TikTok Drama: Aaron from Ghost Adventures

00:00:46
Speaker
did you see that tech talk i sent you of aaron from ghost hunter ghost adventures whatever it's called in court reading his letter it was he's like sobbing the entire time he's reading about like how he thought he found the love of his life and then He found out she was cheating on him with multiple men and that because he loved her so much, he kept trying to like work it out with her and then like to find out that she was trying to have him killed and like what that's done to his mental health. And yeah, it is so heartbreaking. That is so fucking sad. Like to have that happen to anybody, like I don't care who you are. That's fucking awful.
00:01:30
Speaker
But to have it happen to one of the most when you watch Ghost Adventures, you can just tell that this man is, like, very authentic. He's very nice, very down to earth, and to have it happen to him, it's just awful. So sad. So sad. I literally sent it to you. I think I sent it to you with, like, crying emojis, and I was just like, this is heartbreaking. I'm going to have to watch it after we record because this that is so sad. Like, I hope that she, like,
00:01:59
Speaker
I mean, not that I wish ill on other people, but like kar's karma is a bitch. Yeah. So you can see her cause she's off to the side standing in her little jail uniform in handcuffs and she's like crying. And I'm like, no one feels bad for You don't deserve cry. Yeah.
00:02:17
Speaker
Dry those tears. You're just mad you got caught. Like you were literally considering murder.

Ghostly Experiences with Benjamin

00:02:22
Speaker
Benjamin said witchcraft. Oh, Sassy boy.
00:02:29
Speaker
ah i if if you didn't listen to last week's episode we um have started like every so often like whenever we're doing ah recordings we will open up our ghost ah little apps that we have and tiffany's ghost benjamin is wild He's sassy.
00:02:48
Speaker
He's sassy boy. He turns my lights off. He turns my computer screens off. And he like makes comments about it when I call him out. He will like, like last, what last week when we were we recording, he kept flickering my second screen out, which is the one that I use for our recording screen.
00:03:06
Speaker
And I was like, knock it off. And he just said, screen. Yeah, I know. Yeah, I heard. Yeah. Leave me alone. yeah Knock it off and turn my lights off. He told me I was triggering and annoying. Yeah.
00:03:22
Speaker
He's a sassy boy. ah He makes me laugh. We fight all the time. yeah I just love that. So he has told me that I'm ungodly. um he mentioned being a priest or something about a priest very early on. um So it is funny for him to say witchcraft as we're wrapping up.
00:03:45
Speaker
our intros and outros to this episode where we say witchcraft multiple times i like wait a second I wasn't paying attention shit before what is this um at the stake I don't know what time period Benjamin is from but he is very very godly yeah and you you should ask him like hey put it out there yeah Benjamin do you hear that what time period are you from sir He'll let us know.
00:04:16
Speaker
But anyway, yeah. we're not We're not talking about the sad outcome of Aaron from Ghost Adventures marriage or Benjamin, my beefing ghost.
00:04:29
Speaker
No. What are we talking about today?

Deep Dive into Blood and Menstrual Magic

00:04:33
Speaker
We have a very interesting episode today on blood magic and menstrual magic and kind of talking about some of the misconceptions and and whatnot and how to practice. yeah so And I will say this is an episode that has been like, what, like years in the making. Yeah.
00:04:54
Speaker
Oh, yeah. Since the first season. Yeah. It's been like on our radar, in our thought process, and we just never felt that we were ready to really jump into like the depth what this needed. here we are. We ready. Here we are.
00:05:11
Speaker
we are ready And it's not even like, I will say too, like I could have kept, I had to physically stop myself from researching because there is just so much that this may just be a part one because there's so much. So if you're listening to this and you are a depth and ah adept in like adept yeah adept and blood magic and menstrual magic, and you're like, you weren't even scratching the surface. We know, we know. So- so yeah There might be a part two or three or just keep a lookout. And if you want more information about this, let us know so that we can do deeper dives on some of this stuff. i definitely felt that when I started my research because, I mean, you obviously started your research way ahead of mine.
00:05:55
Speaker
And you had yours like ready to go. And I started looking at it and I was like, okay, let's see where we can go with this. And then it would be like, I would like write in all of this stuff and then I'd be like, this is way too much for this one point.
00:06:09
Speaker
would have condense it down and condense it down because like at the end of the day, we're not trying to make you guys sit through three-hour podcast episodes.
00:06:21
Speaker
It's just Yeah, it's a lot. Yeah. Yeah. And I will say too, like whenever this first kind of came up on our radar, it was back in like season one and we had mentioned something about a spell where you take your menstrual blood and you use it on your doorknobs.
00:06:37
Speaker
yeah And um I remember we had, and I think it was an email or maybe it was an Instagram message came through from a listener who listened to that and was like, hey, you know, really...
00:06:49
Speaker
really you should do a little bit more research on like menstrual magic and I'd love to be on the podcast or whatnot. And we've since reached out to um that listener, but they haven't gone back to us. So we thought, cause at first we were like, well, this would be a great podcast episode to bring in somebody who does use menstrual magic or blood magic in their practice.
00:07:11
Speaker
But um unfortunately we weren't able to get a response back from them on to be included on this episode. But If you are somebody who uses menstrual magic or menstrual blood and just, or just blood in general in your magical practices and you would like to talk to us about it, we would love to talk to you about it.
00:07:32
Speaker
so Yeah. We are always like so open because a lot of I mean, Sam and I have very specific practices. And so a lot of times when we cover topics like this, this isn't something I've ever done myself. So I have to go and you know, research thoroughly and like read through a bunch of stuff to be able to feel comfortable talking about it.
00:07:57
Speaker
And so like, if it's these niche topics, I would just love if we had somebody that is like, well versed and well practiced in it. Because not that I'm like, oh, you sit here and you do our podcast, but I feel like it would just be so interesting to have that like learned perspective versus me going out and you going out and like reading and reading and reading about this topic and then being like, okay, this is what we learned.
00:08:24
Speaker
Right. Yeah. Yep. And so in that way too, like we can ask you questions about different nuances in your practice. And, yeah you know, so I, you know, I am very intrigued by this. And oftentimes whenever we do research different magical practices that say we never had done before, it inspires us to actually incorporate those into our own practices.
00:08:51
Speaker
So, and this is one of them where I'm just like, I would absolutely do this. don't have a period, so... This is not something I can practice.
00:09:03
Speaker
Just, you know, it's Prick your finger. I don't know. Squeeze a little. Beep. So I guess going into like the a brief little intro and a why, like why we're talking about

Historical and Cultural Perspectives on Blood Magic

00:09:19
Speaker
this. So blood magic is one of the most controversial forms of magic, but it's often very misunderstood.
00:09:25
Speaker
And we're hoping that this episode brings a little bit more light and information about blood magic, and especially as it relates to menstrual magic. Blood magic is rooted in ancient traditions and practices, and at its core, it's the belief that blood is life and that life contains immense power.
00:09:44
Speaker
Blood has often been seen as a link between a practitioner and the spiritual and physical worlds, allowing them to tap into that energy. And that's something that we see today as well.
00:09:54
Speaker
So as far as historical and cultural perspectives, there are a lot. And there's like, I've only mentioned a few, but if you go to our show notes and you look at some of the um references that we have there, there is one particular where it has like literally So like probably 20 or 30 different cultural practices around the world tied to blood magic. So just know that I've only included a few and that's because of time's sake, because this is going to be ah very, i mean, hopefully it's not going to be that long, but it is probably going to be a longer episode. Blood
00:10:32
Speaker
was sacred in ancient magic. And throughout many cultures throughout history, blood was believed to hold magical properties that connected us to the earth, the cosmos, and to past lives. Blood was seen as the essence of life and that it carried the soul's energy. And it has long been used in rituals and sacrifices,
00:10:50
Speaker
to draw protective sigils, and it has been a common belief that blood allows us to tap into raw power. So some Native American tribes believe that bloodlines carry spiritual responsibilities, and in Chinese medicine, blood was referred to as...
00:11:04
Speaker
um the life force that governs your health and vitality. In Europe, certain royal families believe that divine blood, quote unquote, made them more powerful and connected to spirit.
00:11:16
Speaker
And as we know, though, that didn't bode well for some of those families, like the Habsburgs families, like maybe they should have like- spaced out that blood a little bit. i don't know. Branched out a little bit. Yeah, branched out, added some like branches to their family tree as opposed to like a circle.
00:11:32
Speaker
What is this, Game of Thrones? Basically, yeah. Ancient Egyptians believed that offering blood to the gods would appease them and maintain cosmic balance.
00:11:43
Speaker
And in ancient Mayan cultures, they believed that by using bloodletting, their leaders could communicate with gods and secure prosperity for their people. And then also I was reading about this and I thought this was really interesting.
00:11:56
Speaker
So I found a tie between blood type and influences they have on different aspects of your personality. So in certain cultures, they say that Blood type can indicate your personality, strengths, and maybe even spiritual gifts.
00:12:10
Speaker
And in some Japanese traditions, blood type is believed to shape someone's personality and it's linked to different elemental forces and esoteric traditions. And they also believe that your blood type influences how you think, feel, and interact with the world.
00:12:27
Speaker
And so then I found this article on blood types and magical power. So I thought just very briefly, there's so much more on this, but I just pulled out some of the highlights um related to each blood type because I thought it was interesting. And I'm curious know if you know what your blood type is. i do. And I'm reading it right now and I'm like, oh. ah i Because I'm just like, when I was going through this I was like, I bet you anything this is Tiffany's blood type. So I i hope that we're on the same page.
00:12:54
Speaker
Which one do you think I am? I think that you are, hold on, because there's so many. um I think that you are ab b negative. No.
00:13:05
Speaker
No? Oh, man. Okay. I'm A positive. Me too. Twins. Yeah. I feel like it's the most common blood type.
00:13:16
Speaker
But I was reading it and I was like, oh. Yeah. Being a little herbalist. and Yeah. Yeah. but So and I could see that too with herbalism as well. So yeah for A positive, we are known as the healer. So this is supposed to have deep connections with healing energy and whether it be physical, emotional, or spiritual.
00:13:37
Speaker
And people with A blood types are drawn to helping others. And they're said to be intuitive and great at divination and dream interpretation. But it's said that they absorb energy from those around them very easily. So they need to be cautious about setting boundaries.
00:13:54
Speaker
And I can test for that. So um a negative is said to be the empath. And these are people who have heightened sensitivity to emotions, energy, and the unseen world.
00:14:07
Speaker
They are said to have a gift for clairvoyance, premonitions, and sensing spirits. And they can also read emotions and are connected to lunar energy, meaning that working with the moon cycles can be a very powerful tool for them.
00:14:20
Speaker
But they also absorb the energy of environments around them. So they need to be mindful of that and maybe utilize shielding spells or other protection methods to help them protect their energy.
00:14:32
Speaker
B-positive blood types are known as the visionaries, and they're known for creativity and their ability to manifest. They are charismatic and are great at glamour magic and persuasion spells, but they need to be careful about their thoughts and intentions as they can manifest whatever they are focusing on very quickly.
00:14:50
Speaker
B-negative people are known as the rebel mage, and their magic thrives on breaking barriers, rewriting rules, and are especially adept at chaos magic and sigil work.
00:15:02
Speaker
They are unconventional and not afraid to challenge the norms, and their energy can be electric and working with the weather could be a good step for these witches. Traditional magic systems may not appeal to them, and they may need to spend time really focusing on creating their own rituals and spells.
00:15:21
Speaker
AB positive people are known as the mystic. This is the rarest blood type and those who have it feel like old souls. They're attuned to spiritual knowledge, past lives, and the unseen, and they can easily connect with light and dark forces and are supposed to excel at tarot, astrology, and scrying.
00:15:40
Speaker
They are also a blood type that need to practice strong shielding as well because they are so open to energy and the emotions of others. So the next one is AB negative, and these are the alchemists.
00:15:53
Speaker
They have the ability to transform energy and situations, and their magic is deeply tied to transformation. They are drawn to wisdom and rituals that combine science and spirituality, and they excel in potion making and herbal magic.
00:16:08
Speaker
And they're also very skilled at shadow work. So they can sense shifts in energy very easily. So they need to be careful about overanalyzing situations. And this is this is the blood type I thought you were. Because I was like, I could see you being like super adept at shadow work as well. And then like not just the herbal stuff, but like with all of it.
00:16:29
Speaker
Yeah. I feel like the shadow work portion is probably my weakest. ah I'm like, no, thank you. And then I'm like, fine, I'll do it. Then I'm like, hate it.
00:16:41
Speaker
ah hate it Yeah. I hate it, but also I have to do it. And which is wild because my perception of you is that like, I feel like you'd be really gifted at it. Ugh. I hate it. Interesting. But I grew up, I grew up like we don't express our emotions, you know So like my brothers and I are not very good at that.
00:17:01
Speaker
Which only means you need to do it more. And it's gross. And I hate it. Yes. So O positive people are known as the protector and they excel at defensive magic and shielding themselves and others from harm.
00:17:18
Speaker
They will find warding spells, talismans, et cetera, very easily to use. And they are drawn to ancestral magic and working within their lineage. within their lineage However, they must be mindful of their emotions and anger because they can affect the energy around them very easily.
00:17:37
Speaker
And then lastly, oh negative. This is the primal sorcerer. So O negative is the universal donor, and these people have a connection to raw magic. They're able to draw energy easily from the elements, nature, and the universe itself.
00:17:51
Speaker
And they're said to be natural shamans that can tap into animal, ancestral, and cosmic energies very easily. They often feel their way through a spell as opposed to like actually reading something word for word and and going from a direction.
00:18:06
Speaker
They just need to be careful not to burn out as their energy can be overwhelming sometimes. So outside of that, just in general, blood is a symbol of life and power. It's not just a substance in our bodies. It's believed that it is imbued with the essence of a person or the creature that it comes from.
00:18:26
Speaker
It's a conductor of magical energy. And so when offering blood in a ritual, it's like offering a piece of your life force. So lending strength to the magic. And also when we're thinking about the sacrificial portion of using blood in a ritual, offering blood is considered a commitment.
00:18:45
Speaker
And it's one that you are willing to part with a vital part of yourself in exchange for your desired results.

Positive Cultural Beliefs about Menstruation

00:18:53
Speaker
So let's talk a little bit about menstruation and some of the positive and negative beliefs of that. So as far as negative beliefs, the May Inga tribe in Papua New Guinea believe that if a man touched period blood, they would get sick, stupid, or end up with darker skin. And in some cases even die. my God. um I don't know why this just makes me think Anchorman.
00:19:19
Speaker
I was like, bears can smell the menstruation. I don't like that whole scene. That's up in New Guinea. Yeah. and yeah I would just say that I'm on my period all the time to like don't keep me safe.
00:19:35
Speaker
You know what I mean? I'm literally bleeding. Thank you. Do you want to see it? you might die. Yeah. so Ancient Greeks believed that if a the first period comes late, it would cause blood clots to form around the heart and the uterus to wander throughout the body, causing a suicidal depression.
00:19:57
Speaker
Like, can you imagine? Like, going on trip. It's going on an adventure. Yeah. Like, what the hell? It just attaches itself and, like, scurries along.
00:20:08
Speaker
gonna go see what the toes are doing. Right. And it's like, were the ovaries, like, the feet, and it was propelling it along? Like, I'm... I mean, I don't know. so i mean visuals.
00:20:20
Speaker
Yeah. And in medieval times, there was a belief that if the penis oh, I guess probably trigger warning. Not necessarily trigger warning, but like explicit warning. We're going to be talking about this shit. We probably should have done that at the start. Yeah. Oh, well.
00:20:36
Speaker
um If children are listening, maybe don't have them listen to this episode. Now that we're 25 in. Whoops. Oopsie. It was a belief that if the penis touched period blood, it would burst into flames.
00:20:53
Speaker
And if a child just happened to be conceived during menstruation, it would be possessed, deformed, or with red hair. This where genders come Yeah. Yeah.
00:21:06
Speaker
I ah love some of the shit that comes out of medieval times, like the beliefs. Right. You had to be high when you thought of this because there's no other excuse. Well, could you imagine every time a ginger baby is born, they're like looking at the dad like, first of all, gross. I know what you were doing.
00:21:27
Speaker
Second of all, how was that burn on your penis? Yeah. Right. And also like I'm sitting here thinking too, like how scary would it be for a woman? Like if you were like gave birth to a redheaded child and your husband was like, um I did not have sex with you when you were menstruating or like, did you keep this from me? Who did you sleep with? You know what I mean? yeah so like, I'm just like, oh my God, oh like so many like funny and also scary. Yeah. Terrifying. Coming out of this.
00:21:57
Speaker
yeah um but During medieval times as well, menstruation was seen as possession by the devil. Because of course it was. Of course it was. Yeah. So in some communities, young girls were beaten with sticks until the evil spirits left their bodies, aka until they were done. So for days. think As if you weren't feeling terrible enough because yeah periods can be painful.
00:22:21
Speaker
Like the fuck? Now I'm going to be beaten too? That's what you get for allowing the devil to- possess you yeah awful and in the quran they there is passages that warn men to stay away from women when they are on their periods and then some christians and catholics believe that menstruation is a painful reminder of the punishment of eve's sin in the garden of eden that's what we were taught in church yeah
00:22:52
Speaker
That's what they taught Sunday school. So as a child. Because everything is a woman's fault. Yes. Of course. Yes. Moving on to a little bit more happier note, the positive beliefs surrounding this.
00:23:08
Speaker
um In many indigenous and earth-based traditions, menstruation was seen as sacred. Some Native American cultures had what they called moon lodges or menstrual huts, which is so precious.
00:23:22
Speaker
And it wasn't meant to isolate, but to provide a space for rest, reflection, and spiritual connection. Yeah. Menstruating individuals were believed to be especially intuitive or connected to the spirit world during this time.
00:23:36
Speaker
These spaces honored that wisdom, creating room for dreaming, healing, and communal bonding. The rituals and practices vary from tribe to tribe, but a common theme amongst them is that this is both a sacred and powerful time for women.
00:23:53
Speaker
The next one I'm going to talk about Could be fictional, could be true. I'm not 100% sure on this. um i went to several different sources and it was very back and forth. And the ones that were claiming that this was like a historical thing weren't necessarily, not that they weren't reputable sources, but they weren't, they were more like blogs or just this random article in a magazine kind of thing.
00:24:22
Speaker
So there's an idea that's known as the red tent. And from what I could gather, is that it's drawn from a work of well-researched historical fiction that was also titled The Red Tent by Anita Diamant.
00:24:39
Speaker
And she claimed that in her research, there was no historical evidence that actually pointed to the use of red tents for menstruating women in ancient Jewish traditions.
00:24:50
Speaker
but that there were mentionings in historical texts that were very leading for that belief. In these texts, it was believed that menstruating individuals observed periods of separation tied to ritual purity laws,
00:25:06
Speaker
But there are also modern red tent movements that are being used to reclaim space surrounding the outdated ritual purity laws to make them more empowering and less shameful.
00:25:18
Speaker
And these tents offer sanctuary for story sharing, rest, ritual, and emotional support. And their response to cultural silence around menstruation,
00:25:30
Speaker
turning it into something sacred and communal. But to like kind of further fall down this rabbit hole, this practice is also believed to be practiced in African and Asian cultures as well, where these like tents were believed to be a place for um connection and reverence and often used as a sacred time for reflection and community healing during like the menstrual cycle.
00:25:56
Speaker
So there wasn't like Solid concrete evidence that this was an actual thing, but there was like mentionings of it in history. So I, I don't know. It's worth mentioning.
00:26:10
Speaker
But also I'm not 100% sure there. And then in many magical traditions, menstrual blood is considered powerful. It symbolizes fertility, release, and transformation.
00:26:23
Speaker
Some practitioners use it in ritual offerings to connect with personal power and cyclical energy. Rather than being something hidden, it's honored as a source of life force, an intimate link between body, spirit, and intention.
00:26:38
Speaker
So moving kind of into like... Menstrual magic today. Some practitioners use a drop of menstrual blood to anoint candles or seal spell jars. That's like a tongue twister, especially when the intention is deeply personal because it's literally part of your life force. It can add a potent intimate energy into your magic, especially for protection, empowerment, and transformation spells.
00:27:09
Speaker
Menstrual blood is often used in fertility magic, not just for like physical conception, but for birthing ideas, projects, or new um versions of yourself.
00:27:21
Speaker
It embodies creative power, so adding it to spells focused on growth, abundance, or manifestation can strengthen the energy connection between intention and outcome.
00:27:33
Speaker
And some people use menstrual blood to charge sigils, adding a layer of personal energy that like quote unquote seals the intent. It can also be offered to ancestors or goddesses tied to the womb to blood or like the feminine cycle like Hekate, Inanna, or Kali as a sacred and powerful offering rooted in both reverence and reciprocity.
00:28:03
Speaker
Yeah. And so blood is ah direct magical link to your life force and your power and your lineage, as we said before. But like especially with menstrual blood, it is your energy. It is your essence. It is your power.
00:28:18
Speaker
And we need to really... tie back into that and like and understand that as people who menstruate, you can use that power.
00:28:29
Speaker
like That is yours to use with. So additionally, Minstrel blood or just blood in general can be used in rituals or spells as a protective barrier to ward off malevolent forces or negative energies.
00:28:44
Speaker
And blood in these rituals are used to repel things like death, disease, or harm. And for this practice, you can create a blood circle or a boundary using your own blood and marking the perimeter of a sacred space with drops of blood.
00:28:57
Speaker
The blood could also be used to draw sigils for protection or used as an offering for protective spirits to like appease them or to safeguard your house or your home.
00:29:09
Speaker
And then ah since we're talking about blood and we're talking about not just blood magic, but menstruation magic as well and menstrual blood, it's important to really think about the health, consent, safety, and and privacy as it relates to this type of a practice.

And so it's important that if you're wanting to engage in blood magic in your practice, that you're doing it safely. It's important to get informed consent from you know, anyone that you're working with and to be self-aware when it comes to working with blood.
00:29:39
Speaker
We don't want you harming yourself or others, and we also don't want you exposing anyone you may practice with to any bloodborne pathogens. So you also need to make sure that you will if you are working with others,
00:29:52
Speaker
And you have consent for them to either provide blood or be in the room for your ritual that you also make sure that there are not any elements of coercion in place as well. They need to know exactly what they're signing up for. Do not put like your menstrual blood in somebody's fucking pasta to feed them.
00:30:12
Speaker
you know under the guise of like a love spell or an attraction spell. You know what I mean? like Just yeah be careful. And then also while using animal blood may have been common for our ancestors- really it's not super ethical in today's society to harm living beings because an animal cannot consent for you to use their blood.
00:30:33
Speaker
They cannot do that. So just don't do that, please. um And I know that there are some articles online about like ethically you know ethically um acquiring animal blood for your... Just don't. like Maybe just don't.
00:30:49
Speaker
And There are also many different substitutes for blood. Like if you're specifically wanting to use animal blood, there are many substitutes for blood that you can use as well, such as red wine, red ink. And then there are certain plants that you can make a resin out of that basically it's like the same type of thing. So just FYI on that.

Aligning Magic with Menstrual Cycles

00:31:10
Speaker
Okay, so moving on, we're going to talk about lunar cycles, magic, and the body. Many people will notice their cycle sinking with the moon. So bleeding on either the new or full moon, um where bleeding on the new moon is often called a white moon cycle, traditionally linked to fertility and turning inward, which Bleeding on the full moon is known as a red moon cycle, and it's associated with healers, wisdom, keepers, or those whose energy flows outward during their bleed.
00:31:43
Speaker
Neither is better, and they both just kind of reflect different energetic paths and phases of life or intention. Yeah. And like with mine too, like mine has changed. Like I used to be like a white moon, have a white moon cycle. And then now like within this last year, i now have a red moon cycle.
00:32:02
Speaker
So like it can change over time as well. And I think a lot of it has, I mean, I could deal like do, it could have an effect on the people you're associating with and like you cycle syncing together, but it could, I believe that it's done that for a reason because of magical things.
00:32:20
Speaker
situations. So I mean, everything happens for a reason. Yeah. It's all magic. And then if we want to take it a step further, we can look at like the different archetypes like the maiden, the mother, the enchantress, the crone, and how they relate to your cycle phases.
00:32:38
Speaker
So each phase of our cycle can be linked to one of these archetypes and it reflects the energy we're likely to embody during that time. These archetypes capture not just physical shifts, but also the emotional and personality traits that often rise to the surface in each phase. so active menstruation is linked to the crone, and she's sometimes also known as the dreamer.
00:33:06
Speaker
and this is a wise, intuitive time where you're just like ready for a release. The follicular phase, which is pre-ovulation, the maiden, also known as the rebel. And this is a curious, energized time where you're just ready to start new things.
00:33:24
Speaker
um Ovulation is linked to the mother, who is also known as the queen. This is a very like nurturing, vibrant, and magnetic time. And the luteal phase, which is post-ovulation, is linked to the enchantress. And this archetype is also sometimes referred to as the keeper or the wild woman. and this is a very creative, intense, and reflective time.
00:33:50
Speaker
So these archetypes help us connect more deeply to the natural rhythm and energy of each phase, both physically and magically. Another way that you can tie the phases of your cycle into your practice is by tracing your cycle for magical timing.
00:34:07
Speaker
So charting your cycle gives you powerful insight, not just into health, but also into your own intuitive magic. You can align spells, intentions, or rituals with your internal phases.
00:34:20
Speaker
So active bleeding is ah time to release. It's great for practicing cord cuttings, shadow work, or just letting go of things.
00:34:31
Speaker
Your follicular phase is about new beginnings. So this is perfect for setting intentions or starting creative projects. Ovulation is potent for manifestation.
00:34:42
Speaker
Your energy is like magnetic during this time and it's very expansive. The luteal phase supports reflection and refinement and it's ideal for divination or dream work.
00:34:54
Speaker
If this practice sparks your interest, There's plenty of tools that can help you get started. So there's things like moon journaling apps, cycle trackers, or even just like simple Google search to like guide your first steps.
00:35:09
Speaker
um A couple that I came across quite often were Moonly and Moon Pro. um Both were mentioned in several threads that I came across during my research. Obviously, like do some research, see what ones offer what you're looking for. you know, we're huge advocates for doing your own research and using what calls to you.
00:35:30
Speaker
i don't think like any one singular app is going to fit every single person. So really, you just kind of need to look at them and see, does this fit like what I'm trying to do what?
00:35:42
Speaker
how I'm trying to track things. And then moving on to this last little piece that we're going to go over. This is a very taboo topic. And it's not always one that's like met openly.
00:35:57
Speaker
i know even when like back in season one, when we had covered the episode where this was mentioned, we were both kind of like, Ooh, that's a little odd. Yeah. know yeah like i think you're like that yeah Yeah. So it's just I feel like it's so ingrained in our society to like turn away from things like this.
00:36:19
Speaker
So it's really just important to recognize that like not all women menstruate. And not all who menstruate are women. So we have to understand that trans men, non-binary folks, gender diverse people may also have cyclical relationships with their bodies that could be tied to this topic.
00:36:40
Speaker
And menstrual magic is personal and it's adaptable. So whether someone embraces it as a womb-based magic, energetic cycles, or symbolic ritual, there's room for every body.
00:36:53
Speaker
and identity in this work. So honoring the diversity of experiences with blood is part of reclaiming like the sacredness of this topic. Yeah. and And additionally, other ways to reclaim the sacredness is to reclaim what was demonized. So talking about menstrual magic publicly or menstruation publicly, menstruation is normal and a completely natural process that our bodies undergo monthly.
00:37:21
Speaker
And it allows those of us who menstruate to create life. And so a lot of this taboo stuff that we see is relating to menstruation. If you like peel back the layers of it really at the heart, it's just those who menstruate create life. and throughout history, those who don't menstruate, they have felt some kind of way about those who can create life.
00:37:47
Speaker
And That is why we have this patriarchal society that we do have. And that is all I'm going to say on that topic. Because that's at the heart of it what I feel is um true.
00:38:01
Speaker
So i would also want you as listeners to reflect on internalized shame or any body disconnection that you have related to blood magic and menstruation.
00:38:13
Speaker
So if you have children or you have children in your life, like whether that be like a niece or a nephew or whoever, allow for open discussions about periods, how they're not embarrassing.
00:38:25
Speaker
And educate yourself and those around you on the topic of menstruation. So start young. And when you do have children, especially those who will menstruate, understand the connection between your cycle and your mental well-being as well. So something that like I didn't even know about until I was an adult was like PMDD and how like your mental well-being can change during and like leading up to these different cycles in our life. Yeah.
00:38:53
Speaker
Yeah. be aware of that as well. We have to reclaim the power, right? And we have to be able, I feel like we have to be able to like talk about these things too. Like just even having these conversations, most people aren't comfortable with.
00:39:10
Speaker
And so being able to just openly talk about it is just another way to like reclaim that power or too. So yeah. Like talking about it, knowing that it's normal and natural, like Especially considering if you think about a period, it is like four to seven days and you have it every month.
00:39:29
Speaker
Every like so every year you're having it happen 12 times. Yeah. Like that is a an entire week of about every month we're just going to pretend like it doesn't exist.
00:39:40
Speaker
Yeah. Talk about it. It's normal and natural. Also, your penis is not going to catch on fire. Exactly. and over yourself. Mm-hmm.
00:39:52
Speaker
Yeah.
