Life Updates and Social Events
00:00:47
Speaker
oh my god don't do that i know i'm sorry i'm just gonna start it and now it's because it's so late there you're gonna keep doing it know i think i can't even do that can't even wait
00:01:03
Speaker
When I came in here, he goes, tell your friend your stupid podcast is ruining my TV time. It's like, I'm not supposed to watch a reality TV if you guys are in a podcast.
00:01:16
Speaker
Right. You're just going have to suck it up, okay?
00:01:23
Speaker
Oh, geez. That's funny. We are going, hopefully, I'm so over these stupid keezers that he's building. as long as he can get those done in the morning, we're going to a ah food street food festival. Ooh, that's nice. soldter And that's supposed to be really good.
00:01:45
Speaker
oh yeah. You'll have to take pictures and tell me all about it because that sounds amazing. and then Sunday, i have a brunch with um the bookstore. like We do like a quarterly brunch Yeah. we get together and like it's just our work meeting kind of thing like we talk about stuff at the bookstore and just kind of like relax and hang out and then after that gina wants to do like a game night at her house so we're supposed to go to that and i feel bad because like
00:02:17
Speaker
the first one we were out of town And the last one, i wasn't sure if I was getting sick or if it was allergies. And so I just told her, I was like, I don't want to, like, if it is, like, I'm getting sick, I don't want to get anyone else sick. And she was like, no, I'm not sure that.
00:02:31
Speaker
So I didn't go to that one. And now she, like, scheduled this one. And I was like, we have to go. The worst weekend ever. Yeah. Like, we're having, like, 900 things. And
Work Experiences: Bookstore vs. Dental Clinic
00:02:40
Speaker
then I'm opening and I'm working full days at the fucking dental clinic, Monday and Tuesday. That's awful. Yeah.
00:02:48
Speaker
Yeah. And I told her, I was like, hey what is the timeframe for game night? Because I'm working at the clinic Monday and Tuesday. and i will probably leave early because I have to open.
00:02:59
Speaker
and And also have to like mentally prepare to be in that place for a full fucking day. Two days in a Yeah. and it's just like, it's such a different vibe. Like at the bookstore now,
00:03:13
Speaker
You know how it was before with fucking Mallory. She like who must not be named. Yeah, literally. We have too many of those in our lives. We really do.
00:03:24
Speaker
It's just such a different environment there. It's what I wanted it to be when I first started there the first time. Right. It's so nice. Oh, I'm glad.
00:03:35
Speaker
Like, after everything that happened, I'm glad that you're back and that it's the way it's supposed to be as opposed to, cause that's what it was supposed to be when you first got there was your cute little bookstore job. Cause you don't have to work. Like it's just like extra and you're doing it for fun. And yeah because, you know, like you love books and you love the bookstore and you love the owner and like, yeah that's how it was supposed to be.
Exploring Solitary Magic
00:04:00
Speaker
yeah we're not talking about whatever we've been talking about bookstores jobs toxic people yeah which you didn't know what else you discussed yeah and part of this will probably be like for the listeners are we like wait a second you talked about x y and z i don't remember that well i don't remember those things some of it had to be cut sorry yeah you don't need 13 minutes of us talking about nothing Right. Yeah.
00:04:24
Speaker
We do it in a couple minutes. It's just like a teaser, right? So no, we're not. We are not talking about that. What we talking about today? We're talking about solitary magic. I am so excited for this episode. And we kind of like messaged about this before you went to bed and I went about my day. This was such a fun episode because...
00:04:45
Speaker
I'm going to be honest, I didn't research this one because this all came from like stuff that I do or like my own personal experiences, like learning and working through this. And like, like nothing is from the Internet. I didn't have to go on the Internet and find things. It was just nice to be like, this is.
00:05:06
Speaker
knowledge from my brain. You're welcome. Right. Yeah. I did. There's a couple of references in our show notes, but yeah, essentially it this was so nice because it was just like sitting down at the computer and just typing.
00:05:20
Speaker
Yeah. was so nice. I absolutely love this. I'm so excited for it. Yeah, we do. To start us off, I want to give a quick note before we like really dive in to just say that like this episode itself isn't meant to like dismiss or downplay the value of group practice or covens.
00:05:41
Speaker
In fact, like Many of the things that we're going to talk about could absolutely apply to coven work as well. But the reality is like not everyone has access to a coven or knows other practitioners that like live near them.
00:05:55
Speaker
So for many like Solitary practice isn't just a preference. It's the only real option. And the goal of this episode isn't to say that like one path is better than the other, but to help you like explore what kind of practice feels right for you.
00:06:13
Speaker
Because at the end of the day, like your path should be personal and meaningful to you. And, you know, it might come as a surprise, but solitary magic or solitary witchcraft simply means practicing on your own, like without being part of a coven or a group.
00:06:30
Speaker
And there are plenty of reasons why someone might choose this path. And we'll get into like a few of those shortly. But at its core, solitary magic is just that singular, personal and practiced independently.
00:06:44
Speaker
Absolutely. It means that you're self-sufficient and self-initiated, and it can be an incredibly powerful form of practice because it allows you to have a deeply personal connection with, for instance, like the deities that you work with.
00:06:59
Speaker
Being a solitary practitioner means that you are the person responsible for deciding who the deities are you're working with and what magic is to you at its core. And it allows for you to engage in self-discovery and self-critique and It really helps you to discover what you believe in and how you are going to practice.
00:07:19
Speaker
Yeah. And being a solitary witch means relying solely on your own intuition and leaning into your own personal preferences to guide your practice. And while that might sound overwhelming at first, it actually gives you the freedom to really like fully personalize your craft, shaping it in a way that feels authentic and deeply meaningful to you, which I think is really nice.
00:07:43
Speaker
It is. Yeah. Like having people is great too, right? But like right being able to just be like, this is what I want to do. This is what feels right. This is what I like. Like, I feel like that's just nice.
00:07:55
Speaker
It is. And I feel like there's so much magic in that and power in that. And there are many reasons why – ah There are many reasons why someone would choose solitary practice, and there are many who are better suited for solitary practice.
00:08:10
Speaker
And there are many different reasons as to why, and it doesn't matter essentially what the reason is because every reason is valid. But for some,
Reasons for Choosing Solitary Practice
00:08:18
Speaker
like Tiffany mentioned, it might just be easier to practice on your own. And that's what it is like for me specifically. it's just easier for me to just practice on my own.
00:08:28
Speaker
um And it might be difficult to find others to practice with, especially if you are, for instance, in a geographically separated area, or maybe you live someplace where you may feel you may face negative backlash or scrutiny for practicing openly, or like if you were trying to find others to practice with.
00:08:46
Speaker
And that could be consideration, especially if you are from the South, because I know in Oklahoma, For instance, it can be difficult to find other people unless you are already ingrained in particular group.
00:08:59
Speaker
It can be difficult to find other people to practice with. And there may not even be any covens or groups to practice with in your area. And that could be a situation, especially if you're in a geographically isolated area.
00:09:11
Speaker
um But maybe, you know, you might be dealing with work, school, or family obligations that make practicing with a group not really feasible because at the end of the day too, when we're talking about practice and we're talking about our own personal practice, if you don't set the time aside to actually engage in the work, it's just going to feel like a chore. So if you're already super busy and you already are giving so much of your energy out in other aspects of your life, adding another one on with a group practice or a coven work might not be Yeah.
00:09:45
Speaker
Yeah. I also wanted to mention like empowerment through autonomy. So many who choose to practice alone are drawn to like the freedom that it offers and solitary practice allows you to shape your craft on your own terms without outside influence and And you can explore different paths. You can experiment with various styles of witchcraft and adapt your practice as like your needs and preferences evolve.
00:10:14
Speaker
It's an empowering way to connect with your intuition, make your own decisions and prioritize personal growth and self-discovery along the way. It allows you to create space for introspection and self-connection.
00:10:28
Speaker
ah fantastic thing about solitary practice is the space that it creates for that deep reflection. So it gives you the time to sit with your thoughts and your feelings and your experiences, and it helps you to gain a clearer understanding of yourself and your spiritual path.
00:10:45
Speaker
It allows you to tune into your inner voice and connect more deeply with the energies around you. Through introspection, you can uncover insights that guide your magical workings and help you grow, not just as a practitioner, but as a person.
00:11:00
Speaker
Also, practicing solo means that you really have to rely on your own intuition within your practice. Without others to consult, you're relying on your instincts to shape your path and guide your practice.
00:11:14
Speaker
On the podcast, we've talked about ways to strengthen that connection So things like meditation, grounding, and developing your psychic senses, the more like in tune you become with your intuition, the more confidently you'll be able to sense energy, recognize signs and patterns, and make empowered decisions on your, like within your magical work.
00:11:35
Speaker
And just like an important reminder, Even if you choose to practice on your own instead of joining a group or a coven, that doesn't mean that you're like truly alone.
00:11:47
Speaker
We're lucky enough to live in a time where connection and community are more accessible than ever, whether it's through podcasts like this one, um online forums, social media groups, YouTube or TikTok.
00:12:01
Speaker
There are countless resources and supportive spaces out there to help guide you on your path. So while your practice may be solitary, You're never without tools, knowledge, or a community to lean on when you need to.
Solitary vs. Group Practice: Pros and Cons
00:12:16
Speaker
So to look at some pros and cons here, because obviously everyone needs a pros and cons list, right? Of course, there's going to be pros and cons to everything. And if you're trying to decide whether to practice alone or join a coven, it's important to weigh the benefits of both paths for yourself without others like swaying your decision. Witchcraft is deeply personal and as we always say, what works for one practitioner might not work for another.
00:12:44
Speaker
So let's take a look at a few of the pros and cons and hopefully like help a few of you find the path that feels right. So when we talk about pros, one of them could be not having to rely on other schedules to practice and having flexibility in your practice.
00:12:59
Speaker
The reality is scheduling conflicts happen. It's not always easy to coordinate group group rituals or meetings, um even just like fucking life, right? Like you want to hang with your friends. How hard is it to like get together with just like one other person?
00:13:14
Speaker
Could you imagine doing that with a whole group? Like... Yeah. so as a solitary practitioner, you have the freedom to practice whenever it suits you.
00:13:25
Speaker
You can follow your own rhythm without needing to like work around anyone else's schedule. Yeah. And we've already touched on this a little bit already, but going back to that deep personal connection and and to tie into um that pro as well, I've already mentioned this already, but practicing solo allows you to develop a stronger connection with the deities that you work with.
00:13:46
Speaker
But it's not just that. um Working as a solitary practitioner allows you to develop a practice that is more meaningful to you and more unique than if you were working in a group. So like let's be honest here. While a lot of people are great on teams and working as a group,
00:14:01
Speaker
A lot of us just are not, and that's okay. And if you're an Aries like me, sometimes it's hard for me to remain as engaged and committed to something if I don't already have a vested interest in it.
00:14:12
Speaker
So even if that's like, you know, a situation where it would be good for the overall group if I participated in a specific thing that I'm not interested in, I don't care. I mean, call me toxic if you want, I don't care. But that's just me being honest. And if you're also like me in that regard, it might make better sense to practice as solitary because it allows you that more meaningful connection.
00:14:34
Speaker
Because it allows you to develop a stronger intuition, ah stronger self-trust, and you're relying solely on yourself and your own experiences instead of that outside external validation if you are working with a group or coven.
00:14:46
Speaker
And if your energy is not invested in something, it's it's you're not giving your full 100% anyway. So it's like, I would hate to be part of a group where we're working on a ritual or something and then half of the group isn't really interested. They're just showing up. You know what I mean? like So that to me, honestly, is a big pro for solitary work.
00:15:13
Speaker
I'm not an Aries, but as a Capricorn move, let me do it. Right. which And also, now this is boring. i don't want to come today. Yeah. Also, you told me I had to be here. and Now I don't want to.
00:15:25
Speaker
Exactly. but Because you told me. Yeah. Which that's on my list later. So yeah.
00:15:33
Speaker
Solitary witchcraft gives you the freedom to practice in a way that feels right for you. You can go at your own pace, work the magic that resonates with you, and shift or adapt your practice whenever you feel called to.
00:15:45
Speaker
When you're part of a coven, everything is done as a group, which can be beautiful, but it also means that there's often less flexibility. You might find that the rituals or methods don't fully align with what you would do naturally or what makes the most sense to you personally.
00:16:01
Speaker
and then... ah another pro, which is probably not that big of a deal to some people, but It could be because group relationships and dynamics can change everything.
00:16:12
Speaker
If you are practicing solo, you don't have to worry about any group drama. There's none of it. You don't have to worry about getting along with everyone and developing meaningful relationships with different people that you may not want to actually get to know.
00:16:28
Speaker
If you're practicing as a solitary
Challenges of Solitary Practice
00:16:30
Speaker
practitioner, the only person you have to accept wholly is yourself. You don't have to worry about like joining a coven and then realizing, oh, outside of this coven, we have nothing else in common. And I'm not saying that you shouldn't get to know people from all different walks of life. That's not what I'm saying. But like it's it could be difficult to have that meaningful connection for me if I'm not willing to have a really close relationship with everybody that I'm working that closely with, especially on something so intimate and personal. Like I just, it makes it difficult. I don't understand how people can find covens because that be hard. It, I they feel like too, like I'm always just like, you always have someone where you're like, oh, they're like beliefs or they're like morals or values or they just don't align with you and like how you live or how you practice. And like right and when it's like that, it makes that dynamic weird. Like I feel I wouldn't be able to fully like be comfortable with somebody that like
00:17:39
Speaker
if If the relationship was like that, like I just I wouldn't be able to like just fully be engaged and be like willing to work. on Right. And I always feel like too, in some instances, and as a parent, I've noticed this a lot where maybe if I gel with somebody on a personal level and we get along really well, and I could tell that we'd be really good friends, we may have completely different like parenting styles.
00:18:05
Speaker
And I feel like that would be a deal breaker for me to find parenting friends. And so I'm taking like the kids away from the equation You might be in that situation in a group setting where like, say in one method or one instance, like you can gel really well with this person, but then there's like this deal breaker situation, whether be like what you're saying with different morals or values or something that really just kind of, it sucks.
00:18:35
Speaker
Yeah. why is that Like actually, no, we probably couldn't be really close and it just kind of sets the, it changes the entire dynamic, but. So moving on to some of the cons when it comes to being a solo practitioner. One of the biggest ones is there's no community rituals or Sabbaths or really celebrations.
00:18:56
Speaker
When you're a solitary practitioner, you might miss that sense of connection that you might have if you were involved in a group. And it can be difficult sometimes as a pagan because there are certain Sabbaths that we celebrate that mainstream society and religions don't.
00:19:09
Speaker
And it can be isolating sometimes to have to either take off work if you don't have a religious accommodation or just spend that time on your own doing things to celebrate the Sabbath. Not that celebrating solitary makes it any less meaningful, but it can be lonely. And like even thinking back to the most recent one, which was like the spring equinox, like it felt weird to me going to work on a day where like I would rather like be at home doing a ritual and knowing that I wouldn't be able to actually do my ritual until the weekend because my week was so busy with work and nobody understands at least at my work how important that day was to me and so I felt like I had no one to even really talk to about it because they don't really get nope
00:19:56
Speaker
And also that's why we always tell you guys to tag us in your posts on your celebrations because we like to see them. Right. Because we're lonely little witches and and we need you to share your...
00:20:09
Speaker
Share what you do with us, please. Share your stuff. Thanks. Another con could be a lack of community or like a lack of support.
00:20:20
Speaker
So while this can affect anyone, it can be especially challenging for someone who's new to witchcraft. When you're just starting out, the sheer amount of information can feel overwhelming.
00:20:31
Speaker
And if you're unsure of which path to take, it might feel daunting to even begin. Having others to offer guidance, answer questions, or simply share experiences can be incredibly helpful during those early stages.
00:20:46
Speaker
And just to revisit the idea of a lack of support, when you choose a solitary path, you're fully responsible for researching, creating rituals, building spells, educating yourself, all without that benefit of guidance from others who might have more experience than you.
00:21:05
Speaker
However, as I mentioned earlier, we're lucky to live in a time where information is abundant and accessible. Social media has made it easier than ever to connect with people from all walks of life with just a few clicks.
00:21:19
Speaker
So if you're leaning towards a solitary practice, but feel concerned about going it alone, remember that you have plenty of resources at your fingertips. Don't let the absence of a coven or a group practice pressure you into something that doesn't like really align with your needs.
00:21:34
Speaker
you have You have the tools. You just might have to work a little bit harder. Yeah. And speaking of working a little bit harder, another con that could be, I mean, you know, this might not even be a con depending on the rituals that you do,
Integrating Research and Routine in Solitary Magic
00:21:50
Speaker
you know, a big pro for coven work and group work is energy amplification. And a lot of groups and covens depend on the energy amplification that is seen in group rituals to really power a spell or a ritual. So if you are practicing solitary, you aren't going to have that same level of energy amplification. And depending on the ritual or spell you're performing, your energy can be drained or you could feel drained a lot quicker because obviously you're not having the additional energy from other from working with other people.
00:22:23
Speaker
But I've never really, i mean, there are some workings that I do where I might feel a little bit drained afterwards, but I feel like as long as you're you're doing the a good job of grounding and setting your intention, and we're going to talk about more things in practice um in the like a few minutes, maybe second minutes but twenty seconds, yeah, I haven't really experienced too much of the energy draining situation whenever I do spell work, um because I do a good job of making sure that I am grounded and in the present and I do the energy work beforehand and use the tools I have to amplify that energy.
00:23:03
Speaker
so i feel like I'm like the opposite, like I feel energized. I'm like, we're ready to take on the day. Right. Yeah. I'm just like, okay. Yeah. So yeah this is wonderful. But i've seen like, you know, I've seen in like research that we've done or like YouTube videos or TikToks where people will talk about like how drained they are after like working a spell or a ritual or whatever. And I'm just like, you're not really.
00:23:33
Speaker
So I don't know what that says about me, but yeah.
00:23:37
Speaker
So now we're moving on to end practice. If you've listened to us for any amount of time, this will come as no surprise to you, but do your research.
00:23:48
Speaker
Never pull from just a single source. Always check your sources, cross-reference, and then cross-reference again. if something piques your interest, research it. Learn all you can about it, and then start putting it into practice.
00:24:01
Speaker
Yeah, and Additionally, make sure you set aside the time to practice. And this might mean making your practice part of your daily routine. For some who enjoy practicing with a group or a coven, it's easy because you have set days where you practice. There are group obligations when it comes to ritual work. So someone may be in charge of bringing specific items, etc.
00:24:22
Speaker
And this requires you to be organized. But if you're practicing alone, you don't have some of those same obligations and it might be easier to make your practice part of a daily routine if you're trying to learn more about your chosen path or you're trying to make it more of a habit.
00:24:39
Speaker
I think it's also really important to just find what calls to you. So for me, for instance, i I'm an herbalist. A lot of my practice takes place in the garden or in the kitchen, and that's where I feel most connected. But that might not be the case for everyone, and that's totally okay.
00:24:58
Speaker
I do incorporate other elements too, so I'd say my practice is probably a little more eclectic. But herbs and kitchen magic are definitely like my foundation. The key is finding what genuinely interests you because when you do, your practice won't feel like it's a chore. It becomes something that you look forward to.
00:25:18
Speaker
It's totally normal to try different things and see what clicks or even to discover that like some practices just aren't for you. It's perfectly fine. Honestly, i think like if something sparks your curiosity at all, at least do a little bit of research because you never know what might end up resonating until you explore it.
00:25:38
Speaker
Yeah. And I think making sure that you're defining your intent as well with what you were just saying as far as like the practice that you're engaging in, but also with the magic itself that you're going to be working, like making sure you have that clear intention. It's so important for spell work.
00:25:55
Speaker
And you don't have to define yourself by any means or your magic by any means. And I think in our society, we often get tied down into forcing ourselves to have to define everything around us and everything about us, but we should be making sure that at least our energy is focused and our intention is clear before we begin practicing and creating spells. So it would be good to maybe ask yourself things like, what do I want to achieve?
00:26:20
Speaker
What emotions am I bringing into this? Are these emotions going to help or harm my intent? How will I know my spell worked? Those sort of things. Like, so having those questions already in place and having answers to those questions can really help guide your practice and guide that intent.
00:26:37
Speaker
So this particular bullet is more just a personal experience. And if you're anything like me, you'll probably resonate with this.
Personalizing Solitary Practice
00:26:45
Speaker
But you should really just go with the flow and practice when it feels right for you.
00:26:50
Speaker
So if again, if you're anything like me, trying to stick to a strict schedule for your practice, it just doesn't work. My ADHD brain is not having that because the moment I say i have to do this at 3 p.m., my brain goes, no, I won't.
00:27:07
Speaker
And now I don't even want to do that. So we're not doing it. So like if you find yourself reacting that way too, listen to your intuition, practice when you feel called to, when it feels aligned and not because it's penciled in. Like forcing it is usually going to kill the magic. It's going to make it feel like a chore and you're not going to enjoy it.
00:27:27
Speaker
So go with the flow. It's okay to do that. Magic should not feel like a chore. I feel like that's the best part of like solitary practice for me because like I literally cannot. If you tell me I have to do this right now, I'm not going to.
00:27:42
Speaker
Like it's just – it's not going to happen. Right. I don't know if that's coming through, but like I'm getting 900 text messages and it's like meh, meh, meh. I didn't hear it, but if you guys do hear it, that's what that was.
00:27:54
Speaker
my We have a group chat called The Committee and it's popping off right now. Apparently. Oh, my goodness. Yeah. Yeah. So additionally too, think it's so important as a solitary practitioner to have your own book of shadows.
00:28:10
Speaker
We've talked about this before. ah back in episode, I don't even know. It says in here episode one, but I don't even remember. I don't think that was because episode one was like history of magic. But I think what I meant to say here is back in season one. Season one.
00:28:24
Speaker
But a book of shadows doesn't need to be anything fancy. You can use whatever you have. And we've talked about this before. So whether this piece scraps of paper that you bind yourself, a notebook, or even a binder, which is what I use. I know it is not super aesthetic looking, but hey, it fucking works for me and that's all that matters.
00:28:43
Speaker
A book of shadows helps you to document your magical studies. It reminds you of the spells and rituals you've created and allows you to revisit spells or rituals that worked and maybe some that didn't work quite as intended.
00:28:55
Speaker
And this allows you to make tweaks and really strengthen the spell or ritual that you've crafted and it helps you learn and become a better practitioner. It also gives you a space to keep everything you've learned or researched organized.
00:29:08
Speaker
That way you can quickly find a specific correspondence or a spell or working that you've done before. And if you are a Supercast subscriber, You also have access to printable shadow work and groomer pages that Tiffany creates literally from scratch. So shout out to our Supercast subscribers. And um I say Tiffany, it's supposed to be both of us, but she's literally done all the work on those. You've done a couple.
00:29:31

I've done like one. But you do our newsletter, it's fine. Yeah, it's fine. It's fine. But, you know, so just with that, like, I think Having that as a place to, it can even be like a little journal for you as well, where you can document how you're feeling about your magic, how you're feeling about your practice, just have something that you're keeping all of your, you know, your thoughts and your workings in and keep it documented because that's just going to help you grow and help keep you more dedicated to your practice.
00:30:03
Speaker
It also shows like how much I love you guys because my quote unquote grimoire is like this scrap of paper that I find whenever I'm doing something that I write stuff down on and then I stick it in a book and not like a, not a binder, like a book I'm reading.
00:30:18
Speaker
Yeah. i say you all you absolutely taper yeah but And so that's And so like, you'll pull a book off of your shelf and you're like, Oh shit. yeah I actually have done that before. I have done that before. I pulled a book out, an herbal book for something and I opened it and I was like,
00:30:37
Speaker
oh, that's for that one. Yeah. I love that. It's like a surprise. Yeah, it is. It's a surprise. But you guys get beautiful grimoire pages that you can print out.
00:30:49
Speaker
Right. Yeah. You know what that reminds me of? It reminds me of like all of those like TV shows and and stuff where it talks about magic, where you have this like grimoire that like you open up to the page that you need right then.
00:31:00
Speaker
Like whenever you're revisiting a book where you've hidden a spell in or a ritual or something. It's like the universe telling you, you need to do this.
00:31:11
Speaker
You need to revisit this. I think that's really cute. That's really, that is actually like genius. I love it. Additionally, outside of creating a book of shadows, make sure you have a sacred space.
00:31:26
Speaker
When you are a solitary practitioner, it's important to have a space that is sacred for you to practice. And this is a place for you to be present for you to ground in And whenever you're practicing with a coven or with a group, sometimes that is already kind of defined. Like you go to a place where you all meet and it's that ritual space.
00:31:47
Speaker
But whenever you're practicing as a solitary practitioner, you have to create that. And so you need to decide what that means to you, what that sacred space means to you, whether that be in your home, whether that be outside. If you have access to a space that can be private and meet your needs, find someplace where you can be wholly in yourself, in your, in your ritual mindset so that you can practice and feel the energy that you need to create those workings.
00:32:16
Speaker
And then lastly, Just to revisit something that we've touched on multiple times on this episode, make sure you're trusting your intuition. Your magic is your own. If something doesn't feel right or feel like it's for you, even if it's something that you were originally drawn to, that's okay. And it's okay to adapt.
00:32:33
Speaker
It's how we learn and how we grow. Magic is a living practice. And as a solitary practitioner, you have the power to grow your magic and intuition as you see fit. There's no and There's nothing that's tying you down or forcing you into a box whenever you're a solitary practitioner. It's just you and your magic.
00:32:51
Speaker
And I think that is super fucking powerful. I love it And i feel like we both, I mean, i know you were planning on joining coven in England and it just didn't align. It didn't work out um with you guys PCSing.
00:33:09
Speaker
Because that's another thing I feel like you know We're both military spouses, and so a lot of people don't move around the way that we do, but I feel like yeah every time we meet people and get comfortable and make friends, it's like, oh, time to move to a new place.
00:33:25
Speaker
Right, yeah. Practicing with other people is just not like – a feasible thing there too. And like, not necessarily just military people, you know, there's people that have to move for jobs or people that have to move for other circumstances.
00:33:40
Speaker
And it makes it like really hard to find stuff like that. So just being able to really, accept it, I guess, and learn
Overcoming Isolation in Solitary Practice
00:33:49
Speaker
on your own. It seems daunting at first. I will say like, when I first got into this, I was like, Oh my God, i don't even know.
00:33:56
Speaker
Like, luckily I had you. I was like, help, what do I read? Right. Yeah. Cause it's like, it can be really isolating. Yeah. And it can feel super overwhelming.
00:34:07
Speaker
And if that's the case, like, and if that's where you are right now in your practice, that's okay. It's, we all feel that way at some point. And the best thing to do is just like find one thing that you want to research that way. It's not so overwhelming. Maybe make a list of all of the things you would like to research, but then just Just make it a point to research one thing and really get to know that one thing before you move on to everything else. Because here's the thing too is like oftentimes whenever I do ritual work myself, I still have to like really take the time, sit down, write out my intention, write out the correspondences I think would go best. And like, so I'm trusting my intuition first and then I'm also going and I'm researching all of those correspondences to see, okay, well-
00:34:55
Speaker
Yeah, cross-reference, see if, did I get this right? Is this the crystal I'm intending for its intended purpose, even though my intuition is like drawing me towards it? And then also looking at like different correspondences as far as herbs and stuff too, to really see like, okay, is this- Does this fit specifically what I want? Is there a better correspondence that would really work?
00:35:18
Speaker
And then also even looking at different ways to write my spells. Like I will still research that as well. And that's totally okay because not all of us are going to have, you know, decades of,
00:35:32
Speaker
ah knowledge at our fingertips from somebody who is in the field working. and And that might be something that you have if you are part of a group or part of a coven, but that's not always feasible for everyone. And that's okay.
00:35:45
Speaker
We have each other. you guys have questions? You can send them our way. We might not have the answers, but we'll try. Right. Yeah. And we can amplify your questions on social media too. Like,
