Hello and welcome back to the Blade's Edge D and&D actual play podcast. um We are picking up in the aftermath. of the Festival of the Blazing Sun showdown between Lady Fiona Watcher, Baron Vargas, a saber tooth tiger. We didn't know what was going to happen with that um in this moment. ah Why don't everybody introduce yourselves and what your character looks like slash is doing in this moment. And we will go in reverse order of the order we went in last time. So

He's just kind of looking for the quickest way out of this town and onto progressing what he thinks is the, well, and what is the mission of everybody?

Cool. And now he stays on the roof. He's crouched down on a roof. Watching this all unfold as the Vargas comes back from the dead, stands up. The mastiffs are barking. They're running over once. Starts licking his face. Bash in this moment. ah Who are you? Who are you playing? And what's Bash doing in this moment? Does he still have a kid's head in his hands?

Yeah, Kyle number two, playing bash blood singer. um In this moment, bash is experiencing a shock unlike anything he it's a new feeling that he's experiencing for the first time in his life, because he came into this encounter wanting to do something but thinking he was doing something good, which ultimately he was going to try and stop this loose saber-toothed tiger. And the slightest notion of someone opposing him or trying to get in his way, his instincts kicked in and he ended up beheading someone ah whether he wanted to or not. And I think the weight of that is is starting to set in as he looks down at his hands,

decapitated head in one hand and a bloodied axe in the other he would drop the head and see that his hands are covered in blood and shaking he has terrible tell terrible tremors he feels like he wants to vomit this uncertainty is too much for him to bear and uh For the first time, he feels a rage that isn't caused by anyone else doing something to him. It's a rage caused from something within him in a rage towards himself. And I think he would look around for the closest thing he can destroy. He sets his sights on this tree up here.

and he walks over and he brings his axe and he just starts swinging at this tree as hard as he can and as many times as he can until there's nothing left.

There's tree bark flying, there's wood chips flying. letting out guttural screams, thinking that he is someone like he he doesn't know who he is because of the actions that he's um done today. And so he swings at this tree and swings at this tree. And then he drops his axe and just falls to his knees and is breathing heavily on the ground.

covered in sweat but you wouldn't know it because it is raining as you chop down this tree and over and over and over again your feet digging deeper into the mud with each swing to the point when you're done you're almost sucking your boots out of it.

Now, I appreciate you healing me. I don't appreciate him beheading that kid, although I understand, given the fact that I deflected some of Lady Watcher's Angus to me, to you. But like I said in my speech, you've been in my town for three days and I haven't met you, but my little spies have telling me ah been telling me that you have visited Lady Watcher's house. So what am I to think? You're on the roof.

I couldn't agree more as a man who worships Lathander as well. That's what this whole festival was about. He points to the the blazing sun, which is now not blazing anymore in the center of the courtyard. Now it is just a wet, burnt wicker ball. He says, that that is what it's about. It's about hope. And you with your sun sword, us with Lady Watcher in custody, or to show people Maybe it is a time it is a time to show strength. And we hold a public execution for Lady Watcher. Show the people that the evil that comes into our town is met with the light of Lathander. You could even perform it.

It's not gonna make everybody feel better, I think.
