Canadian Geese and Childhood Memories

00:00:28
Speaker
And joining me this week, speedrunner, Twitch streamer, and goosetuber slash silly goose, Risaru. Hello!
00:00:41
Speaker
I love the goose honk so much. It is great. You are probably the only goose on earth that I know that I can tolerate as I am a Canadian and the Canadian geese are the meanest things in the world. They are. They're pretty they're pretty rude. We got a lot of them where I'm from as well. So they they're not nice despite everything else in Canada being pretty good. They're the they're the one thing that they're they're
00:01:09
Speaker
You don't mess with them. You don't mess with them. You really don't. And we can't mess with them either because they're a protected national bird. Yes, they are. So if you mess with them, you get charged.
00:01:20
Speaker
So it's it's it's it's annoying, especially when you go to the local zoo. And I used to work at the zoo for a long time, like a good decade. I worked at a zoo and these geese were mean. And it's like, well, I got to get through. So either you're moving or I'm going to or it's it becomes a Canadian stare down. How are you? Canadian standoff. Exactly. Well, welcome to the podcast. It's a pleasure to finally get you on.
00:01:49
Speaker
Thank you for having me, especially with all the hype that Mattoy has put behind you in the past on the podcast. Oh, I have so much to disappoint with. I can't wait to disappoint everyone.

Game Soundtracks and Controversial Opinions

00:02:04
Speaker
But because you're brand new here, we do get to start with the loading screen where you get to give us your favorite video game, video game character and video game soundtrack.
00:02:15
Speaker
Gosh, I could have I might need we might need like five more episodes for me to like give you like a solid answer on these But I will I will do my best Yeah characters characters always change like like it's so hard for me to put like one character that I'm like Yes, this is the one that I I love but for favorite game I'd probably have to say it's
00:02:37
Speaker
I love Zelda Majora's Mask. I talk about it, but I don't gush about it. That's not my entire personality. But that is one game that probably defined my childhood, defined the rest of my entire development moving forward. I love it. It's charming. It's dark. It's fun. It was a really neat game. And I really liked it. And I still do. Character.
00:03:09
Speaker
Knuckles the echidna a good choice Which variation of knuckles? I listen you if you cannot love him at his worst you do not deserve him at his best Knuckles I don't even care just knuckles all knuckles is good knuckles for me all knuckles all the time Exactly. Yes. Yes, and then gosh a soundtrack
00:03:40
Speaker
for real especially like I'm a huge I'm a huge like a music person like I grew up my mother was a was a music teacher and we did a lot with like bands and concerts and orchestras and things like that so like I was always reaching out for soundtracks and like
00:03:59
Speaker
My own personal video game soundtrack folder is like a couple hundred gigabytes or so. It's rough. I actively, anytime I need to like upgrade like a hard drive, I'm like, all right, I need to make sure I just, I have to be big enough that I can have all of my music and then some. This is, it's so tough.
00:04:22
Speaker
I'm trying to think of what our... I did a tier list of Sonic soundtracks too. Sonic Adventure 2 has a really, really good soundtrack. Everything's kind of a banger. It's charming through and through. I would definitely, if I had to... I don't know if I could pick one, excuse me, or the other, just the Sonic Adventure era soundtracks in general.
00:04:46
Speaker
to find our butt rock. It's good. It's good. It is. And they absolutely are. You see, I used to always be like back and forth on like what the what for my personal favorite was. Yeah. And then I spent two thousand hours in a little well known our MMORPG called Final Fantasy 14.
00:05:05
Speaker
Oh, that one's a good soundtrack. I got I got a few of those ones, too. Yeah, that one's definitely become my favorite after all this time. So great. Oh, God, he really he really is, especially like when you when you hear about his when you when you know his shadow bringer story with him when he adds a while answer treatments.
00:05:24
Speaker
had to step away. And then he came back to the massive response and people loved him. And then, of course, he gave us Lahi, both the Shadowbringer version and, of course, the onstage performance. Do you know Lahi? Do you know Lahi? It's so good. It's so good. That pianist was so nervous.
00:05:49
Speaker
She makes that face with whatever he comes on the stage. So I mean, he kind of warrants that kind of response. He does. He really does. Well, moving from the loading screen, we now go to our second intro question, and that's hot takes. So, Reeseru, what is your hottest video game take? Oh, I have several, but I'm trying to think of one one that won't immediately get me canceled on Twitter. Let's see. Um.
00:06:19
Speaker
Gosh, I mean, one that I've really been thinking of, Sonic 06 is okay. I mean, yeah, it's rough. It's absolutely rough. You can see like, oh yeah, it's not finished. But like out of, I recently played through like all of the mainline Sonic games. I had significantly more fun with that one than a few of the other ones. So 06 is okay. It's just not finished.
00:06:43
Speaker
Yeah. If you want to finish products, you can play project. Oh, I've heard. Yeah. I'm going to have to like, I probably have a, I better have a, have a rig that's powerful enough to play that seamlessly. But, um, definitely something I'll consider looking into for sure. Um, especially since I've, I played the original now, so I don't really have anything to base it off of. Well, I mean, I have something to base it off of, but it's not like I played Oh six or yeah. It's not like I played project. Oh six first. And then they go back to the original. I'm like, Oh,
00:07:10
Speaker
Yeah, it's better to go forward than it is backward. Agreed. A hundred percent. A hundred percent. Shout outs to the number one Project 06 fan, Gordon Ramsey. Yes. Less than on this podcast before as well.

Upcoming Game Events and Announcements

00:07:23
Speaker
Go check out that early season three or four episode. I can't remember the exact one, but go check it out. It's a great episode.
00:07:29
Speaker
Yeah, going moving ahead. We also have our headline of the weekend. It's that season, folks. We are in summer, which means game reveal season is before us. Next episode will be covering Summer Game Fest, the Xbox Showcase, the Call of Duty reveal and so much more. That'll probably happen. But right now we got the PlayStation state of play, which was very
00:08:01
Speaker
to say the least it happened it did happen now there were some games that were that people are excited for they just do not appeal to me uh and we're starting off with a brand new game that they revealed concord they showed us a cinematic trailer for it it looks pretty good very cyber punky and then they're like yeah it's a 5v5 first person shooter
00:08:27
Speaker
And instantly I'm like, okay, well, is it free? No, no, it's not. Oh, well, there's, so the beta is going to be in July. The release date is August 23rd. And I don't, and it's a PlayStation only five V five game.
00:08:46
Speaker
I don't have a lot of high hopes for this game, sadly. You've got other 5v5 games that are free to play on multiple platforms and are basically the same as this. The game does remind me, oddly enough, of Destiny PvP, weirdly. That's the vibe I get from it, which, if you like the Destiny PvP, which means you're an absolute masochist if you do,
00:09:14
Speaker
Or your name is Jackson, the Destiny insider, and you do it because it pains you. But that's become your life. Shout out to the my Destiny Insider Jackson. This game I do not see going very far. It'll probably launch and then die a month later if that, especially if they make it paid, if you have to buy it. If they put it on PlayStation Plus, OK, you kind of alleviate it a little bit.
00:09:42
Speaker
But again, not a lot of high hopes for Concord, sadly. Then we got, I guess, I guess one of the better announcements. God of War Ragnarok coming to PC September 19th. I'll love to see that, love to see that. Dynasty Warriors fans are eating good. Dynasty Warriors Origins was revealed and that's going to be coming next year. So a bit of a wait, but new Warriors game and I know that the Dynasty Warriors fan base are
00:10:10
Speaker
Excited new dynasty warriors. I've never I've only played the Hyrule warriors and The Final Fantasy warrior game stranger of paradise That's what that was kind of so it was the same engine as warriors interesting
00:10:28
Speaker
And it's basically more linear like it was like action. It was like an ARPG in action. OK. It was based. I mean, they're just a stranger. So that's what it's called. Mousseau Mousseau games. Yeah. Yes. OK. Yeah. So that's coming next year. Good to see warriors eating good.
00:10:47
Speaker
Then we got a trailer for Infinity Nikki, which is getting a beta test in quarter three of this year. And this basically looks like, hey, what if we made Princess Peach Showtime anime in a bit more open worldy? That's what you get in this game. And I'm like, OK, I guess.
00:11:15
Speaker
Don't know how to feel about that and also the other game that they showed off and they're by the same devs I can't remember the dev team Ballad of Antara, which seems to be more like a hack slash action game
00:11:26
Speaker
That's coming out 2025 and all we really saw was like a trailer for that So not fully sure what type of game it is, but that's what we're getting then we got two VR titles first off We have sky dances behemoth, which is releasing fall 2024 for PS VR 2 This looks absolutely cool. If you have a VR headset
00:11:46
Speaker
where it's a very gruesome bloody hack and slash but like the fun type of hack and slash in VR and there's giant behemoths as well that you get to fight and try to avoid getting stepped on by unless you're into that I'm not here to shame
00:12:02
Speaker
And also for the alien fans alien rogue incursion will be coming out on PS VR 2 in the holiday, so Alien fans horror fans or people that aren't fans of horror, but you want to prank them into playing a horror game This is the game for you coming out in the holiday season
00:12:21
Speaker
Then we got more another trailer for Marvel Rivals, which is the Marvel 5v5 hero shooter that we're getting They basically revealed a whole bunch of new characters coming including Venom And Adam Warlock, I believe is what his name is. I haven't seen Guardians 3, but I know he was in that So basically just showing more of that off and we're getting a July beta Which I think we knew as well
00:12:48
Speaker
Then we got a trailer for Where Winds Meet, and that was about it. It didn't give us any other details aside from that. Then we got Until Dawn, which is coming to PS5 and PC in the fall of this year. Path of Exile 2 will get early access in late 2024. Then they showed off a new trailer for the Silent Hill 2 remake, which we'll be getting into more later as there was also the Silent Hill intermission.
00:13:14
Speaker
comes out October 8th, and then the big two things that were shown off, a bit more of a gameplay trailer for Monster Hunter Wilds, which is coming next year, and a game I guess no one was really expecting, Astro Bot. Now this is a sequel or a follow-up game to the free game that comes with all PlayStation 5's, Astro's Playroom.
00:13:37
Speaker
This comes out September 6 and it's basically a sequel to the game. So action platformer 3d action platformer nice a cute little game where you play as the Astro bot There's a lot of PlayStation references So this is the game that I am actually most excited for in the entire state of play and That was the

Recent Game Releases and Merchandise

00:13:59
Speaker
state of play. Did you have any thoughts on any of those recent? Did you watch it? I?
00:14:03
Speaker
So I was at work when that happened. So anything that I just figured, I'm like, all right, guys, I'm at work in the group chat. If anything comes up that I'm going to scream at, just yell at me. Nobody yelled at me. So I think the only thing that I'm sort of looking at here, definitely Silent Hill 2. That is the only one that I've played all the way through.
00:14:29
Speaker
Definitely made me poop myself, so I do have some fun memories with that one. I honestly should go back and play that, because that's just a wild game in general. That was kind of all I was looking at, and then I booted up Steam the other day, and I got an ad for it, and they're like, hey, you can pre-order it now. It's $70. I'm like, yeah, I'm going to wait. Yup. Like, yeah, shoot. Yeah, you're right. Gotta love modern video game prices. It's absurd. This is why I'm like,
00:15:00
Speaker
Probably in what, three weeks, we'll have the steam summer sale. So I'm just going to pray. Oh, yeah. That's that's coming up now. I guess it is. Holy shit. Hopefully it's ready. Get your wallets ready, kids. Time to fill your backlog with games you might play. Looking at my 200 games in my library, you know, I've only played like maybe 10 percent of them. But anyway.
00:15:24
Speaker
Anyway, that was the state of play. Overall, I think of a majority when Jeff Healy made the tweet of like, hey, what would you grade it? A majority of the people said a C or a D wasn't great. That's valid. I was valid. Very valid, honestly. It wasn't a lot of like heavy hitters that we were people thought it would be. There are some sleepers in there, definitely, but it just wasn't a lot of
00:15:50
Speaker
And this stands out. Exactly. Yeah. Well, moving on, because we have two other showcases that happened, plus a whole bunch of plethora of other gaming news. Here's what happened in the past two weeks within the week in review. Recapping the major stories of video games and the world of tabletop, looking over recent releases and reports from the game lounge crew, it's the week in review.
00:16:16
Speaker
Starting off as some games that came out in the past two weeks that you might want to keep an eye on, that you might want to pick up. Said it was Saga, Hellblade 2 released, X Defiant, Multiverses, Paper Mario, The Thousand Year Door Remake, World of Goo 2, and a sleeper hit. You do not want to miss this. I played this...
00:16:36
Speaker
Legit the day before we were recording this duck detective. The secret salami is a funny Fantastic indie game short two hours long. It is great. There's salami. There's a dedicated quack button Oh and you're a detective. It's a great game. It's a solid solid two hours of your time happily wasted
00:16:59
Speaker
There's the only game of that list that I actually purchased. I've yet to play it, but I purchased it. So it's great. It is a great game. I would highly recommend it. All right. Good to know. As for your video game news, Konami had a whole Silent Hill transmission stream. It was about.
00:17:19
Speaker
30 20 to 30 minutes long I can't be exact time They mostly focused on Silent Hill 2 showing a longer extended gameplay gameplay demo really Revealed that hate you can pre-order it now on PlayStation 5 and Steam Here's what you get with the bonuses, which is mostly some In-game masks you can wear I think it's the Shiba Inu mask an exclusive mask to PlayStation and if you get the deluxe edition get a mask for pyramid head that you can wear
00:17:50
Speaker
Uh, that was basically about it. Then they're like, Oh, hey, also, we're working on a new Silent Hill movie. Return to Silent Hill, which is a movie based on Silent Hill to actually.
00:18:02
Speaker
Yeah, actually, like actually this time, like actually this time, like they're like it's going to be like a faithful rendition of it. And they've got like a bunch of Silent Hill fans are like part of the crew for this and like, OK, OK. All right. It's it's looking all right. It was mostly like a good behind the scenes dive. No actual trailer for it. Gotcha. Yeah. I have the original two movies.
00:18:28
Speaker
And they're good if you pretend that they weren't based off of video games. Yeah. And then they ended the show by going through a bunch of a whole bunch of new Silent Hill versus come in, including a Nendoroid pyramid head figure. The Shiba Inu ending coin bank where you have the Shiba Inu at the console and it's a piggy bank.
00:18:51
Speaker
That's beautiful. There's also going to be a limited edition coin puzzle set in a whole lot more. I think there was some clothing articles that showed off and a bunch as well. So if you're a Silent Hill fan and looking for some new merch, hey, there you go. It's coming soon. I don't think there is a release date for any of them yet. I think you could preorder a few of them, but.
00:19:12
Speaker
uh yeah that's uh that was the silent hill transmission overall is a good show if you if you love silent hill it's a good show i'm middle of the road because i just i'm not a big horror guy i never really got into silent hill
00:19:26
Speaker
Then there was the Marvelous Games Showcase, and Marvelous Games, as people know, are famously known as the producers of Harvest Moon, now known as A Story of Seasons. And this was hosted and narrated by Sora Amamiya, the famous voice actor for Aqua, for Konosuba.
00:19:46
Speaker
Akame from a comic a kill cost me from persona 5 royal Elizabeth from sadly devinsons and more. She was the host of this show which I'm like, oh, that's neat. That's pretty cool And they got right into the trailer starting off with a brand new a game called for maggie for magia Which showed the essentially the intro video which is basically your anime opening that you get for a lot of these a lot of those games I'm like man
00:20:15
Speaker
watching this, this looks a lot like fairy tale. Why does this look a lot like fairy tale? Turns out the artist for this game, lead art designer, is Hiro Mashima, the guy who did Fairy Tail, Rave Master, and Eden Zero. I'm like, oh yeah, that makes total sense. That is Hiro Mashima's work. The game is set for a 2024 release date with the plot being about the connection between humans and monsters and fighting together alongside each other.
00:20:41
Speaker
Look sounds interesting. Um, hopefully there's a gameplay trailer out soon because I might check it out because I am a fan of hero Mashima's work I am a huge fairy tale fan. I've watched it all I want to watch Eden zero But they're not gonna dub the second fucking season of it because they switched cheese thing that is I want to watch it But it's like I want to watch it dubbed because I watch season one. It's it's a whole thing regardless Story of seasons
00:21:07
Speaker
That was next, and they're like, hey, here's some new footage from it. It had a paraglider, updated graphics with the cows and the chickens. No title, though. No title and no release date. It was more just a teaser for it. So new story of season games, maybe next year.
00:21:24
Speaker
So look forward to that. Then they got the stuff that's kind of in Japan only showing off a new video for the Bakuriman Wonder Collection, which is a mobile game for Japan. They showed off the new Pokemon arcade machine that's going to be in Japan in July, where you get to win collectible plates. It's kind of like Pokemon Go-esque, but you got a limited Pokemon. It looks really cool. And they also showed off their brand new UFO catcher machines, the Tri-Catch.
00:21:53
Speaker
And those will be in Japan in November. Then they showed off three indie games that they're working along. You got Bow, The Path of the Teal Lotus, which is an action platformer set for an Asian release date later this year. No word on a North American release date. Death of the Guitar. This game looks hilarious. You play as an electric guitar, your master was killed, and you got to go avenge him.
00:22:22
Speaker
And that comes out 2025. And then Moonlight Peaks, which is a supernatural farm sim where you play as the son or daughter of Dracula. And that's set to come out in 2026.
00:22:35
Speaker
Then we got some stuff for the new rune factory game rune factory project dragon its tentative title We got the reveal of the protagonist Subaru and Kaguya and they're like hey guys instead of farming this time around you're a dancer use the power of dance in the samurai to Kill things
00:22:55
Speaker
All right. OK, that's interesting. And then we got a reveal trailer for Damon X Machina Titanic Sion, which is a sequel to the Damon X Machina, which people you may you might remember this. This was a mech game that came out on the switch exclusively, I think. Yeah, so I was surprised to see this because I'm like, I think I talked about this when I started the podcast, like the first the first game.
00:23:24
Speaker
And that was the Marvelous Showcase. It was it was good. It was it was it was it was solid. It was a lot of salt, like solid, but not great shows this time around. Feels more colorful than.
00:23:38
Speaker
state of play, but that's just me. Yes, it was it was definitely much more colorful. They had a lot of pops and, you know, they tried to make it as exciting as they could in the world of news. Starting off, Nintendo has announced a brand new Lego set coming for Legend of Zelda fans. The Great Deku Tree Set, which you can preorder now for the low, low price of three hundred US dollars. All right.
00:24:09
Speaker
Uh, which I mean, it's cool that they're like, it was even doing this in the first place for sure. Lego Lincoln, Zelda are now in Lego.
00:24:20
Speaker
That's the cooler thing, I think, about this. Actually, the cooler thing about this is I think we're like a franchise away, which is Kirby, from getting, because if Kirby gets Lego, we could technically get Lego Smash Brothers, because then we have Mario, Pokemon, Link, Zelda, and Kirby, which are the four main series. We just need F-Zero in there. F-Zero or the found Metroid and Star Fox to round it out.
00:24:50
Speaker
Exactly. We're close to Lego Smash Bros. That's all I'm saying. That's all I'm saying. They could do it. They could do it soon.
00:24:58
Speaker
Dave the diver's Godzilla DLC they announced that is coming out November 23rd It's gonna be free, but it's only gonna be out for a limited. Oh, sorry. It's only gonna be out until November 23rd Mostly because of licensing because it is Godzilla. So when the DLC comes out, which I think is soon Grab it quick because you don't want to miss it and miss your chance that I don't know I don't know what Dave is gonna do to Godzilla but
00:25:25
Speaker
He might even eat Godzilla. He might turn Godzilla into sushi. Just say it. I mean, I would try it. I mean, I would try it too. I'd try Godzilla sushi. We all know how good it is. It might be good. It could be great. It could be great. Godzilla's just been stewed. If you think about it, Godzilla's just been stewing in the ocean for decades. It's been marinating. That saltwater baby. Exactly. Exactly.
00:25:56
Speaker
In a rare Nintendo news, they've made a rare studio acquisition, which doesn't happen often. They bought Shiver Entertainment. They are a Miami-based support specialist from Embracer Group. Shiver notably was the studio that somehow managed to bring both
00:26:14
Speaker
Mortal Kombat 1 and Hogwarts Legacy to the Switch in 2023. Both of those ports, however, were awful. So I think Nintendo bought them just so that way. I don't know, their ports are no longer awful or they're just putting them out of their misery. One of the two.
00:26:35
Speaker
In Pokemon news, the Pokemon Cubby International announced that it's bringing the colorful and playful Pokemon Soda Pop plush collection to the states. Starting now, US-based fans can purchase the toys exclusively via the Pokemon Center website. And they looked pretty cool. They look cute. I like Pokemon plushies. I don't own any, but they look pretty cute.
00:27:00
Speaker
You should change that. You should fix that. I want there is a like a duo plushy set of Umbreon and Espeon that I have my eyes on. They are my favorite Pokemon. So there I want to get them because Coliseum was my first Pokemon game. Oh, that's a good one. That's a fun one.
00:27:18
Speaker
As I mentioned earlier, Call of Duty, actually, I didn't mention this, Call of Duty Black Ops 6 was revealed as the next Call of Duty game and what's going to be revealed in the showcase after the Xbox game showcase in June. So that's what the games are going to reveal more about in the post Xbox show is Black Ops 6, which I'm a little surprised that we're getting another Black Ops game like this soon, I guess. Yeah.
00:27:48
Speaker
But I mean, I don't mind it. I think black ops is probably one of the better Call of Duty series story wise But that's just me
00:27:59
Speaker
In modding news the red kit modding tools for the Witcher 3 Wild Hunt and full Steam Workshop support are now live for the game Which is a huge thing and a huge win for the modding community for the Witcher 3 and everyone's really excited about this because it's just like absolute Balls to the wall modding that is gonna happen now and it's great. We love that
00:28:24
Speaker
In Street Fighter news Akuma was released in the Street Fighter 6 last Street Fighter 6 DLC. They are the last character of the year 1 DLC and Thank God because now I can know I am done playing Street Fighter 6 now because I've played Akuma I could quit I can happily quit the game and not play it anymore and pay more money for the next DLC pass I'm done with Street Fighter 6 now

Final Fantasy XIV and Community Events

00:28:53
Speaker
uh hey kingdom hearts is coming to steam that was a that was a huge unexpected announcement from square uh june 13th june 13th haha funny number there namora uh and they're also getting exclusive keyblade for kingdom hearts three dead of night uh so look forward to that because you can finally play the games on steam instead of just on epic whoo
00:29:18
Speaker
In Netflix news, Netflix announced that they're creating a Minecraft series. The Wild Brain is the studio behind this, and they're the people who brought us Sonic Prime. So now they're working on Minecraft. Cool. Yeah, they could probably do it well. I think so. Prime had good. It just looked good. Very eye-catching for sure.
00:29:45
Speaker
And lastly, Powerwash Simulator announced its roadmap for 2024, revealing a free summer seasonal DLC, two more Muckingham files coming down the line, two additional free DLCs that are going to be seasonal, and two more paid DLCs. What those paid DLCs are, we do not know yet.
00:30:07
Speaker
But considering they've gotten War Hammer, Final Fantasy, Tomb Raider, and SpongeBob SquarePants all in the same game, it could be anything. Which I personally think we're going to go clean up the Kids' Choice Awards and clean up all the slime that was on the stage. That'd be so good. That'd be a funny one. That'd be so good. I think it would be a funny one. Like, we're abandoned Nickelodeon Studios in Orlando. Yeah.
00:30:40
Speaker
Exactly In the live service game news department starting off with everyone's favorite Final Fantasy 14 We are less than a month away from Don trails early access on June 28th, which I am very very excited for Have you pre-ordered Don trail read through?
00:30:58
Speaker
I have not yet. I am still in patch content for Heavensward, so I'm very behind. I've been playing for about a year, but I've also gone through four different jobs in the last year, so I'm just getting my stuff together. It's also hard for me to progress plot when the Okai Watch event's going on right now.
00:31:22
Speaker
Oh, yeah. Yeah. I'm going to say this. Fuck the Yo-Kai watch event. It's God. I love Yo-Kai watch, but I will agree. Like getting all of this stuff for it, farming for fates is tricky and just tedious and annoying. But like I love the Yo-Kai. I love Yo-Kai watch. Yeah, I think I grinded the entire event in three days. I think I was I was it was a dumb move on my part, but
00:31:51
Speaker
It was like, well, I've got nothing else to do. I have to switch to blue base, beige, hop over to Dynamis and hope that no one's doing fates. And it worked. It worked 90 percent of the time. Oh, well, that worked. I also need to I need to make sure that I at least just need to start Stormblood because one of the the the Yokai that has the gun blade
00:32:14
Speaker
Oh, yeah. Yeah, there's. Yeah, there's in that area. Yeah. Two guys are tied to the storm blood fates. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So I just need to I'm I'm I'm close. I can't remember what my last event was. So like minor, minor possible spoilers, earmuffs, earmuffs. Well, there's a word. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Which is like a little bit older, but still. Yeah. It was the melee that they did.
00:32:39
Speaker
Oh, the one the one where it's like, oh, hey, Iskard versus the other three, you just like to rally the spirits. Yeah. Yeah. That was it. That's all I remember. I mean, that's a cool. That's a cute. It was fun. It was that was that after the end of the war or is the war still happening? Like the one with the dragons.
00:33:00
Speaker
That that wrapped up, but a studio is still out there. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. I like it because I okay. Oh wow. So that means you're still in dragon song then. Oh my God. You are. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Wow. You got a lot to look for. You have a lot to look forward to. It's really, that's what, yeah. Like you will, like once you get to like,
00:33:23
Speaker
I mean, I mean just prepare to cry with I think when you reach when you reach the point three by the 3.3 patch content prepared Oh dear. Oh jeez. Okay. Yeah. Yeah As for other events currently going on aside from the yokai watch event Which is on until the release of Don trail the moogle tome stone event is on until June 24th where you could save up and get yourself a
00:33:46
Speaker
Honestly, not a whole lot. I would say the most worth thing to get is the Domakin minion because that is only available through subnautic voyages or it's worth like half a million Gil on the market board. So get it through this event. It'll save you a hassle. As for the mounts, I have them all already. So like it was legit.
00:34:07
Speaker
Worth nothing to me. The Doma Kid was the only thing I have spent it on. Everything else I've got spent on MGP because I'm saving up for the 2 million MGP mount. Because that's how close I am.
00:34:19
Speaker
Uh, and also the Dragon Quest 10 event returns on June 5th and runs until the 20th This is a series of quests that feature some exclusive faiths. I believe that you have to do you get the slime King crown a Mask of oh god the brute the brute mask or something like that and the rock
00:34:46
Speaker
The the goal of rock, goal of minion. They're all from Dragon Quest. Those are the three things that you can get from the event in Battle Royale, live service, free to play game news, lethal company was added to Fortnite as in the lethal company costume guy. He's important right now. All right. Good. Good for them as well as the emote like the main dance emote in lethal company. That's also in the in Fortnite now.
00:35:14
Speaker
That's wild because isn't lethal company like one person. It's the only one person. I think it's one person. Yeah, it is. So that's crazy, but it's funny. I. Hey, yeah, they can fight back now. In the Hoyaverse news, we have a special report coming live from our Hoya reporter, some fellow.
00:35:43
Speaker
Big news happening at Hoeyverse starting off with Boo Hill making its debut in Star Rail. Natlin's due date is closer than we thought. And then the Zone Zero finally has a release date. My name is Mello and this is your Hoeyo Report. On the other side of the Sumeru Desert, the pyro nation of Natlin is almost ready to be released in the summer. If you haven't finished Fontaine's Archon Crest yet, now is the time to do so, myself included. In the meantime, feel free to roll for Clorend.
00:36:13
Speaker
Honkai Star Rail's Boo Hill is ready to join the Astral Express. Become part of the Galaxy Rangers and roll for him before he's gone. Twitter's going crazy for him, not gonna lie. Speaking of Twitter going crazy, Xeno Zone Zero is ready to be released July 4th after two long years of being announced. While we wait for July 4th,
00:36:35
Speaker
We got the character trailer for Lyacon, and let's just say he's got everybody on Twitter crazy for him. Pre-register for Zenda Zone Zero on anywhere you play games. My name is Mello, and this has been your Hoiwork Report. Thanks for that, Mello. In Destiny 2 news, Destiny 2 is getting a crazy crossover with Dungeons & Dragons.
00:36:57
Speaker
adding a whole bunch of D&D-inspired armor, and also the Final Shape. I believe by the time you're listening to this, it's out now, I think, or it's out soon. Regardless, Final Shape, it's closing in. Nathan Fillion's back. Keith David is the new Zavala. And the end of the story is nigh.
00:37:21
Speaker
And lastly in your eSports news our apex legends reporter mist is standing by it's your boy mist here with your update into all things apex legends related Let's start off with the big eSports news players Imperial how zero and Jen Burton have officially signed to the Saudi Arabian organization known as Falcon eSports They will however continue to play in the NA region, but they will be repping the Falcon banner
00:37:47
Speaker
for all future tournaments, including the upcoming Esports World Cup. Team SoloMid has officially signed Zapto from the Elevate roster, replacing Imperial Howl as the main fragger. Reps and Verhulst will be co-IGLing. NRG has re-entered the ALGS, picking up the old exit roster of Nocturnal Reptar, FunFPS, and the Coach Hodsik. With the first day of Pro League being June 1st, the roster mania should be over for now. But don't worry, I'll keep you updated if anything crazy happens.
00:38:15
Speaker
There will be a pro league every weekend for the next four weeks. In more Apex news, Realms has returned. For those of you who do not know, Realms is a third-party organization that hosts a solo queue ranked experience, where pros and top ranked grinders can jump into a queue and get random teams every lobby. Each player earns points on their individual skill and placements per match, earning a cash prize at the end of it all.
00:38:37
Speaker
Imperial Hal is the first in the leaderboard for NA and second overall proving he might not be that washed after all. We are just a few weeks into this season and Altair has certainly dropped in pick rate. As for other legends Bangalore and Bloodhound are both still top two picks for both Ranked and ALGS. If you don't like those legends you might want to stay away from Ranked lobbies because they are flooded. There has been some recent swapping from Caustic to Catalyst however
00:39:01
Speaker
changing up the meta just a little bit. We will see if there's any balance changes in the future that really mix things up. But for now, there's been no update to content or any balance changes since the new season dropped. Stay tuned for what might be to come. Until then everyone, stay legendary.
00:39:18
Speaker
Thanks, Mist! Moving on to the world of TCG in Pokรฉmon, the Twilight Masquerade set is out now! And the next set, Shrouded Fable, releases August 2nd. In Yu-Gi-Oh! the 25th anniversary, Rarity Collection 2 is out now. And Battles of Legend, Terminal Revenge, releases later this month on the 21st, The Infinite Forbidden on July 19th, and the TCG 25th anniversary 10, Dueling Mirrors on September the 20th.
00:39:47
Speaker
In Magic the Gathering News, Modern Horizons 3 releases on June 14th, Universes Beyond, Assassin's Creed makes its way July 5th, Bloomborough on August 2nd, and I believe pre-orders are still up for the Hatsune Miku secret lair collaboration, which is six Hatsune Miku inspired cards.
00:40:07
Speaker
And lastly, in Disney's Lorekana, Ursula's Return is out now. I don't think we know what Set 5 is called yet, but that release is on August 23rd. And also, the first official Lorekana tournaments were held over the Memorial Day weekend in Lillie, France and Atlanta, Georgia.
00:40:27
Speaker
Frank Karsten, who was an MTG pro to our player, won the first Lorkana tournament, which was won in Lillie, France. That one ended first, making Frank the first Lorkana winner. And this is the craziest part. The Lorkana Challenge Champion's prize package includes a binder filled with one foil version of every tournament legal card currently in print.
00:40:54
Speaker
including the line's coveted and rare enchanted cards. It also includes an alternate art gold foil version of Mickey Mouse's Brave Little Tailor. Only 500 of these cards have been produced, each one serialized with his own unique number, and the number that he got was number 100. That is a crazy prize for Lorkana.
00:41:21
Speaker
That is a lot of cards to get. And it's like, well, God damn, maybe I should pick up Lorcona and her tournaments and try to win a binder full of these Disney cards now, because that's just crazy. Yeah, I've seen the the packs like in stores, but I really wasn't sure what it was because I know Disney is doing a lot like I know Mirrorverse was a thing that they tried to do and
00:41:44
Speaker
Dreamlight Valley and then those things and I'm like, what the heck is this Lorkada? Like what is this? So yeah, it's like it's going off to the right start It is like the game looks fun as well. I want to pick I want to pick it up But there's like I want to see if there's like an online version that I can pick up to kind of learn the game a bit But I don't know if there is one yet. If there is it's not officially made by
00:42:07
Speaker
Right. Yeah, I think I think Disney could make a lot of money by making an online like a Lorkana online, like M.T.G. online and Yu-Gi-Oh! mastered Pokemon. And the Pokemon TCG, too. Also, speaking of Pokemon, what is that the TCG collect app? What is that coming out to? I wish we had a date for that. Oh, I have no idea.
00:42:27
Speaker
Because like the part of me that just loves opening packs of shit is like going barrel for this app right now. Like I want it, right?
00:42:38
Speaker
But that's the week in review. Do you have any comments on any of those stories there, Reese, do any final comments? I don't really have anything. I know I gotta really be on my toes this month for Final Fantasy XIV now. I think as of next week or something, I'll have been playing for about a year, so I just need to
00:43:02
Speaker
get my stuff together. I know there's like a lot of events that I want to do and just story grinding. But I've been off so much that I'm hesitant to go back into like dungeons with randos because I'm just not as confident as I used to be. So I'm like, don't be mad at me. Well, the good thing, you could use the trust finder, which is yeah. Every story dungeon has access to it now. So there is always that as a backup.
00:43:26
Speaker
Mm hmm. Yeah. And then I think it's that. I think I have the Alexander raids going on, which you can actually queue for now instead of whatever Bahamut was. So. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Well, you see the coil. No one queues for the coils. No one anymore. No one keeps the coils anymore. Yeah. No. Every every other raid series going forward. There's a queue for them and do this. Yes. And yeah. Right. But yeah, no one. No one queues for coils.
00:43:54
Speaker
My friend was so sweet. She was just like, if you want to do these, let me know. We'll go in Unsynced and you can get the story for it. I'm like, OK, thank you. That's what I did with a few of my friends took me through it Unsynced. And I'm like, Oh, cool. Look at all this story. And meanwhile, they're at the end of the they're like ready to kill the boss when I leave the cutscene. I'm like, all right. It's gone. Oh, OK.
00:44:18
Speaker
Thanks. I honestly didn't care at the time because I was still so new and everything was so shiny looking. And now the rain two thousand hours in, which is like, yeah, geez, like what three years now, I think. Oh, that's wild. Three years. Well, you know, two years, two years, two years in.
00:44:35
Speaker
Oh, my goodness. Yeah, I know. I have no life this game. I have done every piece of side content in this game, aside from aside from like current raid tier and extreme tier stuff. Yeah. Yeah. And Shadowbringer raids, three Shadowbringer Savage raids and like the ultimates because I'm never going to do a fucking ultimate unless I'm like actually decide, OK, well, I have nothing left. It's time to.
00:45:02
Speaker
Right? Like this is what I got. Yeah. I like I've almost done everything that I can do with current rates here. Oh, that's right. Past rate tiers and side content is just two pieces of very hard content for really cool mounts, which one of them have to like essentially just join a separate discord for it because that's the only way to really queue for it. Oh, sheesh. Yeah. I'll say it's named because it's like locked behind.
00:45:32
Speaker
this post-storm. It's called the Valdezian arsenal. For those who know what the Valdezian arsenal is. Yeah, I just finished the content to unlock it finally, which is a...
00:45:49
Speaker
I don't even want to go into it because it was traumatized. It was... it was...

Upcoming Game Releases and Reviews

00:45:54
Speaker
pain. So before I relive my PTSD, let's talk about what games are coming out from June 3rd to 14th. Here's what should be on your radar. From AAA titles, indie hits, hidden gems, and hot pieces of garbage, here are the games coming out that should be on your radar.
00:46:13
Speaker
And starting it off, no games on the third, but on the fourth, Destiny 2, the final shape, so the day after, if you're listening to this on the Monday, it comes out tomorrow. It comes out for everything but the Switch. Killer Clouds from Outer Space, the game releases on PlayStation 5, Series X, and PC. Star Wars Hunters releases on the Switch and mobile, and Life Before You enters PC early access. No game releases on the fifth, but on the sixth, Assassin's Creed Mirage goes to iOS devices.
00:46:42
Speaker
and the Smurfs Village Party releases on everything. No releases on the 7th or 10th, but on the 11th, Rocket Knight Adventures resparks comes to both PlayStations, the Switch and PC, and VRising makes its way to the PlayStation 5.
00:46:58
Speaker
Nothing on the 12th, but on the 13th, Taskmaster VR, this is the Taskmaster that's based on the UK show, or Australian, one of the two, releases on the Quest 2 and 3, and on PC. Not Taskmaster Deadpool. Not Deadpool Taskmaster, the comedy improv challenge show Taskmaster.
00:47:27
Speaker
And on the 14th, Monster Hunter Stories, the first one releases for the PlayStation 4 Switch and PC. And Monster Hunter Stories 2, Wings of Ruin, watches for the PS4. And Shin Megami Tensei 5, Vengeance, releases on everything.
00:47:44
Speaker
And those are all the games that are coming out within the next two weeks. Big ones, of course, being Destiny 2 for the Final Shape. Big for all the Destiny 2 players. But Killer Clouds from Outer Space, that's finally coming out. This is a 11v3, I believe, of Take Dead by... Honestly, Take Friday the 13th.
00:48:09
Speaker
Flash dead by daylight and it's like you have three killer clowns. I think it's like 11 or 12 or even like 15 people I can't remember how many like on the survivor side, but it's three of you like 10 plus and It's based off of the
00:48:25
Speaker
80 smooth is it 80 is it 80? Yes. I got it. Okay. Let's go. I got it, right? Yes, I do believe so Based off of the cult classic killer clowns from outer space
00:48:38
Speaker
And then there's really a lot of like nothing until the 14th where you got the monster hunter stories games getting released off of switch exclusivity and shouldn't have got me 10 say five vengeance. The definitive version of the game. Thanks Atlas for all those people who bought the original game on switch only not expecting this. But then again, I think we kind of all expected it because it's Atlas and they like to do this with their games.
00:49:08
Speaker
This is true. I'm not going to play it. I like Persona. I never really got into Shin Megami. SMT. Yeah, I never really got SMT. I enjoy it. I've seen clips and like how horny some of the monsters are and they're like, oh my God. God damn.
00:49:28
Speaker
Yeah, yeah, SMT, it predates Pokemon. Yeah. It's more, it was kind of like one of those early, essentially monster catching RPGs, but instead you like, what's the word? You negotiate with the demons. Like, hey man, I'll be your ex-wife. Hey man, let me turn on my Riz. Yeah, and then they'll be like, ooh, such Riz, I'll join you. Yeah, exactly. Like, ooh, I'll join you. And then they'll be like, wait a minute.
00:49:59
Speaker
You smell and then they go away or something. If for people wondering, if you play Persona 5 Royal with how you can recruit personas, that's essentially the premise of the entire, of like how you recruit them is like the Persona 5 Royal. Yes, yes. Except you get only personas and not individual people. Yes, these are individual demons who have their own rights and
00:50:26
Speaker
and the sometimes Dante from the Devil May Cry series. Yes, sometimes Dante from Devil May Cry. I keep forgetting about that with SMT3. I physically went out of my way to make sure that I do that.
00:50:42
Speaker
I think there's clip footage of me doing that part of the game and Dante's AI is terrifying. He chases you and he will shoot at you. It turns completely into survival horror, except it's with Dante. It's Dante from Devil May Cry.

VTubing Journey and Streaming Tips

00:51:00
Speaker
This is what it felt like to be the Pope in Devil May Cry 4. Oh, my God, for real. Oh, man.
00:51:12
Speaker
Oh, God, I love the Devil May Cry series. Yeah, they're so great. Gosh, I was I was going through those a few years ago. I haven't played five yet. I've only heard good things about it, though. It is good. I played I played one, three and four. You skipped two. Yeah, no, I skipped the best one. Honestly, I was better. I will say the the combat is better in two than the first one.
00:51:37
Speaker
valid valid but the story huh that was rough and then three was great and four was great phenomenal threes on my please speed run this list I'm just bad at three I'm really bad I'm really bad at three but I like it
00:51:56
Speaker
It's good. It's it's good. It punish. It'll punish you if you yeah It's that it kind of like perfected that combat system. It's like well, you can't you can't just keep hitting the x button you loser I can't remember where I watched at GDQ I don't remember if it was that the twitchcon GDQ from last year. It was just a GDQ Just one of the GDQs in general. I watched the devil may cry free run. I
00:52:21
Speaker
And I'm like, oh, I'm just bad at this game because I'm like looking at this shit. I'm like, yeah, no, this is just like, like, it was doing some basic combat shit. I'm like, oh, I was just bad at the game. Yeah, sometimes. Yeah, like I'm just like, man, if only. Anyways, that's it for the games that are going to be on your radar. It's now time for us to dive in and talk about our main focus this week in the game.
00:52:49
Speaker
Conversations of past and future games, the state of the gaming industry, how big decisions affect gamers and anything else that's important to us. Here's what's going down this week in the Game Lounge.
00:53:02
Speaker
And today we're talking about some VTubing which we it's been I think a good year since we've talked about it with former VTuber Tina Chino Tina Chino who transitioned out of VTubing into Proper face cam to face cam streaming and whatnot but with you Risu it kind of went the opposite where you started as a face cam streamer and then transition to goose and
00:53:28
Speaker
Yes, yes, my Goosening happens. The Goosening. The Goosening, yes. So before we get to that specifically, I just want to ask what got you into streaming and also speedrunning, because that is one of the major things that you do. You've been at GDQ a few times as well. I have, yes. Yeah, I was able to perform at, I believe it was AGDQ 2022 question mark.
00:53:53
Speaker
That sounds right, because I remember I watched your Sonic R run. Yes, yes, that's what that was. And that was that was dope. That was awesome. And then there have been a few times where I've been I have been able to perform at the Frame for Tales events.
00:54:11
Speaker
through GDQ. So that is exclusively all women's speed running event that goes for a month. And those will benefit different charities. For a few of the years, there was the Malala Fund. And I believe the most recent one was Women's Law Center, just helping women in a lot of legal issues and
00:54:33
Speaker
Women's rights and things like that. So it's always it's always it's always a pleasure and an honor and a privilege whenever They are like, yeah, you can perform and
00:54:44
Speaker
run with us again. I'm like, thank God, thank you. You guys are too nice to me. Thank you. I am just a humble goose. I'm just a silly goose on the Internet who plays Sonic games. Like, thank you. So, yeah, speedrun kind of came later. But streaming, it's always kind of been something I was interested in, but I never really had the time. So some events that happened, which permitted me to like a little bit more free time and a little more time to like
00:55:13
Speaker
devote to this as kind of a hobby and later kind of another job. I do take it a lot more seriously now. I will physically go out of my way to make sure that my work schedule can be accommodated so that I have my consistent streaming schedule there.
00:55:34
Speaker
and I just kind of stick with it and it's going really well. So I just like games. I just like sharing and playing games. And I do, I don't know, I'm just very passionate about those. I like messing around in games. I like playing them and experiencing them and just sharing them with people who may not have the ability to do so or just want to see some
00:55:59
Speaker
someone play a game that they liked or things like that. So I'm always happy to go and do that stuff. So it's fun. It's fun. How did you get into speed running first? What got you into speed running?
00:56:14
Speaker
It kind of started as a joke, actually. So every year, my best friend and I, we would go to MAGFest, and then usually when we would come back, GDQ would be showing. So we would watch GDQ. And then during the summers, we would typically go to ColossalCon. And when we came back, it would either be Summer Games Done Quick or like E3.
00:56:38
Speaker
RIP. So we would kind of watch those and we would watch some of the other runners and be like, oh wow, that's really cool how those games work. And then just one day she was just like, you should speedrun this. I'm like, I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. And then I kind of started looking into Sonic R because that was a game that I had played like
00:57:04
Speaker
an excessive amount of during my childhood. We had the PC version. So I would just go into the game. I would actually play with my brother a lot or my cousin and we would just go into like the balloon mode and we would explore the stage and we would like take areas and be like, all right, this is my house. And then we'd both be like Eggman and we'd go around and shoot each other. So it was fun. Yeah.
00:57:30
Speaker
10 rings. All right, pal. So because of that, though, I was very, very familiar with every single nook and cranny of those stages. So then I was like, yeah, I could probably just get through this in a sitting. And then casually during college, there would just be days where I feel like playing Sonic R between classes. So I'd just sit down. I'd do the whole thing in 20 minutes and be like, all right, cool. And then same friend was like, have you looked at speedruns for this?
00:57:59
Speaker
kind of and like I did and like I think at the time the only one that had existed really was I believe it was Berlin their GDQ run which has completely outdated tech at this point but still like I watched it I looked at it and then eventually I kind of got a little bit more into that I was like you know I could probably do this
00:58:21
Speaker
Um, and then I started doing it and then it was going somewhere. I was like, Oh, okay. Well, I guess I do this now. So cool. Here we are. Nice. And what was like, when you first posted to the leaderboards, what was your first time for Sonic R? Do you remember?
00:58:38
Speaker
I believe the first time I had ever, I could actually look that up right now, but I believe the first thing I had submitted was an IL. So that's an individual level. So because the game is split into five different levels, you could essentially do a level run. So I did one for Regal Rune, and those I believe are, that's like the third level. I believe those are separated by character.
00:59:02
Speaker
So, yeah, I have to double check how that leaderboard is, because it's been a while since I have checked that out. But yeah, I can actually if I go into my profile, I can actually see my obsolete runs, which is kind of dope. I don't remember exactly what that would have been, but show obsolete. There we go. There's a lot. Oh, there's a lot here.
00:59:33
Speaker
You know, it means you're dedicated to the craft. I guess it is. Yeah. It looks like the run. So that game is timed using the in-game timer. OK. So so loading screens and menuing doesn't particularly count overall in in the time that you submit. So it looks like my first run, which was three years ago.
01:00:01
Speaker
Yeah. Uh, that looks like that was a time of 13 minutes, 24 seconds and 70 milliseconds or. Wow. Yeah. I feel like that's, I almost feel like that's too short, but maybe I just, maybe I'm just crazy. I don't know. Maybe I don't know. Cause currently it looks like I am on the hundred percent, no out of bounds board. Uh, I am currently right 10th.
01:00:27
Speaker
Hey, top 10. Yeah. Yeah. I thought I had been booted. So all right. Cool. Neat. You're still there. All right. I'm still there. Yeah, I'm still there. Hanging in there. And it's a goose. Not a cat on the poster. It's a goose on the poster. Exactly. Yeah. There's no goose hanging by the neck or something. Oh, God. He's like, all right. I'm out.
01:00:51
Speaker
However, just because that was the time I submitted, that doesn't mean that was the first one I ever did. I would do a lot of things offline. I would do a lot of runs that I just felt like, hey, that wasn't great. I don't know if I want to submit this. It's so easy to look at speedrunning and be like, oh, wow, they just do this. No, they don't.
01:01:11
Speaker
They don't do that at all. It may take them five years before they get that particular video to happen. So. Oh, yeah. No, I've. Oh, yeah. As a guy who who started my Twitter journey, watching a lot of speed runner shows and Don and the toy and all of the Sonic speedrun community, because that's kind of where I if you listen to the early days of this podcast, those are like the those those people were the first guests that I got on the podcast.
01:01:41
Speaker
And nice. It's a huge thing of how what helped me expand now. It's crazy how much time practice and dedication you got to put into these games to absolutely get to that level. Absolutely. And I think that's that's something that I feel a lot of new speed runners really should take into consideration, because it's not going to be like you just go into it and it either happens or it doesn't. Like you're going to be working at that for a bit.
01:02:07
Speaker
and like right now I'm actually I'm learning a new game so I'm kind of in that in that boat again where it's like cool nothing's happening right now but
01:02:17
Speaker
It will in time. I'm doing Sonic 3 and Knuckles. Yeah, I'm learning Glitchless Knuckles right now because I want to start doing the Glitch Droughts, but I feel I should probably get a better understanding of how the level maps are. That was my first Sonic game ever, and also I love Knuckles, so it works.
01:02:41
Speaker
So moving through that, I've played hours and hours of that game, but I never studied it nearly as much as I did with Sonic R or anything like that. Because usually with a lot of those classic Sonic games, it's like, oh, OK, well, I'll just go this route every time and I'll make it through the game. You don't really branch off and explore sometimes unless
01:03:02
Speaker
unless it's something you feel like doing, but most of the time you're just like, all right, I got to get through level and get my points. So exactly. It's like, I'm just going to go left to right in the fastest way I possibly can by holding the right button. Yep. It's sometimes jumping, sometimes left, sometimes left if it requires you to go left. Yeah, exactly. That's how I played the 2D Sonic games. That's why I'm bad at them.
01:03:30
Speaker
They're, I'm already finding they are drastically different from like Sonic Adventure. The one thing that I need to drill into my head right now is so in the classic Sonic games, your max speed can only be achieved when you're in the running animation.
01:03:46
Speaker
So getting into a spin dash is bad because that will cause it to gradually decrease your speed. Whereas in classics, or I'm sorry, like the 3D Sonic Adventure or Sonic, you want to be a ball as much as possible because there is no speed cap on that. Well, there is a speed cap, but it's going to be significantly faster than Sonic on foot. So I have to be like, this game ball's good, this game ball's bad.
01:04:15
Speaker
One ball good, one ball bad. Exactly. The differences and the dimensions. Exactly, yeah. For real. So it'll probably take me a while to unlearn that, and I'm accepting that. So that's just got to be what I do moving forward. But I've been very, very thankful, a lot of my community, and even some of the people in the Sonic 3 and Knuckles, like Speed Red and Community, have poked their heads in, and they've been really awesome.
01:04:42
Speaker
and supportive and not mean. So I appreciate that. I'm always hesitant learning new ones because it's like, well, I'm going to suck. I'm probably going to embarrass myself, but at least now if I'm streaming this and practicing, I am creating a designated time space for me to do this.
01:05:01
Speaker
Because I have a full-time job. I can't. If you would like to pay me exclusively to speedrun Sonic 3 and Knuckles, you can do that. I will do that for you. We know Sega's putting on some Michael Jackson money.
01:05:14
Speaker
Exactly. They are. Probably. Was it a rumor that Michael Jackson produced the Sonic 3 soundtrack? I believe it was confirmed that he had a part in the soundtrack of Sonic 3.
01:05:34
Speaker
And a lot of some of his music was sampled in a lot of the tracks, particularly I guess the ones in question would be Carnival Night, Ice Cap, and Launch Base Zone, so like the last three levels there of Sonic 3 at least.
01:05:52
Speaker
But I believe the story was he did not like how the Genesis compressed sound. So he wasn't, he kind of like pulled himself out of that, but like they still kept the music and there was still, there's some legal thing with that. And I think they're just, they're believing that the Jackson estate would jump on them if they were to do anything with that. So that's why in the Origins game, they just completely swapped that music out, so.
01:06:21
Speaker
That makes sense. OK. OK. Yeah, because I always remember like there's something with Michael Jackson and Sonic three. Yep. That's that's the gist of it from what I can remember. All right. Well, moving away from the speed running side now to the goose side. What was the process in becoming a goose? So what made you decide to become a goose?
01:06:47
Speaker
So as I had been streaming more, I was always interested in Vtubing. I thought it was something that was really cool. I thought the art involved with that, the animation involved with that, and then the things that people were able to do streaming using Live2D models like that was always really, really cool to me. And I was very interested in that. So I had, I think, yeah, it was about a year and a half ago now. I had finally like,
01:07:16
Speaker
took the plunge and bought myself like an actual proper PC. A lot of my initial streaming took place on a really shitty HP Pavilion laptop, which I'm looking at across the room right now. To this day, I have no idea how the hell I managed to do anything on that. But I did GDQ with that. So it was a lot of just
01:07:47
Speaker
limiting CPU and things like that. Again, I have no idea. That computer hardly boots itself up anymore. I could do an entire podcast just on how the hell I worked on that computer. I'd be like, okay, I have to stream it in a half hour. I got to turn the computer on now, so that'll be ready.
01:08:09
Speaker
oh my god yeah i don't know how the hell i did it um but we don't those days are beyond us now so i don't have to worry about that knocking on wood because i have not had uh just not any uh major issues
01:08:26
Speaker
at the moment with this. But I digress. Moving to just Vtubing in general, after I had gotten that PC rig, I was like, well, I can do a lot more with my computer now. So as a result, I can stream at a higher output, I can
01:08:47
Speaker
uh use higher quality assets and that sort and i was just kind of like in the id mindset of like you know what i kind of need like a refresh not like a rebrand but more of like i want to redo my assets my overlays things like that so as i was searching instead of typically i used to do them myself and i was like i'm not like
01:09:07
Speaker
It was very basic to me, because I was just like, all right, cool. Banners, lines, cool. Graphic design is my passion. I kind of turned to Etsy, because I knew a lot of other streamers, friends of mine. They found a lot of really nice assets on Etsy, a lot of paid-to-use ones at affordable prices. And I was like, OK, cool.
01:09:30
Speaker
So moving through and looking around there, I had stumbled across, initially I had stumbled across a Gengar live TV model. And I love Gengar. He is my favorite Pokemon. He is my son. He is my son. If anyone asks me that, he is my son.
01:09:49
Speaker
Mother's Day happened. They said Happy Mother's Day. I'm like, thank you. And I showed him a picture of my son, Gengar. I'm so proud of him. He is. He's such a good boy. I'm so proud of him every day. He's just my fat purple son.
01:10:08
Speaker
So on a whim, I believe it was on sale, I bought it just to kind of play around with it. And VTube Studio, this is a free program that you can buy, quote unquote, on Steam. So I was like, well, let's see what I can do with this.
01:10:27
Speaker
I was playing around with it. I do use an iPhone already, so I had bought the licensing to use the iPhone camera for that. So for anyone who's concerned of like, oh, well, why an iPhone? So... iPhones have the best cameras and they are the best face trackers there are.
01:10:47
Speaker
they are and that I believe that is because initially I think for the Xbox connect that had it was that technology they had used like they were they had really good like face tracking and motion capturing and then Apple was like we're buying you
01:11:03
Speaker
and then it was over. And that was that. So you're saying if I have an old Xbox Kinect and I hotwire it a bit, I could pick up a Vtuber with the Xbox Kinect camera. Actually, because I believe I used to work at a game store and Kinects are like...
01:11:23
Speaker
These are like dollar bin things now which is bananas to me, but you can it's it's phenomenal what you can do with like a connect now like I had a friend in college, she had an entire 3d printing business where she used an Xbox connect to scan.
01:11:39
Speaker
individual people and she could 3d print figures. So she did custom cake toppers for weddings. She was doing like cosplay figures. I think yeah, she scanned me and my friend once and some of our cosplay is just just for a test. Even and we got a few of those and it was like, wow, holy. Wow. Holy shit. Yeah. And then a lot of like
01:12:03
Speaker
Arcade games, too, will use the Xbox Kinect camera. So Dance Rush Studio uses that. Dance Evolution, Dance Revolution, I think that's the one. Two of them uses a Kinect. What else uses a Kinect? Probably Dance Around. It's so funny. You're just like, cool, this Sega uses a Kinect.
01:12:27
Speaker
That's okay. That's great. Who knew right at this one piece of technology Which was very hit or miss because if it was a first party game, it was great But when it was a third party came it was like it was hot garbage The fact that the connected still use like well, that's yes. Hey, that's amazing It is it blows my mind every time. They're just like yeah, that's a connect in there. I'm like no fucking women
01:12:57
Speaker
So moving back at the game store, I remember there was just like one thing that came in. They were like, do you want this connect? I'm like, you know what? Yeah, sure. I'll fuck around with it. It's in a drawer or a box somewhere. I have not actually fucked around with it yet.
01:13:10
Speaker
But I remember saying I could probably mess around with this potentially for VTubing. But then as I was doing more research, I was learning, oh, well, the face tracking technology that's present in iPhones is going to be the most accurate for that. So I was like, well, I have this. So let's play around with it. And I was just blown away with what I could do.
01:13:37
Speaker
I like the ability to be more animated, if that makes sense. I feel like I can do more and just kind of convey more of a personality with it than if I were doing face camming, which I'll still occasionally, if we're doing rhythm game streams, I have no problem showing my face once in a while because
01:14:01
Speaker
I cosplay as well. So it's like people have seen my face. I'm not going to be like in the dark about that. Like my face is on the Internet. You can find me. You mean she's not a goose? My immersive goose-tuber is not a real talking goose. Unbelievable.
01:14:21
Speaker
Unsubscribing. Unsubscribing. Reporting. Reporting for lies. For scandals. Yeah, slander. Yeah. So just messing around with that, I had fun. I actually had found another goose model. It had a really long neck, I remember. And it was cute, but it just didn't have as much expression in it that I wanted.
01:14:49
Speaker
So then, you know, shopping around from, that was just on Etsy. As I moved forward, I would eventually uncover,
01:14:58
Speaker
Pixiv's booth, which is a Japanese website, which is essentially, it's kind of like Japanese Etsy, but like a little bit more art focused. So a lot of folks would put either commissions or live 2D art assets and things like that over there. And then get ready, this is going to be the hot tea today.
01:15:21
Speaker
I found a duck model. So the tracking on that I was incredibly impressed with. It had a lot of
01:15:32
Speaker
fun little toggles there's like there's like a bow tie there were some extra hair uh little pieces that you could add as well as like a hoodie and and headphones and i thought that was absolutely adorable um the beak it's it's when i smiled like the the character smiled as well and i thought that was really neat and then it had like um
01:15:57
Speaker
like a sweating emotion toggle it had. It has the eyebrows that I love using, like every stream. Because it just needs just like home improvement noise. And then eyebrows. It's fun. And I was just able to do a lot more with that. And I was just very happy about that. But it wouldn't be until like months after actually having that that I would start using that exclusively. Like I still did.
01:16:24
Speaker
face stuff up until probably like August or September of last year. That's when I started doing, you know, the the goose slash duck. Yeah, exactly. And and we kind of just worked with that. And like, my community was really awesome. And they kind of like they were like, All right, yeah, cool. No, that's great. And they all seem to be really into it. And I've been able to incorporate different like ways for
01:16:52
Speaker
chat to interact with the model as well. So I use Twitch integrated throwing system, AKA tits. So if you spend channel points or donate certain amount of bits, you can throw stuff at my face. And it's fun. That's very fun. So
01:17:13
Speaker
Things like that. I've been working with the Mix It Up desktop bot that allows you to do toggleable overlays and it'll interact with other programs such as vTube Studio. So I could have a command set that would
01:17:34
Speaker
turn a hotkey on, which would interact with my model for a certain amount of time. So they can give me headpats or put sticky notes on me or change parts of my model, which I think is really neat. So it really was able to open a lot of doors for a lot more.
01:17:52
Speaker
streamer viewer interaction that I was really, really, really into. So that's cool. That's really, really cool. So what tips would you recommend for those who want to get into the tubing themselves?
01:18:07
Speaker
Just mess around with it. See, download VTube Studio, download VC face, whatever type of model you're looking into grabbing. There's 2D models, there's 3D models. What do you think you want to do? What feels right? What can your computer handle? Do you have the right assets to do what you know you want to do? Things like that. So just literally take five minutes.
01:18:34
Speaker
goof around with the program. There's a ton of free models to use. There's some inexpensive pay to use models that you can use to get started. It does not have to be expensive. It does not have to be expensive. Because if you also look at other websites and artists and people who do the animation rigging process, it's like, I can buy a car or I can buy a Live2D model.
01:19:05
Speaker
if that's something you wanna do later, that's cool. But no, initially it does not have to be expensive. So try it out, see if it's something you like.
01:19:17
Speaker
Does it feel right for you? Does it allow you to do more like that you want to do? Is it getting across what you want to do? Because there's another option where it's like, okay, if you don't want to be a face cam person, but you don't necessarily have the time, resources, or money to do like actual animated a live 2D model or a 3D model, you could even just do a well-drawn PNG or something like that.
01:19:45
Speaker
You may also see the term like pngtuber floating around, which is basically an image set to either there is a designated program for it, or most people will choose like the Fuji tech discord reaction images, which are really nice. So there, there are a ton of different routes you can go with it. So definitely, definitely like just
01:20:08
Speaker
Yeah, poke around, see what you like, see what you want to do with it. And if it sticks and it does well for you, then keep going. Keep going. Yeah. And lastly, Risu, on the streaming side of things, what advice would you give for people who want to start streaming? Oh, gosh. What advice would you give on that side of things?
01:20:31
Speaker
Yeah, it's it's always going to be tough. Like it is a huge I guess market. I don't know if I want to say market necessarily because I know people who stream for fun and I know people who stream and that's that's a form of income for them. So again, it's like try it out. See if it's something that you want to do. If it is the biggest piece of advice I can give for people who are looking to kind of go somewhere with it is to have something
01:21:00
Speaker
stay consistent as far as your streaming schedule goes. So I understand like
01:21:06
Speaker
life exists, life happens. So you can't always stream every day at a certain amount of time or something. But if you can at least pick one day where everyone else would be able to guarantee that you will be live, that's going to help you so much more than if you just randomly start streaming. Because it'll be like, oh, well, dudebro47 is streaming Sundays at noon.
01:21:33
Speaker
Cool, it's noon on Sunday. Maybe I'll go see Dude Bro streaming. Awesome, cool, I'll watch. So that really, I think that really helps. I truly believe in consistency over shiny assets or shows at the matter. You could be doing something super awesome, but if no one knows when that's gonna happen, it's not really gonna go far.
01:22:03
Speaker
Oh, if that makes sense. Yeah, no, absolutely. I got one more question for you. This is more or less related to a game you're playing on stream.

Yakuza Series Discussion and Challenges

01:22:13
Speaker
Yeah. How is Yakuza of the Dead going? Yakuza Dead Souls. How is that going? Oh, geez. So I joke about that. I love the Yakuza series. That is fantastic.
01:22:23
Speaker
that is one of my favorite game series like hands down I love the storytelling I really like the gameplay the characters are wonderful like I say this genuinely like
01:22:35
Speaker
It is a very, very good series. If you are only seeing it based on the memes, you are missing an entire core portion of what makes those games super special. So don't go into it thinking it's a ha ha silly game. You will probably start crying in one of them. I have cried. Yeah, same, same. Get ready, because it's not going to be. It's not funny spank people with a fan game. No, you will.
01:23:01
Speaker
you will probably ball. So, please be ready for that. I have the emotional moments and the pain that Bajong has placed on you. Yes, it's, yeah, exactly.
01:23:14
Speaker
And then that's that's where it all converges. I see now. So we got we got you got your Venn diagram. You have Final Fantasy 14 on one end. You've got Yakuza on the other end. Right in the middle. You have Majang. Yeah, it is. That's where it is. I don't know which one's worse. Honestly, I'm still going to say the Yakuza one's worse because at least you can do the Majang ones with your friends and that everyone's in pain.
01:23:36
Speaker
That's true, but you can cheat in Yakuza. You can get those cheating items. Yeah, it's some of them. It's some of them that don't give you cheating items at all. You win. I don't think there are any cheating items in Gaiden and you still have to do Maja. I think there may have been, but if you tried to use them to fulfill sub-story requests, it wouldn't count, which sucked.
01:23:57
Speaker
yeah so it's like well cool looks like a backup by mahjong bullshit guys mahjong streamer 24 7 let's go
01:24:13
Speaker
Uh, but Yakuza dead souls. So this was a spin-off game that I believe released in Japan, either like 2000, I think it was like 2012 or something. Um, could not, well, I mean, timeline wise immediately. I was immediately after Yakuza four. So ultimate timeline, we're usually, we're usually go to doesn't die.
01:24:35
Speaker
Okay, he didn't we didn't see it happen on screen so I I will fully Stand by the fact that unless it happens on screen. They are not truly dead. They go to a grave They go to a grave Who knows maybe it's a fake one? You can just buy a tombstone, I mean, yeah, I mean kashiwagi fucking yeah, they did that with kashiwagi
01:24:59
Speaker
Yeah. OK, I'm going to say this. And this is spoilers. I didn't realize in the first get like a dragon that the bartender was Kashi Wagi until Infinite Wealth.
01:25:10
Speaker
I never fucking realized that. It never hit you. It never hit me because he looks so much older and like yeah the scar but like I thought nothing of it. It just went right over your head. It just went right over me and then it's like you're just looking at him and it's like oh my god it's kashiwagi and everything and I was an emotional wreck for the rest of that day. And then and then home improvement noise and then. Yeah yeah yeah.
01:25:36
Speaker
Yeah, yeah, that's that's been a surprise that Andre Richardson survived a fall off of the Millennium Tower. Oh, my gosh, his brief aside with that one. So I was also an active player of the Yakuza online mobile game. And Andre Richardson has his own story in that one where he is still alive. And he I forget exactly like what the story was. But as I was trying to like go through it, it was funny because
01:26:05
Speaker
because he is not Japanese. Yeah. All of his dialogue was written in Katakana, which is typically it's used for it's used for brands like Coca Cola, Pepsi. Yes, it's technically for for onomatopoeias or like borrowed words.
01:26:23
Speaker
So words that aren't explicitly like a Japanese word, but it's borrowed. So yeah, Coca-Cola or Kodak, Polaroid, things like that. All of his dialogue is written in Katakana, which is to indicate that it's kind of broken and robotic.
01:26:41
Speaker
in a lot of Japanese games where you have like robots as well, they will sometimes have all their text displayed in Katakana to emphasize that it is, it is like heavier and it's like chunked out a bit more. So during that time, I was, I was reading and starting to learn a bit of those alphabets. So I was able to read a lot of it. And I think there was some part where he like got goofed up with like a hostess or something. And it was weird. Yeah, it was weird.
01:27:10
Speaker
But yeah, that's a fun game. That had a lot of really neat story aspects there. And then, yeah, so that's a good spin-off. But back to Dead Souls. Yeah, I joke. I love everything about the game except for playing it.
01:27:33
Speaker
I love everything except for playing it, because it is, I love the story, I love the characters, I think the sub stories are neat, hate playing it. It just gets progressive, it starts out great, and it just progressively gets worse and worse as you go through, and I will, if that has to be my new hot take, that's gonna be my hot take now, because it's, it literally, like, it makes the PS3 chug.
01:28:02
Speaker
Like you'll be watching like, is your stream okay? I'm like, yeah, it's fine. I'm dropping frames because of the game. Like the game is causing me to drop frames. Because their idea of a difficulty spike is not adding stronger enemies, it's adding more enemies.
01:28:21
Speaker
They're like, oh, well, we'll just put 500 zombies on the screen. That should be hard for you, right? And it's like, my PS3 is crying. It is on fire right now. And I do believe, I believe this was confirmed by Yakuza speed runner, Frub. If you do a set of specific things in Dead Souls, it can legitimately brick your PlayStation 3.
01:28:51
Speaker
Oh my god. Yes. You can brick your PS3 through Yakuza Dead Souls. Wow. I've been very lucky with this playthrough, at least on stream, but when I was casually playing it, it crashed at least two or three times on me. It is not stable.
01:29:13
Speaker
It is not stable I do believe you can still access I would highly if you if you are interested in this it's I Don't want to say it's worth playing but if you want to watch someone else do it Do that, but um if you really really want to experience it
01:29:30
Speaker
I think the PS3 store is still active. You have to do it through the console itself, however. But a digital copy, I think, is $20, which is significantly more acceptable than a physical copy, which is now at, like, 90-something dollars. Oh, yeah, hell yeah. We love seeing old games worth the same amount of money as new games.
01:29:54
Speaker
Yeah, I have my receipt right here from when I bought actually because I'm mostly because I'm lazy and I don't want to like necessarily get rid of receipts for like used games that I buy. Yeah, but I when did I buy this? Was there a date on this? September 6th of 2017. Oh, okay. I paid $9 for this. Oh, hell yeah.
01:30:16
Speaker
I paid $9 for this, which is still too much considering this was straight up in dollar bins at GameStop. GameStop would essentially pay you to get rid of the game. That's how bad this thing sold. So it's phenomenal. The thing, this is the game that spawned a mini game in judgment and lost judgment.
01:30:42
Speaker
Those were cool. Those were cool. Yeah. They basically, they basically took the house. I think it was like the house of the dead engine. They just threw in the old models from dead souls and it was like, Oh, okay. Yeah. That's okay. Yeah. It's good. Good job. RGG. Hell yeah.
01:30:58
Speaker
Yeah, so I always I always tell people it is my favorite game to not play because I hate playing it valid. Maybe one day I'll play it. I'm hoping you see I'm still an optimist as like, hey, maybe one day they'll they'll they'll do the HD treatment, maybe with a few other things. So that way, you know, it doesn't break your console and put it, you know, and do what they do with the three, four and five and do it like that.
01:31:23
Speaker
And because it's for the sounds of it, they're going to do like an Eastern treatment or you want me an Eastern treatment to Kenzen, the other samurai game, maybe hope. I saw a tweet about it. That's like, hey, if it gets enough love, we'll probably like do it. Do like a thing for it. And like definitely. Yeah. So Kenzon is is.
01:31:52
Speaker
tricky because the era if I recall correctly the era that that takes place in there's a lot of mention of like um
01:32:03
Speaker
child prostitution so much. So if it happens, if it does get remade, I'm not very optimistic that a localization may happen unless they completely revise a lot of it. I mean, hey, they may cure you a trans ally. I think they can do it. He always has been. He always has been. But they're like, that's kind of icky. He wouldn't say that now. So now that we know what he's like, yeah.
01:32:32
Speaker
So yeah, I don't know if that's worth it, but as far as Dead Souls goes, the other thing that's wild, so how it happened in Japan, you had Yakuza Dead Souls and then Ryugotoku Studios released Binary Domain, which is, that is also an interesting game. So everything that was bad in Dead Souls
01:32:55
Speaker
They essentially fixed in binary domain. So that's great. However, in the United States, binary domain came out before dead souls. Oh.
01:33:06
Speaker
So people were like, oh, this was awesome. This game should be even better. What the fuck? So yeah. So if they ever want to revisit something like Dead Souls, I personally think that they should just start fresh, make a new story, put Ichiban and the gang in, make something else out of it. Because I think they are significantly better at branching out into different genres of games. I think they could make a real solid shooter now.
01:33:35
Speaker
um especially with the resources they have and the staff that they have and the characters that they have now i think they really could do it they could make it co-op like do you know flipping rad that would be like that'd be so cool that would be cool me and my friends and cover rocho beating up the zombies yeah exactly yeah so
01:33:53
Speaker
That's where I would like for that to go. If they ever wanted to redo that, I hope that's where they would go with that. Awesome. Well, is there anything else you would like to add about streaming, VTubing, or Yakuza before we head on into the bonus level? Oh, God, I shouldn't, because if I do, we'll be here for... I will be the entire Season 8 for you, so...

Gaming History and Anniversaries

01:34:17
Speaker
Fair enough.
01:34:19
Speaker
With that, then it's time for us to start to close things out and head on into the bonus level. Crazy lists, great deals, and recapping gaming history. It's all here in the bonus level. And to kick it off, we have this week in gaming history. Here's what happened in the past from June 13th to 16th, starting off with some major events on June 6th in 2006.
01:34:43
Speaker
The Entertainment Software Association files a lawsuit against the state of Minnesota in the Minnesota Federal District Court to overturn a new bill that would fine children and teens for buying or renting mature or adults only games. Wow.
01:35:01
Speaker
Yeah. June 7th, 2004, Nintendo released the Game Boy Advance SP in classic NES controller style colors in the U.S. The price was about $100. June 8th, 2009, Nintendo released the Wii Motion Plus attachment for the Nintendo Wii controller, giving more precise motion controls and also in turn spawned the greatest Wii Sports game ever made, Wii Sports Resort.
01:35:31
Speaker
chef's kiss to the sports resort. It is the best one. And June 11th, 2001, Nintendo launched the Game Boy Advance in the U.S. It was three, about three, three by five inches long to double a batteries that powered the system. And you got about 15 hours per battery life.
01:35:55
Speaker
Which was before my time in handheld gaming, because my first handheld console was the DS. Oh, wow. Yeah, I could have had a Game Boy, but I just never did. Hmm. In game birthdays, starting off on June 7th, Sonic Advanced 3 and the Legend of Zelda 4 Swords Adventure both turned 20.
01:36:20
Speaker
Oh wow. On June 8th, Green Day Rock Band turns 14, which I love that like Rock Band had a lot of these like expansions for like very specific bands or genres. Like there was a Rock Band country.
01:36:37
Speaker
Yes. ACDC. ACDC. The Beatles won, but that was like its whole... That was its own game. But like, very fun to see that there was a whole whack of those that came out. June 9th, Grand Theft Auto San Andreas turns 19 years old.
01:36:58
Speaker
That's wild. We're still playing it. We're still playing it too, yeah. June 10th, Street Fighter II Championship Edition turns 32 years old. Happy birthday, Street Fighter II Championship Edition. June 11th, both Super Mario advanced in F-Zero, maximum velocity both turn 23.
01:37:24
Speaker
Uh, June 12th, Mellow Gear solid four guns of the Patriots turns 16. And June 14th, Duke, new come forever. The beautiful piece of garbage game that it is, uh, turns 13.
01:37:46
Speaker
Because that's a story. Duke Duke forever. I got I bargained into that game. So be like, oh, it can't be that bad. It was a 360 PS three one, right? Yeah, I have that. Yeah, it was the yard sale. I it's the only game that I never really finished. That was like a garbage. I finished my garbage games. I could not finish that one. It was a lot.
01:38:12
Speaker
Two garbage, moving on to top five. Reeseru, it's a really easy one because there are only five. The top five Sonic R tracks.
01:38:22
Speaker
Okay, I was looking ahead and now I have my sound track pulled up. Okay, okay, starting with five. I'll go Living in the City, Radical City, Radical City, Radical, yeah. Four, I will go with Work It Out. Three, Can You Feel the Sunshine?
01:38:50
Speaker
four supersonic racing, five diamond in the sky.
01:38:56
Speaker
I went backwards Number one diamond in the sky to supersonic racing. Can you feel the sunshine third? All right, perfect excellent credible we now go on to head-to-head two games enter one game leave And I figured we might as well grab your two biases of geese and sonic and we are putting untitled goose game against Sonic Adventure and
01:39:23
Speaker
Oh, this is so mean. This is so mean. I think I would actually have to I'm going to have to stay with Sonic Adventure here just because it it's a bit of a longer game that I can do with more. I do love the goose, though. It's a very charming game. If you have yet to pick that up, it goes on sale pretty often. It's on multiple consoles. So please pick up goose game. Try it out. It's very, very good. Also has a dedicated honk button.
01:39:52
Speaker
It sure does. And co-op and co-op. Yeah. I remember when they announced the trailer for Co-op for Goosky. That was great. And it's just cute. It's cute. It really is. It really is. Sonic Adventure has Knuckles, so he doesn't chuckle. We now move on to Tony's game poll, our season poll for season eight. If King of Hearts 4 was at a Disney Pixar world, what world would you add into the game?
01:40:20
Speaker
Something Muppet related. Ooh, that's a good one. I think I don't know Muppet theater or something. Just could you imagine like just Muppet Sora, you know, that was funny. That would be I think it would be Sora goes it normal. But Donald and everyone else is a Muppet. Yeah.
01:40:39
Speaker
It would be like that. That would that would be funny. That would be incredible. That would be hilarious. Yeah. And like it would be a good like graphic challenge for them, too, just because of like the textures and stuff that are on a lot of the muppets. Like you could do like a felt texture for Kerman and you've got like the forever Fauzi and things like that. Like it would be a really a really good one for them to use kind of like as a as a graphics check or visual check. Where's my scotch?
01:41:06
Speaker
Exactly and then it's freaking what is it? Over in Stafford or whatever it could be like guys like do you know funny that would be oh my god They could do a lot with that and then make Kermit a summon or something I don't know
01:41:26
Speaker
I miss piggy as a someone would probably be it would be yeah, you know It would be miss piggy because you summon her and it's or or gonzo and you shoot him out of the rocket. Oh There's so much you could do and it all would be it would all make sense That's it. That's the best answer now. That is the best answer
01:41:47
Speaker
Yeah, I love that our deals of the week this week epic free game is chivalry 2 until June 6 be sure to pick that uh action slash Sure type game, but PvP you can cut off people's limbs. It's funny. It's great
01:42:04
Speaker
Chivalry. Yeah, Chivalry. Steam's cozy and family-friendly game celebration is also on until June 6th. You can pick up a bunch of cozy and family-friendly games at a discounted price. Steam also has the Monster Hunter franchise sale until June 12th, and PlayStation has its days of play on now until June 12th as well.
01:42:26
Speaker
Uh, the achievement of the week is instead of a saga, Hellblade 2, it's seeing things differently, which is to launch any chapter with an alternate narrator. And the game of the week, I'm giving it to Shin Megami Tensei 5, Vengeance, because who doesn't want to say fuck you to a demon and then they join your team. Uh, and Risu, if there is any game, old or new, that you would recommend to our audience, what game would it be?

Social Media and Farewell

01:42:54
Speaker
I was recently reminded of Deadly Premonition. I'm not sure if you're familiar with this series.
01:43:03
Speaker
Is that the one that was on the GameCube or I think it's something else? So this was essentially Twin Peaks, the video game. Oh. This was a game by Sweery65. It's essentially still Twin Peaks, the video game, but they had to change a bunch of stuff during like the initial start of it. But it is kind of hot garbage, but then the story unfolds and you're like, what is this?
01:43:31
Speaker
So you play as FBI special agent Francis York Morgan and you have entered a town of Greenvale, which is a small little town where a murder has taken place. Yeah, and you have to investigate, you know, what caused this.
01:43:47
Speaker
what what what did this and the only clue that you really have is a packet of these red seeds that seem to like alter people's uh perceptions of reality and then things like that it gets really really psychological and stuff but it um it and it's it's sequel um
01:44:05
Speaker
are very special to me. They are very silly, but they get really deep. So if you're interested in something a little bit out there, give Deadly Premonition a shot. All right.
