00:02:36
The SnowJobs Podcast
18 miles. Wow. 18 miles of dirt road.
00:02:40
RICK JAMES
That's nothing.
00:02:42
The SnowJobs Podcast
That's out here. That's crazy. Yeah.
00:02:44
RICK JAMES
haven That's not even a ah very โ yeah, that's not much. Yeah, it was a good run.
00:02:49
The SnowJobs Podcast
we don't we don't have any We don't have any frontier here anymore. It's all asphalt jungle here.
00:02:53
RICK JAMES
that That's too bad. You're missing out.
00:02:57
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yeah, I bet.
00:02:57
RICK JAMES
You get to see all that pretty country and all that. Yeah, you just you don't understand. you don't get it.
00:03:02
The SnowJobs Podcast
Those were some pretty pictures there. You were ah you were you were getting like nostalgic
Preview of Winter Product Discussions
00:03:06
The SnowJobs Podcast
or something. You were posting some nature shots and all sorts of.
00:03:09
RICK JAMES
Oh, you do that, yeah, I do that every fall, especially when in the combine and stuff.
00:03:12
RICK JAMES
You get some nice sunsets out here and stuff. yeah you gotta You gotta show that stuff off, so.
00:03:15
The SnowJobs Podcast
yeah Yeah, you get a deer once in a while going through the combine.
00:03:20
RICK JAMES
Hey, that's why I let, well, on Ben's truck, he on Helicopter Ben's truck, he's got the cattle guard on, sorry so I said, you're driving and ahead of us in case you hit a deer, and we're coming right behind you, so.
00:03:22
The SnowJobs Podcast
yeah
00:03:29
The SnowJobs Podcast
There you go. No all gas, no brakes.
00:03:33
RICK JAMES
Yeah, that's pretty much what we did, yep.
00:03:34
The SnowJobs Podcast
but Nice. Oh, that's good, man. Yeah, it was ah it was a long week, but it's a good week. I am ah recording in an undisclosed location, so I am going to relax for a couple days and then get right back at it on Monday.
00:03:50
The SnowJobs Podcast
I do not have the holiday Monday, so I'll be right back to work on Monday.
00:03:54
The SnowJobs Podcast
And then Tuesday starts. I got two meetings on Tuesday for snow, so get it going.
00:04:01
The SnowJobs Podcast
It's that time, man, September.
00:04:04
RICK JAMES
Yeah. What jail are you in tonight?
00:04:06
The SnowJobs Podcast
yes ah I feel like it sometimes, but no, i'm ah I'm chilling. I'm up at the lake. I'm finally going to get a couple days of relaxation here. and you know Not too much relaxation because I do have the family here.
00:04:22
The SnowJobs Podcast
So I'll be chasing them around.
00:04:25
The SnowJobs Podcast
But it's good. Going to do some some bee removal tonight when they're all sleeping. But other than that, get stung a bunch of times. And we'll get back at it on Monday there. But, yeah, that's it,
Industry Events and Networking Opportunities
00:04:36
The SnowJobs Podcast
buddy. So what are we doing tonight, man? We're going to talk about some new products that everybody's seen out there and what guys are excited to use and put into their fleets for this winter.
00:04:46
The SnowJobs Podcast
There's a bunch of new stuff out there, and we got a couple really good dudes tonight to help us do this, and we're very curious to see what they're looking at and what they're going to put into their fleets this year.
00:04:58
The SnowJobs Podcast
um So to help us do tonight, welcome back Mike Sanalicito, ODP crowd favorite. And we also have Top Dog Todd of Top Dog Services, another crowd favorite. Everybody was asking for Todd again.
00:05:12
The SnowJobs Podcast
Apparently, snow guys all โ it makes sense. They're all like us. They all want to hear guys that just have no filter and say whatever is on their mind with, you know, no regard for hurt feelings. I love it. so
00:05:25
RICK JAMES
I love it. Yeah, that's the best.
00:05:27
RICK JAMES
That's the best.
00:05:28
The SnowJobs Podcast
That's it. That's how we do it, and that's how Todd does it. So a lot of guys are asking to have Todd back on something. So we're going make that happen tonight. But before we dive into this with the guys, ah we're going to, as always, hear from Team Top Gun.
00:05:41
The SnowJobs Podcast
Come back and do a quick week review.
00:06:15
The SnowJobs Podcast
all right, boys and girls, we're back. So quick week in review. Got a couple of announcements of some shows still to come for this fall for everybody. As we've been saying, in August 27th, Ohio Landscapers Association, they're having their annual snow and ice clinic.
00:06:28
The SnowJobs Podcast
That's going to be at St. Michael's Woodside out in Broadview Heights, Ohio. So if you're interested in that, Go to the OLA page and check it out. Wednesday, September 17th, Storks is doing their fall thing. They do a big spring thing.
00:06:42
The SnowJobs Podcast
In the last couple of years, they've done a big fall thing too. So Storks, Flows, and Leesburg, Pennsylvania, they're going be doing their Plow Tech School. That's to train guys how to fix your own Douglas Dynamics plows and spreaders.
00:06:56
The SnowJobs Podcast
So you have Western, Fisher, Snowex,
00:06:59
The SnowJobs Podcast
That is an outstanding class. It's $125 for the day. You register at storksplows.com. And again, this is basically teaching you how to fix your own issues should they arise with those those brand spreaders and plows. So that's absolutely awesome that they're basically you know taking the time to teach guys how to help themselves without you know having to rely on the dealer at all times.
00:07:22
The SnowJobs Podcast
So supposedly the guys that did it last year loved it. They said it was well worth it. I think it's limited to 50, and I think they're down to 30 spots left the last time I checked. So if you're interested in doing that on Wednesday, September 17th, make sure you go register at StorksPlows.com.
00:07:39
The SnowJobs Podcast
And if you're at Storks on the 17th, you may as well join us on Thursday, September 18th for the S&S Snow and Ice Day. ah That's at S&S's location in Taylor, Pennsylvania.
00:07:51
The SnowJobs Podcast
It's about, what is an hour? Was it an hour from the casino to โ so, yeah, they're they're like five minutes from the casino, which is Taylor, and then I think it took us about an hour to get to Storks from the casino last year, right?
00:07:56
RICK JAMES
Oh, yeah. I think that's what it was last year, roughly.
00:08:07
RICK JAMES
Yeah. Well, that was you driving, too, so.
00:08:07
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yeah. Well, yeah, you know, mountain roads, wet, wind.
00:08:12
RICK JAMES
It was curves. There were some curves. There were some curves and stuff.
00:08:15
The SnowJobs Podcast
that Yeah, okay, Mr. Curves. You barely negotiated the one. And where what where were we, Pittsburgh? or was that in No, that was Storks this year.
00:08:24
RICK JAMES
don't remember. What are talking about?
00:08:25
The SnowJobs Podcast
You took the off-ramp a little quick. like
Community Engagement and Store Updates
00:08:27
The SnowJobs Podcast
oh oh who Whoa, whoa, whoa.
00:08:28
RICK JAMES
No, you got to take the off-arms quick. That's what they're for.
00:08:33
The SnowJobs Podcast
But yeah, that is S&S's Snow Ice Day. That is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. I hear it's going to feature a couple panel discussions on various snow topics. It was supposed to feature Jordan Smith speaking, but he is unable to attend due to a previous engagement.
00:08:51
The SnowJobs Podcast
or scheduling conflict. So they're going to do a couple of panel discussions with snow guys, which should be very good. I think one of them will be liquids based and the other one will be actual snow topics. So that's 9am to 4pm.
00:09:02
The SnowJobs Podcast
You can register on SNS's Instagram. We, we got the flyer on our Instagram. So you scan the QR code and you, uh, You get it done.
00:09:13
The SnowJobs Podcast
And after that, at 5 p.m. at S&S, 5 to 8 is their after-hours networking event that was absolutely off the hook last year. That was top shelf. Did you like it, Jay, last year?
00:09:27
RICK JAMES
Yeah, that was
00:09:28
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yep. Yes, there is a casino. There is a casino right by S&S, five minutes away, Mohegan, Pennsylvania.
00:09:35
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yeah.
00:09:36
RICK JAMES
Yeah, that was that was good.
00:09:38
The SnowJobs Podcast
um Yeah, no, that that was top shelf. Tony says the same cat the same amazing caterer is back this year. So if you're coming, you're definitely going to want to stay for the after-hours event. It was really cool.
00:09:49
The SnowJobs Podcast
um Just great, great time talking to snow guys for hours on end. It never got โ it didn't get old, and I think what at 9 o'clock, I think they said it was until 8, and I think we were still kicking around at 8.30, 9 o'clock before guys actually started leaving. So Tony didn't throw anybody out.
00:10:05
The SnowJobs Podcast
He was nice enough to โ
00:10:06
RICK JAMES
Yeah, that was good.
00:10:07
The SnowJobs Podcast
Say, yeah, no, we're good.
00:10:07
RICK JAMES
It was a beautiful day.
00:10:09
The SnowJobs Podcast
It was a beautiful day.
00:10:11
The SnowJobs Podcast
So, yeah, we'll see you there if you're going. Jeremy is booked. He is coming. So, ah flight's booked. Hotels are booked. So, that we will definitely be at S&S. And I am going to be at Storks the day before for Plow Tech.
00:10:24
The SnowJobs Podcast
That is definitely something I'm going to do. And I'm going to try and take maybe one of my guys or two of my guys with me. Because that's extremely valuable to not have to worry about a dealer that's not open overnight anyway if it's snowing.
00:10:35
The SnowJobs Podcast
So in my area anyway.
00:10:36
RICK JAMES
Gotcha. Mm-hmm.
00:10:37
The SnowJobs Podcast
I wish Storks was around the corner, but they're not. But anyway, that is it for the events, guys. All right. So if you're still ramping up for the winter and you're local in the northeast there, Leesburg, Pennsylvania, and then Taylor, Pennsylvania the next day.
00:10:51
The SnowJobs Podcast
You get hit both of them. Keep hitting Apple Podcasts and Spotify. Drop us reviews. Like, subscribe. Do all the du all that stuff. that It helps us immensely to keep doing what we're doing.

Innovations in Snow Fleet Technology
00:11:18
The SnowJobs Podcast
ah Snow Jobs Nation store is stocked and ready for your orders. We have Carhartts ahead of the Carhartt shortage that is coming this winter. All right. The Carhartt shortage is real. It's coming.
00:11:29
The SnowJobs Podcast
Get them now. Get them out of Jeremy's office.
00:11:30
RICK JAMES
Yes. All long sleeve sort of is coming.
00:11:34
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yes. Oh, man. But he's all stocked up. He's ready to go. So get your stuff. Get your long sleeve stuff before it gets cold enough to need it. Anything else, Jay? Did I miss anything?
00:11:46
RICK JAMES
think we got her.
00:11:47
The SnowJobs Podcast
All right. Then as always, guys, let's hear from our partners real quick and we'll be back and get with the boys.
00:12:56
The SnowJobs Podcast
All right, gang, we're back. So let's welcome in the boys and get this going. Mike and Todd, how are we, boys? What's new?
00:13:06
Todd Dickerson
What's up, gentlemen?
00:13:06
Mike ODP
Nothing much, how are you guys doing?
00:13:08
The SnowJobs Podcast
We're doing good, man. Good to see you guys again.
00:13:12
RICK JAMES
Yeah, been a while.
00:13:12
Todd Dickerson
Anytime I hear a casino, I get a little excited.
00:13:14
RICK JAMES
sitting there.
00:13:15
Todd Dickerson
So you got me.
00:13:19
The SnowJobs Podcast
we just got to see Todd out Storm Day.
00:13:21
The SnowJobs Podcast
That was cool. We missed Mike, though.
00:13:24
Mike ODP
Yeah, my travel budget's a little blown this year. That's all right.
00:13:27
The SnowJobs Podcast
all good.
00:13:28
Mike ODP
I'm already planning for next year.
00:13:29
The SnowJobs Podcast
All good, brother. All good. But yeah, that's ah thanks for coming on. And we're we're excited to talk about some new products that are out there and get your guys' take, what you guys are looking at, what you you know what you've heard out there, and see if you're adding anything new to your fleets this year.
00:13:45
The SnowJobs Podcast
So anybody who wants to start us off, we'll get right into it.
00:13:50
Todd Dickerson
Go ahead, Mickey, I'm um'm boring.
00:13:52
The SnowJobs Podcast
Go ahead, Todd.
00:13:53
Mike ODP
Boring, buddy, you got the coolest fleet in the snow game.
00:13:53
The SnowJobs Podcast
Take us away, buddy.
00:13:57
Todd Dickerson
No chance, no chance.
00:13:57
RICK JAMES
Yeah. Oh, yeah. yeah
00:13:59
Todd Dickerson
I hear you.
00:14:00
The SnowJobs Podcast
I'll take one of those multifunctionals. That'll double do a lot.
00:14:03
Todd Dickerson
I hear you.
00:14:03
Mike ODP
I just want to ride one just like a little kid in a fire truck. I just want to ride one.
00:14:06
RICK JAMES
I want to run one so bad. I got run one. I'm going to run one this year.
00:14:09
Mike ODP
Does it crab walk?
00:14:10
Todd Dickerson
hunt ah they do crab actually. So the, the runway blowers are the cool thing that crabs. I mean, I can get those into a, you regular parking space, parallel park it.
00:14:22
Todd Dickerson
No question. So um I mean, first of all, you know, these, these regional shows or whatever you want to call them, like storks and, you storm.
00:14:31
The SnowJobs Podcast
Mm-hmm.
00:14:32
Todd Dickerson
I mean, tried years ago to get little things like that set up and, you know, I guess the old the old school guys weren't really into the the great ideas like we're doing now.
00:14:45
Todd Dickerson
So, you know, Jeremy and and Steve, I just want to say thank you because, like, you guys are killing it with this thing. And, like, i I kill my long drives to the beach or to wherever, you know.
00:14:56
Todd Dickerson
I mean, I've probably listened to some of these podcasts three or four different times, you know, over and over.
00:15:00
The SnowJobs Podcast
Nice.
00:15:01
RICK JAMES
Oh, thank you.
00:15:01
Todd Dickerson
So, like โ Dude, you guys are killing it. So thank you for everything you do for the industry and these little regional and I call them little. I don't mean it that way. But these are these boutique um regional events are or bad.
00:15:15
The SnowJobs Podcast
like that. Boutique. It's bougie.
00:15:17
The SnowJobs Podcast
It sounds bougie.
00:15:18
RICK JAMES
Who's right on my alley?
00:15:18
Todd Dickerson
ah You know, I'm trying to sound a little bougie instead of redneck. So, yeah.
00:15:19
The SnowJobs Podcast
There you go.
00:15:23
Mike ODP
Hey, you're not wrong.
00:15:26
Todd Dickerson
But I mean, they're cool, man.
00:15:28
Todd Dickerson
And they're small enough, but big enough where but you're making awesome relationships. And like, you know Steve, I've reached out to you couple times trying to get you know different contacts that I wasn't able to get at the the different shows.
00:15:43
Todd Dickerson
or And like that's that's what we need more of in this thing. like We're all in this together. So... you know, let's help each other out. And, you know, I've said all along, anybody needs anything from us, we're a phone call away. We're coming. So, you know, anyway.
00:16:00
The SnowJobs Podcast
110 percent.
00:16:01
Todd Dickerson
No question.
00:16:01
The SnowJobs Podcast
110 percent. i think you're I think you hit the nail right on the head, though. The industry 25, 30 years ago was way less collaborative. It was more secretive.
00:16:08
Todd Dickerson
Well, I mean,
00:16:09
The SnowJobs Podcast
It was more like Canadian snow. Like nobody talked to anybody. Nobody giving away any secrets. but but We're all going to race to the bottom.
00:16:17
Todd Dickerson
Let's go back the storm, right?
00:16:18
Todd Dickerson
I mean, we had you know two two great speakers, you know one that I've known forever and and one that I've known for a good amount you know with Josh. And like, I mean, Josh just put it right out there, right?
00:16:31
Todd Dickerson
You know, the recipe is the recipe. We all we all can tweak it a little bit. Excuse me. But like it is what it is. If it's not it's not brain surgery, it's it's snow removal.
00:16:43
Todd Dickerson
So, you know, build your relationships and and use the recipe and and you're going make money.
00:16:50
Todd Dickerson
so you know um but you know i'll talk about some of the cool things that i've seen at the last couple shows right i mean you know and i i'm gonna be i'm gonna apologize because i don't know all the uh the the official right but the the the salt controllers that uh
00:16:50
The SnowJobs Podcast
100%. Yep.
00:17:07
The SnowJobs Podcast
All good. We'll help you out.
00:17:13
Todd Dickerson
you know You can now monitor the salt through the spreader with Douglas and those guys.
00:17:13
RICK JAMES
Does the same amics?
00:17:16
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yep.
00:17:18
Todd Dickerson
That's awesome.
00:17:20
The SnowJobs Podcast
Absolutely.
00:17:22
Todd Dickerson
i just had a guest speaker just walk in, you know celebrity guest.
00:17:28
Todd Dickerson
you know and Yeah.
00:17:29
The SnowJobs Podcast
Who is it? We can't see with your fake backdrop.
00:17:32
The SnowJobs Podcast
Oh, is it Kyle?
00:17:34
The SnowJobs Podcast
What's up?
00:17:35
Todd Dickerson
up, Jeremy?
00:17:37
RICK JAMES
Hey, Kyle, what's up?
00:17:37
Todd Dickerson
Mike Duncan. Mike, I don't think you've ever met my brother, but he he heard we were talking about his Razorback that he's going to get. And he's like, I'm on my way.
00:17:45
Todd Dickerson
on my way.
00:17:46
The SnowJobs Podcast
i I knew he was picking up one of those.
00:17:48
The SnowJobs Podcast
I saw his eyes get all big, little drool coming out.
00:17:52
RICK JAMES
I was like, he didn't leave the booth.
00:17:53
RICK JAMES
He didn't leave the booth.
00:17:56
Todd Dickerson
Yeah, those those poor Arctic guys, so I mean, I think i think they're they coming to his next barbecue or something.
00:18:02
Todd Dickerson
I don't know.
00:18:03
Todd Dickerson
But, I mean, obviously, you know, Kyle loves a Razorback. I'm sure it's to have every bell whistle and light on it. um But, you know, that that thing is, I mean, very interesting. I mean, I know, you know, Jeremy, you ran one last winter, but like, don't
00:18:20
Todd Dickerson
It'd be cool to try out, right? Like, um you know, we're huge fisher guys, but, you know, you always got to try some new stuff every now and then and and see if there's something better out there.
00:18:23
The SnowJobs Podcast
Oh, yeah
00:18:32
Todd Dickerson
So, and I'm not going to say better, but, you know, ah help helps the cause better, shall I say.
00:18:33
The SnowJobs Podcast
yeah. 100%.
00:18:39
The SnowJobs Podcast
More efficiency, maybe.
00:18:39
Todd Dickerson
um Yeah, exactly. Well, I think what I'm looking forward to is hopefully โ
00:18:45
Todd Dickerson
at the location where I'm assisting the guys as more of the, I'm in a supervisory role, but the cleanup aspect will be great where you come in and it' instead of bothering the guys to come do it, I'll be able to kind of using all the features of the scoop and the back drag and different things like that.
00:19:00
Todd Dickerson
I'll be able to maximize me being out there, you know you know what I mean?
00:19:03
The SnowJobs Podcast
hundred percent
00:19:05
Todd Dickerson
Instead of just being a voice, being like, just take care of it and keep moving on.
00:19:09
RICK JAMES
Yeah, exactly.
00:19:10
The SnowJobs Podcast
Absolutely. Absolutely. Well, that'll definitely get it done.
00:19:14
Todd Dickerson
I see that little smile, you know, I had to get the um first responders all together so that, you know, you guys all feel warm and fuzzy together.
00:19:21
The SnowJobs Podcast
Absolutely. Absolutely. Love it. That's great.
00:19:24
The SnowJobs Podcast
I was actually going to ask you, was Kyle available tonight too, but I didn't want you to say, I'm not good enough by myself.
00:19:31
Todd Dickerson
I would never do that.
00:19:32
The SnowJobs Podcast
but but i just say
00:19:34
Todd Dickerson
but When I knew what we were talking about and I figured the Razorback was coming, I was like, I got to have the guest appearance come in and, you know, celebrity of appearance, shall I say.
00:19:42
The SnowJobs Podcast
Absolutely.
00:19:44
Todd Dickerson
So, so there's a few.
00:19:45
The SnowJobs Podcast
Absolutely.
00:19:46
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yeah. To touch back on what you said, Todd, about the rate controllers, the you know whether it's the Douglas, the new Douglas rate controller, that is it obviously a no-brainer for anybody with 2016 or better Douglas spreaders at the price point, $650. You know, like,
00:20:00
The SnowJobs Podcast
Even if the thing don't work, you know, we've we've all blown more money on less sure things. So it's well worth trying it. And then you also got Boss with their VBX Plus spreader, which also tracks material.
00:20:12
The SnowJobs Podcast
So, I mean, I think that's a home run for guys to be able to break into that market because you hit the nail on the head pre-show, Todd, where it's only a matter of time till states start mandating you track your material.
Environmental Regulations and Transition to Electric
00:20:24
Todd Dickerson
ah hundred
00:20:24
The SnowJobs Podcast
I mean, they're doing studies in multiple states.
00:20:26
The SnowJobs Podcast
It's coming. So being able to to plug into some technology lets you track ah you know for that price point to get ahead of the game, I think that's a no-brainer for a lot of guys.
00:20:35
The SnowJobs Podcast
So kudos to both those companies for making that happen.
00:20:37
Todd Dickerson
I think maryland Maryland's kind of going ahead and they're really doing a lot of log sheets on tracking all your whatever you expend on the roads.
00:20:47
The SnowJobs Podcast
I bet.
00:20:48
Todd Dickerson
I mean, not not to that level, but all of what your loads you take in, everything you lay on the road. So they're tracking it. So it's just a matter of time, like you said, before they start off really doing the monitoring. I mean, you know they have you're supposed to go in and get you know your your stuff checked and they rate it, but I don't think they've made it to that but level yet.
00:21:09
Todd Dickerson
But they're at least tracking what you're putting down.
00:21:12
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yeah, and even a lot of customers out there trying to go greener and they want to know how much product you're putting down.
00:21:17
The SnowJobs Podcast
Now you can at least tell them for a very inexpensive rate.
00:21:18
Todd Dickerson
And looking where living where we live in Maryland, DC, right? Like all we ever hear about is the Chesapeake Bay, you know, protect the bay, protect the bay.
00:21:26
The SnowJobs Podcast
Mm-hmm.
00:21:27
Todd Dickerson
And I'm sure it's watersheds anywhere in the country, right? Everybody's trying to protect. But like even our county, like as crazy as our county is, I mean, they have a law now for battery backpack blowers. Like you can't use gas backpack blowers. and So like it's common.
00:21:46
Todd Dickerson
ah Yeah, you have to use, like, even the landscapers, everybody, and, like, your neighbor can take a picture and send it in and get you, you know, yeah get you a fine, basically.
00:21:55
Todd Dickerson
mean, as we know, the world is world of
00:21:57
Mike ODP
And the fine is not pretty. We, uh, yeah.
00:21:59
RICK JAMES
This is America?
00:22:00
Todd Dickerson
yeah Exactly.
00:22:01
Todd Dickerson
It's funny. I hate i got to, got jump on this.
00:22:03
Todd Dickerson
The funny thing is you see the landscapers driving on the road and they're closed trailers and on the tongue of their enclosed trailers, they have a jet, like you'll pull up to a light. The generator's running on the trailer, the extension cord running in, charging their leaf blowers.
00:22:17
RICK JAMES
They're charging them.
00:22:18
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yeah.
00:22:20
Todd Dickerson
It's nonsense. Yeah. So, I mean, yeah.
00:22:22
The SnowJobs Podcast
It's crazy.
00:22:22
RICK JAMES
Make it make sense, right?
00:22:23
RICK JAMES
Make it make sense.
00:22:25
Todd Dickerson
If you don't think of,
00:22:25
Mike ODP
We're not at that point yet running the generators, but ah we got two electric crews right now that do work in the city.
00:22:32
Mike ODP
We're in that ordinance level where we can start using the gas again in middle of October or no, beginning of November for cleanup season. We can do November to December one, and then we can do March or I'm sorry, April to May 1st for cleanup only.
00:22:48
The SnowJobs Podcast
What?
00:22:49
Todd Dickerson
Yeah. And actually,
00:22:50
The SnowJobs Podcast
What's that? That's Massachusetts law?
00:22:53
Mike ODP
Oh, it's it's certain cities. So like Somerville, Brookline, Cambridge.
00:22:57
Todd Dickerson
in Montgomery County, with that, in the fall, you know um when you're allowed to you're allowed to transfer back to gas blowers for like two months.
00:22:58
The SnowJobs Podcast
Dude, you need to change that government. Oh, Jesus.
00:23:02
The SnowJobs Podcast
Hmm.
00:23:02
Mike ODP
it's It's only getting bluer.
00:23:04
The SnowJobs Podcast
jesus
00:23:12
Todd Dickerson
Same thing, like you're saying. It's pretty crazy.
00:23:14
RICK JAMES
No common sense.
00:23:15
Mike ODP
I mean, at least they gave us that. Could you imagine trying to do any landscape work with, you know electric blowers? It'd be a nightmare.
00:23:21
The SnowJobs Podcast
Oh, if you couldn't use the windstorms and hurricanes, you ki kidding me? Oh, my God.
00:23:26
RICK JAMES
did Just let them burn. and Burn the leaves. of a battery player.
00:23:33
The SnowJobs Podcast
Oh, man, that's crazy.
00:23:35
The SnowJobs Podcast
That's crazy. Oh, I didn't realize you were that far along. like i know they I know they were talking about it in some spots in Jersey, putting that in. but that' Because that that electric shit ain't cheap.
00:23:46
Mike ODP
It's not as bad as it used to be. It it's maybe a hundred, $150 more.
00:23:48
The SnowJobs Podcast
Well, nothing is, but.
00:23:51
Mike ODP
Like if I'm buying a hedge trimmer, If it's, call it 350, it's probably like 450 for an electric version.
00:23:57
The SnowJobs Podcast
Okay.
00:23:59
Mike ODP
For the electric stuff that I've used so far, I actually like it. Pretty user-friendly. The battery lasts a lot longer and the handheld stuff's lighter. So during the day, hot day, the guys trimming shrubs, weed whacking, blowing, it's not as bad as hanging on to a gas-powered machine all day. It's so a lot lighter, a lot more user-friendly.
00:24:17
Mike ODP
In that aspect, I like it. And they've definitely improved the battery life. I don't know how it is for the snowblowers yet. I'm sure the single stages will be the next on the commercial list for bigger lithium-ion batteries for you the winter season.
00:24:30
The SnowJobs Podcast
but ah Oh, man, it's coming.
00:24:33
Todd Dickerson
Keep laughing, Gregoy. It's coming to New York.
00:24:35
The SnowJobs Podcast
ah It's definitely coming to New York. I'm shocked it hasn't started yet here because we're ridiculous, too.
00:24:41
The SnowJobs Podcast
I mean, they they try and over government everything.
00:24:42
RICK JAMES
Pretty sure I'm safe.
00:24:45
The SnowJobs Podcast
It's crazy.
00:24:45
RICK JAMES
I think I'm safe.
00:24:45
Todd Dickerson
Well, you know.
00:24:46
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yeah, I think you're pretty safe out there, Jeremy.
00:24:47
RICK JAMES
um thank I think I'm safe.
00:24:49
The SnowJobs Podcast
You're 25 years behind the time out there, so you're good.
00:24:52
RICK JAMES
I love it. I love it. I'll be dead before that happens.
00:24:53
Todd Dickerson
i mean, they still have dark roads out there, for Christ's sake. So, like, you know.
00:24:58
The SnowJobs Podcast
He's still got dirt roads, exactly.
00:25:00
The SnowJobs Podcast
once Once asphalt makes it out there, Jeremy, on large scale, once blacktop makes it out there, yeah, exactly.
00:25:01
RICK JAMES
We got a buffalo.
00:25:04
RICK JAMES
What's asphalt? What's that? What are you talking about?
00:25:06
The SnowJobs Podcast
Then that's what brings everything else, the blacktop.
00:25:09
The SnowJobs Podcast
So once blacktop starts creeping into North Dakota, then worry. Oh, my God.
00:25:13
RICK JAMES
Oh, never heard of it.
00:25:14
Todd Dickerson
The Amish out in North Dakota, those those ah buggies are gonna are going to hate those.
00:25:21
The SnowJobs Podcast
but but but
00:25:23
The SnowJobs Podcast
oh god
00:25:23
Mike ODP
With the old drag plows.
00:25:24
Todd Dickerson
yeah. yeah
00:25:26
The SnowJobs Podcast
so we got So we got the Razorback. We got the the rate controllers. Anything else you guys are top-dogging this year? Anything else that you're keeping an eye on out there in the industry?
00:25:37
Todd Dickerson
Yeah, I think after Storm, we've we've been talking Evie about the Vroom Vroom.
00:25:42
The SnowJobs Podcast
Okay.
00:25:44
Todd Dickerson
Looks to be a phenomenal unit you know with the with the flow and the flick and all that good stuff, plus the wearability.
00:25:51
Todd Dickerson
I mean, we definitely got to take a peek at that. um You know I'm a big superior vroom guy, um just based off of you know what we started using them for.
00:25:58
The SnowJobs Podcast
Mm-hmm.
00:26:02
Todd Dickerson
But that Vroom Vroom and a couple of different applications, like one that Kyle runs, um certainly could be a great, you know, hook up when you need it and unhook when you don't need it.
00:26:15
Todd Dickerson
And, you know, kind of a multi kind of thing. So very interested in that.
00:26:20
Todd Dickerson
And then, you know. As I said on the first podcast, I'm still personally very interested in the Top Gun for our unique situations at different facilities that I think a back blade would...
00:26:30
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yep.
00:26:38
Todd Dickerson
would be very ah clean and efficient there and, so you know, speed up the process. So, you know, and, you know, I like what that guy's doing.
00:26:49
Todd Dickerson
You know, he's, he's reminds me a lot of us when we started, you know, like I said, the old craftsman tools, putting it together and, you know, just kind of into it himself and, and run them with it.
00:27:02
Todd Dickerson
I think that's, I think that's cool. I like to support people as this guy.
00:27:05
The SnowJobs Podcast
Absolutely. And top gun Top Gun also just announced that they are now compatible with VSI sprayers.
00:27:11
Todd Dickerson
Yeah, that's awesome.
00:27:12
The SnowJobs Podcast
They have a bracket for the VSI spray bar that fits right on the blade. So be able to put a VSI spray tank in your truck and spray at the same time or or at least in the same route that you're plowing on.
00:27:24
The SnowJobs Podcast
there There's a bracket that goes right on the blade to handle the spray bar. So that's really cool that they that they got that going on.
00:27:29
Todd Dickerson
yeah that's all
00:27:31
The SnowJobs Podcast
And I think Kamian is in the works.
00:27:33
The SnowJobs Podcast
They're making a bracket for Kamian as well.
00:27:36
Todd Dickerson
I've been a little bit in discussions with, is it the plow rate?
00:27:36
The SnowJobs Podcast
So that be cool.
00:27:41
RICK JAMES
Plot right, yep.
00:27:42
The SnowJobs Podcast
There's no stakes.
00:27:44
Todd Dickerson
think i'm gonna I think I'm gonna maybe try to try those out a little bit, see how they work out. I discussed that.
00:27:50
The SnowJobs Podcast
They're new and improved.
00:27:52
The SnowJobs Podcast
I forced Matt to get, I said, i love them. The one thing my guys complain about is the reflective. The glint tape is not wide enough at one inch sometimes to pick them up at night.
00:28:03
The SnowJobs Podcast
So I said, can you make it like six inches? So he added, he got them to do the reflective. So now you have a one inch reflective or you have a choice of, I think, four to six inches of reflective on there.
00:28:13
The SnowJobs Podcast
So they really jump out.
00:28:13
Todd Dickerson
That's good enough. So I should probably look into the the bigger bigger reflective area. So that's good enough.
00:28:21
The SnowJobs Podcast
10-4.
00:28:22
Todd Dickerson
We've been in communications, talking back and forth. I just got to figure out how to seal the deal on that. Yeah, but you know that...
00:28:28
The SnowJobs Podcast
I feel like an idiot that I didn't know about those for the longest time. Brandon Riley from LADC out in Minnesota actually mentioned it on a show, and I'm like, what the hell are plowrites? And now after like three years of using them, I i don't know what I'd do without them.
00:28:40
RICK JAMES
They're awesome.
00:28:40
The SnowJobs Podcast
like but They're so great.
00:28:42
RICK JAMES
They're awesome. I just talked to him today. I figuring out what I got to order for this year too. I'm like, think he's got one or two more shipments and he should have should should be stocked up.
00:28:51
The SnowJobs Podcast
What are you currently using, Todd and Kyle? What do you guys currently use for so when you got a steak? Are you using fiberglass?
00:28:57
Todd Dickerson
Yeah, the traditional fiber device. And got to tell you, one, obviously, dude's hands get torn up. And then two, like when you start like
00:29:03
The SnowJobs Podcast
Oh, yeah.
00:29:06
Todd Dickerson
collecting them and doing different, trying to maneuver them, they get heavy. So those things are super light.
00:29:10
The SnowJobs Podcast
Oh, yeah.
00:29:13
Todd Dickerson
They got the handy like quiver, if you want to call it a quiver, I guess. And you got the the installation tool.
00:29:17
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yep.
00:29:20
Todd Dickerson
So I think it'll expedite that. So I'm looking forward
00:29:23
The SnowJobs Podcast
Oh, 100% it will. It's funny. Do you guys keep track of, like, do you have a ballpark of how many, what percentage you lose every year of the fiberglass ones?
00:29:32
Todd Dickerson
Hey, I can't get that on my yellow legal pad, so we don't keep stopping.
00:29:35
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yeah.
00:29:40
Todd Dickerson
But like, if it doesn't go on this, on this, you legal pad, we don't care about it.
Product Feedback and Manufacturer Responsiveness
00:29:46
The SnowJobs Podcast
We were losing like literally one out of every three. We were losing either splintering, either, you know, breaking because somebody backed over.
00:29:53
The SnowJobs Podcast
They just flat out disappeared. We were losing like literally 33%.
00:29:57
The SnowJobs Podcast
And if we lose one per 20 or 30 of the plow, of I'm sorry, the, what are they? Plow right? My mind just blank.
00:30:07
RICK JAMES
Plowrite, yeah. Plowrite.
00:30:08
The SnowJobs Podcast
My mind just totally blank. Holy shit.
00:30:09
RICK JAMES
Plowrite stakes.
00:30:10
The SnowJobs Podcast
If we lose like one out of 20 or 30 of those, it's lot.
00:30:15
Todd Dickerson
So it's funny you say that because i don't know if it's just at the right height or if it's just people like to grab them, but down at the Pentagon, like literally one day i went down there and like 35 of them by their entrance were just gone.
00:30:28
Todd Dickerson
And like, I'm like, how does this happen? And like, look,
00:30:31
The SnowJobs Podcast
Sword fights on lunch hour. Yeah, 100%.
00:30:34
Todd Dickerson
walk by and grab them and then you find them sitting corner somewhere but it's crazy so i'm really hoping that that'll you know walking less than that down yeah i guess it's walking but yeah
00:30:36
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yeah,
00:30:43
RICK JAMES
Well, you just got to walk around, see who's rubbing their hands because they got the fiberglass slivers on them. Now, then you know who took them.
00:30:50
The SnowJobs Podcast
they're great, though.
00:30:52
Todd Dickerson
yeah exactly
00:30:53
The SnowJobs Podcast
yeah they're great the
00:30:54
RICK JAMES
What's nice with the plow rights also, I think I've said this before, but it's nice with that tool. They all go on in the same, everything's gonna level. you know that's to right It's not like this stakes up this high, this down this low.
00:31:07
RICK JAMES
They're all gonna be with that tool, everything gets put in the same. So everything looks, don't know, like it, everything looked the same.
00:31:12
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yeah, they're well worth it and it'll save you money.
00:31:15
The SnowJobs Podcast
So they're well worth it.
00:31:15
Todd Dickerson
I remember at the conference we were just at, you guys were really more recommending the 36 versus the 40. Just being more resilient and holding their form.
00:31:24
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yeah. know Yeah, well, when I had the bigger one, i what the what are they, 42s, 48s? I forget what they their biggest one is.
00:31:32
RICK JAMES
42 or 46, yeah, I don't remember.
00:31:33
The SnowJobs Podcast
so afford So the 46s, I got a mixture of 46 and the 32s, the first batch we ordered. And we had an ice storm, like right off the bat.
00:31:44
The SnowJobs Podcast
And ice built up on the tip, on the upper tip. And it did the weight of that actually, you know, kind it didn't make them fall over, but it kind of,
00:31:53
RICK JAMES
Just made a, yeah.
00:31:54
The SnowJobs Podcast
Bent them a little bit, like they curved a little bit and they didn't come back after that.
00:31:59
The SnowJobs Podcast
So I just told Matt, like, hey, send me all 32s from now on.
00:32:03
The SnowJobs Podcast
And since then we've had 36, whatever.
00:32:06
The SnowJobs Podcast
And we've had zero problems with them. Like those are, yeah, those the way to go. They're plenty visible. They're plenty high. Even on the roads that we're windrowing, they stay plenty high.
00:32:17
Todd Dickerson
Cool. Good to
00:32:19
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yep. They stay upright a lot better, actually. um Yeah, that's cool. that See that? And you found two things at that regional boutique snow show, as you said.
00:32:31
The SnowJobs Podcast
You know, i that's I mean, that's great, though.
00:32:32
RICK JAMES
Now I found more. if
00:32:34
The SnowJobs Podcast
That's that's really cool. One day you found two products that, you know, could potentially help your efficiency and and help your bottom line. So that I mean, that's what it's all about.
00:32:43
Todd Dickerson
no No question. And like we tell our guys, we take our guys every year to a trade show in Buffalo that's for the airport market. And we're like, look, if you don't leave here with at least three vendor connections and at least five, you know, co-airport
00:33:00
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yep, network, yep, networking.
00:33:02
Todd Dickerson
or like some you're not doing what you should be doing like literally as we did in storm you know you sit around the bar and order mcdonald's at 2 a.m for 200 you
00:33:16
The SnowJobs Podcast
ah show on orders mcdonald's two am m
00:33:19
Todd Dickerson
ah you build your network right like that that's what it's all about but real quick back back to plow right like
00:33:27
Todd Dickerson
that That kind of exemplifies what I said earlier. We talked to the owner, right? And immediately he adjusted and pivoted like he did with your reflective deal.
00:33:34
The SnowJobs Podcast
100%.
00:33:38
Todd Dickerson
And like, those guys are listening. So when you go to these things and you talk to the, you know, the reps or the manufacturers, or in that case, even the owner, right? Like, they want their product to be good. We want our product. do You guys want your company to be good.
00:33:54
Todd Dickerson
So we're going to listen to our customers.
00:33:54
The SnowJobs Podcast
hundred percent
00:33:56
Todd Dickerson
And, you know, when you get involved in these kind of boutique, I'm going to use that word all the time now.
00:34:02
The SnowJobs Podcast
it It sounds very non-legal, Ped.
00:34:02
RICK JAMES
Yeah, I like it.
00:34:06
Todd Dickerson
but you When you go to those boutique shows, you know, yeah.
00:34:09
RICK JAMES
How do you spell that?
00:34:10
Todd Dickerson
know Give me a moment.
00:34:15
Todd Dickerson
Boutique. Whatever. Um, these guys know what I'm talking about. I mean, forgot.
00:34:22
Todd Dickerson
But, you know, my point is like they're listening and they want to adjust to what we want and what our customers want, which is what it's all about. So, yeah.
00:34:31
The SnowJobs Podcast
Absolutely.
00:34:34
Todd Dickerson
So, I mean, those are kind of mind my top ones.
00:34:34
The SnowJobs Podcast
Very cool.
00:34:37
Todd Dickerson
I think, you know, There's always cool stuff out there, right?
00:34:42
The SnowJobs Podcast
Sure.
00:34:42
Todd Dickerson
oh You know, you guys, I'm sure you're going to talk about the caseloaders. Those look cool to us. You know, even John Deere guys, you know, the wolf loaders look cool.
00:34:48
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yep.
00:34:54
Todd Dickerson
I know, think somebody's got to get some hours on those, like we talked about to, you know, check them out. But like... There's all kinds of cool stuff out there and we're not shy to take a shot on something and see if it works and if it doesn't, we got plenty of stuff over in the corner that you know we're not going to use anymore.
00:35:15
The SnowJobs Podcast
you Yeah, we all do. but
00:35:19
Todd Dickerson
I got an ARP
00:35:19
The SnowJobs Podcast
The Snow Guy Graveyard. Everybody's got it It's just a different size.
00:35:23
Todd Dickerson
We got our fire truck sitting in the corner that, you know, I thought was going to be a great idea. And guess what? It's still sitting in the corner. So, you know, it happens, but, you know, we can send that to Jeremy to spray those dirt roads out there.
00:35:36
RICK JAMES
There you go. I'll take it.
00:35:40
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yeah, that's an interesting point, though. I think those the the wolf loaders are definitely something to keep an eye on this winter. If they can get those to like 800 to 1,000 hours and really show people that they'll hold up, you know, that's โ you figure you get 1,000 hours, most of us, on a wolf loader.
00:35:56
The SnowJobs Podcast
That's probably eight to ten seasons of normal average winters in the Northeast. So, I mean, Mike, how many hours are you guys putting on loaders at ODP? What's your average? Yeah.
00:36:09
Mike ODP
100, 150, something like that.
00:36:10
The SnowJobs Podcast
Okay, so yeah, right in the ballpark. So, i mean, if if you can't for $65,000 with snow tires fully loaded, if you can't get your money out in eight to ten years of that, you're doing something wrong.
00:36:21
The SnowJobs Podcast
You pick a different profession. So i think those are a real โ I think they're a real option for guys if they if they can show that they're going to hold up long term.
00:36:29
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yeah, 100%.
00:36:30
RICK JAMES
yeah For sure.
00:36:31
The SnowJobs Podcast
hundred percent
00:36:32
Todd Dickerson
and one ah One other thing that I thought was cool at at Storm is the the snow tire or the tyre guys, I guess, right? Because
00:36:39
The SnowJobs Podcast
Was STS? Was it?
00:36:42
Todd Dickerson
NTS, I think.
00:36:42
The SnowJobs Podcast
I forget the name of it. NTS. That was it. NTS.
00:36:46
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yep.
00:36:46
Todd Dickerson
Well, and look, Jeremy knows I'm not an equipment guy.
00:36:51
Todd Dickerson
You know, we have an equipment guy, Richard, who handles all that. But I've been wanting to try snow tires, right? Because all you guys keep saying, you know, hey, it it boosts your, you know, it raises you up a level, yada, yada, yada.
00:37:05
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yep.
00:37:05
Todd Dickerson
And it makes sense. But I kept looking at the costs. And I was like, I don't know, like, I don't know if that's That's gonna be a ah good ah ROI on that, right?
00:37:16
Todd Dickerson
But at the same time, in talking to those guys, and again, this gets back to why guys need to start going to these things.
00:37:17
RICK JAMES
Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
00:37:24
Todd Dickerson
They're like, well, we'll trade your ah we'll trade your old tires out and give you a trade in. And I'm like, Really like that, that's, those are huge dollars coming back that, you know, now makes that a real possibility, you know, to, to be able to do that kind of stuff.
00:37:41
Todd Dickerson
But again, if we weren't there talking to them and kind of, you know, kicking the tire, so to speak, no pun intended, but we would, I know I would have never known.
00:37:42
The SnowJobs Podcast
hundred percent
00:37:51
Todd Dickerson
And I doubt if Kyle would have known nor, nor, well, maybe Richard knew, but he probably just wasn't sharing that with me, but I doubt that, but you know,
00:37:59
The SnowJobs Podcast
I wouldn't have thought you could get a trade. My my company that I got, my snow tires didn't trade didn't offer a trade in on my ah my original tires.
00:38:07
Todd Dickerson
Yeah, and literally they were like, we'll come we'll come out to the D.C.
00:38:07
RICK JAMES
We've done that, yeah.
00:38:11
Todd Dickerson
area, no problem. If that's, you know, if we got a good number of loaders, let's do it. And I'm like, I think we got enough loaders. So
00:38:19
The SnowJobs Podcast
he should be
00:38:20
Todd Dickerson
we of so anyway, I feel like I've talked enough, but, you know, i'll let I'll let Mike run with it now so I can sit back and listen.
00:38:29
The SnowJobs Podcast
All right, sounds good. Mikey, what do you guys got? What's ODP trying out or keeping their eye on this winner product-wise?
00:38:35
Mike ODP
ah So this year, brand new for ah two walkway teams. We're actually getting a pair of Snow Raiders to try this year for two originals.
00:38:43
The SnowJobs Podcast
The mags or originals? Okay. Okay.
00:38:46
Mike ODP
just to try out for two travel crews. We did, so with the battery power stuff I was talking about for the Boston teams, ah between Manchester and Boston, we we built out of two 550s, we did those those landscape bodies you can you can throw on the back instead of having a trailer.
00:39:05
The SnowJobs Podcast
Sure.
00:39:06
Mike ODP
It's got that dovetail.
00:39:07
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yep. Yeah, the, yeah what the hell they call Bed? No, rack.
00:39:12
Mike ODP
I can't remember it for the life of me.
00:39:13
The SnowJobs Podcast
Ready rack?
00:39:14
RICK JAMES
Yeah, we had we talked about it on one show. I can't remember the name of it now, but don't.
00:39:16
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yeah.
00:39:17
The SnowJobs Podcast
Shit.
00:39:18
Mike ODP
So we're going to try those out with with the guys for doing some travel routes and see how they like doing those with the shovelers just to help them out They're going to have brine units on them.
00:39:20
The SnowJobs Podcast
Don't think of it.
00:39:29
Mike ODP
So there's probably going to be a tote on the back of each truck. What is it? The 375 gallon totes. They can fill those things up as needed. So those will be cool to see. I've kind of been dying to get a few of those on some of the smaller crews that bop around to see if it helps them out efficiency-wise. But obviously setting them up and the logistics and building the trucks is what slows a lot of guys down if you don't have that niche truck lined up. It's kind of hard to to build that travel crew to be able to hold something like that. You're almost so better off just sending a four-door truck out with a bunch of shovelers and calling it a night.
00:40:02
Mike ODP
But with those Snow Raiders, we are finally getting some big trucks this year. We're getting two, three F650s hook lifts. So those are going to be a good full season truck.
00:40:12
The SnowJobs Podcast
Wow, nice.
00:40:14
Mike ODP
We saw the hook lift unit at Syma for a number of years and we liked the design. Obviously the, just the need for something a little bit bigger and the dumpster canisters and the flat deck to
00:40:27
The SnowJobs Podcast
Do you know what you went with? You go with a stellar or what hook lift did you go with? Do you know offhand?
00:40:35
Mike ODP
No, not hitch and go. Hitch and go is the the winch system, I think.
00:40:39
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yeah, this actual hook, true hooks.
00:40:39
Mike ODP
These are the true the true hook lifts.
00:40:42
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yeah, it's either Stellar or what the heck's the other one?
00:40:45
The SnowJobs Podcast
I can't remember the other brand offhand now. Man, my mind is blanking tonight.
00:40:48
Mike ODP
It's not Paul Finger, is it?
00:40:50
The SnowJobs Podcast
Palfinger does make a hook lift. Yes, they do make a hook lift. And that rack you were talking about, the ramp, it's ah the ramp rack.
00:40:58
RICK JAMES
RAMPRAC? RAMPRAC.
00:40:59
Mike ODP
That's right, yeah, yeah.
00:40:59
The SnowJobs Podcast
Ramp rack. Yep. That is, I just had to look that up. to I'm like, man, this is going to bother me. I'm missing,
Advancements in Smart Snow Equipment
00:41:05
The SnowJobs Podcast
i' I'm off tonight.
00:41:06
Mike ODP
You're like me, you're a fact finder.
00:41:06
The SnowJobs Podcast
I'm not firing.
00:41:08
Mike ODP
It's gonna bother you.
00:41:08
The SnowJobs Podcast
I'm not firing tonight.
00:41:08
Todd Dickerson
on vacation already.
00:41:11
The SnowJobs Podcast
I am.
00:41:12
The SnowJobs Podcast
definitely am. That's cool, though.
00:41:15
The SnowJobs Podcast
The hook lifts will definitely make you versatile. Switch bodies.
00:41:18
Mike ODP
Oh, super. Yeah. the The enhancement guys are stoked for it. Cause we've been dying to get some dumpsters for some of these sites that we're doing projects on. And now if we're going to do, you know, some salt storage or some salt replenishing, we can just load those up and send it out.
00:41:32
Mike ODP
um Those are going to flat decks with five yards steel casters. So that'll be nice. We're actually going to a lot of the steel casters for the five fifties and the three, six fifties. We're not going to do the, the polys anymore for those larger trucks.
00:41:47
The SnowJobs Podcast
Mm-hmm.
00:41:48
Mike ODP
We got a we got ah pair of them last year.
00:41:48
The SnowJobs Podcast
Makes sense.
00:41:50
Mike ODP
We really, really liked it going back to a steel unit. Great design. The ah helical, the auger actually worked out really well. We didn't have any issues binding it up. So...
00:42:01
Mike ODP
We're going to get a few of those for the 550s, for the 650s, and then we're going get the Tempest for the F350s. And all those trucks, the cool thing about the the trucks this year is they're going to be Duramag bodies. They're going be eight-foot aluminum Duramag bodies that will have a dump piston on them for the single axle trucks.
00:42:22
Mike ODP
And these are going to be, like in the landscape season, right, they'll be manager's trucks for the operations team to drive around in. But um they're all going to xls's now instead of the xv2s we're going to try out the xls's just uh i'm not really sure why i know it's not a cost reason i think it was like a uh that center pin you know if it takes enough strikes on manholes or something like that it kind of gets all wonky so we're going to try the xls's um for a lot of the for all the trucks that we're getting now and
00:42:41
Todd Dickerson
All right.
00:42:53
The SnowJobs Podcast
Are you getting rid of the Vs, Mike, and and going to the โ you're just keeping.
00:42:55
Mike ODP
We're not getting rid of them. As those trucks get swapped out, we'll, uh, exactly.
00:42:57
The SnowJobs Podcast
So they're all fleet flex, so you can switch back and forth need to. Gotcha.
00:43:01
Mike ODP
Yeah. The XLS is, uh, the XV two they're going to stay with the truck until gets traded in. So we're not going to get rid of them.
00:43:07
The SnowJobs Podcast
Gotcha.
00:43:08
Mike ODP
These are all just for the new trucks. Um, so those are all going to have rack bodies, which will be nice, uh, make it easier for the guys to clean. lot of guys come back to the shop, just like you guys know, it's a pain to line up a group of guys to get some of those polycasters off.
00:43:23
Mike ODP
If you don't have that, uh, ability, like we have one of those, uh, lift systems we built for our loaders that just grabs the four handles on each point and lifts it off. But <unk> it's still a production this way.
00:43:31
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yeah, that's all we have.
00:43:33
Mike ODP
At least I can just jump on there, tilt it up, wash the thing down. It's hell of a lot easier. ah the accountability for the guys to keep them clean i feel like will be better and greasing that the two rear bearings in the back will be a lot easier for those guys too instead of the truck bed um fighting you're trying to get in there let's see so that was trucks snow raiders we're getting more of the at450s the bobcat steiner version of the uh the walkway units we uh we had good luck with them last year so we're going to keep switching
00:43:48
The SnowJobs Podcast
Oh, yeah.
00:44:03
The SnowJobs Podcast
and Okay.
00:44:07
Mike ODP
with those and vent tracks we'll keep leasing vent tracks but we'll keep switching out these ones with new sites we pick up and for some of the mini loaders this year were we liked the snow of apex that we tried out last year one of our larger sites so we got a ah bunch of them for our l95s this year to try out we're we're excited for those lot beefier than the quattro plows has a great scrape good price point you know we
00:44:35
The SnowJobs Podcast
That has a live edge on it, right?
00:44:37
Mike ODP
Yeah, Snowbolts version of live edge.
00:44:38
The SnowJobs Podcast
whatever they
00:44:39
The SnowJobs Podcast
yeah Whatever they call it. Yep.
00:44:41
Mike ODP
Yeah, it's a nice unit.
00:44:41
The SnowJobs Podcast
Cool.
00:44:42
Mike ODP
It's got some great weight to it. Good scrape. Price points right where we need it to be. So we're excited to add more of those to the fleet. And I forgot to add all those, the spreaders that we got are going to have that new tracking system on it too.
00:44:50
The SnowJobs Podcast
Very cool.
00:44:57
The SnowJobs Podcast
Oh, cool.
00:44:57
RICK JAMES
Oh, that Douglas one?
00:44:58
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yeah, the RAID controller from Douglas.
00:45:01
The SnowJobs Podcast
Very cool.
00:45:02
RICK JAMES
That would be nice.
00:45:03
Mike ODP
Oh, it's going to be great.
00:45:03
RICK JAMES
Yeah, i think that's going to be a big hit. We already said that, but it's going to be a huge hit.
00:45:05
The SnowJobs Podcast
It is. That's going to be a no-brainer.
00:45:07
Mike ODP
and Steve, like you said, the price point is just like it's 600 bucks that go for it.
00:45:13
RICK JAMES
For one second, people didn't rip us off.
00:45:15
RICK JAMES
That's weird for snow guys.
00:45:15
Todd Dickerson
Thank you.
00:45:17
The SnowJobs Podcast
I mean, you know, they were they were smart. Guys have been saying build something that is not compartmentalized, but build something you can make modular and add on to. So that Fleet Flex system, there's so many different things they can do now with the existing technology that they don't have to pay for R&D.
00:45:34
The SnowJobs Podcast
So basically, if they're using the same controller body and all they're doing is adding a couple buttons and, ah you know, another chip, It's not that big a deal. They're not they don't have to factor R&D costs into it, into the price point.
00:45:48
The SnowJobs Podcast
That's why it's so cheap. That's awesome. Good for them for keeping it simple, you know, making a modular system that they can add on to.
00:45:55
The SnowJobs Podcast
I think that's awesome. i Like Jeremy said, I think it's going to be a huge hit this year.
00:45:59
Mike ODP
Well, Steve, you ah you also kind of hit it too. Like they're in the New England area like us. They're seeing a lot of those those tests starting to get out there for the salt level in the soil. i think they see the writing on the wall and they know that they have to make it easy for the guys that already have stuff and aren't going to shell out you know another five, six, seven, eight, whatever, $9,000 to get a new unit for their truck just to have that calibrated unit in fact.
00:46:21
The SnowJobs Podcast
i I think Douglas and to you know to to be fair, Boss has the VBX Plus and basically that spreader does the same thing. gives you the ability to track material usage.
00:46:35
The SnowJobs Podcast
And I think both of them were smart enough to say, we don't need to make this overly complicated. We need to make a simple version, an affordable version affordable way of tracking their usage that is not going to break their bank.
00:46:51
The SnowJobs Podcast
They're not going to have to make a choice over this, over something else they might really need. So being keeping it affordable like that, because I don't believe the Voss BBX vbx Plus, I don't think that is astronomically higher than in the old BBX price. I think it's like another $850,000 for the plus. it's bank-breaking.
00:47:08
The SnowJobs Podcast
for the plus so it's not it's not bank breaking So, I mean, good good for both those OEMs for answering the call and getting what guys want out there without hitting them over the head.
00:47:22
Todd Dickerson
How long until you can basically either ah print that but that that information out for each location, you know, as you're done spreading, hit a button and it prints out like a receipt, or you can download that information into a spreadsheet or something like that.
00:47:41
Todd Dickerson
Being tech-y.com.
00:47:41
The SnowJobs Podcast
You know, I don't know. We asked the question. We asked the question to Seth when he was on for that episode. ah It was actually a listener question of ah can it you know basically give you, like you said, a receipt or a printout.
00:47:54
The SnowJobs Podcast
And it's not capable of doing that yet. But i don't it's all in the Fleet Flex system. So I don't see why at some point going forward, if this is a hit, that it couldn't yet be another add-on to just have it spit out a receipt at the end of the job.
00:48:05
Todd Dickerson
Sure. fun like you like we put it and to the yeah track Hey, Mike, if you don't mind, I'll give you a few words of kind of from some of my experience.
00:48:11
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yeah.
00:48:16
Todd Dickerson
I was listening to you with the Snow Raiders.
00:48:19
Todd Dickerson
The Snow Raiders are a huge asset. Are you going to be having granular application on the front of this as well with the ah granular?
00:48:25
Mike ODP
I don't believe so. I think just Liquid.
00:48:27
Todd Dickerson
Okay. Well, we use them. We have both of them on there and they work well. The one thing you got to watch on the Snow Raiders. So the motor that the motor joins to a hydraulic pump, obviously to run everything.
00:48:40
Todd Dickerson
There's this weird couple, I looked it up to try to figure out the name and I'm using the wrong name.
00:48:45
Todd Dickerson
It says hydraulic pump system, but where the motor joins that pump, there's a special connector. And on that connector, it's got like two metal sides and then it actually has like a polyurethane in the middle so that when you engage it, it gives it it's like a flex ah flexible joint.
00:49:04
Todd Dickerson
But you wanna keep an eye on that to make sure that that stays tight because we've had one for some reason, I don't know if it's just, giving us hell, but I put three of those connectors on.
00:49:14
Todd Dickerson
So just make sure your mechanics keep an eye on those because it'll start right up. It'll run great. But I mean, the machine's dead because it can't transfer the power to the, obviously obviously the hydraulic pump to run the,
00:49:26
Todd Dickerson
The motor or the controls, meaning the plow as well as the wheels because everything's hydraulic driven. But they're a huge asset for us down there. And, you know, some of the guys we are important, you know, we've partnered with over the years and good buddies mine.
00:49:42
Todd Dickerson
He's literally said it's been a 61 race, a six to one ratio of shovelers to a Snow Raider. So he's really, really.
00:49:49
The SnowJobs Podcast
Oh, yeah. Easily. Yep. 100%.
00:49:51
Todd Dickerson
you i mean
00:49:52
The SnowJobs Podcast
hundred percent
00:49:53
Mike ODP
I appreciate that Kyle. Thank you.
00:49:55
Todd Dickerson
The other thing with your 650s, you said you were getting a 650 hook lift. It's paramount. The front end of those, they have the front end the six fifty s I don't know you know if you have any in your fleet, but there's like milks and crannies up there that, I mean, we trust them.
00:50:09
Todd Dickerson
We have our guys clean everything really good, but make sure the front end up underneath in the milks and crannies, like in the wheel wells, kind of like under the motor, but above the wheel wells, if you don't get in there, it'll it'll come back to haunt you.
00:50:23
Todd Dickerson
So really clean those wells.
00:50:24
Mike ODP
So these are our first 650s ever in the in the company, but I've i've cleaned a lot of 650s in my day, and I know exactly the nooks and crannies you're talking about. Most of them around the headlight buckets underneath that hood.
00:50:34
Todd Dickerson
made up much real well it's It's a nightmare.
00:50:37
Todd Dickerson
And it'll come back to haunt you later because it gets in your electrics and all that good stuff. But...
00:50:42
Mike ODP
And the bumper, the entire bumper. If you don't get behind that, you're already going to start to see pitting and a bunch of peeling and corrosion starting to happen early.
00:50:46
Todd Dickerson
Sure. Yeah,
00:50:47
The SnowJobs Podcast
and They're doing you a favor. They're making sure you replenish your fleet every 10 years.
00:50:53
Todd Dickerson
those......programs...
00:50:54
RICK JAMES
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
00:50:57
The SnowJobs Podcast
Don't tell me it has nothing to do with it. Cynical Steve, everything's manufactured with an end date so they can project what their sales are going to be.
00:51:04
Mike ODP
It's only a conspiracy if it isn't true.
00:51:06
The SnowJobs Podcast
Exactly.
00:51:07
The SnowJobs Podcast
100%. It comes into everything. Oh, that's cool.
00:51:11
The SnowJobs Podcast
my yeah That's a lot of stuff.
00:51:13
Todd Dickerson
If you got a lot of, a lot of, you know, mileage on those, just keep an eye on the cutting edges because and they'll they'll get in into those cutting edges pretty quick. Like, you know, I think we went about four storms and then we really had to change some cutting edges out.
00:51:27
Todd Dickerson
But I mean, we got a lot of, yeah, but we got a lot of, like they're running those on a lot of sidewalks down the Pentagon and
00:51:28
Mike ODP
the stock edges.
00:51:35
Mike ODP
Yeah, these are going to get stripped for for winters. All these trucks, at the we basically have a stack of brand new blades that never even see snow.
00:51:40
Todd Dickerson
I don't know. I mean the snow. I'm talking about the snow Raiders.
00:51:42
The SnowJobs Podcast
He's talking about the Snow Raider blade.
00:51:44
Mike ODP
Oh, I'm sorry, the snow radar blade.
00:51:46
Todd Dickerson
Cutting edge on those will go for rather quick.
00:51:46
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yeah. They, yeah.
00:51:49
Todd Dickerson
not I mean, look, they're good, but just keep an eye on or you'll get in the bowl.
00:51:52
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yep.
00:51:53
Mike ODP
Yeah, that I can see because you have down pressure on that
00:51:56
The SnowJobs Podcast
You have a lot of down pressure. Those guys can put that the six inches.
00:51:58
Mike ODP
Yeah, we'll lift the front wheels off.
00:52:01
The SnowJobs Podcast
They can put a lot of down pressure on that. And if they're trying to scrape up hardback or ice spots, they're going to do it. And, you know, it'll happen. we ah But that exact path spreader, if you do put spreaders on, Mike, I don't think there's a better spreader.
00:52:18
The SnowJobs Podcast
out there like that thing is really simple the controller is great the ability to load it is awesome because it's out in the open like i love ventrac i mean
00:52:26
Mike ODP
Right. It's not a drawer that got to pull out.
00:52:29
The SnowJobs Podcast
Well, the drawer,
Strategic Fleet Planning and Technology Upgrades
00:52:30
Mike ODP
It's like a file cabinet.
00:52:30
The SnowJobs Podcast
believe it or not, I love the slide-out drawer on the Ventrac.
00:52:34
The SnowJobs Podcast
The older Ventrac style, as much as I love the machines, those spreaders are the biggest pain in the ass to fill. You got six-inch triangles on two sides that you got to try and get 100 pounds of salt into.
00:52:46
The SnowJobs Podcast
It's not fucking easy. It's a mess. Salt's everywhere. It's not professional.
00:52:51
The SnowJobs Podcast
it It sucks. But that exact path, it even has ah it ah even has the the perforated that'll tear the bag for you. So you just drop the bag right on the spreader. It pokes the holes in it. You split the bag in the middle and boom, you're in there if you're using bag material.
00:53:05
The SnowJobs Podcast
It's even easier from a five gallon bucket if you're filling Two five gallon buckets, you're good to go.
00:53:11
Mike ODP
Yeah, and I could be wrong. Maybe they're coming with both, but from what I heard, it's just Brian. But hoping it's the exact path, too.
00:53:18
The SnowJobs Podcast
It's ah that that I still say that's a home run, that exact path. I was very impressed with it.
00:53:23
Todd Dickerson
yeah that works very well.
00:53:24
RICK JAMES
cutting edges, Mike, I'd go to like your local dealer something, see they get some Esco ones made. I had made Ferrari little tractors that have little blades on them.
00:53:33
RICK JAMES
I had Esco make some.
00:53:33
Mike ODP
Or like the hard ox blades or something. Yeah.
00:53:36
RICK JAMES
Yeah. And they're they're a little heavier, so going get little more down pressure or, you know, a little more, but they don't wear at all compared to, you know, factory ones are just junk. You know, they're just,
00:53:45
RICK JAMES
They just burn off so quick. these If you get an aftermark, you're like,
00:53:47
Todd Dickerson
Jeremy, they're not even painted green. So like, i don't understand.
00:53:51
RICK JAMES
yeah, those are the ones I'm talking about.
00:53:53
The SnowJobs Podcast
sleep
00:53:53
RICK JAMES
We got rid of those and I got some good ones on that don't wear out. so
00:53:58
The SnowJobs Podcast
Very cool. Anything else, Mikey?
00:54:02
Mike ODP
Nah, that's all I've heard for right now.
00:54:03
The SnowJobs Podcast
That's it.
00:54:04
Mike ODP
i mean, it's still early in the season. You never know.
00:54:06
The SnowJobs Podcast
That is true. That is true. The the season is young. What about you, Jay? What what do you guys got little your eye on? Anything good?
00:54:14
RICK JAMES
Nah, nah. Pretty much everything's status quo. you know We're going to have probably Razorbacks in the fleet like you know we've all been talking. so and they're you know Razorbacks, we've talked about them enough, but I'll talk about a little more.
00:54:28
RICK JAMES
They're they're just going to a good plow to use. they got you know It's an Arctic on a pickup. It turns your pickup into a compact loader, in my opinion.
00:54:35
The SnowJobs Podcast
hundred percent
00:54:36
RICK JAMES
and it its just um We're just to get a couple more, so so no no big deal.
00:54:36
Mike ODP
How many are you going to get
00:54:41
Todd Dickerson
as You do now?
00:54:42
RICK JAMES
not not i Not a big bunch, but
00:54:42
Todd Dickerson
You do now.
00:54:44
RICK JAMES
What's that? No, we don't even have that many pickups in our fleet. So the plows on our pickups are I just...
00:54:49
Mike ODP
get? That's why I was curious.
00:54:51
RICK JAMES
No, there's The one guy at his place kind of needs one just to... Where he's at. And then we'll get another one for another guy. But we don't... We're not going to...
00:55:01
RICK JAMES
They don't spend the night plowing our pickups. So, you know, I say the pickups on our plows are more for bumpers so they don't wreck the front of the pickup when they get hit or something. So...
00:55:11
RICK JAMES
if You can pull a plow off and everything should be fine, hopefully.
00:55:14
The SnowJobs Podcast
They're a decoration in North Dakota.
00:55:17
The SnowJobs Podcast
ah It's like a pusher, cow pusher.
00:55:18
RICK JAMES
Yeah. we we you know we're We're about machinery around here for most of We don't honestly have... We only have a couple subs that and all that bring pickups on just because they have them.
00:55:29
RICK JAMES
It's not something we really want to use because pickups don't do much.
00:55:32
The SnowJobs Podcast
And you can't put one on your truck, right, Jay?
00:55:34
RICK JAMES
I have a plow on my truck. yeah
00:55:36
The SnowJobs Podcast
But you can't put a Razorback.
00:55:36
RICK JAMES
not i Not a Razorback.
00:55:37
The SnowJobs Podcast
No, like they don't make a...
00:55:38
RICK JAMES
maybe Maybe one section. Maybe one section.
00:55:40
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yeah, I was going to say, they don't make a Ford Ranger now.
00:55:42
RICK JAMES
I got the baby. I got the baby figure. I go for comfort, man.
00:55:44
The SnowJobs Podcast
but but
00:55:46
Todd Dickerson
I was going to say that GMC can't hold Razorback, I'm sure.
00:55:46
The SnowJobs Podcast
Come on, the bigger trucks are comfortable.
00:55:53
The SnowJobs Podcast
Not the 1500.
00:55:54
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yeah.
00:55:54
RICK JAMES
no. Not the 1500. The three-quarter ton can, but...
00:56:00
The SnowJobs Podcast
yeah um
00:56:02
The SnowJobs Podcast
So those those are going for mid-16s out the door from a dealer.
00:56:02
RICK JAMES
And then, don't know. We'll see if...
00:56:07
RICK JAMES
Yeah. And then, um I guess, I mean, we looked at getting a couple 421s, but they weren't going to get here in time, so I didn't order them. But, yeah, those are going be nice units for, you know, Josh from Valley Green Putts.
00:56:20
RICK JAMES
He's got a couple on order, so he's got a couple coming, so.
00:56:22
The SnowJobs Podcast
Does he really? Well, I know they're limiting some of their biggest purchasers, that so they must be in demand if they got a they got to get so many of these out and they're limiting some of their biggest purchasers.
00:56:35
The SnowJobs Podcast
Those are going to run ah between 140 and 150, depending how equipped. cool. how theyre
00:56:40
RICK JAMES
Yeah, that's what i was told.
00:56:40
The SnowJobs Podcast
depending on how equipped
00:56:41
RICK JAMES
Yeah. That's what I was quoted. So, yeah.
00:56:45
The SnowJobs Podcast
very cool
00:56:45
Mike ODP
Jay, you're going to get any, more coming in.
00:56:50
The SnowJobs Podcast
Jay, do you use โ was any โ somebody commented. There was a comment saying that the โ what did they say? The 521s will push a 19?
00:57:00
The SnowJobs Podcast
Was that what the comment was?
00:57:01
RICK JAMES
i mean, yeah, it's not that.
00:57:03
The SnowJobs Podcast
That โ no.
00:57:03
RICK JAMES
we know We know who that was from.
00:57:05
The SnowJobs Podcast
But you weren't โ you didn't run any 19s in that video, right?
00:57:10
RICK JAMES
Yeah, we got four.
00:57:10
The SnowJobs Podcast
Like, they were all 17s? No, no, no.
00:57:12
RICK JAMES
We got in the video?
00:57:13
The SnowJobs Podcast
They were talking about Ardix episode. They were talking about Ardix episode of Storm Chasing.
00:57:15
RICK JAMES
Oh, or no, there wasn't enough there was no 19 on Arctic.
00:57:18
The SnowJobs Podcast
There were no 19s. No, I didn't think so.
00:57:20
RICK JAMES
There's probably some on there on their you know YouTube stock videos or something, but not not on we're Arctic.
00:57:25
The SnowJobs Podcast
but Yeah, not in that video.
00:57:27
RICK JAMES
Yeah, I was going to say that. It wasn't worth commenting on. so
00:57:30
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yeah, no, i was gonna i was just going to mention that. that like I don't know. i've watched that a couple times, and I didn't see any 19s on there.
00:57:38
RICK JAMES
Yeah, no, it's a, yeah, no.
00:57:39
Todd Dickerson
I just um i have that plan on a loop just constantly.
00:57:45
The SnowJobs Podcast
a good
00:57:46
The SnowJobs Podcast
There you go. Oh, man.
00:57:48
RICK JAMES
No, it's a, the 19s are good. I love them, but we got four in-house we'll run around with. But I mean, if I get a good deal in some, I'll definitely, I'm not afraid to pull the trigger. I got swats for them, so.
00:57:57
The SnowJobs Podcast
There you go.
00:57:59
The SnowJobs Podcast
So some listeners out there, some listeners wanted to let us know what they were they were interested in for the upcoming season.
00:58:07
The SnowJobs Podcast
So um let's see who we got. Rocco. Rocco. We saw Rocco in Buffalo last week. Rocco from Vision up in Buffalo. He bought two new Snow Power F-14s.
00:58:18
The SnowJobs Podcast
So he's looking forward to seeing what those can do.
00:58:19
RICK JAMES
Yeah, those will be good. Those will be good, Paul.
00:58:21
The SnowJobs Podcast
Those will be great for him. Multiple guys are saying Razorback, which we covered. One guy was talking about Top Gun, which we covered. A bunch of guys for the Case 421, which we covered.
00:58:34
The SnowJobs Podcast
um And a couple guys wanted to hear more about the Snow Power Backblade, the new one. So that was that's obviously out now. And the we got to see that at Storm with the Trip Edge.
00:58:46
The SnowJobs Podcast
So that was pretty cool.
00:58:47
RICK JAMES
Yep. Yeah, that'll be a good one. but good you know Rick.
00:58:51
The SnowJobs Podcast
ill definitely be I don't know what the price is on that.
00:58:51
RICK JAMES
It's Rick. He always makes it.
00:58:53
The SnowJobs Podcast
I don't know. I didn't i didn't get a price on that. What do you saying Was it $15 for non-trip and was it $18 for a trip?
00:58:56
RICK JAMES
He said it on a show. hes Yeah, he said it on a show.
00:59:02
RICK JAMES
I'd have to go back and listen to that.
00:59:02
The SnowJobs Podcast
Does sound right?
00:59:04
RICK JAMES
Yeah, was somewhere in there.
00:59:05
The SnowJobs Podcast
I'm in the ballpark.
00:59:05
RICK JAMES
I'm sure he'll correct us. Don't worry.
00:59:08
The SnowJobs Podcast
Or $10 and $15. I don't remember what it was. I don't remember. It was $10 and $15 or $15 and $18. It was somewhere in that ballpark, though.
00:59:16
The SnowJobs Podcast
We'll leave it vague.
00:59:18
RICK JAMES
We'll put a sale on for them.
00:59:20
Todd Dickerson
I was just
00:59:20
The SnowJobs Podcast
If it's right, you heard it here.
00:59:21
The SnowJobs Podcast
if we we're wrong, then we didn't say Yeah.
00:59:25
Todd Dickerson
not 9 to 12, or I mean, are we doing weather forecasts?
00:59:28
The SnowJobs Podcast
yeah Yeah, exactly.
00:59:29
Todd Dickerson
Are we doing price?
00:59:29
RICK JAMES
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:59:30
The SnowJobs Podcast
Exactly. Yeah, the weatherman, man.
00:59:33
RICK JAMES
Why can't we be wrong?
00:59:44
The SnowJobs Podcast
Oh, got to get it out there. Got to get it.
00:59:46
The SnowJobs Podcast
Got to hit it once. Let's see. What else do we have here? So as far as myself this year, it's interesting. In the last week or two, was able to track down that the thing we've mentioned probably no less than 10 times in the last two years on here, just basically begging for an OEM, any OEM or manufacturer, to take the Boss Quick Cube idea and actually make it feasible, make it actually work how it should, where you can control
01:00:17
The SnowJobs Podcast
rate and spread with while keeping your machine at full RPMs or full throttle. And apparently Vernig has done that. Vernig actually has it.
01:00:28
The SnowJobs Podcast
It's out there. It's the Vernig salt spreader. It's got a skid steer quick attach, just like the boss quick cube did that attachment. And then it's got a three quarter box.
01:00:39
The SnowJobs Podcast
It's a dual auger, dual spinner. design. it's all um It's all nickel-plated, all the the metal parts so for long life there.
01:00:50
The SnowJobs Podcast
ah No corrosion, very little corrosion. ah three quarter Like I said, three-quarter yard box, so that's pretty cool. It looks and sounds awesome, but Very excited about that.
01:01:03
The SnowJobs Podcast
I want to keep my eye on that.
Cost Analysis of Snow Equipment
01:01:05
The SnowJobs Podcast
The only downside is it is I did call for more information, and I spoke to ah their product specialist at Vernick, and the price tag has got to be adjusted a little bit. I've talked to multiple guys.
01:01:18
The SnowJobs Podcast
so I'm just saying, like, the Boss one when it came out was like $2,100 for the attachment, and then I think the boxes, even in their heyday when they were actually trying to push it, I think the boxes were $450 max.
01:01:30
The SnowJobs Podcast
When we got those, and the Vernege a little bit higher. It's like 7,800 for the attachment and 2,500 per
01:01:41
The SnowJobs Podcast
So I'm like, it's an awesome idea, but if I need five boxes, that's 12-5 right there with the 70-something hundred. I'm in for 20 grand for one machine, one setup. like i just I think they've got to figure out how to come down a little because I talked to like eight other guys that I know want this too, and not not one of them said we could swing it because the whole reason would be to get multiple boxes, and the boxes are just too expensive.
01:02:07
The SnowJobs Podcast
I can pay eight grand for the attachment. No problem. The box is if I need multiple, forget
01:02:10
Mike ODP
You know what the difference is here, Steve? I'm looking at it online right now. is a really beefy unit. The only nice thing I can see here is it's bucket width. So if you take this thing off and stick your bucket back on and you're loading into a salt pile or something, you can load this here yourself pretty quickly.
01:02:26
RICK JAMES
You can reload it.
01:02:27
The SnowJobs Podcast
hundred percent 100%.
01:02:28
The SnowJobs Podcast
And that's the same thing we used to do with the QuickCube boxes. We'd put two side by side, and you'd literally take one bucket with and dump into it.
01:02:35
The SnowJobs Podcast
um So, yeah, no, it's a brilliant design. They really thought of everything. They did their homework. They did it. its It's burning, so you know it's built like a tank. You know, they don't they don't screw around. They make everything top quality.
01:02:48
The SnowJobs Podcast
It's just like I said, those roto molded boxes. They there's got to be something they got to come down because the whole point of doing something like this would be to have multiple boxes along your route and be able to, you know, salt all these properties or one big property with one machine that you already have there and not need a salt truck.
01:03:05
The SnowJobs Podcast
But for twenty five hundred a box. that that's not cheap. That's, you know, that's steep.
01:03:11
The SnowJobs Podcast
You know, you're only getting three quarters of a yard. So it's, you know, I don't know. I think they got to adjust that a little bit.
Excitement Around New Snow Gear
01:03:20
The SnowJobs Podcast
Um, The other thing I'm looking forward to trying, I'm looking forward to trying out two things this year. One is my Razorback that Arctic killed all my snow last year as soon as they sent it. As soon as that Arctic truck pulled in, but we were literally the next morning after our last event, and we had more snow on the horizon. As soon as that Razorback pulled hold in, the weather said, no, no, we're we're done.
01:03:44
The SnowJobs Podcast
We're not giving you another flake all year.
01:03:46
The SnowJobs Podcast
That was it.
01:03:46
RICK JAMES
Did she get something else too that killed it?
01:03:48
RICK JAMES
Wasn't it just Razorback or was it something else? Muscox?
01:03:51
The SnowJobs Podcast
ah Well, the Muscox showed up later that afternoon.
01:03:51
RICK JAMES
Didn't they send me something?
01:03:55
The SnowJobs Podcast
Muscox's new blower showed up. So neither one of those was I able to try out. And that really sucks because the Muscox isn't.
01:04:03
The SnowJobs Podcast
i mean, that always looked like an angry bitch. That thing is nasty looking and it sounds nasty when it's running. It's awesome. But that new one looks seriously angry.
01:04:13
The SnowJobs Podcast
like that Seriously, that is an angry looking snowblower.
01:04:16
The SnowJobs Podcast
I can't wait to see that thing in action and see all the improvements they made on it. Because the the first version, Gen 1, was damn freaking good. And that's that's worked without ah without a shadow of a doubt for us, exactly what we expected from it and more.
01:04:31
The SnowJobs Podcast
The durability's been there. My guys are not easy on this thing. They are hitting curbs with it the little two-inch, three-inch raised curbs. They're bashing the thing in there left and right, and that thing is just laughing at it and keep going.
01:04:43
The SnowJobs Podcast
So I'm very excited to see what the the new and improved version will do. I'm definitely going to run that for at least the first storm just ah just to see, get a feel for it.
01:04:55
The SnowJobs Podcast
But yeah, that's ah the the only other thing I'm really interested in keeping an eye on um is the the wolf loaders because that will solve a serious problem for guys like me and my size and my financial position.
01:05:08
The SnowJobs Podcast
Adding compact loaders for the price of a skid steer, I'm all in. Like if that thing will hold up, I will definitely, I will be the first guy to own one.
01:05:17
The SnowJobs Podcast
Give me my jet black one and I'll letter her it up and and and we'll go from there.
01:05:23
RICK JAMES
Yeah, Harry's โ think they got something there, so.
01:05:25
The SnowJobs Podcast
I just told Harry, you got to get one of these dead but by a thousand hours, 800 to a thousand hours, beat the balls off it. And if the thing don't fall apart, you got something, you got a winner.
01:05:36
The SnowJobs Podcast
Like, let's go.
01:05:39
RICK JAMES
Yeah, definitely.
01:05:40
The SnowJobs Podcast
but are you You're literally half the price of another 74 horse loader in any brand.
01:05:43
RICK JAMES
ah Yeah, I mean, I โ
01:05:46
RICK JAMES
I think if he, yeah, like you said, if he stands up to what needs to stand up to, there's quite a few guys that'll take the chance on it. So, please.
01:05:54
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yeah. I mean, even if even if everything goes to shit, you can sell you can rip that Cummins out and sell that for $10,000.
01:06:02
The SnowJobs Podcast
It's like, you know, Cummins don't go bad. Those things always work. So that's โ
01:06:07
Todd Dickerson
i guess I guess the way they can keep their numbers down is not having the support structure. But if they could somehow have little bit of support in different areas, that would make them so much more marketable.
01:06:19
The SnowJobs Podcast
Oh, 100%. And I mean, they they got it you got to crawl before you walk, and they're just trying to set it up, get a footprint.
01:06:25
The SnowJobs Podcast
And if they take off in the next two to three years, you're going see dealers out there. You know, the Harry and ah and Aaron, they they they have the distributorship for it, so they're going to control, you know, where the dealers pop up and where there's a need for them. but The really cool thing is that the difference between them and anything else out there right now is you can fix all these things.
01:06:45
The SnowJobs Podcast
Anything on there, you can fix with a wrench. Like it's 25-year-old technology that basically you don't need a code reader type deal. You know, you don't need any of that crap.
01:06:55
The SnowJobs Podcast
So it's, you know, if you're mechanically inclined, you can fix it.
01:06:57
RICK JAMES
and the And like Harry, like we talked, with they they're actually but giving them input and they said they can change some things. if you know Hopefully, a couple little things we were talking about, maybe they can get them to change it a little bit.
01:07:11
RICK JAMES
And if it happens, it happens. But at least they're listening, I guess. So that's good.
01:07:14
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yep.
Challenges with Parts Availability for Chinese Brands
01:07:15
The SnowJobs Podcast
And I was able to confirm they do have block heaters. They have plug-in block heaters, and they can put the solar panel trickle charger on the roof for guys that were asking that.
01:07:25
The SnowJobs Podcast
So we did find that out that information. And the suit, like Jeremy said, the OEM over there in China, they're listening to them where Harry said they already talked to him about the six-inch lip on the the door, and they're going to remove that in the next run.
01:07:39
The SnowJobs Podcast
Like they're going to just redesign that cab door and do, done, boom.
01:07:43
The SnowJobs Podcast
So that's that's cool that they have that kind of responsiveness that they can do that.
01:07:49
The SnowJobs Podcast
65 grand with snow tires. like i've Like I said, I've blown more money on less fucking shirt things. I would like to see if XCMG actually gets there. They they were supposed to have a compact loader by this winter, right, here?
01:08:03
RICK JAMES
I heard that, yeah.
01:08:03
Mike ODP
They were, yeah.
01:08:04
The SnowJobs Podcast
I haven't seen it yet.
01:08:07
The SnowJobs Podcast
So. I don't know. haven't seen it out there. No advertising about it. So, I mean, outside of those two, you're in the $130,000 range loader.
01:08:18
The SnowJobs Podcast
yeah.
01:08:18
Todd Dickerson
Two for one, maybe two for one. I think there's one of them.
01:08:21
The SnowJobs Podcast
but's apple yeah two for one hundred percent
01:08:24
Todd Dickerson
though There's a company called SDLG, and they're based on a Volvo platform.
01:08:27
The SnowJobs Podcast
yeah yeah
01:08:30
Todd Dickerson
So they're kind of, I guess, would be a similar comparison of each unit's.
01:08:34
The SnowJobs Podcast
they The SDLG, they were they were like the first kind of, I don't want to knockoff, but that's kind of like the Chinese loaders.
01:08:42
The SnowJobs Podcast
They were kind of like the first brand that gained any traction. And
Networking and Collaboration Culture
01:08:46
The SnowJobs Podcast
they were great until they broke.
01:08:48
The SnowJobs Podcast
And then the parts support was nonexistent. They couldn't get parts for them. I knew a couple of guys that had them upstate doing a college. And once once something broke on and they had a very tough time, depending on what the part was, getting parts for them.
01:09:01
The SnowJobs Podcast
I don't even know if they're still around. Are they still ah they still selling them here?
01:09:05
Todd Dickerson
and I don't know.
01:09:06
RICK JAMES
I haven't seen them for a while.
01:09:06
Todd Dickerson
went to an auction the other day and i saw a couple of and I was just too nervous to pull the trigger.
01:09:12
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yeah, I would not. I would hold off at this point. I haven't heard of them in in a couple years now. I didn't even know they were still around or making them. But, yeah, the Volvo, they were attached to Volvo somehow, but I don't think the support was there.
01:09:30
The SnowJobs Podcast
So what else? What else do we have here? we covered the Razorback. Everybody wanted to hear that. Covered the Vernick salt spreader. We'll keep an eye on that. see if See if they get the price down on those boxes to where it's affordable.
01:09:45
The SnowJobs Podcast
What else, Jay? What am forgetting?

I'll take two of those, three of these. Give me a box of them naked lady tees. Yeah.
01:12:30
Todd Dickerson
He is the postage child for Jersey. Like when I picture a Jersey dude, when he walks, like, when I open the Webster's dictionary, his picture's there.

01:13:08
The SnowJobs Podcast
That's it. That is it. He is South Jersey.
01:13:12
The SnowJobs Podcast
Oh, man. You know what? Let's hit some commercials real quick. I just remembered a couple more a couple more products that guys wanted to hear about. So we'll hit some commercials. We'll come right back with these guys and keep going.
01:14:14
The SnowJobs Podcast
All right, guys, we are back. Back with the boys. um The one thing I forgot, Jay, that I remembered from Storm Day was seeing View's views new redesigned camera.
01:14:25
RICK JAMES
Oh, yeah. Yeah, that was...
01:14:27
The SnowJobs Podcast
That looked cool. It's definitely evolving.
01:14:28
RICK JAMES
Yeah, that's definitely...
01:14:29
The SnowJobs Podcast
Good for them. lot of guys interested lot of guys interested in the View for that price point.
01:14:35
RICK JAMES
Yeah, they had a pretty busy booth as well over there. see that that was
01:14:38
The SnowJobs Podcast
They definitely did
01:14:40
RICK JAMES
Yeah, those guys, they got something good going there. Yeah.
01:14:42
The SnowJobs Podcast
And not to, I mean, that's that's the cool thing about Storm is every we already said it. Like, all those vendors had traction. Like, they had actual serious conversations with guys that were out there.
01:14:55
The SnowJobs Podcast
So it was pretty cool. Pretty cool for sure. um So, yeah, Vue, that was, we had three guys asking about the Vue. um Anything new in liquids? Nothing is new in liquids except the price increases.
01:15:11
The SnowJobs Podcast
so about it. I don't i don't think it's VSI.
01:15:14
RICK JAMES
That's not new. That's not new either. just goes up every year.
01:15:16
The SnowJobs Podcast
Exactly. Has VSI released anything I missed in the last year? I don't think so.
01:15:20
RICK JAMES
Not that I'm aware of, so I haven't heard.
01:15:21
The SnowJobs Podcast
melanie ah they i mean They kind of did. Didn't they? VSI released the for the the Snow Raider mag. They released a big brine tank for that.
01:15:32
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yeah, I think they did that.
01:15:35
The SnowJobs Podcast
What? That's cool. All right. Anybody got anything else? Any other products or anything we want to keep an eye on? Let everybody out there know about.
01:15:45
Todd Dickerson
No, not really. I did hear a couple episodes ago where you guys were talking about the brine and how if we could just get a, I'll say a ah entry model or keep it simple, stupid, you know.
01:15:46
RICK JAMES
I don't think so. I think it's...
01:16:02
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yeah.
01:16:03
Todd Dickerson
you know it's going there eventually, like we talked about earlier, right? With the salt control and all that.
Future of Snow Management with Brine Solutions
01:16:09
Todd Dickerson
like We're going to have to go liquids here eventually. So I think if they could get out in front of that, that would be huge of just an entry-level brine sprayer.
01:16:21
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yeah, I think i think if you if you could, like if you're in your in whatever area you're in and you want to get into brine, but you're a small guy, you're a ah smaller to medium-sized guy, and you just can't afford, you know, $100,000 in CapEx to get a brine maker, all the piping, all the tanks, all the additive storage, and one spray unit.
01:16:43
The SnowJobs Podcast
if you If you want to get into it, see if there's other companies in your area. This is why we network. This is why you make contacts and you โ you You know, you help each other and you talk about this stuff. If you get five or six guys together and you say, OK, listen, this is how much it's going to cost for this much storage. And somebody is going to have the brine maker and you'll be responsible for making brine for all five of us.
01:17:05
The SnowJobs Podcast
It becomes a lot more affordable. You know, but because in my area, I would get into brine.
01:17:10
The SnowJobs Podcast
If I just had somebody in the area that actually made good brine, quality brine, and sold it for reasonable price, I'd outfit a truck with a sprayer. But there's no infrastructure here.
01:17:19
The SnowJobs Podcast
Nobody uses it here. It's all of
01:17:21
Todd Dickerson
So, you know, it's funny, Kyle and I have bunch of buddies that are in this, on a smaller market, you know, but they call us every year and they're like, hey, you know, we want to try this brine stuff and we just give it to them.
01:17:33
Todd Dickerson
We're like, hey, get a tank set up, we'll deliver it to you you try it out, you know, like, ah this is the way you got to go. And almost every year, they're like, we're so glad we did this.
01:17:45
Todd Dickerson
Like, it's paying huge things.
01:17:46
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yeah. I believe it. I believe it. I would love to i would love to do it. i just like Like Jordan said on the one episode, until somebody starts making it a price that you can take a flyer on, it's just not I don't think it's going to gain wide traction, especially when now you have two granular options to track your material that are this cheap.
01:18:09
The SnowJobs Podcast
And it's it's a box spreader you already have, basically, some of us.
01:18:13
Todd Dickerson
So the and next time you come down and see your boy Jimmy for,
01:18:13
The SnowJobs Podcast
So it's great.
01:18:18
The SnowJobs Podcast
All for the vent track? Yeah.
01:18:20
Todd Dickerson
yeah we'll just throw a couple of totes in the back of your truck and, you know, let you take them back and test them out. Yeah. Yeah.
01:18:27
The SnowJobs Podcast
Now, you guys run straight brine or you put an additive in?
01:18:31
Todd Dickerson
We're using clear lane, um but we we don't use a lot of it.
01:18:33
The SnowJobs Podcast
OK. Yeah, I know clearly.
01:18:37
Todd Dickerson
um We monitor temperatures with that more than we really use it a lot, but but no, no, it's clear.
01:18:42
The SnowJobs Podcast
Does it make your brine green? No?
01:18:46
Todd Dickerson
It's clear.
01:18:48
The SnowJobs Podcast
But clearly and clearly in the salt, the treated salt is green, correct?
01:18:52
Todd Dickerson
Yep. Correct.
01:18:53
The SnowJobs Podcast
So what, they added dye?
01:18:53
RICK JAMES
Treat it as you know.
01:18:54
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yeah, they just added dye to it.
01:18:55
RICK JAMES
Yeah, just to die. Just to die.
01:18:57
Todd Dickerson
Yeah, I think they do that so that people tell you know can tell it's not regular rock salt or untreated, I guess I should say.
01:18:57
The SnowJobs Podcast
Just to make it pretty.
01:19:02
The SnowJobs Podcast
Sure.
01:19:03
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yep. yeah just to make it pretty
01:19:06
Todd Dickerson
Yeah, exactly. And I mean, honestly, that was what I was going to say is the optics.
01:19:06
The SnowJobs Podcast
cool
01:19:10
Todd Dickerson
So that's a challenge. When you have like some of these older people that are managing some of these contracts that aren't familiar with the new stuff, they want to see, and but God bless them, but they want to see a beach on the property.
01:19:24
Todd Dickerson
And you're fighting...
01:19:24
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yeah.
01:19:26
The SnowJobs Podcast
They want to feel the crunch.
01:19:29
Todd Dickerson
You're fighting environmental concern because every every contract says you got to be environmentally responsible, right?
01:19:30
RICK JAMES
so It's so old school.
01:19:36
Todd Dickerson
So you're trying but you're trying to do that.
01:19:36
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yep.
01:19:38
Todd Dickerson
But then the same time, they're like, well, got to put more material down. And I'm like, well, hey, I mean, you need to document that because... It's just a CYA on everything we do, this whole industry.
01:19:47
The SnowJobs Podcast
Sure. 100%. hundred percent
01:19:51
Todd Dickerson
But again, you're fighting the old cadre who they want to see. It's all optics, right? Because when those people walk in the building and go, we they haven't even sold this place.
01:20:02
Todd Dickerson
If you brine, it's it's all treated, but they don't know that because nobody knows it. So there's education when you get into this into this world, there is some education that goes along with to ensure your customers
01:20:15
Todd Dickerson
Not to speak your own.
01:20:16
The SnowJobs Podcast
Absolutely.
01:20:16
Mike ODP
and And those property managers are retiring and fading out at a pretty quick rate right now. So unfortunately, they're the old guy that you know remembers all the lawsuits back in the day from ah improper salting. So I understand where they're coming from. But yeah, the the education definitely goes a long way. Or just, you know hey, here's some signs to put in your front door or in your parking lot. Brian and use, no granular use. It Just anything so people can feel safe when they walk across these lots or these walkways and they don't see it, they don't feel it, but it's working.
01:20:50
The SnowJobs Podcast
Absolutely. You're right. Good points.
01:20:53
The SnowJobs Podcast
Very good points. are we Are we seeing anybody at S&S? Anybody making the trip to Taylor, Pennsylvania there?
01:21:01
The SnowJobs Podcast
There is a casino there, Todd, five minutes away. Got a Ruth, Chris, and everything.
01:21:06
Mike ODP
He's already there.
01:21:06
Todd Dickerson
Honestly, I was going to ask you guys, like, I'm thinking about maybe possibly sending a couple guys up to Stork for that snow day. Send a
01:21:17
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yeah, I'll be there.
01:21:18
The SnowJobs Podcast
I'm definitely going. I might have one or two of my guys, but I'm going to go right from Storks to there.
01:21:20
Todd Dickerson
and a couple of our supervisors so that you know our mechanics are always in high demand during an event and if couple our supervisors at least could be knowledgeable right on hey this is what's wrong this is what's hard i need that you know at least it helps our mechanics out when that oh shit button is hit right like
01:21:33
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yeah. 100%.
01:21:34
RICK JAMES
what What to look for.
01:21:42
The SnowJobs Podcast
hundred percent
01:21:43
Todd Dickerson
yeah know So I'm going to talk to Kyle about that when we get off here. But if the dates work out, we might send a handful of guys up there just to enjoy the day and get some training and again, you know, network a little bit. And, you know, did it can only help. It can't hurt.
01:22:01
The SnowJobs Podcast
Absolutely.
01:22:02
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yeah, if you're going to do it, just ah like you said, register quick because there were only 30.
01:22:06
The SnowJobs Podcast
They're limiting it to 50. There's only 36 spots left as of this morning and well as of Thursday morning because you're hearing this on Monday, everybody. But, yeah, they even give you a diagram book, of like the wiring diagrams and stuff and how to troubleshoot everything.
01:22:19
The SnowJobs Podcast
So, like, they're really theyre really going above and beyond.
01:22:22
The SnowJobs Podcast
I mean, it's not helping their service, you know, with it.
01:22:26
The SnowJobs Podcast
Because they're teaching you how to solve it yourself. But I'll tell you, if you need a Douglas part, you call Storks and you'll have it by morning of the next day. It's incredible. They have everything.
01:22:37
The SnowJobs Podcast
I was shocked. they had a They had a module for a 2014 spreader that went bad last year. He's like, yeah, got it. I thought the whole thing was going be shot, shit piled, because, oh, no, we don't still make parts for that.
01:22:50
The SnowJobs Podcast
Nope, Storks had it. My local guy didn't have it.
01:22:51
Todd Dickerson
Yeah. Yeah. Well, that we, we have a great local guy too.
01:22:54
Mike ODP
Might be his last one.
01:22:58
Todd Dickerson
So like, I get it, you know, and thankfully he he is local and to the point of where Kyle and I even have a key to his showroom and can go in there anytime and just leave a note and what you took.
01:22:59
The SnowJobs Podcast
Sweet.
01:23:11
Todd Dickerson
So, but support supports what it's all about.
01:23:13
The SnowJobs Podcast
Nice.
01:23:15
Todd Dickerson
Like, yeah.
01:23:16
The SnowJobs Podcast
That is 100%.
01:23:16
RICK JAMES
Oh yeah, definitely.
01:23:19
The SnowJobs Podcast
100%.
01:23:20
Todd Dickerson
Price is long for now.
01:23:21
The SnowJobs Podcast
Well, if you if you make it up there, let us know. So we'll ah all we take you to dinner with us at the casino. You don't have to gamble.
01:23:30
Todd Dickerson
Yeah, right. Well, well i'll so I'll send the first responders this time. Maybe that. Maybe that.
01:23:34
The SnowJobs Podcast
All right.
01:23:36
The SnowJobs Podcast
Sounds good. Let us know who's coming. But, yeah, it's ah it's a good day. It's a good couple of days. The Storks event is great. The SNS event last year was was really good. That was like pure networking last year.
01:23:47
The SnowJobs Podcast
Pure networking, food and drinks.
01:23:50
The SnowJobs Podcast
That's that's all it was. It was awesome.
01:23:52
The SnowJobs Podcast
The insurance guy, we beat up an insurance guy for a while. Then we beat up the weather guy for a while. yeah it was a lot of fun. We had a good to Everybody had a good day.
01:23:59
Todd Dickerson
Sorry, I missed that.
01:24:00
RICK JAMES
It's great there.
01:24:01
Todd Dickerson
if we could just throw
01:24:01
The SnowJobs Podcast
It was a lot of fun.
01:24:02
Todd Dickerson
If we could just throw an attorney in there, it'd be the trifecta.
01:24:06
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yeah, there was nobody from legal.
01:24:08
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yeah, no they didn't have any legal guys, but they did have insurance rep and they had the weather pros there. So we were having fun giving it to them and they were, they were giving it right back. So was good, but
01:24:18
Todd Dickerson
Nice, awesome.
01:24:19
The SnowJobs Podcast
Yeah, I think that's that's all we got. Anybody got anything else?
01:24:25
Todd Dickerson
I don't think so.
01:24:26
Mike ODP
I think we're good.
01:24:26
The SnowJobs Podcast
alright
01:24:28
The SnowJobs Podcast
All right. Kyle, I'm glad you came in and joined us, man. It's good to see you. Good to have you on board.
01:24:32
Todd Dickerson
Yeah, I just had to look at the boys again.
01:24:34
RICK JAMES
the boat was leaving.
01:24:36
The SnowJobs Podcast
Absolutely. Yeah, he jumped on the boat as it was pulling out. You you guys can't see it right now, but Todd has a backdrop of the ah the back of his fishing boat that he's sitting in.
01:24:45
The SnowJobs Podcast
Makes look like he's on the boat. So, yeah.
01:24:48
The SnowJobs Podcast
Top doggies in the house. Thanks for coming on with us, boys. We know you're busy. What game are you guys watching?
01:24:56
Todd Dickerson
I'm watching you guys and I'm sitting here. yeah
01:25:01
Todd Dickerson
Let's wrap this thing up so I can start, you know, cheering on a kid that we coach.
01:25:05
Todd Dickerson
It's the running back for the Badgers right now. So, yeah.
01:25:08
The SnowJobs Podcast
What, Wisconsin?
01:25:10
Todd Dickerson
Yeah. Dylan.
01:25:11
The SnowJobs Podcast
Oh, cool. Who are they playing?
01:25:13
Todd Dickerson
Yeah. Honestly, I don't know.
01:25:15
The SnowJobs Podcast
Who are they playing? Oh, all right.
01:25:15
Todd Dickerson
And I just see myself going crazy with text about how, how he's playing. So.
01:25:21
The SnowJobs Podcast
That's cool. That's really cool.
01:25:22
Todd Dickerson
Yeah. Yeah.
01:25:24
The SnowJobs Podcast
Good for him. Mike, thank the missus for not letting yeah our podcast interfere with her chores.
01:25:31
The SnowJobs Podcast
i heard her banging pots and all sorts of stuff. How's everybody doing? Everybody's good?
01:25:38
Mike ODP
Yeah, she's good. She, she rushed in here with the brown bag of Friendly's because it's her latest craving now. So yeah, I'm going to make my way to the freezer after this.
01:25:44
The SnowJobs Podcast
Oh, friendlies. Nice. Jim Dandy or ah Jim Dandy or Reese's Pieces Sunday?
01:25:52
Mike ODP
Reese's for her, just a big old bucket of mint chip for me.
01:25:55
The SnowJobs Podcast
Nice. Well, you got you got your cravings too. you know It's a shared experience. You got to do it.
01:26:00
Mike ODP
Yeah, that's right.
01:26:00
The SnowJobs Podcast
That's it.
01:26:01
Mike ODP
um I'm supporting her. We're in this together.
01:26:04
The SnowJobs Podcast
That's it. Nobody wants to eat ice cream by themselves. You got to be a good husband. That's great.
01:26:10
The SnowJobs Podcast
All right. Good enough. Jay, you got anything else or I'll let these boys go?
01:26:13
RICK JAMES

01:26:14
