Speaker
Yo, yo, yo, what up, what up, what up, friends? Welcome to another edition of The Professor's Seminalmente.
00:00:47
Speaker
It is Omar, the Professor Fonseca, and yes, Our Independence Day, yes, 4th of July is here on Friday.
00:01:00
Speaker
So, yes, 4th of July is coming up. I'm to give you all the background on Independence Day, let you all know how that came about. We're going to talk all the sports news, all the entertainment. We're going to talk the Diddy trial. we give you all the updates on that as well.
00:01:13
Speaker
I will make sure that we give you um second, I'm guessing. It says it's supposed to update. Anyways.

History of Independence Day

00:01:21
Speaker
Yeah, so Independence Day coming up this week.
00:01:25
Speaker
What is the background on Independence Day? Obviously, ah freedom of the United States, right? That's what we're celebrating, celebrating our freedom. Now, technically, freedom from the British.
00:01:38
Speaker
during the first months of the Revolutionary War, after the 13 colonies had all voted in favor of independence from Great Britain, from great britain excuse me Congress wrote a declaration, obviously the Declaration of Independence, um and so that Declaration of Independence obviously was signed later into law.
00:02:04
Speaker
John Adams, who was one of the writers of the Declaration of Independence, ah said that on the second day of July in 1776 will be the most ah memorable in the history of America, talking about like a celebration, pomp, and parade, he says in his quote, shoes.
00:02:26
Speaker
I don't know what he's talking about. He's not talking about tennis shoes. It's S-H-E-W-S. So if anyone is... uh, and is a historian of dialect from the 1700s. Please let me know what shoes is. Cause I have no clue, but, um, that's what they say.
00:02:44
Speaker
So you got to go with it sometimes. And, uh, and, and just roll with the punches. there

Technical Issues and Diddy Combs Trial

00:02:48
Speaker
I don't know. Instagram's just not going for us today. Y'all. Not sure why it's happening. But anyways, so what happened one year later after it was signed, the first organized 4th of July fireworks were set off in 1777 in Pennsylvania and Boston, which was John Adams' hometown.
00:03:05
Speaker
And it closed with... Fireworks. And so that's how we all came upon having fireworks on our celebrations for 4th of July.
00:03:16
Speaker
But obviously, it is about celebrating our freedom. And, you know, no matter what we have going on in this country, there's obviously a lot of divisiveness in the country right now.
00:03:27
Speaker
No matter what we got going on, we're still one of the freest countries ever. That's going to work. One of the freest countries, if not the freest country in the world. And so we've got to celebrate that.
00:03:38
Speaker
We've also got to celebrate our our soldiers that fight for that freedom for us. And so salute to all my... ah Soldiers and veteran brethren out there Really appreciate what y'all do For us Alright, cool Well now that you've got a little history On what happened ah Let's move you on into a little more Of what happened today i'm actually getting a little warm going to take this shirt off I was rocking that at Country Box last night By the way Gotta give a shout out to Country Box Last night What an awesome show that was Especially
00:04:13
Speaker
ah ah The main ah event, Sergei Devchenko versus Jeremy Ramos. boriqua By the way, I've got interviews coming for everybody. You're not going to want to miss the Sergei Devchenko interview that I do. It's very, very poignant and very informative.
00:04:36
Speaker
from a Ukrainian boxer standpoint. So it's going to be really cool for you all to

Country Box Event Recap

00:04:40
Speaker
see that. As well, I got Evander Holyfield's son, young Holy, on the interview as well, as well as the Boricwas' Jeremy Ramos, the aforementioned, and Giovanni Figueroa, a good young fighter on the come-up. So Country Box was awesome. Y'all make sure y'all subscribe to Country Box and watch every first Tuesday of the month.
00:04:58
Speaker
Jimmy Adams ah ah obviously does a tremendous job there with his wife, Ashley, who held down the fort last night for everyone and made sure that everything ran smooth. so that was great.
00:05:10
Speaker
Anyways, all right, let's keep it moving. Like I said, we got to talk. You already know what the big... Still, I don't know why Instagram is not working, but this is very much upsetting me. And also, for some reason, when I look at my channel on Ball and Buds on YouTube, it says it's not telling me that it's on.
00:05:26
Speaker
But then

Diddy Combs Trial Outcome and Analysis

00:05:27
Speaker
when I'm looking at it on here, it's literally telling me that y'all are watching. So I'm not sure if this is lying to me or what, because it won't actually let me open the video.
00:05:39
Speaker
It's very, very odd. Anyways, enough about that. Um... And let's see what's popping. Bobby G. Shout out to Tribal Chief.
00:05:53
Speaker
Yes, sir. Thank you for tuning in, my brother. Appreciate you. going to talk the Diddy Combs trial right now. But first, I wanted to see if I could get Instagram ah linked up. But for some reason, it's just not flowing with me right now. I'll keep trying while I'm talking.
00:06:09
Speaker
But anyways, if you have not been paying attention to the Diddy trial, wowzers, wowzers, wowzers. It has been a crazy... Crazy, crazy trial. Eight weeks of intense, ah obviously, discovery through witnesses. and The main one being, as we know, Cassie Venter. And as you know, I've been updating you on this show weekly about what has been going on in this trial. It's been explosive. Obviously, we all know about the stuff between Cassie and Diddy that happened in the hotel, the actual...
00:06:45
Speaker
um ah you know, violence that had occurred. We also know about ah another witness who said she was dangled off the balcony. She was also an assistant. We heard about another witness who was also as an assistant and was also treated horribly and abused mentally and other things like this. So we heard explosive, explosive discovery. And now finally it is all over Yes, the fat lady has sung and there has been a verdict in the Sean Diddy Combs trial. After eight weeks, he has been convicted of two federal felonies but acquitted on three more serious, the most serious charges against him.
00:07:36
Speaker
So... As you know, if you've been watching this show, as I've been talking about this case every single week that it's been happening, you've been getting all your great information from me, and I appreciate that.
00:07:50
Speaker
As I've been saying from the beginning, there were multiple reasons I thought that he was going to get off on of especially the RICO charges. I said it every week. I didn't see any racketeering or conspiracy charges. There's no conspiracy. You usually need more people. You need multiple people within a business to conspire.
00:08:11
Speaker
And it just didn't reach that in my eyes. I said the whole time the only thing I thought really could be done was the prostitution charges. um And that's exactly what happened. So if you were listening to me, well, good on you because you were able to be informed and tell the rest of ah your people. But yeah, as I mentioned from the beginning, the first thing that tipped me off was that Sean Diddy Combs pled not guilty and didn't take a plea deal, which I said at the beginning of the of the trial meant either he's crazy or he knows he's going to get off.
00:08:44
Speaker
One or the other. Well, he had proved to be the latter as he got off of what was the most most most ah important to him charges because he was facing life in prison.
00:08:54
Speaker
Now he no longer faces that. At much at most, he he could get 10 years, and and they're saying that he's not even going to get that. Each violation of the Mann Act The MANN Act carries up to 10 years in prison, which technically means he could face 20 as maximum years in prison for the two violations of the MANN Act for prostitution and transportation across ah state lines, all of this different stuff that we heard about through the case. So what will happen, legal experts are saying there's no way he gets 10 years.
00:09:31
Speaker
That would be too harsh. He has no criminal history. So the judge is going to go lenient on him, which is just like, ah just like wow. I mean, yeah, he didn't, I guess, technically do anything wrong except for being a ah horrible person.
00:09:46
Speaker
um But, I mean, he did do some prostitutes, definitely prostitutes. No, I mean, anyways, so they're saying... ah Former federal prosecutor Nima Rahmani says as little to 15 to 21 months with time served.
00:10:05
Speaker
So we're looking at Diddy getting 15 to 20, so a year and a half to two years at the most is what she said, from and she is a former federal prosecutor. So the one thing they're wondering now, will Sean Diddy Combs actually be um ah remanded?
00:10:24
Speaker
back into custody, or will he ah be let out on bond on awaiting his sentencing? Because obviously, ah now that they've found out what the verdict is, now they actually have to await sentencing.
00:10:40
Speaker
And so what they could do is they could actually send him home on bond with while he is awaiting sentencing. Now, the judge, funny enough, said, ah and this will probably indicate to you what's going to happen here, but he said there there would be no way that, ah basically, essentially, no way Diddy would be crazy enough to run away, right?
00:11:08
Speaker
He would be nothing short of a fool to violate the court order is is exactly what the judge said. So he doesn't think that he's a liable to flee. I mean, I wouldn't put that past him.
00:11:20
Speaker
i mean, he could just go to some foreign island and never get found again. I mean, what are we talking about right now? I mean, yeah, he's probably not going to make it through security of any airports, but what if what if he knows somebody with a private jet that'll let him get on and get out?
00:11:33
Speaker
You never know. Look, I mean, look, I don't have any say in this, but if it were me, I would say i just sort for safeguarding purposes, you would just keep the person there no matter who they are. but But especially if they got money and avenues to get out of the country, you would think you probably will. It really would. Either way, doesn't matter. I just come to tell you that, again, he was only convicted on the prostitution and trafficking case.
00:12:01
Speaker
um excuse me, the prostitution across state lines, excuse me, but he was not found guilty for the sex trafficking. He was not found guilty for racketeering. He was not found guilty for even um transportation.
00:12:17
Speaker
ah ah ah Or conspiracy, excuse me. So they tried to focus on that, New York did. They were not able to get him on the RICO charges.
00:12:28
Speaker
And again, i mean, I didn't see it. I just couldn't. There was nothing there that said there is a conspiracy going on to... laundry money to engage in prostitution. The only person that was doing anything really here was his nasty ass with all this stuff. Yeah, I don't I don't know, man. I'm not ah I'm not a cuck. So I don't wish to watch other people have ah sexual engagement, but whatever. Do what you do.
00:12:55
Speaker
um But what I will say is that it just it did just didn't have anything. There was no no meat to it as. and Wow. Pause. Paused tremendously on no meat to it.
00:13:07
Speaker
But either way, that is where we are now. Again, innocent of the three most serious charges, convicted of the two um lesser charges. Sean Diddy Combs is looking at a maximum 20 years.

Sports Updates: Bobby Bonilla Day and MLB

00:13:21
Speaker
ah Federal prosecutors are saying nowhere close to that will he get. He will get about a year and a half to two years is what they are estimating. So, wowzers, what a change of events and things that have transpired over period.
00:13:33
Speaker
ah this case, but it has been a whirlwind and it has been, you know, pretty, pretty crazy to watch. I've, I've stayed up to date to it every day. And by the way, got give a shout out.
00:13:45
Speaker
Laura Coates on CNN, you did a tremendous job. um You're you're a professional anyways, but just a tremendous job on this, covering it every day, going very, very in-depth. It was where I got my news from every day. I watched her.
00:13:58
Speaker
You know, here it's 11 o'clock every day when I see her, or 10 o'clock, 11 there in Eastern Time. But anyways. Awesome news that she gave us updated every day. Very, very detailed, bringing in witnesses from the court and things like that as well.
00:14:12
Speaker
Ashley Banfield on MSNBC. I like her too. She's funny. But she as well was updating people all pretty much on a daily basis, um except where we had some other things going on in the news, like Iran and Israel.
00:14:25
Speaker
And when we bombed them, hey, we got all that coming up in a little bit. So don't go anywhere. We're going to talk about all the sports here week. And then we're going to get into our U.S. and our world news, update you on the big, beautiful bill, which is no longer called that.
00:14:43
Speaker

00:15:34
Speaker
ah Tomorrow night, I want to say again, we're having banter, brawls, and bravado, 8 p.m. Eastern. It's going to be hilarious. We're going over all the current event pop culture topics in a hilarious manner with my ah my brother, comedian Bajuan Malavey, my brother, Clubba D, I was about to say his real name, Clubber D, the combat G as you've seen him many times with me here before.
00:15:59
Speaker
And also my other brother, Mike Weavey, you've seen him many times as our MLB insider here on the network. And that reminds me as well, because I want to make sure I i didn't get any of this on Instagram. So let me get it out now next week.
00:16:13
Speaker
Monday, Presser Seminole Mente, my buddy Amul the Agilist Madan will join me ah for sports news entertainment. And then on Tuesday, we'll have the MLB midseason review. So make sure you tune in. We're going to talk all MLB news with my MLB insider, Mike Wiebe, as well as Lion, Reese Penn, and Shane Peacher, if I can get him to answer the phone.
00:16:37
Speaker
So, I love you, Peach. I know. I just texted you today. It's okay. Anyways, moving on. Into the sports world. Yes, what do we got going on here? I was so ah taken aback by everything that happened earlier on Instagram. I forgot to put my overlays up. So there we go. That's and that's nice and beautiful.
00:16:58
Speaker
Happy Bob... And I forgot. Happy Bobby Bonilla Day to you. everybody.
00:17:08
Speaker
We have yesterday, by the way, was Tuesday, July 1st. What's that mean in the lore of Major League Baseball? Well, in the lore of Major League Baseball, it is Bobby Bonilla Day. It is when the Mets...
00:17:25
Speaker
Spent way too much money and I over-sended my letters on that ah that graphic. But anyways, it looked fine when I was on PowerPoint. Anyways, the Mets unfortunately made a really bad decision plenty of years ago ahead of the 1997 season to pay Bobby Bonilla, if you don't remember who he was. He was a pretty good player for a long time.
00:17:48
Speaker
ah After... um After he played for the Marlins and won a World Series, he was traded to the Dodgers but then traded back to the Mets. Well, what ended up happening was, and yes, he was an all-star for us twice, 93-95, but had a really rough season, 1999. He had a bad relationship with Bobby V, Bobby Valentine, the manager at that time.
00:18:14
Speaker
Club wanted to move on in the offseason, agreed to buy out the remaining $5.9 million dollars of his contract. But instead of giving him a lump sum, like smart people would, they negotiated a 25-year deferred payment plan. I repeat, 25-year at 8% interest.
00:18:35
Speaker
year at eight percent interest
00:18:42
Speaker
The reason for this, let me give you some background to this. there It was not at the time far-fetched their idea. It was not at the time a crazy idea because at the time the reason they did it was because the Mets owners had invested into the Madoff, Bernie Madoff fund, which was producing a lot of money at the time.
00:19:03
Speaker
Unfortunately, The Bernie Madoff Fund, as we all know, ended up being a pyramid scheme and a fraud and you ended up ah costing everybody all of their money, including the Mets owners, the Wilpons at the time.
00:19:18
Speaker
Well, when that happened, they still owe Bobby Bonilla all this money, which is going to turn out to be $25.9 million, million dollars, me knowledge over That lifetime over that over that ah it's going to be what 20 years.
00:19:36
Speaker
So you ended up going from 6 million to 26 million. so you're paying 20 million dollars more because you wanted to defer paying it 12 12 years. twelve years when you're a baseball team and you've got enough money to pay that off.
00:19:53
Speaker
If you've got enough money to do the damn Ponzi scheme, why don't you have enough money to just pay the man in the first place and not do this stupid crap? Now, I know the Dodgers did it recently with Shohei Otani. I realize that.
00:20:04
Speaker
But um the way they did it and with the way that he has endorsements and other things like that, championship aspirations, which we had at the time. We did go to the World Series in 2000.
00:20:15
Speaker
But there's just a lot more reasons the Dodgers would do it than we had at the time. But either way, salute and happy Bobby Bonilla Day to all. wa w wap wo Oh, do I have a sound for that? Maybe I have a, let's see.
00:20:35
Speaker
Maybe it's a crash sound that'll work for us. Let's see.
00:20:45
Speaker
There we go. yep that's ah That's about right. That's pretty much what that amounted to. Yeah, that's pretty much about right.
00:20:53
Speaker
All right, hot off the press. This is why I was late, y'all. I was supposed to come on a little earlier, but I wanted to wait for the All-Star starters to be announced so I could have it as the first person on the internet for

Rapid Sports News: NBA and WNBA

00:21:06
Speaker
you. I know ESPN already talked about it, but I'm the first person on the interwebs to give it to you.
00:21:11
Speaker
So let's go through these MLB All-Star game starters hot off the press again. Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh, the big dumper.
00:21:22
Speaker
You said, what, Omar? The who? The big dumper, Cal Riley, who already has 33. thirty three You said, what, Omar? 33 home runs on the year, and it's not even the all-star break, bashing the ball out of the stadium for the Seattle Mariners.
00:21:41
Speaker
He is. um Obviously voted to the All-Star Game. American League Rookie of the Year candidate Jacob Wilson with the Athletics. Shout out my boy D. Cleesey and his A's.
00:21:53
Speaker
ah He's hitting.336. I saw it the other day. So he's just playing amazingly well. Three people from your Detroit Tigers.
00:22:05
Speaker
who are leading in the record books right now. Second baseman, former Yankee, Glaber Torres, and outfielders Riley Green and Boricua, wepa, wepa, wepa, Javier Baez, will join them in the starting lineup in the National League, the Dodgers, Los Dodgers, who we've talked about a lot in the cast a couple weeks, will have three representatives.
00:22:33
Speaker
ah Catcher Will Smith, obviously ah Freddie Freeman, although we're about to talk about why he shouldn't be a starter over Pete Alonso. That's some BS. Pete Alonso's stats are better all the way around. Actually, I guess we don't have to wait. I just told you.
00:22:46
Speaker
Pete's stats are better. around He has a better OPS, more home runs. Way more RBIs. What are we talking about right now? um Just because he has a lower average doesn't mean anything. Freddie Freeman should not be starting this game as much as Freddie Freeman is a great player. Pete Alonzo should.
00:23:00
Speaker
Take that to your bank and smoke it. um Take that to your bank and smoke it. I just mashed in two ah two ah common sayings there.
00:23:13
Speaker
Where they say, take it to the bank, and then the other one is put that in your pipe and smoke it. Look at that. That's funny. Ah, ah, ah, that's great. um That's tremendous. I didn't even realize I did that. But anyways, that makes me laugh.
00:23:26
Speaker
All right, let's keep it moving. Who else is starting? Well, let me know. I'm gonna give you the full lineup right now in the NL. already told you Shohei. already told you Freddie Freeman and why he shouldn't be starting. Quetel Marte for your Diamondbacks. looking at my phone so I get this correct.
00:23:41
Speaker
um Manny Machado for the Padres. I said Will Smith already. Ronald Acuna Jr. from the Atlanta baseball team. You've got to change your name there, Atlanta. ah Kyle Tucker for the Chicago Cubs.
00:23:55
Speaker
Also for the Chicago Cubs and what will be the bane of my baseball existence for the next 20 years. Pete Crow Armstrong, PCA, a future MVP who we decided to trade for one year of broided up ah Robinson Cano.
00:24:13
Speaker
ah Robinson bum-ass Cano. Anyways, and finally, wepa, wepa Boricua, Francisco Lindor Paquito Bebe, from my hometown of Caguas, Puerto Rico.
00:24:30
Speaker
Francisco Lindor, baby, who, by the way, I'd like to promote real quick. Go check out my SoundCloud and also all the social medias of Ball and Buds. I've got the brand new New York Mets anthem that I just put out. It is awesome.
00:24:47
Speaker
Merges ble or blends a little bit of the old school Mets theme songs as well as with Blaster Jacks and Timmy Trumpet, their trumpet song called Narco that they have for Edwin Diaz.
00:25:00
Speaker
I did a rap over it, and I'm submitting it to the Mets. Mets, call me. I would love to go perform that for you at Citi Field. Go check out Ballroom Buds. All right. Anyways, American League, shameless promotion that was, but it's my show, and I can do whatever the heavens I want to do, suckers.
00:25:16
Speaker
um All right. So, um anyways, in the American League, Ryan O'Hearn for Baltimore. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. for the Toronto Blue Jays. i The aforementioned Gleyber Torres and um who else did I say? Javier Baez and Riley Green.
00:25:35
Speaker
Then you have ah Jose Ramirez from the Cleveland Indians, perennial all-star. You got Aaron Judge, of course, with the Yankees in there. He was hitting.395. He's come back down to earth a little bit, if you can say that.
00:25:49
Speaker
While you're still hitting around 350, which is still crazy, he'll be there. And also the aforementioned Cal Raleigh and Jacob Wilson. So there are your starting lineups for your Major League All-Star game, which...
00:26:03
Speaker
Prayers up to my grandmother that she is okay. um But I may even be covering the All-Star Game. So check me out at Ball & Buzz. We may be covering that All-Star Game for you.
00:26:16
Speaker
Cool? All right. Let's move it into the lightning. Oh, no. Wait. We got. Yeah. Let's go ahead and move it into the lightning round of the mixed bag. I've got a ton of notes here for you.
00:26:32
Speaker
In the sports world, this is crazy, y'all. I have so many notes. i had to go to I had to go to AI to chat GBT because I had 35 pages of notes, sports and and and news, to get to y'all today. And I was like, I'm not.
00:26:47
Speaker
I'm not going through all that. I'm not going through 35 pages. Yeah, I copied and pasted it and put it all in there. A lot of times I'll copy whole articles so it'll take up a few pages for one thing. But still, I was like, nah, man, I'm not doing that.
00:26:58
Speaker
I posted this joint in ChadGBT. This joint spit out. 50-some things for me to talk about that I copy and paste it from the sports world. So this is your sports world lightning round for real. It's not even in a real order, and I don't care because there's so much to talk about. I will try to go in as much of an order as I can, but I cannot guarantee anything.
00:27:24
Speaker
All right?
00:27:26
Speaker
First of all, let's talk and NBA draft, NBA free agency. Yes. Wow. It was a crazy week, NBA and NHL, so we'll get you updated on all of that.
00:27:41
Speaker
So here we go. In the NBA... The Mavs, the Mavericks, not only did they get Cooper Flagg as the number one pick in the NBA draft, he is no really conspiracy theory here, I don't think.
00:27:57
Speaker
I think it's pretty much shown that the NBA is rigged at times by giving the Dallas Mavericks the lottery after you made them trade Luka Doncic to the Lakers because LeBron is getting old and about to retire, which we'll talk about in just a second.
00:28:12
Speaker
on another one of my facts, because LeBron hops in at $52.6 million, dollars which also means he'll be an unrestricted free agent after the year.
00:28:24
Speaker
What does that mean, sports professor? Well, what that means is that if he's an unrestricted free agency for a rebuilding team, do you really think that team is going to re resign him when they have Luka and they need to build around Luka?
00:28:38
Speaker
No. That means LeBron's time with the Lakers will be over tomorrow. They're probably not going trade him midseason just because I think they have, like, that respect for bringing the title and all that. Now, don't never say never to and in any business, especially the sports world.
00:28:52
Speaker
You might get traded in a heartbeat. But anyways, you will get traded in heartbeat. But LeBron, they may not do that, too. They may want to just keep him to the end of year and then let him just walk away. But they could trade him if they wanted and get some big here nor there.
00:29:06
Speaker
The Mavericks signed D'Angelo Russell to help while Kyrie Irving is out. SGA, the MVP, Shai Gilgis Alexander, four-year, $285 million dollars Supermax signed.
00:29:22
Speaker
That will start in 2027. The Bucs signed Miles Turner. What? What's more crazy? They waived.
00:29:34
Speaker
Damian Lillard game time, baby! Yes, check this. The Bucs waived the next five years of Damian Lillard's contract, which is crazy, and stretched it.
00:29:47
Speaker
Or, sorry, waived the next two years of his contract and stretched it over to stretch it over five years. So, essentially, they take that... two years of his contract, which is like $100 million or something like that, and stretch it over five years so it costs less every year on the cap hit.
00:30:01
Speaker
And they used that savings to go sign Miles Turner. Now, as a basketball move, you say this is a smart move to do. Now, will Turner and Giannis mesh?
00:30:12
Speaker
We will see. Obviously, Giannis and ah a
00:30:20
Speaker
the brother. ah The Giannis and the brother. Had a good chemistry. um I can see his fro and his face. Anyways, had a good chemistry. But anyway, so, but we'll see how this works because Giannis is said to be displeased with this trade. But again, in basketball sense, it actually makes sense. No pun intended.
00:30:40
Speaker
What else we got? ah Mazza... Masai Ujiri is out as the Raptors boss. What? Yes, they have let go of Masai Ujiri, excuse me.
00:30:56
Speaker
um who And it's a little bit of a basketball move, little a little bit of a contentious ah move, but they're not they're rebuilding. So do they really... You know, there's there's some more intricacies, things that you need to go search for yourself because I don't want to be putting classified information out there. But there's some other things in that situation. But either way, it's its it's probably better that they just parted ah ways. You know what I mean?
00:31:21
Speaker
Rockets re-signed Fred Van Vliet, two years, $50 million. um ah What else did we have? Austin Reeves rejected the Max from the Lakers.
00:31:36
Speaker
What? Now, it's not a max max like you were thinking, like a super max. It's the max that he can get. um But either way, he turns it down, hoping to bag more. If he waits a year, you better hope you don't get injured.
00:31:48
Speaker
And ah in sales news, the Lakers sold their team for a record $11 billion. Oh, no, $10 billion. This comes after my Celtics sold theirs for only $6 billion. dollars I mean, I don't know what to say about that. That kind of hurts my feelings, though.
00:32:08
Speaker
But Jeannie Buss does say she will stay on as the controlling governor of the team. um I forgot one note. Timberwolves did re-sign Naz Reed.
00:32:19
Speaker
Five years, $125 million. And then finally, um and oh oh and the Grizzlies gave Jaron Jackson Jr. $240 million in a max Nuggets traded Porter Jr. to get under the second apron luxury tax to the Nets for Cam Johnson in 2032 unprotected rounder.
00:32:45
Speaker
unprotected first rounder And finally, and we're only in NBA news, which is why you can see why I couldn't talk about everything because we would have been here forever.
00:32:57
Speaker
um Two more notes. First of all, Malik Beasley is under investigation for a gambling probe. You guys got to read up on

U.S. and World News Discussion

00:33:05
Speaker
that story. It's pretty wild what they tried to pull off.
00:33:08
Speaker
And then finally, the Knicks. Finally, I've been looking for you everywhere. Only a couple people will know the inside of that joke. But anyways, um yeah, the Knicks have finally settled on a coach just today.
00:33:24
Speaker
They agreed to hire Mike Brown as their coach. um Really good coach. You still keep defense like you had with Thibodeau, but he is obviously A coach that has coached many teams, been around a bunch of superstars, can handle this lineup, and is a is bred for this championship team.
00:33:45
Speaker
They are ready. I think this is a great move. I said before they fired Thibodeau that I thought that was getting stale and they needed a change. They ended up firing him.
00:33:56
Speaker
Now they bring in Mike Brown. I think this is an amazing hire for them. I think this actually can take them over the top to a championship. So we'll see. And I hate saying that as a Celtics fan, but we'll see what happens there.
00:34:08
Speaker
All right. That was your NBA. Now, quick cup couple notes in WNBA. First of all, the WNBA All-Star starters were revealed, as you can believe. Caitlin Clark was one of the highest vote-getters. I mean, I guess you can probably assume that.
00:34:24
Speaker
Nefesia Collier also. ah was one of the highest vote getters, which, by the way, that takes me to another note in WNBA. ah The Commonwealth Cup was won by Caitlin Clark's Indiana Fever, even though she's injured with a groin injury, as they beat Nifeser College, Minnesota, Link, yesterday.
00:34:42
Speaker
um But the WNBA will feature a rookie in the starting lineup for the first time ever. Shout out Paige Buckets Beckers coming out of UConn. She has been balling 17-20.
00:34:55
Speaker
.7,.5,.5 assists a game, ah just leading her team, even though they're they're struggling as a team so far. She was injured for a little bit with a concussion, other things. so But she is, ooh, balling!
00:35:10
Speaker
to give Jim Jones a shout-out. As I saw, he got thrown offstage by Funk Flex the other day. How about that for a pop culture reference in 2025? How about some other news here? that Damn, we are going hot and heavy in here.
00:35:24
Speaker
WNBA is adding three expansion franchises, Cleveland, Detroit, and Philadelphia, on the next three years, one each year. Cool?
00:35:35
Speaker
So shout out and salute to Cleveland, Detroit, and Philadelphia for their new WNBA franchises. The MLB, Major League Baseball, and ESPN are back at the table.
00:35:45
Speaker
And Major League Baseball and Rob Manfred, the worst commissioner in sports, have to be thanking their lucky stars that ESPN came back because MLB was going nowhere with their TV rights deals and was going to be shown on Fucking, I don't know, excuse my language, the the the Discovery Channel, maybe CW.
00:36:08
Speaker
I don't know. It wasn't going to be nowhere good. Anyways, moving on. The Atlanta baseball team DFA's, which means they just got rid of, waived. Alex Verdugo as they reinstate. Jerickson Profar onto the team from the...
00:36:27
Speaker
And you asked why that's important. From the PED list, he was suspended for 80 games. He's coming back. Who was also getting his as suspended said are suspended sentence? excuse me Wander Franco, former Rays star, is now being convicted of sexual abuse of a minor.
00:36:45
Speaker
He does avoid prison under conditions, but we will have to go under house arrest and all of that kind ah of thing that obviously you don't want to...
00:36:56
Speaker
um go through, but when you do that sort of thing, then you deserve what you get when you're messing with a minor and then trying to pay their family off in order to be able to, it's it's a whole crazy story. It's all got to go read that Wander Franco story and the way he tried to pay the family off to keep quiet.
00:37:15
Speaker
That's disgusting, dude. I don't know what's wrong with you, but you need a life and you're going to get one. It's not going to be in prison. but you're not playing baseball again. You might get a chance in a few years, but I highly doubt it. I think your career is over, but you know and never say never in America, I guess, right?
00:37:30
Speaker
Anyways, moving on to more news. Let's see what we got here. I want to make sure I at least stay a little bit on track. Angels run. Washington is out for the season due to an undisclosed medical issues.
00:37:42
Speaker
Prayers up to the 72-year-old manager. We wish him well. Brewers rookie. Mizorowski, Jacob, who actually got ah wrecked by my Mets tonight and got five runs dumped on him early, ah did out-duel Pirates ace Paul Skeens.
00:37:59
Speaker
You say, who is Mizorowski? The sports professor tells you he's the new Milwaukee's rookie pitcher. He has a 1.13 ERA.
00:38:08
Speaker
Over 16 innings pitched and he is looking awesome. What else happened? We talked about my boy D Cleese's A's earlier. Let's come back to that. A's pitcher, Louis Severino, who played for my Mets last year, blast the Oakland A's ballpark, ripping the Sacramento site.
00:38:25
Speaker
After an ugly home ERA, you should see the splits, y'all. He has a 6-1. ERA at home and a 3.5 ERA on the road. So that'll tell you how much he hates that stadium.
00:38:37
Speaker
And he says he wants to be traded. This is going to get ugly. Yankees Jazz Chisholm Jr. rages after an election, says the call was unwarranted.
00:38:49
Speaker
We'll see if there's a suspension there. Max Scherzer, sharp in his Jays return. He's now playing for the Toronto Blue Jays, if you didn't know. Mad Max coming off a 76-game injured reserve stay. excuse me I know I'm trying to get through it fast because there's a lot, y'all. I still got tons more, and I'm just giving you one-line little things.
00:39:12
Speaker
ah Imagine if I actually went through all of this stuff. that would be wild. But anyways, we keep it moving. I'm not even going to try to go through sports anymore because I think I did most of the Sports Center content. EA Sports revives college hoops.
00:39:28
Speaker
Yes, in 2028, EA Sports NCAA basketball will be back on the shelves. So look forward to that. um Oh, some more NFL news.
00:39:42
Speaker
Minka Fitzpatrick has been traded to the Dolphins. The Steelers get in return. Jalen Ramsey and tight end Jonu Smith. As my boy Lion Reese Penn said, shout out to him. Y'all check in the tap in with the rec room.
00:39:57
Speaker
That Steelers cornerback room is crazy with the cornerbacks they got back there. um Three-headed monster. So they're going to be good there. I'm looking for the I'm calling it that Steelers are making the playoffs.
00:40:11
Speaker
yeah I called it already on um Mar's show. Steelers are making the playoffs. I called it two weeks ago. So let's go. Actually, Mar called it too. We both called it. So anyways, what else we got here?
00:40:23
Speaker
18-game NFL season has stalled. The NFL Players Association says they will not negotiate any more schedule changes until next year at the earliest, which isn't really a long time anyways. don't know why they say that.
00:40:38
Speaker
But the collective bargaining agreement does run through 2031. The club World Cup, i um or excuse me, the ah FIFA World Cup goal,
00:40:52
Speaker
Club World Cup, excuse me, quarterfinals have been set. PSG, Ahalal, among a couple other teams that I had on my list, but I can't find them now.
00:41:04
Speaker
But anyways, they are all going into the quarterfinals in the FIFA Club World Cup, which is preparing for FIFA World Cup coming next year. I love FIFA World Cup. um um'm a i'm a I'm a soccer fan. I mean, I'm not a huge, I don't call it football, and I don't go to many games, although I have gone to a few Nashville SC games, which are a lot of fun, especially if you sit in the supporters section. Shout out to those Nashville SC supporters here in Nashville. They'd be going crazy, so that's pretty cool to see. They'd be having a lot of chants and songs.
00:41:36
Speaker
It's pretty awesome stuff to be a part of, especially right when you're in the middle of it. ah But anyways, so yeah, so soccer, FIFA World Cup, coming next year.
00:41:46
Speaker
ah What else happened? Lily Johannes, I talked about her a few years ago, the U.S. prodigy, 18-year-old. She is leaving Ajax for European powerhouse O.L. Lyon.
00:41:58
Speaker
um What else we got? ah I know I had a couple more soccer news here. and know I missed a couple things here. I'm trying to give it all the try give you all the news you need. It's going to be like this in U.S. s and world news, too. Y'all just wait.
00:42:14
Speaker
I'll have a little more time to talk about things in depth there because that's more important than just sports news. But I do need to talk about that as well. Hockey. That's right. Hockey news. ah Mitch Marner has been traded to Vegas now.
00:42:28
Speaker
Florida re-signed the champions, the now champion Florida Panthers, just one, re-signed all of their key players, Brad Marchand, Ekblad, and their MVP, Conn Smythe, trophy winner, Sam Bennett.
00:42:44
Speaker
Let's see.
00:42:47
Speaker
Um...
00:42:49
Speaker
I got a couple more. Pac-12 Conference NCAA adds Texas State as a member school. That is their eighth member. Why is that important? Let the sports professor tell you. This is important because the Pac-12 needed one more member to have eight members.
00:43:04
Speaker
Why do you need eight members? Because you need to you need eight members in order to stay FBS eligible, the football bowl subdivision. So in order for them to want to be able to maybe even regain top six conference, which is not going to happen because they're going go to super conferences anyways. But if they even want to be considered in the group of five, they have to have eight teams.
00:43:27
Speaker
Texas State gives them an eighth team. ah University of Penn has banned trans women from women's sports. This comes after their star swimmer, Leah Thomas, who tra who's transitioned from man ah
00:43:44
Speaker
to woman. ah They obviously don't agree with with the bad publicity that she brought upon that school because they have disavowed her pretty much and stripped her school records and bars any future participation and banning any future trans athletes. Now, again, I've said this already.
00:44:06
Speaker
We're going to have trans people in society. They've been around forever. Let's give them their own division. I don't understand why this is so hard. If they want to play sports, that's perfectly fine. There's nothing wrong with that. Let them play sports.
00:44:19
Speaker
like But there has to be a middle division. There cannot be men that are that are now going to be playing in women's sports because they've transitioned. I'm sorry, but you still have ah higher testosterone levels as shown in studies, even when you've after you've transitioned.
00:44:34
Speaker
And the other way, I mean, you're not going to put a woman in a man's sports because just inherently men have better genetics. Again, not all, no. Yes, if you put Jackie Joyner-Kersey out there with me, she's going to dust the hell out my ass, of course.
00:44:46
Speaker
Ain't nobody debating that. But for the normal, average person, right, a man is usually going to be, and again, not everyone, bigger, faster, stronger.
00:44:58
Speaker
Just give the trans people a middle division. It can't be that hard. give them a minute Now, I know there's not that many trans athletes, so I guess that does make it a little more difficult because there's not enough trans athletes out there to be able to probably home form a whole division.
00:45:12
Speaker
But, I mean, make a subdivision for them and just let them compete for their own trophies. I don't understand... why you can't work something out like that. you've done NCAA has done anything else to try to have their way since amateurism back in 2015.
00:45:29
Speaker
It's like just catch up with the times and just make things okay for

ICE Operations and Political Challenges

00:45:33
Speaker
everybody. Whether you agree with it or not, it doesn't matter. Whether you think that there is only a man and a woman and whether you agree with trans and not trans, it doesn't really matter because the trans people are in society and have been forever and they're going to continue to be.
00:45:47
Speaker
So at least just give them their own lane so that way they're not getting your in your lane and then you're not complaining about it. Anyways, Wimbledon, massive upsets in tennis, 13 men, 10 women seeds fall in round one, including number two, American Coco Gauff, and ah number three, Russian Alexander Zeverev.
00:46:09
Speaker
Crazy. Wowzers. What else we got for you? I got a couple more things here, and then we'll get to the news, U.S. and world news. um Oilers trade, the Edmonton Oilers, and hockey trade, Evander Kane, to the Canucks, the Vancouver Canucks,
00:46:25
Speaker
ah Let's see. Jake Paul is now ranked as a cruiserweight. He is number 14. i mean i believe it was the WBA. I could be corrected. It might be the WBC, but I believe it the WBA.
00:46:37
Speaker
Wowzers. This is crazy. Clubber I, Bajo, and Weeby. We'll talk about this tomorrow for sure. Um, Darren Waller, NFL, unretires, joins the Miami Dolphins. Shout out my boy, Big Rue.
00:46:52
Speaker
Love you, brother. Prayers. Uh, the Sabres, huge blockbuster trade. JJ Patekra, who was their star winger to the new Utah Mammoth, the expansion team, uh, for Kesserling and Doan, a good trade for both sides of the aisle.
00:47:10
Speaker
Uh, What else do we got here? couple more things. Oh, three most important news pieces here today in the sports world for you. First of all, um the feds have threatened California on the trans athlete policy. I forgot to mention that earlier.
00:47:26
Speaker
ah The Trump admin warns of imminent enforcement if the state doesn't revise their rules on transgender athletes. And again, we just talked about it. Give them their own lane, their own division.
00:47:37
Speaker
Also, Super Bowl halftime. Do you remember the man who protested with the Sudanese flag in a pro-Palestinian gesture and was arrested? He stood on the car in the middle of Kendrick Lamar's performance.
00:47:49
Speaker
He has been arrested. and ah but We'll see what happens. Probably not going to get jail time, I believe is what I hear. Probably just some probation and house arrest. And last but not least, Justin Tucker has been suspended by the NFL.
00:48:05
Speaker
ah Not that it mattered because the Ravens had gotten rid of him anyways, but he's now suspended for 10 games. So if any other team wanted to sign him, they would have to go ahead and know that he's suspended for 10 games.
00:48:19
Speaker
I really wish I had the mixed bag there the whole time, but lucky enough, I know how to edit very well on um on my editing machine so I can very easily go back and put the mixed bag there. But that was your sports professor's mixed bag.
00:48:35
Speaker
Yes. Shout out everybody watching, including on Instagram. Shout out Miss Zinn. I see you. ah High school. Oh, love to see that tuning in, Jody.
00:48:46
Speaker
Appreciate you. Hope you're doing well. All right, cool. So that is your wow. I wonder how long that took. That had to take at least like 15 minutes. I'm not sure, but you just got all the news you could ever want ah in sports world for the past week and a half, and I need a breath. Go ahead and subscribe to Ball & Buds, B-A-L-L-A-N-D-B-U-D-S. Please make sure you hit that like button on the replay.
00:49:14
Speaker
Or, I mean, right now or on the replay is what I meant. Cool. All right. Time to move it into our or our U.S. news. Excuse me.
00:49:26
Speaker
Let me bring my myself back to front and center for a little bit. So, anyways. U.S. news, what if we had going on this week? We are going to get into the fallout of Israel and ah the United States bombing Iran, but I want to talk about everything else first. I'll leave that when we get closer to the world news.
00:49:45
Speaker
What else is happening strictly U.S.? The biggest story in the United States ah today, yesterday, this weekend, is that the Senate has passed Donald Trump's policy bill, ah the big, beautiful bill, as he called it, although um in a real, real petty, petty political move. And I love this.
00:50:06
Speaker
ah by Chuck Schumer. ah Not that I care about either side of the aisle. I just care about the pettiness of it. But Chuck Schumer made there a provision where it couldn't be called the Big Beautiful Bill. And because of some, I don't know how, but some kind of leeway or liability within the rule, he was allowed to actually strike it down.
00:50:25
Speaker
So that's some pettiness ah to 1,000. But either way, it passed 51 to 50 in the Senate. Now goes to House Vice President J.D. Vance was the breaking vote in that tie.
00:50:37
Speaker
ah Dissent came from three GOP senators over Medicaid and debt concerns. Tom Tillis being one, he will be stepping down after his term.
00:50:47
Speaker
As Trump said, he was going to run a primary him, which basically means just put an opponent against him. Also, Rand Paul from Kentucky finally does... Something smart by say speaking up and saying hey this is going to add three point three trillion Dollars to the debt.
00:51:07
Speaker
I don't know how many times I keep having to say this yes I understand that there are portions of this bill that a lot of people like I even like portions of it including No tax on tips, although that only lasts until he's out of presidency and then would be gone with the next president unless the next president decided to keep it going. So what's being kept going here are the Trump tax cuts.
00:51:33
Speaker
But the tax cuts are coming in favor of Medicaid. And SNAP benefits. I'm not going to talk all about it again. If you want to go back about a month ago, I talked about this in depth.
00:51:45
Speaker
So go check out, I think it was 30, it's like 34, episode 34. ah Go check that out and you'll see everything that you need to know about this bill. But it does. It cuts from Medicaid. It cuts from SNAP.
00:51:57
Speaker
um And it's cutting a lot of people out of those things. it A lot of people are going to lose their health care because of this. But not only that, on top of that, this bill is going to add the the Congressional Budget Office, um which is nonpartisan, says it's probably going to be around $3.3 to trillion over the decade that it would increase um While taking up to 85 million to 100 people off of Medicaid, taking people off life-saving medication and care that they need in order to survive.
00:52:40
Speaker
Now, look, I don't care where you stand about your politics. ah When people are dying, we don't need to be kicking them off of their health insurance. Again, I don't care where you stand or what you think about work requirements and stuff like that.
00:52:53
Speaker
Should able-bodied people go out and at least contribute to society? Yes, I do agree with that. But there are a lot of people out there that that aren't, and even if they're considered able-bodied, could still be ah disabled it in other ways that you may not see at the ah with the eyes.
00:53:08
Speaker
And those people need to be considered as well. But anyways, off my soapbox there, I just don't like this bilf because it adds so much to the debt, and it comes from the conservative side of the aisle, the Republicans who are all about Cutting the debt, especially when they had Elon Musk and Doge and, oh, we're going to cut the debt and we're going to cut all these programs and this and that, and then you come back and do this.
00:53:32
Speaker
that just The math ain't mathin', as the kids say these days. I'm just here to bring you the neutral point of view. I don't care about either party, as you know. I hate both parties. but I'm going to give you the facts, and that those are the facts.
00:53:46
Speaker
What else are facts? Oh, and I apologize. I said 85 million to 100 million. That is not true. Wow, wowsers. I said my number's incorrect.
00:53:59
Speaker
8.5 to 10 million people could lose Medicaid, so please let me correct that. I don't want to be cited as being ah spitting false narratives. I said my number incorrectly. Not 85 to 100 million, 8.5 to 10 million people.
00:54:12
Speaker
And 20% cut from SNAP benefits. Despite um that, it will be passed. Now it heads back to the House to see what happens there.

U.S. Military and International Relations

00:54:22
Speaker
In other news, there has been someone who has been...
00:54:27
Speaker
ah sort of attacked by President Trump over the past few weeks, and that is the new New York City mayoral nominee, self-proclaimed socialist,
00:54:38
Speaker
ah Zoran Mamdani, who, by the way, we're not going to start to do this again. All right, we're not. We're not doing this again.
00:54:49
Speaker
I don't. I don't care ah what side of the aisle, again, you sit on. I love you regardless of your political party, but we're not doing this again. We're not doing the birthright citizen bullshit that we did with Obama.
00:55:02
Speaker
We're not. We're not doing the same thing we did with President Barack Obama. right It's already proven this guy, yes, he was born in Uganda, but he is ah he has been in the United States and has been naturalized since 2018. But Donald Trump said that he would, ah I don't know, said all kinds of stuff about him because Mamdani said that he would keep ICE out of NYC facilities.
00:55:33
Speaker
So um obviously we'll see what happens there. ah But that that was crazy even that that guy won. This Mom Donnie guy, he had a 1% chance to win, y'all, when this whole like candidacy started like six weeks ago.
00:55:51
Speaker
And you will remember we talked about in this program, Andrew Cuomo, Andrew Cuomo, Yeah, Andrew Cuomo. I'm thinking about his brother, ah Chris, in my head, though. Andrew Cuomo and and mayor current mayor Eric Adams were the favorites.
00:56:07
Speaker
This guy had 1% and came out of nowhere. But because he he actually related to the people of New York City and promised to them to bring down prices because apparently a one-bedroom or, sorry, what is it, a two-bedroom?
00:56:23
Speaker
Or was it a one bedroom? One bedroom was like $3,500 in New York. I'm like, damn, I thought I paid a lot of money here in Nashville. But damn, that's crazy. Wowzers, y'all pay that much in New York? that cry I would never. I would never.
00:56:34
Speaker
I'm moving apartments now because I think I'm paying too much. And I'm only paying two-thirds of that. So, anyways, whatever. That's crazy. Y'all people that live in New York, y'all wild.
00:56:46
Speaker
Anyways, I feel bad for y'all. In other ICE news, ah here in Tennessee, I got to talk about this. ice This is very important that we need to talk about. ICE arrests in Tennessee have more than doubled in 2025, and i know a lot of y'all are cheering.
00:56:59
Speaker
Good, get those criminals out of here. And fine, because... I will say that before May, the ICE were actually cracking down on criminals.
00:57:10
Speaker
In the majority of the stops done in Tennessee, ah ah since the ICE arrests started until the beginning of May, the majority of the people arrested were criminals.
00:57:23
Speaker
They found 19% had no criminal record whatsoever. They found that 30, about 37%, I'm doing it from my head, 37% about thereabouts had a partial criminal or ah part a possible, maybe they were had pending charges, stuff like that.
00:57:42
Speaker
And then the other, whatever that is, 44% or 50%, something like that, did have criminal charges. But then in May, that completely flipped and the people that were arrested within these ICE raids in Tennessee, 70% of them had no criminal record whatsoever.
00:58:04
Speaker
And so this is what I talked about on my short that I created a few weeks ago, y'all. we This administration is cutting with a broad swath instead of a scalpel, and it's costing them, especially when it comes to times like this, when now you're arresting 70% of the people that you arrest don't have a criminal record at all.
00:58:24
Speaker
And now you've got to release them back. If they're not illegal aliens, like what are we doing right now? We said we're arresting criminals. Stick to that. Stop wavering on the issue and stop making mistakes because the mistakes are unacceptable because the innocent people and especially legal people then get arrested. And that is that's profiling. And I don't like it as a Spanish person, be completely honest.
00:58:46
Speaker
As a Puerto Rican man, I don't like it because if I drove, I could probably be profiled myself. Luckily, don't drive and I stay my ass downtown where they don't profile me. And I got yeah and enough money.
00:58:58
Speaker
Anyways, ah what else here? What else we got in the U.S. news real quick? Let me get it pop, lock, and drop in. Let's see. Oh, also in in other news.
00:59:12
Speaker
ah how about ah How about a little bit of this this wildness for you? Remember how I just talked about how the big, beautiful bill, or it's no longer called that anymore.
00:59:23
Speaker
But remember how I said that that was going to increase the debt by up to $3.3 trillion dollars is what they're estimating, or $3.3 trillion. dollars
00:59:36
Speaker
Why is it? Reminds me of that Sagat song back in the 90s. Why is it? Every time I go outside, these people always want to be talking my head off.
00:59:48
Speaker
Man, funk that. um Why is it that they're building an alligator Alcatraz? That is estimated to cost, get this, drum roll please, $450 million per year.
01:00:01
Speaker
Per year. Look.
01:00:08
Speaker
per year oh year look I'm all with getting rid of the criminals. And I'm even okay with you getting rid of the illegal ones that are innocent, if that's what you feel like doing, even though we've already gone back on that in agriculture and hospitality.
01:00:27
Speaker
But there is no reason for this. That is a complete waste of money. And I don't care what they said about where they're getting it from, Biden, housing, migrants, and this. I don't care. If you are talking about saving money, which the Republican side of the aisle, the conservatives say they are, if that is truly what you are trying to do, you save money at every turn.
01:00:44
Speaker
I'm saying I'm saving money now. That means I'm cutting down on my expenses, meaning I'm not going out to eat, meaning I'm not going out to have fun, meaning I'm not buying expensive trips.
01:00:55
Speaker
right So you can't talk one way and then be another way. Plus, you don't need this. We already have enough jails. We already have enough for-profit jails in this for profit for profit profit prison systems in this country.
01:01:06
Speaker
You don't need more. Just don put them somewhere else or keep deporting them like you were before if they're that criminal. keep sending them to El Salvador. I don't understand why this is needed.
01:01:18
Speaker
Save this money per year and give it to our veterans. Give it to the homeless. Give it to the mental health. Give it to anything that could help out this damn country.
01:01:28
Speaker
Instead of doing stupid shit like this that is performative nonsense for a show. I know he's ah he's a reality TV star. i know he was a businessman. But this is all for show.
01:01:39
Speaker
It's all for show, and that's just ridiculous. I cannot be down with spending that much money a year when you say you're trying to save money. I can't. can't be down with that at all. And then on top of the mega bill, you're doing that.
01:01:52
Speaker
On top of the $45 million you spent on um on ah on a military parade that we didn't need because we already everybody already knows we have the best military. Salute to all my veteran brethren. I love you.
01:02:04
Speaker
What are we talking about? What is going to happen is that a lot of rich people are going to get richer. Why don't we be 100 about that? There's a lot of tax cuts that are going to the wealthy. I know y'all keep talking about how y'all are going to get your taxes and this and that, and great, you will.
01:02:18
Speaker
It's estimated that the average American will get 2,000, a little over 2,000, 2,500, 3,000 back on their taxes, or coming back to them in taxes. Okay. Great.
01:02:30
Speaker
That's nothing compared to what the rich people are getting back. So we, the little person, are getting screwed because the rich people are getting more money back on their stuff. I'm tired of getting screwed by the rich person.
01:02:44
Speaker
And i I hope to be rich soon. I hope to be a billionaire. I will be a billionaire. But I will also give back. I mean, I already plan on giving back anyways, just to my causes. But I would expect that, just like I expect now, every rich person should have to pay a bunch in taxes.
01:03:02
Speaker
Because if you're making that much money off of society, and most of it, let's be honest, in kind of shady ways, through stock market manipulation, insider trading, so on and so forth, connections, deals, networks that you shouldn't have unless you had a certain amount of money.
01:03:19
Speaker
ah I mean, when does the little person get a shot? So, yes, i think every I think every rich person should have to pay more than their share.
01:03:32
Speaker
I don't even think it should be 35%. I think it should be 40% that they should have to pay. i mean, if you're making millions, billions of dollars, what the fuck does 40%, what does it half of it matter to you?
01:03:44
Speaker
None. You don't care. It's like pocket change at that point to you if you have that much money. Now, yeah, half would be kind of ridiculous. But 40%, not 35%, make it 40%. How about that?
01:03:55
Speaker
ah about that Anyways, ah just get off my soapbox again on that one. Let's keep it moving. um Secretary Defense Pete Heikseth has ordered a pause on shipments of missiles and am ammunition to Ukraine amid concerns about the U.S. military stockpiles, saying that our stockpiles are decreasing and have been depleted after years of sending Ukraine back. and as well as the military operations in the Middle East before that, as the U.S. fought the Houthi rebels, which, by the way, may be another war coming up soon, because, by the way, the Houthis just bombed Israel.
01:04:33
Speaker
So if you hadn't heard, the Houthis bombed Israel. So now Yemen, ah by the way... um Mike Huckabee, one of our ambassadors, called for B-2 bombers to bomb Yemen. I don't know what we're doing. um But, yeah, we do have to bomb the terrorists. I do agree with that.
01:04:50
Speaker
i I don't think we need to bomb a whole country of innocent

Trade Agreements and Economic Policies

01:04:52
Speaker
people. But, yeah, how about we bomb the Houthis? That's fine. I agree with that. ah Oh, and also... In updated news on... No, actually, you know what? We'll get to that in just a second.
01:05:04
Speaker
Let me make sure I don't have anything else here. ah Oh, that ceasefire deal that they announced last week didn't last at all. um But now, again, it's brought up today that they are talking about another deal, 60-day ceasefire.
01:05:16
Speaker
So while it didn't last through the first day, it then started um a day late, but now has actually... Gone? So anyways, we'll see. this It never lasts long. the As I told you all last time, these are light on execution, these agreements.
01:05:35
Speaker
They basically never last. So I don't know why we would expect this one to be any different. right All right. Make sure you subscribe to Ball and Buds, B-A-L-L-A-N-D-B-U-D-S. I don't know why this keeps...
01:05:49
Speaker
ah doing this to me, but that would have been your USA news. um And now we move into world news. Great. I don't know why that keeps taking it away from me. But anyways, ah let's see. Where are at?
01:06:04
Speaker
All right, 15 more minutes here. Okay, yes, updating you on the fallout of the United States and Israel bombing Iran. Obviously, Iran has said they are not going to give up fighting. And to be honest with y'all, ah Donald Trump talked a lot about obliteration last week. But you'll remember last week on this same program,
01:06:23
Speaker
I told you all that I looked at the satellite images, and I told you all that from looking at the satellite images that I did not believe there to be obliteration, that I believed that, yes, there was a good amount of damage, even even severe damage, but not debilitating damage. And i was I was right. It turned out that I was completely correct.
01:06:44
Speaker
There was no obliteration. It wasn't even, it's not even shown that we have, there were no expanded radiation levels, so it's not proven that we damaged any uranium.
01:06:55
Speaker
um ah The bunker bombs, which had never been tested before, so we didn't even know if they worked or not. just didn't work as well as they had hoped.
01:07:07
Speaker
ah So now, where I said last time that we talked, that Israel was at about a 30% capability, um if they lost anything from there, which again, probably after a few weeks, they may have been at 40% or 50% by then. But either way, if you think about maybe we took about 30%, 40% away, maybe they're down to 10%, 20%.
01:07:28
Speaker
percent ah Remember, it only takes six weeks to get from 30% to 90%. Now, if we damaged a lot of uranium, great. Then hopefully we would have. But again, there's no proof of that. And the damage is mostly to um buildings, shelters. Yes, there obviously is some to tunnels, uranium, enrichment facilities, obviously things that they have to rebuild, sure.
01:07:55
Speaker
But, I mean, it look at i look at Nashville. They built a damn condo in one year. So how how long do you think it's going to take them to rebuild their their facilities and then after that it's not long till they start purifying again and they already came out and said they were going to they said they're never going stop so we completely we didn't completely demolish their program which was the whole point of us bombing them was to completely demolish it off the face of the earth they could never do it again that didn't happen um so now let's say that they are able to rebuild in six months to a year start doing it again by a year and a half a year
01:08:29
Speaker
Maybe even if they if they're really quick, if none of the uranium was damaged, six months? they could be back up to having a nuclear bomb or nuclear capable at least.
01:08:41
Speaker
So we'll see what happens. At least there has been no other retaliation ah aside from when we talked about last week, them apparently attacked the bases in Qatar. Thank God all of our soldiers were safe.
01:08:55
Speaker
They did not obviously do anything after that, and that's good, but we can never put anything by them because they continued to say death to America and so on and so forth.
01:09:05
Speaker
So. All right. um So anyways, ah where was I at? Let's see.
01:09:17
Speaker
Oh, right. um
01:09:22
Speaker
Oh, that's what went along with that story. Iran actually came out and said that President Donald Trump is an enemy of God and called on Muslims um to make him regret his action. It's a religious edict ah known as a fatwa, um which is basically...
01:09:40
Speaker
i I guess, and someone can correct me, assassination loosely, I guess, um violence against. This was proclaimed by the Grand Ayatollah Nasser Makarim Shirazi. So again, look, I mean, they hate Americans. We needed to try to take them out, but we didn't do a good enough job.
01:09:58
Speaker
And now they can come back and now just try to hit us harder or even hit us easier or whatever, have better capabilities than they may have before, which was my main concern.
01:10:09
Speaker
So anyways, as always, we'll keep you updated there. in the in In other Iranian news, Iranian hackers have threatened ah President Donald Trump with an email dump.
01:10:23
Speaker
So an Iranian cyber group claims to have stolen emails from Trump and Trump allies, including Suzy Wiles and Roger Stone, and is threatening to sell them.
01:10:34
Speaker
ah FBI Director Kash Patel has vowed full prosecution so signaling Iran's digital retaliation as a response for the nuclear attacks.
01:10:45
Speaker
So that's more information right there on that. What else we got? Let's go into the world of tariffs. trump Donald Trump says that he has his first tariff agreement today as the first official, and we'll see how long this lasts.
01:11:00
Speaker
ah With Vietnam, says Vietnam will pay the United States 20% tariff on any and all goods and a 40% tariff on trans shipping, which, ah to be honest, he probably just thinks is...
01:11:16
Speaker
Shippings of trans people, I would assume, is that what he thinks that is. And that's why he's, ah, well, got to put an extra tariff on these shipping of the trans people. We don't want them coming over here.
01:11:30
Speaker
I can't. That was great. I don't know i thought of that. That was great. Anyways. um And that the U.S. will be able to sell our product into Vietnam at zero tariff. And says that that will spark the SUV market for U.S. SUVs in Vietnam.
01:11:47
Speaker
So we'll see if that actually happens in the future if they buy more SUVs. But it actually seems like that's a decent deal, to be completely honest, when I'm looking at both sides of that deal.
01:11:58
Speaker
It seems like that's a pretty decent deal. I don't, I mean... If they're getting cheaper goods into our country, they should probably have to pay more. And if they agree to pay more and let us get in there for free, then why wouldn't we take that? So if that deal can actually hold up, which, again, seems like a good deal for both countries, then that would be, ah you know, good for the United States.
01:12:18
Speaker
So we'll see you what happens there, and we'll keep you updated on that. In other words, in other news that could be considered a Trump win on tariffs, $106 billion have apparently been collected in tariffs since the Trump trade agenda was enacted. Congress.
01:12:35
Speaker
The CBP, Customs of Border and Protection, says says they have collected 100, and yes, by the way, they are the ones, which is crazy. I never knew that until I found that out a few weeks ago. ah the custom Customs and Border border um um border Protection,
01:12:50
Speaker
is the organization that actually collects overseas tariffs. That's wild to me. I would think it would be like the the financial bank or like the Fed or something. Anyways, they say they have collected $106 billion in customs revenue, mostly aimed at ta from the tariffs.
01:13:07
Speaker
ah The Department of Homeland Security claims a 99.5% collection rate. I don't believe 99.5% anything in life, so I don't believe that, but we we'll say it's above 90% and hope that that's good.
01:13:20
Speaker
And $16.3 billion were covered through enforcement of anti-evasion measures. So people trying to evade the tariffs they are collecting billions of dollars from. So again...
01:13:33
Speaker
If that trade deal does hold up with Vietnam, you would say that that first deal would be a win, and you would say if these numbers are actually true, that that would be good for the United States as well to be collecting that amount of tariffs. So you would definitely give those two wins to the president, Donald Trump.
01:13:50
Speaker
ah Obviously, I'm i'm neutral on this program, so while I am going to... critique both sides and both parties and definitely hit both of them when they're doing things incorrectly.
01:14:02
Speaker
And I do for Donald Trump. I will as well give him his flowers if he does something that's correct. And, you know, if those two things hold out, they would be positive for the United States.

Espionage Cases and National Security

01:14:12
Speaker
um In other news, the FBI has arrested Chinese spies targeting the United States Navy.
01:14:18
Speaker
Two Chinese nationals, Yuan Chen and Li-Ran Lai, were arrested for spying on Navy personnel and attempting to recruit U.S. Navy service members for Chinese intelligence. Wowzers.
01:14:34
Speaker
Wowzers. What? The plot was exploited by Chinese-American recruits revealing vulnerabilities in military recruitment and national security.
01:14:46
Speaker
Look, y'all, if you are in the military, Unless you already went in the military with a plan for sabotage, which if you do, then I guess if you can get through all that and get into the intel world, especially with ah having to get a security clearance and all that, well, I guess I got to give you your props for being pretty sly enough to get through there.
01:15:05
Speaker
But what I will say is as a veteran and as a former member of the government as well, I don't appreciate ah you being taken to the other side. Okay?
01:15:20
Speaker
Stop giving away our information. They're always trying to recruit you. The foreign adversaries and enemies, Russia, russia China, North Korea, they are always trying to recruit you.
01:15:32
Speaker
Do not give in to their cyber, their digital, their psycho warfare. Don't do it. You protect the United States and their secrets at all costs.
01:15:45
Speaker
I don't think I should have to say that to my military personnel. Brothers and sisters, I love y'all. My veteran brethren. Not even veteran, and active duty brethren. I love y'all. We've got to be smarter.
01:15:55
Speaker
Okay? Don't get fooled by the females from different countries because they're probably spies. Don't get fooled by anybody, man or female. Or maybe if you're a woman, you get fooled by the man. But I can tell you right now, it's quite common and in the and intel world, in the government, for foreign adversaries to use spies of the other sects to be able to persuade members of that country's military to...
01:16:21
Speaker
ah
01:16:24
Speaker
What's the word I'm looking for? Defect. Defect. Thank you, Omar. Complimented myself? That's great. And lastly, to get you out of here for the night because I'm tired and I want to be done and I want to go watch TV and I got a bunch of videos I got to edit from Country Box, by the way. Look out for the great video coming from Sergei Devrchenko.
01:16:45
Speaker
It very compelling interview that I had with him. It's going to be awesome. As well as Evander Holyfield's son, Young Holyfield. Got a really good interview coming out with him as well. um So shout out to Omar, the sports professor from second. Yes, that is myself. I just shouted out myself.
01:16:59
Speaker
But also shout out Country Box, Jimmy Adams, the rest of the crew there. ah Love y'all. Shannon Briggs will be fighting next month um in August is what they're planning. He had an injury. That's why he had to pull out.
01:17:11
Speaker
But again, a great ah show there last night. So finally, again, Malaysia. Bans US plastic waste imports so Malaysia will no longer accept plastic waste from countries not compliant with the Basel Convention um which will impact US states like California that export large volumes of trash.
01:17:33
Speaker
This move follows similar bans by Thailand and Indonesia, raising concerns about where the US will send all their future trash and recyclables. If you did not know, we send most of our trash and recyclables to Asia, all the countries in Asia. They've been stocking it up there in their landfills and so on and so forth.
01:17:53
Speaker
But they are now getting overpowered on their landfills like we are here. So now they are not letting us do that anymore, which makes sense. I wouldn't do it either if we didn't have space. I'm not going you give us trash when we don't have enough space for our trash. That wouldn't make any sense.
01:18:07
Speaker
But anyways, you know, this has been a long time coming. ah This has been years in the making. The U.S. has had time to figure this out, and they never did. Now we have a trash problem, literally, and now it's really going to turn into idiocracy.
01:18:21
Speaker
Have you all seen the movie Idiocracy? If you watch the show, you know I've recommended it. Plenty of times, one of my favorite movies in the world featuring Luke Wilson and Maya Rudolph.
01:18:32
Speaker
Great, hilarious ah comedy, but it does show where this world is headed to, and especially in the United States. So suggest you give it
