Speaker: I ran Michigan.

Speaker: I don't even know what he's thinking.

Speaker: He's just a complete bird head.

Speaker: Brady Kachunk.

Speaker: Thomas is my best friend.

Speaker: I got a lot of good luck in Newt on my team.

Speaker: You just got Newt.

Speaker: I've got them.

Speaker: I've got them, we'll see.

Speaker: Hi everyone and welcome to episode of Elite Sense Brain.

Speaker: As always, I'm Biara and I am joined by my co-host, Twitter user at ErickSenseBurner.

Speaker: How's it going?

Speaker: I'm doing good.

Speaker: How are you?

Speaker: I'm doing great.

Speaker: had to one-up me yeah I'm doing great because I just finished my semester it's pretty fun yeah celebrating by recording a podcast just as you celebrated finishing your undergrad by recording a podcast guys this is how much we love this podcast yeah we literally always are dedicating our time to it we love to provide content for you that is our sole purpose in life

Speaker: So speaking of providing content, this is a terrible segue, but we're going to jump right into our first bit of content today because we need to gloat.

Speaker: We have something that we are very proud of that we need to remind everyone we were right about because in the last episode, we predicted who would win each title in the PWHL, who would get the most points, the most goals, all of that.

Speaker: And for most points, we predicted Breanne Jenner.

Speaker: Now, this was an off-the-board pick because Breanne Jenner did not have a lot of points at the time.

Speaker: She wasn't near the top of the scoring lead.

Speaker: And we predicted that she would just score so many goals in the last five games of the season.

Speaker: PWHL Ottawa comes back, very first game.

Speaker: How many goals does Breanne Jenner score?

Speaker: Three.

Speaker: So she's now in the conversation.

Speaker: Why are we geniuses?

Speaker: Literally look at the name of the podcast, Elite Sends Brain.

Speaker: We are the description.

Speaker: We are geniuses.

Speaker: We've been telling you this from the start.

Speaker: And if you didn't believe us, you'd better believe us now.

Speaker: This is proof that we know what we're talking about.

Speaker: We know punk.

Speaker: It's true.

Speaker: Everyone doubted us.

Speaker: So yeah, we just had to say that.

Speaker: We are recording this right before the game of the century, really.

Speaker: The most important hockey game that's ever happened.

Speaker: Ottawa versus Boston.

Speaker: So this will be a little bit sad if Ottawa loses to Boston.

Speaker: But right now, PWHL Ottawa is on top of the world.

Speaker: Apparently there's another team in Ottawa that just finished up their season, but I don't really care.

Speaker: We're all about Ottawa right now.

Speaker: PWHL Ottawa, they're going to win the cup.

Speaker: It's guaranteed.

Speaker: And Brianne Jenner is going to win the scoring title.

Speaker: It's true.

Speaker: I also love our pattern of always recording right before games.

Speaker: It's like, this will necessarily be out of date.

Speaker: How many times have we... Has it happened twice that we also recorded right before the trade deadline, too?

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: And we recorded right before the All-Star break.

Speaker: We recorded right before things happened.

Speaker: Look, sometimes the schedule just doesn't light up.

Speaker: Yeah, the schedule is always me forgetting that we do this and Vieta texting me like, hey, we should probably record an episode again.

Speaker: And I'm like, oh my god, right, I totally forgot.

Speaker: It's really funny because in my head, it's like every two weeks, but then every time you never like send me a text.

Speaker: So I'm always like, oh, is she waiting for me to text?

Speaker: Like, do I have to be able to do that?

Speaker: I just don't know what time it is.

Speaker: Like, I just don't know what day it is.

Speaker: Like at any time of day, I'm just like...

Speaker: where am I like what's going on um I think one time I think like one time I texted you first to be like we should record a podcast soon and I was like look at me like I'm so I think it happened once yeah I'm like sugarhead it did happen once no no no I I'm trying to remember what it was it probably was

Speaker: it probably did happen it happened one time but I'm thinking like what was going on in my life that I like was definitely like in exams or something like something was happening with you and nothing was happening with me it still took me like four weeks to be like wait a second was that the last episode no no that was I definitely said that wait let me just

Speaker: I can check like how... No, no, no.

Speaker: I know our last episode, it wasn't... I was the one to text.

Speaker: Yeah, yeah.

Speaker: I think it was the one before that.

Speaker: Because it looks like there was a month-long break between like our third last episode and our second last episode.

Speaker: Our last episode was 15 days ago, though.

Speaker: So we did amazing this time.

Speaker: Oh, yeah.

Speaker: You did.

Speaker: Wednesday, February 28th.

Speaker: Hey, just wanted to check when you would be free to record the next episode.

Speaker: Oh my god, I was literally sending that off.

Speaker: I was like, I'm so on my shit right now.

Speaker: Like, oh my god, like, I'm such like a genius.

Speaker: Like, I basically have an agenda.

Speaker: Like, oh my god.

Speaker: I was impressed too.

Speaker: Thank you so much.

Speaker: I've never done it again.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: But, you know, every time that it takes us a while to get an episode out or we record at an inconvenient time, we always say to each other, I don't think this is very, like, time sensitive.

Speaker: I don't think the things we discussed will be out of date in a few days.

Speaker: And we're always right because we are geniuses.

Speaker: Yeah, because basically I, whenever I am the one editing, okay, yeah, I normally edit super fast.

Speaker: I think one time you had like literal exams or papers and you were like, oh, I'm going to take a little bit longer.

Speaker: And you took like way shorter than I ever take.

Speaker: But like whenever I'm editing, I'm like, I'm going to do this fast.

Speaker: But is it okay if I don't?

Speaker: And yeah, we are always like, well, we didn't discuss anything topical.

Speaker: And it's like,

Speaker: How does it keep happening?

Speaker: How does it keep happening?

Speaker: That is a galaxy brain podcasting, like the way to go, you know?

Speaker: What are you doing recording things that are going to be out of date in a few days when you could just talk about random shit that is not at all relevant?

Speaker: Yeah, no, exactly.

Speaker: That's the other thing that we were talking about, about like, um...

Speaker: how we always like record before things happen.

Speaker: It's like, yeah, this way it's like, literally it's going to be out of date in like 10 minutes.

Speaker: So like, it doesn't matter when we put this out.

Speaker: Exactly.

Speaker: Exactly.

Speaker: Some podcasts need to take notes from us.

Speaker: Not welcome to your Carlson years.

Speaker: We're taking notes from them.

Speaker: Yeah, exactly.

Speaker: Oh my God.

Speaker: Shout out to them.

Speaker: They came back.

Speaker: I know.

Speaker: I loved the latest episode.

Speaker: It was great.

Speaker: I'll listen to them.

Speaker: So anyways, sorry, we had to get warmed up a little bit.

Speaker: Although the Ottawa Senators are shit and ended their season in a very anticlimactic way so that there's nothing to talk about.

Speaker: There is something that we want to talk about, which is all the teams who also sucked and didn't make the playoffs.

Speaker: And so we thought in this episode, we would give a haters eulogy to each team that didn't make the playoffs because we are tired of talking about how much the Ottawa Senators suck when we should be talking about how much all these other teams suck.

Speaker: Yeah, thank you.

Speaker: We are always like, yeah, the Sens are bad, the Sens are bad.

Speaker: But you know what?

Speaker: There's like, I don't remember how many teams are in this league, but there's like 15 other teams.

Speaker: Yeah, so how many teams didn't make that?

Speaker: So 16 make it, 16 don't.

Speaker: So the Sens plus 15 teams are awful.

Speaker: And we are always just talking about how the Sens are awful.

Speaker: But there's 15 teams that have not been criticized by it.

Speaker: That's not even true.

Speaker: I'm just gonna say that have not been criticized by us.

Speaker: But like, going through this list, I think we've like said a negative thing about almost every single one of these teams.

Speaker: Like at least one negative thing.

Speaker: Yeah, I think so.

Speaker: But they deserve like their own like mini segment about like how they suck for missing the playoffs.

Speaker: Yeah, and it's like, you know, the second half of the season has brought us so little joy, so we should derive joy from watching the failures of other teams.

Speaker: That's all we have left right now.

Speaker: Exactly.

Speaker: Like, truly, Misery loves company.

Speaker: And because of that, we will now hate or eulogize all the other teams that we are miserable with.

Speaker: Yeah, so starting at the bottom of the standings, San Jose Sharks, which at least I respect that they have committed to being bad after being accidentally bad for a long time.

Speaker: Yeah, they are proper bad now.

Speaker: They fired their coach earlier today.

Speaker: I don't remember his name.

Speaker: David Quinn?

Speaker: Probably.

Speaker: Okay, yeah, so...

Speaker: That's, they, yep.

Speaker: I have nothing else to do with him.

Speaker: Not sure what he was supposed to do with that roster.

Speaker: Yeah, I literally can't name a single person on that team now that Eric Carlson is gone.

Speaker: I also love that they, like, just extended Tomas Hurdle and then just, at the time, everyone was like, why would you do that?

Speaker: That was a bad idea.

Speaker: It was a bad idea at the time to give him that long-ass extension.

Speaker: And then, sure enough, they trade him.

Speaker: Yeah, and...

Speaker: Literally, I cannot name anyone on that team.

Speaker: I know I already said that.

Speaker: Can you name anyone on that team currently?

Speaker: I don't think so.

Speaker: Because they got rid of Hurdle and Meyer.

Speaker: Right?

Speaker: Yeah, everyone's gone.

Speaker: Everyone is gone.

Speaker: Is James Reimer on that team?

Speaker: Oh, sorry.

Speaker: James Reimer?

Speaker: Is he ever?

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: No, he was on, remember he was on the Red Wings because he ducked when the Red Wings shot the fuck out of him.

Speaker: I swear he, well we don't like him anyway, so it doesn't matter.

Speaker: Oh my gosh.

Speaker: Guys, I can't name a single person on this team.

Speaker: Who's that guy who's like, who's the Swedish like prospect who the Sens like put on waivers and then San Jose like picked him up or something.

Speaker: And then everyone was like, oh my God, like he's going to make it big.

Speaker: His name starts with a J. I don't even know.

Speaker: If anyone knows who I'm talking, did I make him up?

Speaker: I don't know.

Speaker: Probably not.

Speaker: I just, I don't think about the Sharks anymore.

Speaker: And they're bad.

Speaker: And that's, yeah, they belong at the bottom of the standings.

Speaker: Congrats on actually having your first overall pick this time, San Jose.

Speaker: Oh my gosh.

Speaker: That's very exciting for you.

Speaker: Thank you so much for the pass, though.

Speaker: We really appreciate that.

Speaker: Thank you for Tim Stutz, though.

Speaker: And Josh Doris.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: We're the only ones still thanking them for Josh Norris.

Speaker: We are.

Speaker: Anyway.

Speaker: We love him.

Speaker: Okay, we love him.

Speaker: He's everything to us.

Speaker: We will wait for him forever.

Speaker: Okay, the next team is Chicago.

Speaker: I mean, what is there to say?

Speaker: I feel like a lot of the dunks in Chicago are just, like, not funny.

Speaker: Because there's a lot of actual serious stuff with them.

Speaker: So, fuck you, Chicago.

Speaker: Yeah, we don't like you.

Speaker: I can name one player on Chicago.

Speaker: I can name two.

Speaker: How dare you disrespect Nikita Zaitsev like this?

Speaker: I totally forgot.

Speaker: Oh my god.

Speaker: He scored a beautiful own goal on the Sens.

Speaker: I can't believe Nikita Zaitsev is still in the NHL.

Speaker: But if he's on Chicago, is he even really in the NHL?

Speaker: That's a great point.

Speaker: So yeah, fuck you, Chicago.

Speaker: And we're going to move right on to the Anaheim Ducks, who I thought they were ahead of us in their rebuild.

Speaker: Weren't people saying that in 2021?

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: I was told that Jamie Drysdale was better than Jake Sanderson, but now I notice that Jamie Drysdale is not even on this team anymore.

Speaker: Interesting.

Speaker: Yeah, I was told the Sens were stupid for taking Jake Sanderson over Jamie Drysdale.

Speaker: Yeah, interesting.

Speaker: Look how that turned out.

Speaker: Also, Trevor Zegers, like, what is he even doing?

Speaker: What happened to that guy?

Speaker: He got injured.

Speaker: That's what happened.

Speaker: Maybe that's mean to mock his injury.

Speaker: He is dating Dixie D'Amelio.

Speaker: Oh, yeah.

Speaker: But, like, that's the most interesting thing we can say about your team.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Oh, my gosh.

Speaker: This is my Anaheim Ducks take.

Speaker: Everyone should listen to Dixie D'Amelio's song Psycho because it's actually really catchy.

Speaker: And no one, I feel like, gave it a chance.

Speaker: But it's like really catchy.

Speaker: I don't like her other songs, but you should listen to that song.

Speaker: It's like a really, really catchy song.

Speaker: Okay, I'll check it out.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: It's great to know.

Speaker: So that's my eulogy for the Anaheim Ducks is that no one cares about you...

Speaker: Like, directly, people only care tangentially through Dixie D'Amelio.

Speaker: True.

Speaker: It's going to be the new Taylor Swift, Travis Kelsey.

Speaker: Like, I can see it, you know?

Speaker: But, like, on a much smaller scale.

Speaker: Exactly.

Speaker: Oh my gosh, we will talk about that later.

Speaker: That's a sneak peek for later.

Speaker: Yeah, let's put a pin in that.

Speaker: Okay, the next team is the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Speaker: I appreciate the Columbus Blue Jackets so much.

Speaker: I am so glad they exist because they just make me feel so much better about the Sens.

Speaker: Like, this is a team that has tried so hard to get out of the rebuild phase for so long.

Speaker: They have collected so many high picks.

Speaker: They have said the rebuild is over a million times.

Speaker: And look where they are.

Speaker: People mock the Sens.

Speaker: That's just proof that the Sens are the main characters of the NHL because if people cared, they would mock the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Speaker: But the Columbus Blue Jackets are so irrelevant that nobody even cares enough to mock them.

Speaker: It's so true.

Speaker: This is so sad.

Speaker: I'm sorry, Columbus.

Speaker: I'm not.

Speaker: Until the Sens become good, I need you to stay bad.

Speaker: Because how embarrassing would it be if they became good?

Speaker: That's actually so real.

Speaker: How embarrassing would it be if they became good?

Speaker: Just ask the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Speaker: Because the one time they became good for like five minutes, it was disastrous for the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Speaker: That was pretty funny.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: So, yeah, Columbus, thank you for being bad.

Speaker: Well, we are going through our own stuff.

Speaker: We really appreciate your service here.

Speaker: Like, just, just no one else is doing it like you.

Speaker: Like, just, you show up every year and you are so consistently bad.

Speaker: And it just brings me so much joy.

Speaker: It's true.

Speaker: It's so true.

Speaker: Anyway.

Speaker: Shout out to the Blue Jackets.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Shout out so much to the Blue Jackets.

Speaker: Next is a team that we actually, like, care about somewhat.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: We've already done a whole haters episode about them.

Speaker: Fuck the Habs.

Speaker: Fuck them.

Speaker: Yeah, awful team.

Speaker: Just straight garbage.

Speaker: Oh, all of my Habs fan friends were telling me about how they're tanking this year and how actually, like, I shouldn't make fun of, like, they're allowed to make fun of Ottawa for being bad and I can't reply that the Habs are worse because the Habs are tanking and they're gonna get a good draft pick and actually, like, it's all part of the plan.

Speaker: You are what, sixth last in the league?

Speaker: amateurish amateurish that is not a real tank it's not can't even do that properly also that's just such cope the montreal cope nadians oh fifth last okay yeah like as somebody who used to say that all the time it's just cope it is

Speaker: Anyway, so, yeah, for more hater energy, I guess just refer back to any other episode.

Speaker: Just tune in to our next episode.

Speaker: I'm sure we'll find a way.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: It's like there's nothing left to say about the Habs.

Speaker: Yeah, it's true.

Speaker: You know what?

Speaker: We've already said all the hater things about them.

Speaker: They're bad.

Speaker: They will stay bad forever.

Speaker: Their fans are annoying.

Speaker: I hate them.

Speaker: Yep.

Speaker: I have nothing more to add.

Speaker: Okay, moving on.

Speaker: This one's kind of sad because they actually died.

Speaker: Arizona Coyote.

Speaker: Man.

Speaker: And you know...

Speaker: It's a little bit like Columbus where it's like, I appreciate that they're so consistently bad because it just makes me feel so much better.

Speaker: And it was a similar thing with their ownership situation where for many years, you know, when Eugene Melnick threatened to move the team and all that, we could say, you know what?

Speaker: If Arizona hasn't moved, we're not going to move.

Speaker: You can always point to them and say they have it worse.

Speaker: And I'm really going to miss that.

Speaker: They were very, like, canary in a coal mine, where it's like, okay, as long as they're still alive, we'll all be okay.

Speaker: But now it's like, I don't know.

Speaker: Like, there's no, like, benchmark anymore.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: On a real note, that's really sad.

Speaker: I'm sorry to, like, Arizona fans who lost their team.

Speaker: Also, it is so messed up that they put all that work into renovating that college arena, moving the team.

Speaker: And when they did that, everyone said, like, there's no way they're actually going to go through with this, right?

Speaker: Like, they're just posturing and they're going to move the team because, you know, this team got kicked out of their arena.

Speaker: And there's no way that they're actually going to put all this effort into this, like,

Speaker: really ridiculous temporary solution and I think it's just sad that they kind of did all of that only to move the team in the ends I don't know it's like I guess they it's nice that like they got one more season like Arizona fans got one more season but it's kind of like oh like why did that all happen then and yeah apparently there's like a thing where a

Speaker: If within, like, five years, the owner can, like, find, like, a suitable place for...

Speaker: like an NHL team in Arizona, then like they can have a team back.

Speaker: So I, then does that just mean that there's going to be like another expansion and there's just going to be 30.

Speaker: I know it's so confusing.

Speaker: I don't want more expansion.

Speaker: We don't need it.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: And it's also just, it gets more confusing because it's like, they used to be the jets and now they're the coyotes and then they're going to be in Utah.

Speaker: And then there's another jets team that used to be the thrashers.

Speaker: And then is there also going to be another like Phoenix or Arizona team?

Speaker: Like what, what?

Speaker: I don't understand.

Speaker: Yeah, it's like, how can anyone ever hold a scoring record in Arizona?

Speaker: It's like, who are we comparing you to?

Speaker: But yeah, so RIP Arizona Coyotes.

Speaker: Maybe they'll come back, but we really don't want that, actually.

Speaker: Yeah, in terms of the Utah team...

Speaker: I have, like, no comment.

Speaker: On Blue Sky, I said my one comment is that I bet instead of beard, they'll serve, like, really fancy sodas.

Speaker: I feel like that could be kind of fun, though.

Speaker: Yeah, like soda shop vibes.

Speaker: Maybe.

Speaker: Pilk?

Speaker: You know Pilk?

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: It could be fun.

Speaker: Not my thing, but, you know, I respect it.

Speaker: I'm not going to make fun of people for drinking that.

Speaker: Yeah, kind of interesting about, like, to think that hockey players now have to, like, or NHL players have to think about potentially having to live in Utah.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: I don't know.

Speaker: I saw that there was some controversy about players who like, you know, had certain teams, but not others on their no trade lists and stuff.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: But they wouldn't have included Arizona.

Speaker: So now.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Wait, reverse.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: So they like didn't include Arizona, but they are like, I'm not trying to move to Utah, which is interesting.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: It is interesting to think of how that would work, and I hadn't even considered that, but they must have addressed that situation in the past because teams have moved and there's been expansion and stuff, right?

Speaker: It's also like, yeah, it makes me think, how does that work with expansion?

Speaker: What if you have a 10-team no-trade list, and then suddenly the NHL expands to Seattle, and for some reason you're like, fuck Seattle, I don't want to move there, that would be on my list, but also like,

Speaker: a 10-team no-trade list a few years ago was a third of the league, and now it's less than that.

Speaker: Yeah, they need to increase it with inflation.

Speaker: Yeah, but then again, it's like, it's not, even increasing it by one team wouldn't be proportionate, you know?

Speaker: Yeah, it's interesting.

Speaker: I have no idea how any of it works.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Actually, that's a great segue.

Speaker: Our next team, Seattle Kraken.

Speaker: I mean, what is there to say?

Speaker: You haven't been around long.

Speaker: You were briefly good.

Speaker: I appreciate that they are bad.

Speaker: I think that that is the rightful place of an expansion team.

Speaker: Fuck Vegas.

Speaker: Yeah, finally.

Speaker: I like the balance.

Speaker: Yeah, it is good.

Speaker: I like the contrast where it's like, you know, similar to Ottawa and Tampa where one team was good and the other team not.

Speaker: And they have that dynamic going too.

Speaker: Where it's like one team immediately gets good and the other one is just bad.

Speaker: And now they have a built-in rivalry, except it's probably going to be a one-sided rivalry.

Speaker: So Seattle Kraken fans, if you're listening, I see you and I respect you.

Speaker: Yeah, I also thought they were good.

Speaker: I until I read this just now, I totally thought they were in the playoffs.

Speaker: So that's how much I pay attention to this sport right now.

Speaker: Anyway, are we moving on?

Speaker: We are moving on.

Speaker: We are moving on.

Speaker: And what's this?

Speaker: The roof is on fire?

Speaker: What?

Speaker: It really is on fire.

Speaker: Man.

Speaker: You know, it took a while.

Speaker: I thought that they were on the decline for a little while.

Speaker: And then they randomly were like, you know, playoff like favorites for the other cup favorites one year.

Speaker: Yeah, I totally in my bracket.

Speaker: I predicted them to win the cup like two years ago or something.

Speaker: I know.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: But finally they have fallen off, but they still haven't fallen off enough for it to be a real rebuild because this team is just like obsessed with mediocrity.

Speaker: I've heard from Flames fans that it's a like Flames versus Oilers kind of thing where they don't want to tank and act like the Oilers, which is an attitude that I deeply respect.

Speaker: That's a true hater.

Speaker: Yeah, I respect that actually so much.

Speaker: So congrats on the mediocrity, Calgary.

Speaker: Apparently that's what you want.

Speaker: Okay, next we have the New Jersey Devils, which, oh my gosh, I am so... Oh, what happened, New Jersey?

Speaker: What happened?

Speaker: I was told that actually, like, they were amazing and they were gonna win the cup and...

Speaker: I don't even know what else I was told.

Speaker: I was told, like, weren't they Cup favorites last year?

Speaker: Like, weren't they?

Speaker: Didn't they go on like a heat?

Speaker: They weren't Cup favorites, but like I follow a lot of New Jersey fans who thought they were.

Speaker: Didn't they go on like such a heater last season and they were like unstoppable and blah, blah, blah, all this stuff?

Speaker: I hate the New Jersey Devils because last season I was like, that should be the Sens.

Speaker: And now where are you?

Speaker: We were in a club together.

Speaker: We were all bad.

Speaker: And New Jersey had to go and screw that up by becoming good.

Speaker: So I'm so glad that they are back to being bad.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Where they deserve to be.

Speaker: No one gets good until the Sens get good.

Speaker: That is the rule that every team in the league should live by.

Speaker: Anyway, yeah, I'm so, so happy.

Speaker: Because last season, actually, New Jersey was like my most hated team.

Speaker: Because I was like, that should be the Sens.

Speaker: Like every time they won, I was like, they stole the Sens story.

Speaker: Like they stole it all.

Speaker: And they fired their coach.

Speaker: Right?

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: at some point yeah yeah i just know because of or unless there's anything more to say no except that they are actually not ahead of the sins in their rebuild they're just as bad as we are yeah and let's talk about how everyone is like oh nico he sure is better than brady kachuk or whatever like i don't even remember if that was real discourse or if i just concocted that but like whatever i'm gonna break i'm gonna bring it up now

Speaker: Yeah, weren't they like, I think that was like one person.

Speaker: This is the thing about New Jersey.

Speaker: I see one take from one person that is like, Nico Heischer's better than Brink-Chuck.

Speaker: And I'm like, the entire state of New Jersey believes that Nico Heischer is better than Brink-Chuck.

Speaker: And for that, I am their enemy.

Speaker: It's like, yeah, I don't know.

Speaker: I really don't like that.

Speaker: Me neither.

Speaker: I think there was discourse about like, Jack Hughes being better than Tim Stintzler or something.

Speaker: Oh yeah, oh my god, I totally forgot about Jack Hughes.

Speaker: How often do you think about what would have happened if that pick that the Sens gave to Colorado in 2019 as part of the Magichane trade had been first overall and Colorado had gotten Jack Hughes with the Sens pick?

Speaker: Because I think about that a lot.

Speaker: That's my thing with Jack Hughes.

Speaker: I'm like, he could have been that to the Sens.

Speaker: Like, that player that, like, they gave up the pick for him.

Speaker: Thank God, he's not.

Speaker: Like, this is the one time that I'm like, God, the Sens dodged a bullet there.

Speaker: Thank you, hockey gods.

Speaker: I actually would be so upset, like, every single day of my life.

Speaker: I feel like we would feel differently about Brady Kachuk because remember that we drafted him.

Speaker: In drafting him, we gave up the pick that could have been Jack Hughes.

Speaker: I'm sorry.

Speaker: I think about this constantly.

Speaker: Wait, was that a good move?

Speaker: It wasn't.

Speaker: That's part of... See, okay...

Speaker: Like, when people talk about how mad people were about the Brady Kachuk pick, they leave out that context.

Speaker: That the Sens could have either held on to the pick and drafted Brady Kachuk, or given the pick to Colorado and...

Speaker: kept their 2019 pick, right?

Speaker: And that's what we were angry about, that they decided to keep the pick and then made what we thought was a bad decision with it.

Speaker: It was those two decisions together that we were mad about.

Speaker: And I think that...

Speaker: Maybe we would not have been so vindicated about that if the following year the Sens had won the draft lottery because they were last overall in the league and given up Jack Hughes.

Speaker: I think we would remember things a little bit differently if that had happened.

Speaker: But because it was Bo and Byram, it's cool.

Speaker: Brady Kachuk is better.

Speaker: We're cool with Brady Kachuk.

Speaker: Oh my gosh, thank God.

Speaker: Anyway, thank you...

Speaker: I don't even know who to thank.

Speaker: Jack Hughes?

Speaker: Probably not.

Speaker: Thank you to the ball that, like, good shot of determining who picked first overall.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: It's just, it's a thing that, like, runs through my mind regularly.

Speaker: That pick really, like, when I think about the Duchesne curse, you know, that's part of it.

Speaker: That draft pick.

Speaker: How many things would have changed if they had had that traffic in 2019?

Speaker: Anyways, sorry.

Speaker: Every time Jack Hughes comes up, I think of that.

Speaker: Whoever's in the parallel universe where that happened, like, oh my god, that sucks.

Speaker: I'm so sorry.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Man.

Speaker: Shout out to the hockey gods on that one.

Speaker: Thank you so much.

Speaker: Okay, next, the Buffalo Sabres, who I was going to segue into this because they have New Jersey's old coach now, Lindy Ruff.

Speaker: Right.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Again, another team where it's like, thank you so much for being bad.

Speaker: I feel like it has saved us a lot of issues, you know?

Speaker: I would have been really, really upset if Buffalo had made the playoffs.

Speaker: Yeah, and I know tons of people are like, oh, Buffalo is all endearing because they've been bad for so long, so they're an underdog, you gotta root for them.

Speaker: No.

Speaker: They cannot be good until the Sens are good.

Speaker: They are one of few teams that I can dunk on.

Speaker: That I can say, the last time you made the playoffs, Daniel Alfredson ended your franchise.

Speaker: Like, we had a rivalry then, and we have a rivalry now.

Speaker: Yeah, like, I just think...

Speaker: like the Sens, like the Sabres, teams like this are like, they need to all be bad together.

Speaker: Cause it's not fair.

Speaker: One of them gets good and it's not the Sens.

Speaker: It's like, it's, it's the Sens who get good or again, no one.

Speaker: So thank you to the Buffalo Sabres for like adhering to the rule.

Speaker: And just for the consistency, like, it was looking like you might turn things around and then you didn't.

Speaker: And I just, I love that.

Speaker: It was awesome.

Speaker: Are we moving on to the next one?

Speaker: This one.

Speaker: Yeah, actually, like, you know, our Blorbo's in law a little bit.

Speaker: We know lots of people who love this team a lot.

Speaker: The Philadelphia Flyers.

Speaker: What happened?

Speaker: What happened was hilarious.

Speaker: But I think we should hold off on talking about what happened.

Speaker: We should.

Speaker: We should.

Speaker: They... You know what?

Speaker: Like, they were supposed to be awful.

Speaker: They decided to be kind of good.

Speaker: And they went out in the funniest way possible.

Speaker: In the most flyer's way possible.

Speaker: And I just gotta, like, tip my hat to them.

Speaker: Like, thank you so much.

Speaker: It's not even a hater's... Yeah, it's not even a hater's eulogy.

Speaker: Because...

Speaker: They are haters.

Speaker: So actually, they don't get a haters eulogy.

Speaker: They just get a eulogy.

Speaker: They get a haters salute.

Speaker: Yeah, exactly.

Speaker: Thank you for your service, Philadelphia.

Speaker: Again, it would have been a little bit embarrassing if they'd made the playoffs, but it's not like they had the long rebuild on the same time as the Sens.

Speaker: So I wouldn't have been that best.

Speaker: I would have called bad for Kodru.

Speaker: I would have been like, man.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah, that's the thing.

Speaker: Would have been that.

Speaker: Yeah, it would have been bad in that sense.

Speaker: But now we don't have to worry about it.

Speaker: So thank you.

Speaker: Next, the Minnesota Wild.

Speaker: I have literally nothing to say.

Speaker: I have no opinion on the Minnesota Wild.

Speaker: The most boring team ever.

Speaker: People call them the Minnesota Mild for a reason.

Speaker: I guess they got tired of making the playoffs and then losing in the first round or second round.

Speaker: I think it was the first round every time.

Speaker: Every single time.

Speaker: Like, are you tired of being mid yet?

Speaker: Yeah, that's another one where it's like, your brand of hockey is just boring, I think.

Speaker: Like, isn't their entire thing just based on being boring?

Speaker: Yeah, and now they have Kaprizov and don't know what to do with him.

Speaker: Oh my gosh, yeah.

Speaker: I totally forgot about that.

Speaker: Anyway.

Speaker: They don't even get a long eulogy, because who cares?

Speaker: This is the ultimate eulogy for a hater one.

Speaker: It's like, no one cares.

Speaker: That's the worst thing you can say about a team, truly.

Speaker: Nobody cares.

Speaker: And then, one that I'm so excited to get to, the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Speaker: You may notice we're not going in order anywhere.

Speaker: We're saving the best one for last.

Speaker: But yeah, Pittsburgh Penguins, I hope that this is finally it for you.

Speaker: Please, please, please, please.

Speaker: I hate teams that are good for a long time.

Speaker: And a lot of people will say, what do you have against Sidney Crosby?

Speaker: I'm just a hater.

Speaker: It's as simple as that.

Speaker: Do I need another reason?

Speaker: It's true.

Speaker: Also, but somehow I have everything against Sidney Crosby.

Speaker: And, you know, it sucks that Eric Carlson won't win the Cup, but I don't want him to win the Cup with anyone except Ottawa.

Speaker: And I believe that he will come to Ottawa at the end of his career and win the Cup with Ottawa.

Speaker: So I'm not really concerned about this.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Also, like,

Speaker: Kyle Dubas flew too close to the sun.

Speaker: Like, what happened, Kyle?

Speaker: What happened, Jason Spezza?

Speaker: I thought you guys were geniuses.

Speaker: Literally.

Speaker: They're just Sens fans.

Speaker: Maybe they did this for us.

Speaker: Maybe they are such big Sens fans that they needed to take down the Pittsburgh Penguins from the insides.

Speaker: Didn't we discuss this during the offseason when they got hired by the Penguins?

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: So thank you, Kyle Dubas and Jason Spezza.

Speaker: We see what you're doing.

Speaker: We understand.

Speaker: Other people might think you're trying to be good, but we know that just as you took down the Leafs, you will now take down the Penguins.

Speaker: It's true.

Speaker: Thank you so much.

Speaker: Shout out to those two.

Speaker: We got people on the inside.

Speaker: Truly.

Speaker: Although I can't fully appreciate it because like having Eric Carlson play on the Pittsburgh Penguins like is so awful is so mean to subject people to that that like you should be locked up for it.

Speaker: No.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Like that's cruel and unusual.

Speaker: So I don't appreciate the methods, but I do appreciate the end results, which was the Penguins finally being out of the playoffs.

Speaker: Yes, exactly.

Speaker: Finally, the evil has been defeated.

Speaker: Before we get to the one that we really want to spend time dunking on, we must quickly discuss the St.

Speaker: Louis Blues, who apparently aren't in the playoffs.

Speaker: Yeah, I have no comment on them.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: Yeah, again, the most, like, scathing criticism.

Speaker: We just don't care.

Speaker: No, yeah, literally, I have nothing to say.

Speaker: So with that, we must discuss the final team that did not make the playoffs.

Speaker: Detroit Red Wings.

Speaker: What happened?

Speaker: What happened was that?

Speaker: Okay, wait, what did happen?

Speaker: We have to go through this.

Speaker: Here's the situation.

Speaker: Detroit needed more points in their games, in their game, than Washington had in theirs because they were tied, but Washington had the tiebreaker.

Speaker: And it was the final game of the season.

Speaker: Washington was playing Philly.

Speaker: Detroit was playing the Habs, right?

Speaker: And they just needed more points.

Speaker: So basically what happened is that I think, so Detroit scored late in their game against the Habs to take it to overtime.

Speaker: So according to what they think, they are still alive at this point.

Speaker: But what they have done by taking it to overtime is I believe they have eliminated the Philadelphia Flyers.

Speaker: The Philadelphia Flyers either knew this

Speaker: and were hilarious or they did not know this because they were playing the capitals and the game was tied but they knew that they needed to win or they just were trolling so they pulled their goalie to try to either win or screw over the red wings one of these things happened because then the capitals

Speaker: scored into the empty net to win the game.

Speaker: And like immediately, like these goals happened within minutes of each other.

Speaker: It was just like top tier drama.

Speaker: Yeah, so basically it didn't, it no longer mattered what happened in the Red Wings game because the Capitals won.

Speaker: So that is how the Red Wings got eliminated is they thought they weren't eliminated, but then it didn't matter anyway.

Speaker: absolutely hilarious I love it I that was just like top tier drama and like shout out to the Flyers man like that was hilarious of them not eliminated and just I don't know yeah I don't know if it's funnier if they like found out and they were like and

Speaker: fuck Detroit and fuck the Penguins because basically if Washington won like they would clinch a playoff spot and that was it for everyone you know like that that was just how the standings had turned out at that point and so there's something very funny about the Flyers being like if we can't make the playoffs none of you can like that's what I hope it was because it's so funny but yeah other people have talked about how like

Speaker: Probably what happened is that Detroit's playoff chances all hinged on John Tortorella getting a piece of information on time.

Speaker: And it didn't happen.

Speaker: And like, you know, if one of the games had just been a little bit more delayed than the other, right?

Speaker: Like if there hadn't been a delay of...

Speaker: What was it?

Speaker: There was some kind of stoppage in the Detroit and Habs game.

Speaker: Like, if that hadn't happened, then, like, maybe the information would have reached John Tortorella on time.

Speaker: He wouldn't have pulled the goalie.

Speaker: And, like, maybe the Flyers would have won.

Speaker: It was just, it was so funny, especially because Detroit ended up winning their game, but it didn't matter.

Speaker: The other thing that's hilarious is, like, hmm, you probably could have used some points against, like, some bad team, like the Ottawa Senators probably.

Speaker: Like, too bad that you couldn't just pick up an extra point against a team like that at any point.

Speaker: Because, yeah, remember, they didn't even just need an extra point.

Speaker: They were tied, but they lost the tiebreaker.

Speaker: So, like, one extra point is all they need here.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Just an incredible end to the season.

Speaker: It made me so happy.

Speaker: I was legitimately stressed.

Speaker: The Sens were playing that night and I did not watch because I was so stressed about the possibility of Detroit making the playoffs.

Speaker: It was so awesome when they didn't.

Speaker: Everyone was celebrating, except Detroit fans, I guess.

Speaker: I also find it so hilarious that they ended the season with so many epic comeback wins that were so exciting, only for the season to end because the Flyers pulled their goalie in regulation.

Speaker: It's so awesome.

Speaker: That's why the Flyers and Sens will always be like besties or whatever.

Speaker: Like, that's why Flyers fans are my family.

Speaker: Yeah, truly.

Speaker: Like...

Speaker: Yeah, we'll always be connected, you know.

Speaker: I will always respect them.

Speaker: I will always love them.

Speaker: Unless we play them in the playoffs one day.

Speaker: But, like, what are the chances of that happening?

Speaker: But, yeah, just a wonderful end to the season.

Speaker: I also love that Detroit had this whole, like, arc of they were actually good and then they just collapsed.

Speaker: And then, like, briefly were good again.

Speaker: Very sense.

Speaker: Love to see another team do that.

Speaker: also they were straight up bad and they were getting lucky and I hate that because the Sens were good but they were getting unlucky and I just hate it when the reverse happens to other teams it's true and also oh my gosh do we even want to talk about Alex Debrinkit everyone was oh he's so good in Detroit because that's his home blah blah blah one more point one more like goal or same number of goals yeah I think it was like one or two more assists and that was it yeah hmm

Speaker: I thought that a Michigan heir would have cured him or something from being bad.

Speaker: Don't go back and listen to old podcasts where I said that he was just having a down year and would immediately jump back.

Speaker: I never said that.

Speaker: I actually thought he was bad the whole time.

Speaker: And he was.

Speaker: And there's no record of anything else being said.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: And I think that overall the lesson we can learn from this year's Eastern Conference wildcard race is that the Eastern Conference is shit.

Speaker: And the Sens can make the playoffs next year.

Speaker: Yes, they can.

Speaker: We just need a few more things to happen.

Speaker: We just need a few more teams to fall off.

Speaker: And the Sens just need to not be so, so bad.

Speaker: I don't even think we need teams to fall off.

Speaker: Like, watching those last few games...

Speaker: Like, watching those last few games, I don't think anyone wanted that playoff spot.

Speaker: Everyone was losing.

Speaker: That was really funny.

Speaker: It's actually real.

Speaker: It's like, it's so annoying because, yeah, the teams already did fall off.

Speaker: It's just, one team needed to be fine.

Speaker: Like, if the Sens were just fine, they would have made the playoffs.

Speaker: If they had had league average goaltending.

Speaker: Ugh.

Speaker: And of course, Corpo Salo does it right in the end.

Speaker: He's like a god.

Speaker: I know.

Speaker: So frustrating.

Speaker: But you know what?

Speaker: At least other teams were bad too.

Speaker: So that was our haters eulogy for all the teams that didn't make the playoffs.

Speaker: We hate them.

Speaker: We're glad they're bad.

Speaker: Thank you for making us feel better about the Sens.

Speaker: Continuing with the hater theme.

Speaker: Do you want to introduce our next topic?

Speaker: Oh my gosh, sure.

Speaker: Okay, so next we wanted to talk about the latest release from singer-songwriter Taylor Swift.

Speaker: I feel like we had to mention it at some point because we did a whole episode like a year ago that was themed around Taylor Swift songs.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: So our review of this album is... It's bad.

Speaker: It's really bad.

Speaker: Okay, yes.

Speaker: My review also, our review also, I'm going to say that this is your take, because we talked about this before recording.

Speaker: Some of the songs are not awful.

Speaker: So I'm like, there is some good still in here.

Speaker: Like she's not, like she still knows how to like write some lyrics.

Speaker: She still knows how to like, get like a good chord progression going.

Speaker: It's just, she needs to not write 31 songs.

Speaker: And release all of them.

Speaker: Taylor Swift would not survive an hour in the creative writing program that raised me.

Speaker: Oh my gosh.

Speaker: Do we want to talk about what the funniest lines are?

Speaker: Uh, sure.

Speaker: Sure.

Speaker: Okay.

Speaker: Um, so funniest or like worst lines.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Either or really.

Speaker: I mean, you've all heard the lines that people are discussing.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: I do have a hot take, which is, although I dislike the song So High School, I think it's generally a bad song.

Speaker: The line, touch me while your bros play Grand Theft Auto, is so funny that it circles around to being genius.

Speaker: And in the context of the song, I think it's great because it's delivered as a punchline.

Speaker: Like, it's good.

Speaker: I think I am with the Swifties on this one.

Speaker: That was a funny line.

Speaker: I agree.

Speaker: That's the thing.

Speaker: I think if all of her song lyrics in this one were played as a joke, it would be way better than it actually is.

Speaker: Because some of it... Did she mean you wouldn't last an hour in the asylum where they raised me as a joke?

Speaker: if so like that's really funny but if she meant that like real I'm like wait what are you talking about I think it's a comment on like fame you know and like how she grew up I got it I understood the line but it's a little funny I got it too but I'm just like if she didn't mean it as like

Speaker: look at how melodramatic I'm being, then I'm like, wait, do you know how melodramatic you're being right now?

Speaker: It's so melodramatic where I'm like, okay, if you know this, then it's fine.

Speaker: And it's like, yeah, for sure.

Speaker: But it's like, I just can't tell if she knows.

Speaker: It's like impossible to tell.

Speaker: It is.

Speaker: And, okay, my actual, the worst line that I just, like, cringe, I cannot believe she actually wrote that was the, like, a tattooed golden retriever line.

Speaker: And I think, again, the problem with that is that it's played straight.

Speaker: Like, she, like, it's supposed to, I think it's supposed to sound like a good lyric.

Speaker: And it's so bad.

Speaker: It's also, like, there's no other way to describe it.

Speaker: It's so bad.

Speaker: It's so bad.

Speaker: Like, what kind of imagery is she trying to evoke with that?

Speaker: It's so bad.

Speaker: It's also just like a lot of it, I think we talked about this, is like meme speak and like your golden retriever boyfriend, like whatever.

Speaker: It's like, okay, like, cool.

Speaker: Why did you tell us that?

Speaker: And like meme speak dates your music so quickly.

Speaker: Like there's a reason that people are still listening to Fearless in 2024.

Speaker: That's like timeless music.

Speaker: It's good music.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: People are not going to be listening to Golden Retriever Boyfriend.

Speaker: I'm down bad.

Speaker: I can fix him.

Speaker: Like, they're not going to be listening to that in a few years and thinking it's good.

Speaker: My hottest take is that I Can Fix Him No Really I Can is actually, I don't know if it's a good song, but I like that song because it's hilarious that like upon hearing the title, who would have thought that she would have brought it to like a Western saloon?

Speaker: Like, okay.

Speaker: True, it does kind of surprise you a little bit.

Speaker: Yeah, it's like, why is there like

Speaker: Why are we in the old west right now?

Speaker: It's very interesting.

Speaker: I did like, um, what was I saying?

Speaker: Because I said it before.

Speaker: Oh, I like My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys.

Speaker: That feels like vintage Taylor Swift.

Speaker: That was the first song on the album where I thought, oh, Taylor, there you are.

Speaker: Like, there we go.

Speaker: This is a Taylor Swift song.

Speaker: I still think somebody needs to go over that song with a red pen.

Speaker: As with every single song, I am like, literally, I am telling you every single song on this album, as I'm listening to it, I think about the comments I would leave if I was editing this song.

Speaker: You should not be thinking about this when you're listening to music for the first time.

Speaker: Yeah, we also talked about, okay, I think the Black Dog is, like, very good.

Speaker: It's good.

Speaker: I like that song.

Speaker: It's my favorite song on the album.

Speaker: Yeah, I would agree, I think.

Speaker: I think it's my favorite song on the album.

Speaker: But, yeah, we were talking about also, it's funny how the first thing she says is, like, you forgot to turn your location off.

Speaker: So, like, the framing of it is very, like... Like, I...

Speaker: It's like she didn't even really need to do that.

Speaker: It's like she could have just said that she's there.

Speaker: Like she didn't have to be like, you're there and you know how I know?

Speaker: Like you forgot to turn your location on.

Speaker: That's her problem in this album is that she's so literal.

Speaker: Like she has to explain everything.

Speaker: And sometimes good songwriting means leaving out the lyrics like you forgot to turn your location on so that people can, you know, fill in the gaps a bit.

Speaker: Yeah, that's the thing.

Speaker: There are no gaps.

Speaker: Oh my god, everything is filled in.

Speaker: I liked also the manuscript.

Speaker: I thought the manuscript was good.

Speaker: I haven't listened to that since the first time.

Speaker: Part of the issue is that she released, whatever, 15 more songs after the fact, and then a lot of them sound really similar.

Speaker: So it's really hard to distinguish them.

Speaker: And they're all kind of slow ballads, but there's some good in there.

Speaker: So I'm going to re-listen to that part, because I think there's some good songs hidden.

Speaker: Mm-hmm.

Speaker: They're so wordy.

Speaker: That's the thing.

Speaker: I actually listen to music while doing schoolwork, even music with lyrics.

Speaker: And usually what I do is I listen to a whole album because the songs sound kind of similar.

Speaker: But I tried to do this with this album and they were so wordy that I was like, I couldn't do it because there's no good melody or instrumentals to focus on.

Speaker: It's just words.

Speaker: And I feel like I need to be paying attention to the words.

Speaker: The words aren't that good either.

Speaker: Yeah, it's just like she just monologues for like two hours.

Speaker: Again, I think if it, like, people are like, oh, like, she's, like, like, she's a good, she's talented and stuff.

Speaker: So, like, people are overblowing it and being like, oh, like, she's never good.

Speaker: Like, it's so bad.

Speaker: It's all the same all the time, blah, blah, blah.

Speaker: Like, no, she's put out good music in the past.

Speaker: And, like, there's, like, you can tell that there's good music hidden in here.

Speaker: It's just, I think she is being surrounded by yes men.

Speaker: We're just, like, everything you're doing is perfect and we don't need to change anything.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah, it's also just getting too self-referential.

Speaker: It's very MC.

Speaker: Very, like, look at all the Easter eggs we've hidden.

Speaker: And it's like, okay, but you forgot to make a movie, right?

Speaker: Like, Taylor, you forgot to make an album.

Speaker: You forgot to make music.

Speaker: It's just lore.

Speaker: It's just Taylor Swift content right now.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: And that's the thing.

Speaker: Some, like, hardcore Swifties were like, oh, like, most, like, the general public won't understand.

Speaker: And it's like,

Speaker: Yeah, but like this is pop music from like the most listened to artists in the world.

Speaker: It's like if you need to like go on like Tumblr explainers of like Maddie Healy and like Karlie Kloss to understand all of this, then like that's not like a good thing.

Speaker: Also, okay, here's my, like, one of my biggest problems with the album is, like we said, it's all lore.

Speaker: It's all you need to understand everything that has happened in Taylor Swift's life in the last two years to understand this.

Speaker: It's all like she's, she's telling the story of all of these, you know, relationships and these things that have happened to her and...

Speaker: pouring out her heart and yet so much of the content of the album is her saying I hate being famous I hate how invasive my fans are I hate that you know I have all this pressure on me I hate that my fans try to you know dictate every aspect of my life it's like girl what is it like you're giving your fans all of this all of these details about your life and then saying oh god I hate how invasive they are like

Speaker: Then write fiction.

Speaker: Go write a musical.

Speaker: Go write about other people instead of writing about yourself if you hate that.

Speaker: Oh yeah, our conclusion that we came to was that she needs to write a musical.

Speaker: Because I think when she's projecting emotions onto characters, that's when she's at her best.

Speaker: Exactly, and she can talk about her own emotions through characters.

Speaker: That's what everyone does as a Broadway fan.

Speaker: I want Taylor Swift to write a musical.

Speaker: I think if she partnered with actual musical writers and they wrote a good musical, she could challenge herself to write something different from what she's been doing.

Speaker: She could get outside her head and she could also change musical theatre for the better.

Speaker: Because definitely if Taylor Swift wrote a musical, we would no longer have to rely on bootlegs.

Speaker: We would get actual pro shot shows that would be available on streaming platforms.

Speaker: So that is my recommendation to Taylor Swift.

Speaker: I hope she listens to this.

Speaker: Yeah, I agree.

Speaker: I agree with all of it.

Speaker: Anyway, in inclusion, it's like a

Speaker: four out of ten album, maybe?

Speaker: That's the thing.

Speaker: It's like, if you take up all the bad songs, then it's good.

Speaker: There are some songs where I like parts of them.

Speaker: Or some songs like Clara Bow, I thought this could be a really powerful closer to a different album.

Speaker: To an album that explores these themes better and has a different sound to it.

Speaker: But on its own, it just gets drowned out in all of the music that sounds like it.

Speaker: You know?

Speaker: So we just needed to make it clear to our fans that although we have previously expressed appreciation for Taylor Swift's music on this podcast, don't lump us in with the people who love this album.

Speaker: No judgment to the people who do.

Speaker: We needed to make it clear.

Speaker: We're not that Taylor Swift-filled.

Speaker: That's so funny.

Speaker: Some of my dearest friends love this album.

Speaker: Yeah, same.

Speaker: You are the company you keep.

Speaker: But also it's just like, it's fun to talk about why this album is bad.

Speaker: There are so few pop culture moments these days that we all share, you know?

Speaker: Like everyone has their own things that they like and we're not all watching the same things or listening to the same music.

Speaker: And Taylor Swift is one of the few exceptions to that where we're all listening to her music.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Exactly.

Speaker: Like that's what's so interesting is like there is like

Speaker: just so crazy how dominant she is like i feel like people have obviously discussed it at length but it's like whoa like actually i can't believe this is happening now where it's like so much like you said of pop culture is so fragmented where it's like how like that's like powerful like whoa like everyone is listening to this album and everyone has a take on the album even people who hate taylor swift like they listen to the leaks and hate it on the album all the same which honestly

Speaker: I respect it.

Speaker: Again, it's just discourse.

Speaker: It's stuff that you want to talk about with people.

Speaker: It's interesting.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: And because of them, I knew that... Okay, I may have listened to the leaks.

Speaker: I'm going to get cancelled by Swifties.

Speaker: But when I listened to the leaks, my first thought was that I was being trolled and I was listening to an AI album.

Speaker: And...

Speaker: thanks to all the other people who listened to the album and the people who leaked it and confirms that it was actually the real album, I found out that no, Taylor Swift did actually write those songs.

Speaker: I just, the title track is so bad, guys.

Speaker: It's so bad.

Speaker: It's one of the worst songs I, oh my God.

Speaker: That's so funny.

Speaker: Yeah, that's the thing.

Speaker: I think in almost every song though, there's like at least one part where I'm like, oh, okay.

Speaker: like I this is fine not in Georgia Poets Department no throw it all in the trash every other song I'm like okay here's how we could turn this into a good song that title track no no I never want to hear it again scrap it it's so bad it's so funny um anyway yeah that's our take on the new album

Speaker: I hope she just takes a break to collect her... Because you can't produce this much music and have everything be amazing.

Speaker: It's impossible.

Speaker: Because it's also like this was all basically written alone or with one other person.

Speaker: It's like... Sometimes you need more ideas in the room.

Speaker: And people being like, ooh, I don't actually know about that.

Speaker: Yes, even the greatest artists in the world need good editors.

Speaker: Nobody is above needing an editor.

Speaker: And Taylor Swift is no exception there.

Speaker: She really needs an editor.

Speaker: And that's not a knock on her songwriting skills.

Speaker: It's just everybody needs one.

Speaker: So anyways, if this ends up being the last episode of our podcast, just know that the Swifties got to us.

Speaker: If our social media accounts magically disappear, just know it wasn't us.

Speaker: It was the Swifties.

Speaker: They found us.

Speaker: And yeah, if this is if this is the end.

Speaker: Yeah, this is our last message to the world.

Speaker: We had to say this before before they canceled us.

Speaker: Oh, my gosh.

Speaker: OK, I think is that everything we wanted to talk about for the album?

Speaker: OK, so that is our take.

Speaker: Next, we can return to hockey.

Speaker: And talk about the Stanley Cup playoffs, which are happening despite the fact that the most important team isn't there.

Speaker: I can't believe it.

Speaker: It's really disrespectful, I think.

Speaker: Yeah, it's very rude.

Speaker: It's still going on.

Speaker: But we can still hate on the teams.

Speaker: That's what's good.

Speaker: Even though it's happening, we can still be haters about it.

Speaker: It's like the silver lining in it.

Speaker: That's what's so beautiful about sports.

Speaker: There are always teams to hate on, you know?

Speaker: Yeah, it's true.

Speaker: I really appreciate that.

Speaker: Anyway, so we thought we would give you our haters guide to the playoffs.

Speaker: And I think just basically say out of every matchup who we want to lose.

Speaker: So the first one is pretty easy.

Speaker: Dallas versus Vegas.

Speaker: Obviously, we want Vegas to lose.

Speaker: Yeah, although honestly, this stuff is getting so intense that I'm almost circling around to like, no, Vegas, they're underdogs.

Speaker: They're like, they're the kind of underground sleeper pick, actually, because, and the whole world is against them.

Speaker: You know what?

Speaker: I don't care that they circumvent the cap.

Speaker: It's none of my business.

Speaker: As long as the Leafs don't do it, I don't care.

Speaker: That's so funny.

Speaker: Yeah, that's the thing.

Speaker: I think it's just like I didn't like them for so long because of their social media manager.

Speaker: But now I'm not really on Twitter anymore and I don't really see the social media manager tweets.

Speaker: So I'm kind of just like, eh, whatever.

Speaker: Like, there are worse villains.

Speaker: So... So yeah, I still don't like them though.

Speaker: I still pick Dallas.

Speaker: Still hoping Vegas wins, mostly because they just won the cup.

Speaker: And also because they got Pierre Dernion fired.

Speaker: And I'll never forgive them for that.

Speaker: That's the one crime they have committed.

Speaker: Yeah, they did a witch hunt against him.

Speaker: Oh, terrible.

Speaker: I was on their side until...

Speaker: That happens.

Speaker: I still wasn't, but it still sucks that it happened.

Speaker: I wanted them to win the cup in their first year because what I said at the time was this is the closest we could ever get to nobody winning the cup.

Speaker: That's so funny.

Speaker: I was like, who gives a fuck if Vegas wins?

Speaker: They don't have fans.

Speaker: Nobody will be happy if they win.

Speaker: Yeah, now everyone... It's because, like, they are so annoying.

Speaker: It's, like, very easy for them to be just a common enemy.

Speaker: Yeah, it's, like, they've stolen everyone's favorite player.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Not just in the expansion draft and their stupid-ass traits.

Speaker: Yeah, oh my gosh.

Speaker: It's, like, they have everything.

Speaker: They give, like, rich kid vibes.

Speaker: So, because of that...

Speaker: But then it's like people always say, oh, you need to suffer.

Speaker: Your fan base needs to suffer more for me to want you to win.

Speaker: But the thing is, the more the fan base suffers, the less I want them to win.

Speaker: Because I'm like, you don't get to have good things.

Speaker: Like, you'll actually appreciate this win if you suffer a lot.

Speaker: So it's kind of the reverse of what people say.

Speaker: If a team hasn't suffered much, I'm like, yeah, whatever.

Speaker: You win the cup.

Speaker: As long as every other team is miserable.

Speaker: Like, I don't give a shit if you keep on winning.

Speaker: That's why I rooted for Tampa in the past.

Speaker: Because it's like, I don't care.

Speaker: Just keep winning over and over again.

Speaker: Like, whatever.

Speaker: Who cares?

Speaker: But if a team with a long drought wins, that's going to be a big deal.

Speaker: And then I'm going to be mad.

Speaker: Yeah, that's the thing.

Speaker: It's like, we need to...

Speaker: You know, like, that concept where it's like the greatest good for the greatest many, we need like the reverse of that, where it's like we need the least amount of good for the fewest amount of people just because it's like, then it's fine.

Speaker: It's like, if the same people keep winning, then it's like no new stories, like no one really cares that much.

Speaker: But like, like we were saying, like, if like Buffalo makes the playoffs, if Detroit makes the playoffs, like all of a sudden, it's like, wait, no, you should have been bad like us.

Speaker: Yeah, exactly.

Speaker: So this is levels of hating that, you know, the general public can't quite comprehend.

Speaker: No, yeah.

Speaker: Like, you need to, like, have a degree in this.

Speaker: Yeah, exactly.

Speaker: So I would say still, okay, I don't want Vegas, I mean, I don't want Dallas to win the Cup, but I do still want them to win this series because I think it would be funny if Vegas lost.

Speaker: Are there teams that want to lose That I think Vegas would have No no no That's also what you have to consider Sometimes you want the better team To make it to the second round So they can play a team that you don't like That's true

Speaker: But no, I think it would be funny if Vegas lost in the first round.

Speaker: Yeah, I just want to... But there's so many Canadian teams, and I am a Canadian team hater.

Speaker: I mean, no, no, there's one we'll get to.

Speaker: But, you know, I don't want other Canadian fans to be happy.

Speaker: It's the same thing.

Speaker: It's like, I don't want any other Canadian team to be the one to break the drought, you know?

Speaker: Yeah, exactly.

Speaker: In the drought, other than Sens.

Speaker: So I need the Canadian teams to lose, and, like, maybe we need Vegas in the second round to make that happen.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah, maybe.

Speaker: Like, maybe we need to use them to, like, as a proxy.

Speaker: We're still saying to root against Vegas, but we're thinking, we're just saying to be more strategic about it.

Speaker: Mm-hmm.

Speaker: Like, long-term.

Speaker: Mm-hmm.

Speaker: So Vegas, but not as, we're not as big haters as everyone else is.

Speaker: Exactly.

Speaker: Yeah, that's the official hater guide to this one.

Speaker: so the winner of that series will play the winner of winnipeg versus colorado and i have already made my stance on canadian teams clear yeah i also really don't like colorado though but like whatever like they also won recently yeah they just won so like let them win again gives a shit yeah

Speaker: I really don't have any takes on either of those teams, actually.

Speaker: I don't like Colorado because I don't like Kel McCarr for some reason.

Speaker: I literally don't remember why.

Speaker: I don't like Nathan McHugh.

Speaker: understandable and you know winnipeg i feel like i hate them less than other canadian teams um yeah i you know it's a wholesome story and everything but if we go back to things we were talking about earlier winnipeg is having some attendance issues and that draws attention away from the sends attendance issues so maybe we need to continue but also it's like i actually can't really root for that because i genuinely feel bad for people in winnipeg

Speaker: who can't afford to go to games and now are like you know having to stress about their team potentially relocating yeah yeah that's actually like I don't really like other Canadian teams for obvious reasons but like actually Winnipeg I'm like why I feel like they're our allies I think it's like the Dylan DeMello of it all yeah so I think

Speaker: I don't know who to root for, or rather who to root against in this one.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: I think my take is that I will root against Colorado, but if no one does the same, I'm like, yeah, I actually, like, it's whatever.

Speaker: Like, if you need to root against Winnipeg, if someone else is like, I don't care about any of this, that's so fair.

Speaker: This one's like, you pick.

Speaker: Like, it doesn't really matter.

Speaker: And it's like, whichever team wins this series, I'll probably end up rooting for in the next round, because they'll be playing either Dallas or Vegas.

Speaker: So, like...

Speaker: Yeah, this one... Yeah, so maybe going back to that first one, we don't need Vegas to win, because I'm going to want them to lose in the second round.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: So, like, this one, I guess... This one's a, like, you pick.

Speaker: This one's a choose-your-own-adventure.

Speaker: The rest, we will dictate who you need to want to lose.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Alright.

Speaker: Next one we have...

Speaker: Oh, this one might be tricky.

Speaker: Vancouver versus Nashville.

Speaker: I mean, I think we're not being haters this time.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: I think, well, I want Vancouver to win because I have, like, we've both had history with Vancouver for better or for worse.

Speaker: I like to say I am, what was it?

Speaker: I was raised a Canucks fan.

Speaker: I'm culturally a Canucks fan, but non-practicing.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: I would be a little bit annoyed if people in my family got to celebrate the Canucks winning before I got to celebrate the Sens winning.

Speaker: However, if the Canucks make a run of it, I will go back to being a Canucks fan and everyone needs to pretend that I was always a Canucks fan.

Speaker: If you can all just like be cool with that.

Speaker: Because I do have pictures of myself at like 11 years old in Canucks merch.

Speaker: So I feel like I'm allowed.

Speaker: I took a break from being a Canucks fan, but who's to say that I can't just start up again?

Speaker: I know what's going on with them.

Speaker: But the other thing is that I'll be like, why couldn't it be the Sens?

Speaker: And again, it's like, do we really want a Canadian team to win the cup before the Sens?

Speaker: Yeah, I think I want...

Speaker: You know what?

Speaker: For this one, I'm actually good with anything happening again.

Speaker: I know that that's like a cop-out and like whatever, but like I'm okay with it for different reasons.

Speaker: The last one I was okay with it because I was like, I actually don't really care that much.

Speaker: Like I hate Colorado for random reasons, but like in general, I actually don't care.

Speaker: This one I'm like, Vancouver wins, like yay, because I like no Canucks fans and like I was a Canucks fan and all this stuff.

Speaker: If Nashville wins, it's like yay because Canadian team isn't going to win or like one less Canadian team.

Speaker: It's very win-win, you know?

Speaker: Yeah, so again, this one, just like whichever one you want to go with more.

Speaker: Yeah, the Kinect is interesting though, because like I actually, like Thatcher Demko is out now, so like it might be over faster than we anticipated.

Speaker: I mean, I've been calling them PDO merchants this whole year.

Speaker: So I think I know what's going to happen.

Speaker: The next one might be controversial.

Speaker: Edmonton versus LA.

Speaker: We've made our stance clear.

Speaker: But also last year we had Oily Gifts on the podcast to talk about forming an alliance.

Speaker: But even then, you know what?

Speaker: Oily Gifts would not want us to bandwagon Edmonton.

Speaker: She wants Edmonton to be underdogs.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: So I think if she's listening, which I think she is, she usually listens.

Speaker: Shout out to Oily Gifts.

Speaker: I think she's going to be okay with us saying,

Speaker: we're rooting for LA in this series.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: But like, take this to mean like everyone's against Edmonton.

Speaker: No one believes in them.

Speaker: Oh my gosh.

Speaker: Like if they win, that'll be like, everyone will be wrong.

Speaker: And whoever rooted for them will be vindicated.

Speaker: Exactly.

Speaker: That's how we're rooting against Edmonton.

Speaker: So we love you, oily gifts.

Speaker: Keep doing your thing.

Speaker: I love your tweets.

Speaker: I will continue to live vicariously through you, but I am rooting against your team.

Speaker: It's not personal.

Speaker: It's just, I don't want another Canadian team to win the cup before this ends.

Speaker: And now if Edmonton wins the cup, you get to know that we will be so upset.

Speaker: We will be so upset if this happens.

Speaker: Okay, next, Florida-Tampa.

Speaker: I don't care.

Speaker: They are the same team in my opinion.

Speaker: See, I can't muster up a lot of hater energy for this year's playoffs compared to past years.

Speaker: So I would say, again, maybe I'm rooting for Tampa because I just want the same teams to win over and over again until the Sens win.

Speaker: Also, it would just be really annoying if Matthew won the cup before Brady.

Speaker: So leaning towards Tampa.

Speaker: Yeah, like Tampa, but like

Speaker: Again, it's like, whatever.

Speaker: Like, I watched like this game last night or whatever.

Speaker: And like, Florida won in overtime and I felt nothing.

Speaker: I was like, I actually don't care about this at all.

Speaker: Yeah, the only thing I do care about is which team has a better chance of beating the Leafs if it comes down to that.

Speaker: And I feel like probably Florida, because Tampa, like fucking Tampa, they look so washed.

Speaker: The last two years, I've been like, what are you even doing in the playoffs?

Speaker: You can't even like stand on two feet right now.

Speaker: So maybe, you know, the extra long offseason last year might have helped.

Speaker: I haven't watched the games enough.

Speaker: Maybe that's the thing.

Speaker: I need to start tuning in just to see which team has the better chance of beating the Leafs.

Speaker: But, like, Florida beat the Leafs last year and Tampa didn't.

Speaker: So maybe Florida.

Speaker: Yeah, maybe.

Speaker: That's the thing.

Speaker: It's like, yeah, it is very much coming down to, like, who will get the job done against the Maple Leafs if it comes to it.

Speaker: And yeah, I don't know how Tampa- like, what we were saying earlier is like how I like was saying like we just need a couple more teams to fall off for the Suns to make the playoffs.

Speaker: Tampa has fallen off.

Speaker: Like, I don't know why they're here.

Speaker: It's so annoying.

Speaker: So actually, yeah, I'm rooting for Florida.

Speaker: I mean, this is win-win.

Speaker: Either way, there is something good here.

Speaker: But I think like Tampa just just fucking go away already.

Speaker: Just get swept.

Speaker: Miss the playoffs next year.

Speaker: Like, you're done.

Speaker: You gave the Leafs a playoff series win.

Speaker: That is inexcusable.

Speaker: You should be kicked out of the playoffs forever for doing that.

Speaker: Yeah, actually, like, lost in this is like, yeah, I can't believe they did that to us.

Speaker: God, they betrayed me in such a big way.

Speaker: It's just, I've cheered for Tampa so many times over the last few years because they keep playing the Leafs and then they also played the Hobbs in the final that one year.

Speaker: So, yeah.

Speaker: But I still don't like them.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: So I guess, is our pick, haters' pick is Florida?

Speaker: Yeah, haters' pick is Florida.

Speaker: But if Tampa wins, they better just win the cup.

Speaker: Like, I don't need them to play the Leafs and lose if it comes to that.

Speaker: Like, I will hate them so much.

Speaker: Mm-hmm, mm-hmm.

Speaker: And then, so that leads us to our next one, which is truly just lose-lose, because I want both of these teams to lose.

Speaker: Boston versus Toronto.

Speaker: Although, even then, like, oh, I want both of them to lose.

Speaker: Fuck Toronto.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: For personal reasons, I have been...

Speaker: Needing to pretend I want Toronto to win in like my personal life and it is taking a lot out of me and I don't want it to happen and I am trying to jinx them at every turn.

Speaker: I was watching the game with Toronto fans the other day and I was like pretending to be a fan because I was like, or not a fan, but I was like, oh like yeah I want Toronto to win.

Speaker: I don't, I promise.

Speaker: But I was, like, trying so hard to jinx them by, like, lying about it.

Speaker: I was, like, when it came to, like, a minute left or something and they were up by one, I was, like, oh, it's over.

Speaker: And they were, like, why would you say that?

Speaker: Like, no, it's not.

Speaker: And I was, like, oh, sorry.

Speaker: Like, I didn't mean to.

Speaker: So...

Speaker: I love that you have such a different approach to this, whereas when I'm surrounded by Habs fans, like, I am making it known who I'm cheering for.

Speaker: Like, the amount of PWHL Montreal games, not even involving Ottawa, I've been to and been straight up, like, I am cheering for the other team right now, and I need everyone to know this.

Speaker: That's so funny.

Speaker: But yeah, not, like...

Speaker: I need Toronto to lose.

Speaker: I need it so bad.

Speaker: It would be so funny if after finally slaying the dragon last year, you know, making all these changes in the front office, they just lost, went right back to losing in the first round.

Speaker: Yeah, I would be a huge fan of it.

Speaker: Because then it's like your biggest accomplishment is winning one round.

Speaker: Hilarious.

Speaker: Like one round, one time.

Speaker: That would be so funny.

Speaker: So good.

Speaker: The game one reactions by Leafs fans were so funny.

Speaker: They were like, oh my gosh.

Speaker: Now, of course, everyone's like, Marner, he's invisible.

Speaker: Amazing.

Speaker: Yeah, and obviously, we will be rooting against Boston in the second round.

Speaker: But I don't know.

Speaker: I don't really care that much about Boston anymore.

Speaker: It's like, they're just annoying.

Speaker: It's one of those teams where it's like, why are you still here?

Speaker: Like, just please just stop.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: my thing is that I won't hate Boston more if they win the cup like I'm like I'm at my limit basically yeah exactly and like I don't think my life would be that much more difficult if they won the cup whereas it's like if the Leafs win the cup like oh man it'd be terrible the thing I wonder if it'd be funny to get like a Vancouver Boston rematch that'd be interesting a lot of people have been talking about that

Speaker: That would be incredible.

Speaker: Both cities would burn down before game one.

Speaker: Exactly.

Speaker: But yeah, anyway, all this to say, of course we want Toronto to lose.

Speaker: Yeah, that's a no-brainer.

Speaker: And everyone should be rooting against Toronto.

Speaker: So many memes are like, oh, the hockey world is coming together to root against Vegas.

Speaker: What is happening?

Speaker: What are you talking about?

Speaker: We are coming together to root against Toronto.

Speaker: That is what everybody does.

Speaker: That is what we always do.

Speaker: At least in Canada, we do that.

Speaker: But some of these Americans just don't, for some reason, don't hate the Leafs as much as they should.

Speaker: Yeah, which I don't understand.

Speaker: Because it's like,

Speaker: In no way are you like, oh, Boston is as bad as Toronto.

Speaker: I think it's just because they don't get the media coverage.

Speaker: The Canadian media coverage is just so unbearable.

Speaker: Yeah, way too many people who are fans of other teams have a soft spot for the Leafs.

Speaker: That should never happen.

Speaker: The Leafs should be either your favorite team or your least favorite team.

Speaker: No in-between.

Speaker: Exactly.

Speaker: And that's the thing.

Speaker: It's because like they have like their meow meows.

Speaker: They have like Mitch Marner, all this.

Speaker: I saw an edit of Mitch Marner to I Can Do It With A Broken Heart on TikTok.

Speaker: Yeah, and, like, that's what it is.

Speaker: It's, like, they got, like, cute boys on the team, which is, like, not, that's not to be, like, oh, like, girls only watch hockey for cute boys.

Speaker: It's very much, like, there's good narratives happening, and, like, a lot of people can get into hockey that way.

Speaker: And I admit, like, there's great narratives on the Leafs, but, like, I want all of them to end in sorrow.

Speaker: Like, I don't want them to end in happiness.

Speaker: Yeah, exactly.

Speaker: If any of those players want to be happy, they should go to another team.

Speaker: The next series to preview is New York Rangers versus Washington Capitals.

Speaker: That should be fun.

Speaker: I've got some narratives.

Speaker: I'm kind of loving the whole Washington narrative right now, even though they are down to nothing in their series.

Speaker: I'm probably going to get swept because they're shit.

Speaker: But it's like...

Speaker: They were so bad and they just kind of accidentally ended up in the playoffs.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: It's interesting to me.

Speaker: I think it's funny.

Speaker: I think I want Washington to do well just because like Washington fans, everyone is like, why are they here?

Speaker: Like, and you said on Twitter, I will quote Beata from Twitter.

Speaker: It was like, imagine like what's happening with Washington is like if instead of on the Sens Hamburger run, they just like won a bunch of games, like everyone else just collapsed around them.

Speaker: And like, that's what happened to Washington.

Speaker: I think that's interesting.

Speaker: I think it's very cool.

Speaker: Yeah, well, because Washington was posting that they had, like, what was a 4% chance of making the playoffs in January.

Speaker: And for the record, the Hamburglar era Sens overcame a much, like, worse deficit than that.

Speaker: It was, like, 1%.

Speaker: But still.

Speaker: And so they said, oh, they had, like, a 4% chance of making the playoffs and they still made it.

Speaker: Then I was like, but you didn't win a lot of games.

Speaker: So how did this happen?

Speaker: And it's just that every other team collapsed and they're just kind of...

Speaker: kept going, you know?

Speaker: And somehow ended up in the playoffs.

Speaker: Which is hilarious.

Speaker: Thanks to Philadelphia.

Speaker: It's awesome.

Speaker: So, yeah.

Speaker: Should be fun.

Speaker: I'm all in on the Capitals.

Speaker: I hope to make it far, it would be hilarious.

Speaker: Shout out Joe.

Speaker: Not a fan, Joe.

Speaker: Who's the most famous Capitals fan.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: The creator of our logo.

Speaker: Don't ever forget that.

Speaker: Icon.

Speaker: Truly, truly an icon.

Speaker: The ending was like a really like interesting note.

Speaker: It was just the series.

Speaker: I really don't care about it all.

Speaker: Carolina, New York Islanders.

Speaker: I didn't even know the Islanders were in the playoffs.

Speaker: What are they doing here?

Speaker: Like Islanders just fall off already.

Speaker: You're so boring.

Speaker: You've been so mid for so long.

Speaker: Like just stop.

Speaker: Yeah.

Speaker: Yeah, also, like, yesterday, I think a bunch of them, like, not a bunch, sorry, but I think, like, some fans are trying to, like, dox the Carolina social media manager.

Speaker: Like, this is just, like, a, like, why is this happening?

Speaker: Like, I just don't understand this dynamic, and I don't care about either team.

Speaker: I know.

Speaker: Carolina, it's like, if they win the Cup, I won't really care.

Speaker: But it's also funny that they keep going into the playoffs as favorites and then collapsing.

Speaker: When that happens to teams, I don't want them to overcome it.

Speaker: I want it to keep happening.

Speaker: Because, again, I don't want other teams to have that fun narrative of overcoming adversity.

Speaker: I only want the Sens to have narratives like that.

Speaker: So I want them to just continue to be miserable.

Speaker: Yeah, exactly.

Speaker: Like, I want everything to stay status quo.

Speaker: Like, I want time to freeze until the Sens are ready to make the playoffs.

Speaker: Yeah, I want hockey to be so boring, so uninteresting, so devoid of narratives that nobody will ever want to watch it until the Sens come in and make hockey worth watching.

Speaker: Exactly.

Speaker: So with all that said, I'm still rooting for Carolina in this series because New York just New York Islanders, they just piss me off.

Speaker: I don't want them to be here.

Speaker: I don't understand what they are.

Speaker: I don't understand their vibe.

Speaker: And I'm afraid I fear what I do not know.

Speaker: So I want Carolina to win.

Speaker: Exactly.

Speaker: So that was our haters guide to the playoffs.

Speaker: And that is also it for this episode.

Speaker: As always, follow us on Twitter or Blue Sky.

Speaker: And...

Speaker: There might actually be something PWHL Ottawa related featuring me happening soon, but I can't say too much because we don't know if they're going to make the playoffs yet.

Speaker: So stay tuned for things like that.

Speaker: Bye.

Speaker: Bye.

Speaker: Hello, this is at Erickson's Burner editing this.

Speaker: I realized we forgot something very, very important.

Speaker: So I just wanted to give this message now.

Speaker: I'm so sorry to those we've disappointed, but I just wanted to say, go Sens go.

Speaker: Bye.
