Introduction and Hyperfixations

00:00:00
Speaker
Welcome to Fixate Today Gone Tomorrow. I'm Nikki, and I am not here with my Aunt Joy. am a neurodiverse lady, and I am letting our hyperfixations fly.
00:00:11
Speaker
Joy is still autistic, and I have ADHD.

Updates on Micah Francis Miller Case

00:00:14
Speaker
Today, i am fixating on the death of Micah Francis.
00:00:28
Speaker
Hey everyone, it is just me for this episode. Joy is on a mother-sister's trip with my mom, my aunts, and my grandma, but we didn't want to wait too, too much longer to put out an update episode on the Micah Francis Miller case.
00:00:42
Speaker
A lot has gone on since our last update, so let's get into it. My sources for this episode are Fitz News, Robbie Harvey, Crime and Cask News, WPDE News, and the True Sunlight Podcast.
00:00:58
Speaker
Okay, so I think I'm going to take this episode, all the events that have happened um in the last few months, topic by topic, so they might not be chronological, but I'll try to give context with dates and things like that.

Controversial Events and Legal Developments

00:01:11
Speaker
So the first thing I want to talk about is Micah's alleged 2018 suicide attempt. So if you'll remember, allegedly Micah had a previous suicide attempt. She spoke about it in Africa, and JP mentioned previous attempts in different documentation over the years.
00:01:29
Speaker
JP's story was that Micah stole his credit card and bought a gun with it. She went to the backyard, fired the weapon, and then turned it on herself, and the gun jammed. He said that neighbors called the police, who picked her up and brought her to a mental hospital.
00:01:43
Speaker
Well, witnesses have come forward. Some former neighbors spoke to Robbie Harvey and said that no one has mentioned or remembers any shots being fired in their neighborhood ever And there's no official police report about the incident.
00:01:59
Speaker
So I think when we talked about it before, we kind of talked about, I don't think this incident happened, at least the way that JP has spun it. And I think Micah used the incident perhaps as a way of telling her grace story to people to try to bring them to Jesus.
00:02:19
Speaker
Or she was kind of convinced that it happened this way. But I appreciate that people have come forward and that there's no police report about it. um There would definitely be a police report.
00:02:30
Speaker
All right, let's talk about the coercive control bill in South Carolina. This happened in the end of April 2025. I haven't seen any updates about it, but to be honest, my kids just got out of school and I haven't looked too hard because we've been kind of busy, but you know.
00:02:46
Speaker
So South Carolina Senator Stephen Goldfinch filed a criminal coercive control bill. Micah's sister, Anna Francis, said that she hopes the bill will allow others to find help and resources that Micah couldn't.
00:02:59
Speaker
The bill defines coercive behavior as, quote, things like acts of assault, threats, and humiliation between a present or past intimate partner or household member.
00:03:10
Speaker
It would make coercive control a felony conviction with a penalty of up to 10 years in prison. The bill explains unseen abuse and controlโ€” and that things done to cause fear or result in mental distress is a part of coercive control and is abusive.
00:03:24
Speaker
It's also meant to be a tool for police to identify abuse. Attorney Regina Ward and Anna Francis gave Abigail Francis the credit for getting the bill to Senator Goldfinch.
00:03:35
Speaker
All right, let's get into lawsuits. First, we're going to talk about Wayne Miller. On May 28th, 2025, Horry County Clerk of Court Renee Elvis entered orders of default against Wayne Miller.
00:03:49
Speaker
Wayne and the churches he led didn't respond to the lawsuits that had been filed by the Jane Doe's alleging sexual assault within the 30-day deadline. As we know, the Millers love having bajillions of churches and different names.
00:04:02
Speaker
So the churches listed in the lawsuit were Cathedral Baptist Church, All Nations Cathedral Church, Cathedral Hall Academy, also known as Grand Strand Academy.
00:04:13
Speaker
He now owes damages to both of the Jane Does. The next step is a hearing on unliquidated damages, which is basically an evidentiary hearing to determine the amount of the damages he'll have to pay.

Marriage, Motives, and Investigations

00:04:25
Speaker
JP did respond, so his part of the lawsuits is still going forward. All right, let's talk like the biggest news. JP and Susie got married.
00:04:38
Speaker
ah Okay, let's talk about it. JP had claimed that he and Susie didn't start dating until January 2025. At the end of May, Susie was seen wearing a diamond ring.
00:04:50
Speaker
At the time, different sources came forward saying that Susie wasn't really looking healthy. And another source told Robbie Harvey that JP, quote, continues to make her walk behind him.
00:05:02
Speaker
And I keep thinking about this quote because there is a picture that he is mugging at that camera and she is definitely behind him. He's kind of pulling her along. ah One of their wedding pictures on the beach.
00:05:14
Speaker
It could just be a random candid shot, don't get me wrong, but that's what I keep thinking about when I hear that quote. The happy couple tied the knot on June 1st, 2025 in a small beach ceremony.
00:05:27
Speaker
Neither of their children were in attendance, none of their kids. But Trisha Ross and Wayne were both there. We're working on a video about the timeline of JP and Susie's relationship Whatever the relationship actually is.
00:05:42
Speaker
And I think we can speculate to a lot of reasons why they could be married. I think they think spousal privilege, but spousal privilege doesn't come into effect until you're actually married. So anything prior to the marriage isn't isn't protected.
00:05:58
Speaker
They could also have been married for a long time. And this is the public event that is going to, I don't know, like trick people to thinking that they haven't been married. And that would mean the spousal privilege would begin whenever they truly got married or they can't read a room. And you know what?
00:06:20
Speaker
I just feel like if you're going to get married when you're under all of this scrutiny, Maybe let's not do it publicly unless there's a different there's a re there has to be a reason they're doing this publicly. I don't know.
00:06:32
Speaker
I know Joy has feelings about this, too. So I want to and don't want to speculate too much because I don't want to speak for her. So let's move on. OK, so the bulk of this episode is going to talk about Chris Skinner's death investigation being reopened.
00:06:45
Speaker
If you'll remember, Chris Skinner was Susie's husband who tragically passed away at a local neighborhood pool when he rolled into the pool while he was in his wheelchair, his electric wheelchair.
00:06:59
Speaker
So Robbie Harvey claimed that Susie had a life insurance policy on Chris, but it doesn't pay out for self-inflicted deaths within the first two years of the policy, meaning it had to be ruled an accident to get the payout.
00:07:13
Speaker
On the scene, Susie told police that there was a DNR, but she couldn't produce it. We have video now that shows she ran to her house to try to find the DNR the whole time while Chris was in the ambulance.
00:07:25
Speaker
And instead of going in the ambulance with him, she waited for Micah and JP for 40 minutes at the scene shooting. The accident. And then she first went to her house and not the hospital. She did eventually get to the hospital, but it sounds like she wasn't sure which hospital that he was at.
00:07:44
Speaker
According to her sister-in-law, they went to the wrong hospital at first, which can be just truly your grief. It's so sudden and your world is flipped upside down suddenly and it's grief and you're not thinking. So I want to give her the benefit of the doubt of that for sure.
00:07:58
Speaker
Some people have come forward saying she allegedly told people there was a suicide note and Micah was one of the people she told this to. So we have some audio from Susie in 2023 saying Chris drove too close to the edge and fell and She said he suffered a lot in the 21 years of being paralyzed, and he was excited for heaven and getting a new healed body. We've talked about this before. I'm a Christian, and part of what I do believe is that when you go to heaven, your body is healed, and you do get a new body, and you're not in pain.
00:08:30
Speaker
And I can understand how someone in chronic pain would feel that this could be a solution and a celebration almost, um if that makes sense. But I hope it's not um anybody using that as a justification for anything.
00:08:46
Speaker
So Susie said that Jesus was in the water with Chris and he was never alone. So according to some other some newer witnesses who have come forward or some uncovered documents, JP allegedly made promises to Susie to be with her forever one day.
00:09:01
Speaker
Many witnesses have since said that Susie stopped caring for Chris as she had been in the past and and was almost pushing him, encouraging him about this new heavenly body.
00:09:12
Speaker
However, during all of this, JP texted people in the last year saying that Susie was too old for him, which is disgusting. The death investigation reopened, and on February 5th, 2025, an investigator had an interview with Susie.
00:09:26
Speaker
Okay, I'm just going to... I have feelings, but Joy also has feelings. So I don't want to be completely biased because this is our podcast together. This isn't just my voice. This is her voice too.
00:09:41
Speaker
so i'm going to try really hard just to kind of say, just just speak about the facts of this investigation interview. There are a couple points that I am going to probably say how I feel. I'm going to try really hard to balance that with how I think Joy feels and Yeah, I just don't want to like take over with my big feelings.
00:10:01
Speaker
I've talked about it on the pod before. i i have some we've talked about it on the podcast before. My father died by suicide. I have big feelings that I think get mixed into this sometimes.
00:10:13
Speaker
But I also think I have a unique perspective about this. So I just want to say that up front. Please don't take anything that is kind of my opinion as

Personal Opinions and Family Perspectives

00:10:22
Speaker
also Joy's opinion. Because we, I mean, we have we have gotten intense with one another about this. So I just want to make that very, very clear.
00:10:31
Speaker
This is our podcast. This is my opinions don't necessarily reflect hers. So keep that mind, please. All right. So this is an audio recording of the interview. At the beginning, she just seems really bothered.
00:10:43
Speaker
um But it also could be nerves. Some people could just have a different air to them when they're nervous. The investigator does read her Miranda rights to her. So she understands her rights differently.
00:10:56
Speaker
And he asks, like, ah you know, about speaking freely. And she says, like, why wouldn't she be willing to speak freely? She is confused about why they're reading Miranda rights, which I would be, too. I'd be like, I under arrest?
00:11:06
Speaker
Throughout the recording and any recordings relating to investigators, there have been a couple ah interviews that have been released. Names are always redacted, so they're beeped out.
00:11:17
Speaker
But with context, it's simple to figure out who it is. But just keep that in mind. So the investigator tells Susie that Chris's family contacted the coroner's office and they believe that his death was not an accident.
00:11:30
Speaker
The interview is to provide clarification. And they have already spoken to quite a few people about his mental health, his physical health, their relationship. And most of those people don't believe that it was an accident.
00:11:43
Speaker
She almost immediately gets very upset Like angry level upset. Susie said that she's a spinal cord specialist. ah That's what she does for physical therapy.
00:11:54
Speaker
She goes into like a very detailed description of the muscles that Chris is able to use and how he was able to physically use his wheelchair.
00:12:06
Speaker
She says that he forgot to take his evening medications that night. And he did take his morning medications, the same as usual. But it seems like if he didn't take his nighttime medications, he would kind of stay up.
00:12:17
Speaker
And I know for me, with all my mental health stuff, not sleeping in the middle of the night by yourself is when intrusive thoughts really can ramp up. So I I think that's what she was suggesting with that.
00:12:31
Speaker
She said he would take the dog for a walk every day, and he started falling asleep on these walks about once a week. But he did go to the same spot every day.
00:12:41
Speaker
So if someone was around the pool area, they would let him in. He would play on his phone and kind of just rest and and take a break. She said she hasn't seen the video surveillance footage of what happened.
00:12:52
Speaker
Her best guess is that he fell asleep, and she's very emotional right now. She's... she is discussing how she was really the only one who was caring for him not his family and she knew he was sad and having a hard time when investigators ask why they think this is being brought up again she said nothing's changed since 2021 and it's the youtubers who have brought it back susie says that tamra who is chris's sister was is mad at her Susie didn't want her talking to the kids.
00:13:23
Speaker
Susie also says he did everything he could to be strong for the kids. But she told Tamara not to talk about, you know, the potential that this was a suicide to the kids.
00:13:33
Speaker
And that the reason Tamara went to the coroner and the media is because she was upset with Susie for this. um Prior to this interview, Tamara and Susie talked a few weeks ago and she blocked her after Susie alleges that Tamara told her daughter about the potential of Chris's death not being an accident.
00:13:52
Speaker
Susie said that since like 2015, he started, he had he was making comments about how hard life was and being in pain and things like that. And it wasn't really anything new by 2021. In 2017, he started getting wounds, like bed sore type of things. It would be painful to be in the bed on his side.
00:14:12
Speaker
but he would have to be positioned certain ways to let the wounds heal. She says that he said, quote, I am so paralyzed I can't even kill myself. She said the day before his death, he was playing volleyball with his daughter and watching football and it was a normal day.
00:14:27
Speaker
She says that he did say once that the only thing he could do to end his own life was to drive into the pool. She says he did not have these conversations with their kids. It was just like venting to his wife about how hard things were.
00:14:42
Speaker
In this interview, she says that she doesn't know if there is a note, but he'd have to use his computer or his phone. And he would most likely use his phone because he even he was even starting to get wounds when using the computer.
00:14:54
Speaker
So Susie, an ongoing theme is how furious Susie is that Tamara told her daughter about the suicide. Susie said she doesn't want her daughter to think her dad abandoned her or think badly of her dad.
00:15:06
Speaker
The investigator asks about... Text messages from 2021 about the death not being an accident. Susie can't recall any of these, but she says like her you know she had friends who asked, but that was it.
00:15:19
Speaker
He was exhausted and in pain, and it was dark, but he used to he would turn around these dark moments. He would vent and then feel better after venting. She never thought he would do it, but as we know, is not possible to know the depths of someone's despair.
00:15:36
Speaker
She says she slept on a blow-up mattress by the couch because it was too painful for him to sleep in their bed. And he could get more comfortable on the couch than the bed. Now, this is when I have some feelings that I'm trying to have some grace, but it's very difficult.
00:15:51
Speaker
Susie tells suzie gets very upset again. She says that she wants Chris to be remembered as an amazing person. And she wants to know what the goal of this is, reopening the investigation. And she says she wants to know if the goal of reopening the investigation is making him look like a, quote, loser.
00:16:07
Speaker
who left his family. this This upset me a lot, and I'm trying not to let that cloud my judgment of what is going on. The thought of somebody dying by suicide is a loser who abandoned his family, and that if he did die by suicide, that makes it so he won't be remembered as an amazing person.
00:16:29
Speaker
is appalling to me. I'm trying to stay i'm trying to stay unbiased and and recognize that a lot of my own stuff is coming into that. But that is a really difficult thing for me to get past, and I'm i'm really doing my best.
00:16:46
Speaker
um Yeah, when somebody's in the depths of pain like that, i think it is deeply unfair and even selfish to say those things about about him.
00:16:56
Speaker
don't know. don't know. It's a bigger conversation, I think. So let's go on. Susie said that Chris and Tamara didn't like each other and that he would have to prepare himself to see her She said that the relationship with their with his mother was good.
00:17:13
Speaker
Their father lived with them, and she said he was annoying, but it was fine. She said that he ah Chris shared everything with his mom and that Tamara held grudges from childhood.
00:17:25
Speaker
In the last year of his life, they had been doing better, though. They'd been seeing each other in smaller doses, but they'd still be very frustrated with each other. We'll get into Tamara's response to this a little bit later, but she refutes this.
00:17:38
Speaker
She says Chris loved his dad, but he was odd, not like a parental figure, and he didn't help care for Chris. The investigator says that it's weird that someone is fighting that this isn't a suicide and not the other way around, and that this is all because Tamara says Susie is covering things up.
00:17:57
Speaker
Susie just kind of wants everything to rest. He's in heaven with Jesus, and that should be it. Then she gets into more of his physical stuff again. he would pass out a lot. He had low blood pressure, but he took his medication that morning.
00:18:08
Speaker
So it probably wasn't that, but we can't really be sure. If his hand was on the joystick when he fell asleep, he wouldn't know. And even his mother alluded to that, that the chair was incredibly sensitive.
00:18:20
Speaker
The investigator tells Susie that he hopes this is the end of it.

Family Dynamics and Initial Suspicions

00:18:25
Speaker
But Susie goes on to talk about Tamara, saying that she didn't communicate her love to Chris. She called him selfish and said hateful things.
00:18:33
Speaker
The investigator thinks, well, at least tells her. I don't know he thinks it. But tells Susie that he thinks that Tamara probably got caught up in all of these YouTube theories. So that's the end of the interview with her.
00:18:45
Speaker
But let's go on to some of the other things with the reinvestigation. re investigation March 20th, 2025, an article from Fitz News came out, and it claims that Allison Williams' affidavit from last May played a part in reopening the investigation, and the surveillance video was released with this.
00:19:04
Speaker
The reports from the Myrtle Beach Police Department in the corner conflicted from the time. The coroner did not order an autopsy and declared the death accidental based on interviews with the investigating officer.
00:19:17
Speaker
There were no independent witness interviews, no evidence reviewed, and no photos taken at the scene. The coroner's report indicates that the wheelchair got too close to the pool and the wheel slipped. Myrtle Beach PD said that the chair lunged suddenly into the pool.
00:19:32
Speaker
Chris's sister Tamara McDermott released a statement on behalf of his parents and the whole family. um saying that they complied with the reinvestigation, that there is questions so about an individual who was at the scene of the death.
00:19:48
Speaker
And they don't say it, but they're talking JP. And they have questions for what, who she calls Chris's former spouse, which is Susie. And the attention that is on this case right now stems from Susie's association with JP.
00:20:02
Speaker
They wanted to let their kids know that they love them and they've been kept from them based on cooperation with authorities. They're hoping to reconcile and they're cooperating out of love for Chris.
00:20:14
Speaker
So since Micah's death, more witnesses have come forward um speaking about Chris's death and investigators have learned more information about 2021. On May 5th, 2025, Tamara McDermott's interview with Fitz News aired.
00:20:29
Speaker
She kind of gives her side or and not even her side, her perspective of things. um On the day of Chris's death, they were actually planning a cookout because it was Labor Day weekend. And Tamara was texting with Chris and Susie making plans.
00:20:42
Speaker
Two or three hours after Chris was taken away in the ambulance, a neighbor called Tamara to tell her what happened. And he had been told to call her. She dropped everything and met up with her dad at Chris and Susie's house. Then they joined Susie and the kids at the hospital.
00:20:58
Speaker
JP was at the house all day that day, and she said it felt like he was inserting himself into their family time. It was strange to her family, but she knew it was comforting for some to have a faith leader in the house.
00:21:10
Speaker
In December 2024, her family got access to surveillance footage from the pool, and they didn't know that JP had been on the scene at all that day. They just knew he had been at their house.
00:21:21
Speaker
She said she never truly believed it was an accident, but she thought it was kind of a denial thing. Family conversations were kept behind the scenes because they wanted to keep a good relationship with Susie and Chris's children.
00:21:34
Speaker
She says she and her family learned about the alleged affair between JP and Susie with the rest of the world, And when the news started rolling out, people began contacting Tamara. Two former church members and friends of Micah's told Fitz News to look into Chris's death.
00:21:49
Speaker
Another witness who told Tamara that he spoke to Chris said that Chris told him he would be confronting the pastor. And this person is a trusted source to the family. It's somebody they've known most of their lives.
00:22:02
Speaker
There was a clear change in 2021 in Chris's demeanor, she says. Tamara says that she always admired and was grateful for Susie, but Chris wasn't receiving the level of care he needed at this point.
00:22:16
Speaker
One witness said Chris told Susie he was struggling with losing hope and that she was trying to get him to accept that he wouldn't walk again. Chris's whole life was built on her caring for him, and it seemed like she had checked out.
00:22:30
Speaker
I will say there is the burden of being a caregiver is heavy. And I, to some extent, understand her. If she did check out a bit, that's necessary.
00:22:44
Speaker
But there are definitely ways to get help. I know even when you're a primary caregiver, it still is the weight of the world is on you. So I want to give space for that. But it sounds like she didn't reach out to the family, at least, for more help. I don't know for sure, of course.
00:23:02
Speaker
In 2021, before Chris's death, he wasn't going to Solid Rock Church anymore, but Susie and the kids still were. Another witness said that Chris thought the pastor had a crush on Susie.
00:23:14
Speaker
Around the same time that he said this, he said that Susie had stopped bathing him. and he was planning to tell JP to stay away from his family. And there is text message proof about this conversation.
00:23:25
Speaker
The witness said that Chris had been talking about pain and depression and being a burden. He knew that Susie was burned out, and he couldn't take that anymore. Another witness, who is a person close to Chris and Susie, saw the early relationship with JP Chris would confide in this witness that he was struggling in the marriage, and Susie told the witness that she was burned out and fantasized about leaving him and starting a new life with JP.
00:23:52
Speaker
This witness said JP, quote, "...aggressively inserted himself into Chris's life," and that there was a persistent pattern that he was always around. JP even allegedly jokingly suggested that it we be that it would be beneficial if they could remotely control Chris's chair.
00:24:11
Speaker
He would regularly adjust and maneuver the chair for Chris. And the model of the chair he had could be controlled remotely. Chris didn't know how close JP and Susie were, but he sensed that Susie was emotionally detaching from him.
00:24:27
Speaker
This witness told Chris to stay away from JP. And again, there's text message proof of this. So Tamara in the corner had a conversation Tamara then approached the police chief to talk about the case after social media people began calling her.
00:24:42
Speaker
So that was the impetus for the reinvestigation ah happening. So if we go back to 2021 now at the scene... Susie told officials that there was no family in town, but the coroner's office and the police art knew this wasn't true.
00:24:56
Speaker
Tamara says that there are discrepancies in the facts presented in the report. No witnesses spoken to, and the investigators didn't watch video or listen to audio before the report. detectives said that they reviewed the camera to and Detectives said that they reviewed the camera and determined that it wasn't suicide.
00:25:14
Speaker
But in an interview in January 2025, the coroner still hadn't seen the video. The report says that a wheel got too close to the pool and slipped in, but the video does not match up.
00:25:26
Speaker
So Tamara says that Regina Ward actually brought up a point to the family saying that if it was an accident, why wasn't the wheelchair kept in evidence and looked at more closely?
00:25:37
Speaker
If it was an accident, it needed to be repaired. Or if it was going to be given to somebody else or passed along or whatever. That's not great. So the wheelchair was released to a friend who brought it to Susie, and she then donated it.
00:25:50
Speaker
So it's a little concerning if there was a malfunction that it's been passed along to someone else now. Tamara says that she's been cyberbullied and retaliated against since coming forward. The main sources of this have been JP and a man whose name they didn't share.
00:26:07
Speaker
But we know this man pled guilty to something having to do with COVID loan fraud. i tried so hard to figure out who this could be, and I got nothing. So if any if anyone smarter than me can figure out who this other man is, that would be awesome.
00:26:22
Speaker
Tamara said that she's only met JP once and it was at Chris's funeral that he officiated at Susie's request. He barely spoke to her and her family. So I've never heard of this website, but from Crime and Cask News, there's an article from April 2nd, 2025, and JP responds to Tamara's interview.

Defenses, Allegations, and Recorded Statements

00:26:44
Speaker
So I'm going to read some of the quotes from JP and then... um If warranted, read Tamara's response to JP's response. um So the first quote is, quote, over the past year, i have seen and read hundreds of lies about myself.
00:27:01
Speaker
I'm waiting and preparing to defend myself against harm caused to my reputation, career, or emotional well-being from zealous people, certain social media personalities, news, etc.
00:27:12
Speaker
Quote, people say I should defend myself online and prove that what's being said is a lie and show proof that what I say is truth and I can, he added. But I believe that would only fuel their evil, ungodly gossip...
00:27:25
Speaker
And strife that are in the world. Okay, fine. Whatever. Now he is going for the jugular at Tamara. Quote, Tamara McDermott has been waiting all her life to get attention as some sort of victim.
00:27:38

Tammy's five ex-husbands and all the jobs she's been unable to keep just shows how unstable she is. Tamara's only response to this is her brother is the victim and that's not her.
00:27:50
Speaker
J.P., quote, her statements raise several ethical concerns as a licensed professional counselor such behavior by tama may violate the aca code of ethics which stresses maintaining professionalism and respect in all interactions JP, quote, Tammy doesn't like that Chris was a strong, faithful man of God who was able to accomplish more as a quadriplegic than Tammy could ever imagine.
00:28:17
Speaker
It seems to equally disturb Tammy, who claims to be a therapist, that Chris's wife was able to care for him, raise twins, work full time, and serve Jesus as well. Tamara's response is that she's a Christian, and she was so proud of her brother for being a strong man of faith, and that this is just a mean statement.
00:28:36
Speaker
And we know that JP can be just mean sometimes. That was Nikki's response to Tamara's response to JP's response. JP, quote, Tamra responded saying that their other brother suicide,
00:28:50
Speaker
tammy uses lies to try and make herself the strong sibling which everyone knows is untrue chris was such a wise man that he never allowed tammy to be around his family tamma responded saying that their other brother did not die by suicide but she has lost both of her brothers And this statement just shows the lack of empathy for her two parents losing their two sons. And they, as his family, and I agree with this completely, they are allowed to ask questions.
00:29:16
Speaker
JP, quote, he was just as happy and fun and outgoing as he always was. Chris only had wonderful things to say to me. On top of that, Chris himself was a wonderful counselor.
00:29:27
Speaker
He excelled in communication and made everyone he talked to feel like a million dollars. So Tamara responds saying that they were actually talking about doing a podcast together. Chris wasn't an actual licensed counselor, but he was a spiritual leader and she was licensed and they thought it would be a good combination.
00:29:44
Speaker
um Yeah, to to kind of share their information and things like that. JP, quote, seeing that God specifically tells us to take care of the widows and orphans, it makes me very scared for Tammy, how God will react to her attacking her brother's widow and his two orphan children.
00:30:02
Speaker
All Tammy responded with is they're allowed to ask questions. It's not an attack. JP, quote, Tamara should know that Susie and I didn't start dating until January of 2025, just like she stated under oath last month, he said.
00:30:17
Speaker
In fact, it was Micah who asked if we should invite Susie and her twins to go on a ski vacation, and we did so in December 2022. So Tamara says that this is just JP, like, wanting to make sure he knows that they started dating in 2025.
00:30:32
Speaker
Tamara says that um sources have told her that Micah had learned about the things going on and that her divorce attorney is likely has a lot more information about this. So we've talked a little bit about this before, and I feel weird talking about it because i really don't want to talk about their kids.
00:30:46
Speaker
um But I did confirm that this was real. that there is an image of a prayer board from Chris and Susie's daughter that predates 2025 that mentions JP on it.
00:30:58
Speaker
So I think people knew things were strange before the official dating date started. JP, quote, Susie even worked as a youth leader working under Maka.
00:31:11
Speaker
That's when we learned that Susie had her first relationship after Chris's death. She dated a worship leader at the church for a short time. JP quote, For Channel 13 or any other so-called news organizations to repeat such misinformation is disheartening and sad.
00:31:28
Speaker
Again, whatever. Quote, Suzy Skinner took care of her quadriplegic husband for 20 years with unwavering love and dedication, he said. She supported him in every area of life, physically, emotionally, and spiritually, while raising twins and working full-time.
00:31:44
Speaker
I love Tamara's response to this because little sassy and she's just like, they were married 17 years, not 20.
00:31:52
Speaker
JP, quote, it's heartbreaking that someone who never once stepped up to care for her own brother would choose now to attack the person who kept him healthy, loved, and safe. That's a sad reflection, not on Susie, but on Tamara.
00:32:05
Speaker
Tamara responded that there's text message proof that she would come anytime he called for help, that she did care for him, that their mother took incredible care of him. And for her, and I agree, for her, this that it's more hurtful alleging that their mother didn't do everything she could for him.
00:32:25
Speaker
JP, quote, Susie even opened her home to Tamara's father, allowing him to live with them and cared for him as well. While Susie was carrying the full weight of caregiving and motherhood, Tamara was off getting married again and again.
00:32:38
Speaker
That's the truth. JP, quote, Tamara, it's time to honor Chris's memory and respect his wishes. He made it clear in life that he wanted peace and privacy for his family from you.
00:32:50
Speaker
Leave this family alone, as Chris wanted, without further disruption. It is time to let them be. So, yes, Susie did text Tamara to stop talking about Chris's death and said that Chris didn't want Tamara around him and his family.
00:33:05
Speaker
Tamara thinks this is maybe a little bit of projection. And that she has proof that their relationship was fine. All right, let's go past whatever JP has to say. So Tamara says that it was actually her parents who wanted this reinvestigated.
00:33:19
Speaker
And that Tamara's kind of taken the role of being the voice in the family. Which also means she's taken the brunt of the fallout. So as part of the interview, they played audio clips from just kind of statements from Chris's father and mother.
00:33:34
Speaker
So we'll start with Chris's father. and this recording they played, um it said that Chris didn't like his church and had a problem with the pastor and that he had wanted to live long enough to make it to his kid's graduation. And he felt that there were certain people preventing him from making this happen.
00:33:52
Speaker
So that was that was that from his father. um But from his mother, this is heartbreaking and longer, but going walk through it. She said that he knew his paralysis made things hard on his family, and she had been on call for them both.
00:34:08
Speaker
Chris and Susie, and she listed the ways that she's helped. She'd ask him if he needed help with like washing his hands and his face, things like that. She said he wasn't getting showers anymore, and she offered to help with that. He had been wearing dirty, torn pants for a week. and it wasn't part of the She said part of the reason why his pants would tear the transfers from like wheelchair to the couch or moving him. Sometimes his clothing would get caught, but she bought him new pants.
00:34:38
Speaker
He told her that he knew he could always get help from her and Tamara if he ever needed it. Chris's mother said that she was with him from 1030 a.m. to 230 p.m. every weekday during the last summer.
00:34:52
Speaker
um He had those pressure sores we talked about that needed to recover. On September 2nd, 2021, Chris called asking for KFC. And he did like the son to his mother thing of being like, I'm starving, hurry. And it was just silly.
00:35:05
Speaker
But when she got there, he was not his normal self. um She said he was down and felt purposeless. She told him that their kids needed him and God does have a purpose for him.
00:35:17
Speaker
He told his mother that he was lonely and it felt like people were pulling away from him. He hadn't gone to church in months because he didn't like the pastor, and he lost church friends because of this. He did attend Solid Rock Church on September 5th and returned angry.
00:35:34
Speaker
i think this is the day that he confronted JP, but I'm not sure. i think i didn't realize he hadn't been going to Solid Rock for months, and then he went the Sunday before he died.
00:35:48
Speaker
So i just... That's weird. His mother said that he wanted to live long enough to see his kids hit his hit their milestones and that he just couldn't live without his family. So in an article, JP did confirm that Chris went to church the day before his death.
00:36:03
Speaker
So I guess I did know that somewhere, but there's so much in my brain about this. And then like... I get, I can't remember new things because my brain is so full of musical li or theater lyrics and like information about true crime and all the things.
00:36:19
Speaker
And so there's no room for anything different. I can't do math. It's all musical theater. But back to this. Tamara never brought up that Chris went to church the Sunday before he died because she didn't want to imply anything.
00:36:31
Speaker
JP and Susie's choice to go into public together after Micah's death is what opened the door for the speculation. Not anyone in Chris's family speaking out. Tamara says for their family, justice is God's will playing out.
00:36:43
Speaker
And they just want the truth. It's up to God to hold people accountable. After this interview, Tamara said she will no longer be speaking publicly. She has to return to her own life. She says she will continue advocating but will not be speaking out any longer.
00:36:57
Speaker
So we're going move on to a different interview. On May 29, 2025, gentleman that referred to as Witness 1, his interview with Myrtle Beach PD was released Fitz News. his interview was released with myrtlebe his interview with martle beach pb was released by fitz new Again, like with Susie's interview, names are redacted. It's beeps.
00:37:18
Speaker
We need some context clues to figure out who the investigators and this gentleman are talking about. Witness 1 says he knew Chris before the accident, but got to know him much better after the accident. He was best friends with Chris's older brother.
00:37:32
Speaker
He said he only remembered JP from Chris's celebration of life. He says that Chris's sister lost both of her brothers and that he is coming forward to bring truth to light.
00:37:42
Speaker
And it it's when asked like why he didn't come forward earlier, he said that it's stuff he didn't realize mattered. He says he was told that Chris drowned in a pool and that Chris didn't like water.
00:37:55
Speaker
So we know Chris's Yeah.
00:38:02
Speaker
he was afraid of being in his wheelchair around water because something could happen like this witness one says he never thought chris would take his own life he was positive had strong faith but he now recognizes that chris was different for the six to twelve months prior And he just was no longer himself.
00:38:20
Speaker
When the story came out that there was some sort of wheelchair malfunction, this was just easy to accept. He said that it was important to Susie to keep the suicide theory or discussion from the kids.
00:38:32
Speaker
So everybody went along with the malfunction story because it was easier and to protect the kids. So he goes on to talk about what life was like for Chris um from what he was shown six to 12 months before he died.
00:38:45
Speaker
Witness 1 says it felt like he was losing his love for life and was more depressed. He says Chris told him Susie wasn't caring for him as much as she used to and that he felt like he was a burden.
00:38:56
Speaker
He was just struggling, and he said that Susie wasn't the same to him. Witness 1 said he was living his whole life with the hope that he'd walk again, and Susie was telling him he had to accept that he wouldn't.
00:39:11
Speaker
So this, I also kind of understand if, you know, as the caregiver, if you're having to kind of put yourself through more work and more emotional labor, even when the person you're caring for is unable to accept a sort of reality, i understand how difficult that must be.
00:39:31
Speaker
Trying to, again, give a little grace to that. Witness 1 says that Chris was in a tough run with his health at this time, but he could tell that Susie didn't want to take care of him anymore.
00:39:43
Speaker
Witness One believed that Chris's death was an accident until about a year ago. The investigators asked if he's got any text messages anything like that, and he said that they primarily talked on Facebook Messenger.
00:39:54
Speaker
Now their Facebook chat is gone and his page was shut down, meaning all of Chris's motivational speeches that were posted there are gone. And Witness One can't pull up their history anymore because it's not there.
00:40:08
Speaker
He guesses that they spoke a month or so prior to his death. The last text between the two was October 2020. But as I said, they spoke more through Facebook Messenger. The text that they shared was when the witness's mother had passed away suddenly.
00:40:24
Speaker
um He said that they definitely talked between October 2020 and Chris's death, but he wasn't sure if it was like Facebook or phone call, but he didn't have any text messages. He said it was rare for them to go a few months without checking in and that when they did check in, Chris would share that he was struggling.
00:40:39
Speaker
Witness 1 says Chris never alluded to Susie having an affair. So Witness One believes that Susie is in a religious cult under JP's influence.
00:40:52
Speaker
He says that Chris's brother always used to say how amazing she was when they were dating. And truly, in the family between the two of them, Chris is the strong one and Susie is the weaker one.
00:41:05
Speaker
Chris kind of held things together emotionally like he could for the family, it seems like. Witness One believes that she's been manipulated. She's always been a devout Christian, but he thinks that she's been brainwashed by JP.
00:41:18
Speaker
He does believe that there was a relationship before 2025 based on checking out of caring for Chris like she used to. He does mention the insurance payout being a factor of why it would benefit Chris.
00:41:31
Speaker
everybody for this to be have been an accident witness one says that suzy is a submissive christian woman a perfect victim for a man like jp and witness one calls him a sociopath witness one says that the kids knew about the stuff that was going on with jp also um So back to the insurance payout thing.
00:41:53
Speaker
Witness 1 doesn't think that Susie has calculated enough to push for that money on her own. He said that money never mattered much to her or Chris. They never had extra money, but they were always fine.
00:42:04
Speaker
He thought the accident narrative was protecting the kids. And he recounts that he what he was told was that the wheelchair had malfunctioned and lurched forward before. So it was in the realm of possibility.
00:42:17
Speaker
Honestly, it still could be in the realm of possibility. We don't know for sure. Witness 1 thinks Chris died by suicide. He thinks he had to reconcile the fact that he wasn't going to get better. And he lost hope and felt like he lost purpose.
00:42:31
Speaker
He was getting weaker. His medical issues were ramping up. And Susie stopped caring for him like he used to like she used to And Chris couldn't live without round-the-clock care from Susie.
00:42:43
Speaker
Again, i will say, is not fair. It's not fair for a caregiver. But also is a burden that comes with, you know, marrying a paraplegic.
00:42:54
Speaker
I hope that doesn't sound like I'm saying not to marry the person you love no matter what. What I'm saying is that I feel like there was help that and there are resources that she might not have utilized.
00:43:07
Speaker
Witness one said if this was an affair, JP was destroying Chris's life. Witness 1 says that Susie is a different woman from the person he's known for 20 years. And that he wants to see JP go down for the rest of his life for something illegal that he's done.
00:43:22
Speaker
And that's kind of where we are. I don't, like, I want him to go down for all the things that he's done. i just want justice.

Conclusion and Future Pursuits

00:43:29
Speaker
Witness 1 says that Susie was distraught that people were saying it was a suicide, but everybody knew that Chris's mental state was declining.
00:43:35
Speaker
He wishes that he had those Facebook messages and questions why they would be deleted, saying it's the equivalent to wiping a cell phone. And that, as far as he knew, Chris did communicate well on his iPad via text.
00:43:48
Speaker
All right. so That is what I got for you. It's a lot. um There's been a lot of small, weird things happening. I do think that Chris's death investigation has been closed now, and they're still ruling it an accident.
00:44:02
Speaker
I don't believe it was an accident. I do believe he died by suicide. um I'm interested to understand why anyone would cover that up. If it's beyond the optics of it, as we heard her give her big feelings about what she thinks about people who die by suicide.
00:44:18
Speaker
So I don't know. It is. It's actually July 4th today. So there hasn't been much news from them in about a month since they got married. And I guess we'll just keep going forward and keep pushing for justice for Micah, justice for all of the victims that we believe are involved or could possibly be saved.
00:44:40
Speaker
Justice for the Jane Does, justice for the Skinners, all of them, you know, um So, yeah, it's really awkward to sign off by myself, so I don't really know what to say.
00:44:52
Speaker
But we will be back with just the two of us again, not just me. We're going to keep walking through Sherry's book. We are on part five, I believe, and we have to wrap up.
00:45:03
Speaker
part four, we left off two the chapters because there was a bit of it a medical emergency that had precedence over what we were doing. And so everything's fine. So we're going to do that hopefully pretty soon.
00:45:15
Speaker
ah But when Joy gets back from her trip, we'll figure out what we're doing next. And we will talk to you guys soon. Have a great day. See you next week.
00:45:33
Speaker
you
