Las Vegas Raiders Drama: Devontae Adams' Future

00:00:34
Speaker
Heemie76 bringing us into episode number 194 of Straight to the Point. My name is Chris here. My God, J-dub. Yo, what's going on? What's going on? What's going on? You know what's going on. We got to talk about what's not going on, which is the Raiders not treating Devontae Adams so far. We'll talk about Robert Sava getting shown the door and escorted out by security.
00:00:58
Speaker
And we'll talk about some NFL coaches who may be on the hot seat. And if they don't win this weekend, whose seats are getting increasingly hotter, but Jared, let's start in Vegas where you're headquartered. Let's talk about your surrogate team, the Las Vegas Raiders and the drama and the issues going on surrounding Devontae Adams. Will he stay? Will he go?
00:01:25
Speaker
Do they want him? Do they not want him? Jared, what are you hearing? And what do you think is gonna end up happening between the Raiders and Adams? I don't know if he's gonna get traded. I don't see it happening with the two list team that he has out there. like The rumor of the two list team he has out there, which he's only he's only looking to play for his previous quarterbacks, which is their car in the Saints. I don't see the Saints training for him.
00:01:50
Speaker
or the Jets where Roger and I don't see the Jets trading for him because like the Jets got their own internal things. They literally just fired the head coach, which confuses me. um and So they got their own turmoil going on.
00:02:05
Speaker
If you're the Raiders, you don't make a trade that's not going to benefit you just to get Devontae Anzana to make him happy. right You just don't do that. You're paying the man. Either he's going to come back and play or he's going to sit and do the same thing. Somebody's doing it and get that game check fine. That's really the best sort of action if you're the Raiders you have.

Raiders' Struggles: Quarterback and Offensive Line Issues

00:02:23
Speaker
Because you have to get some type of value back for a star player in Adams who still plays like a star player. He's not even a question of what he does. He is. He's still a star player.
00:02:31
Speaker
Yeah, I get it from Adam's perspective. Your team has the workings of being a very good team, yet you guys play down in your competition. You sometimes play up to your teams, but it's based on your quarterback playing. Your quarterbacks are garbage. Like he's like, your, your quarterback room is terrible. So with that being said now, Adam's gonna see the writing on the wall.
00:02:53
Speaker
with this team that's supposed to be competitive? No, they're they're going for a QB. That's what they have to do. They missed out on, they whiffed on the last year's draft, not getting a QB, which they couldn't do. like they just nobody There's no wiggle room. Teams dr drafted high for quarterbacks. Players that they wanted were taken in the spots that we predict they were gonna get taken. There was just no room for them to get a quarterback. They got a promising piece. And Brock Bowers, I think that man's an offensive threat. He is gifted.
00:03:21
Speaker
but you need a quarterback and now you're going to have to find a friend's quarterback in this draft. And not only that, and not only that, right? You talk about a team like the Raiders who needed a quarterback. I'm not even begrudging because all the quarterbacks went ahead of them, even Bo Nicks, like six quarterbacks went ahead of them. So they take Bowers, but the thing is they have a suspect offensive line. They, they have a solid defense, but their offense sputters because it's, it's a below average O-line and below average quarterback play. So it doesn't matter if you have weapons like Bowers or Adams or anybody, it doesn't matter. If your line can't protect your quarterback and your quarterback play a subpar, you're going to have, you know, you're going to have a below average team overall, unless you have like the two thousands Ravens defense, like you have no margin for error. And it's bad. And you have a basically a first year head coach in Antonio Pierce dealing with these issues and you like it.
00:04:21
Speaker
It's a lot. It's a lot to go here. And so you see why Devontae Adams was kind of being like, you know what? I came here to play with Derek Carr. They they moved their car. The Raiders did this. The Raiders moved car fired. McDaniels did all this stuff. We know the story. And now Devontae stuck like, yo, like you you got me, you got Gardner Minshew and or Aiden O'Connell. And it is starting by the way this week. aid is starting Exactly. So you got Aiden O'Connell and like Yeah. All right. Come on, man. Like it doesn't, and it doesn't really matter that that they're feeding him, you know, they're going to feed them targets. And so what, but like, I don't even think he, like, get me, get me out of here. Get me, get me off, getting me off the ship.
00:05:07
Speaker
And the eclipse of this O-line is even more worse. Even worse. It's it's is that bad because you're no longer saved by the bell cow that was Josh Jacobs. Because there's plays where Josh Jacobs was just elite where that O-line didn't matter. like If you have an elite running back, you're moving through the sticks regardless, right? We've seen it before with Saikon and the Giants. Seen it with Josh Jacobs. Now you're replaced by Zamir Wyatt, who I like. i just he But he needs to benefit from a good O-line. You just don't have it.
00:05:34
Speaker
And if your running backs can't produce in between the lines, your quarterback's going to be just back. And now you're always fighting uphill battle. And Zamir White has ah is almost been supplanted and so in a couple of ways by Alexander Madison. Because he got supplanted in Minnesota by Tatia. You know what I'm saying? ah you got You got reach threads. And I don't mean that in a derogatory way. But you got a guy who came from another team, got supplanted in other ways.
00:06:00
Speaker
But it it doesn't matter. At the end of the day, if if the Raiders have subpar offensive line play, subpar quarterback play, their ah offense is going to be you know average at best.

Potential Teams for Devontae Adams

00:06:14
Speaker
So now we're sitting here talking about, OK, well, why would they why wouldn't they move to Vontag? You have an asset. You have to be careful with an asset that you know it doesn't want to be there. He's set up the last couple of games with a hamstring injury.
00:06:30
Speaker
There's some rumors about whether or not a legitimate injury. I think it is. Yeah, I mean, I had no way to say otherwise. I have to tell you, yeah, yeah what about you can do, but you got you got some, you know, you got this Antonio Pierce thing and maybe he's lost the volunteer and.
00:06:49
Speaker
but she has like, you know what I mean? You never really even had them when you got the interim job because the team was just so bad, but they already did that. They already, they already kind of soured it with Derek Carr. Yeah. Like I don't know if it's, if it's direct beef with, with Pierce or if it's the front office, but either way, Devontae has a two team list. Now let's look at these two teams. Like you mentioned the jets who are you know having their own issues. And New Orleans, who' and Derek Carr is hurt. yeah So it's over. like you don't want I wouldn't want to like, what do what do you do? Open the list up and.
00:07:26
Speaker
Let's be free. Okay. So let's say he opens the list up, right? Raiders asking price is a second round pick. According to, according to sources, second round pick and they want additional compensation and they're not paying any of the Devontae's contract. So you got to get the contract, give them a second and more. but div divideing it But it only makes sense if you're a handful of teams. Yep.
00:07:49
Speaker
So who are who are those teams? or Commanders. They're not even number one. Commanders should be on that list. Commanders on the list. Buffalo should be on the list. um Yeah. Buffalo should be on the list. Commanders should be on the list. And the city should be on the list. Should be not going to happen, but yeah, they need to be number one on the list. If you're Devontae and I get it, the high, that's like the pride thing. Oh, I don't, I don't think, but here's the thing. I don't think, that I don't think Raiders ain't making that. Sorry. I keep wanting to call them Oakland.
00:08:15
Speaker
I don't think Vegas would make that move to Kansas City. It's in the division. They're not doing that. No. No. Should be in the conversation, though. Buffalo, I would make that call. I would make that call. Jets, I'd make that call. Jets, I'd make that call. I'm not going to have them, but I'd do it. Commanders, I would absolutely do it. Commanders have the most money to literally do it anyway. And I'm like, Devante's been talking about Jane Daniels like all off season. He wanted them to trade to get Jane and Daniels. like That would have been the crux to keeping him, really. If you got Jane and Daniels, you're staying.
00:08:45
Speaker
you're didn't get them because obviously like the dominoes just say fall your way. They tried like, again, let's, let's, let's not just throw the Raiders under the bus. Say they didn't try. They may call after call after call, call the commanders offered a lot. They did everything they could have done. What else is you know funny? There's another team on the list that I would, I would make the call, but it's not going to happen. Green Bay. I made the call.
00:09:08
Speaker
If I was Green Bay, I'd be like, hey, hey, want you want to come back yet? And especially with their suspect receiving court. And now that they also have like a whole beef thing going on with the head coach and I'll say doomsday, I'm sorry.
00:09:21
Speaker
Um, what is that? Rob's Dobbs. It's like, it's the petty stuff that's been going on in the NFL this season. It's just like, it's a trickle down effect. Like it's just so it's like the little intricacies of pettiness everywhere. Well, it's not even just, it's, it's pettiness is frustration about maybe roles, the frustration about a team like, you know, we're five weeks in six weeks in to the 18 week season.
00:09:45
Speaker
Yeah, you're going to have some frustration against its human nature, but I think this divine thing has been building. Yeah, for sure. Last time I listened to the Giants. Honestly, I'm the Giants. I'm making the call because I've seen the starness in neighbors to say, Oh, let me get one more receiver for how long he can last. And let the danger has been playing good football. I need to capitalize on it. The Eagles.
00:10:08
Speaker
are what they are. like They ain't been great. Dallas Cowboys downfalls here. Let's run it. Let's make them run down. But how how much of, how much of the field of giants, right? You got Jones. We know we've seen Jones. We know what Jones is. Is this an aberration? No. Or is he turned the corner? I think he turned the corner. I think so. Cause again, like the O line is vastly better, vastly better.
00:10:38
Speaker
he's now He's not running as much as he was previously. Thank the Lord, which is like, again, an offensive coordinator scheme, his new play style because they have now a wide receiver one threat. and A slight number two in Robinson, Wandael has stepped up, he's emerged. But I think you just if you get that, Devonta Adams, that you're locked in for a little bit. But I don't think it's aberration. If it is, then, hey,
00:11:01
Speaker
I'd still rather Devontae Adams. I would. If I'd have on the Giants, I'd still would rather give my quarterback that we're paying an abundance amount of money to the all the weapons that he can get at his disposal.
00:11:13
Speaker
Right? Whereas if you're like, again, this is the same crux as if you're the commanders, you have a rookie on a rookie contract that has the talent to take your team far. You're the number one team in the NSEs. Go get him the talent now. Make it move where you have not only a McLaren, but now a Devontae Adams. And you're you're not even worried about the suspect where obviously rap reporter you have elsewhere on the board, right? You're no longer questioning your how, how well Zach Ersk is going to hold up before you start throwing in your backup tight end. Like you.
00:11:39
Speaker
You have that fundamental piece say yo Daniels now has another weapon where you don't have to risk all these runs. He's doing it again. It's not You're not worried about the fact that he's running the ball So you're worried about the fact that he how many times he has to run or how many pressures he's been getting Because he's just out of the pocket because yeah, his whole line is solid but his receivers if it's not mccorm right now They're not getting open as much as you really want to but he's playing such good football why not get him a one now? Or even it's a one A, because I think McCorn's a one. So why not get him that other guy now? Right. And you have options. And then and if you're Washington, right, you're looking across the NFC, and let's let's just look at the division. You have a mobile quarterback, some more to Philadelphia. You have the two-pillar wide receivers, some more to Philadelphia. You have a young defense that's playing well. You're already putting up 38 points a game if you're Washington. Why not? And it makes it makes a lot of sense.
00:12:33
Speaker
So this it's on Devontae that you need to expand the list, like expand the list. Let's say he doesn't, let's say he doesn't get moved. Right. Let's just say for the sake of this conversation, he does not get traded. Does he, does he play again?
00:12:49
Speaker
I would consider playing again, but if you don't get traded now, if you play, you risk the injured part of getting hurt. And if you're both the Raiders and him, why risk the injury knowing that you're trying to get moved, right? Like why risk the chance of getting hurt? Cause now your value goes down. Cause he doesn't get traded. So he sits the next two weeks. Potentially. like okay so then Trade deadline comes and goes.
00:13:16
Speaker
still sin. At this point, you you and the team have worked something out. You're still getting paid something. You're hurt, but you're getting paid something. And they recouped at least some type of monetary compensation from you, where now, both sides amicably know, this all season, we have to work something out.

Jets' Challenges: Coaching Changes and Offensive Issues

00:13:34
Speaker
You got to go.
00:13:37
Speaker
I got to get out, but we don't want it to look like it's like, we can't have this on like completely horrible terms because at the end of the day, like they, what can you do as an organization as a player? Where, yeah, the Raiders might want to keep on that. And he's a star player, but your star player wants to win. Your team's not winning. Like this isn't like some of the older years where like, Oh yeah, I can see the right, I can see we have a future building. Your future building is slow. It's a slow grind for you guys. Advances only getting older. Like the same little slow burn. He wants to be a part of right now when he wants to rent.
00:14:07
Speaker
So i figure i know at least he didn't get escorted out by security. Like they did with the jets. Robert Sala gets fired, escorted by security out this week. Uh, a lot of people, you know, said they came out of nowhere. Woody Johnson, the owner of the jets.
00:14:29
Speaker
said that it was his decision, only his. He didn't have anybody in his ear. Rogers ain't call him and say, yo, get this guy up out of here. He's trying to fire my guy, Hackett. All that has come out in the watch afterwards. So Jeff Albrecht has been named the interim head coach. he's He was a defensive coordinator. Jets can, with a win this Monday night, be first in their division.
00:14:58
Speaker
But it hasn't looked good for the Jets, especially offensively. ah Rogers throwing the ball 60 times a game at age 40. Doesn't look good. There was some talk about how Sava we may have been about to fire Nathaniel Hackett. There was talk that this offseason Sava interviewed the enemy, Kingsbury, a couple of other guys for that.
00:15:28
Speaker
offensive coordinator position. Yeah. Jared, where do the New York Jets go from here?
00:15:37
Speaker
I don't know, because like, where where do you, where do you, who's the interim, right? but I'm saying like, I'm not saying who's the interim, but like, who's a really the interim? Because how much pull does Rogers actually have? Or he's saying, I had no pull. He had no, no, no notification of the news. He found out everybody else says, yeah, yeah, all right. Well, let's, let's pump the brakes on that. So you knew, but then you also knew your OC that you wanted, you supported the move to strip Nathaniel Hackett to the play call.
00:16:06
Speaker
So like, and when you got hit, when he got stripped of it, the team started to play better. So yeah, like, I think the the wrong fire was made. I really do. But if you are, we always talk about if you got to fire anybody, you you start with the head coach first before you really getting rid of anything else. Because at the end of the day, Sol has had these opportunities to really help this team improve. They've put so much money into this team, so much time into the defense. And it hasn't been all that great, right? It just hasn't showcased what they wanted. They haven't put on the board what they had bought into on paper. It just didn't happen.
00:16:39
Speaker
But it's also the fact that like, yeah, it happens the circumstance. Like, Roger just got hurt last season. So now, Roger is still playing from an injury. Like, he's coming back into this season from an injury. And if there's games, he looks good, and there's games, is you're like, oh, man.
00:16:52
Speaker
you look like a 40 year old, and that's just the tough pill to swallow if you're a Jets fan or if you're just a fan of Rodgers in general. Going forward now, whoever they decide, okay, this is gonna be our interim, like our interim interim, the guy that's gonna be making the play calling, that's gonna be deciding how the Jets futures look, you you gotta really, and I know it's like supposed to be Obridge, right? You gotta lock it offensively, because it's not the defense, you gotta lock it offensively with Rodgers and my opinion Garrett Wilson.
00:17:22
Speaker
Breece is going to be Breece Hall. Once you start getting him in the ah offense, he's good. He's there. Garrett Wilson's offense is only predicated on Rodgers targeting him. That's it. like that's That's your offense. And again, I like i like that. Mike Williams is there. It's cool that Rodgers still has his camera through his arm. It's the sweetest moment. Louisaar is not your one. He shouldn't be your one. he shouldn't like There were games where he was seeing seven targets. Wilson saw three in the first half.
00:17:48
Speaker
That should never be the case. I don't i don't care if you think he's he's not that open. He's not. we gotta like You gotta revamp that, because again, Jester's coming off a game where Gary Wilson just had 130 yards and a touchdown. that That's though best's Gary Wilson. You know how talented he is. That's the guy you won. That's the guy you should have been targeting. And you would have probably maybe won a game or two earlier and say to somebody who's lost that got um piled up. And again, it's still early in then in the NFL. So you have time, right? You have time as this team can really bounce back and turn around. But that's what this that's what this guy has to do coming in. ah You got to set the tone early. Because at this point, it might be like,
00:18:26
Speaker
Where do you go from here ah if Rogers is like kind of already bought out as well? Yeah, but I think where you go from here is establishing the run game, leaning more on Braylon Allen and leaning more on on Bryce Breeze Hall. Because Rogers throwing the ball 60 times a game ain't sufficient. And it it's not sustainable, especially not him at 40 years old. Like you said, you have to kind of see what you want to get from Garrett Wilson. You have to make sure he's the focal point of the ah offense. But like you said,
00:18:54
Speaker
with having the chemistry Lazar, maybe he's a good change of pace, change up number two guy. Cool. But I think the Jets offensive struggles come because they can't run the ball effectively. They don't run the ball effectively. And the offense has been terrible since Salah took over as Jets head coach. The offense was terrible before Salah got there. Jets have had a terrible offense Honestly, for the past 25 years, let's keep it 100. Let's keep it 100, except for a couple years with Braylon Edwards, couple years of Santana Moss, and a couple years of San Antonio Holmes. You tell me, or and then Curtis Martin, you tell me where the Jets offense has been.
00:19:41
Speaker
You see what I'm saying? we We pinned everything on Zach Wilson. And was Zach Wilson good? No. Was Zach Wilson bad? Yes. But was Zach Wilson being like the only reason the Jets were bad? No. No. The Jets had a great defense. Yes. The Jets defense won them games that their offense couldn't. Yes. However, their offense stunk.
00:20:05
Speaker
And at a certain point, Salah didn't make it better. He should have he should have fired Nathaniel Hackett last year. ye He should have brought in another offensive guy if that's what he was going to do. Because at and at the end of the day, that cost him his job, not the defense. That offense stunk. And even with Rodgers, do you know how bad you have to be to make Aaron Rodgers? I don't care that he's 40.
00:20:35
Speaker
Do you know how bad you have to be to make Aaron Rodgers' offensive look bad? Like, bad. And yeah, some of this is on Nathaniel Hackett, too. Like, yo. Like, what are you doing? what what have you now Honestly, what has Hackett done since he was the offensive coordinator of Green Bay with Rodgers? What has he done? He didn't even make it a full year in Denver. And Russell Wilson looked horrible. Horrible.
00:21:05
Speaker
He was the offensive coordinator last year with the Jets, and need I say more? And then he had five games this year, and it wasn't like the offense looked exponentially better. i Like, come on. like And even Rodgers, if your boy is like, all right, he he he got to go. Like, where does this leave Nathaniel Hackett? I don't see him having much of a future after this year either.
00:21:34
Speaker
Like Chris, can I just give you a stat really quick? Just a quick step. And again, I'm like, I might be picking on this dude, but it's, it's because I just don't, I don't like when I see stuff like this. When you have, so we have too much of an abundance of talent. Alan Lazar's drop rate Worst among Y receivers with a minimum 40 targets. Guess how much that's going up this year.
00:22:02
Speaker
Just guess. Just take a guess. Because it's going up. It has. It's going up. One more time. In 2023, Lazar had a 17.9% drop rate. This year. It's 25. Oh, you're so close. He had a 23.1. Still the worst among wide receivers with at least 30 targets. His drop rate has been 20% across the last two seasons. That is more than triple the average. Because the league average for wide receivers is 6.4.
00:22:30
Speaker
Oh, yeah, yeah, I just let out because you would never think. And that's the guy you target. Like, I'm talking about you target. And it's in the play calling to target him because either Rodgers has co-opted to the team, hey, I want to get my guy involved. Or it just at this point, Rodgers isn't seeing the field enough to not be able to just key in on like his his his first read, which is Lazard. Because again, look at the three interceptions he had the last game versus the Vikings.
00:22:58
Speaker
Look at the fact that I'm watching Braylon Allen get... Well, I think it's a good rookie. I think he's good. But I'm watching him see an uptick of volume that Breeze Hall should be getting. Breeze Hall had nine carries the last game they played. Even if it's a losing game versus the Vikings, he had nine carries. He should never be sniffing single-digit carries. Ever. Like, ever. Like, you're the Jets. So, yeah. Like, just this is just piggybacks on your point where Accu was terrible.
00:23:25
Speaker
the the script they came up with. And it reminds you, even if he gave a play calling, guess what? He helped create this playbook for the season. You can't make a new playbook. It's too late. ah It's too late. So now you're just now going off of this playbook even with a new play caller. It's bad. It's bad. So I don't know what the Jets do from here. Salah, I think is going to get another job.
00:23:46
Speaker
Oh, so I think you should definitely get him a DC job. good thing jets The Jets defense was never the issue. Always top 10. Oh, never the issue. I think they're top. I think they're top since Salah was hired. They are like their top three, I believe in points per game yards per game in like red zone efficiency.
00:24:10
Speaker
So the defense isn't the issue. He was a great defensive coordinator. Terrible head coach. Yeah. That happens. and and And it really does, though. Like, just k kind of look at Vic Fangio. It happens. And that, hey, this goes back to my heart in Vic Fangio. All right, even Fangio, right? Fangio in Denver. No. Or no. OK. But but their their offenses were never this bad. Like, Vic's offense is abysmal. It has been abysmal.
00:24:42
Speaker
we'll get and we We talk about it. We usually with with because usually defensive head coaches have a shorter a shorter leash, right? the true office Because if you're offensive coach and your defense stinks and your office is good You you may you know I'm saying like don't don't let you fire the defensive coordinator and and cycle some defensive coordinators before you eventually get fired if you're a defensive head coach and your offense stinks and You got two and a half years max max.
00:25:21
Speaker
Look at Todd bulls before Baker Mayfield got to Tampa. He was, but he was out the door. Brady's last year. ysh You know what I'm saying? After Arians left, they had Todd bulls and everybody, everybody was just like, okay, Brady.
00:25:38
Speaker
Cool, thanks. You know, Todd Bowles, you take care of the defense. defense we got Brady got this over here. Before Break and Mayfield kind of lit up and reemerged himself in Tampa, was they was about to get Todd Bowles up out of there.
00:25:57
Speaker
So you you look at Eberflux. Look at Eberflux with Chicago. If Caleb Williams is who we think he is, he'll at least save Ibra Flus' job for the next two to three years. Listen. Right? If Caleb Williams is anywhere close to being decent, two to three year window, he just saved Ibra Flus' job. Because Ibra Flus probably should have got fired last year with Fields. Yeah. They should have got rid of both of them, honestly.
00:26:32
Speaker
but The defense came around. They're going to give him another shot with another quarterback, another another offensive coordinator. you guys They got Shane Waldron now, said to Luke Getsey. Now let's see what the offense looks like. So you had these defensive coaches who have, you know they've had some close calls. And Salah is the first, and Salah goes.
00:26:59
Speaker
And i of the 2021 head coaches that got hired, only one remains for now.
00:27:11
Speaker
Listen, it goes back to what I've told you time after time on this podcast. It's grassing always greener for defensive coordinator because some defensive coordinators can't be head coaches. It's just a fact.
00:27:25
Speaker
Because at the end day, they can make the defense as good as it is, but if you've never run an offense, your offense is gonna stink if you're just a straight defensive minor head coach. And the writing's on the wall. Dan Quinn, Robert Salah, Vic Fangio, they're all guys that, yeah, they might get other opportunities. They're not gonna take it away from them. They might, but as head coaches, their offense have all been pretty putrid, pretty putrid.
00:27:52
Speaker
And that's just the three I can name right now because I'm like, okay, let me get you the three most recent. We can go back further. If you want to go back further, but we just don't have to at the moment because those are three, they're all going to get, they all have jobs. They're all going to get jobs currently. I think I was on the other job. They already have jobs currently, but they're just not those type of guys when it comes to, Hey, I'm going to help create an office. That's going to be free. That's going to flow.
00:28:16
Speaker
That's gonna be like, oh yeah, this is the offense that is gonna take us above. it's not They don't do that, they just don't. Because they're so defensive minded, they can just keep creating great defensive teams. And then either they have to hire a good play call and a great off offensive minded guy, or they just whiff on it.
00:28:32
Speaker
That's just how it goes. And Salah is just another example of it. And I feel for him because his defense was actually star studded. But you had too much offensive weapons not to be accredited. He'll get another job. He'll get another job. It is. But you had too many offensive weapons not to make a good offense at this point, and you just don't have one.

NFL Coaches at Risk of Losing Jobs

00:28:47
Speaker
And you made bad hires. Hackett was a bad hire. Joe, you did have to go. Listen, I know that's Aaron's boy and everything, but Hackett sucks.
00:28:56
Speaker
But like it's OK, though, because silo you won't be the only one on the list. Hackett might be the worst coach, says Brandon Bailey. Oh my God, he's bad. But it's OK. Like I i just said, he won't be the only coach that's gone this season. He won't be. No, another coach that could be gone depending on if his team wins or not this weekend. Nick Sirianni, the other coach that was left remaining from the 2021 head coaching cycle,
00:29:26
Speaker
Jared, there's a lot of talk in Philadelphia about maybe Syrian. He has to go team is underperformed team has struggled a bit. The offensive concepts looked better in week one. Now they're kind of looking a little Syrian ish. We get down to week four in Tampa. Yeah, they didn't have AJ Brown yet. They didn't have the volunteer Smith. They pull out, you know, pull out a rabbit out the hat against New Orleans. They get stomped in Tampa.
00:29:53
Speaker
Teamers 2-1-2 had a bye week, now they play Cleveland. Cleveland's look terrible. If the Eagles lose this weekend to Cleveland, is this Sirianni's last game?
00:30:06
Speaker
It could potentially be, I would, I would now see him getting out the door. Cause again, it's unfortunate for him, but the hype was so real going into his first ever coaching year, because look at that, with that team accomplished, we'll go how far it went for them to fall. And then now you just have never turned your back around. It's also unfortunate for him because his comparison.
00:30:25
Speaker
is still, and is an NFC East has a head coach and Dan Campbell and the Lions are thriving, right? Cause he's supposed to be the player head coaches, the guys that light the locker room up when it comes to their fire, their passion, their energy. And unfortunately for him, he doesn't have the quarterback that drives through that. Like Daniel Hertz is a guy that wants more of, I don't want any passive aggressiveness or height up moments. I need you to come at me and say, I'm playing like trash or I need you to be in the moment with me, calm, cool, composed. And that might not just not be him.
00:30:53
Speaker
Right? And then it's that look at the offense. Your offensive play call was terrible. It was terrible when you were the play caller. And now you gave up the role. You now previously admitted that you're still making some play calling, when I thought you completely gave it up. So wait what is it? Is your pride too strong for you to completely give up play calling? For Kelly Moore, whose offense looked good in the first week, even if we lost the balance, looked good in all that motion, we've now dropped. You ran like 70% of the offense's motion the first week. We now dropped like 20%.
00:31:19
Speaker
what happened there and again we could say all the injuries but like even before AJ got hurt the next game we didn't see a much uptick of it so yeah Syria is in a hot seat for sure it has to be done because we lose to the Browns and how late the Browns stink yeah there's no question about it because again we're a two and two team just had a bye both of your R receivers are back For some reason, the team let Devin White go, even though I guess because the agendas that we, you know, it's a business, there's agendas here. Fan Joe has been really heavy on the Nicole B. Dean train. So is Harry Roseman, because at the end of the day, these this is the guy you drafted. You want him to succeed. But I think Devin White should have got a chance. You're looking at Isaiah Rodgers and I get any type of volume. We're following by to see Cooper Dijon start at the slot because Maddox has been god awful. Just an open field tackle. He's been god awful. Like we're seeing a little change in the defense. We'll see how that plays out. but
00:32:10
Speaker
Syrian is ah on the hot seat. I got four of the names on the hot seat, but with him. So Salah's not alone. He really isn't. Salah might not be the one fighting. Who are your names, Jared? Name the names. We could start with Doug Peterson. Cooked. well you doug I love Dougie Peay. I love him. Dougie Peay. Dougie Peay, man. He's sorely underachieved. He, at this point, is, is I think, that just like McCarthy, the times have passed him. And he might need a brief note. I got to push back on that. I got to push back on that. Look at the play corner.
00:32:40
Speaker
Look at the quarterback. I like i think Trevor's still good. is queen i dont know i don't know if trevor is I don't think Trevor is as good. Okay. I don't think Trevor is $275 million, $55 million dollars a year, highest paid quarterback in the league. Good. I think nothing, nothing, nothing he has done has shown me that. ah That season where they actually did something.
00:33:05
Speaker
That season, or did he have a couple of good games? He had that streak. But those streak of games is the same argument we made for Jordan Love. And Jordan Love kept capitalizing on it because his head coach and him worked and can hand in hand to make the game all the fun. OK, that's fine. But you but you don't see you but you you don't see Jordan Love take bad sex. You don't see Jordan Love continually overthrowing guys inaccurate all the time throughout games.
00:33:32
Speaker
traffic Lawrence at certain points in the game books flustered looks He looks like Darnold out there. And I'm not talking about Minnesota Darnold. I'm talking about Jets Darnold. I'm talking about he's seeing ghosts. He throwing the pito and balls six feet up in the air. You know what I'm saying? I don't want to say that it's Doug. The ah time has passed him by, because I don't think it's that simple. I think it's bad quarterback play.
00:34:00
Speaker
i think it's The team is handicapped because they're locked into this fight. you know they had the They have all this money tied into this quarterback who may not be elite. He might be good, but you can't pay a good, you're paying a good quarterback, elite money at the top of the market. You're handicapping the rest of your team. I think it's more, I think it's, a kind of Doug's going to get blamed for it because the coach always takes the fall for it.
00:34:31
Speaker
But I think more, to more of the issues with Jacksonville is that their quarterback play doesn't match what you're paying this guy. Yep. You know what I'm saying? Here goes the next name on the list. It's the same conversation. Kevin Stefanski on the list. And guess what? Kevin Stefanski is going to lose his job because the Browns invested the most money ever and got the biggest negative return on their investment you've ever seen.
00:35:00
Speaker
You sold your souls for can get it right. The show want sha Watson terrible. The show Watson objectively speaking has been the worst quarterback. Objection so far this season that started every like consistent. He is the worst quarterback. If he wins this game on Sunday, periodic back. Don't even bother. Don't even bother showing up on Monday. Yeah, it's bad. We will block we will mail you your stuff.
00:35:29
Speaker
But it's also on Stefansi because he continues to stick with Watson. I don't know if it's him continuing to stick with Watson. He went brad um that call might be coming from upstairs. And it's also not his fault that injuries have decimated the Browns offensive line. Key defensive players are gone. The teams 1 and 4. But he himself can't recognize the need for change, in in my opinion. They can't come up with the necessary adjustment for that team to win football games. And because of that, you're on the hot It's bigger than you sometimes it's bigger than use my face the fancy listen man when they fired Syriani come on home Come on home and now listen come on home here. Listen, let's go on the list I just talked pray. I just thought good about a quarterback. Well Brian dables on the list too. I don't care He's on the list too. You're talking about a guy that what you use the six-piff to draft Daniel Jones three years later and
00:36:31
Speaker
that team hired dable. Well, I'm going to say, a well, uh, dable, dable wasn't, you know, gamo came in three years later thinking he was going to work that, you know, John Allen magic. He does office coordinated with this guy and it ain't happened. It happened. They exceeded expectations year one. I give them that nine and what seven with that one tie still should have been tied with that one time, but they can sit, they still regressed. This team still regressing talent deficiencies alone. Yeah. They're to blame, but his lack of progress and improvement.
00:37:02
Speaker
has It doesn't matter how much you upgrade anywhere else. He has a head coach as well. It's like, you got, you got to go. I get it. The upset Seattle the last week, but I don't see a lot of prospect for a dramatic. And I, I mean, it has to be a dramatic turnaround ah for them to be like, for him, me not to put him as a costly head coach. And then this is where this is why I i started the podcast saying they should be in the name for conversation with Vonta Adams. Cause that'll save his career.
00:37:30
Speaker
because then now it's like, you, I think they'll be good. But then if you stink with him as well, or you're really on, you're still in the seat, but I think they'll be good. Yeah. But if they stink with the volunteer, I mean, is the right person on the seat? No, he's going to get him out of there. He's that's the, that's the, that's the gamble you take, but I'd rather live with the gamble having the talent. I'd rather live with the gamble having the most talent I can ever have with Dan Jones than just saying, okay, Dan knows I'm all your neighbors.
00:37:57
Speaker
And we sometimes that run Wanda Robinson, I, but like, okay, here my here's my thing. Here's my thing. Cause we were talking about coaches getting fired, right? So if Joe Shannon, who's the GM goes out and gets the volunteer items. They pay whatever Vegas wants them. You know, they take around big plus money and they gotta eat the, eat the volunteer contract. yeah If he's, if they're off, if they, if the team still stinks, you gotta go.
00:38:22
Speaker
Who got to go? Everybody? I mean, yeah honestly, everybody should have got out the door when they didn't bring back Saquon Berkeley, but I digress. You really gotta go. you You truly should. So who is it? Is it just Debo or is it the GM2? I'm getting both. I'm getting rid of both, Debo and the GM. OK. Get rid of both. But we didn't we're not doing the GM hot seat. We're doing the coach hot seat. And this one my this one might make you this might make me smile a little bit. You might like this one. Last name on the list for me. Why would it make me smile? Because we're talking about people losing their jobs. Oh, well, listen. There's some things that happens in life, and this man deserves to lose his job. Matt Eberfus, he's on the list. What the hell? What did Matt Eberfus do to you?
00:38:59
Speaker
He's trash. Yeah, I get it. Oh, whoa. Hey, I get it. They won back to back games against the Los Angeles Rams and the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers stink. I don't, I know. I, Hey, don't want him a game with the Panthers or garbage. And I'm i'm sorry to say this Rams fans, but your team is complicit of anything relevant to help you guys when Stafford and current Rams can only do, but so much.
00:39:21
Speaker
And yeah, that makes Ken Williams look better. And maybe, maybe the coaches have finally figured out on how to better support him and use him because they have a good defense. But we I'm talking about if you look at right now, the stretch of the week from 11 to 16, that's going to include like what, I think five divisional games for Chicago. I'm looking at them right now.
00:39:43
Speaker
You're banking and I mean, you're banking on this team to win you games against Jacksonville, Washington, Arizona, and New England. For me to say, Oh, you can't, you're keeping your job. Cause and and that means it has to be dramatic. Just same thing with able, it's gotta be dramatic improvement. Cause this is a guy that's what going, he's 10 and 24 in his first two seasons. He don't shaky ground, shaky, shaky ground.
00:40:08
Speaker
And I don't see it. If you were going to fire Ibifus, I feel like you should have did it last year. They should have. I feel like at this point, like I said, you have to give them, you give them the year or two with Caleb, see if it improves. As long as the defense doesn't fall off a cliff, I don't think Ibifus is going to get fired. Ah, now I got a last name for you. I apologize. I got one more name for you. I'll let you finish. That was pretty much a it just popped in my head. I forgot. Like I forgot he was in the NFL.
00:40:38
Speaker
But guess what? Mike McCrory, he's on a hot seat again. Oh, oh. no He's on a hot seat again. Stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop, stop. He needs to go. Stop, stop, stop, stop, stop. He's on a one. He's on a, he's basically playing on his contract. Fire, fire. You don't need to finish it up. Fire. You don't need to finish it up. So he's in, he's in a, he's in like the, the absolute worst position because it doesn't matter what they do in the revenue

NFL Game Predictions and Analysis

00:41:05
Speaker
season.
00:41:05
Speaker
It doesn't matter if they win 12 games, it doesn't matter if they back into the playoffs, it doesn't really matter. The real key for McCarthy is can they win multiple playoff games?
00:41:18
Speaker
playoff games, Chris, can they win like multiple games period right now? I mean, they're, they're what, three and two? They're three and two. I mean, after a scratch and crawl, like, I mean, they mean but yeah okay that's that's what Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh does it to everybody. And that's great, but he don't look confident as a head coach to me anymore. He don't. The teams arguing the sidelines with each other.
00:41:37
Speaker
where how do we know Okay, okay, now we saw we saw that the CD to deck we don't know what he said yeah so you don't know what he said sort to recording down you know what he said what do you say gary here We the video don't got the video for me play the tape We can read lips, play the table. You master class. and read game could Stop it. Stop it. You don't know what he said. The offense continues to sputter. The defense ain't much better. His play calling is not even noy his play anymore. I'm sorry. His clock management. It appears and patterns. Let's be for the Peters and patterns. But guess what? um' ah um'm um I'm going to be honest with you.
00:42:14
Speaker
It's a poor showing from him. And right now, his stretching game none his dad cu is His stretching game is so disgusting, Chris. If he can't even put together two wins, he might as well get rid of him. Because look. None of it matters. None of it matters. They're not going to fire him the middle they're in the middle of the season. They're not going to fire him. well Unless this team falls off the cliff, they're not going to fire him. Well, they got a chance to, because think about this way. They played Detroit, San Francisco, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Houston.
00:42:43
Speaker
And Washington, that's their name. and if they And if they go three and three in those games, they shouldn't go through it. They can beat Detroit. They can beat Philadelphia. ah well They can beat Houston.
00:43:01
Speaker
me Houston ain't look houstonint looked great. The three and three you got right now is Philadelphia, Washington, Atlanta wins losses, Detroit, San Francisco, Houston. any loss They could beat San Francisco. It's not like San Francisco's off. Come on. It's not like San Francisco's lighting the world on fire. Stop it. and they is rule jerry mason but It's shaky. That defense ain't great. and i there's not it's when it's not oco that it's like And it's not like San Francisco hasn't been shaky. It's not like Atlanta hasn't been shaky. Everybody's shaky. I give them that. detra
00:43:35
Speaker
me train jay chris And every time Detroit in a big game, they start going off the rails. they they are Not this season. They ain't had the season. Well, dick the game we have a big game against Dallas. We'll see how the game they need. this the choice If Dallas wins this game at home, what are we supposed what are we supposed to say? Oh, it's just Detroit. They were supposed to beat Detroit at home. Now we flip flopping. I ain't saying I ain't even going to flip flop.
00:44:02
Speaker
I am going to go. You can go right over to the predictions. Now we can start with that game. You know who I'm taking. Oh, you know who I'm taking. We're not going to start with that game. We're going to do some predictions before we do the predictions. Make sure everyone checks out the seventy six is lock of the week on Instagram. Sponsored by Sugared by a T. Jarrett. We start first in London. Jolly London, zao England as the Jacksonville Jaguars host Well, I think they're technically the road team, but it's London. So they're home. Yeah. They, they, they thrive in London. So they, they, they taken on Caleb Williams, Chicago bears, the bears, Jared, who you got the bears, the bears. You have to say it. You have to say it. Okay. Here we go.
00:44:55
Speaker
I bet the Bears as well. They've been playing much, much better on offense. Their, their, their their defense is solid. Jacksonville's been struggling. Uh, yeah, they, they put up a lot of points against Indy, but who doesn't put up points against Indy? Bears always seem to play for three quarters, but some way, somehow it's a one possession game in the fourth quarter. Either way. Um, I think Chicago.
00:45:23
Speaker
I think Chicago wins, and that may be the end of Doug Peterson. Yeah, honestly, but then i say the Jaguars, the Indians put up our point. I was going to the most points as well. It's like it's that bad. So hopefully this is a high scoring game, hopefully. We'll see. it I mean, the the London games tend not to be. Yeah. So speaking of a game that now may be high scoring, the Washington commanders don't travel far, but they travel I guess up 95 to Baltimore to take on the Ravens. Jared, who you got? Ravens. Yeah. I like the Ravens this week. This is going to be a good game. I think it's going to be a good early slate game. It's weird because I think with Washington, I think everybody's kind of looking around like, okay, when are they going to not perform well on offense? And they've performed well on offense all year. We had the same conversation when they played
00:46:22
Speaker
Cincinnati on Monday night, we were like, okay, well, bright lights, big, you know, big stage is Washington going to crumble under the pressure. They didn't. This is another test. I think Baltimore has shown signs of weakness. Cincinnati for all sets of purposes probably should have beat them last week. They put up 30, I mean, 35, 38 against Cincinnati.
00:46:49
Speaker
I mean, we know that Baltimore can score. We know that Washington can score. It's going to come down to whose defense makes the move to enter the other team's quarterback first. I think Jayden Daniels is very talented. He's put he's very he's played well.
00:47:06
Speaker
um hey Crisp passes. not if He's not like he's dinking and dunking. And you know he's running. He's using his legs effectively. He doesn't take a lot of hits, which is great.
00:47:18
Speaker
As much as I think Baltimore will win this game, it's very hard to go against Washington right now. So I think Washington on the road will, will surprise a bunch of people. And I will take Washington. Jared Tampa Bay travels down to New Orleans and Spencer Rattlers first start for the saints. Jared, who you got? tim ba No offense. from around but You ain't. this is your first test and you play in a defensive line like that, you finna get killed, dude. it's It's gonna be a bad one for you. And I love the matchup still between Mike Evans a lot more, so it's still gonna be a little bit of a tight one, but I got the bucks coming out and winning it. Yeah, I agree. um Spencer Rattler's first start against the team in Tampa, who's going to blitz, who's going to show a different looks with Todd Bulls. I think Rattler may be
00:48:10
Speaker
rattle No pun intended, but it's going to be very, very, very dependent on if Rattler can get the ball out to his playmakers, Olave and Camara. Is Taysom Hill back for this week? Is he healthy? you know There's a lot of questions that New Orleans has to answer. there theyre Their offensive line didn't look great when they play Kansas City. Tampa Bay's defensive line is justice formidable. I think Tampa Bay wins that game as well. jared Cleveland travels to South Philadelphia to take on the Eagles. Jared, you got it. We just talked about it. Not much more else to say about that. If they don't win this game, it's a lot of, there's another conversation we're going to have to have on next week's episode. Listen, man. If the Eagles lose this game, Sirianni will be front and center on episode one 95. And we'll be talking about how he needs to get to fire. Yeah. Jared Indianapolis travels to Tennessee to take on the Titans. Jerry, you got,
00:49:06
Speaker
I like the Colts, um, Richardson should be back playing, but then again, they did lose Jonathan Taylor, but I hate to say it could be a blessing in disguise for Anthony Richardson losing Jonathan Taylor. Cause you really, you really need to, this is his chance to showcase himself a little bit more when it comes to this passing game. You add, you had the rest due to the injury.
00:49:27
Speaker
But you really need to get more involved in your passing game. You need to really start finding your flow within it. And without the escape of a John Taylor being your down about how this is the game where you can go front and center really start showcasing your skill set. So I think the Colts can come out with one here. I think the Colts are going to not do that. I think the Colts are going to run the ball. I think the Colts is going to give Trey Sermon a lot of handoffs.
00:49:53
Speaker
I think the Colts need to keep Anthony Richardson upright and keep him from taking a lot of hits. He's, he's missed a lot of time in his short time in the league already. He needs to get out of this game unscathed. I think a lot of that is going to be predicated on running the ball, setting up the run and allowing Anthony Richardson to then play action pass. Hopefully you get you some open windows that even he can't miss because he is very inaccurate at times. You know, you got the arm. He just can't. It's kind of like the pitcher in baseball, like he's going to throw on it, but you don't know if it's going to be a ball or strike or not. Like you don't know where it's going to go. So he's got the fast ball. We know that he's got to get some layups and he's got to get some open throws. And I think that way would be beneficial for him. So if they do that, I think Indianapolis will win. Jared Houston travels up to New England to take on the Patriots who you got.
00:50:49
Speaker
houston Yeah. New England's starting Drake may for the first game. We'll see if he can give a little spark to their offense. Hopefully his office alone doesn't get them killed, but we'll use this game as a, as a launching point almost for them. They've kind of been struggling lately, kind of, you know, up and down, up and down. So I think if they can put a consistent outfit together,
00:51:15
Speaker
Similar to what the Jets did on Thursday night against New England, I think it's gonna be one of those type games where it's like, okay, New England trying on offense, can't really get anything together. I think they'll have a little bit of a spark with May, but I think Houston should use this game to watch their season into the next gear. Arizona travels to Green Bay to take on the Packers. Jared, what do you got? Mm, toss up for me. I really,
00:51:41
Speaker
have one. I'll take the Packers to their home. Carter's been really surprised in the season. Really, really surprised. And because of that surprise, you just don't know where the the game could end. Because at this point in time, Kyle Murray's been putting on the show. I think they still have a great wide receiver cord when it comes to what they have. They're putting on paper how good Mark Harris Jr. is and has been. And then Jordan Love is back, and he's been playing good football. Like, again, that first game back, yeah, there was a little bumps in the road, and he almost put out a comeback. But he He's, I think, settled in when they beat the Rams. I think now you go into this game and you kind of just, you win another one at home against the Cardinals. I think it's going to be a very good game. Arizona does tend to um play well to their competition. They don't really play down. They they they mostly play up to their competition. um I think we so we think of Arizona as this
00:52:41
Speaker
I think they're more of a middle of the pack team now than we think. Green Bay's defense is susceptible to mobile quarterbacks. We've seen that in the past. Kyle Murray is you know very mobile, very short, but very mobile.
00:53:00
Speaker
um
00:53:06
Speaker
Green Bay has has gotten some there's some drama. ish in Green Bay. Is love all the way healthy?
00:53:18
Speaker
i I really don't feel confident in taking Arizona on the road, but I'm going to anyway. I think there's a lot of there's a lot. and so There's a kicker issue on Green Bay, too. They got a lot to to iron out road right now, so I think I'll take Arizona. Jared, ah the Rams, I'm sorry.
00:53:41
Speaker
Yes, the Rams traveled. Is this? I wrote down LA and I didn't specify whether it was the Rams or the Cardinals. The Chargers travel to Denver to take on the Broncos. Jeremy, you got. The Broncos in that one their last two games. This will be a week where they went. Now what we'll be saying next week they won their last three games because I got the Broncos beating the Chargers going into this game. Herbert still playing on that bum ankle.
00:54:10
Speaker
And it's there's not a lot of fluid offense from him when that ankle is just, it's cooked. Bo Nix continues to surprise me. That team continues to surprise me. They have the ups and downs, but Nix is in the back QB. The team just isn't like us, to be honest, just isn't all that great when it comes to the talent perspective, but he's playing good football. He runs the ball well, he's throwing. And if Gervonta Williams can stay involved in the offense like he was last week, I think they can beat the Chargers. Can they beat the Chargers?
00:54:41
Speaker
Yes. Will they beat the Chargers? I don't think so. I think that there their defenses their defense has been playing solid, but it's not like Bo Nix has been lighting the world on fire. Chargers defense has been playing well as well.
00:54:58
Speaker
um it's goingnna I think this is going to be a divisional game. It's two experienced coaches.

Speaker
herbert's Herbert's injured like you said, charges offense hasn't been great, but charges chargers can run the ball. Charges have have really revitalized JK Dobbins. um
00:55:21
Speaker
I think Denver is playing very well, but I think Denver is playing a little bit too well and to the fact that they need to start regressing to the mean. So I think charges when on the road, jared The Steelers, your Steelers, traveled to Vegas to take on your Raiders. Jared, who you got? Steelers.
00:55:41
Speaker
make Mike Tomlin's doing it again, like I told you. He's winning football games, doing what they doing what he does when it comes to how he's been coaching. Yeah, they lost to the Cowboys, but I think they should have won that game. this Right now, this is a game where they're going to go in, the defense is going to do their job, and they're going to win this game out, because the feeling doesn't look terrible. Crazy to say, he has no terrible.
00:56:07
Speaker
The Raiders do. The Raiders look terrible. I don't know how they're going to go against this gritty, tough fight game defense of this. There's like the Steelers have one of the best events in the league again. And I don't know if Aiden O'Connell prepared or ready for that. So I, I like the Steelers coming into this game and just winning it. And I'm not saying by the landslide, I have them winning this game.
00:56:33
Speaker
Uh, uh, I want to disagree with you just for the sake of, you know, cause that comedy shaking my head, but I agree with everything you said.
00:56:48
Speaker
Unfortunately, you don't remember me again. that game too Well, agree again.
00:56:52
Speaker
Next game Atlanta travels to Carolina to take the Panthers journey. I got the Falcons back. You tell me you're going the other way. You might be dozed if you're going the other way. Because right now, when I've seen the Falcons, Kirk will chase his back. Now, the same fits. Because in Atlanta, it fits him more now. It fits him a lot better because he's been cooking out there in the Milan streets.
00:57:15
Speaker
Do I see the parents winning? Absolutely not. Do I see Dalton having a good game? Sure. Why not? Because what else are you going to do? At least they're at least a competent, competitive team. You're a competitive team with Dalton, so why not? At least you can be competitive. And Kirk in Atlanta is starting to break the trend of prime time games. Cause again, he's had it so many. So, Hey, this could be just another, he had to sacrifice his Achilles to win on prime time. What a man doing it this season. So he won't keep that train going in this game. Jared, the lions traveled down the Dallas stick when the Cowboys, who you got the lions.
00:57:50
Speaker
I got the Lions by a mile. I think the Lions by a mile. I think they might cook Dallas. I really do. Unless Dallas defense shows me something different than what they've done this season. they might say That run game alone might torch Dallas, which Dallas is like, they've been comparable to the run games previously. They still are that too tandem of Montgomery who just got his extension and Gibbs might get in trouble yet again. And then you involve the passing game. We'll report it out back healthy.
00:58:21
Speaker
You still have Brown. James Williams emerges the two. Yeah, I like i like the Lions a lot. I really do. Buy a mile. Mile. Buy a mile. Yeah.
00:58:39
Speaker
Yeah, I'm like just all money down, Lions. That just makes, that just, I hate to say this. I, God, forgive me. I think I got the Cowboys. You're a gross man. You you are, God, you are going to hell. You're a gross man. but Just letting you know what you want. A nasty leaving. Just letting you know.
00:59:09
Speaker
Let me tell you why. Sure. I'll listen.
00:59:15
Speaker
Honestly, because you said Detroit by a mile. There we go. And that's that's your heathenism right there. You're you're a jinx. Everybody knows Jared's jinx. Never. Everybody knows Jared's jinx. Never. If anything, you're the jinx, because now you're going to go with Dallas. And every time you root you go for the team, they lose. They lose. Just this season alone. I'm not rooting for them. Just this season alone. The teams you're going for have lost. I am not rooting for them, OK? Last week we said the Seahawks, Seahawks lost.
00:59:42
Speaker
When the Jets played their first game of season, I got a Rogers, he lost. You right now are the kryptonite to all these teams. And guess what? I need you to root for Dallas. I really do. I need you to go with them. Don't come this lion's way. Go with Dallas so we can smoke that Dallas pack. Go ahead. Go ahead and stay over there. The next game, Cincinnati, shut up, Jared. The next game, Cincinnati travels to MetLife to take on the New York football Giants. Jared, who you got? I don't know. Does this game actually hit the over-under? Be for him.
01:00:12
Speaker
Yes. It's over. Cincinnati defense is struggling badly. Giants looks like they have a pulse on offense. Cincinnati gave up 38 points their last game. Giants scored 29 with. Some shenanigans on special teams.
01:00:38
Speaker
yeah overunds probably forty three let me so give me the bang and ran Over under is Give the Give me the Bengals. Coming off a tough loss. Because they're even tough. like yeah yeah' that's That's a heartbreaking loss. At home, N.O.T. Burl had the game of...
01:01:05
Speaker
Great game. It was a great QB battle. That's a game you rewatch. That's a game you rewatch to highlight you re-see because you got to see 193 yards and two touchdowns from Jomar Chase, 392 yards and five touchdowns from Joe Burrow. And then on the other side, you're watching Zafar's go for 111 yards. So Ammar Throw for 348 and four touchdowns. Yeah, I like the Bengals because you don't come off a loss like that and not go try and kill your opponent in the next game. You don't.
01:01:32
Speaker
Whereas the Giants, they might have settled in with their win against the Seahawks. They might have.
01:01:40
Speaker
Yeah, and you look at Cincinnati, like you said, coming off of their offense is starting to click well. whole this whole key This whole thing is predicated on their defense, getting their defense make stops. If you're able to let Daniel Jones run around, fine neighbors, fine Robinson,
01:01:57
Speaker
find his targets, Tyrone Tracy's emerging out the backfield for them. You have to at least have some pause if you're Cincinnati and make sure you're you're you're trying to kibosh anything that, you know any momentum that New York has. I think Cincinnati is is is a better team. I think Cincinnati is more talented, but I think Cincinnati can't go in there assuming they're gonna win because same thing happened to Washington.
01:02:25
Speaker
same, you know, and and Washington showed up and and beat him. So I don't think they're going to have repeated it. I think Cincinnati wins this game. And Jen, Jared, finally, our Monday night game, Buffalo travels to MetLife to take on the Jets. Jared, who you got?

Podcast Conclusion and Future Plans

01:02:41
Speaker
Buffalo division game, but I like them to win it. This isn't one of the moments where you say, hey, a team fires a head coach, they normally go out and play the next game better, which is normal. That's the trend.
01:02:54
Speaker
But a team like this, I don't know if they have that pattern because one, the solid fire was a surprise to a lot of those players, not just to like air coach Rogers, but to, I mean, a lot of the guys, right? You have this interim head coach who they, they might not, they got to do their job, but they might not be all the way bought in on. Whereas the bills have stuff to prove. right This is the division game. They're trying to still showcase that they're a dominant team, which they've been doing, but they just trying to continue to focus that they're a good team without digs.
01:03:22
Speaker
And yeah, they've had, they they're a slippery slope, right? They're a three and two team. The offness the offense, the offense has been stagnant at times. I like that they're getting Kincaid involved more. I think they should have started that earlier, but you, I haven't seen the emergence of the Coleman, we should call it. We've been promised, right? like shakira We've been promised. This is a game where you, you go in versus the defense. That's still going to play good, but you got to come in and and go and beat them. And I think they have, they're going to do it in this game.
01:03:53
Speaker
You know, I'm, I'm very much the proponent of you fire your coach. The next game people play inspired football. Yeah. I think this game is going to be ironically enough, whether or not Rogers is offense can take advantage of the things that Buffalo's defense is going to give them. The Buffalo on defense is susceptible to the quick pass. You know, we've seen.
01:04:20
Speaker
teams try that in the past. We've seen the Jets really try that against other teams. If that is successful and you have a team and you have a team in Buffalo whose offense is Josh Allen and everybody else, especially when you have a ah ah game where you're going down for 30.
01:04:41
Speaker
You can't do that. You can't do that in against this Jets defense. like it's going to be It's going to be tough if if Buffalo's offense isn't there. So with that being said, they did just fire their head coach. It is a chance for them to be first place in the division at home Monday night football.
01:05:07
Speaker
I think I got the Jets.
01:05:10
Speaker
I think I got to that ah that a tie them in the division. I got to be huge. Listen, because you can see you can see the front. You can see them back pages in New York Monday morning. Mm hmm. That would be huge. You know, all that Johnson and Johnson. Get that baby oil ready. Nums point. All right. ah Anything else before we wrap it up? Uh, Chris, I just want to let you know, I noticed When we were talking earlier, you did a quick fist bump in the air.
