The TCS gang is joined by two-named special guest and number one podcast fan ScottDon as we continue with Part II of our Stumble Across the Pond recap. We all get Hyperiayassss'd, Kelli gets Hex'd, and the wind provides a lovely spite across Thorpe Park, Alton Towers, and Blackpool Pleasure Beach. Plus, since HHN spilled the whole bag while we were in Europe, we continue reviewing the original houses that have been released. Stay tuned for Part III soon!

We're going to play a little game we call Spill the Tea.
00:00:21
Speaker
What is up, everybody?
00:00:22
Speaker
Welcome back to Thrills, Chills, and Spills, where we spill the tea on all things theme parks, special events, and especially spooky season.

Meet the Hosts and Guest

00:00:31
Speaker
I am Tyler.
00:00:32
Speaker
I'm Joey.
00:00:35
Speaker
And I'm Rafa.
00:00:36
Speaker
All right, tonight we have a very special guest.
00:00:40
Speaker
our number one fan.
00:00:42
Speaker
I'm sure he's very excited to be here.
00:00:44
Speaker
The man with two names himself.
00:00:47
Speaker
Scott Don.
00:00:48
Speaker
What's up, Scott?
00:00:48
Speaker
What's up, guys?
00:00:51
Speaker
Scott Don.
00:00:52
Speaker
Scott Don.
00:00:53
Speaker
Scott not Don.
00:00:54
Speaker
Thanks for coming on.
00:00:55
Speaker
We appreciate it.
00:00:57
Speaker
Of course.
00:00:57
Speaker
Of course.
00:00:58
Speaker
Happy to be here.
00:00:59
Speaker
Of course.
00:00:59
Speaker
Tonight we're going to cover sort of the middle part of our trip since we did break it up into three different episodes.

Discussing Park Closing Hours

00:01:07
Speaker
But first, as always, we will start with our spills.
00:01:11
Speaker
So I'll start.
00:01:12
Speaker
My spill has to do with the hours at the parks in the UK, which I do not understand at all.
00:01:22
Speaker
So if you don't know, most parks over there close at 6, 5, even earlier, some of them.
00:01:28
Speaker
And I just don't get it.
00:01:30
Speaker
They have daylight, at least according to the East Coast, they have daylight until 9, 10, 11 p.m., depending on where you are.
00:01:37
Speaker
But their parks are closing so much earlier.
00:01:40
Speaker
And they open later sometimes also, especially Drayton, which we'll get to next episode.
00:01:45
Speaker
10.30 to 4 p.m.
00:01:48
Speaker
was their hours on a Sunday in June.
00:01:51
Speaker
It just absolutely blows my mind.
00:01:53
Speaker
And it was so crowded.
00:01:54
Speaker
I have no idea how that's a thing.
00:01:56
Speaker
Yeah.
00:01:57
Speaker
Yeah.
00:01:58
Speaker
I mean, it would help break up the crowds.
00:01:59
Speaker
I mean, I don't know if they just don't want to invest in lights on their paths or they only want to pay for one shift per day.
00:02:09
Speaker
I mean, if I had to guess, I think that's probably... Very much giving one shift pay.
00:02:13
Speaker
That's what I thought, yeah.
00:02:14
Speaker
The other thing that...
00:02:15
Speaker
caught my attention while we were there is when there were school groups like on weekdays, they all left at four.
00:02:23
Speaker
And then so the park closing at like five or six after they're kind of like key busy hours are over kind of made sense to me.
00:02:31
Speaker
I mean, it's not good for like a casual visitor, obviously, who's not with the school groups.
00:02:36
Speaker
But I have to wonder if that is in part of it, too, is that they're not seeing business like enough business in those later hours to justify a second shift.
00:02:45
Speaker
But I mean, are they not seeing the business because they close early or are they closing early because they aren't seeing the business?
00:02:52
Speaker
Right.
00:02:52
Speaker
I mean, that's the thing, too.
00:02:53
Speaker
It's like induced demand.
00:02:54
Speaker
You build a new lane on the highway and people use it.
00:02:56
Speaker
Like if those hours were there, you have to wonder, would they not, you know, fill fill the park during those times?

Epic Universe Evening Hours Frustrations

00:03:02
Speaker
Yeah, I feel like it's a financial risk that they just don't want to take because they're just like, well, if we if not enough people show up, then, you know, we're obviously losing money by operating for longer hours.
00:03:13
Speaker
But I don't know.
00:03:14
Speaker
I feel like it takes away from the experience.
00:03:17
Speaker
It definitely does.
00:03:17
Speaker
I mean, there's just no such thing as night rides in the UK, essentially.
00:03:22
Speaker
Yeah, for sure.
00:03:23
Speaker
It's the fall, I guess.
00:03:24
Speaker
But it also just like added a lot of stress and pressure to our days to trying to like fit everything in, like in a shorter period of time than we're used to.
00:03:34
Speaker
Obviously, they're not operating for a bunch of American Thusies.
00:03:40
Speaker
I wish that there was just a couple more hours, though.
00:03:42
Speaker
You don't have to reopen until 10, but just that difference between 7 or 8 instead of 5 or 6.
00:03:48
Speaker
Totally.
00:03:48
Speaker
It just allows you to breathe a little during the day.
00:03:51
Speaker
The latest we were at a park was for our Hyperia ERT, which we'll talk about, but we barely squeaked out golden hour out of that.
00:03:59
Speaker
It's just light there, so late, too.
00:04:01
Speaker
Yeah.
00:04:02
Speaker
Yeah.
00:04:04
Speaker
That actually made me think too, and there's a lot of discourse about this on Twitter, but Epic Universe's hours too, that part is literally made for the darkness.
00:04:15
Speaker
It looks so beautiful with all the lights on and they barely have evening hours.
00:04:19
Speaker
They did in the summer have some days open till 10 or 9 or 10, but I was looking ahead at their September hours, which they don't have posted yet.
00:04:27
Speaker
They have to the end of August, just mostly personally because I'll be there in September, but...
00:04:34
Speaker
In the week before the end of August on like every day of the week, they're closing at 8 p.m.
00:04:40
Speaker
again.
00:04:41
Speaker
So it's like, I guess like there's just no option to see the park in the dark because presumably the end of August, beginning of September, it's not really dark yet at 8 o'clock.

Exciting Speculations on Universal Great Britain

00:04:52
Speaker
No.
00:04:52
Speaker
Frustrating.
00:04:53
Speaker
Yeah.
00:04:53
Speaker
It's kind of odd.
00:04:54
Speaker
It's strange.
00:04:56
Speaker
It makes me wonder how much they invested in the nighttime experience there.
00:04:59
Speaker
Yeah.
00:05:00
Speaker
It's weird.
00:05:02
Speaker
I wonder what the Universal Great Britain Park is going to do in that regard.
00:05:06
Speaker
Are they going to run that all?
00:05:07
Speaker
Well, speaking of, yeah, some new permit information came out about that.
00:05:13
Speaker
And it was, I want to say, 7 a.m.
00:05:16
Speaker
until 11 p.m.
00:05:17
Speaker
where their standard operating hours.
00:05:19
Speaker
But that doesn't necessarily mean that's actually what the park hours will be.
00:05:22
Speaker
That's just kind of the envelope of where they could be.
00:05:25
Speaker
And then they also had some exceptions for special events out until 2 a.m.
00:05:31
Speaker
or 1am for the special events.
00:05:32
Speaker
Like when they do rentals, they'll like rent out the park for a special event at night and then like some company will buy it and then they can have it until 1am.
00:05:40
Speaker
And then they also had the exception till 2am for HHN.
00:05:43
Speaker
So it sounds like they are planning to do HHN at this new park in Britain, which interesting.
00:05:50
Speaker
Yeah.
00:05:51
Speaker
Very interesting.
00:05:53
Speaker
I'm going to have to go.
00:05:54
Speaker
Oh, absolutely.
00:05:55
Speaker
Yeah.
00:05:58
Speaker
I mean, we obviously know they love Halloween and spooky stuff over there.
00:06:01
Speaker
Oh, yeah.
00:06:02
Speaker
It seems like it.
00:06:03
Speaker
All

Six Flags Coaster Delays: Safety Issues?

00:06:07
Speaker
right.
00:06:07
Speaker
Anybody have any other spills?
00:06:11
Speaker
Well, this is leftover from a little bit ago, but I guess I'll bring it up is that so Six Flags delayed another roller coaster.
00:06:20
Speaker
Quantum Accelerator at Six Flags New England got pushed into 2026 with not even like a date.
00:06:25
Speaker
Really?
00:06:26
Speaker
It's just 2026 in general.
00:06:29
Speaker
which is kind of disappointing.
00:06:31
Speaker
After the merger, we were hoping that there would be less of this kind of construction delay issues.
00:06:38
Speaker
The only thing that's maybe kind of throwing a wrench in that is it seems that all of the North American straddle coaster models have been closed.
00:06:48
Speaker
And so it's suspected that there is some kind of problem that Intamin has identified.
00:06:55
Speaker
with the trains specifically that has caused them all to be shut down for some kind of safety issue.
00:07:01
Speaker
But I just saw that Ryan recently posted some video of it cycling.
00:07:04
Speaker
So I wonder if they're using because it's not officially open.
00:07:08
Speaker
I wonder if they're using quantum as kind of a test bed for whatever fixes they're trying to make.
00:07:13
Speaker
And hopefully it'll be open like at the beginning of the season next year, then that would be
00:07:18
Speaker
I would hope so.
00:07:20
Speaker
It's wild that they call it 2026 already, though.
00:07:22
Speaker
They call it in June.
00:07:24
Speaker
I know.
00:07:24
Speaker
Half of the year left.
00:07:25
Speaker
It's so early.
00:07:25
Speaker
And they operate that park in the fall, too.
00:07:28
Speaker
Yeah, exactly.
00:07:29
Speaker
It's so close to when it was supposed to open, too.
00:07:32
Speaker
Right, right.
00:07:33
Speaker
And it's just like what happened repeatedly.
00:07:37
Speaker
They made these decisions because they're like, well, I guess we're not going to make our season bump in attendance off of this ride, so now we're just going to push it.
00:07:45
Speaker
But then like you burn your pass holders because, you know, maybe somebody bought one like in the area, like in the local area, like, oh, like Six Flags is finally getting something new.
00:07:54
Speaker
Let me get a pass for this year.
00:07:56
Speaker
And then like for my whole family, because my kids can also write it.
00:08:01
Speaker
Exactly.
00:08:01
Speaker
Yeah.
00:08:02
Speaker
Well, it's the same thing that Seize did with Iron Gwazi.
00:08:05
Speaker
You advertise something and then don't open it until the next year.
00:08:09
Speaker
I mean, that's borderline fraudulent, in my opinion.
00:08:12
Speaker
Yeah.
00:08:12
Speaker
Yeah.
00:08:14
Speaker
Anyways, thanks Zamperla.
00:08:18
Speaker
Right.
00:08:18
Speaker
It's completely Adam Sandy's

Scott's Theme Park Enthusiasm Journey

00:08:20
Speaker
fault.
00:08:20
Speaker
Damn it.
00:08:21
Speaker
All right.
00:08:23
Speaker
Any other spills?
00:08:26
Speaker
Cool.
00:08:28
Speaker
We will get into our next segment, which we're going to get to know Scott a little bit better.
00:08:34
Speaker
Oh, boy.
00:08:36
Speaker
Oh boy.
00:08:39
Speaker
We have our normal interview set that we've done.
00:08:42
Speaker
We call it our lightning round, but I don't know how much of a lightning round it is because Scott, you've heard this like four times now.
00:08:48
Speaker
So nothing should be a surprise, but you ready for it?
00:08:52
Speaker
Oh yeah.
00:08:53
Speaker
All right.
00:08:54
Speaker
First question.
00:08:55
Speaker
When and why did you become a theme park and roller coaster enthusiast?
00:09:00
Speaker
So growing up in Lansing, the Lansing area in Michigan, right.
00:09:05
Speaker
Cedar point, not too far away.
00:09:08
Speaker
And there was always like the choir trips and stuff to, to Cedar point.
00:09:12
Speaker
So like I was there the, the set, the day after millennium force opened Raptor was the first roller coaster I ever rode.
00:09:18
Speaker
But you know, so that was kind of the, you know, the youth experience and would always go to Orlando, you know, with, you know,
00:09:27
Speaker
various relationships over the course of the years and kind of fell out of the theme park and coaster stuff for a while until post-COVID, my buddy and I took a trip down to Universal and Disney and everything to really the point was to go see Galaxy's Edge.
00:09:44
Speaker
Right.
00:09:45
Speaker
And yeah,
00:09:46
Speaker
I didn't even know that like Velocicoaster had been built.
00:09:49
Speaker
That's how far out of the loop I was.
00:09:50
Speaker
So, you know, we walked into IOA that day and kind of saw that horizon and road Velocicoaster, obviously, and Hagrid's and, and guardians of the galaxy on that trip.
00:10:01
Speaker
And then that was when, you know, started to get into coaster YouTube and stuff like that.
00:10:05
Speaker
So I would say January of 21 is kind of when the, the, the fire got reignited, so to speak, I guess.
00:10:13
Speaker
And where I really kind of dove into,
00:10:16
Speaker
to the, you know, not just like the idea of, Oh, Orlando's a cool vacation.
00:10:19
Speaker
Like I'm going specifically to, you know, do the theme parks and kind of pay more attention and stuff like that, you know?
00:10:28
Speaker
Very good.
00:10:28
Speaker
And how did you find buzz bars?
00:10:30
Speaker
How'd you get involved?
00:10:32
Speaker
So I found buzz bars actually by, uh, a coasters and brews YouTube video.
00:10:38
Speaker
So shout out Matt and drew, uh,
00:10:40
Speaker
the my my buddy who I went to IOA with, you know, one night I was actually living at his house as well because my mom had just sold her place, you know, post covid nonsense.
00:10:50
Speaker
And
00:10:51
Speaker
I came back from work one day and he was like, you know, we were, we, we had found coaster YouTube after that trip.
00:10:57
Speaker
Right.
00:10:57
Speaker
So like, you know, we were diving into ride reviews and POVs and all this stuff that we didn't know existed.
00:11:02
Speaker
Right.
00:11:03
Speaker
So, uh, and yeah, he, he just showed me a coasters and bruise video.
00:11:08
Speaker
And then I ended up, uh, kind of deep dive in the channel and found the, the trip recap videos that, uh,
00:11:15
Speaker
that were there.
00:11:17
Speaker
I think it was the stumble in the hole recap video was the one that sticks out in my mind as the one that made me want to look into buzz bars and everything like that.
00:11:27
Speaker
That was leading up to the top thrill stumble onion time frame.
00:11:33
Speaker
Very good.
00:11:35
Speaker
I love that our YouTube channel actually brought somebody in because I feel like a lot of people just say the podcast.
00:11:39
Speaker
Yeah.
00:11:41
Speaker
I actually found out through Coasters and Brews too.
00:11:42
Speaker
I think I saw like an Instagram video.
00:11:45
Speaker
No way.
00:11:45
Speaker
And then I saw it through you, Joey.
00:11:47
Speaker
I remember you posted something about the club.
00:11:49
Speaker
I'm like, oh, I think I'll check it out.
00:11:52
Speaker
So you can get some of that credit because I got that from you.
00:11:57
Speaker
Not me being an influencer.
00:11:58
Speaker
I know.
00:11:59
Speaker
Look at you.
00:12:01
Speaker
I was also co-susan bruise.
00:12:02
Speaker
I had no idea what the drunk riders were until I joined.
00:12:05
Speaker
Same.
00:12:06
Speaker
That's so funny.
00:12:08
Speaker
No shade.
00:12:10
Speaker
All right.
00:12:11
Speaker
Let's get into what I remember listening to or like watching the video and watching the trip recaps and then listening to the podcast and like, you know, trying to like
00:12:20
Speaker
put the pieces together, like who's who, you know, and all that stuff.
00:12:23
Speaker
And I think that Joey, you were one of the first people I met when I awkwardly tried to sneak into top thrill stumble at the Maverick queue that night.
00:12:30
Speaker
I don't even know if you remember that or not, but that was literally like my first interaction with buzz bars.
00:12:34
Speaker
People was that, that Maverick ride that night.
00:12:37
Speaker
So that's so funny.
00:12:40
Speaker
Very cool.
00:12:40
Speaker
All right, let's get into this lightning round.
00:12:44
Speaker
Scott, what is your credit count?
00:12:47
Speaker
214.
00:12:48
Speaker
All right.
00:12:49
Speaker
Your favorite coaster.
00:12:53
Speaker
I'm still torn, but I'm going to give the edge to Velocicoaster still, because not only the most recent ride I had on it with Javi was legendary, but it's the ride that got me back into the hobby.
00:13:09
Speaker
So I've got to give it a little bit of a nod as much as my recency binds wants me to say Stardust.
00:13:14
Speaker
Yeah, fair enough.
00:13:15
Speaker
All right.
00:13:17
Speaker
Your favorite theme park?
00:13:20
Speaker
Might be a cop-out, but I'm just going to say the entire Universal Orlando complex.
00:13:25
Speaker
Yeah, that's a cop-out.
00:13:27
Speaker
Yeah.
00:13:29
Speaker
You know.
00:13:30
Speaker
We'll accept it.
00:13:32
Speaker
We'll allow it.
00:13:34
Speaker
Your next park visit planned.
00:13:37
Speaker
Next planned one would be Deep Dish Stumble, but I'm probably going to go to... I still have so many things to see here in the Southern California area, so I'll probably go to California Adventure, I would imagine, before that, just because I've never been.
00:13:52
Speaker
And I still haven't been to Universal out here, too.
00:13:55
Speaker
So one of those two will be the next one I visit, I'm sure.
00:13:58
Speaker
Gotcha.
00:14:00
Speaker
Do you prefer wood or steel coasters?
00:14:03
Speaker
Steal all the way.
00:14:04
Speaker
Yeah.
00:14:05
Speaker
Easy answer, huh?
00:14:06
Speaker
Yeah.
00:14:09
Speaker
Would you always skip over spooky season or you can only ride coasters built in 2000 or earlier?
00:14:18
Speaker
As much as it pains me to say this, I would skip over spooky season and I would just have to hope that there would be spooky themed roller coasters that I could ride.
00:14:26
Speaker
Yeah.
00:14:28
Speaker
Because, I mean, spooky season wasn't even a thing for me until last year.
00:14:32
Speaker
So, you know, that just is the reality of it for me.
00:14:36
Speaker
Sorry, Kelly.
00:14:43
Speaker
If I'm not mistaken, Scott, I think you're the first person to say that.
00:14:47
Speaker
No, I said that.
00:14:48
Speaker
Oh, you did too, Joey.
00:14:49
Speaker
I said it too.
00:14:52
Speaker
All right.
00:14:52
Speaker
Well, nevermind.
00:14:53
Speaker
I don't think I just love new roller coasters way too much.
00:14:55
Speaker
Like the new, you know, like I'm very much a, I like the new stuff.
00:14:59
Speaker
So we wouldn't have any of new mock.
00:15:03
Speaker
She would only have spooky season.
00:15:05
Speaker
All right, Scott, what is your number one hobby outside of coasters and parks?
00:15:13
Speaker
Uh, golf and, and fly fishing, I would say that are the two big hobbies I have used to be snowboarding, but the body doesn't really let that happen anymore.
00:15:22
Speaker
So cool.
00:15:24
Speaker
Also probably not too much of that in Los Angeles area.
00:15:27
Speaker
No, not at all.
00:15:30
Speaker
Surprisingly, not that far away though.
00:15:32
Speaker
Yeah.
00:15:33
Speaker
Uh, what's your go-to drink?
00:15:36
Speaker
I'm a clear liquor guy.
00:15:38
Speaker
So, you know, vodka, gin, and any sort of spritz, fizz, vodka soda with a lime, you know, anything like that.
00:15:48
Speaker
Long drink, if I'm drinking like something that's already, you know, you buy a six-pack of or something like that.
00:15:53
Speaker
How about the best pizza topping?
00:15:58
Speaker
Straight pep.
00:15:59
Speaker
Well done.
00:16:01
Speaker
No question.
00:16:04
Speaker
Cider Ranch.
00:16:05
Speaker
Cider Ranch, okay.
00:16:07
Speaker
Bucket list travel destination.
00:16:11
Speaker
I got to go with Australia.
00:16:14
Speaker
You know, I know it's a broad area of the world, given it's an entire continent.
00:16:18
Speaker
But yeah, just the vibes, the golf, the coasters, all of it, the beaches.
00:16:26
Speaker
You know, that's just what it is.
00:16:28
Speaker
Steve Irwin.
00:16:30
Speaker
I agree with that.
00:16:31
Speaker
It's probably like top three for me.
00:16:33
Speaker
Or New Zealand.
00:16:35
Speaker
That whole area, really.
00:16:36
Speaker
Yeah, definitely.
00:16:38
Speaker
Gotta visit Marty.
00:16:40
Speaker
Yeah.
00:16:42
Speaker
Do you have a go-to karaoke song?
00:16:46
Speaker
You've lost that love and feeling if I had to.
00:16:49
Speaker
If I was forced into it.
00:16:51
Speaker
Top Gun shout out.
00:16:52
Speaker
We're gonna make you do that sometime.
00:16:54
Speaker
Beware.
00:16:55
Speaker
Alright.
00:16:58
Speaker
Make sure I have some drinks in me first.
00:17:00
Speaker
Yeah, there you go.
00:17:02
Speaker
What is your roller coaster hot take?
00:17:06
Speaker
This is the one question I struggled with because I don't know if I have any hot takes.
00:17:11
Speaker
I guess my hot take would be that I have no problem with fast passes.
00:17:15
Speaker
Pay to play is fine for me.
00:17:17
Speaker
I think that that's totally okay.
00:17:18
Speaker
If you want to do it, all the more power to you.
00:17:21
Speaker
I think that some people in the Thuzi community kind of look down on the fast pass, so to speak.
00:17:26
Speaker
But if I can afford it, I'm doing it.
00:17:29
Speaker
Shout out to Bradley.
00:17:30
Speaker
Hi, Bradley.
00:17:33
Speaker
You don't listen, I don't think.
00:17:34
Speaker
But if you do, hi.
00:17:36
Speaker
All right.
00:17:39
Speaker
And do you have any socials you want to shout out?
00:17:42
Speaker
No.
00:17:43
Speaker
I mean, feel free to follow my normal personal account, Scott B. Socks, that posts two times a year.
00:17:50
Speaker
It's there for you if you want it.
00:17:52
Speaker
But he'll DM you.
00:17:54
Speaker
Yes, I will.
00:17:55
Speaker
Only if I like you, though.
00:18:02
Speaker
Well, thank you, Scott.

Lightning Round and Trip Recap Transition

00:18:04
Speaker
Yeah.
00:18:05
Speaker
Now we'll get into our trip recap, sort of the meat of the stumble.
00:18:11
Speaker
Before we get into the next day of our trip, we wanted to check in with Scott about last week.
00:18:17
Speaker
So what did you think about our recap?
00:18:19
Speaker
Because you were on the trip with us as well.
00:18:22
Speaker
I thought it was great.
00:18:23
Speaker
Yeah.

Scott's Paultons Park Adventure

00:18:24
Speaker
A little bit of color to add.
00:18:26
Speaker
Our man was falling asleep on the way to Paultons Park as well.
00:18:31
Speaker
Tim can verify that I woke him up out of a sound sleep because I didn't want to panic everybody around us.
00:18:39
Speaker
I was in the second row behind Tim.
00:18:41
Speaker
He was behind the driver.
00:18:43
Speaker
And yeah, I had to wake him up and say, hey, will you tap the driver on the shoulder?
00:18:47
Speaker
Because we almost just sideswiped a car.
00:18:49
Speaker
So yeah, I was sweating that whole ride to Paul.
00:18:56
Speaker
That's for sure.
00:18:58
Speaker
So Scott's anxiety lasted a lot longer than some of us, for sure.
00:19:02
Speaker
I mean, I even tried to say something to him at Stonehenge.
00:19:04
Speaker
But yeah, that was all we got was yeah.
00:19:08
Speaker
So yeah.
00:19:13
Speaker
We appreciate the effort at least.
00:19:15
Speaker
Yeah.
00:19:16
Speaker
Yeah.
00:19:18
Speaker
Anything else?
00:19:21
Speaker
I want to shout out Ethan in the trivia that we did on the way back from Chessington.
00:19:25
Speaker
That bus was very hot.
00:19:26
Speaker
And as Tom found out a couple of days later, standing on the bus while it's moving and trying to talk to the whole group is not easy to do, especially when it's like, you know, 80 degrees or however hot it was in that bus.
00:19:37
Speaker
So I felt like I got a workout in on the way to downtown.
00:19:40
Speaker
Yeah.
00:19:42
Speaker
But yeah, that was fun.
00:19:43
Speaker
I hope everybody enjoyed it.
00:19:45
Speaker
And I'm trying to think.
00:19:48
Speaker
I mean, Titanic, you know.
00:19:51
Speaker
That was great fun.
00:19:52
Speaker
It was so great.
00:19:53
Speaker
It was so great.
00:19:54
Speaker
So much fun.
00:19:56
Speaker
I'm trying to talk to my mom.
00:19:57
Speaker
You were part of that because you kind of convinced Javi and James to come.
00:20:02
Speaker
Yeah.
00:20:02
Speaker
Yeah, for sure.
00:20:03
Speaker
Theater's awesome.
00:20:04
Speaker
You know, if you're not into it, then whatever.
00:20:07
Speaker
But yeah, no, I'm trying to get my mom to take a London trip with me just to go to shows after that whole West End experience.
00:20:14
Speaker
So, yeah.
00:20:17
Speaker
Yeah, I really enjoyed the trivia.
00:20:18
Speaker
It was very difficult, though.
00:20:21
Speaker
Yeah.
00:20:22
Speaker
Yeah.
00:20:23
Speaker
They were, you know, especially I thought the, uh, the category, the, uh, the, what are these things have in common category in particular, you know, like they were in the, and then when you hear the answer, you're like, Oh, okay.
00:20:36
Speaker
Like, especially like the baseball one, when you hear it, it's like, Oh, that was so obvious, you know, but you just don't, your brain's not trained to think major league baseball.
00:20:44
Speaker
Right.
00:20:45
Speaker
Or, or whatever, whatever it may be, whatever the category is.
00:20:47
Speaker
Right.
00:20:48
Speaker
So.
00:20:49
Speaker
We were coming up with all kinds of other things, though.
00:20:52
Speaker
I just kept putting for each of them.
00:20:53
Speaker
I just put both are roller coasters, both are roller coasters, both are roller coasters.
00:20:58
Speaker
I did that for every single answer because I'm like, I don't know these.
00:21:01
Speaker
I really don't.
00:21:02
Speaker
But it was still fun.
00:21:03
Speaker
It was still pretty fun.
00:21:04
Speaker
Yeah, for sure.
00:21:06
Speaker
The amount of thought and effort that went into it was pretty impressive.
00:21:10
Speaker
Yes, that was great.
00:21:12
Speaker
All credit to Ethan on that front.
00:21:14
Speaker
And to Kelly for helping me grade them because I kept getting distracted reading people's answers.
00:21:19
Speaker
I was flying through the grading.
00:21:20
Speaker
It was embarrassingly fast to me.
00:21:23
Speaker
I just want to say that Tyler and I were in fourth place.
00:21:29
Speaker
So we almost made it into the top three.
00:21:35
Speaker
But I was really upset when one of the last ones I graded had a higher score.
00:21:42
Speaker
Well, honestly, what brought us up was the naming all the ERT because when you have the person that plans all of those events, it's a little bit unfair.
00:21:53
Speaker
You better get that right.
00:21:55
Speaker
That's why we teared.
00:21:58
Speaker
There's like a debate on our bus about that.
00:22:00
Speaker
That's why we tiered the points on that question, because we thought that it would, in generally, it was fair to give maybe a slight edge to those members that had been a part of the club for longer, right?
00:22:11
Speaker
Like not necessarily who's going to remember every ERT, but that's why we kind of grouped it into different point categories, depending on how many you named kind of thing, you know?
00:22:20
Speaker
Yeah, if it was one point per each one, we would have freaking killed it.
00:22:25
Speaker
Because I got all of those right.
00:22:29
Speaker
I'm still blown away by how many ERTs there were at the Magic Mountain event.
00:22:33
Speaker
It was way before my time.
00:22:34
Speaker
That was wild.
00:22:36
Speaker
Three each day.
00:22:37
Speaker
Right.
00:22:38
Speaker
That was crazy.
00:22:41
Speaker
Cool.
00:22:42
Speaker
All

Exceptional Hospitality at Thorpe Park

00:22:43
Speaker
right.
00:22:43
Speaker
We want to talk about Thorpe Park first.
00:22:47
Speaker
Mm-hmm.
00:22:48
Speaker
Thorpe.
00:22:50
Speaker
Thorpe.
00:22:52
Speaker
Loved Thorpe.
00:22:53
Speaker
This is probably the best park day.
00:22:56
Speaker
Yes.
00:22:56
Speaker
I don't know if it's the best park necessarily, but I think it was almost a unanimous decision that it was the best park day.
00:23:06
Speaker
It was the best vibe for everybody.
00:23:07
Speaker
Yeah, the vibes were great.
00:23:09
Speaker
Everything was open.
00:23:10
Speaker
Park staff was awesome.
00:23:13
Speaker
We had a really good day there.
00:23:15
Speaker
Yeah, they showed up for us for sure.
00:23:18
Speaker
I really did.
00:23:19
Speaker
Yeah.
00:23:20
Speaker
Like we were like, where are they taking us in the morning?
00:23:22
Speaker
Because that was not something that was pre planned, really.
00:23:26
Speaker
And then they walked us into our little tent with our snacks and private restroom.
00:23:30
Speaker
And we were like, let's go.
00:23:32
Speaker
That was amazing.
00:23:33
Speaker
It was great.
00:23:34
Speaker
Yeah, that was.
00:23:35
Speaker
Yeah.
00:23:36
Speaker
It seemed like they were genuinely making a point to go above and beyond.
00:23:40
Speaker
You know, it was a very cool, very cool feeling.
00:23:43
Speaker
And a lot of the staff that we talked to were definitely Thusies.
00:23:46
Speaker
Like they, they knew like who we were, like what a rollercoaster club was and, and what we were interested in and everything.
00:23:53
Speaker
And I remember Tom got all excited because halfway through the day, like Jamie, our contact texted him and it was like, do you guys want a bar during the Q and a,
00:24:03
Speaker
So they totally read the group in the morning and were like, these people should have a bar later.
00:24:07
Speaker
And they ended up setting that up for us, which is hilarious.
00:24:10
Speaker
Yeah, they were sweet.
00:24:11
Speaker
And it was really cool.
00:24:13
Speaker
We like about a month ago met a group of Thusies from the UK.
00:24:20
Speaker
And one of them just happens to work at Thorpe.
00:24:23
Speaker
And like we were conversing about the trip.
00:24:25
Speaker
They were on a trip over here.
00:24:26
Speaker
And then we said, told them that we were coming over.
00:24:29
Speaker
And then we found out that he followed Buzzbars already on like Instagram and knew who the drunk riders were.
00:24:34
Speaker
It was just like a small world moment.
00:24:36
Speaker
And then he happened to be there that day.
00:24:38
Speaker
Shout out to Caleb.
00:24:38
Speaker
And he was super helpful in the morning, kind of helping us to figure out where to go during rope drop and what rides were going to be open and which ones weren't going to be open at Park Open.
00:24:47
Speaker
That was amazing.

Thrills at Thorpe Park: Stealth Coaster Race

00:24:48
Speaker
I think he may have had a part of making our morning so successful too.
00:24:53
Speaker
For sure.
00:24:53
Speaker
Definitely.
00:24:54
Speaker
Yeah.
00:24:54
Speaker
He was listening to his radio saying, okay, this one's up.
00:24:57
Speaker
It's going to be open on time.
00:24:59
Speaker
This is going to be up.
00:25:00
Speaker
So it was very helpful.
00:25:01
Speaker
But I think most people did the literal running of the bulls to stealth.
00:25:10
Speaker
That was wild.
00:25:13
Speaker
Yeah.
00:25:14
Speaker
I do.
00:25:14
Speaker
I can do a jog at rope drop, but like Brent shout out Brent, maybe Brent, bro.
00:25:24
Speaker
Where did you even go?
00:25:25
Speaker
Right.
00:25:25
Speaker
Because I think the previous days I hadn't really seen him at the beginning of the day.
00:25:29
Speaker
Like I was, I didn't realize that he was going to be such a rope drop King.
00:25:32
Speaker
Like he,
00:25:34
Speaker
He was anxious and ready to go.
00:25:36
Speaker
He gave me a run for my money, literally.
00:25:38
Speaker
He did, truly.
00:25:38
Speaker
He might be better at rope drop than me.
00:25:41
Speaker
And once he took off, because I was right there with him at the front of the group, I was like, okay, I'm doing it.
00:25:47
Speaker
Because I can sprint.
00:25:48
Speaker
I'm not a distance runner, but I can sprint pretty well.
00:25:50
Speaker
And somehow my little legs kept up with him.
00:25:53
Speaker
And then it was really funny because Craig was running behind me, like breathing so hard, trying to keep up.
00:26:00
Speaker
But, I mean, Brent and Tony made it into the front row of stealth and we made it into the back row.
00:26:05
Speaker
So we were the first people there for sure.
00:26:07
Speaker
And we I mean, the reason we were all running is because there was another horde of like the general attendance to the park who is rushing in as well.
00:26:14
Speaker
Yeah, I think a lot of those people ended up going to Hyperia, but that we were just trying to get some rides in before they all hit all the queues.
00:26:22
Speaker
And the funniest part of that was once we got to the queue,
00:26:25
Speaker
Brent did not stop running.
00:26:26
Speaker
He ran through the entire queue.
00:26:29
Speaker
Yeah.
00:26:30
Speaker
Like, dude, you won already.
00:26:31
Speaker
Slow down.
00:26:32
Speaker
He's like, it's not over until I get on that seat.
00:26:35
Speaker
That's the way he was thinking about it.
00:26:36
Speaker
Oh, and we kept going.
00:26:37
Speaker
Like after we left stealth, because I was with Brent and Tony for almost the entire day at Thorpe, like we were hauling for the rest of the morning.
00:26:45
Speaker
It was hilarious.
00:26:48
Speaker
Yeah.
00:26:49
Speaker
Good start to the day.
00:26:50
Speaker
Get your blood pumping a little bit.
00:26:52
Speaker
Give you some energy.
00:26:54
Speaker
I really did.
00:26:54
Speaker
Shout out to them for having the hydraulic launch coaster open at Rope Drop, too.
00:27:00
Speaker
Truly.
00:27:00
Speaker
That's kind of rare in my experience.
00:27:05
Speaker
Good for you, Thorpe.
00:27:08
Speaker
What did you guys think of Stealth?
00:27:10
Speaker
I loved it.
00:27:10
Speaker
I really enjoyed it.
00:27:14
Speaker
I miss OG Dragster so much.
00:27:17
Speaker
I love Accelerator, so Stealth sort of scratched that itch for me.
00:27:22
Speaker
It's very much like accelerator, like accelerator just has some turns after its drop, which really, to me, don't add a ton to the experience.
00:27:30
Speaker
So stealth is kind of the same idea.
00:27:33
Speaker
And actually it has that hop into the brakes, which is kind of nice because you get some airtime there too.
00:27:38
Speaker
Yeah.
00:27:39
Speaker
I think I prefer Accelerator and Stealth both run over their top hats faster than Dragster or Kingda Ka ever did.
00:27:47
Speaker
So you get more air on their top hats.
00:27:49
Speaker
For sure.
00:27:50
Speaker
Definitely.
00:27:51
Speaker
And more than Storm Runner too.
00:27:53
Speaker
Like Storm Runner, the launch is great, but it crawls a little bit over some of its other elements.
00:28:01
Speaker
I ride Storm Runner a lot.
00:28:03
Speaker
I think...
00:28:05
Speaker
I think I still probably, I don't know, that one's probably closest to stealth.
00:28:08
Speaker
I think I prefer all the other accelerators I've written to it, but I still really enjoyed it.
00:28:13
Speaker
I thought it was great.
00:28:14
Speaker
Yeah.
00:28:16
Speaker
Next, I think most of us went to Nemesis Inferno.
00:28:19
Speaker
I know I did.
00:28:21
Speaker
I don't have much to say about it.
00:28:23
Speaker
What do you guys think?
00:28:26
Speaker
Well, the queue is very long.
00:28:28
Speaker
It's so long.
00:28:29
Speaker
It is very long.
00:28:31
Speaker
It has nice use of the ride, I'll say.
00:28:33
Speaker
And it's got some landscaping and stuff, which is nice.
00:28:37
Speaker
The biggest surprise for me that I probably watched a POV years and years ago but did not recall at all was the pre-drop.

Nemesis Inferno: Mixed Opinions

00:28:45
Speaker
segment with the tunnel and like the little twisty like that was pretty neat that was the best part of the ride i was like wow this is so cool and smooth this is gonna be so great and i think the ride was pretty polarizing because i didn't really enjoy it yeah our group loved it i like i mean well i'd
00:29:03
Speaker
I don't know.
00:29:03
Speaker
I think this was already like, what, day five or six of our trip.
00:29:08
Speaker
I was dead.
00:29:08
Speaker
I was like falling asleep in the lines.
00:29:11
Speaker
And when I got on this, I don't, I honestly don't even remember it that much.
00:29:15
Speaker
I don't know if it's because of how tired I was, but the whole group loved it.
00:29:19
Speaker
So, I mean, I was like, oh, I mean, it was, it was fun, but I don't remember any of it.
00:29:23
Speaker
Not memorable.
00:29:24
Speaker
I enjoyed it, but yeah, I didn't think it was a standout per se.
00:29:29
Speaker
It very much felt like one of the Batman clones to me, which is definitely not my favorite style of invert.
00:29:36
Speaker
I thought it was unique.
00:29:40
Speaker
I enjoyed it.
00:29:40
Speaker
I thought it was unique.
00:29:41
Speaker
I liked just no cobra roll.
00:29:44
Speaker
I don't know.
00:29:45
Speaker
A little different layout.
00:29:46
Speaker
It had some nice terrain interactions and stuff.
00:29:52
Speaker
Seeming on point.
00:29:53
Speaker
Yes.
00:29:54
Speaker
Yeah.
00:29:55
Speaker
Yeah.
00:29:55
Speaker
Theming was pretty good most everywhere in the Spark.
00:29:58
Speaker
Yeah, and that's surprising because I really felt like Thorpe was going to be more of an amusement park because clearly they focus on their thrill, but they still do theme really well, much better than we do over here at our amusement parks.
00:30:09
Speaker
Yeah, I mean, maybe we should talk about that for the overall park experience because I feel like British people, British enthusiasts tend to talk Thorpe down as not a nice park.
00:30:23
Speaker
And comparatively, I understand where they're coming from because if you go to...
00:30:28
Speaker
paultons and chessington and alton and some of these other parks they have lots of trees and it's you know it's they're very pretty and i will say that the midways at thorpe are six flags-esque like they're not pretty it's asphalt there's not a ton of trees there's some water there's some water yeah
00:30:48
Speaker
But what I will say is that the big difference between Thorpe and a Six Flags is that the individual rides are much more themed than anything that a Six Flags would be, which is cool.
00:30:59
Speaker
So like maybe in between the rides, you're not getting as much of that immersion or like relaxing atmosphere.
00:31:06
Speaker
But the rides themselves, I thought were all better than I expected.
00:31:11
Speaker
Sure.
00:31:11
Speaker
And the queue experience and even exiting the ride.
00:31:14
Speaker
The whole entire experience for many of the rides is themed, which is nice.
00:31:19
Speaker
Yeah.
00:31:19
Speaker
I like that.
00:31:19
Speaker
Yeah.
00:31:21
Speaker
It seems like that's definitely a priority for the parks over there in general, right?
00:31:24
Speaker
To make sure that each ride experience has got its own unique theme and executed to a certain degree.
00:31:30
Speaker
Like there wasn't really any ride that had no theming at all.
00:31:34
Speaker
You know what I mean?
00:31:35
Speaker
Like everything had some sort of theming at least.
00:31:37
Speaker
Yeah.
00:31:38
Speaker
Yeah.
00:31:41
Speaker
All right, Kelly, where do we go next?
00:31:42
Speaker
I know you have written down, and I don't.
00:31:44
Speaker
No, I remember, but I didn't write anything down.
00:31:47
Speaker
Before we leave Nemesis, did we sit in the front of that, or am I making that up?
00:31:53
Speaker
Yeah, I think we waited for the front because there was only one extra train.
00:31:57
Speaker
Yeah.
00:31:57
Speaker
We did, too.
00:31:59
Speaker
Yeah.
00:31:59
Speaker
It was still very early.
00:32:01
Speaker
We got over there quick, so the crowds hadn't made it there yet.
00:32:04
Speaker
Yeah.
00:32:06
Speaker
Um, next we did saw, we were like walking past some of the other rides and then we saw that, like that ride was starting to get a queue.
00:32:15
Speaker
So we got in line and we ended up waiting a really long time for it anyways, but better than the, what it was like later after.
00:32:22
Speaker
Yeah.
00:32:22
Speaker
That was probably one of the worst cues of the day besides maybe Hyperia just because it's, you know, the main attraction really.
00:32:29
Speaker
Yeah.
00:32:30
Speaker
What did you guys think of saw?
00:32:31
Speaker
I really liked it.
00:32:32
Speaker
I know people are talking shit about it, but I think it's so good.
00:32:35
Speaker
Me too, I loved it.
00:32:37
Speaker
It was so fun.
00:32:39
Speaker
What just happened?
00:32:40
Speaker
Don't think you ignore me.
00:32:43
Speaker
My hand got stuck on the cord and I thought everything's good.
00:32:46
Speaker
Everything's fine.
00:32:47
Speaker
I was like, wow, you really like Saw.
00:32:49
Speaker
I did.
00:32:50
Speaker
I really did like Saw.
00:32:51
Speaker
This is a recurring theme for me on this trip is that a lot of coasters that get talked down in the UK are better than their reputation.
00:32:59
Speaker
Because I feel like the, the like, I don't know, all the UK enthusiasts hate saw it seems like that's the impression that I had going in.
00:33:07
Speaker
So I was fully prepared for like, the worst roughness on a Gerstlauer ever.
00:33:11
Speaker
Yes, same.
00:33:12
Speaker
And then I wrote it and I was like, what are they smoking?
00:33:15
Speaker
This is
00:33:15
Speaker
I'm so glad you guys are all saying this because I did like a quick little recap with Tom on Instagram and we had completely opposite opinions on every single ride at Port Park.
00:33:26
Speaker
Like it was like, he hated that.
00:33:28
Speaker
He loved Nemesis and Parental.
00:33:29
Speaker
I'm like, what is going on?
00:33:30
Speaker
I'm like, am I crazy?
00:33:32
Speaker
Because I feel like, Tyler, we felt pretty similar.
00:33:34
Speaker
We rode most of the rides together.
00:33:36
Speaker
But then I thought maybe you guys would feel different than us.
00:33:39
Speaker
But this is making you happy.
00:33:41
Speaker
I really enjoyed it.
00:33:43
Speaker
Did you guys do it?
00:33:44
Speaker
Because I did hear that some people didn't enjoy it in the front row, which I got a back row ride.
00:33:50
Speaker
That was the one ride that I got.
00:33:51
Speaker
I was in the back, too.
00:33:52
Speaker
We did both, actually.
00:33:53
Speaker
Yeah, I did it twice.
00:33:55
Speaker
Yeah, Kelly and I did it twice.
00:33:56
Speaker
Back was awesome.
00:33:58
Speaker
That was our first ride.
00:33:59
Speaker
We did come back and ride it in the front later.
00:34:02
Speaker
I still liked it, but it was definitely rough and headbangy.
00:34:06
Speaker
I hit the head probably twice.
00:34:07
Speaker
That's so interesting.
00:34:09
Speaker
I feel like I only remember one spot being particularly rough.
00:34:13
Speaker
It was like a turn to the left at something.
00:34:15
Speaker
I don't remember exactly where I am, but I had my...
00:34:18
Speaker
I had my arm up.
00:34:20
Speaker
Tom and I were sitting together and he went low and I went high with the arm and like, I like hit myself in the side of the head because I was holding the headrest thing up there.
00:34:28
Speaker
So I didn't bang my head outside of on my fist on something.
00:34:31
Speaker
You know, I'm not, I'm not good at the game, I guess.
00:34:33
Speaker
So,
00:34:35
Speaker
I really tried not to look at, like, I don't think I really knew much about the layout of any of these rides on purpose.
00:34:40
Speaker
Normally I used to watch POVs, but I don't really do that before I ride rides anymore.
00:34:44
Speaker
And I'm so glad because I felt like this layout was so unique for Gerstlauer.
00:34:47
Speaker
Like I had a lot of little tricks and surprises and there was some air time.
00:34:51
Speaker
Yeah.
00:34:52
Speaker
obviously the theming yeah airtime hill was wild that airtime blew me out the water like that dollywood has the same thing where like it does a little drop right at the beginning of the ride but saw's drop at the beginning was like whoa i was not expecting that and then you hit the midcourse and drop off of that and you like die getting ejected off the midcourse yes yeah it's crazy it was equally concerning it's like that looks like it is going way too freaking fast yeah
00:35:21
Speaker
I'm glad you guys all liked it though.
00:35:23
Speaker
Cause I feel like the majority opinion was that people did not enjoy it on the trip.

Strategies for Using Quick Queue

00:35:28
Speaker
I would have written again if the line wasn't so long.
00:35:30
Speaker
Like we, we, we did pay the point to skip it.
00:35:33
Speaker
And yeah, it was closed and then reopened and we were just sitting there.
00:35:39
Speaker
So that's why we did it a second time.
00:35:41
Speaker
But did you guys get through the day?
00:35:43
Speaker
Like, what did you guys do with quick cue for this day?
00:35:46
Speaker
Like, what was your situation?
00:35:48
Speaker
Did anybody buy the Coasters one?
00:35:52
Speaker
We bought the Coasters one.
00:35:54
Speaker
What did we do?
00:35:57
Speaker
I mean, I think we used it.
00:35:59
Speaker
We honestly used it for most.
00:36:00
Speaker
I think we waited...
00:36:05
Speaker
Yeah, we actually used it for every coaster.
00:36:06
Speaker
Now that I think about it, I think Hyperia was the only line that we waited in and we can't use that for that.
00:36:11
Speaker
Right.
00:36:12
Speaker
So, yeah, I mean, we were pretty good with that.
00:36:15
Speaker
I mean, it saved us a lot of time and it gave us enough time to like really explore the park a little bit more.
00:36:22
Speaker
But yeah, I think this I think besides that long because we did wait like
00:36:27
Speaker
I want to say it was like two hours for Hyperia.
00:36:30
Speaker
Yeah.
00:36:30
Speaker
So we waited a while and we got rained on while we were waiting there.
00:36:33
Speaker
So that was fun.
00:36:34
Speaker
That's right.
00:36:34
Speaker
I forgot about that.
00:36:36
Speaker
Yeah.
00:36:37
Speaker
And so, yeah, we were in line for about two hours or almost two hours.
00:36:42
Speaker
But yeah, after that, we're like, nope, we paid for these passes.
00:36:45
Speaker
Let's use it up.
00:36:47
Speaker
And we were able to get through everything pretty quickly, actually.
00:36:50
Speaker
So that saved us a lot of time.
00:36:52
Speaker
What was your strategy, Scott?
00:36:53
Speaker
We did Saw on the quick queue or the one shot.
00:36:59
Speaker
And then we bought them for Colossus too because it was like a 60-minute listed wait.
00:37:04
Speaker
And then it went down.
00:37:06
Speaker
And then as we were walking out of the queue to go over to Saw because our time for that ride was coming up, it started testing.
00:37:14
Speaker
So then we went back to Colossus and just walked into the front row through the quick queue line and nobody ever scanned anything.
00:37:20
Speaker
There was no one even there.
00:37:22
Speaker
So I felt a little weird about that, but it enabled the quick cues to be passed along.
00:37:27
Speaker
And then we also bought a one shot for Hyperia as well.
00:37:31
Speaker
Okay.
00:37:32
Speaker
So you were all a one shot.
00:37:33
Speaker
So you used three of them.
00:37:34
Speaker
Yeah, three one-shots.
00:37:35
Speaker
I think it was a total of like $45 across all three of them.
00:37:38
Speaker
Yeah, that sounds about right.
00:37:40
Speaker
I totally forgot about Colossus.
00:37:42
Speaker
I remember we waited with you for that one, Joey.
00:37:44
Speaker
That one did take a while.
00:37:45
Speaker
It said 25 minutes, and I think it was longer than that.
00:37:47
Speaker
It was a little slow.
00:37:48
Speaker
It was probably $35, $40-ish.
00:37:49
Speaker
It wasn't terrible.
00:37:50
Speaker
Yeah, it wasn't terrible.
00:37:53
Speaker
Our strategy going in was like the five coasters.
00:37:58
Speaker
One was just kind of expensive for us per ride because I think it was like $80 or something.
00:38:03
Speaker
And so we went in saying like, we're just going to assess the day and we'll buy it if we feel like we need to.
00:38:09
Speaker
But after we freaking sprinted to stealth in the morning, I think we got the first four or five coasters done in like 60 to 90 minutes.
00:38:16
Speaker
So we were like, we're good.
00:38:17
Speaker
Like we're going to be able to make it through this day.
00:38:19
Speaker
And then the only thing that we we do used one one shot because the sock you is so long and we were like, let's just we know it's low capacity.
00:38:27
Speaker
The queue is going to move slowly.
00:38:28
Speaker
Let's just use it for this.
00:38:29
Speaker
So we spent 20 bucks in total on our one shots.
00:38:32
Speaker
And that was the only thing that we did for Hyperia.
00:38:35
Speaker
We did the single rider line.
00:38:37
Speaker
I think it was posted 60 something at the time.
00:38:42
Speaker
And we waited 25 minutes in the single rider.
00:38:44
Speaker
So that worked pretty well.
00:38:46
Speaker
Nice.
00:38:46
Speaker
Nice.
00:38:47
Speaker
Yeah.
00:38:48
Speaker
But other than that, I think the longest we waited was Colossus with you guys, like about 40 minutes.
00:38:52
Speaker
Everything else we got through pretty quick.
00:38:54
Speaker
Yeah, I think we did.
00:38:55
Speaker
We did stealth and then I want to say Nemesis Inferno, which we walked right on to.
00:38:59
Speaker
And then we went to Swarm and we waited in that line, but we still had those three down in the first hour, you know, maybe 45 minutes.
00:39:07
Speaker
So, you know, at that point, you're ahead of the game, so to speak, right?
00:39:13
Speaker
And Walking Dead.
00:39:14
Speaker
We did Walking Dead in that first hour as well.
00:39:16
Speaker
Yeah, I think that was the third thing that we did.
00:39:18
Speaker
That was interesting.
00:39:21
Speaker
The queue experience is definitely like part of the attraction kind of.
00:39:26
Speaker
Yeah, yeah, definitely.
00:39:27
Speaker
It's very dark in there and they're trying to like be scary.
00:39:31
Speaker
I think there used to be live actors and part of that queue and they don't do that anymore, but it would have been cool if there were.
00:39:35
Speaker
Yeah.
00:39:37
Speaker
Yeah.
00:39:37
Speaker
I enjoyed it just because of the experience.
00:39:39
Speaker
The ride was whatever, obviously.
00:39:41
Speaker
Right.
00:39:41
Speaker
Yeah.
00:39:42
Speaker
The coaster part was whatever besides like that one break run that did something kind of unexpected.
00:39:47
Speaker
Yeah.
00:39:48
Speaker
That was weird.
00:39:52
Speaker
What else do we have?
00:39:53
Speaker
Colossus.
00:39:53
Speaker
What did we think about that?

Colossus and Swarm Ride Impressions

00:39:57
Speaker
I didn't hate it as much as everybody did.
00:39:58
Speaker
Yeah.
00:39:59
Speaker
I didn't mind it.
00:40:00
Speaker
It wasn't good, but it wasn't rough.
00:40:03
Speaker
Yeah.
00:40:03
Speaker
It was fine for me.
00:40:04
Speaker
I would have written it again.
00:40:06
Speaker
Yeah, I got no headbanging.
00:40:07
Speaker
I rode it once in the front row.
00:40:09
Speaker
I thought it was fun.
00:40:10
Speaker
Definitely unique.
00:40:11
Speaker
The seat depth was the only uncomfortable part of it for me.
00:40:17
Speaker
It wasn't the headbanging at all, which is what I expected.
00:40:20
Speaker
But it was like a miniature Maverick seat, you know?
00:40:24
Speaker
That was worse than a skyrocket, too.
00:40:26
Speaker
I think that's the worst train I've ever had to get in and out of.
00:40:29
Speaker
Oh, yeah.
00:40:30
Speaker
Getting across it was rough.
00:40:32
Speaker
When I went to put my like fanny pack on the other side, I was like, I, yeah.
00:40:38
Speaker
I was dying laughing watching train try to do it.
00:40:41
Speaker
It was like trying to like squeeze in between.
00:40:43
Speaker
I was like, you're going to have to go under.
00:40:45
Speaker
You're going to have to go under.
00:40:46
Speaker
Yeah.
00:40:48
Speaker
the the restraints are so bulky for over the shoulders it's wild but yeah i the i thought the full four roles were fun and there was like a little air time in it and i don't know i thought it was yeah but the reputation it has again like it's over hated for what amongst our group though too i feel like so many people are like this is bottom 10 it's so awful it's like a lot of people got headbanged and i was like prepared for that so i just kind of put my head front yeah yeah
00:41:14
Speaker
We also had like the one little like half hour moment of like pretty heavy rain happened while we were on the ride.
00:41:22
Speaker
So my eyeballs were not open.
00:41:24
Speaker
Oh, I also like didn't really see anything.
00:41:28
Speaker
I was in the queue for flying fish during that.
00:41:30
Speaker
That was great.
00:41:31
Speaker
We're just getting rained on.
00:41:33
Speaker
Yeah, but it was like 10 minutes.
00:41:35
Speaker
It was fine.
00:41:36
Speaker
No.
00:41:36
Speaker
Yeah, it really didn't didn't hurt the day that much at all.
00:41:40
Speaker
What do you guys think of swarm?
00:41:45
Speaker
I thought it was fine.
00:41:46
Speaker
It wasn't very memorable.
00:41:49
Speaker
It was cool.
00:41:50
Speaker
Emma had talked it up, and yeah, it was fine.
00:41:54
Speaker
I thought it paced well through its own.
00:41:57
Speaker
I guess I'm just used to the wing coasters having that kind of moment that kills the ride.
00:42:03
Speaker
I haven't ridden a ton of them, so that might be part of it, but there's no brake run.
00:42:08
Speaker
So that was the thing.
00:42:10
Speaker
Yeah, this is the second one that I've ever done because I've only done Thunderbird.
00:42:13
Speaker
And that's amazing.
00:42:16
Speaker
Yeah, it's definitely no Thunderbird, but honestly, it was better than I expected it to be.
00:42:23
Speaker
I definitely like it better than X-Flight.
00:42:26
Speaker
I thought that for some reason, the drop was like better than the other wing over drops to me.
00:42:31
Speaker
It had like more pull and more air to it.
00:42:35
Speaker
I didn't get that full.
00:42:37
Speaker
It fully rolled you over.
00:42:38
Speaker
There's a moment of hang time before the drop.
00:42:42
Speaker
Whereas you kind of roll.
00:42:44
Speaker
It doesn't do that full 90 degree rotation on the other one.
00:42:47
Speaker
And then you get some float on the way down.
00:42:49
Speaker
Which was nice.
00:42:51
Speaker
And I also really liked the final roll.
00:42:53
Speaker
The profiling on it feels different than some of the other wings.
00:42:56
Speaker
It's very in line.
00:42:59
Speaker
There's no heart lining to that at all.
00:43:01
Speaker
And that felt interesting.
00:43:02
Speaker
It was kind of cool.
00:43:03
Speaker
But then after that is though I hate that there's like a break and then you go through a big turn and
00:43:09
Speaker
I'm like, why did they do this?
00:43:10
Speaker
Yeah.
00:43:12
Speaker
Candemonium does that too.
00:43:13
Speaker
And it's annoying.
00:43:14
Speaker
I love the theme though.
00:43:15
Speaker
I think it's really cool.
00:43:16
Speaker
Like the station and the props.
00:43:18
Speaker
I think it was fine.
00:43:19
Speaker
It was just kind of like not super memorable amongst the wings.
00:43:22
Speaker
I have it like ranked.
00:43:23
Speaker
Cause I went through all of my like lists and stuff.
00:43:26
Speaker
When I got home, I have it like in the middle.
00:43:27
Speaker
I have it under Thunderbird and gatekeeper and rap Tara actually.
00:43:31
Speaker
And I have it above wild evil and X flight, but that's fair.
00:43:35
Speaker
Yeah.
00:43:35
Speaker
Like not memorable.
00:43:38
Speaker
All right.
00:43:38
Speaker
How about what is probably unanimously the highlight coaster of the day?

Hyperia: A New Favorite

00:43:43
Speaker
Hyperia.
00:43:43
Speaker
What do you guys think?
00:43:46
Speaker
Overrated?
00:43:47
Speaker
Underrated?
00:43:47
Speaker
Didn't know what to expect?
00:43:51
Speaker
I think I kept my expectations pretty low because I didn't, I wanted to love it so much.
00:43:56
Speaker
I'm just, I just love new mock.
00:43:58
Speaker
So I think I was still surprised by certain parts of it.
00:44:03
Speaker
I had heard it had gotten rattly, which it definitely was.
00:44:09
Speaker
I loved it.
00:44:10
Speaker
I just, yeah.
00:44:12
Speaker
Yeah.
00:44:13
Speaker
I loved it.
00:44:13
Speaker
I didn't, I went into it pretty blindly.
00:44:16
Speaker
I didn't, I tried to stay away from POVs.
00:44:18
Speaker
I think the only time I ever saw a POV was like when it first opened and then I never saw it again.
00:44:23
Speaker
So I really didn't remember any of it.
00:44:25
Speaker
Um,
00:44:26
Speaker
But I mean, I was excited for it, but I don't know.
00:44:29
Speaker
I just didn't I didn't hype it up too much for myself, which I appreciate because I feel like I enjoyed it more because of that.
00:44:36
Speaker
And of course, the ERT just added on to that.
00:44:40
Speaker
Yeah, I felt similarly like I think there had been a lot of negativity about the length of the ride.
00:44:48
Speaker
um and i disagree with to be honest like it is not super long but i couldn't handle it if it was much longer yeah yeah i think it's the right like the right length i don't think it needs to be longer than that honestly like it would be cool if it was but i'm not mad at what it is and i just remember like we waited single rider i got like row five or six i don't know something in the middle of the train and after riding it i was like
00:45:11
Speaker
Oh, this ERT about to slap like even in the middle of the train, it was that good.
00:45:16
Speaker
It's like, OK, this is going to be amazing.
00:45:19
Speaker
And I think maybe like part of our complaints about the ride length
00:45:24
Speaker
Like if you wait two hours for it and then you ride it, that is what it is.
00:45:29
Speaker
And it's over so quickly, but we got to ride it for an hour with the most amazing operations we've ever seen.
00:45:37
Speaker
Like that was crazy.
00:45:40
Speaker
Honestly, after waiting two hours though, earlier on, I felt like it was still worth it.
00:45:44
Speaker
Like I still, I thought it was great.
00:45:47
Speaker
So I don't, even with that being the case, I think,
00:45:51
Speaker
Without ERT, it's still a pretty great coaster.
00:45:54
Speaker
I loved it.
00:45:55
Speaker
Yeah.
00:45:56
Speaker
Yeah.
00:45:56
Speaker
I thought it was awesome.
00:45:57
Speaker
I try to not hype myself up too much for it, but then when you walk across that bridge and it was just such a dominating thing in the skyline, then that outer bank just looks so cool from the entrance of the park.
00:46:09
Speaker
I got pretty excited at that point.
00:46:12
Speaker
Yeah.
00:46:13
Speaker
I think that it's definitely long enough for what it is, for how intense some of the elements are and how long and drawn out some of the elements are.
00:46:22
Speaker
But I get why that opening...
00:46:25
Speaker
hype or the opening critique of it was that because imagine if you waited in a line that was all the way back to the entrance of the park or something you know what I mean you wait a five hour line and then it's that short of a ride I can see why some people came away with that opinion initially but it's an incredible roller coaster you know yeah I mean it's world class like it's yeah it's 100% a top 10 for me
00:46:46
Speaker
I tried to keep myself in check, but I did get a little giddy in the line.
00:46:50
Speaker
Like, I feel like the more I travel, there are less and less coasters that, like, are going to leave that kind of lasting impression.
00:46:58
Speaker
And I realized that.
00:46:59
Speaker
So, like, I let myself get excited for those moments because they're, like, don't happen often anymore, you know?
00:47:04
Speaker
Yeah.
00:47:04
Speaker
Like, this is going to be sick.
00:47:06
Speaker
Yeah.
00:47:06
Speaker
Regardless, but...
00:47:08
Speaker
One of the things I like about it is it's so isolated in the corner that they built it.
00:47:13
Speaker
It feels massive.
00:47:16
Speaker
Like when you're going 100% because there's just nothing nearby it to give it the context of the height.
00:47:21
Speaker
Like when you're at Blackpool, which is a very similar height, the big one is a very similar height that doesn't feel anywhere near as tall because there's so much other stuff that's like right next to it.
00:47:31
Speaker
But man, going up that going up that lift hill when you get to the top, you're like, this thing feels
00:47:36
Speaker
huge and watching the planes pass by was crazy too that was that was pretty great yeah it's so close to LHR and yeah just like every time you're going up the lift there's these planes flying right by you and yeah it's cool yeah
00:47:49
Speaker
The one train I think was definitely smoother than the other one.
00:47:51
Speaker
The one that we stayed on for multiple rides in a row.
00:47:54
Speaker
Joey.
00:47:55
Speaker
Yeah.
00:47:55
Speaker
This is the smooth train.
00:47:57
Speaker
So three rides in a row.
00:47:58
Speaker
We were like, should we?
00:48:01
Speaker
And then we rode it three times in a row.
00:48:02
Speaker
And I was like, I think I need to walk around because the ride is kind of intense.
00:48:06
Speaker
And I was like, you said that while we were in the stall.
00:48:09
Speaker
Yeah.
00:48:10
Speaker
You're like, I think we need to walk around after this ride.
00:48:12
Speaker
Yeah.
00:48:14
Speaker
On the stall, you know.
00:48:15
Speaker
Which, speaking of that stall, that's probably my number one stall now.
00:48:19
Speaker
It's really freaking good.
00:48:21
Speaker
It was really good.
00:48:23
Speaker
Yeah.
00:48:24
Speaker
How many rides did you guys get?
00:48:27
Speaker
20, I think.
00:48:28
Speaker
Dang.
00:48:28
Speaker
I did 21, yeah.
00:48:30
Speaker
I think I was about 12.
00:48:31
Speaker
I definitely took like a 15, 20 minute break there in the middle of the RT.
00:48:35
Speaker
Yeah, I got 15.
00:48:36
Speaker
Yeah.
00:48:37
Speaker
What did Blake say he did? 31.
00:48:39
Speaker
How?
00:48:40
Speaker
He was probably just bopping between empty seats.
00:48:43
Speaker
Yeah, he knows what to do.
00:48:45
Speaker
I think he said he got like 16 without getting off the train or something crazy.
00:48:49
Speaker
Yeah.
00:48:50
Speaker
No, when I say how, I'm not saying like how did he manage to get sick?
00:48:53
Speaker
Physically.
00:48:54
Speaker
It's like how, exactly.
00:48:55
Speaker
How did he do that?
00:48:56
Speaker
He's a kid.
00:48:59
Speaker
Yeah.
00:49:00
Speaker
Literally double his age.
00:49:02
Speaker
That's insane.
00:49:05
Speaker
Shout out to those wild ops during ERT though.
00:49:07
Speaker
They were going so quick.
00:49:10
Speaker
Was it 55 dispatches?
00:49:12
Speaker
54.
00:49:12
Speaker
54.
00:49:12
Speaker
54 dispatches in an hour, and their previous record was 45.
00:49:17
Speaker
So we beat it by nine trains.
00:49:21
Speaker
That's incredible.
00:49:22
Speaker
Which is wild.
00:49:23
Speaker
They were wild.
00:49:24
Speaker
They were so excited about it, too, which I think was so great.
00:49:27
Speaker
And it added to the experience, which, I mean, I don't want to talk about the next ERT yet, but I don't know.
00:49:32
Speaker
I feel like the energy here, it just felt like they were ready to just get them going, you know?
00:49:38
Speaker
Yeah, they were running it like they were like, yeah, you want to send these trains out fast and we get to ride this more than that's amazing.
00:49:44
Speaker
Yes.
00:49:45
Speaker
Yeah.
00:49:46
Speaker
And they were sending them out so quickly that at one point the lift had to jog and stop because the earlier train hadn't cleared the brake run yet.
00:49:55
Speaker
Yeah.
00:49:55
Speaker
Yeah.
00:49:56
Speaker
There were times that the station was just empty for like 20 seconds because they were sending the train out so fast the next one wasn't there.
00:50:02
Speaker
And to be clear, it was very safe.
00:50:05
Speaker
Like I never felt like I wasn't checked.
00:50:07
Speaker
Like they did their job.
00:50:09
Speaker
It was really well done.
00:50:10
Speaker
They just did it very quickly.
00:50:12
Speaker
It's one of those things like we had to quickly realize like, oh, wait, like we don't need to put our bags up every single time.
00:50:18
Speaker
And then once we just kind of left stuff there, we were rolling.
00:50:20
Speaker
We were.
00:50:21
Speaker
Yeah, we probably could have done another two trains if we had that strategy from the beginning.
00:50:25
Speaker
Yeah, for sure.
00:50:26
Speaker
For sure.
00:50:29
Speaker
I think that when they sold that coaster to Thorpe too, that the theoretical capacity was a thousand rides an hour.
00:50:35
Speaker
I'm pretty sure that 54 dispatches is over 1,300.
00:50:40
Speaker
I think we beat the theoretical capacity.
00:50:43
Speaker
It's 132% of the theoretical capacity.
00:50:45
Speaker
We didn't just beat it.
00:50:46
Speaker
It was by a third of the theoretical capacity.
00:50:49
Speaker
It's so wild to me.
00:50:51
Speaker
Someone call Roland Mock.
00:50:53
Speaker
We did it.
00:50:56
Speaker
You get it.
00:50:57
Speaker
That's crazy.
00:50:57
Speaker
Yeah, that was easily the coaster highlight of the trip, I think.
00:51:02
Speaker
100%.
00:51:02
Speaker
And it might be the Buzz Bars coaster highlight for a while.
00:51:07
Speaker
That's going to be legendary.
00:51:08
Speaker
I don't know how we're going to top that, honestly.
00:51:11
Speaker
Yeah.
00:51:11
Speaker
That was really hard.
00:51:14
Speaker
Let's back up a little

Thorpe's VP Q&A: Hyperia Insights

00:51:16
Speaker
bit, though.
00:51:16
Speaker
Before ERT, we had a great Q&A session.
00:51:20
Speaker
Yeah, that was awesome.
00:51:21
Speaker
Yeah.
00:51:21
Speaker
So they brought us back into that little building that we met in the morning, sort of while Hyperion line cleared out before they could give us ERT.
00:51:29
Speaker
But we had a little PowerPoint presentation from, I guess he was the head of marketing.
00:51:34
Speaker
I don't recall his name.
00:51:35
Speaker
I don't know if he's the VP of merchandise, I think.
00:51:38
Speaker
VP of merch.
00:51:38
Speaker
Yeah.
00:51:38
Speaker
Sorry.
00:51:39
Speaker
Merchandise.
00:51:39
Speaker
That's what I meant.
00:51:41
Speaker
But yeah, I really enjoyed what he had to say.
00:51:43
Speaker
We've had some talks before in the past about rides and people from operations, which is interesting.
00:51:49
Speaker
But to see this different angle from the merchandise standpoint, I thought it was really cool to hear what he had to say about how the Hyperia merchandise came to be and how the ride came to be also.
00:52:00
Speaker
Yeah, he was very passionate about it, which was like cool to see.
00:52:03
Speaker
It made me think like about our parks at home.
00:52:06
Speaker
You look at some of that merch and it's like, like who like decided this?
00:52:10
Speaker
And do they have a team like this man leads that has these like conversations?
00:52:15
Speaker
Because like, I don't know, like you could tell like so much time and effort and thought was put into the whole branding around Hyperion.
00:52:22
Speaker
It's like, do they do that over here for things?
00:52:25
Speaker
Yeah, definitely don't at certain Six Flags parks.
00:52:27
Speaker
Yeah.
00:52:28
Speaker
Yeah, that's for sure.
00:52:28
Speaker
There's like no ride merch at all.
00:52:31
Speaker
Yeah.
00:52:31
Speaker
Yeah.
00:52:32
Speaker
He was also very forthcoming about some things, which was kind of hilarious.
00:52:35
Speaker
Like he gave us the tea for sure on something.
00:52:38
Speaker
He did.
00:52:39
Speaker
Definitely cheeky about some of it for sure.
00:52:42
Speaker
And he's definitely an industry person, which is, it's always cool.
00:52:45
Speaker
Like when you see somebody who's working in the industry who appreciates it and is keeping track of it because he was making comments about Epic Universe.
00:52:54
Speaker
And obviously that's, you know, something that's on their minds.
00:52:57
Speaker
and comments about the new universal property that's coming to England.
00:53:01
Speaker
And so that's all like, they're very like on top of kind of what the trends are and what the industry is doing.
00:53:06
Speaker
And it's always cool to hear from people like that who know what's going on.
00:53:10
Speaker
For sure.
00:53:10
Speaker
And just to be clear, my guy preferred Stardust Racers to his own ride Hyperion.
00:53:15
Speaker
He did say that.
00:53:16
Speaker
That's hilarious.
00:53:17
Speaker
He did say there could be some recency bias and the fact that it's his home park as Hyperion.
00:53:25
Speaker
But I think his speech worked because I'm pretty sure about half of us bought a t-shirt before we left from the shop.
00:53:34
Speaker
I regret not getting anything.
00:53:36
Speaker
I thought I was going to find something in Alton Towers, and I didn't.
00:53:40
Speaker
And I'm so pissed off about that, and I wish I would have gotten a Hyperia shirt.
00:53:44
Speaker
I think he said they're available online because somebody was asking about something and he was like, oh, it's sold out right now.
00:53:50
Speaker
They sold out quickly, but look for them online.
00:53:52
Speaker
So I guess maybe they have a... Oh, that's my Hyperia pin.
00:53:58
Speaker
It says Thor Park.
00:53:59
Speaker
It's hard to tell with the lighting, but it's... Ooh, I like that.
00:54:02
Speaker
Question for you all except Tyler.
00:54:06
Speaker
Do you prefer Hyperia or Stardust?
00:54:08
Speaker
Tell me.
00:54:09
Speaker
Oh, I was wondering why you excluded Tyler.
00:54:13
Speaker
Really?
00:54:15
Speaker
So I had to think about this a lot.
00:54:20
Speaker
Yeah, and I put Hyperia above it.
00:54:22
Speaker
Hyperia.
00:54:24
Speaker
Hyperia.
00:54:25
Speaker
I knew you would.
00:54:27
Speaker
I didn't have to think about it at all.
00:54:29
Speaker
I'm Stardust over Hyperia.
00:54:32
Speaker
At first, I was like, no, Stardust is better.
00:54:35
Speaker
There's no way.
00:54:36
Speaker
And then 15 rides later, I'm like, this is too good.
00:54:43
Speaker
I don't know.
00:54:43
Speaker
I feel like I would not stay on Stardust for 15 rides.
00:54:50
Speaker
That's how I kind of thought about it.
00:54:52
Speaker
I was like, I don't think I would do it that many times.
00:54:54
Speaker
And then Hyperia was just so great for 15 rides.
00:54:57
Speaker
I wouldn't have expected myself to do that to my body for that long.
00:55:01
Speaker
I don't think I would do the same for Stardust, honestly.
00:55:06
Speaker
Tyler, we will revisit this.
00:55:07
Speaker
I was going to say, ask me in September.
00:55:11
Speaker
I can't wait for you to finally go.
00:55:12
Speaker
We need an episode just for your epic universe recap.
00:55:16
Speaker
Like your, your real recap.
00:55:18
Speaker
Yeah.
00:55:18
Speaker
My actual first visit.
00:55:20
Speaker
Yes.
00:55:21
Speaker
I cannot wait for that.
00:55:23
Speaker
We're going to have to split that up too.
00:55:24
Speaker
Cause it's going to come along with our HHN weekend.
00:55:26
Speaker
So we're going to have to.
00:55:29
Speaker
Shay just texted me right now.
00:55:30
Speaker
She's like, Hyperia is better, which.
00:55:36
Speaker
oh my gosh that's so funny I feel like most people probably do think that and I understand but not me both are great did you guys all rank did you rank if you rank your coasters where did you rank Hyperia where did I rank it I don't rank but that's gotta be top 15 probably somewhere in there I put it at number 12 I put it at 5 actually
00:56:02
Speaker
i have it at nine nine i don't i don't rank but i go it's s tier you know i i put them in you know stardust velocicoaster hyperia guazi maverick like you know s tier rides joey did you prefer it to voltron
00:56:21
Speaker
Ooh, that's a good question.
00:56:23
Speaker
Um, yes.
00:56:25
Speaker
Me too.
00:56:26
Speaker
Yeah.
00:56:27
Speaker
Just because the consistency of Ultron's rides is not there.
00:56:31
Speaker
Like I got some bad rides on.
00:56:34
Speaker
And
00:56:35
Speaker
Even though it's much shorter, the flow of Hyperia is uninterrupted.
00:56:41
Speaker
Because Voltron has the turntable kind of stop in the middle, which makes it feel like it's great.
00:56:46
Speaker
It is super graceful between elements.
00:56:49
Speaker
I just wish that there wasn't that break turned into the mini outer bank.
00:56:55
Speaker
I wish it was just a straight airtime hill and then a helix with a break in it or something like that instead of that.
00:57:03
Speaker
Like if it just went out and then back one more quick, not even, not even back up to the height or anything, just like a little small airtime hill there, I think would have been.
00:57:12
Speaker
Just watching the ride though.
00:57:13
Speaker
Like imagining if that trim wasn't there, you would die on that overbank after that.
00:57:19
Speaker
Yeah.
00:57:20
Speaker
Oh, for sure.
00:57:22
Speaker
Yeah.
00:57:22
Speaker
All right.
00:57:26
Speaker
Anything else on Thorpe?
00:57:28
Speaker
Ghost Train?
00:57:29
Speaker
Did anybody do

Ghost Train Experience

00:57:30
Speaker
that?
00:57:30
Speaker
Oh, Ghost Train!
00:57:32
Speaker
I forgot.
00:57:33
Speaker
Oh my gosh, yeah, I forgot about that.
00:57:35
Speaker
What a strange attraction.
00:57:38
Speaker
I completely missed it, so tell me.
00:57:40
Speaker
Oh my god.
00:57:41
Speaker
I missed it too.
00:57:42
Speaker
It's...
00:57:44
Speaker
How do you even describe it?
00:57:46
Speaker
I mean, I went to go right by myself because I wanted to, but then it just like it shut down or something.
00:57:51
Speaker
I waited in the line for 40 minutes and walked out.
00:57:53
Speaker
We caught it like right before.
00:57:54
Speaker
We were in there when it shut down.
00:57:56
Speaker
The only comparison I can give probably is Nemesis Subterra in the fact that it's an experience that's very hard to describe.
00:58:06
Speaker
Yeah, what was interesting to me is Caleb, our friend from Thorpe Park, was telling us, let me know what you think about it.
00:58:14
Speaker
Because there is a when the Imagineers were building Rise of the Resistance, they came to experience Ghost Train, because they wanted to utilize some of the technology.
00:58:26
Speaker
Obviously, it's much different.
00:58:28
Speaker
But
00:58:29
Speaker
I totally was thinking that the whole time and what it is, is, and sorry if this is a spoiler for anyone, it's a whole experience.
00:58:35
Speaker
There's a pre-show, but the bulk of the attraction is you sit on what's like a subway train and the actors, there's live actors, they come in and it's a big old spooky thing.
00:58:46
Speaker
But clearly this train is not moving like in a way that a train would, but it feels like it is.
00:58:52
Speaker
So if you've done Rise of the Resistance, the part of the ride where you are being moved from the pre-show into the actual like queue before the Trackless Dark ride.
00:59:04
Speaker
So you get in that ship and they're like, it kind of feels like it's moving, but clearly it's the elevator part where it's like taking you into the Stormtrooper room.
00:59:11
Speaker
So yeah.
00:59:12
Speaker
That is kind of what I was gathering.
00:59:15
Speaker
Like it felt like on Ghost Train you were moving a little bit, but it was clearly just how the like visuals around the train were and whatever they did underneath it to make it feel like it was moving in that direction, but it wasn't actually.
00:59:30
Speaker
But yeah, it was like an experience where there was a whole story, but there were live actors.
00:59:34
Speaker
I think people had different experiences.
00:59:36
Speaker
We had a really good actor, specifically one of the two guys.
00:59:40
Speaker
who was like moving very interesting.
00:59:44
Speaker
Like they came into the pre-show and then they kind of like guided us through the rest of the attraction.
00:59:47
Speaker
It was like a multi-piece.
00:59:50
Speaker
We got in the train subway thing.
00:59:52
Speaker
We got out.
00:59:53
Speaker
There was a little more stuff and we got back in it.
00:59:56
Speaker
I really liked it because it was spooky, but I could see how it gets mixed reviews.
01:00:01
Speaker
That actor was so talented.
01:00:03
Speaker
It was almost like this ride is below him.
01:00:06
Speaker
He needs to be doing something bigger.
01:00:08
Speaker
He was really good.
01:00:10
Speaker
Yes, I was thinking that too.
01:00:11
Speaker
I know some of the UK locals were saying how they just do not enjoy it at all, which I'm not saying I need... If I was a local to Thorpe Park, I would not do it every time.
01:00:22
Speaker
It's something you definitely need to go if you're doing...
01:00:25
Speaker
do if you're going once, but it's not something you need to redo every time.
01:00:29
Speaker
As a spooky person, it was a really good experience.
01:00:34
Speaker
Very unique for a theme park also.
01:00:36
Speaker
Yeah, I feel like it's... When we did it, we went in and
01:00:41
Speaker
There was the whole pre-show and then we went over to the train and then we went into the next room that had their whole little part.
01:00:52
Speaker
I don't know what that was, but they had like a little mini show in there as well.
01:00:56
Speaker
And then that's where it stopped.
01:00:57
Speaker
Like there was like a technical difficulty.
01:00:59
Speaker
Then the power, you know, the lights went on and then they had us in there for like 20 minutes, almost like 20, 25 minutes.
01:01:07
Speaker
Yeah.
01:01:07
Speaker
And then eventually they were like, okay, we're gonna have to get you guys out because there was an issue, whatever.
01:01:12
Speaker
So they took us out and we were waiting for them to reopen.
01:01:17
Speaker
And luckily we were able to go back in when they reopened and we were able to see the rest of it, which I didn't know that you went back into the train.
01:01:24
Speaker
And there was like a whole other part to this story, which terrified me because we were sitting right at the, at the end of the train and, um,
01:01:35
Speaker
in that part, like, was it like a nun?
01:01:37
Speaker
Do you remember somebody dressed in like a nun costume or something?
01:01:41
Speaker
They run out of the side and we were sitting right there and it scared the crap out of us.
01:01:47
Speaker
It's ridiculous.
01:01:48
Speaker
And I could see how people can say that it's very cheesy, but it's like,
01:01:52
Speaker
I don't know.
01:01:53
Speaker
You don't see that everywhere.
01:01:54
Speaker
It's not very... It's not the usual kind of show.
01:01:59
Speaker
I just think it was a pretty neat experience.
01:02:03
Speaker
And they would use the jump scares.
01:02:04
Speaker
So you'd see the actors standing in one spot.
01:02:07
Speaker
The lights would go off for two seconds.
01:02:09
Speaker
They'd come back on.
01:02:10
Speaker
They're right in your face.
01:02:11
Speaker
So those sort of jump scares.
01:02:14
Speaker
It's very interactive.
01:02:17
Speaker
Yeah.
01:02:19
Speaker
I have to do that next time I'm there.
01:02:21
Speaker
Yeah.
01:02:22
Speaker
For sure.
01:02:23
Speaker
That's the one thing that we just missed.
01:02:24
Speaker
Honestly, like, cause a lot of the flat rides there are duplicates of things in other places, but the ghost train was the one thing that was kind of unique.
01:02:31
Speaker
We wanted to do, but we missed it.
01:02:33
Speaker
Sad face.
01:02:36
Speaker
Yeah, me too.
01:02:37
Speaker
I like it.
01:02:38
Speaker
It is worth going back for.
01:02:39
Speaker
Right.
01:02:39
Speaker
Well, it is LHR.
01:02:41
Speaker
It's like, that's the other thing is that, you know, 20 minutes from the airport on a London trip.
01:02:45
Speaker
If you want to, you know, yeah.
01:02:47
Speaker
Yeah.
01:02:50
Speaker
All right.
01:02:51
Speaker
I think we're good to move on to Alton.
01:02:53
Speaker
We already talked about our interesting journey to get there, right?
01:02:57
Speaker
Yes.
01:02:58
Speaker
Yeah, we did.
01:02:59
Speaker
The important reminder is that we arrived at the hotel between 1 a.m.
01:03:03
Speaker
and 2 a.m.
01:03:04
Speaker
Yeah.
01:03:05
Speaker
That's a good way to preface this.

Alton Towers: High Expectations, Mixed Results

01:03:10
Speaker
So I would say Alton was my most disappointing park of the trip.
01:03:15
Speaker
And I'm not saying that it is the worst park.
01:03:18
Speaker
I think it's just where it missed my expectations the most.
01:03:23
Speaker
And I think part of it is just because Alton was iconic for me growing up, watching the Travel Channel and all those shows like Oblivion and, you know, seeing Smiler a little bit later on, just seeing those being built and how they're the first of their kind.
01:03:39
Speaker
And the reality is they just they don't hold up overall.
01:03:44
Speaker
What do you guys think?
01:03:47
Speaker
I think for me, I was underwhelmed too.
01:03:50
Speaker
I think I really did enjoy a lot of the theming because a lot of it is dark and spooky and that's my kind of thing.
01:03:57
Speaker
And I don't want to discredit the park without giving it a fair shot, which I don't feel I did.
01:04:03
Speaker
I went there off of four hours of sleep like many of us did.
01:04:06
Speaker
I got up early to help kind of start the day and then
01:04:10
Speaker
Um, we didn't, you know, even with a gold fast lane, which I think most of us had at least that level, we still struggled to get everything accomplished in the, in the course of a day so much so that I like completely skipped any meals that day to ride rides.
01:04:25
Speaker
And I didn't get to enjoy a lot of the scenery I would have liked to, like, I didn't really walk through the gardens and like really see,
01:04:32
Speaker
the towers, and that's kind of the stuff that I think would have really elevated my overall impression of the park.
01:04:38
Speaker
But I was so focused on just like getting through the creds, which like is a bummer and maybe a criticism on our planning.
01:04:46
Speaker
Obviously, we didn't intend for us to get to the hotel that late and affect everyone's sleep.
01:04:51
Speaker
But we probably could have done a second day at the park maybe and it would have been a little bit better experience for everybody.
01:04:58
Speaker
But I think overall for me, I was underwhelmed
01:05:01
Speaker
I think the theming met my expectations.
01:05:04
Speaker
The rides did not.
01:05:06
Speaker
And I guess I need to probably give it a more fair shot at some point again in the future.
01:05:13
Speaker
I mean, I think it was fair for the most part besides the sleep.
01:05:17
Speaker
Like, yeah, maybe we were a little tired, a little cranky, but...
01:05:20
Speaker
Everything else was a fair shot.
01:05:22
Speaker
I mean, this is the park that they've built.
01:05:24
Speaker
They know how busy it is for the fact that we bought a fast pass and still barely got through everything.
01:05:31
Speaker
I mean, that's not on us.
01:05:33
Speaker
We planned the park pretty well.
01:05:36
Speaker
Yeah, I think the park just isn't a one-day park.
01:05:39
Speaker
I think it's too big.
01:05:40
Speaker
I think there's too much to do.
01:05:41
Speaker
I don't know.
01:05:42
Speaker
That's how I kind of felt.
01:05:43
Speaker
I felt like I needed a little more time in the park to fully enjoy it.
01:05:48
Speaker
I actually thought
01:05:51
Speaker
It was my favorite park of the trip, and that's only because I thought it was a very nice park.
01:05:55
Speaker
I love the scenery.
01:05:56
Speaker
I love everything about it.
01:05:58
Speaker
But what I did notice is that there's not really like a standout attraction there.
01:06:03
Speaker
I mean, well, the manor ride, the dark ride, that was incredible.
01:06:09
Speaker
That was a standout.
01:06:10
Speaker
But like obviously for us coaster nerds, like I feel like there wasn't a standout coaster, and that was kind of a bummer.
01:06:17
Speaker
I did enjoy 13.
01:06:17
Speaker
I thought that was pretty fun, but I don't think it was enough to like, you know, like I didn't need to ride it again.
01:06:25
Speaker
I wasn't running back.
01:06:26
Speaker
I don't know.
01:06:27
Speaker
I just feel like the ride is the ride.
01:06:29
Speaker
The park is lacking a little bit, even though they have so much space.
01:06:34
Speaker
Yeah.
01:06:34
Speaker
Once we get through all the coasters, I want us to all say what our favorite was, because I bet you everybody's is different.
01:06:40
Speaker
which is wild because if you would have asked maybe everybody going into the park, what it was going to be, I bet you all of us, except for maybe Tyler would have said nemesis.
01:06:48
Speaker
And I bet you that's not how we all felt after it.
01:06:52
Speaker
Right.
01:06:53
Speaker
I agree with you, Rafa.
01:06:54
Speaker
I think it probably could have deserved at least another half day or like, you know, normal park hours.
01:06:58
Speaker
Right.
01:06:59
Speaker
Closing at 5 PM.
01:07:00
Speaker
That was the one where that two hour thing, like I mentioned, I feel like was really the, the hindrance, you know?
01:07:06
Speaker
And yeah.
01:07:07
Speaker
Yeah.
01:07:08
Speaker
The hotel, then everything seemed like a vibe too.
01:07:10
Speaker
I mean, granted, there was like that, whatever that party that was going on when we were checking in as well.
01:07:14
Speaker
Oh my gosh.
01:07:15
Speaker
And I hate to be that person.
01:07:17
Speaker
Like, hello, I have a noise complaint, but like, Jesus Christ, I need to sleep.
01:07:21
Speaker
It's 2.30.
01:07:21
Speaker
Like I was so stressed.
01:07:24
Speaker
Yeah.
01:07:24
Speaker
It was like banging.
01:07:25
Speaker
I don't know where you guys were located, but wherever I was located, it was like vibrating my walls.
01:07:30
Speaker
Was it like loud music?
01:07:32
Speaker
Yeah, and like loud people, like clearly just like partying right outside.
01:07:36
Speaker
We were on the same side then because I heard it too.
01:07:38
Speaker
I'm like, what is going on?
01:07:41
Speaker
I was like right off the lobby.
01:07:42
Speaker
It was some kind of fancy dress party.
01:07:44
Speaker
They were all in like costumes.
01:07:46
Speaker
It was interesting.
01:07:48
Speaker
I don't know.
01:07:49
Speaker
From my perspective on the park, it met expectations because I went in thinking about what these roller coasters are and I was like, none of these are going to be
01:08:01
Speaker
you know, elite by any means.
01:08:03
Speaker
So and I was expecting the park to be like cool from a like immersion and walking around and theming perspective.
01:08:12
Speaker
And I think it met those expectations.
01:08:14
Speaker
So I enjoyed it.
01:08:16
Speaker
I think I had a better day than some other people did.
01:08:19
Speaker
I don't know how because I went to bed at like 2.30 a.m.
01:08:22
Speaker
But hey, I was surviving somehow.
01:08:26
Speaker
We did get to do all of the coasters and we did like some of the dark rides that were on the Gold Pass.
01:08:33
Speaker
We definitely could not have done that without the Gold Pass because the park was quite busy and the queues were kind of wild for a weekday.
01:08:41
Speaker
It was a Friday, but still.
01:08:42
Speaker
Yeah.
01:08:45
Speaker
And I guess there were school groups there, but like it was also just busy in general.
01:08:50
Speaker
Very busy.
01:08:51
Speaker
I've never felt like I got more value out of a fast pass scenario than that day.
01:08:56
Speaker
Like, like, thank God in spades, you know, in advance because it was very much needed.
01:09:03
Speaker
I mean, the one nice thing about it.
01:09:06
Speaker
That's what I was wondering too.
01:09:08
Speaker
Yeah, I don't know how people... I know some people that did it and they made it happen, but barely.
01:09:12
Speaker
And they were using single riders and trying to just get through the cues.
01:09:16
Speaker
I don't think they ate, just like you said.
01:09:18
Speaker
Yeah.
01:09:19
Speaker
All of that.
01:09:19
Speaker
We ate chips and chocolate bar.
01:09:22
Speaker
I ate like a chicken sandwich on a glazed donut, which.
01:09:26
Speaker
Oh, okay.
01:09:28
Speaker
Didn't know that was a thing.
01:09:29
Speaker
Oh, that's right.
01:09:30
Speaker
Yeah, that was very strange.
01:09:31
Speaker
Come on, calories.
01:09:34
Speaker
Trust me.
01:09:34
Speaker
It was something you could pick up and eat.
01:09:38
Speaker
Every day was like 20,000 steps.
01:09:40
Speaker
We ate at a sit down restaurant near Rita and it was actually quite good.
01:09:44
Speaker
I would go back there again.
01:09:46
Speaker
um but yeah like i oh yeah we missed rita rita was not yeah rita was down um yeah which was unfortunate which wasn't a big deal because we knew about it coming in but yeah yeah i was looking forward to it because i've done desert desert storm desert race whatever it's called at hattie park um and i enjoyed it so i think it was a big miss but we knew about it so yeah should we start at nemesis and just go around sure nemesis reborn
01:10:16
Speaker
Bum, bum, bum.
01:10:20
Speaker
What a freaking bummer, guys.
01:10:22
Speaker
What the heck?
01:10:23
Speaker
I wrote it twice and I was so bummed.
01:10:25
Speaker
Did you write it once in the morning, though?
01:10:27
Speaker
Yeah, once in the morning and once toward the end of the day.
01:10:30
Speaker
Okay, you did write it again.
01:10:31
Speaker
I thought it was way better in the afternoon.
01:10:34
Speaker
It was much better, but not like what I would have expected.
01:10:38
Speaker
It's like in the middle of the mid of my inverts.
01:10:43
Speaker
Yeah.
01:10:45
Speaker
I have so many.
01:10:46
Speaker
I appreciate it.
01:10:46
Speaker
So many inroads are better than it.
01:10:48
Speaker
I appreciate what it was and is.
01:10:50
Speaker
And I liked the, I liked, you know, very Montu-esque, very Black Mamba-esque, like going into the ground and stuff.
01:10:57
Speaker
But like.
01:10:58
Speaker
It didn't do much outside of that.
01:11:00
Speaker
Yeah.
01:11:03
Speaker
I think it's just one of those rides too.
01:11:04
Speaker
Did you end up liking it, Joey?
01:11:05
Speaker
That people, you know, it's so hyped as Americans, right?
01:11:09
Speaker
You just think that it's going to be.
01:11:12
Speaker
this totally new level of an invert experience.
01:11:15
Speaker
Cause it's a train coaster and it's an invert and you know, but it, I don't know.
01:11:20
Speaker
It didn't.
01:11:21
Speaker
Yeah.
01:11:22
Speaker
I mean, I liked it.
01:11:22
Speaker
I didn't dislike it.
01:11:23
Speaker
I really liked it.
01:11:25
Speaker
It was fun, but I just don't think it was anything like there was a lot of hype around it and it just didn't really, I did like it better than Inferno.
01:11:34
Speaker
Yeah.
01:11:35
Speaker
Other people I think flip flopped them.
01:11:37
Speaker
Yeah.
01:11:38
Speaker
I would flip flop them personally.
01:11:40
Speaker
I liked Inferno more.
01:11:41
Speaker
I'm so confused by what British enthusiasts like.
01:11:48
Speaker
Because they are under-hyping Hyperia and over-hyping this.
01:11:52
Speaker
And I'm like, why?
01:11:55
Speaker
I don't know.
01:11:57
Speaker
For me, it met expectations.
01:11:59
Speaker
Again, a lot of this day was just kind of met expectations for me.
01:12:02
Speaker
It wasn't under or over just because I kind of went in with a Tyler mindset.
01:12:06
Speaker
I was like, I don't believe these people.
01:12:08
Speaker
There's no way that a B&M invert is going to be some mind-blowingly elite experience.
01:12:13
Speaker
Like, I know that it has cool theming, and it does.
01:12:16
Speaker
Like, it's very cool.
01:12:18
Speaker
But that doesn't make the ride itself better.
01:12:21
Speaker
like intense or more interesting.
01:12:24
Speaker
I mean, the layout is certainly like custom and different.
01:12:28
Speaker
Like you don't usually go down a weird little drop into a corkscrew immediately, but it, it, I don't know.
01:12:36
Speaker
It's not as intense or like, it also feels kind of short compared to some of the other inverts out there.
01:12:44
Speaker
So yeah.
01:12:45
Speaker
I feel like it's just meant to be photogenic because it looks incredible.
01:12:48
Speaker
Like, yeah, it looks great.
01:12:49
Speaker
That whole area looks great.
01:12:51
Speaker
But outside of that, like the ride itself is nothing.
01:12:54
Speaker
It's nothing extraordinary.
01:12:56
Speaker
Yeah, but I enjoyed it.
01:12:58
Speaker
Like you said, I thought it was fun.
01:12:59
Speaker
And towards the end of the day, I rewrote it once and the guy didn't scan my my FastPass.
01:13:05
Speaker
So I went back and did it again because I was like, yeah, I do that again.
01:13:08
Speaker
Like, it's not like I think it's terrible.
01:13:10
Speaker
I don't know if you picked that thing up and took off the freaking red veins and plopped it in a parking lot and called it, you know, a new invert out of six flags.
01:13:18
Speaker
I'd be like, oh, everybody would hate on it.
01:13:21
Speaker
Oh, yeah.
01:13:21
Speaker
Yeah, for sure.
01:13:22
Speaker
Like.
01:13:25
Speaker
But anyway,
01:13:27
Speaker
Polarizing, I guess.
01:13:28
Speaker
Amongst our group, I would say more people were underwhelmed.
01:13:32
Speaker
I don't know anybody in our group that was like, oh my God.
01:13:34
Speaker
Yeah.
01:13:36
Speaker
Yeah.
01:13:37
Speaker
Did anybody do Subterra?
01:13:39
Speaker
Yes.
01:13:41
Speaker
That was not such a surprise for me.
01:13:44
Speaker
I actually loved it.
01:13:45
Speaker
It was so cool.
01:13:46
Speaker
It was so random.
01:13:47
Speaker
I didn't know what to expect.
01:13:49
Speaker
So random.
01:13:50
Speaker
It was hilarious when we did it because it was me, Craig, Brett, and Tony, and two other guests.
01:13:56
Speaker
That's it.
01:13:57
Speaker
So there was no queue.
01:13:58
Speaker
So it felt really intimate because it just goes train.
01:14:02
Speaker
There's like...
01:14:03
Speaker
I don't want to say actors, but the attendants that are at the ride are kind of like hyping it up and like acting urgent about, you know, this this thing that's happening.
01:14:12
Speaker
And because there were only so few of us, we were like, oh, my God, we got to go.
01:14:15
Speaker
Like, it felt super urgent, which was fun.
01:14:22
Speaker
Yeah, that was pretty fun.
01:14:23
Speaker
I was next to Dex and Kim, and I remember Kim was like, she was like, guys, I don't, she kept asking, like, guys, what is this?
01:14:30
Speaker
I don't know what this is.
01:14:31
Speaker
I don't know what it is.
01:14:32
Speaker
And then it had that little drop section, and it completely got us off guard.
01:14:37
Speaker
Oh, no.
01:14:38
Speaker
Yeah.
01:14:38
Speaker
Yeah.
01:14:39
Speaker
I think he was trying to figure it out, too.
01:14:41
Speaker
Bethany, I was sitting next to, like, Bethany and Caleb, and when they were, like, putting their restraints on us, Bethany's like, oh, this thing has to drop.
01:14:47
Speaker
Look what they're putting us in.
01:14:48
Speaker
Look what they're putting us in.
01:14:49
Speaker
Look what they're putting us in.
01:14:53
Speaker
Unfortunately, I knew that it was going to drop, but what got me is what happened after that.
01:14:59
Speaker
Oh, yeah, that I had no idea.
01:15:01
Speaker
Yeah.
01:15:01
Speaker
Okay, I didn't love whatever the thing was at my legs.
01:15:04
Speaker
It actually hurt.
01:15:05
Speaker
Whatever the thing was.
01:15:06
Speaker
Yeah, like something stabbed me in the back.
01:15:09
Speaker
No, that was fine.
01:15:10
Speaker
That was fine.
01:15:11
Speaker
It was almost like the madhouse, which we'll talk about later.
01:15:15
Speaker
It was almost like the madhouse at Europa that's like poking you in the butt.
01:15:20
Speaker
That's what it reminded me of.
01:15:21
Speaker
I think it was just the workers standing behind us just like whipping us.
01:15:24
Speaker
Yeah, that's what he wanted.
01:15:28
Speaker
It was like the Bugs Life thing in the Tree of Light.
01:15:33
Speaker
I had to see them on steroids.
01:15:34
Speaker
Yeah.
01:15:35
Speaker
Yes.
01:15:36
Speaker
Yeah.
01:15:36
Speaker
Very much reminded me of, I think it was Alien Encounter.
01:15:41
Speaker
Yeah.
01:15:41
Speaker
Alien Encounter.
01:15:42
Speaker
Yeah.
01:15:43
Speaker
Yeah.
01:15:44
Speaker
I wrote that one.
01:15:44
Speaker
I was way too young.
01:15:45
Speaker
As somebody who comes from a theatrical background and I've done like lighting and sound design, I've
01:15:51
Speaker
This is something that consistently oppressed me across the whole park, but the lighting design and the scenic design and all of that stuff is so well done.
01:16:00
Speaker
I was just looking and I was like, wow, this lighting is so well maintained.
01:16:03
Speaker
It's all timed well.
01:16:05
Speaker
The sound is working in sync with everything.
01:16:09
Speaker
That, at that park, everywhere is executed very well.
01:16:12
Speaker
They love a fog machine, which me too.
01:16:17
Speaker
Speaking of sets,
01:16:21
Speaker
we should talk about the Curse at Alton Manor, the best ride in the entire park.
01:16:27
Speaker
I mean... That was so good.
01:16:30
Speaker
It got me a couple times.
01:16:31
Speaker
I did not expect to get scared at all.
01:16:34
Speaker
It jump scared me once.
01:16:36
Speaker
Yeah.
01:16:36
Speaker
It got me so much too, for sure.
01:16:38
Speaker
It doesn't take a lot to get me, but it's the first time on a track I've gotten jump scared.
01:16:44
Speaker
It was very technologically impressive for that style of ride.
01:16:48
Speaker
The only thing I will say about it is...
01:16:51
Speaker
I did anticipate a majority of the scares.
01:16:53
Speaker
You could see them before they start moving.
01:16:56
Speaker
But it was, I really enjoyed it.
01:16:59
Speaker
And I think this was a former shooter dark ride attraction and it was renovated two years ago, I want to say.
01:17:05
Speaker
So it's very recent that this is in its current state as of what it is.
01:17:10
Speaker
And I think they did a really good job with it.
01:17:12
Speaker
It's so good.
01:17:13
Speaker
That makes sense with some of the screen technology.
01:17:16
Speaker
It looked like really almost like Monsters-esque to me.
01:17:19
Speaker
The things flowed from screen to screen and stuff like that.
01:17:23
Speaker
Yeah, that was that was a great one.
01:17:25
Speaker
I really enjoyed that.
01:17:26
Speaker
And I wish I would have gotten another right on it, but we didn't have enough time.
01:17:32
Speaker
I got a second right on it.
01:17:34
Speaker
Same.
01:17:35
Speaker
I had to.
01:17:35
Speaker
I prioritized it.
01:17:36
Speaker
It's really good, though.
01:17:38
Speaker
I really wanted a shirt, but it appears that the last medium was taken.
01:17:43
Speaker
Oh, it's fine.
01:17:53
Speaker
All right, I think we went to Wicker Man next, right?
01:17:57
Speaker
Or some of us at least.
01:17:58
Speaker
You can't skip over Cho-Cho.
01:18:02
Speaker
Oh, yeah.
01:18:04
Speaker
Cho-Cho.
01:18:04
Speaker
We did skip over it.
01:18:07
Speaker
We actually did skip and do it later.
01:18:09
Speaker
Yeah, we did it towards the end of the day.
01:18:11
Speaker
I'm just like geographically going into the circle now.
01:18:13
Speaker
Powered coaster that felt like a little too fast.
01:18:18
Speaker
Yeah, that is true.
01:18:20
Speaker
It was pretty good.
01:18:21
Speaker
Yeah, it was kind of good for a powered coaster.
01:18:23
Speaker
I was sliding all over the place in there.
01:18:26
Speaker
But yeah, every dispatch, they go choo-choo.
01:18:30
Speaker
I don't know why, but it's hilarious.
01:18:32
Speaker
Twicker Man.
01:18:36
Speaker
I got a milestone on that guy.
01:18:40
Speaker
It was fun.
01:18:42
Speaker
Yeah.
01:18:43
Speaker
I think it's fun.
01:18:44
Speaker
It was fun, yeah.
01:18:46
Speaker
Maybe like low mid-tier GCI, which doesn't mean it's bad by any means.
01:18:53
Speaker
It's not rough at all.
01:18:55
Speaker
It's quite smooth.
01:18:56
Speaker
The pre-show was great.
01:18:59
Speaker
Yeah, the pre-show was cool.
01:19:01
Speaker
I forgot that even had a pre-show because ERT obviously didn't have any of that.
01:19:06
Speaker
I was just expecting a little bit above mid-tier and it was below mid-tier, so just again, just didn't quite meet my expectations, which was probably my own fault, but
01:19:17
Speaker
It was a good ride overall.
01:19:18
Speaker
I think it was just like that one, you know, kind of go down the drop and then you go up that hill before the left turn.
01:19:24
Speaker
You kind of expect to get airtime.
01:19:27
Speaker
You know, like that, you kind of expect that to be a standout moment, like the first hill after the drop and like, you just stay in your seat the whole time over the hill.
01:19:34
Speaker
Yeah, there's a couple of spots that you anticipate something.
01:19:37
Speaker
Yeah.
01:19:37
Speaker
Not as much, I feel, but the drop was good.
01:19:39
Speaker
Yeah, that was my only.
01:19:40
Speaker
And there are a couple of other like, whippy drop sections that were kind of nice in the back.
01:19:45
Speaker
Yeah, the second time through the
01:19:47
Speaker
the wicker man himself, so to speak.
01:19:49
Speaker
Right.
01:19:49
Speaker
Yeah.
01:19:51
Speaker
Yeah.
01:19:53
Speaker
It was fine.
01:19:53
Speaker
I just don't think there's much to say about it.
01:19:56
Speaker
It was, it was, it was fun.
01:19:57
Speaker
Like it, that's all.
01:19:59
Speaker
I really wish that it actually got dark and our ERT would have been at night because the wicker man would have looked so cool.
01:20:06
Speaker
Yeah.
01:20:06
Speaker
Yeah.
01:20:08
Speaker
We were lacking on the energy.
01:20:09
Speaker
They were lacking on the energy, but we also were lacking.
01:20:12
Speaker
That's what I was going to say.
01:20:13
Speaker
Like, they were lacking, but we were also very exhausted.
01:20:16
Speaker
We were running on, like, a few hours of sleep.
01:20:19
Speaker
So I'm not going to put all the blame on them.
01:20:21
Speaker
But obviously the energy doesn't compare to what we had for Hyperia the night before.
01:20:26
Speaker
We can't compare.
01:20:27
Speaker
Yeah.
01:20:28
Speaker
Yeah.
01:20:28
Speaker
And just talk about a park in general that every single one of those roller coasters would be so much better at night.
01:20:34
Speaker
Yeah.
01:20:36
Speaker
If you think about it.
01:20:37
Speaker
Even Nemesis, right?
01:20:38
Speaker
For sure.
01:20:39
Speaker
That at night, 13 at night.
01:20:41
Speaker
Yeah.
01:20:41
Speaker
I mean, even Galactica would probably be awesome at night.
01:20:45
Speaker
Yeah.
01:20:47
Speaker
Speaking of, do we want to go there next?
01:20:50
Speaker
We kind of skipped it.
01:20:52
Speaker
Oh, Galactica, yeah.

Galactica and Spinball Whizzer Impressions

01:20:54
Speaker
I loved it.
01:20:55
Speaker
I think it was my favorite ride in the park and I hate a flyer.
01:20:57
Speaker
So that was shocking.
01:20:58
Speaker
Oh, wow.
01:21:00
Speaker
That feels like a hot take to me.
01:21:02
Speaker
That does feel like a hot take.
01:21:05
Speaker
I got air time and it didn't hurt my boobies.
01:21:07
Speaker
I mean, it was definitely a unique flyer.
01:21:10
Speaker
Like that one section where you go from fly to lie was way longer than I expected, like on my back.
01:21:16
Speaker
It wasn't a loop, so it wasn't like uncomfortable.
01:21:19
Speaker
It was like Dutchman, Dutchman-esque.
01:21:21
Speaker
Yeah, for sure.
01:21:23
Speaker
And it's also kind of, it's weird because Tatsu is very high off the ground and this was very low to the ground and like moving with the terrain.
01:21:33
Speaker
So that's kind of a different experience for a flyer.
01:21:36
Speaker
That was the part I liked about it the most is like, it just felt like you were, I wasn't in the front or anything, so you can't really see what's coming and it just feels like you're just diving at the ground over and over again, which I thought was a really cool, cool aspect of it.
01:21:49
Speaker
And that, like you said, that rollover was more forceful on ride than it looked off ride to me.
01:21:56
Speaker
Like it was that kind of, I kind of expected to just roll over and be like, ah, you know, but it was actually, actually had some forces, which I liked.
01:22:05
Speaker
Yeah.
01:22:05
Speaker
Yeah.
01:22:07
Speaker
Yeah, that one was pretty fun.
01:22:09
Speaker
I didn't hate it.
01:22:10
Speaker
I was expecting to not like it because I'm not a big flyer guy either, but I liked it.
01:22:14
Speaker
I was with Dex and Dex actually likes it more than Tatsu, which I was like, whoa, that's a take.
01:22:22
Speaker
Yeah, that's a pretty bold take, but I'm like, all right, I respect it.
01:22:25
Speaker
I don't agree with it, but it's a completely different kind of ride.
01:22:29
Speaker
So yeah, 100%.
01:22:31
Speaker
What else?
01:22:34
Speaker
The spinner was... Spinball Whizzer.
01:22:37
Speaker
It felt out of place.
01:22:39
Speaker
Yeah.
01:22:39
Speaker
It's not well themed compared to a lot of the other stuff there.
01:22:43
Speaker
Yeah.
01:22:43
Speaker
And it doesn't seem to have the same vibes, but it was good.
01:22:47
Speaker
I got a real good ride.
01:22:48
Speaker
It was good.
01:22:49
Speaker
Yeah.
01:22:49
Speaker
I thought it was great.
01:22:51
Speaker
Yeah.
01:22:52
Speaker
The kitty we waited far too long for.
01:22:55
Speaker
Oh my gosh.
01:22:56
Speaker
Skipped it.
01:22:57
Speaker
Fully skipped it.
01:22:59
Speaker
A little bit of theming there.
01:23:00
Speaker
It was cute, but we waited way too long.
01:23:04
Speaker
You guys waited a long time.
01:23:06
Speaker
I was in line for a five-minute dispatch, and I immediately bailed.
01:23:09
Speaker
I was like, I can't.
01:23:09
Speaker
I can't do it.
01:23:11
Speaker
Scott didn't even wait.
01:23:15
Speaker
He left right early on.
01:23:16
Speaker
He's like, okay, I'll see you guys after.
01:23:17
Speaker
I went and got a sandwich.
01:23:19
Speaker
I got a coffee.
01:23:21
Speaker
Walked around the lake a couple times.
01:23:25
Speaker
I'm not big on waiting in long lines for kitty cruds.
01:23:30
Speaker
I hear you.
01:23:33
Speaker
Exists.
01:23:34
Speaker
Yeah, cool.
01:23:36
Speaker
The drop is so overhyped.
01:23:38
Speaker
So overhyped.
01:23:39
Speaker
It's not dark.
01:23:40
Speaker
It doesn't go far into the hole.
01:23:41
Speaker
No.
01:23:42
Speaker
That was the thing that I was like, I don't want to say I was looking forward to the most because I wasn't, but I was excited about how much I had heard that it was so much further in the tunnel.
01:23:51
Speaker
Yeah.
01:23:52
Speaker
And then like, when you get to like the, as soon as we got to the point where you could see, I was like, no, the tunnel ends right there.
01:23:57
Speaker
And also like we're spoiled now.
01:24:00
Speaker
Most of the new dives are beyond vertical and this clearly was not because it was the first and it's like, you can totally feel the difference.
01:24:08
Speaker
It's like the one trick pony of all one trick ponies.
01:24:10
Speaker
It just drops and turns.
01:24:12
Speaker
And the trick isn't even that good.
01:24:13
Speaker
Right.
01:24:14
Speaker
Yeah.
01:24:14
Speaker
I mean, it looks super cool.
01:24:16
Speaker
That's about it.
01:24:18
Speaker
It's certainly iconic and I'm glad I wrote it.
01:24:20
Speaker
But yeah, it's a piece of history.
01:24:23
Speaker
But it exists and that's it.
01:24:25
Speaker
Yeah.
01:24:25
Speaker
Ties into the whole theme with Alton that like they need it.
01:24:28
Speaker
They need it.
01:24:28
Speaker
They need a new intimate or mock coaster there.
01:24:31
Speaker
You know?
01:24:32
Speaker
Yeah.
01:24:34
Speaker
So what's past that?
01:24:35
Speaker
So Rita was closed.
01:24:36
Speaker
Yeah.
01:24:37
Speaker
Yeah, Smiler.
01:24:38
Speaker
Smiler.
01:24:39
Speaker
Smiler was... So that was one that was opposite of a lot of rides in this park, in my opinion, in the sense that I was bracing for it to be terrible, and it was actually really good.
01:24:51
Speaker
I loved Smiler.
01:24:53
Speaker
I was afraid.
01:24:53
Speaker
Yeah.
01:24:54
Speaker
I was definitely afraid.
01:24:55
Speaker
Same.
01:24:57
Speaker
I am thankful for the one brief moment of airtime, because I am, like, not a positives person, and I was... Yeah, there was supposedly two.
01:25:03
Speaker
I felt one.
01:25:05
Speaker
I...
01:25:06
Speaker
do not like positives.
01:25:07
Speaker
And I was like, I am not going to like going upside down this many times.
01:25:10
Speaker
I'm just not.
01:25:10
Speaker
And I, I enjoyed the ride.
01:25:12
Speaker
I actually preferred saw to smiler.
01:25:14
Speaker
So did I, I could see that actually.
01:25:18
Speaker
Yeah.
01:25:19
Speaker
Smiler hurt my shoulders like a lot.
01:25:21
Speaker
I was, I mean, I was expecting to hate it because of the inversions, but I actually hurt my shoulders on there.
01:25:27
Speaker
Like, I don't know.
01:25:28
Speaker
It was kind of uncomfortable for me.
01:25:30
Speaker
Um, but I mean, I, I didn't hate it.
01:25:32
Speaker
It was, it was still fun.
01:25:35
Speaker
Yeah.
01:25:35
Speaker
I don't know if I got good rides on it or what, but I definitely enjoyed it more than I expected to.
01:25:40
Speaker
Again, given its reputation and people saying how rough it is and all of that, I really didn't find it to be terribly rough.
01:25:47
Speaker
And I kind of forgot that it had airtime.
01:25:49
Speaker
So once we hit those two airtime Hills, I was like, Oh, this is fun.
01:25:53
Speaker
Yeah.
01:25:55
Speaker
I really, really enjoyed it.
01:25:56
Speaker
I was braced for impact.
01:25:58
Speaker
A hundred percent thought it was going to just be rough through and through, you know, just like I thought it was always going to be, but it,
01:26:05
Speaker
know maybe one one moment again just like saw there's only one moment that i felt you know towards the end the way that ride looks in that little valley is awesome too you know just the the visual aspect of that ride is incredible yeah and if you spend any amount of time in the queue you'll never forget that song
01:26:29
Speaker
Oh my gosh.
01:26:30
Speaker
Yeah, I think we talked about it.
01:26:31
Speaker
I think Kelly and I talked about it afterwards.
01:26:32
Speaker
We're like, the theme is kind of annoying.
01:26:34
Speaker
Like, it's... Yeah.
01:26:36
Speaker
Isn't that funny that, like, it's purposefully annoying is the theme.
01:26:40
Speaker
Yeah.
01:26:40
Speaker
Like, it's designed to be annoying.
01:26:42
Speaker
Like, imagine not having the gold pass or whatever we had, whatever the fast track was.
01:26:48
Speaker
And standing in there for two hours.
01:26:49
Speaker
Oh my gosh, I would lose my mind.
01:26:52
Speaker
Yeah.
01:26:52
Speaker
Also, it smelled terrible in there.
01:26:54
Speaker
Yeah.
01:26:54
Speaker
Oh yeah, it did.
01:26:55
Speaker
Yeah.
01:26:57
Speaker
Yeah.
01:26:57
Speaker
I think it was Dex and I were talking about how you get off the ride and then you're just like in a spiral painted staircase that's really hot.
01:27:05
Speaker
You know what it's like?
01:27:05
Speaker
If you were nauseous, good luck getting down those stairs.
01:27:10
Speaker
Hex.
01:27:10
Speaker
Oh yeah.
01:27:15
Speaker
Hex.
01:27:18
Speaker
Hex.
01:27:20
Speaker
I'm over Mad Houses.
01:27:21
Speaker
The Mad House with five pre-shows.
01:27:23
Speaker
Lots of pre-shows.
01:27:25
Speaker
I thought we were never going to get on the ride.
01:27:29
Speaker
I was not well in this ride.
01:27:32
Speaker
I fully... Okay, so the only other Mad House I've done, and there are many around me here in the United States that I purposefully do not do.
01:27:39
Speaker
The only one I did was the Europa Park one because I heard there was something special and the only thing special was that I was going to get poked in the butt.
01:27:48
Speaker
I hated that one was so insane at Europa park.
01:27:51
Speaker
Like the amount of flipping, like it literally was like so many flips.
01:27:56
Speaker
I felt so ill and could not escape the ride.
01:27:59
Speaker
So when I found out that hex was a mad house, I fully panicked.
01:28:03
Speaker
I was the first person in there.
01:28:05
Speaker
I sat all the way on the end and I was, I was,
01:28:09
Speaker
considering getting up and walking out before the ride started.
01:28:12
Speaker
I was like arguing with myself.
01:28:14
Speaker
I was like, can I do this again?
01:28:15
Speaker
I was like, if I close my eyes, will I be okay?
01:28:18
Speaker
Like, will I have a full freaking panic attack in this ride?
01:28:21
Speaker
And I was unwell.
01:28:23
Speaker
And all I did, I looked straight across at Bethany the whole time and she could see the panic in my eyes.
01:28:27
Speaker
She was like, it's okay.
01:28:29
Speaker
It's okay.
01:28:29
Speaker
She was like talking to me during the madhouse was going.
01:28:32
Speaker
I was like, I'm just going to look right at Bethany and I'm going to be okay.
01:28:35
Speaker
And I was okay, but I hate a madhouse.
01:28:37
Speaker
Hate, hate, hate.
01:28:39
Speaker
I'd never done one before, so it was unique.
01:28:42
Speaker
What did you think?
01:28:44
Speaker
Disorienting, you know.
01:28:46
Speaker
Yes.
01:28:46
Speaker
But I kind of like, yeah, I wish that there was something else to it as opposed to just that, that.
01:28:54
Speaker
equilibrium play.
01:28:57
Speaker
It's tough to really do anything else with it.
01:28:58
Speaker
I get the concept.
01:29:00
Speaker
It's not designed to be a thrilling ride.
01:29:02
Speaker
I will say the story on this one was very well done.
01:29:05
Speaker
That's what I was going to say.
01:29:07
Speaker
Even though there were so many freaking pre-show rooms, I did think that the storytelling was really well done.
01:29:12
Speaker
Again, the lighting and the sound and
01:29:15
Speaker
All of that was really well executed.
01:29:16
Speaker
I think it had been the first Madhouse I had done.
01:29:20
Speaker
I would have been like super, super impressed.
01:29:23
Speaker
Yeah, because the like the internal like once you actually get into the Madhouse itself, that part was really well executed to compare to some of the other ones that I've done.
01:29:31
Speaker
They're a little more sparse.
01:29:33
Speaker
I could definitely see that as like that's the only one I've done.
01:29:36
Speaker
Right.
01:29:36
Speaker
So it's the only benchmark I have.
01:29:37
Speaker
But.
01:29:39
Speaker
if you have that same ride system without that level of theming and execution, I could see myself being like, what am I doing?
01:29:46
Speaker
You know, like, why, why am I on this kind of thing?
01:29:48
Speaker
So, yeah.
01:29:51
Speaker
Yeah.
01:29:52
Speaker
I feel like once you've been on one of them, like you've kind of been on all of them.
01:29:54
Speaker
This is the third one that I've done.
01:29:56
Speaker
Cause we did the one in Fantasia land.
01:29:59
Speaker
And then I also did the one in, um,
01:30:02
Speaker
in new England, uh, the Houdini one.
01:30:05
Speaker
Yeah.
01:30:05
Speaker
So that the Houdini one was my first one, which I was pretty impressed by, I think just cause I had no idea what to expect.
01:30:11
Speaker
Um, but yeah, after doing a couple of others, I was like, all right, I'm good.
01:30:16
Speaker
It does make me a little dizzy though.
01:30:18
Speaker
So would you agree though, that hex is the best of those three?
01:30:21
Speaker
I think so.
01:30:22
Speaker
Just for theming alone.
01:30:23
Speaker
Yeah.
01:30:24
Speaker
Okay.
01:30:25
Speaker
I think it's the best one I've done from a theming perspective.
01:30:28
Speaker
Right.
01:30:29
Speaker
I mean, that's all that they can.
01:30:30
Speaker
That's the only thing that can make it better or worse.
01:30:32
Speaker
Honestly, there's not much to it.
01:30:35
Speaker
Yeah.
01:30:35
Speaker
in the pre-show rooms, there were a lot of them, but they are also like chambers in a real castle, which is very cool.
01:30:42
Speaker
I just feel like they could have done so much more.
01:30:44
Speaker
Like you said, Scott, it's chambers in a real castle.
01:30:48
Speaker
The backstory was awesome.
01:30:50
Speaker
And then you get to the climax of the ride, which is a madhouse.
01:30:53
Speaker
And I'm like, really?
01:30:55
Speaker
This is the buildup was incredible.
01:30:57
Speaker
The story is awesome.
01:30:58
Speaker
And then this is what the ride is.
01:31:01
Speaker
Yeah.
01:31:01
Speaker
But yeah, it is the best madhouse that I've done, but.
01:31:05
Speaker
Like you said, Rafa, once you've done one, you've done all of them.
01:31:07
Speaker
Yeah, it is what it is.
01:31:09
Speaker
Unless you haven't done Europa Park, then you've got special effects coming.
01:31:16
Speaker
I guess I'll do one more then.
01:31:19
Speaker
One more for me too.
01:31:23
Speaker
And also the gangster granny was in that section.
01:31:26
Speaker
Oh yeah.
01:31:27
Speaker
The family dark ride.
01:31:28
Speaker
I thought it was cute.
01:31:29
Speaker
It was cute.
01:31:31
Speaker
That's about it.
01:31:32
Speaker
We also did the sky ride which was nice.
01:31:36
Speaker
It's the only way to see some of the stuff I saw up there.
01:31:40
Speaker
Yeah over the garden and everything.
01:31:42
Speaker
It's nice that I had that but it is very annoying that it was shut down because it was too hot.
01:31:47
Speaker
I heard about that.
01:31:48
Speaker
Because we wanted to take it from Nemesis area back over to whatever the forest is with 13 to ride that again.
01:31:56
Speaker
And they closed it because they said it was too hot.
01:31:58
Speaker
And we were like, are you kidding me?
01:31:59
Speaker
Oh my gosh.
01:32:00
Speaker
Yeah, we did it the opposite way.
01:32:01
Speaker
We got the walk.
01:32:02
Speaker
Yeah.
01:32:03
Speaker
Exactly.
01:32:04
Speaker
Gosh.
01:32:05
Speaker
Yeah.
01:32:06
Speaker
13.
01:32:06
Speaker
Nice surprise.
01:32:07
Speaker
13.
01:32:07
Speaker
Yeah.
01:32:08
Speaker
Yeah.
01:32:09
Speaker
I really enjoyed that.
01:32:10
Speaker
That was great.
01:32:11
Speaker
I really enjoyed that.
01:32:12
Speaker
I called it Hagrid's light because it is.
01:32:16
Speaker
And I'm sure you hated it, but like the highlight for me, because I knew that the drop track was going to happen was what happened right after that.
01:32:23
Speaker
Like the backwards section of track was surprisingly interesting.
01:32:28
Speaker
And like had a little bit of pull and like a little bit of float to it.
01:32:32
Speaker
Yeah.
01:32:33
Speaker
I had no clue about that ride and I've also never ridden for Bolton.
01:32:36
Speaker
So like, but when we came, I was like, oh, I know what's going to happen.
01:32:40
Speaker
Like it, you know, it didn't really surprise me.
01:32:43
Speaker
Yeah.
01:32:43
Speaker
Yeah.
01:32:44
Speaker
But you know, really good airtime.
01:32:46
Speaker
There's like one moment at least where I got really good airtime.
01:32:49
Speaker
Nice little floater.
01:32:52
Speaker
Yeah.
01:32:52
Speaker
Agreed.
01:32:53
Speaker
I enjoyed it a lot.
01:32:54
Speaker
Yeah.
01:32:54
Speaker
I really liked that one.
01:33:00
Speaker
Yeah, that's all the coasters.
01:33:02
Speaker
And I think we hit... Okay, what was everyone's favorite ride?
01:33:05
Speaker
We all like Curse of Ultimander.
01:33:07
Speaker
What was your favorite coaster at Alton Towers?
01:33:12
Speaker
13.
01:33:14
Speaker
Yeah, I'm going to say 13 too.
01:33:20
Speaker
I'm between 13 and Galactica.
01:33:22
Speaker
Same.
01:33:23
Speaker
I mean, I think I liked Galactica a little more, but 13 would be my second favorite.
01:33:26
Speaker
Okay.
01:33:27
Speaker
I...
01:33:28
Speaker
There are, there's not even one that stands out enough for me to say.
01:33:33
Speaker
Yeah.
01:33:34
Speaker
I'm like, like a lot of these were good, but not great.
01:33:38
Speaker
So what do I even say?
01:33:39
Speaker
Like I had fun during the Wicker Man ERT.
01:33:41
Speaker
So I'd almost just say that because it was fun.
01:33:45
Speaker
Yeah.
01:33:45
Speaker
Not as different as I, as I thought we would all be, but the point is that it wasn't like clear in a way nemesis, which everyone talks about.
01:33:53
Speaker
No.
01:33:55
Speaker
I don't know who would have that as their favorite.
01:33:57
Speaker
Yeah.
01:33:59
Speaker
yeah i don't know none of us yeah in buzz bars period i guess just to throw it out there i know not everybody got to do it but like um the towers themselves are super cool as a centerpiece to the park and then the gardens i didn't go down into the ravine because that looks like a lot of effort on a warm day but i walked along one of the paths on like the upper edge of it and it was quite nice like it's it's very pretty and it doesn't feel like you're in a theme park anymore when you're
01:34:27
Speaker
in that area so i imagine that you know obviously if you have two days at the park you would spend some time there kind of just enjoying that area yeah for sure did you take the path that kind of led to like that white vestibule overlook thing yeah yeah i walked that same path as well yeah yeah very cool before we move on one more quick shout out to the workers in the hotel when we showed up to alton towers resort it was 1 30 a.m there were
01:34:56
Speaker
Three or four of them lined up there with all of our hotel cards ready to go, ready to hand to us.
01:35:04
Speaker
Made that process so quick.
01:35:06
Speaker
Shout out to them for being flexible, staying up late and waiting for us.
01:35:09
Speaker
They were so great.
01:35:11
Speaker
They had that coffee energy.
01:35:12
Speaker
They were so good.
01:35:13
Speaker
They were ready.
01:35:14
Speaker
The lady that I was talking to was so awake.
01:35:16
Speaker
I was like, oh my gosh, you're great.
01:35:20
Speaker
And hospitality just declined from there, I would say.
01:35:25
Speaker
yeah once we got into the park honestly like the the the energy of the employees was not super there unfortunately i thought it was just theming at nemesis like they were playing like a part you know which they are to an extent yeah but then it just carried on right yeah they don't like requests there um i don't know it just wasn't as friendly as it was it seemed at the other parks we were at okay yeah
01:35:50
Speaker
I did think I had the moment of standing in my hotel room and hearing Joey knock on a door and say, Scott, are you in there?
01:35:57
Speaker
And I'm like, wait a second.
01:35:57
Speaker
He's not even knocking on my room.
01:35:59
Speaker
It's like they had two different room keys for me, I guess.
01:36:02
Speaker
Yeah.
01:36:04
Speaker
I popped my head out.
01:36:05
Speaker
I was like, no, I'm over here, dude.
01:36:06
Speaker
All right.
01:36:12
Speaker
Let's move on to our last part of this episode.
01:36:15
Speaker
Blackpool Pleasure Beach.
01:36:17
Speaker
Overall thoughts?
01:36:19
Speaker
Vibes.
01:36:20
Speaker
Loved them.
01:36:21
Speaker
Yeah.
01:36:22
Speaker
Yeah.
01:36:24
Speaker
Somebody said a bigger version of Indiana Beach where it actually feels safe.
01:36:31
Speaker
I don't know about safe, but... I loved it.
01:36:35
Speaker
I think it was my favorite.
01:36:37
Speaker
overall park just from an experience and vibe standpoint i love why people would think that this is so interesting okay i definitely did not like it that much um i just kind of liked the fact that it felt like you know i don't know just felt like well it was very like jersey shore yeah yeah it was like you know it felt like kind of trashy down and eat some trash
01:37:00
Speaker
and have some beer and then also there's like 10 rides on top of each other right here yeah which like I enjoy that vibe I think maybe like my tiredness hit more that day and that affected it to an extent um but yeah I mean it's definitely not um I think some people hate on that park and it's definitely not that bad like and for some people for some Americans I think the sort of nostalgia factor of that is going to hit harder than it does for people in the UK maybe
01:37:30
Speaker
I could see that.
01:37:30
Speaker
I could definitely see that.
01:37:31
Speaker
Because that's what it was for me is just like that boardwalk feel.
01:37:35
Speaker
Just like you said, that little edge of trashy, the little edge of everything being on top of itself.
01:37:39
Speaker
Yeah, because it's not clean.
01:37:42
Speaker
And the rides are not well maintained.
01:37:44
Speaker
So... Yeah.
01:37:47
Speaker
Yeah.
01:37:49
Speaker
Well, we started off our day.
01:37:51
Speaker
We were supposed to have ERT on the big one.
01:37:54
Speaker
Unfortunately, we did not get ERT and we did not get on it at all because of wind conditions.
01:38:00
Speaker
Which day.
01:38:01
Speaker
Yeah.
01:38:02
Speaker
Yeah.
01:38:03
Speaker
My understanding that's fairly common, which makes sense.
01:38:07
Speaker
You're right on the beach.
01:38:09
Speaker
Yeah.
01:38:09
Speaker
Yeah.
01:38:10
Speaker
I did some Googling and I found many days that it has been closed for wind all day, which is hilarious because it is on a windy shore.
01:38:20
Speaker
Yeah.
01:38:21
Speaker
Anyways, we had Icon instead, which was...
01:38:26
Speaker
I thought it was fun.
01:38:27
Speaker
It didn't blow anything away.
01:38:29
Speaker
I would have liked to get on a ride towards the end of the day and see how well it warmed up because we were literally the first trains of the day on the ERT, but we didn't get a chance to, so it is what it is.
01:38:40
Speaker
Biggest regret of the trip is that I did not do Enzo.
01:38:46
Speaker
It's incredible.
01:38:47
Speaker
I know.
01:38:49
Speaker
I know I would have loved it.
01:38:50
Speaker
I can't believe you didn't do it.
01:38:52
Speaker
It changed the ride.
01:38:54
Speaker
Completely.
01:38:55
Speaker
Oh my god, completely.
01:38:56
Speaker
It's incredible.
01:38:57
Speaker
It was so good.
01:38:57
Speaker
Okay, then you need to go ride Ride to Happiness, Rafa.
01:39:02
Speaker
Yes, I do.
01:39:03
Speaker
It had some of those vibes.
01:39:05
Speaker
Not as good as Ride to Happiness, but the way that it yanks you backwards sometimes.
01:39:12
Speaker
Yeah, like that.
01:39:14
Speaker
I loved it.
01:39:16
Speaker
And so in the morning, in the morning that what's the best word to meandering icon, like some parts of it are just meandering.
01:39:26
Speaker
Like it's not giving you too many forces.
01:39:28
Speaker
You're just kind of like turning, turning, turning.
01:39:31
Speaker
And it, it loses some momentum at the end for sure.
01:39:35
Speaker
Like during the regular operating, my favorite part was after the second launch, it goes into this sort of,
01:39:42
Speaker
immelman i guess yeah thing i think so yeah the way that it's profiled it kind of has some like yank and some air to it i really liked that yeah um but that was really the only notable part i guess it kind of has a little bit of a top hat too with some air but other than those moments it doesn't have a ton of interesting things to it but once you start spinning yeah it's a whole different ball game
01:40:06
Speaker
It changes the ride at the end.
01:40:07
Speaker
I feel like you start to feel like when you're not spinning, it feels like it's endless.
01:40:11
Speaker
You're like, all right, this is kind of going on for a little too long now.
01:40:14
Speaker
Whereas with the spinning, it kind of added to it.
01:40:17
Speaker
It didn't feel like you were kind of wasting time there.
01:40:21
Speaker
You were just spinning.
01:40:22
Speaker
Yeah, for sure.
01:40:25
Speaker
So I highly recommend.
01:40:26
Speaker
Spend the $20 or whatever and do it.
01:40:27
Speaker
Definitely worth it.
01:40:28
Speaker
Yeah.
01:40:29
Speaker
Sit on the right-hand side and lean out.
01:40:34
Speaker
and you'll spin.
01:40:36
Speaker
I was bummed that I didn't ride it again later, because I noticed it even being a little faster just between the two ERT rides that I got.
01:40:43
Speaker
The second one, I could tell the wheels were warming up a little bit or whatever, but yeah.
01:40:51
Speaker
I'm not disappointed that we did Valhalla instead of going back to the UICON again, though.
01:40:57
Speaker
Yeah, let's talk about Valhalla.

Blackpool Pleasure Beach Highlights

01:40:59
Speaker
Yeah.
01:41:00
Speaker
Highlight of the day, I think.
01:41:02
Speaker
Yeah, I didn't do that.
01:41:03
Speaker
We almost didn't do it.
01:41:05
Speaker
Thank you, Scott.
01:41:06
Speaker
Truly, you were the reason I rode that ride.
01:41:10
Speaker
So I thank you.
01:41:11
Speaker
I appreciate it.
01:41:12
Speaker
And also the ponchos we stole from other people.
01:41:16
Speaker
Yeah, I had a pants poncho and an upper poncho.
01:41:22
Speaker
So I was completely covered.
01:41:23
Speaker
I did not get wet at all.
01:41:25
Speaker
Shout out Sudo for the pants poncho.
01:41:27
Speaker
It went up to my nipples.
01:41:28
Speaker
Yeah.
01:41:30
Speaker
Very helpful.
01:41:31
Speaker
He came out double stacked.
01:41:33
Speaker
He had two pairs of pants and two ponchos.
01:41:37
Speaker
Shout out to me for dropping that link because he bought it because of me and it's a two-pack.
01:41:42
Speaker
I also bought it and guess what?
01:41:43
Speaker
I left it on the bus.
01:41:45
Speaker
I left it on the bus because I was like, I'm not going to ride it.
01:41:49
Speaker
It was chilly that day so we weren't going to ride it.
01:41:51
Speaker
It was what, like 65 and windy?
01:41:54
Speaker
And windy.
01:41:55
Speaker
So windy.
01:41:56
Speaker
Very cold.
01:41:57
Speaker
I couldn't do that.
01:41:58
Speaker
I was like, no, I think I'm good.
01:42:00
Speaker
I'm so glad I had the pants, though, because those boats, the water in the bottom.
01:42:04
Speaker
Oh, my God.
01:42:04
Speaker
That's what it was, though.
01:42:05
Speaker
It wasn't actually that like a ton of water was coming on top of you.
01:42:09
Speaker
It was like coming in from the sides and the bottom of the boat.
01:42:12
Speaker
My entire undercarriage would have been completely demolished if I didn't have those pants things on.
01:42:18
Speaker
Yeah.
01:42:20
Speaker
Because that water, like, literally formed a pool in my poncho.
01:42:25
Speaker
Yes, they were vacuuming it out of the boat.
01:42:27
Speaker
That's insane.
01:42:30
Speaker
I pulled the poncho that I stole from somebody, like, down over my knees.
01:42:33
Speaker
But then, like, on the second drop, it blew off my head.
01:42:37
Speaker
Oh, no!
01:42:38
Speaker
So, like, I got my head completely soaked.
01:42:41
Speaker
Like, you know, a bunch of water got, like, in the top.
01:42:44
Speaker
Oh, no.
01:42:44
Speaker
And I was, like, trying to get it back on, you know?
01:42:46
Speaker
But, yeah.
01:42:46
Speaker
Yeah.
01:42:47
Speaker
Yeah, that was an awesome ride, though.
01:42:49
Speaker
Really cool.
01:42:49
Speaker
It was really cool.
01:42:50
Speaker
It's yeah, like, obviously, it's renowned for drenching people.
01:42:54
Speaker
And we were some of us were prepared for that.
01:42:57
Speaker
But nobody there's there's not really a good way to record a POV of it because it's very dark inside.
01:43:03
Speaker
But it is a dark ride.
01:43:04
Speaker
And there are dark ride elements.
01:43:06
Speaker
And like, there's some cool theming stuff that happens.
01:43:10
Speaker
And then there's fire.
01:43:12
Speaker
And yeah, it's it's very well done.
01:43:14
Speaker
Spooky at times.
01:43:15
Speaker
Mm hmm.
01:43:16
Speaker
Yeah.
01:43:17
Speaker
Definitely had the underworld feel, right?
01:43:20
Speaker
Absolutely a must do at that park.
01:43:22
Speaker
Yeah.
01:43:23
Speaker
Yeah.
01:43:23
Speaker
For sure.
01:43:24
Speaker
Fire was actually a little intimidating.
01:43:25
Speaker
Thank you, Scott.
01:43:26
Speaker
Covered in plastic.
01:43:27
Speaker
I was like, oh.
01:43:28
Speaker
Don't tear skin.
01:43:29
Speaker
There's a lot of water here.
01:43:30
Speaker
Yeah.
01:43:37
Speaker
Let's bang through the rest of these rides because none of them are great.
01:43:39
Speaker
Yeah, I was going to say there's a lot of filler in this park.
01:43:43
Speaker
Notable things was the butt bruise on Steeplechase.
01:43:47
Speaker
Yep.
01:43:49
Speaker
That'll rock your hips a little.
01:43:51
Speaker
I was Kelly's child.
01:43:54
Speaker
You are so lucky because you didn't have that nasty ass bar going into your butt.
01:43:59
Speaker
You guys had that really hard stop, though.
01:44:02
Speaker
Oh, yeah.
01:44:03
Speaker
Green train.
01:44:04
Speaker
Green horse.
01:44:05
Speaker
Whatever you want.
01:44:07
Speaker
Green track.
01:44:11
Speaker
The whole day.
01:44:11
Speaker
Did anybody else do more than one track?
01:44:14
Speaker
I just did the one.
01:44:15
Speaker
Yeah.
01:44:15
Speaker
There were woodies.
01:44:18
Speaker
Woodies galore.
01:44:20
Speaker
A small one.
01:44:21
Speaker
A medium one.
01:44:21
Speaker
Grand National.
01:44:23
Speaker
And a white knuckle woody.
01:44:25
Speaker
They were all fine.
01:44:26
Speaker
What's white knuckle?
01:44:28
Speaker
I don't know.
01:44:28
Speaker
Big Dipper said, like, this is a Big Knuckle ride.
01:44:31
Speaker
You did say that on the recording.
01:44:33
Speaker
Big Dipper is, like, I think the most historic one there.
01:44:37
Speaker
I enjoyed it.
01:44:38
Speaker
I don't know.
01:44:38
Speaker
I thought both that and Grand National had a reputation of being rough.
01:44:43
Speaker
And, like, they were rough.
01:44:45
Speaker
But if you ride in the right seat, like, it was fine.
01:44:49
Speaker
I enjoyed Grand National.
01:44:50
Speaker
I rode it twice, like, towards the back of the train.
01:44:52
Speaker
And there was some good airtime on there.
01:44:54
Speaker
I don't know.
01:44:56
Speaker
I had to do one for each side for the full cred.
01:44:59
Speaker
That's right.
01:44:59
Speaker
They benched me for like two hours.
01:45:01
Speaker
I got a really bad jar on Grand National.
01:45:03
Speaker
I was like, all right, I'll be hanging out, guys.
01:45:06
Speaker
I made sure to ride the middle row on every wheel.
01:45:10
Speaker
Stay off those wheels.
01:45:12
Speaker
Yeah, I was on a back wheel, unfortunately.
01:45:15
Speaker
Yeah, that probably hurt.
01:45:17
Speaker
um nickelodeon streak was totally unremarkable yeah nothing yeah um same thing with blue flyer which is like their kitty wood coaster yeah yeah slc infusion not bad didn't hate it yeah didn't hate it yeah did the thing yep did that the whole time i was totally fine
01:45:39
Speaker
Revolution, that was my first aero shuttle loop.
01:45:42
Speaker
Those things are a banger.
01:45:43
Speaker
They're fun.
01:45:44
Speaker
Not anywhere as good as Diamondback at Frontier City.
01:45:47
Speaker
It doesn't launch as fast as Diamondback.
01:45:50
Speaker
But it still has the airtime pops.
01:45:53
Speaker
Pretty fun.
01:45:55
Speaker
Avalanche, that was our second ERT.
01:45:58
Speaker
That was our replacement for Big One.
01:46:00
Speaker
We were hoping to have Big One for our second ERT.
01:46:03
Speaker
That did not happen.
01:46:05
Speaker
Still because of the win.
01:46:06
Speaker
So we got Avalanche as...
01:46:08
Speaker
the backup, which I think it's a really fun bobsled.
01:46:11
Speaker
Honestly, it's one of the best mock bobsleds out there.
01:46:14
Speaker
That ride we had Joey was by far my best.
01:46:17
Speaker
I don't remember where we were or where we were sitting.
01:46:20
Speaker
Were you my child?
01:46:20
Speaker
I think I was your child again.
01:46:22
Speaker
Yeah.
01:46:22
Speaker
I think I was behind you guys and you guys flew.
01:46:27
Speaker
I saw that and I was like, holy crap.
01:46:30
Speaker
I was laughing so hard.
01:46:31
Speaker
I was like, how did that just happen?
01:46:34
Speaker
And then like, I couldn't normally, if something like that happens, I'll like, you know, look at the person next to me, but like Joey was in front of me.
01:46:39
Speaker
So I couldn't like see what his face was.
01:46:41
Speaker
I was like, did that just actually happen?
01:46:43
Speaker
Yep.
01:46:44
Speaker
leave the ride yeah back to it there's like two moments on there with well one of them is like a little bit lighter than the other but the second one in particular has the reactor airtime and you're like what is this doing on a bobsled they don't normally do this to you
01:47:00
Speaker
Yeah, it was fun.
01:47:01
Speaker
That was really fun.
01:47:02
Speaker
To be honest, like... The big boy train was getting high on the sides of that thing.
01:47:07
Speaker
We had a lot of weight in that train.
01:47:09
Speaker
And then Marcus was like, Rafa, get in.
01:47:11
Speaker
I'm like, okay.
01:47:13
Speaker
Yeah, you rode the big boy train.
01:47:15
Speaker
I was, and it was flying.
01:47:16
Speaker
I was like, holy shit.
01:47:18
Speaker
Yeah, that thing was cooking.
01:47:20
Speaker
So many of the bobsleds have like one of those mid-course breaks, and this has none.
01:47:24
Speaker
It just goes.
01:47:25
Speaker
So by the end of it, it picks up so much speed.
01:47:27
Speaker
I think that's why it has that like little, those two airtime moments.
01:47:30
Speaker
Yeah.
01:47:31
Speaker
And so to be honest with you, just like looking at the lineup, since we already had ERT on Icon, I think that might be what I would have picked anyway.
01:47:41
Speaker
Because I don't think I would have survived ERT on the Woodies.
01:47:44
Speaker
Yeah, it was a good choice.
01:47:47
Speaker
Or Infusion.
01:47:48
Speaker
Yeah, yeah.
01:47:50
Speaker
No.
01:47:52
Speaker
Their little ghost train was adorable.
01:47:54
Speaker
Loved it.
01:47:55
Speaker
And it's a crit.
01:47:56
Speaker
Is it a crit?
01:47:57
Speaker
Yes.
01:47:58
Speaker
I counted it.
01:47:59
Speaker
Yeah, I agree.
01:48:01
Speaker
Everybody seems to agree.
01:48:03
Speaker
Definitely.
01:48:03
Speaker
There are versions of that ride that are more questionable.
01:48:09
Speaker
I feel like this one was pretty clear for me.
01:48:12
Speaker
Yeah.
01:48:12
Speaker
There was gravity happening.
01:48:14
Speaker
There was a lift.
01:48:16
Speaker
Yeah.
01:48:17
Speaker
I counted the one at Camden, and this is more of a crit than that one.
01:48:21
Speaker
Yeah.
01:48:22
Speaker
You think?
01:48:22
Speaker
Yeah, for sure.
01:48:25
Speaker
The one is more just because it's like gravity the whole time after you go up the first lift.
01:48:28
Speaker
But this one, I mean, it's a pretty fast drop and it's got anti-rollbacks and everything.
01:48:34
Speaker
Yeah.
01:48:35
Speaker
Yeah, I see what you mean.
01:48:36
Speaker
Okay.
01:48:38
Speaker
Maybe I'll have to update my count because I didn't not because I didn't like fully believe that it was one.
01:48:43
Speaker
I was just too lazy to do it.
01:48:44
Speaker
Yeah, I don't know.
01:48:48
Speaker
What are the other things?
01:48:50
Speaker
We did Wallace and Gromit.
01:48:51
Speaker
Did anybody else do that?
01:48:52
Speaker
No.
01:48:53
Speaker
It was kind of cute, actually.
01:48:55
Speaker
Like it looked like it used to be some kind of, I don't know, like cave or underground dark ride and they kind of retrofit it.
01:49:01
Speaker
But it was long.
01:49:02
Speaker
Like there were a lot of scenes and it was pretty, pretty well done considering it was a black pool, to be honest.
01:49:09
Speaker
We did a haunted house outside the park.
01:49:12
Speaker
Yeah, we did.
01:49:13
Speaker
It was great.
01:49:16
Speaker
Passage de terror.
01:49:18
Speaker
Yeah.
01:49:20
Speaker
We went in as a group of like, I don't know, eight, I think.
01:49:24
Speaker
Yeah.
01:49:24
Speaker
Yeah.
01:49:26
Speaker
Now, before we went in, Matt texted me that this was the best haunted house he's ever done.
01:49:33
Speaker
So I was like, come on, bro.
01:49:34
Speaker
I already knew from the moment you said that.
01:49:35
Speaker
I was like, no way.
01:49:38
Speaker
I think with Wicker Man, he was like, this is the best, Woody.
01:49:42
Speaker
I was like, what are you talking about?
01:49:44
Speaker
I'm like, come on, Matt.
01:49:45
Speaker
You can't do this shit to me, man.
01:49:47
Speaker
Yeah, so once I heard that and then I heard this, I'm like, yeah, no, he's full of it.
01:49:51
Speaker
I think it was, though, very well done.
01:49:54
Speaker
You can tell that they put a lot of effort into it.
01:49:57
Speaker
The actors were really good.
01:49:59
Speaker
There were a couple of memorable moments, mostly that girl on the bed.
01:50:04
Speaker
Yeah, exorcism.
01:50:06
Speaker
Yeah.
01:50:06
Speaker
We...
01:50:09
Speaker
You were in the front, Scott, so you probably had a different experience than we did in the back, but I didn't get any scares because I kind of positioned myself in a bad spot, I think.
01:50:19
Speaker
But I think if I were toward the front, I would have enjoyed it more.
01:50:22
Speaker
I like to be scared.
01:50:23
Speaker
I need to stop letting other people go ahead and just be in the front.
01:50:26
Speaker
Yes, you do, because it makes me so nervous.
01:50:29
Speaker
It's uncomfortable.
01:50:31
Speaker
But...
01:50:32
Speaker
i definitely behind scott too i was like oh my god i don't know like push me forward a couple times because i didn't know where to go but but i felt bad because i yeah i mean like walking through it in the front first of all there's like the moment where ghost faced like jumped across me i don't even know if you guys even saw that but like literally full scream ip slashed at my throat like you
01:50:58
Speaker
And then I walk into another room and there's just Michael Myers just standing there in a room.
01:51:04
Speaker
And I'm like, oh, he's just going to walk out.
01:51:06
Speaker
And then he lunged at me with a knife.
01:51:08
Speaker
And I was like, oh my god.
01:51:10
Speaker
So yeah, I think that...
01:51:13
Speaker
being in the front of your group in that particular experience, I think you definitely get more of, of that.
01:51:19
Speaker
Yeah.
01:51:19
Speaker
I walked through the exorcism room fast on purpose.
01:51:22
Speaker
Cause I, I know this one's coming.
01:51:27
Speaker
I'm not going to let it get me.
01:51:28
Speaker
Yeah.
01:51:33
Speaker
Definitely.
01:51:34
Speaker
Definitely not the best haunted house I've ever done, but I think it's the best sort of standalone boardwalk style haunted house I've done.
01:51:42
Speaker
Yeah.
01:51:42
Speaker
It was good.
01:51:43
Speaker
I just wouldn't care to do it again, but I thought it was, I thought it was pretty well done.
01:51:47
Speaker
Yeah.
01:51:49
Speaker
Yeah.
01:51:49
Speaker
I'm glad we did it for sure.
01:51:50
Speaker
But yeah.
01:51:52
Speaker
Well, everyone, we're doing great on time.
01:51:57
Speaker
Was there anything else at that park that was not a coaster that we did?
01:52:03
Speaker
I wrote that old-fashioned swing thing next to Valhalla.
01:52:06
Speaker
Oh, like the Legendia one?
01:52:09
Speaker
Yeah, yeah.
01:52:12
Speaker
They didn't have a drop tower, did they?
01:52:14
Speaker
The hospitality, again, was very good at Blackpool.
01:52:18
Speaker
Yes.
01:52:18
Speaker
Again, I don't remember her name.
01:52:20
Speaker
Shout out to Allison.
01:52:21
Speaker
Allison.
01:52:21
Speaker
Okay, she came to pick us up from the hotel, basically walked us in for ERT in the morning.
01:52:27
Speaker
She was there for our...
01:52:28
Speaker
ERT on avalanche too

Exploring Blackpool and Its Attractions

01:52:30
Speaker
very nice yeah I was like hyped up for our ERT which was always nice to see also they were super nice to us when we left the park like at park close to do the haunted house and came back in when they weren't letting people come back we're here for the ERT and they were like okay come on in they were pretty good with that also we didn't talk about it but the hotel was pretty nice
01:52:54
Speaker
yeah that was really nice i thought it was gonna be one of the worst that's what i thought too and it was like this is gonna be like a seedy boardwalk situation but it was and the breakfast area was nice and like yeah yeah it was great shout out to the bar staff the night before uh oh gosh i was down there until like 1 30. oh yeah they had a full house with you guys there
01:53:15
Speaker
In the hours on the sign said 11.
01:53:17
Speaker
And so I thought they were just being really nice and just like, but I guess they serve drinks until one 30 every night, but the food stops at 11.
01:53:24
Speaker
But you know, I didn't know that.
01:53:26
Speaker
So I thought that they were just going above and beyond for us.
01:53:29
Speaker
Did anybody go to the velvet coaster bar?
01:53:31
Speaker
I know that some people did.
01:53:34
Speaker
No.
01:53:34
Speaker
Yeah, I don't know.
01:53:35
Speaker
It sounded like drinks were like so cheap.
01:53:38
Speaker
That was pretty funny.
01:53:39
Speaker
Like $2 pints or something.
01:53:40
Speaker
Yeah.
01:53:41
Speaker
Yeah.
01:53:41
Speaker
Maybe next time.
01:53:43
Speaker
Yeah.
01:53:44
Speaker
Because you have to get a big one.
01:53:45
Speaker
Going back to Blackpool and spending two or three days just in the town.
01:53:51
Speaker
Yeah.
01:53:51
Speaker
Yeah.
01:53:52
Speaker
I just love those sort of boardwalk beachy towns like that.
01:53:56
Speaker
There's got to be some other stuff around there.
01:53:58
Speaker
I haven't looked into it or I don't know.
01:54:00
Speaker
I'm sure there's an awesome beach.
01:54:01
Speaker
Did you see that tower?
01:54:01
Speaker
There's some castles.
01:54:03
Speaker
There's a big tower in the distance.
01:54:04
Speaker
It looks like you can go up and get in the view of everything.
01:54:09
Speaker
That's my vibe.
01:54:10
Speaker
Yeah.
01:54:12
Speaker
All right.
01:54:13
Speaker
Anything else on Blackpool as we approach two hours?
01:54:18
Speaker
That's it.
01:54:19
Speaker
We're going.
01:54:20
Speaker
We're going.
01:54:20
Speaker
Stay tuned for, I guess...
01:54:23
Speaker
what we did technically this was the last um official day of the trip so we we did end by busing to manchester and then i didn't participate kelly didn't participate but there was a party at freight island in man oh yeah there was a party it was great it was it was really really cool it was so fun and it was such a bummer i and with this it was a bummer that you guys didn't get to go like a lot of people didn't go yeah and the ones that a lot of people that did go they
01:54:51
Speaker
were kind of just there for the food and then they were like out because they were tired.
01:54:54
Speaker
Everybody was beat by then.
01:54:57
Speaker
But it was so much fun.
01:54:58
Speaker
And I wish that were something that we had earlier on in the stumble.
01:55:02
Speaker
That would have been really fun because there was a lot to do there.
01:55:06
Speaker
We're definitely going to try to do that next time is have some kind of introductory event.
01:55:09
Speaker
It was just awkward this time because we have Emerald Park and not everybody was like.
01:55:13
Speaker
Right.
01:55:14
Speaker
So it's like everybody had different starts.
01:55:15
Speaker
Yeah.
01:55:17
Speaker
So I get it.
01:55:18
Speaker
And we all had different ends too.
01:55:19
Speaker
That's why I didn't go.
01:55:19
Speaker
Like I really wanted to like say goodbye to people and like hang out.
01:55:22
Speaker
But with a 6am flight the next day, it was just like, yeah, it was like five something.
01:55:27
Speaker
And I was like, I will not be able to do it.
01:55:29
Speaker
Yeah, I don't blame you guys.
01:55:31
Speaker
But we it was really nice.
01:55:32
Speaker
We had a nice group there.
01:55:34
Speaker
It was pretty fun.
01:55:36
Speaker
We had a bunch of drinks.
01:55:38
Speaker
I think we had like six tequila shots that night.
01:55:43
Speaker
No responsibility this time.
01:55:46
Speaker
It wasn't me this time.
01:55:47
Speaker
I promise.
01:55:49
Speaker
It was Tim and Javi.
01:55:50
Speaker
Of course it was Javi.
01:55:52
Speaker
Shout out Javi.
01:55:54
Speaker
It was me, Javi, Shay, and Bethany.
01:55:58
Speaker
Bethany was having a bunch of shots too.
01:56:01
Speaker
Oh, girl.
01:56:02
Speaker
Yeah, it was a good time.
01:56:03
Speaker
We had a good time.
01:56:04
Speaker
Definitely wish that everybody else were able to make it to that, but I totally get it.
01:56:09
Speaker
We were dead by that day.
01:56:11
Speaker
It was a lot.
01:56:12
Speaker
You guys were leaving and flying out pretty early, so I totally get it.
01:56:18
Speaker
More on the rest later.
01:56:19
Speaker
Next time.
01:56:22
Speaker
Kelly, do you want to walk us through the HHN updates real quick?
01:56:26
Speaker
Of course I do.
01:56:28
Speaker
So we'll talk about some of the original houses that were announced.

HHN Announcements and Excitement

01:56:33
Speaker
All five of them were announced within the week of us being in Europe.
01:56:38
Speaker
Of course, right?
01:56:39
Speaker
Yeah, it's like every day it was happening.
01:56:41
Speaker
But of course, we were on like a different time schedule.
01:56:43
Speaker
So it was like we weren't really prepared for them.
01:56:46
Speaker
So the first one that was dropped was actually announced at Spooky Empire, which is like a convention that they do every year in Orlando.
01:56:55
Speaker
And a lot of the creators of HHN and like the showrunners and stuff are there and they...
01:57:02
Speaker
talked about El Artista, a Spanish haunting.
01:57:07
Speaker
And they gave a little bit of backstory.
01:57:10
Speaker
There is a tortured artist named Sergio.
01:57:13
Speaker
He has a name and they made it very clear.
01:57:15
Speaker
He's not an icon of the event, but that a lot of his backstory will be like intertwined into the overarching theme of the event, which is supposed to be a conservatory.
01:57:25
Speaker
And he's,
01:57:26
Speaker
have kind of theming of like old Gothic, like stained glass buildings with like gargoyle statues and things like that.
01:57:34
Speaker
But his story is that it is 19th century Spain and he moves into an isolated country manor for inspiration.
01:57:43
Speaker
And all of his art comes alive and possesses him.
01:57:48
Speaker
And they showed some images at the spooky empire of like some of his
01:57:53
Speaker
the characters that were, you know, his artwork that, that are going to be part of the house as well.
01:57:59
Speaker
What do you guys think about this original house?
01:58:04
Speaker
I'm excited for it.
01:58:05
Speaker
And I think we called it cause we were talking about like the potential of like art coming to life based off of the little symbol that we, that we saw, um, on the spec map.
01:58:14
Speaker
Um, but I really liked the theme of it being like the, what was it?
01:58:17
Speaker
The conservatory.
01:58:18
Speaker
Was that what it was?
01:58:20
Speaker
Um,
01:58:20
Speaker
I think that was pretty neat.
01:58:21
Speaker
Like, I feel like we have icons sometimes and they have nothing to do with the majority of what's going on in the event.
01:58:29
Speaker
Like, this can kind of keep everything on theme, hopefully.
01:58:33
Speaker
I mean, we got to see how it is, but I kind of like it.
01:58:38
Speaker
Yeah, I think...
01:58:41
Speaker
I think it will be, people are talking about this being like the house of the year in the community.
01:58:48
Speaker
And I think some of that comes from, I guess, the same guy.
01:58:55
Speaker
I wrote his name down somewhere.
01:58:58
Speaker
Dylan Colath.
01:59:01
Speaker
I don't know if I'm pronouncing his name right or wrong, but he was responsible for Blood Moon, Dead Man's Pier, and Goblin's Feast.
01:59:08
Speaker
So some of the best houses in the last couple of years.
01:59:12
Speaker
That's exciting for me.
01:59:14
Speaker
Yeah.
01:59:14
Speaker
Because I feel like the set for this is going to be really good then.
01:59:17
Speaker
And that's awesome.
01:59:20
Speaker
Yeah, for sure.
01:59:21
Speaker
I think that the fact that they kind of went out of their way to highlight this one as well, you know, at the Spooky Empire event that says something about what they think about it, you know, like...
01:59:31
Speaker
whether that's dollars or just a general buy-in to the concept, like, I think that's a good sign.
01:59:37
Speaker
Yeah.
01:59:38
Speaker
I also like that they're, they do a lot of like Latin American themed houses, but this one is like Spain Spanish.
01:59:45
Speaker
So I think that'll be unique and interesting and it's going to be in a soundstage.
01:59:49
Speaker
So I anticipate that some of the sets will be pretty large.
01:59:52
Speaker
Yeah.
01:59:52
Speaker
Spain has imagining Barcelona vibes too.
01:59:55
Speaker
Yeah.
01:59:55
Speaker
Yeah.
01:59:56
Speaker
Yeah.
01:59:57
Speaker
Yeah, I hope so.
01:59:59
Speaker
I'm pretty excited for it amongst the group of originals.
02:00:02
Speaker
Obviously, as we get closer to HHN, we can do like our hype lists and stuff.
02:00:05
Speaker
But I feel like this one's going to be pretty good.
02:00:08
Speaker
Yes.
02:00:10
Speaker
All right.
02:00:10
Speaker
So that was the first one.
02:00:11
Speaker
And then like two days later, they or maybe even it was just a day later, they released Hatchet and Chains Demon Bounty Hunters, which we kind of knew from the spec map.
02:00:22
Speaker
that this was coming.
02:00:24
Speaker
The description is in this old West town, all hell is breaking loose.
02:00:27
Speaker
Red hot lava demons are trying to possess everyone, melting everything in their path.
02:00:34
Speaker
So I think this has potential.
02:00:38
Speaker
Like we've talked about before, like the Western theme, I think that's like really like become kind of like reinvigorated some like of
02:00:48
Speaker
are like the culture of this era.
02:00:49
Speaker
Like a lot of people, I don't know if it's like part of the Nashville thing, like everybody goes to Nashville for their bachelor and bachelorette parties, but I feel like the Western vibes have been like kind of on trend.
02:01:03
Speaker
So I feel like this will play into that.
02:01:05
Speaker
I'm still kind of confused about what the actual story is.
02:01:10
Speaker
Yeah, I have no idea.
02:01:12
Speaker
Why are they lava demons?
02:01:13
Speaker
I don't know.
02:01:14
Speaker
I don't know.
02:01:15
Speaker
I'm hoping that Universal, once they do their podcast, their little short episodes that they do about a lot of the originals to help explain them, I hope they do one on this.
02:01:26
Speaker
I'm sure they will because it's kind of like, what is happening?
02:01:29
Speaker
And the part of what's it called?
02:01:33
Speaker
Slaughter Cinema that this was in was so short compared to some of the other like
02:01:38
Speaker
rooms in that yeah house i feel so yeah the only thing we got from that was like the aesthetic of what this house is going to be like outside of that we don't know anything about the story i feel like it has a lot of potential but i'm prepared for this to be one of the ones that's a little bit like fine yeah yeah i could see that i hope it's good i feel like the vibe could make it a good house but it just depends like and it kind of depends like i don't know if i can
02:02:04
Speaker
if I picture them trying to take this seriously or if this is going to be campy, I feel like it needs to be campy for it to be good.
02:02:11
Speaker
I can see it being campy.
02:02:13
Speaker
I think it would be based on the lineup.
02:02:16
Speaker
Lava monsters.
02:02:18
Speaker
Yeah.
02:02:20
Speaker
Also, it came from slaughter cinema, which is like the definition of camp.
02:02:25
Speaker
Um, okay.
02:02:26
Speaker
And then we'll do one more and we'll save the other two for next time.
02:02:29
Speaker
The last or the, the third one that they announced is dolls.
02:02:33
Speaker
Let's play dead.
02:02:34
Speaker
You're about to become doll sized and be hunted by toys that have been burnt, melded and stitched together by a twisted little girl.
02:02:41
Speaker
And then if you read, that was like the Instagram description, I think, but somewhere else it said, um,
02:02:50
Speaker
that you'll go under her bed and be stalked by the toys she stitched together.
02:02:54
Speaker
You'll end in her creepy Victorian dollhouse.
02:02:57
Speaker
This excites me because it feels like
02:03:01
Speaker
Toy Story vibes, but in Sid's room.
02:03:04
Speaker
I was just going to say, it's Sid's room, but it's a house.
02:03:08
Speaker
Yeah.
02:03:09
Speaker
I think things are going to be blown up size-wise.
02:03:14
Speaker
We're going to be in a dollhouse under the bed.
02:03:17
Speaker
That sounds so fun.
02:03:18
Speaker
Hopefully it's good.
02:03:20
Speaker
Yeah, I hope so.
02:03:21
Speaker
It sounds like a fun idea, though.
02:03:23
Speaker
It's such a classic fear to play on, too.
02:03:26
Speaker
You know, like the whole under the bed, you know.
02:03:28
Speaker
Yeah, it's just the tapping into a very classic theme there.
02:03:33
Speaker
Yeah, like a very childhood, like creepy tale kind of vibe, and I like that.
02:03:39
Speaker
And all three of these feel very specific set wise, location wise, story wise compared to some of the others where sometimes we have like a generic slasher story.
02:03:49
Speaker
We don't really have that here, which is kind of cool.
02:03:51
Speaker
Everyone has its own niche and vibe.
02:03:54
Speaker
Which is good because some of the IPs are very slashery.
02:03:57
Speaker
So I think it's good that they didn't rely on that kind of story for an original.
02:04:03
Speaker
Yeah.
02:04:04
Speaker
I feel like it's a little bit hard to picture.
02:04:07
Speaker
This is obviously we don't know locations for sure, but this is rumored right now to be in one of the original tents.
02:04:15
Speaker
Like Oddfellow Darkest Deal tent.
02:04:18
Speaker
Just a little strange because those feel those are usually like
02:04:21
Speaker
those like really tight feeling houses.
02:04:24
Speaker
I mean, I could see that being the case with a bunch of toys and dolls.
02:04:27
Speaker
Like, yeah, I don't, I could see it being that way.
02:04:29
Speaker
I just don't know how they're going to make everything seem grand and us feel small.
02:04:34
Speaker
You know what I mean?
02:04:35
Speaker
Yeah.
02:04:36
Speaker
Without this.
02:04:36
Speaker
Yeah.
02:04:37
Speaker
Without the clearance above you.
02:04:38
Speaker
Right.
02:04:38
Speaker
Yeah.
02:04:40
Speaker
Yeah.
02:04:40
Speaker
I guess we'll see.
02:04:41
Speaker
Yeah.
02:04:44
Speaker
We'll stop there for today.
02:04:47
Speaker
Stay tuned for much more HHN content as we get closer to the event.
02:04:54
Speaker
We do have a few questions just to run through real quick.
02:04:56
Speaker
We're in a little bit of a time constraint because we're over two hours now.
02:05:00
Speaker
So if you don't hear your question, we will try to get to it next week.
02:05:04
Speaker
But real quick from Caleb, rank the spooky attractions from Thorpe slash Alton.
02:05:09
Speaker
So we've got Ghost Train, Alton Manor, Hex, The Walking Dead, and Nemesis Subterra.
02:05:16
Speaker
Curse is one.
02:05:17
Speaker
Curse at Altman is one.
02:05:19
Speaker
That's just obvious.
02:05:21
Speaker
Subterra is two for me.
02:05:23
Speaker
Yep.
02:05:26
Speaker
Then... Hex is last.
02:05:34
Speaker
Fuck yeah.
02:05:36
Speaker
I would put Hex last.
02:05:41
Speaker
Mine would go Cursed at Alton, Ghost Train, Nemesis of Terra, Walking Dead, The Ride, and then Hex.
02:05:51
Speaker
I didn't do Ghost Train, but slash that from the list.
02:05:54
Speaker
That's my list.
02:05:56
Speaker
I'm going to differ from the group.
02:05:59
Speaker
I'm going to put Ghost Train and Sub Terra over Alton Manor just because I love an experience like that.
02:06:05
Speaker
I know that's a hot take.
02:06:08
Speaker
I appreciate it though because Subterra is like up there though like that's I'm torn between that and Curse being yeah they're just so unique for a theme park yeah and the elevator thing we didn't even talk about that earlier but the elevator thing leaving Subterra was pretty cool too oh yeah I forgot about that part alright from show which ghost train reigns supreme definitely Thorpe
02:06:35
Speaker
Thorpe.
02:06:38
Speaker
100%.
02:06:38
Speaker
Blackpool.
02:06:39
Speaker
No, I'm just kidding.
02:06:41
Speaker
That's all I can say.
02:06:42
Speaker
I didn't do the other one.
02:06:43
Speaker
It was good.
02:06:45
Speaker
A little flying head at the start.
02:06:47
Speaker
I love that.
02:06:48
Speaker
Not Phantajaland Ghost Train, unfortunately.
02:06:52
Speaker
No.
02:06:53
Speaker
That's the bummer of that park.
02:06:56
Speaker
That's such a bummer that you guys didn't even talk about it when we talked about Phantajaland.
02:07:01
Speaker
I know.
02:07:01
Speaker
I totally forgot about that.
02:07:02
Speaker
I don't remember it.
02:07:04
Speaker
I don't know if I remember it.
02:07:11
Speaker
All right, from Jeff.
02:07:13
Speaker
Over under 1,000 drinks consumed by the Stumble Across the Pond crew.
02:07:18
Speaker
That's a good question.
02:07:19
Speaker
So that's like 13-ish per person.
02:07:22
Speaker
Not both of us doing that math.
02:07:24
Speaker
Yes.
02:07:25
Speaker
I literally did the math and I was like, wait.
02:07:28
Speaker
So that's an average of 13 drinks per person.
02:07:31
Speaker
Did that happen over the course of what?
02:07:32
Speaker
That's close.
02:07:33
Speaker
I know I'm way under.
02:07:34
Speaker
I have like two drinks.
02:07:36
Speaker
But I know there are people that are like in the 20s probably.
02:07:40
Speaker
I mean, Jeff and I drank 10 beers just between the two of us that night at Blackpool.
02:07:44
Speaker
So we did 1% of it right there.
02:07:47
Speaker
You're over, but not I. I would bet the farm on the over, literally.
02:07:53
Speaker
Ship it, like I said.
02:07:54
Speaker
Honestly, we can do a poll.
02:07:57
Speaker
We can poll everybody.
02:07:58
Speaker
How many drinks did you have?
02:07:59
Speaker
We can figure this out.
02:08:00
Speaker
Don't.
02:08:01
Speaker
No, no, no.
02:08:02
Speaker
Anonymous.
02:08:03
Speaker
Yeah, I don't know.
02:08:06
Speaker
go back through my capital one bill all right um last question from sam out of the three parks we talked about today what ride exceeded expectations which met them and what was a letdown i feel like we kind of touched on it as we go around though because i feel like that's fun let's let's all answer it solo
02:08:32
Speaker
I'll say Hyperia exceeded for me.
02:08:35
Speaker
Same.
02:08:36
Speaker
Agreed.
02:08:38
Speaker
Icon met, and Nemesis disappointed, I guess.
02:08:44
Speaker
Yeah, I was going to say Galactica exceeded for me.
02:08:49
Speaker
Definitely, I loved Hyperia, but I expected it to be good.
02:08:52
Speaker
So I would say Galactica exceeded, let down by Nemesis, and then met my expectations.
02:08:58
Speaker
I'd say probably...
02:09:02
Speaker
from those three parks.
02:09:05
Speaker
I don't know.
02:09:05
Speaker
Most of the rides that I rode, I don't know.
02:09:08
Speaker
I feel like I do a pretty good job job of like setting expectations.
02:09:12
Speaker
Yeah.
02:09:13
Speaker
Yeah.
02:09:14
Speaker
Exceeded for me would be 13.
02:09:18
Speaker
Let down, definitely nemesis.
02:09:21
Speaker
And yeah, I don't know which met them.
02:09:24
Speaker
I mean, I guess icon.
02:09:25
Speaker
I didn't really have,
02:09:27
Speaker
the highest hopes for that and it was fine so yeah that's why i chose it because i had no hopes for it but it was fun yeah i think exceeded for me is enzo that was that was incredible um i let down nemesis and um and met hmm
02:09:53
Speaker
Probably Saw because I didn't think I was going to hate it.
02:09:57
Speaker
I think I knew I was going to like it, but just not a lot, but I liked it.
02:10:05
Speaker
I think it kind of just was there.
02:10:07
Speaker
I'm happy to have enjoyed it as much as I did.
02:10:11
Speaker
Yeah.
02:10:12
Speaker
For me, it's like Saw, Smiler, and Colossus all exceeded expectations just based on their negative reputations.
02:10:19
Speaker
I also agree with Dawn because Hyperia was better than I expected.
02:10:23
Speaker
um i met expectations was like so many rides that's like a long list um and then yeah nemesis was kind of a letdown unfortunately there wasn't a lot of things that really were though to be honest yeah i agree yeah i kind of want to do bethany's question what rides do you think would be a good addition to these parks mainly thorpe and alton
02:10:47
Speaker
Because I'm thinking about Thorpe, like what would be a good addition?
02:10:50
Speaker
And it's not a coaster.
02:10:52
Speaker
Well, okay, that's fair.
02:10:54
Speaker
They could use a wooden coaster.
02:10:56
Speaker
But like, I really don't think that they need a coaster.
02:10:58
Speaker
I think another indoor, like dark ride or experience could be good for them.
02:11:04
Speaker
like in terms of their next edition.
02:11:06
Speaker
But yeah, they are missing a good wooden coaster.
02:11:08
Speaker
And then like on the Alton side, I think we all said it, but like they need something elite.
02:11:13
Speaker
But I'm curious what you think that should be.
02:11:16
Speaker
I think because they already have the market for like to diversify, it should be like a launched Intamin.
02:11:25
Speaker
It has to be indoors because of their that's what I'm thinking.
02:11:29
Speaker
It can't be tall.
02:11:30
Speaker
Yeah.
02:11:32
Speaker
But I mean, you can build a Maverick-style LSM-launched coaster, and it'd be really good.
02:11:37
Speaker
Yeah, and I mean, I assume that anything in the gorge is just off-limits.
02:11:42
Speaker
They'll never put a ride that would be on.
02:11:45
Speaker
But I mean, talk about a piece of terrain that you could build an incredible coaster.
02:11:48
Speaker
Just put a stall over the whole thing.
02:11:50
Speaker
Yeah.
02:11:51
Speaker
Yeah.
02:11:55
Speaker
Alton needs a good themed log flume.
02:11:58
Speaker
Something like Chiappas.
02:12:01
Speaker
Yeah.
02:12:02
Speaker
A good one.
02:12:02
Speaker
Yeah.
02:12:03
Speaker
I think every park needs a Chiappas.
02:12:09
Speaker
All right.
02:12:12
Speaker
That about wraps it up for this episode.
02:12:15
Speaker
Went over our time just a little bit.
02:12:17
Speaker
That's all right.
02:12:19
Speaker
Any final thoughts, guys, before I shout out our socials?
02:12:24
Speaker
We apologize to TDR who will not be recording today.
02:12:29
Speaker
Oh.
02:12:30
Speaker
Took that slot away.
02:12:38
Speaker
Sorry, you're going to have to consume our content first.
02:12:43
Speaker
Shout out to all of those three parks.
02:12:45
Speaker
I feel like all of them...
02:12:47
Speaker
they did a lot.
02:12:49
Speaker
Um, whether it was Alton with the hotel and Thorpe with the Q and a and the Hyperia ERT and Blackpool with the ERT situation as well.
02:12:58
Speaker
They all, you know, they all treated us so well.
02:13:01
Speaker
So yeah, very happy for coordinating with a bunch of Americans.
02:13:06
Speaker
Yeah.
02:13:07
Speaker
They were incredible.
02:13:08
Speaker
They were so sure.
02:13:08
Speaker
We were, I'm sure we were very obnoxious at times.
02:13:11
Speaker
So putting up with us.
02:13:15
Speaker
Yep.
02:13:17
Speaker
Also, shout out to Scott for joining us.
02:13:18
Speaker
Thank you.
02:13:19
Speaker
Yeah.
02:13:20
Speaker
Thank you guys.
02:13:21
Speaker
You'll be back.
02:13:22
Speaker
Oh, you'll definitely be back.
02:13:25
Speaker
Gotta talk about HHN after our first run through there.

Speaker
Nope.
02:13:51
Speaker
I think we're good.
02:13:53

02:13:56

Stay tuned for part three.
02:14:00
Speaker
Bye.
