I have Calendula. So I was thinking like I've been putting vitamin C oil on it too. Yeah. Yeah. If you do Calendula in like olive oil or avocado oil, well you can't do avocado oil, right? Nah. Yeah. But olive oil. Olive oil or coconut oil or whatever.

You have to infuse it though, that's the problem. So you can do it on the stove at the lowest heat setting, like don't boil it. You just have the water hot and you put the calendula and covered in oil in a jar.

on the stove but that takes like eight hours or you can do it just like let it self-infuse and that takes like four to six weeks and you have to shake them every day. Yeah. Yeah. So that's like I do those oils and those are my bases in my cells. So I do the like whatever blend I'm doing and then beeswax and then if I want to add like essential oil for smell. Yeah. Salves are really easy. They're just time consuming.

So I will say, I don't know if you've tried doing it at night before, but the doctor I went to,

I'll just get into it. So planets going into retrograde and just retrograde, it's very common and it's a regular occurrence. But when we hear about planets going to retrograde, we usually hear it in reference to the planet Mercury, which Tiffany's going to cover later in this episode. That's the only thing I covered. Because it is whenever you think about retrograde.

And why we associate retrograde exclusively with Mercury, because some people don't even know that retrograde can affect other planets. So what does retrograde actually mean? When we look into the night sky, we usually see planets move from the west to the east. And all planets travel the same way. They all travel the same direction around the sun.

And if you were to imagine the Earth's North Pole, the planets we see in the night sky would usually be seen traveling anti-clockwise, which is the normal or more common motion, and it's also known as prograde. But when a planet is observed in a retrograde motion, it appears that it is moving from east to west across the sky, making it appear that it's moving backwards.

The planet itself isn't moving backwards. It's actually an illusion created by our viewpoint here on Earth and is created by the different speeds at which the planets are moving around the sun. So if Earth's orbit is faster than a planet within another orbit, we tend to see that planet from a different perspective. So a good example of this, like I saw this on an article I was reading by Holly Spanner from the BBC.

This example made it make so much sense for me. So imagine you're driving on a highway or as she phrased in a motorway because, you know, BBC and a car passes you and they're like way far down the road. You end up catching up with that car as you're like going faster and that the car that was ahead of you, as you overtake that car, it appears as if the car is moving backwards when

you're pulling ahead of the car when in all actuality, the car isn't actually going backwards on the highway. I mean, if it is, then that's a problem. But it's just that the car looks like it's going backwards because you are going faster. And that is essentially what we see and what's observed whenever we say planets are in retrograde. It appears to us that they're moving backwards, and that's just because the Earth is moving faster.

makes so much sense. Yeah. So any of the planets whose orbit is further away from the Sun than the Earth can go retrograde around the same time they are in opposition as well. And so opposition is when a planet appears to be in the opposite direction to the Sun when viewed from Earth. So this would make the planet appear bigger and brighter and it makes the planet

appear close to Earth, because it is closer to Earth than it usually is, because the Earth at this point is passing in between the Sun and that planet. And so oppositions generally occur about one time per year for each planet with the exception of Mars, which is on a 26 month cycle. And so whenever you hear that, you know, a planet is an opposition and retrograde, like, that's what that means, essentially, is that the Earth is in between the Sun and that planet. It's like a sandwich.

are a lot of planets that are going retrograde in 2024. I have not included any Mercury retrograde on my list because I know that you're going to cover that in a little bit, but planets outside of Mercury that are going to be retrograde this year. Currently, if you are listening to this between May 2nd through October 11th, 2024, Pluto is in retrograde.

this retrograde takes place in Aquarius and Capricorn. And Pluto usually retrogrades every year for about five to six months at a time. However, this will be the last time that Pluto retrogrades into the sign of Capricorn occurring around September 1st for the next 250 years. One of them was like December through January, and then the other one ended in April. So I didn't include those dates because we've already gotten past those and we just don't want to think about them anymore. But we will talk about the other two that we have this year.

So Mercury retrograde, when we think about Mercury, in Greek mythology, Mercury was the official messenger of the ancient gods and goddesses, and as such governed communication. He wore winged sandals and a winged hat that gave him the ability to travel quickly.

Mercury as a planet has the fastest orbit of all the planets within the solar system, and it takes only 88 days to fully orbit the sun, so less than three months.

When Mercury is in retrograde, it appears to travel backwards across the sky, like Sam was talking about earlier, like the way that it like appears that it's like going backwards, but we're actually just like going faster past each other, essentially. So like listening, writing, reading, speaking, et cetera.

Retrograde's end is followed by a short shadow period too, like this is a period of adjustment that can last up to a couple weeks. And just like as an interesting tidbit, in medicine, mercury is associated with the nervous system, the brain, the respiratory system, the thyroid, and the sense organs.

So how do you handle when Mercury is in retrograde? The best thing that you can do when Mercury is in retrograde is to try and remain flexible, patient, and understanding. In terms of the travel piece, try to allow yourself extra time for travel. Avoid negotiating or signing new contracts if you aren't 100% certain of their terms.

You cannot just like stop your life every time Mercury goes into retrograde because again, this is happening every less than 90 days. So try to be aware of these time frames, plan ahead and have backup plans. Remember that others may have short tempers and that miscommunication is more likely to happen during this time. Retrograde occurring in Libra means that you should limit purchases and representation of beauty, grace, charm, and diplomacy in your life will likely be out of balance. Mercury retrograde in Scorpio is said to be a time when emotions rule, not common sense. You should avoid affairs of the heart during this time and guard your secrets closely.

The suggestion is that you reschedule your trips, but if you don't, expect delays, lines, and even losing your sense of direction. And lastly, if mercury goes into retrograde while in Capricorn, it said that you should avoid buying, selling, or renting real estate, and you should also expect problems with paperwork, packing, and movers.

The one in August is going to occur in Virgo, which, as you said, is going to bring about challenging situations in the workplace. Love that.
