Introduction & Worst Team Discussion

00:00:37
Speaker
straight to the point. My name is Chris. Here are my guys. And unlike a certain guy on a certain team, that's the worst team in basketball. We're recording our podcast, but we're not the biggest losers on earth. Sure. Got to talk about.
00:00:56
Speaker
you know, the worst team to basketball. No, hands down. Crazy, but hands down. The worst. The worst. Statistically, the worst. Yeah. vi Vibes, terrible. Yeah. But we'll also talk about the NFL. Yeah. But Jared, let's start begrudgingly with your favorite team. And I know I said, I've said many times that it doesn't matter and until Christmas But it's getting late early in Philadelphia. Team stinks. There's infighting. There's leaks. There's injuries.
00:01:45
Speaker
i are you Are you still confident? Remember you said you were worried. You were worried you said before. Are you confident?
00:01:56
Speaker
See, were rational me understands that there are still 60 games or whatever, how many games left in the season. However, Paul George's hurt again. Yeah. How two games. Their second best player is calling out the first best player.
00:02:23
Speaker
The first best player doesn't know what the game plan is. Yeah, that's visibly evident. And the game plan is like, bro, there's things in the corner. I'm like, what are we doing? Ah.
00:02:36
Speaker
And then the maxi card on B, again, the week is whatever. But you could tell just now that everybody's come out. No, no, no, no, no. The league is not whatever. The league is indicative of what the problem is with this team. No, the week being like, yeah, no, I shouldn't. But maxi card on B is whatever. Because again, they're literally like, but their brothers, they did come out and say, yo, it was nothing like that. Maxi said, yo, it wasn't like that. PG's come out and said it wasn't like that. Will's even just been in the locker room and he was invited to me and said it wasn't like that. Y'all already said it wasn't like that. Why you got all these people in the locker room?
00:03:07
Speaker
Well, why are all these people? Why are all these people in front of microphones? Why does this? Why do you need to talk about this on the podcast? The same reason why Draymond talks about whatever you talk about on his podcast. Why do athletes, why do current athletes need podcasts? Oh, that's the great question at all. Um, because at the end of the day, they still have to make money and they monetize themselves before they let anybody else monetize for them.

Athletes and Podcasts: A Debate

00:03:31
Speaker
Smart. Smart.
00:03:35
Speaker
Like I understand, I understand I'm old man yells at cloud. I wish things were the way they were, whatever, whatever. The new gen of basketball is totally different. And it's, and it sucks badly. But again, he came and just, I don't even explain the player. There's social media, the internet. it's I blame Adam Silver.
00:03:53
Speaker
Sure. You sound like you sound like a person we know, but sure. I blame Adam. So you know what? What is he? What do what do you think he's going to do? Make an addendum rule saying we had banning the podcast. You listen. I'm listening. You all know me. Well, hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Y'all know me, Jared. You know me. I say ban Twitter. I say ban all social media. Hell, I say I give I give up the pockets. So you're going to strike then now you the players are going to strike.
00:04:24
Speaker
Get out. The quality of play sucks. Yeah. It doesn't, bro. It doesn't matter. All they do is chuck up 83s a game. I'm tired of watching this.
00:04:35
Speaker
I mean the team and then, but then again, the teams that don't shoot all those threes, we're like, man, this game was slow and kind of boring. So I don't care. I'd rather watch slow and boring and 85 points again. I need 2004 Detroit Pistons basketball. So, okay. So you're not worried about offense. You're just wanting defense to be what defense used to be. But then that says, yeah, i blame Adam silver. Who are we talking about with terms of defense? because and Am I talking in general? I'm talking about the Sixers.
00:05:00
Speaker
In general, you're one defense to be where guys can actually. plug relatively competent thing i hate i'm about to say this i am about to say this I want all the teams to play like the Knicks. Okay. There. I said it. The next one we'll play them like their defense is okay, but it's not like yeah, but because you're describing though you wouldn't throw it you thought the test I want I want 1980s Detroit okay that that defense do for you even alive for that so you I want it you will see a slugfest but yes, and I need this I need to become hockey I do miss the early 2000 defense
00:05:35
Speaker
We're like, you can legit at least at least put your hand in front of a bump of body. Whoops, somebody asked real quick. I hate the new offense is first. You know, the Trey Young's, the Joan Brunson. I'm so the M.B. Artans, the Duane, the Yogic, the floppers, the floppers. I'm so sick of the flopping. And they come up with new ways. It was cool. It was cool when J.J. Maria was doing it. I don't know what center is doing it.
00:06:05
Speaker
and And again, that's just how the league works now. And again, I think they they still have yet to figure out a way to make defense be a little bit more physical, because these refs are blowing the whistle on everything. But then again, the refs have become so. They blow the whistle on everything, or they blow the whistle on nothing. There's no in between. yeah and And again, refs have become so sensitive to themselves, where they think they should be involved in basketball games. They have a personality there that they're doing things that because, oh, I like i like this, or i I'm doing that. Basketball has changed. It's going to keep evolving.
00:06:32
Speaker
The sixes, on the other hand,

Sixers' Struggles and Comparisons

00:06:33
Speaker
stink. This was one of the better constructor rosters that we were talked about, what we thought when we came up with it. We were like, man, this is a better constructor roster. And yet again, injuries derail us. Beads, tardiness, whatever's going on. PG's hurt. Massey got hurt. It was laughably embarrassing. You're two and 12.
00:06:51
Speaker
Do they win 10 straight? No. Can they start winning a collective span of games? Could they turn this around? yes yeah and i kind of Do I believe in it? Do I believe in it? my family From 80% to I'm at a ah good 55. Honestly, I just see this team not even making the play in.
00:07:11
Speaker
i don't That's terrible. Here's the thing, though, because you can't just blow this team up. No, unless the stars ask out, you can't blow it up. And I wouldn't. I wouldn't blow it up knowing that the circumstances around this team hurt us right away. here's here's the Here's the problem, right? Because I watched this game against Memphis last night. And yes, you can argue Memphis just hit every three they took, which which they did they did. Like, you got Jay Huff, and you got Desmond Bain, and you got um Jaylen Wells, and you got Scottie Pippen Jr., and you got all these guys hitting threes, right? Whatever.
00:07:47
Speaker
Sixers have historically bad shooting so far. Like, can't hit a shot historically bad.
00:07:55
Speaker
but The thing that concerns me the most is that the star player, I'm not referring to him by name, but the star player, 21 process guy goes out there, lumbers, doesn't move, doesn't seem interested. Seems like he always has always been this problem. Every But... time. And it's always been this problem. Sluggish. It's always sluggish. Because at a certain point,
00:08:24
Speaker
You can't beat a head down mopey big dickhead like you've been doing. yeah Like you gotta pick it up. you're like You gotta show some fight. Third quarter, you could argue that third quarter, he kept him from getting blown up by 20. Fine. Yeah, they had a little they had a little fake comeback.
00:08:42
Speaker
With three minutes left, they went from down 15 to down four. He throws the ball away. I think he thinks Uber is going to stay in the corner. First of all, why the hell is Uber in the game if he's going to be shooting threes? Why is Eric Gordon not in the game? Why is Yaboo Sally, who with five threes not in the court? Whatever. Whatever. If you want to take a glimmer of hope from that game and that they had that little fake comeback,
00:09:08
Speaker
fine, whatever. um But if I see, if I see this, they have to get rid of the same lazy tendencies that they have. yep They got to stop playing. Like, please, please for the love of God, stop leaving guys out there to drown. Yeah. I need nurse to be a little bit more fortuitous with these timeouts. free to Call the time out. Stop. kill Like, please stop killing the momentum.
00:09:37
Speaker
And let McCain run the point. I said it. Let McCain run the point. He's not having that good a boy but he's better than Reggie Jackson. He's better than Jeff Downton. He's better than Kyle Lowry. Well, Maxie's back. The star would have had Maxie McCain. Let Maxie McCain run the point. Flip them off. I don't care. Do what the magic do, and let's do multiple ball handlers. Stop letting them be. Bring the ball up the court, and stop playing around with these A terrible team. A terrible team. Why are you losing to Memphis? I love who Thomas Maxey is, but we have to put in some accountability on him as well when it comes to the, hey, dude, you was playing hero ball after you just said, we've got to get into it. You called out your player and you played hero ball last night. Some of these losses, you fight as hard as you can with the roster that you had. Some of the losses that we had in previous
00:10:28
Speaker
Before with the injury to PG out, they own him as well. All this whole team in channels. The issue I'm having with that game last night, it just looked like nobody was like as soon as PG got hurt.
00:10:42
Speaker
The minds went to, they already were thinking season, then gain. And that's the issue that they got to have. They're, they're thinking they're, they're too far ahead of where they need to be. And then when they actually are, and I think that's what you could see, they got, they got defeated as soon as PZ got hurt, defeated. They're like, Oh, this might be our season, whatever, whatever. and and it's just filled them the entire game. The Sixers right now are they're worried about the championship and you already to worry about some regular season wins like they they think they and they clearly thought it was a cakewalk or they thought they were gonna have they were gonna do what they do which is compete with the team they need to compete with and beat the team they should be beating it they're not doing that so now they need to revamp their whole mindset they need to revamp their whole mentality something's wrong something's going on.
00:11:27
Speaker
I get what you're saying and that makes and and and that's all fair and good But the problem is that this team has always been, this team has always been rotten from the ground up, top down, whatever you want to say, the foundation of this team sucks. It's foundational rock. Front office is always in turmoil. Roster is always in turmoil. Coaching staff is always in turmoil. Everyone's always, there's no continuity anywhere.
00:11:54
Speaker
As much as I hate to say it, they may be in a position where they got to just ride it out. Because if you keep mixing and matching and flailing at whatever, swinging at nothing, like you end up in ah in a situation where you don't and i'm saying you don't you don't make any progress. And then you end up in Sixers, Jets, Clippers, Cowboys land, which is where they are. They're the NBA Cowboys. They're the NBA Jets.
00:12:23
Speaker
They're the East Coast Clippers. I've said, we've said this many times, they're a team with all the expectations in the world, never come through. And yet we're going to keep talking about them because that's the team we root for. However, it's funny to me that 10 years later, they're right back at the worst team in basketball, right back. So we back at square one. Congratulations with Paul George and Maxi and McCain and then B.
00:12:54
Speaker
They're the worst team in basketball. Now, will they be the worst team in basketball in January, in February, in March? No. However, they can't afford to take any days off between now and February and March and all that other stuff that they planned on doing. They can't do that. Now, they got to play MB. Now, they got to play maxi. They got to play PG whenever they're healthy. We'll see how long this no back-to-back thing
00:13:22
Speaker
You know, like we'll see because I don't think how I don't see 12 games under 500 where you can afford to take the games. You can't do it. Well, it's over. Basketball studies now. Remember, we used to say basketball section Christmas. It starts now. It starts one day and no with the nuts. That's right. Oh, I'm sorry. You play Clippers on Sunday. Yeah, we play the next Friday. PG is going to be out both these games, Nets and Clippers. So we'll see how these go.
00:13:52
Speaker
you You can't do any more one-in-ones. like I've never really seen a team make a great comeback like down two and 12 in a season. I don't know. Because where were we at? Two and 12. We're at 14 games in the season. There's 82 games. You're struggling. And B really can't rest like the way he thought he was going to rest now. yeah If you do, you're you're done. Because we've seen this team to know you're not winning basketball games. And there's nothing but in this team is disappointing.
00:14:18
Speaker
from the top down and B looks looks terrible. Maxi's been hurt. PG's been hurt. Drumming ain't did nothing. You know, the only bright spot on this team is the guy that we was making making fun of on draft night. And but and the guy that made fun of it, I said, hey, you could be a steal. And he has been so far. Him and Dalton connect have been the two best rookies so far. Hands down. Two best rookies. And one team, the Lakers.
00:14:46
Speaker
with better coach, better players, better personnel. And the other team, the Sixers. Look out, like out, outpaced, outclassed, outmatched, no heart, and no energy, nothing. Like they look at the bag and they're done. That's the thing that bothers me is this team has no fight. This team has no energy. This team just kind of like, Oh, ho hum walking up and down. i It's just the worst man. Like show some fight, show some nuts, like nothing, nothing. This is the mouth nightly. And they just roll over and take it. Yeah, it's bad. And I'm not, I'm not enjoying it. I'm not.
00:15:25
Speaker
I've been watching everybody else and the vibes are terrible. like chris It's bad. This team is not even just like the Sixers. but you but things being actually good but I've been saying this for a while, but these stinks and this is the just the biggest highlight of why this E stinks. This season has been a disaster.
00:15:44
Speaker
of just bad basketball in the Eastern Conference. Just terrible. Terrible. Terrible. And it's not just the Sixers. Sixers got the only stuff they deal with. The Bucks look like frickin' dog water. They look like horse manure wrapped up in cow, wrapped up in anything else you can make. What's up with all these animal, uh, animals? Feces, because that's what they are. They're, they're slop. They're trash. And again, hey, six and nine, they got a better shot than us. They started winning some games against the playoffs. We're two and 12. Terrible. Two and 12. We're worse than the Wizards.
00:16:15
Speaker
Terrible. This season, this season is just done. We're worse than the jazz. I think we're just the season right now. Are you calling the season 14 games in? No, they can't do it. I would love to and just say, no, I'd sit them all. Let's go for Cooper flag, but it ain't worth it. 14 games in and we ready to jump. Nothing says Sixers basketball is back more than throwing in the towel before Thanksgiving.
00:16:42
Speaker
There's nothing to throw in. This team's, it's best. If best bet, you're talking about an historic, this will be like an historic thing for them to do. Best case scenario, you get six seed. I'm gonna show the best case scenario. And and it's the best case scenario for you to still have a championship aspiration to succeed. If you're seventh and eighth or ninth team, you play in and you make that first round, ooh, hey, at least you made the playoffs team. hey Yeah, me shoot the playoffs.
00:17:13
Speaker
because right now the six is just like, it's going to be a lot of dog fights every game they play. A lot of them. I think there's got a lot of things he you need to do is the rotation needs to get slimmed out now. Like, let's just, let's just call a spade a spade rotation to get slimmed out. Now, Chris, Chris, I have to be right about the timeouts. Time to cut down a rotation to 12, man. in eight go to ten They already, they already did. They already did a, a very smart thing by sending Jeff doubt in the hell. Yeah. Um,
00:17:41
Speaker
Reggie Jackson, we'll see. It's time for him to either stop playing or we got to figure out like, Hey, we'll see. I don't need to see Kyle Lowry again. It's too late for that. I'm cool. I'm cool. I'm really cool. I mean, we need more Ricky council. Yes. We need, I can't believe I'm about to say this, but they probably need to play council and Oobre together. I like that. They did. They get, they feed off each other a little bit more. They feed off each other. It's basically two of them.
00:18:10
Speaker
I think council's a better shooter than Uber. Uber is more aggressive than council. Max, you gotta get off the limits, rest restriction. Maxi can't be 0 for 10 from the field. eight like joke joke like Joe got off to a decent start, but He slowed down and then like he got out of it when McCain still doing his thing and McCain not passing the ball again. But this rookie, like what do you expect when the rookie, you only got, he's hot and not even he's hot. So it's a one track mind right now. He doesn't, the aspects of the game come to him. not even that bre i've seen but i I've seen him at least be aggressive on defense. He's trying to jump passes. I can at least say he's trying. I'd like the effort.
00:18:51
Speaker
it may not work out but I'm at least like you no but i'm not my thing's not not that's not my thing my thing is like what does it be expect when it comes to the chemistry of where this your spots right the guy's not gonna know your spots dude like he ain't gonna know it like what are we expecting and B's not gonna be like oh yeah McCain's going to know I like it here. I want the ball here. Pick a rule here. Give it to me. You're not going to do it. This is your game ever playing. Maybe, maybe if you got some, maybe if you showed up on time, right? Like this ain't practice. Do you like the same practice? It's not there. If you knew what was going on, Mr. Superstar.
00:19:23
Speaker
Like it's like, come on. And then that's where, that's where another of the bad energy comes from. Cause you started waving your hands and you hit your sides and it's like, come on, man. Y'all gotta be home. Y'all can't beat the Nets who have also about six players hurt right now at home. Yeah. The crowd won't, the crowd won't turn on them. Kill them. Y'all fans, us, we gonna cook them. We gonna cook them early. We might cook them the booze might start as soon as they step to court.
00:19:50
Speaker
If we're being honestly realistic, the team is two and 12. It's not what we expected. Show some fight. and And then if I hear anything out their mouth, I must have made a fancy to be honest. I should shut up. Shut it. Maybe not do podcast. Maybe not be two and 12. Maybe not be terrible. Are you winning the Olympics and can't come compete in the NBA? Come on. he bad baby Maybe make a shot. Maybe have a game plan. Maybe play defense. Let's win games.
00:20:17
Speaker
Maybe maybe show up for once because I'm looking at the Sixers schedule right and i'm all I'm expecting right now One-in-one out of this two-game stretch one-in-one Fine I'll take it. I think we should really we should really be able to go to a note in my head, right Chris After that, I'm just gonna give you their next I mean all their six games total after they they play the Nets Clippers Rockets Pistons Hornets Magic That's the next six game. One, two, three, four, five. That's the next six games. Out of those six, i I can, I would like to say that they should go four and two. Four and two, you're now what? Six and 14 team?
00:21:05
Speaker
You start turning that into, when like you start going, like let's say for every four, every six games you play, you win four and you used to become a four and two team. Now you're eight and four, you're two and 20 and four. Now you're a 10 and 16 team. i' I'm much more confident in that team. If they can go eight and four in their next eight and the next 10 game stretch or whatever 12 game stretch, then I can say right now, where if I say, yo, they, they might not even win the Clippers on Sunday. And that's, that's terrible to even be able to think about. That's terrible. Like this team needs to be better. Like there's no questions if answer, but they have to be better. Paul George needs to, Paul George needs to be able to find the side of the backboard.
00:21:43
Speaker
Paul George needs to be able to stay on the court. Yeah. yeah next Hope his knee is recovering nicely. What next?
00:21:56
Speaker
Where do we go? Where do you go from here? Where do we go from my favorite team in basketball? can keep it only You can only go up because they're at the bottom. We can go up then. Hey, let's talk about.
00:22:09
Speaker
Man, we're not much up. Hey, actually, there is a good news for Colorado

Deion Sanders and Colorado's Prospects

00:22:15
Speaker
fans. They're up right now. Not only Colorado football, Chris. Like Dion Sanders. Dion Sanders will still be at Colorado next season. That's big up news, bro. Well, because they offered him the a worst ah a worse job. Hey, Dion, come fix the capital.
00:22:33
Speaker
No, it's because they got a highly talented recruit. Might be the best quarterback in the class coming in, Julian Willis. He committed to Colorado on the, what was it? Pat McAfee Show, committed to Colorado. For me, it squashes to an extent. The rumors of Deion going to NFL, because even though Deion said he said, I ain't going to NFL, whatever, it squashed some of the rumors for me about him and Shador being a package deal, going to NFL, whatever. It squashes some.
00:23:04
Speaker
What it does for Colorado fans, though, is should say, hey, this team is going to be competitive yet again. Because Lewis is good. ah cra This kid is really good. He's had offers from USC. He he was committed to USC, decommitted after watching them play football this season. It was between Georgia and Colorado. He chose Colorado. That's a huge move because right now, Georgia still has the top recruiting class in all college football.
00:23:29
Speaker
He chose Colorado instead because he went to go to play with the under the standards. He's seen what the other has done with his son. He's hoping to get the same from Deanna. Deanna got his son. He's hoping to get that same type of. Reverie pedigree coaching style to help him.
00:23:45
Speaker
take his step to that it fell as well. There's a good chance they can because this team is good, right? Like this is a team where. Earlier we said, man, this team might not be anything that they're going to be alright. They might be average. We'll never see them. This team might make the comfortable playoffs. They have a real shot. They're 16, right? They gotta win their next two games out, which is Kansas in Oklahoma State. They win those for them to make the playoffs in in retrospect. They gotta be be at BYU in the conference championship.
00:24:13
Speaker
And I think they can do that. I really do. BYU, there's not a lot of comments from me for BYU in the Big 12. I don't have a lot of comments in it. BYU is not a team where they don't put a lot of points on the board. Please don't let them, the teams that they play to Wyoming and Southern Hill, don't let those games fool you. When they play big name schools or teams that can compete with them, they get smoked.
00:24:38
Speaker
Texas beat them 35 to 6. It's a high offense, high power team. Yeah. Texas the best team texas is the best team in football. One of. I want to say the best. One of. All right, one of. When they played Oklahoma State, they lost another ranked team. They barely beat SMU. Barely beat SMU. They lost to Oklahoma State. They beat Oklahoma State. They What are you doing? They won. They did beat Oklahoma State this year. 38-35, barely beat them. Barely. ah so Barely beat them. They beat them.
00:25:08
Speaker
Man, I think that's like, again, that's a game where they barely beat them. Like they weren't being defensive. But they beat SMU, who was ranked at the top. But they beat them. They beat Oklahoma State. They did. They beat UCF. They beat Utah. Yeah, they lost to Kansas. OK, they lost to Kansas. Oh, yeah, they lost to Kansas. Whatever. They got number 21 ranked Arizona State this weekend. And they play Houston.
00:25:39
Speaker
Is there no play Colorado and Colorado Colorado isn't people are high on Colorado because of Colorado because of the name, because of the Travis on it because of Shador Sanders. Yeah, but it's not like Colorado Colorado is Colorado at its core.
00:25:56
Speaker
has gotten better, the offensive line has gotten better, the defensive line has gotten better, but that's still their biggest bigaboo. That's still it, that's still a killing shield still. They got great skill players, they got great slashers on the outside, but if they're losing their trenches to a BYU team, then what? People are gonna be like, oh, whoa, they should've lost to BYU, as if BYU is full of scrubs. I don't um i think you're over-rating Colorado.
00:26:24
Speaker
Just like the rest of the, I think the rest of the country overeats them because of who they are. And I'm not saying that they're a bad team, but are they one of the 12 best teams in the country? Barely. Barely. They're kind of like, all right, you'll appreciate this. You know how when we were like, yeah, Kirk Cousins, he's top 15 or whatever. He's saying there's 14 other guys better than Kirk Cousins. Yeah, but he's top 15. That's how Colorado is.
00:26:50
Speaker
ah therere right the It's Colorado. If they have Deontators as their coach, would we be talking about Colorado as if they were one of the top teams in the country? I don't think so. Yeah, they got Travis Hunter. It's nice. Yeah, they got Shador. He's got, he's, he's, okay he's good. I don't think he's, you know, I think he's number one pick in the draft because of the lack of, you know, quarterback play, like him, Cam Ward.
00:27:21
Speaker
Who else? Who else? When yours. When yours. Even when yours been shanky shaky. Shaky. Shaky. Will Howard's probably going to try. Shaky. Shaky. Shaky. Wow. State's been shaky this year. Carson Beck. Shaky. Georgia's been shaky this year. Yeah. Joe Mero's not in the first round at all. My point exactly. Shador. Shador is there because of his name.
00:27:46
Speaker
I mean, but he's been an excellent quarterback this season. like He's been very good. I'm not saying he hasn't been a a very good quarterback, but is he number one pick in the draft worthy? I don't think so. No, and he might not be. Honestly, they may, they might not again. If you're a team, depending on the draft plays out, I would take tries before I take sure. Okay. Okay. But it depends on who's the team. Like you're the Raiders and you take make the dr you got your quarterback. I'm taking sure. If you're the giants, you got to your quarterback. I'm taking sure.
00:28:14
Speaker
A team that's, I mean, like, if you're the Carolina, you're Carolina. I'm taking store. I'm taking store. He doesn't need all three teams to be a quarterback, Chris. Give me a team that's trash. I don't need a quarterback. Miami. I'm taking alignment. If I'm Miami, I'm probably. I mean, I'd at least think about it. Things should work.
00:28:42
Speaker
You wouldn't think about it? Again, you would think, I don't know. Because I'm not thinking, are we turning two into a backup? Are we having a QB competition? I'm moving. I'm moving. I'm moving. I'm moving. I'm moving. I'm moving. Because now that two has been back, the Dolphins look good again. Again, I think it's a little too late, because obviously, he's missed so many games. But this shows how good two is for that football team. It shows it, even in that loss in his return to the build. OK, OK, OK.
00:29:09
Speaker
How many years is Miami going to do this? Maybe two, maybe two is here, maybe two is not. Fall off a cliff when two is not here thing. Kind of, it's very, it's very six year like. It is though, because of the injuries. Two has the same type of injury history as in me. And in football, you don't get as many opportunities like in basketball. So in football, you can't miss like four to six weeks. And he does because of concussions. And he should be wearing that new improved handling padding, but he won't.
00:29:39
Speaker
So like, I don't know, but if you're the dolphins, I'm not using my first round pick on us or I might wait in the draft a little bit, get another quarterback. Like guys are going to fall. They do. Okay. Sure. But if you're, if you're a team that need, if you're a team that's picking one, like if you're Cleveland, if you're all right, if you're Jacksonville, I'm taking Travis.
00:30:05
Speaker
I'm taking Travis. Does Travis Hunter make that team better? Yes. And what position is Travis Hunter playing in? I don't care. No, no, no. It matters. What position is he playing in? I feel like they're going to tell him wide receiver. Would he honestly? And is he a number one overall pick wide receiver?
00:30:26
Speaker
Yeah. He's a very good corner, though. But I don't think I can see him hanging really in the NFL. Can he hang in the NFL as a corner? Again, the guy's a generational talent. Because he's doing both. Both ends of on the field. and But he can't do both in the NFL. Absolutely not. I don't want to see it. what do you So what are you going to do? You're not going to draft a corner back at one. But you can draft a wide receiver at one if he plays some snaps at corner, which I would never recommend. OK, but I can see him going one. And yes, the Jaguars would need a one wide receiver, a generational talent wide receiver.
00:30:58
Speaker
I like Brian Thomas he's good. He's going to he's going to be a great piece with Travis Hunter because they need that. They need all the weapons and get because honestly speaking they're receiving it course pretty abysmal so they can use that ever being real.
00:31:15
Speaker
jet I'm getting a getting a quarterback. Yeah, OK. I'm getting a quarterback. Yeah, OK. I'm like, that's me personally. I'm getting a QB. And then again, if they get the first pick, I don't i get, I won't get a QB immediately. Mr. Rogers ain't going for that. If I'm the Browns, I'm going to get a quarterback. Of course. If I'm the Titans, I'm going to get a quarterback too. Honestly, almost every low class team is looking like Titans, Browns,
00:31:47
Speaker
Raiders, Jets, Giants, Panthers, I'm going to add a quarterback. The only team I would exclude are Patriots and Jaguars from the conversation on that quarterback. It's the only team teams I would exclude that are all bottom two teams. I don't think I would, I don't even think I would exclude Jacksonville this morning. I think they would get rid of Doug before they get, they would start really thinking about moving off from Trevor Lawrence. Oh, I think they're going to get rid of, I think they're going to get rid of Doug for sure.
00:32:15
Speaker
Yeah, and then I think they'll give Trevor another year. The problem. Yeah, but like, OK, you give him another year to do what? To hope to be better. Hopefully, hope would be better with the new, whoever you bring in. Hope would be better. Is Trevor Lawrence a bust?

Trevor Lawrence: Bust or Letdown?

00:32:34
Speaker
he but Pick one, right? Pick one. Pick one. Yeah, I will call him a bust. No, because he's had, he's been good. He hasn't been terrible. He's won. He can win you football. He ain't been great. But he hasn't been Clemson good. He ain't pay been great at all. he been maybe you been He might be in the bus category. Is he in the Manziel category? No. he So is he more Gino? No. He's better than Gino. He's Eli before the rings. OK. That's not a bus, though. That's just more like he was a let down.
00:33:11
Speaker
Because my eyes is what I think of bust cuz I'm Turner, but no There's a lot. I mean, there's there's way more busts and info Yeah, but i'm um I'm just thinking like those are the names of a nasty bust. I'm thinking me you like you're a terrible Kwame Brown. I'm thinking like dudes like that Will you tell me bust?
00:33:35
Speaker
You didn't say if you had a poor, just a poor start to your NFL career as a and you were first round pick, yeah, but he wasn't. Okay. Okay. okay were like But the, but the, but the, but the recent, the recent reenergization of quote unquote bus quarterbacks is kind of started with Gino, right? Yeah. Kind of started with Gino and you see Darnold and you kind of see Tannehill bounced around, got some success in other places, blah, blah, blah. If I told you Trevor Lawrence is closer to Gino and Darnold know these other guys,
00:34:04
Speaker
that's ah That's a serious letdown, in my opinion. Serious, from where he was,
00:34:12
Speaker
from where we discussed him, Jared coming into this season, or coming into this draft. They said he was ah but greatest general he was the greatest quarterback prospect since Peyton Manning. Yeah. That's a bust. That's a bust, in my opinion. OK.
00:34:31
Speaker
Yeah, because they're really painting like huge. So if I'm Jacksonville, like, yo, all right, I'm i'm paying you huge huge money. I'm calling the Giants and I'm like, yo, listen. Here's a quarterback for you. He's already paid. Let's make a deal. And if you're the Giants. Why are you trying? Like, don't try to sit here and and sell me on a rookie quarterback. Right.
00:34:58
Speaker
I'd rather see what I got with Lawrence because they got pieces around them. I mean, in in the um the trouble the giants they got pieces if they decide to keep table, they got neighbors, they got improved offensive line, they got to improve defense, buth blah, blah, bla blah, blah, blah, whatever. That's a quantum thing is going to be around their neck forever, but.
00:35:17
Speaker
they can They can take a bigger swing and not have to pay Jones and replace Jones with Lawrence. And that team is exp exponentially better. If they had Trevor Lawrence right now instead of Daniel Jones, Giants would probably be like a wild card team. All right.
00:35:41
Speaker
But that's how I fix that's how i fix the Jags. I trade Lawrence. I try to get the number one pick. I go get a quarterback. Then every team besides the Patriots. I'll start over. I don't think I cannot. I wouldn't say I'm out on him already. Like again, he hasn't like he only would play with four games far in the season. I'm just, I'm just saying Drake made it looks a lot like early Mack Jones. That's all I'm saying. Drake, they don't have nothing to throw to. Like he has nothing to throw to. All right, Travis Hunter, get ready to learn Boston.
00:36:15
Speaker
That possible, because I'm like, think about it. Who's drank me throwing the ball to, dude? Like, Hunter Henry. Oh, Kendrick Blar. Oh. Jim. You watch some of these games? And they say we don't know ball. I'm just saying, this is the most like, you know how to play. how you play Matt in franchise mode for too long, and then you start getting these like random auto-generated guys? That's what the Patriots got. Yep.
00:36:46
Speaker
And yeah, I know he throws some interceptions, which he shouldn't be. But again, he's still a rookie. But he's like, out of all the quarterbacks they had, Mack Jones wasn't throwing over 250 yards. Shoot, I don't want to throw 25. Don't forget, Mack Jones famously went a game without throwing

College Tenures of Bo Nix and Michael Penix

00:37:01
Speaker
a pass. Right. Mack Jones ain't running the ball 46 yards for a touchdown, something like that. So I'm not out on Drake May more than I'd be out on Trevor Warren's. Because again, Drake May just got there. I just know, like,
00:37:12
Speaker
If you look at his counterpart again, Bo Nix, and you're like, Bo Nix is having a phenomenal season. Bo Nix, AKA throw picks, books And he does throw instructions, but he ain't throwing that many. He's 14-6. He just destroyed the Patriots. I know, I know, I know. I mean, how could he have an A? Bo Nix is the most veteran rookie that you could find. He played seven years in college. Is he the most veteran earlier? And he's like 38. How old is he for? 24. 24.
00:37:42
Speaker
bonix but about penic all bro bonis was in college when we were in college yeah i thought michael pen's audience michael pals colleges who at college bo but bro nix was in bro bonix was the quarterback after cam new at auburn yeah down yeahfu sir the heart the same a michaelconnics and bo says same they're both oh butexx twenty four michael parents Bro. Bro. Bro. Bro. Bro. Bro. Bro. Bro. Bro. Bro. Bro. Bro. Bro. Bro. Bro. Bro. Bro. Bro.
00:38:12
Speaker
Bowdix was ah a freshman at Auburn at 2019.
00:38:17
Speaker
So technically I was correct that he was in college the same time we were in college. Yes, that's fair where I'm saying that but I thought Michael Pence was the only because he's 24 as well. And i please I'm pretty sure they started around the same time.
00:38:33
Speaker
I'm pretty sure they did. and Anyway, the the the fact is that Bo Nix played a thousand years in college. I'm sorry. I lied. I lied. Michael Penn is done in 2018. So Pennix is a year older than Bo Nix. I think he's turning. He's already twenty turning 25, but Michael Pennix started playing football for Indiana in 2018. He played three. He actually got games played. Nice.
00:38:59
Speaker
Not the yikes. Not the yikes. I said nice. say yeah it was It was the same energy. um what what they what you What you want me to... I don't know. yeah You don't want your rookie being 25 years old? When Kirk comes, he's balling away from the ball? You don't want your rookie to be 25?
00:39:21
Speaker
He Kirk hit the wall the last couple of weeks. Oh man. look It was day. Kergil changes over. Looking real rough. Looking real rough. Yeah. Up the team to the NFL so far. Biggest surprise, obviously, to me as a Steelers.
00:39:40
Speaker
Is there a bigger surprise? I told you about this. I think they're the biggest surprise.

Surprise NFL Teams of the Season

00:39:45
Speaker
OK, for me, I thought they was going to rock out with your boy all season, and I thought they was going to eventually stumble and fall. They got as much usefulness out of your boy as possible, and then sat him where he belonged, holding the clipboard on the sidelines. And they put a real quarterback out there in Russell Wilson. Russell Wilson has yeah Russell Wilson has led this team. Some hard fought victories. that That game in Washington was very good. They beat Baltimore in Pittsburgh.
00:40:19
Speaker
I think they're the biggest surprise. Them, I called the Chargers. I said the Chargers were going to be nice. And now I said they're going to look up and they're going to be like seven and three. And people are going to be like, well, we didn't see this coming from the Chargers. I said that. Go back and listen to the podcast. I said that. Fair.
00:40:36
Speaker
ah
00:40:39
Speaker
I mean, of the of the teams in the NFC, I mean, Washington's a surprise. Arizona's surprisingly, I ain't think that's going to be that good. makes So me the Vikings, Minnesota. I thought Minnesota, I thought Minnesota would be down there like five and five range. You know what I'm saying? Not even that. do We thought with Sam Darnold starting, we thought there was going to be one of the worst computer, the Panthers. I thought it was going to be putting in there, not their competence.
00:41:08
Speaker
You're a competent team. Darnold is I mean, only 27. So I think part of it is like Darnold, like, listen, I got Justin Jefferson. What are we? And then also has J.D. Addison. Like, yeah, I mean, jordan asison I'm sorry. yeah Addison. Thomas is back. And now they got Aaron Jones. Like, I don't know. Like, it ain't horrible. That's all nice. That's nice and all. But he got Justin Jefferson.
00:41:35
Speaker
fair best best I've seen in the league you know the Eagles could have had Justin Jefferson but you know we could have yeah yeah but you but you know I want to keep talking about the stupidity of Philadelphia sports ah so let's talk about let's talk about the the the stupidity of Philadelphia sports sure the Phillies might be able to get one soda but they won't you see that that the temples getting investigated for point shaving yep yep I read a article
00:42:02
Speaker
ah same we say What is going on? What is going on? Same old, same old. What is going on? At his finest. This place sucks. The Eagles aren't the worst. They just aren't. I still am. Alec Bohm was right. He's trying to get out. So I hate this place. Um, again, the Eagles are. Wow. Well, we thought they were. Just they just need to keep.
00:42:30
Speaker
blocking it in, I guess. This is the mindset now is like, you gotta win every day. Please win this. We've sacrificed everything for the Eagles, please. Literally. So like you got to, you play the Rams this upcoming Sunday. We need that one. Then you play what the Ravens, you need that one. I think they're going to, they're going to, they're going to lose. They're going to, they're going to lose. See the Baltimore Pittsburgh. I just don't know who I think it's Pittsburgh.
00:43:00
Speaker
Pittsburgh at home, losing the Pittsburgh at home might be a little. You lose the Ravens at home, you lose the Pittsburgh at home. They they don't put they play the Ravens at Baltimore. Oh, yeah. No, oh no, no. That's what I'm saying. You lose the Ravens at their home. You don't lose the Pittsburgh at your home. I think I'll switch it. I agree with you more so saying that they they could win both. They should win their next three. Should.
00:43:26
Speaker
They should win the next three. Who's the third? Who's the third game, Jerk? The Panthers. They should win the next three. They should beat the Panthers. They should cook. They should win the next three. And then out of the next three, their last four, they should win three out of the four. They probably should win all of them. I mean, if they beat Baltimore in Baltimore, I think they should win all of them. They should win the rest of the season. They should win the rest of the season. They should win that big game. But if they lose to the Rams, and I've already got confidence against the Baltimore, I'm going to be honest with you. They lose to the Rams.
00:43:55
Speaker
It depends on how the game work. It's in LA. It's in LA like. They should beat the Rams. They should be there. They should. They should be there. I don't really see any reason why they shouldn't. They should beat the Rams. They should be competing and having a dog fight versus the Ravens. Speaking of dog fights. Yeah. Let's make some predictions. Let's go.
00:44:22
Speaker
Let's make some predictions for this weekend. NFL is week 11.
00:44:29
Speaker
Tonight's game. You know, we have Pittsburgh, we 12. I don't know what week it is. I don't, I don't know what day it is. Oh, respect. All I know is this, this game's coming up to be played. Yeah. Starting with Cleveland and Baltimore Pittsburgh traveling to Cleveland tonight, Thursday night football, as we record, they kick off in about an hour.
00:44:54
Speaker
in Clement Weather supposedly. Cleveland ain't really got nothing to fight for. I mean, Cleveland ain't got nothing to play for. her No. But pride. Mm-hmm. Jamis out there, your boy.
00:45:09
Speaker
You know, talk to me, Jared. What you thinking? I have the Steelers. You know, my home is the most winning he has a coach, and he's still going to keep winning. He ain't losing now. I mean, but then again, I do want to point out the stat, Chris.
00:45:25
Speaker
don't know if anybody knows, they don't know, you know, the Steelers have never won a divisional game on the road or 30 day football. Yes, I did see that. They're own seven all time and own five at a time. Are they one in five tonight? Quite possibly. They should be one of five tonight. They should be one in five tonight. All right. I agree with you. I think Cleveland still I think Cleveland's a much better team with James than they were with, with your boy, Deshaun Watson. All right. Yeah. Deshaun Watson may never play another snap in the NFL ever again. I would never. I wouldn't. i knew I wouldn't touch him. If I'm a GM, please. But with that being said, Cleveland's, and Cleveland's one of those team that's going to the quarterback next year, would you be, I would not be shocked if they kicked the tires on a Danny Dimes.
00:46:18
Speaker
No, I'm you. You laughing. I'm I'm laughing. I'm both. You laughing but I'm kind of serious. Oh my god. Let's take draft the court. Let's take it into position where they can draft a quarterback. I wouldn't start a quarterback right away. I would I would get the position. They can have a position to draft a quarterback. Yeah.
00:46:34
Speaker
like I'm saying, like, are they going? I mean, well we don't know what what the breakdown is going to be. with they Would they try to get one? I don't even care if they can get the first. I'd rather them wait and then just draft the Miller on the second or third before they go off their damn line. But I'm saying, i'm I'm saying don't start them right away. No. No.
00:46:51
Speaker
Let somebody else go out there and take all them hits. shawa if If you want to know, hell no. Get by. andto pun tea No, get out. Don't. So you have to break Danny dies. I'm going to pay it because you can listen to me out. Hear me out. Him or Jamis, whatever I'm saying and you can pay him cheap.
00:47:10
Speaker
Let them go out there and if you got something, he got something. If you don't, whatever you're not missing, you're not losing anything, but you're not going to throw your investment quarterback out there. Like the, like the 20 other quarterbacks you've been throwing out there since 99 is my point for Cleveland. Okay. I get it. I just know I'd rather get darned because remember that was only a one year deal. Go, go get him. Go pay him. I mean, we'll see what, what, what, what McCarthy going to look like is McCarthy going to be healthy with Minnesota, bring him back. Minnesota might want to bring him back.
00:47:38
Speaker
Well, they do remember. They got to pay more. And if the browser that they want to spend for a QB. Depends on how much dead money they want to eat on. What's your calm contract? A lot. That's why I'm like, they just keep like once again. Wilson. Wilson. Minnesota travels to Chicago to take on the Bears, Jared, who you got. Minnesota. I like Minnesota a lot. I do like what I'm seeing from Kyle Williams more and more, but I miss I was going that game.
00:48:03
Speaker
I think Minnesota is going to win. I do like what what I'm seeing from Caleb. He's had some rough starts, but I like his command of the office, command of the line. He's seeing certain things. He doesn't make, he doesn't make stupid mistakes. He's kind of really kind of, but he he's. What's the word I'm looking for?
00:48:20
Speaker
He's kind of Rogers-esque in a bad way. I mean, like, yeah, he ain't throw no picks. Yeah, he ain't turn the ball over. But like, he 11 for 28 for 145 yards. You know what I'm saying? Like, yeah. Yeah. We're, you know, I would like to see more explosive plays from Caleb in the Bears offense. I think the Bears offense looks better since they fired Shane Waldron. But we'll continue to see how it works against especially a Bryant Flores-led defense.
00:48:50
Speaker
um But I had Minnesota winning as well. Tampa Bay travels to the Meadowlands to take on the Giants, Jared, who you got. Tampa Bay, I mean, there's no way you're telling me we're going to trust DeVito to win you have a football on Tommy DeVito. Load up the gobble goo. You gave me the Buccaneers. Load up the gobble goo. No England travels to Miami to take on the Dolphins who you got. Dolphins.
00:49:19
Speaker
Tennessee travels to Houston to take on the Texans who you got. The Texans. Yeah, it's a divisional game, but I don't have the Texans. Dallas travels to the nation's capital, adjacent to take on the Commanders who you got. The Commanders cause I wasn't done. Hey, at least they had a good draft pick coming up now.
00:49:36
Speaker
ah He's traveled to Carolina to take on the Panthers, Jared. Do the Panthers cover the 10? Hell no. You tripping. You tripping. Panthers covering the 10 and a half. You heard it here first. Panthers plus 10 and a half. Don't take that, Chris. Don't take that. Don't take it. You tripping. You tripping badly. No, no. You tripping badly, guys. Panthers, right? That's the bullshit. That's the dumbest fact.
00:50:10
Speaker
to okay and fuck but you'll never hear to enter this youll never such stupidpi for pet
00:50:22
Speaker
Detroit travels to Indianapolis to take on the Colts who you got Detroit by a mile
00:50:29
Speaker
Last time you said Detroit by a mile. They won by a mile. They won by a mile. I'm trying. They won by a mile. You, you. I've been hit with the by a mile game so far too. I really have been. All right. I want to, I want to, I want to say Andy will keep it close, but I'm not really as kind of a game. No interceptions. Hey, hey, do it back to back. I'm more confident. I'm more confident in this, in this Carolina plus 10. Listen, I'm telling you.
00:51:01
Speaker
Anthony Richardson don't know how to put two games together back to back, no exceptions. He don't know how to do that. so you know someone Someone said Anthony Richardson on every drive goes. Someone said he played like if you asked him if you tried to remember how Cam Newton played like from memory and that's hilarious to me. Yeah. I'm telling you, he looked just like him. He's not working here, Cam. He looked like Carolina at the end with the Dreds camp. Oh, that's why he cut his off.
00:51:31
Speaker
Denver travels to Vegas to take on the Raiders. Jared, you got Denver Raiders thing. Niners. Niners travel to green Bay to take on the Packers. Jared, you got Packers. The Niners most surprising shakeup ever. But again, this is what happens when you lose the best running back you've ever had.
00:51:55
Speaker
You know, you know taking the having the Niners be dogs is very enticing. That's all I'm going to say. You don't want to take that two and a half, two and a half. That's all. It's three right now. But all I'm going to say is it's very enticing.
00:52:11
Speaker
kind of ah Arizona travels to Seattle to take one of the Seahawks. Jared, have you got it? Seattle? No. It's basically a pickle.
00:52:29
Speaker
Seattle. Cause Karen is going to buy Cardinals. You mean I'm sorry. Yeah. Cardinals got to buy Cardinal coming off the body going to Seattle. Honestly, so I got a quarter here off for me. That's let's, let's, let's add Siri heads as Arizona tails in Seattle. Hey Siri heads of tails.
00:52:57
Speaker
Tails. Siri takes Seattle. There we go. There we go. Eagles traveled to SoFi to take on the Rams, Jared, who you got. Eagles. And the Ravens traveled to SoFi on Monday Night Football to take on the Chargers, Jared, who you got.
00:53:18
Speaker
The Ravens. Thought she was going to take the Chargers. No, I was thinking know that pause, that pause game. Is that the last game? That is the last game. But then I remember there's like he a a lot of buys this week. There is. Because like, I was like, don't the Bengals play somebody? I'm like, no, they don't. They want to buy.
00:53:41
Speaker
But yeah, that was it. I got the Ravens. they They can't lose another game like that. Yeah, we're pretty chalky. We're pretty much in agreement on a lot of these games. The bi-weeks for teams really hurt you. Because then you've got to look at all these games, and you're like, you mean a lot of these games suck. Karanana plus 10 is where, you know, Karanana, hold on. Karanana plus 10.
00:54:06
Speaker
oh Let's do Colts plus 10.

NFL Game Predictions & Thanksgiving Plans

00:54:12
Speaker
And Seattle running on. There we go. All right. I like that. let's That's a little three-legged parlay. We'll surely forget about this by Sunday when we talk about ah what we did. I won't even be touching that. Won't even won't even be talking about that. Can I have a son? I'm not might even touching that. Can I have a son? You heard of your first race. All right. OK. Well, let's post it in Carolina. Can I say minus 14? Geez.
00:54:38
