My name is Gianna Bado. I'm a certified hypnotherapist, holistic coach, meditation teacher, and guide. So how to become more present, how to feel more grounded, how to feel more connected, this topic is so relevant is so needed especially in the time that we are in right now we live in a time where distractions are everywhere we live in a time where humanity really deeply struggles with being present with being grounded with being present in life with being present

with ourselves and simply sitting still with ourselves. Humanity deeply, deeply struggles with this, especially this time of year. you may be listening to this during the holiday season. You may be listening to this at a later date, but during the holiday season where there is so much chaos going on, even more chaos than is normally going on in our day-to-day lives,

It can feel like life is a rat race. It can feel like there's just so much to do that you never actually get a chance to be still and present in the memories that you are making.

Awareness and Grounding Techniques

today. no matter what time of year it is because there is always so much chaos going on in our lives, but especially this time of year when we are so busy, when there are so many events, where there are so much to do, when there is so, so much to do.

And so today I want to bring this topic to your attention so that You can become more present so that you can catch yourself when you realize in those moments that, Hey, i am totally ungrounded right now. Hey, i should really slow down and take a deep breath and really take in this moment that I'm in and Again, the reason why this is so hard is because there are so many distractions around us 24-7. So before we dive into how to become more present, it's important that we talk about why you're currently struggling to be present. And there's endless reasons, but the main reasons why humans struggle with being present is one, because of distractions to all of the chaos going on in our lives and three because of the stress and trauma and wounds that we carry that block our perceptions that block our judgment that prevent us from being able to actually see life clearly

So these distractions, this chaos, this stress, it holds you back from being present in the moment. It puts almost like an invisible shield in front of your face that blocks you from being able to actually see life as it truly is.

and instead, you're seeing life through the lens of your distractions, your stress, and your chaos. And so it's an invisible shield because most of the time you likely don't even realize that it's there and that it's blocking you.

Balancing Being Over Doing

And so becoming more present means that you are choosing to awaken, you are choosing to wake up to your life in a deeper way. You are choosing to feel and become more grounded in your life in a deeper way. And what happens when we choose to be more grounded and connected in a deeper feeling state is that you enjoy your life more.

You're able to actually be in your life instead of just do your life. And there's a big difference between being doing. and doing When you're in a state of being, you are connected, you are grounded, you are in the moment, you are actually living and awake in the experiences that you're in.

When you're doing your life, it's almost like you're a robot. You're going through the motions. You're doing all the things. You're getting things done. You're having conversations, but you're not actually all there in it.

You're just doing it. You're not actually being in it. And of course, there has to be this beautiful balance of doing and being, but the focus should be on the being, should be on the presence, should be on the experiencing, not the tasks and the doing.

And so when we shift from constantly being in a state of doing into being, we find that we become happier. We find that we become more grounded. We find that our relationships get better and the ones that need repairing, those relationships start to repair.

Because instead of doing and being so busy in your mind all of the time, you're actually able to experience that relationship. You're actually able to experience what you're doing instead of just doing it And so the journey of becoming more present, of course, starts with doing the work that will allow you to eliminate the distractions, eliminate the chaos or tune out the chaos, right? We can't always eliminate chaos from our lives. It is inevitably going to be part of our experience, just like distractions are going to be part of your experience and just like

All of the stress that you carry, all of the trauma, all of the wounding is also going to be part of your experience.

Identifying Stressors and Seeking Solutions

And so the real work is turning down the volume on the chaos, on the distractions, on the stress, so that you can be there for that part of you, but also witness it in a way that allows you to still be present in your life.

right So you know that shield is there. You know that those parts of you exist. You know those distractions are there. There's awareness around it. And so right now, what probably is happening is those distractions and that chaos and that stress is likely unconsciously blocking you from being present, which means in your day-to-day reality, you probably don't even realize that you have this stress, this chaos, and these distractions that are subconsciously and unconsciously blocking you and preventing you from being able to feel more in your life, be more in your life, achieve more in your life.

And so it's time to peel back the layers. It's time to peel back the layers of where you are having so much chaos, peel back the layers of all of the distractions that are currently in your reality and peel back the layers of the parts of you that need some healing, that need some attention so that you can give that attention to those parts of you And then feel healed.

And then feel whole. And then feel more complete from within. Because you can't skip ahead to becoming more present if we don't address those three areas. So to become more present, it starts with addressing the roots of why you're currently not present. So ask yourself this question. In this moment, what are my main distractions in my life?

Next question. In this moment, where am I currently experiencing stress in my life?

In this moment, where do I have chaos in my life? Of course, you will need to write those down and ask yourself those questions.

now but also later on when you are in a state of quiet stillness grounded energy so i highly recommend you write those questions down and come back to them you may have immediately received intuition and answers on where you're distracted and where there is chaos and where there is stress subconsciously your body knows and this is about you bringing awareness to what is unconscious so when we bring what is unconscious to the conscious level of your mind then there's awareness there's light being shed on whatever those blockages are so that you can be free of it and so once you know what your stress is what your chaos is what your distractions are it's time to make space it's time to

eliminate and unlayer and unwind from some of that chaos, distraction, and stress. And so how do you do that? You know, right? Of course you can receive support around it from a professional, but you know.

You know how to eliminate distraction. You know how to better work with your stress on a deeper level. And of course, if you do need more personalized support, feel free to reach out. I'm happy to support you. But on a deeper level, when you ask yourself, you know, where am I stressed? The second question then becomes, well, what do I actually need instead?

We don't want to heavily focus too much on the stress, on the distractions, on the chaos. We want to focus on what should I do instead? right? And that's really the main difference in what we do in hypnotherapy and traditional coaching and talk therapy is instead of constantly focusing on the problem and the issue, we focus on healing the issue, of course, but also what do we want instead?

What do you want to actually be experiencing? And instead of what you're currently experiencing. So we are very solution forward focused instead of, you know, regurgitating the past over and over again. Of course, that is a part of the work. We have to do the healing work. We need to focus on the past because it's part of why you are the way you are today, but we're not just talking about it in circles. Okay. So what's next? That was what happened. That was what I don't want, but what do I actually want to feel?

So I feel stressed. I feel chaotic. How do I want to feel instead? Oh, I want to feel peace. Oh, I want to feel happy. I want to feel joyful. And so when you know what you want to feel instead, then you know what the next question is.

What brings me joy? What brings me peace? What makes me feel happy? And you start to have this conversation with yourself. And when you have this conversation with yourself and you start gaining awareness around this, you start to uncover what you need. And when you uncover what you need,

You now know what you need to give yourself. And so this is a process of self-healing and self-discovery that you can start to do with yourself, right?

Daily Mindfulness Practices

So we want to uncover where the distractions are, where the stress is where the chaos is. And then we want to uncover what you actually want to feel instead.

And then you want to uncover and remind yourself what brings you that outcome. What makes you feel the way you want to feel, right? And if you've never felt the way that you want to feel, you can do some research and ask other people, hey, what brings you joy?

Or even better, go try some things you haven't done before. That is honestly my best advice that I have for those of you who feel stuck, who are doing the same things over and over again, who can't get out of a loop, an emotional loop, is go do something you've never done before. Go somewhere you've never gone before. Go pick up a new hobby. It is the most life-giving and fascinating part of our existence to experience new things. And it brings this unspeakable amount of joy and fascination and helps you learn a lot about yourself. So I highly recommend trying that on as well.

So now once we, you know, uncover all this deeper stuff, how to become more present. Okay. So you have to eliminate those layers of What is holding you back? Yes. But becoming more present is a daily practice.

But feeling more present is also a daily practice that we must put energy and attention to. So yes, meditation is great. Yes, doing self-hypnosis is incredible to help you become more present. But never underestimate the power of taking a deep breath in the experiences that you are living in.

So again, I highly recommend you practice meditation. It's going to support you in training your mind and becoming more grounded so that when you are in chaos, your mind knows how to become still. Because if you haven't trained your mind how to become still, you're going to struggle when the chaos does hit. Because again, we can't eliminate the chaos. We can't fully eliminate stress. We can dial it down, but it's going to reappear and reemerge. So it's really important that you train for stress and you train for chaos And you train for distractions like you would train for a marathon.

So if you were training for a marathon, you would run every day. Now, this is the same type of work that you must do for your mind. You must train your mind for stress, for chaos, for distractions, because they will come up and you need to be ready to handle it.

Because if you're not ready to handle it, you're going to melt down. So it's very important that you do have some type of daily practice that you are doing some level of mental training for your mind, whether it's five minutes of mindfulness meditation, whether it's five minutes of breath work, five minutes is the bare minimum now. If you can do 10, great. 20, great. But start small. And what's most important is that you have consistency around it. So it's much better to do five minutes a day every day than do 20 minutes one time a week.

The consistency, the daily consistency, is what actually builds the muscle strength, what actually trains your mind what actually builds that mindfulness in your brain in your mind in your subconscious and the more time you spend becoming mindful in meditation the more you are training your subconscious to become a more mindful person because your subconscious mind loves repetition so the more you do an action the more you experience a feeling the more you are going to become that feeling.

Impact of Mindfulness on Life Experience

So again, the more you experience mindfulness, the more mindful you are naturally slowly going to become over time. So it's very important that you do do this daily, even if it's for five minutes, even if you only have three minutes to pause, to breathe. and also breath work is an incredible tool where you just sit, close your eyes, breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth over and over again, really focusing and anchoring your mind on that breath over and over again so that if thoughts come in, you're bringing your mind back to your breathing. over and over again. And what this does is it trains you to focus. It trains you to focus on what you want to focus on instead of the distractions, right? So when the distractions come up, you know, you can take a deep breath.

You know that you can shift your focus somewhere else. because you've been training for it. So to become more present in your day-to-day reality, it requires you to one first step, unlayer all of the distractions, all of the stress, turn down the volume on all of the chaos, and then have a daily practice.

very important, very crucial, very critical, and extremely life-changing to have something that you do every day that grounds you, stabilizes you, and supports you in becoming more connected to yourself on a deeper level.

So those are the steps, that is the process. There is a healing that needs to happen. And then there is a consistent practice that needs to take place. And then from that, you become more awake, you become more alive, you become more grounded. And this is the true gift of mindfulness is feeling more awake in your life.

feeling more alive in your experiences, really feeling in the moment instead of just doing the moment, instead of just going through the motions like a robot. When you live like that, you're living asleep.

You're not actually awake. You're not actually alive in your life. And so what can also support you when you are in the moment is training yourself to Pause and take a deep breath. So let's say you are out with your family.

Instead of constantly talking and doing things, take a minute and take a deep breath in the experience. this is going to This is going to reground you and center you and focus you and help you feel the moment on a deeper level because that's what you're here for.

You're here feel and experience your life in a deep way, not just go through the motions like you're some robot. So do the healing work, get yourself a committed, consistent daily practice and start practicing taking deep breaths in the experiences that you're in so that you can feel more alive and awake in your experiences. It is going to totally and radically shift your life experiences. That is a promise.
