Travel Plans and Metaphysical Shops

00:00:48
Speaker
So, yeah, I mean, obviously when this podcast releases, I will already be in the States, but um I'm excited for you. I'm excited too. I can't wait to go shopping and eat all the food. Go to Target for me at least once. Yes. There will be many targets. Considering when I went for TDY, I literally went to three targets in one week. There will be targets. I can't wait and I can't wait to go to like ah me like an actual metaphysical shop and go shopping because I don't have that here. That's awesome. I haven't been to it yet, but I've heard it's great.
00:01:27
Speaker
Yeah, we but we've been doing like the, what are the medieval markets and all of they have a bunch of booths there. So I've gotten like so much incense and and spices and just, I see. I love that in England. They, it was so hit and miss with the metaphysical so shops and even like in places where it was like, okay, why are there no shops here? Like this is yeah like culturally super pagan place to be, what the fuck. So the metaphysical shops that they had, like sometimes they would have incense or candles and stuff like that, but it wasn't like, you know how in the States oftentimes it's like they make their own incense or they'll bless it and it's not like bulk bar off at Amazon and just show up on the shelves. And then it would just be a lot of like, I don't even know how to say this without pet sounding mean because I'm like, like what you like, but you know, like the little figurines that are like really, really like kind of tacky. Yeah. Yeah. And like bright purple and like shimmery and stuff. And it's like, okay, I love that you love it. But it's not for maybe not do
00:02:37
Speaker
90% of the store as figurines and maybe some actual shit that we can use as practitioners. So that was frustrating. but So I'm really excited.

Exploring St. Louis: Shops and Humor

00:02:49
Speaker
I just wish, because didn't sincerely the craft, they moved out of downtown Belleville. They're in St. Louis now. Yeah. So they're in St. Louis now. They have a bigger location, but St. Louis has a ton of shops too. Oh, okay. So I'm going to research that. today and start pinning and then make Mike's little sister take me to all of them because. Yeah. Girl needs to shop. Where did they move? I can't even remember the location now because it's been a long time since I went.
00:03:18
Speaker
I went like once right after they moved, but there's another one that's close to this restaurant that we used to love going to called The Crow's Desk. And it's kind of like an older one. It's not like as nice as some time in the craft. And then Forest and Meadow, which I absolutely adore that store. they like They're an herbal shop, but they're she's also witchy and they teach witchy classes. And she has like some witchy products in the shop too. Would you see that one most of the time? The crows. The crow's nest. The crow's nest. It's a restaurant. It's like a brunch place that we used to go to. And the there's a metaphysical shop like right across from it, like kind of catty corner.
00:04:07
Speaker
it's by Were you still there for the GGB that we did at the top house where like they gave you a wristband that had like a little scanner on it and you would get like you would scan it for the amount of beer that you poured yourself? Yes. I think because Anthony took us, right? and dropp yeah Yeah. I was there for that. so It's right across the street from that. Okay. Okay. Yeah. I want to go yeah to all of the places and buy all the things. I'm really excited because here, so they don't have metaphysical shops here. They do have a lot of they use a lot of incense in Japan and like Buddhist culture and stuff like that too, but it's just not the same. like yeah We buy incense and stuff, but it's like there's nothing really else that
00:04:56
Speaker
Yeah, they have that I can really use. So I need to check out the one that's over in K town that everybody talks about. I've heard it's really good and that they have like a ton of like handmade incense and stuff. So See, I love it. I can't wait. I bought a ton from the medieval market because there's a lady, I forget, it's called like Hexen something, but her little booth, she has the prettiest like loose incense. And I bought a bunch. Oh, that's awesome. Yeah. I'm so excited. I can't wait.

Personal Stories: Haircuts and Music

00:05:31
Speaker
And just, I don't, I'm just, I'm excited to go back for the food and the metaphysical shops and just shopping in general. And then.
00:05:38
Speaker
I messaged Jacqueline and she's back from maternity leave. And she's like, oh my God, I can't wait. So she's going to cut my hair. And I can't wait. I didn't even realize that she was pregnant. And I saw it because I follow Refinery on Instagram once she moved over there. And they were like, she's back from maternity leave. And I was like, she had a baby? Right. Yeah. Yeah. So I'm just like, oh my gosh. Yeah. yeah i I cannot wait. I was like, because I wanted to message her whenever we first were like, Yeah, we're coming back to the States, but we didn't know the dates. And I saw that she had just gone to maternity leave. And I was like, no, because she'll probably be on maternity leave while we're there. And then I saw the post and they tagged her in it. And so I messaged her and I was like, oh my God, and congratulations also. me there And she's like,
00:06:28
Speaker
yeah' got my hair and she's just like I'm so excited to see you again. So I'm just like, I cannot wait to have, she literally, she's the best haircut, the best haircut I've ever gotten. It has been. yeah So yeah. Refineries prices are high though. Yeah, they are. and when i went I was shocked when I got my final bill. I was like, oh God, okay. yes yeah I mean, you're worth it. ha lot yeah She's definitely worth it, but I was shooken. Oh my God. I told Mike too, I said, it's probably going to be pricey. I don't care. I have not had my haircut from her since 2019 and she's my favorite hairstylist, so I'm getting my hair cut.
00:07:09
Speaker
just so you know, and getting it dyed. And then hopefully by then when I come back, I can because I think I'm going to try a different salon when I come back and just be like like this, that's exact just this justice. Yeah, like just go in and trim what is already there. Because yeah, I just It's hard finding. It's so hard. Especially when there's a language barrier and I'm just like, no. so Eventually. but yeah And you've got a concert this Friday. I do. I do. I'm so excited to go see I Sign Kills and listen to metal, horror, music, and
00:07:50
Speaker
just rock out. They do like a whole production for their shows. That's cool. And I'm still a little salty because Anthony didn't buy me the VIP get choked photo op option. He said we have choking at home. Yeah, I he did we are choking at home but i was like rude.
00:08:14
Speaker
He would say that. Of course he would. I was like, but Spencer will choke me in a photo. He was like, yeah. No. That is what I'm here for. Thank you. I told my brother that and he was like, in a props. I was like, well. Too bad. I'm not taking it back. Yeah. I added them. So I've been listening to them on my Spotify. I love them. I added them to my playlist that I'm listening to right now. And so like,
00:08:46
Speaker
whatever Mike and I have been, cause I drag him with me when I go and do like running and stuff. And I like force him to listen to it and he's just like, what is this? And I'm like, you're going to learn to love it. So he's going to be like, stop listening to Tiffany's influences. I can't help it. Yeah. So. Anyway, yeah, but they're great. I can't wait. It's yeah me and's so much fun. It will be fun. You're gonna have the best time and take all the cool pictures and just yeah, it's gonna be cool.
00:09:18
Speaker
And it's at like a tiny little venue that's like 45 minutes from us, I think. Like super close. Like, uh, can't wait. It's gonna be amazing. Yeah, and it's gonna be

Deep Dive into Leo Season

00:09:30
Speaker
awesome. Yeah, so I guess we should probably get into the episode though. Yeah, because we're not talking about traveling. We're not. Or I sign kills. Yeah. We're talking about Leo season. Yay. Yay. Which you have a... Can we call it a love hate? um More so hate, hate. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know. My brother's Leo. He's hilarious. So. I feel like you just need to get out there and meet more Leos. That's what I need to know. Yeah. Because, you know, one bad experience with one zodiac sign should not taint how you feel about all zodiac signs or all people from that zodiac sign, I should say. So that is my goal. I'm going to meet more. Actually, no, I have a really awesome Leo in my life.
00:10:18
Speaker
that is a family member that I completely forgot about. So yeah, we're not going to let this other Leo that I won't taint anything with Leo season. Yeah. so i guess so To start us off, obviously we have to start with a cut. This is the final one. I did not have to pay for this, but I did have to log in on another Google account. Wow. I know. They're so stingy with these articles. So, they write, after all of Cancer Season's intimacy, vulnerability, and deep feelings, you might start getting sick of sentiment. You need a break from reflecting on the mysteries of your inner world, and everybody's constant expressions of tender emotions have started wearing on you. Just in time, Leo Season arrives to bring some sunshine and self-assurance back into your life.
00:11:08
Speaker
So, not harsh on cancer. They did try to knock them down a little bit. Just a little bit. which they The last few, they've been so nice. Yeah, they have. I mean, I'm still salty about that Capricorn one. That one was funny though. That one was so rude. It was rude. It was really rude. I was like, wow.
00:11:33
Speaker
ah So Leo season's dates are July 23rd through August 22nd. Their ruling planet is the sun, and the sun denotes ego, energy, and royalty, meaning that you will likely feel very adamant in what you think is right, and this will reflect in your own actions. Their preface is work hard, enjoy harder, and the mood is carefree, leaving most feeling extremely confident. And if you guys hear that in the background, Woodhouse, my little Roomba, is cleaning my floors apparently, so he was
00:12:08
Speaker
I don't know if you could hear, I'm like dumping the stuff. It was like, gee. I was a saw or something. I was like, okay, so this is very late at night. No, our first time here, like way back, our first place that we lived in, this old man, we lived in a townhouse and he was attached to us. And he would be using power tools at like 2 AM. m How am I gonna die? I was like, what the hell are you doing, sir? This is quiet hours. You cannot do that. Yeah, so this was not a saw. This was my room by a woodhouse. And you probably will also hear my dogs, because I've been kind of gone all day, and they're very mad that they're locked out of this room right now. So we've got occasional pitter-patters and loud sniffing under the door. I'm not surprised we haven't heard any deep sighing of like, are you fucking kidding me? God damn it. but Yeah.
00:13:04
Speaker
But yeah, so and and for me, my dog is chilling on the couch, so we'll see. He's not being a joy right now. We'll see how it goes. No, he's not being a joy. So as far as more background with Leo season, the body part that they're associated with is the heart. The symbol is the lion. The house associated with Leo season is the fifth house, and I'll get into that a little bit more as we go. Actually, no, I'll just do it now and we're going to whatever because I have it in two places. Um,
00:13:37
Speaker
yeah, what the fuck? The house associated with Leo season is the fifth house. And that it is associated with children, good fortune and creativity. The colors are gold and purple. The mode and the element are fixed in fire. Thick signs are associated with the energy of endurance and stability. And being that it is also a fire sign, Leo's tendency toward leadership, performance, self-promotion, and courage all are all said to be kindled by the fire element, which I thought was kind of interesting. The mantra is, I will. Leos are masculine or yang energy. And the tarot card associated with Leo is strength. And so to kind of
00:14:18
Speaker
move a little bit into the lore and mythology and a little bit more symbolism associated with Leo season. As we mentioned, the zodiac symbol is a lion um named after the constellation that ancient astrologers associated it with. The symbol of the lion goes back to ancient Greek mythology and was associated with the lion that Heracles defeated in battle. And since then, the symbol of the Leo is associated with pride, victory, and courage. The constellation of Leo contains many bright stars and one of them is Regulus, which means little king. And in Latin, the word Leo literally means lion, which is where we got the name for this zodiac sign. When it is Leo season in the Northern hemisphere, this is really at the middle and the height of summer. This is the time when the sun is at its most potent strength and the Leo archetype is said to radiate proud solar confidence and courage that is often linked with celebrating the fruits of summer.
00:15:13
Speaker
The Sun, as I mentioned, is the planetary ruler of Leo, but the Sun being the center of our solar system gives Leos the tendency to be the center of life within their families and their communities. The Sun in Leo is often found in the charts of those who are courageous, dramatic, and often artistic people who love the limelight. The Sun is also connected to our ego, and many people who are born under Leo have a reputation for a strong and well-developed sense of self. So going into their characteristics, Leos are thought to be passionate, creative, and fun, and they thrive on attention and being in the spotlight, thriving when all eyes are on them. Being the center of attention was noted to be a Leo's number one addiction.
00:15:57
Speaker
Leos are the life of the party and are often thought to be gregarious and while most enjoy their time spent with a Leo, sometimes them to be loud and aggressive as well as offensive. Leos are known to be fiercely protective and loyal and they are considered to be a force to reckon with when they're challenged. Also, Leos are often oriented to be assertive and being dedicated to projects. They are often thought of as the performers of the Zodiac and want to always put themselves in the middle of any dynamic that they are in. I can see that. they do some of this it makes me laugh yeah So some of their positive traits are that they're kind and helpful, optimistic, straightforward, loyal, they're natural leaders, and they tend to be popular. Yeah, and they another primary strength of them is that they have a lot of food confidence and courage, as you know, I think we've already mentioned, and they're usually described as happy and enthusiastic. And they tend to have a great sense of pride and are the type of people of like, I guess, friend
00:17:06
Speaker
to need praise and adoration. And if given enough, they will be your friend for life. So I guess like they you just need to stoke that fire in order to have them grow. And because they are so confident and courageous, they often encourage self-confidence and courageousness in their friends and loved ones as well. So they can be really good hype men. They have a tendency to be very generous with others when it comes to gifts and experiences. And because leadership is a natural strength of a Leo, Unless they have a lot of earth placements, their leadership style is more about keeping everyone on track to the message and the purpose and motivating people and like kind of this like very, not vague, but like, you know, we're just going to keep in touch with the message and like this like not tangible sense of leadership yeah as opposed to like getting into the nitty gritty of leadership, which you would see more often with like Capricorns or like Taurus's. So.
00:18:04
Speaker
Anyway, that is the positives. Moving on to the negatives, the ones that everyone loves.

Leo Traits: The Good and the Bad

00:18:14
Speaker
um So their negative traits are that they can be dogmatic, prideful, arrogant, dominating, lazy, jealous, and competitive. sure can be can oh being that they are a fixed sign, they can become too fixed, quote unquote on their opinions and principles and defend them proudly even after they've been proven wrong. And to a point where they might not even fully believe in them anymore, but it's because they were already on that fucking hill. They're going to die on it. um And because of their pride, as you just mentioned, they will also find it difficult to admit when they've been wrong.
00:18:58
Speaker
and their hunger for the limelight can often make them very ruthless and self-serving. Leos should engage in active listening more often so they can consider others' points of view and not forget those that help them in their achievements along the way. And I was reading that at the core of a Leo. They can often be very vulnerable and insecure, which might be difficult to see on the surface because of the amount of confidence they project. They may become too overdependent on compliments and require assurance from friends and family that you might end up becoming exhausting for the friends and family. One of the biggest downfalls of Leo is their vanity and their jealousy.
00:19:37
Speaker
They need to have constant assurance and attention from their lovers, and they can become deeply jealous and competitive of anyone who tries to share affections of someone they care about. And I was reading that this can even include children, like Leo parents can become very jealous of their children, which is kind of gross, but if you are a Leo and you're experiencing those feelings, like just go and talk to somebody about it, maybe, I don't know. Maybe i reflect a little bit. Yeah, work on your shadow side and see a therapist. They also need to remember that everyone should be allowed the chance to shine because there's room in the spotlight for everyone. Are you sure?
00:20:24
Speaker
In life, Leos often take charge as they see themselves as the leader of the pack, which is in line with the lion being their symbol. They're thought to see the world as their kingdom and they were meant to rule. Leos are extremely confident in life and challenges never threaten them. They excel as leaders in teamwork environments and they will go out of their way to help others. I love leos are known to be very egotistic but if they're able to keep their ego in check they're said to be warm and considerate partners.
00:20:55
Speaker
Leos are loyal and crave someone to be by their side no matter what and they're known to have a big heart. In terms of their negative side in relationships, they're known to be dominating and have the need to be the boss in all situations. And these traits can make it difficult for a Leo to find someone who can both like tolerate and keep up with those demands. Yeah, no, I couldn't. I literally would lose my shit. Yeah, don't tell me what to do. yeah If you tell me what to do, now I don't want to. Literally. That's how I am too. Even if I was going to do it. like if I'm not going.
00:21:31
Speaker
You get a drink of water and you told me to get a drink of water. Guess what? I'm not drinking forever. Water. Never again. Dehydrated for life. Yes. And so looking closer at their relationships with the other signs, Leos in general do best with fire signs and air signs and might need to work harder for relationships with earth and water signs. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. For fire signs, They will find great affinity for other fire signs as they can understand each other's impulsive and spontaneous nature, but two Leos have the potential to be a great match. However, drama could arise if they don't understand how to share the stage with their partner.
00:22:18
Speaker
For air signs, naturally they're very complimentary to a Leo as air feeds fire. Gemini and Libra's ah bring a playfulness, sociability, and curiosity to a Leo, and Aquarius's would bring discernment, thoughtfulness, and objectivity to a Leo, and they could have an opposites attract kind of situation happen, but their attraction seems to be very polar, like so it's either they love them or they hate them, like there's no one between. And for water signs, Water science may have the biggest challenge in relating to a Leo, even though their vulnerability and emotional intelligence is much needed for a Leo. Cancer will be ah like a good sign for like caring for a Leo, which a Leo will love, but like it it's probably going to be a situation of like because the cancer is like very empathetic and loving and caring and
00:23:11
Speaker
Like if they see these like negative traits in the Leo, it's probably just not gonna end well. um For Pisces, Pisces can match the creativity of a Leo, but they may be too sensitive and private for a Leo. And Scorpio can bring sexual potency in a relationship with a Leo, but the Leo might be too jealous for a Scorpio, and the Scorpio will be too possessive to really make a good match, and this could be a volatile pairing. And for Earth signs, they can potentially stabilize a Leo, which is good news there. Capricorn can always stand their ground in the face of a Leo, which would be much needed. And Taurus is just as stubborn and unwilling to compromise as a Leo can be, so this would not be a good match, even though they both love life's pleasures and beauty. And Virgos may be too focused on doing things perfectly to really appreciate Leo and their need for the limelight, but a Virgo can be a great
00:24:07
Speaker
person to collaborate with a Leo on bold ideas and plans.

Embracing Leo Energy and Conclusion

00:24:12
Speaker
Hmm. In careers, Leos need to be in a profession that allows them to express themselves in a way that showcases their talents, their artistic, honest, and creative, but can become restless. They're known to be able to take up any task and execute it to perfection. So careers that are well suited to a Leo include careers in the military, dentistry, um as a chemist, and even a doctor. Leos also do well in jobs related to power and authority, and they would thrive in positions as diplomats, politicians, ministers, investment bankers, drama directors, motivational trainers,
00:24:52
Speaker
and basically any career where they can champion people or a cause. I thought it was so funny that you mentioned like politicians and ministers and then also drama because literally. I know was rihanna and laughing like, look at this perfection. So how do we harness the energy of Leo season? Simply put, live your best life and enjoy the weird side of your personality. Embrace the weird and crazy and make the best memories. Helen Carefoot of Well Plus Good described the mood of Leo's season to be the zodiac equivalent of a dopamine hit. So spend the season being both authentic and raw while also finding your inner happiness.
00:25:36
Speaker
This season's all about self-evaluation and learning, but doing so creatively. Leo season is also filled with childlike enthusiasm and happiness, so enjoy the little things in life, do what you love, and express yourself. This is also a great season to explore, expand, and maintain healthy relationships, as well as a time for better social interactions and connectedness. The season will leave you attached to the little moments that really matter, and it's also the perfect season to celebrate life. This season is great for all fire signs, so Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius, giving them the freedom to really be themselves and have fun. For Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius, this season will feel natural and good.
00:26:21
Speaker
And for earth signs like Virgo, Taurus, and Capricorn, they'll find Leo season to be the hardest as they're thought to not like the like life of the party aura that Leo season brings with it. And it will likely leave them feeling moody, but it's said that this season can be a transformative time for the earth signs too. And I realized that I left out the water signs, so my bad. missing one. They're too busy crying. Just kidding. It's not because I don't love you guys. I just have, ah we've been crazy busy. and now My bad guys. And then to end this episode, like we have every other Zodiac season episode, here's some famous Leos.
00:27:09
Speaker
So we have Barack Obama, Coco Chanel, Jennifer Lawrence, Orville Wright, Jason Statham, Stanley Kubrick, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez, Shawn Mendes, Halle Berry, Cara Delevingne, Usain Bolt, Dua Lipa, Neil Armstrong, Meghan Markle, Daniel Radcliffe, Jason Momoa, Vivica Fox, Andrew Garfield, Mick Jagger, Amelia Earhart, Charlize Theron, Erwin Schrödinger, Madonna, Whitney Houston, Chris Hemsworth, Beatrix Potter, Matthew Perry, Sandra Bullock, Helen Mirren, Hulk Hogan, Lucille Ball, Kylie Jenner, Joe Jonas, Maya Rudolph, Elizabeth Moss, Alfred Hitchcock, Jackie Kennedy, Louis Armstrong, Monica Lewinsky, and Andy Warhol. Wow. A lot of famous people. Yeah. Yeah.
00:28:07
Speaker
It's interesting. I didn't see any serial killers on the list. yeah That was, that was just one episode. but They probably like can't even become a serial killer because the, they would just get caught because they want to tell everybody. Yeah. I think I can kill someone. Well, no, she doesn't even like the party that everyone would notice. but Yeah, exactly. ah So yeah. But that's it. That's Leopold. And that concludes our Zodiac episodes. So if you're not a Leo and you haven't listened to our previous episodes, make sure you go back and find yours and listen to it. But also listen to all of them because we tell you how to use the energy of the seasons.
