We're back as we finish out Part III of our great EuroTrip recap with special guest Tim! Did we find any joy on Yoy? Plus the woes of Drayton Manor, the highs of Liseberg and Linnanmaki, and a heat wave in Madrid. And too many madhouses - ifykyk. We also wrap up discussion of the original HHN houses dropped during the trip AND new releases including Terrifier (our fave Art the clown) and the first scare zones. As always, we end with some fantastic listener questions on opportunities for spooky events, industry news, and the best coaster manufacturer. Grab some Malort and enjoy this two hour banger 🤣!

Introduction to Thrills, Chills, and Spills

00:00:13
Speaker
We're going to play a little game we call Spill the T. Hello, everybody, and welcome to another episode of Thrills, Chills, and Spills, where we spill the tea on all things theme parks, special events, and of course, the spooky season.
00:00:30
Speaker
I'm Rafa.
00:00:31
Speaker
I'm Joey.
00:00:32
Speaker
I'm Kelly.
00:00:33
Speaker
I'm Tyler.
00:00:35
Speaker
And we have a special guest with us today, probably the nicest and chillest guy in all of Buzz Bars.
00:00:41
Speaker
We have Tim here today.
00:00:42
Speaker
I appreciate that.
00:00:45
Speaker
Thank you for joining

Tim's Takes on Previous Episode

00:00:47
Speaker
us.
00:00:47
Speaker
But yes, as always, we are going to start off with some spills today, which I don't have any, but our special guest does.
00:00:54
Speaker
So please let us know your spills.
00:00:56
Speaker
Yeah, my spills are mainly just from a few of your takes from last episode with Scott and talking about the trip.
00:01:06
Speaker
Some things I agreed with.
00:01:07
Speaker
some things I did not, and a cool piece of spooky history that I think should be touched upon.
00:01:15
Speaker
Oh, okay.
00:01:16
Speaker
Let's hear it.
00:01:17
Speaker
Okay, okay.
00:01:17
Speaker
Going in order of the notes I took.

Roller Coaster Reviews

00:01:21
Speaker
Nemesis Inferno.
00:01:21
Speaker
Not the notes.
00:01:22
Speaker
How long is that?
00:01:23
Speaker
He's ready.
00:01:23
Speaker
He was prepared with receipts.
00:01:26
Speaker
Nemesis Inferno is incredible.
00:01:29
Speaker
It is my number two B&M invert.
00:01:32
Speaker
Yeah, it is everything that I want out of an invert.
00:01:36
Speaker
It's just whippy, snappy transitions and inversions.
00:01:40
Speaker
And then, yeah, you guys tell us about like a really random, cool pre-lift section.
00:01:46
Speaker
Yeah, that part's really cool.
00:01:48
Speaker
I do agree with you guys.
00:01:49
Speaker
I liked Saw a lot.
00:01:51
Speaker
Yeah, thank you.
00:01:55
Speaker
I have Swarm as my second favorite wing coaster, only to Thunderbird.
00:02:01
Speaker
It's mine too because I've only written two.
00:02:03
Speaker
I'm not mad at that.
00:02:04
Speaker
I have a better Max Flight and better than Gatekeeper.
00:02:10
Speaker
And then Ghost Train at Blackpool is not a credit.
00:02:17
Speaker
Tyler, it's mainly with you.
00:02:19
Speaker
I think the one at Camden Park is way more of a credit because you're going down slowly the whole time.
00:02:26
Speaker
I do agree with that.
00:02:29
Speaker
A downward chain lift to take you back down.
00:02:32
Speaker
Yeah.
00:02:33
Speaker
Camden does feel more like a roller coaster.
00:02:35
Speaker
I do agree.
00:02:36
Speaker
When I thought about it, I do agree with that.
00:02:38
Speaker
But the main drop part, I feel like is more coaster like it's possible in the end.
00:02:44
Speaker
I just couldn't.
00:02:45
Speaker
I consider the one to Camden a credit.
00:02:47
Speaker
I couldn't consider this one a credit.
00:02:50
Speaker
I let myself be convinced by the majority opinion because I was like, eh, it's effort to count that because it's not in my app.
00:02:57
Speaker
But everybody was like, it's a cred.
00:03:00
Speaker
I just went with the crowd.
00:03:03
Speaker
Right.
00:03:04
Speaker
Like, I guess I'll count it.
00:03:06
Speaker
So I did not.
00:03:07
Speaker
Do you guys know that the story of Hex is a real legend?

Legend of Hex at Alton Towers

00:03:16
Speaker
Not far from Alton Towers.
00:03:19
Speaker
I saw this.
00:03:20
Speaker
I read this after we left there.
00:03:22
Speaker
Not far from the park is an actual big old oak tree.
00:03:26
Speaker
That's like, who knows how old, 700 years old, I think.
00:03:30
Speaker
That's actually like, has chains all wrapped around it.
00:03:34
Speaker
And you could like walk and go see this.
00:03:36
Speaker
And that's like the whole legend of like, what this tree is, is that that guy, you know, lightning struck it and a member of his family died.
00:03:45
Speaker
So he tried to tie chains around it to keep it together and everything.
00:03:50
Speaker
But that legend is real.
00:03:53
Speaker
That's so cool.
00:03:54
Speaker
I would have loved to see it.
00:03:55
Speaker
Honestly, maybe the MASH bus did see it on our excursion.
00:04:02
Speaker
It was probably down that road.
00:04:04
Speaker
Yeah.
00:04:07
Speaker
It's true.
00:04:08
Speaker
Interesting.
00:04:09
Speaker
I feel like I would have appreciated it a little bit more if I would have known that.
00:04:12
Speaker
Anyone who would have known that going in as well?
00:04:15
Speaker
Yeah.
00:04:17
Speaker
Tell us if not for pre-shows that this is a real legend.
00:04:24
Speaker
But that's my team.
00:04:25
Speaker
That's it?
00:04:26
Speaker
You don't have anything else for us?
00:04:28
Speaker
I think that's all I have.
00:04:29
Speaker
I was going to be hotter than that, Tim.
00:04:31
Speaker
I was expecting you to disagree with everything.
00:04:33
Speaker
I mean, listen, I can go into more things about how wrong you are about The Walking Dead.
00:04:41
Speaker
I can go into it.
00:04:43
Speaker
But Inferno was my case.
00:04:44
Speaker
Wait, what about Walking Dead?
00:04:46
Speaker
It was so bad.
00:04:49
Speaker
It wasn't that bad.
00:04:50
Speaker
That's what TDR said as well.
00:04:52
Speaker
Hot garbage or something like that.
00:04:53
Speaker
I think Colossus might be, it's the second worst roller coaster I've ever ridden.
00:04:58
Speaker
Oh my God.
00:04:59
Speaker
It was so bad.
00:05:02
Speaker
You let Tom influence you too much.
00:05:05
Speaker
I didn't even get to ride with Tom.
00:05:07
Speaker
Tom joined the podcast.
00:05:08
Speaker
Doesn't matter.
00:05:09
Speaker
You got osmosis this week.
00:05:12
Speaker
Literally.
00:05:14
Speaker
Like Kelly said, put my bag on the other side of the train.
00:05:17
Speaker
It was like going through an obstacle course just to get to the other side of the platform.
00:05:22
Speaker
I knew right now, I'm like, this is going to be a nightmare.
00:05:27
Speaker
What was wrong with The Walking Dead, though?
00:05:30
Speaker
It was...
00:05:31
Speaker
A really incredible cue in a really bad ride.
00:05:35
Speaker
I think it was bad.
00:05:40
Speaker
I feel like if they had the scare actors, it would have made the experience a whole lot better.
00:05:43
Speaker
I feel like you would probably appreciate the ride a little bit more.
00:05:46
Speaker
I don't know if this is true, but I've heard they still do scare actors on the weekends.
00:05:52
Speaker
Okay.
00:05:53
Speaker
Bummed we didn't get that.
00:05:55
Speaker
Missed it by a day.
00:05:56
Speaker
Yeah.
00:05:58
Speaker
That being said, I'm not sure I would have wanted to be there on a weekend to pick it's visitor.
00:06:02
Speaker
Yeah, no.
00:06:03
Speaker
Honestly.
00:06:06
Speaker
Yeah, no way.
00:06:06
Speaker
No way.
00:06:07
Speaker
But Kelly, you also had a spill.
00:06:10
Speaker
Oh, yeah.
00:06:11
Speaker
What's going

Kelly's Harrowing Hike

00:06:12
Speaker
on?
00:06:12
Speaker
I visited Tyler this weekend.
00:06:15
Speaker
We did some hiking, which started out great.
00:06:18
Speaker
Honestly, the hike that I'm about to talk about started out great, too.
00:06:23
Speaker
We stayed like kind of near this resort that I don't know, you could probably tell it better how, how you found the hike, but it wasn't like part of like when we hiked earlier in the trip, it was like part of the national park.
00:06:37
Speaker
And then this was just like part of resort.
00:06:38
Speaker
So,
00:06:39
Speaker
There wasn't like as much information about the hike and I wouldn't call myself a hiker.
00:06:45
Speaker
I have definitely gone on a lot of hikes in the past in life and enjoyed them of, you know, various difficulties and,
00:06:54
Speaker
This thing scared me more than anything that I can think of in my life in the past couple of years.
00:07:00
Speaker
I was unwell.
00:07:04
Speaker
It said that it was, what, moderate to more challenging was how it was described, right?
00:07:12
Speaker
Well, when we checked back later, it did say more difficult, so...
00:07:18
Speaker
So basically it started with this short little thing called the plunge, which like it said it was the sign outside of it said it was like near vertical.
00:07:26
Speaker
I was like, okay, that's like a little scary, but it was fine.
00:07:29
Speaker
We did that part.
00:07:30
Speaker
And then we were doing like this other loop to kind of get back to where we started.
00:07:35
Speaker
And it just like progressively got scarier and scarier.
00:07:39
Speaker
Like I've done rock scrambles on hikes before, but this was like straight,
00:07:43
Speaker
like rock climbing at some points.
00:07:46
Speaker
Like they had ropes attached to some of these rocks.
00:07:50
Speaker
They, some of the rocks were wet, which really scared me.
00:07:52
Speaker
And some were like very close to like the edge of a cliff.
00:07:55
Speaker
And I just was unwell a couple of times, like two tears.
00:08:00
Speaker
It was extremely scary.
00:08:02
Speaker
I never wanted to kiss a road so much in my life when we got back to the normal road.
00:08:06
Speaker
Did you go full Katy Perry?
00:08:07
Speaker
Yeah.
00:08:09
Speaker
I did say that like Katy Perry style.
00:08:13
Speaker
I felt like that, honestly, but I was just so over it.
00:08:18
Speaker
It was just more like, I didn't know when it was going to be over.
00:08:21
Speaker
It felt like we should have been getting close to like the end for like the last 40 minutes, I feel like.
00:08:27
Speaker
So it was just, and Tyler's making a very straight face.
00:08:32
Speaker
You didn't like it either.
00:08:33
Speaker
Tell the people.
00:08:34
Speaker
Yeah, I was going to say, I was like, Tyler, you're not reacting much.
00:08:37
Speaker
So did you have a totally different experience?
00:08:38
Speaker
He was sick of me because he had to deal with me for an hour, like panicking on rocks.
00:08:44
Speaker
No, I mean, I hike a lot more.
00:08:48
Speaker
It was not good.
00:08:49
Speaker
The problem was we were looking for just sort of a chill hike.
00:08:53
Speaker
And the description said meandering.
00:08:56
Speaker
And to me, meandering is like, you know, just kind of chill back and forth sort of thing.
00:09:02
Speaker
But this was up and down on multiple rock faces.
00:09:07
Speaker
The main problem was they were all wet.
00:09:11
Speaker
So you're going down a rock scramble next to a cliff and the rock is soaking wet.
00:09:17
Speaker
Part of it even had the waterfall coming down the rock.
00:09:20
Speaker
We had to like walk through the waterfall.
00:09:23
Speaker
Oh, yeah.
00:09:23
Speaker
Wow.
00:09:25
Speaker
Advanced.
00:09:25
Speaker
I don't have like hiking boots.
00:09:29
Speaker
Okay.
00:09:29
Speaker
I'm doing this in like Nike sneakers.
00:09:31
Speaker
Okay.
00:09:33
Speaker
And got a couple of battle wounds, which I didn't even realize happened because I was so focused on just like not falling off.
00:09:42
Speaker
It was fun.
00:09:43
Speaker
At the end of it, looking back, I had hoped I would think it was still fun and the majority of it was fun.
00:09:48
Speaker
And I do want to go on more hikes, but I was terrified more than I've ever been in any haunted house ever by far.
00:09:57
Speaker
Wait, HHN needs to do a hike on it.
00:10:03
Speaker
It's just an hour long.
00:10:04
Speaker
Everyone's expecting there to be scare actors and then it's just a really nice walk through the woods.
00:10:10
Speaker
Yes.
00:10:12
Speaker
They market it as if it's going to be some slasher thing and then you get in there and it's just wet rocks.
00:10:18
Speaker
You're on edge the entire time and nothing's happening.
00:10:22
Speaker
It's pretty much what it was.
00:10:25
Speaker
It'd be amazing.
00:10:27
Speaker
Yeah.
00:10:29
Speaker
But you survived.
00:10:30
Speaker
Yeah.
00:10:31
Speaker
I did survive.
00:10:33
Speaker
You told me you were proud of me afterwards for making it.
00:10:36
Speaker
No, I was.
00:10:37
Speaker
He saved me twice.
00:10:38
Speaker
He had to like physically pull me up because I could not physically move my body into a position to get up the rocks.
00:10:47
Speaker
I was so scared.
00:10:49
Speaker
But I did it.
00:10:50
Speaker
And now I'm like thinking about taking the kids on a hike this weekend.
00:10:54
Speaker
But like
00:10:55
Speaker
Not a hike like that, clearly.
00:10:57
Speaker
In defense of Tyler's straight face to this story, Scott once told me to tell Tyler that he missed him, even though he doesn't feel feelings.
00:11:10
Speaker
Tyler's response was, I am neutral to that statement.
00:11:16
Speaker
It's just his baseline, right?
00:11:18
Speaker
Yeah.
00:11:19
Speaker
It's giving Ron Swanson.
00:11:22
Speaker
I am neutral to that statement.
00:11:24
Speaker
That is such a compliment.
00:11:28
Speaker
Thank you, Joey.
00:11:29
Speaker
You're welcome.
00:11:31
Speaker
I know you love a steak.
00:11:33
Speaker
But like, okay, yes, maybe I'm being a little bit dramatic, but like you weren't neutral during it either.
00:11:38
Speaker
You were annoyed.
00:11:39
Speaker
No, I wasn't.
00:11:40
Speaker
But when you say, I'm going to tell you guys about the time I almost died.
00:11:45
Speaker
That's just... I didn't say that on the podcast.
00:11:49
Speaker
I was messing around.
00:11:51
Speaker
I was safe.
00:11:52
Speaker
Yeah, we were not having fun.
00:11:54
Speaker
It's mostly just because it was not what we were expecting.
00:11:57
Speaker
And it felt way longer than it was listed.
00:12:01
Speaker
That was the main issue.
00:12:02
Speaker
When you're just like going up and down with no end in sight, when it feels like it should have ended already.
00:12:09
Speaker
That's the not fun part for me.
00:12:12
Speaker
Yeah.
00:12:14
Speaker
It's a fun story to tell though.
00:12:15
Speaker
Yeah, it will be.
00:12:17
Speaker
Yeah.
00:12:18
Speaker
It will be.
00:12:19
Speaker
Just like the bangers.
00:12:21
Speaker
Plenty of stories with that.
00:12:24
Speaker
I said the mash bus before.
00:12:27
Speaker
Oh, you did say the mash.
00:12:27
Speaker
None of you guys corrected me at all.
00:12:29
Speaker
We didn't want to call you out in front of everybody.
00:12:31
Speaker
Okay.
00:12:33
Speaker
Sure.
00:12:33
Speaker
Sure.
00:12:35
Speaker
All right.
00:12:36
Speaker
So moving on to the questions, Tim, we just want everyone to get to know you a little bit more.
00:12:40
Speaker
We're going to have a couple of questions.
00:12:43
Speaker
Well, first question, you don't have to go through it in a speed round kind of way.
00:12:47
Speaker
Take your time with that one.
00:12:48
Speaker
After that, we'll ask you a couple of questions.

Becoming a Coaster Enthusiast

00:12:50
Speaker
Just answer first thing that comes up to your head.
00:12:53
Speaker
So just to start off, let us know when and why did you become a theme park slash roller coaster enthusiast?
00:13:01
Speaker
Yeah, it was honestly so like I grew up going to Six Flags Great America here and I loved roller coasters most of my life.
00:13:11
Speaker
But I didn't know that this was a hobby that people did in this way.
00:13:16
Speaker
So it wasn't until COVID when nobody could actually ride roller coasters that I was down a YouTube rabbit hole and discovered Coaster YouTube.
00:13:26
Speaker
And it sounds like a similar story to a few of you that it ended up being a Coasters and Brews video.
00:13:32
Speaker
I ended up seeing a video of a guy wearing a T-shirt for the band The Wonder Years, which is my favorite band and the only band I'll ever have tattooed on my body.
00:13:42
Speaker
and I was like roller coasters in the wonder years that's a match made in heaven so that that introduced me to buzz bars and I went to my first event just about almost exactly two years ago uh to Michigan's adventure and the rest is a solid one pizza on the beach pizza on the beach yeah
00:14:04
Speaker
Yeah, I hear about that stumble all the time or wobble.
00:14:06
Speaker
It was a stumble or wobble.
00:14:07
Speaker
It was a wobble.
00:14:08
Speaker
Wobble.
00:14:08
Speaker
Yeah.
00:14:09
Speaker
Wobble me timbers.
00:14:11
Speaker
Yeah.
00:14:11
Speaker
Major FOMO with that one.
00:14:13
Speaker
I wish I went to that.
00:14:15
Speaker
But OK, so now lightning round.
00:14:18
Speaker
So again, just give us your answers quickly.
00:14:21
Speaker
So cred count.
00:14:23
Speaker
I think it's 178.
00:14:26
Speaker
Favorite coaster?
00:14:27
Speaker
The Voyage and Holiday World.

Tim's Favorites and Hot Takes

00:14:30
Speaker
Favorite theme park?
00:14:32
Speaker
I think I gotta stick with Silver Dollar City.
00:14:36
Speaker
Ooh, good answer.
00:14:38
Speaker
Okay.
00:14:38
Speaker
What's your next park visit?
00:14:41
Speaker
I mean, the boring answer is Six Flies Great America.
00:14:44
Speaker
I unfortunately have to fulfill a fantasy football punishment and ride the demon for four hours straight.
00:14:50
Speaker
Oh no.
00:14:52
Speaker
Next weekend or this weekend.
00:14:53
Speaker
Amazing.
00:14:56
Speaker
All right.
00:14:56
Speaker
Wood or steel?
00:14:59
Speaker
Overall steel.
00:15:01
Speaker
All right.
00:15:01
Speaker
So this one, if you can choose between always skipping over spooky season or only riding coasters built in 2000 and earlier, which would you choose?
00:15:11
Speaker
It pains me to say this, but I think I got to give up spooky season.
00:15:17
Speaker
I hate that because I love spooky season.
00:15:20
Speaker
Yep.
00:15:21
Speaker
Wrong answer.
00:15:24
Speaker
All right.
00:15:25
Speaker
What's your number one?
00:15:26
Speaker
What was that?
00:15:28
Speaker
I hate a lot of old coasters.
00:15:30
Speaker
Yeah, I agree with you on that.
00:15:31
Speaker
All right.
00:15:33
Speaker
What's your number one hobby outside of coasters?
00:15:36
Speaker
Probably movies.
00:15:38
Speaker
All right.
00:15:39
Speaker
Love that.
00:15:39
Speaker
Love that.
00:15:40
Speaker
What's your go-to drink?
00:15:42
Speaker
It's Malort.
00:15:44
Speaker
Okay.
00:15:44
Speaker
There's no other answer for that.
00:15:46
Speaker
It had to be that.
00:15:47
Speaker
Nothing like a nice glass of Malort at the end of the day.
00:15:50
Speaker
Listen, we take shots just like with dinner in here.
00:15:53
Speaker
Yeah.
00:15:56
Speaker
All right.
00:15:57
Speaker
What's the best pizza topping?
00:15:59
Speaker
It's sausage and giardiniera.
00:16:03
Speaker
Very Chicago.
00:16:03
Speaker
All right.
00:16:06
Speaker
What is your bucket list travel destination?
00:16:11
Speaker
Probably Greece.
00:16:15
Speaker
My family is very Greek and only a handful of my family has been there.
00:16:19
Speaker
So I'd really like to go and
00:16:22
Speaker
and see where we came from, and then just also do the Greek islands, eat the food.
00:16:28
Speaker
Nice, nice.
00:16:29
Speaker
All right, and then what's your go-to karaoke song?
00:16:32
Speaker
It used to be I'll Make a Man Out of You from the Mulan soundtrack.
00:16:37
Speaker
Yeah, I remember that during Silver Dollar City.
00:16:40
Speaker
It's been a little bit since I've sang it.
00:16:42
Speaker
I don't have like a true go-to right now, but that had been it for a long time.
00:16:48
Speaker
All right, and then what is your rollercoaster hot take?
00:16:53
Speaker
Kumba is mid.
00:16:55
Speaker
Agree.
00:16:57
Speaker
There is absolutely nothing special about that ride at all.
00:17:04
Speaker
Yeah, the only thing special is how you get through it without banging your head.
00:17:11
Speaker
I feel like more and more people are going to side with that.
00:17:13
Speaker
So I don't know if that's even much of a hot take anymore.
00:17:15
Speaker
Everybody's hating on Kumba, man.
00:17:17
Speaker
I love Kumba.
00:17:18
Speaker
I was so excited to ride it.
00:17:20
Speaker
I didn't have high expectations, but I was like, I just feel like this is going to be a good time.
00:17:24
Speaker
And I got off and I was like, I'm okay.
00:17:26
Speaker
Never ride that again.
00:17:28
Speaker
It wasn't bad, but it did nothing for me.
00:17:30
Speaker
It did nothing for you.
00:17:34
Speaker
All right.
00:17:34
Speaker
And do you want to plug in any socials?

Social Media Plug

00:17:37
Speaker
Thrills, Chills, and Spills on Instagram.
00:17:39
Speaker
They got a handle now.
00:17:42
Speaker
I don't remember what it is, but they got one.
00:17:47
Speaker
Wow.
00:17:47
Speaker
Thanks so much.
00:17:48
Speaker
Thanks, Tim.
00:17:49
Speaker
That's a great answer.
00:17:52
Speaker
All right.
00:17:53
Speaker
So moving on to, this is already the end, basically, of our UK Euro stumble activities.

Drayton Manor Disappointment

00:18:02
Speaker
And we're going to go over our post-stumble events, which started off with Tyler, Tim, and myself going to Drayton Manor.
00:18:12
Speaker
Well, actually, before we get into that, Tim, do you want to add anything when it comes to the stumble in general?
00:18:17
Speaker
Like any of the things that we already went over?
00:18:20
Speaker
What are your thoughts?
00:18:21
Speaker
You know, I think the only kind of additional thoughts were the ones I gave at the beginning.
00:18:27
Speaker
You know, to echo a couple of things, a lot of those parks had just incredible staff who understood that they are in the hospitality industry and showed a lot of pride in that.
00:18:41
Speaker
And that was one of the biggest takeaways I have from the whole trip.
00:18:45
Speaker
is that we went to a park that was made for families, not thrill seekers, and we still had an absolute blast, and a large part of that was because of the staff.
00:18:53
Speaker
So just a huge shout out to them at a lot of those parks.
00:18:59
Speaker
Agreed.
00:19:00
Speaker
Yeah, they were all incredible.
00:19:01
Speaker
And Hyperia was next level good.
00:19:04
Speaker
Yeah.
00:19:07
Speaker
All right, so Drayton Manor, guys.
00:19:10
Speaker
What do we think?
00:19:11
Speaker
Do we have to talk about it?
00:19:13
Speaker
I know.
00:19:13
Speaker
Yes, I need to know.
00:19:15
Speaker
I was really trying to think of what to say about this, and yeah.
00:19:21
Speaker
I wasn't a fan.
00:19:22
Speaker
I was not a fan of the park.
00:19:23
Speaker
To put it bluntly, it's one of the worst park days I've ever had, I think.
00:19:28
Speaker
And it didn't help that we were on... This was already the very end of the stumble.
00:19:33
Speaker
We were all pretty beat at this point, so I feel like that...
00:19:38
Speaker
kind of already affected our moods going into it but we were still going in pretty pumped you know some new creds but the park just seemed like a mess to me like everything was all over the place i feel like staffing was probably the issue a lot of the restaurants weren't opening until what like two hours three hours after opening park opening is that how it was i remember trying to find something to eat for a bit and we could not find anything until we finally found like a
00:20:05
Speaker
Like a fry stand?
00:20:06
Speaker
Was it a fry stand?
00:20:06
Speaker
I remember seeing Tim there.
00:20:07
Speaker
It was, yeah.
00:20:09
Speaker
It was interesting because they actually called it fries instead of chips.
00:20:13
Speaker
But it was a fry stand that was connected to a chicken restaurant that wasn't open.
00:20:19
Speaker
And it was lunch.
00:20:21
Speaker
I think it was like noon.
00:20:23
Speaker
Yeah, it was already like 12 o'clock, almost one o'clock.
00:20:25
Speaker
And many restaurants were still closed.
00:20:27
Speaker
Like we would walk past a couple and we're like, oh, let's go eat there.
00:20:29
Speaker
Nope, we can't.
00:20:30
Speaker
The doors are shut.
00:20:31
Speaker
There were many restaurants that were like that.
00:20:33
Speaker
This was probably the one stand that we found at that time.
00:20:36
Speaker
And it wasn't even anything great.
00:20:38
Speaker
It was just fries with cheese on it, basically.
00:20:41
Speaker
And this was a Sunday.
00:20:42
Speaker
This was on a Sunday.
00:20:44
Speaker
Not to mention the park hours were 1030 to 4.
00:20:49
Speaker
Right.
00:20:50
Speaker
And it was slammed.
00:20:52
Speaker
And it was just... I don't know.
00:20:55
Speaker
It was not good.
00:20:56
Speaker
But we started off with... What was the name of that first one that we did?
00:21:02
Speaker
I think we were all separate.
00:21:04
Speaker
We were all different orders, right?
00:21:05
Speaker
I went to Gold Rush first.
00:21:07
Speaker
Gold Rush I did first as well.
00:21:09
Speaker
Yeah, the Intamin... I guess like Family Launch.
00:21:13
Speaker
Which it is unique.
00:21:15
Speaker
Launch and Lift is what they're calling it.
00:21:18
Speaker
Launch and lift.
00:21:18
Speaker
Okay.
00:21:19
Speaker
Yeah.
00:21:20
Speaker
Well, apparently it's got different cycles depending on the time of day.
00:21:23
Speaker
We only got a chance to do the first cycle.
00:21:26
Speaker
I think it changes at two from what I remember.
00:21:29
Speaker
But yeah, it's fine.
00:21:32
Speaker
Cute little ride.
00:21:34
Speaker
Yeah, it was fine.
00:21:35
Speaker
I mean, I think that was probably my favorite in the park out of all of them, I think.
00:21:41
Speaker
um pretty neat ride but yeah it would have been cool to check out the second version of it basically after too but we were kind of running a little low on time there but um that was probably my favorite one there and then um what else i'm literally looking at the coasters here i don't remember any of them like my name well wave i remember the wave stand up what a miserable experience standing in the line
00:22:05
Speaker
So I didn't think it was okay, I didn't think that one was actually that bad.
00:22:08
Speaker
I think it was just the 70-minute wait that was not worth it.
00:22:12
Speaker
No, the ride itself I thought was decent.
00:22:14
Speaker
It was waiting I think I waited 80 minutes.
00:22:18
Speaker
It's one train ops and then the back two rows well, the back row was closed and then one of them I think was Fast Pass or whatever.
00:22:26
Speaker
So you're loading
00:22:28
Speaker
What is that, like 16 people per train on one train ops?
00:22:33
Speaker
Yikes.
00:22:34
Speaker
It was terrible.
00:22:35
Speaker
It was the worst weight.
00:22:37
Speaker
It was so bad.
00:22:37
Speaker
From what I heard, we were standing in line for Gold Rusher with a local enthusiast.
00:22:45
Speaker
Gold Rusher was on one train because they sent one train back to Intamin for repairs.
00:22:52
Speaker
Okay.
00:22:52
Speaker
And they only purchased one train for the weight.
00:22:56
Speaker
So this part that seemingly gets packed is in the other major coaster, if we're going to call it that, is a family boomerang.
00:23:08
Speaker
Apparently the first ever family boomerang from Vekoma.
00:23:12
Speaker
So every ride there right now is just on one train.
00:23:15
Speaker
And it was painful.
00:23:19
Speaker
Yeah.
00:23:19
Speaker
I actually ended up buying the Fast Pass halfway through the day just to make sure that I got all the creds.
00:23:27
Speaker
Same.
00:23:28
Speaker
And it pained me to pay that.
00:23:29
Speaker
I did not want to give the park any more money.
00:23:31
Speaker
But I was like, let's get these creds out of the way.
00:23:34
Speaker
Let's get them done.
00:23:36
Speaker
It wasn't a ton.
00:23:37
Speaker
It was what, like $40 or something?
00:23:38
Speaker
Not horrible.
00:23:40
Speaker
It was the principle of it at that point.
00:23:42
Speaker
And it was $40 for three.
00:23:44
Speaker
I don't know if you got the same one.
00:23:45
Speaker
Yeah.
00:23:45
Speaker
Yeah, I got the same one.
00:23:46
Speaker
It was the three, right?
00:23:47
Speaker
Yeah.
00:23:48
Speaker
Yeah, it was just for three rides.
00:23:50
Speaker
And I don't know.
00:23:51
Speaker
None of them were worth paying $40 for.
00:23:56
Speaker
That's the hobby, I guess.
00:23:59
Speaker
The park overall was decent looking.
00:24:01
Speaker
It didn't go hard on the theming, but it was nice and the theming was decent, but definitely not as good as some of the other parks we saw earlier in the trip.
00:24:14
Speaker
Yeah, they also had a little haunted house, I think, which we wanted to go into, but they were actually letting people in
00:24:25
Speaker
every 15 minutes.
00:24:27
Speaker
And when they would let the people in, it would be like a group of maybe about 20 people, maybe less than that.
00:24:35
Speaker
So,
00:24:36
Speaker
With the amount of people on the line when we were at the end of it, we were probably going to be waiting there about 45 minutes to an hour because it was such a small group that they would let in at a time.
00:24:44
Speaker
And it was every 15 minutes.
00:24:46
Speaker
So we didn't get to do that, which was a bummer.
00:24:49
Speaker
It was a normal madhouse.
00:24:51
Speaker
Oh, you did?
00:24:52
Speaker
Oh, sweet.
00:24:53
Speaker
That's what I was going to say.
00:24:54
Speaker
It looks like an awesome haunted house experience.
00:24:57
Speaker
I was excited.
00:24:58
Speaker
And it's another madhouse.
00:25:03
Speaker
Well, thank you for making me feel better about that because Caleb and I were kind of bummed about that.
00:25:07
Speaker
We were like, damn it.
00:25:08
Speaker
We wanted to do it.
00:25:09
Speaker
Why were they running a madhouse only every 15 minutes?
00:25:12
Speaker
That's wild.
00:25:13
Speaker
It was like a full experience type of thing.
00:25:16
Speaker
So they had a little pre-show and then a little, I guess, like walkthrough area before you actually get in.
00:25:24
Speaker
But yeah, it's just a madhouse.
00:25:26
Speaker
You missed nothing.
00:25:27
Speaker
Europe loves those.
00:25:29
Speaker
Yeah.
00:25:30
Speaker
I had no idea.
00:25:31
Speaker
I didn't even look into it afterwards.
00:25:32
Speaker
I really didn't even care.
00:25:33
Speaker
It was very cheesy.
00:25:35
Speaker
Also, you can tell it was built in like the mid nineties and not refurbed once since then.
00:25:43
Speaker
Yikes.
00:25:46
Speaker
Yeah, but I mean, I don't know.
00:25:47
Speaker
There's really nothing else to say about this park, honestly.
00:25:50
Speaker
I mean, it's there.
00:25:53
Speaker
It exists.
00:25:53
Speaker
And it's funny because we all took pictures.
00:25:54
Speaker
Well, at least Shay and I, we took a picture in front of the I love Drayton sign.
00:25:58
Speaker
And no, that was not the case.
00:26:02
Speaker
We did not love it.
00:26:03
Speaker
It was very disappointing.
00:26:06
Speaker
It sucked that that was like the last park.
00:26:10
Speaker
Well, like for myself, I know you guys.
00:26:12
Speaker
did other things, but that was the last park for us.
00:26:14
Speaker
And that was kind of a, a bummer to end on, but it was fine.
00:26:18
Speaker
Yeah.
00:26:18
Speaker
The biggest win of that park day was that, uh, everybody made it to the bus on time afterwards.
00:26:25
Speaker
Yeah.
00:26:29
Speaker
I know Tim and Tyler, they did the thing.
00:26:33
Speaker
They got everybody there on time.
00:26:36
Speaker
Yeah, well, people were ready to leave the park.
00:26:39
Speaker
I think it's that too.
00:26:40
Speaker
Had it been like another park that we all enjoyed, maybe some of us would have been late.
00:26:44
Speaker
Also, the only last thing I have to say, how gross were those bathrooms that we used at the end?
00:26:50
Speaker
Did you go in there?
00:26:51
Speaker
I did not go in.
00:26:52
Speaker
Oh my God.
00:26:53
Speaker
But I heard all of you guys, you guys were like running to Shay.
00:26:55
Speaker
Cause I think somebody said that Shay had hand sanitizer.
00:26:58
Speaker
Shay, give us hand sanitizer.
00:26:59
Speaker
Like this is disgusting.
00:27:00
Speaker
I'm like, what is going on?
00:27:01
Speaker
Like what was in there?
00:27:02
Speaker
It was basically like an outhouse.
00:27:04
Speaker
It was terrible.
00:27:05
Speaker
I don't know why that's acceptable to have in a park.
00:27:10
Speaker
And a lot of the bathrooms at the parks in England were really nice.
00:27:14
Speaker
Yeah.
00:27:14
Speaker
So again, to end on a sort of dud, even just from a bathroom perspective.
00:27:20
Speaker
Yeah.
00:27:22
Speaker
Was that still technically in the park though?
00:27:24
Speaker
I can't remember.
00:27:25
Speaker
Was that before?
00:27:27
Speaker
It might've been just out of the exit gate.
00:27:29
Speaker
Cause that's what I was thinking.
00:27:31
Speaker
I'm like, was that even part of the park?
00:27:33
Speaker
But either way, I mean, I would have still expected a nice bathroom.
00:27:39
Speaker
But yeah, you guys did not miss out.
00:27:41
Speaker
Honestly, but yeah.
00:27:45
Speaker
But how about you guys?
00:27:46
Speaker
I know that you guys had... Well, Kelly, what did

Wallaby Holland Surprises

00:27:49
Speaker
you do?
00:27:49
Speaker
Because you ended in Blackpool.
00:27:53
Speaker
Yep.
00:27:54
Speaker
We went to Wallaby Holland just for the day on Sunday before flying home.
00:27:59
Speaker
So that was the only park I did afterward.
00:28:02
Speaker
I know Joey went there later in his travels as well.
00:28:05
Speaker
I did.
00:28:06
Speaker
Yep.
00:28:09
Speaker
Yeah, I guess we could talk about one briefly.
00:28:13
Speaker
I would say, so the impression of this part that I had going into it was that it sucked because that's what everyone, not everyone, that's what someone that I live with was telling me for the past three years.
00:28:28
Speaker
Yeah.
00:28:30
Speaker
was that it's an awful park and the rides are awful and it's like worse than six flags.
00:28:35
Speaker
So I kind of went in there like I was tired.
00:28:37
Speaker
And I like, honestly, Sunday morning when my alarm went off to get on the flight to go to the Netherlands, I was like, I kind of really want to go home.
00:28:45
Speaker
Like I'm pretty over this.
00:28:47
Speaker
I didn't want to go.
00:28:49
Speaker
But then surprise of the trip, I loved it there.
00:28:53
Speaker
It was maybe even like in...
00:28:56
Speaker
rivaled Blackpool for me, which was my favorite park of the stumble.
00:29:00
Speaker
I really enjoyed it.
00:29:01
Speaker
I thought, yeah, I could see where like, there's definitely elements of like the six flags feel there, but like, there's a lot of greenery.
00:29:08
Speaker
There's beautiful theming.
00:29:09
Speaker
We could talk about some of that ride highlights just to keep it brief, but like,
00:29:14
Speaker
I think everything was really well done there and they have a good lineup, like better than anything else I was at during the trip.
00:29:21
Speaker
Like it was a little bit more stacked than I would say even Thorpe, like for me personally.
00:29:25
Speaker
Yeah.
00:29:27
Speaker
So we started off Mark from the Netherlands met us there, which was really nice.
00:29:31
Speaker
He was only there for like the first hour or two of our day, but it was nice to like walk around his park with him and he could tell us like extra stuff about it.
00:29:39
Speaker
I guess let's talk about Joy first.

New RMC Single Rail Discussion

00:29:42
Speaker
Joy, Joy.
00:29:44
Speaker
Oh boy.
00:29:45
Speaker
Oh my God.
00:29:45
Speaker
What a letdown.
00:29:46
Speaker
Yeah.
00:29:46
Speaker
I want to hear about that.
00:29:48
Speaker
Such a letdown by far the worst RMC I've ridden, like worst of the single rails and worst of everything.
00:29:56
Speaker
Like, so the theming beautiful, like the queue area, beautiful.
00:30:01
Speaker
Like they have the green and the blue sides, everything split.
00:30:04
Speaker
It's like beautiful in the station.
00:30:06
Speaker
I'm like, wow, this is really well done.
00:30:08
Speaker
Like I'm getting hyped.
00:30:08
Speaker
It looks beautiful.
00:30:09
Speaker
Watching the trains like interact.
00:30:11
Speaker
Yeah.
00:30:12
Speaker
We did the thrill side first because Mark said the queue would get longer.
00:30:18
Speaker
Which it did.
00:30:18
Speaker
It was more inversion-focused.
00:30:22
Speaker
This is the... Was Thrill Green?
00:30:24
Speaker
Yes.
00:30:25
Speaker
Yeah.
00:30:26
Speaker
It was more inversion-focused and I...
00:30:31
Speaker
sat in the back, I want to say, it doesn't matter.
00:30:33
Speaker
Regardless, you could feel every single weld joint on that freaking track.
00:30:39
Speaker
Like, and you can kind of feel that in parts of the other single rails.
00:30:43
Speaker
Like I can always think Jersey Devil, there's like one little spot where like you come, I think out of the like Camelback and into the stall where it's like, and you can like kind of feel it like in your skull.
00:30:54
Speaker
It was that, but like every 10 seconds on this ride.
00:30:57
Speaker
Um, so I got off and was like, that wasn't very good.
00:31:01
Speaker
So we went right to the chill side, which I did prefer actually to the thrill side.
00:31:05
Speaker
I liked it better because it was a little bit more airtime focused, but still it was not smooth for a ride that opened like in the past, I don't know, two months, one month.
00:31:17
Speaker
Insane.
00:31:17
Speaker
Has anyone been in one of the Intamin Hot Racer single rails?
00:31:23
Speaker
No wonder if I wonder if that's a better ride experience from like a standpoint of feeling.
00:31:29
Speaker
I heard that the one in Australia was kind of bumpy, too.
00:31:32
Speaker
But Mahooka has gotten good reviews.
00:31:34
Speaker
So I wonder if that's better.
00:31:36
Speaker
I know at least the restraint is probably nicer because it's basically just the Velocicoaster restraint, but in a single like single file line.
00:31:44
Speaker
Yeah, that could be a thousand times more comfortable.
00:31:46
Speaker
I mean, it's the same exact restraint system we're used to on the single rail.
00:31:49
Speaker
Yeah, it's the same.
00:31:50
Speaker
Your legs are kind of in that like.
00:31:52
Speaker
position where your knees are are like in further than like, you know, you guys know, everyone listening knows what I'm talking about.
00:31:59
Speaker
It's like a saddle.
00:32:00
Speaker
It wasn't like it wasn't like any less comfortable than any of the other ones.
00:32:05
Speaker
It was just like literally the the transitions like on the track.
00:32:09
Speaker
Do you agree or am I being crazy?
00:32:11
Speaker
I think I liked it more than you did, but I agree that it's not smooth.
00:32:16
Speaker
And it's probably one of the rougher feeling single rails even.
00:32:21
Speaker
I think I'm just kind of used to that roughness.
00:32:23
Speaker
Like I come to expect it from the Raptors at this point.
00:32:27
Speaker
So, I mean, it still caught me a little bit off guard, like how...
00:32:32
Speaker
how much you could feel it considering how new it is.
00:32:35
Speaker
Cause I remember writing wonder woman when it was still fairly new and it was not like that.
00:32:40
Speaker
But it seems like all of the gen two Raptors are like that, which is weird.
00:32:45
Speaker
Like, I don't understand because the funny thing about RMC is like they're, especially their, their gen two I box trains are like perfect.
00:32:52
Speaker
The wheel assembly is just amazing.
00:32:54
Speaker
glide over the track and unless the park is not keeping like care of the track it rides like beautifully smooth and then you get to the raptors they just like kind of ride like a trash can down the track like it this the sound it makes too is it just feels like cheap and it sounds cheap um which obviously like it's designed to be a cheaper ride model so i get that um
00:33:18
Speaker
But yeah, I mean, I still enjoyed them.
00:33:21
Speaker
I just would have enjoyed it more if it was smoother.
00:33:23
Speaker
I thought that the dueling aspect was very well executed.
00:33:26
Speaker
It's very cool to watch off ride, but it's also enjoyable on ride the way that.
00:33:34
Speaker
you're not like parallel with the other train the entire time.
00:33:37
Speaker
It sort of splits apart and then you'll pass each other again and you twist over each other and some things.
00:33:42
Speaker
So it's, it's like, you know, um, twisted Colossus if it actually dueled every time, because while we were there, I saw it.
00:33:49
Speaker
I think maybe they had like an ADA moment on one track and didn't run both at once, but otherwise every single time it would sync up.
00:33:55
Speaker
And like, even if one of the trains dispatched late, um,
00:33:58
Speaker
the lift would sort of like jog and like they would catch back up to each other really well.
00:34:02
Speaker
So the programming was like super well executed in terms of making sure that the duels happen, which I thought was great.
00:34:09
Speaker
But yeah, I, I agree.
00:34:11
Speaker
Like the, the thrill track seemed to be more popular with the, the public at the park.
00:34:16
Speaker
Like it got a longer queue, but there was for sure more airtime on the blue track with a chill track.
00:34:23
Speaker
Yeah.
00:34:24
Speaker
Um, so I think I liked it more and I wrote it more because the queue is always shorter for that one.
00:34:30
Speaker
I think I wrote that like three or four times and I just wrote the thrill one once because the line just like was always longer.
00:34:38
Speaker
But yeah, I mean, it was and the airtime on the blue is not like RMC traditional airtime.
00:34:44
Speaker
It's more like floaty, not super strong, which is intentional, I feel, because it's supposed to be like the less.
00:34:50
Speaker
Yeah, it's supposed to be more tame.
00:34:51
Speaker
And I think that's what the park wanted.
00:34:53
Speaker
So because we know that Joe can produce a coaster with ridiculous negative G's like look at RE Force One.
00:35:00
Speaker
But I think that was very intentional.
00:35:01
Speaker
It's just kind of a shame that like.
00:35:03
Speaker
As they have improved their other models, it seems like the Raptor is getting worse.
00:35:10
Speaker
I don't know.
00:35:10
Speaker
It's weird.
00:35:11
Speaker
Yeah, it was disappointing for sure.
00:35:13
Speaker
I think like for me, the three other major coasters in the park like stole the show by far in comparison.

Untamed at Wallaby Holland

00:35:21
Speaker
Maybe that's just me, but...
00:35:23
Speaker
Yeah, I think you were so under hyped for the park or not under hype, but just like you heard so much negativity about it that going in, it's like easy to be impressed almost.
00:35:31
Speaker
But I agree, like their lineup is strong.
00:35:33
Speaker
And I think it's stronger than the other Wallaby Park in Belgium, because they have a really high high with condo there.
00:35:38
Speaker
But then everything else is kind of like there.
00:35:40
Speaker
Agree.
00:35:41
Speaker
Yeah, I loved Untamed.
00:35:42
Speaker
Just to briefly touch on that.
00:35:44
Speaker
I
00:35:45
Speaker
have it like very high in my rank.
00:35:47
Speaker
It's in my top 25 and it's like high up in my RMCs.
00:35:51
Speaker
It's like the kind of the first like three quarters of it is like bigger sweeping like movements, which is like what I prefer in RMC.
00:35:58
Speaker
And then just the end is a little bit more of that, like off access bucking, which isn't my favorite, but like overall, I think the ride was so much better than I expected.
00:36:08
Speaker
And that's just really due to the expectations I had probably set for it.
00:36:12
Speaker
Um,
00:36:13
Speaker
Yeah, I enjoyed it.
00:36:15
Speaker
I love that's one of my faves.
00:36:17
Speaker
It was really good.
00:36:17
Speaker
I think it's potentially the best small scale RMC.
00:36:22
Speaker
I don't even know if I'd call it like small scale.
00:36:24
Speaker
It was much bigger looking to me than I thought.
00:36:26
Speaker
Like, I mean, it's only like 100 feet tall.
00:36:28
Speaker
Yeah, I guess so.
00:36:30
Speaker
I just feel like it's the layout is maybe a little bit more vast than like.
00:36:35
Speaker
Yeah, yeah.
00:36:35
Speaker
The original wood coaster that was there lent itself to some of that like sweeping motion at the beginning, which is kind of nice.
00:36:42
Speaker
That's what I like about it.
00:36:43
Speaker
It's a variety like it.
00:36:45
Speaker
Twisted Timbers kind of does a lot of the same thing, I feel like.
00:36:47
Speaker
And this gives you a little bit more kind of weirdness.
00:36:50
Speaker
And the first inversion is super interesting and floaty.
00:36:53
Speaker
And you get some really strong sustained air, but then you get the little pops of air.
00:36:57
Speaker
And you get that final inversion, which to me is really unique for an RMC.
00:37:02
Speaker
I just, yeah.
00:37:03
Speaker
And I love the theme as well.
00:37:04
Speaker
I think it's cool.
00:37:05
Speaker
Same.
00:37:05
Speaker
It's really cool.
00:37:06
Speaker
Loved that.
00:37:07
Speaker
Loved Goliath.
00:37:09
Speaker
Really strong airtime, stronger than I expected.
00:37:11
Speaker
The rest was kind of just like how you'd expect an intimate of that age to ride, but definitely stronger airtime than I've gotten on like Superman New England.
00:37:21
Speaker
I really was impressed by that.
00:37:23
Speaker
And also I loved Lost Gravity in my mock era.
00:37:28
Speaker
I didn't even remember that that ride existed.
00:37:30
Speaker
The airtime was so good.
00:37:32
Speaker
It was like such a unique layout.
00:37:34
Speaker
I rode that like when we had a little bit of extra time and we had to choose what to do.
00:37:38
Speaker
I went back to that.
00:37:39
Speaker
So I really loved that too.
00:37:41
Speaker
It's really fun.
00:37:42
Speaker
And the queue is super cool too.
00:37:43
Speaker
The way they did all the playing around with gravity and stuff in it is fun.
00:37:47
Speaker
Very underrated.
00:37:48
Speaker
I feel like nobody talks about that ride.
00:37:51
Speaker
Yes.
00:37:51
Speaker
Yeah, I think some people complain about like the mock rattle per se on that, but I wrote it like front and back and like, yeah, there's some of it, but I don't find it to be ride ruining.
00:38:01
Speaker
Actually, I even some of my rides on Voltron had worse rattle like 100%.
00:38:05
Speaker
Yeah, 100%.
00:38:07
Speaker
Yeah.
00:38:08
Speaker
And also shout out to the queue for their rock and roller coaster, whatever the heck it's called.
00:38:13
Speaker
Oh, whatever.
00:38:14
Speaker
That was really cool.
00:38:15
Speaker
The rest of the ride sucked.
00:38:19
Speaker
So that ride actually went down on our way out.
00:38:21
Speaker
And unfortunately, Javi and Craig did not get to pick that up.
00:38:25
Speaker
And it's my second time there.
00:38:26
Speaker
And Speed of Sound was down the whole day again.
00:38:29
Speaker
That's okay.
00:38:30
Speaker
It was for your benefit.
00:38:31
Speaker
That was one of the worst boomerangs I've done, to be honest.
00:38:34
Speaker
Oh, no.
00:38:35
Speaker
Okay.
00:38:35
Speaker
Yeah, it was bad.
00:38:37
Speaker
I was like, well, I'm not coming back here unless they add another ride.
00:38:39
Speaker
But it is a fun park.
00:38:41
Speaker
I yeah, I enjoy it.
00:38:44
Speaker
Yeah, it's fun.
00:38:48
Speaker
All three of those top three made it into my top 50, I think.
00:38:53
Speaker
Very good.
00:38:54
Speaker
Nice.
00:38:58
Speaker
All right.
00:38:59
Speaker
So where did we go next after that?
00:39:02
Speaker
I see Lisa Berg.
00:39:03
Speaker
You went to Lisa Berg, right?

Lisaberg Praise

00:39:05
Speaker
While y'all were having a miserable day.
00:39:07
Speaker
You were having a better day than us.
00:39:08
Speaker
At Drake Manor.
00:39:09
Speaker
We were having the best day at Lisa Berg.
00:39:12
Speaker
So shout out to like the 13th.
00:39:14
Speaker
of us, I think, that went to Lisaberg.
00:39:19
Speaker
We did the same thing that Kelly did, where we flew super early out of Manchester after the Blackpool Day to Gothenburg.
00:39:28
Speaker
And super convenient to get to the park.
00:39:30
Speaker
It's in the center of the city, so we just took a bus from the airport
00:39:35
Speaker
into Gothenburg and like walk to the park.
00:39:38
Speaker
It's right there.
00:39:39
Speaker
Um, which is super cool.
00:39:41
Speaker
I like the parks that are like integrated into the city.
00:39:44
Speaker
It's kind of cool.
00:39:45
Speaker
Um, one, one of the most unique things about the park is its geography.
00:39:50
Speaker
It has a big hill in the middle of it.
00:39:53
Speaker
And then there are like, uh,
00:39:55
Speaker
five to six, maybe more rides built onto and around it.
00:40:01
Speaker
And they intertwine with each other, the coasters do.
00:40:04
Speaker
And so you get a lot of cool visuals and a lot of cool like dueling moments between the different coasters and rides as you're going around.
00:40:11
Speaker
Really enjoyed that.
00:40:13
Speaker
Also, they offer a free virtual queue service in their app.
00:40:18
Speaker
So you can literally just book rides like all day long for free while you're there and then skip the line, which is like the most guest friendly thing ever.
00:40:26
Speaker
It was so great to be able to do that.
00:40:29
Speaker
And it's not limited to like pretty much any of the major rides you can do that for.
00:40:33
Speaker
So like we were doing it for Helix and for the other coasters if we saw the line was longer.
00:40:38
Speaker
Um, yeah, we just had like a really amazing time.
00:40:42
Speaker
Um, the, the guest experience was so friendly with the food was good.
00:40:46
Speaker
Um, the environment is just fun with so many coasters intertwining and all of the rides.
00:40:52
Speaker
Uh, we, I think most of us were riding, this is non-coaster, but most of us got to ride an Intamin gyro swing for the first time in Loki.
00:41:02
Speaker
And that was awesome.
00:41:04
Speaker
It is better than the Zamperla like giant pendulums at the Six Flags parks.
00:41:08
Speaker
The airtime is like stronger and the restraint is not a Velocicoaster restraint, but very similar.
00:41:14
Speaker
It's a similar lap bar.
00:41:16
Speaker
So it's very freeing.
00:41:17
Speaker
That was fantastic.
00:41:19
Speaker
Would recommend doing that if you go there for sure.
00:41:22
Speaker
They had a cute dark ride.
00:41:25
Speaker
We did a little garden boat ride, all the kinds of things that like make a park feel complete.
00:41:30
Speaker
They had we did the log flume, Tyler.
00:41:34
Speaker
Three other people to get on the log flume with me and then they got mad because we got wet.
00:41:40
Speaker
And it was kind of windy that day.
00:41:41
Speaker
But speaking of the wind, this is another thing that like kind of sold us on the guest experience.
00:41:47
Speaker
You know, we had come from Blackpool where a big one was closed all day with the wind.
00:41:51
Speaker
And I'm sure it was just like exceeding the value or whatever because their staff was standing by as if they might be able to open it.
00:41:58
Speaker
But at Leesburg, it was wild because it was strong wind again that day.
00:42:03
Speaker
But the rides that were on top of the hill would periodically close for the wind.
00:42:10
Speaker
especially the tall rides like their drop tower is on top of the hill.
00:42:13
Speaker
So it's like way up there.
00:42:14
Speaker
The view is incredible.
00:42:16
Speaker
Would definitely recommend that.
00:42:18
Speaker
But they would they would be on and off like all day.
00:42:21
Speaker
But we so appreciated the fact that literally like it seemed it would just go like one mile under the limit and they would open it and just go and they would run it for like two cycles and then it would close again.
00:42:33
Speaker
So I really appreciated that they were like on it.
00:42:35
Speaker
To not be like, oh, like this wind is so high, we're just close it all day.
00:42:39
Speaker
Like, no, they kept them staffed the entire day and they would run it for one or two cycles if that's all they got before they hit their threshold again.
00:42:45
Speaker
So that was great.
00:42:46
Speaker
And it helped us to be able to get on things that maybe wouldn't have at another park.
00:42:51
Speaker
Um, Helix is obviously the highlight there.
00:42:53
Speaker
Um, I know that some people have it like really highly ranked.
00:42:58
Speaker
Um, it exceeded my expectations, but my expectations were not that it's going to be like a number one coaster or something.
00:43:05
Speaker
I thought it was going to be like a, a good mock.
00:43:09
Speaker
And I think it came away like feeling like it's a great mock.
00:43:12
Speaker
It's definitely like worth going there for.
00:43:16
Speaker
And especially with a virtual queue, like it enables you to get multiple rides on it and you can ride in different places on the train and all of that.
00:43:24
Speaker
It's got some really good airtime, really get great views.
00:43:28
Speaker
There's a little bit of like meandering kind of like Copperhead Strike has some of that like meandering aspect to it, which takes it a little bit away from it for me.
00:43:37
Speaker
But because it has a better setting, that's not like as much of a negative as it is on Copperhead.
00:43:44
Speaker
And then the other highlights are Balder, which is their Intamin prefab.
00:43:50
Speaker
It is much smoother than El Toro.
00:43:53
Speaker
Really good airtime.
00:43:54
Speaker
Some people preferred it to El Toro.
00:43:56
Speaker
I wouldn't quite say that because it's not like the airtime is not as strong.
00:44:01
Speaker
Um, but it was quite, quite fun, um, more enjoyable than I expected.
00:44:05
Speaker
And then they have an old Schwartzgaff, um, Lisa Bergbanon, which goes like all over the hill and it was just like well maintained and smooth and super fun.
00:44:15
Speaker
So yeah, we had an amazing day there.
00:44:18
Speaker
I really liked that park.
00:44:20
Speaker
It's probably my number one park for where I need a redemption visit.
00:44:25
Speaker
Cause I think overall the group did not have a great day and we actually ended up leaving sort of early cause it was so busy.
00:44:32
Speaker
There was a concert or something that night.
00:44:34
Speaker
Yeah.
00:44:34
Speaker
This was the day.
00:44:35
Speaker
Yeah.
00:44:35
Speaker
Cause I,
00:44:36
Speaker
I know that coming into it, Larson was saying, this is my redemption visit because he was there the same day you were, right?
00:44:43
Speaker
Yeah.
00:44:43
Speaker
Yeah.
00:44:43
Speaker
And he was like, yeah, last time we were here, it was awful.
00:44:47
Speaker
And he was surprised by like, what an amazing day that we were having, considering that the crowds were not like completely crazy.
00:44:54
Speaker
I mean, it was definitely a lively day.
00:44:55
Speaker
It was not dead by any means, but with the virtual queue and like their operations are good there.
00:45:01
Speaker
So they like turn through people on their rides.
00:45:02
Speaker
Like it just went so well.
00:45:04
Speaker
It was great.
00:45:06
Speaker
Lisaburg is the highest park on my bucket list right now.
00:45:10
Speaker
It's great.
00:45:11
Speaker
I like really wanted our Sunday to be there.
00:45:14
Speaker
And that was the original plan, like to take the same flight that you guys did, but there just wasn't a flight to get us home from there.
00:45:20
Speaker
That made sense.
00:45:21
Speaker
Gothenburg is kind of small.
00:45:23
Speaker
Yeah.
00:45:24
Speaker
Yeah.
00:45:24
Speaker
But I really, really want to go there.
00:45:26
Speaker
That's like very high on my list.
00:45:28
Speaker
Highly recommend.
00:45:29
Speaker
I love that, that free virtual queue thing though.
00:45:31
Speaker
That's pretty awesome.
00:45:32
Speaker
Yeah.
00:45:33
Speaker
And that helps a lot.
00:45:35
Speaker
Yes, it truly like and it's not one of those things where it's super limited.
00:45:39
Speaker
It's like sort of like Disney, I guess, where as soon as you redeem it, you can go get another one.
00:45:43
Speaker
And so, you know, like we would we would scan it and then like start walking in the queue and just pick up another one right away.
00:45:49
Speaker
So we probably used it like, I don't know, six to seven times that day.
00:45:53
Speaker
It was great.
00:45:56
Speaker
Nice.
00:46:01
Speaker
So what's next?
00:46:02
Speaker
Where'd you guys go after that?
00:46:05
Speaker
By the way, I'm done with this stumble for me.
00:46:08
Speaker
My trip ended, unfortunately.
00:46:11
Speaker
You're already back working at this point.
00:46:13
Speaker
I was already working at this point.
00:46:14
Speaker
I was having all the FOMO, looking at everybody's stories.
00:46:17
Speaker
I was back home already.
00:46:18
Speaker
But yeah, I know that the rest, well, not the rest, but some Buzz Bars people went over to Linamaki.
00:46:26
Speaker
You guys were there.
00:46:27
Speaker
Well, Tim, were you there as well?
00:46:28
Speaker
No, you weren't.
00:46:29
Speaker
I think it was just me in this group.
00:46:31
Speaker
Oh, I thought Tyler didn't go to there.
00:46:33
Speaker
Well, Tyler and I went straight to Madrid after Drayton Manor.
00:46:38
Speaker
Yeah.
00:46:39
Speaker
And we can talk about that, I think, because Jim gets multiple parks he went to after that.
00:46:46
Speaker
Yeah, Tim, start us off.

Madrid Adventure

00:46:49
Speaker
Yeah, so the day after Drayton, Tyler and I flew to Madrid.
00:46:56
Speaker
I don't even know if it's during a heat wave.
00:46:57
Speaker
I think it's just summer in Madrid.
00:46:59
Speaker
It was just 100 degrees every day.
00:47:01
Speaker
Yeah, very hot.
00:47:04
Speaker
And, you know, we stayed in like the city center, which was a really cool part of town.
00:47:11
Speaker
And that first day after kind of just grabbing some lunch and resting a bit, we ended up at Park de Attractions.
00:47:20
Speaker
We got on the Paw Patrol roller coaster before rain shut down the entire park.
00:47:28
Speaker
That was my idea, by the way.
00:47:30
Speaker
Paw Patrol, let's go.
00:47:31
Speaker
That was Tyler's priority.
00:47:35
Speaker
The rain ended up, honestly, really in our favor.
00:47:39
Speaker
The luck we had at this park was just unbelievable, where...
00:47:45
Speaker
So each ride sort of opened one by one throughout the rest of the evening.
00:47:51
Speaker
And we would just happen to be walking past a ride right when it started testing.
00:47:57
Speaker
So then we'd be the first people in line as the running of the bulls of all the kids and everything like started to rush towards that ride while it was testing.
00:48:04
Speaker
And it literally happened with every ride there.
00:48:08
Speaker
And they have some interesting ones.
00:48:10
Speaker
I mean, it's not like an elite park or anything, but it's cool because it's in a park like right in downtown Madrid.
00:48:17
Speaker
It's a city park for sure.
00:48:19
Speaker
And it's kind of a neat aspect of it.
00:48:24
Speaker
Yeah.
00:48:24
Speaker
And when he says running of the Bulls,
00:48:27
Speaker
It's 100% a full sprint from every child in that park when they see a ride coming up.
00:48:34
Speaker
Like, it was crazy.
00:48:35
Speaker
And for us to be at the front of three or four different lines, like the very first people there and the rest of them, you know, we were in the first, you know, probably 30 people was so lucky.
00:48:49
Speaker
Highlight coasters.
00:48:50
Speaker
I mean, Tornado, the Intamin suspended looping, whatever you want to call it.
00:48:56
Speaker
It was a ride.
00:48:58
Speaker
It was fine.
00:48:59
Speaker
It's fine.
00:49:01
Speaker
Yeah.
00:49:03
Speaker
But it was decent.
00:49:04
Speaker
We got a rain ride on that sort of, right?
00:49:06
Speaker
We did get a rain ride on that.
00:49:07
Speaker
Yeah, it was still kind of coming down a little bit.
00:49:11
Speaker
They have a family Gerstlauer TNT.
00:49:14
Speaker
That's kind of good.
00:49:16
Speaker
Did you guys like it?
00:49:17
Speaker
It was kind of fun.
00:49:18
Speaker
It's kind of good.
00:49:19
Speaker
Yeah.
00:49:19
Speaker
I enjoyed it.
00:49:21
Speaker
Yeah.
00:49:21
Speaker
I did not enjoy the wait for it because it was on one train and it probably took an hour.
00:49:25
Speaker
Oh, no.
00:49:28
Speaker
It was decent.
00:49:29
Speaker
It had multiple little tunnels in there.
00:49:31
Speaker
Some theming.
00:49:31
Speaker
So it was good.
00:49:33
Speaker
The spinner was a solid spinner.
00:49:36
Speaker
I really liked that spinner.
00:49:37
Speaker
Yeah.
00:49:38
Speaker
That was probably my favorite thing in the park.
00:49:42
Speaker
Is that the one where the final breaks were just ridiculous and we were watching people?
00:49:49
Speaker
Probably.
00:49:49
Speaker
Yeah.
00:49:50
Speaker
That like device that would straighten the, the, the car.
00:49:53
Speaker
Oh yeah.
00:49:54
Speaker
Yeah.
00:49:55
Speaker
Slam you forward.
00:49:56
Speaker
That's specific to Maurer.
00:49:57
Speaker
All of their spinners, like that realignment thing, just slams you.
00:50:05
Speaker
That was fun.
00:50:05
Speaker
Honestly, the log flume was really interesting there.
00:50:11
Speaker
I was with Tyler, so we did a log flume.
00:50:13
Speaker
And we didn't know it until we were going down the first drop, but there's no water going down the drops on that log flume.
00:50:22
Speaker
It's just like a dry drop.
00:50:25
Speaker
Yeah, it's kind of weird.
00:50:27
Speaker
But that was a soaker for sure.
00:50:29
Speaker
Yeah.
00:50:31
Speaker
It was good.
00:50:31
Speaker
I mean, when it's 95 degrees, 100 degrees, we were dry in probably 10 minutes.
00:50:36
Speaker
Right.
00:50:37
Speaker
Didn't matter at all.
00:50:38
Speaker
Honestly, we should have ridden it because it was so hot.
00:50:41
Speaker
And then we were, it was not looking like we were going to get on Abysmo.
00:50:47
Speaker
It was not reopening.
00:50:50
Speaker
We, you know, I thought I knew more Spanish than I did.
00:50:55
Speaker
It turns out I know a decent amount of words, but not how to put together a sentence or a question.
00:51:01
Speaker
Tyler knows better than I did, but even just trying to communicate with the ride ops there to see if they're opening, the only thing that he could really tell us is not yet rain.
00:51:13
Speaker
And so it was starting to rain a little more again.
00:51:16
Speaker
I think it was like 8.20, and Tyler was like, if it's not testing by 8.45, maybe we leave.
00:51:24
Speaker
And I think it was like 8.35, 8.40, it starts testing.
00:51:30
Speaker
And we got on that first train.
00:51:33
Speaker
It was really lucky.
00:51:37
Speaker
And I thought it was a really fun ride.
00:51:38
Speaker
I really liked it.
00:51:39
Speaker
I've never done any of the...
00:51:41
Speaker
The Maurer sky loops.
00:51:42
Speaker
It's a crazy, strange sensation, kind of turning over on yourself at the top of that vertical lift.
00:51:50
Speaker
And then this one has the extended layout.
00:51:54
Speaker
Decent little airtime hill halfway through.
00:51:55
Speaker
I thought it was a fun little ride.
00:51:58
Speaker
Yeah, I actually enjoyed it.
00:51:59
Speaker
I didn't think it was very rough at all.
00:52:02
Speaker
Very interesting sensation coming off of that vertical lift.
00:52:08
Speaker
One thing about this park, the line cutting was horrible.
00:52:13
Speaker
And I include when I say line cutting, I include just like kids.
00:52:18
Speaker
not walking the queue line and just ducking under ropes and stuff and chains.
00:52:22
Speaker
I got a funny video.
00:52:24
Speaker
I'm sure you guys saw that I posted in discord of just an entire line of children walking underneath the chain, not a single person using the actual entrance.
00:52:33
Speaker
But shout out to the ride-off on Abysmo, who made every single person in line walk behind him as he walked the entire queue so that nobody cut in front.
00:52:43
Speaker
He walked all the switchbacks and made everyone – he was stern about it too.
00:52:47
Speaker
Yeah.
00:52:48
Speaker
Well, he didn't
00:52:49
Speaker
Yeah, Ian, Tim, and I, we were about to duck under because we're like, you know, do as the locals do.
00:52:54
Speaker
That's apparently the vibe in this park.
00:52:56
Speaker
And he like half yelled at me to like stay underneath and follow him.
00:53:01
Speaker
So I was like, okay, yes, sir, sorry.
00:53:03
Speaker
He slowly walked those switchbacks too.
00:53:06
Speaker
Yeah.
00:53:07
Speaker
And that line probably got to an hour before we even got off the ride.
00:53:11
Speaker
So our timing was great.
00:53:14
Speaker
Yep.
00:53:15
Speaker
But overall, nothing too special with the park.
00:53:18
Speaker
It's pretty basic, not much theming, sort of just plopped down in the middle of a pleasant city park.
00:53:25
Speaker
They had a really interesting kind of just like river ride.
00:53:30
Speaker
What did you compare it to, Tyler?
00:53:33
Speaker
Oh, I think I said Timu Jungle Cruise.
00:53:38
Speaker
Yes, it was like a Jungle Cruise type thing.
00:53:40
Speaker
You get put on these little rafts that probably hold maybe like...
00:53:44
Speaker
eight people, 12 people at most, something like that.
00:53:46
Speaker
And it's just, it takes you alone, sort of a dated, maybe slightly racist, uh,
00:53:55
Speaker
picture of oh yeah of indigenous very very racist uh caricatures of i guess they were like african african like people yeah yeah not great but and then they i didn't even notice that existed there they had a walking dead uh like upcharge attraction that we did not do yeah
00:54:18
Speaker
Yeah, Joey, it was easy to miss.
00:54:22
Speaker
You had to walk up towards the Skyflyer area up the hill there, and there's four or five other attractions that could have been easy to miss if you didn't walk up there.
00:54:32
Speaker
We did not.
00:54:33
Speaker
We did not go up there.
00:54:35
Speaker
I guess for the context for our trip, this was the last two days for us.
00:54:38
Speaker
So we, we did some of the other parks I haven't talked about yet in between, but this was Marcus, myself, Javi and Craig.
00:54:45
Speaker
We did the same two parks that they did in the same order as well.
00:54:49
Speaker
Similarly had a very hot day there.
00:54:51
Speaker
Yeah.
00:54:52
Speaker
Uh, we were sweating for sure.
00:54:53
Speaker
And it tired us out pretty quickly.
00:54:57
Speaker
Um, I think the worst weight that we had was that, um, TNT, unfortunately, it's just, my God, their ops were so slow and the one train was kind of killing me.
00:55:06
Speaker
Um, but the rest of the time we, we kind of did okay with that and managed to stay ahead.
00:55:11
Speaker
Um,
00:55:12
Speaker
Yeah, the airtime hill and abysmo was nice to have that in there in that layout because it's kind of a lot.
00:55:18
Speaker
I still just really dislike the restraints because it makes me feel like I'm being like compressed.
00:55:24
Speaker
Maybe I needed to hold it up or something.
00:55:27
Speaker
I don't know.
00:55:28
Speaker
But yeah, there really wasn't anything there.
00:55:30
Speaker
Super notable.
00:55:30
Speaker
I think Tarantula was my favorite and that's just a spinner.
00:55:35
Speaker
we did notice that the Javi and I noticed that the because he had actually just gone to Bobby Unland and I've been there before and their wild mouse looks so familiar to me and I was like wait is that the other half of the one that used to be at Bobby Unland and it is
00:55:51
Speaker
So it's the same colors.
00:55:52
Speaker
They didn't even repaint it when they moved it.
00:55:53
Speaker
Oh, that's interesting.
00:55:55
Speaker
The one thing that was really cool that I've never seen anywhere else, I noticed TNT had it, and then Batman at the next park we'll talk about had it as well, is that trains had rear-facing POV cameras to film your on-ride experience, and then you could pay in the same way that you would pay for an on-ride photo.
00:56:18
Speaker
You could pay for like your on ride reverse POV video.
00:56:21
Speaker
And I think that's a really cool thing to include that Riser may be starting to do now.
00:56:29
Speaker
I think that's like that operator.
00:56:31
Speaker
I can't remember who it is now, but they have started doing that at like all of their parks.
00:56:36
Speaker
It's a neat idea.
00:56:42
Speaker
Otherwise, we just kind of bopped around Madrid a little bit that night.
00:56:46
Speaker
And then the next day, obviously, when we went to Park Warner, I rode my 700th roller coaster in Batman Gotham City Escape.

Batman Gotham City Escape Review

00:56:56
Speaker
What did you think about it, Tim?
00:56:58
Speaker
I thought it was incredible.
00:57:01
Speaker
I think it got better the more we rode it.
00:57:04
Speaker
It did, for sure.
00:57:05
Speaker
I had four rides on it.
00:57:08
Speaker
I thought the pre-show was a lot of fun, very cool.
00:57:13
Speaker
But as far as re-rides go, it's a lot to go through every time.
00:57:18
Speaker
Yeah, it definitely is.
00:57:20
Speaker
But that ride was...
00:57:22
Speaker
That was my first new gen Intamin launch coaster.
00:57:26
Speaker
Yeah, because you've ridden that before you've ridden Velocicoaster.
00:57:31
Speaker
I was very curious to see where this was going to rank for you.
00:57:34
Speaker
Just because I have no idea what you're going to think about Velocicoaster.
00:57:37
Speaker
Going back to a little earlier in the trip, I have Hyperia at 3 and Gotham City Escape at 5.
00:57:46
Speaker
But realistically, my 3, 4, and 5 can go in any order with Steel Vengeance at 4 right now.
00:57:52
Speaker
And those three could really be swapped any day of the week.
00:57:55
Speaker
And it would make sense.
00:57:57
Speaker
Yeah.
00:57:58
Speaker
But Batman specifically, the airtime hill after the top hat is some of the strongest airtime in the world.
00:58:07
Speaker
Maybe never felt before.
00:58:08
Speaker
Yeah.
00:58:09
Speaker
I just remember seeing you hands up, having a good time.
00:58:12
Speaker
And you're like, whoa, and grab back onto the rest.
00:58:15
Speaker
I thought I might have had a little too much room between the seats because they were not stapling there.
00:58:21
Speaker
And I remember afterwards, I was like, cool, I got a lot of room here.
00:58:25
Speaker
And on that hill, I was like, oh, that felt a little weird.
00:58:30
Speaker
And that moment right there is what Velocicoaster is missing.
00:58:35
Speaker
Yes.
00:58:36
Speaker
Yeah, I can agree with that.
00:58:39
Speaker
The only thing that takes a couple points off of Batman for me is just the awkward ending.
00:58:44
Speaker
I feel like you have so much speed still going, and then you go into this little sort of half-vertical spike, and then you just come back down into the brakes, and there's little...
00:58:58
Speaker
you know, theming at the end, but I just thought it was a very awkward way to end the ride.
00:59:02
Speaker
It's unique for sure, but I'd rather have another airtime hill and a little helix or something to end personally.
00:59:08
Speaker
I'd rather, I would even rather slam into a break run.
00:59:12
Speaker
Like,
00:59:14
Speaker
I mean to me it is the break run so like it's just a cool break run it just feels like intense when you sort of slam into a break run still with some momentum like Iron Quasi does this just yeah it just felt like weird and boring I don't know
00:59:31
Speaker
I wish that it didn't have as many trims on the spike and then it went further up because then you would get more zero G. And I think that would make it feel better for like what you guys are looking for.
00:59:41
Speaker
But I just considered it.
00:59:44
Speaker
Yeah.
00:59:44
Speaker
It feels like they're going for a real element, but it's already losing momentum because you have the stall, which is great for what it is.
00:59:50
Speaker
But then you're like going into the end and it's like dying rather than like.
00:59:54
Speaker
Yeah.
00:59:55
Speaker
Whereas Velocicoaster, it is.
00:59:57
Speaker
keeps up its pacing until the very last moment.
01:00:00
Speaker
And this kind of feels just like for me.
01:00:02
Speaker
And I know people disagree, people disagree to discord, but it just feels kind of like a letdown at the end of the ride.
01:00:07
Speaker
But that's just probably my preference.
01:00:09
Speaker
I don't like going back either.
01:00:10
Speaker
I could see why people would feel that way.
01:00:12
Speaker
Yeah.
01:00:13
Speaker
And we're sort of nitpicking.
01:00:14
Speaker
The ride is outstanding.
01:00:16
Speaker
It's absolutely an elite ride.
01:00:17
Speaker
That's so good.
01:00:19
Speaker
Yeah.
01:00:21
Speaker
Otherwise in the park, Coaster Express,
01:00:25
Speaker
Not good, but it's really not bad.
01:00:28
Speaker
It just doesn't do anything.
01:00:31
Speaker
I was like prepared for the worst because it's an RCCA.
01:00:34
Speaker
And then we got up there and I saw it had Intamin trains.
01:00:36
Speaker
And I was like, what is happening?
01:00:38
Speaker
Oh, no.
01:00:38
Speaker
And then we wrote it and I was like, okay, that's a monorail.
01:00:40
Speaker
It doesn't do anything, but it's not bad.
01:00:42
Speaker
It sort of just reminded me of mean streak, just sort of big and swooping with no huge drops and just doesn't do much.
01:00:50
Speaker
Although you like streak, you come to a hill and you're like, Oh, look, no, no, no airtime, no airtime, no laterals, just, and yeah, I think, I think everyone was just sort of expecting pain and it wasn't, it was just boring.
01:01:05
Speaker
It's fine.
01:01:06
Speaker
Yeah.
01:01:07
Speaker
Yeah.
01:01:09
Speaker
They had a good boat ride, a little backwards section on that.
01:01:13
Speaker
Good drop.
01:01:14
Speaker
Yeah, that was fun.
01:01:15
Speaker
Sort of log flume?
01:01:18
Speaker
I would call it a log flume because they also had like a traditional boat ride that was like four across.
01:01:23
Speaker
It was just a two across log flume, kind of.
01:01:26
Speaker
Yeah.
01:01:28
Speaker
What else?
01:01:29
Speaker
Stuntfall was terrible.
01:01:31
Speaker
The giant inverted boomerang.
01:01:32
Speaker
I hated it.
01:01:33
Speaker
I hate those things.
01:01:34
Speaker
It was okay.
01:01:35
Speaker
It's fine.
01:01:36
Speaker
It's not as good as the one at Silverwood.
01:01:39
Speaker
Silverwood's is better.
01:01:40
Speaker
I mean, I haven't ridden that one since it was at Great America.
01:01:43
Speaker
I think it was like 2007 when I got on it.
01:01:47
Speaker
So I didn't remember the sort of ride experience.
01:01:50
Speaker
But yeah, this was just meh.
01:01:55
Speaker
I liked what was their... Was it a mock family coaster?
01:01:59
Speaker
The Wile E. Coyote one?
01:02:01
Speaker
Yeah.
01:02:01
Speaker
That was actually, I think, pretty fun too.
01:02:04
Speaker
Bip, bip.
01:02:05
Speaker
Yeah, Pip Pip.
01:02:06
Speaker
Yeah.
01:02:07
Speaker
Yeah.
01:02:10
Speaker
It's a young star.
01:02:11
Speaker
Yeah, it's a mock young star.
01:02:12
Speaker
And the only other one I've done is the one at Europa Park, which was surprisingly good.
01:02:16
Speaker
And this one was also like really good for what it is.
01:02:19
Speaker
Yeah.
01:02:21
Speaker
Overall, I enjoyed the park, though.
01:02:22
Speaker
It felt like it definitely felt like a Six Flags, but like a good Six Flags with a little bit of additional theming.
01:02:31
Speaker
We did do what we thought was going to be a haunted dark ride.
01:02:36
Speaker
Surprise!
01:02:37
Speaker
It was a madhouse, wasn't it?
01:02:39
Speaker
Yes, it was another madhouse.
01:02:43
Speaker
No way!
01:02:44
Speaker
We did the same thing.
01:02:45
Speaker
We walked past it and we were like, oh, that looks cool.
01:02:48
Speaker
But we at least Googled it first.
01:02:50
Speaker
And we were like, nope, it's a madhouse.
01:02:52
Speaker
Not going in.
01:02:52
Speaker
We just went in.
01:02:54
Speaker
That should have been my spill for the week.
01:02:58
Speaker
It's just all the haunted attractions that looked awesome.
01:03:02
Speaker
And then they turned out to be madhouse.
01:03:04
Speaker
I texted Kelly and I said, did you guys do the haunted dark ride?
01:03:08
Speaker
And she was like, they have a haunted dark ride.
01:03:10
Speaker
And about 10 minutes later, she gets another text.
01:03:12
Speaker
I was like, it's a madhouse.
01:03:14
Speaker
Yeah.
01:03:15
Speaker
How was the theming on it, though?
01:03:17
Speaker
Good thing I missed it.
01:03:18
Speaker
The theming was pretty cool.
01:03:19
Speaker
And again, we don't know what Spanish, so the storyline we couldn't really follow.
01:03:24
Speaker
But I have some details up here.
01:03:26
Speaker
It's called Hotel Embrujado, which is the haunted hotel.
01:03:31
Speaker
It is themed or inspired by Chateau Marmont, the haunted hotel in L.A.,
01:03:39
Speaker
And it runs through the whole story of like an angry bride whose husband left her at the altar on their wedding day in this like hotel, this old hotel and everything.
01:03:50
Speaker
And there was a cool, there was sort of a cool technology they used where there were these two like old busts that were sort of telling the story and the faces were animated.
01:04:01
Speaker
um, through some sort of projection and it did look kind of cool.
01:04:04
Speaker
Um, we couldn't follow what they were saying, but it was, it was a neat little trick.
01:04:09
Speaker
Nice.
01:04:12
Speaker
And then it was a madhouse with not a lot of theming in the actual sort of big room.
01:04:18
Speaker
So what did, what did you think about the Batman clone?
01:04:21
Speaker
We haven't gotten there yet.
01:04:24
Speaker
Pretty good.
01:04:25
Speaker
Um, it seemed to go through it really quick.
01:04:29
Speaker
Um,
01:04:30
Speaker
I think I have it as like my third favorite Batman clone.
01:04:33
Speaker
I thought it was pretty good too.
01:04:34
Speaker
It's smoother than I expected.
01:04:38
Speaker
Um, and it probably has the best theming, honestly, besides the station, the station was kind of bland, but like the queue was really well done.
01:04:45
Speaker
Yeah.
01:04:46
Speaker
The queue was really well done for sure.
01:04:49
Speaker
And then you missed out, uh, Superman, Superman.
01:04:54
Speaker
I think the, the best floor list I've done.
01:04:56
Speaker
Um, yeah,
01:04:58
Speaker
Had some cool, unique elements.
01:05:00
Speaker
I mean, it definitely had a rattle, but I liked the layout a lot.
01:05:04
Speaker
Had some interesting airtime moments that you don't really get on a typical floor list.
01:05:10
Speaker
Yeah, that's why I liked it.
01:05:12
Speaker
The we wrote it in the back first and that drop reminded me of Wildfire at Silver Dollar City, which is like pretty much the best drop that I've been on on like a B&M sit down or floorless.
01:05:25
Speaker
And it was cool to like have actual airtime on a B&M drop on one of those models.
01:05:30
Speaker
And then it had like two more airtime moments on the course.
01:05:34
Speaker
There was like a nice floaty hill and then sort of hyper hill.
01:05:39
Speaker
Yeah.
01:05:40
Speaker
yeah um and i was like well thank god for like throwing in some variety so that's probably why it's my favorite layout it's definitely not smooth um it has a bit of a rattle to it but it didn't bother me that much tyler's gonna say all b&ms are mid and kelly you didn't you didn't look too i remember kelly saying like hating it because it was so rough
01:06:04
Speaker
Yeah, I guess maybe we just had a bad ride.
01:06:07
Speaker
I only rode it once.
01:06:08
Speaker
I thought the layout was unique.
01:06:09
Speaker
I agree with that.
01:06:10
Speaker
But it was just like insufferable pain for me.
01:06:13
Speaker
So I hated it.
01:06:15
Speaker
I wonder if I had bad wheels or something at the time.
01:06:17
Speaker
Because I mean, it was also like a very different time of the year.
01:06:20
Speaker
We were there in December.
01:06:21
Speaker
Like everything was different.
01:06:23
Speaker
They might have swapped the wheels out to nylon or something.
01:06:25
Speaker
And those are not as like those will vibrate the train more.
01:06:29
Speaker
I wonder if that had something to do with it.
01:06:32
Speaker
It was rough.
01:06:32
Speaker
Yeah.
01:06:34
Speaker
I don't know.
01:06:34
Speaker
I liked it.
01:06:35
Speaker
We wrote it twice.
01:06:37
Speaker
Yeah, but like Tyler said, you could definitely tell that it was a Six Flags park, obviously like the Warner Brothers carryover.
01:06:44
Speaker
But it seems to, from a theming aspect, they do things just a little better.
01:06:50
Speaker
I really liked the layout and just the overall feel of the park.
01:06:53
Speaker
It had that kind of cool, sort of like Hollywood Studios type area as well.
01:06:58
Speaker
The one kind of knock I had, and I think this is a Madrid thing more than this park thing,
01:07:04
Speaker
is that all the restaurants close at like four and then reopen at eight, even in the theme park.
01:07:10
Speaker
Siesta.
01:07:11
Speaker
Yeah, it's siesta time.
01:07:13
Speaker
So we were like, let's go find some food.
01:07:16
Speaker
And there really was nothing for us.
01:07:17
Speaker
It was like one chicken food truck that was open.
01:07:22
Speaker
I had no idea that was a thing.
01:07:24
Speaker
Oh, yeah.
01:07:25
Speaker
Siesta is big over there.
01:07:26
Speaker
They like even their restaurants that are quote unquote open all day will shut down for like in between lunch and dinner.
01:07:33
Speaker
So you have to be really careful like and get on Google and make sure that the place you're going to is open.
01:07:37
Speaker
Yeah.
01:07:38
Speaker
Yeah.
01:07:39
Speaker
But we we.
01:07:41
Speaker
Well, actually, I want to back up because I think I just have to mention this, but it was pride in Madrid the week that we were there.
01:07:48
Speaker
Yeah.
01:07:49
Speaker
So Javi and I, like when we, we did the same thing, we stayed in the city for attractions because it's in the city and it makes sense to stay in the city and like be able to see it.
01:07:59
Speaker
So we did a walk around and like, oh my God, there were so many gays.
01:08:03
Speaker
It was hilarious.
01:08:04
Speaker
Just like in the wildest of outfits.
01:08:07
Speaker
And there were like multiple stages all around the city where like different things were happening and it was just the best people watching.
01:08:14
Speaker
It was wild walking.
01:08:15
Speaker
Yeah, at Seoul Station.
01:08:17
Speaker
When we took the train back from Park Warner Madrid, we got off at that station and there was nothing posted, but just all of the exits from the train station were closed.
01:08:29
Speaker
And finally, someone told us, like, you have to go to another station.
01:08:33
Speaker
We had to go to a different station and then come up.
01:08:35
Speaker
And it wasn't until that next morning that we saw the stages set up.
01:08:39
Speaker
And so it was because they were putting that all together.
01:08:42
Speaker
Yeah.
01:08:43
Speaker
I've never seen an entire metro station close before, but I just walked up to the lady after we try every exit and I'm like, habla inglés?
01:08:51
Speaker
And she just kind of rolls her eyes a little bit and pulls out the phone where she already has the English translation typed out for us.
01:08:59
Speaker
She was like, here we go.
01:09:01
Speaker
Here's the tourists.
01:09:02
Speaker
I'm telling you, Tyler was our savior, though.
01:09:06
Speaker
I mean, we were at a restaurant and I had no idea what to order.
01:09:09
Speaker
And our server, she was so sweet.
01:09:11
Speaker
She was trying to find a way to recommend things on the menu.
01:09:16
Speaker
And finally, I was just like, she said one was good.
01:09:19
Speaker
And I was like, I'll take that.
01:09:21
Speaker
That's fine.
01:09:21
Speaker
She'll be sure.
01:09:22
Speaker
And I was like, see...
01:09:23
Speaker
And Tyler was like, do you have any idea what that is?
01:09:26
Speaker
I'm like, nope, it could be anything.
01:09:27
Speaker
And he Googled, he's like, it just says tail.
01:09:29
Speaker
And I'm like, well, it'll be some kind of tail.
01:09:32
Speaker
And it ended up being oxtail and like a wine sauce.
01:09:34
Speaker
It was so good.
01:09:36
Speaker
But I was like, yeah, whatever.
01:09:37
Speaker
We just got off the ground.
01:09:38
Speaker
The language barrier hit me a lot harder than I was expecting.
01:09:42
Speaker
They speak so fast in Spain too.
01:09:45
Speaker
Yeah, they really do.
01:09:46
Speaker
It's almost like a different language.
01:09:47
Speaker
Like if you're used to hearing it in like Latin America, Mexico and...
01:09:52
Speaker
Yeah.
01:09:52
Speaker
I'm so glad I had Javi.
01:09:55
Speaker
Oh yeah, that's good.
01:09:56
Speaker
I didn't even think of him being there as a translator.
01:10:00
Speaker
Like last year we did Barcelona, this year we did Madrid.
01:10:02
Speaker
I'm like, yes, take us to the restaurants.
01:10:05
Speaker
You do all the talking.
01:10:07
Speaker
In Spanish, they use a lot of the TH, which like I remember learning, but like a lot of people sound different.
01:10:14
Speaker
I asked Tavi about it.
01:10:16
Speaker
I was like, how does it feel to like have to speak it or like listen to a different?
01:10:22
Speaker
He's like, it's basically like a regional dialect kind of feel.
01:10:25
Speaker
So it's still very second nature to him to do it.
01:10:31
Speaker
But if it's something like, I think he said like Portuguese is enough different that he actually has to like think about it to process it.
01:10:38
Speaker
They have like similarities and you can like pick up on a couple things, but for the most part, like Latin America, Central America, Spanish to Spain, Spanish.
01:10:47
Speaker
It's probably just like us talking to Canadians.
01:10:49
Speaker
Like, yeah, this is kind of, yeah.
01:10:50
Speaker
They say sorry instead of sorry.
01:10:52
Speaker
We get it though, you know?
01:10:53
Speaker
Yeah.
01:10:53
Speaker
That was his comparison was like, well, it's like you guys going to the UK and they're like, traditional and you know, like,
01:11:01
Speaker
You know what we mean when... It's English.
01:11:03
Speaker
We know what aluminium means, you know?
01:11:05
Speaker
Aluminium.
01:11:06
Speaker
Yeah.
01:11:07
Speaker
That's right.
01:11:08
Speaker
I think it's just the slang, really.
01:11:09
Speaker
The slang is where they'll kind of get you.
01:11:11
Speaker
You'll be like, I don't know what that means.
01:11:12
Speaker
Like, I don't know what you're talking about.
01:11:13
Speaker
Besides that, you can kind of make out, you know, like, see what they're talking.
01:11:17
Speaker
Hear what they're talking about.
01:11:18
Speaker
Yeah.
01:11:19
Speaker
Yeah, so like we we left the park because it was so freaking hot at Warner midday.
01:11:26
Speaker
Like that was our whole plan.
01:11:27
Speaker
We were like, we'll get there at open because it's open from 12 to 12, which is wild.
01:11:33
Speaker
But so we went there and like tried to avoid the peak heat.
01:11:36
Speaker
So we went in the morning.
01:11:37
Speaker
We like we did the crud run.
01:11:38
Speaker
We wrote Batman twice and then we left.
01:11:40
Speaker
Um, and then we went to like a local restaurant and they definitely did not speak any English there.
01:11:44
Speaker
It was just like, so thank God

Night Ride Challenges

01:11:47
Speaker
for Javi.
01:11:47
Speaker
Um, but we had some good food there and then, uh, chilled at the hotel for a little bit.
01:11:51
Speaker
And then we went back for, I want to say the last three and a half hours of the park day to actually try to get night rides.
01:11:57
Speaker
Did you guys get any at night?
01:12:00
Speaker
No, we, uh, we had taken the bus down from El Centro.
01:12:04
Speaker
So, um,
01:12:05
Speaker
It would have been a lot to go back and then get all the way back because that park is kind of in the middle of nowhere.
01:12:11
Speaker
It's in the middle of nowhere.
01:12:12
Speaker
It's way out there.
01:12:13
Speaker
Middle of nowhere.
01:12:14
Speaker
Like we, the first day we did not have a car.
01:12:17
Speaker
We just took a train to the city.
01:12:18
Speaker
We stayed in the city.
01:12:19
Speaker
And the second day we were like, we're just going to rent a car because there's four of us.
01:12:22
Speaker
We can split the cost.
01:12:23
Speaker
Honestly, it was only like 50 bucks, I think.
01:12:25
Speaker
I was going to ask you where you went for your midday break because yeah, that park is just in a desert.
01:12:31
Speaker
Oh yeah, no.
01:12:32
Speaker
If you were trying to like walk out and find somewhere to eat, then there would have been nowhere because it's basically like a desert.
01:12:38
Speaker
Like Superman, when you go up the lift and you look out, it's just like
01:12:41
Speaker
dirt like it's it's nothing it's it's truly in the middle of nowhere and i i remember looking at the public transit options and i was like maybe a car is better because it's just so far out there and it seemed like kind of a pain to get to i think that was you know when we were thinking about trying to like stay for night rides we had sort of pre-looked up you know how often the bus is going to run to get us back into madrid
01:13:05
Speaker
And if you sort of miss one, you got an hour until the next one.
01:13:09
Speaker
And if we stayed till midnight, you kind of only have one shot.
01:13:13
Speaker
And then in the end, I think the sun and the heat just took out more energy than we anticipated anyway.
01:13:19
Speaker
For sure.
01:13:20
Speaker
It was hot.
01:13:22
Speaker
We got some sunset rides.
01:13:24
Speaker
I think our last ride was kind of right at sunset, so it was nice.
01:13:28
Speaker
Yeah, we were ready to get some food and some sleep.
01:13:31
Speaker
Yeah, we were just kind of like, that's a good one to end on.
01:13:34
Speaker
Let's go catch this bus.
01:13:36
Speaker
And then also it's only one bus.
01:13:37
Speaker
And there's actually a lot of people that take the bus.
01:13:40
Speaker
So we were worried about actually getting on getting on it.
01:13:43
Speaker
Yeah.
01:13:44
Speaker
Yeah, no, that's completely understandable.
01:13:45
Speaker
I the only reason we were able to do the night rides is because we had the car.
01:13:50
Speaker
And I'm glad that we did to be able to leave midday because we definitely would not have had the energy to stay for the night rides like we needed to leave the park midday to be able to make that happen.
01:14:00
Speaker
12 hours there would have been like insane.
01:14:03
Speaker
But yeah, when we went back later, we literally just rode Superman once and then we rode Batman for the rest of the night.
01:14:09
Speaker
There are only night rides for this entire trip.
01:14:11
Speaker
That's the crazy thing about Europe in the summer.
01:14:13
Speaker
It's just like you don't it doesn't get dark.
01:14:15
Speaker
Like and I want to say it wasn't until
01:14:19
Speaker
maybe 945 10 when it was like truly night rides.
01:14:24
Speaker
And so we probably got about three or four like in the actual night.
01:14:28
Speaker
And even though the park closes at 12, the rides close at 1130, which we didn't know going in.
01:14:34
Speaker
So luckily, like and this was the worst part about this stupid ride.
01:14:38
Speaker
the pre-show like somehow we ended up in that last batch of people because they closed uh no he went out and he shut the gate like and chained it off to enter the the plaza for batman and then he walked up and closed the doors to the pre-show room and started the last pre-show and we were like oh i guess we're here i guess this is the last ride because we thought we might have been able to go around and get another one in since it was only like 11 25 or whatever but we didn't realize the rides closed 11 30.
01:15:07
Speaker
But yeah, I I mean, that was it's an elite ride.
01:15:10
Speaker
It's really fantastic.
01:15:12
Speaker
The night rides were awesome.
01:15:15
Speaker
I think we wrote it seven times.
01:15:18
Speaker
Super fun.
01:15:19
Speaker
I thought the theming was really well executed, even though the pre show is annoying as hell for re-rides.
01:15:24
Speaker
Especially I hate I hate a pre show that interrupts the flow of the queue because in the outdoor queue, you just have to stand and wait for them to batch you in.
01:15:33
Speaker
And then you wait again, like in the room for the dialogue to end before you keep moving.
01:15:37
Speaker
But after that, it's moves well, I think.
01:15:40
Speaker
And it's cool.
01:15:41
Speaker
Like you go through the bat cave and then like into the subway and the station's all designed like a subway.
01:15:46
Speaker
the trains are super cool looking.
01:15:49
Speaker
While we didn't get night rides, when you see that train coming in and the headlights are lit up, it's dark in there.
01:15:56
Speaker
It's cool to see in that moment and you can tell that's a really cool feature of it during the night rides.
01:16:02
Speaker
Yeah, they still create the atmosphere really well, like in the building with the queue and everything in the station.
01:16:07
Speaker
It's it's super cool.
01:16:09
Speaker
My my my negatives on the ride were kind of like what Kelly alluded to a little bit, which is it's not as the layout is a little bit disjointed to me.
01:16:22
Speaker
It doesn't like make sense sometimes, but then like you'll hit the most amazing element like that airtime hill after the top hat and you like forgive it because it's like it's actually if you get in the back of the train.
01:16:37
Speaker
the trims on that top hat do hit, but then you still get ejected out of your seat going down the top hat.
01:16:42
Speaker
So if you get that and then you get the airtime hill right after it and then you get the stall at the end, which like fully dumps you out of your seat, it's a wild.
01:16:53
Speaker
Those are kind of like the three highlights of the ride to me.
01:16:57
Speaker
And I think because there's such short trains, there's not a huge difference for me between the front and the back.
01:17:04
Speaker
You know, when it comes to those airtime cells, you never feel like the back is getting pulled.
01:17:08
Speaker
It hits all the elements really well.
01:17:10
Speaker
Yeah, it's literally only the top hat that I noticed a difference in the ride, like front or back.
01:17:15
Speaker
It's otherwise everything pretty much hits about the same, which is nice because I don't have to like worry about where you're at.

Intamin Restraints and Ride Experience

01:17:21
Speaker
Um, the one like negative I have is, uh, the, on the trains is this is their new Intamin's new carbon fiber restraints.
01:17:30
Speaker
So they're lighter than the old ones, um, on like Velocicoaster that are fully metal tubes.
01:17:35
Speaker
These are carbon fiber tubes.
01:17:36
Speaker
So they're lighter.
01:17:38
Speaker
And that is like a good thing and a bad thing.
01:17:41
Speaker
The good thing is that, um,
01:17:43
Speaker
they don't come down during the ride.
01:17:46
Speaker
Like they hold themselves up better because they're so light.
01:17:48
Speaker
They don't like press down on you at all.
01:17:51
Speaker
And they also were not stapling at that ride.
01:17:53
Speaker
So like I got some crazy rides.
01:17:56
Speaker
Like sometimes you're like, should this be allowed with like going through the stall, like with space?
01:18:02
Speaker
Cause it's a lot.
01:18:05
Speaker
And the airtime hills with space.
01:18:06
Speaker
But anyway, the lighter restraints were just making it like,
01:18:12
Speaker
loose and kind of rattly and that was like the one kind of weird thing about that ride but everything else I mean it's still elite park Warner yeah good park yeah I definitely want to go there when it's not so hot it sounds like it's brutal in the summer so I don't know if I would want to do that to myself

Linen Maki Park Exclusive Experiences

01:18:30
Speaker
but it sounds like you guys have an awesome time though you're in Florida I wish we could have seen the stunt show
01:18:38
Speaker
Oh yeah, they did have a stunt show that looked cool like on the water, but didn't appear to be running the day we were there.
01:18:49
Speaker
But Joey, you went to a couple more places?
01:18:52
Speaker
Yeah.
01:18:53
Speaker
So like reversing a little bit after Lisa Berg, we had a another Buzzbars add on at Linen Maki and we had 22 people that went to that, which was awesome.
01:19:07
Speaker
Obviously, TDR.
01:19:09
Speaker
Well, really just Tom Mike has been talking up Tyga for quite a while.
01:19:14
Speaker
And so I think a lot of people were interested to go partially because of that.
01:19:19
Speaker
Um, we had a great day there.
01:19:22
Speaker
Um, I would say that the supporting lineup is in no way as strong as at Lisa Berg.
01:19:29
Speaker
Um, you basically just kind of go through a bunch of plus ones and then get to Tyga.
01:19:36
Speaker
And that's pretty much all you want to keep riding.
01:19:40
Speaker
Um, not that anything else is bad.
01:19:42
Speaker
I mean, like the,
01:19:44
Speaker
There was this weird mock tilt or like slidey coaster.
01:19:49
Speaker
Emotion.
01:19:50
Speaker
It's called Emotion Coaster.
01:19:51
Speaker
That thing was not good.
01:19:53
Speaker
But everything else was just like fine.
01:19:56
Speaker
And you have your restorata, which is their break man wooden coaster, which was pretty good.
01:20:04
Speaker
And I think it really depends on like who the break man is, whether or not you get a good ride on that.
01:20:09
Speaker
Um, the park is kind of similar to Lisa Berg and then it's like on a hill and it has some nice views and it's, um, in the city, which is neat.
01:20:19
Speaker
Um, yeah, I mean the highlight of that day, like we went through, we did all the creds, we got some food and then the highlight of the day was, and this was hilarious because they emailed us maybe two or three days before.
01:20:31
Speaker
Hey, do you want to meet us?
01:20:33
Speaker
We had already had last rides of the night scheduled on Tyga.
01:20:36
Speaker
So we were excited for that.
01:20:38
Speaker
Um, and they emailed us, Hey, do you want to come by a little bit earlier to Vera Serrata and have like a behind the scenes tour and an exclusive ride?
01:20:47
Speaker
So we got to do that.
01:20:48
Speaker
We were like, yes, absolutely.
01:20:49
Speaker
We will do that.
01:20:50
Speaker
Um, because they didn't for free.
01:20:52
Speaker
They just offered it.
01:20:53
Speaker
Amazing.
01:20:54
Speaker
Uh, so we met, uh, the break man, his name was Matthias and he brought us backstage.
01:20:59
Speaker
It was honestly like one of the wildest behind the scene tours I've ever done.
01:21:03
Speaker
They, uh,
01:21:05
Speaker
he walked us everywhere.
01:21:06
Speaker
Like we were all over the maintenance bay with the train underneath the train, like getting on top of it.
01:21:14
Speaker
We could have like broken things like that's how close we were.
01:21:18
Speaker
And we were like touching the underside of the train and stuff.
01:21:21
Speaker
We got all kinds of explanations about how it works and the history behind it.
01:21:26
Speaker
Cause it's obviously it's a historically maintained rollercoaster.
01:21:29
Speaker
Like the way that it works is, uh,
01:21:32
Speaker
you know, designed in the old style of a side friction roller coaster, which is super cool.
01:21:38
Speaker
They even walked us down into the switch track tunnel where like it's kind of the transfer track, if you will.
01:21:44
Speaker
And then a train of like fully loaded guests like went right by and we were probably like eight feet away from it.
01:21:50
Speaker
It's like, what is happening?
01:21:52
Speaker
OSHA could never allow this in the US.
01:21:54
Speaker
So that was like the coolest.
01:21:56
Speaker
And then they brought us up and we we filled a train on the restorata for our private ride.
01:22:03
Speaker
And he definitely let the brakes up a little bit for that ride, which was fun.
01:22:07
Speaker
We got some good airtime on some of the hills and that was super fun.
01:22:11
Speaker
Then we went over to Taiga and we met the crew and they walked us in through the exit.
01:22:19
Speaker
And we didn't really know what to expect because this was advertised as last rides of the night.
01:22:24
Speaker
And so we were like, OK, maybe it'll be like one or two trains or whatever.
01:22:28
Speaker
we had enough people at that point that we had, we needed two trains, which luckily they were operating both trains.
01:22:34
Speaker
Um, because earlier in the day they only had one, but they put the second one back on.
01:22:37
Speaker
Thank goodness.
01:22:39
Speaker
Um, so we loaded up the trains and then, you know, we ride it, we come back into the station and the maintenance guy is standing there and, um,
01:22:46
Speaker
We all are like, we don't know because they didn't tell us in advance what was going to happen.
01:22:50
Speaker
And we're just sitting there and we're kind of like slowly getting off and the maintenance guys like more.
01:22:56
Speaker
And we're like, yes, more.
01:22:59
Speaker
We just got right back on and sat down and went out again.
01:23:03
Speaker
And that happened four more times.
01:23:06
Speaker
So we ended up having a mini ERT session of probably like 15 minutes.
01:23:11
Speaker
And to be honest, I think they would have kept going.
01:23:13
Speaker
But like the ops team literally left and it was just the two maintenance guys running the ride at that point.
01:23:19
Speaker
We were kind of like, OK, they did this for free.
01:23:20
Speaker
Like we don't need to keep them all day.
01:23:22
Speaker
So I think both trains got in five rides and then we left.
01:23:26
Speaker
And that was awesome.
01:23:28
Speaker
So shout out to Lynn and Maki for offering like so much to enthusiasts, really just because we went there.
01:23:35
Speaker
They were super awesome, super, super friendly.
01:23:39
Speaker
And it was great.
01:23:41
Speaker
Taiga is one of those rides that kind of grows on you.
01:23:45
Speaker
The first time I rode it, I was like, what is Tom talking about?
01:23:48
Speaker
Like, yeah, it's really fun.
01:23:49
Speaker
But number one, like that's wild.
01:23:53
Speaker
And then the more I rode it, it kind of like builds on you and you start to like get it.
01:23:57
Speaker
And you're like, oh, yeah, this is like really fun.
01:24:00
Speaker
I probably would still say Batman is better just because the highs of Batman are higher.
01:24:06
Speaker
Like that airtime hill is hard to beat.
01:24:07
Speaker
It's just insane.
01:24:10
Speaker
But Taiga is a more like complete and flowing layout, I would say.
01:24:16
Speaker
It's like a better put together.
01:24:19
Speaker
The sequencing of the elements makes more sense kind of.
01:24:24
Speaker
So it's less unhinged, but it feels more complete.
01:24:28
Speaker
And the stall is great.
01:24:30
Speaker
Like the views are great.
01:24:32
Speaker
It's just it's a beautiful ride to the blue track with that.
01:24:35
Speaker
Like Firebird train is really pretty.
01:24:37
Speaker
Definitely need to get out there for sure.
01:24:43
Speaker
Yeah, same.
01:24:43
Speaker
Yeah, I'm excited for the possibility of us as a club going back there at some point based on how much they did for us.
01:24:50
Speaker
Like I, I think they would kind of go all out and maybe even beat Thorpe Park.
01:24:54
Speaker
Who knows?
01:24:55
Speaker
Yeah.
01:24:56
Speaker
So Helsinki flights are never convenient, though, it seems like you really have to get to Europe and then book your flight.

Exploring Themed Parks

01:25:05
Speaker
And the timings are kind of weird, too.
01:25:07
Speaker
Like, I think we landed at like 1045.
01:25:09
Speaker
So the park was already open by the time we got there, which didn't help with the cred run.
01:25:14
Speaker
But it really wasn't like terribly busy on a weekday.
01:25:16
Speaker
So it wasn't it wasn't bad.
01:25:18
Speaker
by any means and I think that was like the perfect bookend for the organized part of the trip with buzz bars just ending out on that ERT it was like so fun and unexpected it would be amazing to get it like a solid hour there like we had it at Hyperia at some point yeah great way to end the trip yeah
01:25:41
Speaker
The only other one that we I did on my trip because we've hit all the rest is after I went there for the first time with Marcus and Craig while Javi was bopping around to two other parks that he hadn't been to before.
01:25:54
Speaker
And we also met Mark.
01:25:57
Speaker
That's kind of his other home park, I guess, for the Netherlands.
01:26:02
Speaker
And he like walked us all around.
01:26:04
Speaker
It was a record temperature day, like super hot.
01:26:08
Speaker
So that was uncomfortable.
01:26:09
Speaker
But
01:26:10
Speaker
We managed to do all the dark rides and all of the coasters.
01:26:16
Speaker
It's a beautiful park.
01:26:17
Speaker
The theming is extremely well done.
01:26:21
Speaker
A lot of for the like the thrill coasters like Baron, for example, it reminded me of if Disney were to theme like a major roller coaster, not that they don't have major roller coasters.
01:26:31
Speaker
They do, but they don't have like a dive coaster.
01:26:34
Speaker
But that's what it reminded me of because there is like storyline and
01:26:37
Speaker
projections and all of these things is very cool.
01:26:40
Speaker
And all of their their attractions kind of have that element to it.
01:26:46
Speaker
It's just a little more.
01:26:47
Speaker
I don't want to say creepy, but like there's kind of whimsical slash weird vibes there, which are fun.
01:26:55
Speaker
And they have a lot of that in the fairy tale forest area when you when you walk around.
01:26:59
Speaker
It's it's interesting.
01:27:01
Speaker
It's definitely the grim fairy tale version in their fairy tale forest area.
01:27:06
Speaker
But none of the coasters there are like, oh my God, you have to go there to ride this coaster.
01:27:11
Speaker
It's really just you go there to experience the park.
01:27:14
Speaker
Like my favorite coaster there was...
01:27:17
Speaker
Probably Joris, which is their GCI, their dueling GCI.
01:27:20
Speaker
I thought that was pretty fun.
01:27:22
Speaker
And their water coaster.
01:27:27
Speaker
I can't say the whole name, but dear Vlieglund Hollander, something like that.
01:27:32
Speaker
That was my 850.
01:27:33
Speaker
And the theming in the dark ride sections of that coaster are really cool.
01:27:36
Speaker
And then the coaster section is actually better than I thought it would be as well for a Kumbach.
01:27:43
Speaker
It's a Kumbach.
01:27:43
Speaker
So that's interesting.

European Trip Reflection

01:27:45
Speaker
Yeah, it was a fun time.
01:27:47
Speaker
Really well theme park would recommend going there.
01:27:49
Speaker
And that's another park very high on my list.
01:27:54
Speaker
Yeah, for sure.
01:27:55
Speaker
I wish that we had had two days there because even though we managed to get like everything done, it felt a little rushed to do it and it would have been more relaxed if we had more time and like to absorb all the dark rides and the coasters and stuff.
01:28:10
Speaker
That's good to know.
01:28:14
Speaker
Yep.
01:28:14
Speaker
Yep.
01:28:15
Speaker
Definitely want to go out there.
01:28:16
Speaker
I mean, I feel like, yeah, I feel like, like you said, like, even though it's not like thrill heavy, like it's just for the experience overall.
01:28:22
Speaker
For sure.
01:28:23
Speaker
Yeah.
01:28:23
Speaker
Yeah.
01:28:23
Speaker
So you really want to take all that in.
01:28:25
Speaker
It's the same thing as like, like Disney, like even though now they have some coasters that a little bit higher thrill, it's not like they have Velocicoaster at Disney.
01:28:33
Speaker
So you wouldn't go there expecting something like that.
01:28:35
Speaker
You just expect like a really well-rounded, well-themed, like whimsical experience there.
01:28:41
Speaker
And that's what they provide, which is awesome.
01:28:44
Speaker
I really enjoyed their, their dark rides.
01:28:46
Speaker
I guess I should throw that in there.
01:28:47
Speaker
Like dense Macabre is really cool, which is their newest one.
01:28:51
Speaker
And they also had very classic style ones.
01:28:54
Speaker
Like they had a pirates type boat ride, dark ride.
01:28:57
Speaker
And then they had one that was kind of like Peter Pan, like suspended vehicles.
01:29:02
Speaker
And I really liked that one.
01:29:03
Speaker
It was super cute.
01:29:09
Speaker
All right.
01:29:09
Speaker
Well, that wraps up.
01:29:11
Speaker
Europe basically right because you guys that was it that was the end

Horror Night Anticipation

01:29:14
Speaker
for you guys.
01:29:14
Speaker
Hallelujah.
01:29:17
Speaker
I know three whole episodes later we made it to the end but while we were gone there were a ton of HHN updates.
01:29:30
Speaker
We had a couple of house reveals and did we get scare zones at that time yet?
01:29:37
Speaker
Not yet, but we have since.
01:29:39
Speaker
We do now.
01:29:40
Speaker
Yeah.
01:29:40
Speaker
Yeah.
01:29:41
Speaker
So what's up with that, Kelly?
01:29:44
Speaker
Yeah.
01:29:44
Speaker
So we talked about the first three originals, but later in that same week, they finished releasing all of them.
01:29:51
Speaker
So that whole week we were gone, we got all of the original houses.
01:29:54
Speaker
So we can start with this grave of flesh.
01:29:59
Speaker
um the description says welcome to your funeral where things are about to go from bad to worse you'll enter your grave and then underworld where flesh eaters who feed on the dead will hunt you for all eternity this is rumored i guess to be located in a sound stage the symbol was that one that kind of changed a bunch where it was like a cityscape and then it was more like graveyard graveyard vibes and it had that like
01:30:25
Speaker
circle and it was kind of confusing and evolved with all the different versions of the spec map.
01:30:30
Speaker
What do you guys think of this original idea?
01:30:37
Speaker
It sounds interesting.
01:30:40
Speaker
I don't know what to expect from it.
01:30:42
Speaker
Yeah.
01:30:43
Speaker
I feel like it sounds a little generic.
01:30:46
Speaker
So I'm interested to see sort of where it goes, but just the description doesn't, it doesn't give us much.
01:30:53
Speaker
Yeah.
01:30:54
Speaker
It's funny because the symbols on the map looked so specific and then this is what we got and it's not quite as story specific as I expected.
01:31:04
Speaker
Yeah.
01:31:05
Speaker
I think it is interesting how they're saying you'll enter your grave.
01:31:08
Speaker
So it's like, it sounds like we're going like into the,
01:31:12
Speaker
ground or like at least that's how I interpret it or like under the graveyard which I think is a unique take on like you know so many of the local haunts will just do like walk through the graveyard and that's like their maze but it'll be interesting to see how they like what their take on this is and I like the obviously our listeners can't see this but the like artwork for it I feel like looks pretty spooky oh yeah that is pretty scary looking so
01:31:41
Speaker
I mean, it could just be really good classic Halloween vibes.
01:31:44
Speaker
Yeah.
01:31:45
Speaker
Yeah.
01:31:49
Speaker
So we'll see.
01:31:51
Speaker
And then to round out the original houses, we have Gulcan, Monsters of the North.
01:31:57
Speaker
And this one says, in a remote northern village, a wicked being rises from the dead, bringing a horde of monsters and demons from the fjords to wreak havoc on the townspeople.
01:32:06
Speaker
You'll face icy horned, winged, and wolfish fiends that gradually merge into one giant horror.
01:32:11
Speaker
Then you will try to escape the belly of the beast.
01:32:15
Speaker
There's a lot happening in this description.
01:32:17
Speaker
Yeah.
01:32:19
Speaker
Yeah.
01:32:20
Speaker
The artwork, it also has, it's got a wolf and then it's got a, like, I don't know, a demon Viking woman.
01:32:28
Speaker
I don't know how you would describe her, but.
01:32:30
Speaker
Yeah.
01:32:31
Speaker
This gives to me, what do you guys think when you see this?
01:32:36
Speaker
What TV show does this remind you of?
01:32:41
Speaker
TV show.
01:32:42
Speaker
Well, it's.
01:32:45
Speaker
Game of Thrones.
01:32:47
Speaker
It looks just like the... Oh, I don't want that.
01:32:49
Speaker
I'm sorry.
01:32:50
Speaker
Oh, White Walkers?
01:32:51
Speaker
It looks like a White Walker and then like a dire wolf.
01:32:54
Speaker
It kind of does.
01:32:55
Speaker
And then it says like literally monsters of the North.
01:32:58
Speaker
I'm like, hmm.
01:33:00
Speaker
And the North is, yeah, where they were.
01:33:02
Speaker
That's funny.
01:33:02
Speaker
Obviously, it's not the most like original, but I think there's something kind of cool about like a haunted Game of Thrones vibe.
01:33:09
Speaker
Totally.
01:33:09
Speaker
I love the Norse like ideas.
01:33:12
Speaker
Right.
01:33:12
Speaker
I'm into.
01:33:13
Speaker
I really like the theme.
01:33:14
Speaker
I'm imagining like a outdoor snowy facade.
01:33:19
Speaker
It better snow.
01:33:19
Speaker
Yeah.
01:33:20
Speaker
Better snow.
01:33:22
Speaker
Better be cold in there.
01:33:23
Speaker
Yeah.
01:33:24
Speaker
I mean, just from the sign alone, it better be snowing.
01:33:26
Speaker
Like it gives off that vibe.
01:33:29
Speaker
Totally.
01:33:31
Speaker
Should be interesting.
01:33:34
Speaker
Other things that have happened on the HHN front last week, the multi-night tickets went on sale.
01:33:40
Speaker
So we've had the single night tickets.
01:33:43
Speaker
We've had some of the add-ons like the RIP tour and the like premier night that they have at the beginning of the season.
01:33:51
Speaker
But now we have all the different levels of fear passes.
01:33:53
Speaker
Yeah.
01:33:56
Speaker
And those, because I sat in the line, the queue line for two hours, while somehow, Rafa, you were in it for 10 minutes.
01:34:04
Speaker
What the heck?
01:34:05
Speaker
Okay, I didn't tell you guys, but I was already in queue, like, from the moment that it started.
01:34:09
Speaker
So maybe it was just...
01:34:11
Speaker
You just got lucky.
01:34:12
Speaker
I got lucky with it.
01:34:13
Speaker
I only had to wait 10 minutes.
01:34:14
Speaker
To be fair, I only remembered this was happening.
01:34:17
Speaker
Like I knew it was dropping at noon and I got in there at like 12.06.
01:34:20
Speaker
So those six minutes really, really messed me up.
01:34:23
Speaker
I went in like at 12.01.
01:34:25
Speaker
So that's probably why.
01:34:26
Speaker
Honestly though, if you weren't buying the frequent fear with Express, I'm pretty sure everything else is still available.
01:34:32
Speaker
The Express sold out.
01:34:34
Speaker
I think it was about 12 minutes.
01:34:35
Speaker
Very fast.
01:34:36
Speaker
Yeah.
01:34:37
Speaker
Before I got in there for sure.
01:34:38
Speaker
Yeah.
01:34:39
Speaker
I just got the, the frequent fear plus, which I'm pretty sure those are still available.
01:34:44
Speaker
So I really didn't need to stress in the first 10 minutes there, but yeah, even though I had 10 minutes, I only had to wait 10 minutes.
01:34:51
Speaker
It still said that it was sold out for those that did end up being sold out.
01:34:55
Speaker
Yeah.
01:34:55
Speaker
So like literally just five minutes basically.
01:34:57
Speaker
Yeah.
01:34:58
Speaker
That's that just tells me they really need to adjust something.
01:35:02
Speaker
I mean, that's,
01:35:03
Speaker
way too cheap of a price if they're selling out in 10 minutes.
01:35:07
Speaker
They need to double, even triple the price.
01:35:10
Speaker
Yeah.
01:35:10
Speaker
And what is the capacity like for it to go that fast?
01:35:13
Speaker
Like that is insane.
01:35:15
Speaker
No, I would imagine they're keeping it low because like it doesn't make sense to sell a lot of express passes with these frequent fears because it's way cheaper than buying every one of those nights.
01:35:25
Speaker
Yeah.
01:35:25
Speaker
And they must obviously they want to make money.
01:35:27
Speaker
So like they want to sell more individual express passes than these ones.
01:35:32
Speaker
I mean, I feel like they kept like a tiny amount just to assuage people that they are available without fully taking it away.
01:35:38
Speaker
You know what I mean?
01:35:39
Speaker
Yeah.
01:35:40
Speaker
I feel like that pass should be like $2,500 though.
01:35:43
Speaker
Honestly.
01:35:44
Speaker
Yeah.
01:35:47
Speaker
As much benefit as you're getting.
01:35:48
Speaker
It's ridiculous.
01:35:49
Speaker
Yeah.
01:35:49
Speaker
It's pretty crazy.
01:35:52
Speaker
And then also exciting news that happened the same day.
01:35:55
Speaker
The most exciting news to me, we have terrifier was announced.
01:36:01
Speaker
Don't call victim to art, the clown in the terrifier haunted house.
01:36:05
Speaker
Um, not very descriptive, but we have later seen multiple creators on multiple HHN creators on Twitter talking about how heinous and gory this house is going to be, which is super exciting.
01:36:19
Speaker
Um, I'm kind of surprised that this got announced before the two remaining house announcement IPs that are still, or one and a half house announcements that are just like out there.
01:36:31
Speaker
Um,
01:36:32
Speaker
But I'm excited.
01:36:32
Speaker
I'm here for it.
01:36:34
Speaker
Yeah.
01:36:34
Speaker
I know you guys agree.
01:36:36
Speaker
I think.
01:36:36
Speaker
Oh, yeah.
01:36:37
Speaker
There was some description that they put out there, like, or one of the creators had maybe talked about specifically the, oh, gosh, what am I thinking?
01:36:47
Speaker
Like the Terrifier maze that's in the second movie.
01:36:49
Speaker
Yes.
01:36:50
Speaker
Yeah.
01:36:50
Speaker
However, subsequent to that, there's been some clarification that it's actually going to feature stuff from all three films, which I think that's better.
01:36:57
Speaker
That's cool.
01:36:57
Speaker
Yeah, there was one description that said something about featuring like art's best kills or whatever.
01:37:02
Speaker
And I'm like, yes, I am here for the vibes of not picking one of the single movies.
01:37:07
Speaker
Like, this is definitely the way to do it.
01:37:10
Speaker
Agreed.
01:37:11
Speaker
Tim, have you seen Terrifier?
01:37:13
Speaker
I have not seen Terrifier 3, but I watched one.
01:37:17
Speaker
I saw two in theaters.
01:37:20
Speaker
It's not my favorite type of horror movie, but they are a lot of fun.
01:37:26
Speaker
And it lends itself to a very good haunted house, especially since they've come out and said, we're not holding back.
01:37:36
Speaker
Yeah, exactly.
01:37:38
Speaker
Well, three is just like two.
01:37:40
Speaker
So just continue.
01:37:41
Speaker
Kelly, have you seen the thing about like there being a dry and a wet option?
01:37:46
Speaker
Sure have.
01:37:47
Speaker
I heard and I saw.
01:37:48
Speaker
Wait, what?
01:37:49
Speaker
Literally, people on Twitter are literally saying, bring your poncho for the last room.
01:37:56
Speaker
Terrifier meets Valkyrie or whatever.
01:37:59
Speaker
It's like, okay.
01:38:00
Speaker
I'm a poncho pants.
01:38:01
Speaker
Yeah.
01:38:03
Speaker
If we're going to have fake blood on us, that's fine with me, but it better not be vomit and it better not be poop because I can't deal with poop.
01:38:12
Speaker
There's poop in Terrifier.
01:38:14
Speaker
Yeah.
01:38:15
Speaker
Yeah.
01:38:16
Speaker
Orlando Universal Orlando is going to poop on you.
01:38:19
Speaker
Yes.
01:38:20
Speaker
You think?
01:38:21
Speaker
I don't know.
01:38:22
Speaker
It smelled like an exorcist.
01:38:25
Speaker
That's what I was just about to say.
01:38:25
Speaker
An exorcist.
01:38:26
Speaker
It smelled like shit in there.
01:38:27
Speaker
It was disgusting.
01:38:28
Speaker
And it was in there.
01:38:29
Speaker
I mean, obviously it's not real.
01:38:31
Speaker
But I do not put it past them to have that be part of... That's a huge scene in the... I don't even remember which movie.
01:38:39
Speaker
Second?
01:38:40
Speaker
First?
01:38:40
Speaker
I don't freaking know.
01:38:43
Speaker
Ugh.
01:38:43
Speaker
I don't know.
01:38:43
Speaker
My mind went straight to... I went straight to thinking about...
01:38:48
Speaker
the third one, the shower scene, that's the one scene that I'm thinking maybe you can get wet in, but like, I don't, I don't know how.
01:38:56
Speaker
Wet could mean anything at HAC.
01:38:58
Speaker
Exactly.
01:38:58
Speaker
It can mean anything.
01:39:00
Speaker
Yeah.
01:39:01
Speaker
We'll find out.
01:39:02
Speaker
Yeah.
01:39:03
Speaker
You'll catch me going on the wet side because I need to know.
01:39:10
Speaker
And then this week, I guess we're not finishing houses.
01:39:13
Speaker
It seems like we're getting a week of the scare zone announcements.
01:39:15
Speaker
We've had two so far.
01:39:17
Speaker
We are recording this on a Tuesday.
01:39:20
Speaker
The first one.
01:39:21
Speaker
Oh, also before we go away, they did fit the little poinsettias in the art, the clown terrifier video.
01:39:28
Speaker
You could see them.
01:39:28
Speaker
They're like lit lit up like lights on the wall in their clearly poinsettias.
01:39:33
Speaker
So yeah,
01:39:33
Speaker
We love to see it integration of the code names into these videos.
01:39:37
Speaker
Okay.
01:39:37
Speaker
Back to what I was saying.
01:39:39
Speaker
The first, the first scare zone is origins, the origins of horror.
01:39:44
Speaker
It says enter a decaying conservatory of twisted vines where artists carve tributes to Halloween horror nights.
01:39:50
Speaker
34.
01:39:50
Speaker
You'll encounter monstrous crows, gargoyles, and more.
01:39:58
Speaker
This feels like an entrance scare zone.
01:40:00
Speaker
And I, unless we get clarification otherwise, I feel like it is because they talked at that spooky panel about how the theme of this event is like the conservatory.
01:40:12
Speaker
So that's what I guess.
01:40:14
Speaker
That's what it sounds like, yeah.
01:40:15
Speaker
Yeah, I think so.
01:40:16
Speaker
Hopefully it'll be a real scare zone.
01:40:19
Speaker
That's my concern.
01:40:20
Speaker
Welcome kind of thing.
01:40:22
Speaker
Yeah.
01:40:22
Speaker
Because last year there was no props really.
01:40:27
Speaker
It was just characters and like the, the HHN sign.
01:40:31
Speaker
Yes.
01:40:31
Speaker
So I hope, I mean, given the description, they better do more than just that because it's like, you know, it sounds cool if they actually execute it.
01:40:39
Speaker
Mm hmm.
01:40:40
Speaker
Agreed.
01:40:42
Speaker
Yeah, and the artwork is, I mean, it's basic, but it's very, like, gothic stained glass, like, kind of the vibes of what we were getting from some of the, like, early merch that came out.
01:40:52
Speaker
So hopefully, we love when the theme is tied in multiple places.
01:40:57
Speaker
So hopefully they execute it well.
01:41:00
Speaker
And then today we got another one.
01:41:03
Speaker
Masquerade Dance with Death.
01:41:05
Speaker
You're invited to a masquerade ball where bloodthirsty vampires lurk behind ornate disguises.
01:41:10
Speaker
When their masks fall, you'll become their prey.
01:41:16
Speaker
That one doesn't excite me a ton.
01:41:18
Speaker
It kind of sounds like the one that they normally do in front of mummy where it's more just the vibes.
01:41:25
Speaker
There's not too many scares because it's just so open.
01:41:28
Speaker
Yeah.
01:41:29
Speaker
Just a bunch of people walking around looking crazy.
01:41:30
Speaker
That's about it.
01:41:32
Speaker
I feel like that's how a vamp, I mean, maybe this isn't technically a vamp scare zone, but there's obviously it's vampire based.
01:41:37
Speaker
So I feel like all of those kind of run together and are similar.
01:41:41
Speaker
Like I'm guessing that these, I picture these people walking around with masks will not look that much different than a guest.
01:41:48
Speaker
That's kind of how they did like the vamp 69.
01:41:50
Speaker
Like they just had like,
01:41:54
Speaker
60s clothes on, but in the dark, you couldn't really tell the difference until they were like right up next to you, which I think is a good method of a scare.
01:42:00
Speaker
I hope it comes across that way.
01:42:04
Speaker
Kind of.
01:42:04
Speaker
I think that's really the only way to like have it be scary is when they use that technique.
01:42:11
Speaker
But I was just excited because dance was in the title.
01:42:15
Speaker
But the more I read the description, I was like, yeah, this kind of sounds like generic.
01:42:21
Speaker
I don't know.
01:42:22
Speaker
Hmm.
01:42:25
Speaker
Yeah.
01:42:26
Speaker
I guess we'll find out and we'll probably have the rest to talk about on our next episode.
01:42:32
Speaker
Yeah.
01:42:33
Speaker
It's kind of hard to get excited for the scare zones.
01:42:36
Speaker
I don't know.
01:42:36
Speaker
I feel like universal hasn't really been going too hard on the scare zones.
01:42:42
Speaker
It's always been the weakest part of the event.
01:42:45
Speaker
Yeah.
01:42:45
Speaker
And I feel like it's kind of hard to get excited for any of them until we actually see them in motion.
01:42:52
Speaker
So there really isn't like much to say, but I mean, the themes sound unique and they sound fun.
01:42:57
Speaker
So I hope, I hope they pull it off.
01:43:00
Speaker
Yeah.
01:43:02
Speaker
Yeah.
01:43:02
Speaker
That one, I think you guys talked about it last week, the house that, uh,
01:43:08
Speaker
It's like the art that comes to life.
01:43:10
Speaker
Yeah.
01:43:11
Speaker
That one interested me the most.
01:43:12
Speaker
I don't know if you've seen the movie Velvet Buzzsaw, but it reminds me of that.
01:43:18
Speaker
It's a good horror movie on Netflix that you guys should watch with Jake Gyllenhaal.
01:43:22
Speaker
But it's about like an artist who dies and he paints using his own blood and his art starts to come to

Imagining Haunts at UK Parks

01:43:27
Speaker
life.
01:43:27
Speaker
And it's cool.
01:43:28
Speaker
It's a very cool concept that I think Halloween Horror Nights can sort of improve upon even.
01:43:34
Speaker
Cool.
01:43:35
Speaker
Yeah.
01:43:36
Speaker
Yeah, I'm really excited for that house too.
01:43:40
Speaker
That's probably the original I'm most interested in.
01:43:42
Speaker
Yeah.
01:43:43
Speaker
I think that one caught everybody's eye like right off the bat.
01:43:48
Speaker
But, but all right, but moving on to questions.
01:43:51
Speaker
We do have a couple of questions for this week.
01:43:53
Speaker
So starting off, we have C pred.
01:43:57
Speaker
He asks, given the UK parks you visited in the summer, if you were to imagine having haunts at some of the parks or areas, what would be some attractions you, you could see them having or which ones would you like to see?
01:44:11
Speaker
I would love to see them expand on the hex story.
01:44:15
Speaker
That could make a cool house.
01:44:18
Speaker
Yeah.
01:44:20
Speaker
I think Altland would just, it's, it's massive.
01:44:22
Speaker
I feel like there's so much you could do with the space there.
01:44:24
Speaker
Just put them down in the garden.
01:44:26
Speaker
Yeah.
01:44:27
Speaker
Yeah.
01:44:27
Speaker
I probably can't, but that would be cool.
01:44:30
Speaker
It's basically.
01:44:30
Speaker
I think it would be cool for any park to utilize the theme, especially in the UK, because they have a lot of spooky themed rides to utilize the theme of their ride in a scare zone surrounding it.
01:44:40
Speaker
Hmm.
01:44:41
Speaker
And everything in Elton Towers caters itself to that.
01:44:44
Speaker
With the exceptional Spinball Wizard, which doesn't fit in that way.
01:44:48
Speaker
Like a Wicker Man scare zone or house could go hard.
01:44:52
Speaker
Yes.
01:44:53
Speaker
Anything there, really.
01:44:54
Speaker
Yeah, this is true.
01:44:55
Speaker
Smiler would be annoying as hell, but it would be a scare zone.
01:45:01
Speaker
Yeah, Smiler would be like an asylum.
01:45:02
Speaker
Yes, it would be sick.
01:45:05
Speaker
I was just thinking, imagine going up on that sky ride and just looking out and just seeing all of the fog.
01:45:11
Speaker
from up there that would probably look really sick yeah that would be really really sick but yeah definitely on towers can do so much with that park when it comes to haunt season for sure but okay so then show is asking um what spooky attraction from the uk would you move to the us and where would you put it
01:45:35
Speaker
I would move the house that we did outside of Blackpool, move that to like Wildwood or somewhere on the Jersey Shore boardwalk parks.
01:45:47
Speaker
Okay.
01:45:48
Speaker
Is that technically Blackpool though?
01:45:50
Speaker
That haunt?
01:45:51
Speaker
It's in Blackpool.
01:45:53
Speaker
The city or the town of Blackpool.
01:45:54
Speaker
Right outside of the exit.
01:45:56
Speaker
Pleasure Beach Park.
01:45:57
Speaker
He just said from the UK, not a park.
01:45:59
Speaker
So that counts.
01:46:00
Speaker
Oh, that's true.
01:46:00
Speaker
I'll allow it.
01:46:02
Speaker
I'm telling you what I wouldn't bring is all the madhouses.
01:46:05
Speaker
Right.
01:46:05
Speaker
Right.
01:46:06
Speaker
they can keep all of them i was trying to think of a park kelly would bring the curse of all curse of all manner yeah like where would we put it though i don't know see that's like specific to the park but i would love to see more style like more ghost trains or dark rides like that in the u.s i feel like we don't really have them yeah honestly it could kind of fit in the um the dorney steel area
01:46:34
Speaker
Yeah, that's a little bit of ghost vibes to it.
01:46:38
Speaker
Yeah, we don't have a lot of that in the US.
01:46:40
Speaker
So I'm like trying to come up with other places.
01:46:43
Speaker
But now that now that Great America is, you know, developing this little mini demon area with the wrath of Rakshasa and demon right next to each other.
01:46:52
Speaker
I would love to see like a haunted dark ride of a demon thing.
01:46:57
Speaker
Yes.
01:46:57
Speaker
Somehow bridging that more.
01:46:59
Speaker
I think they could have a lot of fun with that if they wanted to.
01:47:05
Speaker
We need a dark ride in epic universe.
01:47:10
Speaker
Yes.
01:47:11
Speaker
In dark universe.
01:47:12
Speaker
I was like, of what?
01:47:15
Speaker
I was like waiting.
01:47:17
Speaker
We need anything there.

Favorite Mock Rides Discussion

01:47:21
Speaker
I know a lot of people are talking about a boat ride, but even just a dark ride, the curse style ride would be sick.
01:47:29
Speaker
I'd be happy with it.
01:47:31
Speaker
Definitely.
01:47:31
Speaker
Definitely something on the tamer side too.
01:47:33
Speaker
I feel like
01:47:34
Speaker
monsters is a little bit much for the younger kids um at least just like the ride itself but yeah whatever we're just going into epic now basically but um okay so bradley would like to know what mock is at the top of everyone's bucket list it's dc rivals for me i agree specifically dc rivals backwards for me
01:48:01
Speaker
don't know if I could do it but I would maybe try yeah I hate backwards too though but I would definitely do it either that or beyond the cloud because that looks really good too unfortunately I'm still going to have to say Stardust Racers
01:48:16
Speaker
I think for me, Ride to Happiness.
01:48:22
Speaker
I was just about to say that.
01:48:25
Speaker
I have some friends that just left today for Tomorrowland, which is about to start, and they're going to that park to ride.
01:48:34
Speaker
They're not even enthusiasts, but they're going to that park to ride it before the fest.
01:48:38
Speaker
That's cool.
01:48:40
Speaker
It's got such a cool theme.
01:48:42
Speaker
Tim, did you endo?
01:48:44
Speaker
A did you Enzo?
01:48:45
Speaker
Yeah, after writing that, I'm like, I need Ride to Happiness.
01:48:49
Speaker
Yeah, that was exactly what I wanted.
01:48:50
Speaker
Because that's my real answer about my mock hype list.
01:48:54
Speaker
It's the one that they haven't built yet at Plopsaland Deutschland, which is like probably 2020.
01:48:59
Speaker
Or the new one that they just started hyping up at Europa Park.
01:49:03
Speaker
Well, I don't know what's going on there.
01:49:05
Speaker
Like that was unclear whether it's actually going to be an extreme spinner or if it's just a train.
01:49:11
Speaker
I don't know.
01:49:11
Speaker
Really random.
01:49:15
Speaker
All right.
01:49:15
Speaker
And then on the mock topic, Dex would like to know if mock is now the best manufacturer.
01:49:21
Speaker
Okay.
01:49:25
Speaker
I don't think so.
01:49:27
Speaker
I don't know.
01:49:28
Speaker
They need to, I mean, I think they definitely need to fix some things like every manufacturer does.
01:49:33
Speaker
Um,
01:49:34
Speaker
I don't know.
01:49:35
Speaker
I don't know who I would call the best manufacturer, to be honest.
01:49:38
Speaker
I feel like Nuva Coma has the smoothest coasters, and that's something that I really appreciate.
01:49:44
Speaker
So I think their potential in our neck of the woods is still very much untapped.
01:49:51
Speaker
I don't know.
01:49:55
Speaker
I love Mach, obviously.
01:49:57
Speaker
A lot of their courses are in my top 20, but I think I'm the best.
01:50:01
Speaker
I think it's no longer clear.
01:50:02
Speaker
One of the Mach that's better than any other manufacturer right now is their rides come off as more than just a roller coaster.

Best Coaster Manufacturers Debate

01:50:12
Speaker
It has this level of being a spectacle.
01:50:15
Speaker
When you walk into the station, everything feels so state-of-the-art.
01:50:20
Speaker
um whether it's time travel or hyperia like even icon like the stations feel very modern and high tech the trains feel like a like just completely state-of-the-art like nothing else that's going around like everything just feels really big yeah and i think they're doing that better than anyone else yeah i feel that with stardust a lot
01:50:44
Speaker
I do love a mock train.
01:50:48
Speaker
There are various trains and all of their restraint systems are always comfortable for me personally.
01:50:55
Speaker
They're definitely, it feels like they're starting to maybe gain an edge.
01:51:00
Speaker
Like you said, they still have some issues to resolve, but I think it's also because some of their newer models are like gaining traction.
01:51:08
Speaker
Whereas for Intamin, we're kind of in the middle of their like golden era of these blitz coasters and they've been installing them like so many places that it's not like they're not amazing rides, but they're starting to lose a little bit of the luster of newness of the model and
01:51:24
Speaker
So it's like, what's Intamin doing next?
01:51:26
Speaker
Meanwhile, Mach has this extreme spinner and there's only like two of them.
01:51:30
Speaker
So it's very like exclusive still.
01:51:32
Speaker
And then Voltron is the only one in the world that's like it right now.
01:51:36
Speaker
So, well, there is another striker, but it's small.
01:51:38
Speaker
So I don't know if that counts.
01:51:39
Speaker
They've changed that to not, it's now a big dipper.
01:51:42
Speaker
It's not a striker.
01:51:43
Speaker
They're not calling it anything.
01:51:44
Speaker
Is it the one in Portugal or the one in Austria?
01:51:48
Speaker
The one in Austria.
01:51:49
Speaker
Okay.
01:51:50
Speaker
Yeah, I mean, it's a Big Dipper sized coaster.
01:51:52
Speaker
I think the thing was it has a striker train, but it's not designed as a... Makes more sense as a Big Dipper.
01:51:58
Speaker
Yeah, yeah.
01:52:02
Speaker
All right.
01:52:02
Speaker
And then Tom would like to know which house will he scream in the most?

HHN in Chicago Speculation

01:52:11
Speaker
Wherever the most jump scares are.
01:52:13
Speaker
Yeah, like that one year it was Exorcist.
01:52:17
Speaker
I feel like it might be Terrifier just because it's going to be disgusting in there.
01:52:22
Speaker
I'm just wondering if Terrifier is going to have jump scares or if it's going to be more like graphic gore scenes.
01:52:27
Speaker
You know what I mean?
01:52:27
Speaker
Yeah, that's what's going to make the difference.
01:52:29
Speaker
I mean, if there really is like a wet version of this, I mean, maybe just like the effects of the water hitting you will be enough to get a good jump out of you.
01:52:37
Speaker
I could be.
01:52:38
Speaker
I can see it being the artist one because I bet they're going to have like different pieces of art and you're never going to know which one's going to come to life.
01:52:45
Speaker
And then, I mean, if they do something like a museum, then that's what I was going to say.
01:52:49
Speaker
That got him pretty good last year with the guy on the desk.
01:52:54
Speaker
Yes.
01:52:54
Speaker
That guy.
01:52:55
Speaker
So, you know what?
01:52:56
Speaker
That's a good answer.
01:52:56
Speaker
I think I'd go with that.
01:52:57
Speaker
Actually the artist one for sure.
01:53:02
Speaker
And then some random guy named Tim is asking a question here too.
01:53:07
Speaker
He wants to know, already knowing what the Vegas HHN is going to include, what unique IPs would you like to see in the Chicago location?
01:53:16
Speaker
Can they have a jardiniere maze?
01:53:23
Speaker
What if it's just like all Chicago food?
01:53:25
Speaker
That's a good accent.
01:53:26
Speaker
The deep dish monster.
01:53:27
Speaker
The Malort monster.
01:53:29
Speaker
It's just a whole bunch of Tims following you around with a bottle of Malort.
01:53:35
Speaker
Literally terrifying.
01:53:37
Speaker
Malort is the IP.
01:53:40
Speaker
I guess it's a good segue though.
01:53:41
Speaker
Have you guys talked about the announcement of the Chicago...
01:53:46
Speaker
No, we didn't.
01:53:47
Speaker
No, we have not.
01:53:48
Speaker
We didn't bring it up.
01:53:49
Speaker
I think,

Ideal Cities for HHN Expansion

01:53:50
Speaker
when did we learn about that?
01:53:50
Speaker
Was that at Thorpe?
01:53:52
Speaker
Yeah, during the Q&A.
01:53:54
Speaker
Everyone was like passing it around.
01:53:56
Speaker
So I think my personal favorite aspect of this announcement is I would have put any amount of money on this being somewhere in the suburbs.
01:54:06
Speaker
You have a lot more space to play with.
01:54:09
Speaker
So, you know, selfishly living in the city, I was like, yeah, it's going to be kind of far away.
01:54:15
Speaker
It's going to be about a 15 to 20 minute walk from my, from my home.
01:54:19
Speaker
That's cool.
01:54:20
Speaker
That's awesome.
01:54:21
Speaker
And I'm not, and I think it's scheduled to open in 2027.
01:54:25
Speaker
I will still be living in this neighborhood in two years and I'm very excited now.
01:54:30
Speaker
Yeah.
01:54:31
Speaker
We're going to invite ourselves.
01:54:33
Speaker
Yes, 100%.
01:54:37
Speaker
Yes, but no, but on a serious note, when it comes to IPs, I feel like last year Insidious was so popular that I can really see them bringing that over.
01:54:47
Speaker
Yeah, I think they would go with that.
01:54:50
Speaker
I have to selfishly say, like from the original side of saying Dead Man's Pier, like I just, that's my favorite house that I've been in.
01:54:59
Speaker
Like just from a visual standpoint, I would love if they would.
01:55:02
Speaker
And I feel like a lot of people loved it.
01:55:03
Speaker
So I feel like that'd be great if they could bring that in.
01:55:07
Speaker
For sure.
01:55:08
Speaker
Yeah.
01:55:09
Speaker
But I agree.
01:55:10
Speaker
Insidious would be awesome too.
01:55:12
Speaker
Yeah, I can see them going with that.
01:55:13
Speaker
And it would be such a people eater too.
01:55:14
Speaker
Like everybody would be running to that.
01:55:17
Speaker
Anything Blumhouse, I think, would be a big crowd pleaser.
01:55:20
Speaker
So what Vegas is Exorcist, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Universal Monsters, and Scarecrow.
01:55:28
Speaker
Yeah.
01:55:30
Speaker
I feel like it'll have a Universal Monsters.
01:55:33
Speaker
Agree.
01:55:33
Speaker
Yeah.
01:55:35
Speaker
Just a different take on it.
01:55:36
Speaker
I'm a sucker for that.
01:55:36
Speaker
I love the old school Universal Monsters.
01:55:40
Speaker
Yeah.
01:55:40
Speaker
And it's easy for them because they own it.
01:55:42
Speaker
Yeah.
01:55:43
Speaker
And they were always very solid houses.
01:55:45
Speaker
I feel like last year people didn't love it as much, but it was still a pretty good house.
01:55:49
Speaker
I liked it.
01:55:50
Speaker
Definitely enjoyed that.
01:55:56
Speaker
What else do we have here?
01:55:59
Speaker
Ethan would like to know, now that ZDTs is closing, which park do you think Switchback should be relocated to if it does get sold?
01:56:08
Speaker
Gene Staples, now's your time.
01:56:13
Speaker
I don't think it will.
01:56:14
Speaker
It doesn't work at Indiana Beach.
01:56:16
Speaker
It doesn't work at Kentucky Kingdom.
01:56:21
Speaker
I think it should go to another family park like Idlewild, Dutch Wonderland.
01:56:25
Speaker
You know who could use Woody?
01:56:29
Speaker
I mean, they would have to do some magic with some theming, but Lost Island.
01:56:35
Speaker
Yeah, not bad.
01:56:37
Speaker
That could work.
01:56:39
Speaker
And they don't have enough people going there to need a not shuttle coaster.
01:56:43
Speaker
So that works.
01:56:45
Speaker
True.
01:56:47
Speaker
Yeah.
01:56:50
Speaker
I don't like that coaster.
01:56:52
Speaker
Really?
01:56:53
Speaker
No.
01:56:54
Speaker
I never got a chance to do it.
01:56:55
Speaker
Yeah, same.
01:56:56
Speaker
I never got to ride it.
01:56:57
Speaker
It is cool because it's very unique.
01:56:59
Speaker
The drop is very good, like very steep gravity group, classic drop.
01:57:03
Speaker
But like the backwards is so heinous.
01:57:07
Speaker
Like it is so rough.
01:57:08
Speaker
You can't brace for it.
01:57:09
Speaker
You don't know what's going to happen.
01:57:11
Speaker
So like aside from me not looking backwards, it just is like very uncomfortable.
01:57:18
Speaker
It definitely is a little rough.
01:57:19
Speaker
Yeah.
01:57:20
Speaker
They would probably want to do a bit of an overhaul if they move it.
01:57:23
Speaker
I don't think that's very likely.
01:57:24
Speaker
I'm sure like Tom has said like when he first wrote it, he really liked it and he's been there three separate occasions and it's just gotten progressively worse as one can imagine with like maintenance and stuff.
01:57:36
Speaker
I mean, I wrote it last year.
01:57:37
Speaker
So the spike on that looks better than Gotham, Gotham city escape.
01:57:42
Speaker
It is.
01:57:42
Speaker
But then the rest of what's to come is just miserable for me.
01:57:47
Speaker
Yeah.
01:57:50
Speaker
All right.
01:57:51
Speaker
And then last question.
01:57:52
Speaker
C pred asks, given the announcement of the Chicago year round hunt, what would be some cool themes to feature for the location and outside of Vegas, what other cities would be good to have locations as well?
01:58:05
Speaker
And what themes or experiences would you like to see there?
01:58:08
Speaker
We kind of answered the first part

Unique HHN Themes and Experiences

01:58:10
Speaker
of that.
01:58:10
Speaker
Yeah.
01:58:10
Speaker
The first part we answered it location wise though.
01:58:13
Speaker
I mean, seeing that they went with Vegas and they went with Chicago, um,
01:58:16
Speaker
Philadelphia.
01:58:18
Speaker
Speaking of Philly, did you see that they're going to have like a whole exhibit?
01:58:23
Speaker
Universal announced.
01:58:25
Speaker
Oh yeah.
01:58:25
Speaker
They're going to have an exhibit in the, in a museum.
01:58:28
Speaker
I didn't, which museum was it?
01:58:31
Speaker
No, I did not hear anything about it.
01:58:33
Speaker
I just saw it.
01:58:35
Speaker
But yeah, apparently they're going to have an exhibit, which is like, I guess of like the history of the parks of like the universal parks.
01:58:42
Speaker
which I think is interesting institute there we go yeah yeah Disney just did their whole thing there so I'm not surprised oh really I didn't know yeah they had that there for like a year it was like the Disney like anniversary like showcase stuff it was a lot about like Walton the history of Disney I went to it it was pretty cool nice
01:59:04
Speaker
It sounds like this is going to have like their full history, but also including some of the epic universe development stuff.
01:59:10
Speaker
So it could be pretty cool.
01:59:12
Speaker
I will attend.
01:59:13
Speaker
Yeah.
01:59:14
Speaker
There was also, I saw in one of the pictures that they put like in one of the little exhibits that they were showing off, they had like pictures of like HHN.
01:59:21
Speaker
So I'm wondering if they're going to like, I'm sure that they're going to like have some hints there about the like for Chicago and for Vegas and
01:59:30
Speaker
Oh.
01:59:31
Speaker
Yeah.
01:59:31
Speaker
And also we do have the kids park that's supposed to be opening there eventually whenever that's supposed to open.
01:59:35
Speaker
So I'm sure they're going to show off some of that as well.
01:59:39
Speaker
In terms of where I'd like to see it.
01:59:43
Speaker
I mean, I don't know.
01:59:44
Speaker
I think it'd work well in any big city.
01:59:45
Speaker
I think Vegas is a perfect destination for it, but I don't want to see it just oversaturated where they have something like that.
01:59:54
Speaker
And, you know, most major cities across the country.
01:59:57
Speaker
Yeah.
01:59:57
Speaker
I agree.
01:59:58
Speaker
They need to keep it, like maybe do one more in, you know, New York or Seattle or, you know, some sort of other big city.
02:00:05
Speaker
That's kind of the last place I see one is like the northern side of the East Coast.
02:00:10
Speaker
Like Philly honestly wouldn't be a bad option, but I feel like it would be more like New York City, Metro, a little bit closer to that potentially.
02:00:16
Speaker
Probably be Charleston.
02:00:17
Speaker
Or Boston even.
02:00:19
Speaker
Yeah, I think it would be.
02:00:20
Speaker
I totally agree with that, though.
02:00:21
Speaker
It becomes not special.
02:00:22
Speaker
Yeah.
02:00:23
Speaker
And then I feel like that actually would maybe hurt their success because it's like, oh, there's just another one of these.
02:00:28
Speaker
Like, I don't need to go to that.
02:00:30
Speaker
I don't need to go to Orlando.
02:00:31
Speaker
I'll just go to New York City.
02:00:34
Speaker
Maybe in the UK, now that the park is going to be opening over there.
02:00:36
Speaker
Yeah.
02:00:37
Speaker
Well, it sounds like UK is going to have HHN at their new park.
02:00:41
Speaker
So that's pretty cool.
02:00:41
Speaker
I don't know if the geography works because it's not too far from Florida, but I think New Orleans could be a cool place.
02:00:50
Speaker
Oh, that would be cool.
02:00:50
Speaker
They could do some really cool local legend type stuff.
02:00:54
Speaker
Yeah.
02:00:57
Speaker
That would be really cool.
02:00:58
Speaker
They do like to use that like new Orleans vibe and theme a lot.
02:01:03
Speaker
Yeah.
02:01:05
Speaker
Bayou type stuff.
02:01:09
Speaker
All right.
02:01:09
Speaker
And any final thoughts before we say goodbye after how long, what?
02:01:13
Speaker
Three hours.
02:01:14
Speaker
This was almost, it feels like it was almost three hours.
02:01:17
Speaker
Not quite that long, but it was over two.
02:01:21
Speaker
It's pretty long, but.
02:01:22
Speaker
Fear not, everyone.
02:01:24
Speaker
And we will attempt, and we're going to talk briefly after this, to make our following episodes not so long.
02:01:30
Speaker
This was just a lot for us to cover.
02:01:32
Speaker
A lot.
02:01:34
Speaker
Yeah.
02:01:35
Speaker
Yeah.
02:01:35
Speaker
But once again, thank you so much for joining us, Tim.
02:01:38
Speaker
It was fun having you here chatting.
02:01:40
Speaker
Yeah.
02:01:41
Speaker
Thanks, Tim.
02:01:43
Speaker
Thanks, Tim.
02:01:44
Speaker
Yes, thank you.
02:01:45
Speaker
And of course, make sure to follow us on Instagram at thrillschillsandspills and also on Twitter, t underscore c underscore s pod.
02:01:58
