter wilds comes out officially now
00:18:21
Speaker
W move for RGG right there. That is great. um We got a new trailer for mouse PI for hire. This is a first person old school Disney cartoon shooter. um That looks absolutely like a gem and I will definitely play that next year.
00:18:41
Speaker
We've got some some naga 2 was announced and which is insane early access next year and It looks like multiplayer will be a part of it Potentially because there were Ooh Fun two humans in the trailer. So I think multiplayer um Animal well is now available on Xbox Eden's Zero, the third um but third anime done by Hero Mashima, is getting a video game, just like the Rave Master did back in the old days and the two fairy tale games that our that ones out and the second one's coming out. Eden's Zero is getting a video game coming out next year. And it looks like it's gonna cover everything up to essentially the first two seasons of the show.
00:19:27
Speaker
um Which again, hey ah people who do eat in zero, please dub season two. I want to watch it But I watched the first season one dubbed and I really want you guys to like get over your differences and fucking dub season two Thank you very much ah Eternal Strands was announced for 2025, Miss Fall Hunter announced for 2025, real world, no announcement date, but this is just a bike game. This is from Annapurna as well. oh ah it's ah It's a biking game. They're still making
00:20:00
Speaker
How are they still making a game? So it's again, even though the games department again, Annapurna is the publisher, not the developers, um even though they had that massive staff walkout recently. um They still have their partners are still working with whatever is left of Annapurna because they're not the developers, they're just a publisher.
00:20:25
Speaker
Uh, Phasmophobia is coming to the Series X on October 29th, just in time for Halloween. The Legend of Babu comes out in 2025. Wuchang Fall in Feathers got a trailer and looks pretty good coming out 2025. And from Remedy, FBC Firebreak, a three-person co-op. It looks like it's probably gonna be more set in the universe of control and out of the lake. So, forward to that.
00:20:53
Speaker
and That was the partner showcase. It was I didn't actually watch the showcase. I just watched a bunch of the trailers afterwards Makes sense. I mean it wasn't a lot. There wasn't really a lot like three six nine twelve fifteen Yeah, like a little over a dozen like that. It wasn't like a crazy show. So mm-hmm. Yeah ah Nintendo unveiled a brand new hardware the alarm Oh an alarm clock, which is available now for 130 US dollars. That loves to look at you. It looks at you. Yes. So this uses a motion sensor and that'll determine how it basically stops setting the alarm. and The alarm mode features Nintendo games as the all alarms itself. um And when you move in your sleep while it's going off, it'll make different sound effects.
00:21:46
Speaker
ah Currently, Mario Odyssey, Breath of the Wild, Pikmin 4, Splatoon 3, Ring, and Ring Fit Adventure are available off the get-go as alarms you can set with Mario Kart 8 and Animal Crossing New Horizons on the way as alarm sets as well. And yes, ed the key one of the key things is if you keep Prolonging the alarm clock, it'll leave this serene sounding alarm to bore intense music, including the Guardian theme from Breath of the Wild.
00:22:19
Speaker
So if you went if you wanted to get your ass out of bed, now you can. Hell yeah. ah God, that sound honestly, that would have been fine. Don't know why they needed to add the function of making a noise when you move in your sleep.
00:22:37
Speaker
It's only when the alarm goes off. It's only when the alarm is going off. I'm assuming the motion sensor then turns on. It's like, okay, time to pick up your movement. If in Mario it makes coin sounds rather than the Zelda, the rupees, Splatoon 3, it's like the ink splattering. Pikmin 4, I don't know what that one would be. Maybe it's just the Pikmin going, Pikmin!
00:23:00
Speaker
Oh yeah, or like the fighting like sounds yeah that they have. Yeah, and that ring fit, I think it's like the just some exercising sounds. Honestly, there's going to be a few of them thrown out a window. i Yeah, because it doesn't turn off until you actually it doesn't says your' until it senses you've left the bed.
00:23:25
Speaker
Which is just crazy. It's crazy. It's crazy to think that like this kind of concept for an alarm clock hasn't been thought of before, though. Honestly, yeah, it it kind of makes sense because there are so many times when you'll just hit the alarm and then go straight back to bed. Yeah. um And this is trying to fight that. Yes. And it does have a snooze function. The button on top is how you snooze it. um But again, it'll just start off. It's like, OK, time to play a bit more intense and slowly and slowly get more intense until it actually starts playing the explosion sounds to wake you the fuck up.
00:24:03
Speaker
Yeah. It's just the price is just insane. Yeah, the price and price point is a bit steep, but like yeah the for I guess it's the kind of technology for it. is i can i I understand why. so I'm waiting for the video from a YouTuber where they use like the Wiimotes sensor and an alarm clock and make it themselves for like $20.
00:24:31
Speaker
or they mod the Alarm-O. Imagine people figuring out how to mod the Alarm-O to make it even. Imagine they mod it for Doom. Oh, that would be very fun. Oh, first level, Animal Crossing, second level Doom. Doom, there you go. Perfect. That would actually be great.
00:24:52
Speaker
In collection news, Tomb Raider four, five, and six are getting a remaster collection coming out next Valentine's day. Cause what better way to say I love you than a more rendered Lara Croft.
00:25:08
Speaker
ah Certainly one way. It is bad. It is. Rockstar has finally confirmed that Red Dead Redemption, the first one, is coming to PC later this month. I think they said the 29th is when it officially released on both the Epic Game Store and Steam. I'm surprised it wasn't already. That is crazy. Yep. But it's Rockstar. They're bad. They're bad at putting things on PC right away.
00:25:36
Speaker
Yeah, they have too much money to care. Yeah, that too. ah Creative Assembly, the developers of Alien Isolation made a post on X, formerly known as Twitter and Instagram, to celebrate 10 years since the release andd announced and that work on the sequel to Alien Isolation has begun. More
Pokemon Leaks and DMCA Actions
00:25:59
Speaker
details will be shared later. And i that's pe Alien Isolation fans.
00:26:07
Speaker
They're, they're, they're, they're, they they're, they're so pretty excited. They're pretty excited. They are pretty excited. I need to ask my boy Ryan, who is a fan of that game, who was almost, I think it's one of the few games that he has like a hundred percented, um, and done everything in, uh, about that because, uh,
00:26:26
Speaker
I'm sure that he'll be playing it day one. For sure. I mean, I mean, from what I've heard, a lot of people have just been very, very excited to hear about the fact that they remember the game. Yeah, that too. OK, I teased it at the start. Pokemon.
00:26:43
Speaker
Pokemon had a terror leak. Game Freak suffered a terror leak that included 25 plus years of ever before seen stuff. Included Pokemon art, assets, documents, canceled movies.
00:26:57
Speaker
I think with a Typhlosion, I'm going to peace out. worries yeah Nintendo has been DMCAing some things, so hopefully we don't get hit. I'm going to go very generic with this stuff. ah Included in the leak were Beta Sprites, which I think Beta Sprites are absolutely fine. yeah We've seen the Beta Sprites before in other leaks. um The Beta Sprites included Gens 3 through 5.
00:27:24
Speaker
There were pitches for a sequel to Detective Pikachu. There was concept art from the original anime, which I think is actually really cool. One of the coolest things that we got from this leak. That is something I never saw ah talked about, but that sounds amazing, actually.
00:27:43
Speaker
We got a few things from Legend ZA Which I think that's primarily what's been getting hit with the DMCA Included I mean I think this one was pretty obvious considering it was ZA is we are getting and it's the only thing I'll share we are getting a mega Zygarde which makes sense and I think we could have even theorized that Regardless, because of the name of the game. Yeah, I think it was just inevitable that it was going to be like that. Which means our our boy, the. Oh, God, what what is the power? rate the Oh, my God, the what's the Power Rangers thing called where they fuse the v this Megazord. Our Megazord boy is going to get even more mega.
00:28:32
Speaker
Yeah, now it's going to be the gigazord a Giga Zord. There was a code name for the Switch 2 that was leaked simply called ounce. So that's what the code name is for the Switch 2 apparently, which is a weird code. Yeah, it's because it costs an ounce of gold.
00:28:51
Speaker
It's a weird code name, considering we've had like a better, other cool code names like Dolphin for the GameCube. Yeah. I don't know what the Wii's was, but I mean i can't remember. They go from dolphin to ouch.
00:29:05
Speaker
Alan just sounds really funny to have as a code name. It does. And then the last thing that was leaked creation lore ah for the Pokemon world, um which a bunch of stories like which like like, sort of like mythology, which some are like, Oh, this is kind of cool to the Typhlosion.
00:29:27
Speaker
scary ones. I mean, it makes sense. It's meant to be based off mythology. And if you read mythology, oh boy, if you really deep dive into mythology because like Pegasus was like born by cutting off Medusa's head.
00:29:42
Speaker
Yeah, and like just everything that Zeus does. Yeah. um Just him in general. Yeah, Zeus in general, just ah like Zeus, if Zeus existed in 2024, I think Zeus would have been canceled a long, long time ago. Yeah, you know, or he'd be a YouTuber.
00:30:06
Speaker
of And today, guys, after I throw this bolt of lightning, I'm about to show you my seven kids. Three of them are bastards. And I'm going to go cheat on my wife again. to be Yeah. Anyway, thanks for the sponsor. We're not going to this week's ah sponsor, G Fuel. Oh, yeah. Oh, God. Oh, no. Ah, yep. For electrolytes, you know. You ever meet my homey doctor disrespect here? No.
00:30:40
Speaker
I think, you know what, I think that's Dr. Disrespect's move. He has to befriend Zeus now to save his career. Yeah, yeah.
00:30:49
Speaker
Anyways, I want to talk more about the like Pokemon leak. I ah just like very generic thing. It's kind of sad. ah The other stuff that leaked alongside the game stuff. And I'm glad that they're trying to um shut that down, basically. Yeah. um Because, you know, twenty six hundred people issues about that. It's really sad. Yeah, no, it absolutely is.
00:31:19
Speaker
is like it's like while the leaks are cool and with like stuff we get to see like the fact that it that these stuff that stuff happens in the first place it's really bad like with this stuff kind of fucking happens because it's like you know that like oh how how exactly was this stuff actually leaked like ah From what because from what I understand it was one guy who fell for a fishing scan and that's how they got in on all of this That's how all this stuff was gotten what I've heard as well. Yeah so
00:31:52
Speaker
Yeah. It's a very mixed bag there. It is an absolutely mixed bag.
Impact of Leaks on Gaming
00:31:58
Speaker
Like I think if Game Freak like every X amount of years release like beta sprites and stuff, it's like, hey guys, here's stuff from like the old games that we think you'd find really fucking cool. Even if they released it as like an art book or something like that. I would love that honestly. That would be the coolest thing ever.
00:32:14
Speaker
That would sell so well. Do you know how many people would love like an art book from Pokemon? A ah So many. I mean, clearly look at how the ah reaction was when and all the beta stuff was released. Everyone was ah so excited. Yeah.
00:32:35
Speaker
Oh, yeah. So maybe Pokemon might learn from this. Like it's like, OK, well, bad stuff done, but people really like the art. Maybe we should like make an official product for that. Who knows?
00:32:48
Speaker
Who knows? Who knows? Who knows? Because hey hey look, because Pokemon realizes people love art of Pokemon because Pokemon Pocket has already taken off with the is early release in New Zealand and people like people who like can't wait for another 12 days to pass. That's what we're recording. This is 12 days away from Pocket so to get their hands on this digital Pokemon art essentially. Dude. Oh my God. I,
00:33:19
Speaker
I feel so bad for them for the fact that they finally decided we're not going to rush a game. And then they just get hit with the biggest leak ever. Yeah. Yeah, this is this is is is one of the biggest Pokemon tabs because like and we've they've had leaks before. Like we had the gen one and two beta sprites. I think that was like a leak, but that was really all that it was. It was like that in like a couple like bits of like game details, but like nothing crazy. Exactly.
00:33:49
Speaker
ah Moving on, the community-driven mod manager from Satisfactory is now fully updated to support 1.0. So now you can play Satisfactory's full release with mods again. Yay!
00:34:02
Speaker
ya yeah ah and Forgetting the election news, Brighter Shores, the new and MMO being developed by RuneScape's creator, Andrew Gower, and his brother Paul, has been delayed. So, instead of launching into Early Access on November 5th as planned, it will now arrive November 6th. And the reason, and the creator even stated, I completely forgot, i did he didn't know that that was actually when the election was.
00:34:32
Speaker
That is, you know, that sounds so in line with the person that created RuneScape to just forget about the election. So the game is now getting delayed to after number six. ah This is as a Canadian to all the American listeners, please go vote. This is a big election for you guys. ah So please do not let your voice, don't let your voice not get heard. Go out and vote. It's your civic duty.
00:35:00
Speaker
Uh, that's, that's how, that's how political I will get on this show. Whenever there's an election, go vote. That's all I'm going to say. Make your voice heard. Make your voice heard. Do a thing. Go, go, go fill in a piece of paper. Not that hard. If they can test at school, you can go, you can go fill out another piece of paper. Potentially. Potentially. Here are a couple of trees died to make these pieces of paper, but it's only a couple of trees.
00:35:29
Speaker
but ah Probably less than the amount for like an electronic version,
Tech Giants in Gaming
00:35:34
Speaker
honestly. Yeah, yeah, exactly. um In, like, weird bragging news, I guess? Mark Zuckerberg reckons he's a civilization grandmaster who could beat any, quote, anyone in the world. ah He says, quote, I think at some point I should do a Twitch stream of me playing with someone.
00:35:56
Speaker
So this ah Zuckerberg i now thinks he's gonna start a Twitch channel soon. If it is, I think we're all doomed because the lizard if the lizard man invades Twitch, we're all fucked. Honestly, that would be really funny to watch. i It would be funny. It can go either way. Either he's actually really, really good and then everyone's like, what the hell? Or he gets like destroyed and then it's funny just in that way as well.
00:36:23
Speaker
And his first opponent is Elon Musk. Oh, he would obliterate. I think Zuckerberg would absolutely crush Musk in that.
Industry Changes and New Developments
00:36:34
Speaker
Also, still no new updates on their boxing match. so they they want They both want to fight. yeah I mean, if it happens, that would be funny. It would be. 343 Industries is dead.
00:36:53
Speaker
no They are now rebranding as Halo Studios for all future projects. Along with this, they announced that they are switching from the Slipspace engine to the Unreal Engine. so That is exciting. That is very exciting for Halo.
00:37:10
Speaker
means that they're definitely working on something big. But if they've, I wonder how long they've been on the new engine of Unreal. Well, not new as it hits you. Not new engine, but how long they've been using it. Yeah, because swapping over engines takes a while to get used to. Yeah, as we saw with Kingdom Hearts 3.
00:37:35
Speaker
um Oh, well, they had even more yeah' stuff to deal with, if I remember correctly. Yeah, it was like they were working on the game and then it was like midway through that they decided to switch to Unreal. And so it was basically everything again. That's why it took like however long it did, 10 years, something like that. But surely it won't happen again. Ahhh! Devorah, please!
00:38:06
Speaker
um four j studios the team that helped bring microsoft to consoles have revealed reforge their upcoming ob worlds multiplayer survival sandbox game ah looks like buyingcraft it's I was just about to say that just sounds like Minecraft.
00:38:24
Speaker
I don't know what it's kind of this. ah Hades 2 added its first major update, the Olympic update, which adds a new region, a new weapon, Athena and Dionysus back in the Pantheon that you can get boons from, new familiars, the crossroads renewal system, more a story, and but light and Ben Starr, the voice of Clive Rossfield, as Prometheus.
00:38:50
Speaker
Oh, that's wonderful. So now you can hear him say Prometheus is famous line. It's the me, Mario.
00:39:00
Speaker
Dude, Hades two is just it looks so good. It looks so good. I just I need to I'm waiting until it fully like i' but yeah I'm waiting for it to get out of early access. That that is what I will wait for, because I played it. I played Hades for the first time this year, like the first one. Fantastic game.
00:39:20
Speaker
Fucking it is it's a it's a great game and I'm like and I know he's he was probably just as good right now But like I'm probably gonna wait up until like I like it's officially out of early access So that way there's just more to do For sure. Yeah, and it feels like a more final product It's kind of crazy though ah because they Did you when they first released it? They were like, oh, yeah, this already has more content than Hades did Yeah, that's the craziest thing as well. How? And then they will as and when they on the day that they dropped it, they're like, oh, yes, it's out now. And everyone's like, oh, yeah, exactly. What do you mean? And it was it was out. they they they It was no like, no, oh, it's out now, everybody. I feel the curtain is just like, oh, yeah, we we dropped it today.
00:40:10
Speaker
Yeah, it was just insane. I love the team behind them, ah behind the games. It's so deserved to be as highly regarded as they are. Yeah, definitely.
00:40:23
Speaker
ah Bohemia Interactive, the developers of ARMA, revealed ARMA 4's release date, and they did it in such a strange and crazy way. They put it it um as a message at the end of a two-hour concert performed by the Czech National Symphony Orchestra to celebrate Bohemia Interactive's 25th anniversary. As the concert concluded in a blink-and-you-miss-it moment, the words, ARMA 4, coming 2027, rolled onto the screen.
00:40:53
Speaker
That is so long from now. Yes, it is a long time out still, but I think that's I think this is the first game confirmed for 2027. So good job interactive. We we have something to look forward to. At least i you I mean, let's be real. ARMA the ARMA series is the core for like a lot of games like Daisy and so many others. That's just like, holy shit. The next one. The next one is within our lifetime at this rate.
00:41:25
Speaker
Eventually, yeah. So that's a cool, interesting way to unveil that is coming, is at the end of a concert. Yeah. In a blink and you miss it moment and nonetheless, where it's like, oh yeah, if you weren't paying attention, you you probably had no clue. So it's like, oh, cool, I guess?
00:41:47
Speaker
Hey, I mean, it's it's ah it got people talking. It did. And lastly, what has the the what the but announced today? They are recording the 18th. Banjo two is coming to the Nintendo Switch online October 25th. Oh, my God. That is massive.
00:42:09
Speaker
I didn't know that really they just announced it to ah legit. Before we recorded this, I was on YouTube BAM right there. Banjo Tui NSO. I'm so happy I still have Nintendo Switch online. So this is.
00:42:27
Speaker
So congrats, folks. The last time we've been able to play Banjo, too I mean, I think you can play on Xbox because I think that backwards compatibility is on Xbox still with this might be capable. yeah But like ah Nintendo wise, this is the first time in forever that we've been able to play Banjo Tui. So.
00:42:47
Speaker
Good job. fucking Good job. Nintendo rare. Good job. Good job, guys. Good job. Thank you. ah In live service game news in Final Fantasy 14. First off, the frying egg emote is available right now on the blog station where you fried egg.
00:43:05
Speaker
it's It's a cool emote. The new Mughal Tomestone Goatia event is ah on right now and goes until the release of 7.1. And the All States Wake 2024 event is on right now as well and goes until November 4th. You can get a brand new glam reward which people have dubbed the My Chemical Romance Get Up. Because it's a black shirt, purple tie, and jeans.
00:43:33
Speaker
oh My god, hey that sounds like fun. It's actually it's a really cool glance that actually and but If you're if you want to see more of those bands in a horse yet, but they played by chemical romance They now got the fit for it. So uh That's uh, that's kind of funny In Destiny 2, a lot of Destiny 2 news. um They're off to court again, Bungie's off to court again at least. The studio is being sued in a copyright infringement lawsuit for copying parts of Destiny 2's storyline from the plaintiff Kelsey Martineau's work.
00:44:06
Speaker
Ease after damages and injunctive relief, which give which given you can't actually play the offending campaign anymore, might be a moot point. Martineau reckons that budgie, perloyed elements of a story he wrote or that was used in the Destiny 2 Red storyline, which... is For those who don't know, that storyline is entirely archived. You can't play it anymore. Base Destiny 2, it's completely different than what it was back at launch. marginal was writing under the pen name Casper Cole. He authored an original work about a unique and captivating fantasy world.
00:44:38
Speaker
It was ah published on a WordPress blog. The story introduces the notorious Red Legion, a powerful military force that's embroiled in an unending cycle of warfare. And he's like, Destiny stole this. It's it's very similar to basically that. But it's like, I don't even know if this is going to hold up. Well, regardless of whether it's still playable or not, it's the fact that they use if if it actually ends up being that ah they were I don't know the right word. If it was shown that they actually did ah plagiarize, then it will be ah something that would matter, even if it's not playable, because they still used it. so use it but then But then it comes to the question, if two people are writing the exact same book at the exact same time,
00:45:30
Speaker
Yeah, that's I mean, there are going to be the ah God, those kind of laws are so painful. Any creative is thing having to do with laws is like a nightmare. Yeah. ah And lastly, destinie too Destiny in Destiny news, Destiny Rising was announced as a brand new mobile game set in an alternate timeline of the Destiny universe. It will be a free to play sci-fi RPG shooter on mobile devices. That sounds pretty fun.
00:45:59
Speaker
It sounds interesting. i It's ah being done by NetEase. And Bungie doesn't have a lot of like ah like, it's like, oh yeah, here's the Destiny stuff. Go nuts, basically. Like, Bungie doesn't really have a big hand in this project. Just the, it's called Bungie. It's it's called Destiny. So that means Bungie's attached to it. Makes sense.
00:46:23
Speaker
yeah um In the world of TCG with Pokemon Surging Sparks releases November 8th and Pokemon TCG Pocket we mentioned earlier it's available for pre-registration right now October 30th officially releases in everywhere else that isn't New Zealand because if you're in New Zealand you're playing it right now or if you've created a New Zealand Apple or Google account you can download it on your phone like that.
00:46:48
Speaker
And you also got to use a New Zealand VPN as well. So, that too. ah The Stamps. In Yukio, the quarter century Bonanza releases on the 11th of November. Speed Duel Battle City Finals on November 22nd. Crossover Breakers December 5th. And Supreme Darkness January 23rd. In Magic the Gathering, Foundations releases November 15th. And in Lorkana, Disney Lorkana, Azure I.C. releases November 29th.
00:47:16
Speaker
I actually saw a Lorkana cards at ah indigo for the first time ever. I'm like, holy shit, it's real, real physical but comic cards.
Upcoming Releases and Personal Picks
00:47:27
Speaker
It exists. it does not even It's not just fake in our imagination. Yeah. I saw real cards and I contemplated getting them, but I'm like, no, I'll i'll i'll wait. I'll hold off before I actually really like decide to dive into Lorkana. Makes sense. And that's everything. That is everything that happened these past two weeks. Any final thoughts on any of those stories, Traitor?
00:47:54
Speaker
Need to play metaphor.
00:47:59
Speaker
Valid. ah With that, it's time for us to now look ahead to the other games that are coming out in the next few weeks. So here's what should be on your radar from October 21st to November 1st.
00:48:11

00:49:16
Speaker
On the 25th, Barbie Project Friendship comes out on everything but the Switch oddly enough. And Call of Duty Black Ops 6 comes to everything but the Switch, which makes sense. And Sonic X Shadow Generations releases for everything. Tower of Madness releases on the PC, and Wise X Nordix comes to the PS5, PS4, Switch, and PC.
00:49:39
Speaker
On the 28th, nothing releases. On the 29th, the Galaxy Conquest comes to mobile devices. Life is Strange, Double Exposure comes to PS5, Series X, and PC. This is, I believe, the follow-up to the first Life is Strange. As years later, you get to play as Max again.

And that's everything coming out in the next two weeks.
00:50:49
Speaker
um Your big ah games starting off Rivals of Aether 2 coming out. For those of you who love platform fighters, who love Super Smash Brothers, but check out Rivals of Aether 2. This game, if you've seen Rivals of Aether 1 ever played on Alpharad's channel, fuck. This game is going to be, this game, ah Rivals 2 looking pretty good. It's fucking looking great. For sure. I already have a lot of people telling me about it.
00:51:17
Speaker
um I remember that Romancing Saga 2 Revenge of the Seven was shown off at a Nintendo Direct. yeah So if you like RPGs, ah there's a good one for you. I believe it's a square RPG as well because I think Romancing Saga falls under Square Enix. So if you're looking for that Square Enix RPG, there's one for you.
00:51:39
Speaker
ah Barbie Project Friendship. The fact that this isn't coming to on the Switch is ah is highway robbery because a game like this, I think, deserves to be on the Switch. You don't have friendship on the Switch. I guess not. ah Black Ops 6. I know ah black ah this looks pretty good. I returned to like core Black Ops um with a lot of the stuff they're doing. So, feels good. The big one, Sonic X Shadow Generations. We'll be talking more about that in a little bit.
00:52:09
Speaker
Mm-hmm Buster, a lot sorry life is strange double exposure life is strange fans another game ah as Basically a proper sequel for a life is for the life is strange game series like a real proper sequel to like one of the actual games, so that's really cool. ah Red Dead, we talked a bit about that already. Dragon Age of Vailguard, people mixed about this one, so comes out Halloween, so that might be your time to check it out and form your actual opinion on the game.
00:52:40
Speaker
ah Horizon Zero Dawn remastered. I went over how this is like a fucking scam of a game already, because they delisted the old versions, put up the new ones for a higher price tag. Fuck. Like as you own the game on PS4 and you bought the upgrade for 10 bucks. Sure. Fine. There's a reason I don't like Horizon Zero Dawn. This is another reason added to that list. This is my 13th reason.
00:53:05
Speaker
I feel like Horizon Zero Dawn just gets so unlucky with everything. Like it came out at a time that was just very unfortunate or Horizon. Sorry, Horizon just in general. I don't remember if it's Horizon Zero. Yeah, I think it is the yeah first Forbidden West had a better release date. Yeah, like I don't know. I've even tried. I've tried to play Horizon Zero Dawn. It was just all right. I couldn't get past the tutorial area. It bored me. it gave more It's very dependent on the person. It looks visually stunning. Visually. Beautiful game. And the music as well. Very, very good. ah But to some people it's just not or their kind of game, right? It was boring. It was a boring open world game.
00:53:53
Speaker
ah Lastly, Pharnagia, coming out PS5, Switch PC on the first. um This artwork done by Hiro Mashimasu, if you like the the Fairy Tail, Eden Zero artwork style, you'll you'll like the artwork. This is basically... What if Pikmin was a farming Sim?
00:54:12
Speaker
Well, I mean, Pikmin technically is. You farm the Pikmin. Yes, but like you you more in depth. Yeah. you Yeah. All the monsters, you grow them and then you fight big monsters like Pikmin. That is pretty funny. That would be a pretty interesting concept for a game. Hopefully they did it well. Hopefully. i I don't get it on the switch because they showed gameplay on the switch. Don't get it on the switch. Yeah.
00:54:43
Speaker
That's that vice that's my that's my five cents on that don't get like like Funko fusion don't get this one on the switch Funko fusion I don't even know like fucking came out. I don't even know how well it did it like it came out And it's just like well. It's out now it Well, two terrible reviews. Fun fact, I did actually download and or buy Funko Fusion for a bit um and then immediately refunded it. ah The reason I did it is because Alpharad found a glitch and it looked like the speedrun of it was going to be interesting.
00:55:22
Speaker
and But in the like two hours that I got to play it because, you know, I wanted to refund it still. The game just wasn't fun in general in that time. So I was like, nah, I'm good. All right. Good to know that is an official trader review of Funko fusion. Thank you. trader As if anyone needed to know whether it was a good game.
Sonic X Shadow Generations Discussion
00:55:44
Speaker
Yeah, they tried to be the next Lego game and it really didn't work out.
00:55:49
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah. All right. None of the fun and whimsy. Yeah. Well, with that, it's time for us to now dive into our main focus. And here is what we're talking about this week in the Game Lounge. Conversations of past and future games, the state of the gaming industry, how big decisions affect gamers and anything else that's important to us. Here's what's going down this week in the Game Lounge. And to kick it off, Sonic X Shadow Generation.
00:56:17
Speaker
It's the Sonic Shadow block. that's That's what it is. And, Trader, my first question for you, if you've listened to last week's episode, will we get the chaos gritty? I hate that name. But yes, I mean, I don't really hate it. I'm just like, oh, no, not again. um But will we get it? Probably. ive It's a Sonic game. There's got to be something that we're going to figure out with the mechanics. It already looks very
00:56:48
Speaker
useful doesn't look broken. But if it, it feels like something that could absolutely become broken. ah Like the the game itself, the mechanics about like the chaos stuff, which by the way, that's really cool. All the like stuff that they add all the brand new shadow powers look Yeah, a lot of them look very fun. Actually, I have a nitpick with those for what it's probably because it's just like before release footage, the animations looked really stiff for the chaos powers.
00:57:23
Speaker
ah which most people probably didn't even realize. ah But as someone that looks into animation, 3D animation, and like stuff like that, I notice it a bit more. Okay. Well, maybe that'll be the secret to hitting the Chaos Gritty.
00:57:45
Speaker
true honestly if it's anything there's probably just going to be like one frame because there's an attack that he has uh shadow has where he throws an enemy into the air kicks the enemy and then teleports to wherever that enemy was that looks so broken And I feel like if you can delay it to be as late as possible, assuming it's not like a fixed location that it teleports you to. Yeah. um Then if you can delay it as late as possible, you're going to go really, really far. So I'm assuming maybe on like the last possible frame, it might just send you way further than they expect or something like that. You get yeeted half across the map and there it is.
00:58:32
Speaker
That will be so cool if it exists though. There's going to be something about this game. I hope there's going to be some cool strat that's just added or maybe not added, but like found in the game that just makes the speed run so interesting.
00:58:48
Speaker
Do you think anything new will get found on the just the regular side of generations? Like we know that we're getting the the drop dash implemented on that. um Is that going to help crack the generation speed run more wide open or?
00:59:03
Speaker
um Honestly, it really depends because they've had a long time to look at the game and perhaps they're going to patch some of the stuff that was already in the base Sonic Generations. Oh, yeah. I really consider that because of of that. That's a that's a good point to bring up. But at the same time, the physics may be it looks like the physics are different for ah shadow gens. Yeah. So what is and isn't possible will probably change.
00:59:33
Speaker
And that'll make it a bit of a refresh for the game. So I think that'll be interesting. Yeah. Well, what do you think this new child rescue system is going to be? um Because they briefly talked about it with they had like, God, what was it? A developer interview with <unk> Ishikawa. Yeah, I think that I think that was I don't know the name off the top of my head. I just remember there was an interview for sure.
01:00:01
Speaker
Yeah, and they mentioned briefly the child rescue system. How do you think that's going to play into a part of just the gen the game in general? I really am not sure. I think that the thing that's interesting about it is with everything else in the game, they've shown gameplay footage for quite a lot of stages and mechanics, but I have not seen anything about the Chao other than it being mentioned verbally. Yeah. so
01:00:35
Speaker
if I'm going based off what I can think of. Do you think they've put in a child garden? No. Do you think that they secretly all this time holding back are about to like, oh yeah, you rescued each child, they go into a child garden and you get to raise them again. That would be insane. Imagine that as DLC. um bad Imagine. Imagine.
01:00:58
Speaker
Um, they explicitly said there is no child garden. So if they actually did have one, people would be very confused and maybe popping off. I don't know what the reaction would be pure, probably upset at first, but then excited. I feel like they'd be like, they say lie to us, but we're happy.
01:01:20
Speaker
Yeah, basically. yeah I think it would be like a very like, I can't believe they lied. I'm so glad they did. Why would they just hide this? It would sell the game a lot more. It definitely would. But I think for like the Chao stuff, though, ah my guess is it's probably going to be similar to the Chao missions in Sonic Adventure 2, where you take a different path and you have to find a Chao there.
01:01:47
Speaker
um based off the naming though maybe the chow doesn't just stay still and it's moving about a little um that could be it uh it could be it could be but not too sure because like it's a chow rescue maybe he has to like uh find him as it's being chased by something um that could be something that but I'm not too sure. In any case, it's a new thing that's being added to revitalize that portion of the game and that's awesome. Yeah, I really hope that they do put one of the chow underwater somewhere because we know that that chow is obviously the happiest of everybody. Oh, absolutely. Also, I hope that they make the chow
01:02:36
Speaker
not just the standard blue and yellow chow and have like different variations for the one we're rescuing. That'd be cool. Like just how many since you're a 180 speed run chow expert, yeah how many different egg color egg colors are there? ah And ups well, OK, are you saying egg colors that you can purchase or because um There's the ones you can purchase, and then when you breed them, there can be two tones. Oh, so Chinese and ah jewel chow there. There's a lot of different things that they can be. Oh, my God. How many base color challenge that are there? Let's let's let's go for that, because realistically, that would be what they would be referencing.
01:03:25
Speaker
ah I have no idea if they did, because it's like, obviously, they would probably do a hero challenge, our child regular normal child. And then if they want to just color in the rest with like the generic back colors. Mm hmm. I believe I don't know how many there are, but I know it's like a I believe there's like a double digit amount of them.
01:03:49
Speaker
um It's kind of big, honestly.
01:04:00
Speaker
we go. I've got a one, two, three, four, five, 26, 26. That's not bad. That's not bad. So you have that many to pick from. That's that's not bad. Like, you would yeah, for like a modern game, that's not bad. Considering there's like, what, nine stages in Sonic Generations, that's only really need nine different colors. and Yeah, yeah. And three of them are taking care of already.
01:04:26
Speaker
Yeah, not only that, they can also do like Sonic Chow, Amy Chow, blah, blah, blah. Yeah, they can even do that too. Oh, they can have a chow based on each of the people that you're rescuing from each of the stages. True. Oh, that would be so cute. That'd be cool. A charming chow, a vector chow, an SEO, a Rouge chow. Charming chow is getting kicked, I'm sorry.
01:04:52
Speaker
a He's not getting rescued. He's getting sent to the great outdoors called ah Under a Lake. that
01:05:07
Speaker
But that sounds fun otherwise. Yeah, absolutely. so Totally. yeah ah ah As we all know, not only are drowning chows the happiest chow, but flying chows are too. Yeah. And if you can combine it and have a flying chow that ends up drowning, double points.
01:05:32
Speaker
but Exactly. What are your thoughts on the Keanu Reeves DLC? Oh, okay. Well then I have a hot take from, I can i can do a new hot take actually.
01:05:50
Speaker
um Honestly, I think it's good. I don't know about the voice acting for Keanu. Not if for me right now, from what I've heard. yeah um you you're gonna Obviously, when you see the movie, the big decision will be made if he was the right choice or not. Yeah, I don't think it's going to be a bad thing, but ah for what I've heard, he just sounds like himself.
01:06:17
Speaker
um To me just like he just sounds like Keanu rather than shadow um But I still kind of find I kind of find it funny that you give the hedgehog who had wielded guns The actor who has wielded the most guns Yeah, to be fair, no issue with Keanu. That's awesome. I'm excited. But definitely, definitely feels like a Chris Pratt level voice acting.
01:06:50
Speaker
at the moment, at the ball but we'll have to see the actual movie to know for sure. But as for the stage, that stage that they showed off, I don't even think do like um DLC was mentioned in the SEGA reveal at all. It was on PlayStation. Yeah, the Sonic Central didn't mention it at all. And then later the same day, ah PlayStation's like, oh, hey, this is coming. And we're all like, what the fuck, Sega? Why did you leave that out? Why yeah why did you give that honor to PlayStation?
01:07:21
Speaker
They didn't mention it at all and I didn't know about it until so I think it was Dawn mentioned it to me and I was like, what? You're joking. There's no way. But yeah, the stage itself looks pretty massive and interesting. So honestly, I think it might actually be some really fun DLC.
01:07:44
Speaker
And the the thing is, they said it's like a three stage DLC for the movie. pack It's like a movie pack. It's not just the one stage. So I think we're also I think a part of that. We are going to get movie Sonic as well. Yeah. And that's third and a third stage of something. Maybe we get moving knuckles and tails in the third stage. Who knows?
01:08:04
Speaker
Who knows? It'd be cool. It'd be interesting. It'd be absolutely cool to kind of see that getting implemented. like i i recently Thank you. i will I'm going to give a shout out to the PlayStation Stars reward system because I completely forgot that I'm enrolled in that because you just kind of get automatically enrolled in that with PlayStation now. um I had like 10,000, 12,000 points that I had no clue I had.
01:08:31
Speaker
And then I'm like, Oh, what can I even get with these? And so I got cat quest free for free. And I just recently platinum that. And then I put the remaining points I had into PlayStation currency and I got saved 25 bucks on pre-ordering the deluxe edition ah for Sonic X shadow. So I'm like, you know what? That's a big win for Canadian for for a Canadian the conversion rates. That's pretty damn good.
01:08:59
Speaker
Oh, that was 25 US? No, it was 25 Canadian, but it's just like okay the fact that I'm saving 25 bucks off of like a $60, $70 game. Yeah, really nice. That's pretty good. That's pretty nice. Feels nice to actually save but to spend like what an American spends on that game normally. Yeah, exactly.
01:09:21
Speaker
So that that was, it was an instant, yeah, I wanted to get that. So that way when December 7th, 4th or 7th, I think is what they said. Early December is what what I remember. When it comes out, I'll be able to play that, so. Because i'm excited it's it's definitely the most interesting thing for for a DLC chosen for a Sonic game. Yeah, it's very unique for sure.
01:09:48
Speaker
Okay, so what are your thoughts on the stages that they've chosen for Shadow? um Final Rush, Radical Highway, Bullet Station, Kingdom Valley, Sunset Heights, and Chaos Island are the ones that we know. There are theories that there are there still might be a couple other stages. um What are your thoughts on the ones that we know about?
01:10:06
Speaker
ah For now, all the stages that we know about, I really like the decisions for which ones they've chosen. A lot of them look really interesting. Only gripe for the ones that there are is Final Rush. Why did they not choose Final Chase? To be fair, I think Final Rush is the but better choice because Final Chase, car not gonna lie, kind of a doo-doo stage.
01:10:31
Speaker
it It very much. I mean, like the grab, I feel like the big thing would be the gravity would be a lot more interestingly done now than before.
01:10:43
Speaker
um Also, I bet you they were going to go with file chase, but then the ah the big was it fling fling skip was found and they're like, oh, no, we can't put it in now. Oh, yeah, of course. they They they pay attention to the a two speed running scene.
01:11:00
Speaker
can't play it they'll just go right to the end of the stage yeah now obviously it'll function the exact same way just wait till they hear about final rush skip a bad Imagine though, imagine if they did kind of like, leave that in. Like if they like, but they left something there, it's like they built the stage almost like one to one or like, you know what, let's fuck with those SA2 players and keep it in there. It's funny you say that because Shadow, the Hedgehog, the game, um has a stage that is very much Final Rush.
01:11:40
Speaker
Really? And in that stage, later on, some one of the runners for Shadow saw a final rush skip and thought, hey, can we do the same thing? And yes, they could. They literally did the skip. Oh my god. That's great. And it was a massive time save for them.
01:12:00
Speaker
Wow, that's hilarious that it worked the same way. So, you know, it might happen a third time. You know what? Here's hoping it does. Here's hoping it does because that would that would make it the perfect trifecta of just skipping space. It would be so funny. It would it would be.
01:12:18
Speaker
Absolutely hilarious if they did do that. That would be nuts. It would be hilarious. It would be the perfect white a perfect thing for speedrunners to be like, oh, this is it. Whoever makes that video on that is instantly getting like a million views, for sure. Oh, yeah. Absolutely. Absolutely. um yeah Okay. Do you think there will be any other stages that we don't know of?
01:12:43
Speaker
Or yes, because he mentioned that there's going to be a few stages that haven't been shown. OK, and and they ah they also did say, like, according to things is like this game, the Shadow side is going to be about the same length as the Sonic side.
01:12:56
Speaker
Yeah, so i I think there's going to be a few more stages, but I don't know what exactly they can show or what else there is left of Shadow in particular that they could use. What would you like to see? If it was you who had to pick these, what would you like to see? Because we kind we currently have six and Sonic's side has nine, so What three? what What's your top three, I guess? for your ah Is there a top three that Shadow even had? When it comes to my mind, there's White Jungle and Skyrail that they haven't added in, but that'd be way too much SA2. Yeah.
01:13:39
Speaker
um from shadow. I feel like an arc stage would be nice because remember there's the story aspect of shadow gens has something to do with the arc. So I'm assuming there's going to be another arc related. and that Another arc related stage from shadow specifically would make yeah sense. I think is very realistic of what we will see.
01:14:06
Speaker
um So that's what I'm thinking is probably going to be shown as like the one of the last stages. Yeah. um But other than that, I don't really have any idea what else they could show at all. I like White Jungle. I feel like they could absolutely do White Jungle, because that is such like, that is such like another like good iconic shadow stage. It is. And like, he doesn't really, of looking at the stages that they have, he doesn't really have like a forest motif yet. So, yeah absolutely could pick that. They could absolutely have done White Jungle.
01:14:41
Speaker
um Oh, they could actually take some more from 06 as well. Now that I think about it, I completely forgot. There's like, I don't know. I feel like there'd be very much. Oh, fucking White Acropolis. White Acropolis, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That I feel like would be because there's I don't think there's any White Acropolis at all in base gens, right? No, base gens use Crisis City.
01:15:05
Speaker
Yeah. So having a snow level, I feel like that's this is what and Sonic games have been missing. More snow level. Yeah. actually Yeah. Like I think base gens also didn't use a snow level either. Yeah. So it makes sense for Shadow to get White Acropolis to give you that snow level.
01:15:25
Speaker
Was it Sonic 2 or Sonic 3 and Knuckles? The one where you... It's Sonic 3. Sonic 3 and Knuckles. Wasn't it Ice Cap Zone in that one too? Because then they brought it back with Adventure.
01:15:40
Speaker
There've been quite a few different like snow based levels in Sonic games, Sonic Advance one or two, one of those two. I think Sonic Advance 2 also has one and they're really fun. Honestly, I really they're like surprisingly really interesting most of the time. And the music's always just so nice to listen to every single time. Did Sonic Advance 3 feature Shadow?
01:16:06
Speaker
I cannot recall. I know it was out after Shadow existed. Yeah, that's why I'm like, I'm questioning like, because if that's it, imagine they drop something from the Sonic advanced games in there. ah Looks like there is not a shadow. OK. Damn, but not entirely. Imagine they gave Shadow a stage from Sonic Adventure one.
01:16:33
Speaker
Yeah, that would be really interesting, because Shadow's not in Sonic Adventure 1, but yeah ah adding a Sonic... But then again, the Shadow gets Chaos Island, and Shadow has... Yeah, that's what I was just about to say.
01:16:47
Speaker
and frontiers Yeah, he's not in frontiers at all, and he gets a force or not forces frontiers stage. They could also give a force stage, actually. Yeah, they could. They could. Because he is part of the story, and at least in the DLC. Yeah, the episode shadow three stage DLC, which which I mean, they could give one of those three stages or they should could just give us a base game stage from force. Yeah, I. i But though wait, wait, sorry, we already get that with Sunset Heights.
01:17:19
Speaker
Oh, Ryan is from forces. ha ah Well, that's how forgettable forces. It is. It really is Sonic lost. They're going to give us a Sonic lost world stage for shadow. You know what? That would be fun. but that That would be interesting to see how they would do a modern lost world stage.
01:17:42
Speaker
It would be very difficult because the mechanics are very different. He doesn't have the parkour stuff, right? So if anything, to see number one, I would love an Unleashed stage. I know they're not going to do that. Unleashed is such a good game and it looks beautiful having Shadow Eggman land.
01:18:03
Speaker
OK, well, don't do that. so ah This is like me asking for a wish for a genie and they're like, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. No.
01:18:15
Speaker
so why not put shadow in eggantland no
01:18:21
Speaker
No, you no, Eggman land way too ah way too many bad memories. Give me like the the dragon. Oh, yeah. Like stage. Oh, that one would be beautiful. That'd be good. That would be pretty cool, actually. So, yeah, real realistically, I think there's three stages that we have not seen yet ah that we that will get added what they are. Who knows? um We'll find out soon enough, because if you pre-order Shadow Sonic X Shadow, je you get it three days early, I think.
01:18:51
Speaker
yes which uh that's another reason i pre-ordered it because it means i'll be able to play it soon hey yeah i i i'm still like debating whether i do it i mean to be fair all i gotta to do is make a video on it yeah and then it pays for itself easy easy um Looking at the boss side of things the bosses we know for Sonic X shadow gens crew for shadow gens We have the bio lizard metal overlord black doom obviously as the final boss. We don't know what it'll be No, it'll be black dude because let's be real It's gonna be black doom for sure bethalese and There are reports that Sonic the SA2 Sonic is also a boss makes sense.
01:19:35
Speaker
um um Do you think there will be any other bosses or is this the lineup we have? Is this going to be like the final boss lineup for Shadow? I i mean, that's quite a lot of bosses. um So I don't think there's going to be any more. There's there's probably going to be maybe like one more. Maybe there's a two stage fight for Black Doom. I mean, that's realistically, I think that that will be the case for do Black Doom. You start out, you fight him in his base form and then he transforms.
01:20:04
Speaker
Yeah, exactly. That's what I'm thinking as well. ah But other than that, I don't really think there's going to be any other bosses. And if there are, I feel like that might be an issue because then the creativity of the bosses are probably going to be stretched. I think potentially you have one additional boss in silver.
01:20:23
Speaker
Potentially because if you're fighting Sonic, why not fight silver as well as shadow? Why not beat up all the hedgehogs? that in there too and I think you put some it's because then it's like okay you have silver in it because Really in generations the shadow and silver boss fights are kind of like not like the core boss fights But like side bosses, but why not have Sonic and silver as side bosses for shadow? I see something like that. And I feel like silver makes sense, too, because where's silver in all this generation stuff? Yeah. It's like it's like it's like looks back if you look back at generations normally, everybody's at the birthday, including Blaze. But there's no silver or shadow there. We now know where shadows been with this. But where the fuck is silver?
01:21:10
Speaker
Yeah, Shadow's been traumatized. Where's Silver? Yeah, where's Silver? Is he still crying over his future? No. He fixed that future. So where the fuck is are you, Silver? Huh? Huh? Chilling on a beach right now because he fixed it. He's like, i I don't need to do anything else now. God damn it.
01:21:29
Speaker
we'll see yeah i think silver there and then i feel like you could add like one more main boss realistically i don't know who uh when we had emin don on last time it's like oh we it could be it might be an egg man robot of some sorts but in which case what yeah and robot like i know the real final boss actually pinball gun soldier ah i mean We could see a boss fight with ah the that gun commander because Now that all three episodes of dark beginnings are out um Which if you haven't watched the dark beginnings series go watch it It's a fun they put it in all three parts in one single video as well and it's ah
01:22:18
Speaker
Peak fucking is But is ah but the the the gun commander from Shadow, the hedgehog is there at the end.
Sonic Game Mechanics and Critiques
01:22:28
Speaker
It's like, oh, shit, it's him. Yeah, it's Abraham. So we could see the ah but one the boss fight with him from shot Shadow, the hedgehog, because you do like one of the gun big gun machines. So I feel like you could have that as like a main boss to it and you're good on bosses.
01:22:46
Speaker
Potentially, yeah. um my ah I have a hot take with the Metal Overlord. I know people were hyped about it. The gameplay looks really boring to me. um it's a It's basically an on-rails boss the entire time. But then again, wasn't that the case with like Chaos in Generations as well?
01:23:12
Speaker
Um, I believe so. It's that is the issue, though. I feel like ah Sonic has to have more interesting boss fights. That is always like the big thing. They're very basic. They're very on rails. Like it it wasn't like Frontiers was like the first time that it wasn't kind of on rails in a while. Yeah. But then again, Frontiers is such a different game than what we're using Sonic. So like they were able to do like they were able to let him cook.
01:23:42
Speaker
And all that stuff. But then like Overlord, Middle Overlord, you watch it and you're like, okay, they're using the Chaos Power to do what? not really anything just to make you have a different kind of like background. Oh, he's on water. There's got to be more like you couldn't do so much more with those powers. So i I hope they do. The one that I'm actually thinking does look very interesting is the bio lizard boss fight.
01:24:13
Speaker
that both face yeah significantly better It's essentially almost like exactly like essay twos with the only difference being the ball pink ball phases. Well, yeah, I think the thing is that it's like.
01:24:31
Speaker
Looking at it compared to SA2, it looks much more dynamic, especially with the fact that I hope it's not just in the cutscene that he teleports using Chaos Control. I hope that's like an actual thing that's happening in the boss fight. that Because that would be really interesting.
01:24:50
Speaker
um It would really show us why the biolizard is more of the prototype of the ultimate life than just this big-ass lizard that warps onto the tip of a cannon.
01:25:01
Speaker
That and it also shows would show how much more threatening he is because in the actual thing for essay two, he just kind of looks like a goofy little lizard, fi a big lizard, goofy little goofy big lizard. There you go. Big lizard goofy. But if you make him terrifying with the chaos control, make the fight challenging, then yeah, that kind of impact will feel way more scary. Yeah.
01:25:32
Speaker
and more interesting. So I want to see the boss fights be more interesting. Metal Overlord, it's kind of 50-50 right now. Metal Overlord looks kind of boring to me. Biolizard looks interesting. And we see what the others will be. And we have no clue how the Black Doom fight will be, or Mephilese, really. We don't really know how the Mephilese fight is going to go.
01:25:52
Speaker
Yeah, I mean, they have a and know they have lots of other mechanics to work with. And one of them in particular that was interesting to watch when we first were introduced to the game was chaos control, that like green aura ah around the gameplay where you slow down time. ah That could definitely be part of a boss fight. Yeah, absolutely. You know what I think would be cool for a baffle the baffles fight?
01:26:22
Speaker
Yeah, shooting song. I mean, that too. I imagine. I imagine. But like, what if I mean, actually, that kind of does phase into what I think would be cool, is that Mephiles transforms into Solaris for like, oh, that would be fun. That that would be fun.
01:26:43
Speaker
um I think right now they're very huge on spectacle for the two boss fights that we've seen. So I'm assuming it's probably going to be similar for the others. I just hope the gameplay stands up to that. Yeah, definitely.
Speculations in Sonic's Storyline
01:26:59
Speaker
I agree with you. I agree with you there.
01:27:02
Speaker
um What do you think the story is going to be like for shadows? Like what do you think? Like are any big twists with the story of shadow? And I bring this up because Dawn last week brought up a very interesting point is like the timelines being manipulated a weird thing. What if shadow has to kill Maria?
01:27:26
Speaker
Oh, that's evil. I mean, we've seen Black Zoom messing in the like shorts. You see Black Doom messing with what actually happens in terms of the timing of things like yeah the gun soldiers appearing way too early. Emeril being there as well, because is it and was it Emeril, an Eggman robot? I know, I think he was a he was another prototype of Shadow, right?
01:27:54
Speaker
oh Oh, right. Yeah. Then it also be it also begs me a question. Will Admiral be a part of the game as a boss fight in somewhere? Because why? Oh, yeah. so Why show off Admiral in dark beginnings if you're just going to put him there? it It's like, oh, it's a reference of just inviting that. so Well, I mean, that's a good thing to do. Yes. Let's be real. They've done stuff like that before. through but still why put emerald there if you're only gonna use it for that one specific thing why only there
01:28:26
Speaker
It would be really nice to see that as a boss fight. I have got to say that would be an incredibly interesting boss fight. Just because, oh, my God, the animals ability to copy you. That was his whole stick. Yeah. Oh, my God. Oh, look, they did. Sega is sitting on so many cool things that if they don't act on it, I'm going to be bad now that we're talking about it.
01:28:53
Speaker
Oh my god. ah Actually, ah for the story though, I think there's a lot of interesting things that can happen. I think the biggest twist, the thing that like pulled me up out of my seat um was Maria and Gerald appearing in the story of Shadow Jens, which like obviously, yeah, they would be there.
01:29:16
Speaker
but living and that was, it makes so much sense. The timeline's all screwed up. The timeline's all screwed up. maria maybe Maria doesn't have this disease now, but the disease is going to break out in in order for, again, this is what dawns at last week in order for it to now.
01:29:32
Speaker
not save the world, Shadow has to kill Maria to set the timeline right. And if that's the case, that means Maria gets to die twice in one year with this, with the game and the movie.
01:29:49
Speaker
true I don't think they would do that because like, no way would that game be rated anything. yeah and like Realistically, I think Maria would be like, it's okay, Shadow. I know I have to do this. And she's the one who sacrifices herself yeah instead. But like, I mean, if they do that, so that's going to be emotional damage for Shadow. True. Honestly, I think the game is going to be a lot more impactful for the story than shadow or sonic gens because sonic gens the story was just celebration is my birthday eggman there's there's past me and past eggman let's kick their butts
01:30:28
Speaker
Yeah, exactly. There was like basically no story. yeah so I'm excited to see what the story I mean, with the amount they cooked for the actual shorts. Yeah, for the prologue of this, yeah essentially the prologue of this. They're doing all this. It's just like Jesus Christ's sake. What are you doing? I like how huh?
01:30:49
Speaker
Yeah, it's incredible. It's the first time I've been saying this to Dawn and Em. It's the first time that I'm looking at a Sonic game from the trailers and everything, and I'm genuinely excited.
01:31:06
Speaker
ah Like, it's been such a long time since I've seen a Sonic game and thought, wow, this is actually going to be really fun. It looks good. It's not just like, oh, good for a Sonic game. No, this looks good. Yeah. Like I want to play it. Yeah.
01:31:21
Speaker
You know, i'll I'm going to make one more prediction right here. And it's maybe like a little hope. I kind of hope yeah that for the end credits song for shadows, for the shadow gent side, I kind of hope that they bring Nate wants to battle back to do a song for that, because I think that would be really fucking cool. True. Because let's be real, one way dream in frontiers could go. It goes off. It pops off. um Yeah.
01:31:46
Speaker
And I think they should have promoted that as a song. No offense to One Okay Rock, because I love One Okay Rock. But them picking Vandalize for like the, oh yeah, we're using this song to help market the game. Well, I don't think it was a bad choice. The fact that, you know, if you do the true ending, which a lot of people did, you don't get Vandalize, you get One Way Dream instead.
01:32:08
Speaker
is like a much cooler thing. And I kind of hope that they have Nate do another song for going forward. I think it's- Yeah, I mean, I i feel like it should. It probably has to, because there's some great places to have a song from Nate.
01:32:32
Speaker
um But who is to say who knows? Only people who know are Sega and they're not sharing stuff with me, Tony Game Lounge. Not until the massive leak of Sega happened. Which is happening right now because I broke into Sega HQ. I broke into Sega HQ and leaked all of their upcoming projects. There's one. I am now wanted in 17 countries.
01:33:01
Speaker
Let's go. Oh This is my last public broadcast before I go into hiding. Before I play Yakuza in real life.
01:33:14
Speaker
You can find me off the shores of Hawaii capturing a pirate ship. as No memory of my past. but god ah Just off topic. i' so The fact that they chose that as like the plot for the next game and you get to be Majima in that is just incredible. I'm so excited for that. Yeah, it's very fun. It really does. And they're they're following the guided format more it too. So it's not going to be like a super long game, but the combat is going to be super. I'm just I'm excited. I'm so excited.
01:33:47
Speaker
That's for sure. I can I can understand. Oh, God. I hope I hope that if they have any claw machine games, because it's the one thing that Sega has not done with Yakuza really is like, I don't think they've never given us like a lot of like Sonic stuff aside from like putting like a couple of music in if you find like some CDs of like some Sonic music around the streets. There's no real like Sonic presence despite it being Sega produced and like there's Monkey ball hot today Miku's been used before Mm-hmm like i would I would love to see just Sonic as a prize in the claw machine That's it. Yeah, that's it That's all I'm sure it's surely they'll do it
01:34:30
Speaker
Oh, why is why did he at me on that? Oh, OK. Before we get to our second topic of the day, I just have to share what my moderator, T.C., sent me, which is an image from what assumes to be a Walmart or yeah, it has to be a Walmart of a skibbity toilet, a real skibbity toilet product. Oh, no. Oh,
01:34:58
Speaker
no That's how I know I'm starting to feel old.
Gaming Anecdotes and Experiences
01:35:01
Speaker
I don't get it. Oh, no. I am going to send this to you, Trader, right now so you can. No, I'm good. You can. You can. You can keep that. I've seen this. You're seeing this, too. This is this is. This is. and Enjoy it. It's it's a jack in the box, but significantly worse. Twenty dollars.
01:35:28
Speaker
U.S. as well. U.S. baby. That is so absurd. Uh, anyway. Just buy a real toilet.
01:35:39
Speaker
ah You are getting ready for another night of adventuring with your friends and you realize, wow, I haven't leveled up and it's been two whole sessions. Well, I have the solution for you. Just ask your game master again. Your GM will understand that after a straight RP session and one encounter with a bunch of CR1 goblins, your level eight character needs to be thrown about. Forget about experience point counting or preset milestones that GM had already established.
01:36:09
Speaker
asking your GM again is the tried and true solution that does not come across as annoying at all. So did you level up? Just ask your GM again. tell that Now that our Scooby-Dee toilet break is over, let's go into our second second topic of the day, which is, uh, 2025 is looking stacked for video games.
01:36:29
Speaker
Oh, so good. I am so excited. Uh, it is. It's looking good. But to start this off, the past few years have been pretty good. Like last year was great. I think in the year before that was pretty good too. How would you rate the past few years of video games?
01:36:46
Speaker
ah Honestly, pretty high. I feel like a lot of great games have been coming out and a lot more games have been coming out. Whether it's just from the AAA titles or the indie scene, there's just been so many good things. Animal Well, for example, people have been loving that. I got Froggun Encore. Yeah, you did love that.
01:37:08
Speaker
I played that game a lot. I need to play that. Now that you've said that, that reminded me, I gotta play that. I played the first frog gun. It was great. I gotta play Encore. I gotta play that. The movement is very much improved for Fraga and Angkor. Nice. And just like, there are a huge amount of games over the last few years that have been just incredible. ah Tears of the Kingdom was one of my favorite games of all time. Pikmin 4, loved them. So good. And there's just more coming out for 2025 that, if you like major titles,
01:37:46
Speaker
next year is gonna be a huge, huge amount of major titles coming out. Yeah, it really is. um Before we get into that, what ah ah what what games have you been playing this year? Do you roughly have an idea of how many games you've played this year? Yeah, seven. Damn. ah Very different than you, that's for sure. Yeah. Oh, I guess if you count gacha games as well, then nine.
01:38:15
Speaker
i like um that's but so So since it's so little, what what specific games ah were you playing this year? All right. ZZZ. Okay. um Reverse 1999, which is another gacha game, which by the way, incredible game. I wish it wasn't a gacha, because then I could recommend it to people. Great story, great gameplay. um And then we'll go through the rest Apex and CS because yes, um I like myself some nice shooty games from time to time. Pew pew.
01:38:51
Speaker
Um, then there's a Funko fusion because but the two hours played a Funko fusion. Yeah, it was something and uh, not worth that. Fun fact, it couldn't even run properly on my PC as well because ah I just don't have a good PC apparently.
01:39:12
Speaker
they um But other games, obviously SA2, because you know that I have to play that. You you have to play that. and You even did a challenge for SA2 where you beat the attempted to beat the game without moving Yes, which basically was trying to beat the game without using the analog stick. um And without spoiling how much of it was possible, um a lot more than you'd expect.
01:39:45
Speaker
A lot. A lot. I said Tails. Are they spoiled at Tails? Don't expect Tails to be in that video. Tails, Tails gets a very cool window. I will say Tails gets at least one really cool in. But other than that, he's not doing much at all. But the rest was really fun. I was really proud of how much I was able to accomplish for that. It was a really well put together video as well. Thank you. Ten out of ten. Ten out of ten. I loved watching it.
01:40:14
Speaker
Yeah. ah Fun fact, the actual editing for the video only took me like three weeks. That's not bad, actually. Holy shit, that's really not bad. um But then like the ah planning for the script and actually doing the challenge took me almost an entire year. Because believe it or not, trying to beat a game without using the analog stick, not that easy. Yeah.
01:40:42
Speaker
and then finding out a way to figure out, okay, what of this 300 gigabytes worth of footage is he actually interesting yeah for people to learn? um That was very difficult, but hey, it ended up being a product that I'm pretty happy about. Actually, just today, um it became my most viewed video. Hey, congratulations.
01:41:05
Speaker
Thank you. Congratulations. And also, I want to shout out Trader, because for, I think it was 26 seconds, and Dawn's most recent video, Trader edited those 26 seconds as well. Yes, I did the intro. I did. Was it 26? I think it might have been 50. It was somewhere. It's like less than a day. It's just like the first minute. Yeah, it was just the intro that he wanted me to do.
01:41:32
Speaker
And it's very well done. And the second like Don said that, it's like, yeah, straight out of this part, when I watch the video, I'm like, oh, yep, I can tell exactly where he edited because it's 3D and pieces are moving. I'm like, oh, shit, he's cooking.
01:41:44
Speaker
Oh, yeah, the 3D. That was the first time I've done a 3D scene. um I just thought it would be fun. Fun fact. So, OK, little behind the scenes with that. Don was like, OK, so ah would you be willing to do the intro for me? And I'm like, sure, I have some ideas. I was not expecting him to pay me at all. I was just like, what kind of stupid things can I put together?
01:42:13
Speaker
Oh, let me just go a little crazy. Let's see what we can do. Just put trader in the kitchen and trader cooked. That's all it is. Yeah. I guess so. Um, to me, I was like, eh, this could be better, but I mean, I'm not putting in too much work. And then he's like, okay, so how much, so for the payment, I'm like, payment, what? There was supposed to be money involved in this. No, I just wanted to make something.
01:42:40
Speaker
and I did. I just made something. I guess people liked it. Heck yeah. oh Yeah ah back and back to the games you played now our The next three are gonna be Very funny. I mean One two of them will make sense. One of them is gonna be out of nowhere. Okay, that's gonna be very fun. Okay, so For the two that make sense um Hollow Knight is a game. I've been wanting to play for forever but I had a
01:43:15
Speaker
sensitivity with my eyes that caused a game like Hollow Knight, where it's very bright, goes from a dark scene to very bright flashes. Oh, yeah. Would cause me to get migraines. So I just wasn't able to ever play that until very recently. um The issue is gone now. So when I remembered that Hollow Knight, I couldn't play because of that, played it, loved it, played 50 hours in four days.
01:43:44
Speaker
Holy sh shit. Love the game. I tried completing it right now. I only have 43 of the 63 achievements. I'm going to go through and 100 percent the game at some point for sure. Nice, nice. Other than that, there's have a nice death, which I don't know if you've heard. I this is the one where you play as the Grim Reaper and he's fed up with his work, right?
01:44:10
Speaker
Yes, yes, it is exactly that game. And for the longest time, the game had the same issue as Hollow Knight. It's a very dark game with bright flashes. Yeah. Lots of bright effects and it looks beautiful. Gorgeous game. I think it came out last year, too. So it's relatively like newer.
01:44:31
Speaker
ah Yeah, 2023, March 2023. It is a super fun game. They've been updating it quite often. I think the latest update one was it I think it was like.
01:44:43
Speaker
May of this year um And they completely added like huge portions to the game as well Which just made it a lot more fun and I came back to it and for the first time I actually beat the final boss It's a roguelite game and I finally beat the final boss that was so difficult So so difficult. There's only like 2% of people that have beaten the final boss. Oh, wow. I It is a legitimate challenge to beat it. And I was like, hell yeah, finally, finally I did it. Yeah, 2.8% of people beat the final boss. um It's just crazy how difficult it is. um But it was so fun. And when I finally did, I just, that actually happened like two days ago. I was so so excited about it.
01:45:39
Speaker
And then the final game, I bet you cannot guess at all what it is. Like, you would not have a chance of guessing. Oh, actually, wait. ah i don't It doesn't say that I played this game recently, but Persona 3 Reloaded.
01:45:57
Speaker
Ah, yes. Great game. Yeah, loved it. So good. Put a ton of hours into it. Loved it. Super fun. Definitely want to get the DLC. um And then the one that's out of left field, Volcano Princess. Huh?
01:46:15
Speaker
yeah Yeah, that's exactly the reaction that I expected. um It is not a game like anything I've ever really played myself before. um Apparently, it's called like a princess simulator game, but the game would have never been on my radar until I watched someone play it.
01:46:38
Speaker
and i realized wow this game's story is really interesting it's very fun and it made me want to try a genre of games that just never felt like something that i would have ever really wanted to try plus inside the game they have like a minigame, which is a roguelike in that game. um So I was like, hell yeah, why not? I'll try it out. Let's see what it is. And you could buy it as a bundle with potion craft as well. Yes, that's what I was going to say. If you've ever heard of the people that made potion craft, it's by them.
01:47:17
Speaker
Interesting. That is so... Huh. I'm just looking at the Steam page right now. Prepare the next monarch by finding her hobbies, training her for battle, and befriending the citizens she'll one day protect. Dive into an all-new parenting simulator RPG adventure where every decision you make will not only affect the future of your daughter, but that's the entire empire.
01:47:42
Speaker
Yes. And it is overwhelmingly positive as well. It's a very fun game. Three four thousand five hundred twenty four reviews overall. Overwhelmingly positive. Wow. Yeah. Interesting. Completely blew my mind. I did not expect to want to play a game like this. um it's It's absolutely ah for this year. It's absolutely my like.
01:48:09
Speaker
out of left field pick and I was just really happy. Because here's the thing, this is what I've learned to do with games now that I'm able to afford more than just whatever I absolutely want to play, is to just go and play something that I've not really um given an opportunity to before and see ah if I can expand my palette.
01:48:35
Speaker
And this was a great game, or literally a super, super fun game that I didn't expect to be nearly as fun as it was. I like played the 20 hours of it in.
01:48:50
Speaker
Two days. Wow. I like kept thinking, OK, I'm done. it Also, unfortunately, ah if you have ADHD or anything like that, trying to find the perfect time to save does not exist. You just keep going, like well, I'll i play a little bit more, a little bit more. Oh, I already beat the entire game now. Rip. Well, OK then. Yeah, I bet that was a surprise.
01:49:19
Speaker
Wow. Now i I would do the same thing and go over a list of what I've played, but I've played 91 games this year so far. Mm-hmm makes sense. I will go over some highlights though. Yeah ah from the games um Like this time like for games that came out like in the past like not this year I play only played through all the half-life games I played through the first Street Fighter collection game that had like Street Fighter 2 3 alpha alpha 2 alpha 3 played all of those for the first time and
01:49:51
Speaker
Platinum under night in birth um Which was an interesting platinum that I did um I Played a lot of tycoon otazujin stuff this year as well. I played like three different types Tyco games, I think Mm-hmm. I what else I'm looking over my list the cat quest series one two and three which is recently I I feel like I've heard a cat quest before. it's They're done by the gentle bros. They're basically good old, just simple pack slash adventure games, rp nice that your RPG, very simple, very fun, very easy.
01:50:30
Speaker
Yeah. OK, so I have actually seen this very recently. I've been going over every day. Now I go through the discovery queue for steam. Yeah. um And just see whatever they have. And Cat Quest was one of the things and it was on my radar. That's what I remember. They're fun. They're fun games. I got originally I got them for free on the Epic Games Store, but then PlayStation put the first two for free on PlayStation Plus.
01:50:56
Speaker
It's all like the platinum, easy platinums done. Play them. Hell yeah. Good times. I finally played ahead in time this year. Oh, how was it? Oh, my God. Holy shit. It is one of the best platformers I have ever played. Oh, right. i I need to play ahead in time as well. I bought it and I had this. It's so on a third game where I had migraines, so I couldn't play it.
01:51:20
Speaker
Play it. Play it. Absolutely want to. It's been on my radar forever. It feels like you have like really good movement and it's got a Mario Sunshine kind of vibe with like the world select and everything like that. h And it's just it's just it's that like it's fucking good. And I'm I am mad at myself. but I didn't play it earlier.
01:51:45
Speaker
No, don't be mad at yourself for not playing it before. That means now you have a great experience ah in later words. You get what I mean. I played the Klonoa games this year as well, finally. ah I definitely want to do that. I've been talking with Sora a lot more and Sora is like the number one Klonoa fan.
01:52:08
Speaker
they they were you They were good games. ah ah The second one's much longer than the first one by like a significant amount, but they're still both pretty good. And I went back to Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1-2 remake this year because Tony Hawk announced, hey, I'm talking with Activision again.
01:52:24
Speaker
And we're like, oh oh, like, whoa, what? as we And so we thought they were going to have something on like the date, the anniversary of Pro Skater, but they didn't. So we don't know when now by platinum to Tony Hawk, Pro Skater one, two. And I'm just like, holy fuck, I cannot believe I did that. I never want to do that again.
01:52:42
Speaker
Uh, because it makes sense. Fuck the hard get there. The fucking bull ring hard to get there. Sucked ass. as so by God, that sounds, um, based off the reaction, I feel like that was not that fun. Six. It took me six hours of attempts on one day. Didn't get it oh the milk up the next day. And within 30 minutes, I got it.
01:53:10
Speaker
Hey, at least that next day was good. Oh, my God. I woke up and I'm like, oh, my God, I cannot believe I just did that. And then it was basically just grinding the same thing over and over again to refill 100, which was also the most mind numbing thing I've done. Ever. Oh, my God. As for games that came out this year, um like a Dragon Infinite Wealth, Persona 3 Reload and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, all at the same time, three massive RPGs.
01:53:39
Speaker
poor anyone who has ah RPG, ah loves RPGs, or at least ripped to the companies that have a lot of RPG fans. all All the people just being like, hey, getting a week off right now. Yeah, that was a back to back to back for me. I played it. was I think I did. I did Like a Dragon first, Persona second, Final Fantasy third. And fuck, I was burnt out for I was essentially that is I was burnt out from RPGs for the rest of the year.
01:54:09
Speaker
That makes a lot of sense. I mean, that is three massive games, all of which I had over 100 hours in and I only and I only play them two of them. I still don't have the planet for rebirth.
01:54:22
Speaker
Makes sense. ah God, those games just look incredible, though. It's painful that they were all at the same time. Yeah. um There was Penny's Big Breakaway. I played that casually. Oh, true. I forgot that that came out this year. Yeah. I'm going to save my opinions for that one, because at the end of the year, I will talk about
Yearly Gaming Reflections and Plans
01:54:43
Speaker
all the games I played. I'm also going to do a massive stream at the end of the year, where I will tier list everything. And I'll probably make a video about it, too, because I want to.
01:54:51
Speaker
um We had the FF16 DLC, Rising Tide, which was great. Duck Detective, the secret salami, hidden gem of the game. Super short speech. Oh, right. I have heard of that one. It's a fun time. It's a fun time. um Tales of Kazera Zao, Animal Well I did play. I do have a bit of a hot take on that one.
01:55:12
Speaker
Mm-hmm. Did you not enjoy it as well? No, it wasn't. You know what? I tried many times just to like try to get into it and enjoy it and I just like I could it wasn't for me Yeah, I mean, that hey, that happens knowing when something isn't for you is not bad. Yeah. We've got Super Monkey Ball, Banana Rumble, Angerfoot, Little Kitty, Big City, Shim. Thank goodness you're here, which I will highly recommend that one. that If you like weird British humor, you're going to love that game. Oh, we love British humor here. Dungeons of Hinterberg. Gem of the game. Gem of the game.
01:55:51
Speaker
There are so many good games. Squirrel with a Gun? Oh yeah, I keep seeing that recommended to me all the time. Squirrel with a Gun. Squirrel with a Gun. Great funny game. Astro Bot, obviously. um That's a fucking phenomenal game. Playstation Odyssey. It really is. Peglin, which is great.
01:56:14
Speaker
Let's go. Oh, I've played Peglin since like the was there early access? I'm pretty sure that if there was. I didn't know about it because I first learned about the game when they announced it at that Nintendo switch on Nintendo Direct.
01:56:26
Speaker
Yeah, I was so taken by surprise to see Peglin on the Nintendo Switch. I had it for a long time now, back when it was a very, very different game. Let me search it up actually quickly, because I do have it. When did I buy it? I don't know. ah Well, yeah, definitely before it came out, it looks like. Wow.
01:56:51
Speaker
Well, yeah, but I've been enjoying that. I've been playing it on the Switch. I'm already on Cruciball level five. Heck yeah. I think level four or five is where I'm at currently with the Spinventor, because that's the one I've been playing, the the class I've been playing as, because I haven't unlocked the other two classes yet.
01:57:11
Speaker
ah CCG Card Shop Simulator, the Plucky Squire Epic, Mickey Rebrushed. ah Echoes of wisdom and a whole bunch of others. um Just to give a few of what I've played and been playing this year. Good times. Good times all around. But next year. Oh, my God. Next year. We've got so many games coming out. I put down a list. What trailer? What games are you specifically looking forward to next year?
01:57:41
Speaker
Oh, my God. um Pokemon the. the like one Legend. Legend. Yeah. Yeah. Legend. are I love it. That monster hunter wilds. Oh, my God. I'm so excited for. I've never played a monster hunter game except for the one on the 3DS, the demo. And I loved it so much. I think that was. And I didn't know that it was on PC until ah like literally A few hours before the announcement that Monster Hunter Wilds came out. Oh, wow. Like, oh, my God. Or it was announced, not came out, obviously, it's like, oh, yeah, otherwise I'd be playing it. ah God, I'm so excited for Monster Hunter Wilds. It's going to be so fun. Another game that required me to update my PC.
01:58:33
Speaker
GTA 6 as well. um yeah Never played a GTA game, definitely want to. um Because hey, it's it's an experience that I feel like everyone has to have. Also, they've put like a billion dollars into it, not even like a exaggeration. So yeah, I just want to see where that billion dollars went. and True. I went to Florida, apparently, because I mean, the game it takes place in my city. So. Yeah, true. or Also, Metroid Prime 4. Yeah. Like there are so many. It's real games um as well as there's probably going to be some kind of Mario game with the new switch. Yep. Which we're still in that window of they could announce it any day between now and March.
01:59:22
Speaker
bar Yeah, so I'm very excited for it I'm also just excited for the switch to just in general. I think it's gonna be very I can't wait for I can't wait for the outs. I just I can't wait. I need to Oh, God. um For me, I took down a list of like games that we know that are our set for 2025 that are coming out. We have Civ 7, Kingdom Cup deliverance to Assassin's Creed Shadows, which did get delayed to 2025. Like a dragon, Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii.
01:59:56
Speaker
yeah that that that I'm saying it now. That's my game of the year next year. That's my game of the year. I really want to get into the series for sure. I mean, you really it's a great series. Start with Kawami one and then play zero. That is what I'll say.
02:00:13
Speaker
All right, sounds good. I feel like we talked about this last time as well, that I wanted to play. It's so difficult because there's so many games. There are eight. I want to so badly. Eight games in the Kiryu saga, two games in the Judgment spinoff series, and then two now. Oh, sorry, there's nine games in the Kiryu saga because Gaiden. Nine games in the Kiryu saga, two games in the Ichiban saga so far, and then the Judgment spinoffs.
02:00:44
Speaker
Yeah. And then there's Yakuza of the Dead, but you can't play that on modern hardware, so. Mm hmm. There's just a lot that looks like it'll be very fun. The thing is, the games just look very fun and really polished for a series that large. Yeah. They've done so many cool things with it. Hell yeah. They're they're fun. um What else? Monster Hunter Wilds next year, as you discussed, we have also Two Point Museum.
02:01:12
Speaker
which the two point the third two-point game in the series, which I will be playing next year, because I'm gonna do my best to pre-order that game so I can get Sonic Shadow gift oh gift shop stuff. I saw that. I remember that. Atelier Yumia, which they showed off at the Xbox Showcase in the Tokyo Game Show, which looks really interesting.
02:01:33
Speaker
Yes, ah I actually want to get into the Atelier series. Atelier, whatever you pronounce it, want to get into that series for sure. Fatal Fury, City of the Wolves for fighting game people, because I know that that's a big deal for like a lot of people in the fighting game communities. Dynasty Warriors Origins. And then also what I'm surprised to learn got ah pushed. Another game getting delayed because it was really supposed to come out this year. state Everything got delayed to next year as well.
02:02:00
Speaker
Oh, really? Yeah, because it was supposed to come out within these next two weeks. And then I just learned and pushed it back. They found more things to date. I guess. yeah I guess so.
02:02:12
Speaker
So that's that got delayed. um So that's coming up next year. And then the games that are planned for 2025, but don't have a release date as of yet. Grand Theft Auto 6, Borderlands 4, Death Stranding 2, Doom the Dark Ages, Dragon Quest 1 and 2, HD 2D Remake, Dude Awakening, Fable, Ghost of Yotei, Judas, Mafia the Old Country, Marvel 1943, Rise of Hydra, Metroid Prime 4, Legends of Yay, and Professor Layton, A New World of Steam,
02:02:41
Speaker
which may lead to the other Professor Layton games finally getting a collection. That would be so nice. I've been wanting to play Professor Layton just for a long time. So having a collection would be really good. I only ever played one Professor Layton game and I cannot remember much about it at all.
02:03:01
Speaker
If the Layton Games get a collection as well, it might mean that we might finally see the Professor Layton Phoenix Wright crossover game come to modern systems. That would be sick. Yes. Oh my God. It would be so nice to have that. Which in turn would then force me to play all the Professor Layton games. I mean, it's worth it. They're really fun. I'd play the first one.
02:03:23
Speaker
Yeah, I mean, hey, next ones are better. I think they do a really good job with the series afterwards. Very fun, great stories for all of them, too. Last thing I want to ask you before we move on to the bonus level, um do you have any predictions for what games might get announced to next year?
02:03:45
Speaker
uh the only one that i was thinking of is the mario there's got to be like another mario game soon no i definitely do there definitely and then for predictions for something that might be revealed ah rather than released would probably be i this is my own like omega cope which i know they're not going to do but i really wish they would uh Another Zelda game, another one like in the style of maybe not in the style of TOTK but like scope or size ah where it's a mainline Zelda game. I don't know if they'll even talk about it for like years because they I know they're gonna make one because they mentioned they're going to make one
02:04:34
Speaker
Uh at some point, but god, I really want something like that revealed Really badly. Yeah ah And then the next thing would be sonic like if this sonic game does well Yeah, that's gonna be the big question. What's next for sonic?
02:04:52
Speaker
Yes, ah because from what we recall, they're saying they're not going to switch the engine from frontiers. They said that it worked well. And it does. I think the frontiers engine works well. I do think that it needed more polish and giving it a second game in that kind of style would be fine it would honestly be really good yeah so i'm hoping that that's what they're doing does the shadow jens side used that engine i'm not sure i'd have to check um
02:05:25
Speaker
it might i don't know um but regardless looks good and i want them to keep going with the whole good looking games thing you know yeah definite um sorry what would you want to say oh god i don't even know at this point like there's so many cool things like i think ah kingdom hearts form realistically oh if that comes out i'll have to get into the kingdom hearts games for sure well you got both be and dawn to help you there
02:05:59
Speaker
i mean um tons i actually edited a video of two videos for people that are kingdom hearts speedruners o i funniest thing is i literally did not know anything about the games
02:06:17
Speaker
while editing the video i literally knew nothing and it was a motded version of the game and they were the a person who was nintan by the way um was reacting to things like oh this isn't in the base game i didn't know what he was reacting to so editing that was very fun um really interesting experience but yeah definitely want to play kingdom hearts especially if there's going to be the latest game the latest game looks
02:06:50
Speaker
interesting already yeah and just insanely beautiful yeah the the latest game requires you to play the mobile game no don't do that to me did you see the one that's like not just a mobile game but like on a specific phone oh yeah that was the original coded yeah original coded required that that is just hilarious yeah so good thing they made recode say the least
02:07:21
Speaker
yeah ah any other game
02:07:26
Speaker
um curious george too
02:07:31
Speaker
i don't i do know actually know what a new sco be do game that would be fun honestly yeah i feel that yeah this more scooby-doo or actually you know what have purple amp remake another old game because prebel amp they reade they're the ones who did the spgeup ball for bikini bottomy make and they're also behind the epic make which i had no clue was purple lamp um give them something to remake again because they've done really good and i'd like to see them go three for three
02:08:08
Speaker
honestly yeah they i feel like their games don't get talked about enough because they're very good they're very well made yeah so i'd like like i like to see them the remake one other old old the game and bring it back ah oh you know what kirby air ride but the switch kirby air ride that would be oh my god oh that would be so fun to have it remade i would be oh no why'd you do this to me now i'm goingnna want it
02:08:42
Speaker
that or like zoonic rids ah sonic ri oh you know what would be even better than sonic writers like like free riders ah sonic rascing
02:08:54
Speaker
old game love that one i want them to remake that or maybe not remake that ah like soing but like like the sotic sega all-stars racing no no no no sorry ah what's the name of the game the really old one that had the song that everyone loved to sing botic art super yeah sonic r there you go not racing sorry sonic r sonic racing there's bell racing ges with sonic cheer there's sonic yeah fineris sonic dr to so soda isga alltars racing
02:09:27
Speaker
i guess think a alltars racing transformed um super soic right ah so the the sonic racing game the son of grae game on mobile ah yeah sos made a lot of rasonic cars r would be incredible because i think they're all they could do so much with just characters actually running and doing a racing game with that i mean because doing that a little bit with the with the new release of sonic grumble when that comes out on yeah i mean it's out out on mobile but it's not it's coming to steam soon too but that's
02:10:02
Speaker
that's a very different concept i feel like because it's it's very much in the all guys yeah of fall guys yeah like he there can be a lot more interesting kinds of gameplay and maybe not like online massive battle royale kind of gameplay yeah and that being said sony rumble does look interesting it does i want to play it when it comes down on steam and give it a try cause it's free so i want to give it a try in a fair oh it's free yeah
02:10:35
Speaker
interest i thought it was ah i thought you had to pay for it no it's free didn't realize it's free it's available on mobile devices right now you can play it on mobile but it will be coming just steam so no wendy but su done hell yeah like the day it comes down like i won't know what comes out and it'll be i just go on my twitch and i see emerald streaming and i'm like oh it's it's time yeah you know that is that's valid like that like legit that's how i that's how i realized that
02:11:06
Speaker
borrow party was out because it was um first off happy belated birthday to our boy emerald who yeah last week ah he was playing the borrow part i'm like oh shit it's out fuck
02:11:19
Speaker
and i it was it was i immediately pla dued cat quest three and we played are up hard on a minute so you so you did that after you've seen after you saw m stream that is wild that you had the ability to finish that in time for this yeah i sp like it was basically i think it was like i so around like two or three o'clock i started playing the game meentie but and then i went until two am m ah you yeah that makes sense that makes a lot of sense
02:11:54
Speaker
plowed through that game got the end credits got the diamond rank already didn't even touch but main game of mario party mode yeah oh my god yeah well i hope you enjoyed the rest of the game then i will i that i will it's it's a it's a good time it's ah it's a very solid mario party game it definitely looks like there was a lot more love put into it than super mario party yeah so definitely they they they realize a mistake they gave us mario party
02:12:25
Speaker
superstars to apologize and then they give us this to be like okay how's this they were like better yeah much more interesting all right well with's that before we ramble on even further um it's time for us to dive in to the bonus level
02:12:43
Speaker
crazy list great deals and recapping gaming history it's all here in the bonus level and starting off with the bonus level it's this week gaming history from october twenty first to november third here's what happened in the past starting with major events ah october twenty first ninety ninety eight nintendo released the game boy color revolutionary revolution loved it it was one of my first consuls really wow yeah ice um october twenty six two thousand sony computer entertainment introduced
02:13:15
Speaker
ah playstation two in north america ah system can play playstation games support dvd-roms dvd video cdros dzs and dulby digital media it was about three hundred u s dollars with ah extra peripherals being the eight yeah goodbyte memory card for thirty four dollars like controler for thirty four dollars and the busy tap adapter for thirty four dollars price of the controller wasn't ah included for the console ah though those are like like separate oh buy another control if you want to buy control an extra nick excel
02:13:50
Speaker
it was thirty four dollars so cheap that's like half the price of a controller nowadays yeah i always expect like a hundred dollars or yeah something like that on the twenty ninth two thousand and one s and k ah japan shuts down the company they were best known for the neogo arcade and home games um november third two thousand and four nintendo begins taking orders for the nintendo ds on internet shopping sites after receiving two million orders during the day
02:14:21
Speaker
both sites were closed taking any further orders that is crazy that's hilarious i mean it was a revolutionary system too yeah super super fun it was i played i've played by i had it i went from the ds light to the dsi to the three ds i went from the ds to ds i to dsi light not in the that order i think and then the three ds i think i had the
02:14:52
Speaker
dsi excel at some point and it was after the three ds wow the thing i loved about it was that the charger i i lost my three ds charger but it was the same as the dsi one yeah that was ahtendo knew how to do it right but that yeah was so i was so thankful for that yeah gay birthdays here's what's turning older october twenty first ah xno gears and bell gears solid
02:15:23
Speaker
turn twenty six ah barro party four turns twenty two ah the twenty second grantft dot three turns twenty three ah the twenty fourth pocobo rumble blast for the three ds ah best poon rumble game as well in my opinion i loved it fantastic super fun i want them to bring back pocamonta rumble i want to back like on the switch not on mobile because the mobile game sucked yeah bring back a good pokemon rumble game because that is but the best spinoff that they did
02:15:56
Speaker
ah but put on rubbbel one blast turns ah thirteen ah that's why there leja zelda majo's maskque turns twenty four ah and disney universe remember disney universe that turns thirteen that is the fact that that came out and the same time as pokemon rumble blast is surprising to me i feel like those were two different eras in my mind yeah ah the twenty six
02:16:28
Speaker
midnightlub street racing armored core two dead are alive two dynasty warriors too eternal ring tech and tag tournament street fighter e x three and time splitter all turned twenty four insane and the reason they're all got groupped together is they were lodge titles for the playstation two oh that makes sense okay i see pretty good launch titles honestly pretty solid yeah are the twenty six as well pickman turns twenty three
02:16:59
Speaker
my favorite game series andre theft alllo savage rays turned twenty years old that is oh so many of these games i'm looking at them and you're saying how old they are and i'm like i remember when that came out and also residentsid evil for turns nineteen ah dan as fable three turns fourteenrantine and that's all the her twenty six on the twenty seventh little big planets birds sixteen
02:17:31
Speaker
and super marial odyssey turns seven that doesn't feel right
02:17:38
Speaker
that is not right to me now but came out yesterday it feels like it honestly ah the twenty eighth ah final fantasy eleven celebrates ah twenty one yeah not twenty one yeah so twenty one years and holy shit and guess what that mmo is still um that you love it still going on to this day as an nmo so twenty one years congratulations final fansy eleven holy free easy oh my god
02:18:10
Speaker

02:18:41
Speaker
pokemon ranger turns eighteen oh and sonic generations turns thirteen
02:18:50
Speaker
that is just pokemon rumble blasts and sonic generations were at the same time basically within a week yeah holy shit you're right they all are as it does not feel re within two yeah within the within yeah within two weeks of each other that's really funny as well because you know how much i place on it yeah but i was i did not even know sonic generations was coming out at that time i was just pumped for pokemon rumble blasts same i love pokemon rubbmble on the we
02:19:23
Speaker
one of the best wear one of the best we wear titles ever in my a kiss and it rubbmble blast if rubble blast was like the perfect followup to it it was it was such a massive game and it felt so fun to play all it was like every pokemon up to gent five had a toy form all the legendary poon were super hard to get because you had to basically play stages and hope that they teleported you to that boss stage and then there were certain ah second like certain trio and would appear rarely
02:19:54
Speaker
and the certain stages as well and you just had to play over and over again until you got lucky yeah there was like so much replayability within that game and then every other rubble game afterwards the one for the we you stocked but it was also because of that game that was like the introduction to the amibow series because it was just the nfc figure but they had for but that was like the i was kind of like the prototype for the amoe but what the amibos became um and then they had
02:20:25
Speaker
another one that came out on the ds that wasn't as good because it was free to play and they had to use currency but then they released it as a full game where you didn't need that but it just kind of like ah and then they had the mobile game which was air as well yeah i i was so excited about the free to play one when it was on the three ds yeah very excited and it didn't really feel as fun because of you know freeto- play aspects yeah we numberify the top five
02:20:55
Speaker
ah top five games to play this halloween because we actually won have an episode have an episode after hollowowy but not for before halloween this is the episode before halloween ah this season so jder what what what games would you recommend for halloween this year ah play

02:21:59
Speaker
and this season's poll if kingdom hars four was to add a disney pixar world but they haven't added yet what world would you add
02:22:11
Speaker
but what world what what world would you add schrader ah and you remember how i said i didn't i edited a video and i did not know exact about king noharth i still do not know anything about king well they basically they go to various disney movies and they do stuff in those worlds so what what disney movie would you add to that of kingdom art series
02:22:38
Speaker
i'll let you know i'll let you know if it's been added before or not so i don't even know what any disney movie thing is i mean ah you know what'd be funny inside out you know what that's i think and that's our yeah we've we've had that one a couple times already off the the poll so i will take it hell yeah let's go all right hey um your deals of the week on epic to free games invinible presents adam eve and cardboard kings are free until october twenty fourth
02:23:13
Speaker
and moving out will be free from october twenty fourth thirty first on the epic game store on steam your steam sal so but pages stae it goes on until october twenty eighth but well rock publisher sail till the twenty seventh and the headup publisher sal as well but playstation fall sale is on until the twenty third so take advantage of that while you still can't and the hallow weed sal on playstation goes till november first the achievement of the week is that dragon ball sparking zero expender which is to spend one million zenny and the game of the week
02:23:44
Speaker
if this' is if yeah if it's not obvious it's not a a shadowow generation absolutely hats to be and the last did not have to be threatened to do that yes for sure absolutely and the guestate recommendation traer if there's wide game old or new that you would recommend to the player the listeners at home like would it be ah you know what i'll say volcano princess go play that that's a fun game all right gross of emotion
