Retrograde Series Conclusion: Outer Planets

00:00:16
Speaker
So get in witches for the final part of our retrograde series, this time covering the outer planets.

Book Discussion: 'Onyx Storm'

00:00:48
Speaker
How far are you in Onyx Storm? i keep falling asleep because I've been so tired. on chapter 20. Oh, we might be on the same. Hold on. Let me see where I'm at. I'm using a hair tie.
00:00:59
Speaker
i love that. I'm on chapter 31. So. Okay. We're basically right at the same parts. Yeah. Yeah, I'm on chapter 20. I get so excited to read it and then I get in bed and I open my book and then I wake up like an hour later, like snuggling with my book on my chest.
00:01:17
Speaker
So that's how readings have been going lately. but That's kind of, I'll read like a chapter, maybe two, depending at night before I'm just too tired and I just can't. Yeah.
00:01:29
Speaker
And it's not like the book isn't exciting. Like things are happening and I i want to know. and then I'm just like, and I'm asleep. Yep. Yeah. I will say like, i don't know if it's maybe people aren't,
00:01:44
Speaker
as big of fantasy fans as we are. But whenever I started reading it the girl that I bought it from, she had already read it because she had bought like two copies and she sold me one and she was just like, well, I'm curious to know what you think about it. And then she saw me a few weeks ago and she was like, doesn't it feel like an entire book is missing in between the last book and this book? And I was just like, no. No. It literally picked up right where it ended. Yeah.
00:02:12
Speaker
And she's missing thing so many, so many things. And I'm just like, I didn't. That's ah interesting because everyone that I've talked to that doesn't like it. They're like, there's just too much world building. And I'm like, that's what fantasy is. Yeah. You're in, you're in new places.
00:02:29
Speaker
You're, you're in fantasy land. You've got a world build. Right. We're doing different things. There's different races. There's different places. Like without the world building, you would be confused as fuck.
00:02:41
Speaker
Exactly. Not everything is earth. So there has to be world building. I always think that's such a weird take. Like when people are like, oh, too much world building. And I'm like, yeah. First of all I want to be able to picture this blade of grass. Thank you. Absolutely. and I need to know exactly what this castle looks like.
00:02:58
Speaker
I need to see everything in my head. And then a few people that I feel like are not on the same page with it. Like I'm super, and we've talked about this before. Yeah. we're both super overprotective of our fantasy worlds.
00:03:13
Speaker
yeah And so i feel like some people don't appreciate it as much as we do. And so, and those people have already finished the book and I'm not, they haven't spoiled it or anything for me, but their assessment at the end of how it, of how the book ends, I'm just like, Oh no.
00:03:33
Speaker
I don't want to finish it then. Like, i'm I want to savor it because yeah what what do you mean? What do you mean? Well, and she's not going to write the next

Effects of Outer Planets in Retrograde

00:03:43
Speaker
one for a while. She said she's writing a contemporary in between. So she's taking the summer off to spend with like her family, which rightfully so. Right. She should.
00:03:52
Speaker
And then she's writing a contemporary novel because that's like kind of where she started was in contemporary romance. Yeah. So it's going to be a while before we get the next book. No. I know. I was like, maybe I should have not read all my stories.
00:04:06
Speaker
Right. Maybe I should have put that one off for a year like I did Iron Flame. Well, shit. I know. you know. You will be happy to know that Anthony has started Kingdom of Ash. love that. he, the other day, we were talking about it and he was like, you know what she is really good at doing?
00:04:26
Speaker
she is really good at making you feel emotion for the characters, not feel the character's emotion, but she makes you feel emotion for those characters. Oh my God. That's such a good assessment.
00:04:41
Speaker
Yeah. He said the other day he was sitting in the car and like listening to it. And I don't know what scene he was at, but something happens. And, yeah, he said that like at first he was just like, what the actual fuck? And like pissed.
00:04:56
Speaker
And then he started thinking back to everything that she had been through to get to this point. And then he was like, now I'm sad. And I was like, what the fuck? Like, yeah. Yeah. was like, you're in for a doozy in this book.
00:05:09
Speaker
Yep. You are. yeah Yeah. So I can't wait till he gets to some of the more emotional scenes right now. think so. read it Right? I've been like, but because he listens to them.
00:05:24
Speaker
He listens to them like at work or you know, while he's doing shit or playing video games. So sometimes I'll like sit in and listen to like where he's at. And I'm like, oh, I want to reread these. But I'm making myself read other stuff that I have been putting off.
00:05:38
Speaker
But we're not talking about books, unfortunately. We're not. This is not a book podcast. um But you know what? Could be.
00:05:49
Speaker
Could be. Could be. Could be. It's it's not, though. What are we talking Yeah, we're on our second episode of Planetary Retrogrades. And yeah we'll see. Maybe, I mean, we were like, oh, yeah, the last episode was going to super long. And it was not that long.
00:06:08
Speaker
No. But it's still, it mean, it's like, you know, 10 pages of notes. It's packed full of information. o It's so much information that ah we thought we were like, oh my God, these episodes are going to be like an hour.
00:06:23
Speaker
yeah But we've done pretty good in the last one, like getting through the information pretty quickly. So cross our fingers that this one won't be like ridiculously long because this one's a lot of planets.

Focus on Uranus and Jupiter Retrogrades

00:06:36
Speaker
So yeah. Today we're talking about the outer planets. Yeah. So the outer planets are considered Uranus, Neptune, Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto. They're thought to have more subtle effects that are long-lasting when they're in retrograde versus what we often see as the chaos of the inner planets.
00:06:54
Speaker
In terms of outer planetary retrogrades, they're often about collective consciousness and slow transformative processes. Their impact is less noticeable in your day-to-day life, but they will often bring significant shifts over time, especially for anyone who has a strong presence of these planets in their birth charts.
00:07:15
Speaker
So kicking it off with Uranus retrograde, it takes Uranus 84 years to orbit the sun, which I was like, what? That's fucking wild.
00:07:26
Speaker
Right? Right. um And it spends approximately seven years in each of the zodiacs. In terms of Uranus retrograde, it is known as the great awakener for everyone that feels its effects.
00:07:41
Speaker
Uranus and retrograde will often shake up freedom and individuality, but with that being said, Uranus retrograde is considered to be a more gentle and tender retrograde compared to the other planets.
00:07:53
Speaker
It tends to allow us to have an open mind while it softens things and makes us more aware of what we need to do to create a better world for ourselves and for those that come after. It's a slower moving planet, obviously, with its, what did I say, 88 years?
00:08:09
Speaker
Yeah, 84, I think. 84, yeah, 80 something. Which means that we might not see its retrograde effects immediately. Uranus is more likely to show up in most of our birth charts than any of the other planetary retrogrades are, which is partially why it's believed to have a heavy effect on the a collective.
00:08:30
Speaker
In terms of having Uranus and retrograde in your birth chart, you might have strong feelings about being independent in that gaining greater independence and freedom may be a big theme throughout your entire life.
00:08:43
Speaker
You may feel like an outsider or like it's more difficult to be yourself fully, especially like earlier in your life. And you might have a strong desire to challenge the status quo.
00:08:55
Speaker
In working with Uranus retrograde, It's known for its unique rotation on its side, causing one hemisphere to be in constant light while the other remains in total darkness, which symbolizes its role as a breaker of convention.
00:09:10
Speaker
It governs societies, clubs, and groups dedicated to progressive ideals, symbolizing sudden and unexpected changes, freedom, and originality. It's associated with the sympathetic nervous system, mental disorders, breakdowns, hysteria, spasms, and cramps when associating it with the medicinal world.
00:09:32
Speaker
In society, Uranus rules radical ideas, revolutionary events, and is considered the planet that governs genius. Its correspondences are the colors blue and green, the numbers 17 and 12.
00:09:45
Speaker
The day of the week is Thursday. The elements are air and water. The zodiac is Aquarius. The house is the 11th. And this is one of the few that didn't have a normal, like a symbol that was just like, I could say a Phoenix or whatever.
00:10:02
Speaker
So the symbols for this planet are an orb with a monogram H. And this was created for the discoverer's last name, which was Herschel. And the other is a circle with an arrow pointing up from the top of the circle.
00:10:17
Speaker
And the circle has a dot in the center. And this was derived from the alchemical symbols for the planetary metals of gold and iron to create platinum. So their crystals and minerals are quartz, labradorite, blue topaz, amber, amethyst, garnet, aventurine, and diamond.
00:10:36
Speaker
The body part is the ankle and the sympathetic nervous system. Plants and herbs are clover, pokeweed, snowdrops, foxglove, valerian, clove, rosemary, tree of heaven, hellebore,
00:10:49
Speaker
Morning Glory, House Leek, Sage, Wintergreen, Carraway, Orchids, and Sweet Woodruff. So like half the plants on the on the planet, basically. um The incense is Cedarwood.
00:11:02
Speaker
Food and drink are Mangoes and Bananas. The tarot is the fool and the hermit. There wasn't a chakra that I could find, which I mean, I guess it kind of makes sense because there's nine planets and only seven chakras. So some might not have a chakra associated to them. And the themes are unexpected or occurrences, inventions, change, and eccentricity. Uranus will begin 2025 retrograde November through April 26th 2026.
00:11:30
Speaker
and it will stay there through april twenty six of twenty twenty six And just as a takeaway for Uranus retrograde, remember to move at your own pace and not let others push you into doing or taking on things that you know that you're not ready for.
00:11:45
Speaker
Embrace your most authentic self and remember that you do not have to conform to anything that doesn't feel right to you. i loved that this little planet was like, it's like gentle and nurturing and soothing. I'm like, precious.
00:11:59
Speaker
Yeah, we love that. So moving into Jupiter retrograde. In astrology, Jupiter is known as the great benefic. Jupiter brings knowledge, abundance, good fortune, joy, and luck.
00:12:12
Speaker
It also imbues kindness, compassion, generosity, temperance, perspective, and objectivity. Jupiter rules the signs of Sagittarius and Pisces and is the natural ruler of the ninth and twelfth houses.
00:12:25
Speaker
Both these houses and the signs are associated with spirituality, expanding the consciousness and the higher mind, as well as the exploration of the unknown. Jupiter can also affect karma. So Jupiter, much like Saturn, which I will discuss later, is linked to karma. And in the case of Jupiter, Jupiter transits can show us when our karma needs some tweaking.
00:12:46
Speaker
So let's talk about Jupiter in retrograde. Jupiter goes retrograde every nine months or so for approximately four months at a time. and just so you're tracking, we just got out of it retrograde in Jupiter.
00:12:59
Speaker
which started October 2024 through February 4th, 2025. So what does Jupiter retrograde mean for us? This will affect everyone in similar but different ways. And in the case of Jupiter retrograde, this can lead to a period of intense spiritual and philosophical growth on a personal level with lots of introspection.
00:13:19
Speaker
This could also manifest in questioning the laws surrounding whatever house Jupiter is retrograding in. So for this, you'll need to know where Jupiter sits in your natal chart. Jupiter retrograde makes us aware of times when we have overlooked tests in our life, and it provides us many avenues for us to grow internally.
00:13:37
Speaker
It causes us to look at how we define quote unquote fortune. So what do we do during Jupiter retrograde? What we need to make sure we do is to trust that things are happening as they should, and to put our trust in the universe.
00:13:50
Speaker
Rethink your values and look for signs from the universe. Jupiter retrograde can highlight what is blocking us from our own successes, and it allows us to look inward at our strengths, our core values, our ethics, and our spiritual beliefs.
00:14:03
Speaker
This is a time to remove blockages and embrace change. Reflect on what your strengths are and what flaws or weaknesses are holding you back. Allow unplanned events to be an invitation for practicing positivity and self-love.
00:14:17
Speaker
Be mindful of spending during this retrograde period. It's more of a time to reflect on our spending habits and make sure that we don't go overboard. During this retrograde period, take time to unwind.
00:14:28
Speaker
This is a sign to take a time out, reflect on our personal integrity, our morals, our values, and allow karma to do its job. You don't have to fight so hard. Gizmo agrees on that point.
00:14:40
Speaker
He's like, yes. Yes. And this is also a perfect time to engage in dream work and divination. So using tarot and astrology to gain

Exploring Neptune Retrograde

00:14:50
Speaker
insights on where to focus our energy.
00:14:52
Speaker
So with working with Jupiter, often witches will work with Jupiter in relation to abundance and money spells. so So anything related to your career, promotion, and wealth can all be done during this time. Additionally, spells for luck and and enhancing your own skills and talents are great to do during any significant Jupiter transit.
00:15:11
Speaker
Some correspondences, we have the element is fire. The colors are royal blue, purple, and gold. The crystals are... amethyst, citrine, obsidian, sodalite, and lapis lazuli.
00:15:26
Speaker
Herbs are frankincense, sage, bay leaf, dandelion, cinnamon, and nutmeg. The symbols are thunderbolt, an oak tree, and a wheel. Day of the week is Thursday, and it resonates with the crown chakra.
00:15:40
Speaker
Moving on to Neptune retrograde. Neptune in retrograde will help to expose illusions. So what this means is that because it is in charge of our illusions and our delusions, the planet's retrograde forces us to face reality for better or for worse.
00:16:00
Speaker
Keep in mind, though, that this planet also rules over romance and mystery. Neptune retrogrades for about five months every year, making it a pretty common planetary retrograde.
00:16:12
Speaker
During this particular planetary retrograde, our intuition may be diminished, but this forces us to look at things for how they actually are rather than how we wish they could be.
00:16:23
Speaker
The planet's retrograde is often referred to as the cosmic wake-up call, making us more aware of our emotions and of our manipulations, within our relationships.
00:16:35
Speaker
You will be more inclined to see things coming during a Neptune retrograde. We will often experience Neptune retrograde effects internally, and it's often referred to as the divine discontent.
00:16:48
Speaker
One astrologer described this phenomenon where Neptune in this instance acts like a siren singing in the night and we're the ones drawn to its song from a distance, but oftentimes Once we get close enough, we change our minds and our perception.
00:17:04
Speaker
Neptune retrogrades energy allows us to pivot without remorse or guilt because we now understand that we have a choice in matters. On the other hand, though, Neptune retrograde encourages us to explore our visions, fantasies, and ideologies, leaving us in a position to find our own way while trying to find the balance between our physical and spiritual worlds.
00:17:28
Speaker
In terms of having Neptune retrograde in your birth chart, you may have a heightened sensitivity and you might often feel overwhelmed. You can have a strong desire to create art, music, or even take on photography.
00:17:43
Speaker
You likely have the ability to channel sensitivities and emotions in your creativity. You might be overly compassionate, meaning that you're probably very giving to others and might even be able to tap into how people feel easily.
00:17:58
Speaker
And you're likely more in touch with the spirit world and can sense the unseen. To work with Neptune retrograde, this retrograde represents the subconscious mind illusions and blurred lines between reality and fantasy.
00:18:13
Speaker
When working with the energy of Neptune, it's recommended that you use colors like seafoam green or deep blue and gemstones like aquamarine or amethyst to correlate those ties to the planet and help enhance magical workings.
00:18:28
Speaker
Neptune's influence is particularly potent when working with divination, psychic abilities, and exploring the mysteries of the deep subconscious. Neptune's association with water makes it an ideal ally for rituals involving purification, emotional healing, and connecting with the spiritual depths of the oceanic universe.
00:18:49
Speaker
For correspondences, the colors are green, blue, lavender, and white. The numbers are 8 and 12. The day of the week is Thursday. The element is water.
00:19:00
Speaker
The zodiac is Pisces. The house is the 12th house. Symbols are the trident. Crystals and minerals are coral, aquamarine, platinum, neptunium, sapphire, jade, and amethyst.
00:19:15
Speaker
The body part is the feet, the thalamus, and the spinal column. The plants and herbs are any plant of the ocean, bulrush, lobelia, morning glory, night-blooming jasmine, perilla, reeds, reed canary grass, water lilies, and mosses.
00:19:33
Speaker
The incense is jasmine and lotus. Food and drink are things infused with lavender. That's basically the only thing I could find um for Neptune. But I would also think things like fish or like aquatic things like seaweed, that kind of thing. i don't know. I couldn't find really much on food or drink for Neptune.
00:19:53
Speaker
The tarot cards are the emperor and the hanged man. The chakra is the third eye chakra, and the themes are intuition, ideal idealism, sacrifice, glamour, illusion, evolution, and decay.
00:20:08
Speaker
Neptune will start its retrograde July 4th, and it will end on December 10th.

Understanding Saturn Retrograde

00:20:13
Speaker
Something to remember during Neptune's retrograde is to be kind to yourself and to others. It's important to have a way that you can let out your emotions, and you should be open to ideas that evoke passion and creativity.
00:20:27
Speaker
So moving on to Saturn retrograde, Saturn is known as the great malefic, known for its serious cold and sometimes harsh influence. It is the planet that rules karma, time, responsibility, wisdom, boundaries, authority, and limits.
00:20:43
Speaker
Saturn retrogrades happen every 12 months and can last for several months at a time, giving us a longer span of time to work with the energies of the retrogrades. And it actually spends 36% of its time in retrograde.
00:20:57
Speaker
The last Saturn retrograde from 2024 through November 15th, 2024. And next retrograde 2025 through November 27th, 2025. Saturn retrograde allows for enhanced reality checks bringing up outdated lessons.
00:21:07
Speaker
and the next saturn retrograde will take place on july twelfth twenty twenty five through november twenty seventh twenty twenty five saturn retrograde allows for enhanced reality checks and bringing up outdated lessons It's known as the Cosmic Progress Report.
00:21:23
Speaker
It asks you to slow down and reassess your long-term goals, plans, and commitments, and to reassess your personal growth. Karmic debts are sorted out during this time, and if you've been avoiding something, don't be surprised if it's brought up during this time.
00:21:36
Speaker
But it's not all negative, especially if you made efforts when Saturn was direct, and any of the things that Saturn rolls over, you may actually see positive change during the retrograde period. So what to do and not do during a Saturn retrograde.
00:21:50
Speaker
As far as do's go, you're going to want to pay off or pay down any debt that you have, reflect on previous lessons and learnings, recommit to anything you are serious about, and this could also include your diet, your exercise, and your sleep habits.
00:22:05
Speaker
Get in touch with your teachers or any guides that you've fallen out of touch with and reflect on big moments within the last year and any lessons that you've learned. As far as the don'ts go, don't try to rush things or make ill-informed investment decisions, which I mean, you shouldn't be doing that anyway, but definitely don't doing that during a Saturn retrograde.
00:22:25
Speaker
Don't flake on your commitments. Try not to make new commitments. Don't overdo the food and drinks. Don't be a couch potato, so make sure you get up and at least get some steps in.
00:22:35
Speaker
Don't buy a new watch or clock during this time. And don't ignore debt or allow it to balloon out of control. So just keep doing those things. Exactly. Yeah.
00:22:47
Speaker
So working with Saturn retrograde... One of the biggest things that you can do is a karmic review and shadow work. Reflect on any past decisions, habits, and responsibilities.
00:22:59
Speaker
And are there any patterns that you need to break? Re-evaluate your boundaries. So where are you giving too much and where do you need stronger limits with people? Also think about some career and long-term planning during this time. Redefine your professional and financial goals.
00:23:14
Speaker
Practice grounding, so connect with the earth and meditation. These things can really help you during this time as Saturn's energy can be quite heavy for some. And as far as altar ideas go, using any of the correspondences that I'm about to cover, but also using a candle with Saturn's symbol carved into it and for offerings for your altar, these can include things like coins, old keys,
00:23:38
Speaker
an hourglass, and dried herbs. So as far as correspondences go, this would include for crystals, black obsidian, onyx, smoky quartz, labradorite, and hematite.
00:23:50
Speaker
For herbs and plants, this would be mugwort, cypress, patchouli, comfrey, and thyme. For colors, this would be dark blue, black, and gray. For the day of the week associated with Saturn, this would be Saturday.
00:24:02
Speaker
The astrological signs associated with Saturn are Capricorn and Aquarius. The The number is three. The incense would be myrrh and the elements are earth and water.

Pluto Retrograde and Transformation

00:24:12
Speaker
And for our final planet that we're going to be talking about, Pluto retrograde.
00:24:18
Speaker
Pluto takes approximately 248 years two orbit this on focus but it retrogrades approximately five to six months per year.
00:24:30
Speaker
This retrograde is all about power and transformation while urging us to continue to heal from past traumas while embracing profound personal growth. Pluto in retrograde can help to bring deep inner work and transformation. This planetary retrograde allows us to shed the past by letting go of emotions that have been weighing on our shoulders.
00:24:51
Speaker
During the Pluto retrograde, It's a great time to forgive and forget, give people a second chance, or even let go of beliefs that no longer serve us, while also allowing introspection to guide us toward acknowledging our hidden desires and powers.
00:25:07
Speaker
Since Pluto is an outer and a generational planet, meaning that it stays in a sign for a really long time, Its retrograde occurs several months a year, meaning most of us probably have Pluto retrograde in our birth charts, making it extremely common.
00:25:22
Speaker
Pluto in retrograde presents us an opportunity to reassess moments from the previous year, allowing us to look back at events and manifestations in this timeline while helping us to understand situations and relationships more deeply.
00:25:38
Speaker
Old problems and issues might resurface during Pluto's retrograde, but we should run toward them so that we can work on those problems and fix situations. In terms of having Pluto and retrograde in your birth chart, you'll likely have a bigger concentration of self-transformation throughout life.
00:25:54
Speaker
You might experience periodic phases of shedding and starting over again, and you'll have a strong desire to get to the bottom of who you are. You might struggle with a need to be in full control.
00:26:06
Speaker
You likely have a keen interest in human behavior, understanding yourself, but also how other people work. You might want to incorporate a theme of psychology, deep investigation, or transformation into a career.
00:26:20
Speaker
Pluto's archetype is of primordial energy and the universal life force that impels all evolution and transformation. Pluto represents the principle of power itself, of elemental force, of primal libido and aggression, and it's essentially identical to Freud's notion of the id.
