Introduction to Spec Season and Episode Theme

00:00:01
Speaker
Hello, it's the most wonderful time of the year because spec season is officially here.
00:00:06
Speaker
Welcome to our March episode of Thrills, Chills, and Spills, where we spill the tea on all things theme parks, special events, and especially spooky season.
00:00:14
Speaker
I am Kelly.
00:00:15
Speaker
I'm Joey.
00:00:17
Speaker
And I'm Tyler.
00:00:19
Speaker
Okay, it's been a little while since we've talked.
00:00:22
Speaker
A lot of things have happened.
00:00:24
Speaker
We've done things.
00:00:25
Speaker
There's a spec map.
00:00:27
Speaker
We're going to get into

Lagoon Trip Planning and Rescheduling

00:00:28
Speaker
all of it.
00:00:28
Speaker
First, we're going to start with our spills and I have a quick one.
00:00:32
Speaker
So we were planning to take an opening day trip to Lagoon, myself, Tom and Joey and Craig and none of us.
00:00:43
Speaker
Well, I guess Tom has been, but we have never been to Lagoon.
00:00:46
Speaker
So we were excited to get some new creds and check it out.
00:00:49
Speaker
and purchase flights and they decided to move their opening day back a week for weather which was kind of a big bummer but it let us do other fun things instead which we'll talk about in a little bit that's my spell it happened like four hours before we could cancel the hotel for free
00:01:07
Speaker
yeah that was great oh my gosh this was like just a bummer and we also had found a discount code for the tickets and like we're about to buy those too and we just thank god we didn't yeah i know because they were only valid for like the first couple weekends if we had bought them like we wouldn't have been able to use them later in the season so yeah thanks yeah it was a little bit of a bummer for like
00:01:30
Speaker
a couple of hours until we shifted to plans.
00:01:34
Speaker
Yes.
00:01:34
Speaker
The shift was wild.
00:01:37
Speaker
I was mad at first because I'd been like monitoring the weather up until that trip and it looked like it was getting nicer and nicer honestly for the day that we were going to be there.
00:01:44
Speaker
It said like for a while it was saying rain and snow like Utah things but then it was looking like sunny and 50s and I was like yes this looks great so I was surprised but I guess they had had snow during the week so.
00:01:57
Speaker
Yeah.
00:01:58
Speaker
I just kind of gave up, I think.
00:01:59
Speaker
Joey, I'm surprised you've never been there.
00:02:02
Speaker
Yeah.
00:02:03
Speaker
It's one of the last parks that I have with a large amount of creds remaining in the U.S. at least.
00:02:09
Speaker
Yeah.
00:02:10
Speaker
I think there's like 11 there or something like that.
00:02:12
Speaker
Yeah.
00:02:12
Speaker
10 or 11, something like that.
00:02:13
Speaker
Yeah.
00:02:14
Speaker
Like Silverwood was one of the last ones that I had too.
00:02:17
Speaker
And I got that last year.
00:02:18
Speaker
So it's really like kind of the last major park that I need to visit.
00:02:22
Speaker
So I was excited to go and
00:02:24
Speaker
Maybe we'll try to still go this year.
00:02:26
Speaker
We'll see.
00:02:26
Speaker
Yeah, I was gonna ask if you guys are gonna replan that TBD.

Epic Universe Preview and Attractions

00:02:31
Speaker
Yeah, TBD is just a lot of full weekends already kind of hard to find a good time.
00:02:37
Speaker
Maybe.
00:02:37
Speaker
Eventually.
00:02:41
Speaker
Joey, what's your spell?
00:02:44
Speaker
So mine is this past Saturday, I was at Epic Universe for the team member preview.
00:02:51
Speaker
Thanks, Craig.
00:02:54
Speaker
It was very limited availability.
00:02:57
Speaker
Basically, each team member at the time was getting three tickets to use for their close family members and friends.
00:03:03
Speaker
And I was lucky enough to get invited to that.
00:03:06
Speaker
So that was a very, very interesting day, not without its stress.
00:03:11
Speaker
The attraction availability was a bit of a struggle.
00:03:15
Speaker
There was at one point during the day, I think they have like 11, 13 attractions.
00:03:20
Speaker
And at one point during the day, there was only like five operating.
00:03:24
Speaker
So the queues were kind of all spilling over in the places that things were operating.
00:03:27
Speaker
And it was a challenge to try to get things in.
00:03:32
Speaker
um but we kind of saved by the bell because during the last hour two of the roller coasters that have been closed all day opened back up and we managed to run from one to the other and get them both um so that was good stardust racers is a lot of fun um i am not currently convinced that it is better than veloci coaster uh we shall see i definitely need more rides because i only got one ride on each side um and it's kind of hard to judge i feel like
00:03:56
Speaker
based on that but my initial impression was not that it's better than Velocicoaster very good and the dueling aspect is super fun but yeah I'm not sure yet I feel like that's what I've heard most of in general from people that have ridden both which is not a ton but yeah I think it's on the same level though it's crazy
00:04:19
Speaker
Yeah, it has some standout moments for sure.
00:04:21
Speaker
I think it just doesn't necessarily sustain that throughout.
00:04:24
Speaker
And then part of the experience of Velocicoaster is the queue and kind of the build up to it and the theming and the paddock and everything.
00:04:31
Speaker
And Stardust doesn't really have that.
00:04:33
Speaker
You kind of have the launch tunnel.
00:04:36
Speaker
But beyond that, there's not really any surprises.
00:04:38
Speaker
It's just kind of a layout in a field.
00:04:40
Speaker
So the main visual...
00:04:42
Speaker
element of it is the dueling itself.
00:04:45
Speaker
That being said, the park was only open till 7pm on that day.
00:04:48
Speaker
So I do feel like a night ride on that could be next level, because the trains are really cool.
00:04:54
Speaker
And the lighting on the trains is nice.
00:04:56
Speaker
So I'm excited to see
00:04:58
Speaker
what that could be like.
00:04:59
Speaker
Um, some of the previews that just got released in the next couple of weeks are going to be later into the night.
00:05:06
Speaker
Um, they're going to have some 10 PM closes coming up.
00:05:09
Speaker
So we'll definitely be hearing probably some more from people about, uh, what the park is like at night.
00:05:15
Speaker
Um,
00:05:16
Speaker
the last queue that we got into, we got into at 6.50 and it was almost a 90 minute queue for Werewolf.
00:05:23
Speaker
So we were lucky in a way, not that we had to wait that long for it.
00:05:28
Speaker
We did get a really good ride on it actually.
00:05:31
Speaker
But on the way out, obviously it had gotten a little bit later and it got darker out.
00:05:35
Speaker
So we got to walk through Dark Universe kind of with the lighting and we got to walk through Celestial Park with the lighting going.
00:05:41
Speaker
And that made a massive difference, in my opinion, on the park.
00:05:47
Speaker
Celestial Park was a bit underwhelming during the day, but at night it definitely shines.
00:05:51
Speaker
I really, really hope that during regular operation they have enough nighttime hours to
00:05:57
Speaker
Because the other universal parks tend to close at, you know, seven, eight, nine sometimes.
00:06:02
Speaker
And that's not enough time to really experience that park at its peak.
00:06:08
Speaker
So I'm really, really curious to see what the public hours are going to be once that comes out.
00:06:12
Speaker
And I hope that they are weighted towards getting some night hours in there.
00:06:17
Speaker
And if you've seen any of the pictures like of that Bayou has been taking overnight,
00:06:22
Speaker
you can tell that the park is really designed to shine at night.
00:06:25
Speaker
Like it has so much lighting all over it.
00:06:28
Speaker
So I'm curious to see how that goes.
00:06:30
Speaker
But yeah, it was very,
00:06:34
Speaker
I came into it kind of being under hyped because I had seen so much hype.
00:06:39
Speaker
I was like, this can't be real.
00:06:41
Speaker
And I did come out of it feeling like kind of it met my expectations.
00:06:46
Speaker
Didn't really exceed them because of that, because I had tempered my expectations.
00:06:50
Speaker
So I would encourage people not to be over hyped about it.
00:06:53
Speaker
It is a theme park.
00:06:55
Speaker
And it's not like, you know, the most magical place in the world or anything.
00:06:58
Speaker
And there obviously can be things that happen throughout the day that are a struggle.
00:07:02
Speaker
But the theming is very well executed.
00:07:04
Speaker
I know that TDR Mike is probably going to cry when he walks into Isle Burke because it's very well executed.
00:07:12
Speaker
And I got a little bit giddy when I walked into Dark Universe and I mentioned to Craig how Kelly was going to love this because when you first walk in that portal...
00:07:21
Speaker
you're like, oh, yes, it's spooky.
00:07:23
Speaker
We love this.
00:07:25
Speaker
Yeah.
00:07:25
Speaker
And walking out to it at the end of the night when it was dark there, I was like, oh, yeah, this is this is a great vibe here.
00:07:30
Speaker
This Kelly's going to love this.
00:07:33
Speaker
So I'm excited for more people to get to experience it.
00:07:36
Speaker
But also hoping that over the next two months, the park continues to evolve because it is
00:07:42
Speaker
not quite there, which we knew.
00:07:44
Speaker
It's a preview.
00:07:45
Speaker
I'm not calling them out for that in any way.
00:07:46
Speaker
They are two months away from the public opening, and it doesn't need to be ready yet.
00:07:51
Speaker
But I'm excited to see it continue to evolve, for sure.
00:07:53
Speaker
Do you feel like it's a little less magical now that you saw it in progress, where everything's not finished, all the effects aren't done, you didn't get to see all the cues?

Theme Park Ride Opening Updates

00:08:04
Speaker
Do you think it's going to ruin any of the experiences when you go?
00:08:07
Speaker
Not really.
00:08:08
Speaker
Not really.
00:08:09
Speaker
I mean, the good thing was like the two of the rides that I didn't get to experience the dark rides, I didn't do the queues for those.
00:08:15
Speaker
So my experience for those is completely unspoiled.
00:08:18
Speaker
And I kind of appreciate that.
00:08:20
Speaker
I had heard that some people had been able to walk the queue of Ministry of Magic on other previous days, but it was closed for us.
00:08:26
Speaker
So when I go back, I'll be able to experience monsters and the ministry ride, in theory, if it opens for the first time, like the full experience.
00:08:36
Speaker
And that'll be really cool.
00:08:38
Speaker
Um, but in terms of the like unfinished parts, it's, it's not a huge amount of things.
00:08:45
Speaker
It's more like minor stuff.
00:08:46
Speaker
So I don't really think that that had a huge impact.
00:08:48
Speaker
Like the theming is largely completely done.
00:08:50
Speaker
And that's really where the park shines, I think.
00:08:54
Speaker
Um, and everybody's going to have different tastes about what they like best.
00:08:57
Speaker
Like Burke and, uh, Dark Universe were my favorites, but, um, we were with
00:09:03
Speaker
my friend's nephews who are 11 and seven and the seven-year-old loved Super Mario.
00:09:08
Speaker
Like you walk in there and everything's so bright and moving and all of that and really enjoyed that.
00:09:12
Speaker
So I think it kind of depends on, you know, what IPs you like and what kind of style you like and that thing.
00:09:17
Speaker
But every one of them is very well executed and obviously has a high budget and all of that.
00:09:23
Speaker
So I'm excited to go.
00:09:26
Speaker
Yeah.
00:09:27
Speaker
Do you guys have plans to go?
00:09:30
Speaker
So I will be down there at the beginning of May.
00:09:35
Speaker
So I am hoping for some sort of soft opening or something for pass holders.
00:09:40
Speaker
So I know they haven't announced anything yet, but I feel like there's a pretty good chance there'll be something going on.
00:09:47
Speaker
So we'll see.
00:09:48
Speaker
I think so.
00:09:48
Speaker
I hope so.
00:09:51
Speaker
We're actually thinking about going on the Saturday of Father's Day weekend.
00:09:56
Speaker
We haven't bought tickets yet, but we're planning on getting tickets.
00:09:58
Speaker
I think it's the 14th of June.
00:10:00
Speaker
Yeah, we're thinking about going that day.
00:10:03
Speaker
I'm very curious how... That's so close to when we're going to be there, Rafa.
00:10:06
Speaker
When are you going?
00:10:09
Speaker
June 16th.
00:10:10
Speaker
It's a Monday.
00:10:11
Speaker
We're going on the front end of our Disney trip.
00:10:14
Speaker
We got tickets for that day, but we will be with the kids, so it's going to be a challenge.
00:10:19
Speaker
So wait, you're doing that and then... Yes, and then you're up.
00:10:24
Speaker
Yeah.
00:10:25
Speaker
Crazy.
00:10:28
Speaker
Yeah, it's going to be so fun.
00:10:30
Speaker
Having been there, I'm super curious how they're going to manage capacity for this park.
00:10:35
Speaker
Because it felt very busy when we were there.
00:10:39
Speaker
And I mean, the parking lot was actually pretty full, but it wasn't like full.
00:10:44
Speaker
So that's going to be very, very interesting.
00:10:46
Speaker
I feel like, and I hate to say this, but I feel like the people who are going the first couple of weeks may have negative experiences

Event Experiences at Universal and Epcot

00:10:54
Speaker
just based on the volume of people.
00:10:57
Speaker
um although there could be some things that they do to kind of manage that like not letting people into the portals if they get full um i just don't really know what they're going to do you know for team member preview everything was just kind of you can walk where you want but um it seems clear that because there's such limited accesses like there's one usually one other way to get in and out of each land but that's it it's the portal and then that
00:11:22
Speaker
So they could manage capacity if they wanted to.
00:11:25
Speaker
I'm curious if they'll actually choose to do that.
00:11:27
Speaker
And then I imagine that the park has some kind of limit because I think right now you're having to like pick a date that you're going to go.
00:11:34
Speaker
And I'm curious if some of those single day tickets will end up being sold out at a certain point, especially during the initial months of the park debuting because they want to kind of not go too crazy and temper that so they don't get completely overloaded.
00:11:49
Speaker
Yeah, hopefully people are tempering their expectations because this is easily the biggest park opening since like Animal Kingdom.
00:11:57
Speaker
I mean, it's just almost unprecedented since we've been adults.
00:12:02
Speaker
Yeah, yeah.
00:12:03
Speaker
I mean, like, I went into the day fully expecting downtime.
00:12:06
Speaker
Like, that was not a surprise.
00:12:09
Speaker
It was a little surprising how much was down at the same time at a certain point.
00:12:12
Speaker
But I went in being like, I'm sure at least one or two of these things, like, we might not get.
00:12:16
Speaker
And that's not a big deal because it's a brand new park.
00:12:19
Speaker
Like, it's still in technical rehearsals.
00:12:21
Speaker
And I'm not expecting them to be 100% ready.
00:12:24
Speaker
And the people going the first few months of even public operations should be prepared for that, too.
00:12:29
Speaker
Oh, yeah.
00:12:30
Speaker
That's just like, I mean, we said the same thing because we can talk about this in a minute.
00:12:33
Speaker
The flash was having some issues like any new rides have issues and it takes some time to for maintenance, like figure it out and start getting it through its paces and make it work really well.
00:12:44
Speaker
So it's good that they're doing that now.
00:12:47
Speaker
That's the whole point of the preview is to kind of work out some of that in advance.
00:12:52
Speaker
Yeah.
00:12:52
Speaker
I was excited for you.
00:12:53
Speaker
I was excited to hear your opinions on things.
00:12:56
Speaker
Yeah.
00:12:57
Speaker
Yeah.
00:12:57
Speaker
Walking through the chronos the first time and like seeing that initial view is it's a cool moment.
00:13:03
Speaker
Well, speaking of downtime, I have my, um, Kings Dominion announced I three Oh five, AKA pantherian this year is not going to be opening until summer, most likely.
00:13:18
Speaker
So they didn't really give an opening date.
00:13:21
Speaker
Um,
00:13:22
Speaker
I'd like to have a little more specificity there because a lot of us will be there on a big group trip at the end of May around Memorial Day weekend.
00:13:31
Speaker
So a lot of people come into the park for the first time from all over the country.
00:13:35
Speaker
So that's going to be a real bummer if they miss out on Pantherian.
00:13:40
Speaker
But yeah, I know they're doing obviously some extra theming to fit in with the jungle expedition.
00:13:48
Speaker
And that area does look really good and,
00:13:50
Speaker
talk about that in a little bit with Reptira, but I'm not sure what else they're doing exactly, but excited to see it.
00:13:56
Speaker
Hopefully it can open at least by Memorial Day weekend.
00:14:01
Speaker
I saw, I don't know if it was on Discord or on Twitter, and I'm sure like the source of, I'm not going to be one to like start rumors.
00:14:08
Speaker
I don't know where the source of this came.
00:14:09
Speaker
I just saw it when I was scrolling, but somebody had said like the whole lift mechanism is not in place at that ride right now.
00:14:15
Speaker
So I don't
00:14:17
Speaker
Yeah, and I've seen in multiple places that... That was in Discord.
00:14:22
Speaker
It might be Thuzy lore, I'm not sure.
00:14:24
Speaker
Yeah, I don't know if that's the specific thing, but I did see in a couple different places people saying that it's not just closed for the theming.
00:14:33
Speaker
Like there's something else going on, and the theming is kind of a nice story to tell because they were always planning to do that.
00:14:41
Speaker
And they could have done that while the ride was still open, but I think something has gone not according to plan.
00:14:47
Speaker
Real tea.
00:14:48
Speaker
Real tea.
00:14:50
Speaker
Yeah.
00:14:51
Speaker
Which is not unusual, but yeah, I mean, it could be like a short situation.
00:14:57
Speaker
It's because they're the statement they made is very generic.
00:15:00
Speaker
Like when they say summer, did they mean finishing the theming by summer or reopening the ride?
00:15:05
Speaker
And I think they kind of purposely kept it that way because they don't really know.
00:15:10
Speaker
Guys, this just jogged my memory.
00:15:12
Speaker
Something just came to me.
00:15:13
Speaker
Did you guys see on Twitter the statement from Thorpe Park?
00:15:18
Speaker
No.
00:15:19
Speaker
No.
00:15:20
Speaker
So I saw that Hyperia is not expected to open until June 8th.
00:15:26
Speaker
What?
00:15:27
Speaker
I thought it was running today.
00:15:30
Speaker
I don't know.
00:15:30
Speaker
I saw something, unless it was fake.
00:15:33
Speaker
I didn't look into this.
00:15:36
Speaker
But I saw somebody posted.
00:15:38
Speaker
Literally.
00:15:39
Speaker
Fake news.
00:15:42
Speaker
But it said it was like a Thorpe Park, you know, their like blue background with their logo saying like, maybe it was last year.
00:15:50
Speaker
Wasn't that from last year?
00:15:51
Speaker
It could have been.
00:15:53
Speaker
Could have been last year's, but I saw it and I was like, yikes, that's so close to where we're going.
00:15:57
Speaker
I swear I saw pictures today of people writing it, but maybe.
00:16:00
Speaker
That's great.
00:16:01
Speaker
I don't know where I saw it.
00:16:02
Speaker
Fake news.
00:16:03
Speaker
Fake news.
00:16:03
Speaker
Fake news.
00:16:07
Speaker
I'm sure it's fake since nobody else has talked.
00:16:10
Speaker
Okay, cool.
00:16:11
Speaker
You're good.
00:16:12
Speaker
Everybody's good.
00:16:12
Speaker
Everything's fine.
00:16:13
Speaker
It's a parody on the bio.
00:16:16
Speaker
It's not April 1st yet, Kelly.
00:16:18
Speaker
Oh my god, I hate April Fool's Day.
00:16:20
Speaker
Catch me hiding.
00:16:21
Speaker
I'm not answering any texts from anyone.
00:16:23
Speaker
Oh gosh.
00:16:24
Speaker
Speaking of fake news, the...
00:16:29
Speaker
flash the other day the whoever said that oh yeah it's not going to be open until july going to be open for a couple months um so people definitely wrote it like the next day yeah people like us yeah dipping dots was strong
00:16:49
Speaker
Anyways, I think that's all of our spills.
00:16:52
Speaker
We have lots to say today.
00:16:54
Speaker
We are going to move into talking about some special events some of us have recently been to.
00:16:59
Speaker
Rafa, if you want to start with Universal Mardi Gras.
00:17:03
Speaker
Yes.
00:17:04
Speaker
So I actually went to Mardi Gras at Universal.
00:17:07
Speaker
I don't have much to say about it because it's very similar to the Mardi Gras that we've already gone to.
00:17:12
Speaker
We've had like, what, three episodes now where we've talked about Mardi Gras.
00:17:15
Speaker
But it was a good time.
00:17:17
Speaker
We took advantage of the dining, the float and dining package.
00:17:24
Speaker
And hold on.
00:17:26
Speaker
Yeah.
00:17:26
Speaker
So the mic.
00:17:29
Speaker
Not the mic.
00:17:30
Speaker
Okay, so the dining package where you basically get to reserve your spot on a float and you get a three-course meal with it, which was about $100, which, I mean, it's not bad because you're each getting a three-course meal and you get to reserve your spot on a float.
00:17:47
Speaker
So it was pretty awesome.
00:17:49
Speaker
We went to Pat O'Brien's and we had a bunch of food, actually.
00:17:55
Speaker
What did we have?
00:17:56
Speaker
I took a screenshot of a couple things here.
00:17:59
Speaker
So, of course, we had beignets while we were over there.
00:18:02
Speaker
We had a cookies and cream beignet.
00:18:04
Speaker
And then we also had a dulce de leche bread pudding, which was very good.
00:18:09
Speaker
Yeah, those were very good.
00:18:11
Speaker
And then I got a standard like po' boy with shrimp, which was really good.
00:18:15
Speaker
And we also tried the jambalaya shrimp, which was delicious.
00:18:20
Speaker
And, and yeah, and then we also got wings as well.
00:18:24
Speaker
It was a whole thing.
00:18:25
Speaker
We didn't even finish all the food.
00:18:28
Speaker
So that was great.
00:18:29
Speaker
And then we had our spot on the float, which was pretty awesome.
00:18:33
Speaker
I've never done it before.
00:18:34
Speaker
That was my first time doing it.
00:18:36
Speaker
And we saw all time low afterwards at the concert.
00:18:40
Speaker
So that was a lot of fun.
00:18:42
Speaker
Yeah.
00:18:43
Speaker
So that was, that was a fun part.
00:18:45
Speaker
One thing that I do wish they would do with the float and dine experience, you're paying a hundred bucks.
00:18:50
Speaker
I mean, I would be willing to pay a little extra if you can get like your own, like you can get like a reserved area for the concerts.
00:18:58
Speaker
Like if I were able to pay a little extra to be like closer to the stage, that would be pretty sick.
00:19:03
Speaker
Um, yeah,
00:19:04
Speaker
But I mean, all in all, it was a great time.
00:19:07
Speaker
We had a great time out there.
00:19:10
Speaker
Have you guys ever been to that party?
00:19:11
Speaker
I just realized that I was there.
00:19:15
Speaker
Oh, you were... Yeah, the day before Epic, I was at studios for a little bit.

Media Day and Ride Impressions

00:19:21
Speaker
And we definitely saw the parade go by.
00:19:22
Speaker
And both of the nephews got some beads.
00:19:26
Speaker
They were like jumping up in the air trying to get them.
00:19:30
Speaker
Those floats are wild.
00:19:31
Speaker
It's just like so many people on them throwing beads.
00:19:33
Speaker
It's crazy.
00:19:34
Speaker
Yeah.
00:19:34
Speaker
it's kind of overwhelming like you're trying to like like they tell you like if you if you see that you're running low like just stop throwing as many but we didn't even get to finish throwing all of the beads that we had in front of us oh my gosh so we were like oh my god like we're like we're close to the end we're gonna have to start like yeah just like tossing these like multiple at the same time but yeah it was it was fun it was a fun experience there's multiple parades throughout the day too right
00:19:58
Speaker
So, I mean, maybe.
00:20:00
Speaker
I don't know.
00:20:01
Speaker
I know for the dining experience, it's reserved for the evening parade.
00:20:05
Speaker
Okay, okay.
00:20:06
Speaker
Maybe that's probably what we saw then.
00:20:08
Speaker
Right, if it's during the day, then... I think it's just one Mardi Gras parade.
00:20:12
Speaker
They have the other parades during the day, but I think just one evening one for Mardi Gras.
00:20:16
Speaker
That's probably what we saw then.
00:20:18
Speaker
Yeah.
00:20:18
Speaker
Like one of the other parades that was happening earlier.
00:20:20
Speaker
And then we saw the beads later.
00:20:22
Speaker
Yep.
00:20:22
Speaker
Yep.
00:20:22
Speaker
Yeah.
00:20:23
Speaker
A lot of fun though.
00:20:24
Speaker
Definitely recommend that.
00:20:25
Speaker
It's definitely a good buy.
00:20:26
Speaker
I think, I mean, you get a three course meal and you get to reserve your spot in the float.
00:20:31
Speaker
So that was pretty fun.
00:20:32
Speaker
A hundred dollars.
00:20:32
Speaker
That's not bad for theme park prices.
00:20:35
Speaker
Yeah.
00:20:35
Speaker
It's not.
00:20:36
Speaker
Yeah.
00:20:37
Speaker
It's not just the appetizers alone that we got at Pat O'Brien's.
00:20:40
Speaker
We like, I think the price was like 18 bucks for the appetizers.
00:20:45
Speaker
So that, and then you're adding the entree and adding the dessert price.
00:20:49
Speaker
And then I think a drink, not a drink, drink, but like, you know, soft drink is included in that as well.
00:20:54
Speaker
So, I mean, it's, it's pretty, it's pretty good.
00:20:57
Speaker
But very fun, very fun time, but pretty generic to Mardi Gras.
00:21:01
Speaker
Celebration is the same, the same style of food.
00:21:03
Speaker
We didn't try any of the food booths because we were stuffed from the restaurant.
00:21:08
Speaker
So yeah, unfortunately we don't have any reviews on that, but it was a good time.
00:21:12
Speaker
Sounds fun.
00:21:13
Speaker
It looks definitely like as Universal does better themed for seasonal events than a lot of other regional parks, obviously.
00:21:21
Speaker
Right.
00:21:21
Speaker
Yeah.
00:21:22
Speaker
Yeah.
00:21:23
Speaker
Definitely a good time.
00:21:24
Speaker
Cool.
00:21:24
Speaker
Cool.
00:21:26
Speaker
And then I attended Flower and Garden Festival at Epcot.
00:21:30
Speaker
That was my pivot from not going to Lagoon.
00:21:33
Speaker
I decided two days before to just go to Epcot.
00:21:37
Speaker
Panicking about Lightning Lane.
00:21:41
Speaker
Literally panicking because now when you get lightning lane, you can pre book seven days in advance if you're staying on site, which we did not do, but three days in advance if you stay on site.
00:21:53
Speaker
So by the time we decided 48 hours before that we were going to Epcot, obviously those lightning lanes had already been like available for other people to book.
00:22:01
Speaker
So the guardians individual lightning lane was sold out.
00:22:05
Speaker
But we did get some other lightning lanes and we ended up actually getting
00:22:09
Speaker
Lightning lane, a lightning lane for guardians.
00:22:12
Speaker
I brought my friend Kaylee, who is also my coworker with us.
00:22:16
Speaker
And she was up at one in the morning, refreshing the app and snagged some lightning lanes for us, but she only me and her because she wasn't linked to Tom's account.
00:22:26
Speaker
So he didn't get to go.
00:22:29
Speaker
Yeah, but it was fine.
00:22:30
Speaker
He drank.
00:22:32
Speaker
So I'll just run through like a little bit of I posted.
00:22:36
Speaker
We do have an Instagram account if anyone wanted to follow us that isn't.
00:22:40
Speaker
I posted a little bit on there when I was down in Epcot, some of the food and beverage that we tried.
00:22:48
Speaker
But Flower Garden Festival is one of the three main festivals that Epcot has.
00:22:54
Speaker
Um, there's the festival of the arts and then food and wine.
00:22:57
Speaker
Everybody knows about food and wine, but I would almost wager that the food is better at flower and garden.
00:23:03
Speaker
It was so delicious.
00:23:04
Speaker
It runs from March 5th to June 2nd.
00:23:07
Speaker
So still lots of time to get there this year.
00:23:09
Speaker
If you want to go, um, one of the highlights is all of the like living floral gardens and like sculptures of characters that they do.
00:23:18
Speaker
It's always really pretty.
00:23:21
Speaker
We took some pictures of those.
00:23:22
Speaker
They have a butterfly tent that you can go in, um, outside of the food and beverage booths.
00:23:28
Speaker
They have like themed little areas set up that you can kind of sit and enjoy what you're trying.
00:23:34
Speaker
They also have, um, like pop-up play gardens for kids with like little parks inside of them, kind of just like dispersed around the park.
00:23:43
Speaker
Just lots of great use of like the open areas that are usually there.
00:23:50
Speaker
just in like the main areas most of they definitely had like flower garden stuff throughout world showcase but um a lot of where we were was kind of in like the other half of the park which has like all different names now so not world showcase but like what used to be future world and is now called other things um
00:24:09
Speaker
They also have concert series during all of their events.
00:24:12
Speaker
We didn't really check any of that out back in the American Pavilion, but that definitely was going on.
00:24:19
Speaker
I guess I'll get in a little bit to the food and beverage that we tried.
00:24:22
Speaker
I tried so much, so I can just quickly name some of the stuff that we had to entice people to go, and if anything was particularly noteworthy, I'll mention it.
00:24:32
Speaker
But all of the different
00:24:33
Speaker
Booths had a variety of food items, usually like

Halloween Horror Nights Speculations

00:24:37
Speaker
two or three small bite type things, a dessert.
00:24:40
Speaker
And then beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.
00:24:44
Speaker
We were very extra and made a spreadsheet of all of the offerings before we went.
00:24:50
Speaker
And myself and Kaylee and Tom checked off what we wanted to try so that we could try to share where applicable, which came in clutch because we ate so much food.
00:25:02
Speaker
It literally sounds...
00:25:04
Speaker
Like there's no way that a person should eat this much food in a day, but we did share, we did share most of the stuff.
00:25:10
Speaker
So, um, the first booth we went to was Florida fresh.
00:25:14
Speaker
We had a Cubanito sandwich, um, strawberry shortcake.
00:25:18
Speaker
Um, those are both good.
00:25:20
Speaker
And then they have places called the beach grub and yacht grub, which is a play on like the beach and yacht club.
00:25:27
Speaker
Um, um,
00:25:29
Speaker
Resorts at Disney.
00:25:30
Speaker
So at beach grab, I had the seafood bake, which was really good.
00:25:34
Speaker
Huge portions for like, honestly, like generally the food items were probably around like $7 to $8, which I felt like some of the, the items were,
00:25:46
Speaker
where like if you split it in three, you're basically having one or two bites, but some of them are like pretty full size.
00:25:51
Speaker
Like the seafood bake was, was pretty big.
00:25:54
Speaker
Um, we had grilled street corn on the cob, which, um, was very good.
00:25:57
Speaker
Tom and Kaylee loved that.
00:25:59
Speaker
And then they had a frozen s'mores bar, um, at Yacht Grub, we had like a dip and chip trio and like a sordid meat plate.
00:26:08
Speaker
But both of those are great.
00:26:10
Speaker
My favorite place, my favorite booth was called Honey Bistro.
00:26:14
Speaker
We had chicken and waffles there, which were so good.
00:26:16
Speaker
They were like little bite-sized ones.
00:26:18
Speaker
And then the best thing of the whole entire event that I ate, it was called Honey Peach Cobbler Freeze.
00:26:27
Speaker
So it was like, I thought it would be more of like just like a frozen drink, but it was more of like frozen yogurt consistency.
00:26:35
Speaker
Like you, they gave you a straw, but it was like easier to eat with a spoon and it was so freaking good.
00:26:39
Speaker
I wish that we went back around and got more like I'm craving it.
00:26:44
Speaker
What else?
00:26:45
Speaker
We went to Pineapple Promenade because that was.
00:26:48
Speaker
the place that was selling Dole Whip.
00:26:50
Speaker
And we were really excited.
00:26:51
Speaker
Kaylee had never had Dole Whip before.
00:26:53
Speaker
And there was an alcoholic beverage with mango rum and Dole Whip.
00:26:56
Speaker
And guess what?
00:26:57
Speaker
The Dole Whip machine was broken.
00:27:00
Speaker
So we couldn't get the Dole Whip.
00:27:03
Speaker
Kaylee was crushed.
00:27:04
Speaker
I literally stood there with my mouth agape because I was like, wait, what?
00:27:07
Speaker
Shame on you, Disney.
00:27:09
Speaker
We came all the way to F-Cott.
00:27:11
Speaker
We came to get freaking Dole Whip at a food festival.
00:27:15
Speaker
Shame, shame.
00:27:15
Speaker
Shame, shame.
00:27:16
Speaker
Where is the backup Dole Whip machine?
00:27:18
Speaker
That should have been my spill.
00:27:19
Speaker
Yeah, come on.
00:27:20
Speaker
Bring it over from one of the other parks.
00:27:22
Speaker
If anything should have a backup, it's that.
00:27:25
Speaker
Literally.
00:27:26
Speaker
We even checked back later.
00:27:27
Speaker
We're like, hey, what's the deal with the Dole Whip machine?
00:27:29
Speaker
But we knew because nobody was even in line.
00:27:31
Speaker
It's like, nobody wants this booth because the Dole Whip is not here.
00:27:36
Speaker
The word has spread around Epcot.
00:27:38
Speaker
Literally.
00:27:40
Speaker
People are in the queues like the Dole Whip is down.
00:27:43
Speaker
The Dole Whip is down.
00:27:44
Speaker
People pay their attention to the raging fire in the France pavilion.
00:27:48
Speaker
Right.
00:27:49
Speaker
Right.
00:27:50
Speaker
The actual 911 was the Dole Whip, not the fire in the France pavilion.
00:27:55
Speaker
Literally.
00:27:57
Speaker
We had this violet lemonade, which was like kind of like lavender and lemonade.
00:28:02
Speaker
Did not enjoy it.
00:28:02
Speaker
I'm not like a lavender girl.
00:28:04
Speaker
I don't like really the smell or taste of it.
00:28:06
Speaker
It kind of skeezes me.
00:28:07
Speaker
Like it should be a smell only.
00:28:09
Speaker
And the smell isn't even good.
00:28:10
Speaker
I don't want it in my mouth.
00:28:13
Speaker
Trowel and trellis we went I tried the soy glazed pork sticky ribs which Tom and Kaylee got they loved them they were very good
00:28:22
Speaker
I had my first beverage there, my first alcoholic beverage.
00:28:25
Speaker
It was a tropical punch with mango and pineapple tea, passion fruit, orange juice, and guava juice, and mango rum.
00:28:32
Speaker
Does that not sound like I would love it?
00:28:33
Speaker
Yeah.
00:28:35
Speaker
That is perfect.
00:28:35
Speaker
I love mango.
00:28:37
Speaker
It was so good.
00:28:38
Speaker
And then I followed that up with another drink from the China Pavilion called Dragon Dynasty that had rum, dragon fruit syrup, and pina colada mix.
00:28:47
Speaker
delicious.
00:28:47
Speaker
It was fluorescent pink, not as good as the first one, but both of them I got, because obviously it had, they had rum.
00:28:54
Speaker
And then I stopped drinking after that because we didn't want to take it too far.
00:28:59
Speaker
Um, I let's see what else I had that was notable.
00:29:03
Speaker
Um, we went to a place called brunch cot that I tried the avocado toast, not good, but the, they made up for it with these fried cinnamon roll bites that were delicious.
00:29:15
Speaker
um how to level way to make a cinnamon roll more unhealthy yes fry it fry it and serve it in like miniature french fried little bites we got amazing yeah that sounds incredible had a lemon tart at citrus blossom nothing notable there um at the germany pavilion i had a potato pancake with ham and onion
00:29:36
Speaker
And then we kind of like died off.
00:29:37
Speaker
So we did all of the like booths out front.
00:29:39
Speaker
And then by the time we got to World Showcase, we were kind of like full and over it.
00:29:43
Speaker
So we didn't really stop at a lot of the booths.
00:29:44
Speaker
And also like the reviews online of the food were not as strong at the country's different pavilion booths.
00:29:51
Speaker
So we kind of just took it easy and walked around.
00:29:54
Speaker
And then, yeah, there was a fire in France that was on Twitter.
00:29:58
Speaker
It was apparently in the backstage area, but that kind of affected our ability to ride Remy's.
00:30:04
Speaker
We went there right when we got to the park.
00:30:06
Speaker
We missed rope drop because of what time our flight landed, which we knew was going to happen.
00:30:10
Speaker
But we went to Remy and we waited the entire queue and then it broke.
00:30:13
Speaker
So they gave us a fast lane or lightning lane to come back later.
00:30:16
Speaker
And we were on our way to do it.
00:30:18
Speaker
But all of France was evacuated for the fire.
00:30:21
Speaker
Everyone was fine.
00:30:22
Speaker
Yeah.
00:30:24
Speaker
What else for my day?
00:30:26
Speaker
I rode Guardians three times.
00:30:27
Speaker
First time I've been to Epcot with Guardians on standby.
00:30:30
Speaker
So that was awesome.
00:30:31
Speaker
I had previously written Guardians two times, once in October, the year that it opened with a virtual queue.
00:30:40
Speaker
And then again with a virtual queue about a year ago when we went with the family.
00:30:45
Speaker
So this time I wrote it once with a lightning lane and twice in the standby queue that was listed at 80 minutes.
00:30:51
Speaker
And it was
00:30:52
Speaker
at or less than 80 minutes both times.
00:30:55
Speaker
So now I've written Guardians five times, five different songs.
00:30:58
Speaker
I'm going strong on my song selection.
00:31:00
Speaker
That's fine.
00:31:01
Speaker
Which ones are you missing?
00:31:02
Speaker
I'm missing Conga.
00:31:04
Speaker
I get that one every time.
00:31:06
Speaker
Really?
00:31:07
Speaker
Yes.
00:31:07
Speaker
I think I got, I've written it three times and I've gotten, I got September the first time and then Conga the other two times.
00:31:14
Speaker
September is peak for me.
00:31:16
Speaker
Oh, that was the one I wanted the most.
00:31:18
Speaker
And the fact that I got that first, I loved it.
00:31:20
Speaker
I got September the only time I've written it.
00:31:24
Speaker
That's so good.
00:31:25
Speaker
Well, I mean, I can't speak on the other ones, but I loved it with September.
00:31:28
Speaker
I also really loved this time I got I ran.
00:31:30
Speaker
My first time was Disco Inferno, which I was like, I loved the ride because it was my first time.
00:31:34
Speaker
And then September with my family, the kids love it.
00:31:36
Speaker
They want to listen to it all the time because they call it the Guardian song.
00:31:40
Speaker
I'm like, there's other songs.
00:31:41
Speaker
Oh, I love that.
00:31:43
Speaker
Yeah.
00:31:44
Speaker
And then we got One Way or Another and I ran and Everybody Wants to Rule the World, which I love that song, but it's kind of a downer when you're on the ride.
00:31:53
Speaker
It's like this song is slow.
00:31:55
Speaker
Yeah, that's true.
00:31:57
Speaker
Yeah, it was really fun.
00:31:58
Speaker
I had a great day.
00:32:00
Speaker
I had all of the Disney magic just reinvigorating my life in the middle of March.
00:32:06
Speaker
So...
00:32:08
Speaker
Highly recommend if you are trying to decide what time of year to go to Epcot is a great time this time of year because Flower Garden is excellent.
00:32:17
Speaker
I've been multiple times and the weather is just like perfect.
00:32:21
Speaker
It was such a nice day, 78 degrees and sunny.
00:32:23
Speaker
I got sunburned.
00:32:25
Speaker
I liked it.
00:32:26
Speaker
I wanted to be feeling the sun on my body.
00:32:28
Speaker
Oh, hello.
00:32:28
Speaker
Yeah, that's it about Flower Garden, I think.
00:32:36
Speaker
I think next we will move on.
00:32:39
Speaker
Did anybody else go to any other events?
00:32:41
Speaker
Not really.
00:32:41
Speaker
I don't think so.
00:32:43
Speaker
No.
00:32:44
Speaker
I did go to Busch Gardens Williamsburg since our last episode, which was during Mardi Gras, but it wasn't a great day.
00:32:50
Speaker
I have nothing to add to what Tyler said.
00:32:51
Speaker
In fact, if I say anything about that day, it's going to make everyone not want to go to Busch Gardens Williamsburg.
00:32:57
Speaker
So we're going to skip it.
00:33:00
Speaker
Um, let's move on to some talk about some of the new for 2025 coasters, not trying to be a coaster podcast, but we do all kind of love them.
00:33:11
Speaker
And that's how we're here.
00:33:13
Speaker
There's the thrills part, you know, there, there is the thrills part.
00:33:16
Speaker
That's true.
00:33:17
Speaker
That's true.
00:33:18
Speaker
Um, so I thought we would start first.
00:33:21
Speaker
We kind of go in order of their media days.
00:33:23
Speaker
Joey, you got to attend the Georgia gold rusher media day.
00:33:26
Speaker
Tell us about it.
00:33:28
Speaker
Yeah.
00:33:29
Speaker
So I guess that was like two weeks ago, I think at this point ish.
00:33:34
Speaker
It was on a Thursday, beautiful 5am Thursday, showed up to the park and got to walk past the
00:33:43
Speaker
in progress demolition of the go-karts, which were confirmed to be removed earlier this year.
00:33:51
Speaker
So those are already in progress of being demolished.
00:33:54
Speaker
Very curious about what's going to happen in that area.
00:33:55
Speaker
There's some rumors about a new entrance being built over there, which I think makes no sense.
00:34:01
Speaker
But we shall see what happens there.
00:34:04
Speaker
And so we hung around for a while.
00:34:06
Speaker
And then I think around 6.30ish, maybe they brought us to the ride for our first rides.
00:34:12
Speaker
So we got night rides essentially because it was 6.30 a.m.
00:34:15
Speaker
and it was still dark.
00:34:18
Speaker
I wrote it 20 times, 22 times, something like that, that day.
00:34:24
Speaker
It was pretty much just a series of traditional media, like your local newscasters, your local newspapers, along with influencers, some which I didn't recognize and some which are, you know, some of the larger Coaster Instagram accounts that people are familiar with.
00:34:41
Speaker
Saw...
00:34:43
Speaker
Our friend, um, still well from coaster one on one was there and I sat with him next to him on his video.
00:34:48
Speaker
And then I sat next to Scott Schaefer from coaster force slash upstop media for his.
00:34:54
Speaker
And that was cool to see them there, um, doing their thing and recording their videos.
00:34:58
Speaker
Um,
00:35:00
Speaker
What else is there to say?
00:35:02
Speaker
While we were walking in, we were all really excited by the theming.
00:35:07
Speaker
When the ride was first introduced, the Georgia surfer theme seemed kind of strange in terms of the land that it's built into, which is Lick Skillet in the park.
00:35:17
Speaker
And then also, you can't surf in Georgia.
00:35:21
Speaker
It's a landlocked state.
00:35:22
Speaker
There's no...
00:35:25
Speaker
So they rethemed it to Georgia Goldrusher and walking up to it, the sign was really cool.
00:35:30
Speaker
And then you started to see more theming and there's like a railway car.
00:35:34
Speaker
There's rocks all around the water feature.
00:35:38
Speaker
There's like dynamite and crates and barrels in the station.
00:35:41
Speaker
So we were all like, oh my gosh, like actual theming for a Six Flags ride.
00:35:45
Speaker
This is super cool.
00:35:47
Speaker
And then we got on the ride and it's very enjoyable.
00:35:52
Speaker
If you've ridden one of the intimate half pipes that are out there, like at the American, no, Nickelodeon universe, either one, they both have one.
00:36:03
Speaker
You're kind of familiar with it, except for the fact that it also has an airtime hill in the middle.
00:36:07
Speaker
And they kind of profile the spikes to have these like bump outs.
00:36:11
Speaker
And that actually does add some airtime, which is cool.
00:36:14
Speaker
So instead of just getting pure float on those spikes, you do get kind of a push out of your seat on the way down, which is cool.
00:36:22
Speaker
It's very smooth, as you would expect for a modern Intamin.
00:36:26
Speaker
Yeah.
00:36:28
Speaker
And the airtime hill in the middle definitely hits pretty well during the fastest pass as you're swinging back and forth.
00:36:35
Speaker
You get a really good pass that last time and it'll pop you out of your seat.
00:36:39
Speaker
It's ejector airtime for sure.
00:36:44
Speaker
And the only thing that was kind of subpar, I guess, about the experience was the lack of spinning.
00:36:50
Speaker
It really did not spin much at all.
00:36:54
Speaker
I really only kind of did when it was unbalanced somewhat like there were some later rides we got where people had left and were no longer riding it to fill all of the seats.
00:37:03
Speaker
And so it would kind of shift a little bit more.
00:37:05
Speaker
I ended up talking with one of the guys for maintenance about it, and he said that
00:37:10
Speaker
The mechanism, it's basically a fin on the track that interacts with a magnet on the train that's supposed to spin it.
00:37:17
Speaker
And that device is slightly undersized for the weight of the gondola that spins.
00:37:24
Speaker
So Intamin is apparently actively working on some kind of fix to get it to spin more.
00:37:29
Speaker
I don't expect that it's going to spin like...
00:37:32
Speaker
a Gerstlauer spinner, you know how sometimes you can get like a crazy, like really fast spin.
00:37:37
Speaker
I think it'll be more like a time traveler type spin if it happens.
00:37:42
Speaker
And that'll be good, I think, for the ride because it is lacking a little bit of surprise when you're not spinning at all and you're just kind of in the same spot the whole ride.
00:37:52
Speaker
What's cool, because it happened a couple times, is when you're spinning kind of slowly and then you hit an element that you like weren't ready for because you were moving.
00:38:02
Speaker
So when you get backwards over the airtime hill, that is really cool.
00:38:06
Speaker
Sort of like Pantheon's backwards airtime hill and you get a lot of it's unexpected because you can't see it coming and then it hits and you're like, oh, yeah, that was great.
00:38:15
Speaker
So yeah, it's a fun ride.
00:38:16
Speaker
It's probably in the top three or four at the park, which I guess kind of makes sense.
00:38:23
Speaker
It's obviously not the most thrilling thing at the park, but it feels like kind of a good, I don't want to say middle ground because it's still a throw coaster, but it fits well into the over Georgia lineup, which has some coasters with like really strong positives or things like that.
00:38:39
Speaker
And it's a little more friendly for everybody.
00:38:42
Speaker
And I'm,
00:38:43
Speaker
From what I've seen, it seems like it's been very popular over the last couple weekends that it's been open.
00:38:49
Speaker
And it's had some down times and struggles, but it seems to be operating all right overall.
00:38:55
Speaker
So yeah, it was a good time.
00:38:57
Speaker
Well, yeah, it seemed like most people had positive things to say about it.
00:39:01
Speaker
Saw a lot of reactions about the Eric's surprise at the end of time.
00:39:05
Speaker
I think for me, I would be cool if it spun a little bit, but not like the ones at the malls.
00:39:13
Speaker
Yeah, the ones at the mall have been like crazy and I don't think that's the goal here.
00:39:18
Speaker
I think it's just to kind of make it so each time you go up one of the spikes, you're kind of facing a different direction to give you like, oh, maybe I'm at the end of the track this time.
00:39:28
Speaker
Now I'm at the side and now I'm in the back, something like that.
00:39:32
Speaker
But we'll see.
00:39:33
Speaker
It's going to be a couple more weeks, I think, before the fix.
00:39:36
Speaker
Are there really no beaches in Georgia?
00:39:40
Speaker
I mean, there are.
00:39:40
Speaker
They're like around lakes, though.
00:39:43
Speaker
Okay, because I was like, isn't Savannah on the ocean there?
00:39:47
Speaker
Say what?
00:39:48
Speaker
Isn't Savannah like on the ocean or is that a little more inland?
00:39:51
Speaker
I thought it was.
00:39:52
Speaker
Yeah, it's like technically right at the corner.
00:39:55
Speaker
Not me Googling a map of the United States.
00:39:59
Speaker
I don't know anything about Georgia and I've lived here for three years.
00:40:05
Speaker
I think it's mostly because of where the park is located.
00:40:07
Speaker
Atlanta is so far inland.
00:40:08
Speaker
You're like, what does surfing have to do with anything about this area?
00:40:11
Speaker
You're like, there's no motion around here.
00:40:13
Speaker
And the mining theme is a little bit more relevant, I guess, to the area and kind of builds it into the skillet area of the park.
00:40:24
Speaker
Yeah.
00:40:25
Speaker
I love that.
00:40:26
Speaker
I feel like all of the new rides that we're going to hit on, which are all... Not all.
00:40:33
Speaker
I mean, I guess...
00:40:35
Speaker
The Six Flags new rides, it seems like they really are putting an effort to enhance the theming from what they took.
00:40:44
Speaker
Oh, 100%.
00:40:45
Speaker
Yeah, you could tell that this was like a Cedar Fair takeover kind of of the theme of the ride, and they used the same theme.
00:40:52
Speaker
People like they have contractors that have been doing this stuff for Jungle X and the Reno at Knott's of the Mexico area and all of that stuff.
00:41:00
Speaker
It's very much the same through line for all of that, which is good.
00:41:05
Speaker
It's good to see.
00:41:07
Speaker
And there was a lot of other changes at over Georgia outside of that.
00:41:11
Speaker
Like they painted Goliath or painting Acrophobia.
00:41:14
Speaker
They're painting a lot of buildings and renovating the interior of restaurants and redoing their menus.
00:41:19
Speaker
Like there's a lot of stuff going on.
00:41:22
Speaker
at our park, which is pretty exciting to see because it feels like it's been neglected as a Six Flags Park and that the combined chain feels like it's got more potential.
00:41:31
Speaker
So it's exciting.
00:41:33
Speaker
And I've heard there might be some things coming in 2026, so we'll be on the lookout.
00:41:38
Speaker
Fun.
00:41:39
Speaker
Okay, and then the next media day that happened was for Rapterra.
00:41:43
Speaker
None of us were at media day, but Tyler, you were there this past weekend.
00:41:48
Speaker
Yeah, I was there for opening day.
00:41:50
Speaker
We had a good little crew there.
00:41:53
Speaker
It was 10 or 12 of us, some Buzz Bars people, met up with the Coasters and Brews crew.
00:42:00
Speaker
So I got there a little bit before opening, just massive crowd outside the front gate.
00:42:05
Speaker
And I don't know if this is going to be the norm going forward, but park opening was posted at 11.
00:42:10
Speaker
So what they used to do is half an hour before they open International Street, and then they have the rope drop past there.
00:42:18
Speaker
So you can at least get in the park and go to the rope drop.
00:42:21
Speaker
But there was no rope drop.
00:42:23
Speaker
They just opened the front gate at like 1050 and you can just go straight into the park.
00:42:28
Speaker
So I don't know if that's the new norm or not.
00:42:30
Speaker
But anyways, that caused a little bit of a stampede going towards the new coaster on an 84 degree Saturday of opening day.
00:42:41
Speaker
Me and Zach, we got in the park at the same time.
00:42:45
Speaker
So we headed straight there.
00:42:47
Speaker
Maybe 150 people in front of us.
00:42:50
Speaker
It wasn't a ton.
00:42:51
Speaker
We were supposed to meet up with the other guys, but they were having some issues.
00:42:57
Speaker
Side note, if you have a Six Flags Pass and you have the Cedar Fair all-park passport, there have been some major issues trying to get those fixed at King's Dominion.
00:43:08
Speaker
I don't know if that's for all the Cedar Fair parks, but they had to get a supervisor every time to basically just scan them in because it wasn't
00:43:17
Speaker
compatible between the two chains, which now should be one chain.
00:43:22
Speaker
Yeah, that'll be interesting.
00:43:25
Speaker
I'm going to have that happen this weekend.
00:43:28
Speaker
Yeah, my pass is through Dorney, but the first time I'll be using it will be at Discovery Kingdom, so it'll be interesting to see what happens, because obviously Dorney's not open for me to use it.
00:43:38
Speaker
Yeah.
00:43:39
Speaker
Right, yeah.
00:43:40
Speaker
And that'd be the opposite problem because you're using the Cedar Fair at the Six Flags.
00:43:43
Speaker
So it'd be interesting to see what happens.
00:43:45
Speaker
But yeah, that put Matt and Gabby and Drew way back at the back of the line.
00:43:51
Speaker
They ended up waiting over three hours for Rabterra.
00:43:54
Speaker
Oh my gosh.
00:43:55
Speaker
Yikes.
00:43:56
Speaker
But anyways, so me and Zach are in line.
00:43:58
Speaker
We see Keith ahead of us.
00:43:59
Speaker
So we call Keith and...
00:44:01
Speaker
He comes over and gets in line with us, and we waited.
00:44:05
Speaker
He got there really early.
00:44:06
Speaker
He must have gotten there so early.
00:44:08
Speaker
He was there early, yeah.
00:44:09
Speaker
Imagine getting there early.
00:44:10
Speaker
Very early.
00:44:14
Speaker
We waited, I'd say, probably like 45 minutes.
00:44:16
Speaker
We did wait for the front row, so that took a little bit longer, and through two breakdowns.
00:44:21
Speaker
So second train of the day came back and ended up having to be evac'd off the break run.
00:44:27
Speaker
So...
00:44:29
Speaker
I don't know what the issue was, but it was only down maybe 15 minutes.
00:44:32
Speaker
It wasn't too bad, but I know that's great for an evac.
00:44:35
Speaker
Good for them.
00:44:36
Speaker
Yeah.
00:44:36
Speaker
Yeah.
00:44:37
Speaker
I mean, with opening day, they had maintenance like around the corner.
00:44:41
Speaker
They were ready to, um, ready to help out.
00:44:44
Speaker
So that was good.
00:44:45
Speaker
Um, yeah, I got on the ride.
00:44:47
Speaker
It was, we got front row.
00:44:48
Speaker
I was front inside seat, which I was told inside is a little less bouncy.
00:44:55
Speaker
Um, that was my only ride, so I can't really compare it yet, but,
00:44:58
Speaker
Punchy launch, it was good.
00:45:00
Speaker
A couple good elements in there.
00:45:03
Speaker
Nothing... It's not going to be a volcano replacement, okay?
00:45:08
Speaker
I loved Volcano.
00:45:09
Speaker
I miss that thing so much.
00:45:11
Speaker
It cannot replace Volcano.
00:45:14
Speaker
But it is a good addition to the park.
00:45:17
Speaker
People were just absolutely flocking there, waiting two, three hours all day long.
00:45:22
Speaker
Even Passholder Preview on Friday night, which was supposed to be only Passholders,
00:45:27
Speaker
I heard the line didn't get below two hours.
00:45:30
Speaker
So it's definitely going to be popular.
00:45:34
Speaker
I feel like it's missing something, though.
00:45:36
Speaker
So it's a wing coaster, and there are no near misses, no keyhole elements, nothing like that like you see on Gatekeeper Thunderbird.
00:45:46
Speaker
So I don't know.
00:45:47
Speaker
It's just... That's the weirdest part about it to me.
00:45:50
Speaker
Yeah.
00:45:51
Speaker
Maybe they'll add something.
00:45:54
Speaker
There's so many other rock work type themed elements around it.
00:45:58
Speaker
I think you would put one of those around the track.
00:46:00
Speaker
Yeah, and this is just... Like at the launch, right?
00:46:03
Speaker
The launch has the rock things.
00:46:05
Speaker
Yeah, it does.
00:46:08
Speaker
That's not quite the same as a keyhole on the course.
00:46:10
Speaker
That's their version of it, I guess.
00:46:12
Speaker
Yeah, like a keyhole on an inversion would be way better, like a foot chopper or something.
00:46:17
Speaker
That's what makes it convincing.
00:46:19
Speaker
Yeah.
00:46:20
Speaker
It's definitely bouncy, though.
00:46:22
Speaker
It's not terrible.
00:46:24
Speaker
I definitely wouldn't call it rough.
00:46:26
Speaker
But you certainly are bouncing more than you would expect from a brand new coaster.
00:46:33
Speaker
Although if you've been keeping up with new B&M coasters, maybe you would expect it.
00:46:40
Speaker
But yeah, it was a great day.
00:46:41
Speaker
We got some good rides in.
00:46:43
Speaker
Got some rides on Grizzly.
00:46:44
Speaker
I love that thing.
00:46:47
Speaker
If you haven't been in Grizzly since they rechecked it.
00:46:49
Speaker
Yeah, Grazi.
00:46:50
Speaker
Grazi.
00:46:52
Speaker
I haven't ridden it since they retracted.
00:46:55
Speaker
It is super smooth up until I guess that last turnaround and then the last little pops into the station.
00:47:02
Speaker
But first drop in the back row is incredible.
00:47:07
Speaker
You're standing up.
00:47:08
Speaker
So definitely get on that.
00:47:10
Speaker
We didn't get on Twisted Timbers.
00:47:11
Speaker
It was running one train all day long.
00:47:14
Speaker
Oof.
00:47:15
Speaker
So, yeah.
00:47:17
Speaker
Had a good tailgate in the parking lot for a couple hours.
00:47:19
Speaker
Yeah.
00:47:21
Speaker
As you would when you're hanging out with coasters and brews.
00:47:24
Speaker
Of course.
00:47:26
Speaker
I would expect nothing less.
00:47:28
Speaker
Yeah.
00:47:29
Speaker
What was your impression of the way that it incorporated into the Jungle X area?
00:47:35
Speaker
I think it's good.
00:47:36
Speaker
The theming all around comes together much more when you combine it with some Beely and then whatever they're calling the bobsled these days.
00:47:46
Speaker
I don't even remember.
00:47:47
Speaker
But it is a little strange to have two bobsleds
00:47:51
Speaker
dark green coasters right beside each other.
00:47:54
Speaker
I think that's a little interesting.
00:47:56
Speaker
But the theming is really coming together.
00:48:00
Speaker
I like it.
00:48:01
Speaker
It's good for Cedar Fair Six Flags theming, I would say.
00:48:06
Speaker
I didn't make it down to Pantherian or Flight of Fear because honestly, I just don't care about Flight of Fear.
00:48:11
Speaker
But I've seen some photos and I know they've done some work down there as well.
00:48:17
Speaker
I'm really curious if Flight of Fear is...
00:48:20
Speaker
kind of on its way out.
00:48:23
Speaker
I forget where I read it, but somebody said they actually did some work inside the queue line.
00:48:28
Speaker
Oh, really?
00:48:29
Speaker
Yeah.
00:48:30
Speaker
Interesting.
00:48:31
Speaker
Okay.
00:48:32
Speaker
I don't care enough to go in there and find out though.
00:48:35
Speaker
Literally.
00:48:38
Speaker
Okay.
00:48:40
Speaker
And then most recently, Flash Vertical Velocity at Great Adventure had their media day.
00:48:46
Speaker
That was just about how many days ago was that?
00:48:49
Speaker
Like four days ago?
00:48:50
Speaker
Oh my gosh.
00:48:52
Speaker
Five.
00:48:52
Speaker
I don't know.
00:48:53
Speaker
A lot has happened since then.
00:48:56
Speaker
But Joey and I were there.
00:48:59
Speaker
Was that Thursday?
00:48:59
Speaker
Friday?
00:49:00
Speaker
Yeah.
00:49:00
Speaker
Yeah, that was four days ago.
00:49:03
Speaker
That's funny.
00:49:03
Speaker
That feels like two weeks ago.
00:49:05
Speaker
I don't know why.
00:49:05
Speaker
Yeah, that's crazy.
00:49:10
Speaker
I've regained all feeling in my extremities since then, thank God, because it was questionable.
00:49:15
Speaker
Not until this morning, though.
00:49:16
Speaker
That's when you finally got it right.
00:49:18
Speaker
Right.
00:49:19
Speaker
Oh, my gosh.
00:49:22
Speaker
Yeah, so I guess I'll start.
00:49:25
Speaker
We were lucky enough to be invited to the entirety of the media day, kind of.
00:49:31
Speaker
So there was two main portions of it.
00:49:33
Speaker
The first was we were there at 5 in the morning to be media extras,
00:49:39
Speaker
So that was basically just they needed bodies to fill the trains for some of the more like prominent like news station media coverage.
00:49:47
Speaker
And then we hung around for like the rest of the media day where it was like social media and, you know, coaster influencers and stuff.
00:49:57
Speaker
So we...
00:50:00
Speaker
Got to fill the train.
00:50:02
Speaker
Joey and I, our first ride was in the second to back.
00:50:06
Speaker
So front of the front of the back car.
00:50:10
Speaker
Mind you, we roll into great adventure at five in the morning and the real field temperature is 24 degrees.
00:50:19
Speaker
So I was like, none of us were dressed.
00:50:22
Speaker
We were prepared for cold, but like you can't, not that kind of cold.
00:50:26
Speaker
So we were like, is this ride going to run?
00:50:29
Speaker
Literally.
00:50:30
Speaker
Sure enough, we were standing outside taking our little pictures of us with waivers.
00:50:37
Speaker
And it was going.
00:50:38
Speaker
It was going in the cold.
00:50:40
Speaker
And we found out later the threshold was like 32 degrees.
00:50:44
Speaker
So it barely made the threshold.
00:50:47
Speaker
It barely made it.
00:50:49
Speaker
Which 32 is pretty low because some coasters it's like 40.
00:50:52
Speaker
So I was really nervous going into this whole thing.
00:50:55
Speaker
I was like, are we going to fly there and get a hotel and show up to the park?
00:50:58
Speaker
And I'm like, we can't run it.
00:51:00
Speaker
Yeah.
00:51:01
Speaker
Mind you, this is after having four hours of sleep.
00:51:04
Speaker
That was preceded for me by three loud, obnoxious drinking men.
00:51:10
Speaker
Okay?
00:51:13
Speaker
So I was already not feeling my best.
00:51:16
Speaker
But we...
00:51:18
Speaker
We got there.
00:51:20
Speaker
We got our first ride.
00:51:23
Speaker
It definitely felt slower than the rest of the rides we had throughout the day.
00:51:27
Speaker
Unsurprisingly so because it was so cold.
00:51:32
Speaker
As the day went on and the temperature got a little bit warmer, it definitely felt like it picked up some speed.
00:51:40
Speaker
The ride does feel really different depending on where you're sitting in the train.
00:51:43
Speaker
I don't know if you agree, Joey, or if it was just maybe we got like faster, warmer rides later, but most of our initial rides were toward the back or middle because we were those media extras and they had the camera rig set up in the front car.
00:51:56
Speaker
So the front car wasn't being used at all.
00:51:57
Speaker
It was like a professional film crew that they've been using Alpha Omega, right?
00:52:01
Speaker
Is that what it's called?
00:52:03
Speaker
um they had like a front facing um and a reverse pov set up for for people who were technically the front most they were sitting in the third row and then they also used drone footage
00:52:16
Speaker
Um, in the back, the highlight I think is you do you, so you launch forward a little bit and then you launch backward up the spike.
00:52:26
Speaker
And, um, in the back, that spike is really nice and floaty.
00:52:30
Speaker
And then you launch forward for the rest of the course.
00:52:33
Speaker
Um, I think I preferred the rest of the layout actually toward the front.
00:52:38
Speaker
Um,
00:52:39
Speaker
The airtime was a little bit stronger on the step up.
00:52:41
Speaker
And then my favorite actually was like the backward down the double, I guess it would be a double down.
00:52:48
Speaker
It was like a step up going forward and a double down going backward.
00:52:51
Speaker
The pull you get in the front going over that double down backward was really nice.
00:52:56
Speaker
And then a lot of people are talking about the stalled Emelman and especially going backwards.
00:53:03
Speaker
Like you hang out in that thing for like,
00:53:05
Speaker
three and a half, four seconds going back into the station, which is a really cool sensation.
00:53:11
Speaker
I'm not a backward moving girly.
00:53:13
Speaker
Like I get sick on Hagrid sometimes.
00:53:15
Speaker
So I was like, I don't know how this is going to go for me.
00:53:18
Speaker
It didn't make me feel that sick or disoriented.
00:53:20
Speaker
I think like...
00:53:21
Speaker
You can kind of anticipate what the feeling of the, of the course is going to be because the layout is so short that it's just like, you're literally just repeating what you just did.
00:53:31
Speaker
You can kind of anticipate the movements.
00:53:33
Speaker
It's also like the smoothest coaster ever.
00:53:35
Speaker
New Vekoma just like kills it.
00:53:37
Speaker
Especially when you compare it to some of the other manufacturers and what they're,
00:53:41
Speaker
Yeah, new rides feel like right now it was wonderful feeling nice and smooth.
00:53:46
Speaker
I think we commented on that we got our reverse POV with the four of us kind of sitting toward the front later in the day and yeah, we were like it's so smooth.
00:53:57
Speaker
Yeah, it was really fun.
00:54:00
Speaker
We got to try some, like they had some little like bites, food offerings, highlights, chicken and waffles.
00:54:06
Speaker
They had really good Mac and cheese.
00:54:08
Speaker
Oh my God.
00:54:12
Speaker
They had these cookies, which they are now selling in the park.
00:54:16
Speaker
um that were stuffed so there was like a regular sugar cookie stuffed with peanut butter and jelly and then a chocolate chip cookie stuffed with like chocolate brownie-esque stuff on the inside they were so good that was fire that that really good i had to go back and eat the other one because i ate the first one and i was like this was so good and then i needed to try the other one and they were both really good
00:54:38
Speaker
It was a beautiful day, nice and sunny.
00:54:41
Speaker
The colors of the ride really pop against the blue sky, like the bright red and the yellow.
00:54:45
Speaker
There's definitely some theming aspects that appear to be not unfinished.
00:54:50
Speaker
Unfinished for sure.
00:54:52
Speaker
The sign, the entrance sign looks really good.
00:54:54
Speaker
The queue is long AF.
00:54:58
Speaker
Yeah.
00:54:58
Speaker
Expect that thing to get full and I'm sure it will.
00:55:01
Speaker
It looks like it did it on opening day and beyond.
00:55:04
Speaker
They basically just took Cyborg's old queue and extended it through a building, like a warehouse, and then it goes around to the other side where the actual entrance is.
00:55:13
Speaker
So you go to the opposite side, you board over there, and then you come back towards the midway when you exit.
00:55:19
Speaker
But the warehouse...
00:55:22
Speaker
for lack of a better word, that they added to the queue is literally a warehouse.
00:55:27
Speaker
There are two little pedestal plinth type things in there that appear to be a future site of some kind of theming.
00:55:35
Speaker
And I did see some kind of park official gesturing and pointing to it as if they were going to be adding more stuff.
00:55:42
Speaker
They haven't added it yet.
00:55:43
Speaker
I was watching over opening weekend.
00:55:45
Speaker
So we'll see if that gets added eventually.
00:55:47
Speaker
I hope they do because that room is kind of nightmarish otherwise.
00:55:52
Speaker
Yeah, they did have some like audio playing.
00:55:54
Speaker
Yeah.
00:55:55
Speaker
Like a woman like.
00:55:57
Speaker
And also for the for the media days, if there is like audio built into the trains, they always turn it off because they don't want it to interrupt the feed.
00:56:05
Speaker
So we didn't get to experience the onboard audio on the train.
00:56:08
Speaker
But we did hear from some of our friends that went opening day that it was pretty cool to have the onboard audio going.
00:56:14
Speaker
So maybe sometime we'll ride it again.
00:56:15
Speaker
Probably not soon, but maybe sometime.
00:56:18
Speaker
Eventually.
00:56:19
Speaker
Yeah.
00:56:20
Speaker
Yeah.
00:56:20
Speaker
I actually did.
00:56:21
Speaker
We were intending to go back on Sunday because it's a 48 inch height requirement and Amelia is talking big game that she's going to ride this.
00:56:29
Speaker
So we were going to go and have her ride it, but we didn't go because other things happened, but.
00:56:34
Speaker
Probably not the worst decision.
00:56:36
Speaker
Yeah, it looked very busy.
00:56:38
Speaker
It had a lot of downtime the first day as well, which it did during like it went down during media day, but not for very long.
00:56:45
Speaker
Although on the way out, it valid and they had to do an evac.
00:56:48
Speaker
So I don't know how long it took them to recover from that.
00:56:50
Speaker
It looks like it took a long time.
00:56:52
Speaker
Yeah.
00:56:53
Speaker
So they're struggling, but it's a really fun ride.
00:56:56
Speaker
It's not like the most aggressive thing in the world.
00:56:59
Speaker
It's not, you know, El Toro or not Kingda Ka level or anything.
00:57:04
Speaker
It's not intended to be that, obviously.
00:57:06
Speaker
So it seems like a really good sort of
00:57:09
Speaker
kind of build you up to the next coaster type thing like when kelly was talking about moving backwards all i could think about is how on old vecoma boomerangs you would be like bracing for your life going backwards just waiting to get like knocked over but on this like you just fully trust new vecoma and you're like yes like take me away wherever we're going it's not gonna hurt um i think for me there's no crushing positives exactly
00:57:33
Speaker
And the highlight for me was that stall.
00:57:35
Speaker
It was like both on the way out and on the way back, but the backwards stall is really good because you can't see it coming and it just happens.
00:57:42
Speaker
It's the like most unique part of the ride to me.
00:57:45
Speaker
Well, I'm glad it's better than the classic boomerangs, but honestly, it could be any worse.
00:57:51
Speaker
It could be, it could be a skyrocket too.
00:57:57
Speaker
Oh my gosh.
00:57:58
Speaker
No.
00:57:59
Speaker
Anyways.
00:58:03
Speaker
I have so much crud to run through this weekend at these parks in Northern California.
00:58:10
Speaker
All of the crappiest types of clones and they're there.
00:58:14
Speaker
Oh yeah, you have to ride Kong.
00:58:16
Speaker
Oh no.
00:58:18
Speaker
Have fun.
00:58:18
Speaker
I need like two credits between both parks.
00:58:21
Speaker
Right.
00:58:23
Speaker
I'll be watching you ride the boomerang in SLC.
00:58:25
Speaker
I love an SLC.
00:58:29
Speaker
I love an SLC, actually.
00:58:31
Speaker
I think they're so funny.
00:58:32
Speaker
It makes me laugh the entire time.
00:58:34
Speaker
Well, Kanye's one of the worst ones.
00:58:36
Speaker
You should ride the SLC with me, actually.
00:58:37
Speaker
That might be my spill next week is one of my friends likes SLCs.
00:58:42
Speaker
I'll see if I can convince you to ride.
00:58:49
Speaker
I have a method on SLCs that don't really hurt me.
00:58:52
Speaker
It just makes me just laugh.
00:58:55
Speaker
Anyways.
00:58:58
Speaker
Is it time?
00:59:00
Speaker
I think it's time for Kelly's moment.
00:59:01
Speaker
It is time right at the hour mark.
00:59:04
Speaker
Woohoo!
00:59:05
Speaker
We're going... Honestly, I feel like that's pretty good.
00:59:08
Speaker
That is pretty good.
00:59:08
Speaker
I think we're doing well.
00:59:10
Speaker
I think so.
00:59:10
Speaker
Okay.
00:59:12
Speaker
So, our friend who we don't know at all, who are Night's Nightmares, dropped the version one of the HHN Orlando and Hollywood spec maps.
00:59:22
Speaker
We're only going to talk about Orlando.
00:59:24
Speaker
Um...
00:59:25
Speaker
But the version that we talked about in our January episode, yes, two episodes ago, we talked about the version zero version of the spec map.
00:59:37
Speaker
A lot has since changed, it appears.
00:59:41
Speaker
So we are gonna take our best shot at reviewing this spec map.
00:59:47
Speaker
I think before we start talking about the houses,
00:59:51
Speaker
I just wanted to mention in purple on the map, there is a fire symbol where nightmare fuel usually is, which I'm assuming is probably some other version of nightmare fuel.
01:00:03
Speaker
But there's also a purple entertainment icon over the lagoon.
01:00:10
Speaker
So maybe there will be a lagoon show coming back this year.
01:00:15
Speaker
There is some kind of reno happening to that right now.
01:00:18
Speaker
Yeah.
01:00:18
Speaker
Oh, that would be sick.
01:00:19
Speaker
Because the water was drained and like all of the equipment was up and I was like, what's going on in there?
01:00:24
Speaker
Oh, interesting.
01:00:25
Speaker
So that could be fun.
01:00:27
Speaker
Yeah.
01:00:28
Speaker
I really enjoyed it when they had it before.
01:00:30
Speaker
It's really cool.
01:00:32
Speaker
I've only seen it in video.
01:00:33
Speaker
I've never seen it in real life.
01:00:35
Speaker
And I know that they had announced which nights the current nighttime Lagoon show was going on.
01:00:43
Speaker
I don't know until when, though.
01:00:44
Speaker
I think they said until, what was it, like August?
01:00:46
Speaker
I don't know if you saw it, Joey.
01:00:50
Speaker
Yeah, but I think it's until maybe early or mid-August, which would give them about two weeks.
01:00:56
Speaker
So I'm not sure if that would be cutting it too close since the event starts on the 29th.
01:01:02
Speaker
It could happen.
01:01:03
Speaker
I guess we'll see.
01:01:04
Speaker
Yeah.
01:01:05
Speaker
I feel like for them to have put, I mean, it's a little purple dot that says unknown.
01:01:10
Speaker
I feel like he has to be pretty confident that something is happening there.
01:01:14
Speaker
Yeah.
01:01:15
Speaker
And if not, there may be at minimum is a second show, maybe not a lagoon show, but like something else, some other form of entertainment.
01:01:23
Speaker
Yeah.
01:01:24
Speaker
I mean, they used to, they did, there was, there were a few years before, I think it was back in 2015.
01:01:27
Speaker
They had a, um,
01:01:30
Speaker
They had like a stage built up right in front of, I think right where the crepes are like around that area.
01:01:37
Speaker
Um, right across.
01:01:38
Speaker
Yeah.
01:01:38
Speaker
Right there.
01:01:40
Speaker
I don't know.
01:01:40
Speaker
I don't know exactly where, but it was around that area.
01:01:43
Speaker
And it was so crammed.
01:01:45
Speaker
Like just to get around it to go towards like ET, it was a mission to get through.
01:01:49
Speaker
So I can't see them using that again.
01:01:51
Speaker
Even though I know that during Rock the Universe, they do use that area to put up the stage as well.
01:01:57
Speaker
So I honestly don't know.
01:01:59
Speaker
It has to be a lagoon show.
01:02:01
Speaker
I hope so.
01:02:02
Speaker
Yeah.
01:02:02
Speaker
That would be exciting to see.
01:02:05
Speaker
That would be awesome.
01:02:06
Speaker
Cool.
01:02:07
Speaker
All right.
01:02:07
Speaker
Let's go around.
01:02:11
Speaker
I don't have them like...
01:02:13
Speaker
written we're going to go in order of the number of the sound stages so the first two are like technically flip-flopped but so we'll we'll start with sound stage 22 which is the second one if you go around clockwise this symbol is a thumbs up symbol it is present on both the orlando and the hollywood maps
01:02:35
Speaker
The previous symbol from the first version of the spec map was a rocking horse, which I don't know if that makes any sense anymore.
01:02:44
Speaker
And the code name for this house is Poppy.
01:02:50
Speaker
Now keep in mind, and Horror Nights Nightmares is very vocal about like the locations of the houses may not be correct.
01:02:56
Speaker
And oftentimes they do flip around.
01:02:58
Speaker
So using the new symbols,
01:03:01
Speaker
with the code names may not be accurate at all, but I certainly, when I went through and did my speculation, tried to connect them if I could.
01:03:09
Speaker
I feel like we all kind of talked about this a little bit before, but this one is a pretty dead giveaway based on the rumored, some of the rumored IPs that are definitely coming this year or not definitely, but I guess highly rumored to be coming.
01:03:24
Speaker
And I think we're all pretty much in agreement that this is probably,
01:03:30
Speaker
Fallout, the Fallout house.
01:03:33
Speaker
I don't know anything about Fallout other than the premise of what you can find on Google.
01:03:38
Speaker
Literally nothing.
01:03:39
Speaker
Honestly, you should watch it.
01:03:42
Speaker
Well, obviously I'm going to have to because I do all my homework for HHA.
01:03:45
Speaker
But that's going to have to be added to the list.
01:03:48
Speaker
It was a pretty fun series.
01:03:51
Speaker
Yeah, it's just one season.
01:03:52
Speaker
It was a pretty fun series.
01:03:53
Speaker
I don't think there was a ton of episodes.
01:03:55
Speaker
But even if you just watch the first episode, you'll kind of understand what's going on.
01:03:59
Speaker
It's like they're in a vault, right?
01:04:01
Speaker
It's like some apocalyptic stuff.
01:04:02
Speaker
Somebody has to leave and go out into the world.
01:04:05
Speaker
They don't stay in the vault the whole show.
01:04:07
Speaker
So I imagine that they would build both halves.
01:04:10
Speaker
Like you would probably start in the vault and then break out and then see kind of like the outside world.
01:04:16
Speaker
Cool.
01:04:16
Speaker
And this thumbs up guy is like, there's a guy, right?
01:04:21
Speaker
There's like a guy that puts his thumb up.
01:04:24
Speaker
And I looked up what that was for.
01:04:25
Speaker
And it says, if the radioactive mushroom cloud does not exceed the size of your thumb, it means that you are out of immediate danger and should start moving away.
01:04:33
Speaker
However, if it looks bigger, you are sadly within lethal range and there's not much you can do.
01:04:38
Speaker
So I guess it's like this little guy pops up to kind of show...
01:04:43
Speaker
whether or not you're safe or in danger.
01:04:46
Speaker
Now the show is based on the video game, right?
01:04:50
Speaker
Yeah.
01:04:50
Speaker
Yes.
01:04:50
Speaker
Okay.
01:04:52
Speaker
Yep.
01:04:53
Speaker
So I guess it could not be based on the show and it could be based on the video game too.
01:04:57
Speaker
We don't really know.
01:04:57
Speaker
Yeah, I was wondering that.
01:04:59
Speaker
But I feel like... It's like The Last of Us.
01:05:01
Speaker
Yeah.
01:05:02
Speaker
I feel like that kind of limits the...
01:05:06
Speaker
hype in a way, like you're really limiting the crowd of people that are like hardcore fans to like gamers, which like I'm sure there are a ton of out there and obviously like Last of Us did really well, but I feel like the general horror fan may not be like somebody playing video games.
01:05:22
Speaker
I don't know.
01:05:23
Speaker
I just, I don't know.
01:05:24
Speaker
I think there's definitely some overlap there.
01:05:26
Speaker
There's certainly overlap, but I feel like if you're trying to reach the largest audience possible, you don't like, I don't know, I guess you have to choose one or the other, right?
01:05:35
Speaker
If they're not super similar to each other, but I mean, it probably depends on licensing to, to a certain extent, but if, yeah, if I was a business person making a decision, I would pick the Amazon series because it was very, very popular.
01:05:45
Speaker
Yeah.
01:05:47
Speaker
And maybe I'm just biased because I'm not like a video game person, but yeah.
01:05:51
Speaker
I don't know.
01:05:51
Speaker
I also found in my searching when I was searching like Fallout and Poppy to see if I could tie in the code name.
01:05:59
Speaker
It said that poppies are mentioned in Fallout 2 and depicted in Fallout New Vegas.
01:06:05
Speaker
And then there's also like a producer on the show whose name is Poppy.
01:06:09
Speaker
Could be anything.
01:06:10
Speaker
I don't know.
01:06:11
Speaker
Could be a thing.
01:06:12
Speaker
Yeah.
01:06:14
Speaker
And it's shared and it's also on the Hollywood map too.
01:06:18
Speaker
So it's very likely that's the IP.
01:06:19
Speaker
That's a big IP.
01:06:21
Speaker
Yep.
01:06:21
Speaker
Right.
01:06:21
Speaker
Yeah.
01:06:22
Speaker
You would think they would definitely use it at both.
01:06:24
Speaker
It's interesting.
01:06:25
Speaker
Like when we look at the rest of the symbols, five of them, I think are shared or four of them, which like we assume are IPs, right?
01:06:33
Speaker
Cause typically if Orlando and Hollywood are both in the same year, getting the same thing, it's always been an IP.
01:06:39
Speaker
The only time they've really shared, uh,
01:06:41
Speaker
um original houses is when they've been on different years not that they can't set a new precedent sharing an original house but it's interesting in like the speculation a lot of people just assume that if there's a symbol on both maps that it's for an ip but we can't be sure i guess i guess there's really nothing else to say about that one huh yeah yeah
01:07:02
Speaker
Okay, 23A, the new symbol is, like, you don't really see the boat part of the ship, but you see the sails part of what looks to be a ship.
01:07:12
Speaker
The old symbol was, like, the dove over the lotus flower, and the codename is Snapdragon.
01:07:18
Speaker
This one is not on both maps.
01:07:21
Speaker
I feel like that soundstage is typically more of an original house.
01:07:25
Speaker
I haven't seen an IP there in a while, so I would guess it's an original.
01:07:29
Speaker
Do you guys have any thoughts on what this could be?
01:07:32
Speaker
Dead Man's Pier.
01:07:33
Speaker
I would love that.
01:07:37
Speaker
And it's a soundstage.
01:07:39
Speaker
It would be incredible.
01:07:41
Speaker
I hope.
01:07:42
Speaker
That's in my top three houses I've been in.
01:07:44
Speaker
So good.
01:07:46
Speaker
I wrote that down too.
01:07:48
Speaker
I would hope it, but I don't know the likelihood.
01:07:52
Speaker
Yeah.
01:07:53
Speaker
I mean, it's pretty distinct what it is.
01:07:57
Speaker
If it is an original, I'm not sure how else to interpret that.
01:08:02
Speaker
There's a lot of talk on Twitter about it being like Viking related.
01:08:06
Speaker
Oh, okay.
01:08:07
Speaker
Yeah.
01:08:07
Speaker
Because there was a Viking scare zone back a couple of years ago that was pretty popular, I think.
01:08:12
Speaker
I could see that.
01:08:13
Speaker
Yeah, that would make sense.
01:08:14
Speaker
Could potentially be that.
01:08:15
Speaker
Although the sales don't really look like Viking-esque.
01:08:19
Speaker
I don't know.
01:08:19
Speaker
Yeah.
01:08:20
Speaker
I think they do a little bit.
01:08:22
Speaker
It's definitely an older boat, though.
01:08:24
Speaker
It's nothing modern, whatever it is.
01:08:26
Speaker
Right.
01:08:27
Speaker
Yeah.
01:08:28
Speaker
Yeah.
01:08:29
Speaker
I thought something interesting when I was doing my Google frenzy was, um, Snapdragon is, was the name of the most successful North Carolina privateer during the war of 1812.
01:08:42
Speaker
So there was a boat called Snapdragon in history.
01:08:46
Speaker
I don't know if it has anything to do with it, but, uh, and that makes me wonder about T1.
01:08:51
Speaker
So when we get there, yeah.
01:08:55
Speaker
Yeah.
01:08:56
Speaker
So that's, I think all we have for 23A, 23B is in both maps.
01:09:01
Speaker
And this is like a, um, strip of film that is dripping.
01:09:06
Speaker
We can maybe assume that it's blood, but it's black and white.
01:09:09
Speaker
So we don't like know for sure.
01:09:13
Speaker
Um, and this was the old symbol was a Santa beard in this location.
01:09:17
Speaker
And the code name is violet.
01:09:21
Speaker
So I've seen like two major theories on this film, this film strip.
01:09:26
Speaker
Um, the first and probably more prominent one is that it is scream, which recently has picked up as a pretty heavy rumored I need to be coming.
01:09:37
Speaker
Um, and then the other one I saw is maybe Friday the 13th, both of them are slashers.
01:09:42
Speaker
So I think you could probably say it makes sense.
01:09:44
Speaker
Like just like a dripping bloody film.
01:09:49
Speaker
Um,
01:09:51
Speaker
Trying to tie it in with Violet.
01:09:53
Speaker
I couldn't find anything about the flower Violet, but the color purple is often associated with Ghostface's mask and just the slasher aesthetic.
01:10:02
Speaker
So I don't know if that's how they would tie in Violet.
01:10:05
Speaker
I don't know.
01:10:06
Speaker
What do you guys think?
01:10:07
Speaker
I don't know.
01:10:08
Speaker
I think that's going to be an original one.
01:10:11
Speaker
Yeah.
01:10:13
Speaker
Oh, wait.
01:10:14
Speaker
That was the other one too, right?
01:10:15
Speaker
Yeah.
01:10:16
Speaker
Yeah.
01:10:17
Speaker
I don't know.
01:10:17
Speaker
I mean, that could happen.
01:10:18
Speaker
Who knows?
01:10:19
Speaker
Yeah.
01:10:19
Speaker
Yeah, it could be.
01:10:20
Speaker
It could.
01:10:21
Speaker
I don't know.
01:10:21
Speaker
I just... Because that's definitely... Yeah, I feel like that's going to be an IP.
01:10:25
Speaker
Because I was thinking it would be Scream, but there's another symbol that is making me think of Scream, not this one.
01:10:32
Speaker
Yeah, people said that too.
01:10:34
Speaker
Either way, and don't judge me, I'm going to have to watch Scream and Friday the 13th, I guess, because I have seen neither of them.
01:10:43
Speaker
Oh my gosh.
01:10:45
Speaker
I know.
01:10:46
Speaker
Same.
01:10:46
Speaker
No.
01:10:46
Speaker
We'll add it to the list.
01:10:47
Speaker
Yeah.
01:10:52
Speaker
Is there any discussion about this not being a filmstrip?
01:10:56
Speaker
I mean, that's what I first saw also, but I feel like there's a little bit left up to interpretation.
01:11:03
Speaker
Like windows or something.
01:11:05
Speaker
I don't know.
01:11:07
Speaker
How many are there?
01:11:07
Speaker
Do you think them being five of them has anything to do with anything?
01:11:11
Speaker
I have no idea.
01:11:13
Speaker
I think it's a filmstrip.
01:11:15
Speaker
Yeah.
01:11:15
Speaker
Yeah.
01:11:16
Speaker
Some people were saying that it would be based off of Scream 5 too.
01:11:21
Speaker
Some people were saying like, oh, there's five little things.
01:11:25
Speaker
But I don't know.
01:11:26
Speaker
There's also Stranger Things 5.
01:11:28
Speaker
Yeah.
01:11:32
Speaker
What's up with that?
01:11:33
Speaker
It's this year, right?
01:11:35
Speaker
I don't know at this point.
01:11:38
Speaker
I don't think that's going to be here this year.
01:11:40
Speaker
I don't think so either.
01:11:41
Speaker
I wish.
01:11:43
Speaker
Yeah, I got nothing for that one.
01:11:46
Speaker
It could be Jason.
01:11:48
Speaker
I saw somebody put out there that it could be Slaughter Cinema again, and I was like, that seems unlikely.
01:11:54
Speaker
I could see the tie-in to the picture, but I don't know that they would do that two years in a row.
01:11:59
Speaker
I feel like there might be a pretty strong tie-in later when we get around the map, too.
01:12:03
Speaker
Yeah.
01:12:06
Speaker
Moving on, we have 24B.
01:12:09
Speaker
I guess we are only having 10 houses this year.
01:12:11
Speaker
I don't know if anything, I think we would have seen other permits if there was going to be an 11th house.
01:12:15
Speaker
I don't think so by now.
01:12:18
Speaker
24A.
01:12:18
Speaker
24A, it has to be, some of this has to be because of Rip Ride Rocket.
01:12:21
Speaker
Like, them not utilizing all the spaces.
01:12:24
Speaker
I feel like, I don't know, we've talked about that at length before, but 24B, what a weird symbol.
01:12:29
Speaker
There's so much going on in here.
01:12:31
Speaker
I'm going to try to describe it to you guys, but you can find it on Horror Nights Nightmares Twitter.
01:12:36
Speaker
So there is a circle and inside the circle, it appears to be like cityscape, like buildings.
01:12:42
Speaker
Would you guys agree so far?
01:12:44
Speaker
And then on the outside, on the outside of the circle, there are wings, which look more like angel-esque than anything else, I would say, but wings nonetheless.
01:12:59
Speaker
And then on top of the circle, there is a demon-esque
01:13:05
Speaker
maybe animal-esque head.
01:13:09
Speaker
And then crossing the whole entire figure are two pitchfork type... Not pitchfork.
01:13:18
Speaker
What are those things called?
01:13:20
Speaker
side like the grim reaper care like the grim reaper anyways um so yeah no clue what the heck this is even there's so much going on in this um there was no symbol on the prior version of the spec map it was one of the ones that he just had a present listed there which he had for a bunch of them we assumed he just didn't know at that point um and the the code name for this one is lily
01:13:49
Speaker
It's called a scythe.
01:13:50
Speaker
I googled it.
01:13:52
Speaker
Okay, cool.
01:13:52
Speaker
Yeah.
01:13:53
Speaker
This has got to be an original.
01:13:57
Speaker
Yeah.
01:13:58
Speaker
It is not at both.
01:14:00
Speaker
It is not on both maps.
01:14:04
Speaker
Follow me on this.
01:14:05
Speaker
Okay.
01:14:06
Speaker
So earlier this year, Legacy, who we've talked about before, was dropping some hints on things.
01:14:14
Speaker
And I guess there was some rumor swirling around that there was going to be like a WWE related house centered around the Wyatt Six house.
01:14:26
Speaker
I've definitely had times in my life I've watched wrestling, but nothing recently.
01:14:32
Speaker
So I had no idea what this was at all.
01:14:34
Speaker
So I Googled that it is a play.
01:14:38
Speaker
It's spelled six, like S-I-C-K-S, but it's a play on the number six.
01:14:41
Speaker
It's like a group of wrestlers who like formed this.
01:14:45
Speaker
They had characters that were like, they wore different masks and someone wore animals.
01:14:50
Speaker
I don't really know.
01:14:50
Speaker
There's a whole thing.
01:14:51
Speaker
If you go into it about what the Wyatt Six is, I should probably ask somebody like Ricky if what's going on here.
01:14:57
Speaker
But basically the way that I could maybe tie this into the figure is...
01:15:06
Speaker
I know like on wrestling, the ring is technically a square.
01:15:10
Speaker
So like maybe not, but there's a ring.
01:15:12
Speaker
But I feel like the, what are these called, Tyler?
01:15:15
Speaker
Sky.
01:15:17
Speaker
Those guys are very WWE-esque.
01:15:21
Speaker
Like, you know, all of the different characters they have.
01:15:23
Speaker
I feel like they would have something like that.
01:15:25
Speaker
What really brought it home to me is if you look up a picture of the Wyatt Six, one of their like masks that they wear looks really similar to that head on top of...
01:15:35
Speaker
the symbol.
01:15:38
Speaker
So I don't know.
01:15:38
Speaker
And then the other thing that I saw is there is a Lily doll that one of the wrestlers, Alexis bliss carries around.
01:15:49
Speaker
It's called Lily doll.
01:15:51
Speaker
And she's rumored to have been like a late or unknown member of the Wyatt six.
01:15:59
Speaker
So I was like, Hmm,
01:16:01
Speaker
It's as good a tie-in as any.
01:16:02
Speaker
There's a lot of stuff going on in that.
01:16:05
Speaker
I mean, yeah.
01:16:09
Speaker
Ricky, I know you're listening.
01:16:11
Speaker
You're one of our five listeners.
01:16:12
Speaker
Ricky, let us know in the comments if this makes any sense.
01:16:16
Speaker
Yes, tell us.
01:16:18
Speaker
Does this make any sense?
01:16:19
Speaker
Look at the picture.
01:16:19
Speaker
Can you tie this into the Wyatt Six or anything from WWE?
01:16:23
Speaker
Please let us know.
01:16:24
Speaker
Is Lily Doll a real thing?
01:16:25
Speaker
Let us know.
01:16:28
Speaker
Do you guys have anything else?
01:16:30
Speaker
Nothing.
01:16:30
Speaker
Any thoughts?
01:16:31
Speaker
I have no idea.
01:16:33
Speaker
I will say with the photo, it's angels have been depicted differently depending on the media.
01:16:40
Speaker
So that's, it doesn't necessarily have to be like a devil head or an animal head or whatever.
01:16:44
Speaker
That could just be like their depiction of the angel head with the angel wings.
01:16:49
Speaker
So.
01:16:50
Speaker
Yeah.
01:16:51
Speaker
As far as what it could be, no clue.
01:16:53
Speaker
I'm wondering how the city ties in.
01:16:54
Speaker
I wonder what the city is all about.
01:16:55
Speaker
Yeah.
01:16:55
Speaker
Yeah, that's driving me crazy.
01:16:57
Speaker
I think, I mean, this could be one of those things where it's some convoluted, not convoluted, but like some deeper storytelling on an original house, you know, because a lot of times they'll build a whole story out and they'll tell it to you.
01:17:10
Speaker
Or attempt to.
01:17:11
Speaker
Yeah, or attempt to, exactly.
01:17:13
Speaker
Because like triplets had a very complex backstory.
01:17:16
Speaker
And I'm wondering if that's why there's so many elements to this, because they're trying to explain an original that like doesn't have a singular defining thing about it.
01:17:27
Speaker
But yeah, so maybe like the setting is a city and this demon angel character has something to do with it.
01:17:34
Speaker
Yeah, I'm curious.
01:17:37
Speaker
24B, which house was there last year?
01:17:42
Speaker
Let me look at the map.
01:17:44
Speaker
That was triplets, wasn't it?
01:17:46
Speaker
Okay, that's what I thought.
01:17:47
Speaker
So when you're entering the queue line.
01:17:49
Speaker
What's the next one?
01:17:52
Speaker
That may have been insidious, actually.
01:17:54
Speaker
Well, either way, that's kind of the same entrance there.
01:17:57
Speaker
But you're walking through the cityscape of New York when you're going through the queue line.
01:18:01
Speaker
So I don't know if that may have anything to do with it.
01:18:04
Speaker
I think it was triplets because 24A was insidious and 25 was not used.
01:18:09
Speaker
Okay, I thought it was triplets back there.
01:18:11
Speaker
Yeah, when you're going straight, you're looking at that cityscape as you're entering the queue line.
01:18:16
Speaker
So I don't know.
01:18:18
Speaker
Yeah, that's a good point.
01:18:20
Speaker
Interesting.
01:18:21
Speaker
Very complex symbol.
01:18:22
Speaker
A lot of the symbols are pretty bare bones and that one is a lot going on.
01:18:27
Speaker
I don't know why it just popped into my head, but what's the Godzilla thing with wings?
01:18:34
Speaker
Mothma?
01:18:35
Speaker
Is that what it's called?
01:18:36
Speaker
I have no idea.
01:18:37
Speaker
What if it's a flying monkey from Wicked?
01:18:40
Speaker
Oh my god.
01:18:41
Speaker
Just kidding.
01:18:45
Speaker
Wishful thinking here.
01:18:49
Speaker
I'm thinking of monsters attacking cities now.
01:18:53
Speaker
I can see it.
01:18:55
Speaker
Guys, let us know what you think.
01:18:56
Speaker
If you are a spec person, look at the map and let us know what you think about this.
01:19:01
Speaker
We're going to move on to 25, which the symbol is a magnifying glass with a ghost inside of it.
01:19:10
Speaker
This is present on both the Orlando and Hollywood maps.
01:19:12
Speaker
And the code name for this house is Poinsettia.
01:19:16
Speaker
Is this what you were thinking is Scream, Rafa?
01:19:18
Speaker
Yeah.
01:19:19
Speaker
Yeah, that's what I was thinking because obviously the ghost, ghost face, but also the production of Scream is spyglass productions.
01:19:31
Speaker
So you got the magnifying glass and then you got ghost face.
01:19:34
Speaker
I was like, that is too... But it's so obvious and I just...
01:19:39
Speaker
It just bothers me that it's a magnifying glass and not a spy glass, but I don't know how they would depict that differently anyways.
01:19:45
Speaker
But yeah, I saw a lot of, I saw a lot of people saying the same thing.
01:19:48
Speaker
I've also seen, I didn't come up with any of these myself, but I also seen people talking about conjuring.
01:19:54
Speaker
Okay.
01:19:57
Speaker
And then also some people are just saying Scooby-Doo, which would be sick.
01:20:03
Speaker
I wouldn't love that.
01:20:03
Speaker
That ran through my head just because I was thinking of who is investigating ghosts.
01:20:07
Speaker
Yeah.
01:20:07
Speaker
Yeah.
01:20:08
Speaker
Incredible.
01:20:10
Speaker
That would be a Snapchat logo to me.
01:20:14
Speaker
Yeah, it does.
01:20:15
Speaker
Just ripped it off the Snapchat and slammed it on there.
01:20:20
Speaker
If this is Scooby-Doo, we're dressing up 100%.
01:20:24
Speaker
That would be so fun.
01:20:28
Speaker
I'll be the one.
01:20:28
Speaker
Work.
01:20:35
Speaker
Yeah.
01:20:36
Speaker
I was trying to see if there was anything about Poinsettia with any of those idea.
01:20:41
Speaker
And I did see in the conjuring Poinsettia plays a significant role as a symbol of demonic presence.
01:20:46
Speaker
And it's a tool used by one of the characters to torment the family.
01:20:54
Speaker
In the movie.
01:20:54
Speaker
I don't know.
01:20:55
Speaker
I've definitely, I've seen parts of the conjuring, but I guess I've only seen like one of them.
01:20:59
Speaker
But I think there's like three of them, right?
01:21:01
Speaker
Is there one like that came out recently or is coming out or?
01:21:04
Speaker
That's what I was thinking too.
01:21:05
Speaker
There is one coming out.
01:21:06
Speaker
Oh.
01:21:07
Speaker
And I think later, either this, I think this year actually.
01:21:11
Speaker
Okay.
01:21:11
Speaker
Like the last Conjuring movie too.
01:21:13
Speaker
So.
01:21:14
Speaker
The tie in, yeah.
01:21:15
Speaker
Conjuring has been at the Six Flags parks for the past couple of years for their like Halloween thing.
01:21:20
Speaker
So I wonder if like, yeah, I don't know.
01:21:23
Speaker
If they would do it.
01:21:24
Speaker
Yeah.
01:21:25
Speaker
Yeah.
01:21:26
Speaker
I mean, they would do it 5 million times better.
01:21:29
Speaker
Yeah.
01:21:31
Speaker
Okay.
01:21:33
Speaker
Next, we are going around to Fast and Furious, which some news dropped about that since our last recording, that they are only on the permit filing for one tent space.
01:21:45
Speaker
Last year in Major Suites, they had two tents.
01:21:48
Speaker
They did previously only use one tent and part of the queue for, like, the years prior.
01:21:52
Speaker
So for, like...
01:21:55
Speaker
the double feature Blumhouse three years ago with Black Phone and whatever else was in there.
01:22:00
Speaker
And then also Chucky, they did it this way, which I feel like there was such a high praise for them doing it like they did for Sweets that I'm kind of surprised why they went back to this kind of layout, but interesting.
01:22:14
Speaker
Unless they're doing a double feature, which I think could still be possible, but the symbol that they have for this one is a security camera.
01:22:22
Speaker
It's present on both Orlando and Hollywood maps.
01:22:25
Speaker
The old symbol was a toy shelf that just to remind everybody had a doll, a rabbit, dice and blocks.
01:22:31
Speaker
And the code name is Jasmine.
01:22:35
Speaker
This one seems like it's a pretty unanimous tie in to Five Nights at Freddy's, which has been to be coming for a while.
01:22:42
Speaker
Yeah, I agree.
01:22:44
Speaker
I haven't seen that movie either.
01:22:47
Speaker
Add it to the list or any of those movies.
01:22:49
Speaker
I know there's multiple.
01:22:52
Speaker
When are we going to watch these guys?
01:22:55
Speaker
Whatever.
01:22:56
Speaker
Joey can come here whenever.
01:22:57
Speaker
Yeah.
01:22:59
Speaker
That's interesting.
01:23:01
Speaker
It's another video game turned into movie.
01:23:06
Speaker
Just like Fallout.
01:23:07
Speaker
So very interesting.
01:23:10
Speaker
I'm also like Five Nights at Freddy has gotten a lot of traction over the last couple years for speculation and is at least in certain communities.
01:23:20
Speaker
Like, I don't know what that will, but it seems to be very, very popular.
01:23:24
Speaker
So I'm curious if this is the final location for that, because the fast and a furious location tends to be subpar.
01:23:35
Speaker
So I'm wondering like, it was true.
01:23:39
Speaker
Would they really like be prepared to disappoint people on something that has had so much buildup?
01:23:45
Speaker
I don't know.
01:23:45
Speaker
I'm curious.
01:23:46
Speaker
Absolutely.
01:23:47
Speaker
I think so.
01:23:48
Speaker
I don't, I don't think it, it changes anything.
01:23:51
Speaker
I mean, I think,
01:23:53
Speaker
It's still a Blumhouse movie.
01:23:55
Speaker
And I don't think they're going to go with the video game version.
01:23:58
Speaker
I think they're going to go with the film version of it.
01:24:01
Speaker
So I don't know.
01:24:03
Speaker
I guess we'll see.
01:24:05
Speaker
I mean, I'm not particularly excited for it, but I don't know anything about it.
01:24:09
Speaker
I think I would be excited for it if I watched it.
01:24:11
Speaker
It seems to have a pretty good following.
01:24:13
Speaker
I enjoyed the movie.
01:24:15
Speaker
It was all right.
01:24:16
Speaker
It had Matthew Willard in it.
01:24:17
Speaker
I love him.
01:24:18
Speaker
Yeah.
01:24:20
Speaker
Yeah, I gotta watch it.
01:24:21
Speaker
I don't know.
01:24:23
Speaker
Do you guys think that there's still a potential that this is going to be a split Blumhouse Blumhouse double feature like they did a couple years ago?
01:24:29
Speaker
Like, I feel like they love Megan so much and for them to put a doll on that initial map, like I'm not ready to let go of the fact that Megan might be included somehow.
01:24:38
Speaker
She's just not on this.
01:24:40
Speaker
I'm wondering if that was in play earlier back in December and it's kind of no longer in play.
01:24:46
Speaker
Yeah.
01:24:47
Speaker
Cause I feel like the movie, the new movie comes out pretty soon too.
01:24:50
Speaker
So it wouldn't make sense if they added the double feature, but I don't know if it's still gonna be a thing.
01:24:56
Speaker
Interesting.
01:24:58
Speaker
That would make the ability of them to do multiple scenes from, like you were saying, Joey, like downplaying Five Nights at Freddy's.
01:25:04
Speaker
Like if they're doing the double feature, that really doesn't leave a lot of space for them to really show off that movie.
01:25:10
Speaker
So I don't know.
01:25:11
Speaker
But I did find that Jasmine is a minor character in some Five Nights at Freddy's thing.
01:25:19
Speaker
So who knows if that's...
01:25:22
Speaker
relevant or not.
01:25:23
Speaker
We're going to move around to the tents.
01:25:25
Speaker
So tent number three is the first one we hit.
01:25:28
Speaker
The symbol for this one is like an open book with a couple of snowflakes around it.
01:25:33
Speaker
And this one's code name is Tulip.
01:25:37
Speaker
Thoughts?
01:25:38
Speaker
This is not present on the Hollywood map.
01:25:39
Speaker
Just really, no.
01:25:41
Speaker
I think an original house.
01:25:43
Speaker
Yeah, for sure.
01:25:45
Speaker
Yeah.
01:25:47
Speaker
I'm curious if this is a Slaughter Cinema spinoff.
01:25:52
Speaker
Could be.
01:25:52
Speaker
I was thinking, what if they did, what if the book represents like scary tales, but it's like winter-y?
01:25:59
Speaker
It could be.
01:26:00
Speaker
Like winter scary tales?
01:26:03
Speaker
Yeah.
01:26:03
Speaker
Or like Christmas-y scary tales?
01:26:05
Speaker
I don't know.
01:26:07
Speaker
That's all I could really think of.
01:26:10
Speaker
Yeah, it's really hard to predict any original houses with these symbols.
01:26:14
Speaker
It's like, okay, what do we think it could be about?
01:26:16
Speaker
Yeah, definitely something winter-y.
01:26:19
Speaker
Yeah.
01:26:23
Speaker
That's all we got.
01:26:25
Speaker
Tent four.
01:26:26
Speaker
This one is present on both maps.
01:26:32
Speaker
It is the new symbol is a picture of two sacks.
01:26:36
Speaker
And the old symbol was a ghost with a string of five lights.
01:26:40
Speaker
And the symbol is a daisy.
01:26:42
Speaker
And I feel like this has to be terrifier.
01:26:44
Speaker
And I am so psyched now that I've seen these.
01:26:46
Speaker
See, I just need to watch all these movies.
01:26:48
Speaker
Yeah, I've watched this one.
01:26:50
Speaker
I know.
01:26:51
Speaker
I'm obsessed with Art the Clown.
01:26:52
Speaker
And he wears the daisy glasses.
01:26:54
Speaker
You guys, what's happening in this has to be right.
01:26:56
Speaker
And honestly, I feel like this movie is going to be great in one of those tents.
01:27:00
Speaker
For sure.
01:27:01
Speaker
Yeah, I think so.
01:27:02
Speaker
Yeah.
01:27:02
Speaker
Yeah.
01:27:03
Speaker
I don't really see it being like a zombie.
01:27:04
Speaker
If we had to watch the movie, that trash bag would make no sense.
01:27:09
Speaker
Right.
01:27:09
Speaker
Yeah.
01:27:11
Speaker
I feel like the tents allow you to feel much more claustrophobic, which is like needed for this kind of house for sure.
01:27:17
Speaker
Yeah.
01:27:18
Speaker
Yeah.
01:27:19
Speaker
I'll be very curious if they choose to represent all of the films or the latest film or what.
01:27:23
Speaker
Yeah.
01:27:26
Speaker
I kind of hope they do like a best of scares type thing like they did with using it insidious this past year.
01:27:32
Speaker
Like I feel like that's the best way to do it.
01:27:34
Speaker
I think I would include like the most gore.
01:27:37
Speaker
Yeah.
01:27:37
Speaker
Yeah.
01:27:39
Speaker
Yeah.
01:27:39
Speaker
It's going to be so good.
01:27:40
Speaker
I'm excited.
01:27:41
Speaker
Okay.
01:27:42
Speaker
We all think that right.
01:27:43
Speaker
We all think.
01:27:44
Speaker
Yeah.
01:27:45
Speaker
I think so.
01:27:47
Speaker
Cool.
01:27:48
Speaker
Tent one, the new symbol, this is only on the Orlando map.
01:27:52
Speaker
It's like a set of eyes where there's one eye is covered with like an eye patch over a chain.
01:28:00
Speaker
And the code name is Carnation.
01:28:03
Speaker
And I feel like I've seen a lot of people say this, but I thought it myself too is Hatchet and Chains, which was one of the movies in slaughter cinema this past year.
01:28:11
Speaker
It was the Spaghetti Western.
01:28:12
Speaker
Yeah.
01:28:13
Speaker
I feel like that is a unique, like the Western theme is like not something that's been like super represented at HHN, like at least in recent years.
01:28:22
Speaker
So I feel like I'm kind of surprised.
01:28:25
Speaker
I would be surprised if that's the movie that they picked from all of the ones in slaughter cinema to represent.
01:28:31
Speaker
And I'm also surprised if they're doing it like the right, the year right after that.
01:28:35
Speaker
Like I thought maybe there would be some time, but I can't really think of anything else that would be other than just like some original thing that I can't put together.
01:28:44
Speaker
Yeah.
01:28:44
Speaker
Well, I know that Yeti was the year after the first Slaughter Cinema.
01:28:48
Speaker
Was it?
01:28:48
Speaker
It was right after?
01:28:49
Speaker
Yeah, that makes sense then.
01:28:50
Speaker
So I think that's how they're doing it.
01:28:51
Speaker
I think they're doing like Slaughter Cinema every other year and this using one of the little cinema, one of the little movies that they put in there.
01:28:59
Speaker
I don't remember that at all from Slaughter Cinema.
01:29:02
Speaker
I don't either.
01:29:03
Speaker
I don't either.
01:29:04
Speaker
I really don't either.
01:29:06
Speaker
I feel like I remember like the beginning.
01:29:08
Speaker
I remember the poster.
01:29:09
Speaker
I don't remember what happened.
01:29:09
Speaker
Christmas.
01:29:11
Speaker
So if you look at the poster, those eyeballs are like exactly the poster.
01:29:16
Speaker
Oh, really?
01:29:16
Speaker
Yeah.
01:29:17
Speaker
Yes.
01:29:19
Speaker
The poster, like if you Google it, there's like the horror fans Wikipedia page.
01:29:23
Speaker
It's literally like copy and paste of that, of those eyeballs with the patch.
01:29:29
Speaker
Oh, yeah.
01:29:31
Speaker
Interesting.
01:29:33
Speaker
I mean, that seems pretty likely then.
01:29:37
Speaker
Yeah.
01:29:38
Speaker
It could be very well executed.
01:29:40
Speaker
I like the theme and I feel like it could be a really good house and a tent over there.
01:29:44
Speaker
It's just like, I don't, like you said, it wasn't memorable for me.
01:29:48
Speaker
I know a lot of people liked it in slaughter cinema, but I like remember the blood and chum with the giant shark.
01:29:54
Speaker
I remember the Mardi Gras and the Christmas.
01:29:56
Speaker
I remember the mummy strippers.
01:29:58
Speaker
And I remember like,
01:30:00
Speaker
some of the Zyborg stuff toward the end.
01:30:02
Speaker
And that's like kind of all that I can recall.
01:30:05
Speaker
So I'm surprised, but.
01:30:09
Speaker
I'm going to have to like rewatch a POV if those exist.
01:30:12
Speaker
They do exist.
01:30:14
Speaker
They're a little choppy, but yeah.
01:30:17
Speaker
Yeah.
01:30:18
Speaker
Well, it looks like, I mean, that seems like a concept that you can expand on compared to some of the other.
01:30:23
Speaker
I think Western could be really fun.
01:30:25
Speaker
Yeah.
01:30:25
Speaker
Yeah.
01:30:27
Speaker
Yeah.
01:30:30
Speaker
Cool.
01:30:30
Speaker
Last tent, tent two.
01:30:31
Speaker
There is, how would you describe this?
01:30:34
Speaker
Like a puffy space robot thing?
01:30:39
Speaker
Yeah.
01:30:40
Speaker
I mean, it looks like a space suit.
01:30:42
Speaker
It does look like a robot.
01:30:43
Speaker
It could be a human.
01:30:44
Speaker
I don't know.
01:30:45
Speaker
Like a mix between the Michelin man and an astronaut.
01:30:49
Speaker
Yeah.
01:30:49
Speaker
Literally.
01:30:50
Speaker
That's so accurate.
01:30:52
Speaker
So accurate.
01:30:54
Speaker
The code name for this house was Iris.
01:30:56
Speaker
And I was thinking, not that they would ever do two houses from Slaughter Cinema, but what if we're thinking about Zyborgs?
01:31:04
Speaker
Aren't their eyes always glowing?
01:31:06
Speaker
Like Iris, I...
01:31:07
Speaker
They have like glowing blue eyes.
01:31:09
Speaker
That's all I got.
01:31:12
Speaker
Yeah.
01:31:12
Speaker
I mean, obviously some kind of space alien, something.
01:31:16
Speaker
I'm here for some, I'm here for some outer space.
01:31:19
Speaker
Robot sci-fi.
01:31:21
Speaker
I was like thinking like, is there a movie that like, like a ship is called Iris?
01:31:27
Speaker
Like it has to be something like that.
01:31:29
Speaker
I was like, it's gotta be.
01:31:31
Speaker
Hmm.
01:31:32
Speaker
I don't know.
01:31:32
Speaker
Something definitely something sci-fi for sure.
01:31:34
Speaker
With that little symbol.
01:31:36
Speaker
But I don't see anything.
01:31:37
Speaker
I'm into it.
01:31:38
Speaker
I'm very down for that.
01:31:39
Speaker
We didn't get any of that really last year.
01:31:41
Speaker
Yeah.
01:31:43
Speaker
Yeah.
01:31:45
Speaker
Besides Cyborg, like the one room.
01:31:47
Speaker
Either way, I love originals.
01:31:49
Speaker
I mean, like they do IPs really well, but I feel like pretty excited about like the thought of like a space, a Western and like a nautical.
01:31:57
Speaker
Yeah.
01:31:59
Speaker
group of original type themes.
01:32:02
Speaker
Like I like when things are really different like that.
01:32:04
Speaker
And very, I'm wondering like how they'll tie it in together.
01:32:06
Speaker
Like what would be the theme?
01:32:08
Speaker
Like if we have icons again, like what would that be?
01:32:11
Speaker
Oh, true.
01:32:12
Speaker
Oh God, that's so hard.
01:32:13
Speaker
Art the clown.
01:32:14
Speaker
No, they would never, they don't do IP as well.
01:32:18
Speaker
Yeah, no, not really, but, but I love me some art, the clown and his, I cannot wait to see how they like have the scare actors be him.
01:32:28
Speaker
It's going to be fun.
01:32:31
Speaker
I saw something about Usher returning as an icon, which could mean that the bloody film strip is an original tied to that.
01:32:42
Speaker
Yeah, I mean, that could be.
01:32:43
Speaker
There was the first year that I went to Horror Nights, I think it was 09.
01:32:48
Speaker
It was the Usher's year.
01:32:49
Speaker
And they had a house that was called Silver Screams, which was basically like a slaughter cinema, but it was with actual like known films.
01:32:58
Speaker
Like they had the Strangers in there.
01:33:00
Speaker
They had the Phantom of the Opera in there.
01:33:04
Speaker
They had like a bunch of different- The like Trail of Terror.
01:33:07
Speaker
Yeah, basically.
01:33:08
Speaker
It was like that.
01:33:09
Speaker
Yeah.
01:33:11
Speaker
In universal house form.
01:33:12
Speaker
But yeah, it was basically that.
01:33:14
Speaker
So it could be.
01:33:15
Speaker
That could be what that symbol is for.
01:33:16
Speaker
That could be interesting.
01:33:18
Speaker
I feel like that's more of a unifying mascot.
01:33:22
Speaker
Yeah.
01:33:25
Speaker
I love when there's a unifying theme.
01:33:26
Speaker
We talked about this a lot when we like.
01:33:28
Speaker
Yeah.
01:33:29
Speaker
Have talked about it.
01:33:29
Speaker
And it does seem like there's a lot of film related IP this year.
01:33:33
Speaker
I don't know.
01:33:34
Speaker
I guess we'll wait and see.
01:33:36
Speaker
Yeah.
01:33:37
Speaker
So exciting.
01:33:38
Speaker
I wonder if they're going to like give us anything soon.
01:33:40
Speaker
I feel like they have to drop one of the houses soon for sure.
01:33:43
Speaker
When did they drop the first one last year?
01:33:46
Speaker
It was weird last year.
01:33:47
Speaker
It was like they did it kind of later last year.
01:33:50
Speaker
It was late and all of them at once.
01:33:52
Speaker
Yeah.
01:33:53
Speaker
Normally they drop the first like house like in March or April.
01:33:58
Speaker
So, I mean, hopefully that's the case in here.
01:34:00
Speaker
I wonder what they're going to do first.
01:34:02
Speaker
I feel like it has to be one of these ones that's like definitely like clear, like.
01:34:08
Speaker
Yeah.
01:34:09
Speaker
Right.
01:34:10
Speaker
One of the obvious IPs, I think.
01:34:12
Speaker
Yeah.
01:34:12
Speaker
Fallout probably.
01:34:15
Speaker
Yeah, that'll get people talking right away.
01:34:16
Speaker
But if they post something tomorrow, Kelly, ignore it.
01:34:19
Speaker
I'm going to come back in here and I'm going to edit the episode and talk about it.
01:34:25
Speaker
And by me, I mean not me.
01:34:27
Speaker
I'm going to have somebody else help me and do it.
01:34:31
Speaker
I think he means it won't be real.
01:34:33
Speaker
It won't be real tomorrow, Kelly.

Concepts for New Disney Park Lands

01:34:36
Speaker
Today is March 31st.
01:34:38
Speaker
Oh, oh, oh, oh.
01:34:40
Speaker
Oh my God.
01:34:41
Speaker
I've already seen that.
01:34:42
Speaker
I'm not getting it.
01:34:42
Speaker
I'm so goalful.
01:34:43
Speaker
Oh my God.
01:34:45
Speaker
Nobody talk to me tomorrow.
01:34:47
Speaker
Somebody text her.
01:34:48
Speaker
They dropped a house tomorrow.
01:34:50
Speaker
Nobody mess with me.
01:34:54
Speaker
This episode won't be out yet.
01:34:56
Speaker
So I guess it will have been in the past.
01:34:58
Speaker
It's fine.
01:35:00
Speaker
Okay, hopefully I made it through.
01:35:02
Speaker
I don't know when this will drop because usually record later in the week.
01:35:04
Speaker
I'll have to ask the powers that be.
01:35:07
Speaker
It would be great if it was available before this weekend for people's travel because who knows when TDR will drop.
01:35:12
Speaker
Yeah, I say we drop it by Wednesday.
01:35:14
Speaker
Listen to us on your travel to Northern California.
01:35:17
Speaker
Our episode will be available.
01:35:22
Speaker
Anyways, questions.
01:35:25
Speaker
Are we done talking about HHN?
01:35:26
Speaker
I could go on forever.
01:35:28
Speaker
I think so.
01:35:28
Speaker
Okay.
01:35:29
Speaker
Okay.
01:35:30
Speaker
So we're going to move on to questions.
01:35:32
Speaker
We have a couple.
01:35:33
Speaker
We only took questions from discord today.
01:35:35
Speaker
I figured that this episode would be a little bit lengthy.
01:35:37
Speaker
So we'll try to get through as many of these as we can.
01:35:41
Speaker
The first question is from Gary.
01:35:43
Speaker
He said, which venue makes for a better place to watch included special event concerts, the open space in front of Rip Ride Rocket during Mardi Gras at Universal or the amphitheater in the American Pavilion in Epcot?
01:35:58
Speaker
I'm not going to lie.
01:36:00
Speaker
The Pavilion is nice.
01:36:01
Speaker
It's like a pretty large sized amphitheater, like in the middle of Epcot, like right on the lagoon there.
01:36:07
Speaker
It's really nice.
01:36:08
Speaker
I'm not gonna lie to you.
01:36:09
Speaker
I've been to Disney a lot and I've never actually sat for a show there.
01:36:13
Speaker
I usually would like stop if I saw something maybe going on but not like stay the entirety of the show.
01:36:20
Speaker
I feel like in Epcot I'm always like just trying to get through everything in one day.
01:36:23
Speaker
Like I always want to see all of the countries and like see what's going on so that just doesn't seem high on my priority list but
01:36:30
Speaker
It's a nice, pretty location right on the water.
01:36:33
Speaker
I would say more picturesque than the theater that's outside of Rip Red Rocket.
01:36:38
Speaker
I wonder how that's going to be affected by the ride coming down too.
01:36:41
Speaker
Right.
01:36:41
Speaker
That's what I was thinking too.
01:36:44
Speaker
I've never seen a concert there, but I would love to go to some of the Universal concerts and say the Mardi Gras artists seemed pretty legit this year.
01:36:52
Speaker
Yeah.
01:36:53
Speaker
There were some really good ones.
01:36:54
Speaker
They were pretty good this year.
01:36:55
Speaker
I mean, I wish I went to more, but we only went to the all-time low one, but I heard that they had
01:37:00
Speaker
They had T-Pain earlier in the season.
01:37:03
Speaker
I think they finished with TLC.
01:37:06
Speaker
Who else was there?
01:37:07
Speaker
I don't know.
01:37:07
Speaker
They had a pretty solid lineup for this year.
01:37:10
Speaker
I like their concert viewing area.
01:37:14
Speaker
I do like how in the back
01:37:16
Speaker
you do get like projectors.
01:37:18
Speaker
So like, you don't have to be close to see what's going on.
01:37:21
Speaker
So I do like that.
01:37:22
Speaker
I don't know if Epcot does the same thing where you can see, you know, the show on screens from the back, but it's not as big.
01:37:29
Speaker
It's kind of like wider and it's in like, um, like, uh, I guess, what is the word I'm trying to say?
01:37:37
Speaker
It's like an amphitheater, right?
01:37:39
Speaker
Yeah.
01:37:40
Speaker
Okay.
01:37:40
Speaker
Yeah.
01:37:40
Speaker
So you can like see, even if you're in the back where I think you're at,
01:37:44
Speaker
This is all like general just standings.
01:37:47
Speaker
Right.
01:37:47
Speaker
Yeah.
01:37:48
Speaker
It's just like an open field basically.
01:37:49
Speaker
And you're just at Universal.
01:37:52
Speaker
Yeah.
01:37:52
Speaker
Does Universal, does the sound just bleed into the entire park during concert days?
01:37:59
Speaker
I don't know.
01:38:00
Speaker
I mean, I've always.
01:38:01
Speaker
You would have to.
01:38:02
Speaker
It's just so open.
01:38:04
Speaker
Yeah.
01:38:05
Speaker
I mean, we, we've never been far out during the shows.
01:38:08
Speaker
We've always, you know, made it to the show on time.
01:38:10
Speaker
Right.
01:38:11
Speaker
Yeah.
01:38:12
Speaker
But I would think so.
01:38:14
Speaker
It does get pretty loud.
01:38:15
Speaker
Yeah.
01:38:16
Speaker
So, yeah, I don't know.
01:38:18
Speaker
And that's included, right?
01:38:20
Speaker
In your ticket for the day?
01:38:21
Speaker
That is sick.
01:38:22
Speaker
Yeah, I love that.
01:38:23
Speaker
Yeah, so you have it.
01:38:24
Speaker
Yeah, as long as you have a daytime ticket, you have access to the concert.
01:38:27
Speaker
At least the one lowest one.
01:38:31
Speaker
It might be the two lowest season passes.
01:38:33
Speaker
You're blocked out on concert days, though.
01:38:36
Speaker
Right.
01:38:37
Speaker
Yeah.
01:38:39
Speaker
Cause what is it?
01:38:39
Speaker
It's the seasonal pass.
01:38:41
Speaker
Seasonal pass.
01:38:41
Speaker
I know is not included.
01:38:43
Speaker
Yeah.
01:38:43
Speaker
I have season.
01:38:44
Speaker
So I know that's not included.
01:38:46
Speaker
Because Shay actually has the power pass, which I think is the second lowest.
01:38:51
Speaker
And she has access to enter studios at five o'clock.
01:38:55
Speaker
So she can make it for the concert only on concert days.
01:38:58
Speaker
Interesting.
01:39:00
Speaker
Yeah.
01:39:00
Speaker
So, I mean, it would be that way, but great.
01:39:04
Speaker
Yeah.
01:39:05
Speaker
Yeah, totally.
01:39:06
Speaker
But it's a lot of fun.

Universal Mardi Gras and Disney Character Favorites

01:39:12
Speaker
Our next question is from Dustin.
01:39:14
Speaker
He said, what was your favorite food item from Universal Mardi Gras?
01:39:20
Speaker
It's all you, Rafa.
01:39:21
Speaker
Yeah, I didn't try any.
01:39:23
Speaker
I only tried the food at Pied O'Brien's.
01:39:25
Speaker
We ate too much.
01:39:26
Speaker
But do you see that they mentioned the Colombian burger, which did look very good.
01:39:31
Speaker
But yeah, like I said, we didn't try any food.
01:39:34
Speaker
Yeah, he said the Colombian burger was surprisingly delicious.
01:39:36
Speaker
That does sound good.
01:39:37
Speaker
He also asked what your favorite aspect from the Tribute store was.
01:39:41
Speaker
Did you go?
01:39:42
Speaker
So we did check it out.
01:39:44
Speaker
This one felt smaller because they didn't have it in the usual location.
01:39:47
Speaker
I know that now they kind of have it going back and forth because they have the tribute store location, which is right next to the mummy.
01:39:55
Speaker
And then the other one is by the Passholder Lounge over at right across from Bourne Centacular.
01:40:06
Speaker
So around that area.
01:40:08
Speaker
So that's where it is for this year's Mardi Gras.
01:40:11
Speaker
And I mean, it looked really cool.
01:40:12
Speaker
I mean, it, I do, I do like about it's of the theming, that area is so small that the theming feels a lot more immersive because like you're like, everything is kind of crammed in there.
01:40:22
Speaker
So, I mean, everything was pretty cool in there, but I mean, when it comes to Mardi Gras, like there isn't much like when it comes to not much, but there's not much that changes.
01:40:32
Speaker
Yeah.
01:40:32
Speaker
So it's all Bayou themed and that's about it, but very cool overall, very swampy.
01:40:41
Speaker
So it's cool.
01:40:43
Speaker
Cool.
01:40:45
Speaker
Kim asked, what was your favorite Topia area at Epcot, like character?
01:40:52
Speaker
I didn't like specifically pay attention to a ton of them this time because we had limited hours at the park and we were kind of trying to get to as many food booths as possible and ride the rides.
01:41:02
Speaker
But of the ones that we passed, I really liked the Lion King one.
01:41:07
Speaker
baby Simba that was being held up by Rafiki even had like the little like thing on his the little like paint on his forehead like represented in the flowers I was like that is so good like who's doing this he's thinking about this um so I like that one the most I would say of the ones I saw um and then says she also asked also just curious in general of your favorite all-time Disney character hers is Remy this is a really hard question for me I don't know if you guys have answers
01:41:37
Speaker
That is tough.
01:41:39
Speaker
I might say Aladdin.
01:41:42
Speaker
Love that movie.
01:41:42
Speaker
Yeah.
01:41:44
Speaker
It's classic.
01:41:46
Speaker
I will say I always loved Cinderella the most like in my childhood because that was like the first Disney princess movie I watched.
01:41:52
Speaker
And I was like, Oh, I have blonde hair like her.
01:41:55
Speaker
And like when you're little, like that's the most important thing is like looking like the person on the screen.
01:41:59
Speaker
So I always like loved Cinderella.
01:42:01
Speaker
Do I love that story now?
01:42:03
Speaker
Not so much, but I do love Cinderella's castle.
01:42:09
Speaker
So I think that would have been my answer like a while ago.
01:42:11
Speaker
I think more recently, um,
01:42:14
Speaker
I really liked Rapunzel.
01:42:16
Speaker
I don't know why I'm just naming princesses, but I love Tangled.
01:42:20
Speaker
I just love that movie so much.
01:42:23
Speaker
I really like Dory from Finding Nemo.
01:42:28
Speaker
Love Dory.
01:42:29
Speaker
Love Dory.
01:42:31
Speaker
I love Emperor's New Groove.
01:42:33
Speaker
I don't know if you guys like that movie.
01:42:34
Speaker
I know a lot of people hate on it, but I love Emperor's New Groove.
01:42:37
Speaker
Oh, that's a great movie.
01:42:39
Speaker
I love it.
01:42:41
Speaker
And I'm like, what?
01:42:43
Speaker
It's such a fun movie.
01:42:44
Speaker
yeah yzma is hilarious and that so many good movies oh my gosh yeah and i love all villains always so yeah good question um cpred asks if disney this is a this is a hard question if disney built a new park similar to epic universe what would be the five lands you would like to see them build we should have prepared more um i don't know this is really hard
01:43:14
Speaker
I have one I was thinking of.
01:43:17
Speaker
I don't know if we'll get to five, but like, I don't even know what you would call it.
01:43:22
Speaker
Like a dark Harry Potter.
01:43:24
Speaker
Something like that.
01:43:25
Speaker
So it'd be like Department of Mysteries, an expanded Nocturne Alley, Forbidden Forest, the graveyard where Cedric died and Goblet of Fire.
01:43:38
Speaker
I think something like that would be so cool.
01:43:40
Speaker
You think Disney would do that?
01:43:46
Speaker
Yeah, I don't know.
01:43:50
Speaker
I thought we were supposed to be doing Disney IP, but if we could do anything...
01:43:54
Speaker
Oh, Disney.
01:43:56
Speaker
Tyler's going dark.
01:43:58
Speaker
I'm like real dark.
01:43:59
Speaker
Universal could do that, but this is the Disney part.
01:44:03
Speaker
But anyways, that's still my answer.
01:44:04
Speaker
Maybe Disney would be cool.
01:44:06
Speaker
Yeah.
01:44:08
Speaker
I don't know if like, are we just choosing?
01:44:11
Speaker
So when you think about like lands at Disney parks, there's not really like lands for specific movies.
01:44:17
Speaker
Like I think that's what we're being asked here though.
01:44:19
Speaker
Really?
01:44:20
Speaker
Because the way that Epic is built, like each one is a portal.
01:44:23
Speaker
So you'd want it to be a portal into a world and like what worlds could they build out in that way?
01:44:28
Speaker
Yeah, I agree.
01:44:29
Speaker
But I feel like it would need to be a world that could incorporate like potentially multiple movies or similar movies.
01:44:36
Speaker
Yeah.
01:44:36
Speaker
I think the closest thing I can think of is what they're doing at Animal Kingdom and what used to be Dinoland and making that like.
01:44:43
Speaker
I don't know what they're, I forget what they're calling it, but they're having like Encanto back there.
01:44:49
Speaker
It's like a whole South American thing, no?
01:44:52
Speaker
Yeah, so I feel like they could put, they should include Coco.
01:44:56
Speaker
Coco needs more representation.
01:45:01
Speaker
Oh my God.
01:45:02
Speaker
I watch that movie as much as humanly possible.
01:45:04
Speaker
When my kids don't know what to put on, I'm like, Coco.
01:45:06
Speaker
And I cry every single time, even though I know exactly what's happening.
01:45:11
Speaker
I love that movie so much.
01:45:16
Speaker
Yeah, I don't know.
01:45:16
Speaker
I think if we're trying to incorporate, like, villains is coming, apparently, to Magic Kingdom.
01:45:22
Speaker
That would, like, be my first answer always because I like spooky stuff.
01:45:27
Speaker
I'd be like, yeah, just do Dark Universe but with Disney villains.
01:45:31
Speaker
Basically.
01:45:32
Speaker
I was thinking of, like, weird ones.
01:45:33
Speaker
I'm wondering if they could do anything silly with, like, Inside Out and the crazy, like, inner thought lands that they created for that.
01:45:41
Speaker
Oh, yeah.
01:45:42
Speaker
Or...
01:45:43
Speaker
What was the other one I was just thinking of?
01:45:46
Speaker
Oh, WALL-E.
01:45:47
Speaker
That would be a fun world to create.
01:45:51
Speaker
I think Tron would look badass at night.
01:45:52
Speaker
If you had a whole Tron land, that would look really cool at night.
01:45:57
Speaker
It could almost be like a new age Tomorrowland portal with the sci-fi stuff that they've done.
01:46:04
Speaker
Like WALL-E and Tron and stuff.
01:46:06
Speaker
I love the idea of Inside Out.
01:46:08
Speaker
I'm still thinking about what you said, Joey, where they could make a whole area about different emotions and the different emotions could have different rides.
01:46:16
Speaker
I am here for that.
01:46:17
Speaker
That would be really cool, actually.
01:46:19
Speaker
Super fun.
01:46:21
Speaker
Sign me up.
01:46:22
Speaker
You could do a lot with Toy Story also, I think.
01:46:25
Speaker
Just build all of Metropolis.
01:46:28
Speaker
Yeah.
01:46:29
Speaker
Easy.
01:46:29
Speaker
I know they've got a couple things in the works or at least one thing in the works for Toy Story.
01:46:33
Speaker
Yeah, I think that'd be a cool land.
01:46:37
Speaker
I would build an entire Twilight Zone.
01:46:42
Speaker
Whoa.
01:46:43
Speaker
Just take the Tower of Terror theme and make it a whole land.
01:46:46
Speaker
Oh my God.
01:46:47
Speaker
I would love that.
01:46:49
Speaker
I'm here for that.
01:46:50
Speaker
I definitely have to rewatch those episodes.
01:46:54
Speaker
Yeah.
01:46:54
Speaker
I remember my dad was so into that.
01:46:57
Speaker
I like watch them so young.
01:46:58
Speaker
I have like very distinct memories of like some of the episodes.
01:47:02
Speaker
So weird.
01:47:02
Speaker
I need to like go back and watch them.
01:47:04
Speaker
Add it to the list.
01:47:05
Speaker
Yeah.
01:47:08
Speaker
Okay, really exciting.
01:47:09
Speaker
We're going to do a blind ranking.

2025 Coasters Blind Ranking

01:47:11
Speaker
I'm going to pull them up.
01:47:11
Speaker
This is from Ethan and it is a blind ranking of the new for 2025 coasters, I believe.
01:47:24
Speaker
So I will reveal them.
01:47:26
Speaker
I'll just tell us what they are in order.
01:47:29
Speaker
And there are one, two, three, four, five of them.
01:47:32
Speaker
So I'm sure if you guys listen to TDR, I don't know if you do, but they do blind rankings all the time.
01:47:38
Speaker
Do you know how this works?
01:47:40
Speaker
Yep.
01:47:41
Speaker
Okay, cool.
01:47:42
Speaker
All right.
01:47:43
Speaker
The first one is Alpenfury.
01:47:46
Speaker
Are we saying where we're putting it right now?
01:47:54
Speaker
Oh, yeah.
01:47:54
Speaker
Yeah.
01:47:55
Speaker
You have to.
01:47:55
Speaker
Oh, yeah.
01:47:56
Speaker
I'll put it at a solid three.
01:48:00
Speaker
I'll put it at two.
01:48:02
Speaker
I'm going to, I'm writing this down.
01:48:06
Speaker
Yeah.
01:48:06
Speaker
I'm scared.
01:48:08
Speaker
I am scared about what's coming.
01:48:11
Speaker
Exactly.
01:48:11
Speaker
But I'm going to go with three.
01:48:13
Speaker
I'm going to go solid middle of the road.
01:48:15
Speaker
Yeah.
01:48:16
Speaker
Okay.
01:48:17
Speaker
Ready for number two, three, two, one.
01:48:21
Speaker
Oh, Stardust Racers.
01:48:26
Speaker
So this is the most exciting one that is accessible to me.
01:48:31
Speaker
So I don't know what else he's going to put on this list, but I want to say one because I love mock and I feel like I'm really going to love these, but I'm also afraid that there's going to be something better in here.
01:48:43
Speaker
Whatever.
01:48:43
Speaker
I'm going to say one.
01:48:44
Speaker
I'm saying one.
01:48:45
Speaker
Cause I'm not going to ride whatever six flags could I have has.
01:48:50
Speaker
Oh, I didn't even think about that.
01:48:51
Speaker
I'm putting one anyway.
01:48:53
Speaker
And you already wrote it, so that's easier for you.
01:48:57
Speaker
I'm going two.
01:49:00
Speaker
I'm holding my one.
01:49:01
Speaker
I think there's going to be something better.
01:49:02
Speaker
I'm going one.
01:49:03
Speaker
All right, here we go.
01:49:08
Speaker
Number three.
01:49:09
Speaker
Siren's Curse.
01:49:12
Speaker
I'm going to probably screw myself, but I think I'm going to say two because I feel like I'm going to like it more than Alpenpuri.
01:49:19
Speaker
We love New Age Vekoma in this household.
01:49:24
Speaker
Yeah, I forgot about this, right?
01:49:26
Speaker
I have to go three at this point, but I probably would have put it at two.
01:49:28
Speaker
I already used my three and it's not going to be one.
01:49:32
Speaker
So I got to go four.
01:49:36
Speaker
Okay, so you have one in five left, Tyler.
01:49:38
Speaker
Yeah, I have one in five.
01:49:40
Speaker
Okay, and we all have four and five, right?
01:49:42
Speaker
Four and five.
01:49:43
Speaker
Oh, no.
01:49:43
Speaker
Let's go.
01:49:43
Speaker
Okay.
01:49:44
Speaker
This will be interesting.
01:49:46
Speaker
This next one is a really short block.
01:49:48
Speaker
I know.
01:49:48
Speaker
I'm like, what is that?
01:49:50
Speaker
It's probably Yoy.
01:49:52
Speaker
Oh.
01:49:53
Speaker
Nope.
01:49:54
Speaker
It's Helios.
01:49:55
Speaker
Helios.
01:49:57
Speaker
Honestly.
01:49:58
Speaker
I'm going to say four because I love Voltron, but that is rattled my brain to its core.
01:50:06
Speaker
Yeah.
01:50:07
Speaker
I'm good with four.
01:50:09
Speaker
Yeah, same.
01:50:10
Speaker
It looks great, but it's a short layout.
01:50:13
Speaker
Well, it's sure not my one, so...
01:50:17
Speaker
Okay, so we have Tyler's number one upcoming and our number five.
01:50:22
Speaker
Here we go.
01:50:23
Speaker
Here we go.
01:50:26
Speaker
Three, two, one.
01:50:27
Speaker
Falcon's flight.
01:50:31
Speaker
Thanks, Ethan.
01:50:32
Speaker
That was really fun.
01:50:34
Speaker
No mention of Reptera, which we have talked about.
01:50:39
Speaker
No mention of Flash.
01:50:40
Speaker
I was holding out for Reptera as number five.
01:50:43
Speaker
Damn.
01:50:44
Speaker
I am going to ride...
01:50:46
Speaker
Joy.
01:50:48
Speaker
Joy.
01:50:49
Speaker
Joy.
01:50:50
Speaker
So I was obviously, I was obviously holding out for Falcon's flight, but top thrill two would have been acceptable also.
01:50:55
Speaker
I don't know if that was going to be for this year or not, but.
01:50:59
Speaker
Would you put that over Stardust Racers?
01:51:02
Speaker
Not me.
01:51:04
Speaker
Did we lose him?
01:51:05
Speaker
Oh no.
01:51:06
Speaker
Can you hear me?
01:51:07
Speaker
Tyler.
01:51:08
Speaker
Tyler.
01:51:09
Speaker
We're so close to the end.
01:51:10
Speaker
Oh no.
01:51:11
Speaker
Oh no.
01:51:14
Speaker
Oh, there he is.
01:51:15
Speaker
All right.
01:51:16
Speaker
Okay.
01:51:18
Speaker
Hello.
01:51:18
Speaker
Hello.
01:51:18
Speaker
I heard him for a second.
01:51:19
Speaker
Okay.
01:51:20
Speaker
Okay.
01:51:20
Speaker
Okay.
01:51:21
Speaker
You guys just like completely lagged for like 10 seconds, but it's all good.
01:51:25
Speaker
No, it was you.
01:51:26
Speaker
We were all together.
01:51:30
Speaker
Oh no.
01:51:31
Speaker
Did it happen again?
01:51:35
Speaker
I'm waiting for the age of fools.
01:51:36
Speaker
Oh my god, we're struggling.
01:51:37
Speaker
We're struggling here.
01:51:38
Speaker
We're going to keep going and Tyler will be here eventually.
01:51:41
Speaker
Oh, no, he'll be back.
01:51:43
Speaker
There he is.
01:51:43
Speaker
Okay.
01:51:44
Speaker
Okay.
01:51:45
Speaker
From Don, he asked, are houses historically based, and this is at HHN, are HHN houses historically based on movies that have been released between the years of the event, like in the past, or have they ever done a house or houses featuring and actively in theaters or an upcoming IP?
01:51:59
Speaker
Okay.
01:52:01
Speaker
The only thing I can think of in recent years is when they did Exorcist Believer.
01:52:04
Speaker
That I think came out in October of the year.
01:52:08
Speaker
That was last year of 23.
01:52:09
Speaker
And it was obviously like open before the house was open before the movie was.
01:52:15
Speaker
But I think historically it's usually after a movie's been out.
01:52:18
Speaker
Yeah.
01:52:19
Speaker
It doesn't happen very often.
01:52:20
Speaker
Okay.
01:52:22
Speaker
That's that.
01:52:23
Speaker
Hopefully we answered that one.
01:52:24
Speaker
And then Ryan...
01:52:30
Speaker
Ryan M. asked, speaking of new coasters, what is going to be a sleeper hit of 2025?
01:52:36
Speaker
Pulls out RCDB.
01:52:38
Speaker
Filters to North America for 2025 coasters.
01:52:42
Speaker
I've been looking at this list.
01:52:44
Speaker
Um...
01:52:46
Speaker
This is a really interesting question because I feel like to be a sleeper hit, it has to be something that people aren't hyping up.
01:52:52
Speaker
I think it's kind of too late for Flash at this point to say that, but it is good.
01:52:56
Speaker
I would have said that.
01:52:57
Speaker
And I think it's better than people are expecting.
01:53:00
Speaker
So when they ride it, it'll kind of be a sleeper hit in that way.
01:53:04
Speaker
A new boomerang.
01:53:06
Speaker
Exactly.
01:53:06
Speaker
But like it actually is like has some forces in it smooth.
01:53:10
Speaker
Yeah.
01:53:10
Speaker
Like a lot of the a lot of the things I'm looking at at this list have have been hyped.
01:53:14
Speaker
And so it's hard to say they're going to be a sleeper hit.
01:53:18
Speaker
I'll throw Curse of the Werewolf out there because I was not expecting a ton on that ride considering it's very short layout.
01:53:26
Speaker
And I don't know, it's just like a family spinner.
01:53:28
Speaker
But yeah.
01:53:29
Speaker
The ride we got in that thing was way more wild than I expected and actually really fun.
01:53:35
Speaker
So I was like, okay, maybe this is a sleeper hit.
01:53:38
Speaker
I think it really depends on the weighting of your car when you ride it, but it shocked me.
01:53:44
Speaker
You had children in there.
01:53:45
Speaker
Exactly.
01:53:45
Speaker
We had children on one side and adults on the other, and we got pulled over a bunch of hills and airtime.
01:53:52
Speaker
Okay.
01:53:53
Speaker
Well, I have children.
01:53:54
Speaker
Okay.
01:53:57
Speaker
Let's see what else is on this list.
01:54:01
Speaker
I think at Codaland, their tilt coaster, Circuit Breaker, is getting a little overlooked now that Siren's Curse is getting built.
01:54:10
Speaker
And I'm wondering if it could be better than Siren's Curse.
01:54:15
Speaker
Don't know.
01:54:16
Speaker
I don't really recall the layout that much since it was in the news two years ago.
01:54:21
Speaker
It was one of those rolling drops like Iron Gwazi.
01:54:25
Speaker
I don't think it was more excited about that POV, though.
01:54:28
Speaker
Yeah.
01:54:28
Speaker
Yeah.
01:54:29
Speaker
I don't even know if we can call it 2025 even at this point, but hopefully.
01:54:33
Speaker
That's true.
01:54:35
Speaker
Yeah.
01:54:35
Speaker
Who knows?
01:54:36
Speaker
That's a stretch for sure.
01:54:37
Speaker
Well, that was our last question.
01:54:44
Speaker
Tim would want us to say Rakshasa, but it's going to be a dive coaster.
01:54:48
Speaker
I think it will be a better dive coaster.
01:54:50
Speaker
I hope so.
01:54:50
Speaker
There's definitely more to the layout.
01:54:53
Speaker
Yeah.
01:54:54
Speaker
We shall see.
01:54:56
Speaker
We shall.
01:54:58
Speaker
Are you guys going to be attending any special events, do you think, before our next episode?
01:55:05
Speaker
Anything exciting upcoming in your personal plans?
01:55:09
Speaker
Not that I can think of.
01:55:12
Speaker
I have to look at my coaster challenge.
01:55:15
Speaker
i wish but no yeah i don't know what's gonna happen for sure but i don't have any like solid plans we do have two buzz bars events coming up in the next couple of months this coming weekend we have golden gate wobble up in the san francisco bay area it is too late for you to sign up i mean certainly you can show up it was a free event so if you
01:55:38
Speaker
are in the very rare chance that you are listening to us and want to join us in like, you know, 12 hours from now when you're listening to this, we're going to be in Northern California.
01:55:51
Speaker
We just want to get a cool lanyard as well.
01:55:53
Speaker
Yeah.
01:55:54
Speaker
That's the only thing you're missing out on.
01:55:56
Speaker
And then in May on Memorial Day weekend, we will be in Virginia for Virginia's for Stumbles the Revenge at Kingsmanian and Bush Gardens Williamsburg.
01:56:07
Speaker
During which Bush Gardens Williamsburg will have the food and wine festival going on.
01:56:11
Speaker
Yes.
01:56:13
Speaker
Nice.
01:56:14
Speaker
I will partake always when there's food.
01:56:17
Speaker
Yeah.
01:56:19
Speaker
We're working on that event.
01:56:21
Speaker
We're going to have some fun little extra social tidbits included as we try to do for some of our larger events.
01:56:28
Speaker
So that sign up will be opening soon in April.
01:56:34
Speaker
Yeah.
01:56:38
Speaker
Please stand by.
01:56:39
Speaker
We need some information, pending information from one of the parks.
01:56:44
Speaker
Yeah.
01:56:45
Speaker
But we're working on it.
01:56:48
Speaker
What else?
01:56:50
Speaker
Is that it?
01:56:51
Speaker
I think that's it.
01:56:52
Speaker
Yeah, I think so.
01:56:54
Speaker
That was March.
01:56:55
Speaker
Yeah.
01:56:56
Speaker
It's kind of funny that none of us really have solid plans because it's the beginning of park season.
01:57:00
Speaker
Like, we're here.
01:57:02
Speaker
Yeah.
01:57:03
Speaker
So many things just opened.
01:57:04
Speaker
My life is very busy this time of year with the kids' activities, so it's really hard for me to commit to things.
01:57:09
Speaker
But we definitely have some open random weekend days, not enough to travel too far, but I'm sure we'll do some local stuff.
01:57:16
Speaker
We should have some HHN news by that time, hopefully.
01:57:19
Speaker
Hopefully.
01:57:20
Speaker
Yeah.
01:57:22
Speaker
Yeah.
01:57:23
Speaker
Hopefully.
01:57:24
Speaker
Cool.
01:57:24
Speaker
We are just under two hours.
01:57:26
Speaker
I think that's pretty good.
01:57:27
Speaker
Yeah.
01:57:29
Speaker
Great.
01:57:29
Speaker
Only an hour if you listen to us on double.
01:57:32
Speaker
Exactly.
01:57:33
Speaker
It's so easy.
01:57:34
Speaker
Yeah, probably.
01:57:40
Speaker
Okay.
01:57:41
Speaker
We will be back in April at some point for another episode.
01:57:45
Speaker
Thanks for listening.
01:57:47
Speaker
And if you're in the discord, let us know what you thought of this episode.
01:57:51
Speaker
If you have any thoughts on this spec map from HHN.
01:57:54
Speaker
Follow us on Instagram.
01:57:57
Speaker
Follow us on Instagram.
01:57:59
Speaker
We will try to be more active.
01:58:00
Speaker
We will.
01:58:01
Speaker
Maybe we'll post some stuff.
01:58:02
Speaker
There's nothing really like thrills, chills, and spills-y from our trip this weekend coming up.
01:58:08
Speaker
But I mean, I guess there's thrills.
01:58:09
Speaker
Maybe we'll post some stuff since we'll be together.
01:58:11
Speaker
I'm sure we'll spill something.
01:58:13
Speaker
Spill something.
01:58:14
Speaker
Yeah.
01:58:15
Speaker
Likely.
01:58:15
Speaker
You guys will have to Photoshop me into random things.
01:58:18
Speaker
Rum or something.
01:58:20
Speaker
I have to find it so I can pack it.
01:58:24
Speaker
We are.
01:58:25
Speaker
Some of us are running a race.
01:58:27
Speaker
Buzzbar's official race, 5K.
01:58:31
Speaker
Hopefully nobody takes a spill there.
01:58:33
Speaker
No spills at the race.
01:58:34
Speaker
We will report back.
01:58:36
Speaker
We will report back.
01:58:37
Speaker
Tom.
01:58:40
Speaker
He probably won't listen.
01:58:42
Speaker
I don't know if he's a fan.
01:58:45
Speaker
Okay.
01:58:46
Speaker
Bye.
01:58:47
Speaker
Bye.
01:58:48
Speaker
Bye.
