Introduction of Hosts and Guest
00:00:10
Speaker
Welcome back to the Sleepover Podcast. This is Fandames with Parks and Nebula. This voice you are hearing now is Nebula. This one is Parks, and today we have a guest if our guest would like to introduce himself.
00:00:21
Speaker
And I am Aaron Campbell. Hi, everyone. I'm a voice actor for anime. You may remember or know me from One Piece. I play Pero Sparrow in Blue Lock. I play Jingo Raichi. I'm Bondman in Spy Family. Most recently, though, in Campfire Cooking in Another World, I play Makoto. And that's been a lot of fun. Yeah, I'm excited to be here and talk
Challenges of Scheduling
00:00:44
Speaker
with you all. Woo!
00:00:45
Speaker
Thanks for being here and for rescheduling so many times. Hey, listen, I'm so sorry. A lot of it was on me. It's like my schedule changes at Crunchyroll and then like my schedule changes here. And then I'm on vacation. It's like, oh, great. Where is the time?
00:01:02
Speaker
That's what we're all in the throw of it because I had I was one of those reschedules at one point. It's fine. Everyone's good Yeah, I
Health Humor and Remedies
00:01:10
Speaker
actually kind of blame you a little bit because the last time I was sick and it was I got sick right the day We were going to record and now I'm getting sick again It happens to me all the time
00:01:27
Speaker
Yeah, you're like, we never want him back. No, not true. It's just that I have to stop up on all my like Zyrtec and stuff. And then I'm like, all right, anytime. Ready to roll. It's okay. Zyrtec and chased with the Dasani water bottle champagne. With my beautiful Dasani water bottle champagne. It looks really bad. It does look pretty bad. Don't show that on
Connections in Voice Acting
00:01:50
Speaker
camera. I'm sure it tastes great.
00:01:51
Speaker
It tastes fine. It tastes free. Our patients are going to watch you drink whatever the hell that is. It does kind of look like piss, but I mean, that's fine. I opened the fridge and was like, the hell is that? Oh, right. Oh, yes.
00:02:07
Speaker
I'm glad it's not whatever else it could be. Anyways, Aaron, it's awesome to see you and awesome to have you here. I love talking to you at Bonsai, so I'm glad that we were able to connect to make this happen because it's just a pleasure to know you. We know each other also through like Marianne and some other former guests who you've worked with both.
00:02:26
Speaker
on as cast members, but also through directing. So it's just awesome to connect all of the little dots. I feel like I had this same like conversation with Anthony Boling of like, it's just cool to know people who know people and then talk to those people about those people.
Acting vs Directing Insights
00:02:39
Speaker
Yeah. It's weird because it's like, it's, it's a big world, but it's such a small world too. You know, like I met somebody the other day and it's like five times removed from someone at Crunchyroll and they're like, Oh, like I know my brother who knows this person who knows this other person who knows, who knows like Anthony Boling. And I was like, what?
00:02:56
Speaker
And they're like, yeah, like, so like, I know him in a way, you know, I'm like, that is so bizarre to me that like how far removed people or how close people can be.
00:03:07
Speaker
Well, it's also just, I don't know, it feels like both me and Neb as outsiders because we're not voice actors. We're working on it, but we're not like voice actors and we don't come from a voice acting background. We're just two girls that have a podcast and shyly approach people with our little cards every convention and it works for us. So it's awesome when it's like,
00:03:26
Speaker
We don't have to do a lot of that heavy lifting anymore because the guests will be like, you guys are sick. Meet this guy. And then the next person comes on because we were told to email you before we even met at Bonsai. After Marianne came on, she
Aaron's Acting Journey
00:03:40
Speaker
gave us your email already. It was like, talk to Aaron now. And then, of course, there was a medical issue. I'm so sorry that happened to you then. But when I got my gallbladder removed? Yes. We emailed you two days before that happened. Oh, my God.
00:03:55
Speaker
Yeah, two days before and I messaged Nebula being like, do not expect an answer. Don't bother Aaron. Dying in a bed, you know, it's fine. But it was fine. I'm fine now. I have three beautiful little scars. Four. Me too. I have them all the way down. We match. Yeah. I can make like a cool like ship flag. Just trace a line. It's bizarre the way they do it, but yeah.
00:04:22
Speaker
Yeah, I have the same issue, but mine had a 99% rejection rate. I realize my camera's frozen. I'm just going to keep rolling past it. But my gallbladder was not emptying, so they pulled it out of me so fast. I got the matching scars to prove it. I hate having a human body. But yeah, we emailed you two days before that happened, and I was like, cut the cameras. Don't harass him. We will wait.
00:04:45
Speaker
No, you should have just kept emailing me and been like, listen, I know you're in an awesome operating room. I don't care. Get on the show. Thank you. You know.
00:04:55
Speaker
Record from the room. Yes. Yeah. Yeah, I love Marianne. And it is just such a tight-knit group of people. And being a director now and having worked on over 30 shows in the past year, I've worked with almost every director and multiple shows. And it's been really cool to see things from the acting perspective and the director's perspective because
00:05:22
Speaker
It's different to be an actor and director, right? And I've been very lucky to work with so many actors over the last couple of years now, being an assistant director for almost everyone at Crunchyroll.
00:05:35
Speaker
It gives me a different perspective on things as an actor now when I go into the booth as to like what a director sees and what they're looking for. Because when I'm directing someone, I'm looking for something very specific for my vision of how the scene goes and like the way that I want the characters to read to the audience. And it's weird because when I'm auditioning for things,
00:05:59
Speaker
I'm terrible at directing myself. I'll do an audition and I'll be like, wow, what was that? That sucked. And I'll be like, but I don't know how to fix it. What do I
Life in Oklahoma and Local Favorites
00:06:10
Speaker
do? And then another director will be like, just do it this way. And I'm like, oh, yeah, why don't I just do it that way? And so it's funny to have that carry over and just the differences between acting and directing now. The lines are blurred a little bit, but it's
00:06:26
Speaker
It's just two different worlds that I'm so thrilled to be a part of as a voice actor.
00:06:31
Speaker
Yeah. It sounds like it might be similar to, um, when you listen to your voice every day and then you hear your voice recording and you're like, what, I don't, how do I, is that really how I sound? Is that really how I do that? And then when you're trying to direct yourself, you kind of have that, like, I think I got this, but I don't know. And then you listen to it back and you're like,
Theme Parks and Attractions
00:06:50
Speaker
I didn't, did I really do it that way? Yes. Yeah. Uh, like there'll be times I'll be doing like a take a crunchy role and I'll be like,
00:06:59
Speaker
immediately I turn to the director I'm like can I just give you that one again that I don't know what that was let me just go up for it again because that was not it clearly and they're like yeah sure why not
00:07:09
Speaker
I think that's a good testament to your skill and your experience, though, because if you go in overconfident or underconfident and not being able to determine when you make an error or when you want to do something better or you know you could have done it better, like you're not pushing to that level, then that's when you're going to get stuck. But when you are able to say, actually, that was garbage, can we do that again? Right. Well, and I think there's like a fine line, right? Because like when you go in as an actor, you don't want to
00:07:35
Speaker
You don't want to be like, no, I want it this way for the director because in the end it's their vision. But when you're reading the line,
00:07:46
Speaker
There's this, I clearly put the emphasis on the wrong word in this particular thing that I just did, you know, and I'm like, let me, you know, and most of the time will be cool with it. Um, but it's also, you know, you do have to kind of take some chances and makes, have some risks when you're, when you're recording, because like you want to bring fun stuff to the table for the director to like go through and be like,
00:08:06
Speaker
Alright, I have option A, B, and C like what do I use out of those three takes. And I love when actors do that when they're like, I love working with Nizi Tarsha, who's awesome. He always throws out like a B and a C read when he has time to. And a lot of times like they're wildly different from his first take.
00:08:26
Speaker
And so I can take those as a director and be like, Ooh, like I love that first one. Ooh, I really like the third one. Yes. You know, and they're all different. And then, you know, I make notes for the other director and I'm like, Hey, this is the this is the one I chose. I do have options in different levels for these other ones, though. And so as actors going in and having that freedom and like relieving yourself of that burden of it has to be perfect.
00:08:52
Speaker
Um, is really good, but we do know when we F it up, you know, we do know when we're like, yeah, no, that sucked. I'm sorry. I'm just, my actor Carter's revoked right now. I do have that. Every actor has that though. You know, we all have that, like, well, that was terrible. Great. You know, let's do it again. So did you do acting as a kid as well, or is this something you got into later in life?
00:09:16
Speaker
So this is a question that well, the answer to this is weird because I did act on stage when I was little. My mom and dad put me in one of those little twirly caps that had a little propeller on the top and a rainbow colored. And I sang at a now defunct theme park called Mutton Hollow in Branson, Missouri for like a year. But I only came out for a couple of times and would sing the song on top of spaghetti.
00:09:46
Speaker
What? I don't know if you know that song. This sounds like a fever dream. You don't know on top of spaghetti? I don't. Oh, no. Okay, so it's like on top of spaghetti, all covered with cheese. Yeah, I do. Okay, yes, I do know this. Yes, I do understand, yeah. Anyway, that was like what I did, you know, for like a year or a year and a half or something. And then I stopped and like, I don't even remember it. Like I was that young.
00:10:12
Speaker
you know, but like the old people who were there for the craft festival, they loved it. And then I stopped doing stage stuff until I was like, maybe like 16 when I got my car, my first old Ford car, truck, whatever you want to call it. And I, my theater teacher, she was like, I had to take like the elective classes, right? For whatever, to round myself out as an individual so I didn't turn into a D gen.
00:10:42
Speaker
Turns out I'm a DJ anyway, you know. Okay, welcome to the club. So I took the class and she's like, I don't have any guys for our Reader's Theatre. You're going to be in it. And I was like, what? I don't know what that is. Anyway, I loved it. Reader's Theatre was great. The next year she made me audition for the musical. So I started off with a British musical called Some Things a Foot. It's like Agatha Christie, Murder Mystery. And then from there on, I just started doing a lot more
Anecdotes from Aaron's Career
00:11:11
Speaker
and then I got really into voice acting when I saw Lord of the Rings and the Two Towers. The cartoon one? No? No, no. Oh, okay, okay, okay. Yeah, it's crazy because like, I remember, and that was, I mean, I really started my more voice acting journey, and that was in eighth grade, so that was a little before I started doing stage stuff, but I knew that voice acting was like what I wanted to do. So up until that point in my career,
00:11:38
Speaker
career in eighth grade. I was like, I'm going to be an archaeologist. Hell yeah. I'm going to go to the desert and I'm going to uncover mummies and do Indiana Jones stuff. I played a really cool game in 2000s called Yeah. Yes. I was obsessed with it. There was a desert area called Al-Qarid and I loved it.
00:11:59
Speaker
And I was like, I'm going to be like that guy. I want the hat. I want like the weird vest. I want it all. And then I stopped. And I'm like, you know what? I want to be a voice actor now. Andy Serkis was awesome in that movie, the way he changed his voice. And I just started learning voice impressions. You know, that was like, I was like, I'm going to be learning how to do like this and that. And I
Delicious Food Experiences
00:12:20
Speaker
auditioned for America's Got Talent.
00:12:22
Speaker
And they wanted me to sign something that was like, we have your entire life for the rest of your life. Congratulations. And I was like, no. I didn't sign that, obviously. Good.
00:12:38
Speaker
That's terrifying. Yeah. Yeah. But I moved down to Dallas because, you know, I wanted to get my masters in acting. And then I pursued voiceover at Funimation at the time. I got called back in by Cliff Chapin, who, you know, Bakugo from My Hero, amongst several other really, really amazing roles.
00:12:56
Speaker
Oh yeah, I'm in love with his voice. It's a problem. Yeah. He's great. He and Kristin, his wife, they're both amazing people. But he called me in for some Walla and I did Darling in the Franks and the Silver Guardian II. Those were my first.
00:13:11
Speaker
ever voiceover roles in anime. And from there, I've just been working since. And it's been a dream. It's like that was 2018 when I had my first session. So I mean, five years now. And I've been in like 250 different shows. So I'm like, that's incredible. Yeah, it's been awesome.
00:13:32
Speaker
Wow. I'm going to back up really quick. What kind of fucking truck did you drive? I need to know. Okay. It was a, it was like a, it was a white board. It wasn't like a truck. Was it like an F one 50? No, no, it was, it looked
Deep Dive into One Piece
00:13:51
Speaker
It's like a Ford S. I can't even tell you, remember what the name of it was. Cause I only had it for like a long time. I always have to add from Oklahoma. It's where is it? It's right here. I drive through Oklahoma every time I go home, you know, or like five hours.
00:14:11
Speaker
Yeah, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Where do you live in Oklahoma? I'm in Oklahoma City. Okay, see, I go up there for commercials and stuff sometimes. Oh, well, the next time you're in town, you should shoot me an email. I would love to take you to dinner. No, I was there for Okicon.
00:14:26
Speaker
that's the one oh shit did you go that's the one i didn't no i didn't you went to which one did you go to i went to anime no you went to one before that though we're the one that you met john swayze at um oh that was a sooner con skipped okie con and then went to 405 evil so hold on you
00:14:46
Speaker
You being from OKC, you know the garage, right? Oh, absolutely. So I did a commercial for them like three years ago, and that was the best burger I've ever had. Afterwards, they're like, you want a burger? And I'm like, yeah. And it was so good. And so I took all the people who I was at Okicon with, it was Rico Fajardo, Molly Circe, Rico's girlfriend, and
00:15:10
Speaker
Bryce in Vegas. We all went to the garage and I'm like, y'all prepare to have your minds blown this burger. And it was amazing. They all had like two burgers each. It was sick. And we did the escape room at the sanctuary. And yeah, the sanctuary is awesome. So good. Yeah. Damn y'all put away two burgers each. Those burgers are huge. They're so good. They're so good enforcement for the garage.
00:15:31
Speaker
Next time you're in Salt Lake, I will take you to the best burger place of all time. But I also have a favorite restaurant. It's a secret, because it's a bar, and Utah, the bar scene's not very crazy. Just because, you know, downtown Salt Lake is where the temple is, so whatever. So no one goes for food. But White Horse is a bar and kitchen. I told fucking, can't think of names right now. Can't think of names. I was telling, damn, why do you have to think of names? Either way, I think it was Erica Harlicker. Yeah, no.
00:15:59
Speaker
Maybe. I don't know. I can't think of fucking names right now. I told her to go and she was like, I'm so tempted because I want a steak sandwich. Best steak sandwich I've ever had in my life. They have one in the SLC airport. I tell everyone, go to Whitehorse. So next time, I'm literally like, because Sunny and Chris, not Chris, Sunny and Damon Mills and Ian Sinclair are coming for a convention soon. I love Damon.
00:16:22
Speaker
And because Nev has gone to dinner with all three of them, I'm getting my say. And I'm like, I'm going to take you guys to get the best steak sandwich of all time.
00:16:33
Speaker
If you need food, I've got you. If you're ever back in Utah, cause I know where to get the best sandwiches, I know where to get the best burgers. I know the real scene because Utah is so in love with chain restaurants. I don't know why I just, they love a chain restaurant. So whenever it's about something local or like, you know, getting real food, they don't care. No locals actually care. They don't know what's good to eat.
00:16:57
Speaker
They just go to chains and it drives me insane. It's like you're here. Please try something good. Please. Did I tell you that I ended up going to lagoon?
00:17:07
Speaker
I had a season pass, I told you, I told you that. Lagoon was lit. Yo, I did all the roller coasters and it's weird because you go in and I'm sure we can talk about whatever. No, this is normal. This is for the course. Go in and you look to the left and there's the weird Dracula ride and you're like, oh, this is a weird dark ride.
00:17:28
Speaker
and then you go to the other one and it's like oh these were clearly built a long time ago and then you go all the way to the back and it's like this new roller coaster where you shoot things on the 3D screens and it's a roller coaster that turns that's like Disney level
00:17:41
Speaker
You know, the quality in ride varies dramatically. I worked there when I was 15. It was so fun. And so the first dark ride, there's like this nasty door you open up where the lockers are. And that's where all of the employee lockers are. And it's literally just full of like teenage trash. Because that's where we all hide, is behind Dracula's castle. I used to be like when you go in and you get your hands stamped, I used to do that for a year. And it was the worst job I've ever worked.
00:18:09
Speaker
ever. It was really good. It was a really fun time. I got to ride everything I wanted to and I had a beaver. Oh my God. My favorite thing, because you can bring alcohol in and that's not a requirement for having fun, but when you can go, because there's a liquor store around the corner and they're the only liquor store in the state that has coolers. And that's very important because Utah laws are so strict. You cannot get a cool beverage.
00:18:31
Speaker
But you can go get one there, and you can just bring them into the park. I put two tall boys in my purse, put them in my locker, and they stay cool the entire day. I go, I drink a little bit of a beat box, I'm good, best. Cuz I have a season pass, and I get them every year cuz my grandpa gets them for me. So whenever I have a free Sunday, because it's always dead, because everyone is at church, I take my tall boy, I go hang out in the lagoon for an hour, ride everything I want in the last three hours of the day, I go home. Beaver tail in hand. It's God's day.
00:19:02
Speaker
I really loved cannibal. I thought that ride was really cool. Um, I was scared to death on the chairlift. I got to ride it because I worked there the year that it was coming out and it was not able to be open at the beginning of the season. Like the new rides usually are. They try to have it done at the start of every season. They failed a primordial, but now it's back on track now because it opened up at like the end of October last year. So when you wrote it, that was like the first part of writing it brand new.
00:19:29
Speaker
Um, cause I got noticed cause they email all season passes and they're like, if you want to come on a weekday when we're off season to try it before we close, come do it. And I couldn't do it cause I just, I was concurrency for bonsai and try to finish all my panels. But, um, when I worked there, they were like, Hey guys, come try out cannibal before we open it to guests. Cause we're doing safety checks. It'll be fun.
00:19:49
Speaker
So I wrote it when I was 15 and before most of the safety checks were ready. So I was almost like they were not ready. Like the restraints were not ready. They're like, just try it. We'll see what happens. You guys are on a wave. You signed. You signed a waiver. Try the ride before it's fully open for everyone else. It did not open
Hunter x Hunter and Pet Love
00:20:10
Speaker
for another two months after I wrote it because they were not supposed to let people write it yet.
00:20:18
Speaker
Yeah. That ride is weird. Like, you know, well, it's not weird. It's a really fun ride, but it's like, it's so that park is so strange because the lore varies wildly in between different sections of the park. It's like, and now we're in a magical land with animatronic mooses. And then you go into pioneer village. And the only reason you go back there is to get the corn off the grill and ride rattlesnake rapids, but you never want to really ride rattlesnake rapids because it.
00:20:43
Speaker
You don't want to be wet the whole time. Just straight up. And they had to close the log ride. So there's now nothing back there besides the weird museums, the fizz, the only actual ice cream shop, and the corn place. But God, is it the best corn cob in the world sometimes? Nebula, have you ever been there?
00:21:01
Speaker
Yes, I went with Parker and some friends when we went to Fannock Salt Lake in 2022 and it was wild. So you understand that. I do understand. How weird it's like, oh, this is a really like old ride and oh, this is literally like cutting edge technology.
00:21:18
Speaker
Well, and there's a similar theme park in Oklahoma City that is just like a privately owned one. It's Frontier City. And they have... I've heard of Frontier City, yeah. It's not fun. It's not worth it. It's way too expensive for what it is.
00:21:34
Speaker
but when i was a kid and that was all we could do in the summer if someone's parent was willing to take you then you're like yes it's the best thing in the world and they have like the i think what's called the twister or like the cyclone or something and it's like you strap in you're hanging down from it and it's going in circles and goes all over the place it's super great and then
00:21:53
Speaker
Like right next door, they have the Wildcat, which is completely made out of wood and is older than me. That's the white rollercoaster. And it's very cheap. You know, ride that one with me at Lagoon because you were shit scared. You were so scared of riding it, even though I told you over and over again, they updated the cards. It's been reinforced a million times. It's because I heard something pop once when I rode the Wildcat at Frontier City, like pop off of it. It was like, I'm not doing a wooden one again. I can't do it.
00:22:23
Speaker
Yeah, wooden roller coasters are weird, especially ones that go upside down. If you've never been on one, I highly recommend it. Bizarre. What a kind way to say fucking terrifying, Aaron. I don't trust the G's that you can get on an upside down wooden roller coaster.
Conclusion and Gratitude Exercise
00:22:40
Speaker
That's not my thing. No, I'm not a fan of that. No. The coolest theme park that I've been to was called the Adventure Park in Glenwood Springs, Colorado.
00:22:52
Speaker
and it's built into the side of a mountain and one of the rides that they have is like one of those really big swings that just kind of like swings back and forth and it swings over the canyon so you're strapped in and you look down and it's just straight up the canyon um and they have this looks dope as hell yeah it's awesome um there's like these bullet-shaped two-seaters like the bobs and they don't
00:23:17
Speaker
Yes, they don't have an engine. They don't have anything that's actually mechanical. It's just a sled on a rail, and you're going down the side of the mountain. Kind of like the alpine slides that we have at Snowbird and stuff. Yes. It's like the alpine slides, but you just go down the side of the mountain, and it's so fun. And they have cave tours. So they have caves that they've found in the same area that you can go through and see all these really gorgeous stalagmites and stalactites, and then go right back out.
00:23:45
Speaker
I was a cave guide for a while. Have you ever been to Silver Dollar City? No, I haven't, which is like a crime if you're a Southerner. It is. I was going to say, particularly for you, Nebula. It's like, I can't believe you live in Oklahoma. You've never been to SDC. What? No. I was a cave guide for like years before I moved down here. That's awesome. Yeah. I love caves. Love caves so much. Yeah, that's really cool. Adventure. Nuggets with wings.
00:24:13
Speaker
That is what they are. They are, they're fuzzy, they're small and they just, they love to be up on the ceiling. Yeah. Yeah. So Adventure Park in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, highly recommend it. Super cool. You can't drive to it. You have to be taken in a cable car up to it. So they like, yeah, they have to like, you got to go on the Fortnite bus and then they drop you right in. Where we dropping boys?
00:24:40
Speaker
Well, if either of you are ever back in Utah during the fall, Snowbirds, because we have like 20 different ski resorts, all clustered in between two canyons, all in the same mountain ridge. But Snowbird has the best Oktoberfest, because something about just getting a big beer and then going down 20 alpine slides, because it's unlimited when you get the pass. Going on 20 slides after a big beer is the best feeling in the world.
00:25:04
Speaker
We also have the Olympic Park and you can do the same thing because the Olympic Park, because we got the 2003 Olympics, Winter Olympics, all of that is still here. So you can go down the big like hills that everyone was skiing down on big tubes. It's the best. I love it here. I live in the middle of nowhere, but we have everything I've ever needed and it's the best.
00:25:26
Speaker
So next time Aaron is at a con in Salt Lake, I'm hearing we all go to Lagoon together. I told you, I told you, like if you want someone, I'm free and I got passes and I can go whenever I want.
00:25:39
Speaker
Yeah, let's do it. That's awesome. Yeah, it's fun. It was, I'm glad you had fun. I'm glad you came. Cause it's like, no one in Utah knows what to look for. So whenever we have guests here, they're like, I just slept in the hotel, went to the cot and had to leave. Like, no, I like to explore the area. You know, I like the, uh, like, I don't know. Next time I'd be in Salt Lake city, it was my first time in Utah ever. And I was like, I'm gonna go to this theme park. Like it looks weird and fun. So I did. And it was, and I had a beaver tail for the first time. It was great.
00:26:07
Speaker
Yeah, it's hard to believe there's also a huge water park in there. And it's even better when the water park is open because everyone is at the water park and not in the other ways. The lines are way shorter. Summer is peak because it's just you go on a Sunday during the summer, everyone's at the Laguna Beach for most of the day, or they're at church and not around.
00:26:29
Speaker
You take your tall boy and you go day drinking. Take your tall boy, go day drinking, don't get sick. God, don't get sick or you ruin the whole thing. Get a funnel cake and a beaver tail at the end and you're done. Free reign. I had two beaver tails. I had two different ones. I had the banana and that's usually when I get it. And then I had like, there was one that was like a heath bar one or something that was like,
00:26:52
Speaker
They don't open for a month. Now I'm thinking about it. My sister texted me. She's like, I want to ride a roller coaster so bad. I'll have to wait a month. Now I have to wait a month for another Beaver Tail because Beaver Tails are a chain. We don't have them anywhere else but Lagoon in Utah. So if you want one, you have to go to Lagoon for it. And I hate it. Damn. I want one so bad. So I was wondering why I'd never seen them at like other theme parks. At least none that I think. I think Knott's Berry Farm does them, but.
00:27:19
Speaker
They seem wildly popular. I agree. Oh, my God. Now, do you know what a beef tail is? Nope. I'm super down. Do you know what a Utah scone is? Do you know what a Navajo taco is? No. What the fuck? It's a fry bread. It's basically a big fry bread. So you get dough and you deep fry it kind of like a donut.
00:27:46
Speaker
What? Like a funnel cake? Yes, but no. Funnel cake is a thinner batter. So it's like kneaded dough that you fry. I feel like I'm being interrogated. You fry it, and then you usually will go and coat it for beaver tails. They coat it. They cut a pattern into it. So that way you can put cinnamon and sugar inside all the crevices. So it's basically fried bread with cinnamon and sugar on it. And then you put on whatever topics. Oh, OK. I understand that. They're very, very big in Utah as scones. And we usually do them as honey butter. We have different scones. I don't know how to describe it.
00:28:17
Speaker
I don't know how to describe it here, but they're delicious. They're the best. But beaver tails are basically the same thing, just they're trademarked for having cinnamon and sugar and whatever other toppings you want slathered on them and you get them hot and it's the best. I love hot dessert bread. Okay, hold on, pause. Aaron, you're still in DFW, right? Oh my God. So Parker, I have to reveal to you.
00:28:43
Speaker
The best dumpling place we have ever been to was in Irving when we went to Akon. So it's like right around the corner from the Irving Convention Center in this tiny little strip ball. It was just called Shaolin, wasn't it? Yes, Shaolin's kitchen Irving.
00:29:00
Speaker
It was so fucking good. I think we went twice and we ordered everything on the menu both times and did not leave until we were practically rolling ourselves out of the door because of how stuffed we were. It's so good. I need you to go.
00:29:17
Speaker
shall we yes um it's right next to the Irving convention center um hold on hold on are you talking about yes uh huh yes listen this is a photo on my phone that i took from the first time i went there it's so good i did the same thing november 27 last year i went there it's the best dumpling i've ever had i sobbed my eyes out
00:29:43
Speaker
I had like five trays and the soup was so good. And like, I also had the honey chicken, which is amazing. It's so good. Number three of us. And I think we did like eight baskets of dumplings. It was insane. I sent it to Colleen. Colleen, you like soup dumpling.
00:29:59
Speaker
This is the place. We were after a gun and we were starved to death because right after a con like I desperately need to eat. We did not expect it to be good because we're in the middle of Texas. I'm not expecting like peak Asian food in the middle of Texas. Five minutes. They got some good. Oh my God. It was the best. Um, a con is not happening this year.
00:30:17
Speaker
And that was fine. But when I found out, I had a sobbing meltdown, not because I couldn't see my Texas friends, not because I'd miss out on the conference, because I've been thinking about shellings, dumplings for the last year. There are no places in Utah to get good dumplings. I have never, I took Chinese for three years through middle school, but I also did like a cultural integration program. So I learned how to cook Chinese food. I have never made or had a dumpling so good.
00:30:46
Speaker
I cry about it. Yeah, that place is pink. Yeah, when you come back to Dallas, I will hit that place up with you. Please, please. It's the best for you. That's our favorite place. Also, we're like, I need to take a photo. It was. It was so good. I'm like, I'm telling everybody I know about this place because of how good it was. Well, Mary Ann, because we told her to go, she's like, I don't have anyone to go with. Please.
00:31:08
Speaker
Take your roomies, take anyone, take everyone. They have to experience it. It brings me to tears to think about because I just... Wow, it's so good. Wait, we have a picture of Parker when she was eating one of the soup dumplings for the first time that I...
00:31:29
Speaker
But I needed to show you this because it was like she was having a religious experience. That was your first time trying dumplings. Dumples. Dumples. Yeah, dumples. That was your first time. Yes, it was my first time having dumplings, like authentic Chinese dumplings. And it was
00:31:46
Speaker
a dream come true and it has ruined me for everywhere else because it was too good damn it i don't have the photo i'm straight up gonna find it and email it to you when i find it because it's her just like i was in tears my makeup is halfway off because we did not have enough time to really go to like the hotel room um wow we went twice i need to go back honestly it's
00:32:08
Speaker
All right, next time, next time we're all on DFW. I can't. We're gonna buy you dumplings, Aaron. I'm ready. No, I will buy you dumplings. Oh, you're so sweet. Thank God that you know it because it's like, I feel like I brought it up to almost everybody. We bring it up to everyone. He's like, I'm in Dallas. I brought it up to Travis. I brought it up to Kevin, like everyone. Like, Hey, you want some dumplings? Go here. And no one else is like, I've never been out that way. I'm not usually in Irving.
00:32:32
Speaker
Please. Okay, but like go there. Like make the trip. It's worth it. It's not just the dumplings. Oh my god. It's the best hot and sour soup I've ever had. Ever. And I am a hot and sour soup girl till I die. And I get the, I get it every- You're a hot and sour soup. I know. Honestly. I get it at every restaurant. When I came home, we're like, I want Chinese food again. I got my soup. I cried because it was not the same. And I, I'm an emotional person. I will start breaking down if my soup isn't right.
00:32:59
Speaker
And I can't bring back what Shaolin's Kitchen gave to me. It's so good. That is so funny. Again, small world. Small world. Small world. Yes. It's, yeah. Okay. I love that we've derailed about food for 20 minutes, but you do have a hard stop. So I am pressed to ask you, Anna. Please do. Please do. Sorry.
00:33:21
Speaker
So we're kind of on a quest to get as many one-piece voice actors on the show as possible because we are obsessed. Obsessed, obsessed, it's a problem. Parker's cosplayed almost every version of Nami that exists, pretty much. I am so deeply, gutturally offended that Carrot is not a straw hat, but it's fine.
00:33:41
Speaker
I would love to hear some of your favorite moments voicing Para Sparrow because that's a really interesting character and I feel like he doesn't suit your personality very much, so I would love to hear it. Yeah, so I'm a massive fan of One Piece. It's the manga that I read every week. I watch every episode. I have
00:34:01
Speaker
ever since I caught up like years ago. And my favorite moment with him is the carrot and wanda fight. I really I will because like Anthony when he was directing, he's like, I want you to be really nasty with it. And you know, because it's very
00:34:20
Speaker
When he has got them in his candy goo, you know, it's, it's, and I don't use this term lightly. I feel like for him, whenever he's torturing people, it's almost erotic in a way. Yeah, I can feel that. And he enjoys it. The performance in the J was amazing. And so whenever we got to the part,
00:34:43
Speaker
candy tentacles of all things. You know, that's not in the manga, but they did do it. That's how I loved it. And so they leaned full into it, which is great, you know, because like it shows like whatever. But yeah, that that fight between them was really fun because I really got to lean into his sinisterness because I knew that like he wins that fight, you know, and just dumpsters both of them and goes on to to fight Nakamushi later.
00:35:11
Speaker
So I got to really play up like the fun villain and and really play up that part, which was just so much fun. You know, whenever I play him, it goes to the back part of my throat. And I came up with that voice because I wanted to take some from the J. And then there's a there's a movie called Chitty Chitty Bang, the child catcher. You know, he's got a really long nose. Oh, God damn it. That's from Lollipop.
00:35:38
Speaker
ice cream!" And so I took a little bit of both of that, and whenever in the J, I listened to, like, where is his, like, laugh coming from? You know, because the laughs are, like, so important for all the characters. And it came out as the cuckoo cuckoo cuckoo. And so everything starts in the back part of my throat, and it sort of comes out in that way.
00:36:01
Speaker
And, uh, yeah, he's, he's one of my all time favorite characters. Cause I don't, well, up until recently, I haven't played a lot of villains. This last year, I started playing way more villains, which was fun. Um, but yeah, that scene in particular, I remember being like, now the get licked cutie or something like that. And that was fun. Aaron, in the nicest way possible, your Paris Pero voice is disgusting.
00:36:27
Speaker
Because every scene he's on, I'm uncomfortable. It's like, I hate you.
00:36:38
Speaker
It's, it's crazy because I did never think that like, I would be like, play him, you know, when I was reading the manga, I wasn't going through being like, I'd love to voice this character. Then the auditions came out and I was like, Oh my gosh, I want to voice this character. And, uh, it was like, cause he came out before the Katakuri sides came out, you know, and Jonah is amazing as Katakuri. And like we have, it was, this was all a lot during COVID too. So like a lot of the big mom pirates are from like different.
00:37:03
Speaker
and like different places. And so having all these voices come together up through Wano has been so much fun.
00:37:12
Speaker
I am a Carrot cosplayer. Carrot's my main bitch. I love her so much. I love her so much. So the next time you're at a con that I managed to get to, I'll bring Carrot and we can take a little selfie together. Well, it was big when we got to combine Eli and Aaron because Eli has been like, every time Eli posts a Perrosboro cosplay photo, everyone on Twitter is tagging Aaron to look at it. So when they finally got to me in person, it was huge.
00:37:34
Speaker
Oh, that's so cool. I have a picture still on my phone. It's my. He's cosplayed almost every kid at this point. He's still working his way through the circle of finishing oven because he's finished. I fuku. He's finished Perrosboro. He's working on oven. I have to finish making cracker again, but it's like the big mom kids are still one of my favorite rotating crews. So I like collecting all of them for the podcast. It's like they're all here with the whole family's here because I do. I do have.
00:38:01
Speaker
I always wonder, like, because, you know, Oda in One Piece loves to bring back characters that he has because, you know, nobody really dies unless it says and unless it's flashback, you're not safe. Yeah. And so, like, you know, like Para Sparrow gets spoiler alert if you're not caught up by this point. I don't know. We're an arc and a half ahead on that. So Para Sparrow gets defeated by Nekomushi. Right. But it doesn't say like he dies.
00:38:25
Speaker
Is there a point in which the big mom pirates come back at some point and like Katakuri shows up? At least Katakuri, guarantee you very much. Okay, it's not a manga spoiler anymore because it's been animated that the Blackbeard pirates have pudding and we saw a cracker die. Sorry, spoilers if you did not watch the last episode. We saw a cracker die question mark because without Kiji,
00:38:49
Speaker
People still are alive after Aokiji, even though they look like they're super dead. I don't know. But we are seeing Big Mom Pirates again this far past Wano after we supposedly saw most of them die or get knocked off the waterfall. So there is a chance we do see Katakuri return to come get pudding, or we have to drop pudding off with Big Mom Pirates again.
00:39:12
Speaker
We never know. But a lot of people currently are in because I'm an admin for a really big one piece group on Facebook. And most of the theories are like categories coming back to Alliance with Luffy because he respects him so much. He's going to save putting and bring her back home, blah, blah, blah. It's like, okay, yeah.
00:39:27
Speaker
Well, he finally got a funk about who Katakuri did. Yeah. After like, I was like, wow, like they're doing like the 15th iteration of like these other characters. Let's give them a boy Katakuri. I finally did. Yeah. Yeah. That's how I feel about Karen. Everything. Yes. Yes. I'd love to see.
00:39:45
Speaker
So when I was in New Zealand for a con called Armageddon Expo, which was amazing, I had a fan that Oh my God!
00:39:59
Speaker
Whoa! Like a ferro spiro funko. That's so cool! They hand-molded it out of clay and everything, and it was just so surreal that they gave it to me. That's awesome! Yeah, I just love the design of it too, right? It's very, like, this is really cool.
00:40:18
Speaker
I was just thrilled when I got that. Anyway. I need to figure out the person who made Eli his custom, because he has a little perils for a plush that someone made him. And I need to figure out who made it to him. Someone else who didn't make it on Etsy was someone that made it for Eli. But I can figure out who it is. You need to make one for Aaron right now. Because we need to get all of the niche merch for him.
00:40:40
Speaker
I need more Para Sparrow merch. There's not enough out there. It's like and if they do, it's all the stuff that you can get at Universal Studios Japan whenever like Para Sparrow is in the rotation, which is very rare at this point because they're he's in the room currently. He is yes, they do have it because they swapped through arcs like every other month or so.
00:40:58
Speaker
I think it was at Gerros Rosa a month ago because Eli was posting about Senor Pink being in the rotation again. So I don't know where we're at, but they do cycle through because they do the huge like play or like stage play for everybody and have like running up and down the audience. And Perosboro is in the mix. Not all of the big mom kids are. I think Flampay is, Katakuri is, I don't think Cracker is, Perosboro definitely is. But I think they pull him out for some Wano stuff.
00:41:28
Speaker
he probably has a little bit more rotation than some of the other characters. But so cool. It's awesome. And they have like his whole tongue prosthetic that they make for Universal Studios Japan. It's cool. I love Universal Studios Japan one piece stuff. I have to import so much of the merch because it's in rotation and I can't go to Japan right now. But that's where you get your new schmerch when it comes to these characters. I need to get some of that.
00:41:53
Speaker
For sure. So Aaron, we asked Anthony this whenever we interviewed him. And since you have been on both the directing and the acting side and you're caught up on One Piece, I would love to know if you have a theory as to what the One Piece is or what Luffy's dream is. So Anthony and I talked about this ad nauseam one day when we were at lunch. Anthony had heard some fan theories which were wild to me. And
00:42:22
Speaker
You know, obviously like the answer that I don't want it to be is like the one piece is like the friendships we made along the way. Right, obviously. But Oda has said like, no, like it's an actual thing.
00:42:36
Speaker
Anthony said once that he read a fan theory that Luffy becoming Joyboy, uh, will leave the planet and go spread joy to the rest of the galaxy or something. Right. Um, I, I thought that for a long time, the one piece was like, maybe like the tree where all the devil fruits grew. Um, and like, that's where they all came from. And, you know, I really
00:43:06
Speaker
But Roger laughs when he gets there, right? So like, what is it that's on the island that is like laugh worthy? And laughing because he knows he can't do anything with it yet because Joyboy has to do something with it, right?
00:43:20
Speaker
Well, I don't know. It just all that we have is like, and he laughed and he laughed. Yeah. Yeah. But I don't, I don't know. Maybe it's something that can control all of the, uh, like the big weapons, you know, like pluton and like all these different things. Maybe it's like.
00:43:40
Speaker
The thing that's crazy is nobody has ever reached it except the Roger Pirates, you know, and they all know what it is, but nobody says anything about it. And, or at least to our knowledge, you know, and I think, I think my theory is still that it's like some, I just don't know because like, what would cause like the strongest pirate in the world to laugh?
00:44:03
Speaker
like an orange, a citrus fruit. I don't know, he's got scurvy or something. So he's like, aha, just what I needed. Yeah, perfect. Here's your fucking dragon fruit, Roger. Yeah, like I really don't know.
00:44:16
Speaker
You know the theories can get pretty wild that that Luffy leaving space like earth and going like with an Enerue or an L spaceship like off into the ether and I mean Enerue's on the moon right now so anything's possible we've seen the cover story and he's chilling up there you know he'll come back at some point I don't know
00:44:36
Speaker
Yeah, but I really don't know what I think it is other than like, that's my best guess is that like, it's like something the world government is trying to hide from everybody. They can't move. It can't be physically moved. Maybe it's like a key that unlocks all of the oceans and makes them one or something.
00:44:54
Speaker
I think that's the most popular theory to it is that like once you do so and can eliminate the red line and like join the whole ocean. Yeah, that's the most popular theory I think that comes from a lot of the one piece YouTubers is like once Luffy does that he becomes Joy Boy and gets the secret
00:45:12
Speaker
like from whatever is on Raft or Lafftail and I don't know why I keep calling it Raftail like I'm not aware of the spoiler. Well that's what we thought it was for a long time until it turned into Lafftail. I always knew it as Lafftail and I thought it was just a translation error like Zolo is sometimes so when I watched the Odin flashback and they're like it's Lafftail I'm like I wasn't supposed to know.
00:45:37
Speaker
It was, it was always Raftel. I was the wrong one. I should not have known that. Oops. But yeah, whatever secret is there is like Luffy is going to be able to demolish the Grand Line and unite the ocean. And that's why like people think because it's gonna be like lining up with Sanji's all blue is when all of them and becoming king or like a swordsman. Inami being able to map the entire world. Yeah, exactly. That would be, you know, like all these different things.
00:46:05
Speaker
yeah i think the red line and all that was built at some point or something happened in the void century where that all just you know there's all that stuff with uh
00:46:17
Speaker
Yeah. That is like, what kind of weird Sasuke-looking motherfucker are you? You know, it's like, you're going to whip out the sharingan and smoke half the population. Like, what's happening there? Yeah, anyway, that's my thoughts on it. I'm really excited for it. I'm not excited for Egghead to be animated because it's going to be so much more agonizing than the Odin flashback was. I'm not ready.
00:46:45
Speaker
hmm parker like cries at every single chapter we get with akuma flashback and i just get anytime it drops i get my dms flooded with are you seeing this shit i can't handle this what the fuck you know i'm surprised it's i love always seeing the new openings and the new opening slaps you know it's incredible i always love to see how far they go in the story
00:47:05
Speaker
with the new openings. I'm like dang they're like near caught up with like where the manga is in that opening. Well you see like a shadow of Saturn on it. Like oh like we're just putting this out here right now. Okay. Right. I'm uh I'm really excited to see all the Gorosai of Gorosei. I'm excited to see what they do. What all of their things are because like if they all got stuff like Saturn does you know it's like
00:47:28
Speaker
We're cooking right now. We have real stuff on the table. I'm excited for it. We're cooking, we're eating. There's a buffet, the One Piece table, and we're eating the devil fruits. And this is Frankie's arc. We are getting Frankie development. He's doing stuff now. He is not just fixing the dam, Sonny. We win.
00:47:48
Speaker
He deserves it. He does. Our boy Frankie's been in a rough spot ever since the recent piece to his wanted poster being the sunny. I don't know. I know. I know. What I also wanted to ask about specifically was working on film read because, you know, it's not huge that he comes back, but he does come back because, you know, big mom pirate stuff. I'm trying to I don't know why I'm like trying to talk around spoilers like this movie hasn't been out for like two years.
00:48:16
Speaker
Well, yeah, it's been like two years. Oh, well, it has been. But it's the way that because film read was kind of a big spoiler for the end of Wano for people who did not read the manga. So because it's supposed to be after the events of Wano, but before Egghead, but because movies are non canon, it's like. For Egghead, right? You get a glimpse into. Yeah, live and big moms defeat, but not defeat because she's
00:48:44
Speaker
I don't know. Right. It's weird, but also Uta is canon. But not canon. But she appears in the anime as well, so it's like in Shanks talks about her. And her shadow appears in the manga now, so it's like, all right, let's do it.
00:48:59
Speaker
But we'll never ever get confirmation if Big Mom is truly dead or not. But how was it to come back as Perosper? I mean, I know it's not crazy extensive compared to some of the other Big Mom kids who are a little bit more participant in everything that's there. But, you know, it's always nice to have it thrown your way when your character finally comes back for something, especially in one piece where it's so long. Right. So that was actually recorded
00:49:23
Speaker
way before I was done with Wano's stuff. Because I don't think in the current batch, does he have his final fights here in the current batch? I think Colleen finished recording, or started and finished recording Joyboy.
00:49:37
Speaker
it from the last so so that the next the next batch that comes out then will be your five stuff so i think he para sparrow has just barely gotten having a spider and being defeated so like yeah all that was recorded like full forever ago you know but that was still uh
00:49:57
Speaker
Red had been done before I had finished the main recording. I would have loved for that to be a welcome back moment for that one bit, but it just felt all the same to me because it was still recording stuff at the same time. But it helped that you also knew One Piece, so you knew it's like, oh, I'm not here to play a character that won this fight.
00:50:18
Speaker
Yeah, exactly. Exactly. I'm glad. I love little cameos and stuff like that though. Cause it just means any chance. Anytime. Yeah. Anytime they can bring them back is, I think is always fun. The chaotic of having to record the code and then piece it all together.
00:50:35
Speaker
for real. I love that you're such this bright, shiny human and then you play this disgusting, awful, horrible villain and we're like, we love him. You get mixed reactions too. My process at the beginning was not what he turned out to be like a couple episodes in. At first, I didn't really lean into
00:51:00
Speaker
I tried to not, I don't want to say it's like a faux British that I go into, but at the very start, there's like a little difference between where I started as Pero Sparrow and like a few times in when I, and there's like a moment where I'm like, no, I just got to like crank it up to 12 and like really go ham with it, you know? And I think everybody's process changes a little bit like that, but he has been, he's been a blast to play for sure.
00:51:27
Speaker
That's awesome. Yeah. You made a terrible, terrible, very unredeemable character, very pleasant, but not at the same time. Like I can't deny he's one of the most well acted like characters and he's an extremely good villain, but he makes me he makes my skin crawl. I hate him.
00:51:47
Speaker
Terrible pero sparrow does nothing wrong, you know That wasn't his he would you know Pedro was the one that did all that and oh yeah, of course home Of course, I will stand that story for forever. I hear this you turn this despicable mobster into a baby girl
00:52:06
Speaker
I genuinely do see like baby girl Para Sparrow are online all the time and it's like I don't think we watch the same One Piece guys. I'm gonna be really really honest. I don't know who that man is. That's not the weirdo that I know.
00:52:22
Speaker
But it's like, there's certain characters where you hate them and hate everything they do because they just make your skin crawl, but you can't deny that the performance is so good. It's like Keith Silverstein's Hisoka in Hunter Hunter. It's like, I hate you. Wow. This is incredible acting. I hate that what you're doing, though. Yeah. Hunter Hunter's another one of my favorite animes. I really hope they continue to animate it.
00:52:49
Speaker
because there's, you know, there's like enough to do at least like a couple episodes. You know, I just, I want, I want Tagashi to like, heal up, bless, and to get that, my Corgi. Hello, Pancake. Pancake? Yeah, do you want to see him? Yes. Oh, he's a big boy. One, two, three. Oh. Yeah, Pancake!
00:53:17
Speaker
That's so, he's so cute. He loves the booth. Do you think of it as like his den? He comes in and he lays down. Oh my God. So my cat's name is Lunchbox. So this is the first time we've had two food related animal names on the show. Love it. Food names for animals are the best. Yes. It's the best.

Well, I think that's a really good transition into our final segment so we can get you out of here on time. For those who are new to the show, we have a fun little gratitude exercise called boss battles and beach episodes. A boss battle is anything shitty that we've overcome recently, and a beach episode is something positive that we look to that helps us see the brighter side of things.
00:54:02
Speaker
Parker, would you like to share a boss battle and give a little example? My boss battle right now is that because the year has started and I had a convention last week, it means I am fully in the trenches of con season. And now I have a convention every single month until June. And then and they're all travel cons. Only one of those is in the state of Utah. So I have to go to Seattle next month and finish building all of my costumes for that. And I have to make
00:54:30
Speaker
three new ones, four new ones. So that's cool. Definitely not more stress. And then I have level up immediately after at the end of the month. So three weeks apart from me traveling to Seattle and then Vegas. And then after that, May anime town is happening. And I'm only going one day just because I don't
00:54:50
Speaker
like the anime town owner very much, but I want to see my friends who are voice acting and showing up, because I'm going to go see Sunny, if I could see Sunny. Yeah, I'm in the middle of con season. It just means I have a lot of work to do, and I'm very tired of working. I'm a bitch busy. But, and the ache isn't happening, so I guess I'm free for the summer, but still sad about it. Nebula, what's your boss battle? Oh. Aaron. I'm going to let Aaron go. What is your boss battle?
00:55:19
Speaker
So my boss battle is, recently I went to LA and I did some really cool filming for some stuff there. And I was like, I need to get a haircut and shave for the next day for some filming for another project. And the hairstylist nuked my hair. So this has been growing since January 15th or so. So it was like buzz cut.
00:55:47
Speaker
and like it's ruined my auditions for the past for on-camera stuff for the past like two months and i'm so ready for it to grow back out because it's still so short um anyway that's my been my boss battle it's been fine um that's tough yeah that fucking sucks dude yeah it did it really did suck it looks good now though well thank you yeah i've been growing it out as hard as i can
00:56:12
Speaker
And then my beach is how you said my beach story. What is it? Hold on. I'm going to share my boss battle very quick. And then I'll introduce you to my boss battle, which I will basically have two because one until September is that I'm wedding planning and it's kicking my ass and I. It's a lot.
00:56:29
Speaker
But we're getting there. And then the other one is that I can't stop fucking sniffling. I've had the sniffles all day. I had this. They started coming on last night. I hate them. I had to sneeze so many times during this recording. I'm just willing them away. That is my boss battle is my own goddamn nose. And now you make sure your beach episode, my beach episode, um,
00:56:55
Speaker
You know, recently it's been finally getting to announce that campfire cooking in another world with my absurd skill because like I've been holding on to that for so long and like we did never know if it was going to be released, but finally it is and it's all out. And if you like slice of life and you like food and you like comedy and you want to hear Pero Sparrow and Katakuri in the same show, Be Leads, it's for you. I love that. And it's Anthony Bulling's last directing credit. Which is last credit.
00:57:21
Speaker
Yeah, it was he did the first three episodes. So it holds a very special place in my heart. He's he was an amazing director there. And then Danny Chambers took over for the rest. But I will always feel very grateful that I was a part of his last show. Well, congratulations that that's out now. That's so exciting. I'm gonna have to check it out because that sounds incredible. It is really good.
00:57:42
Speaker
That's awesome. I adore Anthony's directing. I didn't realize it was his last. I'm heartbroken by that because he's just such a strong director. That sucks. Nebula, what's your beach episodes though?
00:57:56
Speaker
Um, you know, I, Aaron said that and then my beach episode just like fell out of my brain. So, um, Parker, will you go first while I remember? This is why we write things down. We're a professional project. I know, I know, I know, I know. My beach episode is that at Isakai, my panels were so successful. Uh, Anime Smasher Pass filled the entire room.
00:58:18
Speaker
And I got to talk about weirdos on screen for an hour, and it was fun. And I got to run Family Feud on the main stage to big group, and I'm excited to run that same game for the Discord server for Fandames, because it's just fun. It's just fun to watch people throw stuff at a wall and see what sticks. But that went so well that a local con contacted me, and they're on the way of starting up. And they're like, hey, for our first year, do you want to come do main events?
00:58:44
Speaker
do a little bit of work. I would love to do that. I'm the best at that. Thanks for coming to watch my panel and agreeing that you think so. So that's been a little bit of a high that I've been writing is that people like seeing my programming. I'm a good programmer. I want to get into voice acting, but I get embarrassed reading lines. I don't feel comfortable being behind, but when I'm able to be on stage to some degree, I'm not an actor, but I am a panelist. I'm an emcee. I can do this part. If it's in the same line as doing my podcast, I can do it on stage like it's nothing easy.
00:59:14
Speaker
You got it. So that's my beach episode is just being able to be on stage and represent myself in a nice way and be able to have a good show and put on a good show. It's cool. I remembered mine. Yes. I can't say too much about it yet, but I can say a little bit in the same vein as fun new things.
00:59:33
Speaker
I might be doing some music this year with a friend of the podcast and might be singing publicly for the first time in my entire fucking life, so that's exciting, but also terrifying. I was going to be so mad. I was like, what do you mean secret? And then I remembered, you told me this the minute it happened.
00:59:51
Speaker
Oops. Well, I can tell you, but I can't tell everybody else yet, but I got some track lists and stuff back and we're starting to get it in motion. So it's exciting. And you have to credit me because I'm the one that got you into the source media that you are singing for. Okay. All right. You're sure. Well, Erin, thank you so much for being on this show. You are such a delight and we would absolutely love to have you back. We extend it to everyone that visits.
01:00:17
Speaker
And if there's anyone that you feel like would fit the vibe and love to talk about Shaoling's dumplings with us, please pass on our information because we would love to talk to any of your colleagues and we'll just have to have a little recap sometime in Dallas over dinner. Yeah, please. Sorry, I thought you were going to forget. I thought you were going to forget because sometimes you do. Would you like to plug your social media so we can tell people where to find you?
01:00:43
Speaker
Yeah, both Instagram and Twitter is at Aaron Campbell VO. Yeah, pretty easy.
01:00:56
Speaker
You can find me at Nebula underscore inky on Instagram and Twitter slash X, whatever the hell that platform is now. Parker, where can I find you? I'm Crown Guard Cosplay on Instagram and I'm littlelightb on Twitter. You can find the podcast at Fandame's Pod on Instagram and Twitter and patreon.com slash Fandame's Pod for the video version of this episode. Thank you.
01:01:18
Speaker
Well, thanks again, Aaron. Yeah. Yeah. Thanks for having me. I got to rush off to a session, but I'll see you all soon. Don't leave the video yet. End it, Nebula. Bye.
