Revisiting Old Segments

Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

Soda Rankings: Dr. Pepper's Popularity

00:00:44
Speaker
Yep. And we're going to start off with a segment we haven't done in a while. Fat Fox.
00:00:59
Speaker
This week,
00:01:09
Speaker
this week There was an announcement of the top sodas ranked in popularity in the United States. For a while, it was always Coke, Pepsi, Sprite. However, this year, breaking news, the second favorite Rose out of nowhere was Dr. Pepper tied with Pepsi for number two. Coke is always number one. It's America's pastime, America's favorite. Sprite's number three, but this is the very first time that Dr. Pepper has come into the top three and it's tied with number two, reason being
00:01:47
Speaker
that millennials love Dr. Pepper, or this new generation. Dr. Pepper, real good. Yeah, this new generation, this TikTok generation for some reason loves Dr. Pepper, like more than any any other soda. So it's it's taken taken by storm. At 8.34% of the soda market last year, um Pepsi had 8.31%, so very close margin together. um Overall, Coke is 19% of the soda marketed in the US by volume. That makes sense. So, yeah. Sprite is number three. I mean, I love Sprite, so that makes sense. One soda that's caffeine free. Yeah, I like Dr. Pepper, too. I like all three of those, actually. I don't like Pepsi. I can't drink Pepsi, but I like ah Sprite a lot. um But if you drink it too fast, it makes you hiccup. Dr. Pepper is a go-to, and Cherry Coke, for me, is my favorite soda.
00:02:39
Speaker
Cherry Coke is good. A fresh- Basically Dr. Pepper's the fucking retarded cousin of Cherry Coke, so. Yes, yes. Um, Mr. Pin, great too. Down south. Down south, yep. Isn't that their version

Sports Spotlight: Brady and Irving

00:02:54
Speaker
of Dr. Pepper? It is, yeah, it's ah it's a Coke's version of Dr. Pepper. Dr. Pepper is, I think it's A a and&W, whoever does A and&W yeah is and Crush and all that, they they do yeah do Dr. Pepper. um So we also are going to do a teach race sports this week.
00:03:12
Speaker
This is the theme to teach race sports We need a theme for teach race sports I couldn't think of anything that would be original I stole this instrumental from the Gary Shanley show This is the theme to teach race sports This is the theme to teach race sports First things first, I saw that Tom Brady went into the Patriots Hall of Fame. His number was retired. yeah I also saw that Jay-Z did the introduction to him coming to the arena. yep um yeah What are your thoughts on Tom Brady's career coming back? ah Pretty much saying that he's a Patriot for life after um after this. Here's the goat for now. We'll see what Patrick Mahomes does.
00:04:02
Speaker
that homes pretty far ahead of him in numbers but Tom Brady didn't become Tom Brady till he was 31 I want to say like before that he was just a game manager and relied on his defense a lot um he was just really good in the clutch in the playoffs um so obviously if my home stays healthy he may end up taking over him but I mean thing is like a lot of people say Brady couldn't run out of the pocket and make that throne. It's like, yeah, because Brady would make all his throws from in the pocket. He didn't have to worry about scrambling around and doing all sorts of other shit. um But yeah, he's the goat and I think it's even close anymore. The seventh championship with Tampa Bay solidified that. um Yeah, I mean, he's the greatest of all time. There's really not much else you could say about him. Nice.
00:04:44
Speaker
But the whole reason we're doing a teach race sports, we've been pushing this off, but we're out we're at and game four tonight, right, as we record. This is Friday night. Could be overnight. And we've been you've been wanting to tell me all about Kyrie Irving for a very, very long time. And I know he's involved. He's on the other team. Is it Mavericks? They're playing against the Celtics. That's all I know. yes And ive you've you've mentioned here and there that Kyrie does a lot of fuck shit. So I have no idea. He did a lot of fuck shit. in Boston hates him. All I know is Boston hates him and every time he touches the ball, they boo the fuck out of him. That's all I heard this week. So other than that, why does Boston hate him? I know this same i heard the same thing happens to others. Like when Shaq left the Magic,
00:05:28
Speaker
came back and played for the Magic the same thing happened where the fans in Orlando did the same exact thing for him in the 90s but there's other reasons why people hate Kyrie though Kyrie is just okay so we traded for Kyrie um the same offseason that we signed um Howard. And we had just drafted Jalen Brown and Jason Tatum also. So that was like our future and our present all at the same time. How long ago was that? And basically what happened, that was 2000, I think Jalen was drafted in 2016. So this would have been 2017 after we drafted Tatum.
00:06:02
Speaker
calm six years ago. We got those high draft picks that ended up becoming Tatum and Brown due to trade with the Nets back in around 2012, 2013 for future draft picks. We traded them Paul Pierce and Kevin Gardin. So anyways, so we had a good team and we ended up with really high draft picks because the Nets at that point sucked. um End up with these two guys who are now kind of the face of the league, which is fucking awesome. But anyways, I digress. Kyrie Irving. So we trade for this guy. who was basically the compensation for LeBron leaving Cleveland, where Cleveland didn't have very high percentage to get the number one pick. Kyrie was coming out. The league basically gifted them the pick. um And he led them to a championship with LeBron when LeBron came back. ah Fast forward a few years later, he didn't want to play with LeBron. He wanted his own team. So it kind of was the perfect situation. Coming here, we got these two young kids. This is your team, 100% your team. We signed a couple free agents.
00:07:00
Speaker
um Everything's going good. Kyrie does this huge speech about midway through his first year here, um talking about how he was honored to be a member of the Boston Celtics. His father went to but BC um College, war number 11. So Kyrie wore number 11 when he played for Boston. He still wears that to this day. um And if you know if you guys want me back, I'd love to be back, blah, blah, blah. He gets hurt, a rookie Jason Tatum and Jaylen Brown,
00:07:31
Speaker
go to game seven against the Cleveland Cavaliers LeBron James team without their best player. So we're like, all right, next year Kyrie is going to come back. He's going to be healthy. Everything's going to go good. Everything's going to be great. It's going to be awesome. We're going to win a championship. Well, Kyrie comes back the next year and is a little, he always thinks he's smarter than he is. Like he attended Duke for like one year. um So he probably didn't even attend classes to be honest, cause he knew he was going straight to the NBA as basically the number one pick after his freshman year in college. So an example of this was Brad Stevens was going over film and going over plays during a practice once. And he asked the team, do you have any questions?
00:08:15
Speaker
And Kyrie's responded with, what does government mean to you? That's just weird. Um, odd thing to ask Brad Stevens, also known as a really intelligent guy. I think he was 34 when he became the coach here. Um, really intelligent, really young guy. A lot of people in the building were like kind of flabbergasted with the way Kyrie acted that entire year. Um, him getting injured again. And then him not re resigning with us when we offered him the max and it was like, okay, whatever he wanted to leave. He didn't want to be here. It is what it is. And then he comes back with the nets. And what's he do with the nets? First off, he talked about how he's going to extinguish the racist demons in Boston. So he walks around and does like.
00:09:06
Speaker
And he has incense, you know, like church incense, then the like the metal canister. Really? He's walking around the garden, expelling the racist demons with the church incense. Wow. OK. Before the first game with the Nets. um So he does that. And then he does the unthinkable to most Boston fans. He walks to mid court and he stomps on Lucky. Lucky is the mascot of the Celtics like right in the middle floor. Yeah, everyone knows the logo stomps on Lucky. That's when things really went off the rails as far as fans were basically just like, fuck this guy. OK, so he does that. He is not beating Boston since stopping unlucky. He is 0 and 13 against us since doing that. um During Covid, he was still with the Nets.
00:09:56
Speaker
This was when he was trying to force his way out of Brooklyn after a year and a half because that situation wasn't right, even though he picked it. He he and Kevin Durant went to the nets together, hand picked their coach, got their coach fired after the first season, got half the team fucking traded after the first season. And it was all guys they had brought in to be with them. So anyways, COVID happens and New York has very strict rules and he refuses to get the vaccination. Because he's anti-vax now all of a sudden. Right. but Also, when he was doing the whole incense thing, he said it was like, okay, because he was like, one 100th Native American or something like that.
00:10:38
Speaker
So anyway, refuses to get the vaccine during COVID. So he basically doesn't play a single home game for the Nets that entire year and forces his way off the Nets and onto the team he's on now, the Dallas Mavericks. um He got into a lot of fights when he was in Boston with like the younger players, um especially Tatum, um because Tatum was kind of our future and everyone knew it. um But yeah, just oddball behavior throughout his entire career. And the hatred didn't really come when he was with Boston or that he left Boston. It was all the shit he was saying about Boston after he left. um Expelling the racist demons, stomping on Lucky. Just being a weirdo to the media the entire time he was here also kind of didn't really go over well. um He just came across as somebody who wasn't right in the head. This is all around the time, too, where he was on the nuts. He talked about how the earth was flat.
00:11:29
Speaker
um So he's one of those guys. I remember that. I remember that. Yeah. That hit the news for me. Yep. Okay. So just a whole lot of weirdo behavior, but it was really like the stopping unlucky and the incense that really just was like, everyone was like, fuck this guy. Cause we're going to boo the opposing like star anyways, but with Kyrie it's just magnified now because of everything that happened with Boston. Um, so yeah, I mean, fuck that guy. I hope we fucking destroy him tonight. He has matured a lot since he got there once, you know, it's funny how he matured at the age of like 32 or whatever he is now, but he is a little bit more mature now. Um, but yeah, he just, a lot of weird oddball behavior that had people in the media flabbergasted and like that report came out about the whole, what does government mean to you? Um,
00:12:16
Speaker
Yeah, so that's Kyrie in a nutshell. um I hope we fucking destroy them tonight. too Like fucking bury them. This is because this is this is a game, they've won three. Game four, they can win this and win everything. And I mean, that team is just a bunch of whiny bitches. Like I liked Luca going into the series, but they were down by 21 going into the fourth quarter of game three, the maps. And they came back and it was a two point game. And instead of running back and playing defense, I actually think it's on my story right now on Facebook. If you want to look at the photo afterwards, they put it up around midnight last night. um Luca is complaining to the refs while we're pushing the ball down the floor. And he's not getting back on defense. Celtic score go up by four instead of two with like 30 seconds left. And that was basically the end of the game.
00:13:07
Speaker
um And Kyrie has not done well this series. He didn't know he had an OK Game 3, but first two games in Boston he was horrible. um So yeah, go Celtics. Hopefully it ends tonight. Mark Cuban still own the Mavericks? That was my question. And he's one of the reasons why I know i always liked the Mavericks too. like Plus the Mavericks beat LeBron his first year with the Heat. um because I do like Mark Cuban as an owner because he's basically like having a fan as an owner.

Gaming News and E3 Cancellation

00:13:34
Speaker
Wick Roesbeck is also very much um he's the owner of the Celtics and he's very much like having a great like fan as an owner like he's in the front row every game um cheering on the team giving high five show like that same thing is as Cuban does a lot of owners stay in the owner's box and entertain people up there but these two guys are like fans first
00:13:53
Speaker
Um, plus Rick does a lot of stuff for the community. Like he owns a school for the blind, his son's blind. So like the school for the blind, and he makes it pretty easy to get in for very little money if your family can't afford it. Um, so I love with respect. He's a very nice guy too. I met him a few times when I worked for the Celtics. Awesome. Well, next on the docket. I had to dust this theme song off. I don't like it, but it's the only theme song I have because we have some tech to talk about.
00:14:41
Speaker
Calling Steve Jobs. It's time for Tech Talk. Calling Tim Cook. It's time for Tech Talk. Calling Bill Gates. It's time for Tech Talk. Calling Elon Musk. It's time for Tech Talk. Thank you very much. It's time for Tech Talk. Talking about all new technology. Help to change the world. Please take our money. Losing all our jobs. To robot. Overlord. Tech Talk.
00:15:16
Speaker
Not my greatest moment. Not my greatest moment at all. ah First off, I want to talk about E3. Supposed to be happening right about now. Canceled forever. Gone. So Xbox, Nintendo, PlayStation, all had their own showcases. This week it was Xbox. Announced a whole bunch of new games. Few new systems. We're going to go over that before we get into all the Apple news of the week. um Xbox games of note, Fable being remade for the new next generation consoles. I know you were a huge fan of Fable back in the day on... was it Xbox? back Only the very first Fable I played a little bit of. yeah um Yeah, I don't know anything about it. I never had that. The other game that I know you were a big fan of was Perfect Dark, which is also being rebooted.
00:16:08
Speaker
That's gonna be rebooted into the next generation as well um yeah Other than that, I'm not sure about any other of these games. I don't know what's exclusive to Xbox anymore and what's not um I know like Assassin's Creed goes to both. I know
00:16:24
Speaker
I know there's a Fallout game. I know Metal Gear Solid I think is both too. I'm not really sure what is what what is one anymore. I know World of Warcraft I think is exclusive to Xbox now. I think they own... It is Xbox and PC. They also own Call of Duty now, but they're not making it exclusive to Xbox. Yeah, I heard that too. Just because the player base is so fucking large, you can't do that. Honestly, like I was talking about this with my buddy Xander. We were talking about how it's just stupid to have exclusives now anyways. If you want to, I think we both talked about how it should be exclusive for like a year.
00:16:57
Speaker
To help sell some systems like spider-man exclusive PlayStation for like a year and then go to Xbox Even if just on their live service or whatever um That would just make the most sense because you're cutting out so many potential buyers of the game um I know you want to push your systems too But at the end of the day people are gonna either get whatever system they want is usually not because it was exclusive based I feel like Sony would win 9 10 drive 10 because they're exclusives are so much better. Um So I think they should just end up plus everything's cross play now anyways, so it's like you might as well just let everything be on every system and it has been for like the what the last 15 years because you talk about 90s and early 2000s Yeah, like all the wrestling games were separate that you had the raw versus smackdown on the PlayStation Then you had yep, the raw season on the nintendo and that's yeah Yeah, it was all all weird and now everything's kind of uniform, which is good. Well, he's a cross cross cross cross platform
00:17:53
Speaker
yeah The other the other thing Xbox, of course, they have the Series X the Series S. Series X is their all digital version. Those are the one terabyte hard drive and The Series X had at one point just the disk drive. It was a big it was a big square like rectangle square Box with the disk drive while they're coming up with an all digital version of that so it's gonna be a square and rectangle the same way and However, it's going to be all digital, no disc drive.

Apple's Tech Innovations

00:18:24
Speaker
I'm not sure what the prices are going to be coming out this holiday season. I haven't had an Xbox since the 360. I know you bought a, you bought or got a Xbox One. Yeah, my cousin Gary to me, the last gen one, which is great because I had all my 360 games, but my 360s, yeah, it's great for them. And you put the original Xbox on there. That's awesome. Xbox has done that from the very beginning. They go back to compatibility all the way back to the original Xbox, which is really cool. The only time PlayStation did that was the very first PlayStation 3. It had backwards compatibility. Yep, which had a lot of problems because it overheated and it burned the solder on the memory board. Same with the 360, too. 360 had the Red Ring of Death, which we both, I think, had to deal with at one point. Yeah, I had 360s.
00:19:12
Speaker
Yeah, I had two. I had the R2D2 one was the last one I got. So that brings us to the Worldwide Developer Conference, which started this Monday. It was apples Apple's thing that they do every year where they announce the new software for every one of their OS systems. This year rumors were the AI was going to take over and sure as hell did. Couple of things I wanted to mention, when you get when you upgrade your iOS in the fall, you're gonna be seeing a new Siri animation, the whole entire screen from edge to edge of the bezel is going to be lit up every time you ask Siri a question. um The other thing, when you're in the control center, when you swipe down on the right and you and you can get quick access to your wifi, to your volume, to your to your focus settings,
00:19:59
Speaker
All of that is going to be customizable, not only in size, but you can also customize which apps, which buttons you want to put on there. um like i look for mine For example, I have Shazam on there, I have the Apple TV remote, um I have the volume, I have all the normal stuff that people have on there, but they're going to be adding even more in third party too. You had a Facebook app, you could put it on there that you want to do a Facebook post or something. The Apple TV app works ah really well. I was surprised because I lost my remote. It was um like in between cushions and I couldn't find it for like three days. And I was just using that and it actually works very fucking smooth. That was very good. Very good.
00:20:35
Speaker
um And I love the new Apple TV generation remote with a wheel great. Yep um The one before it was pretty good to the touchscreen the one before that the silver remote was not that good But they they've upgraded it so much so well in the last few years. It's been great um also the home screen Going to be completely customizable, also dark mode for the dark mode for the icons. The apps can be placed anywhere, so you don't have to just have it on the top running down. You can have app apps on the bottom, apps in the middle, or apps on the top in any version any way you want, apps on the left, apps on the right. You can have them anywhere, kind of just like a desktop you have on a computer, any placement anywhere. Which is should have happened a long time ago. Apple is slow to shit, it just takes a while.
00:21:20
Speaker
um I message a whole bunch of shit happening in your messages. You'll be able to do bold underline Italian italics Wouldn't your tap backing when you do like when you're laughing at somebody's text when you're loving somebody's text You can now do emojis which you can do on on Facebook. You can do in a lot of other apps But they're gonna be able to do it in iMessage now So it opens up to a lot more things if you see something funny or you see something gross you can do a gross face We'll get to that more so you can also I message will also work with androids now, right? Yep. That's the next thing. Um, okay That well, the first thing is you can test that you'll be able to send text through satellite. They started doing that with cell phones Calls last year satellite calls now there and they moved it into text messaging for emergency purposes and
00:22:10
Speaker
um it's No pricing on that. However, I know it was free for calling for three years, so I'm not sure what that's going to happen. What you said, though, RCS messaging coming to iOS 18. This is going to be pretty much everything that we do on iMessage is going to be viewable on Android phone and vice versa, because they already have this RCS messaging. Really, it fucks up a group text, a group chat if one person's on the Android, because sometimes they don't get the messages. yeah Not only that but you'll be able to see indicators that somebody's typing read receipts and a whole bunch more bubble chats will be there um You'll see higher resolution images video attachments speak it be faster coming back and forth to each other So it's good. It's good for for Android and and Apple users who text each other. We have a bunch of friends that do that. So in iOS 18 is going to be able to record record and transcribe your phone calls and
00:23:05
Speaker
kind of invasive into people's to people that you're talking to however they do get a notification on their phone that their call will be monitored and get is recorded and they can either accept it or not which is a good security measure um but if you're if you were let's say you're making a phone call to a To its customer service rep and you wanted some information and you don't want to forget it You can record that now and you can go back and listen to it. Um, that's just one thing The other thing is they're gonna be able to tap to cash and I don't know if you use the tap to cash
00:23:36
Speaker
in the store with your Apple Pay. I haven't much now. I haven't much either, but it's so smooth and easy. The times I have done it, it's very easy, very smooth. But you're gonna be able to do it from phone to phone with Apple Pay, Apple Cash. If I wanted to give you $10 and I just saw you, I would just put my phone over your phone and it would automatically send it. I don't know if it costs anything to do that. I don't know anything about that. I know it's like Venmo costs something. Everything pretty much, except for Facebook, costs money. So I don't know what the cost of that is. yeah I wasn't sure what it was but um and the other thing is iOS 18 lets you lock and hide your apps if you want to be seeky secret and creepy against your spouse or whoever you're with you can hide your apps for added privacy and you can you can find them in a hidden folder you can you can find a way to unlocking them later nice um if you're into sneaking around. Going to Apple TV
00:24:33
Speaker
Stuff that was already on Amazon private Prime is this thing called Insight. While you're watching a show, if you put you hit your button on your remote, like the wheel, and you'll see all the information of what's going on at the screen at the time, including the song that's playing, the people that are on the screen, the actors. um There's gonna be more information on the on the movie or TV show that you're watching as well. um have New screen savers. Apple TV, is if you don't have an Apple TV, it's pretty good for for watching stuff. I do like it. We've had we've had it for years. um
00:25:06
Speaker
Also, on the iMac, on the Mac OS, you can have your full iPhone screen mirrored on your Macintosh computer. um You used to only be able to do that when youre when you were coding, when you were trying to make apps for your phone, but now you can just do it through through just just swinging your swinging your phone to your computer to your computer, which is kind of cool. um Also opens up all the app options you can do on your computer that you weren't able to do before and you can you can make calls It's the continuity that you can do between your phone and your computer has been great and this is getting better and better um for Apple the iPad They're adding a calculator after 10 years of having iPads. I can't believe there was never a calculator on the iPad until now I'm adding a whole huge screen out ah calculator for the very first time
00:25:56
Speaker
So with all that said, that gets us into Apple Intelligence. They are not calling it AI. In fact, this is their version of AI. It's crazy. We've talked about AI and what it can do for computers. It can pretty much learn what you do, everything everything you click on, everything you do. That's what their AI has been taught to do. And that's what Apple's eye AI. Apple Intelligence has been taught to do as well. We start off with Genmoji. It's an AI-powered emoji generator.
00:26:26
Speaker
that you can actually tell this prompt, what you want this emoji to look like, and it will it will prompt into an emoji of that item. So if you wanna do a wizard smoking, well, they won't smoke probably because it's it's not kid friendly, but if you wanna eat a ah wizard eating an apple, it'll do that. If you wanna do a ah space alien wearing a sibrero, you can do that. You just tell it what you want it you what you want for an emoji, it'll automatically come up in the prompt. So that's kinda cool. um The other thing, image playground, you can do that with images as well. You tell, I i kind of did that a little bit. um You tell a prompt what you want. ChatGPT does this. um You tell an image, oh you tell the prompt what you want for an image and it'll automatically do that and you can send it send it to people.
00:27:14
Speaker
um
00:27:17
Speaker
I can't really give an example what what you could do, but you can tell it like just tell just tell it what you want. It'll give you ah an AI-generated image. Could be cool, it could be weird. you do I think in one time I said Mario skiing down a slope eating a burrito or something. It's something weird and it'll automatically do something like that. um
00:27:38

Also, let me go further to um You can access chat GPT directly with iOS now Siri is completely involved with chat to GPT um It's gonna it's gonna know a lot more when you're asking its question. It's also gonna be more It's gonna be more commutative like if you're if you're talking to Siri and you're like, hey so hey What is the weather? Oh wait, never mind. I don't need to know that I need to know this it'll automatically know what you're talking about and It'll fix it it'll fix the algorithm that you're talking in the prompt that you're giving it to it There's getting smarter and smarter as time goes on
00:28:14
Speaker
All of this done on your phone, I guess for for some reason, some way, they don't keep it in their own system, it's all on your device. um So a little bit of privacy there. um It's hard to believe that that's the truth, but that's what Apple says, so I'll take it for their word. um The other thing is writing tools when you're writing a note when you're writing a letter um You can proofread it. You can rewrite it. You can make it sound more friendly more professional more concise and
00:28:45
Speaker
um You can make a summary. You can make a key point of it. You can do all of this stuff. The AI will automatically proofread and do all this stuff for you. um So yeah, the writing tools on this is going to be incredible for editing. If we had this when we were doing homework when we were kids, we would have been... I know, right? Yeah. um and The other big thing that they're doing is something that Photoshop has done for a while, but we would be able to do it right in the photo app. is a clean up photos. You can go in there, click on a photo and and click on what you want to clean up. If there's somebody in the background of a nice family photo that you have, you click on that person, you circle them and it'll automatically delete them delete them from the picture and clean up the whole entire background and add the background to it. Very cool Photoshop-esque like technology added right into the photos app for free.
00:29:34
Speaker
um also like whole and entire All of this stuff, a lot of people have their ideas of it. I know we joke about it being kind of like the beginning of Terminator and Skynet. Elon Musk kind of on that same thing where he said if anybody shows up at his offices, the ex offices, um Tesla anywhere with this new iOS 18, it'll be a security violation and they will have their phones confiscated at the door, put it into bags, and they'll get them when they leave. um So this kind of, i i like this I like this type of AI stuff.
00:30:11
Speaker
It's the AI creativity stuff that kind of creeps me out. Depends on what the creativity is. if it's If it's creating somebody who's dead and doing new music, that kind of creeps me out. But this stuff has potential to be good as long as there's limits of what it can do.

TV and Documentary Highlights

00:30:26
Speaker
um Because we don't want to see Skynet. We don't want that shit. However, The technology is cool, and it has a long ways to go, so it's kind of just the beginning. Facebook's doing it. Of course, Macintosh is doing it now, at and Windows has been doing it, and we talked about it a month ago, so. Very cool technology, just right in the infancy of it. We'll talk about it later on in the years to come. um What we watched this week? Well, still watching Dexter.
00:30:58
Speaker
Dexter watched 2024. Um, I have made it halfway through season. What am I, season three right now? okay cool um so i haven't watched the end of it i know this is the one with um jimmy smith's who comes in yep um plays dexter's friend i don't know what happens so yeah we'll talk about the ending it's um i just watched the season because i knew you were on this season it's uh it's a good one but it's kind of like one and two are very very good this one's kind of a dip but i still i mean it has him in it so it's fucking awesome and then of course you get to season four um
00:31:32
Speaker
But yeah, it's a good season. um I just wanted to talk to you about the difference between the books and the show. Yeah, that's what you wanted to bring up to me this week. Yes. yeah um Basically with the show, followed the first book was for a season, like the entire thing was like the same exact fucking thing. um Then after that, every book is every book is different and none of the other books get adapted into the show. well Oddly enough, he wasn't done with the series when the show wrapped. The finale did not go over well. People did not like the finale of Dexter. And the guy that wrote the books, I don't know if you told them what would happen to the end of the books or not, like George RR Martin, but like the last book came out like four years after the season ended, gave essentially the same exact ending as the show had. um So I'm going to do that just to make it like even or whatever. but i'm right
00:32:22
Speaker
Yeah and like what you'll see is like like in the books like a big thing that he does is like he teaches like his code to the kids, Aster and Cody. um He doesn't do that in the show obviously because they weren't going to have that. um But yeah that's something you'll kind of see like throughout the course of the show is him taking some people kind of under his wing. um So you'll see some of that like this season. Yeah, this is a good season and I look forward to you. I mean, obviously you didn't have as much time because of the next topic that we're going to discuss. Yes. That's why I forgot because the boys came out yesterday.
00:33:00
Speaker
three episodes and I forgot completely forgot that I forgot to watch Jen's Gen V completely forgot I was on three episodes so I had another five left so I watched that when I planned on finishing Dexter yesterday I had to watch Gen V yesterday instead yes so I had to skip Dexter until next week we'll talk about season with the rest of season three next week but yes we will talk about season one of Gen V now because it does run into the boys season four which we'll talk about after Um, Tech Night. Fucks every hole. It's hilarious. I couldn't stop laughing cause every, every cutscene at the very end he's fucking in one of those, um, those hand heaters in the bathroom when you're trying to, the hand dryers.
00:33:45
Speaker
Forgot about that scene. very It's like the that's like the after credit scene of that episode. It's great. Yep, um Emma One of the greatest characters in this whole boys universe. I think she's great um Kind of choose the yeah three a one right? Yes kinda takes the yeah and character and Ant-Man character and just makes it better. She just does and she's a great actress I i love her and I can't wait to see where she goes in season two. Yeah, and she's already been giant giant girl So that's kind of cool ah very funny in the show the the stuff that she did and like I kind of love her back and forth with With what's his name Sam?
00:34:22
Speaker
I thought he was great. That brings me to Sam. Sam and his puppet delusions in times of emotional stress. I thought that was kind of awesome. Especially when he is when he destroys and kills all the puppets. I thought that was great. um And the same thing happens when he has sex, the puppet. It's just fucking great. um Jason Ritter, cameo-ed in this, so did Soldier Boy. Grace Victoria Newman. um Marie's connection. You find out that she's connected to Marie, the lead of this show. They both have the same power. um Homelander cameos at the end um and there's that plane crash that happened in the first season. um There's a twist to that and it all had to do with the reason that the woman in this show, the bad woman, was going after the Supes and wanted to kill them all with this virus um was because her family was on that plane crash that Homelander destroyed and all the evidence was hidden for the American public. I thought there was a very cool connection
00:35:21
Speaker
On the very end, after credits, you see Butcher hunting down the super virus, which leads into the boys' season four. and We'll get into that in a minute. However, the big thing about this is, of course, Chance Per Domo, who played Andre, passed away a few months ago. So he will not be coming back for season two, obviously, and they're not going to be casting that character either. correct im recasting it so I don't know he's he is alive he's in a prison cell at the end of the show at the end of the season so I don't know what they're gonna continue with this character with this storyline where what's gonna happen to his character whether he's gonna pass away in the show or what what have you I don't know I don't even know if this is connected to any of the comic books I don't know anything it's not it's don't think it's all original okay so yeah I think I think the university is in the comics but they don't really like people come up from the university but they don't let go to the university type deal
00:36:12
Speaker
Yeah, yeah. So yeah, that's kind of the question we have going into season two, which I know is gonna be filming sometime this summer or fall. I can't, I've read it somewhere. I don't remember where it's gonna start, but soon. So that brings us into the boys premiered yesterday season four one two three episodes um New at new addition to the cast Jeffrey Dean Morgan kind of playing a character who's watching over butcher Butcher is sick. He's dying has months to live. He has he's something going on with him
00:36:46
Speaker
There's a scene, a great scene, where Homelander makes the Deep suck A-Train's dick.
00:36:56
Speaker
And he almost does it. He almost does it. And the deep says the the deep says to A-Train, sex is just a spectrum, bro. And I just couldn't stop laughing after I heard that. ah um How about, what's his name? Talking in the season. That's awesome. yeah Black Noir. And he's fucking hilarious every time he opens his mouth. Yeah, we don't know who's playing that character yet, but ah probably the mask will come off because he's he talking now. um They keep telling him to shut up. You're not supposed to talk. um Another addition to the cast is Sister Sage. Supposedly the smartest person in the world. um She is becoming the number two to Homelander. Homelander wanted somebody smart to talk to and everybody else around him. And suddenly that wouldn't be a yes man ye somebody that actually have ideas. yeah yeah
00:37:45
Speaker
So we'll see where that goes. Episode 2, we had a Will Ferrell cameo where they were making a train movie. um And the sauna scene. Yes, the human said to me you warned me about this yesterday and Rob Benedict who was in waiting was the character that was in the sauna um The whole entire that whole entire like 10 minutes 15 minutes scene with him And then of course the end when all of the because he's he's one of the characters named splinter and he can splinter off into different versions of himself kind of just like multiply mold like multiple man
00:38:22
Speaker
Yeah, and he keeps doing that and there's one alpha version that that spoiler at the end ends up dying So they're all they all end up dying at the end is very cool um Yeah, that was pretty cool except the sauna scene was weird and in he had pink eye and that's a whole other story um Episode three Vought on ice the holiday special um There is a musical on ice put the Christ back in Christmas. I laughed at that there was a scene where Huey was up in the up in the up in the air ducts and and a piece of sweat falls off him onto Homelander. Homelander finds out it was Huey because he can smell and and realize his scent and chases him around the arena. That was pretty scary. Um, cause he thought he was going to chase him. He's catch him. Very cool. Eye-lazering the fucking ceiling. And then he eye-lazers the woman skating down below at the ice rink. It was awesome. Um, and A-Train at the end of the episode allies with the boys. And that's kind of where we leave off going into the rest of the series.
00:39:25
Speaker
Um, usually eight episodes, I believe maybe six. I can't remember what they usually do for the boys. So another five weeks that this is kind of cool that they released three. Um, didn't have a lot of the most. Yeah. Yeah. That's my favorite sauce model. We'll be talking about that going forward for the next few weeks. Um, I don't know if you had a chance to watch this documentary or not, but how amazing got free. I want to see it though. Very good talks about all about Napster talks all about um of course M&M's relation to that with the M&M show that was the big the big thing where where Napster and all the LimeWire all that stuff took that album and made it release like a month early because of it.
00:40:04
Speaker
Right and of course they put a deep they put a DVD with it and lyric notes in the album cover All because of that and for like the first two million copies of the CD So it made people want to go out and buy the CD even if they already downloaded it for free And that was kind of the catalyst for Interscope especially to do something about it And of course ever after this it kind of it shows where this all came from like when we were downloading this shit illegally Where all these releases putting viruses on the computer right but where where where did these come from it came from a CD factory and in North Carolina of all places and some guy was working there and Started talking his computer computer savory savvy and he talked started talking to a computer group that was doing all these releases saying hey I can get you this stuff
00:40:53
Speaker
a month, two months ahead of time, you can release it early and leak them out. And a lot of them weren't getting money or getting paid or anything, they were just doing it for like a collection of music. They weren't getting anything out of it. So it's just kind of the the glory of getting releasing shit, I guess, and having a huge collection of unreleased music. so Yeah, very cool. um I I I do as I do suggest watching that it's on Paramount Plus um The acolyte episode 3
00:41:26
Speaker
A lot of controversy to this for a lot of people. However, I actually love this episode. This is my favorite one of the show. I mean, the show in general, I'll get this out of the way. um Outside of Soul, I really don't care about any of the characters too much. yeah right It's not very well written, but I think because of how much people are shitting on it when I turn it on, I'm like, that wasn't that bad. Like so I think I think everyone's shitting on it makes me like it more if that makes sense and watch it on before they even see it. This episode made perfect sense for one reason yeah and one reason only. The Jedi is a religion. Okay. Yep. You're in a you're in a whole universe. You're going to have multiple religions.
00:42:06
Speaker
And having this witch's coven using the force in a different way is very unique and very cool. They use it more like a thread, more like a thread of life. um They also, spoiler alert, um the twins are born with the same virgin birth as Anakin was. They've already mastered that, and that's something that but Darth Plagueis eventually will use, eventually, hopefully, if that's where this is going, to birth Anakin, or teach Sidious how to birth Anakin later. Well, I think the point is that the Force created Anakin because
00:42:43
Speaker
He was trying to do that. So the force birthed Anakin technically um But we don't know if the if the force was used here They still haven't explained that and a lot of people think it takes away from Anakin's Birth as a chosen one, which I just don't see that at all. I don't see that all either Plus like if they could do this at will there would be more than just the twins like it's almost like they'd locked into it um You know, when a lot of people have issues with the fact that, oh, the Jedi would never go around stealing people's children. It's like, that's what the Jedi did. That's what they did to Anakin. How do you think all these little kids ended up training as Jedis? Like, yeah that's what they did. um And we also got to see why she had so much pain and sorrow, which you're not supposed to get a child to become a Jedi if they have that much anger in them when they're young, because that usually turns them to the dark side.
00:43:32
Speaker
um Yeah, I enjoyed this episode way more than I thought I would. And Soul is just awesome. Plus, it was nice to see Carrie and Moss have more screen time. Yeah, ma she was killed off early in the first episode. but um Yeah, the witch's coven I thought was great um kind of connection to All the outside stuff that's already happened. They've had some witches show up and in prior yeah stuff So yeah, it's kind of cool to see that Um, did you ever want have a chance to watch episode two of who killed wcw? Of course it is on youtube too. Oh good. Okay i did buy isn I bought the season pass for $6.99. I was gonna it's only like six bucks or whatever. Yeah, so but it's on youtube So I said fuck it. I'm not gonna buy it um I might buy it at some point because it is worth watching if they take it off YouTube but holy shit was this a fun episode it was great Brett Hart shitting on Goldberg felt like 10 minutes straight yeah for the end of this episode was all Brett Hart talking about Goldberg it was great and the whole episode was about Bill Goldberg because that's kind of where
00:44:29
Speaker
WCW took off. He's such a douchebag. He is, and that's kind of where it took off. He comes across so bad, man. He does. Every interview I've ever heard with him, he does, and he's just not a great person. You can tell why he had such a bad time behind the scenes with wrestlers and not taking orders and not understanding the business. It's because he was arrogant, and you definitely get it every time he talks. I remember Chris Jericho beat the shit out of him at 1.2. Chris Jericho legitimately choked him out in the locker room. William Regal did too. um yeah Made him actually look bad in the ring. But Bill Goldberg was huge in 97, 98, especially the first very first match I watched, I always say it, Hogan versus Goldberg. I don't know how I found out about it. It hadn't been in a news news newspaper or radio or something that I saw.
00:45:19
Speaker
don't think so because I was up in Bangor by myself. yeah that happened in The summer you're right was yeah it wass july beginning of July and and I don't know what enticed me to watch that night because I had never watched wrestling before that. Never turned on Raw before that. Never turned on Nitro. I just watched it for the very first time that night. Ended up being their biggest night ever when Goldberg won the title from Hulk Hogan. And it was huge. And he had this streak that was at the end 163 and 0. And then they just lost it after that. They gave Kevin Nash the reins to run the stuff behind the scenes and do the storylines. The storylines just went tanked.

Entertainment Industry Updates

00:46:01
Speaker
This talk's all about Eric being fired at the end, making way for the next episode, which Vince Russo comes in. It's all episode 3 is about Vince Russo. He's actually going to interview... I cannot wait for Tuesday night.
00:46:12
Speaker
i Can't wait for it either and that episode for us all about the final nitro and they have a lot of behind-the-scenes footage of that too So the next two episodes are gonna be awesome so I can't wait that is on vice. However, like it like we mentioned. It's on iTunes. It's on YouTube You said so um you'll be able to watch that um Did you have a chance to watch hitman on Netflix yet? No, can we talk about this next week? I'm gonna watch it this weekend. Yep. I will say it was good That's all I'm gonna say Glenn Powell um Great in that it's based off a true story as well. They'll tell you that right in the beginning um With a little bit of exaggeration like most true story movies are and that's all I'm gonna say about it We'll talk about it next week though. Awesome. Um, but that being said let's get into the news And it's not a new sound without the trail around it
00:47:00
Speaker
A few trailers to talk about. Twilight of the Gods. This is Zack Snyder's next movie coming out on Netflix or TV show. yeah I can't couldn't remember what it was. Animated version of the Norse gods. i' Bloody, gory, R-rated. It looks like some sex involved in there too. um yeah Just a retelling of the Norse mythology. That's all that's all I can get out of it. so We'll probably end up watching that um Another thing coming out in a few weeks sausage party a TV show coming out on Amazon Prime. I believe everything else. This part be charged a sausage party fruit
00:47:35
Speaker
Foodtopia, wow, that's a lot to say. um Yeah, it's gonna be a TV show. Seth Brogan coming back, Kristen Wiig, Michael Cera, Edward e Norton, um Will Forte, Sam Richardson. um Huge cast just like the movie was. um Eight episodes coming out on at Prime, I believe. If you like that movie, it was okay. Kind of an R rated raunchy. It was one of those movies that you kind of have to get stoned to enjoy fully. Yeah, and it was okay. and Seth Rogen's funny. The animation was cheap when he did it. That's the whole reason he found a cheap way of doing it. There's usually a movie like this costs hundreds of millions of dollars, but yeah it it wasn't too bad, so he ended up doing it. He just did the TV show. That's kinda cool. But, came out yesterday, Watchmen. The animated movie. This looks awesome.
00:48:22
Speaker
ah she Coming out in two chapters looks great the animation style reminds me a lot of kind of like what if with the shadows Yep, that's exactly what they're comparing it to. Yeah, very it looks very good um right out of the comics you You've got a certain fan base going over there the troll looks just like Zach's movie It's like have you read the comic it looks like have you read the comic though? Like they're all like pissed off that what's his name is? is like the lead guy doing the narration and I'm like, have you read the comic? Like Zach did not invent the fucking watchman. yeah yeah yeah Yeah. The characters all look great. I can't wait for that to come out. Let's get in let's get into the news. ah Yes.
00:49:04
Speaker
Bad Boys 4, which you saw last week, made a huge huge victory in the box office. It was $56 million dollars in the US, $104 million dollars globally. um This is ah Will Smith's return to box office dominant. After he slapped after he slapped ah Chris Rock um people saying this is a comeback I think people just love that franchise Martin with him and Martin Lawrence is a it's a great combination Number two wasn't even close Garfield had 10 million the if movie had 8 million so they it did it did gangbusters also speaking of top of the boards and
00:49:43
Speaker
Eminem is back with a number two song with Houdini on the Billboard Hot 100 last week. um Rumors of the album's coming out in a couple weeks, beginning of July. We'll have to wait and see how that album is. The Death of Slim Shady. I do like Eminem. I like a lot of his new stuff, a lot more than you do. and It depends on what it is, I guess. Some of it is weird. Like we talked about, his rhyme. The rhyming is like he's trying to catch up with Drake and Lil Wayne with weird corny punch lines. yeah Uh, Rebel Moon, the director's cut, officially announced coming out on August 2nd. Um, the names of these. Uh, Chalice of Blood, Chapter 2, um, was previously called The Star Giver. Or was reple- uh, sorry. Uh, Child of Fire will now be called Chalice of Blood. Um, in Chapter 2, uh, previously called The Star Giver is gonna be called Curse of Forgiveness. I don't know why he changed the names of these. It's just confusing. So it gives him two more movies?
00:50:42
Speaker
But these are going to be R-rated versions. There's going to be sex, blood, um longer, of course, probably slower, with a lot more slow-mo. I'll let you know how they are. Yeah, you're going to be watching these before I even attempt to hit Plex. I'll probably acquire them and have you throw them on the Plex, because I can't imagine watching a three-hour Zack Snyder film with Netflix commercials. I just got the i got the cheaper version of Netflix. um I just can't see myself. Doing that, um making the 3R movie like 4 hours at least if you do it with the ads. so Yeah, fuck that. Fuck all that. Nope. All done. There is a theft of Legos. There's a Lego theft ring. Somebody was stealing these Legos from homes and stores.
00:51:27
Speaker
and they were selling them full price a lot of them were priced from a hundred dollars to a thousand dollars per set making a ton of money lego is one of these commodity toys that are just ridiculously priced we talked about it before i think and how if you were a kid growing up and you had legos you were lucky if you had the expensive legos you were really lucky yeah if you had any of the actual sets like it'd be like twenty dollars for like this little ass like Car human and like it's just ridiculous like you have to pay like $300 for any of the decent sets Yeah, you know and over at least 120 to get to get the price but the price per lego is ridiculous is cost more than gold but Yeah, the people they found over twenty eight hundred dollars ah twenty eight hundred pieces of these in homes In this home in Long Beach, California And yeah, they busted them found it as the picture of them piled up is just ridiculous the amount of stuff that they had
00:52:23
Speaker
um The most expensive ones are the big ones, like the Star Wars ones. I have the Death Star one. The ones that are like 5,000, 6,000 pieces, is they're more challenging. It's kind of like having a puzzle. You do a 1,000 piece puzzle, it's more challenging. You do a 2,000 piece puzzle, it's going to be even harder. so the more The more pieces, the more for adults, because adults buy these more because they're expensive. so um Steve Carell has been talking, he's been doing the If movie, so he's been on he's been on the circuit talking about that movie, and he's also been talking about the Office spinoff. He confirmed that he won't show up in the Office spinoff, but he did get a call from Donald Gleason, who's going to be starring in that, and gave him advice for for being on that. He asked him for some advice.
00:53:05
Speaker
um He asked me if she'd do it, and he said, of course. So yeah, I like him. I like Donald Gleason. Of course, I love the office. I can't wait to see where this next iteration of the office goes. Reportedly, it could be called the paper. Who knows? We'll have to wait and see on that. We saw a brand new picture. Just started filming this week, Knives Out 3, with Daniel Craig debuting a lawn blonde A lot are black and white laka hair we're not really sure cuz the pictures in black and white, but and they just started filming this week So a huge cast great cast all these movies all these knives out movies have great casts And Daniel Craig is great in these movies. So what do we see?
00:53:49
Speaker
um PS 5 owners will soon be able to join discord calls directly from their console um I fucked with discord a little bit with my D and&D group That's kind of cool to have it directly added into your PS 5. That's kind of a neat neat neat thing I know I've got to talk about this after Elon took over X Xbox Nintendo and PlayStation all got rid of their Twitter app and Twitter Connectivity through their systems Used to be able to tweet on there used to be ah be able to stream on Twitter and I guess they got rid of it completely on all those systems Because everybody hates X hates hates the policies of Elon Musk going forward of what he's done with that company I know you still I know you still tweet a lot you go on there a lot more than I do and then I ever have um I've been going on there every so often every once in a while, but
00:54:40
Speaker
Um, it is definitely different than it used to be. Um, and plus access just it for me, the logo, the name is dumb. Um, Twitter was great. ah Tweeting was great. What are you calling it now? Exing makes no, we just don't call it tweeting. don't think elon must I don't think a Elon Musk wants that. he doesn't want For some reason, he doesn't like the name. Who knows? and I never understood it, but to each his own. um Got brand new character posters for Maxine coming out in a couple of weeks. So with me mya Mia Goth, Kevin Bacon is going to be in this, Bobby Carnival, John Carlo Esposito, Lily Collins, Halsey.
00:55:18
Speaker
Um, pretty huge cast. Um, especially for these movies. Um, yeah. Uh, kind of excited about that. We're going to be probably seeing that in the theaters. Um, Hunter Schaefer. I know she's in our euphoria. She is a trans actress, I believe. Right. She is joining blade runner 2099 along with Michelle Yo, which was announced a few weeks ago, a direct sequel to a 2049 with the head, uh, the head, um, What's his name? Ryan Gosling in Harrison Ford. Yeah, I don't know. I don't know anything about this. I believe this is on Prime, right? Yeah, Amazon Prime. Santa's starting to just announce that. Sony Pictures has acquired Alamo Draft House, making them the first studio to own a theater in 75 years. Yep.

New Projects in Star Wars and Game of Thrones

00:56:08
Speaker
I wish we had Alamo Draft House around here because they do sound really cool. There's only 37 in the country.
00:56:14
Speaker
Yeah, they're all out west and in the Midwest, so it's kind of... Yeah, I think there's one. There is one in in the Boston area now. Oh, there is. It went up last year, yeah. I think it's right by my cousin's place, actually. Interesting. I hear they're awesome, Yes, so they did take him out of there They were going out of business and Sony bought them and they're gonna be being running him. So that's kind of cool A movie I've never seen practical magic. They're doing a sequel with Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman um Both returning for the sequel never seen it. He on 98. I believe I was into Star Wars at the time and nerdy shit. So I wasn't into these weird magical shit, so to each his own Miles Teller to star in an officer and a gentleman remake for Paramount and
00:56:56
Speaker
I never saw the original with Richard Gere, but I do love Miles Teller, so I'll have to wait and keep an eye on that. Emily Blunt is in talks to star in Steven Spielberg's next film, which we've been speculating could be an alien movie. It's going to be for Universal. um We're not sure what it's going to be all about, but it supposedly is going to be about UFOs and space and aliens. so We'll have to wait and see on that. um M. Night Shyamalan's Trap movie. His next movie is supposed to come out on August 9th, coming out a week early on August 2nd. It actually looks pretty good. I kind of can't wait for that. Me too. The Crow. One review came out for us so far.

Coming from a Hollywood insider, writer Cliff Dorman, who says, um, the movie is unwatchable. It's horrible. Yep.
00:57:53
Speaker
Uh, yeah. i I kind of get that from the trailer, but we'll have to wait and see on that one. I do like the original. I think a lot of people like the original. That's why they're having trouble, trouble, trouble adjusting to a new remake of it. Um, I think Jason Momoa kind of lucked out leaving the role to be honest, but he was Aquaman. He should have left that too, but he didn't. Um, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Last Ronin. I'm excited about that movie. um The writer of that once original April O'Neill star for the R rated adaptation, adaptation Judith Hoag, who was April O'Neill in the first movie, once heard a return.
00:58:35
Speaker
As April Lanier, this R-rated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It's going to be kind of cool. um I'm excited for it because I don't know anything about the story. I don't know anything about the comic book. um All I know is there's one turtle turtle left and he's all taking the revenge for all of his brothers who passed. So that's kind of cool. um Paul Giovanni is joining a new Star Trek show called Starfleet Academy He's gonna be a return of recurring guest role as the main villain of this first season um Who has a sinister connection to one ah of the past of one of the yet-to-be cadets? Yeah, I know I know ah Paramount has a huge thing with Star Wars with a Star Trek. Sorry
00:59:15
Speaker
I almost said Star Wars. and yeah they they' They just finished Picard, so you don't have to wait and see on that. I do love Paul Giamatti. That's kind of cool. 28 years later as a Star Wars actress Erin Kellyman, she was in Star Wars. She was in isn't Solo, the Han Solo movie. She was asked and i was one she asked she she was also in ah Falcon Soldier as well. She played the villain in that or the antagonist.

um George RR Martin has is saying that the spin-off 10,000 ships is back in the works. I was so confused with all those spin-offs on HBO, what was canceled, what's actually happening. I know, of course, House of Dragons happening starting this weekend. They need to make Ryan Condal the showrunner of House of the Dragon just the overall overseer of everything that comes out of Westeros. aye And also, he needs to fucking finish his book. Two books. Three books, technically. He sure does like to talk a lot online about shit, doesn't he? Yeah. But he doesn't finish the book. He certainly does. He never finishes the book, but he likes to talk a lot about the book. And this has been, what, a decade at least that that book is... When was the last book that he did? When did it come out? 2011, the year of the first season premiered. Oh my god.
01:00:43
Speaker
30 years ago. It came out literally as the... It came out on the day of the last season, the last episode of the first season premiered. Wow. Wow. He is either procrastinating or he just can't come up with the ideas of what he's doing. He's writing himself into a corner because he came up with too many... He has way too much stuff going on right now. He needs to get rid of basically three quarters of the characters in this book and then have the last final book, A Dream of Spring, which will probably be coming out in like 2075 at this point. It'll still be alive. i I honestly hope that he's already written them and just doesn't want to face any fan backlash so he's not releasing them until after he passes. I hope that's what's happened um because of how controversial the end of the show was but also at the same time I don't think he's doing that. so does he Does he have kids or is he single? What's his story? I think he has kids. So they'll probably if they did die they would release his stuff if if something happened to him. he would think I think he said that he's not letting anyone write anything but like they might release what's written. Right. Right. Okay.
01:01:41

It's not gonna be weird, because Tolkien, Tolkien did the same thing as Christopher, Christopher Tolkien took over the stories of that scene. Same thing with Dune movie, Dune books, half of them were written by The Sun, yeah. Yeah. Maybe they aren't authors. In a strange turn of events for in the sports world, Conor McGregor is out at UFC 303, renounced yesterday, ah suffered an injury. I know there's a lot of other controversial stuff going on with him. I don't know. I haven't read up on it. um Something with his wife and I don't know what the fuck's going on.
01:02:14

And another travesty. A travesty in the sports world. Joey Chestnut banned from this year's annual Nathan's 4th of July hot dog eating contest. All because he was spotning did a sponsorship deal with plant-based impossible foods for an impossible hot dog. And Nathan's didn't want to have any part of it. So they fired him. We mentioned it last week that Kobayashi was gone too. um So what did Netflix do? Saw the opportunity, called Joey Chestnut, called Kobayashi, and they set up an unfinished beef live special on Labor Day weekend. so September 2nd, Monday, gonna be live on Netflix, and gonna be having a hot dog eating contest between the two of them on Netflix. the The stage has been set.
01:03:07
Speaker
Not only are they going to have Tyson versus, what's his name? Paul? Was that Luke? No, Jake Paul. They're going to have Chestnut versus Kobayashi. Unfinished beef. Poster looks great. It's the two of them grabbing a hot dog. Oh, Netflix. Oh, Netflix. um House of Dragon renewed for season three. see the boys season five renewed for their final season uh fourth fifth one just fourth one just came out yesterday so these two shows already renewed before they aired uh very exciting uh the boys ending with season five on a high note so that's what's kind of cool that's great i think that season five should be the last season it's kind of getting a little bit
01:03:49
Speaker
Yeah. Like they're just trying to like outdo the grossness of the comics at this point sometimes. Yeah. Um, which is kind of annoying, but, um, yeah, I think having five seasons is perfect for the boys, um, with the way the show is headed. Cause I mean, they already butcher is going to die soon anyways. So. Yeah. Yeah. Um, well, Jake saw is a Disney prison princess. Now you can stream the first seven soft films on Disney plus at this moment. When you wish upon a star, Jigsaw will kill you with a car. I don't know how he kills people. Sawing people, I guess. The movie is called Saw. But yeah, the first Saw film, seven of them are going to be on Disney Plus, and I think they already are. So yeah.

Marvel and DC Film Previews

um Speaking of disasters, Dwayne The Rock Johnson, in his seven bucks production,
01:04:41

have signed a multi-year deal with Disney to develop films for theatrical and streaming. um Speculation that he could be in the MCU. I really hope not. ah But we'll have to wait and see. I think this has more to do with Moana and Moana 2. Yeah. The live-action version than anything. But yeah, he can't do anything at WB, so where does he go? Disney. uh... that's exactly where he went and he ended up getting injured there so uh... rumors that episode that this next ray episode of star wars gonna be called episode ten a new beginning uh... stand-alone movie not part of a trilogy is what they're saying unless it does well they're probably can add more to it but there's no uh... for forward plans going after this is going to be a movie and then see if it doesn't he does good and they'll see what we see where it goes from there
01:05:35
Speaker
Which is a good idea. They kind of have a lot to prove with Star Wars at the moment. so The next movie in the docket is going to be Mandalorian and gro Grogu, so we'll have to wait and see. um Superman set photos reveal a first look at the redesigned Lex Corp. It's going to be called Luther Corp in the movie. um Yeah. um Also, speaking of that, DC Studios has hired Danny McBride to write Booster Gold. So perfect. Because you've never read Booster Gold, right? I have not. I don't know. but like If you read Booster Gold, it's legitimately Danny McBride. Like, this is the best news that I've heard for Booster Gold since the announcement. um As long as it's not being played by Chris Pratt, the show should be fucking awesome. Yeah.
01:06:24

um Peacemaker currently filming they've confirmed that Tim Meadows from so SNL has joined the cast of season 2 also they've cast a Picard actor Sol Rodriguez so I don't know who that is but I do know who David denni Denman and he's Roy in the office um he's he's also joined Peacemaker season 2 speaking of that James Gunn confirms that super bad director is involved with Season 2, I love Superbad, it's one of my favorite movies. huh So yeah, that's kinda cool. um And Creature Commandos, the very first thing that's gonna be on screen for this new DC universe is coming out in December. I'm not sure the exact date, but it's ah currently in development. um All the animation is in there, and yeah, it's gonna be on Mac, so we'll have to wait and see on that.
01:07:18
Speaker
um Announced today. There's gonna be a blue beetle animated series in the works on the director of the movie and the screenwriter of the film ah Will be executive producing the series um Other than that, we don't know what the connection is to the DC you all we know is uh Shiloh is gonna be back as Blue Beetle obviously and he'll probably I'm guessing he'll appear in the booster gold series yeah um Live-action is my guess so like it seems like basically what James is doing is like what they do with when they relaunch Comics is they keep some stuff and they throw a lot of other shit away So it'll be interesting to see what he works into the new universe
01:07:58
Speaker
So we're about a month away, a little bit little bit more than a month away from Deadpool and Wolverine. yep ah Got a brand new, on Best Friends Day, we got a brand new TV spot revealing the very first look at Lady Deadpool's legs. And we also saw a very quick glimpse Vinnie Jones returning as juggernaut and if you in a quick Blakey you'll miss it seen He said Vinnie Jones said he I am NOT coming back for that movie. Maybe it's not him Maybe it's another actor coming in for the role, but we'll have to wait and see on that or old footage or old footage um Yeah, we'll have to wait and see um Also, I believe it was variety or Hollywood Reporter
01:08:41
Speaker
or entertainment weekly one of those big name stories came out saying and denying that Taylor Swift is officially part of Deadpool and Wolverine um I think there's two two reasons for this to happen obviously the first one is to swerve the sort of the audience To make them not believe that everybody thinks that she's in the movie because she's been in she's she's friends with Ryan Riddle She's friends with Sean Levy They were sure they showed up at the football game with when with Kelsey was playing. They were all in the stands together So fans think that she's in this movie so it's either the to numb out that trail so people are kind of forgetting that or She's not in it which is possible um
01:09:31
Speaker
I don't know. If she's in it, Swifties will see it. Swifties will talk about it. They'll have open up the audience more to to than 40-year-olds like us that are still loving this shit. Yeah, so I don't know. We'll have to wait and see. She plays Dazzler. She could play Liddy Deadpool. Who fucking knows? um If she was in it, it'd be kind of cool. I mean, fuck, we had Brad Pitt in the second one, so who knows? I'll walk out.
01:09:58
Speaker
Sure you will. Hot Toys announced the very first official look at what Wolverine is going to look like with the mask. um Looks kind of cool. Very first time he's worn Hugh Jackman has worn the mask. Brand new costume, of course, we've seen in the trailer. But the mask should have happened a long time ago. Bryan Singer was wrong for not including the costume and the mask. So i'm kind of cool, kind of glad that it's finally showing up. um
01:10:27

Avengers 5 and Secret Wars rumored that um they're going to be treating Doom similar to how they handled Loki in the Infinity Saga. In other words, they're going to be using it sparingly, um but he's going to have kind of an arc that's going to be told throughout the whole entire series rather than just one movie. Kind of exciting. i really Doom is one of the characters I'm and more excited for than any coming into the MCU. Whether it comes in through the Fantastic Four universe or however it comes through, um I hope he is more Latvian than he is um Associates of the Fantastic Four, which is all of what the movies have shown so far. We'll have to wait on that. um And another director has left Blade. I'm not sure about this movie, Kevin. This is the gambit of fucking MCU.
01:11:21
Speaker
um The rumors that this guy wasrose was difficult to work with, Mahershala Ali had a tough time working with him behind the scenes trying to get this movie right. um i I don't know how the hell Mahershala Ali is still connected to this movie. He's a big time actor, has a lot of stuff to do, has a lot of projects I'm sure on the table that he could be doing rather than this, but he's been attached to it for so long. So many people are coming in now. Right, so what's going to happen to this movie? Is it even on isn'st even on the schedule anymore? Is it going to be pushed back? um Who knows? The last thing we heard, of course we're going to get more information at Comic Con, so we'll hold off on that. but
01:12:04
Speaker
i Can't see this movie coming out for another three years at least They have a new writer coming in to this gonna touch up the script. So there's a lot of mess with this movie So yeah, that's it for news um next week third episode of who killed WCW with Vince Russo great acolyte episode for Dexter watch continues um I skipped it this week because I didn't have time to get to it but we're gonna talk about Black Panther Wakanda Forever next week in the road to Type 1 Wolverine. um A new documentary came out this week called Brat. um All about the brac patent Brat Pack in the 80s.
01:12:41
Speaker
um I think it's on here. It's on Hulu. um I do want to watch it hearing good things about it um The only one that I think didn't come back for it was Molly Ringwald So yeah, I'm excited for it though um Brand-new movie comes out next week bike riders. I think we may be seeing that we'll have to wait and see um And this weekend house of the dragon season 2 premieres on HBO and on max so excited for that getting great reviews and Yeah it is. Say it's way better than the first season and they changed stuff from the books which makes me happy so I don't know fucking anything that's gonna happen. Or I don't know everything that'll happen you know. Yep. So that's it. We will talk to everyone then so yeah. We'll talk to you then. Peace. Later.
