You guys let her everybody know who you are and who you're playing um just to set the scene here. You guys are at the Watcher House. You have followed Lady Fiona Watcher from the ah Festival of the Blazing Sun showdown fiasco. um You were told by the Burgomaster that justice is yours to enact how you wish.

The Blade's Edge: whether it's ah bringing them in for a trial, a public a public hanging, a murder, an execution, whatever you wanted to do. Isaac Strosny, his right hand man, the Burger Master's right hand man, who has a large demon arm. His whole right arm is this big red scaly demon arm. You guys are now with him in the basement of the Watcher House, where you have tracked her down.

The Blade's Edge: You have uncovered her and her cultists in a room. They have summoned a massive bone devil. And in the main room where you are, skeletons have burst up from the floor. Now, before we roll initiative, why don't we go around the horn, ah let everybody know who you are and who you're playing. We can start with you, Tommy.

Vesz'rak: Hey, how's it going? I'm Tommy McMillan. I'm playing Desan, the Drow Elf Paladin of Lathander. And here to do some smiting with my Sun Sword.

The Blade's Edge: He's here. He is here to bash some stuff. A descendant of the bloodsinger clan ah native to Barovia, Inabi with some cultish ties of his own ah ah bash bloodsinger. Go ahead and roll us a little niche.

Kyle: I rolled and it didn't show up, but I do have advantage and even with advantage I got a nine.

The Blade's Edge: Okay, a nine, yeah, I think it maybe click your token and try rolling again.

The Blade's Edge: um That's the group, we got a 20, 14, nine, and eight. Now ah let me introduce myself. I am ah Brian Samus, I am your humble dungeon master. I will roll initiative really quickly for Isaac Strosny. This will be pretty, ah he's very powerful. So while this may seem pretty dire to paint the picture,

The Blade's Edge: They've come down some stairs in this first rectangular room. There are, uh, seven, one, two, three, four, six, seven, eight skeletons. And then in the adjoining square room, there are five cultists, lady watcher and her imp and a bone double. So Isaac Shrosny.

The Blade's Edge: Uh, very powerful will be very important in the mix here. And he rolls a 15. That's solid.

alma graves: Hell yeah.

The Blade's Edge: Now some of them are going to go on the same initiative. So we're going to have a lady funeral watchers going to roll first. She gets a 10. Now the cultists are all going to go on the same initiative.

The Blade's Edge: They roll 13. The bone devil will have his own initiative, ah which

The Blade's Edge: He gets a nasty little plus three to this roll. A filthy, just a filthy little plus three.

alma graves: Absolutely nasty.

The Blade's Edge: 22, filthy.

Vesz'rak: Jesus Christ is Jason Bourne.

The Blade's Edge: And these skeletons will all go on the same turn as well. And they roll 13, which we're going to, uh, push them down to a 12.

The Blade's Edge: Cause the cultists definitely have a higher decks. All right. Um, okay. Got your initiative bash and here we go.

Kyle: Got it.

alma graves: It's goo time. The music gets scary and I get scared.

The Blade's Edge: Yeah, I figured after 22 episodes, but as you who have been with us from the beginning, I have switched out a couple songs.

Kyle: Let's

The Blade's Edge: If you remember that, Kyle, the fantasy completes a royalty free.

The Blade's Edge: um Pretty awesome. All right. As things kick off, you've opened the door with the riddle.

The Blade's Edge: You guys stand in this room, the skeletons pop up. Lady Fiona Watcher looks at you bash and gives you a little smirk. She says.

The Blade's Edge: Such a shame. I thought me and you could have had some fun together.

Kyle: I thought what we had was special.

The Blade's Edge: um As.

Trevor: Lady, you're married.

The Blade's Edge: As you say that.

Vesz'rak: You've got two kids.

Trevor: You have a family. What are you talking about?

The Blade's Edge: Um, this bone devil can't get around this or through the door yet. So what he can do is he's going to take two claw attacks over the cultist at you bash.

The Blade's Edge: And then his tail whips over the shoulder of the cultist and over your shoulder bash to attack you.

alma graves: okay

The Blade's Edge: toson

Vesz'rak: That's freaked out, dude. Come on, man.

Kyle: is that Is that allowed without any sort of rolling penalty to just attack through one of his boys?

The Blade's Edge: Yes, he has, if he has the reach, which he does.

Kyle: That's fire.

The Blade's Edge: So bash that's fire, I guess. Wish my reach was like that.

alma graves: Yeah, that's cool of him. That's pretty cool.

The Blade's Edge: Uh, Hey DM, can I be a boat devil?

The Blade's Edge: The tail whips past and goes to you, uh, goes to you, dude. You're just on, um, that is a 22 to hit.

The Blade's Edge: I need you to make me a constitution saving throw.

The Blade's Edge: As a nine total, including your aura.

Vesz'rak: ah Yeah, does the aura auto add, or do I add it manually?

The Blade's Edge: Great question.

Vesz'rak: ah so Yeah, because it says plus 2. Actually, I can just look at the code of it. ah No, it doesn't. So 11. So it'll be 11 on the console.

The Blade's Edge: Okay, cool. 11 is still a failure.

The Blade's Edge: Uh, and, uh, you're going to be very mad at me.

Kyle: This guy sucks.

Vesz'rak: ah

alma graves: Yeah.

Vesz'rak: Okay, hold on, okay. It's not good so far.

Kyle: Wait, wait, was that a spell?

The Blade's Edge: No, he's joking.

Vesz'rak: No, I'm sorry, I'm just, no, I'm just kidding.

The Blade's Edge: He's, he's just joking around.

Vesz'rak: Sorry.

alma graves: There's some goofs and gaffes out here.

Vesz'rak: Sorry, my mistake. i Yeah, my lighthearted to nature, I'm very hurt.

Vesz'rak: Fuck.

The Blade's Edge: You may repeat the saving throw at the end of each of your turns.

The Blade's Edge: you If you have some sort of resistance or immunity to poison, please let me know.

Kyle: Ugh!

The Blade's Edge: um That is the end of the Bone Devil is ah is is too big to move through

Vesz'rak: ah no No, just charmed.

The Blade's Edge: You can't move through his cultist and bash can't move through enemy spaces. So for now, he's sort of stuck in this room um and that'll be his turn. And Nabi, you're up.

Trevor: Um, all right. Uh, I'm going to bonus action, start blade singing.

The Blade's Edge: Hmm.

Trevor: o And then, um, should I just, uh, wow. Um, all, uh, actually.

Trevor: Fuck it, I'm gonna try something weird. I'm gonna cast... a He's gonna cast Blink at third level.

alma graves: oh

The Blade's Edge: That's awesome. Why don't you tell everybody what Blink does.

Trevor: Yeah, yeah, yeah. So, you roll a d20 at the end of each of your turns for the duration of the spell. On a roll of 11 or higher, you vanish from your current plane of existence.

Trevor: and appear in the ethereal plane. um The spell fails and the casting is wasted if you are already on that plane. At the start of your next turn, and when the spell ends, if you are on the ethereal plane, you return to an unoccupied space of your choice that you can see within 10 feet of the space you vanished from.

alma graves: Mmm.

Trevor: If no unoccupied space is available within the range, you appear in the nearest unoccupied space, chosen at random if more than one space is equally near.

The Blade's Edge: Oh yeah. yeah

Trevor: You can dismiss the spells in action.

The Blade's Edge: Not concentration.

Trevor: Not concentration.

The Blade's Edge: Super good spell takes an action to cash you a bonus action blade song action cast that and do you have any movement before we get that first roll?

Trevor: um Honestly, um no, i'll I'll kind of just chill here.

The Blade's Edge: Cool. um It is Isaac Strosny's turn and you guys are going to.

Trevor: And I and i will say exactly where I'm at.

The Blade's Edge: Oh yeah, you rolled, yeah. Okay, ahead the blink does not work on the first turn.

alma graves: hmm

Trevor: yeah yeah

The Blade's Edge: Isaac, whose art I will put up here, massive demon arm and in his other hand, you guys see that he is holding a battle axe.

Trevor: buts

The Blade's Edge: which he can one hand or two hand. However, you see that he is demon arm bawling up in the fist of his demon arm is are these flames, these red flames, and he reaches back.

Trevor: Yeah. Yeah.

The Blade's Edge: And he is going to a knobby see you sort of on an island by yourself a little bit, like kind of at least separated from the rest of the group. And he's going to throw a flame at this skeleton.

The Blade's Edge: The one who's sort of right next to you, although he is, uh, on the other side of the railing, uh, is a plus five, ah a 13 is pizza pizza for the skeletons.

The Blade's Edge: For those of you keeping track at home meets it beats it. That is their armor class. So that hits and you guys are going to get to see some of the damage he can do. And that is 18 points.

Kyle: Oof.

The Blade's Edge: That's three sixes on 3d six, six, six, six.

alma graves: Oh, 666 baby, we like to see that.

Kyle: Oof.

The Blade's Edge: While there's some rituals going on, ah he throws this fireball at this ah skeleton and it covers the skeleton's head and moves past.

Kyle: Love it.

The Blade's Edge: And when the smoke clears, there is a headless skeleton that falls into a a pile of bones on the ground. He then will take his other hand and one, he'll have to one arm.

The Blade's Edge: Can't do that because he threw the flame, but he will swing the battle axe at the skeleton behind you. toa They're trying to clear some, clear some space in this room.

Vesz'rak: G bless.

The Blade's Edge: ah It's a 26.

alma graves: Yeah, baby.

The Blade's Edge: He rolls two D eight.

alma graves: Chop them up.

The Blade's Edge: That's four plus four is 12.

Kyle: That's my goat.

The Blade's Edge: Uh, that skeleton and peak panel mind telling you guys about skeleton skeletons, 13 AC, 13 HP, that skeleton has one HP left. Um, he will.

Vesz'rak: Bonkum.

The Blade's Edge: Uh, he'll just after that, take a step forward just to get in the mix with all these skeletons here. Uh, and that'll be Isaac's turn. Um, as he sort of looks around at everything that's happened and just says, are you watcher? You're done.

alma graves: Yeah, she's done.

The Blade's Edge: ah

alma graves: Get her out of here.

The Blade's Edge: And Alma, you're up.

alma graves: All right, so seeing the combat kick off, we had a suspicion this was gonna be a trap or at least something creepy was gonna happen. I'm gonna run right up next to Bash and see what's in the room.

alma graves: um And it's this fucking guy here. um I guess since there's a guy right there, um I'm gonna move here and I'm gonna cast inside the room.

The Blade's Edge: Okay.

alma graves: um sickening radiance.

The Blade's Edge: Okay.

alma graves: and

The Blade's Edge: Yeah. Why don't you go ahead and link on the map for me where you're casting sickening radiance.

alma graves: Sure, so it is a 30 foot sphere.

The Blade's Edge: Noish.

alma graves: um So let me just pull it up on the old roll 20. Let me do a circle.

Kyle: Heh heh.

alma graves: Okay, so since it can be up to 30, can I make it 10 or is it 30?

The Blade's Edge: Yeah.

alma graves: Yeah, cool, I'm just gonna cast it right there.

The Blade's Edge: Yeah. Up to. Yeah. Cool.

The Blade's Edge: Alright, actually get everybody in the room, go ahead and tell everybody what that spell does.

alma graves: Yeah, so sickening radiance. um I am gonna kind of flavor it as a glorious radiance as the light of Lathander flows through me onto these unholy creatures in the other room, including the Lady Watcher.

alma graves: um And they need to make a constitution saving throw or take four d10 radiant damage and suffer one level of exhaustion as a dim greenish light emits.

Kyle: Oh my god That's a banger

The Blade's Edge: Nice. And then yeah, go ahead and link that VTT for us as well.

alma graves: Yeah.

The Blade's Edge: Just in all of us in little 20 super sweet fourth level.

alma graves: Display, yeah. Okay.

alma graves: Fourth level evocation.

The Blade's Edge: Um, when a teacher moves in spells area for the first time on a turn or starts its turn there. So it'll be at this, it'll be like, uh, Mike's in the home games where they'll be at the right at the start of their turns.

alma graves: Right.

The Blade's Edge: They'll roll that.

alma graves: Mm -hmm. And I'm like, Bash, close the door! um As, ah i it's 17 damage for the first roll.

The Blade's Edge: Cool. Uh, while they will roll at the start of their turns, which is coming up almost all in a row, all in a row besides the,

alma graves: Yeah.

alma graves: So then I'm going to use my bonus action on Desan, who got hit by, I believe, like a tail whip or something with that poison.

Vesz'rak: yeah to Yeah, tail guy.

alma graves: um And I'm going to use my um my healing light to give him some healing. So I'm going to utilize four of my charges, which allows me to heal up to 4d6.

The Blade's Edge: uh,

alma graves: So here comes 46.

Vesz'rak: Oh, okay.

alma graves: You're healed for 13. As my brother in Lathander, you got a lot of work to do in there.

Vesz'rak: And I'm still poisoned, right?

alma graves: ah Yeah, it's not like a paladin's lay on hands.

The Blade's Edge: You are still poisoned.

Vesz'rak: Okay.

The Blade's Edge: Yes.

The Blade's Edge: Okay.

alma graves: So it was four of them.

The Blade's Edge: So how many of your healing light did you expend?

The Blade's Edge: Okay, cool.

alma graves: Of the ah eight that I have,

The Blade's Edge: You have four. Yeah, you have one per level, right?

alma graves: Yeah, one to start and then one per level.

The Blade's Edge: me

alma graves: So it's eight total.

The Blade's Edge: Nice. Okay.

alma graves: Yeah.

The Blade's Edge: Here we go. Here are the cultists saves their con saves and the the DC is.

alma graves: Uh, the DC is 17.

The Blade's Edge: Okay.

alma graves: Ah, 17. And or they take 17 damage.

The Blade's Edge: Okay. So here's the first guy's, uh, failure X 17.

alma graves: Failure, 17 damage and one level of exhaustion.

The Blade's Edge: One level of exhaustion. Uh, second guy.

The Blade's Edge: Failure 17, one level exhaustion.

The Blade's Edge: Third guy.

The Blade's Edge: Uh, failure.

alma graves: Yes.

The Blade's Edge: None of them have rolled a 10, a four, a nine and a six so far.

alma graves: Yes. The light of Lathander is powerful.

Kyle: Huge.

The Blade's Edge: Nice, nice, nice. Um, this guy.

The Blade's Edge: Uh, another six. Wow. That's four, a nine, two sixes so far for these guys. These guys are, they're so sick from this radiance.

alma graves: ah Dude, this is the sickest radiance that they've ever seen. We're gonna call this sick radiance now. It's rad as fuck.

Trevor: That's sick, Raditz.

The Blade's Edge: And, and then eight, nobody rolled, nobody rolled over a 10 of these guys and they are all one level of exhaustion.

Kyle: Crying, screaming, throwing up.

alma graves: Yeah.

The Blade's Edge: ah Which is going to come into play immediately because you say close the door and the guy at the door bash is going to attempt to move you which will be ah Athletics on athletics.

Kyle: And attempt to move me?

The Blade's Edge: He'll have disadvantage Yes Mm -hmm.

Kyle: The big guy?

The Blade's Edge: You try and push you back and exit the room. ah He will be at disadvantage For his check and you'll just roll me an athletics check

Trevor: Ash, punch him in the mouth.

Kyle: and i'm I could, I could do that.

The Blade's Edge: Uh, and he has a, he's got a plus zero.

alma graves: Yeah, just say, hell no.

The Blade's Edge: So this is just two D twenties.

alma graves: Oh!

Kyle: Yeah, go ahead and move me little bro.

The Blade's Edge: Oh my God. So unless I roll to that 20 is called lightning.

alma graves: Yeah.

alma graves: Wait, no, the DM can't call the lightning.

Vesz'rak: Yeah, no and you weren't and you weren't standing up, Brian.

The Blade's Edge: All right, that is Okay, so that's his ah he uses his first attack to attempt to shove you on his second attack He's just going to he attempts to shove you and like he puts all of his weight leans down his foot is back He's in like the perfect position to push you and he's pushing and you're just standing there You're not even move your look down and he's got both of his sweaty cultist hands on your like 12 pack and

alma graves: Yeah.

Kyle: Yeah. Watch. I'm looking down.

alma graves: Atomic bomb versus coughing baby.

The Blade's Edge: Uh, he then will whip out a dagger, um, noticing that, uh, from his, like a ceremonial dagger and attempt to stab you with it.

Kyle: Okay.

The Blade's Edge: Um, this is a 16 to hit.

Kyle: It hits.

The Blade's Edge: It took four points of piercing damage.

Kyle: That tickles.

The Blade's Edge: Uh, that's that guy's turn. And then he's going, you're going to hear somebody say out of the way. Um, and he is going to move and this will give you an opportunity attack if you'd like it.

Kyle: This is just a straight attack, I can't do like a bonus action or anything.

The Blade's Edge: Yeah.

Kyle: Yeah, I'm gonna i'm gonna take a swing on it and be like, where do you think you're going?

The Blade's Edge: Okay.

alma graves: wow

The Blade's Edge: Uh, you're rolling.

Trevor: Oh no.

Vesz'rak: Ugh!

alma graves: oh

The Blade's Edge: You're rolling hot right now. I'm going to roll that damage natural 20 from bash blood singer on the cultist who tried to move him.

alma graves: Yes.

Kyle: because a real quick I do have savage attacks when you score critical hit one of the weapons roll one of the weapons dice an additional time and add it to the extra damage.

The Blade's Edge: Washboard apps.

Trevor: Sick.

Kyle: So this is going to be 2d 12 plus seven.

The Blade's Edge: Yes.

The Blade's Edge: so It'll be three because you on a natural 20, you already double the dice and then with Savage attacker, you add another.

alma graves: Mm hmm.

Kyle: oh

The Blade's Edge: So we have 3d 12 plus whatever number you have plus.

alma graves: Yeah, so you.

The Blade's Edge: Oh, no, you're not reading.

alma graves: Oh.

Kyle: That'll be 25 points of damage Brian.

Trevor: God damn.

The Blade's Edge: It's huge. I think also just for you, if you click grade X plus two in the rule 20, it might have, it might roll for you.

alma graves: Yeah, I will.

The Blade's Edge: Although I do like that you manually rolled it. That is.

alma graves: Mhm.

Kyle: I think I like manually rolling it, it feels nice.

The Blade's Edge: Yeah. Click it anyway, just so we can see if it's it just so we didn't miss anything.
