And another thing. And another thing. And another thing. And another thing. And another thing. Welcome to another episode of And Another Thing, the podcast that continues to set the bar in the world of podcasts.

Cultural Reflections from Japan

00:00:26
Speaker
My name is Jody Jenkins. My name is Tony Clement.
00:00:30
Speaker
And you are back after another globe trotting session. Yes. I was in Japan for two weeks. So thanks to our listeners for waiting for me to get back so we can do another podcast. But, uh, it's a family holiday with my wife and my daughter and, uh, got to see a lot of Japan. It was, it was quite good. Yeah. I enjoyed my two weeks, two weeks is a long, like, so literally 14 days. Yeah, literally. Yeah. Yes. Uh, two, two weeks, a Saturday to Saturday. Yeah. That's right.
00:01:00
Speaker
And what made you go two weeks? Cause you're, were you like, you know, we're going a distance. We might as well make the most of it. Yeah. And, uh, you know, I kinda, for this journey, I just stayed in the back seat. My wife and my daughter organized the whole thing. So whatever they wanted to do, however long they wanted to do it, I was there for the ride. Yeah. I saw, I saw some of your posts and.
00:01:25
Speaker
It looks pretty cool. I mean, I don't know if I'd ever go over there, but like just the, there's just the historic angle. There's the technology cutting edge stuff. It's just like a.
00:01:35
Speaker
It's like a collaboration of two different worlds, really. Yeah, I mean, obviously, I found it fascinating. I mean, we saw a lot of traditional Buddhist and Shinto temples. The cherry and plum blossoms were out, so that was just a beautiful time of the year to go just for that. So you're right, you had the traditional and then
00:01:59
Speaker
Our travel agent had us for five, five nights in downtown Tokyo.
00:02:06
Speaker
in the Shinjuku region for people who know Tokyo. And we were right in the entertainment district with like neon and Godzilla and karaoke bars. And, you know, all of the pop culture, you know, anime and people in cosplay walking the streets like it was really almost too much Japanese pop culture per square meter. But it was interesting for sure.
00:02:33
Speaker
And you could probably buy soft shell crabs that are still alive in a vending machine. You know, and things were pretty cheap there. Like, you know, the food was quite inexpensive, I found. So we did do a lot of sushi and sashimi and stuff like that. But we went to a restaurant that had a conveyor belt. So you just sat in your
00:02:56
Speaker
in your seat and the, the sushi just kept wheeling around, you know, and you just picked out what you wanted, you know, and that kind of thing. So yeah, it was, it was, it was a lot of fun.

Speaker
Excellent.

Economic Challenges in Canada

00:04:53
Speaker
Now earlier, Tony, you mentioned some of your experiences in Japan and you've talked about the food prices and prices in general being relatively inexpensive, which of course is the opposite of what's happening in Canada right now. I know this week alone, I can't speak for your area, but I'm sure you can maybe comment on it. Maybe it's the same, but I noticed the last couple of days articles popping up in our region being the Quinte region.
00:05:22
Speaker
about gas prices significantly going up. What do you think? And obviously, the carbon tax narrative, the affordability narrative, the price of living narrative, inflation narrative, all those things that the leader of the opposition, Pierre Poliev, has been pushing and definitely continues to gain traction and momentum.
00:05:47
Speaker
Do you think it can still, it'll still last until the next election, whenever that may be? Absolutely. Yeah, absolutely. I have no doubt about that. These problems aren't going away. As, as Pierre Poliev has pointed out, this budget that was just released is an inflationary budget. It's spending, spending, spending, and therefore when government spends like that and borrows to spend like that, that keeps interest rates high.
00:06:14
Speaker
And also adds to inflation, which is exactly what's happening. So although the government is trying to say we're tackling housing and we're tackling cost of living issues, they're actually doing the opposite with their policies. So, yeah, I don't I don't think we're out of the woods by any stretch. And I think that certainly for the next few months, the interest rates are going to stay where they are and certainly not get significantly lower.
00:06:41
Speaker
And yeah, gas prices I filled up last night at $1.54. Yes. Driving around today in Muskoka, it was like $1.72 or something like that. Yeah, then it's jumping up all over the place. And it's interesting, you mentioned the budget. I saw an article the other day where
00:06:59
Speaker
It's a little telling, I think. Now, I'm sure there's some, I don't want to say bad blood, but there obviously was a rift at one point with this individual, but former finance minister, Bill Morneau, slams the budget. So, I mean, that's not good, right? Yeah. And he did it on the inclusion rate for capital gains. Yeah. Yeah. No, for sure. And it makes sense. Yeah. Because like, you know, when he was finance, the bureaucrats at finance always were trying to get the inclusion rate
00:07:28
Speaker
Increase because it's they think it's a an easy way to gain revenue although i think it'll be ultimately self defeating as people try to find ways to not be dinged by cri to that extent but he always rejected that as finance minister.
00:07:46
Speaker
Obviously, Kristia Freeland making the best of the situation said, no, we're doing this for the right reasons. We want to dump on the 0.1% who take advantage of this rule. Well, I think it's going to actually.
00:08:03
Speaker
The net is cast a lot wider than that. You'd be surprised. Small business owners selling their businesses. You know, if a family cottage in Muskoka goes for sale, it'll be dinged for this capital gain tax rise. So it affects a lot of people in a lot of different ways. But, you know, there has been some commentary, Jodi, that this is exactly part of the Liberal Plan. They want Pierre Poliev talking about
00:08:33
Speaker
this this capital gains tax rise rather than talking about the carbon tax. And as far as I can tell, Pierre is not falling for the bait. He continues to talk about carbon taxes and he's talking about inflation and cost of living issues. So I don't think the liberals are going to accomplish even their political goals on this, let alone their revenue goals. Yeah, it's just a it's just a it's just a strange way of approaching and tackling
00:09:01
Speaker
you know tackling the issues at hand and I know that you know obviously the liberals that are out there touting it talk about you know how the progressives are you know proud of this budget they put forward it's just you know just keeps every time I hear things about
00:09:16
Speaker
You know, even that capital gains issue and even some of the comments that Bill Moore no made, I just, there is, you know, some people won't agree with this, but there is little to no incentive to be successful in this country from a federal perspective. It's, it's the, actually the better you, the more you, the better you do, like from a financial and success perspective, the more, the more you are punished in a certain, I don't know. It just seems backwards to me.
00:09:44
Speaker
Yeah. And I saw this graph recently, Jodi, even before the budget came out that showed that since since the Harper years when I was Treasury Board president to today, the number of federal public servants has increased by a hundred thousand positions. OK. Yeah. If you look at if that was a line graph, it would be going up and to the right. The number of private sector jobs created is a lot, you know, a lot less
00:10:14
Speaker
uh, over that, uh, over time as a percentage of the population, I suppose. And interestingly, the number of self-employed people in this country, uh, is either static or gone down. I can't remember. Yeah, no, that doesn't, that doesn't surprise me. And you know what it reminds me of? I can't remember what the event was. And I mean, you, you would have probably heard her say this before. And I'm sure it's not her line, but anyway, Lisa rate was speaking at an event in Quincy.
00:10:40
Speaker
This is years ago. It's going back to like the 2015 federal elections. I'm pretty sure it was around the time when I was a candidate. But anyway, she was talking about the differing views in terms of governments being the main two liberal and conservative. And she spoke about how the conservative approach
00:10:59
Speaker
or that mindset is that, look, the government's not gonna make decisions for you. We believe that the private sector, as an example, knows what's best and we're gonna create the environment, the atmosphere for those individuals to succeed, organizations to succeed.
00:11:15
Speaker
Whereas the liberal approach is, no, we know what's best for you. We'll create the jobs, we'll create the opportunities, and we'll tell you how you're going to get there and how you're going to do it. And it's so true. It is absolutely bang on. And I don't know, I'd love to have someone on that disagrees with that.
00:11:35
Speaker
And I'd love to have a discussion with them because I honestly, I don't see how you could argue that, but I'm sure someone could, Mark Gerritsen could probably prove me wrong. Yeah. Well, I think. But try to prove here. But here's the thing. Like they're, they're not even, uh, they're not even, uh, at a point where they're trying to, trying to excuse it. Like they're actually proud of it. Yeah. Yeah. So I've actually seen some commentary by, uh,
00:12:04
Speaker
by those who support the true anons, the people who support Trudeau, no matter what, saying, when Stephen Harper was in power, he cut government too much and he cut taxes too much. All we're doing is right sizing government. So they're not apologizing for it, Jody. They've got a very different vision. The government has to be there to do everything.
00:12:28
Speaker
I know it's unpopular to say this, but this whole school lunches thing, what politician is going to be against kids getting fed? It's smart politically, but A, it has nothing to do with the federal government. B, it means more bureaucracy at the federal level to deliver a program that doesn't exist and that they have no expertise in delivering.
00:12:57
Speaker
It's so bizarre that all they do is find ways to be involved in other people's jurisdictions, and yet the stuff that they're responsible for, like passports and national defense, they don't have any interest in. You know what I mean? Well, it's funny because this region, Quinte specifically, I don't know if you saw, and I'm sure you did, but
00:13:20
Speaker
Um, they were here, the libs were here making that big announcement about, about the defense, uh, spending and increasing the monies going to that, that division or that department. Did you notice that? Did you see that? Trenton was a CMB Trenton. Yeah. Yeah. And then, and then today, uh, sorry, obviously when this podcast comes out, it won't be the day, same day, but I should say this week, uh, another, uh, minister, I think her name is, is it Jenna suds?
00:13:47
Speaker
minister of social services or so I should look it up but
00:13:51
Speaker
She was in Belleville at Loyalist College, making a federal budget announcement and tying that in. So that's that's two high profile announcements within our riding, which makes me wonder, you know, what do they think they have a shot at getting this right back? But it also makes me wonder, because I don't know who the candidate is for the federal election. I should do some looking into it, but I know I'd be interested in knowing who was at that.
00:14:19
Speaker
those announcements and maybe I could tie into it and see, figure out who it's going to be. That is interesting that they, they, cause that's obviously CFB Trenton. Yeah. I mean, that's a very special place and it makes sense for the, uh, for the defense. Yeah, for sure. So Jenna suds is the minister of families, children and social development. So she had a big announcement at loyalist college. I've never even heard of her, you know, I know I had never, she's apparently, uh, what writing?
00:14:48
Speaker
Um, canada, canada Carlton seriously. Yeah. Yes. Wow. No, I've never, I've never heard of her either. Does not ring a bell. I must say.
00:14:58
Speaker
Um, but, uh, yeah, no, they're, uh, they're out selling, selling the budget and, uh, uh, they, you know, this is all for the young people. This is their, their line. Of course, you know, national debts and, uh, high interest rates hurt young people, but they don't talk about that. They just talk about how all of their massive spending is going to be helpful to young people. So anyway, it's in a, you know, politics as usual in Ottawa and, uh, uh, these, these budget events now they're, they don't,
00:15:28
Speaker
They don't have a meaningful impact on the polls, to be honest with you. That's why Trudeau was out before the budget trying to do individual announcements, just trying to set the table a little bit because it used to be the budget was a big national discussion for weeks on end, but it's just not that way anymore, really. Yeah, I did notice that too, is that I didn't see nearly enough, or sorry, nearly the same amount of discussion about it.
00:15:56
Speaker
Again, I'm sure that had to do with the fact that he trotted out most of the stuff in it, like you said, way before they released it officially. It was interesting. Again, at the end of the day, I don't think they can recover. People are upset about the affordability issue and the cost of living. I don't see that leaving anytime soon in terms of discussing it. We started this discussion talking about gas prices.
00:16:25
Speaker
But several days after the budget already, we're not talking about the budget, we're talking about gas prices, which allows Pierre Apollyev to talk about carbon taxes, right? Yeah. So there you go. And yeah, so we'll see where it goes from

Trump's Trial Mention

00:16:42
Speaker
here. Let's quickly touch on American politics. Yeah, I don't even know what to say. Are you going to be watching the trial?
00:16:53
Speaker
I just don't, I, it's interesting. I was with some, some guys the other night and, uh, guys that don't follow politics at all. And to a man, they all now granted small sample. It was like four guys, but to a man, they all said, oh, Trump's winning. No problem. Like it's just, it's funny how it's, I don't know. I just, I just, it's interesting. Very interesting. Yeah, I know. I have a, there's a good line from somebody that's not my, my line, but saying, uh,
00:17:22
Speaker
And this whole thing with the trial and Stormy Daniels, this is the most complicated plot Stormy Daniels has ever been involved in. I thought that was a pretty good line. Oh, my God. The jury selection, which I did not watch, I'm getting the second or third hand, but it's very, very funny. The jury selection, you know, somebody would be picked by by the district attorney and then they'd be cross-examined by the defense attorney for Trump.
00:17:52
Speaker
And the defense attorney would say, are you, you know, what do you think about Donald Trump? Oh, I don't know much about him. I don't really have any biases one way or the other. Oh, what about this tweet you sent out saying that Trump is a criminal and.
00:18:08
Speaker
Oh, I forgot about that. Oh, that. Yeah. Oh, is that the same guy? Yeah, exactly. So anyway, it took him like days and days to get a jury selection done just because of the nonsense because they're trying to find an unbiased jury in Manhattan, which is 15 to one Democrats versus Republicans. Yeah. I mean, it'd be tough to find. It'd be tough. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I don't know. It's it's it's
00:18:36
Speaker
It's interesting times. So, you know, and then Trump, uh, I think one of the days he, he left the courtroom.
00:18:44
Speaker
and went to it. Oh, he went to the site of where some Latino got killed or something by somebody who was released from jail. I'm probably mangling it a little bit, but you get the idea and saying, you know, they should be trying to prosecute this guy, not prosecute me, you know, the perpetrator of this crime anyway. And all these Latinos in downtown New York City were chanting for more years at Donald Trump, like in favor.
00:19:15
Speaker
I don't know. I mean, there's something happening there. There's a method to his madness. Yeah, exactly. Exactly. Hey, can I ask you one question?

Celestial Events and Stargazing

00:19:24
Speaker
Because I was away for the solar eclipse. Did you see the solar eclipse where you were? Yes, we were in the path of totality.
00:19:33
Speaker
And did you see the path of totality? Were you watching? Yeah, it was, yeah, yeah. My kids, they all checked it out and they had the glasses on and they did, you know, they did take them off during the, when it was totally covered and you were, you know, it was safe to take your glasses off at that point. I think in our area, it was like a total of two and a half minutes where you could take off your glasses. Oh, that's pretty good. Yeah, no, my kids didn't.
00:19:57
Speaker
I was still a little leery about that. So I didn't let them look for two and a half minutes. It was more like 20 seconds. Okay. Put the glasses back on, but I will say that it was, it was pretty weird how dark it got. And like, it was, I w it was very weird. I will say that any animals acting strangely or birds stopping to chirp or whatever.
00:20:19
Speaker
Not just a bunch of wolves coming out on the street. No, no, I did. No, I just got cold. Uh, there was some birds, obviously the birds were confused. There's no question. Um, but it was, it was creepy, man. Like how dark it got. And then I could not believe.
00:20:36
Speaker
how just a little sliver when it started to move off being totally covered, how much the light, just how quickly it got light again. It just shows you the power of the sun. It's pretty nutty when you think about it, to be honest. Well, I was very, I mean, as you probably know, I'm an amateur, not an astronomer, but I do like to stargaze. That's my big thing. Oh, I didn't know that. Yeah, I do like to stare up, because in Muskoka, you can see a lot, right?
00:21:06
Speaker
I guess that explains why you named your dog Orion's belt. Yeah, that's right. Or Andromeda or something. But I was very happy that this became such a big thing, right? Like people were really getting excited about this. So I thought that was a good thing. Yeah, it also was a little, I'm not gonna lie, it was nerve wracking because of the unexpected, like there were so many stories coming out about like,
00:21:36
Speaker
the dangerous side of things. It just kind of gets you thinking, but at the same time, it's like, you know, just be smart about stuff.
00:21:43
Speaker
You know, you just can't stare at the sun, right? So you, you were in Japan when that happened then. Yeah. Yeah. And nothing, nothing happened over there. Nothing. Absolute zero. Not in the path at all. Nothing. Okay. Yeah. So yeah, no, it was, it was pretty cool. And then I noticed too, I watched some, some of the television coverage and I realized now that there, I didn't know this was a thing, but I guess I should have figured it out. Like there's eclipse chasers.
00:22:08
Speaker
They talked to a woman, knew this was her fifth total eclipse. I'm like, holy geez. You'd have to be going all over the planet for that. That's right. Yeah, that's right. People take it as a big phenomenon, of course. I just like watching the meteors, the shooting stars. There are times of the summer and winter where there's a number of shooting stars, and I just like seeing them flying across the sky at night, and that's my big thing.
00:22:37
Speaker
I that's how I end with following the planets. So, you know, Jupiter's been quite prominent for the last few months. And there was a time I think it was last year where Jupiter and Saturn were lined up. So that was pretty cool. So I like I like that kind of stuff.
00:22:53
Speaker
Well, I went to the, we were in the, our local, one of the stores retail outlets. But anyway, there was an astrology group there, like our local. Astronomic. I don't know what you call them. Astrology, astronomical, whatever. They have a little club. Okay. Older gentlemen and a couple of older women. Uh, and the one guy had like his, his telescope on display, like just massive. And I said like,
00:23:18
Speaker
Like how much is this thing? And he was telling me a little bit about it and he's like, and I say, yeah, I guess it makes sense. Like, you know, some people have boats and some people have their toys and this is mine, right? Like it was not cheap and it was, it was crazy. Like, and he was going to set that up and watch the eclipse. And I'm like, wow, you're dedicated, man. I mean, one of the things that kind of, uh, that I, I, I've been fascinated by is, you know, uh, in the winter sky, Orion, you mentioned Orion in the winter sky, Orion is quite prominent and it hit stars or,
00:23:48
Speaker
very large and bright. And so generally in the winter, the stars are brighter in the northern hemisphere than in the summer. It's just the collection of stars that are around are brighter and larger. Anyway, Ryan, you mentioned Ryan's belt, and of course, that's so prominent. And there's a number of stars that
00:24:12
Speaker
that are part of Orion's sword and then you've got his shoulders and so on. And just thinking, you know, over, and so we, Orion is the hunter, right? Yes. In ancient societies,
00:24:26
Speaker
they looked up and saw a hunter or some of them saw a shepherd, one of the two, shepherd or hunter. So when you're looking at Orion, you're looking at something 5,000, 10,000, 50,000 years ago where humans would look up and see and have the same feeling about it that that was very special. And it does connect humanity, I believe.
00:24:51
Speaker
That's how I feel.

Music Legends Remembered

00:24:52
Speaker
Yeah. What about the Big Dipper? The Big Dipper. That's the other one too. That's very prominent. Not to be confused with the Big Bopper. No, that's very different. You're bad. The Big Bopper.
00:25:08
Speaker
That's, that, that doesn't age us, you know, it probably, you probably, I mean, wasn't that like a musician or something? Yeah. Chantilly lace. I think he did. Okay. Yeah. So in the fifties. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, you, I just, I did. I just have heard. Yeah. I'm looking it up. The big bopper. Yeah. American musician. Does it say Chantilly lace? J G Jill Jill's Perry JP Richardson Jr. Better known by his stage name. The big bopper was an American musician and disc jockey.
00:25:38
Speaker
Yeah, this jockey to his best known compositions include Chantilly Lay's and a pretty face. Oh, he did. He wrote White Lightning. That was that was George Jones. First number one hit. This is crazy, though. Yeah, he died in 1959. The big offer. Oh, no. There was part of that plane crash. No, no, I don't know. But he was only 29 years old. He might have. But he was. He was in that plane crash with with Richie Valance.
00:26:07
Speaker
Geez. That was 29 years old. Yeah. I mean, that talent there, Richie Valens, Buddy Holly, Big Bopper and Big Bopper in the same time. Roger Peterson. The day, the day the music died. Is that what that song's about? Yeah. Oh, geez. I don't know that. I didn't know that. How old was Richie Valens when he died? Oh my gosh. He was even younger. Was he?
00:26:36
Speaker
He was 17. Oh my goodness. Did you, like people are probably listening this going like you idiots. You didn't know that. Or they're going, who's Richie Valens? Yeah. Richie Valens was only 17 when he died. That's nuts. Holy. I had no idea. Such great talent. Lost. And Buddy Holly, how old was Buddy Holly? I don't know. Mid twenties? 22. Okay. Early twenties.
00:27:04
Speaker
It's crazy to think how big a stars they would have were at such a young age, though. Well, and people don't realize this. The name of his band was The Crickets, right? Yeah. That's why John and Paul named their band The Beatles. The Beatles, yeah. Because The Crickets, The Beatles, right? They were so influenced by Buddy Holly. Oh my gosh, that's crazy. These guys are so young. That's sad. Yeah.
00:27:28
Speaker
Well, uh, there we go. We're showing our age again, Jody. What can I tell you? Not my age, your age. Exactly. You hung out with buddy Holly. I told him, don't go on the plane, man. Don't do it, man. Don't do it. Richie, stay here. Stay here. Don't go. Oh well. Yeah. Oh my gosh.

Endless Summer Golf Event

00:27:50
Speaker
Can you talk a, we got a couple of minutes left. Do you want to give an update on your golf tournament at all?
00:27:56
Speaker
Jeez, I should hire you as like my PR agent for the puffs. I don't think you talk about it more than I do. Oh, but I'm excited. Yeah, no, I know you're pumped. Yeah, so we got some couple of things I can't say right now, but there's a couple of things I can say. So yeah.
00:28:11

event, Endless Summer coming up June 14, 15. Canada's biggest long drive championship pro-am. We've got teams. First of all, we have hitters coming from all over the world, the best in the world. We've got teams coming from all over Canada, which is pretty cool. We had some teams sign up from out west, which is very exciting.

That's amazing. A big, big announcement we made this week is that we just announced that we're one of four events televised for World Long Drive and they just struck up a partnership with ESPN. Wow. This event will be broadcast on ESPN this summer and we have one more announcement to make in the days to come about a Canadian broadcaster. If you thought about it long, hard enough, you'd figure it out. You'd figure it out. We'll do that officially soon.
00:28:59
Speaker

EndlessSummerGolf.ca, ESPN, and another broadcast partner to be named. It's literally, you know, I again, I might be stretching it a little bit here, but forgive me. It's next to the RBC Canadian Open. This could be the second biggest golf event in the country. I think you can say that.
00:30:05
Speaker
Yeah, I can say that. Yeah, we'll say that. Let's do it. Yeah. And I know I need now to make it make to take the credibility off the charts is for Steve Bacon to write a blog on it. There we go. We mentioned Steve Bacon. That's good. We got we we snuck that in at the last moment there. And Steve, if you're listening and I know you are, we've got to see is we've got some special guests coming up that we thought of you when we were lining them up. Yes. Yes.
00:30:36
Speaker
We, uh, yeah, we have some people that Steve will be able to, he'll say, Oh, good for you guys. You took my advice. You took, took Steve's advice. Exactly. But yeah, so it's going to be great. I know you're going to be down here and, and, uh, definitely. Check it out. It's worth the $35 ticket. Make a weekend of it. You won't be disappointed. You'll see the best in the world. We got live music. We got live DJs. It's just a lot of fun. So it's an extravaganza.
00:31:05
Speaker
It is. It's definitely worth it. It's Father's Day weekend. So you know what? It's a great Father's Day gift. Yeah. Bring your dad. Bring your dad. Check it out. So it's going to be a blast. And you know what? Tony will even sign some autographs for you.
00:31:18
Speaker
Well, you know, or pose for some pictures. I do that kind of thing. Yeah. And who's your, are you able to mention, like, who's your, you have a team and you have a corporate team with your sponsorship. Who's, are you able to say who you're playing with or not? Kenny Mitchell's coming, one of our sponsors on this program. He's going to be there and a realtor guy.
00:31:37
Speaker
Sean Sean Mahoney. I think it's he's got enjoy your wealth dot CA. I think it's him anyway. So he's going to be there. And I'm still looking for a fourth. You're auditioning your fourth. Exactly. I'm trying to try to get the right person and the right fit. So now would you lean towards like last year you played with was it Sam Judah? Is that you? No. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Would you lean towards trying to be with him again or would you like there's women hitters coming? Would you?
00:32:07
Speaker
Like, do you have any preference or what? Sam was great. I'd love to spend more time with Sam, but whatever. I think we have to bid on them, don't we, or something? Yeah, we encourage, for those that don't know, it's a fun week where we encourage bidding on your player you want to play with. Again, we should say too, that this event raises funds for our local homeless shelter, the Grace Inn. So we do the bidding player bidding. We do auctions, we do raffles. You know, I talked about, I don't know if you saw my Facebook post, but this is like the eighth year.

of doing the event. And I kind of gave a little bit of a history of the event that was started with my friend, Tim Howard. And then I transitioned into, um, the long drive component of it. But you know, in the, in the eight years we've done there, sorry, the first seven years we've raised, you know, close to $70,000 for big brothers, big sisters, the Grayson shelter and Canadian mental health initiatives. So fantastic. You know, I'm proud to say that we're going to continue to do that. And, uh,
00:33:04
Speaker
Yeah, so it's it's it's feel good all around and looking forward to it. But enough enough about that tournament. I the last thing I was sorry, the second last thing I want to say is, yes, I hope Steve Bacon writes a blog on Endless Summer. So he should. It's now a big international thing going on in Ontario. It is. If this doesn't get me on TV, Ontario, I don't know what will. If this doesn't get me on the agenda, I don't know what will. It should be on the agenda. Gosh, darn it.
00:33:32
Speaker
If this doesn't get me on Fraggle Rock, I don't know what will. This doesn't get you in the big bopper Hall of Fame. Yes. I don't know what will. Oh my gosh. Yeah. Anyway.
