Solocast: Will I be voting for Trump in 2024?

S1 E31 ยท What Can We Do?

Speaker of the House Mike Johnson cast the deciding vote against requiring FISA to obtain warrants before harvesting info and spying on Americans.

Trump, the biggest victim of warrantless spying in American history, rather than rebuke Johnson for his vote, embraced him instead and allowed Johnson to hide behind his skirt the next day.

This is what drives me mad about Trump. I share my thoughts on this and the Trump phenomenon in general in this latest Solocast episode.

Criticism of 'Woke' Companies

00:00:00
Speaker
Have you noticed that the world has gone insane? For example, tell me if these headlines ring a bell for you. Bud Light makes a special commemorative can for trans girl Dylan Mulvaney. Dove hires a Black Lives Matter activist and 400 pound body positivity model to promote their products.
00:00:19
Speaker
Target sells chest binders and tuck friendly undergarments for kids. Are you sick of living in clown world yet? Are you tired of spending your money with woke companies that hate your values? As

Solo Episode Explanation

00:02:25
Speaker
welcome back to another episode of Liberty Alliance Networks. What can we do? I am your sassy, funny, smart host, Haley Heathman, back at you with another solo cast episode. I should be back in the swing of like regular interviews in the next week, coming weeks after that, just running into some snafus with scheduling, et cetera. So you get me again. But I mean, that's not the worst thing though, right?
00:02:54
Speaker
Yeah, so today we're gonna talk, I don't think I've done a deep dive into Trump.

Trump and National Security Issues

00:03:05
Speaker
We're gonna talk Trump. We talkin' Trump today, yo. Yeah, so I was really annoyed, and it's just such a perfect little microcosm of the whole Trump,
00:03:19
Speaker
phenomenon of what went on last week with this FISA vote in Congress. Of course, it's always about national security, national security, but we know that they use these agencies and these programs internally on us. This is what baffles me. I don't get it. If anybody should know about how these
00:03:50
Speaker
intelligence agencies and programs, etc., are being used internally against Americans. It should be Donald Trump. It should be Donald Trump. He was literally, his campaign was literally spied on by FISA using these FISA warrantless wiretaps, etc.
00:04:10
Speaker
Um, and yeah, this is what I just don't get. So like, you know, they had the vote, um, for it and there was a tie and speaker of the house, Mike Johnson came in and broke the tie.
00:04:28
Speaker
against requiring warrants. The Constitution couldn't be clearer about this. Get a freaking warrant, right? There's no FISA exemption to the Constitution or national security exemption to the Constitution where we don't have to require a warrant if we just invoke the magic words of national security.
00:04:53
Speaker
Yeah, that's what Speaker Mike Johnson did. He cast the deciding, and he didn't have to. Thomas Massey, he tweeted after the fact, this is how democracy dies. Just like this with Mike Johnson, they don't always have to cast the deciding vote. He could have sat it out and just let it fizzle out and end in a tie. Kamala Harris goes in there in the Senate.
00:05:18
Speaker
on the Senate side of things and she cast the deciding vote in favor of whatever the Democratic agenda is. And Mike Johnson, rather than casting a deciding vote in favor of liberty and protecting the Constitution, he cast a deciding vote in favor of the Deep State.
00:05:39
Speaker
So, you know, as if that weren't bad enough. So you could pin that on Mike Johnson. Okay, Mike Johnson, you were not all that you were cracked up to be. Maybe we should have stuck with Kevin McCarthy. I don't know. That's debatable. Neither are good. Neither is good. But what made it even worse was like, you know, he knew it was like it's like a bad dog. You know, you're a bad dog. And like, he knew he did the wrong thing. I mean, he did it willingly. It's not like he was like,
00:06:08
Speaker
He made a mistake. It's like he did it mistakenly. He knew that it was a bad vote and he was going to catch some flack for it. So what did he do? He ran down to Mar-a-Lago and hid behind Trump's skirts, you know, Big Daddy Trump. And Trump shielded him from any criticism because then what they did is they announced, you know, this new initiative, the SAVE Act, where they're going to start getting serious. Finally, you know what?
00:06:36
Speaker
Eight years later, they're finally going to start getting serious about election integrity and just, you know, five months before the election or six months before the I'm glad that finally six months before the election, they're going to start getting serious about election integrity.

Frustration with Political Figures

00:06:50
Speaker
And so, like, you know, that in and of itself is, again, problematic. But like the fact that they announced this like in an obvious ploy to deflect criticism and attention away from his vote and Trump standing there right behind him just, you know, with his
00:07:06
Speaker
you know, his little duck face going on. He's got his little scowl, you know, trying to look all serious and like totally like stand by your man type thing. So Trump, the biggest victim of spying, deep state spying in our history,
00:07:26
Speaker
And here he is propping up another deep state swamp dweller, who just cast a vote to do more of the same. Like what is, I don't get it. What is that? What is that? So this is why I like, I just don't understand. Like, I just, I, like, I want to like the man because the alternative is just so gross. I mean, because by, and they're just so awful and odious and demonic and evil.
00:07:57
Speaker
We're desperate, just like a warm turd would be better than Joe Biden. And yet Trump is just, come on, man. Why? Why? Why you got to do that? Like, you know, if he were anywhere close to like Javier Malay and frickin' Mike Johnson came groveling to him after his awful traitorous vote,
00:08:27
Speaker
Trump should have said to him, Afuera, Afuera, out. He should have kicked his ass out. I said, sorry, dude, you fucked up. You messed up. Sorry. You know, like, I'm not going to save you. You did it to yourself that you don't vote like that. He's got that power. And, you know, this is the problem with Trump, you know, it's been as criticized that he doesn't know how to wield power. He's just so obsequious to all those around him. And so like, he's got the power.
00:08:52
Speaker
To say, no, you could, you know, I mean, he could crack that whip and shape this party up so fast. And so, but the problem is, is that all his supporters, you know, they've all got all these excuses. There's always some 48 D, 64 D chess reason for why he can't take a principled stand or do the right thing or trust the plan. There's always a plan.
00:09:16
Speaker
Like, come on, it's been eight years. I ain't seen no plan yet. I'm sorry. There's been, there's no plan. Where's the plan? And unfortunately with all these sycophants and cultists and QAnon cultists, like there's, there's like, there's no falsifiability. It doesn't matter how many times whatever they say predict is going to happen doesn't happen. It's always part of the plan that it doesn't happen or something. I mean, it's just, it's like, it's ridiculous. It's, I mean, at this point, it's like,
00:09:42
Speaker
You know religious you know where this we're just operating on religious belief like QAnon is their new shaman or something because you know it's the word of god and we just have to trust that Q whoever this godlike mysterious unknowable figure is just telling us the truth and
00:10:02
Speaker
There's a plan in the background that's going to save us, you know? Um, and, and so I, I don't know. And that's why it's just like, I, I, I'm torn. I'm torn on this whole Trump thing because like, look, Biden is evil in it. I mean, and I mean that I'm not, that is not hyperbolic, like his daughter in her diary, which we have now verified because the person who sold her diary now has to spend a month in jail because the only people that, um,
00:10:33
Speaker
get jail time in this country or those, the innocence or those trying to tell the truth. The real evil people, they can get away with whatever they want. So the only person who's getting jail in this whole affair is the woman who sold the diary. And it has been verified as authentic, not that I ever doubted, but
00:10:58
Speaker
Yeah and in that diary ashley biden joe biden's daughter literally admits showering with her dad at the age of fourteen and her dad and appropriately touching her the man is a literal. Honest to god pedophile. And yeah and he's he's the head of state in the office so i don't think you can get any worse than him. But trump.
00:11:28
Speaker
He's maybe, well, I don't know. And this is, I just, I just get, I, he's all over the place and I would like to say he's not as morally reprehensible. And again, he's not cause I don't think Trump is any sort of a pedophile, but obviously he's a known philanderer as well. I mean, he's had how many wives he cheated on his wife with porn stars, et cetera.
00:11:50
Speaker
So like he ain't no angel. And beyond that, like, I don't know. I mean, and then on the other side, he does a lot of good things. I mean, I acknowledge that. And that's why it's like, I'm so torn. It's like, come on, can't, why can't?
00:12:06
Speaker
somebody who's just unambiguously good ever make it to the top and I think that's why a lot of us were rooting for DeSantis because like he seems as far as I know he's clean you know like I don't think he's been having affairs he's got a record a track record of success he's been a like the most effective governor
00:12:27
Speaker
in recent history in the United States in terms of passing bold legislation, you know, like anti-left winning wars, winning battles, you know, inching the ball. And not just on the political landscape, but on the cultural war front too, you know, like Disney finally had to back down.
00:12:47
Speaker
And yet, when you put him up against Trump, it's like, I don't know. I mean, people are just enamored with Trump and I don't get it. And that's that goes back to that whole QAnon cult thing, where not only do they have this like enigmatic cue something or other, but also along with that, they've they've sort of painted Trump as some like messianic figure where like they do a lot of
00:13:15
Speaker
juxtaposition of Trump and Jesus, you know, for some reason. So they've like ascribed some sort of religious or spiritual meaning to Trump. And again, that's why you can't like break through to these people because it's like, I don't know, when they've basically painted Trump as all but the second coming of Jesus Christ, like,
00:13:41
Speaker
Nobody else is going to stand a chance. It doesn't matter how good DeSantis is track record is or whatever when they think Jesus Trump is Jesus Christ incarnate. So, you know, I mean, Hey, we, we, we get the vote. We get the government we, we deserve, and I guess that's what we deserve. I mean.
00:14:00
Speaker
After decades and decades of propaganda and our failing education system and everything, I guess we don't have any more critical thinking skills left.

Voting Dilemma and Leadership Concerns

00:14:14
Speaker
There's so few of us
00:14:16
Speaker
So, I mean, I'm just ambivalent. I'm just really ambivalent about this upcoming. I mean, I know a lot of people on our side think voting doesn't matter anyway. And I think at this level, it probably doesn't.
00:14:31
Speaker
the national level, the presidential level. So at this point, I might just leave that blank. I mean, what does weigh on me is that I am in Florida and even though we've made significant gains and we're probably, I would say a light red state, you know, I still don't want to take it for granted and just decide not to vote because I think that's what happened with like Hillary Clinton and why she ended up getting beat is because everybody took it for granted.
00:14:55
Speaker
She was gonna win and also because they didn't because they took it for granted their their fraud machine hadn't been set up properly and so then people didn't vote and Trump snuck in through the back door, which is great.
00:15:09
Speaker
Um, so there's that if I, maybe if I lived in a different state, I would be like unequivocally, I don't care. I'm not voting for Trump. I live in Florida, slightly red, kind of purplish still, but leans red nowadays. Thanks to governor DeSantis, by the way. Um, so I'm a little torn, you know, I'm of course, Joe Biden is evil incarnate. Um, Trump is like.
00:15:34
Speaker
a little bit better, but I don't think he's a significant improvement. I just don't. He just hasn't shown me that he's learned any of his lessons or that he's gonna do anything differently.
00:15:47
Speaker
than what he did in his first term. I mean, he still is out there touting his magic vaccine and operation warps. Like, how tone deaf can you be? How tone deaf can you be to still be out there when a good majority of Republicans are well aware and wise to how awful those shots were?
00:16:07
Speaker
And so it's not just that, of course, I don't care what the liberals think, they're stupid and they're got the, you know, la, la, la, they have plugged their ears, they don't want to hear it. But to sit there and go out on your campaign rallies and still sit there and talk about how awesome Operation Warp Speed was and how many lives the vaccine saved, I mean,
00:16:27
Speaker
tone deaf, tone deaf. There's been no contrition, no repentance, no apologies, nothing that shows me that he's learned a lesson. You know, one of his worst, one of his Achilles heels in his first, in his first term was despite
00:16:46
Speaker
marketing himself as I pick all the best people because he was the apprentice and I pick all the best people and all that bluster and bloviating. I mean, literally, to a number, he picked all, all, all the worst people to surround himself with in the White House.
00:17:07
Speaker
Like, you and I, anybody who runs in our circles, libertarian-ish circles, could have picked better cabinet picks than what he did. Like, I mean, come on. Like, John Bolton, are you kidding me? Are you kidding me? Nikki Haley, are you kidding me? I mean, anybody in our circles could have told you
00:17:31
Speaker
somebody better. And so, and it wasn't just like one or two picks. I mean, sure. One or two picks is forgivable. Like, okay, maybe, yeah, we were, we thought better of this person and they didn't pan out. It was literally all of them. Every single one of them that he picked was awful. And it wasn't until maybe the very end, like when he finally, like the last three months of his pregnancy, uh, pregnancy, um,
00:18:00
Speaker
got Colonel Douglas McGregor in there, but it was like too little too late by that point. Like what's he going to do at that point? So he hasn't shown me, especially with his
00:18:09
Speaker
Stand, stand by your man of Mike Johnson, that he hasn't shown me that he's learned any lessons and all the names that I've seen thrown out for his VP pick. Now, maybe he's going to surprise us, but I don't know. Like all the names I'm hearing thrown out again are very uninspiring, very lackluster, milk toast Republicans like Tim Scott. Are you, come on. Um, Oh, Ben Carson, same, like just.
00:18:39
Speaker
wallpaper. Now I do get maybe they're, well, but Tim Scott's no better. I mean, it's not like he's so bad that because he's got a, you know, the deep state of salivating at the chance to take Trump out. So kind of like how Joe Biden, I mean, I think the only reason Joe Biden has survived in office so far is because Kamala Harris is just so, so much worse. Maybe not morally, but just as politically, she is just an abomination.
00:19:07
Speaker
She is the worst. I've come to learn and see witness that there is such a thing as a talented politician. As I said before in previous podcasts, I think Vivek Ramaswamy is what you would consider, even though he's never done it before, but the campaign he run,
00:19:25
Speaker
he was a very talented politician, like very savvy in his terms of his strategy and how he went about it. And just, he's a compelling speaker, very sharp, you know, like understands the issues, can talk to anybody about anything off the cuff. Kamala Harris, oh my God, it's just, it's embarrassing. It's embarrassing to watch her talk, you know, it's the equivalent of like,
00:19:52
Speaker
you know, a fourth grader trying to write a 500 word essay and trying to stuff it full of words. Well, a rainbow is colorful because it has colors. Like that's the equivalent of a Kamala Harris. I mean, she's just so dumb and just like, I don't know, it's awful. It's really, but I mean, I think because of that, that's the only reason Joe Biden has survived. So I mean, if you're Trump, do you pick somebody, but that's the thing is like Tim Scott isn't awful. That's somebody that the deep state would love.
00:20:21
Speaker
He's not awful from the deep state's perspective. He's awful from our perspective. Like he's so uninspiring, like whatever. From the deep state's perspective, they'd love to have a Tim Scott in there again, because he's another kind of wishy washy, middle of the road, very squishy Republican that they could certainly mold and shape and get him to do their bidding. He's certainly not anybody with conviction or, you know, a commitment to any sort of principles.
00:20:51
Speaker
Ben Carson, I mean, I don't know, maybe he's a little bit better in terms of that, but he's just, again, so such a snooze and a bore and uninspiring. So I don't know who, this is a good thought experiment. Maybe you guys can leave a comment or, or send me an email about who, like, if you wanted, who, who would be the Kamala Harris of the Republican party? That would be like so much worse than Trump from the deep state's eyes.
00:21:19
Speaker
that they would not want to take Trump out because they wouldn't want this person to be in charge. I mean, that's why I guess Kerry Lake, Kerry Lake comes to mind because they hate her just as much as they hate Trump. You know, she's, I've got mixed emotions about her too, but I think she would be that kind of courageous, outspoken,
00:21:46
Speaker
spunky pick that would give Trump some life insurance. JD Vance, he's out, he's, you know, he would be, I would be okay with a JD Vance VP pick. Kristi Noem, eh, again. So Vivek, I've heard, you know, I think he's out of the running. I heard maybe at one point he's being considered, but supposedly he's out of the running now. So, you know, there are lots of ways that Trump can lose my vote.
00:22:09
Speaker
And i mean i'm not assured that i am gonna vote for him i really i really i'm gonna probably a game time decision i have to wait and see there's still a lot that can happen i mean i feel like we're we're fitting in about.
00:22:23
Speaker
three decades worth of historical events in the first three months of 2024 alone. So we've got a long way to go to see what happens. So there's lots of ways that Trump can still lose my vote and probably not that many ways he can like solidly win it. I mean, he'd really have to show me something he hasn't shown yet up until this point, like a real ace up his sleeve or like a real
00:22:53
Speaker
like an actual 40 chess win like oh wow okay now I see I get it now like he'd have to show me something like that to be like alright that's it I'm in but he's got lots and lots of other ways he's probably gonna like lose my vote and I mean again I've considered RFK
00:23:13
Speaker
I like that he's at least convicted and he's talking about a lot of the issues that the other candidates won't. Again, his VP pick is problematic for me and for people on our side. So I don't know, there's that. The libertarian candidate now, if Dave Smith would have held up his end of the bargain, then I would have run for president under the libertarian ticket, I probably would have thrown my vote for him.
00:23:43
Speaker
Yeah, I'm actually casting my vote for somebody as opposed to just an anti vote, which is mostly what we're doing right now. Like I'm casting a vote for Trump, not because I'm for Trump, but because I'm a thousand percent anti Biden and anti pedophiles in the White House. Can the bar be any lower? Literally?
00:24:04
Speaker
then I just don't want to pedophile on the White House. So if Dave Smith were running, I would be like, heck yeah, because I'm going to vote for somebody finally. Now the other ones that are running,
00:24:16
Speaker
right now and they're still running their primary and the LP are all again just like uninspiring and I don't know, not making me excited to want to vote for any of them either. So I might just leave the presidential bubble blank.
00:24:37
Speaker
And just vote the rest of the down ballots. I mean, I don't know. I really don't. I'm still up in the air. I guess I'm one of those toss up those undecideds because there's still a lot of race to be run. I'm not a hundred percent rah rah Trump. I want to like the guy. I do.
00:24:53
Speaker
And there are some things he does that are good, but it's just counteracted. It's negated by stuff like what he just did here, by throwing Mike Johnson a life preserver. The guy should sink. You know, Trump campaigned in 2016 on draining the swamp, and rather than draining the swamp, Trump is bathing in it. He's bathing in it, head to toe.
00:25:22
Speaker
He ain't done nothing to drain the swamp, and he hasn't shown me he's gonna do anything to drain the swamp when you can't even drain the swamp creatures from your own party. You're certainly not gonna take on the Deep State.
00:25:33
Speaker
When you can't even kick the goons out of your own party, and do something like that, something bold and dramatic like that. He ain't show me anything. And so I'm not waiting. I'm not trusting. No plan. Trust the plan. Oh, he's going to do it when he gets back in office because he can't do it right now because he's like, again, all the excuses, all the excuses. Well, you got to wait till he gets back in office because, because, because, because, because of the wonderful way he was. No.
00:26:01
Speaker
Sorry, not buying it. Like we've heard all these excuses. I've heard all the excuses and none of the excuses ever. Again, for the, you know, even for operation warp speed. Well, he had to do it because otherwise they would have locked us down even longer or I don't know. Like again, there's always an excuse. And at some point I'm just tired of hearing excuses. I just want action, principled action and let the chips fall where they may just let the chips fuck. Can we just like get a straight up win?
00:26:31
Speaker
So say what you will about Ron DeSantis. He's winning here in Florida. He's doing what all the other Republicans say they want to do. And yet when it comes down to it, they only deliver
00:26:49
Speaker
half victories, if anything at all. So, yeah, so I think that that's where I'm at right now. I just, I've always had mixed opinions. I've never been Ra-Ra Trump. I've never been all aboard the Trump train. I've always been tepidly in support of him. And it hasn't changed. I mean, and the only reason I support him is just because the other choices are so God awful.
00:27:14
Speaker
It shouldn't be like this. We should not have to choose between a turd burger and a shit sandwich.
00:27:22
Speaker
That's not how democracy is supposed to work. Democracy. I'll take, you know, it's that book Hans Hermann Hoppe, Democracy, the God that Failed. I'm ready for, I'm ready for a monopoly, a monarchy. I mean, I'm ready for a monarchy. Give me a monarchy because this democracy thing ain't working out because this sucks. This sucks that we are literally choosing between
00:27:46
Speaker
a turd burger and a shit sandwich. That's what our presidential elections amount to these days. That's just wrong. And yet you get these people, especially on the left, that just revere democracy. And that's why I think Hans Hermann Hoppe, I mean, he termed aptly the God that failed.

Listener Engagement and Support

00:28:03
Speaker
I mean, they put democracy on a pedestal, like it's the highest
00:28:09
Speaker
honor we can aspire to is democracy. It's the highest value. And he did a great job of dismantling that piece by piece. So if you haven't checked it out, I would highly encourage you to check it out. So that's it. That's all I got. I mean, I guess I could ramble on about Trump even longer, but you get the gist. He just hasn't proven to me he's learned any lessons and
00:28:36
Speaker
unless he does something bold and, um, really does pull a 40 chest move, then I just am not really sure I can pull that lever for Trump.
00:28:49
Speaker
as awful as Biden is. I don't know. That's what I keep coming back to. So we will probably revisit this topic as it gets closer to the day. Again, lots, lots can change between now and November, lots and lots and lots and lots. So, um, I'm not ruling anything out at this point. So, um, if you have any thoughts on the matter, let me know, send me an email, Haley at Liberty Alliance network.com. Also just joke, just go to Liberty Alliance network.com. Jump on my email list. I write.
