Speaker: Woo!
Speaker: Welcome to the Holistic Way Podcast.
Speaker: I'm your host Nikki aka Dominique, founder of the Holistic Body Club, Holistic Body Coach and Yoga Teacher.
Speaker: I hope you'll join me weekly as we discuss a holistic approach, fresh perspective and non-negotiable self-compassion.
Speaker: Understanding is empowering and self-kindness is the new sexy.
Speaker: It is my mission to introduce to you
Speaker: new ways to work with your mind, body and emotions rather than against them to create long-term results with more ease and fun.
Speaker: Hello gorgeous soul, welcome to the Holistic Way podcast and for a new episode where I want to speak a little bit about EFTA tapping.
Speaker: Maybe it is something that you are familiar with, maybe it's a skill, a tool that you already possess.
Speaker: Maybe it is completely new, either way, I want to introduce a different approach to tapping and how I use it to change the game when it comes to healing my relationship with my body and with food.
Speaker: And I want to start by sharing a bit of how I came into realizing that this tool was incredible because if I'm completely honest, in the beginning I was totally totally underwhelmed by it.
Speaker: So if you know a little bit about me,
Speaker: You know that I have trained as a coach, I have trained in NLP, in hypnosis and other modalities, including tapping, EFT tapping.
Speaker: And I really didn't understand what it was all about.
Speaker: I trained in it, I am certified in it, and I thought it was a bit meh.
Speaker: I didn't really understand why some people were raving about it so much and it was kind of a tool that when I first learned about it I was like okay cool nice might use might not use with my clients
Speaker: And it's only when I started to follow Tara Brunette, she's a huge inspiration of mine, and she started to teach and use tapping with her own clients.
Speaker: I remember clearly when I did one of her tapping sessions and I was like, oh,
Speaker: I don't know, I haven't had really good results or any results from tapping, but you know, whatever, she seems to be really excited about it, she seems to have huge results with it, why not give it a try?
Speaker: And when I did give it another go for myself, I was so amazed
Speaker: at how powerful and how simple it was and I remember it was body related so it was, I was tapping on a topic that was related to my holistic body and I can't remember specifically what it was but I remember it was body related and something has shifted within me in a few minutes of doing the tapping
Speaker: It was something that I had struggled with, with a very, very long time and I couldn't get to the bottom of it.
Speaker: Even with all the tools I had about my subconscious mind, about how to access emotions and how to remove limiting beliefs, nothing had worked on that.
Speaker: But in that moment when I did this session with her,
Speaker: It was incredible.
Speaker: It shifted, like I said, within a few minutes of me tapping.
Speaker: And that's the first time I realized how, sorry for the word, fucking powerful it was and how simple it was.
Speaker: And it's also when I started to realize at the time how tapping could be applied to holistic body and relationship with body and relationship with food as well.
Speaker: So before I always thought it was just to...
Speaker: move emotions, to process your emotions and in that moment I realized how game-changing, how life-changing it was going to be.
Speaker: That's when I started to experiment with it.
Speaker: At the time I had already started
Speaker: working with clients about holistic body so helping clients find a healthy and safe and loving relationship with their body and food but i was only working with them one-to-one and that meant that i could use the tools that i had
Speaker: trained in like hypnosis like NLP and another technique called time technique and they were all amazing and I had good results but there were two key points that in my opinion were missing first of all
Speaker: These techniques only worked really well when I was working with my clients one-on-one in a session, either over Zoom or face-to-face, but it involved some kind of one-on-one with me seeing their reaction, hearing their reaction, and seeing their faces.
Speaker: So it meant that I couldn't teach it to them so they could use it for themselves.
Speaker: So it meant that they were kind of relying on me or the skills I had in these one-on-one sessions to make progress.
Speaker: And the second thing that I noticed is that the tools like hypnosis, like NLP, like coaching was all amazing and great, but I was missing...
Speaker: a key element which was involving the body because i started to realize especially when it comes to food freedom and holistic body the body had to be involved in the process
Speaker: And I think today that it is even involved in other topics.
Speaker: So if you're building financial freedom or manifesting a soulmate or whatever dreams you have, we tend to forget about the body.
Speaker: So
Speaker: We're so focused on mindset and I've talked about it before on the podcast.
Speaker: Mindset is key, is important, but we forget about a key element, which is the body.
Speaker: And with tapping, I found this amazing tool
Speaker: tool that I was looking for, even though I already had it in my toolkit, but I just didn't realize how powerful it was and I also had to, over the months and the years, adapt it to a method that worked for me.
Speaker: So this tool not only allowed my clients to be independent, to have the power to release things on their own and do the work on their own, and it was also a tool that allowed them to access
Speaker: and reprogram and release their own limiting beliefs without necessarily always needing a coach or a practitioner or someone else being involved.
Speaker: And I'm not saying that...
Speaker: there is value i definitely think there is huge value in having someone guide you through something and sometimes or even a lot of the time we need that outside perspective even i do as a mentor as a relationship with your body expert i still
Speaker: need the outside perspective of a mentor myself but I still feel that it's very important for every one of my clients and everyone on this planet to
Speaker: Be empowered and have the tools to continue and do the work on yourself.
Speaker: And I found that with EFT.
Speaker: And it is also, like I said, the tool that doesn't just work on the mind, but also includes the body.
Speaker: Before I share with you three main ways I use tapping to help me on my journey to my holistic body and food freedom, I want to say one important thing.
Speaker: Yes, I do believe tapping is a life-changing skill and that it is something that we should teach children.
Speaker: In school, I think it should be a skill that everyone has.
Speaker: Just because you use tapping, the sun won't just magically shine out of your arse, sorry for the word, all the time.
Speaker: It is going to change the game when it comes to your body, to your relationship with your body, and your relationship with food nonetheless.
Speaker: So it's a game changer when it comes to many things.
Speaker: but it's not the magic solution to everything.
Speaker: We're still humans, we still have emotions and mood swings and things happen and they're difficult, but it's definitely a skill that everyone should have on this planet and should know how to use.
Speaker: So let me give you three ways that I use EFT tapping to have a better connection with my body, but also how I used it to heal my trauma and everything that needed to be healed in my relationship with food and my body.
Speaker: And the first thing I want to mention, if you've listened to some of my previous podcasts, you may know that I really struggled with my weight, not just physically, but also the number when I stepped on the scale.
Speaker: And it used to bring so much
Speaker: many triggering emotions.
Speaker: I was scared to step on it at some point, I was scared that the number was either up or that it stayed the same and it made me feel so less than, so unworthy every time I saw this number and I was so attached to this number.
Speaker: And one of the ways I use tapping is to remove all the emotions I had attached to that number.
Speaker: And now I can... Not that I actually weigh myself anymore.
Speaker: I don't think it's relevant for me on this journey.
Speaker: Sometimes I happen to step on a scale when I go to the doctor's office, for example.
Speaker: And I have...
Speaker: zero attachment to it and if you've listened to any of my previous podcasts you know that this is a key element on the holistic body journey because we want to be neutral we want to feel good in our bodies now and it is possible regardless of the results you desire when you can accept where you are now
Speaker: that's when you can manifest the body that you desire and the body that you're proud of.
Speaker: So that's the first way I used it on my journey to my holistic body.
Speaker: The second way that I still use it to this day, but used it a lot in the past when I wasn't feeling comfortable and confident in my body, was to remove any feelings of
Speaker: this comfort of not enoughness when I felt too fat, too big, too this, too that.
Speaker: I used it in those moments to release those emotions for one, but second to
Speaker: also help me feel confident in my body now and I use it to reprogram my subconscious mind in my conscious mind actually to appreciate and be grateful for the body that I had when I started this process
Speaker: And still to this day, there's days, there's moments before my period, on my period, where I don't feel gorgeous in my body because I'm bloated, because I'm tired, because it's the time of the month.
Speaker: And I use these tools, this skill of tapping to make me feel neutral again, to release these emotions.
Speaker: So they don't mean anything about who I am, about my worth, about my journey and the goals I still have moving forward when it comes to my health.
Speaker: So that's the second way.
Speaker: The third way, and I think this is a game changer if you do struggle with cravings, even with
Speaker: binging if you have the tendency to feel out of control around food and I'm not meaning just before your period when we tend to desire more chocolates, more sweets, more snacks but
Speaker: over.
Speaker: Those times when you cannot stop yourself from reaching for the bag of chips.
Speaker: You eat the whole thing or when you go for a cookie and instead of having just one or two until you're satisfied, you just eat the whole thing.
Speaker: So these kind of cravings, when they're more led by the subconscious mind than just
Speaker: your actual need for food or pleasure to enjoy some sweets, some cookies, some whatever it is that you tend to go for in these moments.
Speaker: It has been proven and they've done studies
Speaker: And they've shown that tapping actually has a physiological effect on your cravings.
Speaker: And I do have a freebie that I'm going to link in the show notes where I offer a tapping session for you to release your cravings, whether it's for sugar, whether it's for other things.
Speaker: And it works like crazy.
Speaker: Everyone that has used it has, in a few moments, in a few minutes, following this tapping session, just completely freed themselves from the cravings.
Speaker: Now, that doesn't mean that they might not come back if there's something deeper going on with those cravings, with the binging, with overeating, but they will offer a relief.
Speaker: And the good thing about tapping is that the more and more
Speaker: that you do it on cravings, on your emotions, the less cravings you will have in the first place and the less you will feel the need to eat emotionally or to binge late at night.
Speaker: So
Speaker: If you do struggle with habits like cravings or emotional eating or binging or overeating, starting to use tapping and learn about tapping is going to change the game.
Speaker: I know if...
Speaker: you haven't tried, you need to try and even if you've tried it before and you were like me a bit, meh, try it again.
Speaker: And this is why I'm hosting a free workshop where I will teach everything I know about EFT tapping.
Speaker: more ways and there's so many more ways this tool this skill comes in handy on your journey to your holistic body to a body that you love a body that is healthy and food freedom and in this workshop I not only teach you the benefits and
Speaker: when to use it and what to use it for, but I share with you my method that I found that is the most effective.
Speaker: And it is slightly different, it is quite a bit different than the common way it is taught, because I found that the rigid way they teach it normally doesn't always work
Speaker: for my brain with ADHD so I found a way to make it even more effective.
Speaker: I teach you all my tics, all my tricks and tips and hacks on how to make it even more effective.
Speaker: So
Speaker: If that's something that resonates, I invite you to join the live workshop.
Speaker: If you listen to this before May 28th, then you can sign up and join the live workshop.
Speaker: If you listen to this afterwards, you can still sign up and you'll just receive the replay to that.
Speaker: I want to say that this is a skill that you should have, like I said many times before, this is a skill that everyone on this planet should have because it is so, so, so good, so effective, so simple, you can do it.
Speaker: anywhere honestly even if you're at work you might not want to start tapping in the middle of the office but you can just go to a room where you're by yourself to the toilet even and start tapping i use it in my car i use it when i'm walking the dogs when i'm going for a stroll whatever you can use it everywhere and it is so
Speaker: easy and I feel because it is so easy people tend to underestimate but come to the workshop and you'll see how effective it is I'll also take you through a session the way I teach it for you to really have a concrete example but also to notice I promise you will notice the difference in sensations instantly
