Introduction to 'Thrills, Chills, and Spills'

00:00:01
Speaker
What's up, everybody?
00:00:01
Speaker
Welcome to Thrills, Chills, and Spills, where we spill the tea on all things theme parks, special events, and especially spooky season.
00:00:10
Speaker
I'm Tyler.
00:00:12
Speaker
I'm Joey.
00:00:13
Speaker
And I'm Rafa.
00:00:15
Speaker
I have a new name, if you didn't notice.
00:00:18
Speaker
Yes, this is our new name, so hopefully you guys like it.
00:00:22
Speaker
So we're going to start with a spill.
00:00:26
Speaker
So that's just going to be like some sort of tea that we have for each week.

Kings Dominion's Winterfest Cancellation Controversy

00:00:30
Speaker
So mine just came out today.
00:00:33
Speaker
Kind of pisses me off.
00:00:35
Speaker
It's Kings Dominion canceling Winterfest.
00:00:38
Speaker
So what they did was they sold all the season pass renewals from last year saying that it's good until the end of Winterfest at the end of December, January, whatever.
00:00:49
Speaker
Then after the merger and everything,
00:00:52
Speaker
They just decided to cancel it with no explanation except for they're going to focus on the winner's stuff.
00:01:00
Speaker
And I did see some correspondence from the park.
00:01:03
Speaker
Apparently they told somebody that they are going to add one bring a friend ticket and one like 50% off merchandise coupon.

Cost-Cutting Post-Merger and Competition with Busch Williamsburg

00:01:11
Speaker
So does that make it worth it?
00:01:14
Speaker
I'm going to say a big hell no.
00:01:17
Speaker
But anyway, I'm
00:01:19
Speaker
That's my spell for the week.
00:01:20
Speaker
Yeah.
00:01:21
Speaker
I think it's interesting because we're seeing now parks that are in the sixth chain start to do this slowly.
00:01:28
Speaker
We saw it with CGA earlier in the season.
00:01:30
Speaker
I'm just surprised that it's affecting King's Dominion, to be honest, because I kind of have always thought that that was one of their like upper tier parks that they focus a lot of effort on.
00:01:42
Speaker
So it's interesting.
00:01:45
Speaker
I feel like with the merger, they're really just looking to cut costs everywhere, and it must not have had a very high profit margin.
00:01:52
Speaker
I wonder if it's because in that area, like Christmastown at Bush Williamsburg is so much more established, because I think it's been around for much longer, right?
00:02:02
Speaker
It could be.
00:02:03
Speaker
It's a bummer, though.
00:02:03
Speaker
It's a really nice event.
00:02:04
Speaker
I mean, I enjoyed it the one time I went.
00:02:06
Speaker
I really enjoyed it.
00:02:08
Speaker
Yeah, and I think part of it, what people were saying is...
00:02:12
Speaker
It got fairly busy, but it was almost all season pass holders who also had meal plans.
00:02:18
Speaker
So you had the numbers in the park, but they really weren't making too much money.
00:02:24
Speaker
Not many people were buying day tickets and stuff, which is surprising because I think a ticket for the day was like $20, $25.
00:02:30
Speaker
It was really reasonable if you just wanted to go and look at the lights.
00:02:34
Speaker
So I don't know.
00:02:35
Speaker
That was just very disappointing news to have today as a Kings Dominion local.
00:02:41
Speaker
Yeah, I was looking forward to potentially a winter event coming to Dorney because I know that they were like thinking about that.
00:02:46
Speaker
But if they're going to be cutting winter events that already exist, I doubt that they're going to be adding additional winter events to other parks.
00:02:53
Speaker
Especially for the north.
00:02:55
Speaker
Yeah.
00:02:56
Speaker
All right.
00:02:59
Speaker
Okay.

Busch Gardens Tampa Mardi Gras Event Overview

00:03:00
Speaker
So this past weekend, we were all at a Buzzbars event at Busch Gardens Tampa.
00:03:06
Speaker
So Busch Gardens Tampa right now, they're doing their Mardi Gras event.
00:03:10
Speaker
So we all got to partake a little bit in that, some more than others.
00:03:14
Speaker
But Joey, if you want to start off a little bit.
00:03:20
Speaker
Sure.
00:03:22
Speaker
It was interesting.
00:03:23
Speaker
It was pretty much dominated the area right outside Iron Gwazi or between Iron Gwazi and the Sesame Street area, which I don't know the official name of, to be honest.
00:03:36
Speaker
It was up until the flamingos.
00:03:38
Speaker
Exactly.
00:03:39
Speaker
Up until the Flamingos, if you know where those are.
00:03:42
Speaker
And there were like nice portals on each side to kind of define that area.
00:03:46
Speaker
They had, I actually thought the decor was pretty well done.
00:03:49
Speaker
They had like what I would call photo op kind of things like selfie moments slash actual photo ops with like characters and were there stilt walkers or am I going crazy?
00:04:01
Speaker
Yeah.
00:04:02
Speaker
I believe so.
00:04:02
Speaker
When like they had the whole like parade going on, I think they did have them around there, but they weren't there the entire time.
00:04:09
Speaker
Okay.
00:04:09
Speaker
Yeah.
00:04:10
Speaker
Um, but I thought the atmosphere was pretty decent, maybe a little bit more than I expected necessarily, because I always, I thought of it as a food event primarily.
00:04:19
Speaker
And so there was a little more decor than I expected.
00:04:21
Speaker
And they did have, unfortunately I missed it every time I walked past, but they did have a, um, live band that had scheduled performances in that area too, that looked cool.
00:04:31
Speaker
Um,
00:04:32
Speaker
So yeah.
00:04:34
Speaker
Yeah, the music they were playing outside of the live entertainment was good too.
00:04:37
Speaker
Like it definitely felt very Mardi Gras-esque.
00:04:42
Speaker
And I agree, like I think all the bright colors kind of concentrated in that small space made it look very well decorated.
00:04:48
Speaker
I guess I didn't know going into it that it was just limited to a small area in the park.
00:04:52
Speaker
Like I kind of thought that it would like permeate a little bit more throughout the rest of the park.
00:04:56
Speaker
And I also didn't know...
00:04:57
Speaker
Like if I wasn't following you guys, Rafa, I wouldn't have known that any of Mardi Gras crossed over that little bridge and was like in that other area too.
00:05:05
Speaker
Yeah.
00:05:06
Speaker
It was like a little bit confusing to navigate the different booths and stuff.
00:05:10
Speaker
But it looked pretty where it was.
00:05:13
Speaker
And we utilized the props for our picture.
00:05:16
Speaker
Yeah.

Food Shortages and Improvisations at Mardi Gras

00:05:18
Speaker
Yeah, I was disappointed.
00:05:21
Speaker
I mean, I know that this was, I believe this was all of your first times going during Mardi Gras, right?
00:05:26
Speaker
Was this the first time that you guys saw the Mardi Gras event?
00:05:29
Speaker
Yes, I think so.
00:05:31
Speaker
Yeah.
00:05:31
Speaker
So normally, I mean, I don't know if it was because we decided to try some of their offerings later on in the day, but there were a lot of food options and drink options not available at each of these stands, which I thought was ridiculous.
00:05:48
Speaker
You know, they're
00:05:49
Speaker
I think for one of the stands, I forgot what it was.
00:05:51
Speaker
I believe it was a, it was one of the po boys that they had.
00:05:54
Speaker
They didn't have any buns available.
00:05:57
Speaker
So they were putting the sausage with the rice, which was part of the other item that they had there, which I think was some kind of, it was like a rice and beans kind of thing.
00:06:08
Speaker
So they made that with the sausage.
00:06:10
Speaker
What was that?
00:06:11
Speaker
I made them do that.
00:06:12
Speaker
Oh, wait, you did?
00:06:15
Speaker
I saw somebody else with it too.
00:06:16
Speaker
So I was like, what is going on?
00:06:19
Speaker
I kind of started a trend that they probably didn't want me to because they said, we have no bread.
00:06:24
Speaker
And I was like, when I asked for the po' boy, because this is the, this is this bill for sure.
00:06:29
Speaker
Cause it was like six 30 and the park closed at eight, which I still feel is a time that people are eating at six 30.
00:06:34
Speaker
Yeah.
00:06:34
Speaker
Right.
00:06:34
Speaker
Yeah.
00:06:35
Speaker
And all of these places were freaking out of food.
00:06:37
Speaker
And I was like, okay, lack of foresight here.
00:06:39
Speaker
It's a Saturday in your park.
00:06:40
Speaker
You should know better.
00:06:41
Speaker
But anyway.
00:06:43
Speaker
That's really upsetting, especially because like it wasn't cheap.
00:06:46
Speaker
Like it was $40 for the, for the punch card for pass holders.
00:06:51
Speaker
And then you get your six items and like,
00:06:54
Speaker
We were out at the tailgate like, you know, a little bit earlier.
00:06:58
Speaker
And you even said to me, Tyler, you were like, did you check what time the food or like the offerings closed?
00:07:03
Speaker
Because like Joey and I planned to go in and do it, you know, after the tailgate, which I got back in the park at six o'clock.
00:07:09
Speaker
And I thought two hours was plenty of time, especially with it being dinner time.
00:07:13
Speaker
And there was.
00:07:14
Speaker
like slim pickings.
00:07:16
Speaker
Like you would go to a booth and it's like, this is our one item we have left.
00:07:19
Speaker
Do you want it?
00:07:20
Speaker
It's like, I guess so.
00:07:22
Speaker
Yeah.
00:07:24
Speaker
And to be fair to us, like,
00:07:26
Speaker
There was nothing on any of the advertising materials that said it stopped at a certain point.
00:07:32
Speaker
So I think it was supposed to go up until park closed.
00:07:35
Speaker
Like those booths were still there.
00:07:36
Speaker
They sure didn't act like it though.
00:07:38
Speaker
I know.
00:07:39
Speaker
It's just like, but the food was completely gone.
00:07:42
Speaker
Yeah.
00:07:42
Speaker
Some of the booths were like already covering up like some of the equipment that they had.
00:07:46
Speaker
And I'm like, it's, we still have like an hour until the park closes.
00:07:49
Speaker
Like what's going on?
00:07:50
Speaker
Yeah.
00:07:50
Speaker
So that was, that was very,
00:07:52
Speaker
I would expect like 7.30 maybe things start wrapping up.
00:07:55
Speaker
Right, that makes sense.
00:07:56
Speaker
But as early as it happened, I was like, what in the world?
00:07:59
Speaker
Oh no, now we have to figure out how to use these punches.
00:08:03
Speaker
Yeah.
00:08:03
Speaker
Well, on a positive note, the things that I did try were like, some of them were pretty decent.
00:08:09
Speaker
Do we want to talk about what we have?
00:08:12
Speaker
Yeah, sure.
00:08:15
Speaker
Definitely.
00:08:17
Speaker
The first thing that I had was the beignet Mardi Gras king cake style beignet.
00:08:24
Speaker
Or no, actually, I think I might have had the no, that was the one I had because I went to the beignet table and asked for the Bourbon Street beignet and they didn't have any of those.
00:08:32
Speaker
They're like, we have a couple with the kiwi lime.
00:08:34
Speaker
And I was like, sure.
00:08:35
Speaker
Sure.
00:08:36
Speaker
But then when I got the beignet, it was like a little plate, had three little beignets on it, and they were like plain.
00:08:42
Speaker
There was nothing.
00:08:43
Speaker
They tasted great.
00:08:44
Speaker
Like, I don't know if you guys had any of them.
00:08:46
Speaker
They were pretty good.
00:08:47
Speaker
It was like no added.
00:08:48
Speaker
Like, it was supposed to be lime, mango, blackberry sauce.
00:08:51
Speaker
No sauce.
00:08:53
Speaker
With mine, they did add the kiwi lime jelly thing, which looks like, I don't know if you guys remember the...
00:09:02
Speaker
It was like a, was it like the sour, you know, the sour bottle?
00:09:06
Speaker
Like it was like a bottle with like, it's kind of like a jelly.
00:09:09
Speaker
I don't know what it's called, but it was giving our slime or something like that.
00:09:14
Speaker
And it was like in a tube.
00:09:16
Speaker
It looked like they put that all over the top of.
00:09:19
Speaker
Yeah.
00:09:20
Speaker
So it was very interesting.
00:09:22
Speaker
I would have appreciated the availability of the mango or blackberry.
00:09:25
Speaker
Cause I probably would have picked one of those over the Kiwi lime and considering powder or the powder.
00:09:31
Speaker
Yeah.
00:09:32
Speaker
I didn't get any powder coating either.
00:09:34
Speaker
I mean, I thought they tasted fine.
00:09:36
Speaker
The Kiwi's a little weird maybe, but yeah, they weren't beignets, which was my biggest problem.
00:09:41
Speaker
They were like donuts.
00:09:43
Speaker
Jelly inside.
00:09:44
Speaker
Yeah.

Drink Highlights and Disappointments at Mardi Gras

00:09:45
Speaker
You have been years without powdered sugar on it.
00:09:48
Speaker
Without the beignet.
00:09:49
Speaker
Is that one of the things you did Tyler?
00:09:52
Speaker
No, I didn't have any bineans.
00:09:55
Speaker
I had one single bite of Kelly's crepe.
00:09:58
Speaker
Let's talk about this.
00:10:03
Speaker
If you don't know me, I am a queen of crepes.
00:10:06
Speaker
I search for crepes at every single park that I go to.
00:10:10
Speaker
A lot of parks don't have crepes.
00:10:12
Speaker
Normally, I don't think BGT has crepes, but we were over on that other side over the little bridge that I didn't know existed for Mardi Gras.
00:10:21
Speaker
And somebody in your group, Rafa, was like, oh, look, they have crepes.
00:10:25
Speaker
And my head whipped around so fast.
00:10:28
Speaker
You guys went straight there.
00:10:30
Speaker
What?
00:10:31
Speaker
There's crepes here?
00:10:31
Speaker
I got so excited.
00:10:33
Speaker
I recall you were jumping up and down.
00:10:36
Speaker
Yeah, it probably was.
00:10:37
Speaker
I mean, this is how I feel about crepes.
00:10:40
Speaker
So I'm pulling it up.
00:10:41
Speaker
They had two crepe offerings.
00:10:43
Speaker
One was the Banana Foster Crepe All-A-Mode, so that had sliced bananas, caramel, dark rum topped with vanilla soft serve.
00:10:49
Speaker
And then they had a strawberry one, which was strawberry, strawberry glaze with vanilla soft serve.
00:10:54
Speaker
I ordered the strawberry one.
00:10:56
Speaker
They said, oh, we just gave our last one out.
00:10:58
Speaker
Dex and Kim took it.
00:11:00
Speaker
So I was like, sure, yes, the Banana is Foster.
00:11:02
Speaker
I'll have that.
00:11:04
Speaker
It came out and every crepe is different.
00:11:06
Speaker
All crepes are made beautifully.
00:11:09
Speaker
But this one was just like the crepe.
00:11:12
Speaker
The crepe shell.
00:11:14
Speaker
It was the crepe shell, like the actual thin pancake.
00:11:18
Speaker
With the bananas and then ice cream on top.
00:11:20
Speaker
Like my normal experience with a crepe is that the stuff is on the inside.
00:11:26
Speaker
And then the crepe part is folded over top.
00:11:29
Speaker
Like I love a crepe with Nutella and all kinds of fruit up in there and some powdered sugar on top.
00:11:34
Speaker
And that's what I was expecting.
00:11:35
Speaker
And even when it came out not looking like that, I still had high hopes because a crepe is a crepe and I love a crepe.
00:11:40
Speaker
But this crepe particularly was amazing.
00:11:43
Speaker
Not great.
00:11:44
Speaker
Girl, that was an ice cream sundae.
00:11:46
Speaker
That's exactly what I was going to say.
00:11:48
Speaker
It was just that.
00:11:49
Speaker
It was an ice cream sundae.
00:11:49
Speaker
That was not a crepe.
00:11:50
Speaker
Very good.
00:11:51
Speaker
I love me some vanilla ice cream.
00:11:53
Speaker
But that's not how I tasted.
00:11:55
Speaker
And then it was just like a mush of banana.
00:11:57
Speaker
And the crepe itself, there was like nothing to it.
00:12:01
Speaker
It was like soggy and the leftover by the end.
00:12:04
Speaker
Or soggy.
00:12:05
Speaker
Yeah.
00:12:05
Speaker
Tyler, that was your bite.
00:12:06
Speaker
You had ice cream only, right?
00:12:08
Speaker
Was there anything else?
00:12:10
Speaker
I just had the crepe only, actually.
00:12:12
Speaker
I thought it was fine, but honestly, I don't really know what a crepe is supposed to taste like.
00:12:17
Speaker
We're going to have to redo.
00:12:19
Speaker
It's at least supposed to be folded.
00:12:21
Speaker
That was my biggest thing.
00:12:22
Speaker
Don't call it a crepe.
00:12:23
Speaker
You're not going to fold it.
00:12:24
Speaker
I'm like Moira Rose.
00:12:26
Speaker
Fold it in.
00:12:27
Speaker
It's a very awkward crepe.
00:12:30
Speaker
Yes.
00:12:32
Speaker
Is a crepe just a French burrito?
00:12:35
Speaker
Yes.
00:12:37
Speaker
Instead of a roll situation, it's usually just like a... Yeah, so like a French quesadilla.
00:12:43
Speaker
More like a taco.
00:12:45
Speaker
Like a French quesadilla.
00:12:46
Speaker
Yes.
00:12:47
Speaker
100%.
00:12:47
Speaker
And it's so good.
00:12:50
Speaker
It's better.
00:12:52
Speaker
Gotcha.
00:12:53
Speaker
Are we about to get into the cube rule of food?
00:12:59
Speaker
Let's not.
00:13:00
Speaker
That's a topic for another time.
00:13:02
Speaker
Yeah.
00:13:03
Speaker
So I had, I also had a drink.
00:13:05
Speaker
I had the hurricane, which I thought it was fine.
00:13:08
Speaker
It was really sweet, but that's pretty much how all these sort of like pre-mixed theme park drinks are, but I thought it was pretty good.
00:13:16
Speaker
Fairly strong.
00:13:17
Speaker
I tasted that as well.
00:13:19
Speaker
I love rum and had rum in it.
00:13:21
Speaker
I thought it was pretty good.
00:13:23
Speaker
I didn't drink very much of it, but it tasted good, the sip that I had.
00:13:26
Speaker
Yeah.
00:13:27
Speaker
Yeah, I also had that one.
00:13:28
Speaker
That one was pretty good.
00:13:29
Speaker
And I also tried, I don't know if you guys had tried this one as well.
00:13:33
Speaker
There was a Blackberry Smash Craft Standard Cocktail, that's what they say, which is bourbon.
00:13:38
Speaker
Let's talk about that.
00:13:40
Speaker
You had it?
00:13:41
Speaker
Yes.
00:13:42
Speaker
Yeah.
00:13:42
Speaker
So bourbon, blackberry brandy with mojito flavors.
00:13:45
Speaker
That's what it says here.
00:13:47
Speaker
Uh-huh.
00:13:48
Speaker
That flavor was...
00:13:50
Speaker
Not it.
00:13:50
Speaker
I don't know what that was.
00:13:52
Speaker
I mean, it wasn't bad.
00:13:55
Speaker
But I don't know.
00:13:58
Speaker
I was sharing it with somebody and they were like, no, can't do it.
00:14:00
Speaker
The aftertaste was awful.
00:14:04
Speaker
So it didn't really taste of blackberry at all.
00:14:08
Speaker
No.
00:14:09
Speaker
It was very minty.
00:14:11
Speaker
Yeah.
00:14:12
Speaker
And so I think they, I don't know if it was artificial mint flavor or something like, and that was the way that they claim the mojito because, Oh, here's some mint.
00:14:21
Speaker
But the problem was the whole thing just kind of tasted like mint.
00:14:24
Speaker
So it was a liquid mint.
00:14:26
Speaker
That's disgusting.
00:14:27
Speaker
It wasn't, it wasn't great.
00:14:29
Speaker
It didn't even give us a kick.
00:14:30
Speaker
I mean, I didn't, it didn't give me all that much of a tip.
00:14:34
Speaker
But I will say the hurricane one, I got that one too.
00:14:36
Speaker
And that one I thought was pretty delicious and pretty strong.
00:14:40
Speaker
And the, I don't know if you guys had tried it.
00:14:41
Speaker
There's also the Purple Passion Craft Standard Cocktail, which was vodka, pineapple juice, blackberry brandy, dessert pear, oh dessert, desert pear, and margarita flavors, which that one was pretty good.
00:14:55
Speaker
I did like that one.
00:14:57
Speaker
But yeah, that last one, the Blackberry, I don't know what that was.
00:15:01
Speaker
That was a mint smash.
00:15:02
Speaker
That's what it was.
00:15:03
Speaker
That was the worst drink I had.
00:15:05
Speaker
And I had at that same stand with the purple one, I got the Bourbon Street cocktail, which was just bourbon, triple sec, margarita.
00:15:12
Speaker
That one was good.
00:15:13
Speaker
That was probably my favorite one.
00:15:16
Speaker
They did have the whiskey tasting,

Bead-Throwing and Parade Experience at Mardi Gras

00:15:21
Speaker
which...
00:15:23
Speaker
Our friends had a grand old time with that.
00:15:26
Speaker
Bethany had a good old time with that.
00:15:28
Speaker
And Shay had a great time as well, which was very strong.
00:15:31
Speaker
That set them up for the rest of the day.
00:15:33
Speaker
I think that was the best stand, honestly, because, I mean, you can't mess that up.
00:15:38
Speaker
They're just pouring it from the bottle.
00:15:40
Speaker
What are they doing?
00:15:41
Speaker
Like full shots?
00:15:42
Speaker
They were like full shots.
00:15:43
Speaker
I think it comes with four.
00:15:46
Speaker
I don't remember each one, but I did try the peanut butter whiskey, which was very good.
00:15:53
Speaker
I'm not crazy about peanut butter, but it was really good and it was very strong.
00:15:58
Speaker
But yeah, that was a fun stand.
00:16:01
Speaker
Nice.
00:16:02
Speaker
I did not make it over there.
00:16:04
Speaker
What was that?
00:16:05
Speaker
I did not make it over to that one.
00:16:08
Speaker
That one was right next to the right next to where you redeem the lanyard, actually.
00:16:15
Speaker
Right next to it.
00:16:16
Speaker
Yeah, that was an upcharge.
00:16:19
Speaker
Well, it worked with the lanyard, though.
00:16:20
Speaker
Oh, it did?
00:16:21
Speaker
Yeah.
00:16:22
Speaker
That's how I got my shot.
00:16:23
Speaker
Because Shay and Bethany got... They paid for the separate tasting.
00:16:29
Speaker
Yeah.
00:16:29
Speaker
And I just asked for a shot, and they gave me just a single shot.
00:16:32
Speaker
Oh, so you were able to do one.
00:16:33
Speaker
Got it.
00:16:34
Speaker
One shot.
00:16:34
Speaker
Yeah, you don't do the whole tasting.
00:16:35
Speaker
It's just which other one you want.
00:16:37
Speaker
Okay.
00:16:38
Speaker
I should have tried that.
00:16:39
Speaker
Oh, well.
00:16:39
Speaker
All right.
00:16:41
Speaker
Any other foods that stuck out to anybody or drinks?
00:16:45
Speaker
Kelly had that shrimp one, right?
00:16:47
Speaker
I had the shrimp creole and it was delicious.
00:16:52
Speaker
Like I love me some Cajun food, but that was very, very spicy.
00:16:57
Speaker
And like, I would say that I can handle like a medium, like a moderate level of spice.
00:17:02
Speaker
Like I was,
00:17:03
Speaker
like crying and I feel like my sinuses were never more open in my life and I was like eating it next to Dex who was also eating it and he had the same exact face as me so I was like yeah yeah I was terrified after I saw you guys I'm like no way no chance I'm trying that it was good but definitely like reflux inducing
00:17:26
Speaker
That's kind of surprising because I feel like at theme parks, they kind of tend towards like bland, like on the spice scale because they know that people, you know, might not like super spicy.
00:17:36
Speaker
Right.
00:17:36
Speaker
Yeah, it was definitely the last couple left.
00:17:40
Speaker
Like they just had a couple of them sitting out and they're like, we have these and they let me take it without even punching my card.
00:17:46
Speaker
So I was like, is this just like the kitchen sink right now of some creole?
00:17:50
Speaker
Like I don't really know.
00:17:51
Speaker
It's like the spice settled at the bottom.
00:17:53
Speaker
Yeah.
00:17:53
Speaker
Yeah.
00:17:55
Speaker
Like, good luck.
00:17:57
Speaker
Right.
00:17:57
Speaker
You get it for free.
00:18:00
Speaker
Uh, okay.
00:18:01
Speaker
What else?
00:18:03
Speaker
Oh yeah.
00:18:03
Speaker
We kind of already talked about this, but there was, uh, there was a stand that advertised had Cajun rice and, and Dewey sausage po boys.
00:18:14
Speaker
And so I went up and I wanted the po boy and they were like, we don't have any bread.
00:18:18
Speaker
And they were like, some, somebody was like on a golf cart, I guess, driving away, trying to go get them.
00:18:23
Speaker
But they were like, it's probably going to be like 10, 20 minutes.
00:18:25
Speaker
I was like, I'm not waiting for that.
00:18:27
Speaker
I said, can you take the like the stuff from the po' boy and just give that to me without the bread?
00:18:34
Speaker
And then what they ended up doing is just putting like a sausage on top of the Cajun rice and they gave that to me.
00:18:41
Speaker
And then that kind of started a trend because the people behind me were like, just do that.
00:18:45
Speaker
And then everybody was doing it.
00:18:48
Speaker
I actually thought that those both of those were pretty good.
00:18:50
Speaker
Like the andouille was tasty and that the Cajun rice was really flavorful too.
00:18:55
Speaker
Sometimes that gets again like can be bland, but I thought it was and that was really the only like food food I had because the other stuff was the desserts and the drinks and that was it was nice.
00:19:06
Speaker
Hey, maybe you invented a new menu item and they'll have it for sale next year.
00:19:10
Speaker
Just forget about the bread and just put it on the rest.
00:19:15
Speaker
I feel like the portion size, at least for the shrimp creole that I had, was pretty large compared to what I've tasted at similar seasonal offerings at other parks before.
00:19:29
Speaker
It was like a full bowl, like a large bowl.
00:19:32
Speaker
I didn't have any problem with that.
00:19:33
Speaker
The fact that they gave you three beignets, that...
00:19:36
Speaker
quote unquote crepe was like a full bowl of ice cream.
00:19:39
Speaker
Like, yeah, yeah.
00:19:41
Speaker
I didn't feel gypped by the, you know, the, the punches.
00:19:45
Speaker
Cause sometimes you get one and you're like, wow, that is really tiny.
00:19:49
Speaker
Right.
00:19:49
Speaker
I feel like all in all, I mean like the food offerings are not bad.
00:19:53
Speaker
It's just, it could have just been the time that we started sampling these things.
00:19:58
Speaker
So, I mean, not bad.
00:20:00
Speaker
I, so, you know, if I were to just give any advice and just start the sampling early,
00:20:05
Speaker
Try to get all the good options.
00:20:08
Speaker
That being said, it seems like we actually hit most of the like food.
00:20:13
Speaker
Yeah.
00:20:14
Speaker
Even though things were running out is I think the only thing that we didn't hit was the crawfish at Tufay.
00:20:20
Speaker
Yeah, that that was I know they were all out of that when I got there.
00:20:24
Speaker
Yeah, same.
00:20:25
Speaker
Did anybody actually see the parade at all?
00:20:29
Speaker
I tried catching beads a couple times and then I was like, all right, I'm gonna keep going.
00:20:33
Speaker
I think I was just there for a couple minutes.
00:20:35
Speaker
I guess, was that the very end where they were throwing the beads out?
00:20:38
Speaker
They did it, no, they did it early on, actually.
00:20:42
Speaker
I wasn't sure if the beads was a separate thing or if that was part of the parade.
00:20:50
Speaker
I went up, I caught one bead, and then my first ride on Gwazi, it immediately flew off.
00:20:55
Speaker
So I never died.
00:20:59
Speaker
It says the so there is a bead balcony which was happening, which I got to see.
00:21:05
Speaker
And there's like all the performers up there on a set piece that they had built throwing the beads and kind of like music.
00:21:11
Speaker
Yeah, that's separate from the parade.
00:21:12
Speaker
So there was like a I didn't I didn't notice the parade.
00:21:15
Speaker
I don't know how many times it happened, but I guess I think it happened while we were trying the crepe.
00:21:22
Speaker
Yeah, I think it was around that time.
00:21:26
Speaker
We were very busy with ice cream.
00:21:28
Speaker
Yeah.
00:21:30
Speaker
understandable yeah i mean that's pretty much the extent of it and i know that a lot of the seas parks do similar mardi gras events so i would expect you know a similar experience yeah tyler have you ever done the one at bush williamsburg um i think i've been there during it i've never actually gone through and gotten the uh the lanyard and done the food um
00:21:56
Speaker
I have, I take that back.
00:21:57
Speaker
I have done cause sometimes with the platinum membership still give you a free food item or two free food items each time you go.
00:22:02
Speaker
So I've done that.
00:22:03
Speaker
Um, but haven't really gone through the full event, but from what I remember, it was pretty good.
00:22:07
Speaker
I would say, you know, somewhat similar.
00:22:10
Speaker
Um, the atmosphere was not as good.
00:22:12
Speaker
I think just the, the setup of Tampa wins itself a little bit better for a Mardi Gras event or at least where they had it.
00:22:21
Speaker
Where did they do it there?
00:22:24
Speaker
I feel like it was just kind of all spread out.
00:22:26
Speaker
I remember getting something in Ireland, which was kind of weird for Mardi Gras, I think.
00:22:37
Speaker
They don't really have a natural country to put that in.
00:22:40
Speaker
Yeah.
00:22:41
Speaker
I don't remember there being a centralized location, but it has been a few years, so I could be wrong.
00:22:47
Speaker
I think it spread out.
00:22:48
Speaker
I went, um, the only time that I ever went to BGW, they, it was during Mardi Gras on, they had it spread out around the, around the park.
00:22:56
Speaker
It wasn't like in a specific area.
00:22:58
Speaker
Yeah.
00:22:59
Speaker
That's how I remember it too.
00:23:01
Speaker
But all in all, it was a very good time regardless.
00:23:04
Speaker
I mean, we had a great time.
00:23:07
Speaker
Um, just, I would just try the food earlier, but.
00:23:09
Speaker
But yeah, I mean, it was solid.
00:23:11
Speaker
Definitely try.
00:23:12
Speaker
I think the way to go is to get one lanyard.
00:23:15
Speaker
Like, if you're going with somebody else, share that.
00:23:18
Speaker
And if you want more, then obviously get another lanyard.
00:23:21
Speaker
But at least try it out at first with just a single lanyard.
00:23:25
Speaker
And don't blow all the money on that.
00:23:26
Speaker
Right.
00:23:29
Speaker
The pregame at the tailgate certainly helped beforehand.
00:23:34
Speaker
All right.

Halloween Horror Nights Speculations Begin

00:23:36
Speaker
Let's move on into Horror Nights.
00:23:38
Speaker
I think this is going to be kind of a long-standing segment we're doing because there's just so much news to come all year round.
00:23:47
Speaker
I'll be honest, I have not kept up super closely with all the speculation recently.
00:23:51
Speaker
Have you guys kept up with anything since we last recorded?
00:23:56
Speaker
yes kelly sure has we know so this is wild i feel like and i've certainly like followed each and more and more over the past couple of years but i feel like this is the earliest we've gotten this like large of an amount of like hints or like speculation starting i feel like
00:24:19
Speaker
in years past, it was at least like into spring before we had some solid information.
00:24:23
Speaker
So I was a little bit surprised.
00:24:26
Speaker
I have a lot of notes that we can discuss, but I think like the first thing to talk about and the first thing that really dropped was on Christmas day, Horror Nights Nightmares.
00:24:38
Speaker
He's an account on like Twitter and Instagram.
00:24:41
Speaker
He's responsible for the like speculation maps that come out.
00:24:46
Speaker
And he usually does a couple of different versions where
00:24:49
Speaker
The first one is like very like minimal, like maybe not clues for every house.
00:24:56
Speaker
And maybe the houses are not in the correct locations or the symbols that he uses are not in the correct locations.
00:25:02
Speaker
But like as it gets closer and closer to the event, the map starts to match what the actual event map is.
00:25:07
Speaker
Let me interject and ask a question about that.
00:25:10
Speaker
for those of us who are not as immersed in the HHN speculation world.
00:25:15
Speaker
So this is an independent account, right?
00:25:17
Speaker
H or horror nightmares is an independent, like third party has nothing to do with the park.
00:25:22
Speaker
And what's happening is they're getting leaks from the inside, I guess, is that, is that how they know, like what they're dropping?
00:25:30
Speaker
It's presumed like there's some, some insider information being shared.
00:25:37
Speaker
And the way that this account shares kind of the speculation is in a very like cryptic way initially.
00:25:44
Speaker
So it's almost as if like maybe they just have like bits and pieces or, you know, they have maybe they know more.
00:25:50
Speaker
They have, you know, a lot more information, but don't want to release all of that.
00:25:55
Speaker
to the public for various reasons but usually like the the speculation map evolves and becomes more clear as time comes as time goes on so yes third party um not associated with the park at all
00:26:08
Speaker
Yeah, and a lot of times, as we get closer to the event, once people start to audition to be a scare actor and all that, some of that information will go out because so-and-so was cast as whatever character that kind of gives away what they might be a part of.
00:26:25
Speaker
So as we get closer, once more and more people start getting more involved with the project and with the whole event, we start finding out more.
00:26:34
Speaker
One thing that I did see on that Twitter account, which is interesting and is more of like a solid source of speculation, I guess, is the permit filings.
00:26:43
Speaker
Because there are like filings for like, I guess, temporary construction, whatever it is for the houses.
00:26:48
Speaker
And I think it lists the soundstage and then like a code name, right?
00:26:53
Speaker
And Kelly, you know more about that.
00:26:54
Speaker
Yeah, so that came later.
00:26:55
Speaker
So he released his spec map on Christmas Day.
00:26:59
Speaker
which we can kind of talk about what's on there.
00:27:01
Speaker
And then he pretty much reposted the information that came out about a week, week and a half later.
00:27:06
Speaker
There were, over the course of a couple of days, the uncovering, obviously it's public information for the permits for the houses, which also get their code names.
00:27:16
Speaker
So it's interesting in the way that I kind of do, of course, I have a spreadsheet.
00:27:20
Speaker
If you know me, you know.
00:27:21
Speaker
Um, I matched up the symbols that Horror Nights Nightmares used with the, um, code name from the permit filing for each location.
00:27:33
Speaker
Some of them have both, some of them don't have both.
00:27:36
Speaker
And the thing to keep in mind, obviously with speculation is like, like I said, the spec map, oftentimes his symbol locations are
00:27:43
Speaker
are correct, like the symbols are correct.
00:27:46
Speaker
Like that's going to represent a house, but not necessarily in the correct location.
00:27:49
Speaker
And I went back and looked at his past couple of years.
00:27:52
Speaker
And like, for example, he gets a lot of the houses, right.
00:27:55
Speaker
But like completely not the correct locations until later versions of the map, whether that's on purpose or not.
00:28:00
Speaker
Yeah.
00:28:00
Speaker
I noticed that last year, like one of the major IP houses was out in a tent, like on one of the early versions.
00:28:05
Speaker
And then all of a sudden it was like, well, just kidding.
00:28:07
Speaker
It's over here.
00:28:08
Speaker
So that was kind of funny.
00:28:09
Speaker
Yeah.
00:28:10
Speaker
So I thought we could go through what is listed as of right now, obviously keeping in mind these things might not, the symbol from the map and the code names might not actually be the same location, but we can kind of speculate based on
00:28:26
Speaker
What there is.
00:28:27
Speaker
And one thing I wanted to bring up is the rumors about the number of houses this year.
00:28:34
Speaker
So this is super interesting.
00:28:35
Speaker
What started this rumor is on the permits, you can see the location, obviously.
00:28:41
Speaker
for each house and they're listed by like soundstage or tent or, you know, wherever they are.
00:28:47
Speaker
And for the first time in a couple of years, they're bringing back soundstage 25, which was not used the past two years and tends to be used for what they call mega houses.
00:29:00
Speaker
So like usually an IP that they want to have, you know,
00:29:03
Speaker
a couple of extra rooms for or something like that so i thought that was interesting and then there is a permit filed for soundstage 24b but there's no permit filed for soundstage 24a so people are speculating that maybe we just don't have that permit yet and there's potentially going to be an 11th house utilizing this past year they used 24a and b
00:29:29
Speaker
But now they're using 25 and there's a 24B missing a 24A.
00:29:33
Speaker
And it would be weird, I feel, for them to name.
00:29:36
Speaker
If, say, they're just using one soundstage or one half of that soundstage, wouldn't they just call it 24 and not necessarily B?
00:29:43
Speaker
Like, if there wasn't an A, why would there be a B?
00:29:46
Speaker
I don't know.
00:29:47
Speaker
But people are saying, so a lot of people are saying there's going to be 11 houses this year.
00:29:53
Speaker
And then some people are even saying that there's going to be 12 houses this year because the code names for the houses are flowers.
00:30:01
Speaker
And people are saying you usually purchase flowers in a dozen.
00:30:06
Speaker
A bouquet of flowers comes by the dozen.
00:30:08
Speaker
I mean, that's another thing that I've been hearing swirling around.
00:30:12
Speaker
So interesting.
00:30:13
Speaker
There's been 10 houses for quite some time.
00:30:16
Speaker
I looked back and
00:30:18
Speaker
The jump from nine to 10 houses in 2016, they went from nine to 10 in 2017 back to nine, 2018, 10.
00:30:24
Speaker
It's been 10 ever since.
00:30:27
Speaker
Yeah, they've stuck to that for something.
00:30:29
Speaker
I don't see it going down again.
00:30:30
Speaker
Have they ever jumped two like that?
00:30:33
Speaker
They've never jumped two, so...
00:30:36
Speaker
Okay, 91 was the first year.
00:30:38
Speaker
And the first couple of years, they added one every year.
00:30:40
Speaker
So 91 was one house 92 is 234 went that way five dropped back down to three.
00:30:46
Speaker
And then 97 was five that was stagnant for a while.
00:30:51
Speaker
And then in 2003, there was six.
00:30:54
Speaker
And then they hovered around 678 for like the early 2000 teens, and then to nine in 2015 into 10 and 2016.
00:31:05
Speaker
Never any like significant jumps, but it'd be interesting.
00:31:10
Speaker
And then it makes you wonder about like, what are the, how is that going to affect what they charge for the event?
00:31:14
Speaker
How's that going to affect crowds?
00:31:17
Speaker
Yeah.
00:31:17
Speaker
First thing that came to my mind is how is that going to affect the scare zones?

Soundstage Permits and Theme Predictions for HHN

00:31:20
Speaker
Cause I feel like they're kind of lacking in that already.
00:31:23
Speaker
So is the budget going to go towards those,
00:31:25
Speaker
one or two extra houses or are we still going to have the same number of scare zones, which I think we kind of need more, but I don't, I don't know where they're going with that.
00:31:34
Speaker
If it's even the case.
00:31:35
Speaker
And I don't know where, if the 12th house rumor thing is true, like, I don't know where the 12th house would go.
00:31:41
Speaker
Like obviously 11th would maybe go in 24 a where we don't have a permit yet.
00:31:47
Speaker
But they had said that they're not able to utilize the parade building, which was a prior location of a lot of houses.
00:31:52
Speaker
They're using the same tent setup, it seems, that they did this past season for the four tents.
00:31:59
Speaker
And then the sound stages in Fast and Furious.
00:32:01
Speaker
So I don't know.
00:32:02
Speaker
I don't know where they would put that or what they're going to do.
00:32:05
Speaker
I feel like maybe this year we'll jump to 11.
00:32:08
Speaker
I think they're probably anticipating some higher crowds due to like Epic being open maybe.
00:32:13
Speaker
And that will funnel some more people into the event.
00:32:16
Speaker
So I wouldn't be surprised if they make a jump this year.
00:32:19
Speaker
But I think 12 is crazy.
00:32:20
Speaker
That would be wild.
00:32:21
Speaker
Yeah.
00:32:23
Speaker
The other thing is like, they're really throwing us off if there are going to be 11 because all of these permits got filed in the same time and there's not an 11th one yet.
00:32:30
Speaker
So that's the other thing that's weird.
00:32:32
Speaker
Like I was kind of thinking like, okay, maybe they're separated by a couple of days, but this information leaked or not leaked was, was publicly available like almost a month ago now.
00:32:41
Speaker
Right.
00:32:42
Speaker
But I also feel like it kind of would be a universal thing to like hold that one back because they know the instant they post it, somebody's going to go get it.
00:32:50
Speaker
Yeah.
00:32:50
Speaker
Yeah.
00:32:52
Speaker
And they know there's people like speculating in January.
00:32:57
Speaker
This is what I live for.
00:33:01
Speaker
But another thing to think about too, is like, we know that rip ride rocket is going to be closing and coming down around the time.
00:33:09
Speaker
Like they said that it's going to be open for basically the first two weeks of HHN, whether it will be open for the event or not.
00:33:15
Speaker
And then the fall time is like when it's coming down and there's a lot of
00:33:19
Speaker
cues for the soundstage houses that kind of wrap around the structure.
00:33:23
Speaker
So that'll be interesting to see how they manage that.
00:33:26
Speaker
Is that other soundstage in that area?
00:33:29
Speaker
25 is, right?
00:33:32
Speaker
All of them pretty much are.
00:33:34
Speaker
But is that closest to where Rocket is?
00:33:39
Speaker
25, I think, is more like back in the corner.
00:33:42
Speaker
Kind of like behind.
00:33:43
Speaker
I would have to look at a map.
00:33:44
Speaker
But 24, the one that's in question...
00:33:50
Speaker
I believe, let me pull it up, but I think that's where, um, sound stage 24.
00:33:57
Speaker
Um, I'm trying to get it with, uh, awkward pause.
00:34:09
Speaker
Wait, so I'm looking.
00:34:11
Speaker
Oh no.
00:34:11
Speaker
Yeah.
00:34:12
Speaker
That's in the, that's in the very back.
00:34:13
Speaker
That's like by Fallon.
00:34:16
Speaker
Like that, that,
00:34:17
Speaker
Yeah, back behind.
00:34:19
Speaker
So like last year, 24 had triplets, I think, in it.
00:34:24
Speaker
Yeah.
00:34:25
Speaker
And you said, okay, so in that one, there are two sides.
00:34:28
Speaker
You're saying, right?
00:34:29
Speaker
There was a 24A and 24B.
00:34:31
Speaker
This past year and the year before, yes.
00:34:36
Speaker
So I'm wondering if like whatever the plans are for Rip Ride Rockets...
00:34:41
Speaker
replacement if that's going to be affected and that's why they have it closed or they haven't mentioned anything about it yeah it's just weird that they would name the permit b yeah that's interesting yeah i wonder if maybe it's 25 not on this map what's that joy like on the spec map where's 25 there is it's not on the spec map
00:35:07
Speaker
So the spec map, it just mostly shows you like where it is, but they don't really show like the actual sound stages.
00:35:13
Speaker
Of these 10 mazes, none of them are labeled SS 25.
00:35:17
Speaker
Right.
00:35:17
Speaker
So he, that was before the permits came out.
00:35:20
Speaker
So.
00:35:20
Speaker
Oh, he didn't know.
00:35:22
Speaker
Oh, okay.
00:35:23
Speaker
Gotcha.
00:35:23
Speaker
Gotcha.
00:35:23
Speaker
Gotcha.
00:35:25
Speaker
So it's interesting.
00:35:27
Speaker
Yeah.
00:35:29
Speaker
Very interesting.
00:35:30
Speaker
Yeah, that rip ride rocket thing threw me for a loop.
00:35:33
Speaker
I was like in the middle of HHN of all time.
00:35:35
Speaker
Yeah, the date that they mentioned didn't make any sense.
00:35:39
Speaker
The wildest time to do it.
00:35:40
Speaker
If you're going to start demo when the queue is literally like for multiple houses is running right next to it.
00:35:45
Speaker
What?
00:35:46
Speaker
I don't get it.
00:35:47
Speaker
Yeah, that's interesting.
00:35:49
Speaker
I do think you might be right, Kelly, that like they might operate it during the day and just shut it down for HHN.
00:35:54
Speaker
I don't know.
00:35:54
Speaker
We'll see.
00:35:55
Speaker
For like the first two weeks.
00:35:57
Speaker
Yeah.
00:35:58
Speaker
I'm just happy they gave us some time and didn't immediately close it.
00:36:02
Speaker
Like a certain other company has been doing recently.
00:36:06
Speaker
Definitely.
00:36:08
Speaker
Well, let's jump into it and do some of this spec.
00:36:11
Speaker
Um,
00:36:12
Speaker
So starting with soundstage 22, on the spec map, the symbol was a rocking horse.
00:36:20
Speaker
And he also put a little notification of whether, well, I guess you could compare.
00:36:27
Speaker
He did a spec map for both Orlando and Hollywood, and there were some...
00:36:31
Speaker
of his symbols that appeared in both maps.
00:36:34
Speaker
So the speculation around that is that's usually an IP because Orlando and Hollywood usually don't have the same original houses in this, in the, in a single season in a single year.
00:36:44
Speaker
So this one with the rocking horse did appear on both spec maps, um, which I thought was interesting.
00:36:57
Speaker
And then the code name associated with soundstage 22 is poppy.
00:37:03
Speaker
So looking at like flower symbolism, a lot of times poppies represent like death, sleep, um, because of like the opioid in the poppy.
00:37:14
Speaker
Um, does that, does that trigger anything for you guys when you think about, I don't, what's really hard for me is I couldn't put together the poppy and the rocking horse, but I did think of some things for both of them separately.
00:37:26
Speaker
which could be the case.
00:37:27
Speaker
Like, I don't know if he maybe has a location wrong.
00:37:29
Speaker
Yeah.
00:37:31
Speaker
Okay.
00:37:32
Speaker
I'm definitely projecting here.
00:37:34
Speaker
I'm going to jump into this because I'm very excited about it.
00:37:36
Speaker
Okay.
00:37:37
Speaker
Poppy.
00:37:38
Speaker
The first thing I thought of immediately was wicked.
00:37:41
Speaker
Wicked is huge right now.
00:37:43
Speaker
And it is a universal picture.
00:37:45
Speaker
I don't necessarily think they're going to have a wicked house, but maybe I'm thinking back to some of the things they do like to recycle.
00:37:53
Speaker
you know, some of their stuff, they did feature the Wicked Witch of the West in Scary Tales, which was a house that they've done in the past.
00:38:01
Speaker
So I don't know if maybe they're going to bring something like that back and tie that into Wicked.
00:38:06
Speaker
I feel like any tie to Wicked will draw in contrary to some people's beliefs will bring in a lot of people and not necessarily like the typical horror fans.
00:38:16
Speaker
Like if there's something related to
00:38:19
Speaker
this huge movie franchise that's coming out right now and the second film will be coming out at the end of this haunt season with Thanksgiving.
00:38:28
Speaker
I don't know.
00:38:28
Speaker
I would be really into that.
00:38:30
Speaker
I love me some Wicked Witch of the West.
00:38:31
Speaker
That was like my first favorite, like scary movie villain, even though it wasn't like really a scary movie, but I thought of that as one option for Poppy.
00:38:41
Speaker
Yeah.
00:38:42
Speaker
Also, uh,
00:38:42
Speaker
You know, besides the poppy thing, you mentioned the rocking horse.
00:38:47
Speaker
Also, I mean, you have Elphaba on a horse as well.
00:38:51
Speaker
So, I mean, it kind of would work out, I think.
00:38:55
Speaker
I mean, if we're going based off of like these symbols alone.
00:38:58
Speaker
And like you said, this hasn't been something that they haven't done before.
00:39:02
Speaker
They did have, because I'm looking it up right now.
00:39:04
Speaker
And it was actually called, it was a scare zone.
00:39:06
Speaker
It was called the Path of the Wicked.
00:39:08
Speaker
um so they had that back in 2008 so i think it's possible that they could bring it back in some form whether it's wizard of oz themed or it could be scary tales it could be like the return of that as well it's possible i think it's very possible i think it'd be a huge money maker if they do yeah i
00:39:30
Speaker
And they would for that IP, I feel like use it on both coasts.
00:39:33
Speaker
Definitely.
00:39:34
Speaker
Which fits with the guy said, I also thought about that too.
00:39:39
Speaker
Like the rocking horse being like, if we're not even taking it as a rocking horse, just like, you know, she rides the horse, but also rides a broom.
00:39:47
Speaker
Like, I don't know if it's too far of a stretch.
00:39:50
Speaker
Um, the other thing I thought of when just kind of like,
00:39:54
Speaker
looking up what Blumhouse IP movies are coming out this year.
00:39:59
Speaker
Um, there's been a lot of like Wolfman just recently came out.
00:40:03
Speaker
And I feel like when I was going through the plot of that movie on Wikipedia, like there is, um, definitely like an old, like barn, um,
00:40:17
Speaker
I didn't see the movie yet.
00:40:18
Speaker
I don't know if any of you guys did, but I felt like I could kind of tie that in with the rocking horse, like the vibe of where this family is with the Wolfman.
00:40:27
Speaker
But it doesn't seem like it's getting a lot of good reviews, so I don't know.
00:40:32
Speaker
Obviously, they already have it planned.
00:40:33
Speaker
It would be happening with how well the movie does, but that was the other thing I thought of for rocking horse, but not necessarily like poppy.
00:40:40
Speaker
Yeah, I enjoyed the film.
00:40:42
Speaker
I watched it.
00:40:42
Speaker
I know a lot of people didn't like it.
00:40:43
Speaker
I enjoyed it.
00:40:44
Speaker
But settings wise, I think it would make like a great house.
00:40:48
Speaker
Like it's very woodsy, very farmy, like at least the location of it all.
00:40:54
Speaker
So that might work.
00:40:55
Speaker
I mean, what I was just thinking right now was about that mega soundstage that you were talking about, like the mega sized like house.
00:41:01
Speaker
And I think that's something I'm like wondering why they've never gone with that option when it comes to these Blumhouse double features.

Blumhouse and Speculated HHN Mega Houses

00:41:09
Speaker
because if they're going to do like let's let's say this year because one of the big the two big ips that they're mentioning are wolfman and we're hearing a lot about megan and then also five nights at freddy like if you're going to add three properties in there like you might as well have it like in a mega location yeah it's interesting yeah yeah because they've done that before two years ago they did that in the fast and furious location with black phone and what was the other one that was in there it was black phone and um
00:41:38
Speaker
Was it Sinister?
00:41:40
Speaker
Not memorable.
00:41:41
Speaker
It doesn't matter.
00:41:42
Speaker
Yeah.
00:41:42
Speaker
I don't remember.
00:41:44
Speaker
I don't remember what it was.
00:41:45
Speaker
Yeah.
00:41:46
Speaker
Which it worked because that was like kind of like that split setup where you like kind of exit the one and go in the other.
00:41:51
Speaker
But this year with Major Suites, it was set up different.
00:41:55
Speaker
Like you didn't, you never felt like you exited.
00:41:58
Speaker
Yeah.
00:41:59
Speaker
Like house.
00:42:01
Speaker
I don't know.
00:42:02
Speaker
I don't know.
00:42:03
Speaker
That's all I have for 22 as far as thoughts and spec.
00:42:07
Speaker
I would love for it to be tied to Wicked somehow.
00:42:09
Speaker
I don't know how possible that is.
00:42:12
Speaker
I think it can go along the lines of Fairytale for sure.
00:42:16
Speaker
I think it can go down that route.
00:42:18
Speaker
So that's definitely possible.
00:42:20
Speaker
Okay.
00:42:22
Speaker
Let's move clockwise.
00:42:25
Speaker
So 23A.
00:42:25
Speaker
The spec map symbol was like a dove or any type of...
00:42:33
Speaker
similar bird over like three little lotus looking flowers.
00:42:39
Speaker
Um, this one was not noted to be at both coasts.
00:42:42
Speaker
So that kind of leads people to believe, I guess that it's maybe an original house rather than an IP, not necessarily, but, but potentially.
00:42:52
Speaker
Um, and then the code name for this one is snap dragon.
00:42:56
Speaker
Um,
00:42:58
Speaker
So looking up flower symbolism for Snapdragon, it's deception, magic, and strength is what that represents, a Snapdragon.
00:43:07
Speaker
And I did a little bit of digging, too, on, like, the symbolism around a dove.
00:43:11
Speaker
And it comes up a lot in, like, religion and the church and then, like, lotus flowers.
00:43:21
Speaker
I wrote down a little note, like, lotus flowers blooms from the mud.
00:43:26
Speaker
So follow me on this one.
00:43:28
Speaker
Follow me.
00:43:29
Speaker
Let's hear it.
00:43:30
Speaker
Let's hear it.
00:43:31
Speaker
Okay.
00:43:32
Speaker
So there's a lot of talk in the community about The Last of Us Part 2.
00:43:39
Speaker
So I don't know anything about the world of tech, but I know Snapdragon is a tech thing.
00:43:45
Speaker
It's like a CPU thing.
00:43:46
Speaker
If you search it on Google, it comes up.
00:43:49
Speaker
It's used in games, which the first Last of Us house was based off of the game and not the TV show.
00:43:56
Speaker
So I was like, hmm, that's interesting.
00:43:58
Speaker
And then I looked a little bit at the, I'm not a Last of Us person, but I looked a little bit at the plot and it looks like there's something about like a religious sect being involved in this, in this part of the game and this part of the TV show too, like the one that's coming out.
00:44:18
Speaker
So I thought that was interesting because maybe that ties to the dove.
00:44:21
Speaker
And then like the Lotus blooms from mud.
00:44:26
Speaker
Like there was a lot of, there was a lot of like symbolism with the main character.
00:44:32
Speaker
I don't even know her name.
00:44:33
Speaker
Cause I'm so not into the last of us, but like the, the series or the game ending with like new beginnings and things like that.
00:44:44
Speaker
So I don't know.
00:44:45
Speaker
I feel like I'm,
00:44:47
Speaker
I feel like I'm kind of wishing this to make sense because I want any of my speculation to be correct.
00:44:53
Speaker
I could care less.
00:44:55
Speaker
You just want to be right.
00:44:57
Speaker
I just want to be right.
00:44:58
Speaker
And I feel like all of those things kind of fit.
00:45:02
Speaker
Yeah.
00:45:02
Speaker
And I mean, season two is coming out this year too.
00:45:05
Speaker
So that would make a lot of sense.
00:45:07
Speaker
The only thing that gives me pause is that it's not at both.
00:45:10
Speaker
That's yeah.
00:45:11
Speaker
It's weird that it wouldn't be at both.
00:45:13
Speaker
And it's, um,
00:45:15
Speaker
Yeah, because it is a pretty big IP.
00:45:17
Speaker
Did they have the first Last of Us at both coasts?
00:45:20
Speaker
I believe so.
00:45:21
Speaker
Yeah, I think so.
00:45:23
Speaker
That's the one thing.
00:45:24
Speaker
But they also have IPs that are not at both.
00:45:26
Speaker
Like last year, The Weeknd and Texas Chainsaw Massacre were both in Hollywood and not in Orlando.
00:45:32
Speaker
That's true.
00:45:33
Speaker
Sometimes they move year to year.
00:45:35
Speaker
My question is just how popular was the Last of Us house previously?
00:45:40
Speaker
I felt like it was a little bit of a dud.
00:45:41
Speaker
I'm also not a Last of Us person, so maybe my perception is just skewed.
00:45:47
Speaker
I feel like it always had a long line.
00:45:49
Speaker
That's why we missed it last year.
00:45:51
Speaker
We didn't even go to that house because it was 1 in the morning and the line was still two hours long.
00:45:56
Speaker
we didn't go through it i'm just like not a zombie person like that's not like my favorite i feel like it's like a little bit overdone but i definitely think that there are people that are drawn to that ip yeah there was definitely a lot of fans of it that year for sure i guess yeah i had a solid walkthrough and i i enjoyed it but i know nothing about it so but i had a great walkthrough yeah it's it's interesting because that house was in the parade building that they would i mean i guess they move stuff all the time but for it to be
00:46:26
Speaker
then in a sound stage is interesting.
00:46:30
Speaker
I don't know.
00:46:31
Speaker
Also like these code names, like thinking back to last year, like they really have like such minute connection to the house that like even this close of a connection makes me think that it's, it's not actually like,
00:46:46
Speaker
really what it is, but who knows?
00:46:49
Speaker
It's fun to speculate and that's what I live for.
00:46:52
Speaker
Let me live.
00:46:53
Speaker
I know the marketing people that do these code names just love hearing the speculation and throwing people off.
00:46:59
Speaker
Oh, for sure.
00:47:00
Speaker
They love it.
00:47:01
Speaker
Okay.
00:47:04
Speaker
Next one, 23B.
00:47:06
Speaker
Um, this is noted to be on both of the maps.
00:47:09
Speaker
So both HHN, Orlando and Hollywood.
00:47:11
Speaker
And it was like a beard that looks like a Santa beard.
00:47:15
Speaker
And because this was released on Christmas, a lot of the symbols kind of had like a Christmassy relation.
00:47:19
Speaker
So I don't know if it's specifically a Santa beard, but definitely like a beard.
00:47:24
Speaker
Um, and the code name for this house is violet, which symbolism wise means modesty, innocence, faith, and love.
00:47:35
Speaker
Um, um,
00:47:36
Speaker
So there's a lot of talk about the terrifier movie coming to HHN.
00:47:42
Speaker
And a lot of people are speculating that this is what this is referring to, or at least the Santa beard is referring to the terrifier because I guess in the most recent movie, I haven't seen any of them.
00:47:53
Speaker
I know that they're like, they're disgusting and gory, but he was dressed up as Santa at some point in the movie.
00:48:00
Speaker
I have to watch these movies cause I feel like I'll like them.
00:48:03
Speaker
Oh, I don't know if you will.
00:48:04
Speaker
There are a lot.
00:48:05
Speaker
Yeah.
00:48:07
Speaker
They're extreme.
00:48:08
Speaker
Yeah.
00:48:09
Speaker
But I do think Violet, I don't think Violet has, I don't think the flower, the symbolism of it has anything to do with it.
00:48:16
Speaker
I think Violet, violent.
00:48:19
Speaker
I think that's what they're going with when it comes to that.
00:48:22
Speaker
Cause the movie is very, very, very violent.
00:48:25
Speaker
I had that thought too.
00:48:27
Speaker
I literally made a note that says possibly a mismatch with the spec map.
00:48:31
Speaker
It would make more sense for,
00:48:33
Speaker
the santa beard to match up with like if we're going with christmas theme to to be matched up with either poinsettia which is another code name or daisy because he wears those daisy glasses that's like yeah so i feel like unless you're right about the violet being violent i feel like maybe this is just a mislocation on the spec map it could be it could be
00:48:55
Speaker
That will definitely be an interesting house if we get that.
00:48:58
Speaker
I do think it's going to happen.
00:48:59
Speaker
It's been very popular.
00:49:02
Speaker
And there's three movies that they can work with.
00:49:04
Speaker
So they can either just use the IP and do whatever they want with it, like they did with... Which movie was it?
00:49:11
Speaker
Insidious.
00:49:12
Speaker
Insidious, yeah.
00:49:13
Speaker
So Insidious, they did that.
00:49:14
Speaker
They could just use the Terrifier character and do that.
00:49:19
Speaker
Do whatever they want with that.
00:49:20
Speaker
Or they have three movies to work with.
00:49:22
Speaker
So they could base it off of all three if they want to.
00:49:25
Speaker
I feel like them doing similar to what they did with Insidious with using like just a theme from the movie is maybe how they get by it being so gory.
00:49:38
Speaker
Yeah.
00:49:38
Speaker
Like,
00:49:39
Speaker
instead of having like specific scenes from the movie, because I haven't seen it, but I know what happens with the situation with the upside down girl.
00:49:50
Speaker
So I don't know that they could like ever have that kind of stuff.
00:49:53
Speaker
I mean, they have some pretty nasty stuff at HHN sometimes, but this is like next level.
00:49:58
Speaker
But I feel like they would do it.
00:50:01
Speaker
You think so?
00:50:01
Speaker
Because I feel like when it comes to that movie, everyone talks about that scene.
00:50:06
Speaker
And I feel like if they didn't have it, I feel like the hardcore fans that would go for that would like be disappointed.
00:50:12
Speaker
So I don't know.
00:50:13
Speaker
They might pull the trigger and do something crazy with that.
00:50:16
Speaker
It's interesting.
00:50:16
Speaker
It's a very like, it started as a very like niche movie, I feel, but now it's just like, I hear people talking about it in the horror community, like all the time.

Terrifier and Stranger Things Speculation for HHN

00:50:24
Speaker
And there's this other account, um, legacy, or I guess it's like a person goes by legacy.
00:50:30
Speaker
He definitely like has insider information and leaks from somewhere.
00:50:35
Speaker
And he's like anonymous and he has pretty much confirmed that terrifiers coming in this, this person, this legacy person,
00:50:42
Speaker
thing is like usually pretty spot on so that's interesting yeah and i feel like as an ip this might be a less expensive one to go with for universal because like you said i mean it's a it was a smaller thing before like the film itself and it's i think it's still independent i don't think it's like part of a big like production so i mean that would be a smart choice on their end
00:51:07
Speaker
Cool.
00:51:07
Speaker
I'm about to watch these movies.
00:51:09
Speaker
Have fun with that.
00:51:10
Speaker
Do you guys want to watch it when you come visit?
00:51:13
Speaker
Oh, God.
00:51:14
Speaker
Have fun with that.
00:51:17
Speaker
We could.
00:51:18
Speaker
After the kids go to bed.
00:51:20
Speaker
Spooky.
00:51:24
Speaker
I need to hear all of your thoughts.
00:51:29
Speaker
We'll start preparing now.
00:51:30
Speaker
We've got a head here on our homework.
00:51:32
Speaker
Okay.
00:51:36
Speaker
Okay, so 24A is a big mystery.
00:51:39
Speaker
It doesn't exist on either the spec map or in โ€“ and it doesn't have a permit, so who knows.
00:51:45
Speaker
But 24B, it was a question mark on the โ€“ so on the spec map, he had a bunch of presents, which I think just means that it's still, like, under wraps or, like, not being revealed yet or not known.
00:51:59
Speaker
So that one we don't have anything.
00:52:01
Speaker
And then the code name we have for it is Lily.
00:52:04
Speaker
Lily.
00:52:05
Speaker
which lilies are used a lot during funerals.
00:52:09
Speaker
And then I also found that they can represent purity, fertility and divine presence, spirituality.
00:52:18
Speaker
Um, yeah, not a lot to like get, get from that unless you guys thought of anything with Lily.
00:52:22
Speaker
I do have something with that.
00:52:24
Speaker
So, cause I saw on your sheet here, you put, um, vampire.
00:52:29
Speaker
Yeah.
00:52:29
Speaker
On one of the notes.
00:52:30
Speaker
So I don't know if this would be the case, but it's possible.
00:52:34
Speaker
Um,
00:52:35
Speaker
So Nosferatu came out recently.
00:52:38
Speaker
That movie came out.
00:52:40
Speaker
Lead actress, is it Lily Rose Depp?
00:52:43
Speaker
What if Lily is literally just her name?
00:52:45
Speaker
Like it could be that.
00:52:48
Speaker
That's very possible.
00:52:49
Speaker
I think what kind of takes me back with that is that I don't see them doing Nosferatu when Dracula is their property.
00:52:57
Speaker
Yeah.
00:52:58
Speaker
So that's the only thing that I'm kind of unsure of, but I think it's, I think it's possible.
00:53:03
Speaker
They love, they love a Dracula's daughter moment.
00:53:06
Speaker
Like they had Dracula's daughter in their monster's house this year.
00:53:10
Speaker
So I wonder if that's going to be like their monster's house.
00:53:13
Speaker
I would be surprised that it'd be up on a soundstage up there.
00:53:16
Speaker
They haven't done that for a while, but I don't know if it'll be like their spin on a monster's house for this year.
00:53:21
Speaker
I don't know.
00:53:24
Speaker
That's kind of what I thought when I thought vampire.
00:53:27
Speaker
Yeah, I know they might be, I don't know if they're going to be doing the monsters because of Epic Universe.
00:53:35
Speaker
Yeah.
00:53:35
Speaker
Having their own land.
00:53:36
Speaker
So I don't know if that's, if they're going to stick to that or if this last one was the last, you know, monsters house.
00:53:42
Speaker
We will see.
00:53:43
Speaker
We also like do not at all know the breakdown of how many IPs versus original houses there are.
00:53:49
Speaker
They in the past had done even splits.
00:53:52
Speaker
Yeah.
00:53:55
Speaker
We have no idea though.
00:53:56
Speaker
Last year was a shocker.
00:53:57
Speaker
I think we only had, what, like three or four IPs?
00:54:01
Speaker
If you count monsters, it was four, but like three of the main... Yeah.
00:54:05
Speaker
Ghostbusters, Insidious, and Quiet Place.
00:54:08
Speaker
That's four originals.
00:54:10
Speaker
So who knows?
00:54:11
Speaker
Yeah.
00:54:11
Speaker
It's easier to speculate about IPs, obviously, because they could make an original out of literally anything.
00:54:16
Speaker
Okay, last soundstage.
00:54:18
Speaker
This 25 was not on the spec map, and the codename is Poinsettia, which has...
00:54:27
Speaker
A lot of, like it's present a lot in Latin American culture, but also around Christmas time and also symbolizes community.
00:54:37
Speaker
But poinsettias are also poisonous.
00:54:42
Speaker
So I got nothing unless this has to do with the Santa beard and it's just mismatched.
00:54:48
Speaker
Or maybe there's another like cultural house, like how we had, we've had chupacabras and we've had, what was this year?
00:54:56
Speaker
Monstrous.
00:54:58
Speaker
Yeah.
00:54:58
Speaker
Monstrous.
00:54:59
Speaker
I mean, it could be a spinoff of the, that section of, um, slaughter cinema.
00:55:06
Speaker
Keller Kringle.
00:55:06
Speaker
Yeah.
00:55:09
Speaker
I kind of doubt they would do that if they're also doing terrifier though, if there's like a Santa element to that, a little too aligned.
00:55:15
Speaker
Yeah.
00:55:18
Speaker
Well, not too much.
00:55:19
Speaker
The whole theme wasn't Santa.
00:55:21
Speaker
I mean, it was literally just like the opening scene of one of the movies.
00:55:25
Speaker
Like the promo and everything was Christmas, but the movie itself, like it didn't really have much to do with Christmas.
00:55:29
Speaker
So they might do it and just have like Santa terrifier in the house.
00:55:34
Speaker
and yeah the other thing is though I don't know I just feel like one of the slot of cinema spinoffs wouldn't go into a soundstage that seems like a tent situation yeah that does and it feels like I don't know if they would do it immediately following the year I mean I guess they could yeah I mean yeah the first thing I think of is Christmas point set up but that's probably too obvious like you said it might be like more of the poisonous route that they're thinking of yeah
00:56:04
Speaker
Yeah.
00:56:06
Speaker
That seems to me like it's going to be not an IP.
00:56:10
Speaker
Yeah, that one screams original concept.
00:56:13
Speaker
Because we've already got a bunch of IP speculation in some of these other soundstages, and it's usually not every single soundstage.
00:56:19
Speaker
There's usually at least one soundstage that has an original.
00:56:24
Speaker
Yeah.
00:56:24
Speaker
Yeah.
00:56:25
Speaker
I agree.
00:56:27
Speaker
And there's still more that I think lend to IPs, too, that we haven't gotten to yet.
00:56:33
Speaker
Yeah.
00:56:34
Speaker
Like the next one in the Fast and Furious location, the spec map has shelves with like toys on them.
00:56:42
Speaker
So there's a picture of a doll, a rabbit, like a dice or a domino, and then like letter blocks, like an A, B, and C block.
00:56:50
Speaker
And this is in both spec maps, so Hollywood 2.
00:56:54
Speaker
And the code name is Jasmine.
00:56:56
Speaker
Jasmine.
00:56:58
Speaker
I don't know how the Jasmine really fits in necessarily.
00:57:01
Speaker
It's supposed to symbolize spiritual awakening, peace and tranquility.
00:57:05
Speaker
But I feel like this is our closest, at least with the symbol.
00:57:08
Speaker
I feel like this is where we're getting our Blumhouse double feature, whether the location is correct or not, because, and maybe this is too easy, but with the doll sitting there, just, it just screams Megan to me.
00:57:18
Speaker
And then I know that the yellow rabbit is like a big thing in five nights at Freddy's.
00:57:24
Speaker
I don't know if that would be like what they would pair it with.
00:57:27
Speaker
but that's kind of what I speculated based on what we have
00:57:31
Speaker
Yeah, they definitely have been building up to a Megan house of some sort because they had the... Was it like a horde last year?
00:57:41
Speaker
Because it wasn't a scare zone.
00:57:42
Speaker
So they had the whole dancing horde.
00:57:44
Speaker
And then last year, she had her own little section in the Blumhouse scare zone.
00:57:49
Speaker
And it was right in front of Fast and Furious.
00:57:51
Speaker
So it's possible.
00:57:52
Speaker
Definitely very popular.
00:57:53
Speaker
Definitely of anything I saw photos of from that Blumhouse zone, it was her.
00:57:59
Speaker
It was her all the time.
00:58:00
Speaker
Yeah.
00:58:01
Speaker
But then I feel like Five Nights at Freddy's is such a big property, I don't see them sharing that with another one.
00:58:10
Speaker
Because I remember last year seeing a lot of speculation, like a lot of demand for that.
00:58:14
Speaker
Yeah.
00:58:15
Speaker
And I wonder if they would pair it like that.
00:58:20
Speaker
Interesting.
00:58:21
Speaker
Yeah.
00:58:23
Speaker
The next one, now we're getting into the tents.
00:58:25
Speaker
The next one we have, because the tents aren't like in order, was tent three technically.
00:58:29
Speaker
And the only thing we have right now is the code name from the permit as Tulip, which symbolizes love and rebirth.
00:58:38
Speaker
And I have no speculation about that.
00:58:41
Speaker
No idea.
00:58:42
Speaker
That one can easily be Last of Us as well.
00:58:45
Speaker
I think the whole rebirth thing.
00:58:47
Speaker
Yeah, that's true.
00:58:48
Speaker
I feel like that won't be in a tent.
00:58:51
Speaker
Yeah.
00:58:51
Speaker
I feel like the vibe of that fits better in a tent, but maybe I'm wrong.
00:58:56
Speaker
Last of us knows.
00:58:58
Speaker
Yeah.
00:58:58
Speaker
I mean, last year, well, I guess the parade building or the float building, whatever it's called, it's not really a soundstage, but it is like a building.
00:59:05
Speaker
Yeah.
00:59:06
Speaker
Yeah.
00:59:07
Speaker
In between, I would say.
00:59:08
Speaker
Yeah.
00:59:09
Speaker
Yeah.
00:59:09
Speaker
Okay.
00:59:11
Speaker
Next one tent for the symbol.
00:59:14
Speaker
And this is at both on both maps as well was a ghosty with a string of lights.
00:59:20
Speaker
Yeah.
00:59:22
Speaker
And then the code name was Daisy, which symbolically innocence, childbirth, new beginnings, resilience, and saying goodbye.
00:59:32
Speaker
Hear me out.
00:59:34
Speaker
Stranger Things 5.
00:59:36
Speaker
I know that since this all kind of information came to be, it's like, I guess, I don't know if it's truly coming out in November, but there's information that the season is dropping in November.
00:59:48
Speaker
So I guess if that's the case, there won't be Stranger Things 5.
00:59:50
Speaker
But I just love Stranger Things so much.
00:59:52
Speaker
And the little ghosty lights, there's five little lights on the string.
00:59:56
Speaker
In the first season, there were all the Christmas lights and saying goodbye symbolically with a daisy.
01:00:01
Speaker
It's the last season.
01:00:02
Speaker
I just love it so much and I want it to happen.
01:00:03
Speaker
Do you guys agree?
01:00:04
Speaker
I mean, it might.
01:00:06
Speaker
I mean, is it, has it been confirmed for November?
01:00:10
Speaker
I don't know.
01:00:10
Speaker
Tom told me that.
01:00:11
Speaker
It hasn't been confirmed.
01:00:12
Speaker
Because I didn't hear something about that too.
01:00:13
Speaker
Yeah.
01:00:14
Speaker
They're saying like November, December.
01:00:16
Speaker
So I would be surprised if it is Stranger Things.
01:00:19
Speaker
I would love that because I love Stranger Things.
01:00:22
Speaker
I just don't see how they could put the house out before the show comes out.
01:00:27
Speaker
And it would also be wild to be in that location because that was where like monsters and goblins were.
01:00:36
Speaker
Yeah.
01:00:38
Speaker
But you never know because... Oh wait, never mind.
01:00:43
Speaker
The first two were actually in sound stages, so I don't see them going into a tent.
01:00:48
Speaker
Yeah.
01:00:49
Speaker
But also, do we really know that these are affiliated?
01:00:52
Speaker
Because the spec map has flipped building.
01:00:56
Speaker
It's very possible.
01:00:58
Speaker
So, like, actually, we're matching the spec map, like, pictures with the code name.
01:01:06
Speaker
And some of those might not even match either.
01:01:08
Speaker
Yeah.
01:01:10
Speaker
Which is hilarious.
01:01:11
Speaker
That is probably the case.
01:01:12
Speaker
Yeah.
01:01:14
Speaker
Like, some of these are going to move around.
01:01:15
Speaker
And we're going to be like, oh, that's how these two things fit together.
01:01:20
Speaker
And there's always the chance that they were planning on Stranger Things, but because of the strike and whatever else delayed it.
01:01:26
Speaker
Because I think the original was supposed to come out 24, right?
01:01:29
Speaker
That was what they originally said?
01:01:31
Speaker
I think so, yeah.
01:01:32
Speaker
That was the next season of the show.
01:01:33
Speaker
So maybe they were planning on it, and I don't know if they're going to have to scrap it after they realize the show wasn't coming out on time or what.
01:01:41
Speaker
But I don't know.
01:01:41
Speaker
It'll be interesting to see.
01:01:42
Speaker
I'd love to see another Stranger Things house.
01:01:45
Speaker
Yeah, that would be awesome.
01:01:48
Speaker
And it is on both.
01:01:50
Speaker
It is on both.
01:01:52
Speaker
That's definitely a bigger name one, I would think.
01:01:55
Speaker
Yeah.
01:01:56
Speaker
For sure.
01:01:58
Speaker
Okay, tent one.
01:02:00
Speaker
All we have is the codename Carnation, which symbolizes devotion, fascination, and commitment.
01:02:07
Speaker
I like how you just picked Carnival.
01:02:10
Speaker
Yeah, I was just going to say Carnival or Carnivore or Reincarnation.
01:02:20
Speaker
I love a carnival theme.
01:02:22
Speaker
Who knows?
01:02:23
Speaker
Could be an original.
01:02:25
Speaker
Isn't that also like a funeral flower or am I?
01:02:30
Speaker
Carnations.
01:02:31
Speaker
I think certain color carnations are usually used in funerals.
01:02:35
Speaker
I don't know why, like there's something else that that symbolizes, isn't it?
01:02:39
Speaker
Or am I going crazy?
01:02:41
Speaker
I don't know.
01:02:42
Speaker
I don't know why my mind went straight to the, I know it's not a carnation though.
01:02:46
Speaker
The,
01:02:47
Speaker
What's the little flower called for prom?
01:02:50
Speaker
Is it the corsage?
01:02:52
Speaker
Yeah, I was thinking about that.
01:02:54
Speaker
I was like, what if it's like a zombie prom or something?
01:02:57
Speaker
But no, it's not going to be that.
01:02:59
Speaker
I was thinking about that.
01:03:01
Speaker
What was that?
01:03:03
Speaker
Carnations are commonly used in corsages, I feel.
01:03:07
Speaker
Is it?
01:03:07
Speaker
Okay.
01:03:08
Speaker
I was actually thinking, because I started looking back at the sheet here, and I was thinking about the vamp.
01:03:15
Speaker
thing we did have the vamp what was it 85 vamp oh yeah like the vampires in high school yeah yeah yeah so i just went back to that right now they also utilized like the vamp in the dead coconut club this year too yeah so maybe they could be bringing back like that theme again but for prom who knows cool
01:03:43
Speaker
That would be a pretty cool concept.
01:03:46
Speaker
Yeah, that's all I got for that one.
01:03:47
Speaker
Okay.
01:03:50
Speaker
We have one more tent and all we have is the code name Iris faith, hope, wisdom, power, charm, security.
01:03:59
Speaker
And I have nothing for that.
01:04:02
Speaker
Iris.
01:04:04
Speaker
Yeah, that one's Iris is like, uh, also like a Greek thing, isn't it?
01:04:10
Speaker
Is that a Greek God, like Greek mythology?
01:04:15
Speaker
Google.
01:04:17
Speaker
Yes.
01:04:18
Speaker
She's, oh, well, this is not very spooky.
01:04:20
Speaker
The goddess of the rainbow and the messenger for the gods.
01:04:23
Speaker
Okay.
01:04:24
Speaker
Probably not that.
01:04:27
Speaker
But the other thing I thought of is like eyeball, like your iris in your eye.
01:04:31
Speaker
Yeah.
01:04:31
Speaker
If you're misinterpreting it as not a flower.
01:04:34
Speaker
I wonder if that could be.
01:04:36
Speaker
I don't know.
01:04:37
Speaker
Yeah.
01:04:39
Speaker
I don't know.
01:04:40
Speaker
Who knows?
01:04:41
Speaker
Honestly, looking at all of these, like with the exception of
01:04:44
Speaker
the potential Blumhouse house and, uh, and a terrifier house.
01:04:49
Speaker
I think this could, this could be a very like original heavy year again.
01:04:54
Speaker
I think it might be.
01:04:56
Speaker
It could be.
01:04:57
Speaker
It's way harder to speculate on those two.
01:05:00
Speaker
Yeah.
01:05:01
Speaker
Is there a point?
01:05:01
Speaker
Cause I haven't, I didn't follow this as closely last year.
01:05:04
Speaker
Is there a point on the spec maps where we become aware of that if it's original or IP?
01:05:08
Speaker
Yeah.
01:05:09
Speaker
Or is it always just a symbol?
01:05:11
Speaker
Usually you can like, you can start to tell like when it's like when the symbol becomes clear and eventually he like puts the name of what it is.
01:05:20
Speaker
Okay.
01:05:21
Speaker
Okay.
01:05:22
Speaker
Yeah.
01:05:23
Speaker
So it's mostly other people like that are doing this speculation of what kind of house it is and all that.
01:05:28
Speaker
Yeah.
01:05:29
Speaker
As they get closer, they'll start to put like the actual, like Kelly said, like you'll have like the name of whatever property it is.
01:05:36
Speaker
Mm-hmm.
01:05:37
Speaker
interesting i wonder when the next one will come hopefully soon like i feel like last year it was like march or april was like the first version but it was a little bit more complete even than this early version this is like very bare bones like the most bare bones i've ever seen any of the spec maps so it was really early really early when do we actually get confirmation from universal about the first house
01:06:00
Speaker
Normally, it depends.
01:06:02
Speaker
I feel like in the spring, they tend to release one, but I think last year, when was the first house announced last year?
01:06:11
Speaker
The first house they announced last year was Slaughter Cinema 2.
01:06:15
Speaker
And that was like in early summer, I think.
01:06:18
Speaker
Like it was a pretty long wait.
01:06:20
Speaker
And then they had that week where they just dropped all of them.
01:06:22
Speaker
It was like this original, this original, this original.
01:06:25
Speaker
But the year before, they released Chucky like very early on.
01:06:29
Speaker
Yeah.
01:06:31
Speaker
It's never the same.
01:06:32
Speaker
I mean, some years like they'll start very early.
01:06:35
Speaker
Some years they'll start in the summer.
01:06:38
Speaker
So I don't know.
01:06:40
Speaker
Like once tickets go on sale, that's when you start to get most of your announcements.
01:06:45
Speaker
I can't wait.
01:06:46
Speaker
Yes.
01:06:47
Speaker
Cannot wait.
01:06:49
Speaker
We did get confirmation of the of the dates.
01:06:53
Speaker
So August through November, similar weekends as this past year.
01:06:57
Speaker
So going into Labor Day weekend and then the weekend following Halloween.
01:07:01
Speaker
This is the last weekend.
01:07:03
Speaker
That's wild.
01:07:04
Speaker
I'm excited for that.
01:07:04
Speaker
It's a long time.
01:07:06
Speaker
Oh, yeah.
01:07:07
Speaker
We definitely all need to plan a weekend to be down there together.
01:07:11
Speaker
Yes.
01:07:11
Speaker
For sure.
01:07:14
Speaker
Definitely.
01:07:15
Speaker
I'm kind of curious.
01:07:16
Speaker
Like I feel like we, well, the first year that we all went, it was kind of mid season, wasn't it?
01:07:23
Speaker
Cause it was like early October.
01:07:25
Speaker
October.
01:07:26
Speaker
Yeah.
01:07:26
Speaker
Early October.
01:07:27
Speaker
And last year we went at the very end.
01:07:30
Speaker
Kind of curious, like how different it is depending on when you go.
01:07:34
Speaker
I would love to try to go more than once this year.
01:07:36
Speaker
I don't know if I can with like the fall schedule being very busy and
01:07:41
Speaker
I might have to go by myself one time.
01:07:45
Speaker
Shane and I always get the Rush of Fear pass, so you let us know and we'll meet up with you.
01:07:51
Speaker
I'll probably have Rush of Fear too.
01:07:53
Speaker
Yeah, that's handy.
01:07:55
Speaker
I think I went three times last year.
01:07:57
Speaker
Or not the Rush of Fear, the Frequent Fear.

Year-Round Spooky Attractions and Cultural Influences

01:08:03
Speaker
I might look into it.
01:08:04
Speaker
It's pretty easy for us to get to it from Orlando from here.
01:08:07
Speaker
It's definitely a good deal.
01:08:11
Speaker
You get a matchup.
01:08:12
Speaker
That's the way to do it.
01:08:13
Speaker
Cause then we can like, now I'm getting into trip planning.
01:08:20
Speaker
Travel agent engaged.
01:08:23
Speaker
All right.
01:08:23
Speaker
Anything else for HHN?
01:08:26
Speaker
I don't think so.
01:08:29
Speaker
I don't think so.
01:08:30
Speaker
I think that's all I got for now.
01:08:31
Speaker
Kelly, are you going to be right?
01:08:35
Speaker
I'm so excited to see how this evolves.
01:08:37
Speaker
Yes.
01:08:37
Speaker
And then we have to go back and see what our original.
01:08:40
Speaker
Yeah.
01:08:43
Speaker
All right.
01:08:44
Speaker
We have some questions tonight.
01:08:47
Speaker
First question is going to be from Tim with the Malort.
01:08:51
Speaker
What holidays or other types of events do you think parks don't take advantage of yet?
01:08:57
Speaker
I'm going to say St.
01:08:59
Speaker
Patrick's Day.
01:09:00
Speaker
So I know sometimes like Busch Gardens Williamsburg did like a one day St.
01:09:04
Speaker
Patrick's Day thing, but I don't know.
01:09:06
Speaker
I feel like you can certainly boost alcohol sales and put up some green decorations and make that like a two week holiday.
01:09:13
Speaker
So I feel like I'd like to see.
01:09:15
Speaker
It's very ginger of you.
01:09:17
Speaker
It is true.
01:09:19
Speaker
Very ginger, very Virginian of me talking about Busch Gardens Williamsburg, but I'm going to support my people.
01:09:25
Speaker
Yeah.
01:09:27
Speaker
Shout out.
01:09:28
Speaker
I'm going across the pond, Dublin.
01:09:30
Speaker
Really easy to like, especially since it has its own food, like it, it blends itself really well to that.
01:09:37
Speaker
Yeah.
01:09:38
Speaker
Drink sales would be insane.
01:09:39
Speaker
So I think that that's like a lost opportunity.
01:09:41
Speaker
And that's always a big profit from the park.
01:09:44
Speaker
So they're looking definitely to do that.
01:09:47
Speaker
I know that some parks have kind of maybe gotten a little bit into like Cinco de Mayo stuff, but not too much.
01:09:54
Speaker
That could be interesting too.
01:09:55
Speaker
I feel like that's good food and,
01:09:57
Speaker
fun decor potentially does universal do that or am i crazy i don't think so no they they don't they i know that they tend to have like um i think during the summertime they have like these international like food booths around the park and then you'll have like mexican food in there as well as like other countries that's probably the closest that you'll get to that but i don't think they do anything for cinco de mayo yeah kelly
01:10:27
Speaker
Yeah, I don't really have any great ideas for other holidays that are not represented by park events.
01:10:33
Speaker
I feel like I'm... This is going to be a shocking answer, but I feel like parks could do well with having one or two year-round spooky mazes.
01:10:45
Speaker
It's obviously not the vibe out of season, but I don't know.
01:10:51
Speaker
I feel like
01:10:53
Speaker
What made me think of this is there's a local hunt down in Florida called Sir Henry's.
01:10:58
Speaker
I don't know if you've heard of it.
01:11:00
Speaker
Yeah.
01:11:00
Speaker
So they do, they do like a Halloween thing, but they also have like a spooky Christmas maze and they're doing a spooky Valentine's day maze.
01:11:08
Speaker
Like I would love to see spookiness represented throughout the year.
01:11:14
Speaker
Yeah.
01:11:16
Speaker
People love it.
01:11:16
Speaker
So people have fun with it.
01:11:18
Speaker
So just make it themed to whatever time we're in.
01:11:20
Speaker
That seems to be something they do more in Europe.
01:11:24
Speaker
Because Tibidabo had a year-round maze.
01:11:29
Speaker
I know that some other park did, and I can't think of what it is right now.
01:11:33
Speaker
But there's definitely a few over there that do that compared to here.
01:11:36
Speaker
I'm not sure.
01:11:37
Speaker
I can't think of any U.S. parks that have a year-round maze.
01:11:40
Speaker
They've experimented a little bit with the Scream Break, some of the Six Flags parks.
01:11:45
Speaker
That's true.
01:11:47
Speaker
Yeah.
01:11:47
Speaker
It didn't seem to go very well.
01:11:48
Speaker
Because they discontinued it, right?
01:11:52
Speaker
I haven't seen it come back.
01:11:54
Speaker
Uh, did they do it last year?
01:11:56
Speaker
I'm trying to think if great adventure.
01:11:57
Speaker
I know he has to Texas had it.
01:11:59
Speaker
Cause I remember Jeff Siebert, like putting it out on social media over Georgia years ago, but I don't remember it happening last year.
01:12:07
Speaker
I did one of the houses for, it was one of our stumbles.
01:12:12
Speaker
We were down in Fiesta, Texas, and I did one of the houses.
01:12:17
Speaker
I don't remember much about it.
01:12:18
Speaker
I do remember there being absolutely no line whatsoever.
01:12:20
Speaker
So yeah, I would say it probably didn't go that well.
01:12:26
Speaker
I think it's tough as an event out of season, like multiple houses, but having one that's sort of integrated into the park makes a lot of sense.
01:12:36
Speaker
Um, yeah, cause that feels different.
01:12:38
Speaker
I don't know.
01:12:40
Speaker
I'm interested.
01:12:42
Speaker
It was built into the environment and kind of themed to fit in.
01:12:49
Speaker
And then obviously it was staffed with scare actors and like special effects and everything, but it just runs all year.
01:12:54
Speaker
Um,
01:12:55
Speaker
And that feels more built into the park, I guess.
01:12:58
Speaker
I don't know.
01:13:00
Speaker
As opposed to kind of the temporary nature of some of those six flags mazes.
01:13:06
Speaker
Right.
01:13:07
Speaker
I think if you do it, it's, it's do it that way.
01:13:09
Speaker
Right.
01:13:10
Speaker
Like build something a little more robust because the one at Tibidabo had like stairs and,
01:13:16
Speaker
it felt very much like a real house that they built that you were walking through.
01:13:21
Speaker
And that makes it more of a, an attraction, like a high, highly themed, almost HHN level experience, as opposed to kind of like the temporary black walls that sometimes they set up for that.
01:13:34
Speaker
Yeah.
01:13:35
Speaker
And there's definitely like spooky areas and spooky like rides at parks.
01:13:40
Speaker
So I feel like it could just kind of, yeah.
01:13:43
Speaker
Yeah.
01:13:44
Speaker
Well, Maury's has the year-round the ghost trip, right?
01:13:49
Speaker
That was the first thing that came to my mind.
01:13:51
Speaker
And that's, like you were saying, Joey, it's kind of built into the atmosphere of the park.
01:13:55
Speaker
It's more permanent.
01:13:56
Speaker
It feels like it belongs there rather than just something set up in a tent off to the side.
01:14:02
Speaker
So I'd love to see more things like that.
01:14:05
Speaker
And I'm also interested to see how the one that's coming to Las Vegas will do.
01:14:10
Speaker
Yeah.
01:14:13
Speaker
I'm excited for that one.
01:14:14
Speaker
Yeah, if anything's going to get me to Vegas, it's that

Changing IPs in Las Vegas and HHN Decade-Themed Houses

01:14:17
Speaker
for sure.
01:14:17
Speaker
Yeah.
01:14:19
Speaker
I feel like that's going to be pretty successful.
01:14:21
Speaker
I think so too.
01:14:23
Speaker
Yeah.
01:14:24
Speaker
And the IPs that they have going on there, I don't see it failing.
01:14:28
Speaker
I'm curious to see how often they're going to change it out.
01:14:32
Speaker
Because just given the nature of Vegas, I mean, I guess there are people that go every year, but you kind of have a little bit more of a cyclical nature to that.
01:14:40
Speaker
It might not be like an every year situation, but if they do a refresh every three years, I think at least that.
01:14:46
Speaker
I hope they do it that frequently.
01:14:49
Speaker
Yeah.
01:14:50
Speaker
I could see them taking a little bit longer, though.
01:14:53
Speaker
I hope not.
01:14:54
Speaker
Yeah.
01:14:55
Speaker
But the thing is, if you have a, so many of the IPs for HHN are of the moment, you know, the season came out that year, the movie came out that year.
01:15:02
Speaker
And if you were to do it, like, and keep it around forever, people would be like, why is it still here?
01:15:07
Speaker
Yeah.
01:15:08
Speaker
And Universal isn't usually the kind to do that kind of thing.
01:15:10
Speaker
So who knows?
01:15:11
Speaker
I don't know.
01:15:11
Speaker
We'll see.
01:15:13
Speaker
All right.
01:15:14
Speaker
Next question.
01:15:15
Speaker
CPRED, with the success of the Decades Party, which we did at one of our stumbles, you're tasked with coming up with decade-themed houses for HHN.
01:15:25
Speaker
Starting with the 70s and going up to the current decade, what are the houses you are coming up with to represent each decade or which IPs would you use for your house?
01:15:34
Speaker
It's a good question.
01:15:37
Speaker
Really good question.
01:15:40
Speaker
Required probably more prep.
01:15:43
Speaker
Yeah, so I'll go through my list because I did look at this question prior.
01:15:46
Speaker
I got excited about it.
01:15:48
Speaker
But OK, so 1970s, I was looking at I thought about Jaws being an IP, especially now that we saw how they did Blood and Chum in Slaughter Cinema 2.
01:16:00
Speaker
Like, if they were able to have that cool animatronic there, that would be amazing.
01:16:08
Speaker
And then, yeah, did you guys have anything for the 70s?
01:16:12
Speaker
No.
01:16:13
Speaker
Google 70s movies.
01:16:14
Speaker
I don't have anything for anything.
01:16:15
Speaker
I have one IP that I wish would be a house and that's all I thought of.
01:16:18
Speaker
But I'm Googling right now.
01:16:19
Speaker
So you keep going.
01:16:20
Speaker
Let's see.
01:16:21
Speaker
So, okay.
01:16:21
Speaker
Also in the 70s, I did notice that they had The Hills Have Eyes, which I'm surprised that Universal hasn't done that yet.
01:16:27
Speaker
I feel like that would be a very creepy house.
01:16:31
Speaker
Yeah.
01:16:31
Speaker
I didn't know that was a lot old, honestly.
01:16:33
Speaker
Yeah.
01:16:33
Speaker
The original one, it was in the 70s.
01:16:35
Speaker
I had no idea.
01:16:36
Speaker
I've only seen the remake that came out like, what, early 2000s?
01:16:39
Speaker
But...
01:16:41
Speaker
Have they ever done Rocky Horror Maze?
01:16:46
Speaker
Because they had the show.
01:16:47
Speaker
They did have the show.
01:16:49
Speaker
But have they ever done that as a maze?
01:16:50
Speaker
Because that could be more of a campy one.
01:16:53
Speaker
That could be kind of fun and ridiculous.
01:16:54
Speaker
That would be fun.
01:16:56
Speaker
I don't think they've ever done it.
01:16:58
Speaker
Okay, I think that would be a good one.
01:17:01
Speaker
Yeah, and then for the 80s, I was thinking something campy, like something along the lines of Friday the 13th.
01:17:10
Speaker
Doesn't necessarily have to be Friday the 13th.
01:17:12
Speaker
I feel like campy slasher is very, you can do an original concept with that.
01:17:16
Speaker
So I would probably go with something like that.
01:17:19
Speaker
or to create a house of some sort when it comes to the 80s.
01:17:22
Speaker
And then, oh wait, did you guys have anything for the 80s?
01:17:25
Speaker
I was just going to say I would do an original that's just kind of mashup of disco.
01:17:34
Speaker
And it could either be a slasher or like a zombie or some kind of weird disco, you know, something goes wrong.
01:17:40
Speaker
But like it starts out normal.
01:17:43
Speaker
You know, you walk into like an actual party happening and then all of a sudden something goes wrong.
01:17:48
Speaker
My mind goes straight to the weekend house when you mention that.
01:17:51
Speaker
Yeah, yeah.
01:17:53
Speaker
But I think it would be really hilarious if the last scene is like a jump scare, Rick Astley, like Rick Roll.
01:18:03
Speaker
Just like really loud.
01:18:05
Speaker
Never going to give you up.
01:18:07
Speaker
Yes.
01:18:12
Speaker
I feel like 80s to me, the vibe is like all of the like high school based movies.
01:18:17
Speaker
And we were talking about like prom before.
01:18:19
Speaker
Like, I feel like that's the vibe I think of when I think of 80s.
01:18:22
Speaker
So maybe like an original around that, like some.
01:18:25
Speaker
some ish going down.
01:18:27
Speaker
Yeah.
01:18:28
Speaker
At a prom.
01:18:28
Speaker
That's exactly what I, why do we think of that when we think of eighties?
01:18:31
Speaker
But I mean, Stranger Things, none of us were alive.
01:18:35
Speaker
We don't actually know.
01:18:36
Speaker
Stranger Things already kind of hits that vibe a little bit, but I'd love to see that expanded.
01:18:45
Speaker
Yeah, and then next would be 90s, which I went with Scream.
01:18:50
Speaker
I feel like we have not had, well, we haven't had Scream yet.
01:18:54
Speaker
And I know that it was a project that, it was a house that they scrapped at the last minute at HHN a couple years ago.
01:19:03
Speaker
So I would love to see them bring that because I feel like that's like a classic.
01:19:07
Speaker
So and I feel like especially now where 90s and 2000s is so trendy, like with the younger generations, I feel like that would be like perfect.
01:19:15
Speaker
And we have the newer Scream movies, too.
01:19:17
Speaker
So that would be great.
01:19:20
Speaker
For me, 90s.
01:19:21
Speaker
I love Silence of the Lambs.
01:19:23
Speaker
That too.
01:19:24
Speaker
That's what I was going to say.
01:19:26
Speaker
I was thinking about that one.
01:19:28
Speaker
Has HHN not done that?
01:19:31
Speaker
No, I don't think so.
01:19:32
Speaker
That seems like an obvious one.
01:19:33
Speaker
Interesting.
01:19:35
Speaker
I was thinking, this is so random.
01:19:37
Speaker
When I think about 90s, I think of the boxy computers, and then my brain went from there to office space.
01:19:48
Speaker
which is not a horror film.
01:19:50
Speaker
I mean, it's kind of a dark comedy, but I feel like you could make a maze out of that somehow where it's like an office gone wrong.
01:19:59
Speaker
I don't know.
01:19:59
Speaker
It's with like those old monitors and like a big printers and just, I don't know.
01:20:05
Speaker
I think that would be a really good thing.
01:20:07
Speaker
This is a little off topic, but that reminds me of the edit that somebody did that made Dwight's character into like a horror trailer.
01:20:15
Speaker
Have you guys seen that?
01:20:16
Speaker
Or you know what I'm talking about?
01:20:17
Speaker
Yes.
01:20:18
Speaker
Exactly.
01:20:20
Speaker
Mo's running through the field with horror music playing.
01:20:23
Speaker
Yeah.
01:20:24
Speaker
Incredible.
01:20:24
Speaker
There would have to be a Dwight with the cutout of the dummy face.
01:20:31
Speaker
Yeah, or the pumpkin on his head.
01:20:33
Speaker
Yeah, the pumpkin.
01:20:34
Speaker
Yeah, exactly.
01:20:37
Speaker
I looked up Silence of the Lambs, so apparently it was in one scene of a house all night dying, take two, which was from 16, HHN 16.
01:20:51
Speaker
Interesting.
01:20:53
Speaker
Was not aware of that.
01:20:54
Speaker
Yeah, me neither.
01:20:57
Speaker
It was definitely represented in our little trail of terror jaunt.
01:21:01
Speaker
That's exactly what I was going to say.
01:21:08
Speaker
Do you guys have anything else for 90s?
01:21:11
Speaker
So 2000s, I went with Jeepers Creepers because I feel like that's terrifying.
01:21:19
Speaker
I was always terrified of that movie.
01:21:20
Speaker
So I think that would be a pretty good one.
01:21:22
Speaker
How about you guys?
01:21:23
Speaker
It has to be the ring for me.
01:21:25
Speaker
I was going to go with that one as well.
01:21:26
Speaker
That one's very creepy.
01:21:28
Speaker
Yes.
01:21:29
Speaker
It's so good.
01:21:30
Speaker
Is that universal?
01:21:32
Speaker
I don't know.
01:21:33
Speaker
I don't think so.
01:21:34
Speaker
That was the first love movie I've ever watched.
01:21:37
Speaker
And that would be honestly a terrifying horror house.
01:21:40
Speaker
So we're on the same page tonight, Kelly.
01:21:46
Speaker
Pretty huge.
01:21:46
Speaker
Yeah.
01:21:48
Speaker
Yeah.
01:21:48
Speaker
I don't think it's universal.
01:21:51
Speaker
It is DreamWorks.
01:21:54
Speaker
It is DreamWorks.
01:21:54
Speaker
Yeah.
01:21:55
Speaker
Oh, one can dream.
01:21:58
Speaker
I would love a ring house.
01:21:59
Speaker
I feel like that would hit well with so many people around our age because that was our introduction to horror.
01:22:06
Speaker
A lot of people.
01:22:08
Speaker
Yeah, definitely.
01:22:09
Speaker
That, The Grudge, was really creepy too.
01:22:14
Speaker
What about the Paranormal Activity movies?
01:22:18
Speaker
Ooh, yeah.
01:22:18
Speaker
Those were pretty good.
01:22:19
Speaker
They actually had... I think it was HHN...
01:22:24
Speaker
they had I don't they had like I think it was legendary truth um that was like a whole paranormal house which I wish I would have seen it I didn't go that year um but I heard that they used a lot of like it was a lot of like props moving and like jumping in the way and all of that like I feel like I feel like that would have been pretty cool to see yeah I feel like it's a little tougher to pull off too though
01:22:48
Speaker
What was that?
01:22:49
Speaker
I feel like it's a little tougher to pull off as far as getting all those special effects right.
01:22:55
Speaker
Yeah.
01:23:04
Speaker
2010s.
01:23:06
Speaker
2010s.
01:23:08
Speaker
I'm going back to my thing.
01:23:09
Speaker
Midsommar technically came out in the 2010s.
01:23:13
Speaker
That would be interesting.
01:23:15
Speaker
That would be very interesting.
01:23:17
Speaker
So did Hereditary.
01:23:18
Speaker
That was a big one.
01:23:19
Speaker
I was going to mention that one.
01:23:21
Speaker
But I don't know.
01:23:23
Speaker
How would they?
01:23:24
Speaker
I mean, I think they could do it.
01:23:26
Speaker
I think that's something you could pull off.
01:23:29
Speaker
But that's definitely more on the psychological side.
01:23:33
Speaker
Yeah, I love that.
01:23:34
Speaker
Conjuring was big in the 2010s, which I feel like I've heard talked about with HHN before, and it really hasn't come to fruition.
01:23:41
Speaker
It also was big.
01:23:43
Speaker
Yeah.
01:23:44
Speaker
Yeah.
01:23:45
Speaker
Hereditary, the scene where she hits the pole.
01:23:48
Speaker
Oh my God, that would be terrifying.
01:23:50
Speaker
I don't know how they would do that, but.
01:23:54
Speaker
That would be insane.
01:23:59
Speaker
I'm looking at what is like the big moments of the 2010s.
01:24:03
Speaker
And one of the things on here is the ice bucket challenge.
01:24:07
Speaker
Yeah.
01:24:12
Speaker
That was a time.
01:24:13
Speaker
Also, Rebecca Black's Friday.
01:24:18
Speaker
Gaga's Meat Dress.
01:24:19
Speaker
We sing that on a lot of Fridays in this house.
01:24:23
Speaker
John Travolta calling Idina Menzel Adele Dazeem.
01:24:29
Speaker
Kony 2012.
01:24:30
Speaker
Remember that?
01:24:30
Speaker
That video gets me every single time.
01:24:34
Speaker
I'm going to watch it when we're done.
01:24:37
Speaker
Call Me Maybe.
01:24:40
Speaker
This is just the internet random nonsense.
01:24:42
Speaker
I feel like you could put all of these together and it would be bad.
01:24:45
Speaker
It would be... Bringing back so many... Just a whole 2010 smash-up house.
01:24:52
Speaker
Yeah, if you really want to scare somebody, drop a bucket of ice on them.
01:25:00
Speaker
Yikes.
01:25:03
Speaker
Oh, good question.
01:25:04
Speaker
Yeah, great question.
01:25:07
Speaker
we're still in the 2020s so we no comment yeah

Universal Fan Fest Nights Introduction

01:25:11
Speaker
yeah yeah it's happening all right um ricky wanted us to talk about the universal sorry universal fan fest nights um today was the first time i ever heard of it joey i think the page pulled up do you want to give a little bit of background on it
01:25:29
Speaker
Yeah, sure.
01:25:31
Speaker
I also, this is the first time I've heard of it.
01:25:33
Speaker
And I think this is why they wanted us to talk about it.
01:25:36
Speaker
Because there's a general lack of awareness.
01:25:38
Speaker
I think this is only an event that occurs at Universal Studios Hollywood specifically.
01:25:44
Speaker
It is not an Orlando event.
01:25:46
Speaker
But it is kind of, I guess, let me just read the sentence or the description.
01:25:51
Speaker
It says, Universal Fan Fest Nights, an all new after hours event with the fandoms you love in one place every event night.
01:25:58
Speaker
Celebrate with other fans the best of sci-fi, fantasy, gaming, and anime like never before.
01:26:04
Speaker
So it kind of reminds me of Dragon Con, which is a big event in Atlanta, which is...
01:26:11
Speaker
Kind of all of those comic book extended fantasy world convention.
01:26:18
Speaker
But this is interesting because it's specific to specific like brands, I guess.
01:26:25
Speaker
And they, there seem to be, they're calling them in world experiences.
01:26:29
Speaker
They're immersive experiences that they're going to have for Star Trek and,
01:26:33
Speaker
Back to the Future and Dungeons and Dragons.
01:26:37
Speaker
And then they're also going to have a anime show.
01:26:42
Speaker
I don't know this reference.
01:26:44
Speaker
Jujutsu Kaisen.
01:26:45
Speaker
Not even sure if I'm saying that right.
01:26:47
Speaker
And they're going to have One Piece, which is a pretty popular comic.
01:26:53
Speaker
There's also going to be some aspect of the Wizarding World, which is like advanced beyond what's normally there.
01:27:00
Speaker
It says something about encountering a Niffler, dragons, various magical creatures, and then also special Yoshi visits in Super Nintendo World.
01:27:13
Speaker
And then they are encouraging people to wear like cosplay.
01:27:18
Speaker
So as whatever character they want, they have some guidelines about what that could be.
01:27:22
Speaker
But it's very interesting.
01:27:25
Speaker
I was trying to read more about what an in-world experience means.
01:27:30
Speaker
And it's hard to tell because...
01:27:33
Speaker
Based on their description of it.
01:27:35
Speaker
But it could be very interesting, especially if it gets to the level of detail that HHN has.
01:27:41
Speaker
I feel like they could execute a very immersive environment for some of these brands that they're talking about.
01:27:48
Speaker
There's definitely going to be food and drink for each of those specific areas, which is cool.
01:27:55
Speaker
But in terms of what what exactly is immersive, it sounds like they're replicating the the Star Trek bridge.
01:28:02
Speaker
It sounds more like a kind of walkthrough slash selfie picture moment than are like a maze, obviously.
01:28:08
Speaker
But I was going to say.
01:28:11
Speaker
It's definitely an interesting idea.
01:28:12
Speaker
And those, I know that those types of conventions are really, really popular.
01:28:18
Speaker
So it seems like this is the first year of the event.
01:28:21
Speaker
I don't know.
01:28:23
Speaker
Interesting.
01:28:24
Speaker
I like that.
01:28:25
Speaker
It's actually, it looks pretty cool.
01:28:26
Speaker
I'm looking at it here too.
01:28:27
Speaker
I have a feeling that it's going to be, like you said, more of like a walkthrough kind of thing.
01:28:31
Speaker
It's probably going to be like,
01:28:34
Speaker
Like the way that they would normally make like a scare zone, they'll probably have it themed to whatever each of these properties are, but it looks pretty solid and it looks cool.
01:28:45
Speaker
Yeah, it's definitely an interesting concept.
01:28:47
Speaker
And this is April 25th through May 18th.
01:28:50
Speaker
So it's more of a spring event coming up pretty soon.
01:28:54
Speaker
Is it an after hours event or is it during regular park hours like included in your ticket?
01:28:59
Speaker
I believe it's after hours.
01:29:01
Speaker
Okay.
01:29:02
Speaker
Yeah, it says it's separately ticketed.
01:29:04
Speaker
Yeah, it says select nights.
01:29:07
Speaker
Yep, yep.
01:29:08
Speaker
It's after hours.
01:29:09
Speaker
That's not very much like HHN in that way where
01:29:12
Speaker
there'll be a shutdown and then they'll probably drag stuff out or the behind the scenes or whatever to set it up.
01:29:20
Speaker
Yeah.
01:29:20
Speaker
I'm interested to see what that's going to turn into.
01:29:23
Speaker
And it only runs weekends.
01:29:25
Speaker
Looks like Friday through Sunday.
01:29:28
Speaker
All right.
01:29:29
Speaker
Next question from show.
01:29:32
Speaker
What sort of jump scares or scenes would you expect from a buzz bars theme haunt?
01:29:38
Speaker
I have a good one.
01:29:39
Speaker
So this is one that happens.
01:29:42
Speaker
Every stumble multiple times.
01:29:44
Speaker
It's Javi coming out of nowhere and pouring me a shot that I do not want.
01:29:51
Speaker
Except I do.
01:29:54
Speaker
Yeah.
01:29:55
Speaker
Oh, that's so true.
01:29:56
Speaker
He would just be around the corner.
01:29:59
Speaker
Yeah.
01:30:00
Speaker
It's hilarious.
01:30:04
Speaker
So the answer is Javi.
01:30:06
Speaker
Javi.
01:30:07
Speaker
I also thought of like oblivious cam, which hasn't been a thing for a little while, but like in the olden days, just like turn the corner and you recognize that the camera's been filming you for a period of time.
01:30:19
Speaker
That's just scary for me.
01:30:20
Speaker
Which I believe I do still hold the record for that.
01:30:23
Speaker
Although I dispute it because Nate had a longer one, but they said he was asleep.
01:30:29
Speaker
So it doesn't count.
01:30:30
Speaker
But anyway, yes.
01:30:32
Speaker
There'll probably be a Kairi poor somewhere.
01:30:35
Speaker
Terrifying.
01:30:37
Speaker
That is pretty scary, yeah.
01:30:39
Speaker
Or like the Kairi skyline chug.
01:30:41
Speaker
That is my actual nightmares.
01:30:44
Speaker
I'm glad I did not have to witness that in person.
01:30:48
Speaker
Yeah.
01:30:49
Speaker
There's definitely like a Bethany jump scare.
01:30:51
Speaker
Hell yeah, brother.
01:30:53
Speaker
Hell yeah, brother.
01:30:54
Speaker
In that outfit, specifically.
01:30:57
Speaker
And I also, I know that Sho and Sudo are tired of the joke of them being like, yeah, the same person.
01:31:07
Speaker
But like if we had them dressed up like the Shining Girls next to each other.
01:31:13
Speaker
The other thing we could do is have all of those people that look the same and put them in one of those rooms where, you know, it's like, which one's real?
01:31:21
Speaker
Yes.
01:31:22
Speaker
Yeah.
01:31:25
Speaker
Oh my God.
01:31:29
Speaker
You can add James from Arizona to that.
01:31:33
Speaker
Yes.
01:31:34
Speaker
Yeah.
01:31:34
Speaker
We have a lot of men with like dark hair and beards that that works for.
01:31:38
Speaker
Yeah.
01:31:39
Speaker
Yeah.

Returning HHN Houses and Future Expansion

01:31:41
Speaker
Sounds like a future stumble Friday night activity to me.
01:31:45
Speaker
Oh, for sure.
01:31:46
Speaker
So fun.
01:31:49
Speaker
All right.
01:31:51
Speaker
From Nessa, from previous HHN events, which haunt would you love to make a comeback?
01:32:00
Speaker
I think we touched on some of these, but to give a different answer, I'd like to see The Mummy.
01:32:07
Speaker
Obviously, that's still a popular ride at studios.
01:32:10
Speaker
I'd love to see another mummy house.
01:32:12
Speaker
And I think it's been, Rafa, you probably know better, but it's been like over 10 years since they had that mummy house, right?
01:32:17
Speaker
Yeah, it's been a while.
01:32:21
Speaker
Yeah, I think that would be a pretty good one.
01:32:23
Speaker
I would love to see them bring back Poltergeist.
01:32:26
Speaker
When they did Poltergeist, that was a great house.
01:32:28
Speaker
I think that's my favorite house.
01:32:31
Speaker
Well, I think Scarecrow is my favorite house of all time, but Poltergeist was very, very good.
01:32:37
Speaker
I would definitely bring that back for sure.
01:32:40
Speaker
And Cabin of the Woods was an interesting one too.
01:32:41
Speaker
I don't know if you guys have seen that movie before.
01:32:44
Speaker
Very chaotic.
01:32:45
Speaker
So the house was just as chaotic as the movie.
01:32:47
Speaker
So that was a good one too.
01:32:49
Speaker
A lot of good ones.
01:32:51
Speaker
Also, they had Bloody Mary as the icon one year, which I would love to see that because I never got to see it.
01:33:01
Speaker
So a bunch of options I would, a lot of different IPs and haunts I would bring back.
01:33:07
Speaker
I would love to see Scarecrow because I miss that house.
01:33:11
Speaker
And like you and everybody else that saw that house says how good it is.
01:33:15
Speaker
I know it's going to Vegas, so I should probably try to make it out there, but.
01:33:19
Speaker
I would love that.
01:33:20
Speaker
I would love, like I said earlier, anything Wicked Witch themed.
01:33:24
Speaker
And my favorite, like, original house from the past couple of years I've gone was Dead Man's Pier.
01:33:30
Speaker
Is that what it was called?
01:33:31
Speaker
That was going to be my answer.
01:33:33
Speaker
Dead Man's Pier, because I didn't get to do it.
01:33:36
Speaker
Oh, so beautiful and so cool.
01:33:38
Speaker
I just, like, love that vibe.
01:33:39
Speaker
I...
01:33:40
Speaker
If not that, something in that same vein would be great.
01:33:46
Speaker
I've said this one before, but a way throwback is the Terror Mines where you had the helmet with the flashlight that went out.
01:33:54
Speaker
Something interactive like that would be super cool.
01:33:56
Speaker
Yeah.
01:33:59
Speaker
Also something where in a time where they were still batching you and not a conga line, that would be scary.
01:34:06
Speaker
Yeah, that would be awesome.
01:34:09
Speaker
There's no freaking way with the amount of people that come now.
01:34:11
Speaker
Absolutely.
01:34:11
Speaker
That would be really fun.
01:34:13
Speaker
Well, I did hear that they did that this year with that early night in August, which would have been great, but it was also kind of expensive.
01:34:22
Speaker
So I didn't do that.
01:34:23
Speaker
Yeah.
01:34:24
Speaker
But it's on it pretty.
01:34:25
Speaker
That was kind of the conceit of that night, right?
01:34:27
Speaker
It was sort of an upcharge to have a lower capacity.
01:34:31
Speaker
Okay.
01:34:31
Speaker
Yeah.
01:34:31
Speaker
Yeah.
01:34:33
Speaker
But it was like a $300 something dollar thing, I think.
01:34:37
Speaker
But you get access to all of the food.
01:34:39
Speaker
Yeah.
01:34:40
Speaker
Oh.
01:34:41
Speaker
And like, yo-yo.
01:34:42
Speaker
Interesting.
01:34:43
Speaker
Okay.
01:34:43
Speaker
It's definitely worth it if you're coming.
01:34:45
Speaker
If this is your first time going.
01:34:47
Speaker
Or if you can only go one time.
01:34:49
Speaker
I would say to go to that.
01:34:52
Speaker
But it is a little expensive.
01:34:54
Speaker
But you get a lot out of it.
01:34:56
Speaker
Did it sell out?
01:34:58
Speaker
I don't know.
01:34:59
Speaker
I don't.
01:35:00
Speaker
Did it?
01:35:01
Speaker
I think it was.
01:35:01
Speaker
limited number i don't know i think it would have to but people were people were in like 20 20 minute lines like the whole night which is wild yeah okay yeah something for us to consider obviously as it gets closer we just get a big group and do one of those things what's it called if you guys do it i'll do it it's a rip tour yeah yeah
01:35:26
Speaker
All right.
01:35:28
Speaker
From Braden, do you think HHN will ever expand to have more than 10 houses in the future?
01:35:34
Speaker
We definitely talked about this a little earlier.
01:35:36
Speaker
Whether it's this year or not, I think they're going to have to because these lines, they're just so long and you have to have somewhere to spread these crowds out.
01:35:48
Speaker
I'd love to see them at some point expand into IOA as well.
01:35:53
Speaker
That might be
01:35:55
Speaker
A little bit of a pipe dream, but we'll see how the, as crowds continue to grow, how they plan on managing that.
01:36:03
Speaker
Can you imagine?
01:36:03
Speaker
I can't see them going.
01:36:05
Speaker
I don't know.
01:36:06
Speaker
If they go 11 and 12, that's great.
01:36:09
Speaker
I don't see them going past that ever though, unless they expand it over to islands of adventure.
01:36:15
Speaker
Yeah.
01:36:16
Speaker
Where would it go?
01:36:16
Speaker
Yeah.
01:36:17
Speaker
You know, it's just a space constraint.
01:36:18
Speaker
There's other sound stages, but I think they're like utilized.
01:36:22
Speaker
Right.
01:36:22
Speaker
Yeah.
01:36:24
Speaker
Right.
01:36:25
Speaker
And there are pathways that, I mean, there are pathways, I believe, if you have like, if you have the queues going from islands over to the sound stages, like in the back part, like where Seuss Landing is, I think you can kind of connect through there, but I just feel like it'll be all over the place.
01:36:41
Speaker
So I just, I don't see them.
01:36:44
Speaker
I don't know.
01:36:44
Speaker
Maybe they'll have two separate events, like two different parks, like two different HHNs, maybe, but I don't know.
01:36:52
Speaker
Adding more houses.
01:36:55
Speaker
I think once they add to their maximum capacity space-wise, they're probably going to have to start limiting capacity of the event and require reservations or something like that.
01:37:05
Speaker
Yeah.
01:37:05
Speaker
Because, yeah, there's a certain point.
01:37:11
Speaker
Definitely.
01:37:14
Speaker
Chris, we see your question about Epcot food and wine.
01:37:17
Speaker
We're going to table that one a little bit just...
01:37:20
Speaker
as it gets closer to that event, I think we'll have a better answer around then.
01:37:27
Speaker
Any other events coming up that we want to talk about?
01:37:31
Speaker
Kelly?

Buzz Bars Coaster Club Upcoming Events and Social Media Expansion

01:37:33
Speaker
We can talk about upcoming Buzzbars events.
01:37:36
Speaker
Let's go!
01:37:38
Speaker
If you somehow stumbled upon our podcast without listening to the Drunk Riders podcast or are already a member of Buzz Bars, we are all in a coaster club called Buzz Bars Coaster Club.
01:37:54
Speaker
We have multiple events throughout the year.
01:37:57
Speaker
Our upcoming event or our next event, I guess, is Golden Gate Wobble the first weekend of April.
01:38:05
Speaker
So we will be in Northern California going to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom and California's Great America and maybe...

beach boardwalk and maybe go right gardens who knows getting all the creds but um we're also going to be doing some brewery hopping and running a 5k together as a team so if any of that sounds interesting to you um we don't know how long cga is going to be around for so this might be your opportunity to come to that
01:38:36
Speaker
And then our next stumble will be Memorial Day weekend at the Virginia parks.
01:38:43
Speaker
That's what's the name of that?
01:38:47
Speaker
Some big, no, Virginia.
01:38:52
Speaker
I was trying to remember the name too.
01:38:53
Speaker
I was like, wait, I don't know the name.
01:38:55
Speaker
Virginia Verstuffles the Revenge.
01:38:58
Speaker
So we'll be at BG Dubs and King's Minion and we'll plan some other fun stuff for that.
01:39:08
Speaker
Yeah.
01:39:10
Speaker
We had a lot of new people at our most recent event this past weekend.
01:39:13
Speaker
So hopefully you all had a great time.
01:39:17
Speaker
I'm checking to see if there are any special events happening at Bush Williamsburg while we'll be there.
01:39:24
Speaker
I think I had it pulled up earlier.
01:39:25
Speaker
Let me see.
01:39:27
Speaker
Nobody closed out.
01:39:29
Speaker
Ah, yes.
01:39:30
Speaker
It does appear that the Food and Wine Festival will be happening at Bush Gardens Williamsburg while we're there.
01:39:36
Speaker
Love to hear it.
01:39:38
Speaker
Nice.
01:39:39
Speaker
I've tried a couple of those in the past, and they're usually pretty good.
01:39:42
Speaker
Mm-hmm.
01:39:45
Speaker
But that's the same style as Mardi Gras.
01:39:46
Speaker
It's like a punch card, isn't it?
01:39:49
Speaker
Yeah, it should be pretty similar.
01:39:51
Speaker
And they do have Mardi Gras going on right now.
01:39:54
Speaker
I might try to make it down there in the next week or two and check out Mardi Gras and I can report back.
01:40:01
Speaker
Oh, my answer earlier, they do have a St.
01:40:03
Speaker
Patrick's Day celebration, March 13th through 17th.
01:40:06
Speaker
Look at that.
01:40:07
Speaker
They heard you.
01:40:08
Speaker
They heard me.
01:40:09
Speaker
They put it right on.
01:40:11
Speaker
So good for them.
01:40:13
Speaker
Yeah.
01:40:13
Speaker
I'll also be going to Mardi Gras at Universal.
01:40:16
Speaker
So I guess you'll, we'll hear about both Universal and BGW.
01:40:21
Speaker
So that's exciting.
01:40:24
Speaker
Yes.
01:40:26
Speaker
And maybe we can do a little review of Terrifier since we're all going to watch it.
01:40:30
Speaker
Oh, that we're all, I'm dying to hear that.
01:40:34
Speaker
That's going to be fun.
01:40:36
Speaker
Hopefully by that time we'll have some, some better speculation and some more things will come out by then that we can talk about.
01:40:44
Speaker
Yes, definitely.
01:40:45
Speaker
All right.
01:40:47
Speaker
Any, anybody want to give any closing thoughts, anything to leave the people with?
01:40:53
Speaker
We are going to try to up our game here and post this podcast on our own and maybe get into the social media world.
01:41:05
Speaker
So,
01:41:06
Speaker
If you want to follow us, soon we'll have some information where you can do that.
01:41:11
Speaker
Yep.
01:41:11
Speaker
We made the Instagram today.
01:41:12
Speaker
So far we have five followers.
01:41:14
Speaker
So I think we can do a little better than that.
01:41:19
Speaker
We have posted nothing.
01:41:21
Speaker
But it is a work in progress.
01:41:23
Speaker
We made it like three hours ago.
01:41:24
Speaker
We will work on it.
01:41:25
Speaker
We'll get there.
01:41:27
Speaker
Yeah.
01:41:28
Speaker
Yeah.
01:41:28
Speaker
Yeah.
01:41:29
Speaker
But yeah, let us know any suggestions you have, anything you'd like to see us talk about.
01:41:34
Speaker
Just drop it on the social media or in the Discord.
01:41:39
Speaker
Maybe we should share for now our personal social media so that way anybody who wants to can DM us or wherever.
01:41:47
Speaker
So I'm on Instagram at AeroCoasters.
01:41:51
Speaker
That's A-E-R-O.
01:41:56
Speaker
All right.
01:41:56
Speaker
And I'm on Instagram as well.
01:41:58
Speaker
Travel for thrills.
01:42:01
Speaker
My Instagram is park pursuer.
01:42:04
Speaker
It's kind of a combination between like national parks and theme parks, but I lean more towards the theme parks, I think.
01:42:10
Speaker
And then I'm on Instagram with my husband, exploring underscore forces.
01:42:18
Speaker
We are not very active, but we do post on stories when we are doing things.
01:42:25
Speaker
And then
01:42:26
Speaker
On Twitter, I am Kel underscore Nicole.
01:42:30
Speaker
What's Twitter?
01:42:33
Speaker
X, whatever the heck.
01:42:37
Speaker
It's always Twitter to me.
01:42:38
Speaker
I know.
01:42:45
Speaker
I think that's it.
01:42:45
Speaker
Cool.
01:42:46
Speaker
Okay.
01:42:48
Speaker
We'll talk soon.
01:42:49
Speaker
See you soon.
01:42:50
Speaker
Bye.
