Introduction and Dynamic Duo

00:00:31
Speaker
Keeper. Where we talk about it all. From superheroes to wrestlers. We stand tall. We're and Kevin. The dynamic duo inside.
00:00:42
Speaker
Keeper.

Setup Confusion and Changes

00:01:25
Speaker
Hey, but on what's going on? Why are we on the side? I don't know, man. don't like that either. Oh, my God. don't like that. There we go. They were better. Much better. They changed everything on here.
00:01:37
Speaker
So, what's going on, Kevin?

Adam Richman and Food Adventures

00:01:40
Speaker
you down you're You're on vacation down in Florida. going to get into that in a minute. I do want to bring up something that I listened to. um Adam Richman, I did mention it to you if when you're on your way home to to listen to this. He was on Fat Man Beyond last week with Kevin Smith and Mark Bernard and Great interview with him.
00:01:57
Speaker
He's a talker just like Kevin Smith, so they had a great repertoire together. um Of course, if you don't know who Adam Richman is, Man vs. Food. yeah That was huge, what, 15 years ago?
00:02:09
Speaker
Maybe 20 years ago. um And he also has a new show on Hulu. That's what he's promoting. It's been around for a while, but... um The Foods That Built America, and there's a whole bunch of other ones. Toys That Built of America. He's one of the panelists on there that talks about the history of things. Pretty cool.
00:02:27
Speaker
um Very interesting guy. um How he got his start. He talks all about it. I do recommend you to listen to that. um And that brings us into a Fat Fox
00:02:51
Speaker
Kevin has, well, first of all, this is Adam Richman. If you don't know who he is, that's for him from the first episode of Man vs. Food at Cat's Deli. This is what Kevin sent me last week when he first got to Florida.
00:03:03
Speaker
What am I looking at, Kevin? Pork wings. Pork wings are the best. Pork wings. Yes. Pork wings. So basically, it's like pulled pork, but it's on a bone, and they season it and smoke it and then sauce it, and they're incredible. It's like eating pulled pork off a bone.
00:03:20
Speaker
That sounds delightful. ah any other yeah Any other food that you you haven't told me about since you've been down there in a couple weeks? Lots of ah lots of fish tacos. Oh, yeah. I can see that. can see that.
00:03:33
Speaker
Yep. I tried a few things I'm going to bring up on the podcast too. We've actually brought them up before, but actually tried some of these. The first one, I did get my hands on some Butterbeer Kisses from Harry Potter from Hershey's.
00:03:49
Speaker
These are basically Butterscotch Hershey Kisses. No chocolate in them. They are very, very good. um Also, Sprite Kiwi Strawberry. um Limited edition to Walmart.
00:04:02
Speaker
Very good. One of my favorite off-brand sprites that they've done in recent years. The LeBron one was my favorite one. It was like a charity sprite. That was really good. My favorite thing that I tried this week was the hot honey pizza dip that I found at Walmart.
00:04:19
Speaker
um I actually got another one today because I finished this last week. This this dip is really, really good. um Also, Walmart had the Smokehouse Burnt Ends dip I told you about.
00:04:30
Speaker
um That was good, too, but the pizza one's my favorite. And I also tried Chipotle's Honey Chicken. Chipotle Honey Chicken. So did I. It's good. You did try it. It's good, but for me, I cannot do spice anymore. It had some spice to it.
00:04:44
Speaker
I'm not used to it. The brisket was better. The brisket was so much better. um And I do miss that. But yeah, did want bring those up.

Wrestling and Dark Side of the Ring

00:04:52
Speaker
ah Quickly, what we watched this week. I did not watch Dark Side of the Ring this week.
00:04:57
Speaker
like good We'll catch up on that last week. But we did I did watch the premiere last week, it was all about Mick Foley. And it was all about the Hell in a Cell match, which is... My favorite match. I've said it on the podcast, I'm sure, before.
00:05:09
Speaker
um I've seen it probably a dozen times over and over again. um And hearing the history of how this happened and and a lot of the but a lot of the shit that happened in this matchup was not planned.
00:05:21
Speaker
um Like the the cage collapsing wasn't really planned. There to be a chokeslam on top of the cage, but the cage was put together with twist... Not twist ties, but... um yeahtroiteti zipides Yeah, that's what I was thinking of. Zip ties.
00:05:37
Speaker
And they were weak. So when you had a 300 pound body getting chokeslammed on it, it broke through. And of course he landed. He flew with a chair like going side by side with him off the top.
00:05:49
Speaker
And he ended up hitting the chair, hit him as he went down and knocked out a whole bunch of teeth and shit. Crazy match. If you've never seen it, but the documentary first episode of dark side of the ring, I'm glad they tackled this. Um, we always talk about, wow, what can they do the next season in this season?
00:06:04
Speaker
They have a lot of stuff already planned of stuff that we never have thought, never thought of. Like that next week is big van Vader. um We've got Tony Atlas, which we talk about all the time on this podcast because he's a crazy fuck. He's from Maine. Episode 5, Billy Graham, superstar Billy Graham.
00:06:21
Speaker
ah Eddie Gilbert, Billy Jack Hayes, all these guys I've heard of. The original Sheik. Daphne. I knew Daphne way back in WCW. And Muhammad Hussain, who was probably the most current controversial character that Vince McMahon created in the last 20 years.
00:06:37
Speaker
So that's on Tuesdays. That's on Vice, but it's on iTunes. Not on YouTube this year, but we'll talk about it next week. This week was the episode on guy I never heard of, Ludwig Borga. Ludwig Borga. He ended up in the UFC.
00:06:51
Speaker
Yeah, he ended up in the UFC at one point. um He was a piece of shit, but yeah, remember him. Yeah, that's pretty much what the trailer said. He is he had swastika tattoos and everything, but... I want to give a quick reaction to the studio.

TV Shows Discussion: Apple TV and Winning Time

00:07:04
Speaker
um have you Have you had a chance to get Apple TV back? are you Yeah, I started it. I just didn't get into it much. It was like late night and I fell asleep. That's cool. um Well, the big thing with this show is it's it's Seth Rogen with his writing partner, evans Evan Goldberg. and ein I think his name is Evan Goldberg.
00:07:23
Speaker
Um, and they wrote this story of an executive working in a Hollywood studio, trying to create movies and everything. And, um, the one movie because of the hype from Barbie, the one IP last year or two years ago, they did gangbusters for the Hollywood movie.
00:07:41
Speaker
um They decided they want to make a movie on the Kool-Aid man, on Kool-Aid. And the whole entire story of it is amazing. And they bring in Martin Scorsese, who wants to do a Kool-Aid movie, but not not in that sense. He wants to do the Jonestown and putting poison in the Kool-Aid. Yes, the cult. Drinking the Kool-Aid. Yes. The cult.
00:08:00
Speaker
um So yeah, hilarity ensues. Second episode reminded me a lot of The Bear. Lots of tension. um Very, very good. It's like one single camera shot the whole entire episode. And today's episode was really good too.
00:08:13
Speaker
um Great show. ah So far guest stars Paul Dano, Bryan Cranston, Catherine Hahn, Martin Scorsese like I mentioned, Catherine O'Hara, Charlize Theron, Steve Buscemi. This week's episode had um Anthony Mackie, Dave Franco, and Ron Howard.
00:08:30
Speaker
That was a great, great episode too. This is on Apple TV. It comes out on Tuesdays. ah Three episodes in. I don't know how many episodes going to be this season, but it's on Apple TV if you want to watch um another great show. We are on episode five. i have ah Episode four and five that we're to talk about this week is episode five of Celtic City.
00:08:48
Speaker
And I mentioned once I finished Severance, which I did, we'll talk about that in a minute, but um I did want to get into winning time, which we're going talk about. but This is a great week to do that because this is all the beginning of what happened pretty much in winning time. winning time um which was the HBO show that came out 2021, I think, something like that.
00:09:07
Speaker
Yeah. First season. um But episode four was all about Larry Bird, the great white hope, um the racial racial divide, um the viewer resurgence and through the NBA because of pretty much Bird versus Bird and Magic Johnson.
00:09:24
Speaker
um And the parallels of their rivalry, parallels of their career, um Where they started off as as car college rivals, um where Magic beat him in the finals, I believe, in college.
00:09:37
Speaker
um And then they were always trying to beat each other up in the whole entire decade of the 80s, from what I believe. It talks a lot about Robert Parrish, Kevin McHale, Cedric Maxwell. um His fight in the stands was amazing.
00:09:52
Speaker
um The 81 Finals versus the 76ers and Dr. J. That was an amazing story. Great, great, and great episode. And this week was just as good. This is the basically all the Lakers saying fuck Boston was the name of the episode this week.
00:10:07
Speaker
um They brought in Jerry West. They brought in Pat Riley. Jeannie Buss had a couple of quick shots of talking in there. um Red Arbrock shutting down the visitors team locker room, which is brought up in the winning side time show, too.
00:10:21
Speaker
Yep. ah Bill Walton was there. We just talked about him last year when he died. Yep. I recognized him. and Yeah, I forgot that he had passed. Yep. Yeah, the cool thing about this that really made me remember is because they interviewed Tatum and they interviewed Paul Pierce.
00:10:36
Speaker
And the two stars of the last two generations both grew up in separate Laker Dynasty fans. Paul Pierce grew up a Lakers Dynasty fan of the 80s, and Tatum was a fan of Kobe Bryant in the 2000s.
00:10:49
Speaker
And they're both Celtics and helped us win championships. I think that's kind of awesome. Yeah, yeah they they do a great job of the storytelling. um The one thing I did want to bring up... um The 1986 championship, they won that.
00:11:02
Speaker
that was the That was not the one where there was a big huge brawl in the on the on the
00:11:11
Speaker
wood. What do you call it? On the parquet? That was 84. That was 84 versus... Lakers. Lakers, yep. What's his name? 86 was a great year.
00:11:21
Speaker
yeah eighty five that was great year But they do bring up Len Bias, who you brought talked to me off-pod about... Oh, my God. Next episode is going to probably focus on that. Yeah. oh Because, yeah, the end of this episode is basically, like, the guy being like what do you think about Len Bias?
00:11:37
Speaker
And he's like, oh, I think he's going to work out great. And the like guy goes, no, he's dead, which happened two days after he was drafted. That's crazy. He was probably going to lead the Celtics. Like, the way they got him, like, the way they traded...
00:11:50
Speaker
the hero of the 84 team, the next off season to the Seattle supersonics. And then we get, because of that pick for two years in advance, we get picked two of the NBA draft coming off a championship is fucking insane.
00:12:06
Speaker
Right. um Yeah, I cannot wait to hear because you've been piping me up on that for a few weeks now. And of course, getting into this, I had to get into winning time. um This is a perfect week to do it.
00:12:17
Speaker
Watch season one and because we recorded late, I ended up finishing season two this weekend. mean Stars John C. Reilly. As, um what's his name? Buss. Jerry Buss. Dr. Buss. Jerry Buss.
00:12:30
Speaker
Jason Clark is incredible in this show. Yes, is. As Jerry West. um Adrian Brody, also awesome as Pat Riley. Michael Chiklis plays Red. Who is awesome in this. That's Michael Chiklis? No kidding. Yeah, Michael Chiklis.
00:12:47
Speaker
and um Sally Field played Dr. Buss's mother. um Jason Siegel played one of the coaches. I can't remember his name. One of the coaches that took over after. first cook Yeah, he was the Yeah, who was good in this.
00:13:00
Speaker
Wood Harris played one of the basketball players. are most notable ah people that i I recognize. Lots of cameos. Mike D was in an episode. He played like a DJ at a party for the for the Beastie Boys. Mike Epps played Richard Pryor. lot of cool like inside Hollywood, inside bat a basketball stars and cameos throughout the whole entire series.
00:13:22
Speaker
um And season one was great. The story of how he got the Lakers, um And how he was trying to get the championship and how they got my Magic Johnson. and talks And the very beginning of the first episode, um which I think they would have tackled if the show had lasted longer, was mike Magic Johnson finding out he had AIDS, which is...
00:13:43
Speaker
Pretty cool. Well, not cool for him, but cool to see. um And then in season two was all about the rivalry between Bird and Magic Johnson and trying to get this team united and finding the right coach to do it. ended up being Pat Riley, who I know He played, what, for like eight seasons with them as the head coach?
00:14:05
Speaker
Something like that, yeah. Something like that. um And at the end of it, it was 84, the 84 champion. It was the very last episode, right? And that's the one where the Lakers lost and the Celtics won.
00:14:19
Speaker
And there was a riot and all the fans came out of the stands. Fans were attacking Yep.

Superman, Lakers, and Magic Johnson's Legacy

00:14:25
Speaker
it was nuts in there there's one there's one scene which they showed in both the documentary and winning time ah the fan jumping up on the ba whilehoo and just like waving his shirt around cause they won um crazy um And the the season 2 finale also started with the classic 80s HBO opening title. i don't know if you remember that when you watched it way back in the day. I do. yeah That was a great touch to that episode because it was yeah it was just great to get you into that time period.
00:14:54
Speaker
um And of course, in contrast to the Celtics documentary, you're seeing a whole other side because you're getting a love fest. You're getting the love fest of the Celtics and winning time. You're getting the love fest of the Lakers with all of the hate for the Celtics because everybody hates the Celtics.
00:15:11
Speaker
um They're the definitely the one team in the NBA that everybody universally can hate. And a lot of it has to do with Larry Bird and the way he's portrayed in both documentary the show. Oh, the guy's dickhead. He's a dickhead.
00:15:26
Speaker
Yes, much so. You said the guy that you wanted to play your team, you hated playing against. um yeah winning time is fantastic the ad plays kareem abdul-jabbar is absolutely fantastic incredible incredible like the whole cast so well casted um the thing about this show is it is a lot of uh satire it's a satire look at the yeah team the book it's based on is excellent i listened to the audiobook as soon as season two wrapped up awesome it it covers like the 70s it covers up through like the shack and kobe era like it covers everything
00:15:57
Speaker
Oh, interesting. it may just And they just took a few of the chapters out for this show. But yeah, great show, great book. And like you mentioned to me yesterday, this show was canceled five minutes before the season two finale.
00:16:10
Speaker
yeah um they didn't and they had they They had kind of had an idea, so that what they did is they filmed a finale for season two. and They filmed two endings, and one was the one that we saw, which was going to be a series finale, kind of giving ah what's going to happen with the characters later on in the decades to come.
00:16:26
Speaker
And they had another one that was probably going to end right where Magic Johnson's kind of looking like he just got defeated. And that probably was going to be the ending. But yeah, um of course, it got canceled. So that's the ending we got with we're showing where where everybody but what happened to everybody after the fact.
00:16:39
Speaker
um And I would have been the great to see the late 80s. I would have loved to see the rivalry where the Lakers actually defeated Boston. um it would have been great to see his aides finding out he had aides get in having to actually retire and finding out that whole story of that because that's i mean a huge thing i remember when even i wasn't even in basketball and i remember that and dream team and all of that i remember all of it but yeah um so that was another thing i was thinking he so he retired in what 89 90
00:17:08
Speaker
91. So he came back for the Dream Team in 92. already had AIDS. That's interesting. And he retired. He played with AIDS in the NBA. um How long did he know? just the it oh he knew. it was already after the announcement, I believe.
00:17:23
Speaker
Oh, okay. Oh, wow. I thought it was right away. He played like the preseason that year, and then guys refused to play against him. That's what it was. Okay. Yeah, then that would make sense because at the time, I mean, it was is a crisis, so people were scared of it. ah Great show. If you're not seeing this on HBO Max, you can stream it. Two seasons.
00:17:43
Speaker
um Even though it did get canceled, it has it is kind of a complete story. um You do wish there was more to it, but if you watch the Celtics documentary on top of it, you youll kind of get the rest of the story next week when we talk about the leakers rivalry, which you're going to get into, I'm sure, with Glenn Bias as well.
00:17:57
Speaker
Um, were you able to watch last night's Daredevil

Daredevil Episodes and Lily Taylor's Role

00:18:01
Speaker
episode? Yes. Okay. We'll talk about it. Um, last week, so we have a couple episodes. We're not going talk a too much about it.
00:18:09
Speaker
Um, episode five, we saw Kamala Khan, uh, Ms. Marvel's father working at a bank. um we see a cameo from the swordsman um we see blood graffiti all over new york city we find out that that's muse doing that um and we get a great fight in episode six of daredevil versus muse um the choreography in this was fantastic um one of the one of the better choreot choreographed fight scenes and in this show so far um And then this episode was the culmination of that scene in episode 7 that came out last night um where Daredevil finally took took out Muse um and I believe his girlfriend was the one that did the final shot to kill them. but
00:18:51
Speaker
And... um and Now Kingpin has a bullseye, no pun intended, on all vigilantes wearing masks.
00:19:01
Speaker
He has a reason to, because Mews was the terrorizing everybody, and not only does that put Daredevil, I wish they could access Spider-Man. But not only does that put a target on Daredevil's back, but to put any any other vigilante in New York City um under Wilson Fisk's eye to be arrested, apprehended, and stopped from any vigilante justice. so um Two more episodes left. I hear episode eight's the best of the season, and then the episode nine's the finale in a couple weeks. So cannot wait for that. i' got some new pictures from filming of season two ah season yeah season two are Born Again.
00:19:40
Speaker
With Daredevil not only wearing a black suit, but wearing the D, Double Ds. Double Ds right on the front, which we have not seen in this show yet. so um Very, very cool.
00:19:53
Speaker
Indeed. Where are we? Gotta scroll. Oh, yeah. Lily Taylor. um Probably don't know the name, but she's been in everything. She's joined in the cast of Born Again Season 2.
00:20:05
Speaker
um She was in The Haunting. um She was recently in The Conjuring, the first Conjuring. She played the mother who was being possessed in that movie in the first movie in The Haunted House.
00:20:17
Speaker
um yeah She's joined the cast of Daredevil Born Again Season

Severance Praise

00:20:20
Speaker
2. um severance season two oh my god what a fucking awesome show uh one of my favorite shows i've seen in recent memory um and i don't want to get i don't know have you probably haven't had a chance to even start this yet i don't want to get into any of it then i want you going blind um but the whole entire cast is amazing um Adam Scott's amazing.
00:20:42
Speaker
All these newcomers are amazing. ah Ben Stiller directs probably 80% of it, writes and produces, directs it. ah There's few other directors involved too, but very, very good show. This is on Apple TV+. plus um and while we're while you're gone...
00:20:57
Speaker
um Reacher, season three, we had a finale. um Right in time for me finishing it last weekend. um The colonization of what we wanted all season long, Reacher versus this big Pauly guy who's taller than him, bigger than him, can take him down.
00:21:15
Speaker
It was the longest takedown I've ever seen of a villain in this show ever. Because every time you think he's killed him, he comes out of the shadows and he's alive and just barely alive. Um, he tries to drown him. He comes flying out of the woods and Reacher's like, a fuck.
00:21:28
Speaker
Um, And after he finally does take him down, he ends up ends up being able to get the best of him. um He's finally able to go after Quinn, the the bad guy of this season, who is an old ah old bad guy from the past of his, when he was in the army. um And by the end, he actually does take him down. Great fucking show.
00:21:49
Speaker
And I believe season four is happening. I know there's a spinoff with um with, what's her name? um the The girl, Neely. Oh yeah. Coming out of that. and i think they just started filming this week.
00:22:02
Speaker
Um, so awesome. And prime video going in on the Batman thing of it all. Um, there's an episode that's gone viral with him saying, i want vengeance sounding just like Batman.
00:22:16
Speaker
And of course they put it side by side with the Batman, Robert Pattinson. So, um, I was hoping for that last night, but we'll get into that at the very end of the show. Um,
00:22:28
Speaker
Well, that being said, let's get into... Or is it? The news.
00:22:40
Speaker
And and not it's not a new segment of the Traderborn Roundup.
00:22:44
Speaker
and a new trailer for the second season, the final season of Andor, um coming on April 22nd, just so three weeks from today, or yesterday. um Yeah, it looked really good. I love this new poster that came out too.
00:22:59
Speaker
um I cannot wait to see this. It's going to bridge the gap of everything. It's going to be pretty much Rogue One uh, 0.05. So, uh, cannot wait for that.
00:23:10
Speaker
Um, got a new trailer for a movie starring Leonardo DiCaprio, one battle after another. Um, Paul Thomas Anderson, I believe, uh, directed it, um, coming out September 26th, uh, also starring Sean Penn, Benicio del Toro, Regina Hall, a whole bunch of others, uh, looked really, really good.
00:23:30
Speaker
Kind of. I, I, I'm, I'm, I'm, Like 50-50, maybe even 75-25 with Leo movies. I don't know. um But I probably would watch it, though. It's one of those type of Leo movies I'd watch.
00:23:43
Speaker
um Another movie... Have you seen the trailer for this? Fight or flight with Josh Hartnett? I have not. cool Watch this trailer. This is a, ah of course, it's set on an airplane and Josh Hartnett is on an airplane. It looks like John Wick on an airplane with Josh Hartnett with a blonde hair.
00:24:01
Speaker
It looks really good. Watch the trailer for this. Mm-hmm. last weekend's box office snow white or twos ago one with forty three million um black bag i don't know what that is and captain america both were second and third for four million um and they're saying that a snowh underperformed big time ah earning $87 million globally. It had a $270 million dollars budget. so And then you add in, of course, promotion and and everything else that they had to do leading up to it.
00:24:35
Speaker
It's going to be a big loss. um But it had a lot of controversy. It wasn't just the movie itself. It had a lot of controversy lined up with it. So, yeah. Um, Alto Nights, this movie where, uh, Robert Niro was playing himself as like, kind of like another dual role.
00:24:54
Speaker
Um, Bombed had three million, three million, um, Magazine Dreams only had 70, uh, 700,000. I don't think it had a big, huge open. I don't know how many theaters it opened to, but I don't think it had huge one.
00:25:06
Speaker
Um, but that's the one with, um, with, um, Jonathan Majors. um And last weekend's box office, a working man starring... What the fuck's his name? Jason Statham?
00:25:17
Speaker
Yeah, that him. That's the guy, Jason Statham. Yeah, he was number one in the box office last week. Snow White was number two with 14, so a big jump off for that. um And Chosen, The Last Supper, some religious movie, $11.4 million for third.
00:25:31
Speaker
um I keep hearing about this show on Netflix, Adolescence. I know if you've seen it or heard of it. I have not. It has the best ever two-week total for a limited series.
00:25:43
Speaker
It has 66.3 million views. um I don't remember. There's a big star in this. I can't remember who it was, but Adolescence. ah Probably keep an eye on that and see. We'll go back and look at it. but um Rest in peace to Bruce Glover.
00:26:00
Speaker
Probably don't know the name. Probably don't even know the name, and what he looks like now, but back in the day, he was in Diamonds Are Forever. He was in a whole bunch of TV shows, movies. He played the villain. He was in Diamonds Are Forever. He was the one that was kind of, I think he was gay. and think he was like Yeah, yeah, something like that. It was him and another guy. It was Mr. Wint is his name.
00:26:19
Speaker
It was an assassin. um He's also the father of Crispin Glover. That's why he looks a lot like Crispin Glover with a wig and a mustache and old face makeup. But yeah, rest in peace to him.
00:26:31
Speaker
rest in Rest in peace to George Foreman. We didn't get to talk about him. He died last week. I don't remember what he died of, but he's 76 years old ah Rest in peace to him. There was another big death that happened today. We're to talk about the very, very, very, very end.
00:26:46
Speaker
Okay. We're going to give him a proper send off. um Americans are now spending $69 per month on video streaming. That is ridiculous.
00:26:58
Speaker
Um, considering probably that's what we were paying for cable 10 years ago to 15 years ago. But, um, yeah, we always knew that number was, and it's going to get higher and higher and higher. The thing about that is you don't have to have everything.
00:27:11
Speaker
Like you can wait, like say till stranger things is out and just make a list on Netflix and then just watch everything in that month that you had the subscription. Like I just canceled and resubscribed to stuff when there's nothing going on in the app. Cause, but it seems like most people are too lazy for that. Yeah. Yeah.
00:27:27
Speaker
I don't want to get into this fully because this whole Cogan thing that happened this week with Brooke and yeah Linda, that video is, oh my God. But Linda Hogan, when I put a video online saying that her daughter has not talked to her and it's all because of Hulk Hogan and Brooke had to come out and say that I don't talk to either one of you assholes because you're both fucking lunatics.
00:27:49
Speaker
Yeah. Yeah, it seems like there's a big rift between that and the whole entire family, except for the son, who was in a lot of trouble with but the law and got in an accident. and I think he got sued.
00:28:02
Speaker
um But he's still he's still mingling with Hulk. I know that, so ah But Brooks seemingly hasn't talked to him in a long time, and she's got two kids and married now. Crazy.
00:28:13
Speaker
um Speaking of wrestling, in the Hall of Fame this year, they're doing something different they've never done before. um WWE Immortal Moment. It's going to the first match. It's going to moments and matches in wrestling history. And the first one they're going to be inducting is Stone Cold Steve Austin versus Bret Hart at WrestleMania 13, which is a great match. Oh, so that's why Bret Hart's been making the rounds on media this week? Yep.
00:28:35
Speaker
He was on Ariel's show, and I just keep seeing clips about him talking about his favorite person, Bill Goldberg. Oh, yeah. yeah Of course. yeah good And he's also he's also going to be the first three-time inductee because he was inducted with the Hart Foundation. Hart Foundation, yep.
00:28:53
Speaker
And him solo. yep so That's going to be cool. That's going to on Friday, April 18th. Just in a few weeks, we'll have WrestleMania talk. um Dexter, Jimmy Smits, returning as Mike Miguel um for Dexter Resurrection. um This cast is huge. you get Michael C. Hall, of course, Peter Dinklage, Eric Stonestreet, Uma Thurman, John Lifko, Kristen Ritter, David Dismalchian, David Ziaz, Jack Alcott, and James Ramirez all returning.
00:29:23
Speaker
um And we do have some behind-the-scenes shots of them filming the show currently. um we got David Mastaution on the far right, and we got um Eric Stonestreet, and of course, what's-his-name from Westeros, Peter Dinklage, and Ian Thurman there. Yeah, I cannot wait to see what they do with this just a few months. Also, um I think the Dexter goes on trial thing might be real, because some pictures circulated this morning of him in a suit.
00:29:52
Speaker
Interesting. Interesting. so yeah, we'll see. um Also, ah it came out yesterday. i was not sure if it was true because it was fucking April 1st, April Fool's Day. But Original Sin has been renewed for a second season.
00:30:06
Speaker
Thank God. Thankfully. Yes, because I want to see that show continue. um Lee cronin's the mummy Cronin's The Mummy currently starting production.
00:30:17
Speaker
Jack Rainer set to star. Who is this guy and why does he look familiar? What have I seen him in? Was he in... He's in Upgrade. but was Is he the guy in Upgrade?
00:30:28
Speaker
Or was he in Mortal Kombat? Did he play Kano in... He's Kano in Mortal Kombat, yeah. Okay, okay, that's where he was. That might be it. That may be it then. He was in Kano. Cherry, he was in He looks like he could be Kano.
00:30:51
Speaker
transformers yeah i heard that
00:30:56
Speaker
maybe he wasn't ka cherry ears and cherry it looks like it could be a can He looks like the guy that played Kano. Yeah, yeah. But, yeah. Macbeth. Not really sticking out. A couple Transformers movies.
00:31:10
Speaker
Maybe it's Transformers I saw him in. Maybe, yeah. nothing Nothing else sticks out. Well, he's going to be in the new Mummy. Oh, nice. Yeah, he's going starring in that. um Got the first look for Final Destination Bloodline. We the first look of Tony Todd's character. Of course, Tony Todd has passed away.
00:31:26
Speaker
If you know Tony Todd, this does not look like the Tony Todd of yesteryear. um Definitely frail. He was dealing with a cancer, I believe, an illness. So he yeah he was he was at the end of his life here.
00:31:38
Speaker
um Yeah, it's weird it's weird it it's weird when they do that, hollywood especially stars, when they when they don't stop working. They're still going through some. It's kind of like Chadwick. Like Chadwick, yep. Linda Cardellini is set to be the lead role in Friday the 13th prequel series on Peacock.
00:31:56
Speaker
We talked about it before, called Crystal Lake. She's going to be playing Jason's mother. yeah got Jason's mom. um and believe it's set the summer before or is this uh set it's kind of showing her downfall what happens when she goes to the lake and and it kills all the teenagers but i don't know if they're gonna get that far into it or not um this has been picked up for a series since 2022 so it's been a while they finally they're finally green lighting and getting into uh production so um
00:32:28
Speaker
Christopher Masterson, Justin Bierford are all returning. two the two older kids from Malcolm in the Middle, um but the younger kid, and they have recast him. um That's the new kid on the right going to be playing him. I remember what he looks like, but for some reason he did not want to return and play the younger kid So, Malcolm in the Middle, if you want to see that. It'll be on Hulu, I believe.
00:32:49
Speaker
um 25th anniversary of Dogma. We got a brand new poster for a re-release coming to theaters on June 5th. A 4K restoration.
00:33:01
Speaker
ah And, yeah, i want it's my favorite Kevin Smith movie. um And, yeah, it's awesome. Chili's opened up a Scranton Chili's branch.
00:33:13
Speaker
um If you know the show The Office, um their second episode of season, our first episode of season two, um they do the Dundies and the Chili's. And basically they did a whole reenactment of that in in that in that and this little fake commercial that they had. It opens on the 7th of this month in Scranton, Pennsylvania. but um They had some stars from the show, they had some ah cameos from the people that worked at Chili's in that episode, um and of course the picture I have here I believe is Gian and her intern that worked with her in like season 2 or 3, yeah.
00:33:49
Speaker
but yeah Um, Renee Zellweger has joined the cast of Only Merged in the Building Season 5. Love that show. Um, Netflix is going to shoot a pilot for a different world sequel.
00:34:00
Speaker
Um, the show originally came out in 1987, I believe a sequel to, or a spin-off to The Cosby Show, I think. Um, but yeah, i remember seeing some episodes of this growing up, but, uh, that's, uh, that's gonna be on Netflix.
00:34:16
Speaker
Um, Scooby-Doo, a live action series also coming out on Netflix. Um, of course, synonymous with James Gunn, but this is not, this is not, him. This is somebody else doing it, but yeah, there's to be a whole series live action.
00:34:30
Speaker
Um, Moonlight director Barry Jenkins is going to direct a biopic on Ronnie Spector. um I'm kind of interested in that and also interested because Zendaya is going to be playing Ronnie Spector.
00:34:44
Speaker
um So yeah, it's going to be called Be My Baby. It's a 24 movie. ah Yeah, that's kind of cool. um Talking about the the studio show earlier, the original idea for that was um was something that Seth Rogen said Ridley Scott had pitched him years ago.
00:35:01
Speaker
um That Ridley Scott wanted him to star in fancy Monopoly movie. um He said, a imagine a helicopter shot at Central Park looking down on it. Pull up and you see all the buildings surrounding.
00:35:12
Speaker
ah What does it look like? A Monopoly board. I was like, fuck, that's good. Ridley Scott doing a Monopoly movie would have been weird. um Billy Joel documentary on HBO is going to dive into a whole bunch of, it's going to be a two-part documentary.
00:35:27
Speaker
We're going to dive into a whole bunch of stuff that's quote-unquote hasn't been explored. um So yeah, the documentary is called Billy Joel and So It Goes ah coming out this summer. So excited about that.
00:35:38
Speaker
Got some new character posters for How to Train Your Dragon, the live-action movie, coming out on June 13th. got Toothless here and a whole bunch of others looks good got a brand new poster for I Know what You Did Last Summer which comes out July 18th which gives me three months to catch up on these movies I've never seen any of them only two only two I thought there was some more okay so that makes it easier ah yeah exciting um got also got a new poster coming out I believe it next week or this week or one of these weeks sometime Counting Two with Ben Affleck and John Bernthal
00:36:14
Speaker
um You saw Novocaine. What do you think of Jack Quaid playing Max Payne? A lot of people are comparing that role for some reason to it. Uh, yeah.
00:36:25
Speaker
Okay. I mean, I like Jack Quaid, so... i liked max painne I liked Max Payne back in the day. loved the game, yeah. Yeah, the game. I didn't like the movie with ah Mark Wahlberg, but, yeah. um Rest in peace to Clive Revell. Revell, Revell.
00:36:43
Speaker
um Don't know the name, but if you're Star Wars, you know the voice. um he did the voice of Emperor Palpatine in the original... Empire Strikes Back before they specialized it.
00:36:54
Speaker
um And before they changed it to Anne McDiarmid in Return of the Jedi. um He did the voice. I believe a woman did the live action shooting of it. It was a woman, yep. But he was the voice of Palpatine in Empire Strikes Back, the original.
00:37:11
Speaker
um Died this week. He was also the voice of the first two or three episodes of the... ah the Batman animated series from 1994. He did the voice of Alfred.
00:37:22
Speaker
But he only did it for like three episodes and they hired somebody else to do he had to kind of minimal roles that ended up being recast later on, but iconic roles that he started off with. So it's kind of cool.
00:37:33
Speaker
Rest in peace to him. Um, Kendrick Lamar's movie with, uh, with, uh, Trey, Trey, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, um, got delayed a whole entire, almost a whole entire year to March of 2026. so yeah. Um,
00:37:45
Speaker
um so yeah um And weird news also came out yesterday on April 1st. I wasn't sure if this was true or not, but a sequel ah sequel to Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is coming out, going to be coming out on Netflix.
00:37:59
Speaker
um ah David Fincher is going to direct it with a script that was written by Quentin Tarantino, but he decided he didn't didn't want to direct it, so... He let Brad Pitt shop it around to Fincher, who said he was interested, and yes, he's going to direct it.
00:38:11
Speaker
um I actually like Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. It's one of my favorite Quentin movies. um i like I liked Brad Pitt in that. I liked the whole thing with Hollywood and everything with with this Charlie.
00:38:25
Speaker
You know what this is doing, right? This is reuniting David Fincher and Brad Pitt, who have not worked together since this fight club. Fight Club. Yeah, it's huge. I'm happy.
00:38:36
Speaker
I'm pumped. Very cool. Again, fucking April 1st. Fuck April 1st. Because I did not believe this until probably midnight last night when I realized it was being on like Variety. but um Joining the cast of House of Dragons Season 3, which is in production, started this week.
00:38:52
Speaker
um Tommy Flanagan. Seen him before. I don't know who he is. He's going to be the guy on the right here. um He's going to be playing a character named Sir Roderick Dustin. And Dan Fogler, who is in everything, a lot of comedies 20 years ago, 10 years ago, 15 years ago. He's also in the Fantastic Beasts movies.
00:39:12
Speaker
Is he the guy from Sons of Anarchy? Possibly. He's kind of a comedic guy. He was supposed to play Sam Kinison at one point, but for some reason that movie fell through. But he's going to be playing somebody called Sir Torrin Manderley.
00:39:28
Speaker
Do you know these characters? Because a lot of people are are hyping one of them up. I can't remember which one it was. but really like The Manderlys are big in the original Game of Thrones series. They're a house in the north.
00:39:40
Speaker
okay Remember when the Battle Bastards gearing up? I believe they said no to the Battle of the Bastards. I think they might be one of those families. Or they're the one that said yes.
00:39:51
Speaker
but yeah They were featured prominently in Game of Thrones big battles because they always would team up with the Starks in the early seasons. Right, okay. yeah So they're joining in the cast. Just started filming this week, so excited for that.
00:40:03
Speaker
um Nick Frost, who, if you've seen Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead, all the movies with Simon Pegg, he was the his other half of the movie Paul, which is awesome, um nearing the deal to play Hagrid in the Harry Potter HBO series.
00:40:21
Speaker
um He's going to be the groundskeeper of ah Hogwarts. Very exciting, very weird. um Of course, Robbie Coltrane played him in the first set of movies. um All these actors replacing those iconic roles are going to be strange to see, but I do like Nick Frost. I think he's funny as fuck, and I like a lot of stuff he does with Simon Pegg. Interesting to see that.
00:40:44
Speaker
um Something you've been hyping up for the last few weeks, Zack Snyder is set to direct a UFC movie. Dana White's going to produce it. Do you have any other information on this other than what's on with it?
00:40:59
Speaker
No, no one really knows. But yeah, it's officially like Greenlit because they've been talking about it for about three months, I feel like. okay We'll see. um Yeah, officially greenlit, so we'll see about that.
00:41:11
Speaker
um There's a new arcade game, Terrifier arcade game, coming out. A whole entire huge box set of PS5, Nintendo Switch, everything.
00:41:21
Speaker
um I don't know anything about it. um arctic You play Art the Clown as an arcade murdering people. Nice. If I was a side-scrolling beat-em-up or something like that. Yeah, it's got to be. yeah ah the ah Oops, not yet.
00:41:37
Speaker
Don't look at that. Live action Street Fighter movie has been delayed indefinitely. I don't know why. It's supposed to be on out on Legendary. It was supposed to make it. For some reason, it's been delayed. I don't know what's going on with it, but we'll find out more, I'm sure.
00:41:52
Speaker
um Game Informer magazine was shut down seven months ago. um Has been resurrected with new owners. This was the exclusive magazine for GameStop. Who's having a lot of issues right now. I feel like they're going through a lot of closures. I'm surprised the business is still open to be honest. I haven't been to a GameStop in probably seven or eight years.
00:42:12
Speaker
Maybe even longer. um But yeah. um Call of Duty. Now you can look at it. Yeah. Jay and Silent Bob and Bluntman and Chronic coming in as characters, playable characters. I believe they're already released, right?
00:42:26
Speaker
Yep. Yeah, and you said how much were these apiece? I think there're usually they're $20. Sometimes they will do deals, but okay usually not. That's nuts.
00:42:37
Speaker
um Yeah, that makes sense because I know that you mentioned that the Ninja Turtle 1 came out so you had to pay $20 apiece for each turtle. Is that what it was? That's fucking nuts. um April's Games for PlayStation Plus members Robocop Rogue City ah The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Hacker's Memory. I don't know if that is but the other two are interesting. I'm interested in playing it. Have you played either one of those?
00:43:02
Speaker
No, I've not. cool but They're free so I'll play them. Um, uh, Nintendo today, a new app that came out for iOS and Android. Um, it was a Nintendo exclusive app. That's pretty much going to give all the breaking news for Nintendo, uh, came out last Monday or Tuesday. And then Wednesday, the breaking news was very first article they came out with is that there's one, the live action legend of Zelda movie, um, is going to be released on March 26, 2027.
00:43:33

00:44:04
Speaker
um if you if you if you have a friend or you have a family member on your plan that you want to lend a game you can give them a virtual game card send it to them and they can play your game instead of having it's just like back in the day where you had a cartridge or even a switch game and you wanted to let somebody play it you let them borrow it well they can borrow it for i think up two weeks maximum for two weeks and they have to give it back but um interesting way of doing it i guess it's a way of kind of a trial and trial thing ill here try this game out for two weeks and then give it back to me
00:44:37
Speaker
kind of interesting i guess it's between family members i think i believe you can do it through ah through friends too but um that's gonna come out in april um on the switch and switch two but we get into that and should be a brand new game a side scroller called marvel cosmic invasion um that's the game card thing cosmic invasion reminded me a lot of the arcade marvel avengers game that came out in nineteen ninety s um it looked a lot like that lot of ah playable characters yeah it looked really really cool

00:48:23
Speaker
ah brand new higherre rule warriors game set as a prequel to breath of the wild i believe or tears that came to move prel to one of them i don't remember but it's a fighting game in high role so um a exclusive james bond game for the for the nintendo switch coming on exclusively for the system other than the name project double o seven nothing else has been said about it um and the big thing of course is mario cartet world looks awesome up to twenty four players at a time up to twenty four cars and once
00:48:57

um remind me what this is from this is from i know this is official piece of marketing for the movie a t-shirt that's a t-shirt that's what it is okay and that line on the bottom is something that is a line from the movie that superman says correct that's that's what um yeah you heard that line is using the movie and then it appeared in the t-shirt like a few days later so i yeah that's where everyone got it so i think it's in the movie but you never yeah never know yeah um also big rumor in sat charell spoiler if you don't want to know skip the next five seconds
00:56:22
Speaker
it's going to be played by bradley cooper um other than a few people saying that he is in the screening that they saw um we have no official word on that yet so um jasmine si set jones safefus jones joins this cast of lanterns um she was in hamilton she played the peggy character and the schuyler sister um yeah so cas looks hughes awesome and nathan fillan also joining coming and back as guy gardner after superman so
00:56:55
Speaker

00:57:27
Speaker
um it looks really really cool i cannot wait comes out on november twenty fifth of this year so um and last but not least while couple things cinemacon happened um we it happened it's happening currently as we speak we're gonna talk about when we come back next week the disney panel and paramount next week and amazon happening today universal happening i think right now as we're talking but um wicked for good release a new poster right there

00:58:30
Speaker
um also got some new merch ah some new pet toys if you want to go to pet store um and sony pictures had their panel yesterday morning we'll talk about that first got a new trailer you got some character posters for karate kid legends i actually like this trail looked really good um do watch do you think i should watch um not cober kaes there's no way'm going to catch up on that but should i watch all the karate kid movies before this movie comes out i like i only like the first two
00:59:01
Speaker
okay i'll just watch the second one then i like the first one a lot yeah i'll watch a so um sony also announced the four officially announced the four people that' are going to be playing the beatles in the in the biopic done by sam mendez um and pretty much everybody we said before that's an official shot of all of them they took this week um ah christopher miller director of s spiderverses post it on x twitter yesterday morning a picture of a spider with a two dot dot dots after it
00:59:34
Speaker
and we got official glimpses of beyond the spiderverse and of course we also got a new date coming out june fourth of twenty twenty seven a whole three years after you originaling yes yeah ah picks up the moment across the spiderverse and then well break the boundariries break the boundaries of animation and will be a massive finale so this is gonna end it all some great pictures there um very cool but that was not all for sony
01:00:05
Speaker
we got the brand new name for spiderman four brand new day we already know this is coming in july of next year ah filming this summer um other than tom holland officially coming back we don't really know anything else about it and dan dustin daniel craig coming cratton coming in to direct it but love shaanki ah love spiderman i love tom holen so all the all the yeah all the puzzle pieces are aligning so we'll have to wait and see how this turns out but um lionkgate had a
01:00:37
Speaker
had a thing believe yesterday afternoon now you see me three now you see me now you don't officially announced coming out november fourteenth i believe this year um whole a whole um john wick universe being developed um john wick five officially coming out a spin-off with donny yen ah his parro character cain i believe is in the fourth one is he way doing a direct so spin off to johnwick for with him um
01:01:08
Speaker
and a prequel anime movie is in the works i don't know anything else about that but john wake five is in the works keano's going to return kind of heart when he died in the fourth one but we win see and finally last night was war brothers we were expecting a lot did not get a lot but we'll talk about it any way got a new poster for final destination bloodline um guess him information of what the movie is couple of scenes um one of the death scenes as a character is going to be in a wheelchair it iss going to get sucked into an and ah um mri machine
01:01:44
Speaker
you can kind of guess what's going to happen there um but conjuring last rights is going to come out this september and on september fifth um it's going to be following the final case of the warrens also making it the final film in the mainline franchise so they're going right to the end of their story and they're goingnna tell their story for some reason they want to be done with it so i'm glad i got into it last year so i can get right into the end too um yeah a new movie from i know you liked barbarian i believe you saw it last year you were a barbarian yeah um that director
01:02:15
Speaker
coming in for a new horror movie called weapons um it's goingnna be about a town where the entire classroom of children disappears one night without a trace um starring eldon lright and and right ah julia gardner who is gonna be who' gonna be in silver surfer fantastic for ah josh bralin and benedict one who i love him too ah great cast so yeah um the bride this is maggie gillenha's bright of frankensteinli movie the bride um it's gonna be ah
01:02:46
Speaker
pretty much the frankest side of that movie played by christian bale is gonna be a a lover of movies um and it's going to follow a kind of bonnie and clide type story um where christian bale's frank estein monster is fawning over movie stars in a movie theater so that's kind of weird and and exciting we'll see um they also announced some new animated movies flintstones tom and jerry loonning tunes officially in the works a full live ah ah full animated four four movies
01:03:17
Speaker
um they also preview dynamic duo we talked about it's not dc studios produced by them but not part of the canon um but it you me purely puppetry animation um lots of beautiful cinema photography they say they show some brief footage it looked really really cool from what they say um yeah so i to way c um i guess the foot showed um ah sizzle reel batman batmobile crashes through our pillar and dick grayson is shown riding on the subway and they say it looks awesome so
01:03:48
Speaker
um and but before we get into what they showed for superman and wasn't much we were hoping for everything i think we got too hyped for yeah um but there was announced before this panel happened there was going to be an extended preview of of superman played before the minecraft movie which comes out this friday um and this cliff is going to be what's going to be playing for superman for some reason i don't know why i put that there but um ah that's why ah
01:04:20
Speaker
american psycho dadadada i'm might go talk about that yet because it didn't happen um james gun corn sweat brossnahan and holdt i'll show it up for their panel james gun started off talking about pocket universes sorcery flying dogs max max fleiser cartoons all the stuff he loves from yeah you can keep up with the not i yeah job i got you um james gun all this stuff he loves about superman pretty much
01:04:51
Speaker
um we just talked about max fleiser so it's fitting um says he chose to direct the suicide squad back in twenty eighteen instead of superman he felt that it was an easier option now if you remember the timeline this wasn't that long after ja' leak take so they were taking on that role in two thousand and eighteen would have been yeah i don't know about career suicide but it would not have gone over like the much larger break from jo sleep to superman i'm not even go to count the scenario cut
01:05:24
Speaker
but yeah they need a much larger break of between henry call and whoever they cast and two thousand and eighteen if that's when he had done it i bet you that two thousand and eighteen probably was going to be cail though i don't think i don't know if they that sure thing too is maybe he didn't want to do henry call right superman because i mean that hole it's just filled with a bunch of um baggage yeah you're right yeah even two thousand and eighteen' a anananna baggage um
01:05:55
Speaker
cor sweat praise ah those who brought superman adaptations to life in the past um allowing him to ride the path already paved with greatness so he's talking about crystalopher reeves talking about donner talking about everybody in the past who made super yeah come to life um when asked what character they would like to play in the dc universe da corn sweat said batman i love in the animated series when batman and supert man would switch spots that would be fun to do wouldn't it james um rachel brossinghan said i'd go lex luther i'd shave my head and nicholas hol
01:06:30
Speaker
when asked what other dc character he'd play he say well i auditioned for batman and superman i didn didn't get either one of so joking around um and they did show the five minute scene thats can be playing in front of minecraft um quick synopsis is pretty much in the trail where crypto grabbbs superman thats a continuous shot of that bring him to the fortress of solitude and the robots take him in and bring him into sunlight too yeah him energized again and he has interaction with the robots robots are almost acting like fans from what i gather from from this they're almost like oh my god he's talking to us
01:07:07
Speaker
so um and they show and they show a lot of clips at the end of it of of different shots from the original trailer but um not much from what we expected we expected some news we expected so maybe even the trailer release and we all yeah i think we holdinemacon in too high ever regard just because they showed us the flash just because they showed the flash last year um it's not you know really wait for news it's basically just let the theater owners and yeah and the people that provide the snacks and stuff like what's gonna happen in the next year or two and show progress on stuff that's already been in announced
01:07:40
Speaker
and it's funny because i think all the other studio studios picked up their game because of it and they knew that superman was not gonna be giving any information anything else new away i don't think we would have got the spiderman title this week probably i think they would say i think they would have saved all of that stuff but we did get it it's fine i think they were expecting this big huge hype like everybody else we didn't get it however superman day is on the eighteenth correct yes that'll be the day we get the trailer we've been saying that for a while now so um and finally a news saying it for the end because this is devastating in hollywood
01:08:14
Speaker
rest in peace to val kilmer um let me talk about valel kilmer in my perspective growing up batman forever i love batman forever a lot of people don't because it wasn't ah continuation of what happened with the returns however he did a great job paying batman in ah in a movie had a lot of flaws but that's what i remember him from later on in life i have watched a lot of the movies i will say that of course we'll talk about it
01:08:45
Speaker
he was in the very finaleio psych as the but of the butt of the joke from the very first time on yes um but who thought has he was it was probably his last talking role his last and had what of his last talking role because he lost his voice ended up showing up on top gun maverick in a and in a non-speaking role think they use ai or something to make him talk i can't remember what the whole thing was but um no
01:09:16
Speaker
you know him from unforgiven these are all movies i've watched tombstone yeah so i mean tostone for me it was always whenever i hear his name it's always top gun yeah always will be tough on because i watched that at i six or seven years old um tombstone of course um ah movie if you have not seen it definitely watch kiss kiss bang bang okay with robert downey jr and m yeah it is fucking fantastic it is incredibly good um
