Introduction and International Break Anticipation

00:00:09
Global Sports Podcast Network
Hello and welcome to the Daily Palace podcast brought to you by the Global Sports Podcast Network, as you just heard from our lovely jingle. I am your host today, Dan Tan, and I'm joined with the long-suffering Alex Way, who is still getting over the fact that we haven't played a game for nearly three weeks.
00:00:28
Global Sports Podcast Network
It has been a long, long international break. And finally we actually get to talk about Palace and get back to somewhat of a regular scheduled program.
00:00:41
Global Sports Podcast Network
So Alex, how are you doing mate? It's been a while to talk about Palace, so how are you doing?

Excitement for Upcoming Game and FA Cup Quarterfinal Discussion

00:00:48
Alex
Yeah, i'm I'm good, thanks, Dan. Like you say, it does feel like this has been longer than the usual international break. I think Palace didn't play for the weekend before either, which just makes it even even more difficult.
00:01:01
Alex
But like i said to you before, i'm I'm absolutely buzzing for the game on Saturday. Sometimes when you you don't have something that regularly and it comes back, you're like, it's almost like after lockdown when football returned and it was like, oh my God, football's on again.
00:01:14
Alex
Yeah. It's that kind of like joyful feeling.
00:01:16
Global Sports Podcast Network
who
00:01:17
Alex
it
00:01:18
Global Sports Podcast Network
Oh yeah, watching those ones at the empty stadium, that was very weird and surreal, but it was we had something to watch. It was great.
00:01:24
Alex
Yeah.
00:01:24
Global Sports Podcast Network
But yeah, so as Alex is alluding to there, we're going to go over the FA Cup quarterfinal match against Fulham, give our thoughts, score predictions as per usual.
00:01:37
Global Sports Podcast Network
i'm Also going to bring up a a little bit of Palace housekeeping, so of a the ongoing talks with Glasner for so his contract, etc. What can happen there?
00:01:49
Global Sports Podcast Network
We're also going to talk about a certain England player that got a goal, which doesn't happen very often for a Palace one. So we get to talk about it. I know Joe and Wale probably had so their thoughts on it, but we're going to give our two cents as well.
00:02:04
Global Sports Podcast Network
And finally, Matessa is back in the on the training pitch. So all is we all is good with the world. And then we sort of this but just have a So a nice sort of feeling that Mateta is back and how whats the what's the likelihood of him actually playing on the weekend?
00:02:23
Global Sports Podcast Network
If he does, if he doesn't, etc. So well let's get right down to it.

Analysis of Upcoming FA Cup Match

00:02:27
Global Sports Podcast Network
So on the weekend, we have got an FA Cup quarterfinal, which I think this is the furthest we've been in the competition since 2016.
00:02:38
Global Sports Podcast Network
and well And when that happened, we got to the final. So do we think sort of lightning can stop strike twice can history repeat itself Alex so what your yeah what are your thoughts going into this FA Cup quarter final game
00:02:55
Alex
I'm really on the fence about this one, Dan. just Fulham are probably like the worst kind of team we could play. like Them and Bournemouth for Palace, they're just slip-ups. It's never a guarantee.
00:03:12
Alex
It's usually a draw. It's very cagey, very similar sort of teams in terms of like the quality of players that we've got. and you know just recent results. We're both in similar form.
00:03:24
Alex
Fulham are just very difficult to beat. I was looking at their home form earlier today. think they've lost four of their home games this season, which is really good like for a mid-table Premier League side. Really good form.
00:03:38
Alex
And I think just the FA Cup, like realistically, it's all that we both of us have got to play for. like We're both... Maybe a bit too far off the European spots in the Premier League to have a run at that.
00:03:49
Alex
So, yeah, realistically, for both of us, it's the FA Cup. And this game is probably the biggest of our seasons so far. Yeah, I just, I'm really, I'm a bit nervous about it because obviously we want to get to Wembley, you know, in one one game away from the semifinal, which is at Wembley.
00:04:07
Alex
And we all know how much we love a Palace day out going up to North London. And, you know, the whole occasion is just sort of for a team like us is, you know, it's unusual. It doesn't happen very often and we make the most of it.
00:04:21
Alex
But yeah, going to Fulham is it's no walkover. So we're not there yet. And I'm expecting a very cagey, you know scrappy game on on Saturday. with no i don't think either team is the favourite really to win.
00:04:35
Alex
I think it is very going to be very close on Saturday.
00:04:38
Global Sports Podcast Network
I probably would tend to agree that it's going to be close because they won at Craven Codgian and we won at Sellers Park in the league. And between the two of we haven't played for three weeks. They haven't played for a little less. I think it's maybe two there to do a catch-up game. So there may be a little pressure, but I don't think I'll be too much.
00:04:59
Global Sports Podcast Network
But the last game was all Fulham, at least either side of the break. And then Palace will just have like five, 10 minutes where they're just being a little bit dominant. They're actually probing and stuff like that. So I would very much expect the same way.
00:05:16
Global Sports Podcast Network
They seem to be the Palace style of sort of it being very difficult to play against, but full of my dusters, sort of doggy adjusters, like they're not going to be pushovers and they're just quietly going about their business, really. Like we're kind of, they're,
00:05:34
Global Sports Podcast Network
I think kind of the talk of the town at the minute, because we've had sort of such a dramatic turn of form, Mateta, et cetera, sort of the scoring, the goals, see the incident, I think we're going to call it now in the last round. So we've been kind of a little bit more in people's minds than Fulham.
00:05:53
Global Sports Podcast Network
But yeah, they're not going to be easy. Not at this stage of a cup the cup run. So yeah, it's gonna it's going to be fun. are there any kind of players you think that are gonna steal the show?
00:06:07
Global Sports Podcast Network
sort of palace ones or there even or are there some Fulham players that you're not so keen on having a good game?
00:06:14
Alex
how Yeah, I mean, let's start with Fulham and and got so they've got a really good sort of team. They're attacking trio of Iwobi, Smith-Rowe and Raul Jimenez up front.
00:06:30
Alex
A very dangerous attacking trio. And it's usually like Willian Adama Traore starting on the left side. who are obviously very good and very kind of competent Premier League players.
00:06:43
Alex
ah ah so They do have tons of attacking threat, which I think could cause us a few problems. but That being said, I've been quite impressed with our defence recently. i don't think we've conceded for like five or six away games, which is really positive.
00:07:00
Alex
Glasner's found this settled like back five, which has worked really well recently. But yeah, that being said, that attacking four that they have is is really strong. So I would be worried about that.
00:07:12
Alex
But on the plus side, Joachim Henderson scored a couple of own goals in the international break. And I think Mateta gave him a hard time when we played at Craven Cottage a few weeks ago. So, yeah, I'm not too worried about him coming back to score against us. But, yeah, that'd be a fun one to watch.
00:07:31
Alex
And then for us, yeah, obviously Eze coming back from international form, getting his goal for England, you know, could be a key player for us. yeah, Sar obviously scored against Ipswich, scored the winner, like could be an important player in the attacking sense.
00:07:48
Alex
Adam Wharton's been amazing recently, so, you know, things are looking good, but like you mentioned, that three-week break, you never really know how a team's going to come back after it. It's sort of There's no like middle consistency. It's we're going to be really good, have appreciated the break quite a lot, or we're going to be a bit slow, a bit off the pace from competitive football.
00:08:10
Alex
And I think it does make a difference. So just yeah how we respond to that is going to be quite interesting. But I think Glasner is such a perfectionist that I don't think he'd let the standard slip. So I'm expecting us to come out and and give it 100% from the
00:08:30
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah as of i think there's one or two of the fallen players or at least the one i'm sort slightly more concerned of if it's still if he's fit or anything is uh smith rowe just because you know he was kind of robbed at arsenal really he was had his moment and then uh arteta came along and then didn't quite know what to do with him and never sort of quite lived up to that sort of champions league level player but he is such a good premier league midfielder that yeah It also doesn't help that he's a Croydon boy.
00:09:00
Global Sports Podcast Network
So you can't, it's just come on, he should be in the red and blue.
00:09:06
Alex
Yeah. Yeah.
00:09:06
Global Sports Podcast Network
So he's always going to be the sort of the real of fly in the ointment really.
00:09:07
Alex
but
00:09:13
Global Sports Podcast Network
And on the palace side, it's the usual suspects, Gahey, Eze and the sort of, Wharton definitely, he's come in leaps and bounds, especially after the missing, what, two, two and a bit months of the season.
00:09:25
Global Sports Podcast Network
He's come in like, oh, it was nothing. Don't worry about it. I'll find. So, yeah. So we're going to just a quick score prediction, Alex. What do you think? Do you think we're going to go through or do you think we're going to go through pens?
00:09:42
Global Sports Podcast Network
Because I don't want pens. That would just be a

Contract Talks and Player Strategy for Crystal Palace

00:09:45
Global Sports Podcast Network
that'll be an nightmare. I don't want pens.
00:09:47
Alex
Yeah, Palace and penalties is not... yeah We're like the England of the penalty shootout, just never win them. I don't think I've ever seen us win a penalty shootout. To be honest, I think going to be 1-0.
00:10:03
Alex
I hate making those predictions because it's so on the fence, but I can really see this one...
00:10:07
Global Sports Podcast Network
Not in a cup game. Come on, you've got to... Not in a cup game. I don't do replays anymore.
00:10:11
Alex
yeah yeah I know but that's yeah I just be in Palace like I think it's just going to be one all yeah very cagey very scrappy and my heart says that we're going to win like 2-0 or something but realistically it's going to be going to be a tough game so I'll go in one all Dan
00:10:13
Global Sports Podcast Network
but it's good It's on the day now.
00:10:37
Global Sports Podcast Network
I'm going to be a little bit more optimistic. I think we're going to sort of win it and I think it's probably going to be too nill But I'm definitely expecting the goals to come in the second half somewhere in the after the 60th minute just because we do not come out the block swinging.
00:10:52
Global Sports Podcast Network
We are a very slow, methodical team. But then after a little while, the counter attacks will start to become effective. So it's yeah, it's going to be all one way traffic for a while. It's all going to be Fulham and then suddenly out of nowhere,
00:11:06
Global Sports Podcast Network
Eze will get the ball and it'll just be in the back of the net or in their half and you're just like, oh, where did that come from? So I think, yeah, we'll move on to the next section after a quick word from our sponsor. And then after that, do a little bit of a Palace housekeeping with contract talks and an England goal scorer.
00:11:26
Global Sports Podcast Network
So we'll be right back after this. Thank you.
00:11:46
Global Sports Podcast Network
that
00:12:03
Global Sports Podcast Network
yeah
00:12:06
Global Sports Podcast Network
And we are back with a daily palace podcast. I'm still your host for this one, Dan Tanner. And Alex is still here talking about palace. I know he really, really wants to keep going on this because he will talk for palace for ages.
00:12:21
Global Sports Podcast Network
So, we'll, we could do this all day if we wanted to, but, so we're now going do a little bit of a palace news, which, uh, alludes to,
00:12:21
Alex
Thank
00:12:32
Global Sports Podcast Network
Glasner's contract negotiations slash talks are still ongoing. So, Alex, how so important is it for getting sort of Glasner to stay? Because on the likelihood over the summer, we are going to lose probably one, maybe more of our star players.
00:12:52
Global Sports Podcast Network
How important is it to keep Glasner at Sellers Park?
00:12:58
Alex
Yeah, huge.

Glasner's Impact and Eze's Role in the Team

00:13:00
Alex
It's probably like one of the biggest investments we can make in the future at the moment is to keep hold of Glasner. Especially we've had a couple of developments recently with Dougie Friedman leaving, which we won't get into. But we need but you know we need
00:13:16
Global Sports Podcast Network
No, I did that with Joe the other day, so you can skip that one.
00:13:18
Alex
good yeah good good because i don't want to talk about it yeah i don't want to talk about it just i'll say the word judas and then move on
00:13:29
Global Sports Podcast Network
Going straight for it. That really hurt you, didn't it?
00:13:32
Alex
yeah sometimes you only need one word to describe these things and i think that sums up but yeah anyway glasner's like yeah we we need him
00:13:40
Alex
to progress the club forward, I think. And I think a new contract is is fair at this point. If you would have asked, if you would have said maybe six months ago whether he deserves a new contract, I think the answer would have been very different, but he has turn turned our form around massively.
00:13:56
Alex
And yeah, hes he's got this sort of ambition that we've lacked at the club. for the last 10 years or so is to push up the Premier League. And he sort of brought that in.
00:14:08
Alex
And I think he's probably attracted a few players that we wouldn't have got before due to his ambition. players like Young players like Wharton, you know, he's revolutionised Mateta.
00:14:20
Alex
He's brought in Saar, who was like seen as almost like a failed Premier League winger. And he's made him into a proper goal scorer for us. And, you know, players like Maxence Lacroix are like absolute great find, you know, and just like I think all this sort of togetherness and bringing these guys in, young, good players and playing a sort of fun, very watchable like style of football, I think has sort of got the fans on side as well. So, the site yeah, there's so much going for him.
00:14:52
Alex
And I think he is deserving of a new contract. I think the only... From what I've seen, it looks like the talks are progressing well, but it's if you know a bigger fish comes in, which I think is RB Leipzig at this point are interested in it.
00:15:07
Alex
That's the only kind of sticking point is if a bigger club comes along and wants to take it. But yeah, I think like hes He's such a like perfectionist and like just wants to do the best and get the best out of everyone.
00:15:21
Alex
I can just see maybe like if we're not moving into that top half of the table consistently, what what's going to happen? Is he going to just leave and like you know we'll have to find a plan B?
00:15:33
Alex
But that's like a future problem. But for now, I think he deserves a contract. and hopefully you get we get him over the line because I don't think I could cope with another loss of a key sort of figure at the club at this stage.
00:15:47
Global Sports Podcast Network
Or Roy Hodgson coming back, because that seems to be our general idea when we get rid of a manager. Let's get Roy Hodgson back for a while.
00:15:54
Alex
yeah is so Is he actually retired yet? I don't think he's fully retired.
00:15:57
Global Sports Podcast Network
I'm not sure.
00:15:59
Global Sports Podcast Network
i really don't.
00:15:59
Alex
yeah
00:16:02
Alex
Hopefully he has.
00:16:02
Global Sports Podcast Network
We'll have to sort of... Yeah, well let's shoot we'll just say for the sake of argument, and he has, but we'll have to keep our ear to the ground because you know what Palace board are like.
00:16:10
Alex
Yeah.
00:16:10
Global Sports Podcast Network
But yeah, very much in the same vein. Definitely need to keep him. Because I remember, I think at the beginning of the season, we were having these conversations of who could be a potential manager if Galatina gets the sack. Because i I think there was at one point he had a three match to turn it around.
00:16:28
Global Sports Podcast Network
And just somehow he managed to pull it out of the bag and go on this sort of insane run, really. So haven't dropped too many points over the last sort of two or three months since what just before Christmas.
00:16:41
Global Sports Podcast Network
And on the rate that we're going, there could be a slight outside chance of European football. It's a little bit on the sort of horizon, but because our next 10 games have got, we've got two or three of the big six almost back to back. So that could be interesting.
00:16:57
Global Sports Podcast Network
So at the very least, keeping him around would be definitely top priority for me. Managers can be sort of really sort of influential when sort of signing players as well as you brought up.
00:17:11
Global Sports Podcast Network
So if you've got a manager that is sort of known for building up players and building up confidence and of seeing potential where there isn't, it can be a real big draw for some players, especially ones that have like not quite hit their potential.
00:17:28
Global Sports Podcast Network
So yeah, if we can keep them around, absolutely fantastic because I really can't think of anybody else that's going to do the same thing, not without sort of one or two other managers leading their position.
00:17:41
Global Sports Podcast Network
And even then i don't think Palace, some of these guys isn't, is that attractive. We are kind of a, at the moment, perennial mid table team. We need a little bit of a push. And I think Glasner is the guy to do it.
00:17:57
Global Sports Podcast Network
Also talking about sort guys that are pushing forward in their career a bit. We are going to talk about an England goal scorer. Eze getting a his first goal for England.
00:18:08
Global Sports Podcast Network
and also being the second palace player to score a goal for England. How important is that man? That's just a, I was trying to go back like before the, the current crop of England players, I think the last palace player to actually be in the squad, I think was Zaha.
00:18:15
Alex
Yeah. Yeah.
00:18:27
Global Sports Podcast Network
I think that he was only there for maybe about two appearances of a grand total of 20 minutes. So we're now being taken seriously as a football club.
00:18:27
Alex
yeah
00:18:34
Alex
Yeah, and then he moved to Ivory Coast.
00:18:37
Global Sports Podcast Network
It's great.
00:18:38
Alex
yeah's it's a Yeah, I think Zaha played twice for England, realised it wasn't for him, and then went to the Ivory Coast, which, fair enough. And then he he didn't play much for them either.
00:18:49
Global Sports Podcast Network
exactly if you like
00:18:49
Alex
So, I don't think he liked international football that much, to be honest.
00:18:53
Alex
Yeah.
00:18:54
Global Sports Podcast Network
I want to go to a big club and nobody wants me.
00:18:56
Alex
Yeah, it's sort of like that. But yeah, and then like before him, it was obviously Andy Johnson played like one one or two games as well, but i don't think he scored. But yeah, Eze has deserved it. by If any current Palace player deserved to score for England, it's him.
00:19:12
Alex
He's just yeah been amazing for us. And his goal is like what we see him do every week as well, just take... had had one Latvian defender sitting on the floor and then shot for another one. It deflected off a third and it's like, okay, that's Eze all over, really.
00:19:29
Alex
Just like taking three players out of the game in one move. I think Tuchel will utilise Eze probably more effectively than Southgate ever did. that's the hope anyway and I think as long as he stays fit he should be fingers crossed you know in contention for the World Cup that's still a long way off but yeah I think yeah he he'll be in that squad whether he's at Palace or not is maybe a different discussion because there's a long time in between that but yeah i mean just seeing a Palace player get on the score sheet for England it's just like yeah it gives you a bit of a
00:20:05
Alex
but You celebrate it doubly hard, whereas Kane scores, you're like, oh, he scored again. like Don't really care. But then Eze scores, and you're like, yes, go on, son, get in. It's a different feeling. But yeah, couldn't happen to a nicer guy either. I love Eze. It looks like the the England team love him as well, like the way they celebrated.
00:20:23
Alex
So that was a night nice touch as well.
00:20:26
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, definitely it was a great moment to sort of see. Didn't get a goal. I didn't watch it specifically because I'm kind of watching England games every now and again because it was that year. It's like, okay, fine. That should be relatively clean.
00:20:40
Global Sports Podcast Network
Clean victory. No problem. So I looked down on my phone during the updates. Oh, and they scored. Nice.
00:20:47
Alex
Yeah, that's exactly it.
00:20:48
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yes.
00:20:49
Alex
like Go and get in.
00:20:49
Global Sports Podcast Network
Come on.
00:20:50
Alex
Yeah.
00:20:50
Global Sports Podcast Network
Let's go. Get in.
00:20:52
Alex
but When you see England have scored, you're like, oh, it's Kane again. Definitely Kane. Or like, I don't Bellingham. But yeah, when it says that, it's like, yeah.
00:21:01
Alex
Nice feeling.
00:21:01
Global Sports Podcast Network
So yeah, it's always a great moment for an England player to one get the first one, but it's sort of going to the records as well for Palace being the second ever England goal scorer.
00:21:13
Global Sports Podcast Network
I can't remember. i think it's Taylor was the last one, but I can't remember when it was.
00:21:15
Alex
Hmm.
00:21:18
Global Sports Podcast Network
I was looking at Upload earlier. I can't remember when it was.
00:21:21
Alex
Before we were born, Dan, so it's a long time ago.
00:21:21
Global Sports Podcast Network
So it was definitely before I was born, like well, well, well before I was born.
00:21:30
Global Sports Podcast Network
So, yeah, and couldn't couldn't happen to a nicer bloke. Now we just need a couple more England players to get into the squad. I don't know. Warton, nudge, nudge, wink, wink.
00:21:43
Alex
listening to call, you know what to do.
00:21:45
Global Sports Podcast Network
Exactly. you don't need You don't need that Dean Henderson. Go and get Warton. Go and get him in the squad. I think I went through this a couple of days ago as well. I just have the same rants over and over again.
00:21:59
Alex
international break. You're going to run out of topics eventually. Just start slamming too cool when you can.
00:22:06
Global Sports Podcast Network
Right, yep. yeah When he starts losing, do call out
00:22:11
Alex
yeah yeah Yeah, exactly. Get Hodgson back in.
00:22:16
Global Sports Podcast Network
but Go get Southgate, bring him back, come on. Yeah, I think on that note, we'll take a another

Mateta's Return and Team Impact

00:22:22
Global Sports Podcast Network
quick break to thank our provider here at Zencaster. And then we're going to talk about the big Frenchman.
00:22:28
Global Sports Podcast Network
So we'll be right back after this.

So Mateta is back in training as of, I think it was yesterday, I think full team training, uh, and was doing sort of individual training while the team during international break, while the team was in there. So spring break kind of holiday.
00:23:31
Global Sports Podcast Network
in Marbella. I know it wasn't a holiday, it was a training camp, but it's all right for some, isn't it, to go and have a mid-season holiday, like little breakout in the sun. So Alex, if you were at Glasner tomorrow or on the weekend, would you start him?
00:23:50
Global Sports Podcast Network
And how much of a boost is it to have him back? Because after that horrific injury, that the incident, in the last round, quite literally the last round of the FA Cup.
00:24:04
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, how much of a boost would he be sort of in the squad, of having him back in the squad?
00:24:10
Alex
Yeah, massive. Just firstly, it's just great that he's back so soon, considering, like you said, the sort of nature of the injury picked up against Millwall was just so horrific.
00:24:23
Alex
like And you do you do fear immediately, like obviously, that that he's okay. But then also, like once you realise he's okay, it's like, how long is he out for? Because he has been such a key player for us this season.
00:24:37
Alex
But yeah, I mean, just having him back in and around the team is like... It's not just sort of the goals. It's like his presence is massive for the squad and the club.
00:24:47
Alex
Just like when things weren't going great, he was always the one just like G everyone up and like get the k crowd going, like bring everyone together and sort of almost like that leadership role, which has been like massively important. And actually saw when we were playing in Marbella, some like local Spanish team, he was celebrating the goals from the stands and like,
00:25:09
Alex
you know really enjoying watching the the lads play who were playing out there so it's just that kind of figure that he brings that not not many of the other players have maybe like munoz and people like that have it but yeah there's very few of them so just having him around the squad is a boost whether he'll start or not i'm not sure to be honest he'll obviously be assessed by the club and everything but i think if he is fit enough to we have to we have to play him really just because Nketiah got his chance against Ipswich and when Mateta was out. And I don't think he took it, to be honest.
00:25:46
Alex
He missed a couple of good chances that he should have been scoring. I know he scored against Millwall when he came on, but it's Millwall. It's not the Premier League opposition. And yeah, I just, I don't trust Nketiah in a game like this, whereas Mateta...
00:26:01
Alex
feel like if he's fit you have to play him right just because he brings so much to the team so yeah it's it's an interesting one and i hope he is fit enough to play and just if he is even 90 85 think we've got to play him eighty five percent often we've got a play and yeah I can't see us doing the same job with Nketiah up front, which is a shame because i love him, but he's like he hasn't proved himself yet. so would give Mateta the nod if if he is available, yes.
00:26:34
Alex
It's so difficult, isn't it? It was such a bad injury. If he's not ready, they're going to play him. I'm a bit torn on this one, but i'd I'd love to see him start on Saturday. it would be such a boost for everyone.
00:26:48
Global Sports Podcast Network
Yeah, I'm not so sure if they'd start him. I think they'll probably try and play it cautious, at least probably for a half. But Nketiah is a sort decent enough center forward and Saar is still fit enough. So if he wants to use Saar as a kind of the more attacking force up front because he's kind of the same kind of builds as Mateta, sort of big and strong. So Saar will probably get the nod first, I think.
00:27:18
Global Sports Podcast Network
That's what I would do anyway. And then sort of give Mateta sort of half hour, 45 minute, come on on the second half. if here So if they're confident that he he's fit enough, because I know is it's an injury that's not really going to affect him actually playing, but it is still just sort we just want to make sure, mate. just just We just want to make sure, because I think he's going to be playing with a kind of ear protector.
00:27:45
Global Sports Podcast Network
it's kind of like a cup I've seen the video of him sort training it's kind of like I've got a cup and it stops kind of strapped around his head and slightly around the neck just sort of though it's got some tension so we'll see how that works because I think he was toying with the idea of that rugby cap that Czech used for a while but he wasn't comfortable with it so if it took out his vision and things like that he wasn't sort feeling it having him sort of back in on the training is It's really encouraging because watching the interview afterwards about sort of the incident, like he was very sort calm, collected about it, very professional, very like, it's done.
00:28:26
Global Sports Podcast Network
Can we stop talking about it? I just want to get on and play football. I just want to get back in and start playing again. So it's always really encouraging when they're like that and they're not going to dwell on the injury or anything.
00:28:37
Global Sports Podcast Network
So And just, yeah, as you were saying earlier, Mateta, geez, everybody up. He's the life of the party there, especially in the tunnel. So of just getting everybody revved up for the game. So that kind of that kind of stuff you kind of can forget about these kind of intangibles for some players.
00:28:57
Global Sports Podcast Network
So it's all good.

Global Sports Podcast Network
Mateta is back. We're all get get behind Mateta and we'll get the boom going again. I think that's pretty much all we have time for. So Alex, thank you for your time to talk about Palace because I know, as I said earlier, you could do this all day if you wanted to.
00:29:18
Alex
Yeah, i mean, if I didn't have another job, I probably would try and do this all day. Even in the international break, there's still things you can talk about, Palace. But yeah, I'm glad we're back on Saturday. And honestly, I can't wait.
00:29:30
Alex
Can't wait to hopefully see us through to Wembley. So let's see.
00:29:34
